Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
You want experience during your football season, We'll buckle up,
sweet cheeks. What we've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your flex with Dan Bayer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
To starts and sins.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flex on. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Week four is here. Welcome in hit Mike up at
swamandob you goodbye me at Dan Byer on Fox. Ian
Roddy is our executive producer. He will have his streaming
defense later on in the program. I'm back with a survivor,
pick points of Paloza and so much more. Mike does
a lot of the heavy lifting, and Malik Neighbors did
a lot of heavy lifting for the New York Giants
(00:54):
or receiving wise feelings of the concussion. MICHAEH. Parsons is
dinged up. Those are my takeaway Mike. Honestly, from Thursday,
I don't know if I learned that much more about
the Cowboys or learned anything more about the New York Giants.
It's just some of the star players weren't necessarily healthy
when that thing ended up. Yeah night.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
When it all ended, it becomes a question of how
quickly can Neighbors get back. Obviously have ten days before
your next game, but still it's concerning given the level
of activity. Twelve catches, one fifteen including that early thirty
nine yard or that we can do the ifs and
butts about timing and Daniel Jones downfield, which is I
think really one of the takeaways is deep ball is
(01:33):
not part of his game. I don't know if it's
a residual from injury or just pass past turnovers that
are limiting the want to down that far. But Neighbors
already with fifty targets on the year Dan, so if
he loses any significant time, you really see everything kind
of get taken off the back end of that offense.
(01:54):
Wandeale Robinson with another big game. If you had him
in a PPR league, you're dancing with his eleven for seventy.
But otherwise you know it's gonna be a very difficult
proposition because they can't run the football. For Dallas, it's
Cede Lamb a little bit of Jake Ferguson and then
all Brandon Aubrey all the time. Now, if you're a
better you're pissed at Aubrey because the streak of sixteen
(02:17):
for sixteen on his career of fifty plus went to
the wayside, and eighty percent of the money was on
the Cowboys minus five point five twenty to fifteen your final.
But the thing I'm a little afraid of is you
got the two touchdown passes from Dak Prescott, but one
of those goes with the fifty five yarder to Ceedee Lamb.
Otherwise pedestrian numbers, and again we're playing for field goals. Yeah,
(02:39):
so that leaves me a little nervous. Unless Dalvin Cook
can suddenly go into time machine and show up to
health the run game, you're not gonna have a lot
of balance, And it seems to me like you're gonna
be playing super tow super jock slam Aubrey on the
head all day. Hell, post Bolone came out in Aubrey
jersey for crying out loud. What was the last time
you saw a guy out onto the middle of the
(03:01):
field with a kicker jersey on.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
That's a that's actually a really good question of like
what would be the ranking of Cowboys jerseys you would
get or want?
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Right, like there's and I don't know where Brandon Aubrey
would I'll tell you the Cooper bebe jersey maybe something,
considering he's been great on the offensive line and Twitter
was all a buzz about about his work. But Brandon Aubrey,
I'll tell you whose jersey I wouldn't get. And I
don't want to be disrespectful here, that's okay. But Treyvon Diggs,
like I just can't get over the fact that he
(03:33):
is interception guy and will usually then give up a
big play somewhere along the way. But there's still that
reputation with Trayvon Diggs that he is a top corner
in the league. And when they keep throwing at you,
they still think they can get something on you. Maybe
sometimes they you know, they'll learn and then they'll they'll
(03:56):
do the Richard Sherman and just not throw it yet anymore.
But they still throw it. But you know, Trayvon Diggs
and I don't know, I just I don't buy the
hype necessarily. He's a fine corner, but I wouldn't put
him up there with the certains of the world.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Well, but he was their big offseason acquisition since they
didn't do anything else fair enough him coming back off injury.
There you go.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Let's get into the week four rankings quarterback, running backs,
and wide receivers. We don't have to worry about the
Cowboys and Giants until Week five, so let's worry about
Week four, our final week before the byes. Yeah, actually begin,
and then there's some London football as well in week five.
But everything is normal heading into week four. Mike your
(04:38):
top five quarterbacks for Week four in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Let's get it on. Let's start it off. Kyler Murray
a little down game last week, while we get back
on the horse, going up against Washington, the worst defense
against opposing fantasy quarterbacks giving up nearly twenty five points
per game. Josh Allen doesn't matter. He can take more
digs and digs. Does that make sense? Yeah? In Baltimore
(05:02):
giving up nineteen point eight fantasy points per game six month,
look for Allen to do it running and throwing the football.
The efficiency that they've gained is highly impressive. With Brady
pulling the strings for that Buffalo offense. Number three. Joe Burrow, Yes,
going up against Carolina eighth most generous fantasy defense, Curious
(05:24):
to see how it plays out with his star wide receivers.
Another week of practice and look, they're not solving the defense,
which means Andy Dalton's going to have himself some But
we'll get to him in a minute. But that means
Joe Burrow more throwing for him along the way. Lamar
Jackson going up against Buffalo. They've been pretty good against
quarterbacks thus far, but the run pass opportunity here, making
(05:48):
plays with his legs is what pushes him over. And
a guy who struggled lots of thought pieces Dan and
Ian Patrick Mahomes. He's currently thirteenth amongst quarterback score as well.
He's got an op opportunity against a Chargers team that
is going with a lot out, a lot of starters
on both sides of the ball. No Derwin, James ball
Hawking in the secondary. You've got an opportunity to make
(06:11):
some plays and make some hey for fantasy football this week,
and in a daily league, he's probably got a depressed
number right if you're looking at daily fantasy that you're
going to be able to find some value with him
this week.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Such an intriguing matchup. In fact, there were four matchups
that you ended up touching on in that set of players,
and the least intriguing one may be that Bengals Panthers game.
But we just talked about Dallas a little bit, like
I almost think that the Bengals are Dallas on steroids.
They like Zach Moss, they like his physical running, that's
why they brought him in there, and Chase Brown saw
(06:44):
some action as well. But I don't think that they're
nearly committed to the run like they were when they
had Joe Mixon. And so I am right there with
you with Joe Burrow now with T Higgins healthy, he's
sicky us being a player. I hope I'm saying his name.
You got it right, Yeah, Yeah, there's there's options there
(07:07):
for Joe Burrow, and I just don't think they're going
to rely on the run as much as they did
in the mixing era in Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, I mean, because he was the one back that
could do both.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
I mean I can't stack Moss and Chase Brown and
play them on top of each other like they're voltron,
So you lose a little bit with mix and being
gone by the way, he's he's out still, so you
know for the planet Houston, that creates some other problems.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Let's get to the running backs. You want to hear
Joe Mixon's name this top five, but you will hear
some other popular ones. Mike Carmon, who are your top
five running backs for the week?
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Number one running back through three weeks, and let's face it,
the offense has to go through him because of all
the injuries and that. Saquon Barkley going up against Tampa
Bay six most fantasy points allowed to running backs thus
far this season. How about a little Jordan Mason accent
because we're starting to see the receiving corps get a
little bit healthier. So we'll go with him going up
(07:57):
against New England, expecting some fireworks there. Derek Henry going
up against Buffalo in the number three slot, seventh most
fantasy points allowed, and those injuries in the linebacking corps
for Buffalo show up here with a power runner getting
to that second level. This is where it gets a
little interesting. Kyen Williams going up against Chicago. He said, no,
(08:17):
this Bear's defense really good. No, they're okay, they've given
up the tenth most fantasy points per game to running backs,
Jonathan Taylor's total last week certainly helping that. But for
Kien Williams, despite early questions about workload, would Blake Korum
slip in the injuries at wide receiver, how is that
gonna affect things? He is the red zone offense through
(08:39):
three games, fourteen points, fifteen points and then obviously the
thirty one he put up in week three. So he
goes to the number four slot this week and then
number five. I mean, I've got the asterisk. It would
be Alvin Kamara if he's healthy, but we got to
watch till game day in terms of his hips and
ribs and everything else, which means Jamal Williams suddenly pops
(09:01):
up on your radar, as he does each and every year,
at least for a little while. But I'm gonna take
Breeze Hall going up against Denver here middling of the
pack and with the offense starting to click in the
passing game, Aaron Rodgers more comfortable with the little extra
time off to work with the receivers a bit more,
means that run game that much more explosive because now
you've got to deal with both he and Braylan Allen
(09:22):
and pick your poison in that backfield speed kills.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
I'll tell you the Cowboys, excuse me, the Ravens recipe
for success against the Cowboys. He's probably one you're not
gonna be able to do each week. If you're Baltimore. Well,
why stop right now? Yeah, keep on the riding. Let's
just keep on rolling, you know, And plus, Dereck Henry
is not going to be there for four more years.
(09:46):
Let's be honest, Let's let's get as much out of
that Derrick Henry orange as we can, squeeze, all the juice,
all the yards he can get out of it, and
keep on rolling. Because they they sure did find the groove.
They probably could have used it in the fourth quarter
against the Raiders in Week two. But we'll see if
they keep that momentum going on Sunday night. It really
(10:07):
feels like that game is so for Baltimore, where the
Bills have gotten off to this three and I'll start
where you're like, okay, that's good enough, Like we're fine
at this point. Ravens could go back to back and
then be entirely back in the thick of things in
the AFC.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
It feels like there's a bit of desperation. I did
my usual Baltimore hit that I've been doing God for
since I was a young man with more hair Dan,
but they feel like this this is a game that's
another barometer, right the schedule Gods did them no favors
in the early going. Let's call it what it is.
But home date two and a half point favorite, forty
(10:44):
six and a half at the total and trying to
establish something. And I think, you know, the offensive line
had a lot of questions coming in to the year,
and I said this a lot with Chicago, which is
why you know, Rashawn Johnson was a guy we talked
about with the waiver wire pick up so much. I
don't need a guy that dances. If my offensive line
isn't great. What's the greatest solution for that. A guy
(11:05):
that'll run north south and just bullies bully his way through.
And that's exactly what Derek Henry does.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Let's get to the wide receivers for a week four.
I don't know if there'll be anybody from that Bill's
Ravens game. The other matchups. I think we're gonna see
Mike carmeron who are your top five this week?
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Let's go Rashie Rice going up against the Chargers, back
to back games with a touchdown. He's got two one
hundred yard games on the year already, twenty four catches. Dan,
we may have a lot of questions about the rest
of the receiving corps, and people could write their big
thought pieces and play a violin for Travis Kelsey, but
Rashie Rice, Look, whether he should be on the field
or not, we can have that argument another time, but
(11:42):
until that's adjudicated, he's in your fantasy lineup as the
number one wide receiver this week. Jamar Chase talk about
Joe Burrow, Well, someone's gonna catch that off the top,
and that's going up against Carolina. Give me Jamar Chase
with a big share this week. Marvin Harrison Junior, going
up against Washington. They're giving up forty five fantasy points
per game to opposing wide receivers. Yeah, let's go get
(12:03):
some of that share. Marvin Harrison Junior. DK Metcalf your guy,
back to back one hundred yard game, seventeen catches already
on the season, going up against the Detroit Lions. It's
one of my favorite games of the week. You want
to talk about sitting down. Actually, I gotta work, so
I can't even have some SuDS during that game. Can
I can't. I can't even have a beer.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
If I drank, I could. I think they would be great.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
I think I'm just gonna get send a beer home
with you so you can open it and leave it
on the edge of the table as if I were
sitting there, and then it'll to evaporate over time.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I don't know if
it's gonna turn out in the seahawks favor, but I'm
looking forward to it.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
There you go. And then we got Chris Godwin going
against Philadelphia. You know right now, if you were to
look at everybody in your super Flex rankings, he is
eighth in PPR leagues. Wow, that's amongst everybody. So there could
be some Godwin going up against Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Yeah, Mike Evans, it's a lot of the hype. But
Godwin has been really, really good and I expect to
bounce back for the Buccaneers. I considering you touched on
it in the running backs. For the injuries to the
Eagles wide receivers, I think that they can bounce back.
Don't know what's going to happen with their running game,
but Chris Godwin surely has been one of the beneficiaries
of an absent running game right now for the Tampa
(13:21):
Bay Buccaneers, at least when it comes to a Shad
White that's it. Yeah, running back that I think a
lot of people are disappointed into the first three weeks
of the season.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yeah, it would have been drafted as a back end
one or a high end two. And it's been an
awful lot of Bucky Irving creeping in and he's earned
more and more of a share. The other thing with Godwin, Hey,
the glory of having a guy like Mike Evans on
the squad means number one cornerback normally is trailing him
wherever he's going.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
There. They are your top five wide receivers four week
four in the National Football League. Mike Harmon has not done.
We aren't nearly done again. Ian Roddy, our executive producer,
waiting patiently with his streaming defense, I've got your points
at Balooza, I got your Oasis matchup and jumping back
in to the survivor pool again after the one week ban,
(14:07):
deservedly so, and I'm glad I banned myself because I
wouldn't have been able to make any pick right last week,
so I think I actually did myself a favor. He's
Mike Carmen. I'm Dan Byer. Mike's hop plays gold Source
and Ninjas next here, and I want your flex all right?
What about those players that aren't in the top five.
This is where Mike Carmen gets to tell you on
(14:28):
who you should not have on your bench and you
should play in week four. Again, no buys this week.
There will be buys in week five. So if you
have the opportunity, maybe just take a peek ahead, make
sure your lineup is going to be all right, and
if it isn't, maybe you want to do some advanced work.
But we're going to focus on your starting lineup for
week four, Mike, who are your hot plays? The guys
(14:48):
that didn't make your top five rankings, but the players
that should play on Sunday or Monday.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Still enamored and I love the fact that the lunacy
debates have already started. Should the Bears have taken Jaden
Daniels going against Arizona eleventh most generous to fantasy quarterbacks.
Thus far, we see the offense starting to click and
he makes plays with his legs, which is always a
beautiful bonus for us in fantasy land. So while we
play him, we'll also grab Brian Robinson, who's gonna have
(15:16):
a larger touchcount because Austin Eckler's not gonna be there
uh this week, So an opportunity for Robinson to put
up some numbers as a runner and receiver. Go back
to that much anticipated game from Monday Night football part
of a double header on Monday Night or staggered games
or whatever the hell we're calling that. Then nowadays we've
got Geno Smith going up against Detroit three twenty nine, No.
(15:38):
Three twenty seven and two eighty nine his last two
times out, and starting to see more continuity, Charbonne doing
a great job in the backfield, and obviously multiple receiving
threats downfield, and Detroit to me right now, just mid
just mid Dan. So an opportunity here for Gino to
make a play.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
They've got some history Lions and Seahawks do, and for
the Lions it's not great history. But to you playing
Geno Smith, this may have nothing to do with it,
but I think it has something to do with it.
Last year Seattle went to Detroit won a game in overtime,
scoring thirty seven points. The year prior, they went to Detroit,
Gino Smith the quarterback, and they won forty eight to
(16:19):
forty five. The Lions, in fact, haven't beat the Seahawks
since twenty twelve. But in the games that I was
telling you about, there are a lot of points, a
lot of points in those games, and so Gino Smith
playing indoors, they've acclimated themselves nicely. I don't know if
it's if it's the football gods making up for the
Super Bowl forty travesty that occurred in that stadium and
(16:41):
now are giving the Seahawks some goodwill from the awful
refereeing that we had in that game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But it has been friendly to Gino Smith in the
last two years.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Dan doesn't hold grudges. That's what we got from that
last couple of minutes.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Just you know, it's only been nineteen years and it
still ticks me off.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
As it should, as it should those things stick.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Yes, those are formative years, and.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
It makes you trust, you know, authority, just that much less.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Yes, absolutely. You don't think Cardinals fans are still ticked
about eighty five, right, Like there's there's always calls that's
stick in your mind. I mean, we have to hear
the Cowboys fans complain about Dez the in the catch
and everything with it, like this is this is our point.
The Packers can have their fail Mary. Okay, at least
they were replacement refs super Bowl forty. They were real
(17:33):
refs and they messed it up, all right, I aggress.
Let's get back to the hot place after the Geno
Smith mentioned by Mike Carr.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
There you go. How about Aaron Jones going up against
his old squad one hundred yard game and that beat
down of Houston four Minnesota. This is gonna be a
curious one with Sam Darnold under center, trying to play
a little bit of a chess with Jayrr, Alexander and
Justin Jefferson. That means more. Aaron Jones back to back
games with five receptions, Dan so expecting him to be
(17:59):
active in the passing game. We'll take those easy points
on the PPR side. Keep an eye on this guy
his health. He's got a groin injury kept him out
of practice. On Thursday. But Deontay Johnson going up against Cincinnati.
We've watched the Bengals defense struggle week after week and
Andy Dalton came in flinging it around looking for more
of the same. We'll talk about him more as we
(18:22):
get deeper into this segment, but Johnson last week eight
catches fourteen targets, one hundred and twenty two at a score.
How about Brandon Ayu going up against New England with
the return of Deebo Samuel and now that you've got
to pay attention to Juwan Johnson, I mean this all
got crazy, right, I mean this all got a little
bit crazy here as you go through Khalil Shakir just
(18:44):
on the efficiency, he's fourteen for fourteen on the year,
so we got that, and then this feels like a
DJ Moore spot going up against the Rams. Keenan Allen's
gonna come back and be available for the Bears. Obviously,
Roma Dunesa has been the apple of Caleb william I early,
but DJ Moore making some noise. I think they're going
(19:04):
to try to feed him in this one and get
him back on the positive side and leave some of
the negativity that's starting to fill in Chicago away.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
So if Aaron Jones scores for the Vikings he said
that he wants to do a Lambeau leap.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Okay, that's what I thought that you would say, Ian Roddy,
as the impartial person in this, is it right for
the former packer current Viking to do a Lambeau leap
if he scores on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
I feel like he's entitled to it, being a former packer,
But I don't know like that that would rub a
lot of people the wrong way.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Well, oh, that's fine.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
He's a man of chaos.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
If he does it like he knows, he's yes, so
it is.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
It is funny, I will say, in noticing watching some
games in Lambeau. I can't remember if it was Alec
Pearcy scored for the Colts in Week two, but there
were a couple of Colts that were in the end
zone up again against the wall, and there was a
jump into the stands. Usually the Packer fans will push
someone out if they jump into packer fans territory, but
(20:09):
now players are almost trying to be smart and looking
for their color jerseys to jump into the stands to
be able to do the Lambeau leap.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Hey, there's plenty of them out there, right, I mean
it's rare anymore, even in Lambeau, that you're going to
have a full wall of your home team's fans. Yeah,
it's just too lucrative to sell off one game. Yeah, absolutely,
you know you can pay for half your season oftentimes,
sure so.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
And then in November everybody's wearing Blaze orange, so it's
really tough to figure out who here clear jumping.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
To Hunter Jackets, you got to look to the hat, Dan,
look to the hat, whether they bought the team colors
on the knit cap.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Let's get to the cold soars, the guys you don't
want in your lineup. You don't want to see touch
to want anything to do with your cold sours. Mike
Carmen for Week four.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Tough one for Matthew Stafford. He's been mid thus far.
I'm basically fifteen points a week, and you're seeing a
lot of Ki and Williams in and around the goal. One.
I don't know that that shifts just yet. Still waiting
for the wide receivers to get back in healthy, opportunistic
Chicago defense. Not that he's going to commit a bunch
of turnovers. I just don't see the high ceiling here.
(21:15):
Maybe a daily play again, the valuation is going to
be dropped enough. But in your standard fantasy league, he's
no better than a mid QB two. Well right alongside
him as Jared Goff going against your Seattle defense.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Dan.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
You know, he's had a decent start to the season,
and I say that with all kindness because I'm a kinder,
gentler soul here in late twenty twenty four has not
been hot garbage fully, but certainly not the explosiveness that
you'd expect. I'll take David Montgomery with him as well.
He's not going to get carried around like he did
(21:50):
last week, which was interesting because we saw that in
two different games running backs basically getting carried like they were,
you know, part of a dance corps by their offensive lines.
Montgomery tough sledding against that Seattle front. I want no
part of it. Sam Darnold going up against Green Bay again,
Jefferson versus Jaiere. There's a bunch of chirping going on
(22:11):
back and forth there. This one strikes me as a
two hundred yard one in one kind of game. Maybe
wishing and hoping for that second TD. But again back
to the QB two. You know, I love me some
James Cook tough spot against Baltimore here, he's a high
end two for me. You have to start him because
of the volume of the touches he's gonna get as
(22:31):
a runner and a receiver. But this one, as we
were talking about a little bit before, it's just got
that feel, yeah, more than anything, right that the Ravens
defense they try to shut him down and say, Okay,
Josh Allen, find one of these other receivers to beat us.
Jonathan Taylor back to back one hundred yard games, tough
(22:51):
sledding against Pittsburgh this week. Again in your lineup, but
you know this is where you've got to maximize those
tight end kicker defense slots. Listen to what Ian's got
to say on the streaming d here because we've got
to find you some value there. And then a couple
last ones. Michael Pittman Junior. I keep wishing, wanting, hoping
that battle against Pittsburgh. No, thank you. He's got eleven
(23:13):
catches on twenty targets thus far. Here's his three game
total DAN thirty one twenty one thirty six Likewise, Tyreek
Hill last two games total of six catches on eleven
targets for sixty four yards. No better than a WR
three right now with what the Dolphins are running out
because the Tennessee defense no slouches.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Yeah, the Michael Pittman thing is it's just unfortunate, but honestly,
it comes with the territory. If there were an injury
to Anthony Richardson, his value as skyrockets.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Right and suddenly Joe Flacco's under center and we go
to playing normal, efficient, pro ready football, yeah we're there,
but for Richardson right now, it's too scattershot.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
I want people to realize this. We never ever ever
root for injuries, but you sometimes do try to plan
for injuries. Yeah, just like taking Jordan Mason in a
draft because guess what, Christian McCaffrey in his career had
an injury history, and guess what those that took Jordan
Mason later on in their draft because of that are
paying the dividends of that. If you could get Michael
(24:16):
Pittman junior right now for super cheap, as bad as
it is, I say, do it.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Just like we talked about with Hill the other day.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Yeah, you know it's absolutely.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
The better days are ahead. Either they get some continuity
with the guy that's under center and Richardson takes a leap,
or Skyler Thompson takes a leap or whoever's going to
be under center for Miami, or they go and find help.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
There's someone that's frustrated with what Pittman's given them or
hasn't given them. You could you can give them a
tight end. I'm sure for Michael Pittman, you're right Junior
right now, and I think that it would just I
think it just would be smart play if you were
able to do something like that. The other thing I
want to point out, Matthew Stafford, just because this this
(25:00):
is the avenue to do so. The Rams didn't put
Cooper Cup on injured reserve, which would have forced him
out four games. But the Rams have a bye coming
up in week six, so it sure seems like the
Rams plan because they ruled Cooper Cup out on Monday
of this week for this game against the Bears, like
he was ruled out early. I'd be shocked if he
(25:22):
played the next week against Green Bay and then you
have the buy you could probably expect Cooper Cup at
that point. But since you had Stafford on the cold
source for obvious reasons because of the targets that he's missing,
Cooper Cup being the biggest. Just wanted to point that
out that don't expect Cooper Cup to be there in
week five either because of the buye that they have
in week six. But if you put him on IR
(25:43):
then he'd also have to miss week seven and then
wouldn't be back until the game against Minnesota. That's my
guest with Cooper Cup.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
Well, and you get the help that the way the
division's shaking out, there's no rush to bring him back
right as soon as you stole that win from the
forty nine ers.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Yeah, like it changes, Yes, absolutely, because if you're all
in three different story, you bring him back after the
bye week, he could play against the Raiders. It's a
short week against the Vikings. Then you get a little
bit more rest because of the Thursday night game that
you play. So could all work out well for the Rams,
but they got to get through your Bears first on Sunday.
(26:20):
All right, let's get to the Ninjas. The sneaky plays
that you may want to roll the dice on in
week four.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
How about justin fields going up against Indianapolis two forty
five in his score last week via the air, also
had a rushing touchdown. Andy Dalton going up against his
old team. It's a revenge game. No, it's not knowing
he's been gone a minute. You remember he was QB
one for the Bears. How about that back to back
ex Bears on the the ninjul list as well as
(26:46):
an actual one.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Would you if you were a Bengals fan, would you
trade away the Andy Dalton years for the future of
Joe Burrow? Absolutely, no doubt about it. I would. I would.
I'm not even it wouldn't even hesitate. I would completely
forget that era. No disrespect to Andy Dalton.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Thirty eight thousand passing yards in his career, Dan.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Yeah, great, you know, great career playoff appearances after playoff
appearances and then being ousted from the playoffs, after being
ousted from the playoffs, Yes, yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Or Marvin Lewis in company, Well, I tell you they
had some good runs. But you know, life goes on,
all right. How about an actual Bear? Rashawn Johnson mentioned
him before going up against the Rams. A lot of
talk that he's going to see a bigger workload which
makes sense. We've spoken it into existence here on the
Eye Watcher Flex podcast. Again, a lot of DeAndre Swift
dancing around back and forth. And he's not Barry Sanders
(27:40):
even if he was an ex detroit lyon you know,
in his run with Philadelphia, and you can look at
his career stats and say, wow, four and a half
yards of carry here for the well, you got a
bad offensive line, so dancing around it ain't it ain't
working right now. So I think you're gonna see more
of a Shawn Johnson. They do just say Herbert is
still the goal line back, which would be curious. After
one of the worst sequences in football. I was glad
(28:02):
I was not on air for that, Dan, I would
have been fired on the spot. Like you see the
dump button. There are at least four sequences in that
Bears game last week. I probably would have lost my job.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Oh that's that's on the heavy before. That's much safer, that.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Way, much safer. Yeah. I mean, I look, I don't
get that excitable most games. That was just bad on
so many levels, which means give the ball to Rashaun
Johnson this time, you know, like on the fourth and
one that he'd gotten you earlier in the drive anyway,
say if you're worthy. Going up against the Los Angeles Chargers,
we talked about Rashid Rice as a top play. We're
(28:41):
trying to find secondary options against the Chargers. I gotta
think the Chiefs defense has their way. Herbert's gonna try
to play for the Chargers. We'll see how he gets through,
but his offensive tackles are gone. We've got the walking
wounded left and right for the Chargers. Opportunity here for
the Chiefs offense maybe to take some steps forward. So
Xavier Worthy a guy is a deeper play. Cam Acres
(29:03):
mentioned before Joe Mixon not going to be available going
up against Jacksonville. This one again has that weird feel
to it, right Houston. Maybe they got it out of
their system getting drummed last week, but they're a six,
six and a half point favorite this week against a
Jacksonville squad that really is kind of a tough watch
through sixty minutes of football anymore. But for cam Acres,
(29:25):
opportunity knocks. Michael Wilson. Going up against Washington, we talked
about how bad the secondary has been, how generous they
have been, and we got to give a couple of
tight ends because Trey McBride may not be available, might
be the next of the long list of tight ends
that have missed some time here for us, or come
in with the big red asterisk next to them, or
maybe you just don't trust you know someone like I
(29:47):
don't know. Let's go to Mark Andrews. Where the biggest
compliment he could get from his coaches this week? You
know how many pancake blocks he had. I don't get
fantasy points for those I don't care. I don't get no.
I love football and I wish we could give great
for that, but we can't. Both he and likely were
invisible last week in that win over Dallas, Kolbe Parkinson
(30:07):
going upgainst the Bears only eight catches for eighty yards
thus far, but hot route because I expect the Bears
defense to get after Matthew Stafford and then go back
to the planet Houston. Let's go with Dalton Schultz multiple
catches in each of the games this year. Not monster
numbers yet, but opportunity and just circle because we said
his name, but give him his proper due. Jamal Williams,
(30:29):
go make the preemptive pickup like we're talking about playing
defense at times, he may not see a big workload.
Alvin Kamara maybe just fine. But as we record this
right now, there's at least enough doubt to say, hey,
go find the guy that fits into that offense.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Maybe in the Saints' best interest, even though this is
a huge divisional game this early in the season against Atlanta,
if the injury could get worse or could hamper Elvin Kamara,
maybe they didn't want to hold off. But gosh, it'd
be difficult for him to miss out on a Saints
Falcons game. It's one of those rivalries that when you're
in it, you know about it, but I'm not sure
(31:03):
the rest of the NFL necessarily knows about it. It's
one of the best that when you're in it reminds
you about We used to talk about the Civil War
of Oregon and Oregon States.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
Ah, well that a lot of time.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Yes, and now it's risen to the national levels, but
now in separate conferences, just a different feeling.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Well, how about this one, though, Dan, real quick, as
you mentioned, you know, we're talking to New Orleans in
Atlanta for all of the preseason excitement potentially about their offense.
Could we like the component parts of New Orleans. Didn't
they think they'd roll up the points they did the
first two weeks. But the over underd for that game
is forty two.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Yeah, yes, twenty four to seventeen. That's what that game is. Yeah,
that's exactly what it looks like. He's Mike Harmon. I'm
Dan Byer. This is I want your flex at michaeh
bitzwollen Dome. You can find me at Dan Bayer on Fox.
I'm going to try to assist you this weekend when
it comes to fantasy information. And oh well, our resident
(32:01):
executive producer, Ian Roddy, who's got a streaming defense. Yeah,
we're not done. We're back here and I want your flex,
all right, wrapping things up here, on, I want your flex.
It is week four. He's Mike Carben. I'm Dan Byer.
Ian Roddy, our executive producer, starts things off by delivering
his streaming defense of week four. How did you do
(32:23):
in week three? I can't even remember who you had.
I can't even find my papers on your your list.
Your streaming defense from last week was.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
Oh, I had the Green Bay Packers, right, absolutely, that's.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
Right, that's right. We talked about it earlier the week.
Oh yeah, my bad, And I found the paper. I
found the paper.
Speaker 5 (32:39):
You can hear it right here, and it just says
Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
It says streaming defenses Packers on it. It sure does.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
I think for Ian it just says against Levis.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
Now, yeah, yeah, no, But but this week's matchup actually
is not going against Will Levis wanted to get a
little more creative with it this time. I got the
Houston Texans. Okay, so they're coming off a pretty bad
week against Minnesota. I expect them to bounce back. I
don't think that's the norm for Houston. Also, Minnesota has
(33:08):
Justin Jefferson. The Jaguars have Christian Kirk. Sure, you know
is good, but you know he's not gonna change the
way you play defense like Jefferson does. Texans defense the
rostered in just under half of leagues right now, so
for a round half of you, they should be out
there available. They're playing at home versus the Jaguars, who
have been struggling. As we saw last week on Prime Time.
(33:31):
The Bills defense got fourteen points versus Jacksonville last week,
five sacks in an interception. Houston's defense themselves has three
interceptions in three games on the year, So that's looking good.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
I'll tell you another thing. You're just looking at it. Yeah,
the country will tell you right now. The Houston Texans
are the third most picked up defense right now in
Fantasy this week.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
And you better hurry.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
So there you go. Yep, get in now, Get in
now while you hand you sold me on just trying
to bounce back against the Vikings, because I'd be pretty
ticked off about that performance last week. And I don't know,
I don't know how the Jaguars respond, Mike when you
go to what they put up on a short week
in Buffalo. And now you've got to go face the
(34:18):
Houston Texans, who aren't too happy.
Speaker 5 (34:20):
It's a Damiico Ryans defense too.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
No, it's it's tough. I mean because Trevor Lawrence looks lost.
Line's not any good, he doesn't have a game changing
player on that offense, and at times looks skittish. And
you know, when you're playing the careful game of I
don't want to put the ball in harms way, You're
(34:43):
more likely to put the ball in harm's way by
holding on to it too long and getting it slapped
out of your hands. As we've seen Trent Lawrence do
not to mention he's completing what fifty percent of his
throws like it's it's amazing. In a twenty twenty four
NFL that's basically says, all right, you started sixty three
percent and let's go from there. That that he's playing
to the level he is a huge disappointment for Doug Peterson.
(35:07):
Really kind of rips away a lot of the genius
tag that he had once upon a time.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
I hate to say this because it's hypothetical, but if
Travis etn doesn't fumble in Week one against Miami, yeah,
do you think it's this bad? No?
Speaker 3 (35:21):
But that's it. They lost those two games by a
combined eight points. Yeah, and then and then they go
and get absolutely blind. Would they have finished that game
against Miami? I don't know. It would have been fun
to watch. But you're you're absolutely right right, because the
first play thereafter was the eighty yard bomb to Tyreek Hill.
Just like that, I had the wheels came off. But
(35:41):
either way, it's not like I guess I'm looking at
Lawrence specifically, is that he has not played well even
in that game. You know it was you know, you.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Don't have you know, Evan Ingram's been dinged up, so
that has hurt, But that's not been the whole problem.
I thought things are going to get better. Actually without
Calvin Ridley there. I didn't think that fit worked last year.
I felt that they had something going with with what
they had previously, and I was wrong on that because
nothing has gotten going so far this year. All right,
(36:16):
streaming defenses, Houston Texans, Did you have another one? Ian Roddy?
Speaker 5 (36:20):
No, that'll do it for this week's Yeah, that's just one.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Yeah, just don't don't go any deeper into the mud
than you have to. That's all. That's all I'm gonna say.
Speaker 5 (36:30):
Yeah, I wasn't going to force another one this week, but.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Sure, Vikings a popular pick because people just didn't have
the Vikings and so they're now finally catching up to it.
The Titans defense is actually an interesting play against the
Dolphins on Monday Night. It's just a matter of I mean,
who knows what's gonna happen. So if you're you're in
a deep league and the defenses are gone, your medals
(36:52):
will maybe, you know, why not just cast that that
real deep into the water and see if he can,
if the Titans defense can do something.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Thirty six and a half. Guys, that's the over on
Titans Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
The over under in Detroit right now, forty five and
a half. It is not the highest of the week.
Highest of the week belongs to the Commanders and Cardinals.
That's got you over fifty. And while I've really considered
the Bengals Panthers game as my points at Palooza, sitting
there at forty six and a half because it wasn't
(37:27):
the highest, it is the second highest over under that
we've got this week, tied with the Bills and Ravens.
So I'm gonna go with fourth place. I'm going with
Seahawks Lions. I know you had Jared Goff and your
cold source Mic, but I think that there's something to
look at with the history of this game. For some reason,
when these teams play, there's points, they give up points,
(37:48):
they go up and down the field, and I think
we're gonna see it again on Monday night. Because it's
a Monday night game. You're not necessarily sure on the
health of some key pieces, Specificallyamith Walker, the third for Seattle.
But to your point, Zach Charbonay seemed to fill in
fine last week against the Dolphins. We'll be curious to
see on what the Seahawks defensive line is because it
(38:09):
doesn't look like Bira Murphy's going to be available for
them for a couple of weeks. Leonard Williams is also
dinged up, so if they're not there in the middle
or Williams getting after the quarterback, We'll have to see
how it plays out. But I think you could see
some points in Seahawks Lions, just because history of the
last two seasons has told us there's points in Seahawks Lions.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
I am I'm hoping, so you know, for my sake,
I'll be okay with being wrong with golf being there
because you know, we spent a lot of times banging
the drama all year long of su how he was
going to, you know, play in domes all year long,
and he's that he's not been good well, so.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
You know, yeah, yeah, Gino is your hot one of
your hot plays, Yeah, DK Metcalf and one of your
top fives. So in sitting there at number four for
the wide receivers. So for my case, hopefully these Seahawks
end up picking up their end of the bargain. That's
my points of Palooza four Week four, my Survivor pick.
I am back in the game, even though I was
knocked out of the Survivor pool last week, not suspension wise,
(39:09):
but my actual Survivor pool that I cared about. I
was like money that had the Bengals on Monday night
and had my heart ripped out. And the reason why
it was so excruciating, Mike and Ian is because I
originally thought I should take the New York Jets, and
I talked myself out of it went with the Cincinnati Bengals.
And one of the reasons that I did that was
(39:32):
because I said, well, I'll just use the Jets next week.
And I didn't make it to next week, but for
the sake of this podcast, I did give me the
Jets in the Survivor pick against the Broncos. For as
great as Denver's win was last week, I don't think
that they make it back to back. It's a lot
of travel on this team, and the Jets finally get
(39:53):
some rest, they get a week and a half off.
I like the Jets to beat the Broncos this weekend.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
One of the biggest point spreads we've seen this year
is that it's on the other side of seven.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Yeah, there haven't been many, right, We.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Got San Francisco, New England at ten and a half
this week and then Kansas City Chargers as we sit
and record late on a Thursday night, is seven. Otherwise
we've seen a bunch of six and six and a half.
Crossing that seven threshold has been rare.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
I'll tell you what. There was a stat. Our buddy
Jimmy Shapiro over at bed online and has done great
stuff for years, had this nugget pass along. One of
the insiders from the Action Network, Evan Abrams, pointed out
that underdogs of seven or more points to start the
(40:47):
season four and zero against the spread, the first time
that dogs of seven or more points are above five
hundred straight up through three weeks since nineteen fifty six,
and it's the first time in over seventy years. The
biggest underdog in each of the first three weeks one outright?
Speaker 3 (41:05):
How about that.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
Patriots beat the Bengals in Week one, Raiders over the
Ravens in Week two, Commanders Monday Night against the Bengals
in Week three, first time in over seventy years.
Speaker 5 (41:16):
Score one for the little guys.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
Yeah, how about that. Absolutely, that's a nice trifect. I
wonder what it would have paid off if you bet it.
Money line, money line, money line.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
Yeah. Oh, how do you feel about your Jets against
the Broncos this Sunday Ian?
Speaker 5 (41:28):
I feel pretty good. I knock on wood.
Speaker 4 (41:30):
I feel like whenever I go out of my way
to say something good about the Jets, it always ends
up blowing back in my face. But but yeah, it's
a it's a Hacket revenge game, which I guess he
technically got last year when they beat the Broncos, but
he actually has his buddy Rogers now. So yeah, I mean,
I don't know how I'm feeling about Garrett Garrett Wilson
with Patzertan, that's something I'm worried about.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Hey, could get a lot of Alan Lazard.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
And seems like a Lazard game.
Speaker 5 (41:55):
Yeah, Conklin, maybe.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
Yes, all right, I'm gonna ender this one. My Oasis
song of the Week.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Oh let's go.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
So we had Cigarettes and Alcohol was last week and
we took Caleb Williams of the Bears because nothing was
good for the Bears, just like you know, cigarettes and
alcohol they're they're not really good for you. You love
to have them, but they're not really good for you.
It's like Caleb Williams. I love watching him play Mike
He's it's a it's actually really enjoying to watch him
(42:24):
run for his life. I hate to put it in
that way, but it is like it's it's I and
I think that the Bears made the decision because whoever
is coaching them next year, because it's not going to
be Matt Eberflus and it's not going to be Shane
Waldron will hopefully do wonders for his career. But I
really enjoyed it. But Kayla Williams came through three hundred
and sixty plus yards, you know the couple of touchdown
(42:46):
passes he cashed in for me last week, different Oasis
song each week, and this week's song Where did it
All Go Wrong? And I am talking about Amari Cooper
of the Cleveland Browns. Where where did it all go wrong? Cleveland?
How in the world did you end up in this
spot of losing at home to the New York Giants.
(43:07):
He got Deshaun Watson blaming everybody else, and Amari Cooper
is now blaming the local media on how they ask questions.
But it is a bit of a revenge game, even
though he's had other stops in other places. Cooper against
his former team, the Raiders last week did have seven
catches for eighty six yards and a couple of scores
in that game against the Giants. I think he continues
(43:29):
this week in Week four against the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (43:31):
Let's go, well, let's go. Potential for chaos if it
goes south.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
I'll tell you what. It couldn't get worse than what
he had the first two weeks. Now five catches for
twenty seven yards. So that's that's what Amari Cooper had
the first two weeks. Was able to salvage it. So
now let's hope that Amari Cooper can continue that with
week four.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
I really hope he likes Jamis Winston and ed he
throws a pretty ball because sooner rather than later, Dan.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Do people think that Jamis wins thinking and still wing it.
I don't know that.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
Like there's it can't be any worse than what we've
seen from Watson.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
True, I agree with that, and there was a point
where Jamis could wing it. Just he kept on winging
it to the other team. That is true, that was
the problem. And then he thought aus Sean Payton's gonna
fix him, and then he had the injury. I don't
know if he's ever been the same, but hey, at
least for one week of playing the Raiders, that could
be actually a fun game in Las Vegas. Oh, I
like it. Yeah, it won't be my points at Palosa.
(44:29):
But Amari Cooper in my Oasis song of the Week,
Where did it all go wrong? That's what I asked
the Cleveland Browns. But he'll bounced back for a big week.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
I dig it. Hey, tickets go on sale soon, fellas,
let's go.
Speaker 1 (44:41):
Let's let's figure this out. Maybe get a night out
for once, who knows, have a good time.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
You know.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
I've only been to so far once since it's been built,
And it was for the Georgia TCU National Championship game.
Where rat cool though, Yeah, and when it was like
fifty two to six.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
Yeah, I mean the game itself wasn't cool, but college
football was awful.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
It was awful. It was an awful night.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
Smith and I were on air looking at each other,
going what else is going on tonight? Anything?
Speaker 1 (45:11):
I went? I went.
Speaker 5 (45:13):
I went to SOFI for a playoff game Rams Cardinals,
which was also a blowout.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
Funny enough, did it rain and numb your hands as
you're sitting You've got me beat there They put us
in the open end where so like the wind is
just howling, the concrete was still like new and slick.
So then when it when it rained for the you
know three days that it does. At that point, people
are sliding everywhere. Just a miserable experience. But hey, you
(45:40):
got to see a playoff game, Harmon, see the super Bowl?
There I have and much more.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
A lot of concerts and random chaos. I've spent a
lot of hours standing in line getting into that place.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
Yes, and now you got the into it thome next door.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
Yeah, yeah, all right, let's let's go. Let's get out
of this podcast. I hope all your fortunes are well
in week four. Hopefully we provided you with some entertainment
and also some good advice. And they wrote the victory
this week in fantasy football. So for Ian Roddy, our
executive producer, and Mike Carmon, you can find a swollen dome.
Hit me up at Dan Buyer on Fox. I'm Dan
(46:14):
Meyer we'll talk to you next time. Here on, I
want your flights
