I'll hope you get there.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
An unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirac dot Com is
the way tire buying should be.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Well, we are.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Into the final push. The x Wings have closed up
making their final run at the Death Star. The five
final week of Major League baseball as the AL n
NL wildcard races are insanely good. Teams are playing their
best baseball, but mainly some teams are playing their worst
baseball at the worst time. American League. The Royals and
(01:17):
the Twins just can't win. The Tigers keep winning. The
Mariners somehow keep losing but getting closer to the wildcard.
So the American League, it's like nobody wants it, and
the Tigers are gonna wind up. Hey, we just keep winning, man,
no one's paying it there. We're gonna keep winning. I mean,
what school went today and won his eighteenth game? I
mean it was. The Tigers have been the only team
(01:38):
that seems like they want the wildcard in the American League.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
So what they said, right, go take care of business
and work in silence. Right, what do they always say?
Work in silence? And then the results speak for themselves. Tea.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Here we are meanwhile in the National League, so we
have four teams for three spots. The Padres can really
do a great push tonight to clinch the wildcard. They
lead the Dogs right now two to one, but this
game is early in the third inning. Meanwhile, Mets lose
to the Braves. So the Mets lead over the Braves
is now a game. However, in the fifth inning, the
(02:10):
Giants lead the Diamondbacks tend to nothing. So all of
a sudden, in the National League, some teams that need
to win here the last few games, all right, we're
having trouble winning your giants. Look at the giants.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Look at the suddenly rising up for you because you
were riding the lightning with them last night. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
and I here you are once again. It's like, well,
I lost, but hey, buddy, I can't do anything about
the loss. I mean, Luis Savarino is terrible. Tone. Do
you think Ronald Lacuna in his recovery, stole any of
the energy from his brother. They had a big photo
(02:45):
op and everything was getting all excited. Do you think
maybe he went and, you know, did a movie villain
kind of thing and stole some of his youth.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
No, no, I have just I'm sorry, but there's only
room for one of us. I have to steal your youth.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Like what was that movie? Would justin Timberlake where people.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Watches, yeah, get more time to live, and you would
zap time from other people like you did that to
let me see your watch.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
No, let's stop taking my time away. Yeah it was
in time. Uh yeah, Timberlake, Amanda Side Free. Oh okay,
and that I might actually go back and watch it.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I saw it a long time ago. Oh that's a
pretty interesting movie. And and I remember seeing and what's
his name from mad Men? Vincent carthiser right, he was
a bad guy.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Yeah, he's in there. Matt Bohmer, Olivia Wilde GOALKI pretty
good gas.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Wow, that's a lot of people, A lot of people.
That is a lot of people.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
A couple other folks whose faces are recognized, but recognize
you to you know, go into your IMDb and figured
it out. But yeah, you steal youth the a little
bit of time. Can I get back time? I hope not.
We need we need, we need here.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Although Francisco Lindor was on deck to pinch hit in
the ninth inning, the Mets didn't wash uh either.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Like he's a movie teaser, like at the end of
a Marvel movie where they come back like, ah, does
he know about his father yet? And then it goes
back to the credits again.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
There's what I'm hoping, and is what there's realistic. What
I'm hoping is that this means, hey, he's better. He
may be back in the lineup in the next day
or two, but more than likely it's hey, let's get
him in that bat in case he can come back,
and he's faced live pitching and he's you know, not
completely lost. He doesn't come back to the last three
games and goes one for thirteen with ten strikeouts, So
(04:31):
I still think probably a little bit of ways away
from coming back. But if he's up there to pinch hit,
it means he can swing the bat, so at least
he's in that role. He can pinch hit and then
probably get pinched run four, but at least he's can
contribute a little bit. So I'm thinking the Mets we're
looking for, let's get some good karma of some kind
going into the game on Wednesday night.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
No, that's good.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
I mean we Chrissale, who hasn't lost in like eight years,
is pitching.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
So yeah, I mean, we did celebrate the anniversary of
shawsh Ank and we know all about hope. That's what
you're trying to sell here. You're dangerous thus man. So
a lot more baseball coming up a bit.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
We'll get the final wild card predictions from John Paul
Morosi and tell you exactly how the White Sox avoided
history of the bad kind tonight. But out of the NFL,
the world's most popular and influential quarterback, Derby has still
not been solved. Coming off his best game with the
Pittsburgh Steelers. Justin Fields was fantastic this week. Had a
(05:26):
big long touchdown past to Calvin Austin, ran the offense well.
This was the best offensive performance we have seen the
Steelers have this year. He is growing into the role.
He is playing better. You can see that he's a
guy that brings jump to the offense. And now at
three and zero, how do you go back to Russell Wilson? Right,
but still Mike Tomlin doesn't want to annoy Justin Field's
(05:49):
the guy and wants to continue to keep the door
open for Russell Wilson. Here's Mike Tomlin from earlier today
basically saying, decision, I don't need to make a decision.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
When Russ gets to an appropriate point of health and
we have a decision to make, I'll make it and
I'll announce it and I'll be really transparent about it.
But until then, I don't care how many ways you
guys asked me. I got no intentions of making the
decision that's unnecessary at this juncture.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
What more do you need to see from Justin Why
not name him the.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Starting quarterback on because there's no need. I explained to
you the variables of the week. It has not changed.
He's gonna walk in this building with that mindset tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Did I stutter? Did I stutter? But what, Brad? What
did you say?
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Brad?
Speaker 5 (06:32):
What?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
There's Mike Tomlin finding a way to just kick the
can down the road. Look, and we told you this
last week, as long as Justin Fields is playing well,
Russell Wilson will not be healthy. Congratulations for people who
kind of stole that take the last couple of weeks,
caton congratulation, feeling stealing that take that we had a
(06:54):
week ago that as long as Justin Field is playing well,
Russell Wilson is not going to be deemed healthy enough
to play.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
There's no reason to address it.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Hey, kick that what Mike Tomlin really is saying here
I don't want to address it, is that, Hey, things
are going well right now. If I name Justin Field's
a starter and he stinks and I go to Russell Wilson,
it's a whole thing. But right now, Justin Fields, week
to week or a couple weeks to week, it's working.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
And if I name him the starter, then it becomes
a thing. Because the folks that were advocates for us
including Russ probably start chirping a bit.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yeah, and then and then it becomes do we trade
Russell Wilson? And it's an outside distraction. So I get
exactly what Mike Tomlin is doing. I understand it. I
don't need to I don't need to do it. He's
telling you the truth. I don't need to do it,
even though the whole world knows, hey, Justin Fields your quarterback.
You're three and zero. He's playing better every week, but
they still want to protect Russell Wilson. They want to
(07:49):
protect his image because again, find someone who loves you
as much as Mike Tomlin loves Russell Wilson. We're protecting
his image. We're protecting him as an asset everything else.
He will not be deemed healthy as law as Justin
Fields plays well. We told you this last week that.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
It's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
He's working, he's limited, he's got to be able to
do a lot of things before he can get back in.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
And then magically, if.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Justin Fields has a couple of bad weeks, not one
bad week, but if he has a couple of bad weeks,
then bang, Russell Wilson's gonna be healthy and ready to
jump back in there and play, but he is not
going to be deemed healthy until that happens. And everybody
is on board with it. Everything is going fine. This
is what's going on. I'm sure Russell Wilson is dying
to tell you how he's feeling and where things are at.
(08:32):
But the team is winning. There's nothing he can do.
The quarterback is playing well. You are three to zero
and the quarterback is playing better every week.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
He is younger. Sorry, but this is what happened. Had
you not had the calf injury, you would have started.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
And I'm sure the Steelers would still be in the
same type of situation because it's not like the first
couple of weeks they relied on their quarterback. Russell Wilson
could have won those first couple of games. Now, could
he have done what Justin Fields did last week?
Speaker 3 (08:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
That's where the separation really begins is you watch Justin
and Fields on Sunday and he was more being that
quarterback he was with the Bears, except he's got more
talent around him, He's got a better defense, has a
better overall grasp of what this offense needs to do,
what he needs to do in the offense. This is
just a better fit for him. And now this is
(09:19):
how it's gonna go. And I'd be really surprised. It
was one bad week, but two bad weeks, I think
that might be it.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Okay, Well, Russ is gonna get a chance to get
back in here. See what he can do.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
You can always go back to Justin Fields, because remember
Fields is, Hey, I'm going a year to year situation.
If I show up and play well, great, I want
to stay here. I want to be the quarterback here.
But I understand if I don't play well, Russ is
gonna wind up being a guy. But what did I
tell you before the season started. If Justin Fields plays
the entire season a quarterback for the Steelers. I told
(09:48):
you they were going to the AFC Championship game, right,
I tell you, I said, but I didn't know going
into the season how long they would stick with Russell Wilson. Right, So,
but I said, if he plays the whole sit when
they got him, I said, I'll find.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
It on Twitter.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
I can have it right back to you the Berth transfer.
If he starts all year, the Steelers are going to
the af He's been starting all year and are the
Steelers one of the three best teams in the AFC
right now. The beauty for them is that there's still.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Room to grow. Right the offense hasn't clicked at all levels.
And for Arthur Smith and you know, Mike, Mike Domalin
is a diabolical genius because it doesn't have to be pretty.
Like That's the thing that we always get get caught
up in in the NFL games and any sport. Right
as long as you're winning. Sure, we could point out
the flaws of the Chiefs and everybody's going to go. Well,
(10:42):
if they were one and two, you'd be talking about
often how bad the offense is. Guess what they're not.
They're not they're three and oh. So it doesn't have
to be pretty. There's plenty of time for it to grow,
and it could go sideways, no question, both for the
Steelers and for the Chiefs as I grabbed them and
bundle them together. Here in terms of our top of
the AFC, and we talked about it last night, you
(11:04):
could find the podcast where the Bills are right now
because we're not talking about the playoffs and what happens
come January. We're talking about the regular season here in September.
The here and now, Justin Field's doing enough to get
the job done. Now, if Russell Wilson had been healthy
enough to start the season, he would have started the
season because there would have been some level of commitment
(11:26):
to him off the blocking sled being the thing that's
felled in instead wasn't healthy for week one. And now
you roll forward, right, we have Jay Glazer on every week.
He was telling us a couple of weeks ago how
much Arthur Smith, Mike Tomlin and company all love Justin Fields.
The attitude he's brought in. You've seen it with the
teammates and how they rally around him. Doesn't mean they
wouldn't do that for USS, but there's definitely an energy
(11:48):
that's rolling through this squad. And so long as TJ.
Watt and high Smith and those guys are healthy on
the defensive side of things, you're gonna stay in games.
So it's just can you get to twenty right, that's it.
It's a race to twenty points each and every week.
And looking at the schedule going ahead, I mean, this
is gonna be fun, right because you got the Colts
(12:08):
on the road. They'll terrorize Richardson. I mean that's that
won't even be pretty. You're talking about a sub fifty
completion rate, a couple of spectacular plays, but otherwise desolate.
And then we go back to the battles of the
seventies when the Cowboys show up at Actressure in a
couple of weeks. You want to talk about potential going
(12:29):
off the rail. I mean, Jerry Jones can't wait for
the radio appearance after the offense gets slowed down and
defeated there, But you know, the schedule lines up. Then
you got the Raiders and you got your Jets, like
all sorts of winnable games until the Jets. Until the Jets.
I figured you'd stop me there. But anyway, the point
being that it doesn't have to be a masterpiece. It's
(12:51):
all about winning, right, It's it's all about getting through
the first quarter of the season. Did you go three
and one? Great? All right? Next and move on? Yeah,
obviously we got that odd seventeenth game that kind of
screws up by the quarter system that we like to play.
But justin fields at this point has done nothing to
open the door for Russell Wilson to come take that job.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
No, and in fact, he shut it like week Week one,
Week two, okay, he managed the game. Well, you can
see they really can use the way he gets out
of the pocket design runs. But Week three it's more, oh, yeah,
this is this is coming to be my offense.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
But in back in Chicago, even with just uh, with
Caleb Williams throwing for three sixty, there was still you know,
if Justin Fields were here, there is a play here,
there was a player. It's like, shut up because they look.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
At three and o versus one, at three and overs
three and oh okay three and oh winning culture coach
telling him system continuity.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Bears Yeah, whatever.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Russell Wilson will not sorry, buddy until he falters. So
it goes, So goes exit out about a Fresco exit

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. This is My Nightmare, Live from the Tireck
dot Com Studios. Now that was excessive.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Wow, big night.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Major League Baseball, the race for the wildcards in the
National League American League may just be a battle of
who loses the least, with all the teams losing to
get closer and closer to the end of the season.
You're of attrition, man, let's go, man, just train about winnings.
We lost less games. Joining us now in the hotline,
(14:55):
nobody better to break down what we're going to see
over the next few days. MLB Network Insider, Fox Sports
Radio Winsider and guest Detroit Lions football picker.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Yeah, John, Paul Morosi, what's happening, Pump?
Speaker 5 (15:09):
I believe I like the Lions. Am two and one
on the season.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Well, what what? Whatever the Lions do?
Speaker 1 (15:18):
That's pretty much your record because you picked the Lions
every week.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
That's true. Whatever the Lions do, you do? But we
haven't played ats, But yeah, it works.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Maybe let's let's see how I feel by the end
of this conversation. I have not yet waited on the
Seahawks and Lions on Monday Night football in a week,
which is gonna be an excellent game.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
But they're wearing those cool new uniforms, so I mean,
maybe that pushes you over the edge.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
M that is true. I do think though, so Seahawks undefeated,
Lions got a nice, nice win on the road there
against the Cardinals. But I do think it's gonna be
a tough match. This is gonna be a prime time
game coming up. Love it, and it's gonna begin the
week of the MLB post season. So a lot of
(16:01):
good things happening right now.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
And now Dan Campbell just moved to live next to
John paulm Moros by their neighbors.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
Now I understand something, yeah hurt, something like that wasn't
wasn't very good. Somebody somebody was not being respectful.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
To the coach.
Speaker 6 (16:17):
I don't like that.
Speaker 5 (16:18):
That's not that's not okay.
Speaker 6 (16:19):
That is that is not okay, not okay to disrespect someone.
Speaker 5 (16:23):
I don't. I didn't like that at all.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
And I I of course, as you know, Dan Campbell's
got my full support and he's key and his family
should not have to go through that all right.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Now before we get to your pick, and I'm thinking
the lines maybe twenty seven points before we get to pick. Obviously,
we look, we're we're all in on the wild card
race the next few days here and you know we'll
start in the National League. The Braves beat the Mets tonight,
the Diamondbacks are getting thumped by the Giants. But you
think it's the Dodgers that are in the most trouble
right now the next few days.
Speaker 6 (16:53):
Well, here's my thought on the Dodgers. It's not so
much that they're in jeopardy of losing the division now.
They are losing to the Padres right now. The Padres
are as we speak, three games back. The Padres have
the tiebreaker, so if they're able to pull even by
the end of the season, then the Podreys would win
(17:14):
the division based on the tiebreaker had to head. So
that's real and that's something to think about. The point
I'm thinking about with the Dodgers in general.
Speaker 7 (17:23):
Though, is who is going to start all of these
games in the postseason and who do you trust to
get you into the fifth or sixth inning of postseason
games on a consistent basis.
Speaker 5 (17:34):
It's not just about winning one or two games here
and there.
Speaker 6 (17:39):
You're gonna have to go back to the same starting
pitchers on regular rest more often.
Speaker 7 (17:44):
Than not, and I just don't see it.
Speaker 6 (17:48):
Yawamoto has struggled, He wasn't able to stay healthy, and
even when he came back, it hasn't been sharp. Kershaw
has been out, Glass Nile's not coming back. Miller keeps struggle.
Knack was on the mountain to night, didn't really pitch
grade either. So I'm I'm at a loss here about
where this team is going to go for their starting pitching.
(18:10):
And it's I'm sure someone's out there listening saying, yeah,
but it's a bullpen game in the postseason. It is,
and it can be. But the reason why, the why
the Giants won the twenty fourteen World Series while utilizing
openers a lot of the time is because they had
Bumgarner soaking.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
Up innings in the other games.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Who was going to be there?
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Bumgarner?
Speaker 6 (18:33):
Who is going to be there? Cole Hamilton in two
thousand and eight. The opener strategy works when you've got
a horse to take care of one game almost by himself.
And I do not see any pitchers like that on
the Dodgers roster right now.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
I heard the stat thrown out our guys, patri some
money talking about the fact that Paxton still has more
starts than any pitcher that's going to be available for
the Dodgers.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
That's correct, then that's correct, and he's And for those
of you who are just joining us, James Paxson is
no longer remember the Los Angeles So we'll bring you
up to speed on that one if you if you're
just joining the radio program right now.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
There you go, all right. So Jason gripping after a
Mets loss earlier, who's actually showing up out of the
wildcard in the National League because he's rarely nervous about
Chris Sale tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (19:22):
Jason, buddy, I think the Mets had their window. Now listen,
I in fairness to them that they played great in
the immediate aftermath of Lindor's injury. Now we're seeing the
full scope of what it means to not have him available.
I think Luisan Helakun has done an admirable job, but
this is not the same team without him, and especially
(19:44):
not when you run up against one of the best
young pitchers in the game tonight in Spencer Schwellenbach, by
the way from Saginaw, Michigan, home of the Memorial Cup
champion Saganaw Spirit. I mean, when you're dealing with somebody,
it was somebody from Saginaw, and he's a tough kid,
really good competitor of great stuff. So that was a
(20:06):
tough assignment. Tonight Tomorrow is a tough assignment. You got
potential adverse weather coming up through the goal. There's been
some thoughts about you have to get creative with rescheduling games.
I don't know that's the way about my pay grade.
All I know is the Mets are not in a
good spot right now, and if Lindor was able to
play at any level of comfort and effectiveness, he'd be
(20:29):
doing it by now. And the fact that he's not
tells you a lot.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
About how much pain he's in. And I'm a little
bit worried.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
I think Biento's had a good game tonight, but not
a lot of other guys did. And I'm a little worried. Jason,
it's been I guess what I'll say is this, as
much as you're concerned right now, if I had told
you in February that you'd be in the last week
of the season playing for something. You would have said,
I'll take that every day.
Speaker 5 (20:54):
Of the week.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
And that my friend is still where the Mets are,
even though I do believe the Braids will probably find
a passing the next five days.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Well, you picked me right up there, Joe.
Speaker 7 (21:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:05):
Hey, friends are honest with each other, remember that.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Okay, all right, Now let's go to the American League,
where it seems like nobody wants to be a wildcard.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Kansas City can't win.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Uh, Minnesota can't win, although the Royals did win the
game tonight, But you have the Tigers are coming. The
Seattle Mariners are still just on the outside. Baltimore's got
the first wildcard locked up, but the other two wildcards
John Paul.
Speaker 6 (21:30):
Are going to be who Tigers and the Royals. I
don't think that the Mariners have enough left. I don't
think the Red Sox do either. And the Twins just
keep losing. They lost to Night to the Marlins, who
are on the verge of moving on from their manager,
it appears, and then skips Chumacher. The Twins, I just
(21:50):
think they are a good team that it's almost finally
catching up with him. They've had a lot of injuries
this season Joe Ryan of course, most notably in their rotation.
They and in their lineup that they don't have enough
and have not had enough of the full season of
Buxton and Lewis all in Korea, all healthy and going
(22:13):
at the same time.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
The number of times that that.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
Team has played a game with all three of those
guys healthy, effective, productive, it's it's probably in the single digits,
to be honest with you, and you just can't win
that way with especially when you're a middle market team
or a small market team. So that to me is
where they're at. It's it's a difficult position for them
to be in. But the Tigers they won today. Trek
(22:35):
Scubele continues to deal he'll.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
Be the Signing Award winner. I believe in the American
League and.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
The Tigers, somehow, somehow are on their way potentially to
a playoff birth for the first time in a decade.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
How about that staying in the division. They stave off
record setting fashion tonight, amongst chants of selling the team,
White Sox beat the Angels but now tied with the
sixth two Mets. How do we really put this in
context in today's Major League Baseball and what it means JP, Well, well, Mike.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
We'll see, first of all, baseball being baseball. I mean,
would really surprised anybody if they if they show up
in Detroit this weekend and win a series?
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Yes, like I mean, it would shock me.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
It probably would.
Speaker 6 (23:22):
But but how many times have we seen teams that
are way out of it now that the White Sox
are in truly a category under themselves. And I think
that the people that follow the team carefully, And I
heard one person actually make this comment to me today
basically saying, John, like, I don't know how much better.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
They're going to be next year.
Speaker 6 (23:42):
What's the sign? What is where is the hope that
they're a better team. If they didn't even really do
a great job of the deadline, the Kopek and Fetti
trade was minimum in terms of what they got back,
I don't know. It is a It is a very
very very difficult situation right now on the South Side.
And I think not only is the current situation a problem,
(24:05):
but their way to find themselves out of it is
a real issue.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
He is the red hot John Paul Morosi MLB Network,
Fox Sports Radio. He tells you what's gonna happen in baseball,
and now he's gonna tell us what's gonna happen with
the Lions and the Seahawks. Despite the fact he knows
about three players that have played for the Lions last
twenty five years and all of them are Eric Hippel,
(24:31):
he will give you his pick right now for the
Lions this week.
Speaker 5 (24:35):
So I've actually seen Jamiir Gibbs is a good player.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah, he is very good.
Speaker 5 (24:40):
He's a good player. Yeah, Montgomery is a good player.
Look at you, a good player.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:44):
I'm actually watching a little bit of football now. It
is surprising to you.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
I know kids are getting a little bit older. They've
got their own devices, So yeah, he gets to watch football.
Speaker 6 (24:54):
What I also know is that is that scoring defense
rankings are a thing, and the Seahawks rank at are
near the top of those numbers. I think I've got
to pick the Seahawks this week. I've got the Seattle
Seahawks twenty and the Lions fourteen.
Speaker 5 (25:12):
I want to.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Surprise, you're covering the number two. It's a four point spread,
forty six and a half to do.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
Wow, I'm saying I'm saying, Seahawks win, and it's the
under Wow.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Wow, John Paul. Just when when we starts youching the answers,
he starts changing.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
The quick game.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
That's right. You know, I try.
Speaker 6 (25:33):
I am a a rather by in my normal life.
But every now and then people and then I gave
you a surprise tonight.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Wow, Well listening, he's not going to do an interview
with you. Just let you know it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (25:45):
The bottom line is it?
Speaker 6 (25:46):
I think now I've never met Dan Campbell. I think
he values people when they're being honest, professionalism and I'm
just telling you my professional opinion is the all game.
But he and every single time. But I've got the Seahawks.
I think they're they got a good defense. They got
a good defense. And the one, the one, the one
super Bowl that I covered, the one super Bowl that
(26:08):
I covered was was in Detroit.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
The Seahawks lost. That was the that was the Randall
l one right the season?
Speaker 7 (26:14):
Yeah, yeah, metus.
Speaker 5 (26:17):
Did you know?
Speaker 6 (26:18):
And I mean I'm sure you've probably heard a couple
of times due that night. You know he's actually from Detroit,
how about that?
Speaker 5 (26:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Hey, you know Kershaw and Matthew Stafford
know each other too.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (26:28):
Yeah, So I've kind of got this, like dostpot my
heart because I feel like they were they were wrong
to be. There were a couple of calls that went
against them. So I'm gonna say the Seahawks make amends
for that. I know it's not their first game there
since the two thousand and six Super Bowl, but I
think they will. They will find a way to win
the football game.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Not many people look back at Super Bowl for you,
super Bowl Excel and say, yes, the Antoine Randall l
super Bowls good.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
That was was that was the catching pass.
Speaker 6 (26:59):
There was a there was a trick there's a trick play.
Speaker 5 (27:01):
Yeah, how do you remember that one?
Speaker 6 (27:03):
The Bettest one?
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Yeah, no, it was all about Bettest. Yeah, it was
really it was all about Bettess.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
It was it was.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
It was a questionable call on fourth down, the Roethlisberger touchdown.
The Seahawks really upset about all the calls they didn't get.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
Following the game, there was a bad holding that Sean
Lockley still has not held that guy.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
That was. I remember I watched the game.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
I was, I covered it so that that I will
tell you that and and the Rolling Stones with the
halftime show.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
He's on Twitter at John Morosi, that is John Morossi
the poop John Paul Morosi, MLB Network.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Hey, congrats on the Michigan win last week. And buddy,
we'll talk to you.
Speaker 6 (27:40):
I got I gotta talk to Petros yet I haven't
talked to.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Me, and I got he's gonna he's gonna dodge your
phone calls. I guarantee it guarantee.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Not the way, not the way Michigan played football. Petros
would be all for a team that runs you over like.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
That, it passes, passes for like eight yards.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
And yeah, I'm saying I thought you're gonna say on Paul, Well,
that was me in high school.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
I passed for thirty forty yards a game we won.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
Until that worked, we always lost lost.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
You're the best, JAD, So you referenced Eric Hipple. Yeah,
he was in the news this week. Eric Hipple was
here's the reason why. Okay, so the Bears lose to
Anthony Richardson, who was terrible. Yeah right, QBR, so you
have this was the first time a quarterback started and
finished a game in a win against the Bears with
a passer rating of thirty nine or worse since nineteen
(28:32):
eighty one, since Eric Eric Hipple.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Ooh, look at the Bears. They just keep setting records. Man,
look at the Bears.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
So bad, such bad situational football. But that's a story
for another time.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
And now let's talk to man who has once been
called the Eric Hipple of Fox Sports.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Ranging. It is Isaac lowenkron with what's trending.
Speaker 8 (28:52):
Just want to make sure I don't range into a
potential Hipple violation, which, unfortunately, in the case many times
prop in my career. Right now in Los Angeles at
Dodgers Stadium, San Diego's Jake Croninworth is having an outstanding
game for his Padres, who have a four to one
leader of the Dodgers. In the bottom of the fifth
(29:13):
inning with the Padres trailing the first place Dodgers by
just three games in the NL West standings. So of
that four to one Padres lead, cronin Worth has driven
in three of the runs two run home run at
the top half of the second inning, RBI double in
the top half of the fourth inning. The Houston Astros
clinched the AL West for the fourth straight year and
(29:34):
for the seventh time in the last eight years with
a four to three.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Victory over the Seattle Mariners.
Speaker 8 (29:39):
The Chicago White Sox rallied for three runs in the
bottom of the AH to beat the Angels three to two,
avoiding a record breaking one hundred and twenty first loss.
Now in recent days, the White Sox Twitter account has
gained acclaim for their good natured self deprecated tweets after
(30:01):
they lose games. For example, a few days ago, after
a loss, a White Sox Twitter account posted and I
quote the number of runs we scored was not greater
than the number of runs they scored unquote. Well, tonight,
the White Sox Twitter account posted, simply quote tonight's forecast
one hundred percent chance of winning unquote. Not the case
(30:24):
for the New York Yankees in their quest to clinch
the American League East, they lost at home to the
Red Sox five to three, despite Aaron Judges fifty sixth
home run. With that victory and the Twins four to
one loss to the Marlins, Baltimore clenched a postseason birth
the Cleveland Guardians over the Cincinnati Reds six to one
to clinch a first round by as well as home
(30:44):
field advantage in the American League Division Series. Jason and
Mike back.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
To you, Thank you very much.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
Ilo.
Speaker 1 (30:50):

tire rack dot Com Studios. Uh, coming up next, Yes,
just like last week, Hey, was a couple of following
a big NFL Sunday, Are you gonna give credit to
a quarterback who played really well? And I said, just wait, wait, yeah,
wait a little bit. Now we've had a couple of
days pass since Week three.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Are you gonna give credit to a quarterback who played
really well on Sunday's name.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
I'll give you the answer on that. Coming up next,
Jason and Mike. This is Fox sam Sports Radio.

the Dodgers for to one in the top of the
sixth inning.
Speaker 5 (32:15):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Meanwhile, still a ten to nothing lead for the Giants
over the Diamondbacks into the eighth inning. So maybe maybe
tonight we'll turn out AA how about that?
Speaker 3 (32:22):
But it was after week two? Well, you said to me,
Jason Sam Darnold had a good game. Yes, yes you did.
After week one, Yes, yes you did. Yes you did.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
See me in week eight. I've seen this before, Okay.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Okay, Well, I mean look, we can only go week
to week, right, everybody wants to advance stuff. Everybody today, Oh,
talk to me in January, like I can't talk to
you in January.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
Man, in September, I said, see me in week eight,
week two, Sam Donald, Yeah, pretty good game?
Speaker 6 (32:47):
Right?
Speaker 1 (32:47):
What did I say? I've seen this before. See me
in week eight. Week three, Sam Donald really really good game,
really good game, right. I told you he would play
well and the Vikings would win. Week three, Vikings deep.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
And I said c J. Stroud would look like a
jag and Sam Darnald would would go up with a
little bro him like he did Caleb Williams. It was
a Spider Man meme. Dammit.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
The Vikings defense is phantom right now. Vikings are the best.
That's the best defense in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Flores has those guys.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Defense in the NF. You want to watch, you know,
go do the all twenty two man. Watch what he
does pre snap Drayton chaos. I don't want Kurt Warner
to get mad at me about watching film.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
I don't. I don't remember. He was on the score
in Chicago talking about he got deep in me. Well,
you know you watch it. You can't just watch it
on the TV. You gotta watch no, no, because he
does that on Monday night. Another in the radio game.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Another Week three, Sam Donald, Jason, are you're gonna give
Sam Donald credit?
Speaker 3 (33:46):
I'm sorry? Is it week eight yet? See me in
week eight? But week to week he's been magnificent and
it's building to a great end. It's like a good movie.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Three hundred yards a game one interception. His quarterback is
at one hundred. Oh no, wait, that's what he was
doing after the first three weeks in Carolina in twenty
twenty one. How did that end for him? Didn't make
it to week ten as the Panthers starting quarterback again.
I've seen this movie. When the league gets about four
(34:20):
weeks of tape on Sam Darnald, they will adjust because
there's a reason why he's bounced around the NFL. Right,
there's a reason why. And look, he's been with three
teams since the Jets had him, So stop with this,
Bill Belichick. Oh, everybody loves Sam Darnald except the Jets. No,
the Panthers had a chance of love him, they didn't.
Forty nine ers had a chance to love him, and
they didn't. Here he is, the Vikings don't love him.
(34:40):
JJ McCarthy got hurt. So Bill Belichick is just throwing
out his anti jetsnas looking to say fun stuff and
fifty stuff. Well, he's waiting to become the Cowboys head
coach of the year four weeks again again see me
in week eight if Darnald is still doing this, if
he's still running through having a Geno Smith like Revive
we again.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Gino Smith with a bunch of teams after the Jets.
If he's still doing.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
It, I said, I'll be the first one to say, hey,
you know what, boy I was, I'm happy. Look, I'm
happy for the guy with success. He was a good
dude when the Jets had him. All the struggles he
went through, he never went public with it. He tried
to lead the best way he could. Just wasn't any
good was in the game, chance after chance after chance.
He loved Adam Gase. Guess what he couldn't get it
done in Adam Gains's offense. What Adam Gase didn't even
(35:24):
want to have running backs out there because he just
wanted to throw the football the entire time, Pictures of tacos.
When there's now after this week, there'll be a month
worth of tape on Sam Donald. Let's see if weeks five, six, seven,
and eight are the same as weeks one, two, three,
and four, And if they are again, I'll say, hey,
look at Sam Darnald, Boy, look at him really doing this.
(35:46):
But right now it's a nice start and we've seen
nice starts, and I get the narrative because here's Sam Darnold,
former Jet. We want to laugh at the Jets because
it's what we normally do. Although, wow, maybe not anymore,
but we like laughing at the Jets.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Aha.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
I've seen this.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
We saw we saw it three years and the same
people said the same things three years ago. Get him
away from the Jets. Look what happens. Look out good
he is. Look what's going on here?
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Look at it.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
No, I'm sorry, dude, we saw, we saw it, and
then he couldn't hold onto the job, and it was, oh,
let's forget about all of that. No, no, no, no no.
I got receipts from all you people that thought he
was great with the Carolina Panthers back in twenty twenty one.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
I got receipts on that, and the same thing here.
Let's see where he's at. Tell me to if we're still.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Having these conversations in week eight, all right, I will
tell you, yes, absolutely, it's been a great start for him.
The Vikings are playing great. It's the best defense in
the NFL. But again, let's see if it's.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
We just want to give you a hug, though, I mean,
because you know, we go back to the with Sam
Sam Sam, and he was your guy, and then as
soon as he went bad, you went full a few
good men and you cut him loose. Oh yeah, as
fast as you could quickly, like he never had a
jets jets affiliation. I don't know you in three thousand
bucks for a life so fast.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
It's like in the movies when when if someone is
holding on the line and and the and and they're
gonna fall like to their death, and they tell the
guy hold the line, let me go, cut the line.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
No, I won't cut the line. I'll save you.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Let me go cut the line. Cut the line, no, no,
I'll save you. It's like they're saying, hey, cut the line. Okay,
boom cut, okay go there he goes, all right, I
got it easier on me if I just let it go.
And wait, you're not gonna fight me on it? No
cutting it right now, trying to get through as fast
as I can, you.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
Said, cut the line. I'm cutting the line. Boy, this
knife is dull. Oh, I'm using the wrong edge.
Speaker 5 (37:26):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Now, it's that does create well, it well, it kills
the the drama of that scene, right, that you can
drag out of the the conflict and strength and all
of that to build up. And we're gonna lose this character.
You do create a whole other path for the guy
that cuts the line. I don't let Scott Glady go
(37:47):
in back draft. Let me go bull Okay, I let
him go.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
You go, we go.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
I let him go.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Oh sorry, yeah, because I can't, because I can't do this,
I'll let you go. Well, he knew he'd be resurrected
in Guardians of the Galaxy as a super being.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Cliffhanger, right, cut the cut the log. Okay, I'll cut it.
I'm cutting as fast as I can come. Got it,
I'm cut it. Wait, you're not gonna fight me on this.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
No, No, I can't do this. We're all gonna die.
I gonna cut the low. I'd like to live, moving on,
But for Sam Darnold, right, it's still twenty seven, A
couple of teams removed. It's always gonna be tied to
the Jets. You gotta let it go. It's not personal.
Let let them. Let the trolls on Twitter and the
people that torment you, the demons in your head. You
gotta let this one go. He's not your responsibility anymore.
(38:28):
He's a Viking. And if it works out well, he's
got Green Bay, then your Jets in London, then Detroit,
then the Rams before the Colts and the Jaguars and
the Tennessee Titans. They get that AFC South triad that
the Bears had to start the season. But if it
goes well, great, you can congratulate him. I'm sure all
(38:50):
of those trolls are gonna line up to to to
say I told you so, and you can laugh. But
if it goes the other way, don't be that guy.
Don't don't get the fat fingers, you know, the panda
hands going back, ha jerk. I told you so.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
I'd say, if we're still having it week eight, I'll
have it, and if not, you need to.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
Be there for that too. But for now, he'd be
in the metal stand of MVP consideration, Sam Darnold, let's go.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
Exit out by the Fresca exit Swollen Dome. We get
back into a huge story out of the NFL. Coming
up next, Jason and Mike
