Speaker 3 (00:25):
He's VJ Husky.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
I'm Arnie Spanier in for the guys tonight, Jason Smith
and his best friend Mike Harmon right here on Fox
Sports Radio. Dolphins had a chance to get back in
this thing. It's you know, it's tough being a Dolphin fan.
It really does suck sometimes. I gotta tell you it's
tough being a Dolphin fan.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
VJ.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
They could have gotten back in this game. Green Bay
takes over on downs in their own territory.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Patrick, when I were just talking, we're watching the game,
We're talking back and forth over to mic from room
to room, and I said, even if they scored right here,
I kicked the extra point, there's still enough time in
this game. You're gonna get the ball back to more times.
You don't have to worry about one possession. But on
fourth down, I said, I would have still taken the
field goal because that makes it fourteen to twenty seven.
It's still a two possession game, and you don't need
(01:10):
another two point conversion. Two touchdowns wins the game, you
win by one. That's how I would have never went
for it right there, because it would have gone for it. Yeah. No,
it wasn't the one yard line. That's the problem. One
and the half. Yeah, what doesn't matter, man, you haven't
been able to run the football. Go look at the
Russian stats so they know you're throwing it to play
before that was the money played. He held the fake
(01:32):
a little too long and tried to carry it out.
That's old Patrick. We had a quarterback, our quarterback this year.
There were times I would tell him, hey, man, bump
the fake. If you know they're coming. Sometimes you gotta
just stick the ball in your pull out quick and
make the throw. Don't try to you know, don't try
to carry out the fake. And he tried to carry
out the faking and bootlegging. By that time, the defensive
back was up on John Nu and next thing you know,
(01:54):
he bounced the ball down, even though I thought he
got there way early. No flag there also too. No
lay hit on Rashaan very interesting and of course also
he steps on to his helmet after that too. So
I guess every quarterback in the league that gets hit,
you know, and I don't believe that that's true football
roughing the passer. But the way they've been calling it,
as I always say, I'm a football player, I played
the game, and I think the game is offter today.
(02:16):
But if you're gonna call it a certain way, just
call it that way across the board. Don't call it
certain ways for certain players. If you're gonna call players
getting buck, call like quarterbacks getting a shoulder or form
shiver and they fall to the ground, and you're calling
that roughing the passer like they do for Pat Mahomes
all the time, all the time, all the time, all
the time. But you're not gonna call a guy taking
(02:39):
a step and then lunging and leaping and elbowing to
it in the top of his back and snapping his
neck like that, that's not roughing the passers. Okay, cool?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
The problem I have if you know you're gonna go
for it on fourth down, you gotta run the ball
on third.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
They try to run it on they try to run
it on second what it looked like, right, and lost
the yard. They can't run the football. You know, maybe
I would have given it to I don't know.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
I just know if you're gonna go for it on fourth,
you gotta run one more time on third and see
if you can go ahead and create a hole out there.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Look, I would have gone all so I have no
problem with that happening, But unfortunately it just did not
work out. Dolphins just shooting themselves in the foot down sixteen. Well,
see if there's gonna be some miracle here real quick
on he just like I said, right, So John new
Smith got hit early, right, John Smith got hit early.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Now they turn around and throw a flag on us
for a light, a light you know, like ribcage grab
on the receiver like it's it's not even bro, it's
not even across the board. That's why games like this
don't bother me, because when you're on the road in
the NFL, the officiating could be lopsided, the luck is
gonna be lopside. I think it's hard to win on
(03:46):
the road in the NFL. It's just really hard to
do it. You I almost have to play, you know,
air free football or just be that much better than
your opponent.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
So do you think the officiating is that bad overall
across the board.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
In the league. Yeah, I do, And because once again,
they don't call it evenly across the board. If one
quarterback gets shoved to the ground and it's rough in
the passer, then you have to call it for everybody.
You can't just call it for certain guys or when
you fall on a guy, you know, and your body
weight gets on him and stuff like that. Like, you
(04:19):
can't just call it when you want to. You have
to be consistent with it and call it throughout, you know, everything.
And as we see Josh Jacobs catch a short pass
and then take it what fifty something the yards down
the field, and that's the defense just now just starting
to wear down. Seven is some change left in the
fourth quarter twenty seven to eleven. That also to on
that last drive, it changes a lot. Man, if that
(04:40):
scores twenty. If that scores twenty instead of twenty seven,
that brings us back to the drop punt that starts
the game.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
That's where it starts. Yeah, right, that's the whole thing
up there, that's the whole tone, you know, you were
talking about officiating. Just on the little side note because
I saw something on your Twitter that you put out
this like I discussed it last night filling in with
Chris Plank about Danny Hurley and what's going on with him. Yes,
I mean okay, first of all the three games that
(05:06):
Yukon lost, the officiating was one sided.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
I will give you that.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
But the way he's acting is just comprehension. I mean,
forget about immature. It's like there's a chemical and balance
or something like that. He's over the top. As Steve
kerrwe said he would never talk to anybody in the
world like he does two officials. I don't know when
you're coaching, if you know, I know, you gotta yell
(05:34):
stuff Vjay and you got to get out officials. That's
part of the game. I don't know how far you
take it. You curse at them? Do you call them
names I can't repeat on the air? Do you call
them slangs that I can't repeat on the air. I
don't know how far everybody takes it, but Danny Hurley
just took it about as far as you could take it.
(05:54):
And now why he's like public gettemy number one I
hope he loses every game. Somebody's got to sit him
down in his inner circle and say you gotta stop.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yeah, not only that he has, he has when you're
challenging fans and you're telling fans come on down, when
you got four state troopers around you. Oh yeah, you're
so tough. You're the guy that you're so good. You're
the guy in high school that gets loud and gets
brody and wants to fight once the teachers show up
to break up the argument. You're that guy. And I'll
(06:23):
read the tweet because I just looked it up. I'll
read the tweet. It's the video of him going off.
I think this is the Colorado game. Twenty seconds left,
they're up to they're in, they're upper point. This the
Memphis game, Memphis, the Memphis game. He did it too,
but they're up a point, like they're not even down.
They're up a point in this game. And I tweeted,
this is what arrogance, no self control, fake tough guy, entitlement,
manchild needs a hug, got no girls when he was
(06:44):
a younger, punk lack of self awareness, privileged race looks
like most everrated back to back chips in college football,
college basketball history and acts like he's Dean Smith hashtag
grow up right? That was the tweet.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
I mean that was that was That was a great
tweet out there. And he doesn't have to act like that.
You are coming off back to back championships. You figured
he's up a little bit.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
There's a lot of coaches that feel like they have
to go ahead and intimidate the officials. I got to
do it for the next call, and I got to
do it for the next call. And I've seen Coach
K and his demeanor, and gosh, look at some of
these football coaches out there. VJ coach, I think it's
gotten way out of here.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Coach K was just as bad. If you remember, he
got investigated by the nc double at one point. Of course,
they swept that under the rug because he was the
good old middle American image, you know, good old boys
club college basketball coach for so long. But you remember
there were there were officials that were saying they didn't
want to go coach games there because they didn't feel
like they can do their job because they were being intimidated.
And there was one official that was on record with
(07:43):
his investigation with NC double A that said that he
was told by coach K you'll never coach in the
ACC again. I repend ACC again. I can make that.
I can make that happen. Wow. So when you start
doing stuff like that, I lose respect for you because
now you're manipulating the game. I don't like cheaters. I
don't like manipulators. I don't like people that manipulate the game.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
That's what your coaches are trying to do. Right, You're no,
you tried to manipulate for the next call.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
No, you're no. You're campaigning to get equal calls for
your guys, not trying to intimidate refs so that they
don't call things and that for Sorry, let me ask
you this. You're a big sports guy, you're a big
college basketball fan. So many years, did you think anybody
can go win the Duke? Did I think somebody? Did
you think anybody can go win a game at Duke?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Well?
Speaker 2 (08:26):
It was tough to do it, There was no doubt
about it. Why why they had such a great home
home court advantage? Why the fans, The fans are on
top of the court there, what else? What the refs
give them all the call?
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Okay? Then so just say it. You're not gonna get
no calls at Duke. That was that was, there was
twenty five years of that. I'm a tar Hill guy, Okay,
so I lived it. I lived in the ACC. My
nephew played at Carolina. I've been in I've been in
that that that that are in Camery on on their
senior night. I've watched how those officials like have to
kind of ignore even look at but doesn't.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Don't tu tar Hill get the calls when they.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Play at home and not like Duke. Nobody gets calls
like Duke at home. Nobody stop from like eighty eight
to like twenty ten. Come on, bro, you're you're.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Actually making the case for Danny Hurley. Then say then
that's why he should get on there.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
No, no, no, no, it's how he does it. He's
challenging guy, Like, come on, dude, you look like a
come on. It's like it's almost like bully.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
It's almost like Lily, you're right about that, and I
don't like bullies, right right, it's bully behavior.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
You know.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Let me ask you, is can a ref really do
anything to him? Can a ref fight him? Can a
ref do anything? You're like, yo, like, I'm watching a
video right now. He's got a coach that's gotta hug
him and pull him back. He's got his fist balled up.
Grow up, dude, Like grow up, you would have never
lasted in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
And besides, he cost his team the game. They were
either tied. They were tied in the Memphis game absolutely
when he got a two shot technical and it was
like thirty seconds I don't even remember off to the
top of my head right now, and he was like,
they like getting go ahead in the Colorado game. It's
just it's too much. I don't know what he's got,
what he's.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
So mad about, Arnie. Winning's not good for everybody. You've
been around pro athletes. I'm around pro athletes and former
athletes all the time. What do you always hear about
teams that win championships. Some guys come back more hungry.
Some guys come back ready to win and do it
again and work harder. And some guys what they think
they've made it. They come back. They didn't been in
(10:22):
some videos, they was in a movie. They got some
new jewelry, and they're the same guy. They haven't improved,
they haven't brought none to the game. And then some
people win, and then they think that the arrogance goes up,
the egle goes up. They think they're untouchable, they think
they have empowered, they have this entitlement. Look at I
say this about lebron Ja. The worst thing that ever
happened to his career was the man got a championship
(10:44):
in the Miami. That was the worst thing that ever
happened the sports taw business is that he finally won
the ring. Because the entitlement and the privilege and the
arrogance and the egle, it all starts to grow, and
then you start to see things where you're like, Bro, relax,
we're seeing the same thing with that. The worst thing
was for him to win back to back. Bro, that
was the worst thing for this man. Look at him.
I'm watching a video stiale. Please, man, he's a man.
Chow grow up.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
All right, you want to get in at big Vanilla funny,
I'm in stinking genius one. I'll get to some tweets
a little bit later on VJ is a big, big,
big Michigan fans, right, obviously, I like college football. I'm
an Arizona fan. I'm making significant for this conversation.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
I want to be buried at the Big House about that.
Have your ashes spread. Spread my ashes over the end
zone where Desmond Howard and Charles Woods has scored those
part return touchdowns trophy seasons against Ohio State. Spread my
ashes there Green Bay with.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
The field goal, by the way, thirty eleven over Miami.
I had an argument with Plank and your co host
Martin Weiss about this yesterday. The days are all boiling
in the one now about college rivalries and VJ. You're
probably a little bit older to probably recognize more of this,
and I tried to explained to them the Michigan Ohio
(12:02):
State rivalry what it meant twenty twenty five years ago,
the Alabama Auburns, the USC Notre Dame. If this was
twenty five years ago, you and I would have talked
to Michigan Ohio State for at least the first two hours,
if not the whole four hours. That's what the yes,
I understand if something had two losses or three, but
(12:26):
these rivalries USC Notre Dame, even Hartman said ucla USC
would have been a four hour extravaganza. We don't do
that anymore. The extent of the new conferences, the twelve team playoff,
many other reasons why these rivalries no longer significant like
(12:47):
they used to be twenty five years ago.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
No, I disagree. I disagree. I think I think it's
hyperbolic for people to say, oh, it doesn't matter anymore,
doesn't this anymore? It doesn't. No, it does, and it's
got nothing to do with the twelve team playoff or
anything like that. It's just that it's so much going on.
You're right, we would have led with it today. But
since winning, there have been three playoffs, three NFL games
on Thanksgiving, right, so we have to lead with that.
(13:09):
We have to leave with what's on right now. What's
going on right now. Radio is different than it was.
Let's go back thirty years. I'm forty seven, so I
can go back thirty I can go back forty years
and talk about Michigan Ohio State. It's radio is different now.
And this game also used to be before Thanksgiving. They've
moved the seasons back and they've added games from which
(13:31):
again regular season games teams play twelve. Now there were
ten regular season games. When I was a kid. College
football season started before Labor Day. Now we have week zero,
which my partner hates. Right, we have week zero and
then we have week one. And college football used to
start like right at Labor Day weekend, and it was
done the week before Thanksgiving. There were no there were
(13:53):
no there were no rankings and no no meetings and
no shows. It was the polls and there was number
one verse number two was going to play for the
national Championship game in either the Orange Sugar Rolls or Festa,
and that was it, and then all the other bulls.
That was it. It's so much more now. I don't
blame it on the conference, the re alignments or none
of that stuff. This is just it's so like today.
How many college basketball games? Since when was college basket?
(14:16):
When you and I were kids, was college basketball on
Thanksgiving Day?
Speaker 2 (14:19):
No?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
It was not like this. No, No, there were no
college basketball games being played on Thanksgiving Day twenty years ago,
twenty five, thirty years ago. Today, I walk into the studio,
I'm like, Wow, Illinois and such and such in this game,
and everybody's dare there's ten college basketball games on ten
attend So that's why it doesn't lead as it should.
But I guarantee you tomorrow, which proves my point that
(14:41):
it's not as big as it was twenty five thirty
years ago.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
How we used to build it up and talk about
it and enjoyed it so much more. It was more
of you know, it just consumed US VJ. It was
that's all we could think about, was the Michigan Ohio
State game, or the Augur and I Abavin game or
games like that.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
US you don't you day? Once again, I I still
disagree because there's so there's too much. There's so much
going on, it's hard to just try to zero. How
about this, the last two years leading into this game,
you and I did Thanksgiving Night together. The last two
years going into this game, there were number one and
number two. It did not lead our shows. I don't
(15:19):
ever remember. I haven't I have an exemplar. I have
a wonderful memory. The last two years you and I
did this night, this timeframe, this block, this network, everything.
They were number one and number two going into that game.
It didn't know. It did not lead our show because
there was three NFL games on, and there was three
(15:39):
hundred and seventy five college basketball games on and the
game is still two days away. It's games, not tomorrow,
today's Thursday games. Not yet tomorrow. We can lead with
it if you want. You and I are here seven
to eleven, and we can do it tomorrow. But right
now we have to do There's an NFL live game
on right now. No one's talking college football right now.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Well, I mean, look, it is a big week in
the college football. Obviously, that is one of the big games.
There's a whole slew of them that we'll get through
a little bit later on take We'll get the top
twenty five games out there. Monster game Ohio State. Though
Michigan is a three touchdown underdog for some reason, I
think it could be close.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
I just don't see the upset. Vj I is coming.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
I don't think your wolver Reach can pull it off.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
He's coming. Ohio State is so overrated this year. Wow
Howard mark my words. Will Howard put this down because
of the Adreana game, and Old Howard is going to
throw the game away. I've been saying it all I've
been waiting for this game. I said this back in August.
Ohio State will go as Will Howard goes. But there's
(16:43):
a moment he's going to throw a game away, and
it just hasn't really he threw. He threw the organ
game away. He's already done it. He's gonna throw this game. Bay,
who's the pressure on? All the pressures on Ohio State
and Ryan Day and Chip Kelly and Will Howard in
your twenty one million alleged league. We have to keep
(17:03):
saying allegedly your twenty one million dollar nil roster that
you have there, there's no pressure on Michigan. We just
recruited in flight Bryce Underwood, which I predicted two weeks
we would do. We have the number one recruit coming
in next year to play quarterback.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Shot.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
Fine, guess what, That banner still shines. That banner still
hangs in the in Ann arbor, in the big house.
That ring still shines. We went fifteen and oh Ohio
State can't do that because they already have one. Luck.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
All the pressure is on Ohio State if they do
not win this.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
If Michigan loses, what happens to us? Nothing? Nothing, Nothing
happens to Michigan. We going to the offseason. Some people
will talk, some smacket talk, some trash. Does it still
say twenty twenty three national championships? The national champ at
fifteen and oh, do we still send Nick Saban's acid
to retirement by beating Alabama and Jalen Milrow? Do we
still shut down all those so called great receivers at
Washington and shut down macle pennocks in the Nationals? As
(17:56):
all that happened, that's all. Fat act of the matter is,
there's no pressure on Michigan on Saturday. It is all
and the game is in the horseshoe. Man, Come on,
come on, man tykend play as loose as they played
all year long. I'd pull out every trick playing the
book I got, and we go get beat about thirty.
So what there's a post suit, right because you just
(18:18):
said we're three touchdown underdogs, so we gonna get about thirty?
Speaker 4 (18:22):
So what?
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Why don't you send your predictions on Twitter to Big
Vanilla Funny Please, I'm misticking genius one, and let's see
it from some of the Ohio State fans that don't
think it is going to be an upset.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
We'll get to that.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
By the way, you know, tomorrow is Black Friday, so
I'm getting some holidays shopping done this weekend. Pick them
some touchdowns, that's right? What touchdowns? Well, Lron Salet Draft
Kings Sports Book. You see, DraftKings has doorbuster profit boosts
and of course bet one promotion on all types of
touchdown bets. Grab some touchdowns with DraftKings Sports Book. They're
(19:00):

the DraftKings Sportsbook act use the code JSS topped in.
That's the code JSS only on DraftKings. The crown is yours.
We'll come back, We'll get into more some college football.
We'll see if this game ends with Miami and Green
(19:21):
Bay all that's coming up next. In for the guys night, VJ. Husky,
Arnie Spanier. Right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (19:31):

the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Oh good song, nice pick there, Mary.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
I like that.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Finally, What in the hell what I was waiting for that?
Speaker 2 (19:53):
You know, like this has been you know, like a
little little riverband.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
What's wrong? VJ L is this lrb Oh? This is
yacht rock?
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (20:04):
This is horrible, horrible.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
It's like a Hall of Fame man like like.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Someone I did sound like someone died. It's a river bed.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
You repeating their name does not like change?
Speaker 3 (20:19):
D is VJ Stewey Dan? No, I know, I don't,
I don't care. This is all I see right now
is a guy sitting next to a lake right now,
sad because his girlfriend broke up with m VJ. Is
what happens? So hold on quick background on this. Yes,
I said that. So Mary asked me for a song,
(20:42):
and I gave her a song, and and her and
Patrick were like, we don't want to ask Alreadie. So
I text you. I text you, I said, you know,
but Mary and Patrick don't know what I I text Arnie. Yo,
(21:02):
they want you to pick a song badly because they
said they love your choice.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
You know what's so funny is I'm looking on Twitter.
I should read some of the tweets. We're geting a
lot of tweets.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
I can't believe he said that. Why would you lie
like one? Because I knew I was going Hi, all right?
Can he text me right back? Okay? That was the
fastest sextent, by the.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Way, Oreo said, yeah, bro, the Steelye's Stee Dann song
that you played last night. That was fine.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
They lied, They lied I don't understand how you don't
like songs like.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
This because I told you we don't own yachts, so
why would we play yacht rock on Fox Sports Radio?
Speaker 3 (21:40):
Does that even?
Speaker 5 (21:40):
And I have never played yacht rock in the eight
nine months that I've been waving here.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Should we take requests from the listeners, then maybe they
could do better?
Speaker 3 (21:48):
They do, They do some of them. Guy and a
girl both with baill bottles and flowered shirts and really
high off shrooms in the sixties. Right now, it's just
so said. This is why you always know it. Don't
ask his song choices? And I spelled love with like
five os s love your song choices. He text me
(22:14):
right back.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Okay, and then I did not not like one half
of a second later, I got the text of the
whole song over there.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
He texted you back fast, and I literally everybody's laughing
at you.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Guys say these girl songs, these.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
Are song Literally yell at you every single time I
ask you, Hey, don't people.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
I don't just play Teddy Swims. You didn't like Teddy Swim.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Because swim point Teddy Swims.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
The only person who knew the person that was wrestler
from the seventies literally know, and he's like he's like
really built and big.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
The only person who knew was Bree, Bree love you.
But that's the only person who knew who Teddy Swims was.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
The boy game.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
People watching this video, hey two and thirty two pounds,
ladies and gentleman Teddy Swim.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
But I was like, that sounds like the jobb or
guy that's saying the ring already. He doesn't have intro music.
He's already in the ring and he's waiting for macho
man to come to the ring.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
I'll tell you that you guys don't have any taste
of music. I'm even trying to get younger with Teddy Swims,
and you know I was younger.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
They no younger. I needed that lab. Yeah, I wanted
to set all three you guys all right real quick, VJ.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
I do want to tell you though, a big news
today in college football Memphis b TU Wlaye thirty four
to twenty four. That kind of shakes things up, which
means now, and we were talking about this a little
bit last night, the Big twelve should get in their
divisional champ There was a chance that the Big twelve
was not going to get in their conference champion into
(23:53):
the twelve team playoffs.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
That's not that can't happen. They have to let the conference.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
No.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
No, I I thought the same thing. Chris Plank explained
it to me all last night. We got a bunch
of tweets on it. There was a legitimate chance that
they were not gonna go in. You have to be
it's four, and you have to be a higher ranked
than the than Tulayne was. Now Tulayne dropped, So it's
(24:20):
not gonna.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Be a problem. No shot, it was happening. Okay, you guys,
can you guys can tell me all that crap you
wanted to there. Okay, I'm telling you this. There was
no shot, zero shot. I'm telling you guys, there was
zero shot that the Big twelve champion team was not
getting an into the college football playoff. I don't want
to hear.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Would have won the last two games, it would have happened.
But that that's that didn't happen. No, the Big Tall
Championship is getting the Big Twelve. They did not create this.
So what do you want another Florida state issue from
last year?
Speaker 3 (24:48):
No, no, no, no, But I and I said the
same thing.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
I couldn't believe it, and Chris explained it to me,
and everybody was getting in on it, and it was true,
it was and it was a pretty decent but Memphis
upset them. Give them a big Actually, that was a
you among the subset over Tulayne. I did not see
that coming. Thirty four to twenty four. Actually, Julna had
to get two fourth quarter touchdowns just to even, you know,
(25:12):
try to get back in this thing.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yeah, I saw, but I'm not riding with that. I'm
not riding with that, Arnie. They were they were getting
and I get Listen, I get for great convo and
for if this and if that, and if this and
if that, if it was an eighth we'd all be high.
I get all of that. But at the end of
the day, I'm telling you all, there was no way
when a twelve the twelve team playoff was supposed to
eliminate what happened last year, and that was the point.
Didn't They didn't do that. They'll have to change it.
(25:35):
They didn't do it. They didn't do it.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Yeah, that's why it's it's not the Big five, it's
the Big four.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
That's what it is.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
And it was more than just if, if and if
it was a legitimate chance and it was a big
thing everybody was talking about and they actually got saved,
it would have been a big, big problem had they
not gotten in.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
So I'm glad they got it. There would have happened,
I think. I think even even if, even if today's
game would have went the opposite way, I still truly
well then all they had then all Tulayne.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Next was the ACA, the conference Championscause what.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
You're playing around with right now because I see, I
see what they're trying to do with Alabama, and I
don't like it. I see what they're trying to do
with Alabama. They got Alabama right outside. Alabama just got
beat by unranked team, like I'm saying, and it gave
him their third loss. Let's get to ALABATMA. I want
to get to that.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
I want to make sure we get We'll finish up
the game here with Miami Green Bay. We'll get to
all that coming up next, Martin weistows, standy bye. Let's
see what's trending. Get caught up with all the scores
out there. What's shake it out there, Martin.
Speaker 6 (26:37):
Right now, the Miami Dolphins have the ball down thirty
to seventeen with thirty one seconds left in the fourth quarter,
but ultimately looks like a game that the Packers are
going to go ahead and win. Jordan Love twenty one
for twenty eight, two seventy four through the air, two
touchdown passes, Josh Jacob a touchdown rushing. Green Bay had
one hundred and fourteen yards on the ground, but the
high man was only Jacobs with forty three yard cards.
(27:00):
That's more than the Dolphins had entirely rushing. They only
had thirty nine yards on the day to a tongue
of by Lowa thirty six for forty five, three point
fifty seven and two touchdowns. Played pretty well despite now
dropping to eight and I mean sorry, oh to eight
in games in which the weather is under forty five degrees.
I'm sure that the two Dolphins fans hosting this show
(27:22):
will have more to discuss about that topic in just
the moment. The Cowboys beat the Giants twenty seven to twenty.
Rico Daldo had one hundred and twelve yards rushing and
a touchdown. Giants first team in the NFL to be
eliminated from playoff contention. As I watched Matt Lafloor and
Mike McDaniels hug at the hug in midfield. That game's
now over final score thirty to seventeen. Lions beat the
(27:42):
Bears third twenty three to twenty. They trailed the Bears
did sixteen and nothing in the first half. Kayleb Williams
had three touchdown passes. In the second half. In a
comeback attempt, Matt Eberflus neglected the call time out. They
had one in their pocket that was thirty seconds left.
Clock ticked all the way down to six. Kayleb Williams
do an incomplete pass on the last play of the game. Afterwards,
Matt eberfu said he was happy with the way things
(28:05):
worked out, paraphrasing there, but yeah, he'll be home for Christmas.
Two Lane lost its first game in conference play, thirty
four to twenty four to Memphis Arnie. You're right, that
eliminated essentially Two Lane from the college football playoff. Had
they won this game, they would have hosted the AAC
Championship and because of all the big twelve losses they
would have been had they had won the championship game
(28:27):
would have been the fourth highest ranked conference championship winner,
meaning they would have been in the College Football Playoff.
Now it is a much more murkier for the Green Wave.
If they had just won out, they would have punched
their ticket quarterfinals for the Battle for Atlantis. Arny plug
your ears. Oklahoma beat Arizona eighty two to seventy seven.
(28:49):
That was a game heavily discussed on Foxville Tradio last night.
Chris Plank victorious. Louisville beat West Virginia seventy nine to
seventy in overtime. Louisville and Oklahoma play in the championship
game tomorrow in the Constellation Bracket. Third rint Gonzaga be
fourteenth Indiana eighty nine to seventy three.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Arnie and VJ back to you guys.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
All right, thank you very much. Martin of courts live
at the Tirereck dot Com studios. He's VJ Husky and
Arnie Spanier in for the guys tonight. Jason Smith and
his best friend Mike Harmon here on Fox Sports Radio.
By the way, tomorrow will also be here VJ and myself.
So we got to finish out the week. You were
talking about Alabama. You don't like what they're doing. To Alabama,
(29:28):
and what I'll throw in Indiana too, because everybody says
Indiana should be, you know, easily in.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
I'm not seeing that they should be easily in. They
have one loss. How are they not easily in?
Speaker 2 (29:39):
I think they should be in. I think there's a
I don't know, a swell of support. Maybe he's a
bad choice of words. I think people are trying to
figure out how to get them out so they can
get a team, Mike, Alabama. But let me hear what
you have to say about Alabama.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
That's the but, and I agree with you, But that's
the BS I'm talking about because we've all we all
sat here, everyone that's radio, done TV, on my ears,
to the ground, on football, no one agreed that a
three loss team should get into the playoff. No one
agreed to that. We all thought, hey, man, if you
got three losses, you can't get because with three losses,
would you have got to a sixteen playoff? No? Would
(30:14):
you got to the fourteen playoff?
Speaker 1 (30:15):
No?
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Would you got to the eight team playoff?
Speaker 1 (30:17):
No?
Speaker 3 (30:17):
But a twelve team playoff? And it's like, oh yeah,
let's get a three a three lost team in And
if you look at two Alabama's losses. Two of their
losses against unranked teams, and they're trying to keep them
hovering on the outside to sneak them in. It's far
past just Nick Saban, Now this is like an sec thing.
(30:38):
This is what I'm kind of looking at. I'm looking at, like,
hold on, how is Alabama sitting at thirteen fourteen? Dude?
They have two losses to two unraked teams. They should
be ranked out of the top twenty. How is how is?
How are we doing this? And now there's a question
whether Indiana should be in there. We played the SoundBite
from their coach last week when he was asked that
He's like, I mean, yeah, there's no doubt in my
(30:59):
mind there should be.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
But when we have one loss, what about strength of schedule?
Does that have to shouldn't have the factor in anything?
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Okay, So Alabama played Mercer two weeks ago. Georgia played
U Mass at home last I don't get it, but
I don't give them credit for playing Mercer. But if
you're going to go to strength as schedule, then you
cannot tell. Then Alabama, damn short, can't get in.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
No, but I'm not gonna play you know, base their
whole thing on the game against Mercer when you're playing
an SEC schedule.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Now, oh, SEC schedule. I'm so tired of hearing that
that's a decade old. That's not right anymore. There's two.
How many good teams are in the SEC this year? Now? Now?
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Then?
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Now the conference has expanded? Okay, so Texas is now
in the SEC. Right so people can say, well, there's okay, Texas.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Georgia, Georgia, Tennessee. Really, Tennessee's not their top ten teams.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
I know they are top ten teen. I said how
many good teams are in the SEC? I didn't ask
where they were ranked. Okay, Tennessee is a good team. Okay,
So then there's your three, there's your there's your three.
How many good teams are in the Big Ten?
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Well, if you consider out like you were making the
case for the before, Big ten's the best conference in football.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
There you oh say, there you go. So there's not
gonna be a three lost Big Ten team get in?
Is there gonna be a three lost Big Ten team
get in? There won't be a.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Three lost Big Ten team get in because it's so
top heavy with Penn State, Oregon, Ohio, State and Penn State,
Penn Stint. So there's four teams with zero or one loss.
That's why a team with three losses. Okay, so they're
not gonna climb up. But you can't take a fifteen,
no problem. So let's go through it real quick. So ten,
the Big ten. Let's say four, right, and we just
named the four team the SEC. Who gets it from
(32:31):
the SEC? If Arnie Plank excuse me, not play, I'm sorry.
If Arnie Spaniard is doing the if you.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Have, if you have the last A, so they call
your house and say, Arnie, we're giving you the last A.
So give us your three SEC. G give us your
SEC teams that you think deserve to be in the
College Football Playoff. You gotta say Tennessee correct right, Georgia
correct right? Texas? Yes, in Texas. Okay, so now that's seven,
so that's more than half. No Tre Dame is eight. Okay,
there we go. That's fine. I don't have a problem
(32:58):
with No to Dame getting in. There were eight. Okay,
So whoever wins the Big twelve? Did you put it
in the ad in there? Yes, because we got four
from the Big ten.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
The Big Twelve now is back on the table. So
that's number nine.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
Okay, so that's nine. So that's nine teams right there.
Who else? Who? Who else? Do you think? Well?
Speaker 2 (33:16):
The AA seed now they're not gonna send somebody, so
you'll have to get in the conference like Boise So that's.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
That's s SMU nine, I mean SMU ten, right right,
SMU ten, Boise State eleven. Right there you go. So
we're down the one team left, yes, there, so we're
down to one team left Clemson. Could Clemson be it?
Clemsons only had two long Arizona State. Yeah, but Big twelve.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
The third thing that if they played in the conference
championship or they lose along.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
The way, that's fine, that's fine. You have you have,
you still have Arizona State, you still have iowas right.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
As a matter of fact, that's a big game against Arizona.
A lot of people are rooting for Arizona to upset
Arizona State. So Colorado could go to the big.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
Tags exactly, and then you have BYU. Those are all
teams with two or less losses, right, so we're down.
So we're up to fifteen teams. We have fifteen teams
with two or less losses. How in the hell can
you skip those teams and put a three loss team
in that's lost to two unraked teams. Well, we're not
giving team names.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Who's better a team with two losses with a strength
of schedule of one hundred or a team with three
losses with a strength of schedule of like.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Five first of all, strength to schedule is in my opinion,
it's a personal narrative. It's a personal narrative. Here's Alabama schedule,
Western Kentucky, University of South Florida. They win them, they
beat at Wisconsin. The Nebraska just slacked them last weekend.
They beat Georgia, they lost at Vanderbilt, giving up forty.
(34:49):
They beat South Carolina, who they lost to Tennessee. They
beat Missouri who they beat LSU, and we know what's
happening with LSU. They beat Mercer and then they go
schluck and Norman putting up three points against Oklahoma. That
is not a college football playoff team. I'm sorry, right,
I'm sorry. I don't think they'll get in.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
But somehow I feel like if Nick Saban was that
still there, maybe it's still maybe it'd be a little
bit of a different story.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
But they're trying. My point I'm making is with them
sitting at thirteen, they're trying to find a way to
sneak Alabama in. And I warned people of this when
they made the playoff. I like the playoff. I'm not
knocking the playoff. Just be real and make it me,
Just be real about it. I don't mind the playoff.
I don't mind twelve teams. But this was supposed to
(35:35):
move us out of Look what happened last year. Florida
State got knocked out simply because we didn't know where
their quarterback was gonna be. Tell all they did was
went undefeated and won their conference.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
When we get back, let's take a good games coming

Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving out there. Glad you
(36:41):
can hang out with us, big vanilla funny. I'm a
stinking genius one. If you want to get ahold of
us through Twitter, VJ. I do have to tell you
today was quite an adventurous day for myself. I was
going up to my sister in laws as your fault
right in Vermont. I live in Vermon and you know,
(37:01):
my wife went ahead of me and she was driving
a Jeep Cherokee her car, and she makes it up
no problem whatsoever. And I come like an hour later,
and the snow was coming down pretty hard. I didn't
expect it because they live up in the hills and
must have gotten like five six inches in like one hour.
It was. It was just coming down nuts. I wasn't prepared.
(37:23):
I didn't even have shoes. I had tennis shoes on,
thank goodness. I had a coat, thank goodness. I had
gloves with me in a hat.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
I go up.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
I maneuver around. I didn't even have my car and
four wheel drive. I have a jeep Wrangler Sahara, so
I figured I'd be able to maneuver no matter what.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
Everybody get out of my way.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
I get it stuck in the snow about a half
mile from the house. So now I got to call Howard,
the guy who lives there. He comes down in his
range drover. Do you know what rain drovers.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
Cost, by the way, Uh yeah, rain rovers are pensilman.
It was like a bark. They're like a one hundred
TI yeah, yeah, yeah. The more than that depends up on,
like you know what model you get into there.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
So he comes down, he gets the range Rover stuck
in the snow. Now he's got to go ahead and
shovel around. But I can't get out and help him
because I'm just wearing tennis shoes and jeans and I'd
be soaking wet. So now my wife and her sister
and my son and my nephew have to hike down
(38:27):
a half mile to bring us shovels and to put
stuff under the tires, and to bring me boots in
case I have to walk back up because.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
You know, I can't walk in my tennis shoes. I'm
I'm stuck out there. It was.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
It took us about three hour or two hours to
dig out from under the snow, and we finally got
the cars going and they drove him to the top,
but they couldn't stop. We had pushed the cars out
and we didn't want them to stop, so we had
to hike back up to a mile back to the
house in the snow in my tennis shoes. So that
(39:05):
was my eventful. How was that my fault?
Speaker 3 (39:07):
I don't understand out because man, because you're supposed to
be smarter that you live in Vermont. Yes, you know
what I mean. And then you just told a fit man.
I saw that you have flip flops on na nah,
see you lying. See that's why it was your fault.
And see this is where and see, this is where
your privilege and arrogance in the titlement comes in. Who
the hell are you? Who the hell is your ass?
(39:29):
The did you could go out in Vermont in the
snow because you got a jeep wrangler? Stop watching them
damn commercials and believing what you see. Yeah, everybody that
drives a BMW. You see them driving all fast on
the curvy roads. You better do research and understand that
BMW's have some of the worst axles of any European
car in the market. That's why you're car. So yeah,
they're tells you the driver like that, so you have
(39:51):
to keep replacing that axle. Man, Listen, that's that's your
fault in shame on you that you had to have
your wife yes, and another lady yes, come down and
you sound proud about it. But I did.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
I couldn't do anything. So they're outside the car. I'm
in the car. I'm in the car sting, listening to
the game while everybody's outside shuffling, and I could see
them looking at me shaking their head.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
What do you want me to do? I can't, Yes,
you can't. I couldn't get out of the car. You
should be. Let me tell you something.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
Man.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
You see you're trying to sound pimp about it, but
it's not. It's not. Honestly, Arnie, I'm proud of you,
but go ahead. He's pushing equality, that's all all right,
pushing equality. My ass is your lady listening to night
(40:46):
You see where I live California. I could wear flip
flops year round. I'm just talking about quality. I feel
you because how is it your fault?
Speaker 6 (40:56):
It's your fault that it just was the act of
God decided to snow where it was parked, the range
over there. All of this is Arnie's fault. Were just
trying to watch the lions and the bears. I'm with you,
I'm exactly so it was.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
It was a nightmare. What were you doing now? You
had to you had a show to do tonight. Is
thanks getting What were you doing now?
Speaker 2 (41:15):
But I was gonna go down there for a couple
of hours watch the game. I figure it's usually only
a forty five minute drive, so I was gonna go there,
leave it about like five o'clock, which is what still
five hours before the show, get home and watch the
end of the second game, and then get ready for
the Dolphin game and relax by myself. And it just
(41:36):
it took me an hour and a half to get home.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
It was double double the time.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
It was the worst out there. I'm a bad driver.
There's no street lights here, everything is pitch black.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
Who I can't see it? Who helped you out? Your wife?
Speaker 2 (41:47):
And who my wife, and my sister in law and
my son and my nephew.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
Okay, hey, kudos to you peeple, kudos to you guys.
But let me tell you something. Don't get Arnie a
damn thing for Christmas. Don't get already know for Christmas.
Missus span if you're listening, stop baking himself. Do you
start six months?
Speaker 2 (42:05):
Do you know what I got my wife last year
for Christmas?
Speaker 3 (42:07):
I don't even want to hear it. To be honest
with you, I got her, Oh it's just truth.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
And I took a picture of it. A very expensive one.
I got her, like the Ferrari of the kind. I
got her very expensive shovel. They're like, you know what,
you know what, you know what?
Speaker 3 (42:24):
You know what. First of all, I'm so tired of
people describing stuff by other things that it's not the Ferrari.
This is this is the Ferrari of burgers. Yeah, oh
my god, Oh you gotta go to this bagel shop.
It's like the Lamborghini of bagels. Like if you like,
if if like, if Lamborghini made a bagel, it come
from this place.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
This one's got fast tours to our body.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
Come on, now, we are not winning any points with
the women right group. Right now, I swear to you
we're not DJ. I'm with you. I'm with you on
this argument of like Martin's with Arnie, I'm with you.
VJ said, don't buy listen, don't listen to my regular
show co host guess no ladies, and he's going with
the flow, don't listen to on this. Can I tell
you right now, there's no I know Martin long and
(43:09):
I know Markin for about seven eight years. You fight
our show for about three. I know. If Martin got
stuck and he called his lovely lady, which I've met,
she's come in and listened to our show and Ben
in the studio, there's no way in hell Martin would
have sat his ass in his in his truck and
washed his lady and another lady into other people shovel
him out. Well, there's also no way in hell I'd
(43:30):
be in this snow. But if it happened, though, If
it happened, though, all right, for when your car on
one on one, when your car caught fire, sure, if
she was with you, you'd have pushed her out first
before you jumped out.
Speaker 6 (43:43):
If she couldn't figure out, Hey, time to get out
of the car.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
Alright, alright, alright, okay, you know.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
You gotta get out of the car. You're Fox firstrated before.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
We get trying to take off for the guy. He
just yeah, okay tweet. I wanted to get through.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
Bill wants to take a shot and us Bill said,
wait a minute. The Big Ten is the best conference
in football, question mark, Please, outside of Oregon and Ohio State,
everyone in that conference would be in the bottom half,
maybe bottom fourth in the SEC. That is from Bill
out there. Bill, You're probably in the minority of this.
(44:26):
I think everybody recognizes that the Big Ten is the
best conference there v JA oh.
Speaker 3 (44:31):
God, so let me just read, let me just do me.
So the the the the SEC that everyone loves so much.
We already agree with Texas, Georgia and Tennessee. We give
you three Texas A and m Okay, South Carolina, Okay,
Alabama three losses, two to unranked teams, both on the road.
(44:52):
Can't go on the road and beat bad teams l
s U unranked Missouri Tigers three losses, oh Miss three
losses like and then from there it's five five five, five, five,
six seven nine, So the bottom four. So Oklahoma Auburn, Kentucky,
and Mississippi State would be would be would be uh
(45:13):
what Penn State, Indiana, that's what you're telling us. It
would be they would be. No, they wouldn't, They'd get
their asses handed.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
So that doesn't mean I look, with that being said,
and I agree with you, that doesn't mean once the
playoffs start, depending on matchups that I don't think of
Boise State could pull off the upset or if Army
was was going to get in at one point that
if they couldn't pull off the upset, though they didn't
look very good against Notre Dame, you.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Just never know what it. You know, comes to Texas,
I have three teams that are gonna win national championship. Okay,
there's only three teams that's gonna win this Thay, Texas,
you're gonna be Texas. I would be. I would be
gravely afraid to play Georgia. If I'm anybody, I would
be gravely afraid. They start off slow. Well, I know
a lot a lot of people, a lot of people
(45:58):
definitely don't like their court it back, and that's fine,
But there's just something about Kirby Smart. There's just something
about that man that gets his team prepared for big games,
big moments unless he's playing against guess who, Nick Saban
and Alabama. But Nick Saban is not there anymore, so
I think that they would be. And this year they
had a shot they getting them, They got up big,
(46:19):
Obama got big on them. They came back. But we're
talking about this point of the year. And then Oregon, Oregon,
NOO State's got no shot. Ohio State's not winning the
national championship. They've got no shot to win a national championship.
It's about quarterback play. And that's but Georgia to me
is the anomaly team. If I'm talking about quarterback play.
Georgia is the anomaly team only because I just like
(46:40):
all the other pieces that they have in Kirby Smart No.
I watched them m Kansas State. You know if, like
I seen the guy before, I just think that, you
know what, fine, I'll cut it down to two teams.
Just give me Texas or Oregon. Honestly, I'll take George
out of it. That's fine. I'll tell Georgia because I
can see how people can argue that. But Texas and
Oregon are gonna win this thing. It's gonna be one
(47:01):
of those. You made a case for Notre Dame. Like
you said, they've been playing. They've been playing really they've
been playing really, really well. But I just I don't
trust Order Dame based off of just what I've seen
over history, what I've seen over time. I'll try to
pull this up while we're talking.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
But we had on Todd Furman talking about I said, hey,
any good long shots or good values on some of
these teams that are gonna be you know, one of
the twelve teams.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
I said, maybe Indiana.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
We brought them up thirty or thirty five to one
to win the national championship. Not bad if you believe
that they're really as good as there is. Some people
think they are as advertised.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
I think they're good. But the Ohio State game, and
I said this on air when we when lasts a
Saturday with you, I truly do feel like Saturday showed
you're good, you're coming up, but you're just not there yet.
You're not because when you put the tape on the tape,
players don't fool you on tape. They just don't. And
(48:01):
Ohio State's got better players. They got way more better
players that punt return by Caleb Downs ended that game.
You can see Indiana dropped their head. You can see
the body language change. That means you're not ready for
this moment. You may be ready athletically. You may be
ready size and by your bench press, and by your
squad and by your cleaning jerk, and by your deadlift
(48:23):
and by all the metrics we do with football. Yeah,
you may be ready by that. But when you get
on the field and you put the tape on, what
I saw was a team that has more five star
and better four star guys than you do in over
four quarters on the road in November. That's the part
that's gonna play out a whole lot more than good team.
(48:47):
New coach thirteen players he brought with him from James Madison. Yeah,
it's been a great story and you're gonna get in
the playoff. You don't have a shot if you go
up against Texas. They're bigger than you in the trenches.
Texas has got too offensive linemen are going to go
in the first round. Well, I'll tell you what.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
Bertie Fadi will join us next hour from Vegas before
his show, but we'll go out to Vegas right now.
Speaker 3 (49:08):
I'll give you the odds.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
The odds un favored right now Ohio State two and
a half to one or plus two seventy five or
two fifty, depending on where you're shopping around. Then Georgia
at plus three fifty, Oregon plus four, so they're four
to one, Texas four and a half to one. Now
here's where the value comes in if you think you
(49:29):
you want to bet a little bit and make a lot.
Notre Dame fourteen to one, Penn State sixteen to one,
Tennessee twenty two to one, Miami twenty eight to one,
and as you mentioned, Alabama forty to one, and let
(49:50):
me give you Indiana updated odds. I take it back,
they're fifty to one to win the national championship.
Speaker 3 (49:57):
So not some pretty good launch.
Speaker 2 (50:00):
You could get Boise State at one hundred to one
if you feel like they're gonna make a run of it.
Anything that jump out to vj Ye Texas at four
and a half, the one you said you're kind of
like Texas, right, I like Texas.
Speaker 3 (50:14):
And I like Oregon. The reason why I'm not into
going for underdogs to win national championships in college football
because once again, football is a sport that there is
no luck involved nine times out of ten. The better
team that's got the jimmies and joe's and the coach
(50:34):
that's gonna write up the best x'es and o's is
gonna win the national championship. Here here, I'll just read
you the last twenty Okay, you tell me where the
underdog was last year. Michigan, Georgia, Georgia, Bama, LSU, Clemson, Bama, Clemson, Bama,
Ohio State, Florida State with famous Jamis Wilson aka Krableys Bama, Bama,
(50:56):
Auburn with Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton, Bama, Florida with
ten tebo, LSU, Florida with ten tebo, Texas USC, those
USC teams LSU and USC and a tie in Ohio State.
Show me where the under show me where the long
shot is right.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
But we've never really had to have a long shot
in it because there've only been four teams. But none
of those years one of the two teams. We've never
had a team that's a long shot to play for.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
Now, none of those teams because they went and gotten there.
They wanted to beat the teams in front of him,
not get there. But now with twelve teams. The long
the other dog does get there, they get there, but
they got no SHOTAI. It's twenty eight to one. No,
not enough players. Not enough players, man, because okay, cam Ward, right,
but you're also giving a team two to three weeks
(51:42):
to prepare form, right, and a good team and a
good defense that's probably got some all conference guys, and hell,
don't let them have an All American defender over there.
You're in trouble, kiddo. This ain't Wake Force.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
You made a case for Notre Dame fourteen to one.
That's some pretty good odds. Penn stated, sixteen to one.
Speaker 3 (51:59):
Jays Franklin.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
If they get over the hump of James Franklin losing
the top five teams.
Speaker 3 (52:03):
They can't there. You go, So as long as they
go play a top five team, they're not gonna win
the game. I'm not gonna be fooled by stuff this year.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
Man.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
I'm gonna just call what I see. The two best
college football teams I've seen on film or with my
own eyes have been Texas and have been and have
been Oregon and Georgia three and four, by the way,
they're three and four, and the reason why, And I'll
tell you, the reason why Georgia scares me is because
they win and beat Texas at Texas. Right, that's why, George,
that's why I still kind of just hang on the
(52:31):
jebe But then they have the bad Alabama loss. Like,
I get it, there's something we could point for all
these teams, but Oregon. When I'm looking at Oregon, is
Oregon lost this year? Yet anybody beat them yet? Okay,
Texas has one loss, and that's the Georgia team that's
got NFL Guys, that's one two of the last three
national championships. Like this isn't nothing to sneeze at. But
when it comes down to this tournament, teams are gonna
(52:52):
especially if you get a buye. If I get a bye,
you better not lose to a team that just come
out of a game. It just just got beat up on, right,
you better not lose to that team. I expect this
thing to go chalk. I'll wait until it's all seated
out of course, maybe one upset Arnie, but once we
get to the corners, I expect things to go chalk.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
I believe Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, Texas obviously the four
teams that can win him if I'm gonna go with
a little bit of a underdog pick, I don't know.
Penn State does intrigue me at sixteen to one, and
so does Tennessee at twenty two to one. Not sure
they can pull it off, but they've played a tough schedule.
Speaker 3 (53:30):
They know what it's like to play tough teams. Maybe
they's got quarterback issues, right Penn State. Penn State has
franklined it. It's like Doc Rivers, right, I'm just not
gonna pick the Bucks. I'm not picking the Bucks to
do nothing in the playoffs as long as Doc Rivers
is their head coach, because history tells me I'm right.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
If I do that, well, history maybe right again. We'll
see what happens. We're gonna come back. We'll start taking
a look at week thirteen games. Also put a wrap
up on what happened today. We also have a game tomorrow,
so we got a lot of NFL to get to.
All that's coming up next. V Ja Husky Arnie Spanier
in for the guys tonight, Jason Smith and his best
friend Mike Harmon All right here on Fox Sports Radio.
