Speaker 3 (01:12):
Got to watch all of that today, went and got lunch,
maybe took a watch dog or hey, let's watch all
the time. But dead Watch class A have to come
on for a five out save that didn't go quite
as smooth.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
But that's the thing because my wife's whole family, you know, Detroit, Yeah,
and so you know which Detroit had a little bit
of a day today.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
But the Tigers it was all I mean, it's just
they're they're just pins and needles and it's constant texting.
But I'm like, I'm okay because I don't have to

We're gonna play. It's okay, I got they got nothing
but time, man, I'm great. These the days are just
yawning by between now and Sunday.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
It's so great. Oh, today was such a great day.
But most importantly, very really wanted to catch up on
all the TV.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
No, that's key, yeah, I mean here you get into
another football weekend.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I mean, come on, man, right, I had a good
bad bad Monkey was the finale, and From had a
huge episode of From and Only Murders, which the plot is.
Now I don't even care about the plot anymore. It's
just so incredibly funny with the with the stunt casting
this year that they on the.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Last episode I entertaining. I don't even know what the
plot is anymore, doesn't it doesn't matter more. Eugene Levy, Yeah,
oh yeah, yeah, I don't even care anymore. Here's Melissa McCarthy.
Let's bring back Meryl Street. All is good and right
with the world.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
And then we got football and baseball, so college soccer
and the Lakers. So here we are Major League Baseball
Yankees right now, bottom of the seventh inning. They lead
the Royals three to one. The benches emptied last inning
after a rough play at second base, Garcia going into
second on a double play and Volti comes in.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
And makes the tag.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Uh because uh because it was a step on first
throw to second tag the runner double play and Volpi
goes in makes the tag and then with his right
arm kind of haymakers Garcia and then the Yankees the
ones that get all checked. People hate the Yankees like
this is this is Volpei goes in with his off
arm like like as a haymaker to and and and

(03:38):
he gets up and patt and Garcia on the shoulder,
and then Garrett Cole comes over. Garrett Cole so look
like the guy going, oh, you want to fight, hold
me back?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
When me back? You want to fight? Come on, hold
me back?

Speaker 1 (03:46):
You want to well you know there's no there's no
poss he's gotta come on, you want to fight, And
they're tell go back to the Do you wonder why
people hate the Yankees? The Yankees completely made that situation happen,
and the Royals honestly had a lot of clas Garcia.
I don't know how he just walked off the field, right,
I don't know how because what what you know? I
know you hit me and then your patting me on
the back. Where to escort me off?

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Come on. But I don't know what your hands on
what boy says after that, because it's not about what
he says. It's about but he did it, but it
looked like for a moment like he was trying to
say something to him, right, and then they kept chirping.
I don't know if he said sorry about the follow
through whatever.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Bopy was apologized. He would have done it to his face,
but instead he pats him on the back as he
walks off.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Come on, man, you know what I mean. Immediately in
the aftermath, like when they're on the base, blankety blanket.
I don't know what he says. He thought he'd remedied
the situation, although the little dive over the top with
the forearm shiver, yeah, maybe a bit much.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
I mean the Yankees there, that's a team. They're fake
tough guys like that, that whole thing. Fake tough guys
like that, that's what that is. That's not like Padres
tough guys.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
I think a winker. Let me meet you in the
parking lot situation.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yeah maybe maybe me Shott in Temecula or any of
the past. And I want it, want to fight you
moments with Andres, fake tough guys. Now, I think they
would actually fight. No, I don't think they're fake. I
think I think they would all actually.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
They're all fake. No, I think I think because I
think Tatis to one of them go back down.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Are you kidding to tease and be the guy at
the beginning of the anchorman throwing the trident like that got.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Ken Rosenthal beating them in a fight? All right?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
He would, he would nypnotize them with his bow tie,
choke them out with him like it's a geek.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
It actually spins and it's like a blade. So the
Yankees now go into the eighth inning.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
They are six outs away from the Alcs, the fake
tough guy New York Yankees. Meanwhile, early in the day, yes,
we're getting Game five in the Alds between the Tigers
and the Guardians. And let me just say and look
watching these Tigers Guardians games, but specifically watching the Tigers
the last last couple of weeks, like this is playoff

(05:56):
baseball that you and I remember as kids, where every
game is nothing nothing or one to one. Every run
is like drawing and there's like drawing a pint of
blood and it's and this is baseball what it was
like when we were growing up, and that's kind of
what this is. There's not a lot of errors, there's
not a lot of base hits. The pitching is fantastic,
and when you have guys like school Ball and the

(06:17):
two best bullpens in the American League, Yeah, these are
fun games. And the and the Guardians pull out a
huge win today, which is fantastic. They get to go
home for game five. Congratulations, your prize is schooble. So
that's great, great news. Whoever comes out of the a
the other alds because now School's only gonna pitch two games.
Maybe he's a game three guy, game seven, but you're

(06:38):
don't have to worry about school in game one and
coming back on short rest. So whoever wins this game tonight,
they're the big winners. But congratulations Cleveland, your prize is
schoobl in game five.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Yeah, huge w there obviously, as we we wait decisions
for tomorrow with the Dodgers and Padres. But on the
al side, I mean, yeah, the Tigers. It's it's thrilling,
but it's not. Does that make sense? Because everything's a grind,
So when there there is something that happens, it's a
it's a big push right the it look like they're

(07:08):
being shut down. Then you get the mckinstreet home run.
I was like, all right, we're back in it. All right,
now we've got life once again because it had gotten
awful quiet. That was a a moment that that lives
on and then you end up getting a fantastic finish
as it wore. But yeah, schooble waiting in the wings,
you set up your rotations and all of that stuff. Yeah,

(07:30):
it's it's a pain in the neck, but it's great
for us. That's great. Theater good.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
It's like the team that wins the you know, the
eight to nine game in college band the tournament, Like, hey,
we're able to outlast them by two points, what a
great win. Oh yeah, you get Duke.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
You know, you get the number one team, they're favored
by twenty seven. You get Houston, you know you get
oh great, great, Yeah, that's great. But hey, you succeed
and pro seed, you advance to the next thing. You
get another chance and hopefully whoever is on the other side.
And let's face it, pitching is the thing that we
don't really have in great supply on any of these squads.
I mean, you got one or two guys here and there. Yeah,

(08:06):
you got a bullpen that you can trust in a
couple of situations and for a few teams. But otherwise
it's a hey, let's just turn it on, grab a
beer and watch it unfold. Life from the Tireck dot
Com Studios Jason Smith Mike Carbon will keep you updated
on the Yankees and the Royals throughout the night. Of course, again,
Yankee's going for the clincher tonight. Wow, copa Tarzan hat
trick doesn't even get in the opening. No, it doesn't

(08:28):
get in the open. No it doesn't. I mean Steve
disrespected it too. It didn't even make us update. He'll
get it in. Worry about it, he'll get it in.
Got that, you got a w NBA Finals game, A
lot of stuff, and somebody want to tell Jannis it's
preseason goodness.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
We got all well, the Lakers who were so happy
to be going to Milwaukee for this game.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
We don't get on everybody. I know, I know Lebron
was ready to take out the officials. He complained about
having to make the trip. I mean, all of those things.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
But Thursday Night Football, seven minutes ago, in the third quarter,
and this is a game that seems closer than it is.
The forty nine Ers lead the Seahawks twenty three to ten.
The Seahawks have had one play tonight, and I no, no,
I mean they have had one play tonight, and it
was Leviska Chanol's kickoff return for a touchdown following a
forty nine Ers score. And that's been it. They have

(09:15):
not been able to run the football. They've not really
been able to throw the football. The Seahawks have looked terrible.
And the forty nine Ers they got the scare with
Jordan Mason going out of the game early, but he.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Comes back into the game. For all the.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Concern and the issues with the forty nine ers, and
oh my goodness, look at them, how are they two
and three? They beat the Jets. They might just hang
on a second. What we're seeing tonight is the typical
response to a team that thought, oh, we've been together
for a couple of years, we can just pick up
and start the season, when our left tackle hasn't really

(09:51):
played and we're missing the best running back in the NFL.
You know, because as good as Jordan Mason has been,
doesn't give you what Christian McCaffrey does. Doesn't open things
up in the zone as much as McCaffrey does. Oh yeah,
our best receiver who decides to sign right before the
season begins. The Niners just found out the hard way
that oh, we can't just pick things up and go right.
You actually need some time to get going and get

(10:13):
into the season. And clearly the first weekendst the Jets. Look,
the Jets offense was absolutely abysmal. And I see, when
you have to fire a head coach five games in,
you know you're not great. But seeing the forty nine
ers struggle, I'm not worried. I'm not worried because I
watched them play a game like this, and this is
simply Hey, we have to get back to basics. We
have to focus, and we have to make sure that

(10:35):
we're doing everything we need that we're used to maintain
our level of excellence. And you're gonna need a month
or so when all your guys, your big guys, are
signing late, you don't have time to play, and your
best player doesn't get to play. There's always a bit
of adjustment period with things like that happening. You can't
just because everybody's been together. You can't just pick it
up and go. So that's all this is is that
this is a team that's gone so far the last

(10:56):
few years. The beginning of the season sometimes it can
be a bit of a slog And while there probably
was a bit of concern watching the forty nine ers
play tonight, but the Seahawks aren't great.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
They're a good team. They're not great.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
They're coming back, they're coming back to earth a little
bit now. But seeing them play tonight, I feel confident
they're getting back to where they were.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
And it was just ay.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Some teams, when you play that deep every year, the
beginning of the season can get a little difficult for you.
And that's all I've really seen so far. I mean
everything else with the forty nine ers, it's absolutely fine.
I mean, the Seahawks are resplendent in these Curt Warner
era these I mean these yea the less because you
know me, they're they they when they wear the neon Yeah,
that's the worst, that neon green.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
That's the you know, your highlighter on his street.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
You know, I almost would rather watch a baseball team
bunt than to see them in the Yeah you were,
That's how bad.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Those uniforms are. It's a highly important bunt.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Yeah, now, a big squeeze. But today yeah great, but no,
I was angry. I'd rather see a team bunt than
have to see the Seahawks highlighter uniform.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Okay, good h the Enix these are coming this Thursday night.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
But no way, do you gotta explain the millennials that
Kurt Warner is not Kurt Warner, the quarterback with a
sea Wow.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
You have to explain that. We gotta go, you go,
expl you gotta explain it. Kurt Warner is. He's not
just an announcer and a guy who does silly skits
on Sunday Morning football.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
You might have to explain to Jen Xers who the
original Kurt Warner was.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
And that's the guy we're talking about.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Yeah, we're really going teeth all right. Never mind their
old uniforms look cool.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yes, there you go. Because I can't bring out a
Jim's Orner, it's Steve Largin or anything. But Steve Largent
was in Congress for a while. People still know his okay,
and he's brought up anytime there's any kind of accomplishment
by a Seahawks player because he holds so many records,
there's no question, but watching the forty nine ers, it
is the the long slug. As much as we say

(12:44):
there's only seventeen games, there's seventeen games, and how many
teams are going to run away and hide? You got
a who's great. We've asked this question a lot, right,
you got a couple of undefeated teams, but are they great?
Do you believe in your in your vikings the Chiefs,
I believe as long as fifteen is upright, they'll be

(13:05):
there and they'll have a say in the end in
the AFC. But when we look at the forty nine ers,
you're getting healthy, getting right. Changing up how you have
to call plays because Mason is not McCaffrey. McCaffrey doesn't
take up the defensive attention that I should say, Mason
doesn't take up the defensive attention that McCaffrey did, So
you've got to change that up. You've had injuries to

(13:25):
Debo and to Kittle. Trent Williams is the one solid,
great component of the evaluation of that offensive one was
everybody else is a little bit above average, but once
you put him back in, they're all great. And Rock
Purty has made a couple of really big plays tonight.
Shall it doesn't make it, but you get the big

(13:47):
kickoff return Chenault And now the Seahawks are driving trying
to make it interesting here at the back end of
the third quarter. But all of that to say that
you don't have to race out to a five and
zero record. This is a division game. Go win this game. Yeah,
Like last week they were one of six in the
red zone. They were terrible. They lost their kicker, Moody,

(14:08):
so they had to sign a guy off the street,
and he's come on and he's kicked well for them tonight.
But the red zone inefficiencies came back and bit them
last week in a narrow loss to Arizona. They come
right back and they're putting a shellacking on the Seahawks
up until this.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Drive Seahawks about to go in. They could somehow turn
this game into a one score game. Again, it doesn't
make sense. It makes absolutely zero sense that the Seahawks
can tie this game up here or can get within
a score here as they are driving on San Francisco again.
But hey, as Chris Berman would say, but that's why
they play the games, right, Like the old Berman where

(14:46):
he would he'd sit here and go the Jets and
the forty nine ers. The forty nine Ers are fifteen
to zero. The Jets are won and fourteen. The Jets
have scored three touchdowns this month. Steve Young threw three
touchdowns last week. That's why they play the games, right,
because whenever he would do that, you knew it was
a close game.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Right.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
This wasn't gonna be a Niners beat the Jets thirty five,
for you always do. But that's why they played the
games years man exit exit, how about a Fresco exit
swollen dome. One of the Seahawks players is throwing up
on the sideline as they get ready for second in goal.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Not sure who it was. I don't know at least
look clear. Yeah it was. Well it's gotta be if
you if you, if you're throwing up heavy, you know,
maybe maybe you went ahead and nice, but you have
postave well before you started.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
At passive with the vodka sauce. It should not have
had the shrimp and the chicken headed in idea.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
This is not good. This is not good.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Uh So we're live at the tirec dot Com Studios
managing staff for your supply chain is complex. Let Express
employment professionals provide the workforce you need. With Express you
can lower contingent labor costs and reduce turnover. Go to
expresspros dot com to find a location near you that
is expresspros dot com. Kenneth Walker is in the end
zone making a twenty three to sixteen game extra point bending.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
This makes no sense, but that's what the National Football
League three and a half is the spread, by the way,
and just to got to put it out there. We'll
have more in this. We have a big day in
the NFL.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
And coming up next after today, the star studded team
that needs to be broken up and broken up right away.
That's next right here, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
It is The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon, Live from the tire Ron dot Com Studios.
Game one of a WNBA Finals in overtime, Courtney Williams,
It's got twenty one. Minnesota leaves New York ninety one
point eighty nine a minute left to go, And I

(17:02):
gotta think that maybe there was a better time to
schedule game one than opposite Thursday night football.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
How about after football season and the Yankees.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
I mean no, I think you could have gone Friday
Sunday with that. If you go one Friday, you could
have gone Friday Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
No Friday's Hawaiian shirt Day. Oh and next Friday.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
But like, you want a lot of eyeballs, And I'm like, really,
you know, you know, Thursday night football is here. You
have a big night of Major you got the Yankees
are playing too. You have a big night of Major
League Baseball. You have you know, you have your the
biggest stars are still playing. It's a great series, even
without Caitlin Clark. You saw that the Semis had great television.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Fantastic.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Yeah, it was regret that that Vegas series was fantastic
and there was so much drama to it.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
It was so much fun. When you saw they added
to the drama today, right, you saw them, Hey, congratulations,
it's Game one of the finals. We're not there, but uh,
Kendas Parker, come on here here.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
I mean just looked down watching Kelsey plumb get dressed
down on the sidelines about making buds, like, oh.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
It was so much fun.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
But I'm like, you know where you want eyeballs, right,
So I mean like it's pretty easy to get. Well, yeah,
Thursday night football, so yeah, that's fifteen million people watching that.
Then you have baseball and that's a few billion people
watching those games. Again, how about we play Friday night?
How we play Friday night and Saturday night?

Speaker 3 (18:21):
All right?

Speaker 1 (18:21):
When and they're not going up against big time college
football yet they're all during the day. Okay, you play
Friday night, Saturday night and then and then you figure
it out from there.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
I get it, because Sundays in mon they're just too
hard to play. Can I Can I ask you a
question though? Did you have to help your dad find
the Yankees game today? Because you know why? True TV,
True TV, true to Uh no, my dad.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
My dad was very excited today, and he was very
excited when because you know, my dad is feelings about
Jim Carlos Stanton.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
He hates him. He hates it.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Even after last night, Like I texted him today he said, hey,
good luck. He's like great because he texted me good
luck every day with the Mets and I texted by,
and you know, Stanton gets the big hit to bring
it the third run, right, you know, being the third right,
go hey.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Stan coming through again? He goes right, he writes back.
It's a start. Nothing he ever does would be good.
Nothing is good enough. The kids still trying dead. Look
what I did, that's my start. I just became a doctor.
Does your dad have hate for Costas too? Uh no, no, no, no,

(19:24):
well yeah, not the hate.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Well no, there's other guys he used to really hate
and they're no longer with us.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
So does anybody watching that series right now? I just
can't stand Costas? Yeah? Well, I mean people watch with
they've got the TV turned all the way down here.
You get pink eye from listening to it. That's part
of the Halloweens.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
You know, Frostburg farted on Jay's pillows. So there's not
gonna be able to No, no, my no. There's a
couple of guys my dad didn't like listening to. But
there's no reason to bring them because you know they're
no longer with this. I mean, you can, I not,
but I don't want to. I don't just how about
it up. I don't want to bring up guys who
have done.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
But maybe for other people it would be an opportunity
to celebrate their memory.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
No, I want people doing. Here's people my dad didn't
like and they're dead. No, I'm not gonna do it. No,
it's not gonna happen. Uh but yo, No, but no,
he has a real dislike for Stanton. I mean just
and no matter what likes Lo told, he judges this guy.
He loves Chisholm, like like.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Is he an old guy? Especially after that?

Speaker 1 (20:19):
No, not really, it's like well because ye, no, because
every shortstop is compared to Jeter, so it doesn't matter, right,
You know, I could say, you know, hey, why about Lindor.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
Yeah, he's not bad. What do you mean he's not bad?

Speaker 1 (20:32):
We're talking about he's a best shortstop in baseball?

Speaker 3 (20:34):
What are you talking about? Derek Jeter is not walking
through that. Of course Derek Jeters shouldn't have been the
short stop. He's not bad during that period. Jeter his
favorite Yankee all time. Oh it's Louisiana Lightning. My dad's
favorite Yankee of all I just want to Martinez guy. No, No, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
No no, no, my dad's no, my dad's hurt Yankee
of all time is Reggie because that was when the
back to back World Series and the seventh Like, no,
my dad's favorite, yeah all time was Reggie.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
Okay easy, that was like one hundred years.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Does he have any cases when he was when he
was young, like Mantle was his guy too, because my
dad was born in forty six, so I mean he's
still when he was young, got to see Mantle and
Maris and you know, Mantle was his guy.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
He loved Thurman Munson, you know like that, like the
Munson was the the everyman, but Reggie was.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
The seventy seven seventy eight series. Like Reggie could do
no wrong ever for anything, doesn't matter. Reggie could come
and say, Walt, I'm stealing your car. Okay, hey look
Reggie Jackson stealing my car.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, Reggie, Reggie. My dad used to pick fights with guys.
They'd get into baseball, you know, classic baseball, and we'd
be asking the question and he'd know what their favorites were,
so he'd just go Clemente like, he'd do a Clemente
bit and then sometimes it would just he'd really go
in hard with stats on Willie Mays. Oh it's just

(21:54):
the Yankee fan at the table off.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
H So we'll keep you update on the games going
on again. Early fourth quarter Niners and Seahawks. Niners have
the twenty three seventeen leads. Seahawks have the ball. This
game defies logic how the Seahawks are within a score.
But after today, I am one hund positive that the
Philly should be broken up and all the All Stars
get rid of them, really get rid of.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
When the When the fans and the media are more.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Upset about the Phillies losing to the Mets than the
players are, it's time.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
It's time for change. But isn't that usually the case?
Here's why. First of all, for whose gasters, they might
have add some bonuses for the coverages or extra trips
that they had planned.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
It's not really about the It's not really about the
fans and the media as much as about the players.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
But let's do the fun part first. Yeah, so, you know,
some members of.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
The media made some headlines today, all the rants about
the Phillies losing to Mets, and boy, it's so much
fun watching the Phillies lose to the Mets. Oh, by
the way, Citizens Bank is now a spirit Halloween. So
you can get your Halloween gear in Philly. I get
the cost cost you get the Cat's Fast movie.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Uh, and get a Grimas costume too. You get great.
I was gonna make the Getty one too gritty. Yeah. Uh,
so you have that.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
And then you have this woman who I've seen this
now twenty times and I laugh every single time.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
Local news in Philadelphia last night, did one of those
men on the street, Hey, how are Phillies fans dealing
with the loss? And uh here was a woman that
they started their package off with who went to went
went out to a bar to watch the Phillies. I
just say she wasn't happy with how the game went down.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
So there's a couple of low points in my life.
I passing a line.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
And I'm gonna have a Grand Slam.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
The Grand Slams took the King Courtney O'Neil. There we go,
Corney O'Neil.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
There you guys say, my dog dying and them getting
a Glendor's Grand Slam An the Patricks two works moments
of my life.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Now I'm not gonna be you know, I dismissed the
passing at the dog Now Lindor's home.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Run has jumped ahead of the dog, but she wasn't
a kid. So if those are the two events in
your life, you've had a pretty good run thus far,
haven't you.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Like, if you're at that point and it's it's the dog,
and look, we all love our dogs, we all love
our pets, there's no question about it. But if it's
that in a lyting door home run, you've lived a
pretty charmed life.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Of course you have.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Of course you look at I'm I used to be
that kind of fan where I would think stuff like
that and be.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Like, you still have your moment now, but now I'm
a little bit older.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
And if you think that was a little bit of
effect for the camera, no no, no, no, no no. Courtney
wanted to make sure that she she is on board
with me because I say everybody in the Philly should
be gone, and and she kind of agrees. And I
want everyone.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
At the Bartender's gone.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
I want to Spinity gone. I want.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
It's not the best friend, like Spinity is the bar
she's at. She wants the bar gone, she wants the
bartenders gone. I want my best friend gone. I want
everybody gone.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Did she get double charged. I want everybody gone. Did
she think she had free drinks or something? She knows
that's not good for the Economy's terrible. I go to
the local account.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
She just wants them to be replaced short people. No, no,
she just wants she doesn't want them to be friend. Well,
she gets a new best friend. This is what losing
to the Mets does to I know, it's amazing, isn't it.
Like it's so fun seeing Philadelphia just completely melt down.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
I feel like we should go to Philadelphia and just
do men on the street interviews. So the next week, great,
it is still burning inside you. But here's why I
take a look at it again.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Here's what you break up the Phillies and all they're
all stars right because to a man, all the stuff
they have said in the last twenty four hours, I wonder,
do you understand where you are? Do you understand that
you're not getting closer to the world series? You understand
what just happened to you?

Speaker 3 (25:37):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Like when I see Rob Thompson, the manager, say, you
know what they played?

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Well they beat us in a short series. Oh I'm sorry,
was this a.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
Special year where you have to play a short series
to move on to the Oh no, that's how you
do it in baseball.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
You have to win the LDS to get there.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Like, oh, they beat us in a short series, like
this was a fluke and that's not on the schedule anymore, right,
Trey Turner said, ah, you know, hey, we got to
full find a way.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
I hope they bring us all back. We'll find a
way to get it done. Next year.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
You'll find a way, Like you've had a bunch of
time and you'll find a way. They're dismissing this loss
like they're dismissing the loss and and what it means
and the big failure they had. Matt Strom, who had
a huge failure out of the bullpen? What did he say?
Pretty accurate? Said, hey, you want to come in hot.
We ran into a flaming ball of fire. Yeah you did,
but a good line. You were still the bet.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
I like that line. But you were still team.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
I mean, you you have two two All stars starting pitchers,
you have two All star relievers. I mean, and you're
treating this like, yeah, hey, what what are we gonna do?
We're shrugging our shoulders getting ready for next year, But
what are you gonna do you're gonna sit and cry
about it.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
It's you know, you want to say, hey, how much
fire and vitriol? Could you? You know what, I'm really
pissed off.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
I want that great run and they game and stook
it away and you you're asking me that question.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
I'm offended by question.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
But that's not what they said. They were all like,
there's nothing gonna do. There's a lot you can do,
but there's a deal with when you come off a
loss like that and it's so bad and your reaction
is yeah, that sucked.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Okay, done, I'm done. I'm done done with you because
you want him to have one of those teezers in
the pocket thing a.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Little bit for I don't want you to be so
flippant about it and go like, yeah that's tough.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Well see you next year.
All right, thanks a lot.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
You played poorly, and all it was was them shrugging
this off, like, yeah, I hope everybody comes back next year.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
We're gonna bring it back. You saw what just.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
Happen, right, You just got knocked out of the playoffs.
You just got knocked out. And still here's Nick Constagano's
one of the two Phillies that had a really good series.
Him and Bryce Harper listen to Constagano's talk about the
series in totality and how he feels like this series
could have gone a different way.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Give them their credit, could beat us. Is there a
lot of things that we could have done better? Yes,
there are things that we could have done different. Yes.
Do I think that they are a better team than
us this series?

Speaker 1 (28:00):
They were Oh no, no, they're not better than you.
They just smoked you. And that you won one game.
You had, you had everything. Let's come down with the smoking.
You won one game, that's fine, but you won with
one swing of but bad you won one.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
It wasn't like you had a congo line going around
and you beat the hell out.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
He won three games. The Mets won three games. They
won one game.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
You got a grand slam out of Windoor that was
one hit.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
That was one one game. And we won another game.
And we won another game, and we beat your best
pitcher that was the top three pitches in Major League Baseball,
won that game, won another game. You started an all
star pitcher, beat your two all star relievers who came in,
beat them around the ballpark.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
The entire time was funned like anything. If you have
a bad week, you have a bad week. Dude, it's
a bad couple of games. But but you're not gonna
cry into a micro. It's not about going into the offseason.
Do you want a guy with its violin behind you?
I want you? You take it seriously?

Speaker 1 (28:53):
But how was that not taking Consteano's That was taking
it seriously? You come in and tell me, hey, Jase,
what what happened? I just my car got stolen? What
my car was stolen? I don't know what happened. I
don't have insurance on it. I don't get it. I
would go, oh my god, dude, you okay, let's make
a phone.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Come.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Didn't you have insurance?

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Or would I just go, yeah, what can you do?
You know the cars get stolen, Hey, let's get ready
for the show. You'd be pissed off at me, like, wait,
how about you please you know, how about a little
bit of empathy for me? How about you act like
you understand that you're not getting closer to the World
Series and this should be a loss that hurts you
a little bit. But instead you're so glib and flippant
with remarks of yeah, Hey, that happened next year. And

(29:33):
I'm not saying and that's why you've never heard the
Paul McCartney song My Brave, my Brain, my brave Face Gone.

Speaker 5 (29:39):
Now.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
I just gave you four big, high profile guys who
shrugged their shoulder and said, yeah, well, hopefully we get
it done next year.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
Oh that's great, that's great.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
At least I saw some some some people that were
pissed off in the media and fananly, I wanted to
see a little bit of a motion. I want to
see a little bit of Hey, we understand the clubhouse
is really quiet. We we were the best team, the
second best team in the league. We think we're the
best team in baseball. We went wire to wire basically
in the National League East, and look what happened to
us here. We need to ask questions, we need to

(30:07):
see what what are we missing? And it says, yeah,
I hope they keep us all together next year. See
you guys, enjoy your summer vacation. See in school in
the fall. Hey, Jimmy, if you guys go camping over
Fourth of July weekend, call me because I'll go right.
My dad is gonna let me bring his he's got
to sleeping bag my Star Wars one and I can sleep.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
It is cool, and I'll be able to bring my
phone in the portable charger and everything. We'll have fun.
But just call it. If not, I'll see you with
the fall, Jimmy. That's that's the Phillies. That where Phillies.
Who were you?

Speaker 1 (30:31):
That's the Phillies, man. I mean it really, it's it's typical.
It's peak Philadelphia. That the fans in the media care
about it more than the players too, that is so great.
But that speech to every every city in America, that
is so great.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Lunatics screaming about it. The players, Hey, we gave it,
are all we lost? Lendor had made the big play,
you said, lunatic screaming about something.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Yeah, that gets us to Steve de Sager, who's gonna
tell us what's in the wide world of sports that's ded.

Speaker 5 (30:58):
There are three main things going on and a lot
of screaming.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
We've got Mets off day.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
Yeah, that's the leads story that's waiting for the lak
Mets off day in the La King.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
So let's just talk about that and forget the other three. Yeah.
San Francisco seems to be in the NFL game tonight.
It seems to be.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
In the process of blowing a double digit lead in
the second half, although with Kyle Shanahan's history, I'm not
sure that's even news at this point. San Francisco leads
at Seattle twenty three seventeen early in the fourth quarter.
By the way, forty nine Ers starting running back Jordan
Mason left with a shoulder injury in the first half,
did return to start the second half, got one carry
and then went to the medical ten as for the

(31:40):
on field greatness for San Francisco, and they did build
a sixteen to nothing lead just before halftime. Deebo Samuel
with a seventy six yard catch and run for a
TD from Brock Purty and George Kittle at a ten
yard touchdown reception early third quarter, tiptoeing by the pylon
to stay in bounds and get the catch and the

(32:00):
But for Seattle, which had very little offense in the
first half, they got Leviska Shechnold's ninety seven yard kickoff
return early third quarter, and Kenneth Walker, who struggled on
the ground, does have a one yard TD run time
out for an injury at the moment eleven, twenty one
to go in the fourth San Francisco holding on twenty
three seventeen at Seattle, San Francisco, by the way, zero

(32:23):
and three in conference already this year, the Jets demoted
offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett Todd downing X to the Titans
will now call plays. Giants wide receiver Malik Neighbors mispractice
again with a concussion. Tampa Bay running back Rashad White
did not practice due to a foot injury. In the
American League Division series at Kansas City, the Yankees are

(32:44):
three outs away from eliminating the Royals. They're about to
start the bottom of the ninth leading three to one
at Casey on three RBI singles, including one from Jimcarlo
Stanton great start from Garrett Coles. Seven innings of work
for the Yankees, and they've had relief for the eighth
and ninth, ready to close it out in a game four.
The other series will have a game five at Cleveland Saturday.

(33:07):
Cleveland stayed alive with its win at Detroit tonight, five
to four, top of the seventh to two run pinch
homer from David Fry, and he also bunted an insurance
run in in the top of the ninth that turned
out to be key, and tomorrow to close out a
best of five National League Divisions Ghost on Fox TV,
it's the Dodgers hosting the padres La. First baseman Freddie

(33:28):
Freeman is due to play despite the bad ankle, but
shortstop Miguel Rojas will not with the groin entry. No
starting pitcher named we Do Know You Darvish is going
tomorrow for San Diego. As for the WNBA Finals, a
completely wacky game one goes in overtime to Minnesota winner
at New York ninety five ninety three. Brianna Stewart of

(33:49):
New York missed a free throw at the end of
regulation and missed a layup at the end of overtime.
She was six of twenty one from the floor. New
York blows an eighteen point lead to lose the opener
of this best of five. Before the game, the league
announces starting next year, the WNBA Finals will be a
best of seven. Rafael Nadal will retire.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
From tennest of nine best of nine the NBA next year.
It's stay tuned.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
All these sports eventually will be that when they see
how much money is to exactly at the gay Yeah,
don't don't speak it into existence. Raphael Nadult will retire
from tennis at the end of this year. And in
the NHL, Boston A six to four winner over Montreal
Utah one in overtime at the Islanders final minutes, Pittsburgh
leads six to three at Detroit's LA A three to

(34:34):
one winner at Buffalo I heard and j copetar with
a hat trick there, Yeah to you.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
I don't know that there's been any confirmation on that though,
I don't know right now.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
The Yankees are two outs away from the Alcs. Coming
up next, we'll have more on that, plus another day,
another big drama and everybody's favorite NFL soap opera.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
That's next. Jason to Mike Fox Sports Radio.

every single day. Well, we're gonna get to a big
football story, which we will in a few minutes now,
because we have a bit of breaking news coming in here.
We now have the second team who was qualified for
the League Championship Series, and as a Mets fan, I'd
like to welcome the second best team in New York
into the League Championship Series.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
The Yankees defeat the Royals three to one. Is your score.
They move on.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
They will await the winner of Game five Saturday between
the Guardians and the Tigers.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
You know you're not, Jason May on Syracuse Radio right like.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
I'm in the club, Robert Sala was checking out these
the door. I'm in the club and I'm yelling out.
I'll get you in if I can. Okay, give me
some time, and now I've found a way. Hey, can
you let my friends the Yankees into the postseason? Big
postseason party here. It's pretty cool. But we're the only
team in here right now. Can you let some other tea?

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (36:19):
Okay, Yankees, come on, come on, come on, don't forget
I did this for you.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
I did this for you. Don't forget I did this,
did this favor you. Know how you just did a
big thing about hey, let's break up the Phillies and
they don't care, and why you should hate the Phillies
and why they're fans in the media.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
This is why people hate the Mets. No, the Mets
love it said by extension. I'm sitting next to you,
so people hate me too. But I get why they
hate every home run they go and they pose with
the Jesus. It's like the Mets, did I get it?

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Shoes were great? Right, if only my feet were less wide,
and I actually gave a damn about the Mets, couldn't.
I mean, I can paint them in another peah, They're
now silver and black. Yeah go why but oh my god,
we lost our one hundred and twenty first game.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
The Yankees are in and again awaiting their opponent, and look,
quite honestly, nothing has changed with what we said about
the Yankees. Following the first round of the playoffs. If
they are not in the World Series, it is shocking
in the disappointment. If they don't make the World Series
this year, they're never gonna go. And it's not that
the Yankees have the best team, but this is a

(37:29):
year where the team that were there kryptonite all went
out in the first round. No Astros they have to
worry about getting by. No Orioles have to worry about
get by. The two teams would give them the most difficulty.
Now it's you have a Tigers team that you're not
gonna face Schooble the first couple of games. You could
win that series basically before you even see them in
the series. And then you have a Guardians team that
is really good. But do you really think you're really

(37:51):
gonna take the Guardians. They're having enough trouble with the
Tigers right now. This is the Yankees year to go,
and if they don't get there, it's a disappointment. The
Mets get all the headlines now because they're fun and
they hit home runs, and look, the Mets are just
a more fun team. But the Yankees are still the Yankees,
and they found a way all year long. Even when
things got a little dicey, things got a little shaky
for them, they still found a way to always write

(38:13):
things and continue to win. And this is the dream
schedule for them.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
We had.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
We had to play the Royals. Okay, goodbye Royals. We
don't have the Astros, we don't have the Orioles. It's
gonna be the Tigers are the Guardians. Yeah, we're ready.
If they're not in, it is a disappointment of epic proportions.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
Well, because you got monster seasons from some unexpected sources.
Did you, even with the money he's being paid, they
aby to expect Rodin to take the ball every fifth
day for a full season? No, no, they did not.
Garret Cole was your starter tonight. So that's the only
negative side, right, And he goes today and then you
got to reset and everything in your rotation. And we've

(38:50):
talked about the Yankees and they're pitching throughout. But it's
not like either the Guardians nor the Tigers are doing
Congo lines around the basis, right. I mean, every every
at bat, every run has been a grind out kind
of experience. So advantage Yankees in the lineup because guess what,
Judge and Stanton at this point are both there.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
Yeah, look and figure and and my my dad's very happy.
I'm sure, I mean, you know, begrudgingly. He'll give Stanton
some flowers game. I don't know, I'll see if he's
a minute, yeah, I'll see what's going on. I don't okay,
clinching games like this. I don't know how he's.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Going to be. So we'll see. How about how about
that will have more fire than that Phillies fan? Oh,
I don't know about that, more happier than the Phillips.
That's what I mean. Though they might still be letting
the exported squad and you got you know, Jazz Chisholm
to take you over the.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
Top exit out bout a Fresco exit swallen down again,
a complete disappointment of biblical proportions. If the Yankees go out,
one big story from Major League Baseball and that big
one from the NFL is next.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Fox Sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
The Jason Smith Show with My Best Friend Mike Harmon
live from Thetirack dot Com studios.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
Nearing its end.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
In Seattle, forty five seconds left to go the forty
nine Ers after Kyle Ust check touchdown and TJ maybe
Ust check my fantasy stats and see how many points
that touchdown was worth. Thirty six twenty four is the lead.
Probably should have had a touchdown on the play before,

(40:43):
as Isaac Grenda was gone for a seventy yard touchdown,
but he decided to slide down.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
He gotta get him the five.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
And when really, with the Seahawks having three timeouts left,
you should try to get in the ends. So instead,
what happened was the next play the forty nine Ers
got in the end zone. So it's a last gas
chance for the Seahawks. Now again, forty seconds left to go.
Gino Smith was just sacked. They are down by twelve.
The forty nine Ers are going to win this game,

(41:10):
and it really it baffles me that this is the
score of the game. The Seahawks played so poorly in
the first half and somehow it was a touchdown game
for a while. In the second half, the forty nine
Ers did everything they were supposed to do.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
They run the football.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Well, they've thrown the football well, defensively, played well, and
somehow this is it. It's like watching a Jets game,
even the games that Jets win. Can't make it easy.
Can like watching Diaz close the ninth in and can't
make it easy. Can't make it easy.

Speaker 3 (41:36):
I think it goes back to talked about it the
struggles they had last week, and they put up thirty
six points, so yeah, they still got there. But the
idea of red zone inefficiency a week ago against Arizona,
that was the story of the first half, right, a
lot of big drives, opportunities and settling for right field goals.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
Look, it's very difficult to reconcile when you dominate that
much across the board and still have to sweat out
a victory. Right, it doesn't make any sense. But this
was the game tonight. But the main thing I'm gonna
tell you, we're gonna have Jay Glazer coming up in
a couple minutes. The forty nine ers look close to

(42:15):
back being the forty nine ers that they were. Right,
we saw a lot of great stuff from them tonight
and mainly for San Francisco. Sometimes you just need a
few weeks you can't just pick up where you left
off when your left tackle shows up five days before
the opening game, when your top receiver shows up a
week and a half before the opening game, when you're
number one running back. It as good as Jordan Mason

(42:37):
has been. Christian McCaffrey does so much in the passing game.
When he gets hurt and misses games early, sometimes eat
a little bit of that and neat a little bit
of mental hurdle to get over because when you're used
to going deep in the playoffs every year into the
super Bowl, sometimes those early season games, eh, you know,
you start out a little slow. That's kind of what's
happened to the forty nine ers. But they're getting healthier,
they're playing better. This was the best game I've seen

(42:59):
them play over the first quarter, outside of the big
blowout win over the Jets the week one. This is
the best game they've played in over a month. But
it's a sexier version of what the Chiefs have been
putting up. Right, Cheeps are undefeated, yeah, But for the
forty nine ers it have been some big splash plays
and obviously Mason becomes a bit of a star. He
gets injured tonight, so we have Guerendo come in and

(43:23):
he goes for one hundred yards, including this seventy six
yard run. So yeah, just rounding into shape after the
first quarter. Now it's time to play football, especially out
of Thursday night against the division opponent.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
It's a final thirty six twenty four.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
The forty nine Ers even their record at three and three,
joining us. Now I'm the hotline no body better NFL
on Fox Insider Extraordinary Jay Glazer. You can find them
on Twitter at Jay Lazer. What's happening, buddy?

Speaker 3 (43:48):
How are you going? God?

Speaker 1 (43:51):
You know, look, we were just talking about this. The
forty nine Ers win. Even though the games was closer
on the scoreboard, they were pretty dominant. I feel like
I have less concern about them now after this game.
Where are you on where the forty nine is are?

Speaker 4 (44:04):
I don't kind of look at the forty nine ers
by a game by game thing early in the season,
no matter what I mean. The White Kyle Santahanaoways hasn't
team ready, especially late this season. Like you know, when
it kind of comes out of crunch time, they're going
to be a team that you don't want to see
on your schedule. So I don't really have a problem.
Plus plus also like so much like look that offense,
it's such a difficult offense to go against when they

(44:27):
have all their weapons. So McCaffrey's still out, is still
going to be out there. They're still kind of you know,
assessing that. But when you have him in, when you
have t bow Inn, when you have Kidd, when you
have all these different guys in there, but you never
know who's lining up. Where such a hard offense to
be aggressive with because you're aggressive with one, but like
you know, you may see people on the field and
you think of the receiver is really a running back.

(44:48):
You know, McCaffrey's lining up, You're like, oh, you think
he's a running back. He's really lining up at HVAC
or he's runing up, you know, lining up live. So
it's so hard and I think that's you know, as
the season goes on and Kyle kind of gets more
and more or on other teams, they're just they're they're
hard to prepare for.

Speaker 3 (45:04):
Obviously, the seventy six yard are from Guerendo puts a
punctuation mark, but Jay, they rushed for over two hundred
yards to night against what was supposed to be a
pretty strong Seattle defense. I know they're banged up and all,
but they owned them.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
Yeah again, for then, this is always a shining a
hand team, right, They're always they're always great. And how
they run the ball, even like before they had McCaffrey,
the Elijah Mitchells on the wall the world and breeds
and stuff like that. You know, it's like they've always
been able to rush well. Because again with Kyle's offense,
you just don't know who load up against you. He's
like he would, he'll have something. I think Brady set
up the game the other day. You'll go out there

(45:38):
and you'll think everything has loaded up for them to
run left, and you're all set up, and all of
a sudden, somehow, you know, as the play charts, all
the power suddenly on the right side. It's completely different
than what you fought when you lined up.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
Jay to get away from this game and obviously the
the the soap opera that has dominated the last few days,
the Jets fire, Robert Salah, Jeff, that's.

Speaker 4 (46:03):
A stable organization.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Yeah, you're kidding, adds.

Speaker 1 (46:07):
As the world turns, it's like trying to walk across
a thin a thin sheet of ice on a lake
in the winter. Uh So they fire Robert Solid, Jeff
Ulbrick is a new head coach. They're still going to
call plays defensively. They replace Nathaniel Hackett as the play
caller today with Todd Downing. Where are you after after
seeing what's going on with the Jets the last few days?

Speaker 3 (46:27):
Where are you on what's going on? Well?

Speaker 4 (46:29):
Here's well, first let's go to Obrick jef Olbrick, whether
he was the head, go to the justice year or
someone else, that is the guy that everybody kind of
looks at this league like that's your defense with Sean
McVay as far as like he's that leader, like it's
man the Battle of Floor, the Raheem Morrison, dan Quinn
like dan Quinn is like he is broomed this guy

(46:52):
to be that next guy for so long and Brick
is the guy out. He played for the fort I
for a long time. I got funny sort for it's
a little bit but forty nine for a long time.
He's a tough dude and like he he's a type
of guy like you want that, you want Jeff bobricks mentality,
you want his attitude. It's gonna be a gang fight
out there for him. So I think he's going to
be head coach for a long time this league, whether

(47:13):
it's with the Jets or somebody else. But look, I
can never figure out what he Johnson. He asked me
to figure out what he Johnson. That's there's nothing I
could ever do. But I think I think that I
think Boll Douglas done a great job person all wise
over there. I think you know a lot of this too,
Like Aaron just doesn't play well. A lot of it
is and the offense just doesn't have any rhythm altile

(47:33):
like there running games should be a lot better than this.
So I do think that, you know, they do need
more of an identity over there. But I also think
like everyone's a successful with Aaron Rodgers, we hadn't played
the year, he didn't play any preseason games. You do
have to get that timing down with you know, your receivers,
which running game or your offensive line. I think they're
struggling to get from that timing down. But I do

(47:54):
still think like personal wise, I think they're a really
good team. And you know, I think even with Sala,
I think they're to come through.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
Does the change make it any more likely that Devontae
Adams walks through the door.

Speaker 4 (48:05):
It has nothing to do with it. One has nothing
to do with the other. I mean, they're looking for
a two plus and teams just aren't willing to give it.
Like Trusty, if the Jets or everybody was gonna give
it two already would have been done. But teams aren't
willing to do that. And that's what happened. I think
Mark Davis wants one thing, and the owners of the
Jets and you know, other owners like now or we
willing to do this, And DM's like, we're just willing

(48:26):
to do this. And that's the thing. If they were,
you know, in the pre seasoms, teams were calling to
try and the forty nine ers you thought to that
was one of the teams called the trying trade Jets.
Obviously they changed three. A bunch of teams calling and
their GM was like, now, I've got to give him,
give him time with Antonio Pierce like I just can't

(48:48):
trade him away. I got to give at a shot.
But you know, coach and I talked to over there saying,
you know, and he I think, You're like, no, we
don't have our quarterback in the future. So he's going
to get frustrated, and we know he's gonna get frustrated,
and you know, obviously that's what's happens.

Speaker 1 (49:03):
The thing that Jay I think of DeVante Adams is
such a game changer.

Speaker 3 (49:06):
He's still so terrific. Okay too, and something else, Okay,
I'm ready for it.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
Okay to what do you want to and something else
like this is getting DeVante Adams. I can't believe that
other teams, he said, Yeah, Sugar, because no.

Speaker 4 (49:19):
Because it's a one year deal. Because the rest of
the contract, that's the thing you don't want to get
like two and something else. That's a lot for a
guy for one year. You don't want to run a
guy for one year and give him a two is
just too valuable. And I know you're look at it
from you know, man, it's about Adams, but not for
just a one year, dude, you gotta no, that's that's
that's the other thing. There's not a lot of teams
that could put him on the cap right now. They

(49:41):
can probably got to redo a deal get him in there.

Speaker 3 (49:46):
Yeah, I'm just thinking about all the teams where maybe
guys are going by the end of the year, I
may not be here, so I don't need to leave
the covered stock.

Speaker 4 (49:54):
Well, that's not the head coaches. The gms will be
there and they're like, I don't want to get.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
Jay Glazer with us, the Jason Smithson with Mike Carmon
live from the tirec dot Com studios. All right, So
I don't know if tonight you're hanging out with Mike Tomlinson,
but we got to get in our requisite Steelers stuff.
With the quarterback situation. Russell Wilson's back at practice. Justin
Fields is still playing well. You talked about how much
the Steelers love him dealing with the George Pickens drama.

Speaker 3 (50:18):
This week?

Speaker 1 (50:19):
Is this is this a is this a a a
winner take all week for Justin Fields? Where if he
has a big week, okay, if not, we're gonna see
Russell Wilson play quarterback.

Speaker 4 (50:28):
I don't. I don't know the answer because I can't
tell you what kind of week here. Here's the thing,
No matter what the Steelers, okay Steelers are not, they're
there and they've told bultous quarterbacks, you're gonna play with
our identity. Our identity is defense and running the ball.
We're gonna grind out, grind job. We're not gonna play
you know, Russell Wilson ball and you know, let Russell cook.
We're not doing that, all right, We're not doing this

(50:49):
same We're not gonna blow him. But out thirty five
to seven? Is that their identity? It's not how they
want to play football. So I can't tell you if
you know, with Justin fields like, you know, like another quarterback,
they're really going to light it up and it's not
really what they're trying to do. But I think they's
just for Justin. They just want him to to be
efficient and you know, make plays with the flags that

(51:11):
they need him to and certainly not turn the ball
over and turns the ball over. But I can see
them making a move. But I don't know that. Again,
that's that's all hypothetical because he doesn't you know, and
he keeps just growing, continue to grow. Like they do
love Justin fielder there. They love him, They love him
over there and they could see him being you know,
a future over there. But there's certain things he's still
got to grow.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
With Jay from one former Bears quarterback to what could
have been as the requisited you know, representative of Chicago
on the network. There's all this Tom Brady talk, you know,
just day after day it's another story, and now you've
got ownership chiming in. How close was this and why
are they taunting me three years later?

Speaker 4 (51:50):
Well, because no one knew about what happened. Was Brady
did a tamp again and he was like, hey, here's
actually how I got the Tampa, which is why Tom
Brady is you're broadcaster. And I don't think he ever
told the story before. He even said that, like Kevin,
I've never said this sport. And what he did was
he put it's pretty interesting. And Tom and I talked
about separately. He had like eighteen criteria and then he

(52:13):
rated them all. I said it was one of three
points for three or five points or something like that,
and then he added them all up for all the
teams that they were like eight teams and the Bears
were right behind. And when he told me the Bears
were actually off. And I believe more than damp I think.
I don't remember what I think, so, but like just
the points that it added up. But no one had

(52:36):
heard Chicago before we knew about the other seas. You
never knew about the Bears, That's why. So yeah, that's
the great thing about having Tom Brady on our team
now is you're gonna hear someff like no one ever
heard anything about nobody. They did a freaking ten point
documentary at that. You know, nobody knows about him.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
I mean I tried to talk it into existence all
those years ago, but they that clearly fell on deaf
heres and I do know.

Speaker 4 (53:03):
Look it was Ryan Taithon and Matt Maggie. We're trying
to get this done, and yeah they were. They were
under the radar, but they were a second, actually, like
a real stealth second, right behind the Buccaneers.

Speaker 3 (53:15):
He's on Twitter at Jay Glazer. That's at Jay Glazer.

Speaker 1 (53:18):
Jay, thanks so much, especially today being World Mental Health Day.

podcast today.

Speaker 3 (53:24):

Speaker 4 (53:26):
Oh? Great, he's a lyricus man. It's great and obviously
with you know, our cover seven just happened him also outspoken.
I was like, man, how do you deal with a
social media hate? Because my feelings get hurt. I don't
know how you deal with this. It's pretty interesting what
he said. But the world Mental Health Day is I
put a close up today and I'm gonna thank you

(53:46):

Speaker 3 (55:06):
Did I did I hear that?

Speaker 4 (55:07):
Right?

Speaker 1 (55:08):
I mean, I love Jeff Albrick, but to think about
that that, let's go what he's got throughout. He is
