Speaker 1 (00:01):

(00:27):
for the guys tonight, Jason Smith and his best friend
Mike Harmon right here on Fox Sports Radio. Dolphins had
a chance to get back in this thing. It's you know,
it's tough being a Dolphin fan. It really does suck sometimes.
I gotta tell you it's tough being a Dolphin fan. VJ.
They could have gotten back in this game. Green Bay
takes over on downs in their own territory.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Patrick, when and I were just talking, We're watching the game.
We're talking back and forth over to mic from room
to room, and I said, even if they score right here,
I kicked the extra point, there's still enough time in
this game. You're gonna get the ball back two more times.
You don't have to worry about one possession. But on
fourth down, I said, I would have still taken the
field goal because that makes it fourteen twenty seven. It's
still a two possession game, and you don't need another

(01:10):
two point conversion. Two touchdowns wins the game. You win
by one. That's how I would have never went for
it right there, because it have gone for it. Yeah, No,
it wasn't the one yard line. That's the problem.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
One and a half.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah, what doesn't matter, man, you haven't been able to
run the football. Go look at the Russian stats so
they know you're throwing it to play before that was
the money play. He held the fake a little too
long and tried to carry it out. That's old Patrick.
We had a quarterback, our quarterback this year. There were
times I would tell him, hey, man, bump the fake.
If you know they're coming. Sometimes you gotta just stick
the ball in there, pull out quick and make the throw.

(01:44):
Don't try to you know, don't try to carry out
the fake. And he tried to carry out the faking
and bootlegg and by that time the defensive back was
up on John Nu and next thing you know, he
bounced the ball down, even though I thought he got
there way early. No flag there also too no lay
hit o Rashan Gary interesting and of course also he
steps on to his helmet after that too. So I
guess every quarterback in the league that gets hit, you know,

(02:06):
and I.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Don't believe that that's true football roughing the passer.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
But the way they've been calling it, as I always say,
I'm a football player, I played the game, and I
think the game is softer today. But if you're gonna
call it a certain way, just call it that way
across the board. Don't call it certain ways for certain players.
If you're gonna call players getting buck, call like quarterbacks
getting a shoulder or form shiver and they fall to

(02:29):
the ground, and you're calling that roughing the passer like
they do for Pat Mahomes all the time, all the time,
all the time, all the time. But you're not gonna
call a guy taking a step and then lunging and
leaping and elbowing to it on the top of his
back and snapping his neck like that, that's not roughing
the passers.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Okay, cool.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
The problem I have if you know you're gonna go
for it on fourth down, you gotta run the ball
on third You.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Have to try to run it on they try to
run it on second. What it looked like, right, they
lost the yard. They can't run the football.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
You know, maybe I would have given it to Moszt.
I don't know. I just know if you're gonna go
for it on fourth, you gotta run one more time
on third and see if you can go ahead and
create a hole out there. You know. Look, I would
have gone at all. So I have no problem with
that happening, But unfortunately it just did not work out.
Dolphins just shooting themselves in the foot down sixteen.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Well, see if there's gonna be some miracle here real
quick on he just like I said, right, So John
new Smith got hit early, right, John Smith got hit early.
Now they turn around and throw a flag on us
for a light, a light you know, like ribcage grab
on the receiver like it's it's not even bro it's
not even across the board. That's why games like this

(03:39):
don't bother me, because when you're on the road in
the NFL, the officiating could be lopsided, the luck is
gonna be lopside. I think it's hard to win on
the road in the NFL. It's just really hard to
do it. You I almost have to play you know,
air free football or just be that much better than
your opponent.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
So do you think the officiating is that bad overall
across the board league?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, I do, And because once again, they don't call
it evenly across the board. If one quarterback gets shoved
to the ground and it's rough in the passer, then
you have to call it for everybody. You can't just
call it for certain guys or when you fall on
a guy, you know, and your body weight gets on
him and stuff like that. Like, you can't just call

(04:20):
it when you want to. You have to be consistent
with it and call it throughout, you know everything. And
as we see Josh Jacobs catch a short pass and
then take it what fifty something the yards down the field,
and that's the defense just now just starting to wear down.
Seven is some change left in the fourth quarter twenty
seven to eleven. That also to on that last drive,
it changes a lot. Man, if that scores twenty. If

(04:41):
that scores twenty instead of twenty seven, that brings us
back to the drop punt that starts the game. That's
where it starts. Yeah, right, that's the whole thing up there,
that's the whole tone.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
You know you were talking about officiating, just on the
little side note, because I saw something on your Twitter
that you put out this like I discussed it last
night filling in with Chris Planke about Danny Hurley and
what's going on with him. Yes, I mean, okay, first
of all the three games that Yukon lost, the officiating
was one sided. I will give you that. But the

(05:12):
way he's acting is just comprehension. I mean, forget about immature.
It's like there's a chemical and balance or something like that.
He's over the top. As Steve kerrwe said he would
never talk to anybody in the world like he does
two officials.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
When you're coaching, if you know, I know, you gotta
yell stuff Vjay and you got to get out officials.
That's part of the game. I don't know how far
you take it. You curse at them? Do you call
them names I can't repeat on the air? Do you
call them slangs that I can't repeat on the air.
I don't know how far everybody takes it, but Danny
Hurley just took it about as far as you could

(05:55):
take it. And now why he's like public getting me
number one. I hope he loses every game. Somebody's got
to sit them down in his inner circle and say
you gotta stop.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yeah, not only that he has, he has when you're
challenging fans and you're telling fans come on down, when
you got four state troopers around.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
You, Oh yeah, you're so tough. You're the guy that
you're so good.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
You're the guy in high school that gets loud and
gets brody and wants to fight once the teachers.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Show up to break up the argument.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
You're that guy. And I'll read the tweet because I
just looked it up. I'll read the tweet. It's the
video of him going off. I think this is the
Colorado game. Twenty seconds left, they're up to they're in,
they're upper point. This is the Memphis games, the Memphis game.
He did it too, but they're up a point, like
they're not even down. They're up a point in this game.
And I tweeted, this is what arrogance, no self control,
fake tough guy, entitlement, manchild needs a hug, got no

(06:44):
girls when he was a younger, punk lack of self awareness,
privileged race looks like most everrated back to back chips
in college football college basketball history and acts like he's
Dean Smith hashtag grow up right.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
That was the tweet.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
I mean that it was a great tweet out there,
and he doesn't have to act like that. You are
coming off back to back championships, you figure ease up
a little bit. I don't know. There's a lot of
coaches that feel like they have to go ahead and
intimidate the officials. I gotta do it for the next call,
and I got to do it for the next call.
And I've seen Coach K and his demeanor and gosh,

(07:17):
look at some of these football coaches out there. VJ coach,
I think it's gotten way out of here.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Coach K was just as bad.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
If you remember, he got investigated by the NC double
at one point. Of course, they swept that under the
rug because he was the good old middle American image,
you know, good old boys club college basketball coach for
so long. But you remember there were there were officials
that were saying they didn't want to go coach games
there because they didn't feel like they can do their
job because they were being intimidated. And there was one
official that was on record with his investigation with the

(07:44):
NC double A that said that he was told by
coach K you'll never coach in the ACC again. I
referend ACC again. I can make that. I can make
that happen. So when you start doing stuff like that,
I lose respect for you because now you're manipulating the game.
I don't like cheaters. I don't like manipulators. I don't
like people that manipulate the game like cheat. That's what

(08:04):
your coaches are trying to do. Right, You're no, you
tried to manipulate for the next call. No, you're no.
You're campaigning to get equal calls for your guys, not
trying to intimidate refs so that they don't call things
and that for Sorry, let me.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Ask you this.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
You're a big sports guy, you're a big college basketball fan.
So many years, did you think anybody can go win
the Duke?

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Did I think somebody?

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Did you think anybody can go win a game at Duke?

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Well?

Speaker 2 (08:27):
It was tough to do it, There was no doubt
about it. Why why they had such a great home
home court advantage? Why the fans, The fans are on
top of the court there, what else? What the refs
give them all the call?

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Then, so just say it. You're not gonna get no
calls at Duke. That was that was, there was twenty five.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Years of that.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I'm a tar Hill guy. Okay, so I lived it.
I lived in the ACC. My nephew played at Carolina.
I've been in I've been in that that that that
are in Camery on on their senior night. I've watched
how those officials like have to kind of ignore even
looking but doesn't.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Don't the tar Heels get the calls when they.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Play at home and not like Duke. Nobody gets calls
like Duke at home. Nobody stop from like eighty eight
to like twenty ten.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Come on, bro, you're you're actually making the case for
Danny Hurley. Then say then that's why he should get
on there.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
No, no, no, no, it's how he does it.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
He's challenging guy, Like, come on, dude, you look like
a come on, It's like it's almost like bully. It's
almost like you're right about that, and I don't like bullies,
right right, it's bully behavior.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
You know.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Let me ask you, is can a ref really do
anything to him? Can a ref fight him? Can a
ref do anything? You're like, you like I'm watching a
video right now. He's got a coach that's gotta hug
him and pull him back. He's got his fist balled up.
Grow up, dude, Like grow up, you would have never
lasted in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
And besides, he cost his team the game. They were
either tied. They were tied in the Memphis game absolutely
when he got a two shot technical and it was
like thirty seconds I don't even remember off to the
top of my head right now, and he was like,
they like getting go ahead in the Colorado game. It's
just it's too I don't know what he's got, what he's.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
So mad about, Arnie. Winning's not good for everybody. You've
been around pro athletes. I'm around pro athletes and former
athletes all the time. What do you always hear about
teams that win championships. Some guys come back more hungry.
Some guys come back ready to win and do it
again and work harder. And some guys what they think
they've made it. They come back. They didn't been in

(10:22):
some videos, they was in a movie. They got some
new jewelry, and they're the same guy. They haven't improved,
they haven't brought none to the game, and then some
people win, and then they think that the arrogance goes up,
the egle goes up. They think they're untouchable, they think
they have empowered, they have this entitlement.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Look at I say this about lebron Ja.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
The worst thing that ever happened to his career was
the man got a championship in the Miami. That was
the worst thing that ever happened the sports taw business
is that he finally won the ring. Because the entitlement
and the privilege and the arrogance and the egle, it
all starts to grow, and then you start to see
things where you're like, Bro, Relax, we're saying the same
thing with that. The worst thing was for him to
win back to back. Bro, that was the worst thing
for this man. Look at him.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
I'm watching a video still, please, man, he's a man child.
Grow up.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Bro. All right, you want to get in at Big
Vanilla Funny, I'm in stinking Genius one. I'll get to
some tweets a little bit later on VJ is a big, big,
big Michigan fans, right, obviously I like college football. I'm
an Arizona fan. I'm making significant for this conversation.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
I want to be buried at the Big House about that.
Have your ashes spread. Spread my ashes over the end
zone where Desmond Howard and Charles Woods has scored those
part return touchdowns trophy seasons against Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Spread my ashes there Green Bay with.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
The field goal, by the way, thirty eleven over Miami.
I had an argument with Plank and your co host
Martin Weiss about this yesterday. The days are all boiling
in the one now about college rivalries and VJ. You're
probably a little bit older to probably recognize more of this,
and I tried to explain to them the Michigan Ohio

(12:03):
State rivalry what it meant twenty twenty five years ago,
the gay Alabama Auburns, the USC Notre Dame. If this
was twenty five years ago, you and I would have
talked to Michigan Ohio State for at least the first
two hours, if not the whole four hours. That's what
the yes, I understand if some team had two losses

(12:25):
or three, but these rivalries USC Notre Dame, even Hartman
said ucla USC would have been a four hour extravaganza.
We don't do that anymore. The extent of the new conferences,
the twelve team playoff, many other reasons why these rivalries

(12:46):
no longer significant like they used to be twenty five
years ago.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
No, I disagree. I disagree.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
I think I think it's hyperbolic for people to say, Oh,
it doesn't matter anymore, doesn't this anymore?

Speaker 4 (12:56):
It doesn't.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
No, it does, And it's got nothing to do with
the twelve team playoff rank thing like that. It's just
that it's so much going on. You're right, we would
have led with it today, But since winning, there have
been three playoffs, three NFL games on Thanksgiving, right, so
we have to lead with that. We have to leave
with what's on right now. What's going on right now.
Radio is different than it was. Let's go back thirty years.

(13:17):
I'm forty seven, so I can go back thirty I
can go back forty years and talk about Michigan Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
It's radio is different now.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
And this game also used to be before Thanksgiving. They've
moved the seasons back and they've added games from which
again regular season games teams play twelve.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Now there were ten regular season games. When I was
a kid.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
College football season started before Labor Day. Now we have
week zero, which my partner hates. Right, we have week
zero and then we have week one, and college football
used to start like right at Labor Day weekend, and
it was done the week before Thanksgiving. There were no
there were no there were no rankings and no no
meetings and no shows. It was the polls and there

(13:59):
was number one. Number two was going to play for
the national Championship game in either the Orange Sugar Rolls
or Festa, and that was it, and then all the
other bulls.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
That was it. It's so much more now.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
I don't blame it on the conference, the re alignments
or none of that stuff.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
This is just it's so like today. How many college
basketball games?

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Since when was college Back when you and I were kids,
was college basketball on Thanksgiving Day?

Speaker 2 (14:19):
No?

Speaker 4 (14:20):
It was not like this.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
No, No, there were no college basketball games being played
on Thanksgiving Day twenty years ago, twenty five, thirty years ago. Today,
I walk into the studio, I'm like, wow, Illinois and
such and such in this game, and everybody's there. There's
ten college basketball games on ten attend So that's why
it doesn't lead as it should. But I guarantee you tomorrow,

(14:41):
which proves my point that it's not as big as
it was twenty five thirty years ago.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
How we used to build it up and talk about
it and enjoyed it so much more. It was more
of you know, it just consumed US VJ. It was
that's all we could think about, was the Michigan Ohio
State game, or the Augur and I Abavin game or
games like that. US you don't yourday.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
I once again, I still I still disagree because there's
so there's too much. There's so much going on, it's
hard to just try to zero. How about this, the
last two years leading into this game, you and I
did Thanksgiving Night together. The last two years going into
this game, there were number one and number two. It
did not lead our shows.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
I don't ever remember.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
I haven't I have an exemplar. I have a wonderful memory.
The last two years you and I did this night,
this timeframe, this block, this network, everything. They were number
one and number two going into that game. It didn't know.
It did not lead our show because there was three
NFL games on, and there was three hundred and seventy

(15:41):
five college basketball games on and the game is still
two days away. It's games, not tomorrow. Today's Thursday games,
not yet tomorrow. We can lead with it if you want.
You and I are here seven to eleven, and we can.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Do it tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
But right now we have to do There's an NFL
live game on right now.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
No one's talking college football right now.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Well, I mean, look, it is a big week in
the college football. Obviously, that is one of the big games.
There's a whole slew of them that we'll get through
a little bit later on take We'll get the top
twenty five games out there. Monster game Ohio State, though
Michigan is a three touchdown underdog. For some reason, I
think it could be close. I just don't see the upset.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Vj I is coming.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
I don't think your wolver Reach can pull it off.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
He's coming.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Ohio State is so overrated this year. Wow Howard mark
my words. Will Howard put this down because of the
Areana game, and Old Howard is going to throw the
game away. I've been saying it all I've been waiting
for this game. I said this back in August. Ohio
State will go as Will Howard goes. But there's a

(16:43):
moment he's going to throw a game away. And it
just hasn't really he threw. He threw the organ game away.
He's already done it. He's gonna throw this game. Bay,
who's the pressure on? All the pressures on Ohio State
and Ryan Day and Chip and Will Howard in your
twenty one million alleged league.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
We have to keep saying allegedly your.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Twenty one million dollar nil roster that you have there,
there's no pressure on Michigan. We just recruited in flight
Bryce Underwood, which I predicted two weeks we would do.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
We have the number one recruit coming in next year
to play quarterback.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Shot.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Fine, guess what, that banner still shines. That banner still
hangs in the in ann arbor, in the big house.
That ring still shines. We went fifteen and oh Ohio
State can't do that because they already have one.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Luck.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
All the pressure is on Ohio State if they do
not win this.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
If Michigan loses, what happens to us? Nothing?

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Nothing, Nothing happens to Michigan. We going to the offseason.
Some people will talk, some smacket talk, some trash. Does
it still say twenty twenty three national championships?

Speaker 4 (17:46):
The national champ at fifteen?

Speaker 3 (17:47):
And oh do we still send Nick Saban's acid to
retirement by beating Alabama and Jalen Milrow. Do we still
shut down all those so called great receivers at Washington
and shut down.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Macle Pennocks in the Nationals as all that happened. That's all, fat.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
The fact of the matter is there's no pressure on
Michigan on Saturday. It is all and the game is
in the horseshoe. Man, come on, come on, man. They
could play as loose as they played all year long.
I'd pull out every trick, playing the book I got,
and we go get beat about thirty.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
So what there's a postsuit, right because.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
You just said we're three touchdown underdogs, so we gonna
get about thirty.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
So what?

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Why don't you send your predictions on Twitter to Big
Vanilla Funny Please, I'm misticking genius one, and let's see
it from some of the Ohio State fans that don't
think it is going to be an upset. We'll get
to that. By the way, you know, tomorrow is Black Friday,
so I'm getting some holidays shopping done this weekend. Pack

(18:44):

I like that. Finally, what in the hell? What who
was waiting for that?

Speaker 1 (19:53):
You know?

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Like this has been you know, like a little little riverband.
What's wrong?

Speaker 4 (19:57):
VJ L is this LRB?

Speaker 3 (19:59):
No?

Speaker 4 (20:01):
This is yacht rock? Oh this is horrible, horrible.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
It's like a Hall of Fame.

Speaker 5 (20:08):
Man.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
It's not like someone I did. Sound like someone died.

Speaker 6 (20:12):
It's a river band, you repeating their name does not
like change?

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Is VJ? Stewey Dan?

Speaker 1 (20:21):
No?

Speaker 4 (20:21):
I know, I don't. I don't care this.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
All I see right now is a guy sitting next
to a lake right now, sad because his girlfriend broke
up with m.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
VJ. Is what happens?

Speaker 5 (20:33):
Ok So hold on quick background on this. Yes, I
set that.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
So.

Speaker 5 (20:39):
Mary asked me for a song, and I gave her
a song and her.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
Patrick were like, we don't want to ask Alreadie.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
So I.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
Text you. I'm I text you, I said, you know,
but Mary and Patrick don't know what I text. I
text Arnie.

Speaker 6 (21:01):
Yo.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
They want you to pick.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
A song badly because they said they love your choice that.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
You know. What's so funny is I'm looking on Twitter.
I should read some of the tweets. We'll get a
lot of tweets.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
I can't said why would you like? Because I knew
I was going Hi, all right? Can you text me
right back? Okay? That was the fastest sent, by the way.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Oreo said, Yeah, bro, the Stewie's Steweie dance song that
you played last night, that was fine. They lied, they lied.
I don't understand how you don't like songs like.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
This, because I told you we don't own yachts, so
why would we play yacht rock on Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 4 (21:39):
Does that even?

Speaker 6 (21:40):
And I have never played yacht rock in the eight
nine months that I've been waving.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Should we take requests from the listeners, then maybe they
could do better?

Speaker 3 (21:48):
They do, They do, some of them buying a girl
both with baill bottles and flowered shirts and really high.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Off shrooms in the sixties. Right now, it is so said,
this is why you all always no, don't ask his
song choices.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
And I spelled love with like five os.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
You're saying your song choices.

Speaker 7 (22:13):
He text me right back, okay, and then I did not,
not like one half of a second later, I got
the text of the whole song over there.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
He texted you back fast, and I literally everybody's laughing
at you.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Guys say these girl song.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
These are songs.

Speaker 6 (22:32):
I literally yell at you every single time I ask you, Hey,
don't people.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
I don't just play Teddy Swims. You didn't like Teddy Swim.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Because I swim point Teddy Swims.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
The only person who knew Teddy the person that was
wrestler from the seventies.

Speaker 6 (22:48):
Literally, no, and he's like he's like really built and big.
The only person who knew was Bree Bree love you.
But that's the only person who knew who Teddy Swims
was the game.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
People watch this video two thirty.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Two pounds, ladies and gentleman Teddy Swum.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Sounds like that.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Sounds like the jobb or guy that's saying the ring already.
He doesn't have intro music. He's already in the ring
and he's waiting for macho man to come to the ring.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
I'll tell you that, you guys don't have any taste
of music. I'm even trying to get younger with Teddy Swims,
and you know he was not younger. They had no younger.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
I needed that lab. Yeah, I wanted to set all
three you guys.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
All right real quick, VJ. I do want to tell you, though,
a big news today in college football Memphis b tu
Wayane thirty four to twenty four. That kind of shakes
things up, which means now, and we were talking about
this a little bit last night, the Big Twelve should
get in their divisional champ. There was a chance that
the Big Twelve was not going to get in their

(23:51):
conference champion into the twelve team playoffs.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
That's not that can't happen. They have to let the conference.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
No, No, I thought the same thing. Chris Plank explained
it to me all last night. We got a bunch
of tweets on it. There was a legitimate chance that
they were not gonna go ahead. You have to be
it's four, and you have to be a higher ranked
than the than Tulayne was. Now Tulaine dropped, so it's

(24:20):
not gonna be a problem.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
It was happening.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Okay, you guys, can you guys can tell me all
that crap you wanted to.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Okay, I'm telling you this. There was no shot, zero shot.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
I'm telling you guys, there was zero shot that the
Big twelve champion team was not getting an into the.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
College football playoff. I don't want to hear.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Would have won the last two games, it would have happened.
But that that's that didn't happen.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
No, the Big Championship is getting the Big Twelve.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
They did not create this, So what do you want
another Florida state issue from last year?

Speaker 2 (24:48):
No, no, no, But I and I said the same thing.
I couldn't believe it, and Chris explained it to me
and everybody was getting in on it. And it was true,
it was and it was a pretty decent chance. But
Memphis upset them, give them a big Actually, that was
a you among the subset over Tulayne. I did not
see that coming. Thirty four to twenty four. Actually Touleyna

(25:09):
had to get two fourth quarter of touchdowns just to even,
you know, try to get back in this thing.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
Yeah, I saw, but I'm not riding with that. I'm
not riding with that, Arnie.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
They were, they were getting and I get listen, I
get for great convo and for if this and if that,
and if this and if that, if was an eighth
we'd all be high.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
I get all of that.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
But at the end of the day, I'm telling you all,
there was no way when a twelve the twelve team
playoff was supposed to eliminate what happened last year, and that.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
Was the point.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
Didn't They didn't do that. They'll have to change it.
They didn't do it. They didn't do it. Yeah, that's
why it's it's not the Big five, it's the Big four.
That's what it is. And it was more than just
if if and if it was a legitimate chance and
it was a big thing everybody was talking about, and
they actually got saved. It would have been a big,
big problem had they not gotten in.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
So I'm glad they got it. It would have happened.
I think.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
I think even even if even if today's game would
have went the opposite way, I still true then all
they had.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Then all Tulayne next was the A, the conference champions.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
What you're playing around with right now? Because I see,
I see what they're trying to do with Alabama. I
don't like it. I see what they're trying to do
with Alabama. They got Alabama right outside. Alabama just got
beat by unranked team, like I'm telling and it gave
him their third loss.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Let's get to Alabama.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I want to get to that.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
I want to make sure we get We'll finish up
the game here with Miami Green Bay. We'll get to
all that coming up next, Martin weistows, standy bye. Let's
see what's trending. Get caught up with all the scores
out there. What's shake it out there, Martin.

Speaker 7 (26:37):
Right now, the Miami Dolphins have the ball down thirty
to seventeen with thirty one seconds left in the fourth quarter,
but ultimately looks like a game that the Packers are
going to go ahead and win. Jordan Love twenty one
for twenty eight, two seventy four through the air, two
touchdown passes, Josh Jacob a touchdown rushing. Green Bay had
one hundred and fourteen yards on the ground, but the
high man was only Jacob's with forty three yards. That's

(27:01):
more than the Dolphins had entirely rushing. They only had
thirty nine yards on the day to a tongue of
by Lowa thirty six for forty five, three fifty seven
and two touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
Played pretty well.

Speaker 7 (27:11):
Despite now dropping to eight and I mean sorry, oh
to eight in games in which the weather is under
forty five degrees. I'm sure that the two Dolphins fans
hosting this show will have more to discuss about that topic.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
In just the moment.

Speaker 7 (27:25):
The Cowboys beat the Giants twenty seven to twenty. Rico
Daldo had one hundred and twelve yards rushing and a touchdown.
Giants first team in the NFL to be eliminated from
playoff contention. As I watched Matt Lafloor and Mike McDaniels
hug at the hug in midfield. That game's now overfinal
score thirty to seventeen. Lions beat the Bears twenty three
to twenty. They trailed the Bears did sixteen and nothing

(27:46):
in the first half. Kayleb Williams had three touchdown passes.
In the second half. In a comeback attempt, Matt Eberflus
neglected the call time out. They had one in their
pocket that were thirty seconds left. Clock ticked all the
way down to six. Kayleb Williams do an in complete
pass on the last play of the game. Afterwards, Matt
Eberfu said he was happy with the way things worked out,
paraphrasing there, but yeah, he'll be home for Christmas. Two

(28:09):
Lane lost its first game in conference play thirty four
to twenty four to Memphis.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Arnie.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
You're right.

Speaker 7 (28:14):
That eliminated essentially two Lane from the college football Playoff.
Had they won this game, they would have hosted the
AAC Championship and because of all the big twelve losses
they would have been had they had won the championship
game would have been the fourth highest ranked conference championship winner,
meaning they would have been in the College Football Playoff.

(28:35):
Now it is a much more Murkier for the Green Wave.
If they had just won out, they would have punched
their ticket quarterfinals for the Battle for Atlantis.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Arni plug your ears.

Speaker 7 (28:45):
Oklahoma beat Arizona eighty two to seventy seven.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
That was a game.

Speaker 7 (28:49):
Heavily discussed on Foxville Tradio last night. Chris Plank victorious.
Louis Will beat West Virginia seventy nine to seventy in overtime.
Louisville and Oklahoma playing the championship game tomorrow in the
Constellation bracket. Third rint Gonzaga be fourteenth Indiana eighty nine
to seventy three.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
Arnie and VJ back to you guys.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
All right, thank you very much. Mark of course, live
at the tirereck dot Com studios. He's VJ Husky, Arnie
Spanier in for the guys tonight. Jason Smith and his
best friend Mike Harmon here on Fox Sports Radio. By
the way, tomorrow will also be here VJ and myself.
So we got to finish out the week. You were
talking about Alabama. You don't like what they're doing to
Alabama and what I'll throw in Indiana too, because everybody

(29:31):
says Indiana should be you know, easily in. I'm not
seeing that.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
They should be easily in. They have one loss. How
are they not easily in?

Speaker 2 (29:39):
I think they should be in. I think there's a
I don't know, a swell of support. Maybe he's a
bad choice of words. I think people are trying to
figure out how to get them out so they can
get a team, Mike, Alabama. But let me hear what
you have to say about Alabama.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
That's the but I agree with you.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
But that's the BS I'm talking about because we've all
we all sat here, everyone that's done radio, done TV,
on my ears to the ground, on football. No one
agreed that a three loss team should get into the playoff.
No one agreed to that. We all thought, hey, man,
if you got three losses, you can't get because with
three losses, would you have got to.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
A sixteen playoff?

Speaker 2 (30:13):
No?

Speaker 4 (30:13):
Would you got to the fourteen playoff?

Speaker 1 (30:15):
No?

Speaker 4 (30:15):
Would you got to the eight team playoff?

Speaker 2 (30:17):
No?

Speaker 3 (30:17):
But a twelve team playoff? And it's like, oh yeah,
let's get a three a three lost team in. And
if you look at two of Alabama's losses, two of
their losses against unraked teams, and they're trying to keep
them hovering on the outside to sneak them in. It's
far past just Nick Saban, Now this is like an
SEC thing. This is what I'm kind of looking at.

(30:39):
I'm looking at, like, hold on, how is Alabama sitting
at thirteen fourteen?

Speaker 4 (30:42):
Dude?

Speaker 3 (30:42):
They have two losses to two unraked teams. They should
be ranked out of the top twenty.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
How is how is? How are we doing this?

Speaker 3 (30:49):
And now there's a question whether Indiana should be in there.
We played the sound bite from their coach last week
when he was asked that He's like, I mean, yeah,
there's no doubt in my mind's there should be.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
But when we have one loss, what about strength of schedule?
Does that have to shouldn't have the factor in anything?

Speaker 1 (31:07):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (31:07):
Okay, So Alabama played Mercer two weeks ago. Georgia played
UMass at home last I don't get them, but I.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Don't give them credit for playing Mercer.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
But if you're going to go to strength as schedule,
then you cannot tell then Alabama damn sure can't get it.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
No, but I'm not gonna play you know, base their
whole thing on the game against Mercer when you're playing
an SEC schedule.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
Now, oh, SEC schedule. I'm so tired of hearing that
that's a decade old. That's not right anymore. There's two
How many good teams are in the SEC this year?

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Now?

Speaker 4 (31:34):
Now?

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Then?

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Now the conference has expanded? Okay, so Texas is now
in the SEC. Right so people can say, well, there's okay, Texas, Georgia, Georgia, Tennessee. Really,
Tennessee's not their top ten teams. I know they are
top ten teen. I said how many good teams are
in the SEC? I didn't ask where they were ranked.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Okay, Tennessee is a good team.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Okay, So then there's your three, there's your there's your three.
How many good teams are in the Big Ten?

Speaker 2 (31:58):
Well, if you consider out like we're making the case
for the before, Big ten's the best conference in footing.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
There you oh say, there you go.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
So there's not gonna be a three lost Big Ten
team get in? Is there gonna be a three lost
Big Ten team get in?

Speaker 2 (32:09):
There will be a three lost Big Ten team get
in because it's so top heavy with Penn State, Oregon,
Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
And Penn State's Penn stint.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
So there's four teams with zero or one loss that's
why a team with three losses. Okay, so not gonna
climb up and you can't take a fifteen, no problem.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
So let's go through it real quick. So ten the
Big ten. Let's say four, right, and we just named
the four team the SEC. Who gets it from the SEC?
If Arnie Plank excuse me not playing, I'm sorry. If
Arnie Spaniard is doing the if you have, if you
have the last A, so they call your house and say, Arnie,
we're giving you the last A. So give us your
three SEC. Give give us your SEC teams that you

(32:45):
think deserve to be in the College Football Playoff. You
gotta say Tennessee correct right, Georgia correct right? Texas yes,
and Texas okay. So now that's seven, so that's more
than half.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
No, Tre Dame is eight.

Speaker 4 (32:56):
Okay, there we go back. That's fine.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
I don't have a problem not to Dame getting in there.
So now we're eight. Okay, So whoever wins the Big twelve?

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Did you put it in the ad in there?

Speaker 4 (33:05):
Yes, because we got four from the Big ten.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
The Big twelve now is back on the table, so
that's number nine.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Okay, So that's nine. So that's nine teams right there?
Who else? Who? Who else? Do you think?

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Well?

Speaker 4 (33:16):
The AA seed now.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
That they're not gonna send somebody, so you'll have to
get in the conference like Boise So that's that's.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
S SMU nine, I mean sing SMU ten right right,
SMU ten, Boise State eleven. Right there you go. So
we're down the one team left? Yes, there, so we're
down to one team left. Clemson. Could Clemson be it?
Clemsons only had two Arizona State.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Yeah, but Big twelve depend thing that if they played
in the conference championship or they lose along the way.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
That's fine, that's fine.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
You have you have, You still have Arizona State, you
still have iowas night.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
As a matter of fact, that's a big game against Arizona.
A lot of people are rooting for Arizona to upset
Arizona State. So Colorado could go to the Big TEA exactly.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
And then you have BYU. Those are all teams with
two or less losses. So we're down. So we're up
to fifteen teams. We have fifteen teams with two or
less losses. How in the hell can you skip those
teams and put a three loss team in that's lost
to two unraked teams.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Well, we're not giving team names. Who's better a team
with two losses with a strength of schedule of one
hundred or a team with three losses with a strength
of schedule of like five.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
I know, first of all, strength to schedule is in
my opinion, it's a personal narrative. It's a personal narrative.
Here's Alabama schedule, Western Kentucky, University of South Florida. They
win them, they beat at Wisconsin. The Nebraska just slacked
them last weekend. They beat Georgia, they lost at Vanderbilt,
giving up forty. They beat South Carolina, who they lost

(34:51):
to Tennessee. They beat Missouri who they beat LSU, and
we know what's happening with LSU. They beat Mercer and
then they got schluck and Norman putting up three points
against Oklahoma.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
That is not a college football playoff team. I'm sorry, right,
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
I don't think they'll get in. But somehow I feel
like if Nick Saban was that stilitaire, maybe it's still
maybe it'd be a little bit of a different story.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
But they're trying. My point I'm making is with them
sitting at thirteen. They're trying to find a way to
sneak Alabama in. And I warned people of this when
they made the playoff. I like the playoff. I'm not
knocking the playoff. Just be real and make it me
be just be real about it. I don't mind the playoff.
I don't mind twelve teams. But this was supposed to

(35:35):
move us out of Look what happened last year. Florida
State got knocked out simply because we didn't know where
their quarterback was gonna be. I tell all they did
was went undefeated and won their conference.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
When we get back, let's take a good the games
coming up for Saturday. We'll do that next VJ and
Ardi right here on Fox Sports or Radio.

Love this song, real music. I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
My eight track on the way real.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Music, all right, So all you just take a while.
Guess we know you don't know who it is, but
you might get it right.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
Who is this? Oh it's a rapper? Oh god?

Speaker 2 (36:26):
No? You sure?

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (36:31):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you want to look it up.
I'm pretty sure.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
I actually can remember where I was when this song
debuted on the radio.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Back in DC.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
When I was in DC, this was a summer hit
and this actually debuted on the fourth of July.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
I'm a run DMC guy, but oh I love.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Me some Run DMC. I mean I grew up on
Run DMC. Now, wow, come on, man.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
The first, the first like hip hop rap movie I
ever saw in my life in the movie theater was
Crush Groove. And I remember going with my Pop Warner
football teammates Jason and Rashawn. The three of us got
dropped off at the mall by Rashawn's mom and we
went and we went to the theater and we lied.

(37:16):
We say we were going to go see Back to
the Future. And we had a sixteen year old friend
in the neighborhood by us tickets because the movie is
rated R to go see Crush Groove with all the
older kids. And we went and saw Crush Groove and
that was the introduction of King of Rock, tougher than
lev Runs House like.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
That started it for me, man.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
That started ironing the shoelaces Back in the day, we
used to iron our shoelaces to make them thick, to
make them fatter, to put them in your Adidas. Those
are first pair sneakers. I never laced stuff were my
Oh yeah, well I mean you weren't cool.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Yeah, I wasn't cool. I okay, before we run out
of topics, we're coming up at the top of the hour.
I brought up Michigan Ohio State to you, Ohio State
nineteen and a half point favorite. You make it sound
like maybe Michigan pull off the upset that you you get, like,
I don't know, eight to one odds. If you want
to take Michigan straight up, you think it will be
a close game. With the possible upset, You're going with
Michigan in this one.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Absolutely, it's gonna be a close game. It's the game
rivalry games. Man, Look what happened with the Cowboys and
the Commanders last week? Division games? Robbery games in November.
Throw the records out, all the pressures on Ohio State.
There no one can refute that. There's no one that
knows college football. They can refute this, Arnie, who's off
if they lose this game? Arnie, what's gonna happen to

(38:31):
They're gonna burn that place to the ground.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Yeah, well, they'll be screaming for jobs and all that money.

Speaker 4 (38:38):
They might not make it back to his office. Are
you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (38:42):
All right? What about USC? Notre Da have any interest there?
Don't you dave that point? Favorite on the road in
Los Angeles at the Coliseum. Uh, but the Irish is
seven to that point favorite.

Speaker 4 (38:52):
Gimme, gimme, gimme Notre Dame. I love the running game,
I love the defense. I love what they've been doing there.
They're having there.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
They're quietly of having one of the better years in
college football. No one's talking about it.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Well, the loss to NIU is what sticks out for me,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (39:06):
That's one Yeah. Have they been since?

Speaker 2 (39:09):
They've been fantastic? Okay, there's no doubt. Okay, I'm ondering
if USC could pull off the upset. No, if they
have enough to only seven and a half points, not
that unheard of?

Speaker 3 (39:17):
No, No, but they can't. They don't play well against
renning teams. Notre Dame can run the ball, and they're
more physical in the trenches.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
All right, two hours are in the books. Were at
halftime it just flew on by. All right, let's go
ahead and get caught up. We'll come back. We'll get
to the Power Hour, reset everything, what happened in the
NFL today, We'll get to that. We'll take a look
at Week thirteen games, who needs to win to save
their season. All that's coming up next. VJ Husky Ardy
