(00:48):
com is the way tire buying should be. Wait a second,
what do you got, Frostberg. Well, part of the show
is recorded. All of Harmon's parts are recorded. AI Harmony Yeah, yeah,
it's a I Harmon.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah yeah, Ar Harmon comes to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, that's wow. Harmon hasn't been in. I don't people
know this. Harmon hasn't really been in for two and
a half years. We just keep running all kinds of
life stuff kind of like Lebron. Yeah, taking some time away,
take some time away. You see he's out tomorrow night
for the game, taking time day. Oh what Darren Waller
(01:31):
is saying at the time. Day it's no good.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Look, man, there's lots of stuff swirling about Lebron. Although
Bronny had a big game.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Right, Yeah, thirty thirty seven the Jason Smith Show with
Mike Carbon we'll have more basketball on the way and
yeah that that Lebron's situation is getting more and more
interesting by the day, taking time away, taking time. But
we watch a close game tonight in the NFL. I
(02:04):
always want to be real. I don't want to lie.
We watched a close game tonight in the NFL. Always
good with the Rams and the forty nine ers. It
was close. Yep, it came down to the end. That's it.
That's all we get asked for, and the Rams won.
Your Rams. Do you think, first of all, do you
think al Michaels is thinking things again? Because it was
(02:25):
announced yesterday that he's gonna come back next year. You know,
he was more invigorated by the TNF slate this year
and how great it was. And then he says, yeah,
I'm coming back.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
I love Thursday night football. I love Kirkurbstreet. And then
we get this snooze fest of a twelve to six game.
Maybe I did something. There was one game too early,
there was one month day too early.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
He taunted the football gods, and that's what he got
for a tough fought divisional matchup that finished, Oh, I
don't know, thirty points under the over under of forty eight.
So that's what we get. A lot of miscues, a
lot of near misses. Both quarterbacks in the first half
(03:06):
are very thankful that guys were converted to cornerbacks, i e.
They can't catch, which helped me quite a bit. Sure,
really helped their stat line and kept them in the game. Now,
this is a tale of two teams. What they have
going on right now, Let's do the Rams first. The
Rams win in again. Look the Rams winning the game
that it was raining, it was a defensive struggle, and
(03:31):
they now moved within a half game of first place
in the NFC West.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
And I'll buy. By the way, I don't want to
say this, but I feel like you need to remember
I picked the Rams and go to the Super Bowl
as my pregas and Super Bowl pick with the Rams
now here they are, right here they are. And this
doesn't mean that suddenly they're the favorites in the NFC.
It would be realistic with you about it, even though
I picked them to go to the Super Bowl. But yes,
the Lion's so the best team in the NFC. The
(03:57):
Eagles are right there despite all the controversy and dysfunction
there there. But the Rams have officially become they're the
team nobody wants to play. And you're they're gonna wind
up in the playoffs because they finish their schedule next week,
they got they got a mini buy. Now they're at
the Jets. Good luck. Uh, And then it's home for
the Cardinals and then home for the Seahawks. And I
(04:20):
guarantee you it'll come down to that game on the
fifth against the Seahawks for the NFC West title. The Rams,
if they win as long as they're within a game,
will win the title because they will have beaten the
Seahawks twice. So I fully expect the Rams to win
the division and to be in the and be the
team nobody wants to play. Now, why is this there's
a lot because there's teams that are really good that.
You know, men, this is going to take our best
(04:41):
effort to win again. The Lions and the and the Eagles.
And then there are teams that, hey, I look forward
to playing them in the playoffs. I'd look forward to
playing the Commanders in the playoffs and seeing, Yeah, we've
seen Jayden Daniels really look bad against really good teams.
I'm okay playing the Commanders. Oh, I'm okay playing the Vikings.
I'm excited know what we can do against Sam Donald
in the first round of the plays. Let's see out
(05:03):
for real, Sam Donald is. There's teams you're okay playing,
and then there's teams yet you know, boy, this is
gonna be difficult. And then there's the teams that nobody
wants to play. And that's where the Rams are because
they're hot and they can beat you anyway. The Rams
just won a game four days ago, score in forty
four points. Four days later they win a game, winning
twelve six. They can put all kinds of points up
(05:24):
on the scoreboard. They can win a big defensive battle, right,
they can win any kind of game. And that scares you.
That's because hey, we go on the road all of
a sudden it's not a big disadvantage for us. We
can go on the road and win being games. We
can win games at home. It doesn't matter. Any kind
of game you want to play. We can let it
the scoreboard, we can make it a defensive struggle in
a field goal game. And Sean McVay is always going
(05:45):
to out coach the other guy because that's the big
thing the Rams have going for them. We don't talk
about as much we talk about Kyle Shanahan and all
the different up head Andy Reid, we don't talk enough
about Sean McVay, who continues to reinvent the Rams, and
I think he gets washed up through injury now, through
injuries and through to and finds a way every year
(06:06):
at the end of the year. It's hey, man, watch out.
The Rams are really really good. Any anything you go through,
and they went through a lot of injuries this year,
but anything they go through the end of the year, boy,
watch out, the Rams are really dangerous. You don't want
there the other team. Nobody wants to play in the playoffs.
And I'll just end with this with the Rams. You
know I picked them and go to the super No
you did before the season again, Okay, yeah, no, I
I agree with a lot of that. The McVeigh not
(06:28):
getting enough love. My god, I think there's an instant
somebody talks about Nobody talks about mcvagh enough, Andy Reid,
Mike Tomlin. There's all the guys, Nick Sirianni. I mean,
but not in a positive way. But these are the
guys that get talked about more than Sean.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
I do my best to just get away from like
when you and I aren't doing this and you know
I need some news items that we're looking into for
the show and actually watching games. I do my best
to avoid, you know, the hot takery and whatever. No,
Sean McVay has got his own. People have shrines to him,
so I don't want to hear it, right, I can't
(07:06):
avoid it anyway. The point being that this was a
game that, look, it was not aesthetically pleasing unless you
just want to see where there might be on one
piece of chaos that finds its way in the mix.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Both quarterbacks got away with some bad throws. You got the.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Brock Purty interception where he changed his trajectory to shoot
the ball over the top of the oncoming rusher and
that ends up leading to a pick which was going
to be a near impossible throw as he tried to
get it down the sideline to Jennings and double coverage.
So that was gonna need pinpoint precision and was probably
destined to fail. But it might not have been as
(07:47):
easy a pick without the change and the loft that
he ended up putting on the ball. All that to say,
they find a way, and that's the curiosity as we
get to the final four weeks of the season. You've
got two more division games. You've got the Jets game, right,
they got three more, so the game against Seattle. I mean,
you'll be sad if Gino Smith's the guy to send
(08:10):
the Rams home and vanquish your Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Gene, no, Geene really Okay, okay, time out for sure,
I have a time out for one second. Do you
really think in the list of embarrassing things for the Jets,
Gino Smith playing well is in the top fifty? Come on, man,
not at all, But like it still gets you a
little bit now in the deep is good for a
couple of years now, man, It's not only it took
him ten years. That's why I'm like, it's not the
(08:33):
Jets fault. He was ten years in the league before.
Oh I'm in the right system.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
I would take credit for it that you really had
to tear him down so someone else could build him
back up. All of that to say, the for the Rams,
they run the ball well, right, Williams goes over.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
One hundred yards tonight.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
He now is now calling the Rams the big brother
of the forty nine ers because they swept the season.
So all right, good run with that as you will,
Matthew Stafford. Actually they called a play for him to
run the ball. Now it ended up in a holding penalty.
But you tell me that didn't get a lot of
people to stand up out of their chairs, going, wait,
(09:12):
this is this is absolute chaos at.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Its finest, Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Rushing it down, not a scramble, not a scramble, a call,
not a game, not a game.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Designed run practice. We're talking about practice. The other thing.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
We led through all of that, right, the forty four
the defense, the McVeigh, all of that. Cooper Cup had
zero catches for zero your herds tonight. They did everything
they could do it race him, and then Rams still
win a game. Look, that's the one that really needs
(09:48):
to I mean, the forty nine ers did have to
deal with a guy quitting on them.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
So I mean you got that going, didn't you tell
everybody in the in the I watch your Flex podcast. Hey,
start Cooper Cumming, start tonight. No, I must. If you
can start one wide receiver, start Cooper cup.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
If you can start one guy tonight. If you go
see one movie this weekend, make sure it's yeah. No,
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
They're gonna come for you like the Hawk Tour girl.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
But well, no, I have not produced a meme coin
and defrauded people because people millions going on twenty five years,
and thank you very much America and the and the Globe. Now, hey,
but if I get you to do what I say
in a fantasy lineup, I did my job, then they.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Have to go do theirs. I did my job. I
do it again. You know, the anniversary of the movie's
released yesterday, thirty two years. Yeah, thirty two years. You know,
you know Pam always gets upset. We watch FUGA Men
all the time when it's on. She always gets set
and says, you know, this always gets me. He knows.
He can't say he ordered the code red. Sorry spoiler,
(10:56):
he knows he can't say it. He knows, he knows.
That's why he is there. He is, he is that,
he is one of the highest ranking people in the
lives right. His star is on the rise. He knows
he can't say he ordered the Code red. I get,
and I get and she goes and I get that
that was the whole plan and Tom cruise, that was
Daniel Caffey's plan. We're gonna do it. They all tell him, no, no, no,
he's too smart, he's too smart.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
Do it.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
He knows, he knows he can't say it, and yet
he says it. And yet he said, I mean, he
knows the one thing you can't say. Okay, great, all right, great,
that's like it's like the scene from Gardens of Galaxy
too Okay, but grew, don't press that button. I am
groot No, no, no, not the red button. Press this one.
No no, no, not the red button. I am groot no,
(11:38):
not that button. I mean, that's I mean, that's that's
what it is. Just didn't have to say you ordered
the code red. Just don't say it's what the movie ended. There.
Where's actually going again, Court Marship.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
They take him out in cuffs. Didn't see this. Wow,
didn't see that coming up? Tests so well, then they
arrest Kevin Pollock, they arrested me more and Kevin Bacon's flipping.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Them off as they go out of the courtroom.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I told you darn shooting a jump shot as they
walk them off. Told Jim you saying you're a lousy
basketball player too, Jack.
Speaker 1 (12:16):

I would not put it past them to actually say, hey,
(14:05):
we should have creed the Christmas album and it's all
these old songs to all these Christmas songs. I would
love that people would buy it. People would buy it.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Do you realize how bad Christmas music is? But it's
so simple that you can literally take any song and
added tambourine to it.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Yeah, let's say Christmas songs. That's why the holiday concerts
at schools are so easy. Oh holiday, and I could
just sit here and creative stuff. This is creative. Anna's
got the whole year to be creative. This is what
we got. This is creative. Hey, wait till you hear
the rock around the Christmas treat with arms wide open.
That's fantastic. Theybourine. That's all you need to do. It
(14:48):
has added up Tracy Partridge from the Party Trail. Look,
I gotta claning millennials do the partry trail? Like, where
the hell's the cow bell?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
I need more cawb you need Hey, there's pre sale
right now for a in August date for Creed.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
If you guys want to go out to the desert,
we go to that Creek concert while we wearing gold
plated diapers. What does that mean? I have a question.
Jason Smith on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Come on, it's the Summer of ninety nine tour with Mammoth,
a Wolfgang Van Halen, Memth Okay, three Doors down.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Oh wow, and Creed, how is that not? Like Mammoth
just is like the group is like five.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Years to seven years old and now the guns and
Roses when I saw.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
It has been for around like a while, Jason, great
ski spot. Yeah, yeah that's true. Yeah, it's it's all
songs about ski slopes. Yeah that's what it is. Yeah,
you around for a while.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
Worth powder, real smooth. Now skiing down the mountain fair,
I hate you. Ride upon a tea bar, jump off
at the end and have some Coco when not warm
up by the fire. I lost my ski in the woods.
(16:05):
This is my nightmare.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Oh hot Coca, and I want there are more songs
about hot Coco. Just odes to Coco, Mike, I guarantee
you there are.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
I'm gonna start an AI songwriter and I have a
day Day T.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Shirt's gonna play tomorrow night. What do you kill?
Speaker 3 (16:23):
I'm sure, Mike, there's a song about being in love
with the Coca, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
I'm in love with Okay. So we'll hear from Jay
Laser coming up in a couple of minutes, because uh,
he's got the latest on this whole big controversy with
Aaron Rodgers. This week. Oh yeah, John had some pointed thoughts.
Jay was on the show tonight. He told us everything
going on with his scoopage on Sunday and Rogers being hurt,
(16:50):
and Rogers cursing at the press conference yesterday saying what
does Jay Glazer know about my body? We'll have that
coming up in a few minutes. But speaking of controversy,
it is ten to twenty five Pacific time, and Devondre
Campbell is still a forty nine er, at least as
far as we know. The biggest controversy coming off of
this game. We'll have more than forty nine ers coming
(17:12):
up in a few minutes, but from a wider angle lens.
But they played this game tonight against the Rams, and
in the third quarter, Drake Greenlaw got hurt, and Devondre
Campbell's a guy that maybe you're heard of, maybe you haven't.
He's a guy wh's been in the league for the
last you know, seven years or so, and he was
(17:33):
playing when Greenlaw's hurt. Now green Law's back healthy and
he's green Law's terrific player. So Devondra Campbell's not playing
as much. But third quarter Greenlaw got hurt. Kyle Shanahan
of the forty nine ers, wanted Devondre Campbell to go
into the game, said he didn't feel like playing. Said blank,
you didn't feel like playing, Try to put me in
(17:57):
a game, and I said, no, no, no. Can you
add a tambourine to that. You get a tambourine to anything,
it make it work. I ain't playing in the third
churter so and there's video of him you see during
the game, him walking off the field, and I don't
quite know what the play by play said about it
because they were doing the show, but there's a video
of him walking off the field, not playing. And before
(18:19):
you think there's some kind of there could be something
out there we don't know about now. There always could.
But you've seen his teammates George Kittle, right, Mooney Ward Alta.
Kyle Shanahan said, Hey, the guy just didn't want to play,
and Mooney Ward said, the guy's gonna be cut any day.
What does it matter. George Kittle is mad, and I
really I can't believe the guy is going to be
(18:40):
a forty nine or twelve hours from now, because as
upset as you are with your situation with the team,
and I get that in life, not everything goes your way.
Not everything goes your way at work, right when I
say a couple hours ago, hey, sometimes you love a
job that doesn't love you back, right, And I can't
believe he's be not playing or not playing as much
(19:01):
as you should.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
So okay, right, I understand that. But that's had a
nice little run too. He's playing out a one year deal.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
He had a five year, fifty million dollar deal that
he signed a couple of years ago. He got cut
in in in and signed with the forty nine ers
in March. But I get that. I understand that part
of it. But that is a in lieu of a
better phrase. That is a Monday through Saturday problem. When
it's Sunday and the game is going on, you play, right,
(19:30):
This happened to be Thursday night. But you got what
I'm saying, uh, Because then it's about more than you.
You've decided. These guys I'm on the field with, I'm
so up for whatever reason, I don't want to play.
I'm letting them down. I'm letting the coaching staff down,
I'm letting the fans down, letting me the effect career.
I'm embarrassing family name not even for yourself, but just think.
(19:51):
But that's the one day where it's okay, this is
about more than just mean a lot to a lot
of people, right, And they were fighting. This is the
most important game of the year for them. They had
to win tonight to stay in the playoff race. Weren't
done right, They're done all right, this is the biggest
game of the year. And instead now in the third quarter, okay, well,
(20:14):
who's not playing well? All right? Campbell won't go in.
What are we gonna do here? I mean, this guy
quit in the middle of a game like Antonio brandis.
If they didn't go off with no shirt on through
the end zone waving it, fans just walked off the field.
No matter how bad things are, you gotta play. You
gotta play. You got to show up to work. And
when it's time to turn the lights on, that's when
(20:35):
you have to put everything behind you for the next
three or four hours, whatever it is, and say, Okay,
I gotta do the best thing, the best I can
do here, because not about me, it's about everybody else.
And then when that's over, I can turn the light,
I can flip the light back off and be upset
and be that whatever I want to be for the
other six days, but when it's time for the game,
I gotta play. If you didn't feel like playing, should
(20:55):
have told the team before the game. They could have
at least had a little bit to elevate somebody or
or make some sort of move, or say, hey, let's
do this plan at least a little bit that if
something happens, who's gonna come in and play? If Greenlaw
gets hurt, if they need somebody somewhere, whatever it is.
And he failed to do that, and there's no sympathy
for someone like that, because this was about more than
(21:18):
just you, and you let everybody down. I mean that
that's a thing by saying not going into a game
when they needed you. These guys put their bodies on
the line through so much, and how many of these
guys are playing through personal tragedy that they've had, They've
lost people. Ricky Pearsall was shot. You know, you talked
about this last hour. A lot of these guys of
Law Mooney Ward lost a kid a month and a
(21:39):
half ago, and he's playing football, and you just you
didn't feel like playing, Like I don't know, I don't
I don't know. How you even walk into the locker
room after that, I don't know how you do it.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
I don't know that he did. You're seeing all the
commentary George Kittle quote. I've never been around someone who
quits on their team, and I hope I'm never around
a guy like that again.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
And so part of me is.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
All right, let's get the other stories. Whatever was going
on in the background. Right, five straight weeks of at
least five tackles, Campbell had been playing pretty well. But
I gotta believe when he was signed, you know, to
a one year deal in March, that he was told, look,
our expectation is Greenlaw's gonna come back. And he was
(22:21):
one of the key cogs of our defense going into
that Super Bowl run and was playing well when he
got hurt and went off the field. So you are
here as support. You'll start, but eventually he's getting cleared
and he's coming back.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Are you good with this agent? Whatever else?
Speaker 2 (22:41):
I can't believe at any point it was oh, yeah,
you're our guy, there's no question about it. And then surprise,
he's coming back. Like you got to be able to
read the tea leaves and the team you know, transparency
and all that, but to get to a point in
the third quarter of a game, playoffs on the line,
home date, all of these things and all the circumstances
(23:01):
for each of these guys that they're gutting out because
every one of them nobody would have faulted them. You
lose a kid, multiple guys that have lost kids in
the last three months, that are figuring out a way,
and sometimes you work through the pain. Right, everybody's done it,
losses and family, change of circumstance, whatever it may be.
You put your head down and nose to the grindstone
(23:24):
and maybe you got a little bit of that, but
all in it's a job that you have to commit
everything to heart, mind, body, soul. And we talked to
so many guys that in their post career realize, wow,
I was able to do that. And the different state
of mind that you have to be in to go
through a season that to decide in week fifteen, you
(23:46):
know what, I just don't think I'm going to go
in in this game, a division game against a rival
at home, out of isolated Thursday night game, fighting for
your playoff lives. This is the time you're going to
do Operation shutdown this. This is the time you're going
to walk out and just say no, I don't think
I will. You went off Captain America, you know, and and.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Look just to obviously look it's a very serious thing,
but just to make it flip, just to just to
throw this because I've been thinking about this because no, no, no,
we'll have Aaron Rodgers, a couples.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
No.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
But you know, it was just a couple of years
ago where we talked about Antonio Brown quitting and never
played in the NFL again. Quitting in the middle of
a game with Tampa against the Jets, where he very
publicly took his pads off, ran through the end zone
with his shirt off. It was incredibly embarrass embarrassing as
you as you could think about. And the Jets are
(24:43):
playing at home and they're winning that game twenty four
to ten, and then Antonio Brown quits. You're up by
two touchdowns and Antonio Brown quits in the middle of
the game, and still the Jets lost. This is the
game where if you bring up the Jets to Brady,
I bet he would say, oh, yeah, man, forget about
all those games with the Patriots. Abe quit in the
(25:04):
middle of the game. We were losing by two touchdowns.
We still beat the Jets, said the Jets. That's hilarious.
The Jets, like, we couldn't even win that game. Couldn't
couldn't win a game. We're up by two touchdowns second half. Guy,
their their number two receiver quits in the middle of
the game. Nope, still lost that game.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Yeah, to be fair, in the last thirty forty I
mean your lifetime, I mean, the winning percentage is and
all that great. So the fact that they would lose that,
I mean, really, just line up another hell.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Amazing Jets you it's time now to find out what's
trending in the wide world of sports from Monci Belanio.
She has all the final scores, she has all the details,
including what happens to her when she goes to Vegas.
We don't need to talk about that, we don't. We
don't Vega a great Vegas story in.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
The kitchen with us in the kitchen, in the kitchen,
even in the kitchen, in the kitchen.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
On the Mets, all right, yeah, talk about gambling gone rock.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
Right, nothing to necessarily do with sports in a sense.
But if you are like on Google, I clicked on
it because I was like, what is that? If you
are on Google, there's like a little like it looks
like an eclipse is going over Google, and if you
click on it, Google will then show you some like
a play button, and if you play it, it gives
you like a three minute video of.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
The top search stuff on Google on YouTube.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
It's actually quite interesting, including Otani's fifty to fifty, like
a bunch of the big stuff that.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Happened throughout the year.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
And if you saw me staring at my computer before
you cut to me, that's what I was looking at.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
It's actually quite crazy. Yes, NFL wee.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Oh man, this is a Wendy cut.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Stop it, stop it sorry U.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
Week fifteen of the NFL kicked off with a bit
of a snooze fest between the Rams and the forty
nine ers. All field goals in the game but LA
one twelve six On the road. Matthew Stafford completed sixteen
of twenty seven passes one hundred and sixty yards.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Brock Party fourteen of thirty one for.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
One hundred and forty two yards, but he had one
crucial interception in the end zone in the fourth quarter
that just went really bad for the forty nine Ers
LA since their bye week is seven and two. In
the Big Story, as you guys were just talking about
linebacker Devondre Campbell not wanting to play and left in
the third quarter for the forty nine Ers, Saints head
coach Darren Rizzy has named Jake Hayner the starting quarterback
for this week's game against the Commanders.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Two Ways star Travis Hunter.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
He was named the AP College Football Player of the Year.
He also won Defensive Player of the Year, Most Outstanding Receiver,
the Walter Camp Player of the Year. Boise State star
Ashton Genty won the Maxwell Award as college football's top player.
He also won the Doak Walker Award for being the
top running back in the country. Miami quarterback cam Ward
was the Davy O'Brien National Quarterback Award winner, and Indiana's
(27:47):
Kurt Signetti was named Coach of the Year. Three games
in the NBA no Jason Tatum, of course, no problem
for the Celtics that were playing the Pistons. One twenty
three to ninety nine was the final score with Boston
on top. Demonte Sabonis another double double thirty two points
twenty one rebounds the King's edge of the Pelicans went
eleven to one oh nine, and the Heat had a
one fourteen to one oh four win over the Raptors
where Bam Aebaio had twenty one points and sixteen rebounds.
(28:10):
In college hoops number three, Iowa State outscored Iowa eighty
nine to eighty and two scores. I'm gonna give you
in NHL because it's the top teams the Golden Knights
though they edged the Jets three to two in overtime,
and the Capitol's top the Blue Jackets to to one
in overtime as well. Guys, it's been fun.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Thanks to you, Thanks a bunch of MONSI I'll lead
in the kitchen.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
Next time and we'll talk more about Vegas.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Fantastic. I like that. I like that. Start figuring out
the party bus. I'll set it up. Yeah, yeah, Okay,
may have a great night. Monzi The Jason Smithson with
Mike Carmen live from the Tirerack dot Com Studios. Uh now,
we want to bring you this audio from Jay Glazer
because the last few days there's kind of been a
thing going on coming off of Jay Glazer's NFL on
(28:53):
Fox Reports Sunday where he said, hey, Aaron Rodgers has
been dealing with all kinds of injuries that people don't
know about.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
This.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
He's been much more injured than people say. This is
brought up to Aaron Rodgers at his weekly press conference yesterday,
and he said, what the blank does Jay Glazer know
about my body? I mean, he's not here unless you
get it from me. You're not getting you know, you're
not getting it. You know the right file. You know,
he wants you to get get the information from him.
So okay, this has been a thing, right So it's
(29:20):
in the New York Post today. It was all over.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Also, he also said he didn't like you know, everybody
talking on ESPN or.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, I got I got aliens
to find himorrow night. So when Jay was on the show,
we brought it up with and said, hey, this whole
thing with Aaron and saying you don't know his body
at all, what's going on here? And listen to the
answer that Jay Glazer gave us. He said he I.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Don't know blank about his body.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
But he did say Jay came out and give him
a great speech.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
He did not speech, Yeah I did great.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
He and I are actually texting to and he's right.
I was wrong about what I said because it was
worse than what I said. Wo, So there would Aaron
Rodgers injured even worse than Jay said. Maybe that's why
Aaron Rodgers was mad. You left out like three injuries.
I've been dealing with you. Ah. Now, look, this is
(30:13):
why I say, right, this is why I say the
Jets are gonna hit the reset button. They're gonna start
over next year, depending on how they finish. Are they
going to be in place to get a top quarterback
in the draft. Probably not, because there's seven or eight
teams with two or three wins. Right, you really need
to see stuff shake out your way, especially when it's
only really Shredur Sanders and cam Ward. So if Rogers
(30:35):
has been this injured, and this is something the Jets
have been monitoring, even if they bring in their new
coach next year, probably Mike Vrabel. This is why when
the whole stuff happened with Aaron Rodgers, I said, don't
close the door that he's absolutely done because the Jets
will get a quarterback. They will just draft somebody in
the second round or third round. Me they'll draft Kyle McCord,
(30:56):
you know, or they'll go somebody in free agency. He
was young. They'll do something to get a quarterback of
the future. Maybe Jordan Travis is healthy next year, because
he's a guy that they thought they would actually see
a little bit from him this year. But they will
do something for a young quarterback. But it could be
a case of, hey, Rogers was really hurt and we've
seen some signs of him being the old Rogers. Hey,
maybe we can go into next year giving him one
(31:18):
more chance, and we bring along the young quarterback behind.
And Aaron understands that unless you know, he throws thirty
five or forty touchdowns, this is going to be it again.
It's why don't close the door on Rogers with the Jets,
because he knows it's the Jets are nowhere next year.
He knows that's it. Nobody like Belichick, right, Aaron Rodgers
knows either I'm a Jet, I'm with this clown car
of an organization, or I am nowhere next year.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Well, we've talked a lot about the process and coming
back from injuries. Right, the fact that Greenlaw was on
the field to create the situation that happened in San Francisco,
that's a really aggressive timeline. Based on the injury that
he sustained in the Super Bowl. But for Aaron Rodgers,
he was coming back at the age of forty, right,
his Earthdake coming up, and all that stuff is that
(32:01):
he's what a year removed from a massive injury, and
we don't give guys grace and or like. Once you're
inside the white lines, it is what it is. But reasons,
excuses and long term decision making that maybe you can
look at it and say, well, everything that could go
wrong did again, and with a new coach and a
(32:24):
different approach, that you can find some sort of run through,
especially if it gives you an opportunity to draft a quarterback,
because you're not gonna draft at the top, right, so
you're not getting one of those two guys. You're gonna
get another young, young quarterback who's not gonna be ready,
not gonna be ready to go get inserted into NFL games.
(32:45):
So that gives you in theory, even if Aaron Rodgers
doesn't fully embrace the mentor type of thing, the kids
will have to learn through us mosis watching him work,
and that's the way it really can play out and
make sense.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Exit up about it. Fresca Exit Swollen Dome. The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Carmon Live from the Tirec dot
Com Studios. Coming up next, we'll have our final words
on tonight's Thursday night football game between the Rams and
the forty nine Ers, and we'll get ahead of the
curve on what is sure to be a very big
story tomorrow night involving the Lakers. That's next, Jason to
Mike Fox. Be sure to catch live editions of The
(33:21):
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific. I'm predicting it's gonna be poison.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
No.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
This one's called last Rick. Miss Oh you'll see why. Well,
of course, I Christmas ain't what it used to be.
I'll tell you that much. Fox Sports Radio The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Carmon Live. It's melodic, it is.
(33:53):
All the songs are good. Make you cra never gonna
say good bye. It's like our own pitch perfect. Yeah.
We're finding a way to do that. Yeah. Jason Smith,
Mike Harmon, Life the Dire Studios. Uh hey, we just
put it up on social media the Fox Sports Radio
Twitter account. Mike and I retweeted it. Our take on
(34:15):
the forty nine ers. Look, we watch them lose to
the Rams tonight, and this is the end of the
forty nine Ers, the end of this mini dieration, whatever
it done comes. Yeah, they're six and eight, they're out
of the playoffs. They went all in on this year.
They have like eight guys making over fifteen million dollars
and they're gonna have to pay brock Purty at some
point in the next two years. Whatever the forty nine
(34:36):
Ers do, it's either a rebuild a reload. But this
version of the Niners that we've seen with Debo and
Kittle and Iyugat, it's done. And you're gonna see a
lot of these high priced players playing elsewhere next year.
This run of the forty nine Ers is over.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Chance of the playoffs. So your Rams fifty percent?
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Yeah, my rent, You know I picked the Rams to
go to the super Bowl before the season started. Yeah,
I doubt if you know that, and not I did
that a surprise for this holiday holiday holiday season. I
picked the Rams. Nice good. Meanwhile, the story, you know,
we say ahead of the curve all the time, and
you know you want proof, We'll give you proof. So
Lebron James is going to be away from the Lakers
(35:18):
for a little while longer. It's personal, a story that
is kind of taking on its own life. In the
last few hours, He's unlikely to play tomorrow in Minnesota
and he is taking a break. Now. What we've heard
and heard from the Lakers, Hey, Lebron is fine. JJ
Reddick talked about how gast he is and how he
needs to come out of games. He had to come
(35:39):
out the last couple of times. He needs a break,
he needs to take some time away. He is not
with the team. Everybody needs a little time away, sure.
And the number one thing that we've heard the last
few hours, oh, Lebron's wants to get traded. He's gonna
want to get dealt to watch the Warriors. That's been
a whole big thing. Eh. I don't know about that
so much as if Lebron wants to get traded, he
(36:01):
would play and then he would just say trade me.
He would not have to spend time away from the team
and all this. I feel like Lebron has enough cachet
to make just make that happen. What if it was this,
what if it was this? Lebron has started this season
his goal was all eighty two games he saw the
Lakers play. They started out really well. Everything was awesome,
(36:21):
got to play with Bronny. It was good. Now in
the last couple of weeks, hey, the Lakers have kind
of gone back to the team that they were the
last couple of years. And Lebron can see it, and
he knows that is this really gonna be a great year,
or is this gonna be another year like last year?
And he has always said, oh, my last year in
the NBA playing with Bronnie, last year playing with Brownny.
(36:43):
Lebron's not gonna stick around to see his skills erode.
And he went through a really rough patch for a
few games, not hitting a three, barely making the you know,
getting a double figures in points, barely hitting iron I
am wondering if this time away is Lebron sort of
setting up and greasing the skids for an announcement that
(37:06):
this is going to be his final year in the NBA,
that he's going to finish after this year, and he's
going to finish as strong as he can, play as
many games as he can, and this is going to
be it, because if he sees his skills eroding a
little bit. Now, what's it going to be a year
from now? He really doesn't want to suddenly say, hey,
I'm holding on. I'm scoring fifteen a game, right, I
wonder if that's what this is going to. This is
(37:28):
Lebron taking time away to ponder if he should have
made this now, because you know, he wants a big
farewell tour. He wants people to hell, my god, Lebron
has been so good all this stuff, but he probably
doesn't want to do it going into the season out
of the offseason. But what if that was it. He's
taken time away now to get it out there. They
(37:50):
maybe this is going to be it, and I'm going
to have an announcement sometime that this is my final
year in the NBA and he enjoys the rest of
the year for what it is.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Yeah, I mean, they obviously had a couple of chungk
Days off here as well, so it's not like he's
missed a giant patch of games.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
So you know, push that aside.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
The l eighty two goal was noble, but let's face it,
we thought a bit ridiculous coming into the season and
the minutes level that he was being forced to play
to keep this team afloat was not sustainable either, which
is why you now have foot injuries and whatever else
is going on. And again, you know a lot of
(38:28):
speculation out there and all these reasons. But to have
the grandiose setup of a farewell tour, yeah, I could
buy it. I don't know that going and doing another
team up because he's very sensitive to that already. Men,
how many people go out of their way to you know,
talk about history and basketball history that are revered former players,
(38:50):
to talk about how he cheapened the game.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Whatever.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
He's sensitive to that, he may, you know, fight back,
and he certainly got his advocates, but it's a pretty
loud and resounding. So the last thing I think you
want to is, all right, I'm the diminishing guy, and
I'm just an ancillary part to somebody else's team, and.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
This doesn't mean that our trade couldn't happen. And she
announces this, and then in February, hey, we have to
close to the deadline. The Lakers aren't playing well for
the last Hey this run, go play with the Warriors.
Here's your last run in the Jimmy.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Butler's coming to take over for him, Like we saw
photoshopped earlier in the week
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Exit Albouta Fresca, Exit Swollen Do on the Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Harmon, My buddy Ben
Maller coming up next this as Fox
