is yeah. Let's see who could win and make it
into the LCS. Along with us, Let's catch up on
whatever series that you've been watching. Monkey from Oh yeah,
only murders. Got to watch all of that today, went
and got lunch, maybe took a watch dog. Hey, let's
watch all the time, but dead watch class A have
(01:20):
to come on for a five out save that didn't
go quite as smoothe but that's the thing because my
wife's whole family, you know, Detroit, Yeah, and so you
know which Detroit had a little bit of a day today. Yeah,
but the Tigers it was all's. I mean, it's just
they're they're just pins and needles, and it's constant texting.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
But I'm like, I'm okay.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Because I don't have to worry about did you just
got to sit there like Al Bundy on the couch.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
I'm good, I'm good. What do you need? I'll help.
What do you want me to talk? I'll tell you

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I hope.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
I'm thinking, Oh, boy, Mets Yankees, Met's Tigers, Met's guy.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah, No, I hope you do.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I hope yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
We're gonna play.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
It's okay, I got they got nothing but time. Man.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
I'm great.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
These the days are just yawning by between now and Sunday.
It's so great. Oh, today was such a great day.
But most importantly, very really wanted to catch up on
all the TV. No, that's key, yeah, I mean, whore
you get into another football weekend?
Speaker 1 (02:18):
I mean, come on, man, right, I had a good
bad bad Monkey was the finale, and From had a
huge episode of From and Only Murders, which the plot is.
Now I don't even care about the plot anymore. It's
just so incredibly funny with the with the stunt casting
this year that they've done the last episode. I'm really entertaining.
I don't even know what the plot is anymore. Doesn't
it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
More.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Eugene Levy, Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, I don't even care anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Here's Melissa McCarthy. Let's bring back Meryl Streep. All's good
and right with the world. And then we got football
and baseball, so college soccer and the Lakers. So here
we are majorly baseball Yankees right now, bottom of the
seventh inning. They lead the Royals three to one. The
benches emptied last inning after a rough play at second base,
(03:10):
Garcia going into second on a double play and Voltei comes.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
In and makes the tag.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Uh because uh because it was a step on first
throw to second tag the runner double play and Volpi
goes in, makes the tag and then with his right
arm kind of haymakers Garcia and then the Yankees are
ones that get all checked.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
What people hate the Yankees?
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Like this is this is Volpe goes in with his
off arm like like as a haymaker, and and and
he gets up and patting Garcia on the shoulder. And
then Garrett Cole comes over. Garrett Cole soill look like
the guy going, oh, you want to fight, hold me back?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
When me back? You want to fight? Come on, hold
me back? You want to like well, you know there's
no there's no he's gotta come on. You want to fight,
and they're tel go back to the dog. You wonder
why people hate the Yankees. The Yankees completely made that
situation happen, and the Royals honestly had a lot of class. Garcia,
I don't know how he just walked off the field right.
I don't know how because what what you know? I
know you hit me and then your patting me on
the back. I don't know when to escort me off.
(04:05):
Come on, But but I don't know what her hands
on me.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
What Bolpi says after that, because it knows not.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
About what he says it's about.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
But he did it, but it looked like for a
moment like he was trying to say something to him, right,
and then they kept chirping. I don't know if he
said sorry about the follow through whatever Bopey was apologizing,
he would have done it to his face, but instead
he pats him on the back as he walks off,
like come on, man, you.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Immediately in the aftermath, like when they're on the base,
blankety blank.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I don't know what he says, but clearly he thought he'd.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Remedied the situation. Although the little dive over the top
with the forearm shiver, yeah, maybe a bit much. I
mean the Yankees there, that's a team. They're fake tough
guys like that. That whole thing. Fake tough guys like that,
that's what that is. That's not like Padres tough guys.
I think a winker. Let me meet you in the parking.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Lots of situation. Yeah, maybe maybe.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Me shouting to mech kill or any of the past
and I want it want to fight you moments with
cadres fake tough guys. Now, I think they would actually fight. No,
I don't think they're fake. I think I think they
would all actually.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
They're all fake.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
No, I think I think because I think tis.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
One of them? Back down?
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Are you kidding to tease and be the guy at
the beginning of the anchorman throwing the trident like that.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Guy Ken Rosenthal beating them in the fight?
Speaker 3 (05:24):
All right, he would, he would nypnotize them with his
bow tie, choke them out with him like it's a geek.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
It actually spins, it's like a blade. So the Yankees
now go into the eighth inning, they are six outs
away from the Alcs, the fake tough guy New York Yankees. Meanwhile,
early in the day, yes, we're getting Game five in
the a LDS between the Tigers and the Guardians. And
let me just say, look, watching these Tigers Guardians games,
(05:51):
but specifically watching the Tigers the last the last couple
of weeks, like this is playoff baseball that you and
I remember as kids, where every game is nothing nothing
or one to one. Every run is like drawing, and
there's like drawing a pint of blood and it's and
this is baseball what it was like when we were
growing up, and that's kind of what this is. There's
not a lot of errors, there's not a lot of
(06:11):
base hits. The pitching is fantastic, and when you have
guys like school Ball and the two best bullpens in
the American League. Yeah, these are fun games. And the
and the Guardians pull out a huge win today, which
is fantastic. They get to go home for Game five. Congratulations,
your prize is Schooble. So that's great, great news whoever
comes out of the ale the other Alds, because now
(06:32):
Schoobl's only gonna pitch two games. Maybe he's a game
three guy Game seven, but you don't have to worry
about schoobl in game one and coming back on short rest.
So whoever wins this game tonight, they're the big winners.
But congratulations Cleveland, your prize is Schooble in game five.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yeah, huge w there obviously, as we wait decisions for
tomorrow with the Dodgers and Padres. But on the al side,
I mean, yeah, the Tigers. It's it's thrilling, but it's not.
Does that make sense, because everything's a grind, So when
there there is something that happens. It's a it's a
big push right the it look like they're being shut down.
(07:08):
Then you get the mckinstryt home run. I was like,
all right, we're back in it. All right, now we've
got life once again because it had gotten awful quiet.
That was a a moment that that lives on and
then you end up getting a fantastic finish as it wore.
But yeah, schoogle waiting in the wings, you set up
your rotations and all of that stuff.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah, it's it's a pain in the neck, but it's
great for us. That's great. Theaters good fat It's like
the team that wins the you know, the eight to
nine game in college in the tournament, like, hey, we're
able to outlast them by two points, what a great win.
Oh yeah, you get Duke.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
You know, you get the number one team, they're favored
by twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
You get Houston, you know you get oh great, great, Yeah,
that's great up.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
But hey, you succeed and bro Seed, you will advance
to the next thing. You get another chance and hopefully
whoever is on the other side. And let's face it,
pitching is the thing that we don't really have in
great supply on any of these squads. I mean, you
got one or two guys here and there. Yeah, you
got a bullpen that you can trust in a couple
of situations and for a few teams. But otherwise it's say, hey,
(08:12):
let's just turn it on, grab a beer and watch
it unfold. Live from the Tireck dot Com studios, Jason
Smith Mike Harmon will keep you updated on the Yankees
and the Royals throughout the night.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Of course, again, Yankee's going for the clincher tonight.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Wow, copa Tarzan hat trick doesn't even get in the opening.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
No, it doesn't get in the open. No, it doesn't mean.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Steve disrespected it too. It didn't even make us up
to it.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
He'll get it in. Storry about it, he'll get it in.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Got that, you got a w NBA Finals game.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
A lot of stuff, and somebody want to tell Yannis
it's preseason. My goodness.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
We got well the Lakers who were so happy to
be going to Milwaukee for this game. We don't get
on everybody.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
I know, I know Lebron was ready to take out
the officials. He complained about having to make the trip.
I mean all of those things.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
But Thursday Night Football seven minutes ago in the third quarter,
and this is a game that seems closer than it is.
Then lead the Seahawks twenty three to ten. The Seahawks
have had one play tonight, and I no, no, I
mean they have had one play tonight, and it was
Leviska Chanol's kickoff return for a touchdown following a forty
nine Ers score. And that's been it.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
They have not been able to run the football, They've
not really been able to throw the football.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
The Seahawks have looked terrible. And the forty nine Ers
they got the scare with Jordan Mason going out of
the game early, but he comes back into the game.
For all the concern and the issues with the forty
nine ers, and oh my goodness, look at them. How
are they two and three? They beat the Jets. They
might just hang on a second. What we're seeing tonight
(09:39):
is the typical response to a team that thought, oh,
we've been together for a couple of years, we can
just pick up and start the season, when our left
tackle hasn't really played and we're missing the best running
back in the NFL. You know, because as good as
Jordan Mason has been doesn't give you what Christian McCaffrey does,
doesn't open things up in the red zone as much
(09:59):
as mcay does. Oh yeah, our best receiver who decides
to sign right before the season begins. The Niners just
found out the hard way that oh, we can't just
pick things up and go right. You actually need some
time to get going and get into the season. And
clearly the first weekendst the Jets look, the Jets offense
was absolutely abysmal. And I see, when you have to
fire a head coach five games in, you know you're
(10:20):
not great. But seeing the forty nine ers struggle, I'm
not worried. I'm not worried because I watched them play
a game like this, and this is simply hey, we
have to get back to basics. We have to focus,
and we have to make sure that we're doing everything
we need that we're used to to maintain our level
of excellence. And you're gonna need a month or so
when all your guys, your big guys, are signing late,
(10:42):
you don't have time to play, and your best player
doesn't get to play. There's always a bit of adjustment
period with things like that. Happening. You can't just because
everybody's been together. You can't just pick it up and go.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
So that's all this is is that this is a
team that's gone so far the last few years. The
beginning of the season sometimes it can be a.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Bit of a slog and while they're probably was a
bit of concern watching the forty nine ers play tonight.
The Seahawks aren't great. They're a good team, they're not great.
They're coming back, they're coming back to earth a little
bit now. But seeing them play tonight, I feel confident
they're getting back to where they were and it was
just a some teams, when you play that deep every year,
the beginning of the season can get a little difficult
(11:18):
for you. And that's all I've really seen so far.
I mean everything else with the forty nine ers, it's
absolutely fine.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
No, I mean, the Seahawks are resplendent in these Kurt
Warner era. These I mean the less because you know me,
they're they they when they wear the neon yeah, that's
the worst, that neon green.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
That's the you don't like your highlight or on history,
you know. I almost would rather watch a baseball team
bunt than to see them in the Yeah, that's how
bad those uniforms are. It was a highly important bunt.
Yeah no, and a big squeeze. But today yeah great,
but no angry. I'd rather see a team bunt than
have to see the Seahawks highlight or uniform. Okay, good
(11:55):
h the Enix the Thursday Night. But you gotta explain
a millennial that Kurt Warner is not Kurt Warner, the quarterback,
Kurt with a sea.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
You have to explain that. We gotta go for you
gotta explain.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
You gotta explain it.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Kurt Warner is.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
He's not just an announcer and a guy who does
silly skits on Sunday Morning football.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
You might have to explain to gen xers who the
original Kurt Warner was. And that's the guy we're talking about. Yeah,
we're really going teeth all right. Never mind their old
uniforms look cool. Yes, there you go. Because I can't
bring out a Jim's Orner.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
It's Steve Largin or anything.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
But now, Steve Largent was in Congress for a while.
People still know his.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Way, okay, and he's brought up anytime there's any kind
of accomplishment by a Seahawks player because he holds so
many records, there's no question, but watching the forty nine ers,
it is the.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
The long slug.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
As much as we say there's only seventeen games, there's
seventeen games, and how many teams are going to run
away and hide? You got a who's great? We've asked
this question a lot, right, you got a couple of
undefeated teams, but are they great? Do you believe in
your in your vikings the Chiefs, I believe as long
as fifteen is upright, they'll be there and they'll have
(13:05):
a say in the end in the AFC. But when
we look at the forty nine ers, you're getting healthy,
getting right. Changing up how you have to call plays
because Mason is not McCaffrey. McCaffrey doesn't take up the
defensive attention that I should say. Mason doesn't take up
the defensive attention that McCaffrey did, So you've got to
change that up. You've had injuries to Debo and to Kittle.
(13:27):
Trent Williams is the one solid, great component of the
evaluation of that offensive line was everybody else is a
little bit above average. But once you put him back in.
They're all great, and Rock Purty has made a couple
of really big plays tonight. This game should not it
doesn't make it, but you get the big kickoff return
(13:47):
Chenault and now that the Seahawks are driving trying to
make it interesting here at the back end of the
third quarter. But all of that to say that you
don't have to race out to a five and zero record.
This is a division game.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Go win this game.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Yeah, Like last week they were one of six in
the red zone. They were terrible. They lost their kicker, Moody,
so they had to sign a guy off the street
and he's come on and he's kicked well for them tonight.
But the red zone inefficiencies came back and bit them
last week in a narrow loss to Arizona. They come
right back and they're putting a shellacking on the Seahawks
(14:23):
up until this drive.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Seahawks about to go in. They could somehow turn this
game into a one score game. Again, it doesn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
It makes absolutely zero sense that the Seahawks can tie
this game up here or can get within a score
here as they are driving on San Francisco again.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
But hey, as Chris Burmer would say, but that's why
they play the games.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Right, like the old Berman where he would he'd sit
here and go the Jets and the forty nine ers.
The forty nine Ers are fifteen to zero. The Jets
are one and fourteen. The Jets have scored three touchdowns
this month. Steve Young threw three touchdowns last week. But
that's why they played the games right, because whenever he
would do that, you knew it was a close game. Right,
(15:05):
This wasn't gonna be a Niners be the Jets thirty
five for you always do. But that's why they played
the games.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Twenty five years man exit exit, how about a Fresco
exit swollen dome. One of the Seahawks players is throwing
up on the sideline as they get ready for second
in goal. Not sure who it was. I don't know
at least look clear. Yeah it was, Well it's gotta
be if you if you, if.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
You're throwing up head, you know, maybe maybe you went
and ahead a nice would you have pasta for well
before you started at positive with the vodka sauce. It
should not have had the shrimp and the chicken headed in.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Maybe this is not good. This is not good.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Uh So We're live from the Tirec dot com Studios.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Managing staff for your supply chain is complex. Let Express
Employment professionals provide the workforce you need. With Express you

is expresspros dot Com. Kenneth Walker in the end zone
making a twenty three to sixteen game extra point bending.
This makes no sense, but that's what.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
The National Football League three and a half is the spread,
by the way, just to God to put it out there.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
We'll have more in this. We have a big day
in the NFL and coming up next after today, the
star studded team that needs to be broken up and
broken up right away. That's next right here, Jason and
Mike Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
It is The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. Love from the Tyroun dot com Studios. Game
one of the WNBA Finals in overtime Courtney Williams. It's
got twenty one Minnesota leaves New York ninety one point
eighty nine a minute left to go. And I gotta
(17:02):
think that maybe there was a better time to schedule
game one than opposite Thursday night football.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
How about after football season and the Yankees. I mean no,
I think you could have gone Friday Sunday with that.
If you go one Friday, you could have gone Friday
Saturday night.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
No, Friday's Hawaiian Shirt Day.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
You oh, and next Friday, But like you want a
lot of eyeballs, And I'm like, really, you know, you know,
Thursday night football is here. You have a big night
of Major you got the Yankees are playing too. You
have a big night of Major League Baseball. You have
you know, you have your the biggest stars are still playing.
It's a great series, even without Caitlin Clark. You saw
(17:40):
that the Semis had great television, fantastic. Yeah, it was
regret that that Vegas series was fantastic and there was
so much drama to it. It was so much fun.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
When you saw they added to the drama today, right,
you saw, Hey, congratulations, it's Game one of the finals.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
We're not there, but uh, Kandas Parker come on in here.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
I mean just looked down watching Kelsey Plumb get dressed
down on the sidelines about making buds, like, oh, it was.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
So much fun. But I'm like, you know where you
want eyeballs? Right, So I mean like it's pretty easy.
Got well, yeah, Thursday night football, so yeah, that's fifteen
million people watching that. Then you have baseball and that's
a few billion people watching those games. Again, how about
we play Friday night? How we play Friday night and
Saturday night? All right? When and they're not going up
against big time college football yet they're all during the day. Okay,
(18:25):
you play Friday night, Saturday night and then and then
you figure it out from there. I get it, because
Sundays in mon they're just too hard to play.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Can I can I ask you a question though? Did
you have to help your dad find the Yankees game today?
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Because you know why? True TV, True TV, true to.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Uh No, my dad was very excited today, and he
was very excited when cause you know, my.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Dad is feelings about gim Carlos Stanton.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
He hates him.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
He hates it even after last night, Like I texted
him today, he said, hey, good luck He's like great
because he text me good luck every day with the Mets,
and I texted day and you know, Stanton gets the
big hit to bring in the third run, right, you know,
being the third Right, go hey, Stan coming through again?
He goes right, he writes back, it's a start. Nothing
(19:09):
he ever does would be good. Nothing is good enough.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
The kids still trying dead.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Look what I did, that's a start. I just became
a doctor.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Does your dad have hate for Costas too?
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Uh no, no, no, no, well yeah, not the hate.
Well no, there's other guys he used to really hate
and they're no longer with us.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
So because anybody watching that series right now, I just
can't stand Costas.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
Yeah, well, I mean people watch with they've got the
TV turned all the way down here.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
You get pink guy from listening to it.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
That's part of the Halloweens.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
You know, Frostburg farted on Jay's pillows. So there's not
gonna be able to say no, no, no. There's a
couple other guys my dad didn't like listening to, but
there's no reason to bring them because you know they're
no longer with this.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
I mean you can, I not, but I don't want
to I don't just how about it bring up I
don't want to bring up guys who have done but.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Maybe for other people it would be an opportunity to
celebrate their memory.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
No, I want people to here's people my dad didn't
like and they're dead. No, I'm not gonna do it. No,
it's not gonna happen. Uh but yo, No, but no.
He has a real dislike for Stanton. I mean just
and no matter what, like he missed a lot of gas.
He told you Judges, this guy he loves Chisholm, like,
like is.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
He a guy especially?
Speaker 1 (20:18):
No, not really, it's like, well because last year, because
every shortstop is compared to Jeter, so it doesn't matter, right,
you know, I could say, you know, hey, why about Lindor. Yeah,
he's not bad.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
What do you mean he's not bad?
Speaker 3 (20:31):
We're talking about he's the best short stop in baseball.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Derek Jeter is not walking through that. Of course, Derek
Jeters shouldn't have been the short stop. He's not bad
during that period. Jeter his favorite Yankee all time. Oh
it's Louisiana Lightning's Ron Gidry.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
My dad's favorite Yankee of all I just wanted to Martinez. Guy.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
No no, no, no, no no no no no, my dad's no.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
My dad's hurt Yankee of all time is Reggie because
that was when the back to back World Series and
the like.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
No, my dad's favorite, yeah all time was Reggie. Okay easy,
that was like one hundred years. Does he have any
cases when he was when he was young, like Mantle
was his guy too, because my dad was born in
forty six, so I mean he's still when he was young,
got to see Mantle and Maris and you know, Mantle
was his guy.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
He loved Thurman Munson, you know like that, like Mundson
was the the everyman, but Reggie was the seventy seven
seventy eight series. Like Reggie could do no wrong ever
for anything, doesn't matter. Reggie could come and say, Walt,
I'm stealing your car. Okay, hey look Reggie Jackson stealing
my car. Yeah, Reggie, Reggie.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
My dad used to pick fights with guys. They'd get
into baseball, you know, classic baseball, and we'd be asking
the question and he'd know what their favorites were, so
he'd just go Clemente like he'd do a Clemente bit
and then sometimes it would just he'd really go in
hard with stats on Willie Mays. Oh, it's just the
Yankee fan at the table off. So we'll keep you
(21:58):
update on the games going on again, early fourth quarter
Niners and Seahawks. Niners have the twenty three seventeen lead.
Seahawks have the ball. This game defies logic how the
Seahawks are within a score. But after today, I am
one hundred positive that the Philly should be broken up
and all the All Stars get rid of them, really
get rid of.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
When the When the fans and the media are more
upset about the Phillies losing to the Mets than the
players are, it's time. It's time for change. But isn't
that usually the case? Here's why. First of all, for whose.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Casters, they might have had some bonuses for the coverages
or extra trips that they had planned. It's not really
about the It's not really about the fans and the
media as much as about the players.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
But let's do the fun part first. Yeah, so you know,
some members of the media made some headlines today, all
the rants about the Phillies losing to Mets, and boy,
it's so much fun watching the Phillies lose to the Mets. Oh,
by the way, Citizens Bank is now a spirit Halloweens.
You can get your Halloween game in Philly. I get
the cost you get the Captain.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
I don't know, that's a fast movie. Uh, and get
a Grimace costume too.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
You get great.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
I was gonna make one to Gritty.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Yeah. Uh so you have that. And then you have
this woman who I've seen this now twenty times and
I laugh every single time.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
Local news in Philadelphia last night, did one of those
men on the street, Hey, how are Phillies fans dealing
with the loss? And uh here was a woman that
they started their package off with who went to went
went out to a bar to watch the Phillies. I
just say she wasn't happy with how the game went down.
So there's a couple of low points in my life.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
My dog passing a line and.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
I'm gonna have a Grand Slam, the Grand Slams of
the Kate Courtney O'Neil.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
Here we go, Courney, O'Neil. There you guys say, my
dog dying and them getting a Lindor's Grand Slam an
the Patricks two works moments of my.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Now I'm not gonna be you know, I dismissed the
passing of the dog.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Now Lindor's home.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Run has jumped ahead of the dog, but she wasn't
a kid. So if those are the two events in
your life, you've had had a pretty good run thus far,
haven't you? You know what I mean? Like, if you're
at that point and it's it's the dog, and look,
we all love our dogs, we all love our pets,
there's no question about it. But if it's that in
a Lyndor home run, you've lived a pretty charmed life.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Of course you have. Of course you have. Look at
I'm Philadelphia. I used to be that kind of fan
where I would think stuff like that and be like,
you still have your moment now, but now I'm a
little bit older. And if you think that was a
little bit of effect for the camera, no no, no, no,
no no. Courtney wanted to make sure that she she
is on board with me because I say everybody in
the Philly should be gone, and and she kind of agrees.
(24:36):
And I want everyone the Bartender's gone. I want to
Spinity gone.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Gone.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
It's just not the best friend e. Sfinity is the
bar She's at She wants the bar gone. She wants
the bartenders gone. I want my best friend gone. I
want everybody gone.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Did she get double charged?
Speaker 1 (24:51):
I want everybody gone.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Did she think she had free drinks or something? She
knows that's not good for the Economy's terrible when I
go to the local account. So she just wants him
to be repl selfish, short people. No, No, she just
wants she doesn't want them friend. Well, she gets a
new best friend. This is what losing the Mets does
to I know, it's amazing, isn't it, Like it's so
fun seeing Philadelphia just completely melt down.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
I feel like we.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Should go to Philadelphia and just meet do men on
the street interviews. So the next week, great, it is
still burning inside you. But here's why I take a
look at it again.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Here's why you break up the Phillies and all they're
all stars right because to a man, all the stuff
they have said in the last twenty four hours, I wonder,
do you understand where you are? Do you understand that
you're not getting closer to the World series? You understand
what just happened to you? Guys? Like when I see
Rob Thompson, the manager say you know what they played, Well,
(25:41):
they beat us in a short series. Oh I'm sorry.
Was this a special year where you have to play
a short series to move on to the Oh no,
that's how you do it in baseball. You have to
win the LDS to get there. Like, oh, they beat
us in a short series, like this was a fluke
and that's not on the schedule anymore, right, Trey Turner said, ah,
you know, hey, we got a full find a way.
I hope they bring us all back. We'll find a
way to get it done next year. You'll find a way,
(26:01):
Like you've had a bunch of time and you'll find
a way. They're dismissing this loss like they're dismissing the
loss and and what it means and the big failure
they had. Matt Strom, who had a huge failure out
of the bullpen? What did he say? Pretty accurate? Said, Hey,
you want to come in hot. We ran into a
flaming ball of fire. Yeah you did, but a good line.
You were still the bet. I'd like that line, but
you were still I mean, you have two two All
(26:24):
stars starting pitchers, you have two All star relievers, I mean,
and you're treating this like yeah, hey, what what are
we gonna do? We're shrugging our shoulders, getting ready for
next year. But what are you gonna do?
Speaker 3 (26:33):
You're gonna sit and cry about it. It's you know,
you want to say, hey, how much fire and vitriol?
Could you?
Speaker 2 (26:39):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (26:40):
I'm really pissed off.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
I want that we had a great run and they
game and stook it away, and you you're asking me
that question.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
I'm offended question.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
But that's not what they said. They were all like,
there's nothing gonna do. There's a lot you can do,
there's nothing to do now, but there's a deal. When
you come off a law like that and it's so
bad and your reaction is yeah, that sucked. Okay, done,
I'm done. I'm done done with you because you.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Want him to have one of those teasers in the
pocket thing.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Where I don't want you to be so flippant about
it and go like yeah that's tough. Yeah, yeah, well
I don't know. Well see you next year. All right,
thanks a lot.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
You played poorly, And all it was was them shrugging
this off, like yeah, I hope everybody comes back next year.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
We're going to bring it back.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
You saw what just happen, right, You just got knocked
out of the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
You just got knocked out. And still here's Nick Constagano's
one of the two Phillies that had a really good series.
Him and Bryce Harper. Listen to Constagano's talk about the
series in totality and how he feels like this series
could have gone a different way. Give them their credit,
could beat us.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
Is there a lot of things that we could.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Have done better?
Speaker 4 (27:49):
Yes, there are things that we could have done different.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Yes. Do I think that they are a better team
than us with this series? And they were? Oh no, no,
they're not better than you. They just smoked you. And
that you won one game. You had, you had everything.
Let's come down with the smoking. You won one game,
that's fine, but but you won with one swing. But
bad you won one.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
It wasn't like you had a Congo line going around
and you beat the hell out.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
He won three games. The Mets won three games. They
won one game. You got a grand Slam out of
Windoor that was on one hit. That was one one game,
And we won another game, and we won another game,
and we beat Your best pitcher was the top three
pitchers in Major League baseball won that game, won another game.
You started, an all star pitcher beat you two all
star relievers who came in, beat them around the ballpark.
The entire time was funned like anything. If you have
(28:39):
a bad week, you have a bad week.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
It's a bad couple of games.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
But but you're not gonna cry into a micro It's
not about going into the offseason.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Do you want a guy with a violin behind you?
I want you You take it seriously? But how was
that not taking Consteanis that was taking it seriously? You
come in and tell me, hey, Jase, what what happened?
I just my car got stolen? What my car was stolen?
I don't know what happened. I don't have insurance on it.
I don't get it. I would go, oh my god, dude,
you okay, let's make a phone.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
Come.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Didn't you have insurance, your dope?
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Or would I just go, yeah, what can you do?
You know the cars get stolen? Hey, let's get ready
for the show. You'd be pissed off at me, like, wait,
how about you please you know, how about a little
bit of empathy for me? How about you act like
you understand that you're not getting closer to the World Series,
and this should be a loss that hurts you a
little bit, but instead you're so glib and flippant with
remarks of yeah, hey, that happened next year, and I'm
(29:33):
not saying and that's why you've.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Never heard the Paul McCartney song My Brave, my brain,
my brave face gone. Now.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
I just gave you four big, high profile guys who
shrugged their shoulder and said, yeah, but hopefully we get
it done next year. Oh that's great, that's great. At
least I saw some some some people that were pissed
off in the media and family. I wanted to see
a little bit of a motion. I want to see
a little bit of Hey, we understand the clubhouse is
really quiet. We we were the best team, the second
best team in the league. We think we're the best
(29:59):
team in base We went wire to wire basically in
the National League East, and look what happened to us here.
We need to ask questions, we need to see what
what are we missing? And it says, yeah, I hope
they keep us all together next year. See you guys,
enjoy your summer vacation. See in school in the fall.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
Hey, Jimmy, if you guys go camping over Fourth of
July weekend, call me because I'll go right.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
My dad is gonna let me.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Bring his He's got to be sleeping bag my Star
Wars one and I can sleep.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
It is cool, and I'll be able to bring my
phone in the portable charger and everything. We'll have fun.
But just call it. If not, I'll see you with
the fall. Jimmy, that's that's the Phillies. That where Phillies.
Who were you?
Speaker 3 (30:30):
That's the Phillies, man. I mean it really, it's it's typical.
It's peak Philadelphia. That the fans in the media care
about it more than the players do.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
That is so great.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
But that speaks to every every city in America is
so great. Lunatics screaming about it. The players, Hey, we
gave it, are all we lost? Lendor had made the big.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Play, you said, lunatic screaming about something.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Yeah, that gets us to Steve de Sager, Who's gonna
tell us what's in the wide world of sports.
Speaker 6 (30:56):
That's d There are three main things going on and
a lot of screen.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
We've got Mets off Day. Yeah, that's the lead story.
Speaker 5 (31:04):
Mets waiting for the forget Mets off day in the
La King, So let's just talk about that and forget
the other three. Yeah, San Francisco seems to be in
the NFL game tonight.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
It seems to be in.
Speaker 6 (31:17):
The process of blowing a double digit lead in the
second half, although with Kyle Shanahan's history, I'm not sure
that's even news at this point. San Francisco leads at
Seattle twenty three seventeen early in the fourth quarter. By
the way, forty nine Ers starting running back Jordan Mason
left with a shoulder injury in the first half, did
return to start the second half, got one carry and
then went to the medical ten as for the on
(31:40):
field greatness for San Francisco, and they did build a
sixteen to nothing lead just before halftime. Deebo Samuel with
a seventy six yard catch and run for a TD
from Brock Purty and George Kittle at a ten yard
touchdown reception early third quarter, tiptoeing by the pylon to
stay in bounds and get the catch and the score.
But for Seattle, which had very little offense in the
(32:02):
first half, they got Leviisca Chenolds ninety seven yard kickoff
return early third quarter, and Kenneth Walker, who struggled on
the ground, does have a one yard TD run time
out for an injury at the moment eleven twenty one
to go in the fourth San Francisco holding on twenty
three seventeen at Seattle, San Francisco by the way zero
to three in conference already this year, the Jets demoted
(32:26):
offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Todd Downing X of the Titans
will now call plays. Giants wide receiver Maleik Neighbors mispractice
again with a concussion. Tampa Bay running back Rashad White
did not practice due to a foot injury. In the
American League Division series at Kansas City, the Yankees are
three outs away from.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Eliminating the Royals.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
They're about to start the bottom of the ninth leading
three to one at case on three RBI singles, including
one from Jimcarlo Stanton. Great start from Garrett Coles, seven
innings of work for the Yankees, and they've had relievers
for the eighth The Ninths ready to close it out
in a game four. The other series will have a
game five at Cleveland Saturday. Cleveland stayed alive with its
(33:08):
win at Detroit tonight five to four, top of the
seventh to two run pinch homer from David Fry, and
he also bunted an insurance run in in the top
of the ninth that turned out to be key, and
tomorrow to close out a best of five National League
Divisions Ghost on Fox TV, it's the Dodgers hosting the
padres La. First baseman Freddie Freeman is due to play
(33:28):
despite the bad ankle, but shortstop Miguel Rojas will not
with the groin entry. No starting pitcher named we Do
Know You Darvish is going tomorrow for San Diego. As
for the WNBA Finals, a completely wacky game one goes
in overtime to Minnesota winner at New York ninety five
ninety three. Brianna Stewart of New York missed a free
(33:49):
throw at the end of regulation and missed a layup
at the end of overtime. She was six of twenty
one from the floor. New York blows an eighteen point
lead to lose the opener of this best of five.
Before the game, the league announces starting next year, the
WNBA Finals will be a best of seven. Rafael Nadal
will retire.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
From tennis of nine best of nine MBA next year.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
It's stay tuned.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
All these sports eventually will be that when they see
how much money is to exactly at the gay Yeah,
don't don't speak it into existence. Raphaeld Nadal will retire
from tennis at the end of this year. And in
the NHL, Boston a six to four winner over Montreal
Utah one in overtime at the Islanders final minutes, Pittsburgh
leads six to three at Detroit's LA A three to
(34:33):
one winner at Buffalo. I heard and Jay Copetar with
a hat trick there, Yeah to you.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
I don't know that there's been any confirmation on that though,
I don't know right now. The Yankees are two outs
away from the Alcs. Coming up next, we'll have more
on that, plus another day, another big drama and everybody's
favorite NFL soap opera. That's next. Jason to Mike Fox

content out for you every single day. Well, we're gonna
get to a big football story, which we will in
a few minutes now, because we have a bit of
a breaking news coming in here. We now have the
second team who is qualified for the League Championship Series.
And as a Mets fan, I'd like to welcome the
second best team in New York into the League Championship Series.
The Yankees defeat the Royals three to one.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Is your score.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
They move on. They will await the winner of Game
five Saturday between the Guardians and the Tigers.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
You know you're not, Jason Mason on Syracuse Radio right like.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
I'm in the club, Robert Salas checking out these of
the door. I'm in the club and I'm yelling out.
I'll get you in if I can okay, give me
some time, and now I've found a way. Hey, can
you let my friends the Yankees into the postseason? Big
postseason party here? It's pretty cool, but we're the only
team in here right now. Can you let some other tea? Yeah? Okay, Yankees,
come on here, come on, come on. Don't forget I
(36:23):
did this for you. I did this for you. Don't
forget I did this, did this favor you.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
Know how you just did a big thing about Hey,
let's break up the Phillies and they don't care, and
why you should hate the Phillies and while they're fans
in the media, this is why people hate the Mets.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
No, the Mets love it said by extension. I'm sitting
next to you, so people hate me too.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
But I get why they hate the Every home run
they go and they pose with the Jesus, it's like
the Mets.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Did I get it? Shoes were great, right.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
If only my feet were less wide, And I actually
gave a damn about the Metsun't wait, I can paint
them in another peace. Yah, they're now silver and black. Yeah,
go Whites. But oh my god, we lost our one
hundred and twenty first game.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
The Yankees are in and again awaiting their opponent, and look,
quite honestly, nothing has changed with what we said about
the Yankees following the first round of the playoffs. If
they are not in the World Series, it is shocking
in the disappointment. If they don't make the World Series
this year, they're never gonna go. And it's not that
the Yankees have the best team, but this is a
(37:30):
year where the team that were there kryptonite all went
out in the first round. No Astros they have to
worry about getting by, No Orioles have to worry about
get by. The two teams would give them the most difficulty.
Now it's you have a Tigers team that you're not
gonna face Schooble the first couple of games. You can
win that series basically before you even see them in
the series. And and you have a Guardians team that
is really good. But do you really think you're really
(37:51):
gonna take the Guardians. They're having enough trouble with the
Tigers right now. This is the Yankees year to go,
and if they don't get there, it's a disappointment. The
Mets get all the headline now because they're fun and
they hit home runs, and look, the Mets are just
a more fun team. But the Yankees are still the Yankees,
and they found a way all year long, even when
things got a little dicey, things got a little shaky
for them, they still found a way to always write
(38:13):
things and continue to win. And this is the dream
schedule for them. We had.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
We had to play the Royals. Okay, goodbye Royals. We
don't have the Astros, we don't have the Orioles. It's
going to be the Tigers. Are the Guardians? Yeah, we're ready.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
If they're not in, it is a disappointment of epic proportions.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Well, because you got monster seasons from some unexpected sources.
Did you with the money he's being paid, did theybody
expect Rodin to take the ball every fifth day for
a full season?
Speaker 1 (38:40):
No, no, they did not.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
Garrett Cole was your starter tonight. So that's the only
negative side, right, And he goes today and then you
got to reset and everything, your rotation. And we've talked
about the Yankees and they're pitching throughout. But it's not
like either the Guardians nor the Tigers are doing calm
the lines around the bases, right, I mean, every every
(39:03):
at bat Every run has been a grind out kind
of experience. So advantage Yankees in the lot of because
guess what, Judge and Stanton at this point are both there. Yeah,
look and go figure and and my my dad's very happy.
I'm sure, I mean, you know, begrudgingly. He'll give Stanton
some flowers game. I don't know, I'll see if he's yeah,
(39:24):
I'll see what's going on. I don't okay clinching games
like this, I don't know how.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
He's going to be. So we'll see. How about how
about that? Will he have more fire than that Phillies fan? Oh,
I don't know about that. Be more happier than the Phillies.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
But that's what I mean. Though they might still be
letting the export instly and you got you know, Jazz
Chisholm to take you over the.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Top exit out about a Fresco exit swallen down again,
a complete disappointment of biblical proportions. If the Yankees go out,
one big story from Major League Baseball and that big
one from the NFL is next Fox
