Speaker 3 (00:49):
Just real quick.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
You're a Monte Bolanos. Tell you another goal for alexandro Veitchkin,
now twenty away from Wayne Gretzky's all time record. That's
gonna be a little polarizing when he gets break. N Oh,
that is gonna be poh love rising one hundred percent.
He's not my champion, Wayne Gretzky's my goal scoring champion. Yeah,

(01:11):
But the thing is he scored more goals. I don't care.
But it's not like he did anything bad, not like that.
He scored more goals. That that's kind of how it works.
He's scored more goals in Wayne Gretzky.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Can't we find some sort of metrics in terms of
ice time or or did we just say, hey, Gretzky
had more points, so blank him. I mean, I don't,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
I say, no, one's gonna talk about him being a
better player. I think Gretzky, well, how many people, how
many people in the top ten scoring all time? Does
Gretzky just have more goals then? And they're talking about
total points right, like you know, it's it's insane. Uh,
he's got more. He's got more assist than than I
think anybody has total points in in in NHL history.
Like that's kind of I mean that his game wasn't

(01:51):
just scoring goals, like he wasn't as much as for
a guy that has the record for most goals in history,
Like that wasn't really his game, Like his gameints Yeah,
his game was a goal and four assists like that
was that was a Gretzki game. A goal in forts out, Okay,
that works out. That was a Gretzki game right there.
But we got more on the Lakers coming out. The Lakers.

(02:13):
Look they win there, the biggest guy. Okay, they're back
for tonight. Let's stop. They win the biggest game of
the year. They thumped the Celtics, a game the Celtics
never really threatened. Yes, they were playing the second night
of back to backs, and we will play for you.
The latest version of the Epe audio that came out today. Uh,
the prosecution for Ipe Mazar, who's who was getting prosecuted

(02:36):
for embezzling money from Sho Heeo Tani, the big gambling
scandal from last spring. Prosecutors recommending fifty seven months in
prison for Ebey and they have released an audio of
him impersonating show Hay calling Sho Haes Bank to try
to get a large sum of money deposited to some

(02:57):
nefarious gambler of some kind. And the audio is incredible.
We had the first few seconds of it released about
an hour or so ago. Coming up, in about fifteen minutes,
we'll have a full minute of the audio. You got it.
It is must listen audio. But let me say this,
speaking of big deals going on in Los Angeles. I'm

(03:17):
pretty sure. In fact, I'm not pretty sure. I am
positive the Rams are ready to move on from Matthew Stafford.
Not only that, I think Sean McVay knows who his
next quarterback is going to be today at the end
of season press conference, right, this could very easily be
the Rams getting ready for the NFC Championship game. Falling
just short against the Eagles, Matthew Stafford reveals after the

(03:38):
game is playing with busted ribs and it was very
difficult for me looking at another incredible end of the season.
Still made some throws against the Eagles, and only Matthew
Stafford could make the no look throws, getting the ball
in a spot for Pooka Nakua where you can't believe
he put it in that spot. But right after the
game was over, Stafford was talking about his football mortality. Hey,

(03:59):
you're gonna return. What he can do is I'm gonna
spend some time and think about it. And he was asked,
do you have a lot of football left in you?
And he said, yeah, looks like so it looks like it,
doesn't it. This is not Matthew Stafford saying, hey, I
might want to hang it up. I need some time
to talk to my family. This is exactly what we
saw a year ago when Stafford kind of waffled about retiring.

(04:19):
Maybe I'm gonna stay, And of course the Rams were stuck.
What did the Rams have to do? They had to
give more money. Okay, so they solved that for this year.
But now here's Matthew Stafford who has four million dollars
of guaranteed money left on his deal. Is this Matthew
Stafford really wanting to retire, or is this Stafford saying, Hey,
I want more money, I want fall. Let's find a
way and let's do another deal where I get you know,

(04:41):
extra amount of money for this year. Then we have
another year tacked onto my deal where it's x amount
of guaranteed money. This is another money thing for Stafford
and Sean McVeigh today in the way he responded in
his end of season press conference, tells me that he
is ready to move on. Because if this strictly was
Matthew Stafford thinking about things, his response would have been, Hey,

(05:04):
Matthew's great, and we want him to take as long
as possible, because he wanted to think his family first,
coming off a big injury, take all your time instead.
What does Sean mcvagh say He is hoping for clarity
with Matthew Stafford quote sooner than later this off season quote.
We don't want to have that go on again what
happened last year. I don't think that's good for anybody.

(05:26):
Sooner than later being able to get that clarity, understand
and clear, open and honest communication. There's a lot of
love coming from our part, and I think sooner than
later is an ideal scenario. Then McVeigh has asked, Hey,
if he comes back, will he be the starting quarterback
next year? McVeigh says, we'll talk about all those things
at the appropriate time. This is not hey, we need you,

(05:47):
let's figure it out. This is we are ready to
move on, and we need to know right now. Because
the one thing the Rams have done better than any
team I have seen in the history of the NFL
is reload on the fly. This Rams run the last
five or six years, that's two Super Bowls, a championship,
deep in the playoffs. They find a way. It doesn't

(06:07):
matter whether we have draft picks or no draft picks.
We roll through, whether we sign a guy, we take
up on a bad contract, doesn't matter. They go on
and to what is next all the time. They've never
done it at quarterback, but they do it at running back.
They've done it a defensive line, they do it in
the secondary, they do it everywhere. They're gonna do it
this year with Cooper Cuppet wide receiver. Hey, Jordan Whittington's
gonna get a bigger role next year. And we still

(06:28):
think like the guys we have and now they're ready
to do it at quarterback because they wouldn't do this
sooner rather than later thing unless they knew we have
a plan in place. We're gonna pull the trigger on
something that's gonna wind up being shocking. It's gonna be
a trade of some kind, and they're gonna get their
next quarterback in the building ready to go. Now. Could
that be Sam Darnold maybe, Could it be JJ McCarthy maybe,
Could it be somebody who're not thinking of Could it

(06:49):
be Kirk Cousins maybe, But they have their guy. They
know who they want, and they want to know soon
so they can make that move. So they know this
is what we're gonna do, because this is the guy
we've identified to be our quarterback that we can just
roll into next year and the offense is going to
look exactly the same, or maybe look even better because
there's a different dynamic that gets added to it. Because

(07:09):
all of this wouldn't be the posturing that it is
unless the Rams are ready to move on. I mean
Sean McVay saying sooner than later, yeah, because we would
they take Matthew Stafford back, for sure they would, Yeah,
they'd take him back, but they're not going to give
them all kinds of money because they want to replace them.
And maybe the move is a young quarterback that if
we have to, we can let him sit for a
year under Matthew Stafford and then he takes over. But

(07:32):
if we have to, he can take over right away.
We'll accelerate the learning process. They are ready to move
on from Stafford and all the talk we have seen
over the course of the past year, you know, Kelly
Stafford a couple of times talking about you know, love
from the Rams and love they want to see, and
it just it doesn't strike you that the whole McVeigh
Stafford thing is still so much love and affection in

(07:53):
anything we want and we're a team here. No, this
is Sean McVeigh drawing the line saying, we're ready to
move on, and you may that decision soon to the
rather than later. We're not gonna go through a whole
big negotiation thing with you. We are ready for our
next quarterback and you gotta tell us what's going on
soon so we can then act accordingly. And they are
going to act well.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
I think part it also just comes back to the
fact that look at what the way your season started,
and yeah, you had attrition and you had losses to injury.
You started one and four, you got absolutely decimated by
the Cardinals forty one to ten. You lost on the
road at Chicago, you lost to Chicago. Uh, season over.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
But yeah, there was no crazy play at the end,
like a Hail Mary that nothing guy's head or anything,
none of that. They're gonna have any play like that.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, yeah, you weren't able to pull that game out.
So we look at the the start to the season,
and much like we talked about with San Francisco all
season long, how much of Ayuk and Trent Williams and
what's going on with Brock Purty and everything else was
in the festering in the background that created a tension

(09:05):
and a start to the season and a rough offseason
that you couldn't recover from. I'm wondering if the Rams
were wondering the same thing, because, all right, the assumption
is Stafford's coming back. We've got contracts for two years
this one. You know, as you said, not a lot
of guarantees. Ways to cut the salary cap hit depending

(09:25):
on some of those drop down dates, right, trades versus
releases and everything else. But in terms of investing long term,
he's now a guy that gets into that Ben Roethlisberger
phase of things. He's talking about retirement a bunch. He's
got his wife on podcast talking about retirement. Now. They've
gone through a lot health wise, both Kelly and obviously

(09:47):
we find out Stafford busted up and playing through a
lot of pain down the stretch. That's not going to
stop when you're thirty seven, thirty eight years old. So
what you can't do is hamstring off season. Because what
did they come to battle with if Stafford had missed
significant time this year? Yeah, Jimmy, Yeah, Jimmy was there,

(10:10):
But Jimmy was There was no real trust that Garoppolo
was suddenly going to be the answer. It was a
stop gap. All right, we bring him in proof of
concept in the past, but let's see what happens, and
quitted himself fine at the end, but one of those
you didn't go and really into the marketplace to say,
all right, we need to go find our air apparent. Right,

(10:32):
hoping Stetson Bennett would would get right and be back
with the team and grow and develop. But McVeigh, I'm
thinking after this season the way it went in division, going, wow,
we blew a big opportunity for bigger things and didn't
have the cohesiveness. We're not going to do that again.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Now here's the other part of it, right, like, why
would you do this, Matthew Stafford? You think about this?
Is that Look at how the Rams started the last
two years, Matthew Stafford. They started out very poorly the
last year, right, they started out one to four this year,
and they started the first nine games last year they
were four and five right before they get into the
playoffs and they go on and you know, they lose
on the road. Last year in twenty twenty three, Matthew

(11:15):
Stafford was nine touchdowns, eight picks in the first nine
games and the Rams were four and five. Then they
have a big run. At the end. Stafford plays well,
they get to the playoffs, they go on the road,
they lose this year. Okay, first six games, Matthew Stafford
three touchdowns, four interceptions. Right then he gets hot. The
Rams start winning games. They get to the playoffs, they
go on the road, and they lose to the Eagles.

(11:39):
Sean mcvain knows and understands, we're a Southern California team.
We aren't gonna play well in the snow. What happened
when they played in the snow on Sunday, Matthew Stafford
dropped the ball when he should have. It was tough
moving the football, was tough being that executing their offense.
They know they need to have home playoff games if

(11:59):
they're gonna win a Super Bowl, Right, any any team
that plays warm, whether they're gonna need a home game
or to play in a dome all the way through,
if they're gonna go to the Super Bowl. Because it's
too hard for a team that's used to that to
get on the road in January and February. And when
you see the quarterback come out and he's got gloves
on both hands and the big body sweat the big
body hoodie that goes up over your head and you

(12:21):
can barely see the mouth and the eyes like you're
not ready to play football, you're just trying to keep warm.
So I know that this is how it goes. And
Sean mcvaigh knows if we're gonna go somewhere, we gotta
get home field. We can't start every season one and four.
We can't start four and five. We gotta start better.
And Matthew Stafford doesn't start well anymore. The last two

(12:42):
years he has started very poorly before coming on in
the last half of the season. That's not good enough.
They gotta get out. They gotta get out of the
first five or six seven weeks. Now, you know, four
and two not two and four three for they gotta
win more games beginning of the here. It's not like
the last couple of years they played teams they were
so good we couldn't wind up beating them. They know
they need that change. And that's also part of the

(13:03):
whole Stafford thing, which is, dude, we're we're trying to
come back from the hole you help put us in.
You know, every single year. I mean, you know again,
the first nine games last year, nine touchdowns for six
games this year. Three touchdowns. Your quarterback starts out better.
You're flipping that record. And guess what, instead of playing
this game in Philadelphia, you're playing this game in Los Angeles,

(13:24):
and that's a much better chance of winning that football game.
So I completely get why he wants, why he's looking
to say, Okay, we need we need better play for
more quarterback because he got so pissed at Jared Goff.
We're gonna get We're gonna give give him the draft
picks to you to give Matthew Stafford to us. Now
I feel like he's almost at that point where we
can't do this. We'll give Matthew Stafford, let him go.

(13:45):
We're ready to move on because I need somebody that's
gonna be better from the beginning of the season.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Yeah. The the other thing that you're looking ahead and
obviously teams are gonna change big offseason draft, high draft picks, whatever,
and maybe they they get something right. You're playing the
AFC South in the rotations this year. Opportunity knocks. If
you can take care of it.

Speaker 1 (14:09):

Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with My best

recently swept through Los Angeles, you want Rapid Radio's instant
push to talk walkie talkies for clear national lt coverage
and one touch communication, peace of mind for connecting with
family and an emergency. Go to Rapid Radios dot com

(16:43):
now for up to sixty percent off and free shipping.
And just oh, by the way, we're still dealing with
the wildfires here in Los Angeles. A couple of new
fires last night. Luckily, you know, the fire department continuing
to work tirelessly to make this happen and to make
everything safe. And look, the eating fire is ninety eight

(17:05):
percent out.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Now.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
I thought I read in Palisades seventy five seventy eight percent,
But last night we had a brand new fire with
the supulvit of fire. And it was something that I
passed by on my way home, so you and I
we all passed by it on our way home. Finished
the show last night around eleven o'clock we left. I'm
driving home in the four or five freeway and all
of a sudden, the left side of the freeway, I

(17:27):
look over and it is a conflagration and some a
huge fire, and I'm going, whoa, Oh my god. And
it couldn't have been much more than a few minutes old,
and already it looked like it was spreading across the area.
And the four or five freeway is is has brush
on either side of it, and it was really close
to UCLA, and it was a huge story last night

(17:48):
for a few hours. I saw it right away and
I called nine to one one and they answered it,
and I said, hey, I had a report of fire.
Hang on, let me get you the fire department. And
I said, and they said, where are you calling from?
I said, I'm on the four or five South. There
is a huge fire. For you goes up, sir. Thank you,
we were just told about it. We got it, Thank
you very much, okay. And then two minutes later here
come the emergency vehicles up and the fire. By the

(18:11):
time I got home, it went from one acre to
ten acres, and and you know, Frostberg and I were
following it last night and just seeing the air support
that got there so fast, dumping water all over this.
They closed the freeway. You and I and Justin were
able to get home just in time before they closed
the freeway down. And it's it was really something. I'm
up until like two o'clock in the in the morning

(18:31):
watching going, okay, is everything going to be okay? Because
now this is the closest it's ever been to our house,
and UCLA is right over this hill, and what's going
to happen? And it was just watching watching these absolute
heroes continue to work. They have to be absolutely down
to the on vapors, and still they're out constantly met
and doing all this work to make sure that they

(18:53):
can keep this fire under control. And they got it
under control by around two two thirty in the morning.
And when you woke up today, it was, hey, another
fire they were able to keep, you know, to control it,
and it was an okay, hey, all right, well that's good.
But I'll tell you last night, for a couple hours
it was this is the closest the fire had gotten
to the city of Los Angeles since all the fire,
since the fire started the Palisades, you know, a week

(19:15):
and a half ago.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Yeah, just remembering twenty nineteen, right on the way up
to work in that area, we saw some fires and
coming back last night igniting as it did. Just by
the time I got home and flipped on the TV,
they'd blocked off the freeway and we're starting to really

(19:39):
re route because you only have two paths up there
right going north. You got that, you got Pulvita Boulevard,
which is where they were mounting all of the the
ambulances and fire trucks and everything you would need mobilized.
Just an amazing coordination. And that's one of the things.
You know, behind the scenes, we've got little glimpses of
the tactical a pro coaches of you know, the firefighters

(20:02):
and all right, how we're going to attack an area
to try to contain so you don't get back into
more buildings loss that you know, hey, there's a brush
and we haven't had any rain, so that's complicated matters,
and certainly the politicization of it all has been a
national topic. But just watching these folks with their twenty

(20:23):
four on and you know, we talk with Jay Glazer
and what they've been able to do on the beaches
to give people some comfort and respite and then fox
this weekend, here find an hour to take a break
and watch part of a football game. The simple things
we're taking for granted. It's like that's their first break
in days, right, So just an amazing coordinated effort and

(20:46):
really just just awesome to behold.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
And the rain can't get here fast enough this weekend.
We're supposed to get a lot of rain this week
and it cannot get here fast enough. I wish we
had a weather machine like they did in days of
our lives, like thirty years ago. We control the weather
and make it rain. Man, Let's make it rain. Let's
do it. Let's have that. I think Stefano had that.
I think Stefano had the.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Weather when he was running things. The merciless Jason.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
You know what else can't come fast enough? What else
is that for us? The needle for oh man, I'll
tell you. Uh, we'll get to the Lakers coming up
in his side. It's a little harsh. It's a little harsh. Okay,
I'm sorry. The electric chair. Okay, it's a little harsh.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Uh we want to stone them, but.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Okay, hey, look I get stoned after the show. Just
that's not good enough. I know there's some hot lead
you can pour down his throat. Wow, you'd be a
great bad guy in a movie with some kind of
great way to torture the hero to death.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
The wheel.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
But yes, the Epe story, we promise you this a
few minutes ago. New wrinkle to the Epe show, Hey
O Tani gambling story from last spring training. Now nearly
almost a year ago, uh Ipe Masahar, who was sho
he A Tani's longtime translator, of course, is busted for
siphoning money from show he up to seventeen million dollars

(22:09):
to pay off gambling debts. And this was an eye
opening story that dominated the headlines for the whole week
leading up to opening weekend in Major League base Member,
the Dodgers were playing overseas, and it became the story
Epey and show here were in the in the dugout
right before the game and then suddenly this story breaks.
Never saw Epe again. Well, prosecutors today are now officially

(22:33):
recommending a fifty seven month prison sentence for Epe Masar.
And that's you know a little over five years, just
to do the math, because you know, twelve months for
little less than five years, and they also want him
to repay the seventeen million dollars. There is also an
audio tape that has been released of eBay calling one

(22:55):
of Sho Hay's banks, impersonating show Hey o Tani to
get money transferred to a bank account that belongs to
a quote gambler gambling site. And this is e Bay.
This is real life. This is not like fake audio.
It's like, oh my god, it's gonna we're playing Revenge
of the Nerds. No, no, it's it's gonna be No.
This is this is audio. The Athletic had it. We

(23:17):
played you the first thirty seconds of it, which was
released a couple hours ago. Now we have a full minute.
This is e Bay calling a bank. He wants two
hundred thousand dollars released to an account because, as he says,
he wants to get a loan to buy a car.
Here he is impersonating. The two voices you're gonna hear
are Epe and the person he's calling at the bank
to get the funds revealed, well, am.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
I speaking with.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
So Hi o'conne.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Thank you man, I help you. I tried to make
a hyer transfer a couple of days ago they called
me that that's probably the reason. So they transferred me
to this number. All righty, now the number ending zero
three seven three, is that the best contact number?

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Four you?

Speaker 4 (24:01):
Yes, okay, So I'm going to send a one time
authorization code to your text messaging. Can't you provide me
with that six digit code when it become available?

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (24:12):
Okay. What is the reason for this transaction for a
car loan? Okay? You said it's for a car loan? Yes, okay.
What is your relationship to the paye?

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (24:29):
Will there be any future wars to your to your friend?

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Part She's on it, man, she is on it. She's
like you know, she's she's like when you see uh,
And I'm watching a lot of Day of the Jackal
right now with that Redmond, which is phenomenal, My goodness,
is it phenomenal? And like every time you have to
you know in Europe when when you travel country to
country you got to show your passport everything else. But
like every time he tries to travel, someone suspicious of here?

(25:01):
Why are you here? And why are you hearing Budapest?
You know, why are you huh? What's the purpose of
your visit? What do you do it like you get
somebody who's really suspicious and you're always he gonna get caught?
Is he gonna get caught? But like she's like, why
is this? Why are you asking for this money? Why
do you know you need a loan for a car?

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (25:17):
I mean she seems like she's really on it. But
look look at look at epe just very how easy. Yeah,
Shoe Hayatani. Yeah, I need a loan for a car. Yeah,
here's my I have show Hay's phone. Here's the phone.
You can send the text to to get the to
get the code and put it in. Like, wow, this
is so cold blooded, man, this is not He's not
even like trying to like sound like she's just yeah,

(25:37):
I'm going I'm Sho Hayatani. Yeah that's who I am.
This is me. Okay, great, I'm going forward. This really
is I mean, this is like from a movie. This
is like from a Born movie or something.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Beginning steps, you know, I'm sure more details will come out,
like you're trying to get fifty seven months on a guy.
I mean that's considering some of this sentence is we've
seen for crimes one would consider more heinous. Now Obviously
I'm not the guy that lost tens of millions of
dollars like show Hao Tani. It's obviously egregious to him.

(26:10):
And you know the difference between some of the crimes
of passion and you know, financial crimes. We see that,
but certainly they're they're throwing the book at him here.
I can't wait to see the rest of the laundry
list of things here, I need two hundred thousand dollars
for a car. We know he went and bought a
ton of high priced baseball cards along the way, not

(26:33):
to mention all the gambling debts and wherever those monies
were being funneled, and who he talked to. I like,
the suspicion in her voice almost is like, all right,
we're gonna set up another line of profile because if
this goes bad, we need to track whoever you're sending
to here.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
You know, because think about that, because you know, okay,
here's a woman like does she know who show Hao
Tani is one of the moost famous people on the planet? Right,
odds are you know you know who show Hao Tani is?
Like she's got access to his his bank, everything else,
because she's the bank and and is that a huge
red flag that goes up for her right away? Going
here's a guy that's worth in the in the multiple,

(27:11):
you know, probably over you know, one hundred million dollars
net worth is over well over one hundred million dollars,
and he needs two hundred grand for a car loan?
Like does that make sense? I wondered, like was this
part of what got you know, EPA found out? Because
was this red flag? I mean, we don't know, we
don't know any details on it. But if I found
the if I'm taking this and I know who show

(27:31):
heo tani is, I'm saying, wait a minute, you have
all kinds of you need two hundred grand for a loan?
You really you don't have that line around you have
for a loan Carlan, really for car I'm looking at
your account, sir, I can't even read to the end
of it. You have so much money and this is
not even counting because all your Dodge money got deferred,
Like I mean, you still have a ton of money
in your account here, Like I really wonder if this

(27:53):
was something that really put them onto epay and and
because here it was released that here he is trying
to get the money off of you know, from show
Hayes Banking, and maybe this was red flag and stop
because of that.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Well, I mean, look, I know you're a big swinger,
so you're well aware of the two hundred and fifty
thousand dollars limit fdi CE insured at each bank. So
might not have all those millions. And she may really
not know who he is. She sounds skeptical of just
the way this guy approaches the conversation.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Well he does. What's your name?

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Show?

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Yeah, I got right here. Yeah, I need to wait,
Carl Carlin.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, yeah, i'f only had the uh, you know, upward
end of the name, as if he were Ron Bergundy.
I mean, it would have made it that much better.
I'm show Toddy. Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
That's but the whole thing is, you know, yes, with
the money, you can only you know, move so much money.
But you don't have that money to buy a car
like you know, I see your portfolio here. You don't
have that money to take from somewhere to buy a
car like That's what I mean. Where the red flag's
gotta go up going?

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Yeah, it doesn't.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
This doesn't seem right here, This doesn't seem right.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
They may not have a safe with pile's cash in it,
I mean, and you would have to do some online banking.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
But or was this something that went through? Like Okay,
they put the money through and this is how they
helped catch and this is two hundred grand of the
seventeen million dollars that he was able to embezzle.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
This small taste maybe this was the theory testing wow
episode for eBay Real and then he got this taste,
and then he got the taste of the power, and
then he went back to the poker table and he
lost to other baseball players and people around the dugouts. Yeah,
there's a lot more to come from this, as well

(29:37):
as a movie of the Week.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Oh, I mean, I really want to know so much
more about this. This is just fascinating now with this
audio of him impersonating show Hey to try to get
cash exit out about a Fresco exit swollen dome a
Jason Smith show with Mike Carmon, Lifethtirack dot Com Studios.
Now to someone who tried to impersonate me with my
bank to try to get ten dollars to buy a
big Mac. It's Manti Bologos.

Speaker 5 (29:58):
And they told me you didn't have ten.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
He doesn't have it.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
He doesn't have the You're gonna overdraw by three dollars.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
You need another big ma the maam. He does not
need another big mac.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
Maam does not does not need another big Mac.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
No, you look fabulous. Thank you. When what was the
last time you had a big Mac?

Speaker 5 (30:14):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (30:14):
My god, in a minute. When are you going to
treat yourself? Maybe in the month, Okay, I know. Well
that's the thing is. I know all the food will
still be there, right you're wanting. Yes, at the at
the end of February, we're out of chocolate ice cream?
Wait what the entire country's out of chocolate?

Speaker 3 (30:29):
Might be like the McRib, it goes away.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yeah, yeah, the mic rib never goes away.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
The big Mac's gonna go.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Well, I showed you the hack that I found online,
so you're all good.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Oh yeah, yeah, get yeah. If you wud like a
double double and you added cheese and took the pickles
off and added big Mac sauce, like, it's almost like
getting a big Mac for way less money.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Oh nice?

Speaker 1 (30:51):
Yes, Oh, I love those hacks.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
I love those hacks.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
All right, we're gonna start in the NFL fellas, where
the story just kept on giving Buccaneers offensive coordinator Lee
Cohen what is he doing?

Speaker 2 (31:01):
We know that he has.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
Informed Tampa Bay that he will be taking the Jaguars
head coaching job. This is according to multiple reports.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
The Athletic reports that.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
The forty nine ers are expected to land Robert Sala
for a second stint at San Francisco's defensive coordinator. We
know who the NBA All Star starters are going to be.
Out of the West, Shay Gilgi, Alexander, Steph Curry, Lebron James,
Kevin Durant, and Nicola Jokic.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Out of the East, Donovan.

Speaker 5 (31:24):
Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, Jason Tatum, Janna Santete Koumpo, who led
in fan voting, and Carl Anthony Towns. In the NBA,
the Nuggets defeated the Kings one thirty two to one
twenty three, where Nicola Jokic had thirty five points, twenty
two rebounds, and seventeen assists, becoming the second player in
NBA history with the thirty five twenty and fifteen stat line.

(31:44):
Wilt Chamberlain dropped the first one back in nineteen sixty eight.
The Clippers beat the Wizards one ten to ninety three
behind a triple double from James Harden seventeen points, twelve rebounds,
thirteen assists. The Lakers blew out the Celtics one seventeen
to ninety six. The Mavericks outscored the Thunder one twenty
one to one fifteen, while the Warriors had a one
thirty one to one oh six win over the Bulls,

(32:04):
and the Bucks crushed the Heat one twenty five to
ninety six. In men's college hoops, Maryland upset number seventeen
Illinois ninety one to seventy. In the NHL, the Capitol
shout out the Kraken three zero. Alex Ovechkin with career
goal number eight hundred and seventy five, he is now
twenty goals away from passing Wayne Gretzky. And at the
Australian Open, a surprise that Novak Djokovic had to withdraw

(32:28):
after losing the first set of his semi final match
against Alexander Zvedev because of a leg injury. That match
lasted one hour and twenty minutes. And lastly here the
National Women's Soccer League is adding a sixteenth franchise in Denver.
ESPN report said it will be announced next week.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Guys, it's been fun.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Thank you very much. Mind see always a pleasure. See
you soon. Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmen Love from
the tirerack dot Com Student's all right, coming up next, Yes,
we'll break down the Lakers big win over the Celtic
How real do we take it? Plus, the NFL MVP
finalists were announced today and if you were doing the
MVP up until this past weekend, the winner would be
somebody who's not a finalist. We'll tell you who it

(33:12):
is next Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon live from the tyrack dot Com studios.
And Yeah, the Lakers with maybe their biggest win of
the year this year. They steam roll the Celtics, who
are coming off of the second night of back to backs.
They beat the shorthanded Clippers tonight, No such luck. What

(33:49):
does this mean? What does this mean? Yeah? Call me
when the Lakers can actually put a few games like
this too, So win a game or two. You think
everything is great, Look how good they're gonna be. Then
they lose a couple of game. This is who they are.
This is who they are, right And here's where I'm at.
If I'm Rob Polinka and I'm Genie Buss, I'm like, okay,

(34:10):
you know, I'm just sick of all of this. Anthony
Davis said going into night's game, did a big interview
he and Lebron that both said extremely motivated to keep
winning a championship. Ad says, we need a center. If
we had a center, we'd be great. Wanted to compare
the roster they had in twenty twenty when he says,
our roster was perfect because I'm better when I play
the four, and you know, someone like you know, we

(34:32):
had JaVale McGee playing the five, and this is what
we need. That's a perfect roster. And you know what
I do. If I call Lebron and I call a
d and I go okay, because you know what, it's
pretty easy to get a guy like JaVale McGee to
come in and play. You can get a couple of
guys in the deadline centers like that. You can get
a couple of guys I go fine, I will get

(34:52):
you these guys, and you never ever complain again about
a player you want to sign. I'm still reeling from
when you guys said bring in Russell Bleep in Westbrook. Okay,
the whole team is still reeling from that decision. So
I will get you a center and maybe two centers
because you need a couple of guys to play all
the minutes. Okay, and then you never ask me for

(35:13):
somebody again.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
Never do.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
I'll get you this. But then that's it. We're done.
I'm done negotiating. You're not gonna GM things. You're not
gonna have Rich Paul call me at midnight and say
we need this. They call me two hours later and say,
forget that we need this. No, I will get you
this center. But this is it. You're not playing GM
anymore because that's my job. I will get you the
centers that you need, and you never do this again.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
A right. Tell them to just call JaVale McGee. He's available,
played forty six games last year for Sacramento.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
He's still got some basketball left in him. Three time champion,
Come on, do it. There's guys out there. I mean,
I don't know that you want a twenty twenty four,
twenty twenty five version of Javal McGee.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
But he's aged, Like these guys have kind of years.
What's Jared Vanderbilt going to be available?

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yeah, right, Like he's supposed to be coming back soon, right.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
But not that he's a sound but he's another body
that they thought would be part of their defensive rotation.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
I mean, you know, and and I you know, I
like that from Ad. But this is why I'm so
I'm so, you know I'm done with this, is that
Ad says, Hey, this was our best team we worked.
We won a championship with Javal McGee and Dwight Howard
at the five. So what you're saying is everything you
guys have, the money you spent on Austin Reeves, everything
you've done to reconfigure this roster, trading away D'Angelo Russell,

(36:33):
what you need is a twenty twenty five version of
a twenty twenty Javal McGee and Dwight Howard. That's what
you're saying is gonna win you a championship when you
have twenty twenty five versions of these guys from four
years ago, not Dwight Howard from two thousand and nine. No,
Dwight Howard from twenty twenty and Javal McGee, who's just
a guy. This is what you're saying, we need to

(36:55):
win a title. This is why I'm like, fine, I'll
get you these guys, but I'm never doing it again.
Like it's not say we need a sharpsh, we need
a guy, we need this, we need this and that. No, no, no,
we just need a couple of jags at center to
come in. But that's what we need to win a championship. Okay,
I'll get those guys. That's why I'm like done. I'm like, okay, fine,
you guys want to keep playing, it's the last time
you get to play GM, then I want you to
be done. Just be happy with the roster we have.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
I like this. It's a strong message and in theory
that gets you into the second half of the season.
Just fine. And then they're gonna laugh and say sure,
we'll do that until the next loss or when they
get chesty after a win like this're gonna look, tomorrow's

(37:39):
another day. There's more column inches to fill. There's more.
There's more local newscasts that need a good SoundBite, and
and they're a fun story, right, six games over five
hundred Lebron. The highlight for me of the game was
he was going in for a dunk and Porzingis backed
off and then he just stared at him till he
was about at half court.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
Yeah, kind of funny.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Ads trying to go over and get back, you know,
high five or whatever, and he's just staring back and
for a second like, Yeah, it would have been a
stupid foality and given poor Zingis' frame, he probably would
have gotten himself hurt getting run over by Lebron. So
I've lived to see another day. But look, man, the
show's tonight to find find those wins as you can.

(38:22):
I wish you could come out with that strong statement
of I'm done with all of your complaining in the media.
But and maybe JJ Reddick's just the guy to do that.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
Maybe maybe he's the guy to following up.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Look, we're not doing the podcast anymore. It's not my
turn to bring the wine for the podcast. No, let's go.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
Jason Smithson with Mike carmon lifttirack dot com studio. So
we'll see how that goes, right again, call me when
they win a couple of games. Now, the story to
finish with tonight because clearly you want to see just
the impact that this kid has had in the NFL.
The MVP finalists in the NFL were announced today. NOI
the five finalists are gonna come down to to win
NFL MVP, and they are Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow,

(39:12):
Jared Goff, Lamar Jackson, in alphabetical order by last name.
If you are doing the MVP through the end of
the regular season, from that five, it's Saquon Barkley. If
you are doing the MVP through last weekend, the NFL
MVP is Jaden Daniels. Because you see these five, Joe

(39:34):
Burrow did not carry his team to the playoffs. Jared
Goff lost was awful last weekend. Oh, by the way,
against Jayden Daniels, who carried his team into the NFC
Championship game. Lamar Jackson is home. Josh Allen was good,
not world beating Saquon Barkley still is phenomenal. But boy,
if you're splitting hairs between Barkley and Jaden Daniels, man,
I'll tell you he has a lot of open holes

(39:55):
to run through. He's not one of those Jamior Gibbs.
He's got that little crack and daylight and he's gone, no, no, no.
That's why he can say things like watch this on
this run because he knows he's gonna have five guys
that are just gonna blow the doors off of the opponents. Uh.
He's still got a great offensive line. Even with Jason
Kelsey's retirement, Jaden Daniels is still doing it all by

(40:16):
himself with skill position players that are the worst of
all the play teams left and maybe the worst going
into the playoffs, and still Jaden Daniels elevates the Washington
Commanders to where they're at. If you're talking about it
going through up until now, Daniels is the MVP, but
you're not. It's gonna go through the end of the season.
And that's got to be Barkley.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
Well, I know it's Josh Allen. It's but I like
your say I long.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
I would say Josh Allen, but it's seventeen weeks long.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
But he does come to the table with fewer top
notch weapons around him, right, Scary Terry better than James Cook.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
James James Cook has had a pretty good year. He's
at sixteen touchdowns. James Cook is in a pretty good year.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
I'm not saying he hasn't. Terry McLaurin, different Guy.
