Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies, and you want experience during your football season, Well
buckle up, sweet cheeks. What we've got all the experience
in the world.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
This is I want your flex.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
With Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break
down everything you need to set your lineups, from position
rankings to starts and sits. The guys help you make
those hard decisions. And now let's catch your flex onde.
Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
It's a Thanksgiving feast of information. He is Mike Harmon,
I'm Dan Bayer. Ian Roddy is here. Our final episode
before Week thirteen gets underway, getting you set for the
three things giving you today games Black Friday, and then
the Sunday and Monday affairs that we are all used to.
Mike Carman, You've known me for a long time, and

(00:53):
I think that you can back me up on this.
I have always been a the Lion should stay on Thanksgiving,
and now I feel like I'm reaping the rewards from it.
It is. It's always been one of my favorite traditions.
I know the Lions game was on when I went
to Aunt Betty's house for Thanksgiving, and I never wanted
that to change. And now we get to see pretty

(01:15):
good football in the opening window on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Hopefully, well, at least the Lions are going to be good.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
I guess that's the It's your team, so I'm not gonna.
I'm gonna. I'm gonna withhold judgment.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
On the show. No, no, take out the stick and beat
them just like I do each and every You heard
the hey we threw the challenge flag because it was
an explosive play line of thanking from Matty Eberflus. Anyway,
you're on a percent right, I agree with you and
lockstep with you. Some things are meant to stay. We

(01:49):
don't have to change stuff just for change sake. It'd
be nice if we can get some new TV shows
in Hollywood, movies that were not retreads of everything else.
But in terms of tradition, we've lost too much. The
Cowboys and Secret Game number three is a formula that
works for me.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
It's a tradition unlike any other. And then falling asleep
usually at maybe cousin Judy's house.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Oh yeah, but the Cowboys CHAMEI absolutely.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah, that's what it would be. But let's dive into
the rankings right away, because we have sixteen games to cover.
Mike Harmon's got your rankings four Week thirteen. Mike, let's
start with your quarterbacks, your top five quarterbacks for Week thirteen.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Well, we get to go on both sides of what
should be an explosive game. See what I did there?
Fifty point five the over under, fresh hot content coming
out of the big Sunday and Monday night games. Yeah,
we'll go hurt some, Lamar one two. Look at a
Baltimore giving up twenty one a game to opposing quarterbacks.

(02:53):
I know hurts. The last couple of weeks. I is
decidedly down, still second overall during this four game period
eighteen and fifteen. His last two games after those big efforts,
Saquon Barkley will do that to you. Looking for maybe
a brotherly shove to get us back in the good
graces of fantasy owners. Lamar going up against Philly banged
up a little bit, right, We lose Graham for the

(03:15):
year with the tricep. Slay left with an injury and
may not be available for this one. Philly fifth best.
I turned that on its head. I think Lamar in
company with the balance and definition they get over there.
Josh Allen going up against San Francisco tenth pressed. Yeah,
that's an illusion master of illusion. Now I'm going Doug heading.

(03:36):
I'll grow the mustache on the mop top to go
with it. Maybe that'll be my Halloween costume next year, Dan,
and we'll see how many people actually recognize what the
hell I'm doing. That, said Josh Allen coming out of
the bye week expecting. The thing I liked was that
he finally used his legs a little bit. I don't
think he's gonna do that every week. Why, because you know,
you got to save it for good, Like I'm usually

(03:58):
opposed to that. That was my mom's thing, and then
you know the stuff that you'd never used, but when
you need it in big moments, it's nice to know
that it's there. So if he needs to again San
Francisco a team that is right now in spiral mode,
I think it's an opportunity for the Bills as they
still try to chase down the Chiefs. Baker Mayfield going
up against Carolina offense is playing better for Carolina, But

(04:20):
so that means you're not gonna just tuck the ball
and run with the two headed monster there. No, you're
gonna have to keep winging it, Mike Evans back all
of those fun things, and then number five going up
against the Las Vegas Raiders and their third string quarterback
Patrick Mahomes eighth most fantasy points per game allowed, and

(04:40):
we're seeing more balance in that offense. I expect the
passing game to take another step forward. Mahomes over the
last four weeks the fourth most scoring scoring points, points scored,
points scored. Can I speak at this point? I need
more coffee twenty two points a game with the bokends
of a twenty five and a twenty eight to eight

(05:03):
in the middle, you'll take the seventeens that he put up.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Now, again, we are recording this early, so if you're
listening to this on a Friday leading in, there's obviously
injury information that pops up. So we may have more
clarity on something that I'm about to say. But the
Bills forty nine Ers game, Josh Allen's success may also
be dependent on who's the quarterback for the forty nine ers,
And right now we do think it's going to be

(05:27):
brock Perty because of the encouraging signs that we saw
earlier in the week. But again with San Francisco you
never ever know. And one thing we know about San Francisco,
and if you listen to our last podcast, it should
be obvious none of us believe in them anymore. So
if the forty nine ers don't have brock Perty in Buffalo,
it's going to be a really long day for San Francisco.

(05:47):
Maybe Josh Allen's numbers are hurt, but if brock Party plays,
maybe we're getting more of a more of an Allen
sort of fest as well, Josh Allen, not Brandon Allen.
All Right, let's get to the running backs. By the way,
that was my own editorial on the quarterback situation between
the Bills and forty nine Ers.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
I like that we got Brandon Allen into discussion that
we've now won.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
All Right, Mike, you top five running backs in week thirteen?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Do we just put Saquon Barkley at the top in sharpie? Yeah,
I might have it paint pen or something that glitters
at this point, like Baltimore, we've watched them throughout the season.
You can run on them. We saw the Chargers had
great success until Dobbins got hurt. But you look at
the last four games for Barkley. Ready thirty two eight

(06:33):
thirty three point eight and forty six.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Not bad. Yeah about Hill, He'll do.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
He'll do Fantasy Championship as long as that offensive line
keeps road grading. Jami or Gibbs going up against the
Bear's fourth best over the last four weeks fourteen thirteen
and then the last two weeks in particular nineteen and
twenty five. This one's really curious to me this game
because it could get away really fast. Detroit an eleven

(07:01):
point favorite forty eight and a half. The total offense
playing better for Chicago. We'll see what that Bears. I
hate it. I walked myself into it, damn it. It's
like I don't want to say it, but I walked
into it. So yeah, Jamior Gibbs, David Montgomery having their way.
Joe Mixon third going up against Jacksonville a nine point

(07:23):
five last week. That offense sputtering right now. That offensive
line we talked about it last episode, struggling, but before that,
seventeen seventeen and the thirty eight still good enough for
third amongst running backs, showing you where the position is right.
You can still put up a clunker and have yourself
hey day. Alvin Kamara going up against the Rams. Looking

(07:45):
for him to be active in the past game and
make him hay and then I'm not going away from
eight Chan just he's been fantastic the last four weeks,
three games with at least twenty points finding the end
zone week in week out. This one's a fun one
against green Bay over under is at forty seven. One

(08:05):
of the more curious lines of the week.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, it's it's gotten Chiley in green Bay, as we
even saw with the forty nine ers game. But it's
not like it's going to be December in Green Bay.
So that's at least something that the Dolphins, I don't
want to say, can look forward to, but it's just
basically something that they will not have to deal with
because those December those December ones can be a little

(08:30):
a little bit chilly. Yeah, different scenario. Still going to
be cold, maybe you know, around thirty or something, but
at least it's not around zero or ten.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Sure. I like the McDaniel line that he was gonna
throw ice cubes at the players in practice to get
him ready, So that was funny. The other being, what's
the you know move on the graphic about the Dolphins
record based on temperature.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
What's the move.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
How early will we see that, oh graphic in the
Telliggree game.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Yeah, it's gonna be in the yeah, pregame. But I'm
gonna say right when they're like doing the the Derne
skycam shot of the field before kickoff. Okay, I think
that's going to be the graphic.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
There you go, there's your prediction. Ian, I think pregame. Yeah, definitely,
I don't see you gotta set it up right, Mike.
Plus when Toua addressed it too, like, now it's a story,
it's a story.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Yeah. So my hometown is about they when they built
the four lane. Ian. That may not make any sense
to you, but it does to many of us Midwesterners.
When they built the four lane, it made it a
lot quicker to get to Green Bay because he didn't
have to go through all the small towns. You just
have a four lane highway you can cruise there. So

(09:45):
it's about now, it's about i'd say an hour and
forty minutes, just a little basically east, but just a
little southeast of my hometown. And Thanksgiving on my phone
for my hometown in Wisconsin is a high of twenty
eight on Thanksgiving, low of nineteen, so you could probably

(10:06):
still think that that's what you're gonna get in Green
Bay at around that time, so not frigid, but still cold.
It's going to be at night, so that's what you're
gonna get. Maybe low twenties, upper teams for that Dolphins game.
We'll see if the fish are frozen or not. All right, Mike,
let's get to the running backs. Maybe we'll see a
fish on here, maybe we won't. Let's find out now
your top five running wide receivers for Week thirteen.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Give me Nico Collins off the jump against a terrible,
atrocious Jacksonville Jaguars defense, no matter what I think of
the offense as a whole, and we've seen a bit
of a slow down and pull back here, fifteen points
this last week for Collins. I'm gonna look for a
bigger effort from him. And that was in a standard

(10:50):
type league when we look at him overall, we got
to a twenty point in a PPR, So we'll take
the points and move on. Jamar Chase going up against
Pitch their first meeting on the year, Well, you know
they can't play any defense. They're gonna keep throwing and
you're not stopping Chase especially Higgins is at least trying
to be out there?

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Did I say that? Right? So nobody comes at me
and tells me I'm a jerk?

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Yeah, well he can save me. T Higgins saved Ian
a week ago in the Guillotine League, and he.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Will always hold a special spot in my heart because
of it.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
I like that. That's good. I feel like we should
play some music behind that. Justin Jefferson going up against Arizona,
he was muted by Johnson and the Bears secondary more
Addison love. I think they get back to it here
against Arizona. I'm on Ross Saint Brown going up against
said Bears short intermediate passing and Gibbs and Montgomery a

(11:48):
recipe for disaster for that Bears defense that by all
the metrics folks can still say, Hey, look, no, no, no,
go to the last few weeks. Look at what that
team is since that Hail Mary. It is a much
different effort, much different type of performance that you're seeing
from pillar to post. And yes, the offense is better,

(12:10):
but that defense has taken a huge step back. And
then finally Mike Evans going up against the Carolina Panthers
let's get him back in the good graces of fantasy
land because it's time for the Baker Mayfield appreciation moment.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Yeah, I think Panthers Buccaneers could be fun. It's in
that late window. And right now we've got only three
games in that late window because you have the games
that are happening earlier in the week and Eagles Ravens
is taking so much air out of the room. But
you have Ram Saints in the other matchup. But I
think Buccaneers and Panthers, to your point, Mike, could be
could be some fun. You had Baker in your top

(12:44):
five and Evans as well. We'll see how it all
plays out in Charlotte on Sunday afternoon. Those are Mike
Carmen's top five plays at the quarterback, running back, and
wide receiver positions. We look outside of the top five
to give you the hot plays, cold sores and ninjas.
Plus he and Roddy's got a streaming defenses to come,
and I'll try to give you some hopefully not worthless
information as well. He's Mike Harmon, that's Ian Roddy. I'm

(13:07):
Dan Byer. This is I want your flex welcome back
to I want your flex. Ian Roddy still not on
Blue Sky, but Mike and I are on the social
media platform Mike harmon Dan Byer. That's where you can
find us on Blue skuy b e y e R
if you are wondering, and you can always get us
on X That's where you can still find Ian at
Ian Roddy Underscore, get Mike kt swollen Dome, and you

(13:29):
can find me at Dan Bayer on Fox. Let's get
into it. Let's get into the not the hot dish
for Thanksgiving, Mike, Let's get to the hot plays for
week thirteen. How about you guys outside of the ranking.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
How about we go back to the game. We were
just talking about Tampa Bay and Carolina and Bryce Young.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Let's push in. Let's do it.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Let's push in a little bit. Legatton Company and the
dual headed monster in the backfield, but making better decisions
that in Tampa Bay's secondary. We watched them all year long.
Second most generous to opposing quarterbacks. How about c J Straus.
I'm gonna support you CJ this week. Let's go. Let's
get back at it.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah. This Texans fans, by the way, are kind of
turning on him a little bit they are. Why you know, geez,
did he.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Do something in the offseason? Did he go to a
video game convention? Or did he date somebody nobody liked?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
They had to go with.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Amber Rose or what's her name or something like that.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Ownership did not care about that team for three straight years,
just did not care. Now they're putting together, trying to
put together a winner, and you're gonna turn in your
quarterback this quickly. Come on, do better than that, Houston.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Yeah, be better than that. Spoiled by the success of
the Ash. You know, the garbage can bashing Astros, all right.
Russell Wilson going against Cincinnati. Look, I'm not a huge
Russ guy. You guys know this, but the opportunities just
too juicy, doesn't you know? The moon ball get the
guys involved as a Mike Williams kind of spot against

(14:55):
the Bengals. This could be a high scoring one. It's
only forty six and a half. I think we're hitting
the over on this. Give me, Russell Wilson. I'm gonna
take a couple of your guys, Dan Gino Smith going
up against the mid and sinking Jets.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
D it's me against Ian this week.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
And Kenneth Walker right along side. Okay, I think you
got this one wrapped up. Third, I think the Seahawks
got this one wrapped up.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
I gotta ask Jason Cole when he joins me on
the show next how much input he's got on the
Jets hiring process he writes for The Thirty Times. Oh
does he?

Speaker 3 (15:28):
I was.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Actually what happens when the NFL eventually does an expansion,
because that's like they're gonna have to change their name,
right because there will be what thirty four teams at
that point, They're gonna have to change to the thirty
fifth team.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Well, the Big ten's got like eighty four teams in
it now they haven't.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
That's true, That is, if I don't jump on the
thirty fifty right now.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
Oh yeah, dot Com so they have to pay you.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Thirty fifteen got so small?

Speaker 2 (15:58):
It all right, let's keep going. Kareem going up against
Las Vegas. Go back to Indianapolis, mister Taylor, it's now
your opportunity against the New England squad. I really loved
the girod mao comment. Hey, once they're inside the white lines,
I mean, what am I gonna do? Coaches? Man, They're
giving us absolutely goal, absolute goal this year. Khalil Shakir

(16:22):
six or more catches and five straight games coming out
of the bye week, should be active. Doesn't need to
be monster in terms of yards. We're looking at a
ten to twelve point Set it and forget it and
move on and then look for upside and then you know,
one more for good measure out of your Seahawks. I
just can't stay away from looking at Jackson Smith and
Jigba and what he's been doing of late. It was

(16:44):
your guy coming into the year. Dan, We talked about
it between him and Lockett. Yeah, and you were on
JSN pretty big.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Yeah, It just it seemed like the passing of the
torch was inevitable. And he really is a special receiver.
You're not gonna see the great is forty times physical. Obviously,
he's not the big wide receiver like DK metcalf is
on the other side of the line of scrimmage. But
there is just something about him that is just you

(17:13):
just I'm not comparing him to Jerry Rice Mike, but
I think you know what I'm saying in terms of
there's just something about him as a receiver that just
makes him so good. Like Jerry Rice wasn't the fastest guy.
We knew about Jerry Rice's work ethic, but I think
there's a little of that with Jackson Smith and sex.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
The ins and outs of playing the position the spots right,
finds his space, finds his spot, gives it a nice target.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
I did find a nice rookie card in a box
I was going through for you, and he's still in
his Ohio State uniforms. A nice you know, we'll pass
that on to you. You also have to take a
couple of Bobby Hoyings as.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Well, Gladly.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Actually, something else that's worth mentioning about JSN. This is
just something that that that kind of jogged my memory
about it back when when he was at Ohio State
when and it was him, Garrett Wilson, Chrystal Lave, and
I remember seeing this interview this clip and the interviewer
asked out of all three of you, who's the best,
and both Garrett Wilson and Crystal Lave no hesitation, pointed

(18:13):
at Jackson Smith and Jigbo.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Yeah, yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. Yeah,
I saw that as well.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
That's also like when they said, hey, the Bear's heart
Jane Waldern good luck.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Yeah, yeah, what do you think?

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Are we live? Yes, we are. Yes, he's a great person. Yeah,
I'll tell you what. And in those games when when
you know a lave and Wilson didn't playing the Rose Bowl,
I mean you thought was playing running backs in their secondary.
It was tough for the utes of that Rose bull day.
But when you have over three hundred yards, Yeah, No,

(18:48):
he's the real deal for sure. Those are your hot
plays for week thirteen. I'm going to end it there
because I could just keep going on and on. Let's
get to the other side of things. The cold soars.
Maybe now is where we'll get some jets. Just kidding, Ian,
I'm gonna pay for that. This he actually gonna lose
because I said that stupid comment. Take it out of
the podcast now you don't have to Mike or the
cult source for week there.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Garrett Wilson nine catches, fourteen, fourteen targets, just fifty nine
receiving yards his last two games. I had the bye.
This is a he's a back end to and you're
wishing and hoping, right, you're not benching him too many
opportunities And as long as you know old Aaron Rodgers
was he wearing number eight these days? Is upright and

(19:30):
slinging it, and there's many people coming to his defense.
I think it's the I want to see this guy
keep quarterbacking because then I don't feel as old kind
of thing. But yeah, it's just a tough spot, especially
if they're gonna play defense like they did this last
week and again Arizona versus the Jets, whatever. But looking
at what like the Seattle what they did there, they

(19:52):
could do the same thing to Kyler Murray, all right,
to Aaron Rodgers what they did to Kyler Murray.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Yeah, as a Seahawks fan, I'm just gonna say this.
The Seahawks I think lead the NFL by the way
in playing teams when they're coming off their by They've
had a bunch of them this year. But also emotional
win for the Seahawks at home division opponent. Now you
go on the road, cross country trip, early kickoff in
New York Ian. I'm not saying it's there for your Jets,

(20:19):
but it's there for your Jets. So it's even though
the Seahawks are favored, could be something to watch. But
if it does happen, maybe Garrett Wilson just doesn't do anything,
and it's all breecee Hall.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
I just don't know how hard I'm rooting for a
Jets win anymore. Yeah, it's like, how much do you
care about draft position and stuff?

Speaker 2 (20:36):
It's just it's such so brittle. What's funny is I
was listening to because I have to write the Old Bears,
guys like the sixties and seventies, and through Dan Hampton,
they do a lot of audio post game and then
all the rounds on Monday, and I was listening to
a little of the score in Chicago and they had
this guy called in I have no idea. I'm guessing

(21:00):
forties early fifties, and they're trying to get the pulse
of everybody. And he just goes, you don't what. I'm
not even mad anymore, and he pauses, I'm just tired
and hungup. Was like, wow, And I think that's what
I just got for me. I feel a level for sure.
I'm just tired. All right, let's continue on. How about

(21:24):
Jayden Reed another guy where where it's a boomer boss
kind of situation. We've gone to this well a couple
of times, and you see there are big explosive moments,
but spreading the ball around, and obviously Josh Jacobs, if
he's going to play like this, this is the guy
we saw with the Raiders a couple of years ago.
He declared himself the missing piece talking with Tom Brady,

(21:45):
which I really loved. But what that means is you've
got a little bit of a muted week to week
from the rest of the receiver. So I'm gonna take
Jordan love with him. Even though this is forty seven
is the total, I'm reticent to endorse it. Right. Against quarterbacks,
Miami's been the second best this year.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Yeah, the defense is in despite losing some pieces, they've
still been pretty good.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Yeah, they've done a pretty good job. After the expectation
that that would slough off, they've done a pretty good job. There.
Go back to the well, Kyler Murray, you watched Seattle, right,
let's blitz him. Well, what the hell do you think
Brian Flores is gonna do? Yeah, that could get ugly there.
They're a mid team against opposing quarterbacks. Caleb Williams had
his success. We'll see, if you know, watching the tape

(22:30):
and whatever that they game plan for that. Maybe Murray
finds a designed run or two to back things off
or whatever, but not confident that you get a big
game there. Matthew Stafford against New Orleans giving up about
sixteen points per game. Nick Chubb against Denver. I like
that Denver defense, I really do. It's fun to talk

(22:51):
about bo Nickson offensive football, whatever, give me Vance Joseph
and what they're doing defensively and Cleveland. It's all gonna
be on Jameis Winston's arm tyro Hi Giants quit and
as good a story as he's been. It's a game
against Dallas, So yeah, he's gonna still be and again
back end because of opportunity back end too. But unless

(23:12):
you get the big explosive play, I'm reticent to believe
you're getting a huge game out of him.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
I'm going to just finish with this. You were mentioning
the Broncos YEP. One of the Broncos assistants. You know
the name. You both know the name, Jim Leonard. So
former Badgers. Yeah, former Badger ended up taking over as
the interim coach and they fired Paul Chris and Ian
knows him as a Jet Jets show. And there's a

(23:39):
story about Jim Leonard playing for the Jets that they
played Jim Leonard during the end of Rex Ryan's tenure,
even though Jim Leonard was kind of past his prime
and his days were done, because he was the only
one who knew the defense you like, nobody else could
understand it the complexities of it. So they needed Jim
Leonard on the field to tell everybody what to do.

(24:02):
If Rex Ryan is your next coach ian, yes for
for another term. And by the way, in today's day
and age, that is not out of the realm of Fossivillay.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
No, it's not.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
Jim Leonard, I think would be your defensive coordinator. So
I am just saying, I'm just putting that out there.
If that happens, I think that Rex Ryan would bring
him on over. And it's the next logical step. So
in his coaching ladder.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
There's something to it, Dan and the fact that they're
bringing in Mike Tannenbaum to help lead the search and
really it's you're all coming back.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Yeah, all right, let's get to the ninjas, the sneaky plays.
You laugh because you know I'm right.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
You're right.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Here's the thing though, in all of the different let's
go Marvel Cinematic Universe. I know your your son's still
very young. You'll eventually be forced to watch all these
dan you can go through timelines and kind of bob
and weave as you want. Would this be the worst
earth to show up on where Rex Ryan was coaching

(25:04):
the Jets again, It'd be entertaining as hell for us.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
Man do that to me, Doctor Zachon motioned the one
one possibility, and.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
We're hey, Johnson's your owner, and now he may be
caught up in the other new regime, that's the old regime,
that's new again, and that's old again, or however you
want to do it. But if he has to make
the choice, who knows. Crazier things have happened. All right,
let's get to these ninjas.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Quick, yeah, really quickly. Will Levis against Washington, they're mid
he's playing better football. I like the second act of
these young quarterbacks. They're like, all right, that's the guy
you drafted, starting to make better decisions. Get some of
the stupid out, you'll be better. Cooper Rush against the
Giants three hundred plus last week? Why the hell not
against the team that is quite obviously quitting and suddenly

(25:55):
everybody wants to play for Mike McCarthy Last chance Saloon,
as it were, Rashad White against Caralina. You're looking at
opportunities and scoring streaks and all those fun things mentioned.
Gus Edwards not exactly encouraged by the effort he had
against his former squad, but with JK. Dobbins potentially missing

(26:17):
time again injury reports as we record this, a lot
of information to come before that game kicks off at
Swollen Dome at Dan Byron Fox at Ian Roddy underscore
in the Twitter verse, we'll have you updated. But against Atlanta,
I would look for a workload of ten to fifteen
touches at a minimum for Edwards, including any red zone opportunities.

(26:38):
Also had a mere Abdullah in our waiver claim on
the last episode. Calvin Ridley going up against Washington. He's
back in the good graces and a guy who's been
fantastic the last couple of weeks going up against his
old team. How about some Jerry Judy action, all right,
twelve catches, seventeen targets, two hundred twenty seven yards and
a score the last two weeks. Let's see if we
can't make it a streak.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
It's an exciting week of football. Browns Broncos is going
to bring back memories. I don't know if it'll get
the juices flowing, but I'll tell you what. Back to
back years AFC Championship game Browns Broncos. That's right in
the core of my of my youth. Those the drive

(27:20):
and winning in Cleveland, and then you had the fumble
the following year. Oh Man, Browns were so close.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
It's going to be so fun because we'll get some
of that throwback if nothing else. When we get to burmanisms,
tell me he's not going to celebrate the hell out
of that. I'm not talking about any other game.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
I'm going back to you know, since we mentioned it.
When I say the fumble, do you know what I'm
talking about Ian the fumble?

Speaker 4 (27:46):
Yeah, the only fumble that comes to mind is the
butt fumble.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
But okay, this is again, this is like a generational thing.
And I don't expect you to know this because this
happened thirteen years before you were born. But do you
know what the drive is? When they heard I've heard
of it perfect. It was the year prior between the
Broncos and Browns. Do you know what the catch.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
Is the catch and not the first not the helmet catch.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
Correct.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
No, again, I've heard the term, but I don't know what.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Totally fine, and I'm not trying to It's just the
generations Dwight Clark back of the end zone beating the
Dallas Cowboys. These are plays that happened in the nineteen
eighties and they just go by the names. Tried to
catch the fumble, and they have been an all in
championship games, which then Niners go to the Super Bowl.

(28:39):
The Broncos go to back to back Super Bowls. You know,
after these plays against Cleveland, but you realize and how
close and why Cleveland is so miserable because of how
close they came to actually going to a Super Bowl
and not getting there with the drive with the fumble.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
The following year, Ernest Beiner, Yes.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
So John Elway goes what ninety eight yards and throws
a touchdown pass in Cleveland Ian. This is the AFC
Championship game in the eighty six. Make this really quick
and then the Broncos go and end up winning it
in overtime, ripping the hearts of the Brons out. Broncos
go to the Super Bowl. They lose to the Giants
in Super Bowl twenty one, not a big deal. The
next year, they go to Denver. The Brons are down

(29:25):
at halftime. They end up coming back and Ernest Beiner,
as Mike says, is on his way taking a handoff
into the end zone and then just fumbles at about
the three yard line. Geez, as he's about to go
into the end zone. They're down five and recovered by
the Broncos, and the game is basically over. So it was, Yeah,

(29:48):
it's just like you get so close. So when you
hear that I'm tired, I think this is maybe a
good bow to put on all of it. The Brons
have been tired since nineteen eighty seven. I feel like
I feel like the that is the case.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Yes, good history lesson there.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yes, yes, great great stuff. Anybody that's Ian's eighth you
know in your twenties, born in the nineties eighties, go
look this stuff up. It's great. It's a part of
the NFL fabric, and you'll learn more about the the
angst of some of these fan bases coming up next.
My angst trying to find a survivor winner. And Ian's
got a streaming defenses and we'll wrap this bad boy up.

(30:26):
He's Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Bayer. That's Ian Roddy. This
is I want your flex all right, putting the finishing
touches on week thirteen in a full slit of games,
no One's on by. He's Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Bayer.
Ian Roddy is our executive producer and Ian you have
streaming defenses for week thirteen.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Yes, sir, so starting with the Los Angeles Rams this week.
So the thing with the Rams, to the two defenses
I'm bringing here, they're coming from opposite coming off of
opposite types of performance. Is the Rams are coming off
of very very bad performance. But as we know the
catches that it was against the Eagles, who you know,
they're one of the two teams on the last episode

(31:05):
that I see, you know, could win the Super Bowl.
So I'm not counting it against the Rams too much.
But before that game against the Eagles, they are coming
off eight points, nine points, eighteen points, seven points, seventeen points.
So the defense itself is actually pretty good for fantasy.
And they're playing against the Saints, who you know, historically
this season they've been a team especially recently that we've

(31:25):
wanted to target with streaming defenses. So I like the Rams,
and then the other one is the Dallas Cowboys, who conversely,
they're coming off a huge performance nineteen points against the
Washington Commanders, so they would they're looking to follow that
up against the Giants. Tommy DeVito took a lot of
sacks last week, and they were the reason that last

(31:47):
week's streaming defense the Buccaneers ended up being such a
successful stream because they were going up against the Giants.
So look for the Cowboys doing the same thing this week.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
If they returned two kicks for a touchdown against the
New York Giants with one of them being on an
onside kick, I was young, just get down, jan Ye Thomas,
just get down? Yeah, you know, just slide. And Mike
McCarthy and and uh John Fossil, the special teams coach,
are on the sidelines talking to each other and it's like,

(32:21):
did you tell them to get down or just because
they were pissed because it kept the game going. Washington
has shown that they can end up making these last
second plays, but in the end it didn't hurt them.
But hey, that was I should have hurt him.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
That it was miss extra point away from hurting him.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
The uh the the other thing was Cavante Turpin's kick
was so amazing, but it got so lost in the
shuffle because of everything that ended up happening. So uh yeah,
good times with the Cowboys. You know what, I'm going
to continue on the Cowboys train, Mike, you had Cooper
rush Ian's got the defense. My Oasis song of the week,

(33:02):
The Cowboys will figure it out this week, cast no shadow,
Ceedee Lamb playing off of the sun shining in the
AT and T Stadium against the Giants. The Cowboys will
figure it out this time, and Ceedee Lamb will have
a big game. Maybe he'll even jump into the Salvation
Army pot that we've seen Ezekiel Elliott doo from time

(33:23):
to time. But my Oasis play of the week is
Ceedee Lamb against the Giants on Thanksgiving Day. My Survivor
pick of the week. Guys, I hate to go chalk,
but in all of my history of the season and
figuring out teams, I don't think I've ever said take
the Chiefs once. And I'm taking the Chiefs at home
against the Raiders because there's no way they lose to

(33:45):
the Raiders at home for the second straight year on
a somewhat holiday. Last year was Christmas. This year we
have the Black Friday Game. There's no way it's happening again,
especially with the Raiders quarterback situation kind of influx. I'm
taking the Chiefs, my survivor pick, and my points of
Palooza for the week. I'm gonna go to Atlanta. I'm

(34:06):
gonna go Chargers Falcons. It's one of the higher ones
that we've got this week. Maybe not the highest, but
at least a couple of you know, rings down from Eagles,
Ravens and Rams and Saints. So give me the Chargers
and Falcons as my points at Palooza.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Well, I like that one. It's one of the things
for this week, guys, is that we do have a
bunch of high point totals, or at least everything kind
of floating towards the mid fifties, with the exception of
that Thanksgiving Day game between the Giants and Cowboys, which
is sitting at thirty seven and a half. Everything else
is forty three, forty five, Seattle, New York forty one

(34:42):
and a half inching towards forty two. But we got
a few forty eights, so the fifty and a half
with Philly and Baltimore. Yeah, in theory, we at least
get some fireworks.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
Should be an interesting week. Mike, you are traveling, safe
travels to you.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
If you're staying lo you staying.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
Local, I'll be here at Fox Sports Radio nice on Local.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
I'll be there as well on Thanksgiving Day and throughout
the weekend. And so thankful for you guys, for all
of the work that you put into this pod, and
we always have a blast doing it. So thanks for
everything that you guys provide, and thanks to everybody who
listens as well.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
No fun time, fun, community, fun, fun feedback. And we
got some history in today.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Yes, we did good.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
I got a history lesson.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
Yes, and there will be a test next week. Just
saying we will quiz you on the fumble to catch
and the drive all on next week's episodes if I
want your flex. So for Ian Roddy, who is yet
to get on Blue Sky maybe in twenty twenty five.
And for Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Beyer. We hope you
have a great Thanksgiving, Enjoy Black Friday, enjoy the football,

(35:47):
and we'll talk to you on the other end of
Week thirteen here, and I want your flex
