So a game that was close early, and we thanked
the Cowboys for keeping it close as long as they could.
A seventeen to ten first half game that made it
seem like the Texans really underperforming well turned into a
thirty four to ten Texans blowout of the Cowboys. They
went to improve to seven and four. The Cowboys are
three and seven their season is done. And to add

insult to injury, you had them give up the backbreaking
touchdown tonight when an offensive lineman fumbled the ball that
he caught that was knocked in the air. This hours
after a piece of the roof of at and T
Stadium fell off and the roof had to be closed
for this game. Luckily nobody was hurt. Big door fell
down or big piece of metal from the ceiling, so

they closed the door. And this was the story for
the Dallas Cowboys coming into this game.

And well, even though this game was bad.

I don't think anything's gonna take away from the fact
that the Cowboys the roof is falling or the sky
is now falling.

The metaphor for that just too rich to ignore, my carman.

It's too easy aheadline, too easy a punch line, and
it'll be all over the place. And certainly all the
graphics builders and memes from last week about the sun
creeping into the stadium now you add more. So at
least they're giving us that for social media content. So

cowboys giving us headlines, punchlines, et cetera.

Yeah, they at least showed some fight. I give him credit.

They could have laid down when Cooper Rush went over
three hundred and fifty yards. Now, the bad interception that
he threw, and obviously the defensive touchdown after the fumble,
you can't take those things away. But literally and figuratively
they at least showed a little bit of fight for
that in state rivalry.

I don't know what that gets them. Is there a
trophy they give away?

They just cut up that piece of metal and everybody
gets piece like it's a basketball in net at the
Final four?

here's the the Packers and the Steelers getting after it,
and everybody's seeing it for the first time on this
grand stage, and all the bars and restaurants.

And lines to get in and everything else. And we're
already at the point where stuff's falling off, you.

You know, when you see this story, you're like, okay,
so the piece of the roof falling off is so
incredibly embarrassing, but okay, these things can happen.

You know, you don't you haven't done any maintenance. That's
like someone that hasn't.

Run their air conditioning for a couple of years and
then it comes on and it spits out a bunch
of dust, fibers and everything, and then it craps out like,
oh man, we probably to use.

It, you know, see but here, but here's where it's.

It's worse than it was, right because obviously the headlines
of Jerry Jones and this billions of whatever, however much
the stadium was and look at look at where it
is right now, and and look at and disrepair and
its okay, it's a piece of metal fell off the roof, right, Okay,
it fell through And you're thinking, all right, it was
it fell off in the process of opening.

There was some kind of mechanism that hits something and
knocked the piece of metal.

they're not flying. Yeah, but that's really hog it a
flying rat, that's a whole other thing. But you're really
far away from the food if you're a rat. I
mean that's really far away, Like you want to be
closer to the food if you're a rat.

Uh So, like you think, okay, something like that could happen.
I could see it. No, no, no, it was in
the process of opening the Cowboy attributed high winds during
the day contributing to the piece of metal falling. So
it was too windy and the piece fell off. So
if it was that windy, why were you opening them?
To be concerned to make those heads? For two years,

you hadn't opened them. That was your response to the
criticism about the sunlight in CD Lamb's eyes. Hey, you
know what, in two for two years, we haven't done
this since we ludgend the Bears a couple of years ago.
I tried to get up there to put a curtain
up and over that was a piece of metal that
was shining in CD's eye, so I wanted to make
sure that was covered and just had one of those

oopsie moments, and you know, a big piece of metal
fell off, and I climbed out off the big ladder
and I told Steven, hey, you got to clean that
up and come get me when this is this no
one's talking about this anymore. I realized that you're gonna
come get me in like three weeks, So okay, we'll
I'll try to do something good to maybe deflect the attention.
Maybe I'll hire Belichick and fire McCarthy do that the

press confer. Okay, right, got my plans, Stephen, thank you
very much much.

Really some next level stuff to this one man.

It's like, okay, like a piece fell off. Okay, it
happens right, Like it's suck when you hear it's weird.
When you hear like, oh a piece fell off a plane,
a piece fell off that, it's like, whoa.

But then you realize, Okay, there's mechanisms, there's things, there's
shorts in in in whatever pulling lever systems are going
mechanized stuff.

And the wind huffed and he puffed and he blew
that piece of metal off onto the ground, and uh,
we had to close the roof for the knot. So
uh that's kind of what happened. Like, I mean, really,
I bet like like I'm picturing you know, like the
big bed wolf showing up in us blowing on at

and T Stadium, and let's see what.

We can shake off. Oh, there it goes on there.
You're gonna have to cancel the game that I can't play.

And there's nothing nothing is stable, No one is safe
at at and T Stadium.

Of course, naturally, I started trying to weather websites that
are gonna tell me how windy it was today. Just
you gotta have an excuse slash reason. I get it.
It's just when everything else has been an abject failure,
and the overriding sense of your decision making and taking

responsibility for said decision making is at an all time low.

This was the last thing you needed, man, This was
the last thing.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
It's the proverbial cherry on top of the Sunday of
all this has gone wrong with the squad, all the
decisions on personnel and contracts and everything else. Oh, by
the way, we don't even take care of our facility properly,
you know, the crown jewel as it was one's gold,
you know, and we're not even doing regular maintenance inspections

because we've got other things. I've got to figure out
how to fix this got you know, we brought back
Zeke and he's not running the ball.

I thought we could turn the clock back to like
twenty fifteen.

I didn't know you couldn't do that. Like I thought we.

Got Zeke like he was frozen in time, like when
we let him go and he was twenty six.

that way.

Okay, Yeah, looking at the weather, there wasn't a whole
lot of winds.

If I'm reading this right, but it says right now.

I mean the the you know, the the ap ESPN
story on it. The Cowboys attributed high winds during the
day Monday to contributing to the piece of metal falling,
and that the roof would remain closed for Monday night's game.

I don't I don't know what else. It was windy,
Let's close the roof. It's like me being, oh boy,
it's windy, let's close the window. Okay, we'll close the
window now.

No, they had they had some winds and hail in
the early morning commute, like on yesterday in the overnight,
so you know, some wind wind damage reported across North
Texas as the storms went through DFW. So if that
is the case, and it seems like it's calm down now,
but if it was bad, what made you decide, Hey,

the sky's blue because the.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Storm came through. So that's opening this up. Like I
don't get it. I don't get it.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
And this is the basic maintenance. People take care of
basic maintenance. Your cars, your homes, check your roof, make
sure that the shingles aren't gonna start flying.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
I mean, this is the worst story for the cow
this this is what you know, because this could like
stand for the entire seats as bad as things are.
Then the stadium started falling apart. Oh okay, right, at
least with the trop in Tampa. It was Hurricane Helene,
and it was it was stunning to watch. It was
a huge act of nature that did this and it

was something that no one could expect. And look, it's
when you get to a category four and five hurricane.
This is just high winds in the area. Some metal
came off the roof of what's supposed to be the
greatest stadium in the world, at least is the greatest
stadium in the world.

They just had all the fans there for Tyson and.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Paul on over over the weekend and and now this
this is what happens on Monday night. Yeah, we're gonna
do We're gonna have to close the roof because, yeah,
the roof is falling apart.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Yeah that's great, We're good.

I mean, could think about that for a second too,
is like, okay, you had a piece fall off the roof,
and I get that it's big money and you know
the NFL the big deal that it is, but you know,
a piece fell off a roof. And the decision was just, yeah,
we're gonna close the roof and we're gonna play the
game like anything else you need to look at.

Now, it's gonna close the roof and they'll be fine.
I mean, that's what we're gonna do.

Then we've had a quick inspection, nothing else is but
a minute, and you know, nothing else is gonna fall
off imminently.

Like it's like going into moving into a new house
and I accidentally put a hole in the wall for something.

Stuff stand there, and then he hires a couple of
guys go up there and clean it off at the end,
like like when you have a guy's clean your gutters
and just just just you know, spray everything off. At
the end of the year, going yeah, no, it's all good.
Ready for the spring. Now winter season's over. Got rid
of all the all the.

Here's a couple of tennis balls that were hit up there,
a couple of whiffle balls down the line.

But that like we make light of it, but like, legitimately,
this is potentially catastrophic, man. Just yeah, the fact that
nobody got hurt is like, all right, we dodged, we
dodged it, released the hounds, let him onto the party deck.

Yeah, I mean, it's I it's really It just baffles
you that this is what happens and Jerry's world, right, Like,
I mean just just two days after the after the
after the Tyson Paul fight. Two days after yeah, high
winds and and and the uh and the piece of
the roof fell off.

But but then you still just playing business as normal.
I know it's the machine and all. But didn't did
they have to get someone from the state to come
and sign off on that or was it like, hey,
it closed, we're good man, Like would put some duct
tape on it?

big soft rock hits of the seventies because the guys
from air supploer on. I also saw, you can get
this tape that really works, and we can maybe just
fix the roof that way, just put a big piece
of tape.

The guy fixed the boat, and he went out there
in the boat waving everybody.

it's about what nineteen ninety five plus shipping and handling.
But if you tell them you're Stephen Jones'll they'll get

of the salary, some of the fee for you. Maybe

off the news sites in Dallas, that they did have
the storm and it was a big deal. Okay, but
that still means that it was a tenuous situation if
it ripped apart that easily. Right, a multi billion dollar stadium,

I get it, High Wins shouldn't have been at that
level of being compromised at a basic term. So now
Jerry has a lawsuit potentially against the people that built it.
What's the statute of limitations? What's the warranty?
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Hey? Hey, this is why Jerry Jones is playing chess
while we're playing checkers. Instead.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
If he had used like the eight million dollars to
sign Derrick Henry, he wouldn't have enough money to.

And now suddenly who knows, look at that you wanted
me to sign the Henry kid. Well, look, I wouldn't
be able to take care of this, wouldn't have home games.

playing there and I wouldn't be making the money I would,
So I'd rather lose the games and make all the
money here and go forward.

This is just how it goes in the NFL. You
want to be playing your best football as you get

and wear at week eleven, right, so you still have
a long way to go, and are they really going
to keep this level of football up?

and forty points, I mean, that's just those are things
that get people hurt. That gets a little bit of

or Montgomery or Golf or Saint Brown or Jamison Williams.
That gets these guys hurt, because there is nobody more
pissed off than a player on a team that's going,
that's out there playing, that's getting it put to them,
and you're laughing at them and you're saying, we're gonna
do whatever the hell we want to get the I
get the idea of what we put stuff on tape.

the fourth quarter of a game. You're up by thirty
five and you're still doing that. I was, I'm going,
oh man, I'm watching this fourth quarter. And and you know,
my wife's family is in town this week and they
they came in for my birthday, which is really cool,
and they came in. We're watching the game, and they
are all the incredible Lions fans. I mean, the Lions
gear that's being worn in my living room.

This weekend was insane.

I'm like this, I feel like this is like nineteen
fifty any and Bobby Lane is playing quarterback.

You know, did you bring it? And did they bring
you anything from the fond Sarah? That's really.

They brought me a Wayne Fonts game worn shirt, so
I have that.

See you're a liar. You would have sent me a
picture of it. As soon as you put that thing on.

And they were and I'm going, oh man, and they're
like what And I said, well, you know, we talked
what was going on, and I said, this is stuff
that gets guys hurt. And every play like they're throwing
down field and I'm like, what are they doing? Just
you're up by thirty five, take the w and go home.
You gain, the game is over. You did everything you
wanted to do. You won this game. Yes, Dan Campbell
is gonna get and this is part of cambling.

You've got your offensive line, all of that, the extra
creativity and certainly the shots downfield. Yeah, but we've seen
the Jaguars. How many times have they quit on on
Peterson this year? I've lost count.

Oh, like I said it, would take the Jaguars doing
something superhuman like actually making a play. But you never
know what You never know what happened on any kind
of play, any kind of block, one of your offensive linemen.

What of you know, any any fanbody is pissed off.

Hey, I'm pissed off, So I'm gonna give you a
little bit extra. And that's where injuries happen. They always
happen with a little bit extra. That happens. You got
a pissed off team going. They just ran a bleep
in reverse after going for it on fourth down? They
they just did Are you kidding me?

And then suddenly look what happens on the next play.

I really I was the entire fourth quarter. I'm going, man,
I'm nervous. Just run the football. Just put Hendon Hooker
in the game and run the football. And then just
and and and and you know, I don't know, you
Hendon Hooker on the field.

At some point, I'm like, how many what else does
Jared Goff have to prove?
Speaker 4 (24:44):
You were just trying to embarrass Pam's family at that point,
because this is.

Like the eighth game in a row he's had more
touchdowns and incompletions why does he still need to be out.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
There for his MVP case. Oh, Man, because he wanted
to be out there to take the kneel down.

I mean, I was really nervous for a while. Man.

Luckily, like I said, Dan Campbell's been rolling sevens all year.
He makes a ridiculously bad decision to settle for a
fifty two yard field goal against the Texas and it works.
You've been rolling sevens, but eventually you roll snake eyes.
This is the Dan Campbell way. He's cambeling his way along.
We're getting into the holiday season. It's the holidays.

Gotta be fair though. I mean you're usually yelling him
for going on and on fourth down all the time.
So when he actually kicked that field goal, it was
the antic antithesis of what he's normally is, right, I mean,
he's the aggressive, offensive guy, fight knee caps and then
he took that field goal. Yeah, so he listened to
all your prior yelling at him and said, all right,

I'll do what Smith wants me to do instead of
actually moving forward. But in this particular case, succeed and proceed.
Fortunately they come out unscathed. Maybe in the final weeks
of the season, some of that is a little different,
but I don't think so. I think that's just you
Dan Campbell is and it's full throttle. You're not going
to face the Jaguars again, so you won't, in theory,

have another forty point burial, although the Cowboys didn't offer
much resistance either, did they? And now the Bears Bears
defense is pretty good. They can hold them to forty Yeah, sure, yeah,

Okay, I could tell the story because okay, I well,
screw it. I'll just tell it anyway. So we're watching
the game yesterday, right, this is Pam's family, and there's
a there. Everybody's in the living room. We're all watching
the game and Pam's aunt. I always always say I
want to do a feature on the show called Ask
Aunt Janet, because she knows absolutely nothing about sports.

This Aunt jant knows nothing.

If you've been talking about Aunt Janet for a decade,
I feel like she's a member of the family.

Yeah, like she like she was staying at Pam's cousins,
at her daughter's house.

Like, you know, we had a whole bunch of family
in town and she's staying there, and you know, we
have the NFL package, and so she sends me a
text saying, hey, do you have the Lions game?

We're gonna come over. And I said, I have the Lion.

Game if you can tell me the name of anybody
who has played for the Lions in the last twenty years.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
And she goes, just tell me if you have the Lions.
I said, yeah, come on over.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
So she comes over watching the game and it's a blowout, right,
They're killed. And Janet's like on her phone and she's
playing a computer game and she's reading stuff. And then
she you know, she you know, we're kind of being
loutle because we're then we're flipping back you were watching
the games on the four boxes and everything else, and
she's okay, So she goes to the other room to read.
So she goes to the other room to read, like
in the like when it was fifty two to six
was the final score?
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Right?
Speaker 1 (27:31):
She was in what was fifty two to six? She
comes back in like, I don't know, forty five minutes
later and goes, oh.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
So gate Lions game over? They win?
Speaker 1 (27:38):
I go nose what I go to fifty three fifty
two and everybody just stops. It was like yeah, she
and then she doesn't say anything, and then no one
else says anything. And then like after like thirty seconds
go by, we started the conversation. She goes, how did
they lose that game? They were winning fifty two to six.
How did they lose? I said, ah, touchdown after touchdown

after the and her husband goes, oh, they scored a
super touchdown, which is a new thing, and it was
a super touchdown and there and she's looking around like
she still doesn't know if it were.

Kidding or not.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
And I go, fifty three fifty two is a final. Look,
I'll show you on my phone. And I said, I go,
I'm gonna look it up. And I just send myself
a text that says Jaguars fifty three. Why it's fifty two,
And I go, here's the score. Here's oh, Jason, that's
a text message on your phone.

Maybe it could have been for me. I would have
gone along with the ruse. All you had to do
was text me.

So then she realized that they didn't lose fifty two
to six.

I mean that would I mean, even the lines in
their history, you blow a fifty two six lead middle
of the fourth quarter like.

That like that would have been special, would have been
really good.

pretty much cement as far as the Bills coming out
off of this game and a big win and when
they need it, if they're going to try to clinch

home field, if they weren't going to get it, forget it.

It was impossible.

The Chiefs, the chief possible probability of getting home field
advantage for the playoffs is over ninety percent. Right, You
don't want to if you're another team, you don't want
to play in in Burrowhead.

This in the playoffs, you want to go play in
burrow It was Burrowhead.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
It was a game that Bills needed.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
And you know, I go back, and sometimes I tell
you that I watch Josh Allen lead drives and there's
times when I go, this is the best quarterback I've
ever seen. He is absolutely unstoppable. When I know when
he throws the ball, when he keeps it, he is
just going to get chunk yardage on every play. And
obviously it's not that's not the case because look, Josh
(34:54):
Allen gets the points where he gets mortal.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
He's mortal. He makes bad.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Decisions, he's not able to make plays. Sometimes downfield, he
turns the ball over, but by and large, there's times
when he is rolling where I go, wow, there is
he is absolutely unstoppable.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
And this game yesterday, you know if and I know
that this is kind of They're not there.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
They've not been reliant on this one thing as much
the last years because they've been leaning their way out
of it because they have a better running game than
they ever had with James Cook, and they don't need
Josh Allen his design runs as much. Guy's just as
dangerous from the pocket, and he does take off when
when there's room for him to do that. But there's
(35:37):
just something different about his game when they dial up
designed runs for him. And when that's a big part
of the game plan. I know, you want to keep
your quarterback healthy and he's a bigger guy, and you
don't want him to hit thirty one, thirty two and
suddenly be hey, you're done, like Cam Newton. But you
also have to take advantage of the talents that you
have from your quarterback to win games. And just watching
(35:59):
how the Bills could run the ball yesterday at all,
but Josh Allen had success when he was able to
take it. Look at twelve rushing attempts yesterday. If the
Bills called more designed rushes for him, that would open
up the playbook, It would open up the running game,
open up the passing game, and there's no way they
don't make the super Bowl because when he is having
(36:20):
that kind of a game and he's just a different quarterback,
when he's got the design runs and he's laying laying
punishment on and he's gaining big chunk yards and suddenly
the defense, hey, we have to worry about this and this,
and you're playing back on your heels and Alan's moving
the ball downfield. If they would dial up more and
make that much more of a bigger part of the game,
plan instead of like four or five times a week,
(36:41):
you know, how about ten or twelve, how about ten
or fifteen design runs a game. I can take for
a couple of less runs from James Cook or Davis
or whatever you want to do, or to call a
couple things either near the goal line or in the
middle of the field when you have something going on.
But there's just he has that little bit more added
swagger to his game and the team is a little
(37:01):
bit more dangerous, and especially if you think coming down
the stretch running the football might not be as easy
as it was earlier in the year. This is also
way to juice out the running game a little bit.
But if the Bills go to that more and Allen's
in double digits with his carries a little bit over,
you know, not so close to ten. If he's like
a twelve or fourteen a week, yeah, I can't see
(37:22):
anybody stopping the Bills because that's just that's just a
skill set that nobody else in the NFL can do
and have that kind of effect on the game. And
if he does that, the Bills will go to the
super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
You know, we've been doing this show a long while
and well for those that are new to it, go
to the well once once in a while, usually around
the holidays. The old my mom had the I'm gonna
save it for good mentality on stuff. Hey he got
a really nice Christmas gift. What happened back in the closet?
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Mom?

Why don't you use that for good? We're not good enough.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
We're here now, a table, you know, it needs the
whatever it is, whether it was a kitchen gadget or
maybe we got a nice piece of clothing, whatever it was,
it was, Oh, save it for good. Okay, fine. For
Josh Allen this year, they've had the luxury of hey,
let's save that part of his game for good.

and it was here, took care of a couple odds

then I get in the car and I'm listening to

and Schwartz immediately goes, yeah, I'm taking the over on
the Josh Allen rushing it down, said seven and a half,

and he went through the history against the Chiefs, and
wouldn't you know it, there's a bunch of double digit
carries mixed therein. I think this goes back to the
conversation we were having a little bit earlier and do
with some regularity of who's got something left that they're
not showing you on a week to week basis, And
that's where Josh Allen's ability to run the football and
(39:01):
put his head down like the old Clyde Drexler Lebron
James meme of all right, I'm just gonna drive India.
If you stand there, it's your fault, all right, Homer Simpson,
all right, pie, if you stay there, you're gonna get eaten.
And then he starts walking towards it while you know,
in opening and closing his mouth and eventually hits his
head on the wall.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
But you know that kind of thing where you have
this in reserve.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
For games where you need it, and this week, no
Keon Coleman, no Dalton Kincaid. Obviously James Cook had the
two rushing touchdowns, but only twenty yards on his nine attempts.
So yeah, this is where the old put the Superman
cape on and go to work. Thing happened for him
and he's been so good at taking care of the football.
So now you add that to it, Jason, come playoff time.

That's a whole other element you gotta defend and worry about.

And I feel like you have to have it, you know,
save it for good as now because you want that home.
You want to play at home. You don't want to
go to Arrowhead. You don't want to do that. And
you need to win the rest of the way to
try to make that a re reality. Like this, it's
a big deal. Like if you you're playing that game
in Arrowhead, good bleep in luck man. We you see
the fifty to fifty calls that don't go your way.

So a game that was close early, and we thanked
the Cowboys for keeping it close as long as they could.
A seventeen to ten first half game that made it
seem like the Texans really underperforming well turned into a
thirty four to ten Texans blowout of the Cowboys. They
went to improve to seven and four. The Cowboys are
three and seven their season is done. And to add

insult to injury, you had them give up the backbreaking
touchdown tonight when an offensive lineman fumbled the ball that
he caught that was knocked in the air. This hours
after a piece of the roof of at and T
Stadium fell off and the roof had to be closed
for this game. Luckily nobody was hurt. Big door fell
down or big piece of metal from the ceiling, so
(01:35):
they closed the door. And this was the story for
the Dallas Cowboys coming into this game.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
And well, even though this game was bad.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
I don't think anything's gonna take away from the fact
that the Cowboys the roof is falling or the sky
is now falling.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
The metaphor for that just too rich to ignore, my carman.

No, that's just it.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
It's too easy aheadline, too easy a punch line, and
it'll be all over the place. And certainly all the
graphics builders and memes from last week about the sun
creeping into the stadium now you add more. So at
least they're giving us that for social media content. So

cowboys giving us headlines, punchlines, et cetera.

Yeah, they at least showed some fight. I give him credit.

They could have laid down when Cooper Rush went over
three hundred and fifty yards. Now, the bad interception that
he threw, and obviously the defensive touchdown after the fumble,
you can't take those things away. But literally and figuratively
they at least showed a little bit of fight for
that in state rivalry.

I don't know what that gets them. Is there a
trophy they give away?

They just cut up that piece of metal and everybody
gets piece like it's a basketball in net at the
Final four?

there you get to whatever memorability they make of the night.

This is just high winds in the area. Some metal
came off the roof of what's supposed to be the

You've been rolling sevens, but eventually you roll snake eyes.

So when he actually kicked that field goal, it was
the antic antithesis of what he's normally is, right, I mean,

Fortunately they come out unscathed. Maybe in the final weeks

I feel like she's a member of the family.

Yeah, like she like she was staying at Pam's cousins,
at her daughter's house.

Like, you know, we had a whole bunch of family
in town and she's staying there, and you know, we
have the NFL package, and so she sends me a
text saying, hey, do you have the Lions game?

We're gonna come over. And I said, I have the Lion.

Game if you can tell me the name of anybody
who has played for the Lions in the last twenty years.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
And she goes, just tell me if you have the Lions.
I said, yeah, come on over.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
So she comes over watching the game and it's a blowout, right,
They're killed. And Janet's like on her phone and she's
playing a computer game and she's reading stuff. And then
she you know, she you know, we're kind of being
loutle because we're then we're flipping back you were watching
the games on the four boxes and everything else, and
she's okay, So she goes to the other room to read.
So she goes to the other room to read, like
in the like when it was fifty two to six
was the final score?
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Right?
Speaker 1 (27:31):
She was in what was fifty two to six? She
comes back in like, I don't know, forty five minutes
later and goes, oh.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
So gate Lions game over? They win?
Speaker 1 (27:38):
I go nose what I go to fifty three fifty
two and everybody just stops. It was like yeah, she
and then she doesn't say anything, and then no one
else says anything. And then like after like thirty seconds
go by, we started the conversation. She goes, how did
they lose that game? They were winning fifty two to six.
How did they lose? I said, ah, touchdown after touchdown

after the and her husband goes, oh, they scored a
super touchdown, which is a new thing, and it was
a super touchdown and there and she's looking around like
she still doesn't know if it were.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Kidding or not.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
And I go, fifty three fifty two is a final. Look,
I'll show you on my phone. And I said, I go,
I'm gonna look it up. And I just send myself
a text that says Jaguars fifty three. Why it's fifty two,
And I go, here's the score. Here's oh, Jason, that's
a text message on your phone.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Maybe it could have been for me. I would have
gone along with the ruse. All you had to do
was text me.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
So then she realized that they didn't lose fifty two
to six.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
I mean that would I mean, even the lines in
their history, you blow a fifty two six lead middle
of the fourth quarter like.

That like that would have been special, would have been
really good.

pretty much cement as far as the Bills coming out
off of this game and a big win and when
they need it, if they're going to try to clinch

home field, if they weren't going to get it, forget it.

It was impossible.

The Chiefs, the chief possible probability of getting home field
advantage for the playoffs is over ninety percent. Right, You
don't want to if you're another team, you don't want
to play in in Burrowhead.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
This in the playoffs, you want to go play in
burrow It was Burrowhead.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
It was a game that Bills needed.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
And you know, I go back, and sometimes I tell
you that I watch Josh Allen lead drives and there's
times when I go, this is the best quarterback I've
ever seen. He is absolutely unstoppable. When I know when
he throws the ball, when he keeps it, he is
just going to get chunk yardage on every play. And
obviously it's not that's not the case because look, Josh
(34:54):
Allen gets the points where he gets mortal.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
He's mortal. He makes bad.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Decisions, he's not able to make plays. Sometimes downfield, he
turns the ball over, but by and large, there's times
when he is rolling where I go, wow, there is
he is absolutely unstoppable.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
And this game yesterday, you know if and I know
that this is kind of They're not there.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
They've not been reliant on this one thing as much
the last years because they've been leaning their way out
of it because they have a better running game than
they ever had with James Cook, and they don't need
Josh Allen his design runs as much. Guy's just as
dangerous from the pocket, and he does take off when
when there's room for him to do that. But there's
(35:37):
just something different about his game when they dial up
designed runs for him. And when that's a big part
of the game plan. I know, you want to keep
your quarterback healthy and he's a bigger guy, and you
don't want him to hit thirty one, thirty two and
suddenly be hey, you're done, like Cam Newton. But you
also have to take advantage of the talents that you
have from your quarterback to win games. And just watching
(35:59):
how the Bills could run the ball yesterday at all,
but Josh Allen had success when he was able to
take it. Look at twelve rushing attempts yesterday. If the
Bills called more designed rushes for him, that would open
up the playbook, It would open up the running game,
open up the passing game, and there's no way they
don't make the super Bowl because when he is having
(36:20):
that kind of a game and he's just a different quarterback,
when he's got the design runs and he's laying laying
punishment on and he's gaining big chunk yards and suddenly
the defense, hey, we have to worry about this and this,
and you're playing back on your heels and Alan's moving
the ball downfield. If they would dial up more and
make that much more of a bigger part of the game,
plan instead of like four or five times a week,
(36:41):
you know, how about ten or twelve, how about ten
or fifteen design runs a game. I can take for
a couple of less runs from James Cook or Davis
or whatever you want to do, or to call a
couple things either near the goal line or in the
middle of the field when you have something going on.
But there's just he has that little bit more added
swagger to his game and the team is a little
(37:01):
bit more dangerous, and especially if you think coming down
the stretch running the football might not be as easy
as it was earlier in the year. This is also
way to juice out the running game a little bit.
But if the Bills go to that more and Allen's
in double digits with his carries a little bit over,
you know, not so close to ten. If he's like
a twelve or fourteen a week, yeah, I can't see
(37:22):
anybody stopping the Bills because that's just that's just a
skill set that nobody else in the NFL can do
and have that kind of effect on the game. And
if he does that, the Bills will go to the
super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
You know, we've been doing this show a long while
and well for those that are new to it, go
to the well once once in a while, usually around
the holidays. The old my mom had the I'm gonna
save it for good mentality on stuff. Hey he got
a really nice Christmas gift. What happened back in the closet?
Speaker 2 (37:50):

Speaker 4 (37:50):
Why don't you use that for good? We're not good enough.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
We're here now, a table, you know, it needs the
whatever it is, whether it was a kitchen gadget or
maybe we got a nice piece of clothing, whatever it was,
it was, Oh, save it for good. Okay, fine. For
Josh Allen this year, they've had the luxury of hey,
let's save that part of his game for good.

and it was here, took care of a couple odds

and Schwartz immediately goes, yeah, I'm taking the over on
the Josh Allen rushing it down, said seven and a half,

and he went through the history against the Chiefs, and
wouldn't you know it, there's a bunch of double digit
carries mixed therein. I think this goes back to the
conversation we were having a little bit earlier and do
with some regularity of who's got something left that they're
not showing you on a week to week basis, And
that's where Josh Allen's ability to run the football and
(39:01):
put his head down like the old Clyde Drexler Lebron
James meme of all right, I'm just gonna drive India.
If you stand there, it's your fault, all right, Homer Simpson,
all right, pie, if you stay there, you're gonna get eaten.
And then he starts walking towards it while you know,
in opening and closing his mouth and eventually hits his
head on the wall.

But you know that kind of thing where you have
this in reserve.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
For games where you need it, and this week, no
Keon Coleman, no Dalton Kincaid. Obviously James Cook had the
two rushing touchdowns, but only twenty yards on his nine attempts.
So yeah, this is where the old put the Superman
cape on and go to work. Thing happened for him
and he's been so good at taking care of the football.
So now you add that to it, Jason, come playoff time.

That's a whole other element you gotta defend and worry about.

And I feel like you have to have it, you know,
save it for good as now because you want that home.
You want to play at home. You don't want to
go to Arrowhead. You don't want to do that. And
you need to win the rest of the way to
try to make that a re reality. Like this, it's
a big deal. Like if you you're playing that game
in Arrowhead, good bleep in luck man. We you see
the fifty to fifty calls that don't go your way.
