Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lad, you want experience during your football season, well, buckle up,
sweet cheeks. What we've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your flex with Dan Bayer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
To starts and sins.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's catch your flex on. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Here we are in week six.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
Honestly, guys, my ego a little bruised Seahawks at one
point three and zero. Now three and three after that
defeat to the forty nine Ers on Thursday Night, he.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Is Mike Carmon hit him up at Swollen Dome.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
We can find me at Dan Byer on Fox and
I and Roddy, who will be along throughout the show,
you can find on exit the In Roddy underscore, we.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Start with the recap of what happened.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Maybe it gives us an insight looking forward forty nine Ers,
Mike getting dinner and dinner at the running back position.
But Albert Breer had some good news on Christian McCaffrey's
return possibly the near future, but a lot of debo
and a lot of brock Purty and a lot of
forty nine.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Ers on the ground, taking it to the Seahawks on
Thursday night.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, getting closer to where he's eligible to come off
the ir But this is one of those I'll wait
and you believe it when I see it kind of things.
No matter how much Ed McCaffrey tells me that Christian
McCaffrey spends on his body and all of the procedures whatever,
all the internet doctors tell me that it's it's not
a good situation. It's just a when do they want
(01:36):
to test how far his legs will take him? So
in that vein, Guerndo comes in and he's the next
man up, gives a seventy six yard run, all his
teammates rising him. You know, you should have scored. He
kind of did get tripped up. I mean, I guess
he could have fought through and scored, but either way,
he then lost a couple of yards. So he actually
(01:57):
finished with fewer than one hundred and ninety nine on
the ground, but thirty three carries overall. I mean, that's
the tail of the tabe purty, you know, the big
touchdown pass you got a couple of big plays that
account for a lot of the yardage, right the seventy
six yard or to Samuel for the touchdown, making him
the first receiver to have twenty rushing touchdowns and twenty
receiving yards in NFL history. I don't know, I just
(02:20):
like nerdy numbers like that. But for your Seahawks, I mean,
the big, big thing that stood out couldn't run the football.
I mean, Kenneth Walker did get the touchdown to save
people in their fantasy days. You had a couple of
near misses for DK metcalf right the play in the
end zone where his toes out of bounds and then
a penalty taking back another score. So that leaves him
(02:41):
with a three for forty eight, leaving folks wringing their hands.
I did get the Tyler Lockett's score, so I'll spike
the bull, So I'll spike the ball on that one.
But overall, you know, a Thursday night game then gave
us sixty points. So in theory, some happy fantasy owners
out there.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, yeah, you're right about the DK stuff.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
They got to be kind of kicking there, kicking themselves
for the toe and that big play. The three turnovers
that Seattle had as a Seahawks fan, never great to see.
And this running game is something that is just I mean,
we are now two games removed from a night where
Kenneth Walker had three touchdowns and looked great and keeping
(03:22):
that offensive floats against the Detroit Lions in that Monday
night game Mic and then last week hardly touched the ball.
And in this scenario here, it wasn't even like they
were down a lot. They were down sixteen to nothing,
but it was still a two score game and just
couldn't get the running game going, not even two and
a half yards a clip. Disappointing. He's active in the
(03:43):
passing game. He ended up having eight receptions Kenneth Walker did,
but you know, for only thirty seven yards. But yeah,
there's there's an adjustment period as a as a fan.
But I'm also talking as someone who watches football and
have watched it for four or five decades. Now, now
you go into these seasons, Mike, and you don't know
what you're going to get with new faces. And I'm
(04:06):
talking about the coaching staff. Sure, so you have Mike
McDonald come in, you think he's going to have his
imprint on defense, but maybe he doesn't have all of
the pieces that he wants just yet. But there's the
other side of the coin with Ryan Grubb, their offensive coordinator,
who takes the leap from from college into the NFL
and at the start of the year rave reviews for
what was going on. Now completely unbalanced. The offense is
(04:28):
turning it over. I'm not sure how good the offensive
line is. There's some question about who should be played,
who should you should not be playing. There are some
growing pains. I don't think the honeymoon is over yet,
but it got a lot closer to being over on
Thursday night against the forty nine ers, because after a
little while, you're just starting to say, Okay, what's going
on here? When are you a rookie offensive coordinator? When
(04:51):
are you a rookie head coach? And when are you
a first year head coach and first year offensive coordinator?
I need to get these things straightened out.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
No, certainly a lot too that. And you know the
schedule makers as much as they do you no favors
on the back end.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
You and I and our executive producer Ian talking a
bit before we started recording that you know the schedule
is a mess down the stretch. But you know, perhaps
setting up I don't I don't know what expectations were.
I forget what they're over under for wins. Was was
it seven and a.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Half or eight and a half summer? Sounds like that
about right.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
So the fact that you open up with a Broncos
squad that has gotten better, right, but you get a
win there, and then New England and Miami, well we've
seen what Sylmi.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
So like, so you start off three and oh and
and perhaps people get a little chesty, not saying you,
but just people that are watching things, and you know
it is you win a couple of games, and all
of a sudden, everybody's like, well, maybe this is a
special year, and maybe the expectations moose slide along a
little more than than they should have. Now, I like
(06:00):
all the offensive talent that's assembled, So I think there's
the big task right this week, he had add the deal,
or perhaps he cheered as the Jets change head coaches
and you you know, start looking at what the road
is ahead, you know here as you get to this
next part of the season, because the schedule doesn't end
let up now right at Atlanta that's starting to find
(06:24):
their strides. We'll see what they do in week six,
but you know, Buffalo and then by time you play
the Rams, it'll be at home both those games, Buffalo
and the Rams. But by then the Rams and theory
will get back towards full strength, which is something we
haven't seen your Seattle defense for the last couple of weeks.
And I think that that's kind of lost in some
(06:45):
of the analysis because I look the first half, the
fact that the score was what it was, I'm like,
I'll take the win, right. They moved the ball well,
did the forty nine ers and had to settle for
field goals.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yeah, so you're.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Like, all right, one big play and you're right back in,
you know, one drive and suddenly you got a ballgame.
So yes, I think there were some positives to take.
There were a couple of drives and backbreaking interception by
Gino on the one, but overall, yeah, it's it's tough, right,
we judge everything on a week to week basis, and
(07:20):
the last two efforts against you know, the Lions and
Giants ahead of this one, you know, Levia kind of
ring in your hands and wondering what the season becomes,
and you try to go back and look at you know,
August and September of like, all right, what were the
true expectations with a new head coach coming in? And
I think at three and three would probably be realistically
(07:42):
where you should have been.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, yeah, that's fair enough, especially if two would have
been healthy. Probably should have beat the Giants, but didn't,
and not the way that that game played out. But
heading into the game, you're looking at it, or you're
looking at the start of the season, you're saying, Okay,
that should be a game that they should win.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
They didn't.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
But yeah, it's not gonna get any easier. And here's
the great thing about this. All the other national shows
are going to talk about the forty nine ers angle
on this. We did the Seahawks. So thanks guys, thanks
for the therapy session. Oh and George Kittle just continues
to score touchdowns, so he.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Does touchdown man nowadays healthy five fifty eight and two
and like it just a nice reminder or in your case,
not so nice reminded, Dann, but just from a wherever
we do the hierarchies, like when he's healthy, he's a
bad man. Yeah, problem is. You know, he's often used
(08:37):
as a blocker and gets beat up and that's just
part of the game.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
Well, let's get to the rest of Week six. Four
teams on buys. Yes, the Chiefs, Rams, Dolphins, and Vikings
will not be playing this weekend, so you can settle,
sit back, enjoy the action for what we've got in
week six, and sit back and listen to Mike Harmon's
top five quarter for Week six of the NFL season.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Fun week on the grand scale, we got two games
that the over under is sitting over fifty guys. Unfortunately, conversely,
we have three games that are well under forty in
the list as well. But we get things started with
one of the powerhouse games. So that's Lamar Jackson going
up against Washington. Highest ranked fantasy player thus far in
terms of points allowed twenty three or more points and
(09:24):
four of his five games played, Washington tenth most generous
to a posing quarterback. Al the Jalen hurts. He's gonna
get guys back and healthy, and I'm banking on the
defense to get after Deshaun Watson because he doesn't look
like he wants to play football anymore. So get some
injured stars back Cleveland eighth best statistically against the pass.
(09:45):
I hang a giant star on that. That ranking changes
eventually this week. Dak Prescott going up against Detroit. That's
another one of those big games. That's sitting at fifty
two guys, two big games on the year for him
thus far. Trying to round things out Detroit eight ninth
most generous to opposing quarterbacks. Jaden Daniels on the other
side of that Washington Baltimore battle, He's the fourth highest
(10:09):
scorer in fantasy football thus far. Four times he scored
more than twenty points in a game. Yeah, I mean
all right, I should say he's the third highest fantasy scorer,
the Ravens, fourth most generous to quarterbacks. And then finally
Jordan Love against Arizona. They giving up about nineteen fantasy
points per game. He's got games of seventeen, thirty one
(10:31):
and seventeen on the year to help get you towards
the promised line.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
He got the two unbeatens with the week off this week,
but still, as you mentioned, the marquee games that we've
got with the Lions and Cowboys and the Ravens and
Commanders should make things very very interesting. Let's get to
the running backs, your top five running backs Mike for
the upcoming week.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
They get the Ravens are smart. They do everything they
can to just do two step and that means a
lot of Derek Henry. So he's the number. A couple
of thirty point games on the year, a couple at
sixteen to seventeen points. Washington middling against running backs, why
because you can throw on them. But here the equation is,
let's just run, keep our defense off the field, and
(11:13):
take our win and move on. Now, he showed up
on the injury report, but I've got him high here
and we hang a star on it. As b Jon Robinson.
All you fantasy owners that drafted him early, despite my
protestations not too. He's second most generous to running backs
are the Carolina Panthers hamstring injury expected to go as
we record this late on a Thursday night, But you know,
(11:34):
go look out on your waiver wire. It's possible that people,
because the bye weeks and injuries, needed to go and
put all gear back out there. Maybe he's a little
spot play for you as well, because he's gonna see
a workload. Regardless of Bjon's status, Kamara, he's one of
the highest scoring fantasy players thus far this year, going
up against Tampa Bay. They're thirteenth most generous to running back,
(11:57):
given them about twenty points per game. But we know it.
Come makes his hey for you in PPR leagues. He's
a beast sa Kwon Barkley against Cleveland coming out of
the by healthy wide receivers back, good balance for that offense.
And again Cleveland at that point, you know Stefanski Coach
of the Year defending he's six to one to be
the next guy fired. How about that he's the third
(12:19):
favorite behind Peterson and sirianni.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Uh and moving up this week, how about there you go.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Peterson is plus one twenty five Dan okay, and there
you go. And then Josh Jacob's going up against Arazona.
We're looking at an opportunity here, eighth most generous to
opposing running backs, looking for balance and definition in the
force there for Green Bay.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
I know you had some questions about bijon this week.
I think it could be interesting. But here's my tease.
I'll get to that later in the podcast. We go
later in the podcast. All right, let's wrap it up
with your top five wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Mike for Week six, Jamar Chase. Let me at least
if he was a defensive player, perhaps he'd be able
to help the Bengals to a winning record. But you
know a lot he can help fantasy lineups because he's
been an absolute beast because Joe Burrow and he putting
up massive numbers. Why because the defense stinks. That'll continue again.
I look for the Giants to test them and that
(13:18):
means Jamar Chase with another big game. Ceedee Lamb in
that potential shootout against Detroit. AJ Brown welcome back going
up against Cleveland. Malik Nabors also clear from concussion protocol.
On the other side of that game against the Bengals
missed a week. He's still the fourth highest scoring receiver
in fantasy football. Wow, because of the massive, massive target
(13:42):
count and obviously, hey just put the ball in his hands,
so a lot of big receptions. And then Chris Godwin
rounds out our top five sixth wide receiver right now.
Middling pass defense for the Saints and let's face it,
with Spencer Rattler under center, potential for Tampa to get
after it. We know the defense to coordinator likes to
feast on young quarterbacks, so perhaps some advantageous feel position
(14:05):
for the Bucks.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
I will say, just keep your eye on neighbors. I
don't think that they're messing around with him. You know,
it is a Sunday night game, so playing your rosters
if there is a scenario though with him, with that,
with that head situation, because yeah, I don't think that
they want to take any take any chances with the Giants.
You know, I'll just say this. I know that it's
(14:27):
not that appealing. I'm actually kind of looking forward to
Bengals Giants.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
I can't.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Not that I'm me too, not that it's a you know,
get your popcorn ready, but all right, let's see what
we got here, you know, let's let's have some fun.
These these teams have been up around a little mix
here here and there, a little different flavor. I'm usually
sickesting the Giants on primetime games because it's usually against
an NFC East opponent. Opponent, you have a random one
against the Bengals, Sign me up.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
I'm down.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Yeah, random against the Bengals. You're obviously maybe hate watching
them after last week, but I'm curious as to what
that team is, right, because I thought they'd fight and
I don't know what they are right now. I do
know that the Bengals defense stakes. That's the only I
think that's the only part of this equation that we know.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Yep, yep.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
And it's got anice robust forty eight over under, so
it should be some juice.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Absolutely. He is Mike Cardi Harmon. Hit him up at Swallodome.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
You can find me at Dan Byron Fox Ian Roddy
is the executive producer of this podcast. Coming up next.
We love Mike's hot plays, Cold Soares and Ninjas. And
while I teased a possible mention of the Falcons later
on in this pod podcast, don't forget. We got another
London game this weekend, Mike's Bears against the Jaguars, and
(15:46):
it's the first of two for the Jaguars in London.
So you'll have some early lineups to set again this
week and next your hot place, gold Soars and Ninjas
coming up next tier and I want your flex.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
All right.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
You got rankings one through five for the quarterback running
back in wide receiver position. He is Mike Harmon, find
a Matt Swollendome. I'm Dan Bayer. Hit me up at
Dan Byer on Fox. Now, let's get to the players
that may not be in the top five rankings but
you should get in your lineup this week because of
their matchups or maybe who is missing from the actual games.
Mike your hot plays for week six.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Let's get it on. We start in London. Let's go
Caleb Williams. That offense starting to hum ever since that
player's meeting, saying what are we running here? Let's go Waldron.
Let's pick it up DJ Moore as well. Opportunity here,
you're talking about Jacksonville, the worst fantasy defense against quarterbacks,
giving up twenty three points per game. He's getting it.
(16:43):
It's all coming together. It's all happening. Captain Kirk going
up against Carolina six month generous the quarterbacks nineteen points
per game, spreading it around, and then third because I
see him in the consensus rankings. Taking a look at
our fantasy universe, Jared Goff is ranked as a mid two. Now,
that might be because you expect Jamiir Gibbs and David
(17:04):
Montgomery to just run them up, and I do too.
They should be in near lineup, so there's no question
about it. But for golf against Dallas, this is not
the Pittsburgh offense, all right, they can pass the ball,
they can move, move mountains and score points. Again, the
over unders sitting at fifty two for this one. So
Jared Goff gets in Chewba Hubbard seventh highest ranked running
(17:24):
back points score through the first five weeks of the season.
Big opportunity for him going up against the Falcons, you
know outs. And that seventh ranking for him is after
he scored one point four points in week one, So
opportunity for him. Tony Pollard going up against Indianapolis. He's
got a couple of eighteen point performances on the board,
(17:45):
and the Colts the ninth most generous to opposing running
backs coming up here, an opportunity for the Titans. Maybe
that offense takes a step forward. We talked about the
quarterbacks in Baltimore Washington, Well, that means we got to
get a couple of wide receivers in as well. Give
me say Flowers, give me Terry McLaurin, and let's go
and find ourselves and points. And then I have one
(18:07):
more quarterback. I don't know that he's gonna play or
if he's gonna finish. And the over unders thirty seven
but looks like there's an opportunity here with all the
chaos going on in Vegas, that maybe Justin Fields can
give you a little bit of love. You thought I
was gonna say, aid.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
No, I did, Actually I did, but then I realized better.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
But maybe all the hand ringing and chaos with George
Pickens means he's focused for one week.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
And hopefully the EyeBlack is all cleared up.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Maybe, yeah, I mean all of those things. And you know,
he was being asked talking about history like someone's got
to just give him at some lessons.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Man.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
The Cam Hayward stuff about messages and everything else just
kind of crazy. But maybe hero just for one day,
quick five yard slant that he can take to the house.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
I'm surprised he didn't put all of the Ravens tight
end on the Yeah, well geez, I mean, gosh.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Maybe later. Maybe they're all going to be ninjas this week.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Yeah, I mean, I think I think we're all just
pretty much anybody that's going to play in that game.
We get in right with Robinson, We're not sure of
his status on the Washington side. So Austin Eckler gets
a bumped and certainly a must play as a top
twenty four guy. But yeah, to your point, Dan, everybody plays,
everybody wins. I mean, if you got an over under
(19:27):
that high and the tight end position is still such
flux anyway, Yeah, we might as well take our shot
that we find some red zone pay dirt.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Let's get to the cold sours, the opposite side of
this coin, the players that you want to stay away from,
and maybe some popular names that usually you'd think were
no brainers in the lineup but may want to think
twice in week six. Mike your cold source for this week?
Speaker 3 (19:49):
You know me?
Speaker 2 (19:49):
My man crush on Josh Allen goes back long before
Haley Steinfeldt started hanging out with him.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Look up.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yeah, so at the Jets, Jets eight point three fantasy
points allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks, James Cook is
on the injury report the wide receiving room. I don't
know that I trust it right now. Do the Jets
get a bump off of the coaching change? Not sure?
I'm not sure. I want to find out. So this
(20:17):
is one of those rare occasions. Josh Allen for me
is nothing more than a back end one, high end two.
And if I've got another serviceable answer for the quarterback
position on my board. I'm putting them in my lineup
justin Herbert going against Denver. This is the first to
twelve wins. Thirty five and a half is the total
(20:38):
for that one dan Oh Chargers coming out of the
bye week Denver. That defense is for real, as much
as I can still wonder what that offense becomes. I
like the fire in the belly of bo Nicks. I
think there's positives long term, but I can't go there.
They're six best against opposing quarterbacks? Is that defense? And
(20:59):
I think this is one of those grinded out Dick
or the Kicker kind of games. And that's the end
of it.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
I wanted to pick my Oasis song. I've got one
set for a Charger, okay, and I've actually but last
week they heard on a bye. This week they're playing Denver,
and listen the way that the Chargers now play. I
don't know how many opportunities there will be, but I
am waiting for that right opportunity. It's just not this
week with the low as he said over under in
(21:28):
that game, So we are not gonna We're not gonna
play a Charger later On. So I'm with you with
the Broncos and Bolts.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Doing one of those hold hold hold Now, Naji Harris
going against Vegas. Look, they're the seventh most fantasy points
allowed to opposing running backs. But do you trust the
run game? Do you trust Naji Aers right now? By volume,
he's a flex play at best ten or fewer points
scored four times. That's in PPR leagues. Geez, Yeah, Jerome
(21:57):
Ford going up against Philly ten or fewer points scored
three times? No, thank you. Marvin Harrison Junior going up
against Green Bay. I gotta imagine jy R. Alexander's chopping
at the bit to get after him. Olave for me.
With Spencer Rattler, this becomes a dicey prophysician. Yeah, going
(22:17):
up against Tampa. So who do we like? Well, put
him in the Ninjas, but I'll put him here just
to say his name. What about Bason Tipton, a guy
that's been running on the second unit.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
You want to.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Dig deep as you're you know you well, just as
a Hey, let's find a guy he may have a
little bit of a rapport with having worked with the
second unit, And this becomes the daily fantasy if it hits,
you're a hero and you cash and you cash big
and then you spike.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
Those are those all the cold sores?
Speaker 2 (22:48):
That's everything?
Speaker 4 (22:49):
Yeah, all right, cool, Let's get to the Ninjas for
week six. These are the real sneaky place where again,
I don't know if you will get the Ravens tight
end trifecta, but someday it may happen.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Just for this well, I think we just take him
in a six man tag team match and you've already
you've already disclosed them, so like we'll celebrate them as
it is. You know, add your Berman lines about likely
unlikely to score all of that, Mark Andrews. Look, he
didn't get praise for pancake blocks. He actually had some catches.
Let's go back to the quarterback position. Daniel Jones reference
(23:22):
team earlier Cincinnati fifth most fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks.
How about Tyrone Tracy stay with the same game, Opportunity
knocks once again, counterintuitive play, Trevor Lawrence just gonna wing
it out. Brisk are not gonna play in concussion protocol.
Bears are second best against quarterbacks. But something tells me
(23:44):
that they hit on a deep ball or two here
with Brian Thomas to give you a little bit of
life for Trevor Lawrence, particularly if you're in a two
quarterback league. I know it's tough to trust the Jaguars.
Remember they lost their first two games by a total
of eight points. Folks, So is as bad as the
record is and my numbing deep balls that Lawrence has
(24:05):
missed at times. Uh, they're a player two away from
being a solid squad.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
I'll tell you the the Brian Thomas play. I mean,
we've really seen an emerge. I thought Christian Kirk with
the subtraction of Calvin Ridley and then Kirk being healthy
because he was he was hurt later in the year,
would give that that Lawrence Kirk connection would be back.
But I think now it's it's Thomas's time. It's it's
(24:31):
starting to take off. You're seeing it and you saw
it last week, sought the week before. I think it's
that time for Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Big time playmaker, no question about it. Stay with Jacksonville
running back position. Bigsby because et N still with the
shoulder injuries, had to leave the game. Look, that's a
game against Houston they should have won. I mean it's
a period.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
But you know, yeah, yeah, you're right.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
The uh you know, they had they had their opportunities,
but that's what makes the Jaguars jack the Jaguars.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
You had no question about it, and then they finally
get off the schneid this last week. Chase Brown going
up against the Giants twenty three points, sixteen points in
his last year. You've talked about it a lot, Dan
that it was going to become Chase Brown time, and
it certainly has a little deeper. We had Pollard in
the hot plays, but Spears also in the mix for
(25:22):
a flex play. He got back to back games with
double digit fantasy points ahead of the bye week in Indianapolis.
As we've talked about, pretty generous against opposing runners. Tolbert
going up against Detroit, we got to find another option
in that Dallas offense. Fourteen thirteen and at twenty seven
point effort in week five, so opportunity for him to
(25:45):
step up. You know, they're selling t shirts of his catch,
knowing that won that game against the Steelers. Yeah, it's
a new line of product where they're doing like a
still shot. It's not a painting, it's not a you know,
AI representation. No, it's actually a picture the catch, and
they're trying to do that for big plays in the
NFL this year. Pretty crazy.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Oh that's great, I'm looking it up as we speak.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
There you go Courtland Sutton against the Chargers. Why just
because of the share share account does it necessarily yield anything? No,
only five point two fantasy points last week, but he'd
add a couple of decent weeks before that at thirteen
point eight to fifteen. So as a WR three, perhaps
a bit of a boost. We talked about him before
with Neighbors questionable Wandale Robinson gets us in here and
(26:34):
then I just throw the cautionary tale and this kind
of goes into no man's land, the Stefan Diggs thing, right,
the expectation, Hey, no Nicocollins. So suddenly he's going to
be a beast. Is he drawing Christian Gonzalez or is
that going to go tank Dell?
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Hey, you know the old Belichick way was double the
number one and put your number one on, you know,
your second guy in that. So I'm curious to see
what New England does. I think they've got to get
tanked Dell going at some point they absolutely you need
another you need that other option, and with Nico out,
(27:13):
we'll see if he steps up.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
But I don't Yeah, I don't think it's going to
be as easy for the Texans.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
I've got my Survivor pick coming up next segment, and
I think you think, oh, Drake, may your first career
start Texans almost a touchdown favorite.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
I don't think it's going to be that easy.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
I concur absolutely. And that's also another one thirty seven
and a half or thirty eight, depending on where you're shopping.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
By the way, I laughed because I saw the Jalen
Tolbert T shirt. And I have seen this before. I've
actually seen tiktoks where guys will take a picture of
someone working at a store and then they will walk
into and this is like a CBS and they have
the T shirt of the worker who's working and they're like, wait,
(28:00):
that's me on the shirt. It's it's such a sophomoric,
moronic prank, but for some reason it's very very funny
to me. So just the simple fact of let's just
put a picture and put it on a T shirt
the process makes me laugh. So this Jalen Tolbert picture
T shirt makes me laugh.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
I gotta dig that. I'm gonna try to sell T
shirts to my Fox Sports Radio coworkers.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Just at work. Oh man. Yeah, they've done, they've done.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
They've done the the the model of it, you know
where it's the the guy's not actually wearing the shirt.
They just you know, did their photoshop work with it. Yeah,
it is a real thing. Mike Harmen is not lying.
He never does. Hit him up at Swollen Dome. You
can find me at Dan Byer on Fox. Ian Roddy
is up next with his streaming defenses. Plus I'll give
(28:50):
you some information as well that you may want to
use four Week six, that's next, heer on, I want
your flex all right, we're gonna put the finishing touch,
which is in our week six preview. Ian Roddy is
our executive producer. He'll be here in a sec. Mike
Harman is alongside of us. He can grade and judge
and make fun of what Ian and I are about
(29:11):
to say, because I'll have a survivor pick of Points
of Balooza and my Oasis Player of Week six. But
Ian take it away with your streaming defenses here for
Week six, Who do you like in a streaming circumstance?
Speaker 2 (29:24):
All right.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
First of two, this is the Los Angeles Chargers first
appearance here streaming defenses.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
All right, nice to see it rostered.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
And thirty five percent of leagues. They're actually like in
terms of real life defenses fantasy stuff aside, they're allowing
the fewest points per game among all defenses in the
NFL twelve and a half points. And that defense is
going to play Bonnicks and the Broncos, who have struggled
offensively a lot this year, and they're coming off their
bye week so rested up extra time to prepare, watch
(29:53):
some film. I like the Chargers this week sixth.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Most fantasy points per game thus far, coming off the
buy would have been because I mean, who's carrying a
second defense?
Speaker 5 (30:03):
So absolutely perfect. And then the other one is the
Green Bay Packers. Again, I just can't quit them because
they are still rostered in just thirty three percent of leagues.
I don't understand why this is the case. They've been
one of the best fantasy defenses this year, at least
one interception in every single game that they've played. They
don't have a great matchup playing against Arizona, but at
(30:25):
this point we're streaming defenses. I think that's something I
can overlook. I like the Packers this week.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Yeah, maybe you can get a turnover. And again that
Arizona team is kept in check for a decent amount
of night game against San Francisco and then turned it
on late. I am curious about that matchup at lambeau
Field because there's a lot of games this week where
we're seeing the Eagles and Browns significant spread.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
We talked about the touchdowns spread with.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
The Texans and Patriots, but do you really think the
Patriots are gonna, you know, open it up. Plus, Texans
may be owned by a lot of you know squads.
I like your picks there, Ian, I like the championship
Packers as well.
Speaker 5 (31:04):
Thank you, Jens.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
All right my Survivor pick, and again I got it
wrong last week, so we're like a zero for four
including a one week suspension. This has not been good
guys this week. I don't want to jinx your Bears, Mike.
I know it's a coin flip in London. Yeah, I
do think that they are the better team. I also
do believe that green Bay has a has a decent chance.
I think you're gonna see a lot of Eagles this week.
(31:26):
I think you'll see a lot of Texans. I don't
know how much Ravens he'll see just because of the
Commanders in the way that they've been playing, but it
is a big number on the Ravens side of things.
Same thing with the Falcons and Panthers. That would be
the one that would worry me if I was if
I was making a pick Falcons on the road divisional game. Again,
it may be me just believing way too much in
(31:48):
Andy Dalton, but I think they have a chance and
funky things can happen. They were overmatched last week by
the Bears, but I think the Panthers could give the
Falcons something. So I would stay away from Atlanta and
your Survivor Bowl. Give me the Bears or Packers if
you want to play and have some fun.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
Nicely done. Yeah. The the Carolina thing is interesting because
if you look at pick sets, say we go to
the Yahoo pick pool straight up Atlanta, ninety seven percent
on the road and normally if the wave is coming
that big and I don't mean to you know, you
(32:25):
make many castinius ursions. My folks just weathered that mess
down in Florida. But when you've got that big a
swell of people picking one side usually looking the other way. Yeah, right,
where it's like, all right, it's one play here, it's
one play there. And I think a lot of folks
looking at Atlanta saw what they did last week. They
(32:46):
still needed over time to take care of business.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
Right.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
It wasn't like it was an easy run. And yes
it's five hundred yard and all of that stuff. It's
still just a I would I'm with you, I would
tend to go the other way.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
It's it's just that I think that the Panthers could
score with them if they need to, and I don't
know if the if they are let's just say, uh,
mistake proof in that area, like there could be something
funky happens like I don't know, a face mask that's
not called and then a fumble like something that happened
to them oh last week could actually turn around and
(33:23):
bite them in the button week six. Yeah, so one
i'd stay away from, all right, So those are the
survivor picks. The Bears are only a coin flip mic,
But I just think they're better than Jacksonville. I think
they're a better team. I think that they're starting to
show that. So, uh, the Bears may not be the
obvious pick, but on a neutral field, heck, let's.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Take them starting to find themselves, Dan, Yes, which means
I'm starting to get hopeful, and you know that's usually
a dangerous thing, as Shawshank Redemption taught me all those
years ago.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
I like Falcons Panthers is my points of palooza this week.
I like a Kirk Cousins, Andy Dalton, Shit, let's go
why not again? I'm not gonna pick one of the
top I'm not gonna pick cow boys and Lions with
that over under Mike talked about, I'm Raven's commander. Same thing.
Those are over fifty. I'm not allowed to use those
in my points of palooza. But a different place where
you could see points. I think it's going to be
(34:11):
in Charlotte with the Falcons and Panthers.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
I dig that one. It's forty six and a half,
so right towards opper end for this week, which is cool.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
The Oasis song that we use on the heels of
the Oasis reunion to not get tickets, but I guess
we'll just have.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
We got plenty of time, Dan, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
Yeah, overpay on the secondary market. Stop crying your heart out,
Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles. Everybody seems to be back,
including Lane Johnson. You got the Browns coming into town.
They're at a low Enough of the Sirianni talk and
what's this and that? Time to put your money where
your mouth is. Let's go, Jalen Hurts. Big week for
(34:48):
the Eagles against the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Let's go. Nine and a half points is the spread
in that one and the over under still only forty two.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
That feels like a nineteen fifty three NFL championship game,
doesn't it?
Speaker 3 (35:02):
How about the Eagles Browns?
Speaker 4 (35:03):
I don't know if who played in the nineteen I'm
gonna actually look it up right now, but that doesn't
it just feel like it was a It was played
in Detroit and the Lions ended up playing in that game,
but it just feels if they played the Browns.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
How about that?
Speaker 4 (35:18):
So it just feels like an old NFL game Browns
and Eagles.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
Guys, now that now that we've had our first NFL
coach fired, we kind of have to be on the
lookout extra for guys like Sirianni who are on the
hot seat playing bottom bottom feet are teams like this,
because if if the Eagles come out flat and lose
to the Browns, Sirianni might be on his way out
a little sooner than Yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
That's a good that's a good point.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Well you look at their schedule for the next four weeks. Yeah, Cleveland,
you got the Giants, you got the Bengals, and I
think it's the Jaguars. I think those are the next four.
There you go, so you know, if you don't go
three and one of those, Yeah, maybe a little bit
of hand ringing, but Dan, I want to I want
to end up with a big positive. How about those
uniforms on come.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
On, Yeah, they looked great absolutely, second time this year
they warm in a week one against the Broncos. It's again,
it's just like it's like the McRib they it comes
back and everybody loves it and but I and I
think the NFL knows that, and people will buy it
like crazy and then they want to take it away
from you. It was really hard for me to get
mad at them because of how good they looked at
(36:27):
those people. Oh oh gosh, how about the Todd Downing
era play calling? Now in the Jeff Ulbrich era, Ian
Are you happier Jets made this move.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
Yeah, I think a change needed to happen, right. I
think we all could see the offense wasn't where it
needed to be. The Sola thing was was weird. We
haven't even really gotten to talk about that much yet,
not that you know, from a fantasy standpoint, there's a
ton to talk about. It really is the offensive thing.
But I don't know. The timing of the Sola thing
was surprising to me, not the fact that they did it.
But but yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (36:59):
I don't think Hackett or Downing is a particularly good
play caller, but change is good. Something needed to change,
so I think it's a good good thing for Garrett Wilson, Breeze.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
Hall, Mike, what do you think about the firings?
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Well, I think when it's it's all said and done,
look the Hackett thing, he was there only because that
means Aaron Rodgers doesn't believe in him anymore. So so
that's really you know, the what you read there, and
and look he can protest all he wants and do
his Bill Clinton cadence of I did not have anything
to do with the firing of that man, and I
(37:32):
love him thinking, does anybody believe that. No, nobody's gonna
believe that perception becomes reality. But yeah, for Sala, great coordinator.
I mean, obviously the defense playing well, but you can't
fire everybody else, so the head coach goes right, he
(37:53):
was a guy kind of dead man walking through this
whole thing. Defense will carry on Ulbrick. You know, Jay
Glazer was on with Smith and I and and folks
can find the podcast like wherever they wherever you found
us here. Yeah, you can find the full interview there.
But he dropped the line of you know, the Sean
McVeigh on the defensive side and you know the eyebrow
(38:17):
rais like, wow, that's pretty head. He praised, So let's
see where that goes. New direction, new voice from the
offensive side. Look, you can't get any worse. Yeah, if
nothing else, Rodgers will actually probably be calling the plays himself,
so he won't have to be arguing with a guy
on the sideline to get the damn play calling.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
I'm sure that's what it was with Hackett. Is he
definitely gets the play call and just audibles into whatever
he wants because Hackett is terrible.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
I just I again, Aaron Rodgers through three interceptions one
a one was brought back for a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
So let's fire the defensive head coach.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
No, that's it, right, But you can't fire Rogers. No,
you can't, right, And so it becomes the when you
lose two games in a row that you probably should
have won, it becomes the well, here's.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
My I think that they are at risk of losing
the defense with that move. I don't like not and
I think that, and I don't think it's imminent. I
think that it could happen because of how crazy it was.
I just I would have just made the downing move.
But it shows how dysfunctional they are. Ye, and let
Sala just try to to write it out.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
I like Robert Sala. I think that he's I like
him too.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
I like to me it was an energy thing, though
it was just the last year year and a half.
He's just been lifeless on the sidelines. You never see
him talking with players.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Really, it's true if Zach Wilson was your question.
Speaker 5 (39:36):
But no, I mean it's true, but it's the case
like it was his quarterback. You need to play the
cards you're given, and if you have an energy issue,
the team's gonna take on the energy of the head coach,
and if you're you're doing the one thousand mile lifeless
stare every time the camera goes to you, there's your
team's gonna take on that same energy. So I agree
with with them doing it again. The timing was weird
(39:59):
to me, but I you know, it's there are other
issues with the Jets, but that doesn't make solid not
an issue.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Yeah, I think in the end, you know, we all
agree Rogers is a big part of the problem right now. Sure,
Like I don't think anybody that's genuinely watching these games
and analyzing what they're doing can't put a lot of
the blame at his feet. But unfortunately, we know the
way this business works, the head coach is the guy
(40:29):
that walks the play. I agree with you, Dan, the
move should have just been the offensive coordinator. But unfortunately,
once Woody Johnson gets involved and he's being poked and
prodded by his fellow owners and whatever else and being
mocked for what you get, Wow, you brought that guy back.
And then Sala didn't help himself when he goes into
the in front of the podium and says things like
(40:52):
the cadence issue and whatever else. That just makes you
more of an enemy of old number eight there, and
he can again Rogers can say all he wants, I
love him. Yeah, it's easy to love him now that
you don't have to report to him or have him
have anything to do with the team. Let's see if
that suddenly makes you capable of not bouncing the ball
(41:12):
off your receiver's back, or like you looked really great
and mobile against New England. Well New England stakes.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
So so now now over time, what are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (41:27):
Outlast out out play just like Survivor. Yes, but it's
the idea that you know it. Look look at the mirror.
It's a lot of it is Aaron Rodgers, but you
know Sala wears it because they think they have another
guy in Ulbrick that defensively can just pick up where
he left off and keep that side of the ball humming.
(41:49):
Whether that's case, like you say, Dan, whether you potentially
lose them remains to be seen. But you know, unless
Aaron Rodgers looks something more like you know, the way
back Machine of several years ago, which I think all
three of us have said all along, I don't know
that that's going to be the case.
Speaker 3 (42:08):
Not going to.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Right between health, physicality, all of those things, and just
mentally being at a place where he can be in
a muddy pocket. Clearly that's not the case. He's very
quick to get rid of the ball if there's anybody
near his feet, and that's a lot of quarterbacks, but
certainly for Aaron Rodgers, part of it has been his
(42:29):
elusiveness and ability to extend plays, find the open and
none of that's happening right now and I don't see
that changing just because you put a different name on
the play caller sheet.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Well, get ready for a rock fight Monday night.
Speaker 4 (42:43):
It's the Jets and the Bills from MetLife Stadium, all right,
that's going to do it for us here.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
And I want your flex.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
Sitting on all the topics and so much more up
at Ian Underscore, Ian Roddy Underscore, find Mike at Swollen Domen.
You can find me Dan Byer at Dan Byer on Fox.
Best of luck to you. Next week, we'll give you
a recap of week six plus it's the one third
mark of the season, six weeks in. We'll kind of
take a look back at those first six weeks and
(43:11):
what we have ahead for the next twelve, and so
much more.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
We appreciate you listening and can't wait to talk to
you next time here. And I want your flex
