Ti rack dot Com is the way tire buying should be. Now,
I want to calm everybody down right now. I want
to calm everybody down because there's a lot of nervous
people out there right now. Lot nervous people, very very
(01:04):
nervous people. Because, as you know, every cam be calm be, calm, calm.
This is the first week of the Fantasy football playoffs.
Oh yeah, Thursday night, Rams forty nine ers. This is
the first game of the first week of Fantasy playoffs.
(01:27):
Likely you played Matthew Stafford, kyn Williams. Yeah, who can
the coop? Sure Cooper Cup. Of course, if you were desperate,
absolutely desper you played DeMarcus Robinson, you played Brock Purdy,
you played Isaac Lorendo, you played Deebo, you played Kittle,
you played Juwan Jennings, may.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
Like Bob going celebrity birthday cadence at this point, and
you might have played Juwan.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Jennings, Madonna turned sixty seven, George Kittle, and you played
all these players. And here we are, middle of the
third quarter, Niners leading the kickers.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
You still have an active kicker slot. Maybe you got
a little bit of juice today, but you got some
weather issues, right, It's been raining on and off over
the course of the night. You've got some really bad
clock and time out management at the end of the half, Hie,
both coaches, You've got a number of interception worthy balls
that would have given you a great field position and
(02:25):
possibly the opportunity to take that shot downfield for a
scoring strike instead.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Six three Baby, six three, early second half. The only
and this is this is like somewhat, it's legit, the
only only Fantasy owners right now who are happy, right, happy,
happy ish Jake Moody's that's it.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Well, one of them is fifty three. You know, you
check the box and you move forward.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
But you know, we were talking about it was one
of the last things we did last night and and
talk about the game ahead. It's like, all right, Rams,
and then I get in the car and immediately I'm like, yeah,
but is there gonna be a hangover? After all the
effort expended to try to win that game against Buffalo
on Sunday, right, I mean, because that was a knockdown,
(03:15):
drag out spect a lot of energy were tired. We
didn't sleep that well during the week, but it's a
three day recovery.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
We always talk about hangovers for a Thursday night and
you go into a divisional matchup. Meanwhile, you had the
forty nine ers who were able to more or less
sleepwalk through that crushing, you know, victory over the Bears
where the Bears showed no resistance whatsoever. So if I'm
looking at each team, how are they feeling coming into
this game? Even with the injury report, which was pretty
(03:41):
lengthy for the forty nine ers, right, was Bosa gonna play?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
He did? It was Guerendo gonna play? He did?
Speaker 4 (03:48):
And they get green Law back who's flying around like
he's a freshman.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
It just got his first nil money. Is Montana going
to play at some point? Maybe they ted the elbow
and there you go.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
You see Shanahan walk to midfields like we got a
lot of stuff going on.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Is Brent Jones going to play candlesticks?
Speaker 4 (04:10):
You got Pylot Jones in my old friend. Nicely done.
There's a look two things.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
I'll coming off this game right now, which again is
six to three in the middle of thirty. It's close
for the forty nine ers. First, if not for and
this is where the forty nine ers need to write
Woody Johnson a thank you note, because if not for
the Jets, the forty nine ers would be just getting
dragged through the mud as the biggest tire fire in
(04:35):
the NFL this year. Here they are six and seven
in what was supposed to be a championship or bus
type year. They went out and gave guys money that
we don't care. And I like what they did, right.
It doesn't matter what they what they did or didn't do,
and when it comes to, hey, the future. But this
year they decided to go for it. We're gonna bring
(04:57):
all our guys back. We're gonna give them money. They got,
like nine guys made making fifteen million dollars a year
and look where they are. Like, they would be the
biggest tire fire if not for the fact that the Jets,
who also went all in, were just more high profile
and absolutely worse. And also, you know, they fired a
head coach and they fired jet. Yeah, but besides that,
(05:18):
the forty nine ers would be the biggest tire fire
in the NFL just because of what they were supposed
to accompl we thought they could accomplish. And here they
are right now that Yes, they're fighting for the division
league because division is terrible. Oh, we're all beating each
other up. No, the Niners were supposed to be great. Hey,
they were supposed to be fantastic, and they're not. That
is parody.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
Okay, I will not have you besmirched the product that
I loved. If you saysmirch, you have to pick a
new word. I'm done with besmirch you God too much.
Those are both good, those both of them. That was good.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yeah, it was good.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
Yeah, they have reasons or excuses that your Jets don't.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
No, they don't what excuses. They have had a monster
load of injuries. Reason. Sure we have to key players. Sure,
Breese Hall may not play again this week. I mean,
I know it. We're three and nine when that happened.
But that was a big injury.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Now our offensive line got hurt. All the all the
Oh no they were old and they difference. No, no, no,
all the old guys we signed got hurt. I know
that was on the brochure, but it still happened. It
doesn't mean the guy is still playing. And once he's
in deside the White Lions, I don't really give a damn.
And Aaron Value hurt all year left, But that's why
(06:32):
he's sing Aliens. That's it, hey for divine intervention, otherworldly.
Tomorrow night could be the Aliens night. For it's Friday
Night at thirteen that he had. What the five E
sixty do we do?
Speaker 4 (06:44):
We get to do the show from outside the studios
underneath like the nor East sign.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Uh, Friday thirteenth is not a it's not a but
there's that's kind of chaotic stuff going on. It's not
Friday thirteenth is a Hey, we're going camping in the
woods and all here comes a with a machete. No,
that's not that's not super I had to go back
in my lore. There's more.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
No.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
I mean, they did send spirits in the materials Jason
to space and ten, but that was where that was
where the series got really ridiculous. So they said, did
send him to space? Not all the times he came
back from the dead. No, he came back well, okay,
what's her name? Did bring him back with with telekinetic
powers in four? Yeah, But I mean you got to
think about the different Hallmark horror suspense kind of this
(07:30):
guy hockey mask we got dude, you know in space
Leprechaun went to the hood. I mean, we had a
lot of stuff going on creativity. If not for the
Jets the four, they'd be the biggest tire fire in
the NFL because they're talented enough to win. Uh no, yeah,
but everybody thought you were going to be a tire fire. No, yeah,
(07:51):
that's not true.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
I can show you videos of guys that were making
Super Bowl predict the prominent people, but it.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Was but no. But every in the end, I think
most people thought, well, eventually they're going to turn back
into the Bears. I mean really all this.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
But.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
With out last you just fired a coach. Here's where
you no, you literally have you know, no no, because
we fired see Ryan polesy in't there. He fired a
coach in a GM. You just fired a coach. Advantage us. Okay,
you lose, you lose. You just because he's still drawing
(08:29):
to paycheck. You tell me he's got any you lose.
That's a scoreboard head coach F Matt jen roynalder F
for you. It's just head coach F. I said to
one stud one Kevin Warren two to one. He's running
the Bears on the big tests. Absolutely doesn't matter. You
still have him. He's STI running things. You got a
(08:50):
couple of tax breaks. Our stadium process, what is it
going to be done? I don't know. For the Rams
part of it. This is where I said, oh, this
would be great, so we need to come tonight, and
was sit here and say, you know, I picked the
Rams and go to the super Bowl beginning of the season. Yeah,
a big night because I thought they were gonna come
in and really just go up and down the field
against the Niners. They're hot, their offenses hot, they're feeling good.
(09:12):
Coming off that win against Buffalo, the Rams are finally healthy,
and tonight we get rain and we get Matthew Stafford
who started out two for ten and the Rams are
having trouble moving the football. Look, it's a defensive struggle.
Like both the defense are playing really well. Niners defense
is still pretty good. But boy, I said this is
gonna be my Hey, remember I picked the Rams all
the way back for the season. Instead, I'm like, oh man,
(09:34):
the Rams have turned back into a team where you
say I don't get it. I mean, at least three
times a year the last couple of years I think
about the Rams and I go, I don't get it.
What is happening? What are they doing?
Speaker 4 (09:43):
To be fair, I mean historically, I mean in longview,
shanahan and McVeigh have had some classic battles, and Shanahan's
on the on the right side of the overall history.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
But again, you know, you.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Hit this point in the year, it's a Thursday game
coming off of a big emotional win, so it's like,
what do you get a little bit amped up a
little bit juice you add the weather. I mean, Stafford
first couple of possessions was just awful, Like it wasn't
even a all right, it's a little bit off, but
we can see what's going here.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
It's like, dude, directly, is this like, is this like
the first time you threw the ball today? Like did
you throw it all before the game? Did you win
pregame at all? I mean he got stuck in traffic?
Did you get a phone call or something? Was there?
Maana Claire, I'll do that too. Were you were you playing,
you know, playing playing Angry Birds? Like what were you doing?
You know, I'm trying to think of back to Angry
I'm trying to think what a game like a like
(10:33):
an older millennial is playing, and Angry Birds is probably
probably one of them. I'm thinking, you're thirty eight years old,
I'll play You're not going to play any of the
new ones, my eight. The new ones are tough new
ones that you know, the new app games are all
Like every year at the end of the year, I
always look back and go, Okay, what did I miss
this last year? At all different things, movies, TV, all
this stuff. Okay, that's something I might.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Have made great anticipation of the new year and catching up.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
No, I do it then to a patient because I
get excited because I'm like, oh, some stuff I miss
it might be really good. Like there's a couple of
bands I want to listen to that I think might
be good. A couple of TV shows that I think
I missed is a h Everybody says this Rebel Ridge
with Don Johnson is the most amazingly tight Rambo type
movie you've seen in like twenty years. See that right?
Speaker 4 (11:18):
The Billy Bob Thornton Oilman show is supposed to be
pretty good.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Do we need another Yellowstone Show? But I didn't watch Yellowstone,
so it's all new to me. This is like me
when I tried to jump in the House of the Dragon.
I said, yeah, I'm out. I'm out, man, I can't.
I tried to jump in that there weren't enough dragons.
I'm out.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
So you went back to your app on the phone
and you think of battling dragon.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Too much house, not enough dragon. But no, so I
go look and I see what's going on for next year,
and all the new games, like the real brand new games,
like the even the language they use. I'm like, I
don't know what this is, and I'm I'm not gonna
I'm not gonna download it. I'm just gonna try to
try to find something. I'm just gonna buy a new
gaming the latest. I'll go back and find a new
crossword puzzle app. But I'll just go back and find it. Yeah,
(12:00):
that's what I've always done. But look, the rams is
they're so maddening because you see the talent and they're
so widely inconsistent, and you figure, now, okay, they have
no excuses, and they should have come in with all
feeling great, and instead we're going to the fourth quarter
and at six to three, there's been no points in
the last thirteen minute. Now they're on a drive here.
(12:22):
They flashed a graphic on the telecast that the forty
nine ers have surrendered fourteen straight red zone touchdowns, fourteen
straight red zone appearances. Of course, that's unconscionable. How do
you do that as a deep in its.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
But running the ball well, Kyran Williams starting to pick
up the pace a little bit, so a little more
balanced and nuanced kind of offense, so maybe you'll get
to breathe a little easier here in the fourth quarter.
All that to say, I think it's just really the
hallmark of the twenty twenty four season. There ain't a
whole hell of a lot of teams that you trust
for any level of consistency this year. And I don't
(13:00):
know that we've ever come this late into a season
where legitimately we can run down the thirty two. What's
the identity of this one?
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Oh? Yeah, yeah? Do they run the ball pretty well?
Did they pass the ball? Yeah? Kicker's pretty good. It's
a game. It's on TV.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
The kickers, all right, the punter, the punters hang time, right, geez.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
You want to call me, let me know what I
need to come and watch.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
I'm gonna go.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
I'm gonna go rap Presence and listen and listen to
holiday music and let me know I need to come
in and watch a lastew minutes.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Yeah, I me just I don't know that we've hit
the point final quarter of the season, and go all right,
here we go.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
This is what we're gonna expect looking at this late
this week. We got six or seven games that are
really good.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
The rest of it you might not watch, but I'll
be damned if you can tell me what you think
is gonna actually happen in exit?
Speaker 1 (13:48):
How about a Fresco exit swollen Dome. The Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Carmon live from the
ti iraq dot Com studios coming up next. Yes, we'll
have more on this game. Maybe we will actually have
a touchdown on field. Who knows well, again Matthew Stafford
running the ball. Yeah, Matthew Stafford just tried to run
it in on some kind of bootleg play.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Again, he got tackled and there's a penalty. So it
really didn't go well for the Rams in any sense.
And it did the more room to operate, more rooms
to operate. We didn't get to see a touchdown, uh,
so we could see a score. We'll keep you updated. Plus,
Bill Belichick met the media today for the first time
as the head coach in North Carolina, and oh boy,
did we hear some unbelievable stuff. That's coming up next
(14:32):
Right here, Jason and Mike, you are listening to Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (14:37):

(16:11):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show is my best friend,
Mike Harmon. It's a gift that keeps giving. I mean
I said, tie you to a different mash up every
few minutes. Have every few minutes. No, he's in his bag,
but I want to hear for whom the bell tolls.
Rocking around the Christmas tree again, like that was a
good one from last night. It really kind of terrified
my daughters this morning. That's how we started the day.
(16:32):
I go, I got something for you to get your
rolling here on a holiday holiday holiday countdown. Now, before
we get to Bill Belichick, I want to say the
ty shirt. This is this is something that you really
I am proud to have known you because I would
have gotten this right because of you. So you know,
my wife does trivia every Wednesday night, and she goes
and sometimes sends us the big sports questions. We do
(16:53):
him on the air in the final hour of the show, well,
when I went home last night, she said, oh, you're
not gonna believe the final question it was it was
very video games and we lost on it. And I
said you did and she said yeah. She goes, it's
you would have never got it. It's impossible. And I said, oh, man,
that's too bad, because yeah, you know and and and
none of us knew it and nobody did and the
one group had like one person that played video games
(17:15):
and knew it. And I said, what was the question?
Because she always tells me what the questions are? I said,
what was the question? And she goes, all right, what
video game has its main villains as Freezer and Cell?
And I said, oh my god, I said dragon Ball.
She looked at me, she said what I said, dragon Balls?
Speaker 3 (17:29):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Well, dragon Ball Z. But it's dragon Ball with the
Z at the end. And she goes, how did you
know that? I go, because ty Shirt does an animate podcast.
We talk about dragon Ball Z all the time. Are
you sure the Z is separate? And then it's not
just one word dragon ball? What dragon balls dragon Ball Z?
Because isn't that funny? I said, what song did they play?
(17:51):
Because they always play a song clue to tell you
what it is, and they played they played a song
by Imagine Dragons, and she goes they played they played
Imagine Dragons. I was like, yeahagon balls each go, oh
my god.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
Did you start doing this touching your nose little on
the nose right there?
Speaker 1 (18:06):
It's pretty that's gonna get you right there. But of
course everybody's doing trivia is you know, over forty so
you know how many people are gonna know anime. I
was like, oh man, I could have done it for
you dragon ball Z right away thanks to Alex Teischer.
You're welcome and Jason. Yeah, aname community is pretty big
with people over forty two forty two or forty over
forty over forty yeah, because.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Well yeah, they got all sorts of conventions and cosplays
stuff that they do.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
I'm forty one. It's not there for but I'm forty two.
So good, okay, all right, very good? And just FYI
dragon Balls. Yeah, that's Dan Campbell's podcast. That would be
a great title for his dragon ball It's dragon Balls
with Dan Campbell. What do we do? We go forward
on fourth down and I throw you up against the wall.
Oh okay, what do we do first? Well, we're doing
(18:51):
we're doing the podcast. Hey, you know who we're gonna
have on tonight. We're gonna have Trey Young on because
he egged all over the next last night. Man, Hey,
Trey Young, how you doing the Dragon Balls podcast?
Speaker 5 (19:01):
Yeah? You know it.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
I hate Nick fans. Yeah, this is great. I'll drop
my pants rolling rocks on your logo. I don't like
New York fans either.
Speaker 5 (19:09):
All right.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
I gotta say, get lots of credit to Jalen Brunson though,
and always probably win a game if we don't want.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
A guy doing that, see a mature approach. So here
we sit right now, fourth quarter? You sit down, Sit down,
We've had a field goal. Oh, it's great. The Rams
who ran some kind of play that almost got Matthew
Stafford killed. He's been holding since. They ran some kind
of play where Stafford takes it to the outside and
he gets absolutely crunched. He was holding his ribs, he
(19:37):
was holding his side. I don't know that would go
the way it designed to run from. I mean, that's
the element of surprise. But is it design or did
he audible to it? Like, I don't know either way,
nobody's taking.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Credit for it.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I could do it. I could do it. I'm not
gonna do it. I'm not gonna do it. I'm not
gonna do it.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
Well, because you saw the tight end get called for
the hole and it was almost like the hell's Matthew
doing like he scrambled earlier in the game, and you
would have thought he parted the Red Sea.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
He's like he's running. He's running. These twenty three year
old outside linebackers are fast and faster when I was
twenty three, all right, then I only needed three yards
for the touchdown. I didn't get back to the light
of scrimmage, but we did get a field goal. Rams
and Niners now tied at six apiece with twelve and
a half to go in the fourth quarter. I yeah,
(20:25):
I always tell fantasy fans it relaxed. That's why games
are sixteen minutes long. I understand right now, if you're
getting nervous, I understand if you played anybody else outside
of the two kickers tonight, you're little nervous. Right now,
I get it. I understand.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
At least there're no byes this week come in the NFL,
and it's infinite wisdom. At least decided to, you know,
take six teams off the field two of the last
three weeks, but we get a full slate this time,
including two Monday night games, so I mean all sorts
of fantasy glory that evening.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
So we'll have more on this game coming up. But
the other big story, and we say NFL because it
is Bill Belichick going to college foot ball. Everybody's got thoughts.
Had his press conference today, introduced as the next head
coach at North Carolina. The president of the school was
wearing some kind of ripped jacket. It looked bad. It wasn't.
It looked like someone said, hey, just get scissors and
(21:13):
cut this jacket. I'm going on stage in five minutes.
I want to be on with Belichick. All right, I'll
cut it. I don't have a good punchline. I don't
know how this is gonna go Any of the other
stuff I've prepared is gonna go over. So we'll at
least run to this because well it's low hanging fruit.
Everybody's got to at least laugh at this, right, right, Maybe,
(21:34):
so he has the press conference and the big money
bite comes early. Right, he does have the big money
bite early when he's asked, because obviously, hey boy, you're
set to become the greatest head coach in the history
of the NFL as far as winds going here, you
are gonna be trying to figure out how to get
by Syracusan Duke. Next year, well Georgia Tech and Wake Forest. Hey,
(21:54):
so did you come here?
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Bill?
Speaker 1 (21:55):
And you're just gonna be here a little while and
then you gonna split, You gonna leave town and leave
all broken hearts. Now here is newly minted speaking your
first time as North Carolina head coach, Bill Belichick, telling you, oh, no, no,
North Carolina. He's there. So what do you say to
people that fear that if you do succeed here that
you might leave for the NFL again in a year
(22:18):
or two.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Yeah, I didn't come here to leave.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Everybody platmwy is he done? We're not used to this.
That was only one line. You know, let's let's be
let's be on, let's put the cards on the table
with this story, because there were three things that happened simultaneously.
We got Bill Belichick' press conference that he went to
answer a lot of questions, and then we had an
article from The Athletic on Bill Belichick that said the
(22:46):
reason he's out of the NFL is he burned a
lot of bridges and nobody really wanted to get involved
business wise with Bill Belichick. And then you add ESPN.
Seth Wickersham had an article out about why Bill Belichick
chose North Carolina, and it was the big quotes out
of it were, Hey, it's a big blank you to
the NFL. He is sick of the NFL politics. He's
(23:06):
tired of the stupidness of the NFL, so he chose
North Carolina. All right, all of these things came out
at once, but there's one big thing to know. Don't
believe any of this and all this stuff, well except
the part about him burning bridges in the NFL. Don't
believe Belichick when he says why he came. Don't believe
this Seth Wickersham article, because this is just pr Bill Belichick.
I felt like I read that today and I said, oh, okay,
(23:28):
so like, boy, this investigative article, because that's Seth Wickersham,
he's an investigative reporter. This came out really fast. You know,
the guy decided to go to North Carolina. But now,
yet here's the spin, because that's what it was. It's
spin on why Belichick is in college. And just understand,
he is at North Carolina because the NFL didn't want him.
This is not a blank you to the NFL. That's
(23:50):
not sick of NFL politics. This is not I'm tired
of the stupidness of the NFL. This is nobody would
hire him. Nobody would hire him. The Bears wouldn't hire him,
The Giants weren't going to hire him, The Cowboys, who
knows if they were going to hire him, The Jaguars,
I don't know. Nobody was going to hire him. This
was not Bill Belichick's choice about to say, oh, I
(24:10):
see the teams that are out there, and yeah, I
don't know. Do I want to really go to Dallas
be in a position to win there? Do I want
to go to Jacksonville to really enjoy how that team
is run. No, nobody wanted he would show up the
first day you hired him. He would be there for
a press conference, cut off hoodie with whatever team colors
you have on except the Jets because he hates whatdy
Johnson be ready to go. He is in college because
(24:31):
the NFL did not want him. There is no way
Bill Belichick decided after his entire career and fifteen wins
Shaia don Shula that he says, oh yeah, I want
to finish at North Carolina in the middle of a
pack team in the ACC. There's no way they don't
want him, right, So all the stuff you were today,
so I feel like everything I heard today about Bill Belichick,
I believe the opposite. So that's the thing you should do.
(24:52):
Everything you heard about Belichick today, it's the opposite is true.
I didn't come here to leave. If he wins the
first two years at North Carolina, if he he goes
like nine to three next year and then you know,
eleven and one and goes to the playoff or something
like that, and the Cowboys call him or the Giants
call him and say, hey, Bill, we see you still
have your fastball.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
Man.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
Everything is really would you like to come back? He
would call North Carolina and say, hey, guys, I'm out,
Steve is the new head coach. I'm going back to
the NFL. He would leave in a second. This whole
I didn't come here to leave. Yeah, if you win
the first couple of years, the NFL is gonna come
sniffing around again. They're gonna say, hey, maybe we're wrong
about Belichick. He's had to prove it a little bit.
But hey, we're okay. We like him again. Bill, come
(25:32):
back and coach. Yes, I'll come back and coach anything.
I'll go back in a second in an absolute I
can't say New York minute, because he won't go to
the Jets. In a New York Giants minute, he would
go back to the NFL. But we talk about it
all the time. It's the answer in the moment. What's
he gonna do at that?
Speaker 4 (25:47):
Dais Oh yeah, I'm just biding my time any day now,
right because we started seeing all the details.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Thought I thought by the end of the press conference
that the Giants would call me as soon as this
that I was taught talking to North Carolina last week,
I really thought that would spur some act. I haven't
signed anything yet. I'm signing after the Prescott was hoping
during the press conference, I get a phone call. My
phone is that? My phone ring and my phone my
phone is that? Okay, my phone is not ringing.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
But we started to immediately get all the details about
buyouts and whatever else that I get it, the public figure,
public institutions, all of those kind of things where we're
gonna get more of the details than we would otherwise.
But oh that to say, I'm not getting any other
answer from him today, Like, no, we had really great
talks with this team, but I wrote down I was like,
(26:33):
what do you want?
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Everything was pushed, you had the seth Wickersham mart ready.
This was my choice. This was not Bill Belichick's choice.
This was you can't do what you want. So what's left? Well,
anything else? Oh? All right, well I'm gone.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
No, no, no, if you choose not to decide, you
still have made a choice. If you can't be with
the one you love, okay, love the one you went.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
It was North Kelsea. So the choice of North Carolina
or nowhere. He chose North Carolina. Yeah, say that's the choice,
that's the voice. But that's the.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Point, is that it's still a choice. He could still
just go and be a TV talking in.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
North Carolina or nowhere. Clearly dude would rather coach.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Whether it's good bad, I don't know, but that rather
than show up for production meetings or anything else for
podcasts and his video services about I want to go
back to where my sanctuary's yelling sanctuaries. He runs in
the door because he can go back to film review
(27:35):
and building game plans and dog eared rule books and
all that. Yeah, your timing thing is absolutely right. Is
that we get that much about this guy in twenty
four hours, a guy that we went for two decades
and even the Wickersham book that came out.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Did you believe half?
Speaker 3 (27:55):
I mean?
Speaker 1 (27:56):
But you know what I mean? Now, wait a minute now,
because really, when you're talking about investigative reports, right, they
take months. They need to figure out period. How did
this come out so fast? And everything is is of
the of the slant of Belichick chose this. No he
did not. This is a spin that was put out
to make it feel like, oh, Belichick thunded his nose
(28:17):
of the NFL. No, nobody wanted him. The phone didn't ring,
It didn't ring last off season after two interviews of
the Falcons didn't ring. Now he decided to push the
North Carolina thing because then he knew, Okay, I'll get
an answer once and for all if the NFL wants
because when they tell me, hey interested North Carolina a
week ago, you have to have a meeting and say,
wait a minute, now, if we want Belichick after week eighteen,
(28:38):
we gotta let him know not to take this gig
at North Carolina. Nobody did, and he can't. He went
to North Carolina, And what is he gonna wait around
another month?
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Right?
Speaker 1 (28:47):
The process for the college season begins now.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
So if you're gonna go do this, he's not gonna
do it half assed, where he's gonna wait and sit
around till till.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Black Monday the bowl game. I want him to show
up and coaching the Bulletich. I mean, he's not gonna
wait around and be like, ah, crap, nothing happened. Hey,
are there any of these college jobs that I get
so snippid. No, that's not the way this works.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
I mean, really, you go and you spin it the
best you can. You put on the best face that
you can. The nil money, whatever Luminaries, LT or Worthy
or Jordan whoever comes creeping around. All that's all funny, good,
But it's all spin at this point. And do I
think that there are some burn bridges, Sure, they're all isolated,
(29:28):
they're not what's precluding him from getting a job with
the other thirty one teams in the league.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
But whatever you heard from Belichick and about Belichick today,
the opposite is what's true. It's opposite day, I unders day,
the opposite is true. You just made Belichick castanza opposite
is true. Jason and Mike Harmon lot from the Tirech
dot Com Studios. Now, as a treat, Monti Belan is
gonna tell us what's trending, and since it is opposite
Day with Bill Belichick, she's gonna give you the wrong
(29:54):
scores and the wrong team winning. And just know that
the other team actually won the game. San Francisco is
up ninety against the Rams.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
Ver good.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Hey, that's not it, everybody, that's not it. That's all
those Moody owners are talking.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
It.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
We touchdowns in this game.
Speaker 6 (30:14):
Just in case you didn't hear Jason's INChO to that. No,
the Rams were driving fellas and they were stopped on
third and two.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
How to settle for a field goal, but it did give.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Them the lead.
Speaker 6 (30:24):
So the Rams are beating the Niners nine to six
with seven and a half, about seven minutes to go.
The Niners have the ball. They just are about to
cross midfield. So we'll see how this one ends. But
it has been a bit of a snooze fest. The
over hunter I think was forty eight and a half
or something. No, no, no, boy No. Saints head coach
Jarren Rizzy has named Jake Hayner the starting quarterback for
(30:45):
this week's game against the Commanders. It will be his
first career start for the Saints. The college football awards
have been announced throughout the night, so early today we
heard that two way star Travis Hunter won the Associated
Press College Football of the Year. He also has won
the Defensive Player of the Year. He is the most
outstanding receiver. He won the Walter Camp Player of the
(31:08):
Year as well, so he's just all over the place.
Miami quarterback Cam Ward has been named the Davey O'Brien
National Quarterback Award winner. Indiana's Kurt Signetti has won Coach
of the Year. Boise State star Ashton Genti is a
top running back in the country.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
He won the Doake Walker Award.
Speaker 6 (31:24):
Becomes the first FBS player with two thousand rushing yards
and twenty five rushing touchdowns in a season since twenty fifteen.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
In the NBA three.
Speaker 6 (31:32):
Games they've wrapped up, the Kings defeated the Pelicans won
eleven to one oh nine. Demontes simonas thirty two points
twenty one rebounds. The Heat took down the Raptors one
fourteen to one oh four, and the Celtics outscored the
Pistons went twenty three to ninety nine. Off the bench,
Peyton Pritcher twenty seven twenty seven points ton of sists,
he has ninety six three pointers made, tied for second
(31:53):
with Tyler Hero At the top. It's Anthony Edwards with
one hundred and three so far in the season.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
So which of those games did you bet on tonight?
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Neither?
Speaker 6 (32:03):
Thank goodness, really, thank goodness.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
Because big, bigger question tho if we're gonna go down
that road, anybody participating on your squad in the Guillotine.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
League, nobody.
Speaker 6 (32:14):
I have nobody playing, so but also I'm playing against
somebody who has Deebo Samuel in a different league in
the playoffs, and he hasn't done so well, so that
bodes well for.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Me watching There he goes, there, he goes, there go
I'm kidding. He just returned a kickoff too. He was
back there, he returned to kickoff. I was like, what
are you doing? Don't you dare score right now? They
stopped him. They stopped back to you guys, Well, thank you, Monsie,
And I know you bet Peyton Pritchard three point over
under tonight, I know you did that. Shoot Uh yes.
(32:45):
It is nine to six Rams with the lead over
the forty nine ers. However, the forty nine ers are
driving for a game tying field goal. I can't even
say go ahead touchdown, driving for a game tying field
goal nine to six, five minutes to go in the
fourth quarter, except that game tying field goal is not
gonna happen. Brock Purdy trying to go deep, throws an
(33:08):
interception instead. Williams makes a great play on the ball,
and now the Rams are gonna have the football first
and ten from their own twenty yard line. It was
just an overthrow. I mean, look, you had double coverage,
there was nobody open. That was pretty trying to hecket
it going down the side. He got a little too
greedy right there. And now the Rams have the football.
(33:30):
With a nine to six league, they could put this
game away at twelve six, yeah exactly, or a safety
say you can put this game waight a eleven six
forget too much. We can't come back from that. We
can't get two scores in the.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
Lastew Stafford to run it back and take the waste
time for the safety.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Yeah, I mean you were just about.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Into Moody's range, I mean what he'd shown you tonight,
and you go for the downs.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Exit out about a Fresco exit. Swallendome have more on
this game coming up, but straight ahead, boy, it is
time I'm for the Yankees to look in the mirror
after what was said today by Juan Soto at his
introductory press conference to the Mets. That's next, right here,
Jason to Mike Fox.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Oh no, this might be my favorite one now, it's
so good Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Harmon. Here right now, getting down
to the two minute warning on Thursday Night Football. The
Rams with a huge three point lead over the Niners
(34:55):
right now, nine to six, uh two O nine to
go in the fourth quarter seems insurmountable. Forty nine Ers
just used their first time out in a second down
and seven for the Rams again. After this play, we'll
have either time out two minute warning, so it's still
a little bit ways to go. But the Rams are
on the thirty five yard line of the Niners. If
they get a field goal, that would that's like an
(35:15):
irregular game having like a three touchdown lead because it's
you know, nine to six. So I'll have more on
this coming up as we continue. But today Juan Sodo
met the public for the first time as in New
York met twenty two Jersey. It was great. It was
so awesome to see. It was fantastic, and a lot
of the conversation was about the Yankees and how the
(35:38):
Yankees lost out on Juan Soda, and Sodo had the
best answer that really takes everything into account. He said,
the Yankees did everything they could. That was his answer.
Why did you go to the end with? He goes
the Yankees did everything they could? I mean, well, well, yeah,
(36:00):
except for Aaron Judge calling him, his teammates talking to him,
giving me the suite I asked for. You know all
that the Yankees did everything they could. Now, is he
saying good things about the Yankees? Sure? Is he trying
to be classy? Sure? But bottom line is the Yankees
come out with a really good offer. He could have stayed,
the money was just about the same. He chose the
Mets over the Yankees. And I know the Yankees are
(36:21):
still in shock because they pivoted to a Hey, let's
sign a thirty year old starting pitcher to an eight year,
two hundred and twenty million dollar contract, even though Max
Fried is pretty good. Let's go make an investment that
never turns out. Right, The Yankees are in shock. This
is the biggest Yankees look in the mirror moment that
we have seen. And this is a team coming off
the World Series. How did we just lose a guy
(36:43):
we traded for, who had a great year, who was
happy to be here, who we got to the World
Series with, and we lose him to the team across
town that has been our little brother since they came
into existence in nineteen. This is we have to look
in the mirror and say, are we really doing what
(37:06):
we can? Are we as strong a franchise as we
think we are? And the answer is no. Because Soto says,
Sodo chose the Mets, right? Why did he choose the Mets?
Everything the Mets said. They gave him the money he wanted,
they gave him the suite that he wanted. They talked
about taking care of his family. The Mets knew this
is how we're gonna go win over Juan Soto. And
(37:27):
it's what I always say about when you can get
really excited about your teams, when the three most important
positions on your team are filled with really good people
and nets owner GM slash President of operations, and then
manager slash head coach. When you are strong with those three,
you're gonna be able to do whatever you want. You're
gonna be able to get free agents, You're able to
(37:48):
sell them on anything. And Jan Soto was sold on
the Mets vision. He thinks the Mets will be better
for the next fifteen years than the Yankees. Think about that,
Think about how fast that turned. Because Steve Cohen had
won Soto to his home two or three times. In fact,
Cohen had the great quote yesterday saying, I told Wan Soto,
we can't keep meeting like this. I'm running out of
houses to meet you in right. So he needs him love,
(38:11):
David Stearns love the message going out. They knew exactly
how to recruit him. Hey, we care about you, we
care about your family. We're gonna do all of this
with you. And was there a little bit of a
rough patch with the Yankees with soda when it came
to hey, we're not gonna give you a suite. Okay,
did you have a little bit of something with a
couple of family members at one time last year? Yeah,
but it's still the Yankees, right, still, Yay, They're still
(38:33):
gonna take care. He's still going to give you everything
you wanted. But he chose the Mets because of the
way they are structured. And I know the Yankees got
to the World Series last year, but this is still
we got to look in the mirror and understand if
we're ready for the next few years in Major League Baseball,
because this is a guy that we should have just
walked into his house and he should have said, wears
a pen. Here's the money, wears a pen. And he didn't. Well,
(38:54):
and that's one of the things we always get back
to you. What do they say about grass it's green
on the other side the street. Well, I was waiting,
you know, either for a snoop to chime in or
something along those lines. But the idea that they're over
here and they're trying to lure you to their side
of the street, Come on, come hang out with us.
(39:15):
So what are they gonna do. They're gonna dress up
the houses.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
They're gonna have the decorator come in and make sure
it looks good when you walk in. They're gonna try
to acquiesce and give you everything they want. Oh, by
the way, you've got an owner who's new and young
ish in this business and hungry and all of that.
And you just watched the run that the Mets had
all of that to say Yankees Steinberger, son of Big
(39:40):
Stein Cashman, who we've been talking about for how many
years now of have they outrun their their their usefulness
right in terms of do you need to change up
how you approach business again. They get to the World Series,
that's great. They you can't dismiss that. But some bumps
along the way, some decision and some heartaches and all
(40:01):
of those kind of things. Aaron Boone, is he the guy?
Is he not the guy? All of those questions that
are there for the Mets. It's all new, it's all building,
it's all gaining momentum. So yeah, it's it's a little
easier when you've got Scott Boris and he's able to
get you all the little extra things.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
Because again we talked about it a little bit yesterday
about contract rioters and all these different things. Right, you
want to go buy a new house, it's the hey,
can I can get a credit for that? Right, you're
gonna agree to the credit on that. Okay, Now we're
feeling good, and that's what the Mets were doing. It
was all just here's all the things we gotta want.
There was no no question you're in versus. Look, we're
(40:41):
the Yankees. That was the pitch. You're the Yankees. You
gotta look in the mirror and say, are we still
the Yankees? Are we still up to what it takes
to get that kind of free agent? And the answer
is that just stand enough. Twenty seven don't matter. The
same exit out about a Fresco exits fallen down. More
from the thrilling conclusion of TNF Next.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
On It Run. This is now my favorite Christmas song,
He's my favorite holiday song. Come on, Grandma, come on,
give me a little give a little bit of Kirk Hammick,
come on a little bit of air guitar.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
For whom Christmas tolls time marches on.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Come on, Grandma, come on, Oh getting the fast laying Grandma.
The Bengo game is getting ready to roll. Haven't heard
that one in a while? Nicely done. The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon live from the tire Rag dot
Com Studios. The Rams knock off the forty nine ers
twelve to six in the rain in San Francisco, and
(41:59):
look at them becoming the team that no one wants
to play. Joining us now on the hotline. Nobody better
and unbelievably great to hear his voice tonight NFL on
Fox Insider Extraordinary Jay Glazer, Jay, I know, I'm so
glad to hear you're okay. I know you had to
evacuate the fires in Malibu. How are your family?
Speaker 3 (42:21):
Man? We're doing great, man. I appreciate it and the
amount of love. I can't tell you a number of
people who offered us their homes literally from all over
the league, and people like man like my Fox family
went so far above me on for me to make
sure we are good. And the crazy thing is again
(42:44):
is we got you know, we like Rosian and I
went to bed and we lost all power and inclusion.
They cut the cell service here, so man all around
us who was raging fires like like like end of
days was crazy. We didn't know. We got the next
day take our dog out good, you know, to go
to bathrooms. And then obviously we show off smoke and
(43:04):
smell it and everything, and we have no power. We
figured out we better evacuate and get out of here.
But it took us like twenty five minutes to get
to where we had service. By the time we got services,
like sixty eight messages from people like are you okay?
Please tell us you're great, and like I said, the
Fox family, just like, tell us you're okay, tell us
you're alive. Like I didn't realize how bad it was
(43:26):
because we had no service. The crazier part and we
had all these calls from the city of Malibu demanding
that we evacuate at three o'clock in the morning or
how are we supposed to know if you cut ourself service? Right,
you know what I mean? So it's kind of like crazy,
and they got to figure out a better system because
they're like, hey, go online, Well we got there is
no one live for us, so you know, the again
(43:48):
the Firemen here, man, I think fifteen homes got it
pretty bad and seven percent contained. It could have been
a lot worse. And for the second time in the month,
the Firemen had the best game plan of any team
on the planet. There was just just incredible, absolutely incredible.
Speaker 1 (44:05):
Oh man, well, we're so glad. You're say glad the
family is safe. That's awesome. I know, Fireman a better
game plan than Sean McVay. Sean McVay, I mean Jay
winning by They can score forty five and win. They
can score twelve and win in the rain. There's not
a lot Sean McVay and the Rams can't do.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
It's funny that Shawn and I always talk after every game, right,
and you know, especially I really got in the habit
of calling him after every loss when he was struggling
with different things. I always call my friends after they
lose because nobody else does. And you know, I think
that's when you got to step up for your people.
So he calls after the game last week, I'm like, here,
bro this and he's like, dude, how He literally said,
(44:42):
how hard was it with that alien? We had to play?
Josh Allen? But I said, this needs to be your bait.
Fine from now on, like your player has got to
know And I think I told you that earlier that
that I was talking to Sean earlier in the year, Like, hey, dude,
when the Cavalry comes back of the Pookaud Cooper and
all these guys they back offensive line, then they start
coming back, You're gonna find a couple of gangsters in
(45:05):
the asses here and that's how you have to sell it,
and all of a sudden your team will be a
lot more successful. But you got some guys that you
didn't know that Rosey hashes. But man, that's exactly what
it was last week. I'm like, this has to be
the base five on this team. If you beat King
Kong and you guys took King Kong to the break
in week one with the Lions, whateverywhere is hurt? That
(45:25):
has to be these players baseline and there can't be
an excuse anymore for these in consistent games. So this game,
in my opinion, was even more important than last week
to see if those guys would believe it and step
up with the consistency.
Speaker 4 (45:39):
And they did well, that's a big the gutsiness of
this game. They got nothing from Cooper Cup Jay, he
had Zeros.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
Right, absolutely right, that's I'm saying. But other guy steps up,
and that's what the winning team does when we get
this guy, When we get that guy this week? Is
that guy exactly right? And I think, you know San Francis, Hey,
we're gonna be so we take Cooper White, right, we
stee we can do with Tuka. But that's exactly right.
And by the way, no one's talking about Chris Shula,
the defensive coordinator who holds San Francisco to six points?
(46:10):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 1 (46:11):
One hundred and ninety one yards? Now? Jay? For the
forty nine ers part of this, Now, they went all
in on the season. They got like nine guys making
fifteen million dollars and here they are outside looking into
the playoffs and likely the playoffs is a pipe dream
for them. Now? Was it the injuries? Was it? Was
it just one of those years? What was it for
San Francisco?
Speaker 3 (46:31):
Injury for that, no doubt? Injuries and injuries And I
think you know, you had a lot of stuff going on,
the holdouts for you know, the receiver.
Speaker 5 (46:37):
And for Trent Williams and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
Now, but it's injuries with when you're people.
Speaker 5 (46:43):
Could say, well, we can't use injuries and excuse.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
When all your best players are out. It's injuries. You
got the reason why you pay Christo McCaffrey and Trent
Williams and Yuk and Purty and all these guys and
all of a sudden and Nick Posa, they're all hurt.
If you're playing with your JV, you're not gonna win
the barsity Games.
Speaker 4 (47:04):
Jason Smith Show with Me, Mike carbon Here, Fox Sports Radio,
on the Hotline with Us longtime friend of the show,
Our Guy, NFL on Fox Broadcasting, Hall of Fame, The
Unbreakable Performance Center, and obviously the podcast at Jay Glazer
is where you find him in the Twitter verse.
Speaker 1 (47:22):
Jay with us here.
Speaker 4 (47:23):
Uh, Bill Belichick, you had the Patriot three in studio.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
And then you you've made Brady go to work. At
the end of Fox NFL send ushered him out the
door to bully there you go, Yeah, you where that one?
Now you're you're in charge. You're the guy that decided
you're you're taking a back. You did something nobody could
do in the NFL for twenty years. You bullied Tom
(47:47):
Brady around Like that's brilliant. There's that personalized autograph photo
going up to my bully. All right, Bill Belichick now
going to the University of North Carolina. Those guys chuckling
it up on Sunday. I'm sure you guys discussed this
one quite a bit. What are your thoughts on this one? Jay?
Speaker 3 (48:07):
Man, we still can't figure it out, not just Man, Yes,
me and everybody in the league have been talking about it,
and everybody has their series why but we're like, I
can't really say what we've been saying.
Speaker 4 (48:26):
Okay, thanks for keeping the FCC license for us there,
Jay exactly.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
But it's also like, Man, yes he does want to coach,
no doubt, but it was an interesting broove kind of
going to the fourth best team in the ACC. And
unless you're like, hey, I just love Chapoel Hill. I
want to be there. And obviously his dad was there.
Maybe he that's something there, But I can't say it
didn't make sense because I'm not Bill Belichick. Like, but
(48:55):
maybe good for one guy, it's not good for me.
Well maybe good for me, he's not good for you,
you know. So it was we're all kind of looking
at it, but I will tell you that we're all
sitting there show. We're like, there's no way, there's no
way he's gonna sit there at some recruits cous trying
to get him to go to the North Carolina of
all places, right and there he does it.
Speaker 1 (49:15):
Well, what were you hearing, Jay? What was the interest
level in Belichick? Potentially this off season as getting back?
Speaker 3 (49:21):
They went up for Arthur Smith first, who's the of
from the coordinator of Pittsburgh, and he don't want it.
And I know those two talked about it. I do
know that belts that call him are like, hey, tell
me why they want it and stuff, and I think
I just Argum wants to be in the pros. But also,
like when you talk to people about the NIL, it's
kind of everybody says the same thing. Like I do
(49:43):
have friends to coaching college. They say, it's crazy. It's
the wild West. You have these agents who aren't really
agents so like the old runners back in the day,
and are taking ten percent for these kids, you know,
and it's just there's nothing that's like, there's no regulation.
It's the wild West. And that's why I got like
Kelly stepped out of head coach the UCLA Go be
(50:04):
An Dolphins coordinator, like I just want to coach. I
don't want to deal with this stuff. But for billit
he's going into that stuff. And so I've talked to
friends of his last week. I was like, Bro, there's
no way he's going to do it because he's not
gonna want to deal with his new wild wild West.
But I guess he did because he wants to live
in chop Wells.
Speaker 5 (50:20):
For whatever reason.
Speaker 1 (50:22):
Yeah, I can't wait to see, you know.
Speaker 4 (50:24):
He says it's not a four hundred page manifesto that
he brought to it, so folks are joking it might
be four oh two that it's the the actual pages,
uh and like the all that, but just the curiosity
in this process that we haven't seen more coaches I
guess dismissed and he didn't want to play the waiting
game like we're all trying to play armchair psychologist all
(50:46):
on man.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
But also like it's not like he went for like
he went for way less than you get in the NFL. Yeah,
so that part too, And it's not all guaranteed, but
buyouts not really a lot. Just it's just got up for.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
Plexing Glazer with us here the Jason Spitzer with Mike Carmon.
All right, now we got to get to Aaron Rodgers. Jay, uh,
you know you had the report on Sunday. Nobody knows
the injury he's been playing through all year long. And
then he kind of got a little upset at his presidentality.
Speaker 3 (51:14):
He didn't blamed it like he got upset, but have
you seen it?
Speaker 1 (51:18):
He get set well every when he cursed a little
bit and said, knowing the stuff about his body, he's cool.
Everything is cool.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
He said he I don't know blank about his body,
but he did say Jay came out and give him
a great speech.
Speaker 1 (51:29):
He did not speech.
Speaker 3 (51:31):
Yeah, I did great. He and I are actually texting Jerry,
and he's right. I was wrong about what I said
because it was worse than what I said.
Speaker 1 (51:41):
Whoa, whoa.
Speaker 4 (51:44):
So that's why he said, okay, okay, he only knows
the happy thing, just the other thing. As much as
we talked to you know, the Tom Brady and bullying
him and making sure he got to his game on
properly social media. I mean, you are a guy that
sticks up to your friends, as we saw Andrew Whitworth
having his cake and while wearing them the coat and hoodie.
Speaker 3 (52:06):
Damn m I do actually him straining anybody. I'll stand
up for all my boys. And it's like, people say
what they want about me, and I'm Rosie. You know.
It's like, but the problem with.
Speaker 5 (52:14):
With this plodet right now is too many people listening.
Speaker 3 (52:17):
I understand it. Part of my thay with mental health
is that hurt people, hurt people.
Speaker 5 (52:22):
Everyone's trying to hurt everybody else.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
So he try and hurt my friends. I'm gonna smash you,
and that's what's happening. And I don't think that people
just thinking I'm successful doesn't mean that you could have
at it with me. No, I'm not gonna do that.
I'm not gonna do that. Like you're saying stuff about
people there are savages. We're not playing that game anymore.
I'm not doing that anymore. So I know I'm not
supposed to punch down and all that stuff, But I'm
(52:45):
also not just going to sit there when you talk
smash about my wife and call it racial slurk or
say something about Whitworth on his birthday, we talk about
stray and being unpatriotic and not being a military guy
when he grew up in a freaking army base.
Speaker 5 (52:58):
I'm not doing that anymore.
Speaker 3 (52:59):
I'm just not doing it. So that's really who I
am in it for years it's like, oh, you know it,
teach you as you get to a higher level, don't
say stuff you don't punch.
Speaker 5 (53:07):
Down but you're too.
Speaker 3 (53:08):
I'm successful doesn't mean that people should be able to
say whatever they want about me. I'm successful not because
I got lucky, because I worked my ass off and
got rejected more than any human being on the planet
to get here. So it's not who I am. I'm
a fighter. I'm a fight back, especially if you're talking
about my friends and that's just man loyalties and dying
art gang. It's a really really loft art and that all.
(53:31):
I'm not supposed to get a sad about this stuff,
and that's to tell them what they want. But it's
not okay if you say stuff about the people that
I love.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Great stuff from Jay Glazer, and I want to just
say this, Jay, I want to know a little bit
at least about what you said in your speech to
the Jets, because they're three and ten, so I.
Speaker 3 (53:50):
Mean it was the vessel speed was about you know
what it love guys, about mental health. It was a
beautiful thing about really about sticking together. And I told
these guys I've gotten brought in to talk to teams
for twenty years about violence. And I say that because
I was the second, was one of the first guys
they got in the second guy of fight in the NFL,
(54:10):
and Bob Shop was the first, and I may have
been the second. And back in two thousand and three,
and then I started coaching guys, and because Fox, then
we stopped fighting, and then I stayed. Fighting is professionally
Mick martial arts, and I've done it for a long time.
But the way we train guys and our players and
our fighters, if you're hurt and tired, you will never
ever ever know. And we are relentless, like we just
(54:35):
go forward and go forward, and go forward and go forward.
And you watch our fighters and players. You watch Lane Johnson,
You'll never know. You watched Andrew Whitworth, you never know.
You watch these you know from the We' about a
thousand of these guys. But like my partner is Randy Gautour,
dude broke his arm and half in the heavyweight Championship
in the World against Gabrol Gonzaga. You didn't know and
(54:57):
ended up realizing, shoot, I better not show it. If
I do, I'm going to lose my belt and tap
the dude out before the end of the round. And
I said, you need that in football and fighting. And
that's right overse talk guys, and I've got brought in
to teach just the teams how to impose your will
on people with some breakable mindset. Now we need that
in a cage in the field. But it's the same
(55:19):
exact mindset off the field or outside of the cage.
It's got people like me to want to throw ourselves
off the damn bridge or crawl up in the field
position in our bedroom, and got me to suffer in
silence in the middle of the night for years to
struggle and now and you need them both. You need
to one unbreakable mindset for the field of the case.
(55:40):
But now this new mindset over here, and I tell
these guys, you've got to start leaning into each other,
open up each other. Now this vulnerability, man, figure how
much closest must make you as a team. And now
we do suffer, and we struggle more than we ever
have before because of social media and because the pressure
from family, and because it's just where we are.
Speaker 5 (56:01):
And the faintness of the social media, and.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
If you lean into each other, I say, God, you've
got to start taking it more, go actively. If you
guys don't just run forwardies and catch pass and you
have the drops. We do it all the time. We
only go see a therapist when the sky's falling, and
that's too late. So we got to start being proactive
about it. But it's not a therapist here. You think
they're about that. There are. And you've got ninety six
(56:25):
in his room right here on your right and your left.
If you live with each other right here, think out
how much closes it will make you as a team.
And listen. The Jets record sucks, but their fight has
not stopped. And that is a testament to that they
do live eat each other. It's a beautiful thing, man.
And the teams I've talked to, they all got a
lot of fight. And I hope everybody out there realize it.
(56:45):
And and the other thing that's all them. I've now
figured to weigh to take all my mental health issues.
And I've told them this says, I'm going to describe
everything with mental health view what the persson feels like anxiety,
ADHD bipollet all of it. Now, figure it out to
weaponize them all. And if you figure out where you're superpower,
(57:05):
then you're not a shamed by him anymore. And that's
the biggest difference for me, because I was ashamed for
so many years and I hit it with I get in
an adderall and alcohol and going out and causing trouble
and act like a fool. And now I can call
my brothers and I can call my friends. I can
lean into these people, and these people who were friends
have become brothers to me because of this, and that's
(57:27):
what builds a champion. And that's that was talk then,
And we had a real, real, real vulnerable talk and
dudes there open up about stuff they never would open
up about before. And it was so brave for them
to open up in front of a hundred other people
and for everybody to get up in the room and like, Yo,
we got to you, bro, we got you. And that's
what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get eybody
to understand that's the new manly stuff.
Speaker 1 (57:48):

I let him up and he gave us five minutes
of the speech. I'll let him off the hook for
the Jets being three and ten. But now we know
that he'll cut him and Rogers are okay. They were
(58:34):
texting about stuff today about that he doesn't know. He
doesn't know, Blake about my body. It was worse. It
was worse, It was worse. He doesn't just think about that.
That's a different Now we're sitting there going all right,
