Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lady, you want experience during your football season, well, buckle up,
sweet cheeks. What we've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your flex with Dan Bayer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings to starts and sins.

(00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flex on. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Reason nine million, four hundred and twenty five thousand, three
hundred and twelve. While you don't bet on the NFL
the Thursday night game, the community, Falcons and Buccaneers welcome in.
It might come at s Romodobe. You can find me
at Dan Byer on Fox. I'm sure if you took
the Falcons you're feeling pretty good, but you may have
already turned the TV off once the Falcons didn't get

(00:54):
that fourth and sixteen mic. But lo and behold, the
NFL keeps you interested, keeps you hanging around, and what
a way to start week five.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Well that's the thing. Normally we say, it doesn't have
to be a great game, it's a show. Mantra Smith
and I have been espousing forever. Doesn't have to be
a great game as long as it's close late, because
then we've got some drama, and then we get to
scrutinize play by play and what the officials are aren't doing,
which came up in this one thirty six thirty flowing

(01:23):
past the over and making betters happy but fantasy owners
happy as can be. But for the end of games scenario,
you know, if you major your picks on the money
line or or whatever, you know, your your confidence pools, whatever,
A couple of calls that leave you scratch in your head.
You know, when we get into where we're at with

(01:45):
pre snap penalties being on the rise, and then you
have a blatant face mask in the middle of the
field that doesn't get called, but a holding penalty that
was suspect. Does you know it makes you throw your
hands up and say, I love this game.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
But I'll tell you people who had Kyle Pitts coming
off of that dreadful performance in week four were like,
all right, at least I got something it seven catches
eighty eight yards.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
But there's two other things I want to point out.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Number one, Mike Carmon a couple of weeks ago told
you Darnell Mooney maybe a guy you look at and
I even said I liked Ray Ray McLeod. And I
know Kirk Cousin's not going to throw the ball fifty
eight times every single night. But when you get sixteen
of those fifty eight targets like Darnell Mooney got, including

(02:37):
two of those ending up in the end zone, job
well done, Mike Carvion.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I appreciate it. You know, it could have been bigger
because he had one hit him square in the chest. Yes,
like they were playing paintball, and down he went. Uh so, yeah,
another big opportunity there. But wow, the five wide. I mean,
Zach Robinson's got to be having so much fun, you.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Know, yeah, not so much Bejon Robinson owners But that's
maybe for another another story.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Well no, I mean that's the continuation of last year,
you know, where he had some solid numbers but never
really went over like he expected. And in this one
it wasn't even like last year. You could at least say,
all right, it was Tyler All's year. A couple of
times Cordal Patterson got into the mix, but this year
it's it's they're gonna wing it around like This became

(03:23):
a scoring fest early and even though it slowed down
in the in the second half, right, it was thirteen
to six the scoring in the second half. That you
know they're they're more than comfortable just spreading the ball
out and letting him take his What did you think
that was maybe a thirteen step drop, because that ain't

(03:44):
a three or five step that Kirk was taking.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
I mean, that was the old video game thing.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
If I run back twenty yards and then I throw it,
it's like a torpedo going at somebody.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
That's kind of what Kirk was doing on Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Well, I'll say another thing, just to point out, the
Bucky Irving taking over the Buccaneers backfield didn't necessarily turn
out as you would have hoped, and now you have
a fumble to put on his resume.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
That had to be a little frustrating.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I know, Rashad White had the big run but still
ended up with more yards because of that big run.
Probably should have gotten to the end zone of Churse
Godwin could have gotten a block. But yeah, just a
funky game where if you had someone who was catching
passes on the Atlanta Falcons, you are likely very very
happy with the performance on Thursday night.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, I mean Mike Evans catches another two touchdowns. Congratulations
on the hundred club past, Michael Irving. Irvin on the
now I got Bucky Irving right in my head. Michael
Irvin on the all time list. I think it's thirtieth
in terms of yardage, five for sixty two and two.
Godwin goes for five and sixty four. His over under

(04:52):
for catches in the game was six and a half.
Didn't quite make it, but that was the thing. Like
Mayfield was efficient early, you had that big by White,
but overall settling for field goals, big drives, and you know,
from the football angle, you know you're scratching your head, going,
all right, what's the play calling here? Let's not settle
for three? This is gonna be a scoring fest. And

(05:13):
eventually Captain Kirk just went nuts as the game wore on. So,
I mean, fun stuff. And look, if you bought sharers
on that falcon side to stay there for a minute, Dan,
you gotta feel pretty good, right because no, preseason Kirk,
while he's not the most mobile guy going on, he
showed a little bit, showed a little bit of wiggle,

(05:34):
you know, to where he's not just gonna turtle. So
that's a good thing, gonna allow these guys to maybe
break containment a little bit. Ray Ray McLeod had his
six for sixty six. He joined us after the game,
Smith and I. He was laughing because Smith asked him
if Hodge was the fastest on the team. He goes,
I don't know. I think we got some guys that
could go like, all right now we're starting fights. But

(05:56):
I mean they've got that kind of depth and you'd
love to see Bejon Robinson. I mean all you can
say is he got fifteen touches. So if you're going
to get fifteen opportunities a game, you're staying in lineups.
But I can understand the frustration mounting.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Yeah, Mooney in London, maybe one two, I don't know
what order you have them, but pits right now.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Not in that one too well.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
But fortunately, when we look at the tight end position,
if we're going to get I mean look.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Again, forty two or fifty eight.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
We're not getting up into those numbers most weeks, sure,
but if I'm gonna get you know, seven targets, let
alone seven catches at the tight end position, that makes
you a King.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
I'll say one other thing about at least about the Falcons,
and you're right about the tight ends, because on the
other side you're looking at in free agency, I think
Kate Otton was available in every league, and if you
need a tight end, you're like, do I add Kate
Oughton or not. But the Falcons their schedule four games

(07:02):
at home in the first five weeks of the season,
and I know with the seventeen game schedule it's the
NFC's turn to have the nine home games this year.
But to start out with four or five at home
in that climate that you can control and that controlled
climate stadium, basically they took advantage of it.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
At least with these last two weeks, could.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Have had a win against the Chiefs. It's been an
interesting start to the season. They've played some tough teams.
But when you have four or five at home, now
we'll see if it carries on the road like it
did in Philadelphia in a week two.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
For the Atlanta Falcons, Yeah, you look at their stretch
the next few games, a couple more division games against
these Buccaneers. At the end of October, you've got a
road game at Carolina. We know what they are at
this point, and then you're Seahawks Dan on the twentieth.
That could be a fun game and that should be
an entertaining one, right, and then at Tampa and then

(07:57):
they get Dallas norths In terms of weather games, you know,
if we want to look at it from that perspective,
road games later on this year, we got at Minnesota
in December and then at Washington the end of December. Otherwise, well,
you know, you got the Giants, Giants at home, You're
at Las Vegas, You've got the Chargers at home, and

(08:17):
at Denver. I guess mid November. Can you remember, it'd
be disastrous.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Minnesota, is it doors? Yeah, so they won't have to
you know, they're not gonna have to worry about that.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Well, look the ceiling could rip again.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Yes, it's true, that's absolutely true. All right, Yeah, great
moments in the NFL history.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
I was on airs that happened.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
That was great. Ian do you remember when the Metro
Dome ceiling ripped?

Speaker 5 (08:42):
No?

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Oh YouTube it.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Sounds like someone ripping their pants. Yes, and snow just
falling like crazy.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Like a quick We'll get to Mike's rankings in a second,
but just the quick thirty second synopsis. Fox had all
their cameras rolling, everything was set up for for game day,
and they don't turn the cameras off. They just leave
them on. And in the middle of the night a
snowstorm came. The snow piled up on the roof and
it was too heavy and it broke and they actually

(09:15):
got it on film from the Fox stationary cameras that
were positioned throughout the metronome.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Yes, please do it after the podcast. That's all that
I ask you.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Yeah, don't worry, I'm not doing.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Let's get to the top five rankings of week five
of note Eagles, Chargers, Lions in Titans all with bys
in week five is the Buys are here. Plus you've
got the early London game with the Jets and the
aforementioned Vikings they will be playing. I believe there is
the new Tottenham Stadium that's open air.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
I don't think it's retractable.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
I think so.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
I think we've got weather actually in the offing for
that one, So.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Take note, if you will. Let's get to the top
five quarterbacks Mike for week five.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
All right, let's start off number two player in fantasy
football through the first four weeks Lamar Jackson going against Cincinnati.
I've been fairly stingy against opposing quarterbacks thus far, but
Lamar as a runner and a passer, and now that
Derek Henry's running him up, we'll get to him in
a minute.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
We get Lamar off the board. At number one. CJ.
Stroud going to against Buffalo. That back seven can be had.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
I know they've only given up fifteen fantasy points per game,
but last week starting to see what Stroud could do.
Nico Collins an absolute beast and trying to get healthy.
We'll have more on that as we go. With number three,
Jaden Daniels a little bit of a I don't know.
I think everybody's kind of pushed in on it. So
I'm a little fearful right wherever all the crowd runs

(10:51):
this way, I usually want to be on that other side.
But against Cleveland, an opportunity, you know, ride the hot hand.
Twenty eight thirteen, twenty eight, twenty five. Those are his
scores through the first four weeks of the year.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Dan Man, he's been he's been really, really good, and
I was waiting for the fall off. I told you
I thought they'd lose to the Commanders on that Monday
excuse me, lose to the Bengals on that Monday night game,
and then things just continue to roll against Arizona. I
think a lot of people thought Commanders can't do it again,
and then they go and they run the Cardinals off
the field.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yeah, and I think you know, for most of us,
we were just a little salty we didn't get a
shootout in that game. Really thought the opportunity was there
to see a game much like we had Thursday night
between the Bucks and the Falcons. All right, how about
this a little bit of a price shot justin Fields
going up against Dallas or fourth most points per game

(11:45):
against bosy quarterbacks, no Lawrence, no Micah Parsons. Thinking you're
gonna banged up backfield means some rushing yardage for justin Field,
some design runs, and that connection downfield starting to get
better by the day. And then we'll finish off our
top five with a little rock party action going up
against Arizona seventh most Fantasy points per game allowed to

(12:06):
quarterbacks and that offense getting healthy. Josh Allen just on
the outside looking in.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
That should be a fun one with you of having CJ.
Straw at number two with that Bill's Texans game in
week five.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
I will say this.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
I did a double check quickly, and then I realized
it as I was saying it, because I remember the
Amazon program about Tottenham Hotspur and they were building the
stadium and they were giving tours and doing the whole shebang.
It is open air because you can go on that
perch on top of the stadium, the little walkway and
if you like, if you don't like heights, it's probably

(12:40):
not for you. But then it opens up to the
whole stadium. So pretty neat.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
On my list of things to do. Yeah, eventually is
you know the world opens up? You know those older
kids that are going to tell me to beat it
soon or no.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
Our boss Scott Shapiro is going to be at the
game on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Yes? That is that is correct.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
I feel.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
I'll be on air for part of it, so I
get to curse the first half hour of it.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
It's the one drawback, the second drawback, I should say,
in sports of living on the West Coast. Otherwise everything
we get is pretty much awesome. It's that in the
Open Championship for me, because it's too much like East
Coast it's you can wake up at six thirty and
be fine, but there's it's just difficult to wake up
at three point thirty and watch the same sort of

(13:26):
stuff out here. So the London game at six thirty
in the morning, hecket's nine thirty. I've never understood how
people on the East Coast can watch the NFL. Having
to wait until one o'clock for the games to start.
Just blasphemy. But they get that nice little treat with
the London game. I'll probably miss the first quarter.

Speaker 5 (13:45):
There you go. I'll keep you aprized of what it is.
I'll just start texting you.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Let's get to the running backs. Top five running backs
for week five.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
How about Jordan Mason going up against the Arizona Cardinals,
fifth most generous against opposing rushers, giving up nearly twenty
eight fantasy points per game. Torunning backs we talked about
Derrick Henry mentioned his name at least at the outset
thus far, just absolutely absurd.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
The level of production that they are getting.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
You know, ten point week one, everybody started to panic,
fifteen points week two. These are standard leagues three and four,
twenty nine and thirty two. Starting to trust things and
you know that North South running. That's something we'll talk
about a little bit more with you know, my favorite
team that they finally actually did it. That helps to

(14:31):
offset some of the offensive line woes perhaps you're having
along the way. So Derick Henry another big spot this week.
How about your guy Kenneth Walker the third What a
happy return this last week for fantasy owners.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
There?

Speaker 3 (14:46):
How about an opportunity against the Giants this week, middle
of the back against opposing running backs. But you know
me love, I love all the shares of the Seattle
offense that I can get right now. James Cook going
up against Houston asked running receiving. They haven't seen Josh
Allen just yet. So opportunity for this game to open

(15:07):
up a little bit, I think. Looking at the over
under sitting at forty seven and a half as we
record on Thursday, late Thursday night, so throw that up
as you will, and number five again a little bit
of a price shot. Curious to see how this offense
runs through because part of it is who's actually under center.

(15:28):
Josh Jacobs going up against the Rams, they've been the
fifth most generous team I actually looked at going in
go to this game fellas get in on the secondary mark.
It was two hundred bucks. All the green Bay people
coming out to Los Angeles.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
No, thank you, Yeah, it's it will be. It'll be
more than fifty to fifty in favor of green Bay fans.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
But I thought, hey, maybe I can find myself a
nice little early October. I probably have a soccer game
I have to attend that. I haven't looked at the
schedule yet, but I looked at the price of the tickets.
It was like, good for them. Now this question becomes,
you know, because we talked about it a lot before.
You know, last week's episode, what happens with Jordan Love?
Does he play? Should he have played? Did he ever

(16:06):
really look comfortable last week against the Vikings? And I
know the Vikings will do that to you. I think
they rushed him back and then he missing practice time
during the middle of the week. Probably going to be
under center Sunday. But just one of those what are
we doing why? You know, especially with an early buy.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah, fair enough. In the Rams now are sitting there,
They're short handed. Game last week against the Bears are
tough for them, a tough one for them to take.
They can't afford any more losses, no matter how short
handed they now. So let's get to the wide receivers.
You want to hear any rams in Mike's top five. No,

(16:44):
I don't know if you will hear a packer or not,
but you might. Let's find out. Now, Mike your top
five wide receivers four week five.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
Let's go. We talked about Nico Collins. We get him up.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
Look, you're going at one of the best defense against
wide receivers to date. Butico Collins an absolute beast through
the first four weeks. He is far and away your
leader in the clubhouse. After that twenty one point performance. Yeah,
he had a dud in week three, banged up a bit,
finished with eight point six points, but giving you double
digits nineteen point five back in week two, so he's

(17:16):
at the lead. DK Metcalf going to against his giants,
gets the second slot. Fun to watch him as things
work right, you know, in what fluidity and the combination
that he's yielded with Gino Smith has been fantastic. Getting
Walker back certainly helps to complay and no disrespect to
what Charboney does, still an important part of that offense.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
But DK coming in at number.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Two and yes, a Packer makes it number two at
wide receiver thus far, two huge games too with Malik
Willis under center. So this is the Jordan Love contingent
play of Jayden Reid sixth most Fantasy points allowed thus far,
targets six, two, six, eight, So we get him in
at number three again, hang a giant star next to

(18:05):
that one, Jamar Chase going up against Baltimore ninth most
generous to wide receivers.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
This one.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
I don't know what your points of Palosa is, and
I don't want to steal any thunder.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
That's all right, but it's sitting at forty nine.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Yeah, the highest one, hey, but at this way it's
the highest one. So it won't be my points of Palosa.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Okay, because I saw one that might be as high.
But we'll get through it. It's a bit of a surprise.
Then at number five, debo against the Arizona Cardinals, looking
for a big play threat, and where Cede lambdy esque
He comes in sixth.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Okay, all right, just on the outside looking in. I
didn't wondered if Jaden Reid was gonna make you make
your top five, and he sure did. Considering the Packers
also shorthanded with Christian Watson dealing with that ankle injury.
Dantavian Wicks made his much awaited breakout game last week.

(18:57):
We'll see if that carries over. Maybe his name could
be mentioned later on in this podcast. He is Mike
Carmen and him up at Swollendom. Ian Roddy is the
executive producer. Find him at Ian Roddy Underscore and I'm
Dan Byer. Hit me up at Dan Byer on Fox.
Mike Harmon's Hot Place, Cold Sores and Ninjas next here
on I want your flex.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
All right, Mike, let's get to the Hot Place. The
guys that.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Didn't make your rankings for the top five at their positions,
but guys that you need to get in your lineup
or maybe just one off place because of their great
matchup this week.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
We mentioned Jordan Love going off to Jayden Reid, so
obviously we're keeping our eyes on the news as we
get closer to kickoff. But just such a great opportunity
against the Rams quarterbacks averaging about nineteen fantasy points per game.
Opportunities abound. Gino Smith again going up against the New
York Football Giants, a tougher opponent that I seem to

(19:51):
like the Giants more than most. But the numbers are
what they are. You can make some hay against them,
and I would expect this Seattle offense to do just that.
A couple of guys at the running back position, maybe
a little bit of a surprise. One guy bashed last
week thinking get his tag team partner would get the work.
He found the end zone, Rashawn Johnson. But no, I'm

(20:12):
talking about DeAndre Swift going up against Carolina. If they're
actually gonna let him run north south, then they threatened him,
I think with his job before last week's game against
the Rams, saying look, man, no more dancing. We got
too many issues with the line. They can't do it.
They can't do it. They're the second most generous to
opposing runners thus far. And then you're looking at the

(20:34):
other side of that and Chewba Hubbard. The Bears haven't
been able to stop the run at all either. So
he's a guy that normally we'd be looking at, you know,
normally ranked in the late teens, early twenties, just because
of you know, the double digit touchcount. Here we're actually
looking at a guy that cracks the back end of
the RB one rankings. This week, Dan, we'll grab a

(20:54):
couple of wide receivers. We'll stay in that game. Carolina
Deontae Johnson with the most targets in the National Football
League thus far. Opportunity for him. Yeah, tough individual matchup,
but get creative, get the ball into his hands. Michael
Pittman Junior, who I had written off, has his breakout

(21:14):
game last week. Richardson slash Flacco. I think maybe we
see more of that again. Whether Richardson starts if he can't.
May look, he completes only fifty percent of the games
he starts. So again, no disrespect, he's battling. But let's
call it. We have a track record at this point
at Jacksonville's secondary. We've watched them get carved up time

(21:35):
and again. Here you have it, and then you've got
Amari Cooper. Here's your spot. You've been waiting for it.
I know Deshaun Watson has as many touchdown passes all
season as you know Baker or Kirk had, seemingly on
Thursday Night week vibe. Okay, not quite, but Washington's given
up nearly forty fantasy points a game to wide receivers.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
There's going to be a points in the season where
the Washington Commanders will come back to Earth. It may
only be for a week, and they may be for real,
and there are some signs that they are maybe more
real than people would want to give them credit for.
But Mike, I like that a Marii Cooper play, you know,
I liked them last week against the Raiders, had the
big play called back the Browns. Coming off of that

(22:20):
awful loss, the Commander is riding high. I wonder if
this is a week where maybe up you know, down
is up and up is down. So I like I
like Amri Cooper as a hot play in that game.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
There you go, the upside down. Yes, we got stranger
things all right. People put that in the tag hashtag
that so the kids see.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
It, all right. I've been told of It's been recommended
to me by many people.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Again, we are the TV is dominated by you.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
I get it, Yes, I get it.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Have you seen the Paw Patrol with Aaron Judge on it?

Speaker 4 (22:51):
Yet?

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Not?

Speaker 4 (22:52):
No?

Speaker 3 (22:53):
Not and making a special Tops update card. I'll make
sure to find you one.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
We've had a lot of trash truck lately. Oh good
trash Truck's a good one. Oh, let's get the cold soars.
The guys you don't want in your lineup, you don't
want to touch, see, or have anything to do with.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
In Week five, only appropriate after you say trash truck, right,
Kylermurray going up against San Francisco giving up fourteen fantasy
points per game. I kept wanting and waiting to see better,
especially last week such a tasty matchup against Washington did
not materialize. Kyler Murray on the out high end QB
two for me this week, Patrick Mahomes, it seems like

(23:26):
obvious at this point, doesn't it. New Orleans and what
they've done defensively back in one with you know, wishing
and wanting and hoping that they find some rhythm and
opportunity and it's not all defense and butker, but eleven
point eight points per game allowed both sides of that

(23:47):
London matchup. I'm gonna watch as a fan. I'm not
gonna be invested as a fantasy owner for those quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
I just can't.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
I mean, the Jets are giving up nine fantasy points
a game to quarterbacks, sure right, I mean to this point,
it's been a disaster. Grab a couple of running backs
real quick. Romandre Stevenson, who may be losing his job.
You want to talk about a paint drying matchup.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
Let's go Dolphins Patriots.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Yeah, thirty six and a half and I think that'll
that'll go down before game time as well. But you
might see more Antonio Gibson, right, they talked about it.
Ball security issues for Stevenson. He probably drafted him as
a volume RB two, just saying they'll stink, but he'll
see the ball.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
He may not anymore.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
And then Zack Moss, who's losing time to Chase Brown
a little bit.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
Baltimore third best against opposing Runners.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Had a buddy who tried to give me Zach Moss
in a trade. Thanks, but no thanks. I'm good. I'm
already dealing with the Romandre Stevenson problem. To your point,
I will say this about Stevenson. The fumbles are the
reason why he is in the doghouse. It hasn't been magnificent,
but they did give him a contract prior to the
start of the year.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I think that it was their plan. At some point,
we think we're gonna see Drake may and I feel
that reminder Stevens said will help at that point. But
right now, You've got to do something for a guy
who's fumbled in every game so far this year.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
That's it, and you know your margins are so low.
It's you know, goes back to the whole justin fields,
Russell Wilson, if healthy debate right, they may not have
a lot a lot of difference and fields maybe the
explosive player. But you even watched it last week when
he had that odd sequence where he kind of tried
to push the ball and pick it back up and

(25:33):
it got squirted away, and for like that, that'll have
you back in the doghouse and on the bench faster
than anything. Ball security is everything in this man's NFL.
It's not like back in the day when you can
wing it around and they go as shucks.

Speaker 5 (25:48):
Right, even going back.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
To FARV and some of those quarterbacks that in the
near near history, let alone, when we look at some
of the stats of the guys from when the passing
game really started to take off in the seventies and eighties,
where it was a one to one touchdown to interception ratio.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Ey seventeen touchdowns, fifteen picks. Let's go, yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
Did we win? That's all that matters.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Do you have any receivers? It's called sours this week?

Speaker 5 (26:14):
You know what, we can always find a few extra
along the way.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
I just didn't know. If you don't, that's totally fine.
I just we stopped at Zach Moss, so that's I
was just checking.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Yeah, I had a couple that I scrawled off on
the board as we're looking at. I mean, I can't
touch Tyreek Hill, right, I mean it seems like low
hanging fruit again at this point.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
But I'll pile on.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
I think he's benchable, right because he's gonna draw Christian Gonzales. No,
thank you, I'll skip that that assignment as it were.
You know, you've got the the some of the usual,
like Khalil Shakir. I don't know what to do with
him against Houston this week, right, I might get my
six catches for fifty yards? Is that enough if I'm

(26:56):
playing him as a three?

Speaker 5 (26:57):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (26:58):
I guess so. But you know I'll take Jordan Addison
against the Jets. No, thank you. An extension what we
were saying before, and Juwan Jennings ended up back on
your bench or back on waivers based on on what's
going on in the in the San Francisco Receiving Corps.
I would say keep him on the bench rather than

(27:18):
the cut, because I saw him dropped at a couple of
leagues and I was like, why are we going there? Uh,
these guys get hurt too.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Much for you to dump into the to the water.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Right, as much as I love Debo, no, no guarantee
that he's gonna rise back from the ashes, but yeah,
like some of them are just from the obvious the matchups, right,
just go with the corollary to the quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (27:41):
Like the only guy.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
And I didn't mention before, like I went Rogers, Sam,
but I had Dak Prescott's name written down for that
game against Pittsburgh. But you're still gonna play CD, LAMB, volume, Opportunity,
et cetera. But Dak's a guy that would be you know, borderline.
But you know Rogers and Sam, you know you're gonna
play Jefferson. But this is a temper your expectations. I

(28:02):
know the aggregate says he's still a top five. I'm like,
is he really? I love the name, I love the history.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
Am I banking on him to go for seven and
one hundred yards? No, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
No, not this weekend, not with no but I'll tell
you what there may be. There may be some breakfast
at Wimbledon coming up later on on the show.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
How about it. Maybe something to chew on with the
London game. I'll just leave it at that. I like that,
all right.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Let's get to the Ninja's four Week five. The sneaky plays,
Guys that you should get in your lineup that you
normally wouldn't have in your lineup.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
What do you got, Mike Caleb Williams going up against Carolina,
opportunity Keenan Allen. Back in last week, you saw the
run game was more effective in the passing game, taking substrides.
That offensive line is always going to be a problem,
so you just need to find workarounds.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
Mister Waldron on it.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
It looked after the whatever team meeting they had ahead
a week four, seems like they've stepped forward. Here's an
opper tunity against Carolina. Matthew Stafford against Green Bay. Going
a little counterintuitive here with the secondary receivers stepping up.
Kyron Williams and what you have in the the run
game and his effectiveness in the red zone. That for

(29:16):
Matthew Stafford, I'm not looking at a monster game. But
this becomes the counterplay for your daily fantasy league because
his valuation is going to be low. Green Bay has
been pretty opportunistic. That's the one thing all those years
that we had them ranked highly for Fantasy dan and
they can never generate turnovers. Finally they are, so you know,
that's one to watch. And then Trevor Lawrence and it's

(29:40):
it's odd, but the matchup is there. I agree, right,
and last week I don't know how much you watch
that game, you know, in full, but the number of
missed opportunities and near misses on deep balls like little
bit air here, not so much air, they're like pulling
the strings.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Shoulder, yeah to Brian Thomas, Yeah yeah, there were.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
There were just a couple of throws. I'm like, oh,
it's a game of inches, man. But the third most
generous to opposing quarterbacks are the Indianapolis Colts are an
opportunity there. So we'll also take Christian Kirk with him
as well. They're giving up the tenth most fantasy points
to opposing wideouts, so we've got that covered. Keep an
eye on Joe Mixon did not practice on Thursday. If

(30:25):
he doesn't go well, set up cam Akers big opportunity
against Buffalo, the worst team against opposing running backs in
the National Football League. Trey Sermon going up against Jacksonville
the other side of that game, because Jonathan Taylor banged
up high ankle. High ankles seem to be stuff people
are trying to play through these days.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Dan, I don't.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
I don't think you want to do that with Jonathan
Taylor here in week five, So I think we see
more of Trey Sermon counter into it and if again
he's been basically falling forward again not expecting an explosive game.
But how about ah Chan going up against New England
here that you just see a volume play in that one,
Javonte Williams going up against the Vegas Raiders, and then

(31:11):
as we look at the wide receivers, you know, once
again going deep down. You mentioned don Tavian Wicks earlier,
huge target count, what was a thirteen yes last week
and against the Rams, spread them out and get after it.
They don't have the pass rush and obviously offensively missing
all those weapons potentially to pay play with a little

(31:32):
bit from the lead and put some pressure downfield as well.
Courtland Sutton, big target game last week. Do I trust
bon Nicks, No, as far as he can throw it. Ah,
see what I did there? And that Sutton touchdown I
still think shouldn't have been held up on replay, but
either way, it counts just the same. And there's so

(31:53):
many problems with the Raiders right now. Antonio Pierce, anybody
get to ask him about the Arizona State stuff, by
the way, her madgwords, get anybody ask him about that
stuff too. No, that's not in the purview of the
Fantasy podcast.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
Oh man.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
And I'll tell you what, my gut instinct was completely wrong.
Antonio Pierce was liking Instagram both because I just thought
maybe somebody made something up, because I didn't think there
would be any way that an NFL head coach would
be doing that.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
And boy was I wrong.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Well, and then you got the documents on the show,
cause yep, there's a lot of things Antonio Pierce was doing.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
Yeah, let's go to the strip club.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
That's that's the sign that they touched at Arizona State
before they ran out into the field. Notre Damas played
like a champion. Arizona States get singles.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
Before you leave Champagne room on three.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Yes, there they are your hot plays, Cult, Soars and
Ninja just four Week five of the National Football League season.
We told you the Buys, Eagles, Chargers, Lions, Titans. If
you want to look ahead, Week six buys some more
plentiful teams. Chiefs are on by, even though they're kind
of depleted. Vikings on by after their trip to London.
Dolphins and Rams also needing a timeout. All right, We're

(33:09):
going to take a time out right now as well.
When we come back, our executive producer Ian Roddy will
give you his recommendations for streaming defenses. I'm back on
the survivor train, even after losing last week's I'm not
going to give myself a two week band just yet.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
That could change after Week.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Five plus points of Palooza and our Oasis song of
the week. It's all next here and I want your FLEs.
Mike gave you a couple of Denver Broncos is Is
Ninja plays and one thing to note. The Broncos will
be wearing their throwback uniforms. Let go, yes, it should
be looking like an old AFC West matchup should look

(33:45):
so the throwbacks will be back with the Broncos in
week five, Ian, you weren't alive when they actually wore
those as real uniforms. Ian Roddy is our executive producer.
He's Mike Carmen. I'm Dan Byer it is I want
your flegs Ian each week as the duties of naming
a streaming defense or two to play each week Week five, Ian,

(34:07):
who do you like?

Speaker 7 (34:08):
All right?

Speaker 6 (34:08):
Well, last week we went with the Houston Texans, which
was a miss, so we're going to own that right
off the bat, but putting it in the rear view.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
Love accountability, thank you love it here.

Speaker 6 (34:18):
We got a few this week, starting with the Green
Bay Packers, who have been one of my past choices,
but they're still only roster in twenty eight percent of.

Speaker 7 (34:25):
Leagues right now.

Speaker 6 (34:27):
They've got three takeaways in every game this season, so
that alone is reason enough to roster them, I think,
and that included a game when jay U Alexander was
actually out, and that's their best player on defense. Arguably,
there's huge upside if they can turn any one of
those takeaways into a score, which they have done several times.
And they're playing against the Rams, who without Cup and Pukinakua,

(34:48):
Stafford has not been the same.

Speaker 7 (34:49):
So I like the Packers chances this week.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
All right, that's streaming defense number one. Who else could
you consider if the Packers aren't your league?

Speaker 6 (34:57):
Also would consider the Seattle Seahawks than your Seattle Seahawks
rostered in fifty percent of league, so a little less
available than the Packers right now.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Getting a little bit more healthy than they were on
Monday night.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Definitely Byron Murphy probably not going to play again because
of his injury, but you could have Leonard Williams, Julian
Love should be back, and there's a possibility of Jenner
Nuolsi could be back.

Speaker 4 (35:21):
Who actually really will spark that defense?

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Yeah, that's one of the big things. Not to interrupt
you there, Ian Knight. But you know that game as
people look at it, and I think the number of
defensive players missing was lost on a lot of people, like, oh,
look at this games like half their defense is gone. Yeah,
I mean, look, you gotta play the game next man up,
blah blah blah. But you hag a star on it

(35:45):
because you're not seeing anywhere near the fullness of this squad.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
And boya Mafe who also missed that game against the
Alliance on Monday night, another pass rushing threat. So yeah,
they he was back practice Mafe was. So you hope
that as a Seahawks fan or as someone who has
Seattle's defense, you hope they can get after Daniel Jones,
who likely won't have Melik Neighbors because of his concussion.

Speaker 5 (36:10):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (36:11):
And it's still the Giants run game, which doesn't really
seem to inspire much confidence, you know, So even if
they still did have some some guys missing, I would
still kind of feel okay about it.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
One hundred and twenty seven targets for wan Dale Robinson looks.

Speaker 7 (36:23):
At yeah, with neighbors last week he had like eighteen.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
I'll tell you what I considered.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
I considered Seahawks Giants points of palooza if Melik Neighbors
would have been healthy. Actually thought short week for the Seahawks.
Maybe there's a little bit of RUSS, but I moved
off of it. Plus that total was low enough that
it didn't necessarily scream up points of palooza. But I'll
give you one, Mike. You mentioned that the Ravens Bengals
with that forty nine and a half, Cardinals Niners also

(36:53):
around that number as well. Your plays in your Ninjas
in hot plays reflect did a little bit of what
I thought. My points of p Losa is Colts Jaguars. Okay,
I think that we've seen what Indianapolis can do last week.
I understand Anthony Richardson went out, but still we're able

(37:13):
to put some points up against the Steelers. We expect Jacksonville.
I expect them to finally at least look like a
football team, or the football team they were in the
first half against Miami. I don't think they're going to
put up a performance like they did against Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
They're home.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
The Colts have troubles in Jacksonville, but I just don't
see a lot of resistance from either side.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
So Colts Jaguars is my points of Poloza.

Speaker 5 (37:39):
Oh I like it, Yes, let's go. Yeah waiting.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
I mean you talk about hard luck losses, bad losses,
fourth quarter fails man, that's all Jacksonville Jackville Jaguars football
in twenty four. Yeah, seriously, near misses, opportunities. The ETN
fumble might go down as the play at the start
of the twenty twenty four yearbook, Here's where it all

(38:05):
went wrong.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
Or they'll just play the first half. That's no You
can do that too.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Yeah, it's all. That's all the good news that you have.
But I like Colts Jaguars. I'll tell you. I'm gonna
go along with the Eden's play of the Seahawks defense.
Seahawks will be my Survivor pick of the week. Okay,
things do get a little bit more difficult for them
as well. Shorter week for the Seahawks because of the
Monday night game, but at least they're home. Giants with
the longer trip and again without Molik neighbors, I just

(38:33):
I don't know how the Giants get it done with
the passing game. So we're gonna go with the Seahawks's
the Survivor pick and the Oasis play of the week
each week on I Want Your Flex In honor of
the Oasis reunion, I am taking an Oasis song and
correlating it to a player this week. And what better

(38:53):
way to do it. Then let's go across the pond.
Now we're not in Manchester, but you are playing in
London and it's gonna be a morning game. So the
song is what's the story? Morning Glory? And I think
Aaron Rodgers has a little morning glory.

Speaker 5 (39:08):
Let's go three.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
Touchdown passes for Aaron Rodgers against the Minnesota Vikings. I
think the Jets actually go to London and beat Minnesota.
Tough spot for Minnesota to have this enormous victory against
Green Bay on the road, and now you've got to
travel across the ocean. Jets have now something to play
for after losing to the Broncos last week. I like
the Jets in this spot. And I'll tell you what.

(39:31):
If anybody can figure out what Brian Flores is doing
on defense, it's going to be Aaron Rodgers. So I
like Rogers throwing three touchdowns in my what's the story
morning glory glory play, considering that game is going to
be on in the morning here in the States.

Speaker 5 (39:45):
I dig that.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
No, that's that's good. That is a and I like
the boldness of the proclamation. Sure, but if he throws
three touchdowns, that means Devanta Adams not coming.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Fair enough, fair enough. I'd like to see DeVonta Adams
of the Saints. You know, why not just keep the
best friends together, right, I just bring him to the Jets.

Speaker 5 (40:08):
The Jets.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
The Jets, Well, like we had this big debate, and
I'm sure you guys did mid Days Dean, you know,
with Doug Gottlieb this week, just kind of talking about
all right for the Saints is cool? Right, you have Shaheed,
you have a lave, you have Kamara playing at a
high level.

Speaker 5 (40:23):
And we watched the explosiveness the first couple of weeks. Okay,
cool story.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
Team that was whatever a seven, seven and a half
was their their win total, and they jump out and
so this would be you know, kicking the pants and
Derek Carr and he get along with the Jets. If
they don't get him and he goes and he plays
even remotely, well, it could all burn down. Yeah, if
they struggle, right, because I asked, you know, the because

(40:51):
I'm a jerk, can.

Speaker 5 (40:52):
He play offensive line?

Speaker 3 (40:54):
Because I think that's more important than getting another receiver.
So Aaron Rodgers isn't going one one thousand and two
balls out.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
And then then we're gonna find more reasons to say
Garrett Wilson isn't a great receiver.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
You know, we talked about him in the pot earlier.
This week.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
You bring in DeVonta Adams and even less of an opportunity,
but hey, again wants the wins.

Speaker 5 (41:12):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
Unfortunately, poor Garrett also has been matched up against the
best cornerbacks in football.

Speaker 5 (41:18):
The last couple of weeks. I've been thinking it might
help him.

Speaker 7 (41:20):
It would help him.

Speaker 6 (41:21):
Now you get the number two not drawing the number
one every single week because he's clearly not, you know,
able to deal with that regularly.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Maybe you think Rogers is gonna look away from his guys.
Are you crazy? He's just gonna throw DeVonta. AMA's gonna
have nineteen targets.

Speaker 4 (41:36):
Nineteen to get the other.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
They might as well trade Garrett Wilson on the way back. Hey,
by the way, by the next time we talk after
Monday night football, we will we'll know whether Dance secured
Oasis tickets.

Speaker 4 (41:52):
Oh it's that. I'll tell you what I'm not going to.

Speaker 5 (41:55):
I'm saying, you know, Friday morning.

Speaker 4 (41:58):
Is that what it is?

Speaker 5 (41:59):
Jeez?

Speaker 4 (41:59):
You know I didn't.

Speaker 5 (42:00):
Actually Pacific time.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
Going to a concert is such a foreign concept with
a three year old, it doesn't even register.

Speaker 4 (42:09):
I've I've even like thought of.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Games and trying to do stuff and trying to get away,
and I'm like, hot's just not gonna happen. My wife
said to me, Yeah, we should take him to we
should take him to a, you know, a game. At
some point, I'm like, it's gotta be a couple of
years older. He's got to at least understand what's going
on on the court. So still a little ways from that,
but yeah, who knows. Any stranger things have happened, all right, guys.
One other final note, since we talked about uniforms, the

(42:35):
Falcons wore their throwbacks on Thursday night. We started with
the Falcons, let's end with the Falcons. One of the
things that annoys me so much is when you watch
the Falcons wear these throwbacks, which I love with the
red helmet, but you'll notice, guys, on the stripe there's gold.

Speaker 4 (42:51):
Do you ever notice that on the on the helmet?
Strike Ian? Have you noticed that?

Speaker 7 (42:54):
I actually hadn't noticed it, but I'm gonna look for
it now.

Speaker 4 (42:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
So, the reason why the Falcons have gold on their
stripe they didn't in the nineteen eighties. They took it off.
But when the Falcons first came into the NFL, they
were trying to appeal to their collegiate fan base. So
their colors are at the time were of the Georgia
Bulldogs and Georgia Tech, so they combined the red, and

(43:18):
they combined the gold, and that is why there is
gold trim there on the Falcons helmets that they wore
when they came into the league. I believe at some
point the late nineteen sixties. That is why you're seeing
the gold. In the days that Mike and I remember
of the nineteen eighties and Steve Bartkowski and Gerald Blakes,
there was no gold whatsoever. But when the Falcons wear

(43:40):
these throwbacks, that is why they have gold.

Speaker 4 (43:42):
You know.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
I just found a petition on change dot Org Arthur
Blank needs to bring the gold, the color gold back
to the Falcons. On the petition started in twenty eighteen
by a man named Daniel Hargis h Hargus.

Speaker 4 (43:57):
He needs to bring the gray back.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
That's what I want to see, those gray pants that
they had that the Barkowski wore.

Speaker 4 (44:04):
Yes, I keep on just going back to.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Steve Barkowski and Gerald Riggs, but those are the two
Bill Fralick.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
Yeah, offensive one of the all time greats w W
E legend as well.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
That was the that was the that was the real
look of the Atlanta Falcons that I like. I don't
mind the two legiti quit ones, but the red with
the gray. They they were something special. All right, there,
it is your uniform information for week five. All right,
that's it. We're gonna put a bow on this. We're
gonna wrap it up and hope that this gift to
you is full of surprises and fantasy wins in week five.

(44:41):
For Ian Roddy, who is gonna be up early watching
the Jets, and Mike Carmen's gonna be up anyway talking
about football and watching the Jets. I'm Dan Beyer and
I'll probably be a bed for the first quarter. This
has been I want your flex.

Speaker 4 (44:54):
We'll talk to you next week.
