Speaker 2 (00:49):
You have much more control over your household than I do.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Very well.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
You know well, you know my wife works hard. We
both work hard, obviously, and you know the notice that
I work hard too. When she goes, what did you
do today? I go, what do you mean? I got up?
I I you know, I have to you know, listen
to Colin. I watched the sports shows, I got games on,
got a lot of stuff to do, right, She's like, oh,
(01:15):
poor you. I go, oh, poor you. You go to watch Anyway.
She goes, I want to take a vacation in May,
and I say fine. She goes, let's go to one
of those resorts and we'll take our son and his girlfriend.
I said, fine, I go, I go. Let's I go.
I want to go to like Charleston or something like that.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Carolina.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Yeah, okay. She didn't want to do that. She wanted
like Jamaica or the Bahamas. I'm like, fine, fine, go
do what you want. Should have taken her for the
basketball I wanted. Did I look up she made? She
made a reservation for the Dominican Republic.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
The Dominican Republic.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Yeah, okay, I mean have I'm assume that she's looked
into I.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Don't know, she doesn't. She just probably saw, like, oh,
look at the water here. But that those ads can
fool you, you know what I mean. But that's a
bunch of boloney. And why do I get to go
to the travel that far to see the water when
I'm near the Atlantic Ocean.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
So let me just let's kind of talk about our
two worlds.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Arnie is mad because his wife tonight booked a tropical vacation.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, in the Dominican Republic, Yes, Okay.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Meanwhile, I had to drive with my wife to pick
off pick up something in the hood that she bought
off Facebook marketplace that when we got there she decided
she didn't want. So I had to tell the guy
she didn't want it, and we had to get in
our car and drive away.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
So you you want.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
To complain a little bit more about this vacation you
got to take in mad Uh you.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Know what, I just it's just far away to go
to someplace. I guess it as a casino, so that's
gonna be fun. I hope it has a sports book.
I don't know my wife.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
You know, I turned fifty this year.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
I turned Yeah, we're gonna have a party for you
or what.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
My wife today asked me whenever we were driving to
the middle of nowhere to look at a ad dresser
that she ended up not buying. She's like, what do
you want to do for your fiftieth and I I
the idea of just going to.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
A casino or going to a horse.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Track or playing We're on the same page here. I'm
gonna tell you. I'm want to do you a favor.
If your wife's listening, yeah, my wife never listens anything.
Can you tell her? She just sits at home. Don't
worry about it. You and I and all the listeners,
all of them are going to Vegas, Vegas, and we're
(03:38):
gonna party like rock stars.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Man, I'd say that we go to because my birthdays
in April. But maybe my plan we could plan like
a March trip so we could be there during March madness,
because isn't that that doesn't everyone say that's when you
want to be the first tournament?
Speaker 5 (03:55):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Could we party like rock stars? All our listeners there
and you you leave the wives home, the girlfriend's home,
just nothing but us guys having parties.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
A bunch of fifty year old, gray haired guys. And
I'm mad if I'm not in bed by eleven o'clock.
It's like, listen, I don't care what we do. You
all got to leave by ten.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Vegas, they pump in oxygen. You feel good while you're
walking around in the casino. You're feeling good. Seriously, they
pumping oxygen.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
We'll start working on that. And I'm very sorry that
your wife planned a Caribbean vacation for you, Arnie in
the middle of all this.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
And by the way, I'm always afraid I'll get arrested
for some reason.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Don't do anything wrong and you'll be fight You know that.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
That doesn't you know, that doesn't mean you won't get arrested.
I am you know I'll be like one are those
tourists where people say can you carry my bag for me, sir?
And then next thing I know, I'm getting arrested hauled
off the jail.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Oh, because you're the guy's Yeah yeah, listen, I watch
enough of the I watch enough of the Smugglers TV show.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Yes, I do too.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah yeah that Yeah, you.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Totally thought you'd be sweating like crazy. He said, I
gave you this bag. I have some dude, right, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
If I've spent thirty years in like a Caribbean prison,
I don't think I can handle that. Chris, how A
gonna do this? How am I gonna do the show?
Speaker 3 (05:12):
I'll theyll set you up with the line in there
that needs an Internet line. You'll be good to go.
Could you imagine Arnie in prison every single Sunday night
and people it's like, shut up, keep it down.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
You gonna have the TV on.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Sorry, guys got the TV on for this? Hey, so
now do I owe you an apology? It's Arnie Playing
Company live from the ti rack dot com studios, because
on Sunday night you were all about this sitcom that
you say is being written about.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
You or yes, yes, the Arnie Span your show.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Is that what it's going to be called? Well, that's
one of.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
The names I prefer like either Hello Arnie, like hullo Larry,
I don't remember everybody who loves Arnie like everybody hates Chris.
Wasn't that a TV show?
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah, everybody hates Chris, but you wanted to be everybody
loves Arnie.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, but is this truely? You're actually having the writer
come in this weekend.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
There'll be two riders coming in a week from Sunday.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
And from Sunday, Yes, a week.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
From Sunday, and they'll be watching us do the show
and check it out. Everybody and the producers and the
board ops and just you know, there's already a couple
of networks interested in it. And I think it's gonna
I think it's gonna get the green light man, And
I told Mary, I can't tell you on the air
who they want to play us, And well.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
For you, you're saying us, it's all you.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
It's no no, But I have a co host on
the TV. Okay, Mary, was it not a couple of
good names that I mentioned that we're going to be
part of the project or what I'm not gonna lie.
I'm literally not listening because I'm talking to Aaron. Well,
she was impressed when I told her who the actors were,
that they were gonna use for me, and that they
(06:54):
were gonna use for you. So and they're coming in
and I'm telling you this has been in the works,
like in six years she came up. This was six
years ago. Are you talking?
Speaker 2 (07:03):
May?
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yeah, Warre's supposed to mention his name on the air.
But since you did, oh sorry, yeah that's okay. Yeah,
names like that Chris, so there you go.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, well, congratulations. I hope it comes to fruition. Arnie
get Rich, make sure you don't sign away any of
the merchandising rights.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Did you know what's so funny is if they don't
use me as an actor, what you know, how am
I going to get paid? That's I don't understand that part,
don't you. I thought you would get paid in this situation. Yeah,
you would, you would, he would, he should, He should
congradulate because and I gotta have a part somehow. I
gotta be like a caller on the air or something.
(07:40):
I cannot not be in the TV show I can
have you do like a cameo. THO would be yeah, yeah, exactly.
I gotta have some time like Arnie looking at the
fake Arnie?
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Is there any Is there any is? Like a pee
Wee Herman reference? Is that too outdated? Would anyone get it?
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Like in Pee Wee's Big Adventure when is when he
has his cameo at the end of the movie and
he grabs the phone. So that's what you could be.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Well, get off, it'll do you right on this drinks
giving on a Wednesday night? All right, skip back, get
back to the show here. Are you good with everything?
So you're mad about your vacation and you've got your
TV writers coming in a week from it.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
If anybody's been to the Dominican Republic, go ahead and
tweet me and let me know what kind of if
it's going to be a good time or not.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
So on, are you buying what Jerry Jones is selling here? Arnie.
This is from his weekly appearance on Dallas Radio.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Is it crazy to think that at the end of
the season we could be talking about an extension for
Mike McCarthy.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
Well, I'm don't think that's crazy at all. That's not crazy. Listen,
Mike McCarthy is one an outstanding coach. I was listened
to the game last time watching it and Haigman was
talking about it, and he's reiterated that several times publicly.
This Super Bowl winning coach, Mike McCarthy has been there,
(08:58):
done that. We've got a great ideas, bottom line, has
aid no place in my body language or anything else.
Have you saying indications about what we're going to be
doing relative to this staff at the end of this year?
We shouldn't.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
So.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Yeah, is Mike McCarthy going to be back you over Jerry?
You covered Jerry?
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:24):
For what how long were you in Dallas? But it
felt like a decade?
Speaker 4 (09:28):
Yeah, pretty much. If every year is like seven years,
it's like dog years outside the ship. Yeah, it's something
like that. But no, he he's pretty much a straight shooter.
I believe him when he says, no, it's not crazy
and that he's considering giving Mike McCarthy an extension. Does
he deserve an extension? You know that's a fifty to
fifty Probably not. But you know, it isn't all his fault.
(09:51):
What's been going on and all the injuries and the
fact that Jerry didn't spend any money to get more
offensive weapons around his quarterback and the fact that he
missed just misread the whole situation after pay all that
money to Dyk Press got to beginning with so, oh,
that's not Butcarthy's fault. Let's let's be honest. It's been
semi train wreck and Jerry's been a big part of
(10:12):
the reason why they're in this situation.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
So Jerry's first year as the owner of the Cowboys
was like what eighty nine to ninety right. I brought
this up last night to Harmon, and I'm curious to
get your thought in that span, which is, you know,
it's what are we looking at thirty four years right now,
thirty five years?
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Whatever it is. You know, he's only had nine coaches.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
That might seem like a lot to some, especially when
you consider that, you know, Tom Landry was the coach
the Cowboys for like twenty years himself, twenty eight, twenty
nine years himself.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
But you know, Jimmy.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Johnson was there from eighty nine to ninety three and
then they had their falling out and he brought in Barry,
and Barry was there for a while. There was that
span with Shan and and I think that's when you
were there, right that, Dave Campo, Bill Parcells and then
Wade Phillips. But I mean he gave Jason Garrett a
eight years. Yeah, I think it was eight years. I
(11:12):
think it was eight years. I'm looking at it right now.
He came in as an interim coach in twenty ten
and then Garrett was a full time coach in twenty eleven,
and he didn't fire him until after the nineteen season.
So I mean, maybe it's maybe it's a little bit
unfair that we look at him and say, oh, he
is uh he turns through coaches. But I think in
(11:33):
a lot of ways he's been I don't know if
the term would be loyal, Arnie, but to a fault, yeah,
almost to a fault. Yeah, that's not the big knockout him.
It's always more about being the general manager. It's always
about when you hear those little stories about how like
he wanted to draft Johnny Manziel and his son at
(11:54):
the tackle of out of the carpet had ripped the.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
Thig out of his head so they couldn't do it,
you know, hearing stories like that, or I wasn't gonna
get this guy and I waited and he you know,
he has to spend extra money. It's just that his
general manager decisions have not been stellar. Let's be honest.
I'm not saying all of it. He's done some good
jobs and some good signings, but I don't think he's
been calling the shots for a while. So I don't
(12:19):
know how much to really blame him and how much
he's just a figurehead, goes on the radio, talks a
few things, and I mean, is he really trying to
make trades? Is Jerry on the phone right now is
saying we need a backup our offensive lineman. Let's let's
go ahead, and I need to find one. He's not
doing stuff like that, so I don't think he really
has He has that is, you know, fifth or his
(12:40):
fingers on the pulse of everything that's going on with
that team.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Do you feel like and in preparation of Tomorrow's Cowboys,
Giants game. Oh no, what happened to Jada? Oh no,
there's an injury in the Oklahoma City Thunder game right now.
Jalen Williams is hurt. It's just not good.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Yeah, actually I have that came on. Look at it
that what do he hit his head or something?
Speaker 3 (13:02):
I guess So no, no, be okay. Jd up sixty
to forty eight to Thunder lead Golden State right now
with thirty six seconds left in the first half. But
let me get back to the Cowboys here real quick?
Is there a number in your opinion? Cowboys are four
and seven right now, They're not gonna win the division,
probably not going to the playoffs. But is there, in
(13:24):
your opinion over the final six games a number they
have to hit in order to assure that McCarthy's gonna.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Be back next year?
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Or do you think it's just kind of Hey, the
hand he's been dealt and everything they've gone through, he
going to be back regardless.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
I think he's gonna be back regardless. Though. You know,
what are they four and seven? You said, yeah, yeah,
four and seven?
Speaker 3 (13:47):
And real quick, Giants, Bingles, Panthers, Buccaneers, Eagles, Commanders.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
No, you can't you got to have at least six
to seven wins. He probably he'll probably have about six
to seven wins.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
You know, Oh you oh, I thought you meant of
the final six games. So you want to see that.
They've got to be a six or seven win football team,
is what you're saying.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
I think they'll end up winning six or seven. I
don't know if he has to win that many. He'll
be back next year regardless of what happens because of
all the injuries. And I think Jerry knew he didn't
have enough weapons around his quarterback when they came into
the season. Everybody was talking about it. So it was
like he didn't hear the noise. He heard the noise. He
just probably thought, no, we'll be fine, or I don't
(14:27):
want to spend the money. He didn't want to spend
the money on Derrick Henry, which was a big mistake.
You know, running back to how much was how much
was he making? Chris like less than ten million? He
left himselfing they didn't even know, I mean powered left.
He got Ezekiel back, and that guy's stats have been
going down every year for the last five or six years.
I don't know what he was thinking about that situation, I.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Think I'll defend him in this front and then all
as even kind of defend the Giants. I don't know
if Derrick Henry is doing in Dallas what he's doing
in Baltimore. And I sure I don't think Saquon Barkley
is doing in New York what he's doing in Philly
right now. But I'm sure as heck would have liked
to see how it would have worked out for Henry
and Dallas, right.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
I agree with you on that. That's fair enough. That's yeah,
you're right about that. They they probably don't have those
good of years if they're not with the teams that they.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Are with right now. I agree with you that, but.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
I also say, you know, you went and you got,
you brought in Brandon Cooks, and that's just it hasn't
really materialized. And then beyond Ceedee Lamb, you've got Camante Turpin,
Jalen Tolbert, you traded for Jonathan Mingo. I don't think
he's done a damn thing yet. Your tight ends are okay,
(15:40):
but it's just there's not enough This sounds wild to
say with the Cowboys, right enough flash, there's not enough
flash with enough.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Big name flash out there. Where's Mike Gorvin man he's
coming back or what? Let's tell him out there?
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Easy to say right now?
Speaker 3 (15:54):
All right, Cowboys, Giants, Jerry, vote of confidence. Usually a
vote of confidence the worst thing that can happen for you,
But in this instance, looks like it's gonna work for one.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Mike McCarthy.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
All right, when we come back to the tyrack dot
Com studios, Arnie, I want to stick with the NFL,
but I do want to dive into the week in general.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
Right.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
We talk a lot about the Thanksgiving Day games because
those are tomorrow, but what about the week ahead? We'll
dive into that when we come back Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
All right, it's Arnie in playing here on Fox Sports Radio.
Arnie's in Tomorrow night with EJ. And then we'll be
back on Sunday. Right, Are you doing anything Saturday?
Speaker 4 (16:45):
No, Saturday, it took off. Gotta have a day off.
Can't be working every day.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
That's right, that's right, But you didn't work Monday or
Tuesday either, right?
Speaker 6 (16:55):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (16:56):
No, Idy, real quick, just touching because we're all about
the news. It's breaking right last night whenever I was
on the Blake Snell News, broke right that he had
signed with the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Tonight. I don't think we're gonna get anything like that.
But are you.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Are you in on the Sodo chase? Are you following
the minu by minute reporter ring on this?
Speaker 4 (17:21):
No, I'm not following minute by minute. I just figured
it's between the Mets Yankees, maybe Dodgers as an outside chance,
but I just think it mostly the Mets, I thought,
are gonna be the number one seed right now to
get him. That's my guess. I'm I don't have any
inside information. I just just get a feeling that they're
going after him the hardest though.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
It's kind of nice, though, to have moves that are
actually being made and we're not having to wait or
have everyone play everyone against each other.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
We're actually having moves being made, aren't But I don't
know if I like it. You know, give him one
guy all that money and it doesn't matter who that
one guy is. Usually that doesn't pan out too many times,
you know, what I mean, you give.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Me more with soda? Are you thinking about Snell? You
just mean with so so?
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Yeah, I mean that's some serious dough to be putting
around him and then trying to build a team. I
hope you don't go cheap any other guys though, So
I agreed a.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Couple of quick text slash tweets.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Ali hit us up and said, guys, the idea of
partying like a rock star is hitting the Bally's buffet
at like three pm and going to bed at eight thirty.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Oh that works for me. Yeah, that works.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
Now again, I can stay up a little bit later
than eight thirty, so you can have that.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
Why when you're turning fifty, I don't know why you're
just shrugging that off. People want to party with you
in Vegas. I don't know why we're not doing Chris
Playing's fiftieth birthday party in Vegas.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
I think that for me, I like celebrating things for
other people than having things celebrated for me.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
That makes any sense, And I don't know, It's just I've.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Never really been I've had one big birthday party and
it was my fortieth, and it was a party.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Bro we party.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
I haven't really matched that, nor do I think I
need to match it. I think the I think the
trip to Vegas would be good. I think you ever
been the Vegas.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
You haven't been to Vegas unless you've been with me, though, that's.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
True, you are Whenever people talk about Las Vegas, they say,
have you gone with Arnie Spaniard? And I'm like, no,
I've never even been in the same studio with him.
Paul writes Arney, the Bills were up thirty one to
ten before Tua got hurt.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Face it.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
The Dolphins haven't been irrelevant since Clinton was in office.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Wow, it's been a while, though. It has been a
while for my Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
It kills me.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
It's stuff stuff being a Dolphins fans. It's finally getting
at me, you know what I mean. It's been a
long time. We have what one playoff win and how
many years? It's just very just distraught fall. It's harder,
you know that.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Let's see the last do you know, off the top
of your head, the last Dolphins win in the playoffs?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Was it what six years ago?
Speaker 2 (20:00):
It was?
Speaker 5 (20:01):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (20:01):
No, it was it was much much more than six
years ago. The last Dolphin went in the playoffs came
in two thousand when you beat the Colts.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Mind you, I was not even born. Wow, that's that's
cold A long time. I just wanted to throw that in.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
And by the way, you also weren't born the last
time I think the Raiders won a playoff game, which
was that same year, So I can kind of shut up.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
This is this is the anniversary of one of my
favorite games and one of my favorite plays of all time,
when the Dolphins were behind the Jets twenty four to six.
Then yeah, the Dan Marino fake spike into the ground.
They throw the touchdo on their mud. I think there
was less than a minute left in the game for
the twenty eight twenty.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Yeah, no, no, he dropped there for just a second.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
But Arnie, I don't know why, you know how there
are there are sports memories. Yeah you you remember and
some that you don't, and people say, hey, you remember
the I can know. I remember for some reason that
play like it was yesterday because we got that game
in our market. I remember watching it and I'd never
(21:10):
seen anything like it before. And if I remember, I
think I don't think my dad was like a Dolphins fan,
but we were watching it together. And like the little
and it was the slightest little fake and he found
who was it Ingram for the touchdowns?
Speaker 4 (21:24):
Yes was Ingram? Yes, yes, yes, look at us.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
That was a great play, by the way, that was
a great play.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
And they came back to win it. And that was
But still those super Bowls, Still those super Bowls.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
It was It seems like it was longer than thirty
years ago. Nineteen ninety four.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Wow, so thirty years ago on this date, actually thirty
years ago of this day.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
The last time you won a playoff game. He beat
the Colts in overtime in two thousand, only to lose
the next week to the Raiders in the divisional playoffs.
You were on a run there for a while, three
straight years. You'll won a playoff game in ninety eight,
ninety nine, and two thousand, But since then you are
a combinedst oh and four.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Yeah, and one of those games we lost by like
a million, didn't we? Uh, you own four games? So yeah,
it was a horrible game.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
I thought, well, you know what, there's here, here's the scoes.
Just to take us back. After the Raiders beat in
two thousand, you lost twenty to three and.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Oh one to the ravens Okay.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
In eight you lost twenty seven to nine to the
ravens Okay. In twenty sixteen, you got beat thirty to
twelve by the Steelers.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
That was the one I thought was thinking about.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
And then in twenty twenty two the Game of the
Bills was at the Snow Game thirty four to thirty one.
And then twenty six last twenty sixty seven, last year,
last one killed me. Well, okay, I think I know
what you're talking about. Nineteen ninety nine, after you beat
the Seahawks, because I'm old enough to remember when the
Seahawks were in the AFC and the AFC West. You
(22:56):
beat the Seahawks in the first round, and then you
lost in the divisional playoffs in the Jaguar sixty two
to seven.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
Yeah, that was it. See, I forgot that before. That
was a long time ago. I don't know why I
thought it was more recent. That was horrible.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
That's one of those games where when I'm never a
leave early guy. I always want to stay at games.
My kids are always leave early kids, and always my
son and my boat, they always want to leave early.
My wife is like, hey we can go now. My
mother in law is not She'll stay until the end
sixty two to seven. Though, Arnie, I think there might
be a moment where I'm like, guy, it's time to go,
(23:32):
let's go, let's get out of here. I told you
the last Raiders game I saw in person, I had
to take a Sunday off. I went, and it was
when they played the Saint Louis Rams and they got
beat like fifty It was twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen. They
got beat fifty five to zip. Stayed the whole time,
watched every snap.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
What I went.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
I went to the Chargers Dolphins game right around Thanksgiving
Jesus must have been forty years ago, and the game
was so out right, and I'm like, I'm like gonna cry.
I'm like you, like, what do you even sold out?
We drove all the way here from Arizona and sold out.
So we were just going to party in the parking lot.
We're standing around and the guy opens up his window
(24:14):
and he goes, hey, hey, we're opening up some more
tickets twenty dollars. I'm like, damn, that's cheap, twenty You
got so scammed. No, no, no, no, no, no. Listen
to what they did twenty bucks. I'm like, well, these
are gonna be high end seats, man, They're gonna be
nosebleed seats. They took. They took like a bleacher like
you said at lunchtime, or like they have it high
(24:35):
school games. And they put a bleacher in the corner
of the ND zone and sold seats for twenty dollars,
and that's where we were sitting. It was unbelievable. I'm like,
these seats should be thousands of dollars. Wow, we were
sitting in there for twenty It was great.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
You thought you thought you were gonna end up in
the nose bleeds. Oh yeah, twenty dollars, high end seats.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
It was just fantastic. It was like the best time
in my life.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
I loved it.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
At least it didn't lose sixty two to seven. Where
you watch that game? All right, I got some injury
updates I want to get to. Plus, I promise that
we would dive into the NFL schedule for the weekend,
so we'll do that when we come back. But let's uh,
let's stay on point here, because Martin Wise is watching
all the games. He's got you caught up on everything
that's trending in the world of sports.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Take away, Martin, what you got got? Two games?
Speaker 6 (25:20):
So going on in the NBA. This one about to
wrap up. Brooklyn Nets about to be victorious. It will
be their ninth win on the year, nine and ten.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
So far for them.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
One os up, Here we go, one twenty seven, There
we go.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
That's the number.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
One, twenty seven to one seventeen.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
The score right now with one second left in the
fourth quarter between the Nets and the Suns, Kevin Durant
thirty points, eight rebounds of three blocks in a losing effort.
With ten twenty left in the third quarter, the Thunder
and the Warriors golden. The Oklahoma City leads sixty seven
and fifty five. Shay Gills Alexander has twenty one points
down to Mingle with fifteen so waiting to see what
(25:57):
was what was.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Wrong with didn't come back out of the locker room.
Speaker 6 (26:01):
Now it hasn't come back out. It was one of
the Williams. Yeah, yeah, waiting to see what his issue is.
If I hear anything, I'll butt in and interrupt you guys,
please do Earlier today, earlier, the Cavaliers fell to seventeen
and two on the year, lost their first home game.
Atlanta Hawks come in one thirty five to one, twenty
four of the final score. Tray Young twenty points twenty
(26:21):
two assists in the win. The Rockets beat the seventy
six Ers one twenty two to one fifteen. Jalen Green
forty forty one points, seven rebounds. Tyrese max He had
thirty nine, ten assists, five steals in a losing effort
seventy six Ers three and fourteen on the season. James
Harden had twenty three points in the first quarter on
the way to a forty three point night as the
(26:42):
Clippers beat the Wizards one twenty one to ninety six.
Anthony Davis had a double double with nineteen points, fourteen rebounds,
seven assists as the Lakers beat the Spurs one nineteen
to one on one. Victor Webbin Yama with the double
double self twenty points in rebounds, adding three blocks to
that one. In the NHL, we had the Carolina they
(27:03):
stay at top the Metropolitan Division, beating the Rangers four
to three. The Wild beat the Sabers won the nothing.
Minnesota improves to fourteen, four and four.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Going on.
Speaker 6 (27:12):
Right now, we have the seven minutes left in the
second period. Vegas and Colorado scoreless six five minutes left
in the second period, but the Kings with a two
to one lead over the Jets and Ducks three, cracking
two with five point thirty left in the second period,
and at near the start of the second period the
Senators and the Sharks Ottawa with a two to nothing lead.
(27:32):
In the NFL, Daniel Jones is now a member of
the Vikings practice squad after clearing waivers. Fred Warner has
played nine consecutive games on a fractured ankle. He's been
taking painkillers and it will play Sunday against the Bills.
That's your reminder football players, they're different than us. Chief
funny back Isaiah Pacheco and as rusher Charles Emeni, who
will return Friday against the Raiders. Eight and O'Connell will
(27:55):
be the starting quarterback for that game for Vegas as
the Garden minsheb broke his collar bone.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
Brandon Cooks wide receiver.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
For the Cowboys, and Jake activated off ir ahead of
Tomorrow's game, and Jake Ferguson out with the concussion. Tommy
DeVito a long shot to play on Thanksgiving. He's undergoing
evaluation for his injured forearm, and Drew Locke will be
the starter if the Veto can't go.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Arnie.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
Back to you, guys, mart.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Teller, tell Arnie, these college football games are still great.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Let him know.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
The idea, the idea.
Speaker 6 (28:28):
What you said earlier today, that's why you might get
arrested in the Dominican Republic.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
Somebody heard that.
Speaker 6 (28:34):
He said, we can't let this guy talk anymore. I
mean Michigan, Ohio State. There's so much pressure on Ryan
Day in this game. They have what they spent twenty
million dollars in anil, they got Chip Kelly, they got
all this, and here's the rub. Ryan Day is a
great football coach. He just can't beat Michigan. And if
they lose to Michigan, they will.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
They will.
Speaker 6 (28:57):
Look, you'll have a team that will is probably what
top three in the nation, top without a doubt. They
end up losing to Michigan, they will be ready to
blow the entire thing up winning a national championship. Regardless
it could set Ohio State back for decades tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Ever, when is that that? I just want to say, Chris,
you kind of agreed with me, and I'm gonna tell
you why because you said nobody cares because one team
has four or five losses. All right, So in a way,
you're saying, right, nobody really cares so much about this
Ohio State Michigan did game. Nobody nationally, well, it used
to be used to be. It used to be nationally.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
It used to be nobody, nobody nationally was talking about
Ohio State Michigan if one of the teams had four
or five losses.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
They you're wrong. Come on, dude, you harden't am I wrong? Now, Martin? Now,
Martin's in the middle, now, Archi Martin, right.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
No, we still care about it because we're college football
fans and we love it. You, on the other hand,
are an Arizona fan that kind of follows college football,
so you're like, well, rivalries are done.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Martin's telling you that people care about though.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
I just remember when like USC Notre Dame was like
the talk of the week, Chris.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
It was like, here's the thing.
Speaker 6 (30:06):
The only implications in Michigan Ohio State are if Michigan
finds a way to win, that's not necessarily going to draw.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
You a big rating number.
Speaker 6 (30:16):
You're trying to get people to watch, especially on the
Thanksgiving with you got you know, now if they were
one and two in the nation.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah, so crazy that he said no offense more. But
I don't think you remember. And Christall is better than anybody.
The days of Oklahoma Nebraska and ribberries like that, and
and you know the Oklahoma Texas rivalries. I mean just
just stuff like that. I mean it was like the world.
We were just all week long. It'd be larger than life. Chris,
it was like, oh my goodness, we can wait for
(30:43):
these games every year.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
It was again, I'm living in a place where it is,
so when you're talking this, I'm like, what is this
crazy person talking about? Because this is all I've talked
about all week long.
Speaker 6 (30:55):
Make no mistake, though, if Michigan somehow finds a way
to you know, pull a rab it out of wherever
and beat Ohio State, that'll be front page news come
Monday morning.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Believe that. Yeah?
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Agree, I thanks Martin. Listen, we gotta get some of
these tweets in here. At Sticking Genius one at Plank Show,
Matt brings up a really really good pointing. Right, So,
no playoff wins since two thousand, but Arnie still picks
the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl every single year.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Arnie's picks have been so bad for twenty four years.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
Now, yeah, that is true. You think I would learn
from that, right? You think I should stop picking them?
Or what I should?
Speaker 2 (31:30):
You're not gonna stop picking them. We've told you that
for years.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
This was supposed to be their year. Though if two
it didn't yet hurt, this was really gonna be their year.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
Well I think you said that last year too. Anyway,
el Roy, I'm sorry. Eloy from Compton points out, don't forget,
don't forget the Chiefs. They can also clinch a playoff
spot this weekend. The Chiefs are ten and one and
not yet. But when they beat the Raiders plus one
of three other things need to happen. A Dolphins loss
or tie, oh jeez, and a loss by the Broncos
(32:00):
Broncos play Monday night or lost by the Chargers. Now,
I don't know if that truly does that clinch the
division for division for me, Loy, because it sounds like
it would, right if you're worried about the Dolphins and
the Chargers there, But regardless, Bills can clinch the division
if the Dolphins losing the Bill.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
I mean when I told you that most of the
divisions were pretty much clinched anyway, and I gave you
all the winners before the start of the season, and
you laughed at me.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
I think you got three of them that are right
right now.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
The three that are the clinched, no one.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
One team is clinching, and that might be the Bills, Tomron.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
And you didn't you picked the Dolphins, No, I said,
I said, Buffalo is gonna win. We were gonna get
a wild card.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
I think.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
I mean, if to be clear, I don't really know
if that's something where I'd be like patting myself on
the back saying, see, I told you, because exactly you
have about three teams every year that always win their division.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
I said this on Sunday. Maybe I didn't do a
good enough job. I don't think it's this is a
good race for the wildcar, hard race. I think it's
like between like two teams already in the which on
the AFC. Yeah, so I think it's it's real poor there.
It's not gonna be a good race at all. We're
not gonna have that excitement at the end of the year.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Why not You've got again, I pushed back, on this.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
Okay, I don't know why you would push back on.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
That because at six, seven and eight, I mean, your
Dolphins are right there in the middle of it.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
They're one game.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Doins would have to win every game, especially because, as
you mentioned the Chargers of the Broncos, one of them
has a very favorable schedule the rest of the way.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
I mean, I think there's three to four teams. I'm
not counting out the Bengals either, and they're four and second.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
God for sure they're done. Soo man, please, it's o
v er for them. Stop it.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
They've got the Steelers, Cowboys, Titans, and Browns. Sounds like
four wins to me. Steelers, suddenly you're looking human. Uh
every They've only lost one game by more than one score.
Of their losses one and that to the Eagles a
couple weeks ago. They've lost by a touchdown, a point,
three points, five, one, six.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
I don't think they're that terrible.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
I don't think the Chargers are going to have a collapse.
So the only team that could do is possibly Denver.
And they got the Browns and the Colts, Chargers, Bengals,
and Chiefs, so it's not that daughtic of a schedule
the rest.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Of the way. Do you watch the Chargers on Monday Night?
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Yeah, I mean there's still they gotta go to it.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
They've got back to back road games at Atlanta and
at Kansas City and then they turn around and they
get Baker in LA. So you might be right on that,
But I'm just I don't know what's gonna materialize in
the AFC. I don't think that suddenly the Colts are
gonna be a concern at five and seven. But you
(34:47):
want to see a battle for mediocrity. Look at that
fight for the seventh seed in the NFC right now.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
That is flat out crazy.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
Yeah, And that and Neuros are gonna have teams that
are either gonna win the division or not make the playoffs? Right,
is that the way that's going to work? Also?
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Well maybe yeah maybe because you say that about like,
for instance, Atlanta, Atlanta six and five right now, right
and they're the four seed because they're considered to be
the top spot in the NFC. What is at South?
But then you got the Bucks who are five and six,
and that's only what a game back a game and
(35:24):
a half back of the Commanders who are seven and
five and haven't had their buy yet. You know me,
for some reason, I can't quit the Saints. We've talked
about that. The NFC West Seahawks are currently a top
six and five and look same record, six and five
for Arizona.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Just a half game behind the seventh seed by the way,
So maybe.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
But as we go through the divisions, I'm just have
to ask you, did you see that story? Did I
get fooled for a bogus story? Or is this true?
Probably that Puka Nakua didn't know that the Rams were
in the NFC West. Did you see that story?
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Hey, you know they've moved around a little bit.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
That's definitely true.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
That's true. Though, that is true.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
That is the definition of locked in. Though he's just
so unconcerned with what division? Well, what did you think
he was in? The AMC? Well, I don't know what
what division did he think he was in?
Speaker 2 (36:15):
He said?
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Quote, If I'm being honest with you guys, somebody told
me we're in the NFC West. That's good to know.
Uh yeah, one day at a time. Mentality, I feel
like I say that to the guys a lot. But
when it's whatever game we have coming up on Sunday
or whatever day of the week that falls on.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
I'm curious to see what division he thought he was in.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Well, Sean McVeigh said that he was messing with reporters,
so he thought that he was messing with them.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
You should hope. So I'm like, that can't be true.
He has to know what division he is in.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
I mean, especially whenever you consider that you see three
teams to.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Right, you think why we keep seeing the San Francisco
for We got a break. I'm sorry, we got to
take a break. When we come back to the tyrack
dot Com studios injury updates on the games coming up
this weekend right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
So I was telling Mary during the break carning I
went and I started trying to find out what's going
on with Jalen Williams for the Oklahoma City Thunder who
left in the first half. At the end of the
first half with what appeared to be an eye injury.
He got poked in the eye. Let me look he is.
(37:31):
He has not returned to the game, so I did
a Twitter search at halftime Jalen Williams thirteen points, and
as I was doing my Twitter search, I came to
a very quick realization. I think everybody has Jalen Williams
in some sort of parlay. And I'm not even kidding,
but I'm just going to read some of these Jalen
(37:53):
Williams acting like he got shot. Bro, you got poked
in the eye. Get your ass back on the court, Caesar.
Jalen Williams leaves with the game when all I needed
was two points for my parlay.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
Here's one.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Jalen Williams better beat the post game press conference with
the glass fing eye of this dude.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Missus.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
The rest of the game a lot of glass eyes,
and I saw this one. Feels like the whole world,
the whole betting world, needs just two more points from
Jalen Williams.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Pain.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
So you know that's you know, you saw that story
about Lebron when a guy said I need one more
rebound Lebron when he was attending the game, and Lebron
went and got the rebound of gameing like a wink
when he was walking off the court. That's very dangerous
thing to be playing with when when not we start
doing stuff like that? You know? Uh?
Speaker 3 (38:38):
The over under was Jalen Williams to score fifteen or
more points.
Speaker 4 (38:43):
And he had thirteen huh thirteen in the first half. Oh,
this guy gonna go over.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Yeah, this guy just screenshoted.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
He had shake Gilgis over twenty, which he's already done.
Andrew Wiggins to score fifteen or more points, which he's
already done. Four rebounds for Draymond, which he's already done.
So all he needed was two more points. He hit
a parlay and apparently Jayalen williams injury is preventing it.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
How's it four? Now?
Speaker 4 (39:13):
How's Mike Parlay looking? Arizona Wildcats to win the championship
in basketball to the New York Knicks who lost to
Utah and Dallas back to back.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
Can't stop no, I I'm sorry, I can't stop laughing
at these.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Next time we see Jalen Williams, that MF for better
have one eye?
Speaker 4 (39:31):
Wow, geez, just two more.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Jalen Williams got hit in the eye, but he's limping.
Jayleen Williams better lost his eye. Ain't no way he's
coming back.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
I thought he hit his head. That's where I first thought, Yeah,
was because he was holding the back of his head.
I go, he must have come down hard on him
or something.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
By the way, the scorer with two minutes to go
actually a minute fifty five eighty one seventy eight to
thunder lead in the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
Mark Wise, we'll have an update coming out.
Speaker 4 (40:01):
I'm watching the Michigan State North Carolina game in overtime,
eighty six eighty five Michigan State with the lead.
Speaker 6 (40:08):
This was a.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Good one man. That's a shot that send it an
overtime at three pointer by North Carolina.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Martin has been all over tonight the injury situation, involving
Fred Warner a couple of others to keep an eye
on Tyler Higbee for the Rams return to practice today.
The Packers have ruled out Romeo Dabbs, Jay r Alexander,
and Eddrian Cooper for tomorrow night's game. Brock Perty limited
a practice today, Nick Bosa and Trent Williams did not practice,
and Aidan O'Connell. We'll start for the Raiders hour three
(40:37):
next on Fox Sports Radio.
