get to Lebron James and the Lakers from tonight, it's
just been waiting for the Heisman Trophy.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah, Tomorrow night.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Obviously we know who the four finalists are, likely Travis
John c. John Cy just comes in, grabs the Heisman
away from Travis Hunter, hits.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Him over the head with it, the trophy floating. I mean,
Saturday Night's main event is Tomorrow Night with a bunch
of luminaries showing up and special guest stars can show
up at the Heisman ceremony. That's true. That's true.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
All the people that, all the legends showing up this
week to the next raw, right, you show me the Coco.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Beware that that's Saturday, remember Saturday Night main event that
would preempt Saturday Night Live once a month, talking away,
that's what they're bringing back quarterly. They're gonna do the
same thing, and so they're they're stripping down the graphics.
They're doing a bunch of that. So you've got Coco Beware,
Jimmy Hart, a bunch of the guys from the eighties.
Hogan's gonna be there whatever, but that's tomorrow night as

(01:47):
as part of the deal, and Jesse the body Ventura
back at the announcers desk as well, so they're going
full retro. He's gonna call everybody mcmah. You know, mcmah.
I don't know what time, m mcmack. We don't say
that name. No, you know, McMahon. That is a good
question whether it's in it, whether you could draw one
of those out of him, because that would be the bounty. Right,

(02:07):
how early can I get him to slip or reference Gorilla.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
With the Heisman Trophy set to be announced tomorrow night,
it's just been announced who finished fifth through tenth. Yeah,
of the voting, right, this is really interesting. Coming in
at number ten is Syracuse quarterback Kyle mccordy.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Boy, you under achieve. Yeah, fran Brown's under a failure.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
If we had just beaten either Boston College or Stanford,
we could be in the Playhoff.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Well, how dumbed is Ryan Dayfield? Now fire him and
get laid get. I just got to be happy that.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
You know, look, last year we were irrelevant and now
in one year we've won nine games or going to
the Holiday Bowl, and we had a guy finished tenth
in the Heisman Trophy voting?

Speaker 2 (02:57):
How excited is fran Brown? Though? To get back on
the record, trail, Hey, I made this guy. He went
from that, he left Ohio State from US. Oh, we're
one and we're hosting every guy. Well, of course what's
his name went to uh Houston, But we're hosting like
every quarterback that's in the portal. Right, oh yeah here
here everybody wants a visit.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Curtis Rourke is ninth quarterback of Indiana finished number nine.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Signetti's still kind of pissed. Should your Sanders Number eight
eighth overall in this list, finishing behind number seven.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, which I mean, come on, man,
every game it's like, okay, we're broadcasting a Penn State game.
We have to just say glowing things about Tyler Warren
because he's a tight end that he plays for Penn State.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
They threatened to take access away from people. The only
guy on the fields, only a Penn stab. Ben's Oh
my god, Penn State, Penn State. Look, he's great. Eighty
eight catches, two years, terristic, but I mean, come six touchdown,
Come on, man, come on and Trent let's still complaining
about the band finishing sixth. Carson Daly, he singled out,

(04:06):
finishing second. Bryson Daily Army quarterback finishes sixth in the
Heisman Trophy warding like it's nineteen forty three. Yeah, we
almost had a Heisman finalist. Yeah, but top ten, I
mean that's part of the Army Navy pageantry for tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
And finishing fifth, just number five Cam Scatibo running back
from Arizona State. Just man, we had a sun devil
and an Army Black Knight in Indiana and Syracuse quarterback
finished five through ten in the Heisman Trophy, voting what
a great year.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
In college football. I mean, you want to talk about
chaos that doesn't make any sense, No, completely unpredictable and sane.
That's what we wanted. We I want chaos in between
the white lines, and we got it here. Listen, look
at those names. You got one of the teams. Hey,
you're kicked out of a conference. It's folding. All right,
let's go win another one. I've got a guy that

(05:01):
gets kicked out of Ohio State and actually plays better
and excels for Syracuse football.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
My goodness, wow, I mean that's that's who finishes five
through ten.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
This is great, though, I come on, this is fantastic.
I mean there's gonna be a lot of people pissed
that Shador was eighth. Yeah yeah, well that's true. Oh
by behind that, behind the tight end. He should be
behind the tight end.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Oh my, behind the tight end. I should be right
by come on, it's being Travis Hunter in fact drives waiting.
Travis gonna be a shout out. I wouldn't have won
this hots without your door. And she just shows up.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Hey, here, I have everybody. Thanks. They hold the trophy
up together, and then Dion comes out hey and he's
waving to everybody. Oh he's gonna be salty though. Eight. Wow, Oh,
you had a top ten guy in Heisman Bony, look
at you. I know everything's coming up.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Smith a Sun Devil and quarterbacks from Army, Indiana and
Syracuse finished five through ten.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
How big was the lottery tonight? That's incredible. That's awesome, man,
May what a what a great year for college football.
I mean the number of storylines and programs rising, not
even from the ashes, because I don't know that they
ever really existed. Indiana football, you had a flash with

(06:24):
what Thompson and then Antoine Randall l and that's about it.
Syracuse football. We're going back to Donovan McNabb, Quinton Spotwood
on the radar a bit. I could do this all day.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Oh boy, the Chase and Smiths with Mike carmon Live
the TIREC dot Com Studios and Arizona State Sun Devil
and quarterbacks from Army, Indiana and Syracuse finish five through ten.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
So great, that's just the end of the world is coming.
The end is n well I mean it's Aaron Rodgers.
Did he did he make contact tonight? I mean, I
haven't seen an update.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Now, dude, there's it that that whole that whole drones
over New Jersey thing, which sounds sounds kind of like
a Broadway play, that drones over New Jersey thing.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
People are really upset about that. Man.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
There's there's lots of drones more than just hey, here's
a couple. Nobody knows what's going on.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
With that thing. But that's the problem is encounters is
here in an age of whether you want to put
the parenthetical diss or just say, in the age of
information and flow and process, that we have that numerous
government officials we had no idea what's going on. That's
a problem. It is okay, that's that as much as

(07:34):
we can joke about it. And the Aaron Rodgers, the
fact that you've had FBI people and all these generals
and whatever get in front of cameras and I don't
know it's coming back coming from his JJ Reddick and
Lebron James. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
I mean really, and this is where like like if
Aaron Rodgers, if you're listening eight seven seven ninety nine,
on Fox. Come on, if you found in the aliens tonight,
because you know he's doing it right. I mean, they're
all over New Jersey now apparently this is they're all.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
The But I want to say this. Do they all
look like Tony How many? No? No, they all look
like the aliens from toy Story Ottle Green men. How
many people do you think? Just decide?

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Hey, you know what, Hey, all these people are going
crazy over these I'm gonna fly my drone over these
houses tonight.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Let's see what happens here. It's drone night. Friday Night's
drone night. We're gonna do it. We're gonna do drone Night. Yeah,
I've I've I've been that guy on on the highways
and byways and the beaches and strands of southern California
yelling at people to get their drones away, your perverts.
You and that guy they're watching you walking your dog?

(08:38):
Is that the on? It is? Yeah? Okay, no, no, no,
but you've got it over. Maybe it's maybe it's the
what if it's the aliens and they're looking at looking
at you a bunch of perverts that are trying to
sneak a peek of the people that are out sunbathing. Okay,
all right, jerks, alright, okay, got no real reason to
be out there.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Throw rocks at him, get out of wood. But you
can't throw, You can't throw. I got one good throwing me.
I got one good throw before I scream. What's this
guy doing? He looks like he's trying to throw something
up in the air. He just keeps dropping it on
the ground. I don't understand he running around with a sling.
Congratulations to those finishing five through tenth, Kyle and maccorn,

(09:18):
Arizona State, Army, Indiana and Syracuse. That sounds like a
grouping saying okay, out of this group of the uh
in the in the NCAA, in the lower half of
the Southeast Bracket and the NCAA tournament, who's coming out? Well,
I'll tell you, Army way. I like Indiana and Syracuse
to finish there. Arizona State had sue. I mean, that's
who finishes five through ten.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Still a little disappointed that Indiana football hasn't leaned into
like candy stripe pads and pants. Uh, well, they just
become a big deal this year.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Let him get through a couple of years of hey,
we've not been as good as we were in twenty
twenty four.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Then it'll just because I can channel the old Uh,
that'll help at Henderson days and stuff. But it will
happen later. It will happen. Just give him a little
bit of time and it will all happen. Why do
I every time I hear Signetti's name, I think of
Jack Scagnetti. It's Tom Sizemore's character. And Natural More, how
do you remember that that's the worst movie ever Natural

(10:12):
Bonne Killers were I went to see that with my
best friend and I'm like, this is the worst movie
I've ever seen. This is absolutely terrible.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
And we stayed till the end and we walk out,
and I said to him, I said, you know, if
I wasn't here with you and you weren't watching it,
i'd have walked out. He goes, I only stayed because
I thought you wanted to see it. I said, I
could have left forty five minutes ago. I don't need
to see His movie is awful. You can decide you
hate the movie. That's fine. Soundtrack was killing well, yeah,
I mean soundtrack yeah really good. I mean that's when
I said, oh, I really liked that Sweet Jane song.

(10:42):
That's a good one. Yeah, the remake of that good
je But that was the worst. That was such an
awful movie. Cohen Ohn, I mean Oliver's Boy, Hey, why
don't you go back and make more movies like JFK
I was that was a good one.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Back and to the left back and can you do
one on lasers and alien and the conspiracies around those.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I mean, that would be a bigger story than the
NFL weekend if Aaron Rodgers had some kind of video
tonight online, like at midnight, like like two three in
the morning of him with a little alien, because remember
he said, you have to get the green laser to
bring him in and you have to contact them to
make him show up. Like apparently Aaron Rodgers saying this

(11:24):
earlier this week, like he's done it before. That's like
me saying, I'm gonna go to the store, I'm gonna
get I'm gonna go to Starbucks and get a coffee.
I'll pick up soda on the way home. Yeah, I'm
just gonna go out on Friday night and I'm gonna,
you know, bring the aliens in and then you know,
you get them closer to you.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
With a little green ray gun and uh yeah, we'll
find it.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
I really I want to see Aaron Rodgers like video
of in with his arms around around the little aliens
and they're all wearing Rogers Jets jerseys.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
And he's smiling the happiest he's gonna be. Oh, it's funny.
Right over the course of I forget way at the
time line. Everything is a blur. But I went out
to the desert to when the skies were clearest. They're
burning the meteor meteor showers, okay, and you had cars
lined up for miles inside the National Parks. It's gotta

(12:12):
be the same thing. Everybody trying to find Rogers and
drag him. He's gonna lead us to the Promised Land.
Right here, gon up waiting everybody that's been circling around
the Desert area fifty one in all these years. No, no, no,
they've got Nora ad trackers on Aaron Rodgers' car. You
figure out where the hell he's going.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Jets, you three and ten. Rogers ain't leading you nowhere, okay.
All he's leading you to is like like someplace where
there's no aliens.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah, but he's a fantasy ninja for week fifteen against
the Jaguars' who.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Isn't a fantasy ninja against the Jaguars, Who isn't? Who isn't.
It's not a sure thing. That's why he's still a
fantasy ninja. He's gonna have to pop out of the
pop out of the weeds, unknown and unexpected. I really
want to say, I really want to see Rogers like
with with the with the pitch black night behind him
and him like in like a columnless leather jacket and

(13:00):
he's got his smiling and he's got his arms.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
From really collars three or.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Four aliens and they're despised and they're waving at the camera.
They're taking a picture with him or or its video
either one. I really want to see that these are
my and then and then Rogers will tweet it out
and then capture it. Here's my guess for the game
on Sunday. And then they cut to the booth and
they're all like in the in the uh in one
of the suites together and they're all just like wrecking
stuff and.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
They're just waiting. No, no, no, now you're just describing gremlins,
and forget about Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Let's take a look and see and uh owner Woody
Johnson's booth there and the aliens just running around, just
destroying everything.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Happy Friday Night, America.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Oh boy, look at that. The aliens are here and
they are not happy. But speaking of not happy, Jet's
third and seventeen on their own forty three. Let's go
down to the field. That's how it's gonna go.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Arre Wilson has been replaced on the field, fine an individual.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
The alien comes out and the helmet is too heavy
and it just keeps falling over. It just keeps hitting
the ground. As he's running out to the huddle. Throwing
in the ball would be like when they threw the
ball to Lucas at the end of Lucas's standing there
and I'll just jump on top of a tackle.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
I explain lenials about the movie. We got the collarless
leather jacket in a matter of ninety seconds. Anytime I
can bring up a movie with Kerry Green, I will do.
That's good exit.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
How about a Fresca accent swollen down The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon Coming up next, We're gonna preview
some of the biggest games of the weekend in the
NFL and give you a big what if when it
comes to what the future holds for Lebron James. Is
he just tired? Does he want a trade? Or could
it be.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Something else that's next? Jason to Mike Fox. Be sure
to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with
Mike harmon weekdays a n pm Eastern seven pm Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Dear Casey,

(15:11):
can you please play Last Christmas?

Speaker 1 (15:14):
But the version where Slayer sings it and they talk
about people dying very early Slayer did, Jason, you gotta
admit when it picks up, it's pretty dope.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yes, it is, well, I mean, and we have to
celebrate each and every day as a kid. It is
recognizing that, I mean, the end is nigh. The Aliens,
the lasers. We just talked about this.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
As long as we get Belichick doing have yourself a
merry little Christmas at some point should be a good closer.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Okay, we need okay, very good? All right, and and
well and you know Chewy doing is you know we
need that.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
I do like the Last Christmas Slayers South, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carbon Live from the
tirec dot Com Studios. So the Lakers lose tonight to Minnesota,
and they're I don't want to say absolute free fall,
but they're somewhat free fall. Continues to lose ninety seven
eighty seven. No Lebron James, who was not with the
team for personal reasons or.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
The foot injury, depending on which report you want to
go with. You like, if it was a foot injury,
they would have said something. You know what, I wouldn't
you have just leaned into that though, because isn't that
ostensibly why E supposedly allegedly missed the first game. Yeah,
but La in the street.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
If it was, if that's really what it was, it
would be that's why there is something behind this. Okay,
but that's the thing. You got the easy out and
you're not taking it, Souz. Wait till I tell you
what it could be. Right, So Lebron doesn't play and
the Lakers lose again. They're thirteen and twelve now, they
gave away that big start. They have a lot of problems.

(17:00):
Lebron is away from the team personal reasons, and it
doesn't sound like it's anything more than that, Hey, he's away.
It doesn't sound like it's anything health wise or something
to do with his family. That's the first thing you
think of, is you hope he's okay. I hope everybody's
family's okay. But you heard the Lakers talk about it.
He heard JJ Reddick say, Hey, sometimes guys just need
a couple of days in Santa Barbara, and you know Lebron,
you know inferring, Hey, Lebron's taking advantage of the fact

(17:22):
that he's Lebron James. I need a couple of days
off because I wanted to play in all eighty two games.
That's not gonna happen. So now I'm gonna take some
time away. So there's two big things. There's two things
so far, it's been thrown out there to be. It
could just be I need some time off, just like
that could be is a trade in the works. Is
Lebron trying to figure out a way to move knowing that, Hey,

(17:42):
I've watched the Lakers not play well off our start.
I see the rest of the Western Conference. I know
it's not going great for us. So I don't know
how much time I have left. But Lebron to the
Warriors certainly has been a story that has gained a
lot of traction. Know what would this trade look like?
Who would come back to the Lakers instead? And why
wouldn't it be Steph to the Lakers? And but Steph
has never left the Golden State Warriors. Lebron has moved around.

(18:05):
It's just for the rest of this year. That's been
the other popular topic. But what if it's this, What
if Lebron James comes into this year expectations and says,
seeing that it's gonna kind of be the same as
it has been the last couple of years. We're gonna struggle,
We're gonna be in the bottom half of the West.

(18:26):
Maybe we're in the playing round. I'd like to be
out of the playing round, but we're probably in the
playing round again because the West is deep and it's
not gonna be a final season. Yeah, they were all in,
just like the Cowboys, right, all in.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
God, make sure I'll make trades for the Lakers too.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
I'll take place of the guy that looks like Rob Low,
and I'll make trades for them.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Pretty good.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Low does that that game show? Now that I watch
it once in a while, it's pretty good. He's like
the new Pat Sajak. He sees the Lakers aren't playing well.
He knows what kind of season this is going to be.
He is also coming off a run of his worst
basketball that we have seen from him in quite some time,
not making threes, barely getting to ten points. He wasn't

(19:09):
the same guy. Now, he did play pretty well in
his last game, so okay. And of course it's Lebron.
He's still playing at a high level, but he's forty
years old. What if this is Lebron James taking time
away to make the decision that this year is going
to be his final year in the NBA, and when
he comes back to the Lakers he makes that announcement.

(19:33):
A guy like Lebron And when I say that, I
mean an icon like Lebron, Tom Brady, all the best players,
they never stay too long. They don't want to go
out when they look like we're just hanging on and
we're just trying to just keep the game going.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Right.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
No, No, I want to keep my legacy intact. I
will play if I'm a little bit off of and
I've erodeed a little bit from the best version of myself,
but not too much. He sees it now that, oh boy,
I see that that patch there, and he thinks, can
I really do that next year? Can I risk coming

(20:10):
back next year and maybe not even being this guy
and being hurt most of the year, or not being
able to do what I can to players? And the
younger players are just suddenly passing me. Because when you
get old, it happens right away. It doesn't happen over gradually.
It happens right away. Now, Lebron's not gonna walk away. Now,
he's not gonna do that, but could Lebron, who of
course is gonna want the attention of a full sort

(20:33):
of season farewell tour. He comes out, he returns the
Lakers and says, all right, I just want everybody know
I've made a lot of decisions, given my all this year.
This is my last year in the NBA. This I'm
retiring after this year.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
You know.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
He always said his last season was gonna be with Brownie.
It's gotten that right. He got to play with Bronnie.
He'll probably get to play with Brownie Moore during the season.
Bronni is playing well. He played well the G League.
Last night he scored thirty points. Played in away game
and he scored thirty points. I've done that. I've played
with Brownie and now this is gonna be it for
me and I'm at peace, and I'm gonna go through
the rest of this year and have whatever at arms

(21:08):
length farewell tour I'm going to get because that's kind
of what it would be because Lebron has always kind
of been an arms length kind of player. So and
he's not someone that's gonna go, Okay, next year is it,
and I'm gonna go through the whole offseason season. He
will get what is the best version of a farewell
tour for the rest of December, January, February, March, April,

(21:28):
however long the Lakers go in the playoffs, his games
at the end will be must see TV one more time.
This is the end of Lebron James in this era.
What if that's what it is? Because we've talked about
the injury time away, okay, a trade, Yeah, really, what
if this is it and he's going, okay, I got
to take stock of what's going on right now. So
I just had a really bad run and if I

(21:49):
think that's gonna continue, I want to get in front
of that because I'm not gonna be someone getting posterized
next year by guys coming. I'm not gonna come in
and have Cooper Flagg posterize me driving by me to
the net and having Mike tru Chefski standing up and
clapping in the stands. Not gonna do it. Not gonna happen.
So what if that's what it is?

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Now? If Lebron played enough defense, he could force him
into a corner and a bad decision.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Oh I don't think you have to play too much
defense to force him into a bad decision.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Oh sorry, I'm sorry. Yeah, Cooper flag member who were
watching him is like, oh, I did it once, I
did it again. Anyway. The look, there's a lot swirling
and we're not gonna delve into the the other Lebron
James stuff. You can search the webs as you need to.
We're keeping it on the court here. Uh. The injury
thing is the easy out if they wanted to use that.

(22:36):
So the fact that JJ Reddick when being asked point blank,
when are you get in the back? When do you
expect him? And he just has this blank stare and says,
I don't know, it's a bit problematic. I mean, yeah,
it's still early, it's still pre Christmas. So technically the
NBA season they tell me hasn't started yet. They should
always start on Christmas.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Dad.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
That's the thing though, Jayson, with all the hand ring
that's gone on for all of these teams, like you know,
normally you didn't care about the NBA and said they
shouldn't even be playing and saying these twenty five games
don't matter or whatever we're at at this point for
each individual squad. But yeah, I mean we've watched the
no show effort on defense with some regularity, and so
that's when with the offense is going to start to go.

(23:20):
And we've seen that with the jump shot and the erratic,
the supercuts of that, the airballs and whatever else concerning
because if you can't get it on that end of
the court, like defensively, we know that's gone. Right. That
is a couple possessions a game where he can really
give you some semblance of the guy that he used
to be on that end, and occasionally you'll see a

(23:42):
chase down, but you can't count on that, and certainly
as a team, you can't count on that as constructed.
So for the Lakers expecting anything better or more robust
than they had a year, ago fools erin Dalton connects.
Not hitting that many three points shots, no to suddenly
make you a contender, but taking the little bit of

(24:03):
time to heal both the foot and time.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Time.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Mesh that up with some holiday holidays stuff. But to
all that point, like you come back, I could look, man,
he would lean into a farewell tour more than any
other ever has. I mean, Kareem and forget Paris whatever,
then whatever else you got, I mean, this would be
for the NBA everything you could hope for and more so. Yeah,

(24:30):
I would lean towards your what if alternate universe? Here,
Now let's take this to the next level, because now
here's another angle of it that it could be. We
know that Lebron has always wanted to pressure the Lakers
to make changes, right, and we've seen the first twenty
some odd games. It looked like it was going okay.
But now it's not the Lakers need change. We've heard
that a lot less Lakers need change.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Lakers need change, which we were saying during the winning
because now those guys were playing forty minutes a night.
How about Lebron taking time away from team as a
trump card to I'm away from the team because it's
not good enough and I don't know if I want
to continue, and I might retire. What if it was
the threat of retiring to get the Lakers? Hey, go

(25:12):
make a move now, Go get KD from Phoenix, Go
get somebody. Don't wait till the deadline. Let's go. Let's
make move. Whether we got to trade Austin Reeves or not,
he's apparently he's got to be in anvy trade the
Lakers make and he traded in the NBA trade machine.
He's got involved Austin Reeves.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Well, because what if that was it? He's making money, Yeah,
but what if that was it?

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Lebron is away from the team as a way to
force them say I'm away. I don't know if I
want to continue. You guys got to go make a
couple of moves and make this team better right now? Oh,
powerplay situation certainly would not would not discount that given
his history and even how JJ Reddick ended up on
the bench right well regarded. But to go straight in

(25:54):
from no experience into the Lakers coaching chair, and I
know everybody he wants to go to pat Riley and whatever.
We can do that all we want, But this day
and age. It's a big move.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
And as much as they wanted to distance it from
Lebron James having all that kind of juice and weight
on things, we're not idiots. We know the fact that
the invisible hand is still there and right now, whether
it's Jimmy Butler, whether it's Kevin Kevin and by the way,
Jimmy Butler's people still fighting with shams. Boy, that's fun.

(26:27):
We can do dramatic readings like it's a holiday poem.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
I feel like every week someone's fighting with shams, Like
it's every week there's a Oh, fighting with Shams.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
This week is just saying there's a nice fire building there,
you know, the old Weather's smoke when when agent after
agent and someone starts coming out doesn't mean that it's
not partially true, but maybe it wasn't ready to come out. Yeah,
fighting with Shams this week is And this could be
a thirty thirty TV special.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
It's like it's like Supernatural. They would just have the
baddie of the week every week. Good as like sometimes
the devil was involved, sometimes death was involved. Who's showing
up though? Yeah, but like who's the who's the bad
guy of the week? That's gonna look really menacing in
the beginning, and then they kill him at the end,
Like that's all, Hey, who's the baddie of the week.
That's gonna fight with shams this week.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, it's kind of like Darth Maul look cool, great
for marketing, and then disappeared. Uh, that's still goes you
go back to bad decisions in Star Wars history, Like
that's in the top three killing off Darth Maul. You
had a cool villain that everybody loved. Nope, gonna kill him. Wait,
so that movie everybody loved it. Nope, gonna kill him off.
People don't care.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
They're gonna love Attack of the Clones and and and
uh and Revenge of the Sith.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Doesn't matter what I put out there. Oh okay, but
that first movie, you sold it on him. That image
was on every big He was cool, he is Toad.
He was cool. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
I mean that's Liam Neeson's only loss. He's got a
special set of skills, not to Darth Maul, who apparently
just needed to head butt him.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
He ordered to.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
I mean, they fight all this stuff and it goes
so fast.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
Oh he needs a head buttt But you didn't really
learn yeah, the physicality of it, Yeah, it was. Everything
was done with the you know, the force or with
your lightsabers. Kind of weak, all this fighting with the
force and making sure you don't get touched by the
lightsaber because it cuts off a part of your body.
But no, a little head bud's gonna really screw you
up and I'm gonna kill you. Come on, maybe needed
a guardian helmet that helped that bad that's it.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
That's almost as bad as the end of Ocean's thirteen
where they oh, how did you how did you get
the diamond o? When they got in a fight on
the train and took it from the guy, Like, come on, man,
that's all you did was a guy to what in
a Yankees hat and a Red Sox hat fight and
you're on trade.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Holy that. You know how big a deal this is.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
You've been involved with Khan men your entire life, but oh,
here's a fight. I'm not gonna think for a second
that involves me or they're gonna want to take this thing. Oh,
and that's how we got it.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Come on, but tell me you don't stop and watch
it every time it comes on. Nothing way, go have
a couple of kids, sorry, that was twelve. Not that
was two. I was twelve. Thirteen was good, thirteen with Puccina,
thirteen was good. What is this a Billy Martin? Billy Martin?
We're doing a Billy Martin? All right? No partner's desk guy, No. Thirteen.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Thirteen was why they came back because twelve was so
They clon even said we couldn't go out on mountain.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
That was just terrible. You couldn't all that to say,
this is Billy Martton, just like Al Paccino getting over
on Carl Reiner. The lebron James may be doing a
power play, but to the Lakers breast, this is a
Billy Martin.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Billy Martin? A billion mott?

Speaker 1 (29:33):
All right, here's what I want to do one night,
one night, one night around the holidays. I want to
call you. Gotta give me the cell phone number of
your parents, your brothers and their whole family, and I'm
gonna call them all up at like two o'clock in
the morning and just go as is it Billy Martin?

Speaker 2 (29:48):
What is it? You know? What's funny is this is
Billy Marton. My father would get the joke. It's a
movie that we run lines on Everythay again. But yes,
right now, let's go to a guy who is the
Billy Martin. The Fox Sports Radio special delivery Steve de
Sega with what's trending as.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
An American leagumpire once said to Billy Martin, Yamo, you
mentioned the Heisman Trophy voting. We'll find out the top
four tomorrow night. Players five through ten were unveiled tonight.
Number five, for example, Arizona State running back camp Scataboo.
The Athletic points out that four of the top ten

(30:27):
and this year's voting are from the Mountain time zone.
Not one of the top ten is from the SEC
this year. We'll find out the winner tomorrow nights. Will
it be Colorado's Travis Hunter or Boise State running back
Ashton Gent Also finalists Oregon quarterback Dylan Gabriel and Miami
QB cam Ward. The Army Navy game is Saturday in Maryland.

(30:49):
Bowl matchups really start going over the next week. In fact,
next Friday night, there's a Bowl game with Florida Gators
in Tampa against Tulane. Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker with
his calf injury, is doubtful for some night against the Packers.
He's misspracticed all week. Green Bay wide receiver Romeo Dobbs
is out of concussion protocol. Steelers wide receiver George Pickens,
with his bad hamstring, is out at Philadelphia. Pittsburgh can

(31:12):
clinch a playoff berth with a win. The Dolphins cut
wide receiver Odell Beckham. Jacksonville tight end Evan Ingram is
out for the year. He'll have shoulder surgery. The Jets
expect running back Breee haulback in the lineup Sunday after
a knee injury. The Yankees traded for closer Devin Williams
from Milwaukee. The Cubs acquired outfielder Kyle Tucker from Houston.

(31:32):
As for the NBA's late game, two late free throws
from Victor wembin Yama gave the Spurs a win at
Portland one eighteen one sixteen. Wembin Yama, on free throws,
was ten for ten and scored twenty eight points for Phoenix.
Devin Booker thirty four points in a victory at Utah
one thirty four to one. Twenty six home wins for
Minnesota and Memphis. For Chicago and Denver, which beat up

(31:55):
the Clippers won twenty to ninety eight. Cleveland is twenty
two to four after downing Washington one fifteen to one
oh five and Indiana one. At Philadelphia one twenty one
one oh seven. Joel Embiid left after being hit in
the face. He suffered a sinus fracture. Back to you,
Thank you, Steve O.

The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmon
Live from the Tireck dot Com Studios.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
What is this a dick Hauser? This a dick Hauser?
What is this? What is this an Aaron Boone? What
is this an Aaron Judge? I dropped the ball and
sent a field and then you auction it off for
forty three grand? What is this? Uh? Come on? What
would you do with that ball? Oh? I'll tell you what.
You know what We'll We'll get to that in a
few minutes.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Okay, But straight ahead, Mike and I take a preview
at a huge week fifteen in the NFL, A couple
of the biggest games on the slate. Who's walking away
with the w We'll tell you next Jason and Mike Fox.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the Iheartrap Fox.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. Yeah True Live from the ti rack dot
com studios. A big slate of games in the NFL
this week, and we got six or seven games that
are must watch. We'll talk about the two ones that
are Well, let's we'll get to the Bills and the Lions,

(33:26):
and the Steelers and the Eagles coming up next hour.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Oh, I thought you were going to tease ahead for
the two Monday night football games. No, we gave your
upset special picks.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
And a couple of games that are gaining a lot
of attention over the last couple of days.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Well, we'll get to Cleveland. That's that's coming up.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
I feel like and I feel like this game is
a little bit It is a big game, but I
feel like it's really been jammed down our throats, like
this is the most underrated game of the week. Colts
and the Broncos. Yeah, Broncos in this amazing run towards
the playoffs, and Sean Payton is the coach of the year.
There's nobody else, There's nobody else. If Sean Payton is

(34:09):
the coach of the year, coming in with a rookie
quarterback who has been fantastic over the last six weeks,
the Broncos are just with a bunch of guys are
just winning football games, and you scratch it and go, how.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Is this team this good? Now? I think Sean Payton
knew what he was doing.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
He says, let's say goodbye to Russell Wilson and let's
usher in a new era and look where they are.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Well, vance Joseph defense getting it done. Throughout the year,
You've seen the offense come to life with bow Nicks.
There is something to be said for the fact that,
let's face it, a lot of people love Sean Payton
in the media, so every decision was going to be
met with a he knows what he's doing. He's a wizard.
Like if you're a quarterback and you have a bad year,

(34:51):
that Super Bowl might might as well not exist. But
if you're of a coach and you won one a
long time ago, even in a bad division with a
Hall of Fame quarterback, it's okay, You're a super Bowl
champion forever.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
More.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
All of that to say, though, Peyton's done a fantastic job.
The best decisions that they they made. Courtland Sutton was
on the trade block from all the reports that you heard,
guess what. He really solidifies a lot of things, then't
he showing out special? He is? And and bo Nicks
with his arm and with his leg and even if
they didn't get along early on, he and Peyton have

(35:23):
found something. Look, they may have had the best offense
in the NFL the last month the Broncos and and
I know people all would a good game and Anthony Richardson.
I'm giving Anthony Richardson a lot of credit because he
has somewhat changed the narrative over the last couple of
weeks of the quarterback he's going to be and obviously
seeing him for a while Indianapolis, how do we really

(35:44):
utilize him? What's the best way?

Speaker 1 (35:45):
And they've kind of figured it out and so he's
playing well and I now think he's much more on
the on the road that he was on when he
was drafted. But Denver wins this in a route. Denver
wins this in a route. Anthony Richardson's going to have
all kinds of problems with this Denver defense. Denver's gonna
put points up. The good times continue. They are gonna
roll the Colts in this one.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Four point favorites forty four the total. To your point
about Richardson, it's much in line with what we've been
saying about Bryce young and some of the other younger quarterbacks.
You know what, it takes time, right, it's not microwaveable,
and not everybody comes into great success where everything clicks.
We've watched it held the Bears. Everybody was jumping on
board the Caleb Williams bandwagon. Oh, Thomas Brown's a genius.

(36:29):
Fifty seven yards of total offense in the last two
first halfs combined. So all of that to say, I
agree with you that Vance Joseph defense is a problem. Sorry,
it's well, I was waiting for the wait fifty seven
yards Yeah, no, that's true. But that defense causes Richardson
fits short fields Broncos take advantage. I'm with you. I

(36:52):
think it becomes a two score game.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
The other big game of the week that we haven't
gotten into a lot, Tampa Bay and the Chargers. Chargers
keep winning as much as they can, Tampa Bay keeps
showing spurts that maybe we can be a great team. Look,
this is where we've been ahead of the curve on
the Chargers. We've told you for a long time, the
Chargers can't expect to roll through this with this offense
and get into the playoffs. We do it. In the beginning,

(37:17):
You're you're depending on two running backs who get hurt
a lot that your brother traded to you. If your
brother doesn't need him, what's he gonna do to you?
I just I just put Dobbins and Edwards off on.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Jim and Dobbins was fantastic, right, But he can't.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
Was and and you can't keep saying, well, Vidala is
gonna be our running back. We're gonna bring Hassan Haskins.
You can't do it. You just can't do it. You
have to take advantage of the fact that Justin Herbert
is your best player. You have to throw the football.
Maybe Lad mcconkeye's the MVP of the NFL, because boy,
the difference in that offense when he's in the game
and he's not. But even though Baker Mayfield's have been

(37:53):
fantastic and very consistent over the course of the last
year and a half plus, I feel really good about
the Chargers defense in this game, really putting it to him.
All the Chargers defense does is make plays, and McConkie
looks like he's back. Give me the Charges in this one,
and they keep the good times rolling as they get
close to the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Three point favorites at home in this one, forty five
being your total. Mccaukee coming back certainly huge. The offensive
line for the Charge's been great. Herbert's on the injury report.
He's got a bunch of things, little things not gonna
take him out. But all of that to say, question
of where he's at physically at this point, and also

(38:32):
finding those second options, I think they've found a good one.
Disley goes down. Smart has a big game for them
last week. I think they're gonna need him to be
a big in between the hash marks once again to
help move the chains. Because you're still trying to find
the answer at the running back position for Tampa. Bucky
Irving will be available, You've got Mike Evans.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
Doesn't matter who runs well, they're gonna run the ball well.
I mean that's Tannis No and that's just it.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
For Baker Mayfield, does he can you keep away from
the big turnover field goal kicking contest at the end.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Chargers defense has been underrated the entire season. They've been terrific.
I'll take the Chargers defense to win this one.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
Kicker the kickerne.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Exit out about a Fresco exit swelling down the Jason
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
God, big moves in.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
Major League Baseball, and have we just seen the end
of a superstar wide receiver in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
That's next, Jason to Mike Fox.
