I am nothing if not fair. I missed last night.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Allergies are really bad.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Bad voice couldn't work last night, and I want to
give you time, Mike Harmon, because I know, I know
the Bulls beat the Knicks last night. It was an
awful and heart commits a horrible foul that allows Kobe White.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
To three free throws.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Go ahead, I want to give you your minute because
you deserved it last night and you didn't get it.
You should have it tonight.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
Well I did get it because Arnie Spaniers a Knicks fan.
So I wore him out up.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
And it wasn't really the same, though, No, because I couldn't.
Speaker 5 (01:27):
I couldn't look to my right and just smirk the
whole time when Kobe White was hitting those free throws
to stick the dagger and you. So no, I mean,
it wasn't the same, but I did get at least
a little of that through the power of the inner
webs and our connectivity with Arnie out there in Vermont.
So he got to wear it because that happened literally
as we were getting ready to come on air, right
(01:48):
I'm doing the shift out with Rob and with Kelvin
and they're standing watching and goes, I think he hit
his hair.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
It's like hair's part of the body still.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Counts, No, it is, it is depends, yes, some hair morp.
That's why hey have a big hairstyle.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
I mean I.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Always say, don't go with a big hairstyle. Because it
slows you down. You're not aerodynamic, you're not as fast.
But sometimes like that, if you have a lot of hair,
you get the foul call.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
Yeah, if I was running the forty or running one
hundred meters, then maybe you know, the hair and the
airflow and all that stuff comes into play. But for
the purpose of I'm going up for a three pointer
and for some reason the guy decides to swipe it
my head, Yeah, I'm gonna take the call and be
excitable about it.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, for the hind book, don't do it from behind?
What are you doing? What are you doing? If you've
gotten beat, what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (02:33):
What were you doing? Even if you hadn't touched him
at all?
Speaker 5 (02:35):
On principle, that was just such a bad decision. Like
we'll watching it live and you know we're all standing around,
you know.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
What the hell did he just do?
Speaker 1 (02:44):
But I didn't touch him? No, I know you didn't.
That was just such a stupid play. I'm calling a
foul on general principle. That's all we're doing right here.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
So this was yesterday's show, What do you Do?
Speaker 5 (02:53):
I gotta give harm in a minute, and I think
jason Ne did a little bit of the therapy coming
out of that too, because I don't think Venny the
dog got to wear it nearly as much. Ash well,
he just got the sympathy empathy of a nationwide audience.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
Speaking of Bennie Jason, what's that smell, Benny? It's that smell.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Benny is MVP.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
Yeah, you know, look, I thought you were saying the
Jalen Brunson. Oh there's the shot. Oh it didn't go.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
I thought you were saying, my dog's stunk. We all
thought three different things, like my dog is fine. I
come on, dog is fine. Uh Yeah. Tonight Thursday night football. Again,
we always say this, it doesn't have to be a
great game. It just has to be close. The Commanders
with a ten to three lead over the Eagles. They
just hit a field goal to give them this lead
early in the third quarter. And yeah, a couple of
(03:44):
big questions coming off this game, and and nothing bigger
than you look at the Eagles and go.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Man, they've been really good. What what the hell is
going on?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Because tonight the Eagles look flat, They look sloppy. On
a Thursday night game, in a game in which you
can really take control of the division, you can go
up by a game and a half on the Commanders,
and you have a victory in hand with them.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
And this is the effort we're getting from the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
They look like they're just out here playing and it's
it's weird, but it's what.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
We've been saying all along.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
As good as the Eagles have looked right and times
they can, as good as they do look from time
to time, and as much as they can they can
look good for weeks in a row. They are always
one foot on the banana peel now looking, I could
do it by one foot. Now, I don't put that
foot on the banana pel, No, trust me, it's on
the banana pel. Now take it out on looking. I
could do it one foot. This is always where it's
after Philadelphia. For no rhyme or reason, they come up flat.
(04:41):
They give you an effort that passes understanding. And this
is what we've gotten so far tonight. Now it is
a close game, so it's still anybody's game at ten
to three, But I mean, come on, man, I.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Mean they just look like, hey, you know what they
look like.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
They look like a team that has clinched first place
and they've claimed not playing for anything, but it's two.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
It's two.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
It's still too many weeks left in the season to
just play the backups, right, Like it's like, hey, we've
clinched home field all the way through, but we still
have three weeks left to go and we have to play.
I just I just don't get that sense of urgency.
And you can see it because you could say, look,
what do I know about football? But body language and
excitement and where a team is at and I see
that out of the Commanders tonight, and I don't see
(05:23):
that out of the Eagles. Three points in the first
two quarters and now they get their first possession here
of the third quarter. I mean, this is this is
an Eagles team that you can say, wow, what happened?
But this is kind of who they are. They give
you efforts like this well too regularly for you to
take them so seriously as hey, oh man, look how good,
look how good they are? Like tonight should be a
game where wow, hey, the Commanders are really good and
(05:46):
and they're coming and they're a great news story here
it looks like they're would be good for a while
with a great quarterback. But this is where the Eagles,
with their talented roster should be beating the Commanders, and
it should be one of those reality checks. Okay, as
good as we are, maybe we're not that good. We're
at home, we should be winning this game, and instead
here's where they are. I got three points through the
first half, and and here they are out for their
(06:06):
first drive, and who knows what we're going to get
the rest of the way.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
Three and a half point favorites at home in this one.
A couple of missfield goals from Elliott, some missthrows, and
you see him chronicled throughout the social media and certainly
if you've been watching the game, the highlights of all
the missed opportunities. AJ Brown cooking his the cornerback that's on,
I'm turning and looking for the ball and then the
(06:29):
ball's throwing seven yards short of where he is, things
of that nature. I mean one thing to point out though,
during this five game winning streak, and you can only
beat who's on the schedule, Jason, But let's go through it.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Cleveland Giants, yep, Mangles, yep. Jaguars Yeah, Cowboys in the Sun.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Yeah, whole bunch.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Is what does that have in common with people leaving
their jobs? Well, I don't know what, everybody's quitting. All
those those teams aren't even quiet quitting. They're just they're
just like, hey, we're done. We're not We're just out
and out quitting. Yeah, the only team that.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
You still hold, you know, a little bit of a
candlelight vigil for, is the Bengals.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Right, we'll see them on Sunday night.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
Against Frostburge Chargers, but you know, they've got a flicker
of hope. These other teams, they're all circling the drain
and trying to figure out what the next steps are coaching, GMS, quarterbacks,
et cetera. But yeah, for the Eagles, you look at
the talent available and when you add aj Brown, when
you add DeVante Smith, who is more or less on
(07:34):
the side of a milk carton in the first half,
Saquon Barkley and some of the decisions in terms of
trying to get him the football and Hurts left briefly
to get the concussion check, but he's back in and
ready to play, and some of the easy throws just
haven't been made, even with the wide receivers getting their
(07:54):
space and creating separations. So, yeah, the step up in
class give dan Quinn and his squad credit because they're
matching him step for step.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And this should be and this is where you want
to believe in the Eagles, right like they've they've won
five in a row. And you know, we talked about
the teams that they'd be. Okay, they're not world beaters,
all teams that have quit, but they're still they've been
improving week to week. They've gotten their identity of Hey,
Saquon Barkley is gonna be a guy who rely on
all the way through.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
And it's good.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Hey, we figured out all the problems that we had.
That's all in the past.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
All the Nick Sirianni doesn't get along with Jalen Hurts
and Jaylor Hurd doesn't along with anybody, but everybody loves
Saquon Barkley all the crazy ass stuff. You know, you think, okay, hey,
I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Right, they've they've moved on from this at seven and
through to all the drama has gone and now still
here you get a night like.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
This and it's what, it's what.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
It's why.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
I think back to what DeVante Adams said after he
gave his speech to the Jets about loving the game
and being excited when he was there for all of
five minutes, right when he's like, what's going on here?
Like there is a play in this first game where
Breis Hall had a fifty five yard play and nobody
jumped up and down and gave him a high five.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Nobody was really excited. The bench didn't go crazy.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
And this is why DeVonta Adams jumped in and said,
hey man, this is something everybody should be celebrating this.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
But we got a fifty yard play.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Why is everybody not jumping up and down and honking
it up and yelling and why has that not infused
us with all kinds of energy? And I don't understand this.
And when you think about that, you think about the
culture that surrounds a team where many times yeah yeah,
big plays like that they just don't get celebrated. Why
Because the vibe isn't what it should be for whatever reason,
whether it's the quarterback isn't as good as you think
(09:38):
it is, or the head coach gets fired. But the
vibe around the team is just not what it should be.
And I think back to that, going, yeah, I mean wow.
Robert Soller really never never talked to any of the
Jets to you know, hey, we celebrating big plays.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
He's a guy celebrating more than anybody. He got fired.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
But okay, Jeff Ulbrick is a real positive dude, and
he's about positive vibesverybody say he's one of the most
positive coaches in the league.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
But still there's that malaise.
Speaker 7 (09:59):
It.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Yeah, we had a fifth the Art play and no
one celebrates it. DeVonta Adams said, well, this is a
really big deal right here. And I kind of feel
that way with the Eagles, Like that's the same kind
of vibe I get from them where except they're a
much better team that just shows up flat way more
often than you think. Like the bad teams that show
up flat, all right, they shouldn't that often, but they do.
But like when the good teams really fall in flat,
(10:20):
you're like, how the hell do you show up to
this game and just like yeah, whatever, Like I don't
I don't get how, I don't get how it happens.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
Well, that's the big thing, because it is a divisional
game against the team that's coming to take what you've
had rising up. And to that end, I mean, you've
had two huge drives, Jason, I mean in the first half.
You have the eleven play drive to start the game,
and you have the missfield goals, so you get nothing,
and then you have the fifteen play eighty seven yards.
You've got to settle for a field.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
Goal, right.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
You dominate, you move the ball, and you're not able
to finish. What's curious is on the Washington side nine
to fifteen, one hundred and three yards for Daniels, you
had that one sequence that resulted in the touchdown. It
was the Eckler and Robinson connection. Eckler with the big reception.
You look at the Eagles defensive backs have done a
whale of a job. I mean, mclaurin's been erased. Noah
(11:10):
Brown got missed on what should have been easy throw
from Daniels. But it's six catches for Eckler, one for Urge,
one for Robinson, and one from Diami Brown. I mean,
so you know they in their opportunity stepping clad. Look,
they're up ten to three. Hard to argue with the
scoreboard at this point, but not exactly world beating on
the other side.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
So you thought you'd get points.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
You have two young quarterbacks and offense like, yeah, let's go.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
Nope, not today, Hey, guys, what's that smell?
Speaker 4 (11:36):
What's I don't know, justin what's that smell?
Speaker 6 (11:40):
It's your MVP pick, dude.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Saquon Barkley just caught a forty three yard pass and
they're in they're in the red zone because of Saquon Barkley.
Speaker 6 (11:49):
He called me when he gets in the end zone.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Barkley now has over one hundred yards total offense.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
He just catch it. And again, this is part of
my point.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
He gets a fifty yard as he gets all the
way down inside the tent and the celebration is somewhat muted,
and and you know he's on the sideline.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
He's shaking his head and you're like.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
Where is all of that?
Speaker 3 (12:08):
This is a These are big plays, man. Fifty yard
plays are big things. And again it was.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Met with a hey, okay, now let's go out and
see if we can. We can, we can finish this
thing off.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
And we can't because yeah, here comes Elliott again. That's it.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
Three, I mean, right off of that big play, three
straight plays done field goal.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
The fans hate Sariani so much it looks like he's
wearing a bulletproof vest.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Oh hey, hey, easy, easy, easy, easy?
Speaker 6 (12:35):
Is that what is that Is that a sweater?
Speaker 3 (12:38):
It's a holiday that's very nice. Now, I'm glad you
mentioned that.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
There's the Eagles part.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
But for the Commanders, for anybody who doubts how good
they are, okay, because okay, they started out they're seven
and three. How good are they really? We love Jayden
Daniels and he's really exciting. Hasn't quite been the same
guy the last few weeks of the league, catching up
to him a little.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Bit, which happens.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
But if you don't think the Commanders are good, oh,
they've had the game where they just got by the
Bears because of the Hail Mary. They're still a seven
and three team and their skill position players are not good.
It's not that they're terrible, it's just they have a
bunch of guys and they're still winning. They're still seven
and three and Jade Daniels was still running up front
(13:24):
for MVP camp the first few weeks of the season.
Their rushing attack is okay. Aust Neekler can't run the
ball anymore. He completely does all his damage in the
receiving game and there's not a ton of damage, but
he is having a good game tonight. Brian Robbinson is nice, alright,
is he elite? He's somebody said no, Brian Robbinson's nice.
And you look at the wide receivers. Zach Ertz, he's
gonna be playing when these fifty years old. We look,
(13:44):
zach Ertz is not Rob Gronkowski anymore. Terry McLaurin has
one target in the entire game so far. We're four
minutes from halftime. He didn't even have a target yet.
They don't have a lot of dudes, right, and Washington
is still at seven and three and they're leading this
game midway through the third quarter. They don't have dudes
and they're seven and three. That's the one thing that
(14:05):
should tell you this team is pretty good because if
you look at skill positions, you see it whole.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
They have this they have. Of course they're great.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Of course, this is why Sam Darnold started off great
because he had Justin Jefferson and all these other But
when you look at a team that, hey, these are
just a bunch of guys, right. Anybody that's played Fantasy knows, boy,
don't want to play my Washington Commanders. Guys outside of
Jayden daniels Man, I don't know. They're all like running
back threes and wide receiver fours.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
They don't have a lot of dudes, and they're still
having this kind of season.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Man, the Commanders are for real.
Speaker 5 (14:33):
I would say this on the national stage and certainly
from the radio broadcast. Friend of the show, Mike Sanders
still getting himself a lot of run with the effort
he's putting up in the secondary tonight.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
So that's where we sit right now, ten to six game.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
The Eagles have to settle for that field goal after
the big Saquon Barkley catch and run. We'll have more
on this game coming up. We got big stuff out
of the NFL. Let Express Employment Professionals. Help hire your

Speaker 4 (15:11):

Speaker 1 (15:12):
But the slap heard round the world, it's not the
anniversary of the Wilsman. No, No, the big slap from
today herd round the world.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
We break it.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Down next right here, Jason and Mike Fox Sports radios.
Speaker 8 (15:25):
Finally I done put my head, my hand through his
head in the brain.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
I want them to see.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
I wanted brain to come and be sure to catch
live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon
weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven pm Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon
Live Fromthetirack dot Com studios right now, Thursday Night Football,
the Commanders lead the Eagles ten to six. Late in
the third quarter. Eagles have the football in their own territory.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
We'll have more on this.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Game coming up in a bit, but uh boy, I'll
tell you all the auction getting sucked out of the
room by the Mike Tyson Jake Paul fight tomorrow night
on Netflix. I mean, right now, it could still not happen,
but right now the fight is I'm not saying anything's that,
but you know the fight is going to happen, and
it's going to be tomorrow night. And I gotta say,
(16:21):
my interest level in this, Mike, it was like at
a one right but now I'm at least but now
at least I'm like at a three or a four
three or.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Four are starting to ratchet up over the last forty
eight hours.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Well, you know, a couple of things is number one.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
I realized that, no matter what I feel about Jake Paul,
it is a big thing. And seeing Mike Tyson and
my desire to see Mike Tyson fight again is going
to be a thing. But it's just I've had to
I've had to get past the fact because look, Jake
Paul is just someone who wants to be famous and
was looking for a way to do it and he
found it.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Right, I'm a YouTuber.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Oh now I'm going to start fighting people, and I'm
I'm gonna be I'm gonna take over and spend all
kinds of money on social media and I just want
to be famous, and this is the avenue I found
to do it.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
No, but he was right.
Speaker 5 (17:06):
You've got famous on one like cause look famous for
guys our age and a lot of our audience here. Yeah,
were we his target? No, but he's certainly found an audience.
And then it became a well I like physicality, I
like fighting or whatever else, and found another avenue by
which to grow set audience and maybe get us to
(17:27):
at least raise our eyebrows and pay attention a little bit,
particularly given the state of the larger boxing community. Right,
and this is where all the true fans of pugilism say,
boxing's perfectly healthy.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
You shut up, like, I get it. I get it.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
You all line in the gyms and you go to
events or whatever. I'm talking to the grand scale where
you get the casuals in to spend their one hundred
dollars of pay per view. Right with no Pakia, no
Mayweather fights on the slate, a lot of folks are
going boxing.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
They still do that, right, they still do that.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
And I get it.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
You guys that.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
Are really big fans of boxing, and you and you
preach it, you love it. That's great, that's great. I'm
talking for the casuals. And that's what Jake Paul has
been able to do inspire at least a little bit
of juice in his past exhibitions, and certainly with this
run up part two with Mike Tyson.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Question for you guys, Yeah, what do you got Frostburg more.
Speaker 6 (18:25):
Fixed boxing or a Chiefs game?
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Oh oh well, wait a minute, wait a minute, We'll
get to that Chiefs game coming up side. Because they're
playing in Buffalo this week. It's gonna that's gonna be
a different story. Might be a different story. Orchard Park
Sunday afternoon late, might be a different story than than Arrowhead.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Uh, you know on Sunday at one o'clock.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Right now, you have a new kicker than Yeah, I mean,
come on, this escalated.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Really quick, just really, just really quick. I gotta say
this because this is just utterly ridiculous. The Jets are
now going to be on their fourth kicker in the
last month because the guy that the Eagle the Ups.
The Chiefs just lost Harrison Butker, who's on IR with
a left knee injury, gonna be out for at least
the next four games. So the Chiefs go and they
sign the guy who kicked for the Jets last week, right,
(19:11):
And it's crazy because this is someone the Jets have
done such musical chairs with their kicking situation, that Spencer Schrader,
who kicked for them last week, went back to the
practice squad and now the Chiefs have him. So now
the Jets are gonna go to their fourth kicker, I
mean four kickers at four because they signed like four
guys and now it's Okay, Well we had Riley Patterson, No,
(19:32):
he's done. Now we got Schrader. Oh nope, he gone
to the Chiefs. Now we're gonna have Andrews Carlson, who
that knew had the leaguet out of Green Bay so fast.
I mean, how do we have four kickers in a month?
I mean, we have four kickers in four games. That's dean,
this is just, that's just. I mean, the comedy rights itself.
I mean, forget about quarterback for a second. Aaron Rodgers,
he coming back next year. The Jets get out. We
(19:54):
got four kickers in four weeks?
Speaker 4 (19:55):
Man, what the hell you are?
Speaker 5 (19:56):
Now the first show nationally or probably even in New
York to recognize that fact because of the rest of
the moving parts and the whole thing coming off the rails.
So the kicker part of the equation just off to
the wayside until that very moment right there mark the tape.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
I mean, really, I mean, four kickers in four weeks,
four kickers.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
In five I don't understand. I mean, that's that's the
Jets jetting going. Okay, we've had enough quarterback news this week,
and rodya, let's do something different. Hey, Let's make sure
that our kicking situation is so screwed up that it
becomes a headline. I mean, four weeks, four different kickers.
(20:40):
I don't know, man, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (20:41):
Well, but that's when you know things have really gone
to hell, right, because normally that that position gets to
be a Ronco, set it and forget it kind of
situation where it's not good enough to where you're like,
this guy's the greatest. You've got a few of those
in the history of our game, and folks are well
apprized of their presence. But normally it's say, all right,
the guy's okay. Occasionally we can super toe them out
(21:04):
there for a fifty plus, but they're not gonna lose
us games.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
Now, for the Jets, it's a revolving door. Good luck
with that.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
I mean, maybe we do this whole thing. It's a
different guy every week, you know, maybe tell me what
the hell is the difference? Yeah, I mean, we have
a reality contest kick for the Jets on Sunday. Hey,
all right, do I get to meet Aaron Rodgers and
all those swell guys?
Speaker 7 (21:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Well, maybe maybe you meet it. If you make a kick,
you'll probably meet him. If you miss a kick, You're
probably not going to meet him. Well all right, fine,
uh so again, just wanted to mention that crazy as
stuff because you know jets. But today was the weigh
in for the Mike Tyson Jake Paul fight, and we'll
get to the we'll get to the interview that Mike
Tyson did coming up.
Speaker 5 (21:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Yeah, but Tyson and Jake Paul and this again, this
is why my interest level isn't at quite as high.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
It's gone from a one to a three. Uh.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
You know they always have the stare down at the
wigh in for a fight. Well, apparently Mike Tyson didn't
like the fact that Jake Paul jumped really close to
his face when they were gonna line up for the
way in, and Mike Tyson decided, I'm going to get
a swing in before the fight started. Take a listen
what the fangus? There was a microphone right next to Tyson.
(22:19):
When he did, he sounded like Dave Days.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
It was a little bit man man, which is a universe. Yeah.
You know when you see interviews with that and you're.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Like, okay, uh, Tyson slaps Jake Paul in the face,
who just stands there and he stands there and he
doesn't attack him back.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
He just stands there like he's waiting for another one.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Tyson didn't look like he was happy that Jake Paul
got in his face. And you know, this is what
I mean when I say my my, my interest level
is gone from A one to three.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
It's gone up. It's gone from one to three.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
It's more like a I had no curiosity about it before,
but no, not at least curious about it.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
But like, what do we really think is going to
happen in this fight?
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Like do you really think that one of these guys
is going to get absolutely knocked the blank out right?
Speaker 7 (23:02):
Like?
Speaker 1 (23:02):
And it's gonna it's like like it's gonna be a
point where because it would end Jake Paul's boxing career
if he gets knocked out by Mike Tyson, Right, Mike
Tyson's oct be able to do anything like this again
if he gets embarrassed by Jake Paul. So if we're
really gonna see both these somebody getting knocked out, I'd
be stunned. And when I see this way in if
a guy comes and slaps you in the face and
you kind of stand there like was that planned? Was
(23:23):
that something that was that that was that that was
that was really off the cuff was I mean, it's
it's really hard for me to think that there's not
stuff that's gonna happen in this fight that we we
don't already know, Like are they gonna hold each other
up for a few rounds and then it's gonna end
and Jake Paul, you know, and Jake Paul's gonna yell
at everybody after I won, you know, because I could
(23:45):
see Jake Paul winning a decision to keep it going
forward because Tyson doesn't need to win, but Jake Paul
needs to save face so we can fight somebody else after.
This's got a lot of mileage out of this, Like,
are we're really gonna see a great fight? Are we
going to see two guys holding each other up for
a few rounds in a decision and then it's gonna.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Be one of those Oh yeah. It's like the empty calories.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Like I went out to eat and I ate a
bunch of cauliflower because that's like tyshir it's worse meal ever.
I just had a bunch of cauliflower and I'm full,
but I don't feel fulfilled, like That's kind of my
fear for tomorrow night's fight, which is why I'm wondering,
how good is it really going to be. We're really
going to get something where they come out and they
don't like each other and they're pounding each other back
and forth, which would be awesome.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
But we get stuff like this.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
When I see Jake Paul gets slapped in the face,
he just stands or I'm like, really, he gets slapped
in the face. You know, there's no reactions, No I
want to get back and hit you, none of that stuff. Like,
I don't know, man, I look at this and I go, yeah,
we could be seeing another Mayweather Pakia fight.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
We looked forward to it for so long. And what
do they do?
Speaker 1 (24:41):
They danced around each other for the entire fight, and
they walked away with their hands and going I didn't
neither of us beat each other up. We both each
made fifty million dollars and look at look at that.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Look how great that is. I just have a feeling
we're going to kind of get the same thing.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
Well, that's it.
Speaker 5 (24:54):
It goes spectacle the slap in the face reel or
imagined I made it played out like ww theater.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Why I paid preview, come and see us. And in
this case, it's just.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
The giant Netflix logo flying around your screen and bouncing
around like a screen saver. Hey, you can watch it
live if you already have a Netflix subscription, no extra cost,
no ninety nine dollars, no all those Go run to
your sports bar that picked it up, uh, and reserve
your seat.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
You don't have to do it.
Speaker 5 (25:21):
So, yeah, some of it just played out like a
full on promo for the upcoming pay per view live event.
But hopefully we get a couple of, you know, big
inter interactions. I think the morbid curiosity of it with
the Tyson thing, like anybody that's doing the ah, he's
tainting his legacy. Come on, man, that legacy is long
(25:45):
done in terms of what Mike Tyson once was to
to where we're at now and where we stand now.
And if you want to remember him there, great, don't
watch well now to watch go back and watch your
you know videos of yesteryear.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
It's funny you say that word legacy, Mike Harmon.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
It's funny you say that because Tyson did an interview
today with a kid reporter and it was pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
Yeah, she's pretty good. You know, yeah, yeah, Jazz, he's
got some run.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Thirteen year old Jazzy right.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Look, of course everybody's doing all these questions interviews, and
Tyson sits down with Jazzy thirteen years old, and she
asked Mike Tyson a question about his legacy.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
And listen to how Tyson answered just wait for it,
because oh boy, does this thing get dark really quick?
Speaker 9 (26:32):
Well, and you return to the ring for this fight.
Speaker 10 (26:34):
You are setting a monumental opportunity for kids my age
to see the legend Mike Tyson in the ring for
the first time. So, after such a successful career, what type.
Speaker 9 (26:43):
Of legacy would you like to leave behind when it's
all set and done.
Speaker 8 (26:46):
No, I don't believe in the word legacy. I think
that's another word for ego. Legacy doesn't mean nothing. That's
just some word everybody grabbed on to. Someone said that word,
and everyone grabbed on the words, so now was used
every five seconds. I mean that absolutely nothing to me.
I'm just passing through. I'm gonna die and it's gonna
be over. Who cares about legacy after that? With a
(27:07):
big eagan So I'm gonna die. I want people to
think that I'm this, I'm great, I'm no. We're nothing
where you're dead with dust, absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing.
Speaker 10 (27:17):
Well, thank you so much for sharing that. That is
something that I have not heard before someone say that's
the answer.
Speaker 8 (27:22):
Can you really.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Imagine to my thing? I want my legacy to be
this way when I get dead? Why do you want
to say?
Speaker 7 (27:27):
You think I really want to think about you? How?
Speaker 4 (27:31):
What's the death?
Speaker 8 (27:32):
I think I want people to think about me when
I'm gone.
Speaker 4 (27:34):
Who the cares about me when I'm gone?
Speaker 7 (27:37):
My kids?
Speaker 4 (27:38):
Maybe a grandkid?
Speaker 11 (27:42):
For sharing that, Thanks Mike, We're all really gonna die?
How do you say that to a thirteen year old kid?
What is it that we're all gonna die?
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Anyway?
Speaker 5 (27:58):
Hey, hey, you know what, I was really surprised you
didn't drop a hey. You know what next month, Santa
Claus ain't dropping down.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
You really want you really want some stuff. I'll tell
you some stuff you want to know, something like.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
Like that guy that speaks in the truth. Let's go
find you know.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Look, now, look that is a very effective way to
to to get people to stop asking you a question.
Speaker 7 (28:22):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
In the third quarter, you you uh, you got intercepted twice.
It looked like there was a miscommunication. Can you talk
about those passes? No, we're all gonna die anyway. What
does it matter gym in the neck?
Speaker 7 (28:34):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Yeah, but that play like that was a big play
in the game.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
What does it matter?
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Everybody that played in this game is gonna die, all
of us people watching the game. You're gonna die, I'm
gonna die. Everybody's gonna die.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
What does it matter? Like, I get having that kind
of attitude sometimes, but how do you do that? Maybe
even if you're looking for attention, how do you say
that to a thirteen year old.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Kid, she's a professional.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
I'm full of life. I'm just starting and I'm excited. Look,
I'm excited about life at fifty three. I'm excited right.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
All this day.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
And he's like, oh, I never thought about that before, Mike,
thanks to that. Really interesting, Uh look at and what
life is? What does it matter about your legacy because
we're all gonna die.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (29:17):
That is well, I mean it is.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
An interesting spin on the legacy question that we spend
so much time ascribing to others.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
Do you know it's gonna be a thirteen year old
Come on, man, you don't say that to it.
Speaker 5 (29:29):
Mike Dyson, I have no idea what the hell I'm
getting when I asked him a question? Are you kidding me?
Is he on a gummy? Is he on something else?
Is he just having his problem with the world in
the moment.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
It's Mike Dyson.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Okay, so and Jazz.
Speaker 5 (29:44):
He should have been apprised to the fact that you
have no idea what the hell's going back at, Just
to just be careful. They knew what they were doing
when they sent her out there. If they didn't, then
shame on them. Oh it's Mike Tyson.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
What do you mean you know he's gonna be Why
would they send her out there if they thought it
was quite tighty?
Speaker 5 (30:03):
I go to send you to sit down and interview
Mike Tyson. You don't think it's taking a left turn
at some point?
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Yeah, but you're an adult and you're interviewing Mike. This
is a thirteen year old kid. You don't think he's.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
Making that distinction. I think Mike, he's getting in there.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
I think he can make a distinction between here's a
thirteen year old kid asking a question.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
He just thought she needed brute honesty. Why am I
gonna tap dance.
Speaker 5 (30:25):
That was the best, best, most lucid question I've been
asked all day, and I'm gonna give you a real answer.
Fuck because Tysher and I looked at each other. It's like,
and I've known Jazzy's work for a couple of years.
She's done a lot of red carpets and other stuff.
So she asked a really great question. Here's the thing, wrong, guy,
potential for these for it to go sideways and not
(30:47):
walk along the red line.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Is potentially there.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
No, you had not listen to the red line. That's
an Aaron Rodgers Mike Williams thing. It's red line, red line.
Speaker 7 (30:54):
No, I mean.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Now, I'm gonna do that.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Anytime you want to make fun of me my team losing,
I'm gonna say, doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
We're all gonna die. What doesn't matter?
Speaker 9 (31:01):
And again, thank you so much for sharing that.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Hey, how about the bulls? How about that horrible heart.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
Foul last night?
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Man Ah, what doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
We're all gonna die.
Speaker 9 (31:09):
And again, thank you so much for sharing that.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Thanks. Thanks Jessey.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
Jason, you want to know something funny?
Speaker 3 (31:17):
What's that time?
Speaker 12 (31:17):
This is like kind of you could have predicted this
because I know Tyson went on the Jake Paul podcast
or whatever it was, and he was actually talking about
how he still has his fight and all that stuff,
and also his like massive amount of intake of shrooms
right now.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
So like this question answer is not far fetched.
Speaker 12 (31:31):
And I'll even make a prediction here, dude, I bet
you he will definitely probably knock out him.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
I'm telling you, it's gonna get crazy.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
Gonna come out swinging as a two to one underdog. Okay,
let's it.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
See I hope.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
So, I wouldn't be surprised if in the fight tomorrow night,
like somebody jumped in the ring and started fighting, like
it became like a full WWE type thing.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
Where hey, here's the third man in the ring for
some reason.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Like I would be surprised if that happening.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
Random manager, the random guy rapper. The thing is because
neither are trying to get some ju.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Neither guy is gonna lose their mojo, is gonna be
embarrassed so much the fact that this is the last
time we see them in the ring, or that they
do stuff like this again. Jake Paul wants to continue
to fight, right, Tyson wants people to keep considering him
for things like that he doesn't.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Care about his legacy. Didn't you just hear he's he's
gonna die.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
I'll just do whatever till we're dead. Uh, But I mean,
but really, I mean, I like, would you. I can't
believe betters are flocking to Tyson. I really can't believe that.
When I saw that today, I said, really, really, betters
are flocking it. Seriously, this is a good Vegas is
gonna have a great day tomorrow. Man, it's gonna be awesome.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
Excitement all bounds Friday night. Let's go time now to
find out.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
What's trending from a guy who also did an interview
with a thirteen year old kid tell him that everybody's
gonna die.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
It's Steve. The Seger.
Speaker 13 (32:45):
Difference is I just said father Time is undefeated and
moved on point may thank you.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
Wow, We're all gonna be dass. Steve who cares?
Speaker 6 (32:56):
Agreed?
Speaker 3 (32:56):
But okay, we got ten minutes to go at Philadelphia
and the Eagles, who've won five.
Speaker 13 (33:02):
Straight, are in the lead. But it's just twelve ten
against the Washington Commanders. Jake Elliott with a couple of
short field goals he missed from two longer distances in
the first half, from forty four and fifty one yards,
and now he's missed an extra point kick here early
in the force. So twelve ten, the lead over Washington, Jade,
and Daniels until a moment ago. Well, yeah, he has
(33:24):
eighty one yards passing the running back Austin Eckler, but
had only thirty yards passing to anyone else the rest
of the night. Jalen Hurts with a one yard TV
run for the Philly lead again ten minutes to go.
Eagles lead twelve ten at home. Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker
will reportedly miss three to four weeks. He'll have a
procedure on his left knee Arthur scopic surgery. One NBA
(33:47):
game tonight, late third quarter at Utah, the Jazz two
and eight this year, leading Dallas eighty five seventy eight
despite Luka Donsis's twenty seven points, Kyrie Irving and the
MAVs out with a showal injury tonight No Top twenty
five games in college basketball in the NHL. Among the
ten games, Winnipeg, which was fifteen to one, lost four
(34:09):
to one at Tampa Bay and currently it's Dallas in
the final seconds up seven to two on Boston. US
men's soccer won won nothing at Jamaica and it's Nations
League quarterfinal opener in South American World Cup qualifying. Paraguay
came back to beat Argentina two to one nine minutes
to go in Philly. Twelve ten Eagles over Washington.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve, the Jason Swizow and
Mike Carmon Livethetirack dot Com Studios. We'll have more football
on the way again. Twelve ten lead by the Eagles
over Washington. But again we always say we're ahead of
the curve here on Fox Sports Radio. How about a
big sports development that could change stuff in the NBA.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
That's next right here.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
Jason to Mike Fox, I'm gonna die. I want people
to think that I'm n I'm great. I'm no.
Speaker 8 (34:59):
When nothing we dead with dust, absolutely nothing.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon
live from the tirerac dot Com Studios. Eagles still with
a twelve to ten lead over the Commander's midway through
the fourth quarter, they have the football and Saquon Barkley, Hey, Frostburg,
what's that?
Speaker 3 (35:27):
What's that smell? Saquon Barkley?
Speaker 4 (35:29):
That smells like.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
Dance pick That's what smells.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
Saquon Barkley in the end zone for a touchdown. This
gives the Eagles an eighteen to ten lead over the Commanders.
He is now over one hundred yards rushing for the night.
He has fifty yards receiving, and the Eagles, despite sleepwalking
through the first half of this game, look like they
could be on the road to getting a victory. But
(35:53):
this is what happens with the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
But will they fire their kicker?
Speaker 1 (35:57):
I don't know, Maybe get the new guy from the
do you have the let's have next week? Get whoever
that Just get whatever it is. You're right, So would
you just say Carl? They killed Jets a killing.
Speaker 4 (36:08):
They did kill Carl.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Extra point is up and Goods making a nineteen to
ten lead into the two score game. Now Elliott makes
it after missing the last extra point five minutes to
go in this one. Now, we always talk about being
ahead of the curve right and when due to circumstances
that merited it. We watched about a week or so ago.
(36:33):
JJ Reddick decide, I have to bench D'Angelo Russell. Can't
have him play, can have him start? He's killing us.
I look at some of the possessions. Turnover is careless
with the ball. He wanted to send a message and
D'Angel Russell, who is a guy that JJ Reddick was
charged with, coming in saying hey, can you help turn
him into something? And I'm like, the dude's twenty eight man,
Come on, he's not twenty one in the league's twenty eight.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
This is who he is.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
A decision that he made. Hey, he's gonna come off
the bench now. And we told you when it happened
after that first game, maybe the Lakers found something. Maybe
they ran into something because you take D'Angelo Russell out
of the starting lineup and you put the ball in
the hands of players you trust, more like Lebron James,
and look how much better and more efficient the Lakers become.
(37:18):
You can let D'Angel Russell come off the bench and
do his thing and hit shots. He's had a couple
of good games off the bench so far. Not last night,
but still He's had a couple of big games off
the bench. Everything seems fine, and Lebron James has now
reinvented himself again as a full time point guard. And
while he had a big night scoring last night, it's
not gonna be that way every night. He is much
(37:39):
more of a pass first guy, setting up the offense,
letting the offense go through him using his unbelievable basketball IQ.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
There's nothing the guy can't do. There's no position he
can't play.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
We watch him go to center a couple of years
ago and dominate, and I thought, that's what he's gonna
end his career.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
He's gonna end his career.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
As a five, and he's gonna dominate at six or
nine because he's too strong, he's too skilled. But now
you're seeing what he's doing at point guard, and the
Lakers look fantastic. Everybody else looks good. Hachimura looks good,
Austin Reeves looks good. The offense moves. AD is now
clearly the one, and it's like Lebron has made that
imperceptible nod that okay, now everything's gonna run through Ad,
(38:19):
and I'm okay with taking this voluntary step back to
run the offense because this is what's left for me
now at the end, I need to make the team
better because while I was getting all my stats, it
wasn't making us better. But now here I am in
a much different role than I'm gonna get lauded. Fortune
Lebron likes getting lauded. I'm gonna get lauded for this,
but I can also kind of very imperceptibly go, Hey,
(38:39):
this offense runs through ad and it's okay because I'm
gonna be a forty year old point guard that is
blowing the doors off of people playing at this high
level at the age of forty. The Lakers found something. Man,
that's bad news for the rest of the NBA because
all their improvement needed to come from within. This year,
we're hiring JJ Reddick. But hey, a real quick, knee
jerk decision. I'm gonna send a message to G'angelo Russell
(38:59):
and it's whoa, whoa, whoa. We really hit on something here.
Speaker 5 (39:03):
Yeah, with a lot of what you just said, it
sounded like you're on the clutch payroll fighting the basketball
IQ and at next to me words.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
Yeah, Rich Paul is handing out different bills of money
to me as I am talking right now. He just
took a bill back for me. No, but Lebron is great.
I just gave you a hundred dollar bill back. Okay, great,
don't forget.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
And Lebron still took six more shots than Anthony Davis
did and played thirty seven minutes.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
Well, now you're not getting any money. Now I'm getting
more money for saying I think that's irrelevant.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (39:32):
Rich.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Think that was another I made. I just made like
sixteen hundred dollars in the last few just it just
hand played these hundred dollar bills. This is great.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
Thirty seven stressful minutes against the grizz there without Joan, No.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Such thing as stressful minutes. That's worth five hundred Thank you, Yeah,
thank you. I appreciate that five hundred dollars bill right there.
There you go, one, two, three fourth, Bring back smarter
than Mike Harmon, you'd be making money.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
Man, you gonna play the game.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
Smart like me did. I'm not. I'm not as good
as kissing ass.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
I guess.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
I mean we were deading next to you offering you money.
Come on, man, what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (40:06):
Take the money and run, man, Come on, like the
old song from the seventy cent But yeah, no, they've
been efficient. They yesterday's game, you watch the offense work
and flow and D'Angelo Russell only three of nine from
the field in his twenty minutes, but plus six for
the night connect came off. He was plus seventeen in
his minutes. Yeah, it was a lot cleaner looking squad
(40:26):
and JJ Reddick making an impact. Right, all that talk
of Hey, they moved from Darvin Ham to a guy
who only coached fourth graders, I'd say, thus far, it's
worked out pretty well.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Yeah, look, this is this is something that was necessity
being the mother of invention, and the Lakers needed to
make a change and suddenly it's whoa, this is working
out better than we ever thought it was.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
Trust, this is a This is bad news for the
rest of the NBA. We'll have more NBA on the way.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
But coming up next, are we talking about the Eagles
escaping with a win? Plus we'll preview the biggest games
of the week in the NFL. Keep it here, Jason
Mike Fox.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon
Love from the tire rack dot Com Studios. I'll tell
you Jazzy thanking Mike Tyson, were telling her we're all
gonna die, and that's gonna live forever on this show.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
Yeah, thank you. The best reaction such such grave news
that you've ever heard.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Right, We're all gonna We're all gonna die.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
We're all gonna die.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
Uh. Eagles hold on to beat the Commanders twenty six
to eighteen, game and a half lead.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
Now for them in the NFC East, joining us now
in the hotline to break it all down?
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Is nobody better NFL on Fox Insider extraordinary? You can
fall him on Twitter at Jay Glazer. It is the
aforementioned Jay Glazer. What's up, buddy?
Speaker 7 (41:47):
What's going on? Greg? How we doing good?
Speaker 4 (41:49):
Fantastic?
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Before we get to the game, I wanted to ask,
you know, are you excited about this Tyson, Jake Paul
fight tomorrow at all?
Speaker 3 (41:56):
Something on you?
Speaker 7 (41:56):
Yeah? Absolutely absolutely, that's my ties to fight. Yeah, you know,
people ask me what I thought about it, And you know,
Mike what maybe Mike great is man when he let
that beast out of the box, like he said, you know,
Hell's coming with him. He's an annihilator, right, He's he
was just a different level. And I think he's done
so much work to put that beast back in the box.
(42:20):
And he he is. He went from one of the best,
you know, fighters of all time to one of the
best motivational speakers. Are not trying to be if you
guys go watch some of his videos are incredible. But
he talks about you know, how he kind of have
Damon's jar between these years and he's kind of navigating
like now going forward. But you know, I've told people
(42:42):
he's done so much work to put the beast in
the box. If he stays in there, he's not going
to win. And if he lets it out, he's older,
so you know, I don't know how that's going to
affect him. But that's the Mike Tyson that was the annihilator.
And I got to say this too, and the other
the other end, Jake Paul actually trained with us Unbreakable
and early on, and I thought he was going to
(43:05):
be this dag off, cocky kid. He actually wasn't. He was.
He was the most humble dude, and he trained with
me Randy get toward a Navy sealman, Jared Shaw, and
like we let him train with us with us, they
him let him box with us because he was new
and the way he kind of we do it. We
just put so much pressure on you. We don't want
(43:26):
him getting kissed with us or throwing up or not
coming back or swing it away, because that's how we
do it. We put like a relentless amount of pressure
on you. And but man, now let's see what he's done. Like, listen,
people want to wreck on Jay. Big ball boxers when
they made their way up into the boxing, you know,
(43:47):
in their career, you always get put with these pats.
He's for like the first ten, fifteen, twenty five of
your career. You know, early on you'll fight guys who
were like four and twenty two. Right, So when he's done,
he thought want some of a guys. But he's done
is way more than every other top prospect. But they've
they've ever done on their way up like they you know, again,
(44:07):
your first ten fights are guys who have like single
digit wins and usually double digital offices. So it's I'm
interested to see it. But he works his tele off.
It really does, all right.
Speaker 4 (44:20):
So before we get to the game, give us a prediction.
Speaker 3 (44:22):
What's your prediction for the fight tomorrow?
Speaker 7 (44:24):
Well, again, I don't know, like I saw smack Jake,
you know, I'm like, hey, and just his interviews like
that interviewed that little girl, like seeing cale, beast is
out of the box.
Speaker 6 (44:36):
We're going to die.
Speaker 4 (44:37):
We're all gonna die.
Speaker 3 (44:38):
Ask me these questions.
Speaker 4 (44:39):
We're all going to die. Yeah, what appro she is?
Speaker 7 (44:42):
Though? It came to me that beast is out of
the box. But at this age, like you know, I'm
not sure. Like Jake very smart. It would be very
smart to him to stay away, stay away, stay away
and just try and guess Mike later on. But man,
if you at leass hell, he'll not got anybody. I'm
going with Tyson. There we go.
Speaker 4 (45:03):
All right, all right, let's get to it bye.
Speaker 7 (45:05):
By the way, by the way real quick. Did you
see that when you guys are all gonna die? You
guys ever see that? That goofy? Could Shepherd Smith? His
web is weather Report? But he said if you remain
you guys got Google. If you remain here, you're gonna die.
Speaker 5 (45:20):
What you know?
Speaker 7 (45:21):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, you guys, if you have not
seen this, go google Shepherd Smith's weather reports. Unbelievable. We're
all gonna die.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
Jake glazy with us here Fox Sports, and again, thank
you so much for sharing that.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Jason Smith. Yeah, we already got We already got Jazz.
Speaker 4 (45:38):
He's as a drop on the show.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
Jay, We're rolling with love it.
Speaker 7 (45:41):
Uh Now.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
Now look tonight we watched the Eagles not quite motivated
in the first half. They throw the hammer down in
the second half, and Jay, I gotta be honest, as
great a year as Lamar Jackson is having, this is
the best version we've seen of him coming into the league.
It's hearts me to nart thing. Saquon Barkley with what
he's doing is not the MVP of the NFL right now.
He has done everything for this Eagles team since he's
(46:02):
come in.
Speaker 7 (46:03):
I think he's done a really good job there. Yeah,
I don't know about MVP, just you know, talk about Lamar,
but also like why is always talking about Patrick like
they're undefeated? We just forget about it. But also with
you know, with Derek Hembery's do over there. However, Yes,
I think Lamar, I mean I think that that Saquan
is such a great pickup for them. It's exactly what
(46:25):
Jalen deeds. You know, Jalen like a guy like Jalen.
We we can't of need things to slow down. To
have a guy like what Saquon back there, and then
you can't just focus and tee off on Jalen his fantastic.
Speaker 4 (46:38):
For them, James, look at the squad and they love.
Speaker 7 (46:41):
The the lockerhum, they love being the locker room. They
love them.
Speaker 5 (46:44):
Twenty six eighteen, your final tonight, Eagles moved to eight
and two behind the big Barkley explosion?
Speaker 4 (46:50):
Are they second only to the Lions in the NFC
in your estimation?
Speaker 7 (46:56):
I think the Niners gonna be back up there again.
You know they were later on. But yeah, well look
thinking about Philly though, it's they kind of almost getting
the own way. It's like the sky is always falling.
But I look at it. They started two and two
this year and everybody wanted everybody fired, like you couldn't
come together. It's just how it always is. I mean,
(47:17):
they ran Andy Reid out of town, Peterson has that
Super Bowl just it's how it is. It just gets
there's so much noise that they can keep the noise
at a minimum. Then yes, absolutely, personal wise, they're fantastic.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
Now, Jay, look at that you mentioned. You mentioned Patrick Mahomes.
Obviously that's the game of the week this week Buffalo
and the Chiefs. Josh Allen's had really good success in
the regular season against the Chiefs. The Chiefs has been
playing extremely well, finishing stuff in the fourth quarter. What
do you think looking at that? I mean, this is
the game of the year so far.
Speaker 7 (47:47):
What do you think about looking at I think it's
a fantastic game. But yeah, I mean I think it's
the type of a measuring stiff game for Buffalo. You know,
it's uh, you know, it's interesting too because I remember
in the drafts, like Buffalo, this is who they have
to try and to get above right, it's got to
beat the Chiefs. But then when the first round comes,
(48:09):
the Chiefs call them make a deal for Worthy, and
I always crashed my head of that clone. Why would
you ever? I don't care what they were giving up,
do anything to help King Kong, but that's who you're
trying to beat, and they're the ones who made the
trade that allow the Chiefs get Worthy. So I've always
kind of like, huh, I wonder why I would like,
I know, you want to get extra draft picks, but
(48:30):
I don't care what it is. If you're if it's
King Kong who you need to knock off? The Empire
State Bulet, it's calling you the man. We can improve
our team by moving up. There's no way I would
have done Jay.
Speaker 5 (48:43):
One of the other massive games of the week, Mike
Tomlin and the Steelers home dogs to the Baltimore Ravens
the aforementioned Lamar Jackson, but between the hey refer to
him as mister Jackson when asked about Jayden Williams and
Jay Daniels.
Speaker 4 (48:58):
And now you move into this week, what's he got
cooking for him?
Speaker 7 (49:03):
But I mean, I love this matchup, but obviously, you know,
look there both cultures are violence, and I'm thinking, I
don't know those you guys just be like whenever I
go around camp, I don't know what's going on, Like
I don't know what you're working on for that day
and we have no idea. But people will go, how
do we look today?
Speaker 3 (49:20):
Who is wait? Who is it that you told the
one time? How do you guys?
Speaker 7 (49:24):
Like?
Speaker 1 (49:24):
Man, you guys look terrible. It's the worst team, I say,
and they thought you were. Seriously, who did you say
that to?
Speaker 7 (49:29):
I forget who was I was like you you are
like I don't know what I'm looking at.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
Who you guys are gonna suck this year?
Speaker 4 (49:37):
Wait?
Speaker 7 (49:38):
What? I don't remember? Who was? I feel I can
feel culture and both the Steelers, actually the Three Kings
that I felt this culture of violence. And I didn't
go to the lines this year, but I know they
have it. But the Steelers, the Ravens and Eagles just
had it. Man, they were just itching to smash somebody.
(49:59):
And that's what you want that, you know, Mike, He's
a culture guy, right, John Harball is a culture guy.
They're not these offensive theories of people try to bring
in their culture guys. And they are a very similar
culture in that is a culture of violence.
Speaker 4 (50:13):
Now, I know you had the big guest this week
on Veterans Day.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
You had a in your words, badass Special Operations are
arranger on.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Tell us about your guest this week?
Speaker 7 (50:24):
Oh, J C. Glick Man. He's incredible. He's done a
countless missions overseas. He is a true American hero and
badass and three Bronze Stars and several other medals, and
he was always in the thick of it. But he
is a thoughtful warrior like he and I have really
in a lot and we've helped a lot of He
(50:44):
was part of a my MVT foundation for a while,
but we've helped a lot of other veterans after the
uniform comes off, with help some athletes together. But he
is just when he talks for what his experiences are.
You listen. And we talked about this on the podcast.
But the first time we hung out man at the
(51:04):
NFL owners meeting, we're talking to all the owners and
but we hung out in New York be him and
I think Randy could to work and there was a
guy there something there's somebody there or the story came
up where he ran into this guy, an Iraqi guy.
He looked down and he says, he looks at these
tattoos of this guy's hand, and he says, uh, you
(51:27):
don't remember what we do you we met before the
guys like we have. He's like Sadam's Palace. I was
the one who snatched you out of there. He literally
what Tom's you know, pensilops, Guys, that's about extracted him
Like there's a bad dude right here, so listen to him.
(51:47):
Is the thing is, though I always told you guys,
like no one's questioned my man. So I can be vulnerable, right,
I could open up about all stuff. Ja c glicks
the same way. You're not gonna question his manhood and
his bat askery. So he really opens up at cool stuff.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
Unbreakable a Mental Wealth podcast. You get the link right
off of Jay's Twitter account at Jake Laser.
Speaker 4 (52:07):
Oh I buried the lead. Jay, I saw you brought
your wife to the Rams game the other night? Did
you actually do work?
Speaker 7 (52:13):
Well?
Speaker 4 (52:14):
She with it? Was it like a date night?
Speaker 3 (52:15):
Or like, did you they don't go?
Speaker 4 (52:17):
Like what happens?
Speaker 7 (52:18):
Let me tell you the deal. She goes to Rams
games with Chelmsday's wife, Veronica McVay, and she's three and
oh she was going through the game. Oh wow, So
I didn't want to go to the game unto like,
oh no, she going to the game, like Sean gets
all superstitious. Oh no, she's going to the game. So
we had no choice. Better go to the game. And uh,
(52:39):
well she's out three.
Speaker 4 (52:40):
And one, so we're not over Wait wait, what what's
your record at the games?
Speaker 7 (52:46):
I don't go to games overly, but it was great.
It's great being out there, you know what's I love
being out there for those things. Can I get to
the FAM. And and why I say the fam, all
these cats in the NFL, that's my fam.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
Again. Great stuff from Jay on Twitter at Jay Glazer. Buddy,
keep fighting the good fight as always. Man, we'll talk
to you next week.
Speaker 4 (53:03):
Have fun.
Speaker 7 (53:04):
Hey, Rosie, I just Rosie. I just outed you as
been three and one.
Speaker 9 (53:07):
Sorry, and again, thank you so much for sharing that.
Speaker 4 (53:12):
You're the best Jay.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
See you, buddy.
Speaker 4 (53:15):
Yeah. Now Rosie can't go to the games anymore.
Speaker 3 (53:17):
She's done well.
Speaker 5 (53:18):
But that's why I had to ask if that was
his first game. They can pin the loss on him.
Was he getting church text from McVeigh after that one?
They're gonna Eric Dickerson her, No, you can't go to
the games. You get no Disneyland passes or anything else. Yeah,
you're done.
Speaker 4 (53:33):
You can't go to Disneyland. That was part of the
Dickerson day. Man. No, I know
