Speaker 3 (00:29):
Oh, let's go sticking, glads, go big boy. I know
they were gonna say our name for a minute there.
I thought they were just gonna say Jason Smith's and
Mike Carmon. I was gonna do my Mike Carmen and impersonation.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Let me hear it.

Speaker 5 (00:41):
What is your Mike Carmen in person? You have a
Mike Carmen impersonation?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Hi, I went to Northwestern. I'm smarter than everybody else.
That's pretty good. Thank you, Pretty good man. I could
do a Jason Smith. Let's go Jets, Let's go Syracuse.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Okay, all right, that's that's not bad.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Now they're gonna hate me. They're gonna hate me now.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
I know the fans are gonna come after you tonight
on Twitter, which, by the way, let's just throw it
out there. That's the best way to get in touch
with us throughout the night tonight, regardless of when you
tune in, when you catch the show.

Speaker 6 (01:11):
Heck, even if you're listening.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
In podcast form at a Stinkingenius one.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
That's Arnie's Twitter feed. I'm at Plank Show. But everybody
should be following us at Fox Sports Radio. Martin White's
gonna be along. He's got updates all night long. As
you heard Ian Rodney Mary Mack back in the tire
rack dot com studios. But before we talk about tire
we got two major developing stories here, Arnie Spanner.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
Number one. Yes, down go your knicks.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
That was kind of ugly tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Man, it was, especially with all the people sitting down
for Dallas. I mean there was a shock that they
have not even come close to their stride.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
I don't know what's going on with them at all.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
You know, you mean your your knicks, not that the
maps right, the next, the next next, Yeah, it's I
haven't quite got a feel yet. Maybe this is something
I noticed that I did it good.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
You'd be proud of me.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
Tonight I wrote down all the Roman numerals I noticed
that Roman numeral fourteen in the Roman numeral rundown. Yeah,
it's a little NBA ratings talk. Yeah, maybe later in
the program we can dive into a little bit more NBA.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
But of and I did add Roman numeral number twenty one,
which will be my Arizona Wildcats against your Okahaho.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Well that's what I was getting too story.

Speaker 6 (02:26):
I mean, come on, man, hang with me.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Here. Is that tomorrow or is that Friday?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
That's going I thought tomorrow five o' five.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
You go.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
This is why I wanted us to go down to
the Bahamas.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
Is a show?

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Do this show down there, Arizona Oklahoma. We could have
had some fun, hung out a little bit good, got
ourselves a couple of Swedes.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Fine, I'm fine watching it here.

Speaker 6 (02:50):
Why Why?

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Because I don't want to miss college football. I don't
want to miss the NFL. I'm fine, I'm good. If
my point is if I had to go the which again,
you're right, it would be beautiful.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
It would be.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Awesome to watch Oklahoma play Arizona in what is that?
The Battle for Atlantis? Is that what they call it
in the Battle for Atlantis. By the way, kudos to
college basketball for being incredibly more entertaining and relevant.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
In my world right now than the NBA. But I digress.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
They've got great early season matchups, which for some reason,
I feel like the Maui Invitational and that Bad Battle
for Atlantis and the uh we got the bad Boy Mowers.
I think that's also the Battle for Atlantis. Right, you
got all these great matchups going on.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
But come on, I couldn't. I could have missed.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
I would have had to miss o you Alabama on Saturday.
Can't afford that, especially with how things went down.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Right, I mean, I know, I know, I know. It's
just so much fun. You know, these these tournaments. It's
like just for the rich and famous alumni that they
could get to take a trip for a week away
and pretend like they're doing something so they could write
it off. That's that's really what it's all about. But
it would have been fun. I would have I would
have had a man.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
One O four seventy one. Arizona took care of Davidson today.
Oklahoma just snuck by Providence this afternoon, so I think
it was like a one point game.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
But yeah, so there.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
I don't know what you people want to talk about tonight,
but Arnie, I don't know if there's anything that gets
much bigger than that.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Baby, well it is.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
It's also coming up on black Fry. Did you do
any shopping today? Did you buy anything sports wise or hold?

Speaker 5 (04:25):
You're getting You're getting all your timing screwed up here, Arnie.
You got to hold off just a bit. As we
come to you live from the tirack dot com studios.
Tyrack dot com will help you get there and unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection over ten thousand recommended installers.
Ti rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
Just just hold on, because today, Ian Roddy is our

(04:46):
most recent college grad. I think, what do they call this?
Drinksgiving tonight?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Is that right?

Speaker 6 (04:52):
Friendsgiving? Friend?

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Nope?

Speaker 5 (04:54):
Come on, dude, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, whenever everyone comes
back from college and and the bars are packed and
the party is on.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Come on.

Speaker 7 (05:03):
Yeah. I don't know if I've ever heard it called that,
but I just made them with it. Oh yeah, I'm
with it. Let's let's let me go. Yeah, let's trade
market Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Mary Mac, I'm sure knows
about this. Okay, it's the party night Arnie. It's when
everyone gets together your throat.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
Now. Obviously, as a forty nine year old, I don't
need indigestion, so I won't be doing that tonight during
the show. But that's tonight. Tomorrow's Thanksgiving. Then you worried
about Black Friday on Friday? Why are you worried about
Black Friday? I'm on the day before Thanksgiving?

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Well, you do you get to shop now for Black Friday?
The timers taking you see these deals on Black Friday,
They go, you got two days left, otherwise you're not
gonna You're gonna pay a million more dollars frednything you
want to buy. So I get all panicky about that,
But it is tonight. It's the biggest party of the
night of the year. I used to I used to
love this time.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Man.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
I would never go back home though. When I was
in college, I get together with all my Fred buddies
and we take a trip with like we read an
r V and go to Vegas or drive up into
the Sequoias or something.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
We do something nutty. It's just absolutely fun.

Speaker 8 (06:07):
People willingly sat in a car with you.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
No we rent an RV, we'd get an RVs.

Speaker 8 (06:12):
Willingly sat an RV with you.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah, well it's pretty big man. Need to get one
of those sleep Hey yeah, come on now, party party I.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
By the way, if you if you just needed more information,
Ian this is how shocked I was.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
Drinks Giving actually has.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
A Wikipedia page, because apparently tonight is awful also, and
this is terrible, referred to as blackout Wednesday, but it's
also in some cities the worst drunk driving night on
the year. So let's take a moment while we're having
fun with this. There are way too many options out
there with ubers and lifts and calling mom and dad

(06:50):
or calling friends.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Don't drink and dry. We're gonna be on through the prime.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Drinking hours and some of Arnie's takes it might lead
you to drink, and I know some.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Of mine went.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
But if you're out and about, Colin Uber, call a cab,
call a lyft, whatever, don't get behind the wheel if
you've been drinking.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
It's the worst mistake you could possibly make. Thank you,
Mary Mack. Where do you want to start?

Speaker 5 (07:12):
You always thow the tweet up, but you've got so
much goodness on the Roman numeral rundown. Now we hit
the fun of the of your nick Slues and I'm
getting to watch my thunder tonight during the game. We've
got the Male Invitational third place game between Michigan State
and North Carolina. But yet here I am on this
Thanksgiving Eve, Arnie, I feel like I'm being drawn more
towards the NFL and what might be you know, a

(07:34):
less than stellar first two games for Thanksgiving, but a
prime time matchup that is I think very intriguing. Even
though your Dolphins are under five hundred, they've been like
a different team with Twoatago Aloa. I just feel like
I'm being pulled towards the NFL right now.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Yeah, you know that Thursday and Friday's games in the
NFL far from entertaining. I mean, like you said, three
of the four you figure out who's going to win
the game ahead of time. And then there's the Miami
Green Bay game. And I'm actually shocked, and I brought
this up when we were on Sunday, that Green Bay
was only a three and a half point favored over Miami.
You hear so much about the weather, and I you know,

(08:13):
I hear people arguing on Twitter. It's not like everybody
on the Dolphins was born in Florida, lived in Florida
College in Florida. I know that, But the numbers are
the numbers. And it's not like Tua has played in
cold weather games a lot and when he does, he loses.
Remember I what was the game was up in Kansas City? Yea,

(08:33):
and it was negative one hundred degrees. I mean, yeah,
it's unfit to live in and we're playing football games.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
And weather like that.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
So the weather's not gonna be nearly as bad as
it was in the Kansas City game, but it's still
gonna be cold on a short work week, and of
course the Dolphins are going to have to travel, so
it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Tough I found well.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
And by the way, let's let's let's go ahead put
a caveat in here on this, okay. And I just
want to make this point because Arnie and I do
a show every single Sunday night from ten to two
ten p to two a. We recap the NFL and
all the days, and it depends on kind of how
you look at it. We either wrap up the week
in or kick off the week right you choose. Mary
mack is our is our director, and she's here tonight

(09:18):
so she can attest to this as well. But Arnie,
you are the same person that before that Kansas City
Chiefs game in the weather where you talk about now
it's too cold that no one should have been playing.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
We're leading up to that game.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
And I hate to remind you of this because you
don't like to have your words held against you. No,
you didn't say weather doesn't matter, and it doesn't matter
how cold it is, We're gonna beat him.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
I don't know if you remember that.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
But I don't remember that part. Yeah, I don't get it.
But the weather, the weather in Green Bay is that
nearly like that though, Chris, So don't get all high
and mighty. So it's only gonna be in the twenties only, do.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
You know what? The cold? You know what?

Speaker 6 (09:54):
The only in the twenties.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
It's gonna feel like seventeen with the wind show win
out of the North. It was that didn't miles per hour.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
You want to know what's so funny here? It's like
about thirty five forty And I went and I went
outside to get my mail, and I'm like, whoa. And
I had a sweatshirt and long sleeve shirt and I go, oh,
I'm cold, man, I've better run back home. This get
a little tough out there, but you know it's gotta
be tough. But I wouldn't try to be a tough
guy with the no undershirt and let my arms all
bear or anything like that. I've I'd wear like four

(10:24):
shirts if I was those players.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
So there is the I was reading an article that's
on the Miami Dolphins. I guess it's like one of
the team pages for SI, and they point out, hey,
Tua and the Dolphins are oho and six when it's
forty six degrees and colder, right forty six. But their
take is that's miss leading because if you think about it,

(10:51):
six games span over what now four seasons, it's not
the greatest sample size. But I'm I mean, it's just
it's not as if he played all that terribly in
those games.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Right, you go back to and last week is our
last week? Excuse me?

Speaker 5 (11:10):
Last year is a little bit of an anomaly, right.
I just think it was minus twenty seven was the
wind chill there were in nineteen mile an hour winds
whenever they played Kansas City in the playoffs. I don't
know how anyone accomplished anything that night, and I've got
your back. But when they played Buffalo, he was seventeen
of thirty for twenty thirty four yards and two touchdowns,

(11:31):
didn't have a pick. Josh Allen was better. You lost
that game thirty two to twenty nine.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
You know.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
So it's not as if he's been terrible in some
of these cold weather games, aren't he? As long as
it's not you know, negative degrees and you don't have
any parcipitation or any any weather that's gonna be incredibly windy,
which it doesn't look like. I'm kind of with you
on this. I don't know how big of a deal
it really truly is, because you're looking at six whole

(11:59):
game over the last four seasons.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Right, I think it's more of a combination of everything.
Also the short week, the going on the road, and
the cold weather out there. You know. I was trying
to look at the line. If home field advantage is
supposed to be what between three or four points in
the NFL, All right, let's just say three and a half.
The weather, isn't that maybe another two more points? We're
making such a big deal about it, Oh, in six

(12:23):
under forty degrees. Everybody's heard that stat so now you're
up to like five and a half points out there,
throwing the short work week. This line really should have
been six, six and a half in favor of Green Bay.
I'm shocked that it was down the three because early
money came in on the Dolphins, so they're seeing something
that I don't. And I'm a big Dolphin fan. I
hope two has a good game. Two has been phenomenal

(12:45):
since coming back from the concussion. Ever since you questioned
whether he should be the quarterback and he should retire,
he's been playing his best football. So he's been absolutely
a tremendous h Well, it's nott Arnie.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
The opening line for this game was three.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Yeah, three of those three and a half. Yeah, but
it's up.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
But I'm saying it's three and a half right now,
So I don't know why you're shocked by that. That's
kind of been where it's been for a while now.
I was shocked at the opening that it opened.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
All Okay, Okay, I see what you're saying up.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
At Green Bay, like five and a half to six
of with the way I did all my outs there, yeah, by.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
The way, and then two other things, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
I'm looking at scoresanodds dot Com scores andanodds dot Com
had the Cowboys opening line against the Giants at eight.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
That seems big.

Speaker 5 (13:31):
It's down to three and a half currently and they
have the opening line for the Lions. I'm gonna have
to dig on this. It doesn't seem right to me.
Where's where's my guys that wet the beat constantly, that live,
eat and breathe spreads? Come on, help me out at
stinking genius one? Uh, Lions open at three and a half.
That now, that's that, that's bet up to nine.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
And a half.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Yeah, there's no way, there's no way open it three
and a half.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
No, that's that's impossible. So, I mean there's a lot
of people getting rich. And you know why you can't
open up at that because if it opens up at
three and a half and you get down at Detroit
minus three and a half and then you buy back
at Chicago plus ten, boy, you're gonna destroy some sports
books out there if you keep that up for the
course of a couple of weeks. Try in the middle
of the game. And that's a big number to middle too.

(14:17):
So no, I couldn't have started a three and a half.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
One other note, by the way, and our buddy overnight
Joe hit us up with this, and I guess I.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Didn't realize it.

Speaker 5 (14:26):
If the Dolphins lose the Packers and the Bills beat
the Niners, yeah, the Bills have already won the AFC East.

Speaker 6 (14:32):
I know. That's disgusting, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
My gosh, that's why Miami has no chance of I mean,
it's gonna be so tough just to get into as
a wild card.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
Unfortunately, they have no chance now winning the division.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Yeah, I mean there's always a chance, right, but it's
gonna take a lot of work in order to get there.
All right, we got a big show coming up tonight,
a lot of NFL talk on the horizon, including the
latest on Aaron Rodgers, which Arnie Nighty a show every
Sunday night, and we were talking about this Sunday and
I had to be honest with you, I've tuned out

(15:05):
a lot of the Aaron Rodgers stuff because I feel
like there's so much good football going on. But he
said something this week that I think caught everyone's attention,
as did Jerry Jones about the future of Mike McCarthy.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
By the way, just for those that are curious.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
Arnie Spanier not a big fire up coach in the
middle of the season.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Guy.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Not a surprise by that. I thought that would be
one of your bell cows. But we'll talk about the
future of Mike McCarthy in a preview that Cowboys game.
Roman numerals nine and ten are focusing on college football tonight, Yeah,
and the Roman numeral rundown, and will debate whether or
not Dan Hurley is too much. It's all coming up
on a busy, busy night here on Fox Sports Radio

cannot believe, Arnie that we already have a situation where
somebody can clench.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
It a vision this weekend? Is that more to you?
A tip of the cap to Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
No, stop it, stop it, don't stop it. Come on now.
Had to have not gotten hurt for five games, it'd
be a whole different scenario, a whole different story.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
There.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Just gotta live with it. I mean, it is what
it is, and it's gonna cause the Dolphins their season
unless they could win every game from here on out,
and even at that point, they might not still make
the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
So let's see what happens.

Speaker 5 (17:46):
You're still I gotta give you credit, even with the
icy health situation, you're still all in on to it.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
I thought, that's my guy, that's my quarterback.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
Can you look pretty smart right now?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Of course?

Speaker 6 (17:58):
I mean looking.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
He was the offensive player of the week in the AFC.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
Yeah against Oh wait, he wasn't the Raiders. Last who
gears the Patriots, I guess, one of the worst teams
in the NFL New England Patriots, who also played a.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Month and a half ago. You wanted you guys were
talking about he shouldn't ever play the game of football again.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
Well, listen, you would feel the same way if he
wasn't on your team. If for any yeah, if t
Will played for any other team and you saw his
body do the things after a concussion, Arnie Spaniel would
be sitting here saying, I don't know if I'd let
my son go back out there, because he's the Dolphins
quarterback and you're a guy, you're like, ah, he's got
to get back out there, Chris.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
The only person I said to who should not be
playing football was Alex Smith that I'm like enough that
you you made your money. What you're going through. You
almost have your leg amputated, right, you need to retire.
You should not have come back for that final year
where he started. That was I thought was he was good.
He was pretty good. Not the point whether he was

(19:00):
good or not.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Any Oh, now it'd because well, no, no, he shouldn't
have been out there.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
You just care about your guy. Come on, it's fine,
just own it.

Speaker 5 (19:09):
If he was he was on any other team, If
he was on any other team, you would have felt
the exact opposite.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
No, I thought people made too much of those concussions.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
Are like, oh, you think people are making too much
of concussions.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Well, because when you see so there's so many more
concussions that we don't know about, Chris Sure, especially in practice. Gosh,
I wonder how many of there are in practice that
just don't get reported, or how many that the players
don't report that they got concussions just because they wanted
to keep it quiet.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
I bet there's a lot. I bet there's a lot.
Doesn't make it right, no, it does. It doesn't make
it right right, but it also magnifies One of my
favorite points is everybody wants to act like they care
about concussions, and you want to act like, let's try
to make the game safer until it's one of your players.
And when it's one of your players, that's the moment
where you're like, whoa, Now that's only his eighth concussion.

(20:01):
He's gonna be fun. How many concussions did everyone else have?
When it's your guy, suddenly like oh hold up here,
he could go.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
How can nobody saything about the guy that bills who
had ni concussions. I don't even remember his name anymore.
Her No, no, no, like up till like last year
or the year before.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
I think they have.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
I think I don't know anyone that's had nine reported concussions.
I think anybody is like, dude, what's going on there?

Speaker 3 (20:27):
Well, I don't remember the name, but it wasn't like
we're all going that guy needs to retire now, I mean,
come after the fifth we didn't say enough is enough?

Speaker 6 (20:34):
To listen again?

Speaker 4 (20:36):
I know this is on the Roman. This isn't on
the Roman. Numeral rundowns.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
That's okay, Okay, you can improvise a little bit. It's Thanksgiving.

Speaker 5 (20:43):
I just find it to be absolutely hilarious. And you're
part of this. But everyone wants to act outraged and caring,
and it's like, gosh, concussion, we got to take care
of these.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
I have a softy though, you know that, right, Yeah,
you're very soft.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
But as soon as your guy and I mean the
royal you, not just Arnie but any of you, as
soon as it involves your quarterback or your star player,
it's like, well, how much longer does he have to
sit out? And honestly, I mean, it's kind of funny
how we treat injuries in general. I look at how
people are talking about Dak Prescott. I've never seen a

(21:20):
quarterback have a hamstring injury that was that bad, right,
I mean it's almost as if we can't wait to
question the toughness of guys.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
I already questioned him before we found out that he
was gonna be going for the rest of the year, Like,
do you think they're making that up? So thinking just
go ahead and yank him out of the game as
they were getting clobbered. Oh, wouldn't that be the best
I put that. I put that on Twitter, and I
didn't take it down.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
You just say, I.

Speaker 6 (21:48):
I think I'll tell you what I think.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
In your heart of arts, you still feel that that
the Cowboys might have said, all right, just uh say
you're hurt, get.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Well, not anymore. Not that he's called the rest of
the year, not anymore.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
So with that in mind, we got a lot to
get to on the Thanksgiving slate. Now, we spent some
time on Dolphins Packers. That's the primetime game eight twenty Eastern.
A lot of talk about the weather. It's gonna be
twenty seven degrees. There won't be snow. Seventeen degrees is
the wind chill. So it's gonna be nasty. And we
just said, oh and six for two in games under
forty five degrees. But you dig a little deeper and

(22:22):
it's not as if he's played that poorly. Do either
one of the early games do anything for you?

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Well, doesn't Detroit have some injuries? Isn't Montgomery questionable?

Speaker 5 (22:32):
Montgomery's questionable? The same the Sun God. Yeah, the Sun
God is questionable as well.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
Okay, so you know that would have some effect.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
I mean, Gibbs is still a pretty more than a
capable back to handle the entire load, but missing Zame
Brown that will hurt the passing game a little bit.
Still good enough to get by the Bears, especially at
home on a short work week, but they may not
cover the ten. Maybe a closer game than we're anticipating.
And I really don't know what to make the Giants

(23:03):
in Dallas. Dallas looks so good against Washington, but you
never know when they're just gonna, you know, the other
half of them shows up and they look like dog
do Not that the Giants already great juggernaut either so,
but these games always somehow tend to be very entertaining.

Speaker 6 (23:20):
But that could be a good game also.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
Yeah, I think so? If do you now watch?

Speaker 5 (23:27):
Let's let me give a little background for those who
aren't familiar with our Sunday night.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Fights that we have.

Speaker 5 (23:31):
Arnie thinks Caleb Williams sucks. I think he's the next coming.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
I'd say sucks, but I didn't have him in the
Hall of Fame like you guys did.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
He's really good.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
I think that he is the future, maybe not just
the Bears, but maybe the NFL. And I think that
with Jade Daniels and what he's been so far in Washington,
even though they're coming back to Earth, I think that
they're electric. Bo Nicks has been pretty pretty good at
Denver as well too. I think this crop of rookie
quarterbacks has been really fun. And I think when Pinnix
takes over in Atlanta, Arnie, I think he's gonna be

(24:00):
thirty three years old by the time he finally takes over.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Right, could be ready to time to retire.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
But do you watch hoping that Caleb struggles just so
you can?

Speaker 3 (24:09):
No? No, no, there's two things that what I want
him to do. Well. I actually like him. I think
he's a good quarterback. But what I mean by good,
I mean like seven out of ten right now?

Speaker 4 (24:22):
No, do I have to.

Speaker 6 (24:25):
Baby?

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (24:25):
And and by the way, just since you brought him up,
did you see the story about USC retiring his number.
They should, Well, how many numbers do they retire in football?

Speaker 5 (24:38):
I can't let me look at the the USC retired
Ian Roddy's, aren't you No, you're a Texas No, your girl,
my girl like.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Is like Ojy's retired and all that are we? I
don't know all these numbers could be retired. Do you
have to use him again, don't you?

Speaker 5 (24:56):
Mike garrett O, J Simpson, Charles White, Arson Palmer, Matt Lioner,
and Reggie Bush.

Speaker 9 (25:04):
And Caleb too as of recently right now?

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Now you add Caleb to that list, and hey.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Caleb deserved what was Caleb's one loss total?

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Won a Heisman Trophy?

Speaker 3 (25:12):
What was I asked your what his one loss total was?
That doesn't give me the answer.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Hold on, he won, he almost made the damn playoffs
his first year there. I don't think.

Speaker 9 (25:22):
He's won and three on Heisman trophies.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
If you're gonna, why do you ask these questions when
you don't do the research to look it up yourself.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
He's warranted to be having his number retired. As the
greats that you just mentioned out there, most of them
you know, some of them Hall of famous for.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
He went nineteen and eight as well.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
Actually, uh, I don't know if he would have played
in the Bowl game, so maybe like eighteen and eight,
he was eleven and three his first season, John my
number retired.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
They won a Heisman Trophy.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
I mean, don't most Heisman trophy either get a number
retiring or a statue. Isn't that a big deal for
a program?

Speaker 3 (25:58):
You get the statue, so get that. I don't know
if you just have the number retired.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Though, really so the number hold on a number being
retired to you is a bigger deal than having a statue.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
No, I thought the statue is a big thing, But
I just didn't think he deserved to have his number retired.
I didn't know how many other people in USC had
theirs retired. So I mean, at least there's at least
oj and some of the other guys have had their numbers.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Ian Is there is there a controversy over this? Are
people mad about it?

Speaker 4 (26:23):
Or I don't? Caleb?

Speaker 9 (26:24):
Yeah, like you said, playing you want to hide again on.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
The trail Center, then I guess it's got.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
To be that way.

Speaker 7 (26:29):
If you look at how Lincoln Riley's looks sense, you know,
Caleb might have been responsible for more than we think.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
Who knows, Oh, I can guarantee you Caleb Williams is responsible.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
For more than you think.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
My favorite narrative about USC over the last two and again,
I want to make this very clear. I'm an Oklahoma guy,
but I'm not one of these dudes that's like Lincoln
Riley sucks.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
I like Lincoln Rally. He was my guy.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
I hate that he left the way that he did,
but I think Oklahoma's going to be better off the
long run. There's my shot if you want. But I
think my favorite USC hot take is that, well, now
that Caleb Williams is gone, you know, in Miller Moss,
they got a guy that can truly.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Run Lincoln Riley's offense.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
It's got to be one of the top five dumbest
takes in the history of college football. If you said that,
you need to look in the mirror and have a
conversation with yourself because it was a lot of people
on the West coast. You know, you are, where's Miller
Moss right now, like knocking on the door of the
transfer portal or he's already in. But that was a
guy that was gonna do more for you than the
number one pick in the draft and the Heisman Trophy

(27:30):
winner get out of here.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
But yeah, so you have a little bit of a
problem with this.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
It sounds like I just you know, I'm like, come on, now,
we're looking at one lost record. Yes, he has the
Heisman and obviously that, but you know, towards the end
of his career there at USC it wasn't all roses,
that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
That's not roses right now either.

Speaker 5 (27:47):
All right, listen, we got a lot to get to
on the Thanksgiving slate. We've touched a little bit on
Miami Green Bay, just started to scratch the surface on
the Bears and the Lions. But maybe some of the
biggest stories are coming out of the Giants, Cowboys, Gin.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
We'll dive into that next.

Speaker 5 (28:01):
But first, Martin Weitz, is it with everything that's trending
in the world of sports?

Speaker 4 (28:04):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (28:05):
Martin?

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Right now?

Speaker 10 (28:06):
The Lakers leading the Spurs one oh six to eighty nine,
six twenty two left in the fourth quarter. Anthony Davis
nineteen points, thirteen rebounds, seven assists, Victor Weinbnyama eighteen points
and nine rebounds for the trailing San Antonio Spurs. The
Nets and the Suns Brooklyn with a twelve point leads
seventy eight to sixty six. Ben Simmons will twelve points
to seven rebounds, Devin Booker pacing the Suns with twenty

(28:28):
right now, the Nuggets leading the Jazz eighty five to
sixty eight. Yokics with twenty eight and seven rebounds. Walker
Kestle fourteen points, nine rebounds, three blocks himself. The Oklahoma
City Thunder and the Golden State Warriors good matchup in
the Western Conference in nine two forty five in the
first quarter, remaining Oklahoma City with a twenty nine to
twenty one lead. In the NHL, these Dallas Stars ooh goodness.

(28:50):
Chicago Blackhawks lead to Dallas Stars six to one, fifteen
minutes left in the third period.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
I know right, uh.

Speaker 10 (28:56):
Philadelphia Nashville tied to apiece in four minutes left in
overtime twelve minutes into the first period. The Vegas Golden
Knights at Colorado Avalanche scoreless. The Kings lead the Jets
with six minutes left in the first period. Five minutes
left in the first period for the Ducks and the
crack In Ducks lead by two to nothing. In the NFL,
the Daniel Jones will join the Vikings practice squad after

(29:17):
being released by the Giants and clearing waivers. Fred Warner,
forty nine Ers All Pro linebacker, revealed that he had
been playing through a fractured ankle in Week four. He's
taken painkilling injections before every game. He'll play in his
ninth consecutive game this Sunday against the Bills. Isaiah Pacheco
broke his fibula in week two. He and edge Russell

(29:38):
Charles Amenihu are expected to return for Kansas City on
Friday against the Raiders. Aidan O'Connell will be the starting
quarterback for Vegas in that game after guard Emits.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
Who broke his collar bowl last week.

Speaker 10 (29:49):
Romeo Dobbs wide receiver and Jaire Alexander cornerback ruled out
for Tomorrow night's game against the Dolphins.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Congratulations Arnie the Charge the Chargers. JK.

Speaker 10 (29:58):
Dobbins is out for Week thirteen against the falcon and
Brandon Cooks wide receiving for the Cowboys activated at of
tomorrow's game, and Jacob Ferguson ruled out with the concussion.
Tommy DeVito a long shot to play on Thanksgiving. He's
undergoing further evaluation for his injured forearm. Drew Lock was
very upset he didn't start last game. Well, be careful

(30:18):
what you wish for, Drew boy, because you might get
to go tomorrow back to you guys.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Thanks.

Speaker 5 (30:23):
Martin Marver really understood the the Drew Lock hate of Hule.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
I always kind of dig Drew Locked.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
I don't know why he hasn't been able to get
more of an opportunity, but looks like maybe a golden
opportunity for him tomorrow to get the start in that game.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
I think the not got him was he was supposed
to be the savior. Look at his size, look at
his side, look at everything he is. He's a you know,
optimal quarterback, NFL quarterback, and he's gonna be all everything
and hasn't been anything.

Speaker 6 (30:55):
So that's maybe that's the reason.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
You know, maybe maybe so, But I am a I
I want to watch him give me something to get
excited about in that game. I mean, whenever you're thinking
about Thanksgiving Day games, right and you're liked, we got
the Cowboys and the Giants, I'm sure that. Let's see
what network is out? Is that is that on Fox tomorrow? Yeah,
that's on Big Fox at three thirty Central, four thirty Eastern, Armie.

(31:19):
Can you imagine when you're sitting down in the excitement
of the executive, it's like, yeah, man, New York versus Dallas,
let's go.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
Let's all right, Cooper Rush versus Drue Locke?

Speaker 6 (31:30):
Like what?

Speaker 4 (31:33):
Oh man?

Speaker 3 (31:34):
But by the way, can can I just say one thing?

Speaker 6 (31:35):
Real cool?

Speaker 4 (31:36):
Rush has been pretty good? Yeah? Go ahead?

Speaker 6 (31:38):
No, no, just I'm going to take a complete left turn?
Could I do that?

Speaker 4 (31:41):
So you don't want to talk about the NFL anymore? No?
I do.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
I do want to talk about the NFL. I thought
you were gonna give me a break when we were
done with the UH, with the update. I thought he
was something in that. I dare don't leave my lane
on something like this, because you know, we don't. We
never talk about this. Did you see what happened the
NHL game between the Lightning and the Capitol Did you see?

Speaker 5 (32:03):
No, you're you're talking about a sport that I barely
know is even being played right now.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
The game was tied at three, and the Capitol's goalie
Lindren went to pass the puck and he fanned on it.

Speaker 6 (32:15):
So he took it and went.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
To wrap it around his goal and he shot it
right in. He just put it right in his own goal.
I mean boom center where you couldn't have put a
better spot. I mean like he was two inches away,
just put it right in his goal.

Speaker 6 (32:29):
And what did I just do?

Speaker 4 (32:30):
What did I?

Speaker 5 (32:30):
So your son is a goalie, was a hockey goalie. Yes,
you know, I think about like odd dad, You know
things that my son was a sinner whenever he played.
So I was always nervous about the snap like things
people take for granted. His snap he tried to catch
one time and couldn't throw the ball back to the pitcher.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
He had the Mackie Sasser thing.

Speaker 6 (32:51):
Yeah, So I bring that.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
Up only to ask is that one of those fears
that you always had, like as a goalie.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
Dad, or is that just one of those things that
never happened.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Yeah, like a bad goal like okay, like one of
the other goalies. Uh, like that one kid shot the
puck down the ice on when they were killing a
penalty and it went all the way down and scored,
you know, like one of those soccer goals that you're
kicking from like you know midfield that it goes into
the goal something something crazy like that. That's the part
that comes. Or when your own player shoots it in

(33:22):
on your own team, that's that's a killer.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
Someone's got to have audio of this somewhere, right.

Speaker 6 (33:27):
I have it.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
I think I put it up on Twitter, but it's
all over the place.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Oh my gosh, what a disaster.

Speaker 5 (33:32):
So it is it's yeah, so it's it's completely the
goalie's fault. There was nobody around on Let's see this
is this is what it sounded like. Is it good audio?
Can I play it?

Speaker 3 (33:45):
I didn't hear the audio, but I'm sure yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
I got it right here, hold on.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Lost it, got it back for the past, deflect it down.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
And grin.

Speaker 5 (33:55):
Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, that was bad.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
I mean he comes back, he comes out to get
the puck.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
Okay, So the goalie is in front of his own goal,
right and when he turns to send it off.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
The boards, twenty of room to put it behind.

Speaker 4 (34:17):
Money, and he just puts it right in his own
neck right in.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
He just must I don't know what he was thinking.
It was. It was Padic tigers. Something was nobody even
near him. It was just a who that was a
bad and they lost by a goal I believe.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
And that was the game winning goal. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
I don't know if that was the game winner. I
think it was five four final.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
But oh was it a five to four final? Okay?

Speaker 5 (34:38):
Okay, yeah, yeah, five four final? That made it four
to three at that point. Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (34:43):
Yeah, that was a bad one.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
We don't usually get it a lot in the hockey.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
One.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
When I saw that, I'm like.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
Oh my gosh, what that What were you doing?

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Man?

Speaker 3 (34:51):
I mean, that's that's that's bad man. Talk about bloopers.
That's that would be a round for a while.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
Well, I guess he.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
It wasn't a game winning goal because the Cap did
come back and win, But the Charlie lingrant Old goal
has got to go down as one of the biggest
sports bloopers.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
What do you see in twenty twenty four?

Speaker 6 (35:10):
Yeah, you see it.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
All the time in soccer, but not in the hockey.

Speaker 5 (35:14):
Listen, if you're not talking about the incredible run of
the Los Angeles Kings, I've got no time for your.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
Hockey this year.

Speaker 5 (35:21):
All right, we got to take a break. When we
come back to the Tyrack dot Com Studios. Let's drill
deep on that Cowboys Giants matchup and the bigger stories
off the field with the Cowboys, right right, we'll talk
about it next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 5 (35:44):
Are you you're doing up Thanksgiving tomorrow? I know you
got the show tomorrow night. You and you do VJ
or in tomorrow?

Speaker 4 (35:52):
Right?

Speaker 3 (35:52):
VJ myself for in tomorrow. My kids got the turkey
trot in the morning, and then we're all driving down
about an hour's off the ear to do Thanksgiving it
my sister in law, and then I'll probably leave early
so I don't have to eat their food and my
wife's cooking, and I'll just probably stop somewhere on the
way home. So everything's pretty much closed where I live.

(36:14):
They shut everything down for that. There's nothing open, nothing
at all, not even I wonder why not even fast
food though, nothing like the McDonald's close. So we don't
have an eye hob Oh, yeah we do that. Yeah,
we do have it, but it's.

Speaker 6 (36:30):
Not open all the time.

Speaker 8 (36:32):
Denny's.

Speaker 6 (36:33):
We don't have a Denny's anymore.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
You have a are you guys familiar with the v
I the village in? Do you have that in La? No?

Speaker 6 (36:38):
We don't have that here, and we don't know.

Speaker 5 (36:40):
You know, okay, I have the village. I think village
in or Denny's is where Ben took me whenever I
made my my trip to La. He took me to
the fancy restaurant.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
So hey, he paid?

Speaker 3 (36:51):
What more do you want than that?

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Did he pay?

Speaker 5 (36:53):
I don't remember he might have. That was only seventeen
years ago, But I digress. So no, I mean the span,
it's not a mom's got to make this and someone's
got to make this.

Speaker 6 (37:04):
No.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
No, My wife's cooking is bad enough because she uses
everything that has no flavor. You know, she's person if
it's got any oils or well you know what's that?
Not the sesame oil, but the all the all the
oils and stuff that they put in. She's she hates
that stuff. She has anxiety when we go to the
market together.

Speaker 6 (37:24):
I won't let her go with me anymore.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
It's just she don't all the good stuff.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
No, she gets nothing. She's like, don't have this, don't
have that, don't have this. She listened to this. She
won't even take the receipt. You know, when they hand
you the receipt, she won't take the receipt because she
goes on the receipt. It's gotten certain germs that get
into your skin.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
Yeah, you probably need to have her talk to something.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Yeah, there's something wrong with her, something that's mental. That's something.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
Yeah, let me hit a couple of tweets and I
guess corrections here. Okay, Overnight, Joe writes, Guys, I want
the Dolphins to make the playoffs, then for the Bills
to crush them in the playoffs. That would be three
wins against Miami on the way to a Super Bowl victory.
Anyone as old as me remembers Miami beating Buffalo twenty
straight in the seventies.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
Yeah, I do remember that. I must have missed all
the Buffalo Super bowls though that I did miss out there.

Speaker 6 (38:14):
Sorry, Buffalo went to this. Well, they didn't win the
four row. Yeah, they lost four. Now, I think my.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
Man Prito here is missing formed here as Caleb's number
is the same as Carson Palmer a hole. Riley brought
it back for the cry Baby, so it was already
retired before the carpetbagger came over. Well, in fairness, I'm
always here for a little bit of a USC slander, prido.
But Carson Palmer wore three, Caleb Williams worth thirteen.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
You know, if this was what twenty years ago, we'd
be doing the whole four hours on USC Notre Dame.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
You know that, don't you.

Speaker 5 (38:48):
Oh, we'd be doing the whole four hours on USC
Notre Dame. We'd be doing probably quite a bit on
Ohio State and Michigan.

Speaker 6 (38:54):
Michigan, yeah, not too so.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
Livalries are just out the window.

Speaker 5 (38:58):
Now there's another nine. The USC just sucks. It's not
out the window. If UFC was eleven and one heading
into this game, we'd be talking about it like crazy.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
Now there's some rivalries that the record didn't make anything
and you still was pumped up. But like the Umber
and Alabama game was, yeah there, Auburn sucks. You're just
still looking for that game.

Speaker 4 (39:19):
You would know it's not any less at all. Stop it.

Speaker 5 (39:22):
I don't know why you try to do this with
college football. It's not true. If if Michigan we're not
talking about Michigan and Ohio State, is that rivalry ruined.
No Michigan sucks this year. They're six and five. Right,
it's still a great rivalry. It's still gonna do great
TV ratings. But we just don't care about it like
we once did because one of the team sucks.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Well, if they're both like Oklahoma Nebraska used to be
great rivals and they're both average, and that's still not
a rivalry. They're just you know, they're the same. You know,
what are you trying to say, not that there's no
more rivalries in football? Like, we don't care. And even
if no one does suck there or is average, we'd

(40:02):
still get all into it. We were all hyped up.
It didn't make a difference in the USC not youre dame.
If one team had two losses or three losses.

Speaker 6 (40:10):
One teams, well that's a little problem.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
Right, Stop this is an old take. You guys have
to stop this with college football.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
If anything, you're getting the resurgence and the rebirth of
one of the great rivalries in college football with everything
on the line. Saturday night, Ian Roddy tell them Texas
and Texas A and M are playing for a spot
in the SEC Championship game. The tickets are through the
roof Aggie fans are over. What do you mean that

(40:42):
rivalries are going away? Aren't he It's one of the
biggest games in college football.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
You got one. You're right about that. A and M
in Texas. It grews to be a great rivalry. You're
one right about that one.

Speaker 5 (40:53):
But again again, if Auburn is good and Alabama is good,
people care about it.

Speaker 3 (40:58):
I don't think like it used to though, Chris. Let's
be honest, it doesn't that feel like it used to be.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
I quit, I'm out.

Speaker 8 (41:07):
Rivalries are only like good if the teams are good.
Team yeah, no one cares. But if the teams are good,
rivalries are still there.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
Is Arizona State Arizona still a good rivalry?

Speaker 3 (41:19):
Oh, the best rivalry in all of sports. What are
you talking about?

Speaker 5 (41:22):
You're going in four and seven in that game, so
nobody's talking about.

Speaker 8 (41:26):
It unless they both suck, then.

Speaker 4 (41:29):
I get it.

Speaker 5 (41:30):
Whenever people are like, oh, well, conference realignment has ruined
all the rivalries, No, it's you're still kidding the best
teams playing each other, but this year you just have
some of those that have been dinged by teams like
Michigan not being good. Let's dive into that more next
when we come back Infra Jason and Mike.
