Tirec dot com help you get there.

Cole coming up at about twenty minutes. All the big
NFL news that digests as we get closer and closer
to the Super Bowl. Teams are and filling out making hires.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
But today.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
I saw something, Mike, where sometimes there's a quote that
I'll see an athlete or a coach make that just
really sticks out to me as telling whether they meant
it as an over the top. I want people to
read into this or I can read into it, because
this is kind of the frame of mind that this

(01:28):
person is in.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Wow, this should go any one of like ninety seven
ways from all the stories I read today.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
I can't wait to see which to venture you choose.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
And this is about no And this is about the
Cowboys and Brian Schottenheimer being the new head coach.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
We've talked about this from so many different angles. Right,
But today Dak Prescott was asked about his feeling about Schottenheimer. Right,
because he showed up at the press conference yesterday. Him
and other Cowboy players went there and look, and I
give Dak the nod this This was not a very
popular hire. And still he's felt I needed to be

(02:07):
there for him, and I'm there. He's been my OC
He's always been someone that's checked in on me. I
need to be there. Other players are there. I thought
that was a really good look. Right, it's a really
good look for the Cowboys. Also a little bit more
of a boy. This was really screwed up. We got
to show up here to make it look good, right,
Jerry Jones has to defend Brian Schottenneimber. We need to
show up to make it look like we're all on
board with this hiring. But what he said when he

(02:30):
was at the end of his statement about Schottenheimer really
stuck out to me, and it really encapsulized, encapsulates everything
with the Schottenheimer higher with the Cowboys is that he talks,
you know, to the Cowboys website saying how Schottenheimer has
been consistent, that's why he's gotten his job here. I
wanted to go to the press conference to support him.

(02:50):
I'm proud of him, I'm proud of taking advantage of
this opportunity. I wanted to show him, Hey, I'm gonna
be here with you and for you. Okay, everything great
so far. Then he says, this not only what he
signs for four years. I got four years left on
my contract. He's tied directly to my future, So let's
go be the best that we can in these four years.

(03:11):
He's tied directly to my future, So let's go be
the best that we can these four years. This is
not hey, we're gonna go wreck this league. This is
not a where he's got ideas that we're gonna go
and people aren't gonna be able to stand and handle
what we're gonna throw at them. When you say, yeah,
my future is tied to Brian Schottenheimer, that's not an

(03:32):
inspiring quote. That is a hey, we all have to
suck it up, and I have to suck it up
because my future is tied to this guy. When you
say your future is tied to someone, that's never a
great thing. That's never an overarching bit of vote of
confidence or being happy to be in this situation. When
you say he's tied directly to my future, this is

(03:53):
a warning sign. This is I don't know how it's
gonna go. I think we all have to suck it
up and go and make the best we can of this.
That's really what he said. Let's go be the best
we can be. He's tied directly to my future. This
is all you need. That sums up the hiring of
Brian Schottenheimer is that everybody just has to suck it
up because this is Jerry Jones. This is what he does.

(04:16):
These are the decisions that he made. And it's a
great world to live in because the Cowboys get all
kinds of attention more than anywhere else. And Dak Prescott's
getting paid hundreds of millions of dollars more because he's
the quarterback of the Cowboys than he was the quarterback
of the Arizona Cardinals and put up the same numbers
that he did. But understand that this is what it is.
You're tied directly to my future Jerry Jones. You are

(04:38):
tied to everything Jerry Jones wants to do. And that's
what this is. A part of hiring Brian Schottenheimer is
what he decided to do. Not go out and if
we're gonna get rid of Mike McCarthy, who Dak Prescott
loved and played really well under. I mean, he got
hurt this year, so it's an incomplete for this year,
but he played well under in previous years. He just
sucked in the playoffs, but overall in the regular season

(04:58):
he was pretty good. I liked playing for Mike McCarthy.
Everything went okay. Now it's not so now here's a
guy coming in that now where my future is tied
directly to him. In what circumstance? Do you hear somebody
say that and it sounds like an overwhelming compliment for
that person, it's not. It's just, well, my future is tied.
We gotta go do it. Let's make the best out

(05:19):
of this we can. Wow, that's really not inspiring, But
that's the Dallas Cowboys because at the whims of Jerry Jones,
you have to just that this is the world you
live in and you have to just make the best
of it while you can. And maybe it's not about championships.
Maybe it's not about winning Super Bowls. Maybe it's not
about getting to the NFC Championship Game. It's just when
decisions like this are made, you just have to put

(05:40):
your best foot forward and suck it up and try
to do the best you can. This is the Dallas Cowboys.
This quote tells you everything you need to know about
the Cowboys.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
I mean, maybe we're nitpicking a little bit, but yeah,
I think the word choice could have been better down
the stretch. I already have a couple of years of
working together and kind of have to decide. I guess
if you're Dak Prescott, whether that's worked for or against
you when you were able to be on the field
and now he's your only voice. So yeah, saying that

(06:12):
you're here linked together for this run, I guess you
just state in the obvious.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
So I'm not gonna kill you too much.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
But it's also just the recognition of, all right, we
got a four year window here and we got to
make it as grant. I mean, did he use air
quotes like Stephen Jones did?

Speaker 1 (06:28):
I don't know that you have a window in Dallas.
I think you just have, Well, we have the next
four years.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
I don't think.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
I'm saying you got four years to climb out of it.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
It before you have to build a window, and then
you have to make sure it's okay. They make sure
the window works, and then you can worry about opening
the window.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Yeah, I'm not saying you're actually, you know, in any
substitute winning window, just saying there's one in the room. Ah,
you're you're both trying to go through the room to
see if you can't find it and stumble upon it
along the way. But yeah, it's it's a difficult choice word.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
He's in a bad spot right because he's hurt and.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
He saw his team play really well, or at least
better more consistent football down the stretch, as we talked
about in prior episodes.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Folks can find the podcast.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Wherever you get the audio I've wondered did they do
it for Shoddy.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
Or did they do it for McCarthy.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
And we had some fun with that and McCarthy whether
he'd become too much of a rallying point for players.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
And the Joneses didn't like it.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Stephen Jones with his drought air quote thing talking about winning,
you know, championships and winning, It's like, no, no, no, that's
a very real thing. That's not an air quote situation.
That's not a hey, depending on your point of view.
Although their point of view is we're making a lot
of money. The league is making a lot of money.

(07:52):
We're winning even if we're not winning. But for Dak Prescott, yeah,
his legacy at this point is really tied to whatever
he can do with Shoddheimer.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
I feel like he's shrugging his shoulders, going whatever, I
got four years left on my Like I have four
years left on my He's already at the I got
four years left on my contract part of it, Like
I'm already looking at my guy. I got four years left,
all right, I got four I just signed it last year.
I got four years left. Now what am I going to?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
But you see how quickly things change, though, right. I
mean we were talking when we had locking for on
Monday before my voice absolutely abdicated the throne and asking
him about the hires to be and look at what
Liam Cohen's hiring process.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
Was to get to Jacksonville.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
You've had seven straight years where you've had a coach
fired after one year. Who the hell knows whether this works.
We do know this, Dallas doesn't change on a dime.
So you're probably getting all four of those years together,
unless Dak's able to extricate himself from the situation, which
might be why he he starts to dance with the

(09:02):
verbiage at the back end of that statement, because it
started off all fine and good.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Right, Hey, we know each other, we work together, and
now we're stuck together for four years. Let's go.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
But that's but that's the cowboys like this. That's why
this quote means so much. It it sums up the organization. Yep,
we're tied directly because if you're there Jerry Jones and
these ridiculous decisions that he makes, you are tied to these.
You can't get away from it. You can't get away
from these decisions because he's the one that decided not
gonna talk to any other coaches that are out. Not

(09:33):
gonna talk to Ben Johnson, not gonna talk to Rabel,
not gonna talk to Aaron Gwnn. Nope, just gonna wait
and elevate Brian Schottenneyman. That's what I'm gonna do. Okay,
You're tied to whatever whatever the whims he has or
whatever he is deciding at that moment in time. Now, Yes,
are you when you work for a company, are you
tied to what your bosses want to do? Yeah, But

(09:54):
mainly you work in a place where, hey, we're trying
to do well, we're trying to make money. Like I
don't know if the Cowboys even trying to win, Like
I don't know how much said right, how much they're
trying to win. So that's what I mean. You are
tied to the whims of Jerry Jones. But it's like, hey,
our futures are tied together. Like, I'm not confident that
you're that you're built a team to win. I'm not

(10:14):
confident you know how to build a team to win.
I'm not confident that you're actually building the team to win.
The only thing I'm confident is that you hired a
guy who's a coach that's still gonna enable you to
be the number one guy in the organization, and there's
no other voice that's gonna challenge it. Which is why
I said Mike McCarthy. Was he let go because he
didn't win this year or because he had too big
a voice with the team and the players rallied behind

(10:35):
him and they played hard for him. And Jerry Jones
said no, no, no, can't have that. Let's go to
Brian Schottenneimer because I know he doesn't have that cache
in the locker room, and I'll still be.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
The number one voice like this.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
That's the difference between Hey, I get the vision that
our owner has or or our general manager has.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
This is.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
I don't know what he's thinking at any time. He
wasn't gonna give anybody big money this offseason. And we're
gonna have a reset after this year. Okay, now we're
gonna go after other Nope, just gonna give uploaded contract
to CD Lamb, a bloaded contract to Dak Prescott and
here we are again. We can't go out and spend
money in free agency. We're not gonna get better. This
is a team that wasn't very good. That lost a
lot of games. How are we gonna get better? Like

(11:13):
like you, you are tied to an owner who has
been just spinning his wheels for thirty years. It's part
of what goes along with when you sign up for
the Cowboys. But I mean, that's why this this statement
by Dak Prescott, I go, this could be the Cowboys motto,
Dallas Cowboys, We're tied to each other like that, that
would be that would be the great With a big
picture of Jerry Jones smiling, that would be the big
load of it. We're tied to each other. A big

(11:34):
smile with the dollar signs on the edge whereas cheeks are.
That should be the logo for the Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
Well, we'll work on an AI version of that by
the time the night ends.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
But you know, we always have lumped them together kind
of the laughing stock take the take the Bears off
to the side, the Jets off to the side for
the moment, But the Cowboys and the Raiders come up
frequently when we're having these conversations about ownership and.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
Being able to get out of the way.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
I will get Mark Davis credit for one huge thing,
And I'm sorry if I missed it if you guys
touched on it yesterday. But the idea of him, he
did a lot of crying about the loss of John
Gruden from that room and how that set him back
because that was gonna be his trusted right hand man
for football.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Thing. Jerry's never had that guy.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
Okay, at least Mark Davis for all of the foibles,
for all of the problems that are Raider Nation, he
at least seems to recognize that was a big thing missing.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Jerry's still looking at going. I'm the football guy. That's
why I bought this team. I like football, Remember Jimmy
and I with football?

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Jason, what do you got Frost? I would agree with
everything you said. Okay, if their Super Bowl drought was
a real thing. Oh that's true.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
That's an opinion. That's true, Stephen Jones. It's only a
drought if you think it is. It's not really a drought. No, no, no,
they're still winning.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
Man.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
I'm if that was real, I'd understand everything you guys
just said.

Speaker 1 (13:06):

Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmen
Live and the Tire Studios. And I didn't know if
it'd ever be on the air to say something like this,
but at eight twenty two pm Pacific time tonight, Thursday,
January twenty ninth, this is the lowest point in the

(15:19):
history of Syracuse basketball. They trail Stanford twenty two to two.
Stanford started this game at a seventeen to run and
it's not football it's college basketball. Yeah, on our way
to what's going to be the worst regular season Syracuse
has had in over thirty the worst season we've had

(15:40):
since Beyhein's was the coach before he retired. This is
the low point in Syracuse basketball history. So with that
in mind, let's bring out a very proud Stanford grad
right now who was enjoying this twenty point bulge. He
is a Hall of Very Good voter because Stanford's been
playing very good tonight with a thirty third team. He

(16:01):
helped the Jets find Aaron Glenn and Steve Wilkes. Yeah,
he is longtime friend of the show. Jason Cole, Jay Cole,
what's happening?

Speaker 6 (16:10):
All right now? Baby? All right now? Let him play?
Let it play.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
We heard enough of it. Okay, we heard enough. We
heard enough.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
That's not what he's round up.

Speaker 6 (16:29):
Oh it's beautiful.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
You get that because because you haven't, I haven't given
you a sandwich in a while?

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Is your yearly payment? You got that there?

Speaker 6 (16:40):
That that you haven't give me a sandwich of this decade.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Who's the last person that came to LA and didn't
tell us you were in town?

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Was that all right?

Speaker 5 (16:49):
That was you.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
I forgot about that.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
Not try and like get one over on me. It's
just what is it like twenty seven to three now
or something like.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
That, it's twenty two you.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
Yeah, it's it's nice that we own we own another
school on the East coast. It's good. It's good that
we purchased Syracuse and we just own them, just own Syracuse.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Well, listen, you're Stanford.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
You needed you needed our academic excellence to really pump
up your resume.

Speaker 6 (17:19):
Oh yeah that works. Yeah, that line work. Yeah, that landed,
That really landed. That that just went went. Yeah, that's
the strong. Yeah, we're gonna go with the academic excellence
one against against Stanford.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Yes, has there been a matchup in sports of two
more expensive colleges to get into then Syracuse?

Speaker 6 (17:44):
Wow? Wow?

Speaker 4 (17:45):
That that Division one though, yeah?

Speaker 3 (17:49):
D one, D one obviously D one. I don't know
that one match.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
Yeah, let's say there has probably never been a T
one matchup more expensive than those two. Oh yeah, like man,
that's that's the one plus plus plus Oh yeah yeah wow.
And and not and not about athletic accidents, but what
about about the bill you got to pay? Oh wow,

(18:16):
that's that's ugly. Okay, all right, well.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Let's start here because I know I've been waiting to hear,
because I know you got something special.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
We've had the drama all week.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Brian Schottenheimer introduced as a Cowboys head coach, and Dak
Prescott said earlier today, Hey, he's tied to my future,
which is a which is a really big statement full
of confidence. Uh you know what, what's your big takeaway
from this whole thing that started with firing Mike McCarthy
and ended with Brian Schottenheimer.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
I can't remember which person.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Change.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Oh we lost we lost him.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
See that's what happened when he star up being cocky
and arrogant, Mike har and you start talking about a
my school could beat you in sports and we're smart.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
And this is what happens.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
What did I tell you?

Speaker 4 (18:59):
It was like the Hubris and the Bravado of the Lions.
Eventually the football gods were coming back to smite you,
and they did in that game against Washington.

Speaker 5 (19:09):
Now they're my problem. But that's what got Jason Cole
right there.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
All right, let's see if we got it back now, Jake.

Speaker 6 (19:15):
Call you there, I am here. Can you hear me
very good.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Yes, we got you now, okay.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
So Jerry Jones is now pushing the envelope on making
his fans disinterested, like the one thing that Jerry was
always able to do was to keep the soap opera alive.
Like he is the Susan Lucci of NFL owners. He
really is, you know, and he could, he could sell.

(19:43):
And there's a guy you know, classically ice Eskimos he
can do it, you know, like absolutely right this time,
I think he's crossed that line into like everybody's looking going, Jerry,
are you kidding here? You know, like it's you know,
the jig is up, it's over. You're you're you know,

(20:06):
you can say all the time you want, you'll pay
a mem out, but you just settle for a guy
who was cheap, you know, and and around, who will
do whatever your your bidding is. It's become more obvious
than ever before. And it's obvious that, you know, with McCarthy,
he was willing to walk away even if he had

(20:26):
no job guarantee. That's how little he thought of the situation.
And that tells you how little everybody in the NFL
thinks of the situation. That that Mike McCarthy walked away
from this without a guarantee of a job, Like that's
an amazing statement, and you've ended up with Brian Schottenheimer,

(20:50):
who who knows. I mean, you know it may work,
but certainly there's no resume to prove it, none, zero, zilch.
So I'm on a thread with a bunch of guys,
you know, we talk all sorts of trash about fancy football,
and there are two Cowboys fans. I mean, they are
die hard Cowboys fans. They believe to the very end,

(21:13):
and they were like, like it was basically I'm done.
One of them didn't even respond to all the harassing
we gave him after the Schottenheimer hiring, and it's I mean,
I'm telling you, it's some ugly stuff. Like it is.
It is awful. Okay to be on this thread if

(21:33):
you're going to get to mean right, And we gave
it to him, and one guy just went like radio silent,
and the other one was just like you know, waving
the white flag. He didn't even fight back, which just
tells you where Cowboys fans are, Like they realized they're
screwed until Jerry passes away.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
But the droughts and opinions. Stephen Jones even said it yesterday. Hey,
this drought, this quote drought we've been in for thirty years.
Like that's only your opinion.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
They haven't won.

Speaker 6 (22:06):
Well, welcome to America. We make up our reality and
you can you can use that statement on so many levels.
But I will just leave it right there. You can
interpret however you want. Yeah, it's thirty thirty years. You know,
it just says we haven't won, but we've really accomplished
a lot.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
You can put it on the board. Yes, all, all right,
So how much the officient aiding crew screw up the
Super Bowl?

Speaker 6 (22:37):
How much will they screw up the Super Bowl?

Speaker 7 (22:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (22:39):
How much will they do?

Speaker 6 (22:40):
This?

Speaker 5 (22:40):
Sir?

Speaker 4 (22:40):
You know everybody's got to ask you know where it
comes into play.

Speaker 6 (22:45):
Oh, they'll be they'll be something awful. It happens, you
know it, because it have to happen. You have to
blame the officials in any big game right now. That's
just the way it is. And there's no break for
those guys at all. There be you know, they should
always be accountable. But it it just tells you that

(23:06):
instead of looking at the refs, everybody should just look
at Roger and say, Roger, you've got expedited replays. You've
gotten to the point where you can just get through
calls in you know, five to six seconds and move on.
Get the call correct. Do it. You still have to
have officials on the field, and coaches want officials on

(23:27):
the field because what people don't understand, it's not about
just the fishating game. It's operating the game right. It's
like making sure it doesn't turn to a burl, because
football games are really just like two plays, two plays
removed from a street play the game.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
So you have.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
We got to get him back.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
I think Roger Goodell got him pissed off. Jerry Jones,
he got him. And how you went after the king Pin.
I got the king fin took him down.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
I got that learn on my phone. Someone saying bad
things about me. I have triangulated it. It's that Jason
Cole again. Let me just let me just zap his phone.
It's on A I got. I got it on A
on a speed dial. I could just zap his phone,
age him to stop talking.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
There we go. That's good. That clock I gotta take.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
I keep I keep having a call Jim Porter and
asked Uh, get this guy out of voting for the
Hall of Fame. What's going on? All the criticism I
always get from him?

Speaker 5 (24:21):
Hey, that's coming up next week.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Man, Yeah, we're getting there. Look, we're getting there. There's
gonna be some very good players getting into the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
Next week, very very very good.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
NFL honor is very good. I mean, very very very
good players that are getting it.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Jake Cole are just talking about all the very good
players you're gonna allow in the Hall of Fame next week.

Speaker 6 (24:39):
They're all great players. They're all great players of them really,
And I gotta say it, and I gotta say it
this way because I think Jerry Jones has gotten into
my phone and is trying to attack me, Like, don't
make me responsible for that. Yeah, I'm sorry, Roger.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
I think it's I think Adele just zapped your phone
like he has you want he just app Roger.

Speaker 6 (25:01):
Roger, it's gonna be well, it's gonna be a great
Hall of Fame class. It's gonna be a great Hall
of Fame class, right without with.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Okay, without anything, because I know you. Look, you've been a.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
Long time vote to say great again, You've.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Been a long time vote, it's great? How great is
it? It's great? But how great it's? So?

Speaker 6 (25:20):
It's great, it's famous.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Okay with without giving the very fame because it's a
hall of fame, uh, without giving anything away and not
anything that went inside with the voting. If I said
what players you thought were going to get in?

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Who do you say? Who do you think is going
to get in?

Speaker 6 (25:38):
I can't. I can't. I mean, I appreciate the effort,
but I can't do this. I just can't. I do
have a I have made a promise that I'm not
going to reveal anything anything, and I know I know
who the seven guys are who made it to the end. Okay,
So I can't do that.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
There you go, it's down to seven.

Speaker 6 (26:00):
I appreciate, I appreciate the question and the efforts to
kind of dance around just tell us, you know that
kind of thing, but I just can't.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Frostburg says, if Antonio Gates doesn't get in, you're never
on the show again.

Speaker 5 (26:14):
Just so you know, like that, this is it. This
is the last, that's all last dance.

Speaker 6 (26:24):
I love Rosbery. I just can't respond to this. I
just it's maybe the last word you ever say to me,
I have no idea.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
We'll see, Okay, I'm just trying to get Peanut Tillman
back on since everybody's now doing the peanut punch.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
Yeah, I think I think wants to Aaron Glenn in Oh.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
You know, if Aaron Glenn wins the super Bowl with
the Jets, you are voting for him first ballot until
he gets in. I don't that's the deal we're making
right now. If he wins the super Bowl with the Jets,
you are voting for him and I get to go.

Speaker 6 (26:56):
Do I get more than two sandwiches in the next
forty years?

Speaker 5 (26:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah, yeah, I'll bring you a saying no, you let
me talk up Aaron Glen. I get to present Aaron
Glenn to everybody else.

Speaker 6 (27:07):
I will say that Aaron Glenn not a Hall of Famer,
but a really, really really I mean, you want talking
about a very good player. He's a very good player,
a very good play He is definitively a very good player.
I have I admired that guy's career because he got
so much out of out of himself. So yeah, I

(27:28):
have a lot of respect for Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Is that the hiring you like the most of all
the all the hiring so far, we're still waiting for
the Saints, which obviously is you.

Speaker 6 (27:37):
Got you got the miniature Sola. That's how you did.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
But of all the opening of all the openings.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
It's like when you go to France, right, and they
have all the series in the Rodance Sculpture Garden of
the Thinker, and you can buy the big one that
actually goes into your garden, you can buy a smaller
one that you can put put on a table, and
you can buy the one that goes on your bookshelf.
You bought the bookshelf. Soa, that's what you did.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
That's just an elitist way of saying something that you
could have just said it in a different way without
talking about Rodan and the sculpture in France and all this.

Speaker 6 (28:13):
Hey, you've showing up that Stanford education person from Stanford
University and we own Syracuse.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
And picture and picturing Cole in a beret telling people
he's Andrew luck when he's when he's under the Eiffel Tower,
I'm Andrew.

Speaker 6 (28:28):
I mean, they didn't know any better when I was
there the last time, when I was when I was
when I was signing Andrew luck jerseys at a at
Gerard and Mulow's bakery and trying to make fifty dollars
for every jersey.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
Okay, but that was the experience.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
I paid for the trip. I paid for the trip.
It was great. Oh, and Andrew doesn't know. I'll talk
to Andrew about I've never mentioned the fact that that
I did that jersey thing in Paris never.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
Okay, all right, but that was Jacole's subtle way of
all so trying to be touristy guys saying, hey, come
visit the campus.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
That's not Gerard Mulous Bakery near the Jardin de Luxembourg, Okay,
is just fabulous. If you ever go to Paris, Gerard Mulous,
like you just walk past it and you you can
the smell from inside your arg Mulow is just amazing.
It is fantastic bakery.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
So it's a very Is it a very good bakery?

Speaker 6 (29:26):
No? No, no, this is way up on the hall
of fame. Like I'm it's almost so good that it
shouldn't even be in a hall of fame. It's all
by itself. It's a lot, that's how good this is.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Listen, I think the smell is just the the hot
dog cart wrapped in bacon, that's outside.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
That's what you're smelling.

Speaker 6 (29:42):
Okay, the eight of them in a row that's outside
outside Oracle Park in San Francisco, big of rack, and
think about it. I come out of there, you know,
having had the peanuts and the beer, right, and I'm

(30:03):
just fall But it smells so good and I really
want to eat it, but I know that I'm going
to throw up on the train ride on the way
back to my house. I just can't do it, you know,
like I want to, because you see the bak and
you see the grease, you see the hot dig and
you're like, God, that looks so awesome, and it's just like, no,
you can't do that to yourself, not after a bag
of peanuts and a couple of beers. You just can't

(30:24):
do that. You have to you have to say no.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
That is a Hall of Fame opinion by a Hall
of Fame voter right there, Jason Cole. He's on Twitter
at Jason Cole sixty two. That's at Jason Cole sixty two.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
Team French at phone next week.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
We'll talk to you next week after the Hall of
Fame classes announced what is.

Speaker 6 (30:42):
It now thirty six to four? What is it?

Speaker 1 (30:45):
It's twenty six fourteen, Syria. Kyle McCord just threw two touchdowns.
We cut it to twelve. If I'm calling your ass
back if Syracuse wins this game, just so you know
it's happening. So there's your first score. I feel like
I'm I'm heading into Moncy. Belogas's airtime there by Baybe
take you out. Stanford lead Syrica. Syracuse, who was once
down in this game eighty six to two, has cut

(31:07):
it to twenty six to fourteen. But now Monci's got
the rest of the scores tonight with what's trending.

Speaker 8 (31:12):
The score was eighty six to two. Yeah, one point,
got it. I must have miss that.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Yeah, and now it's now it's twenty six fourteen.

Speaker 8 (31:19):
I must have missed all of that. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
College explain to you how college basketball keeps track of scoring.

Speaker 8 (31:24):
I appreciate that, yes, please, thank you.

Speaker 9 (31:27):
One of two games in the NBA that was still
going has officially ended. Timberwolves have extended their winning streak
to four after defeating the Suns one.

Speaker 8 (31:35):
Twenty one to one thirteen.

Speaker 9 (31:37):
Anthony Edwards thirty three points seven rebounds in the win.
Kevin Durant thirty three points, seven assists in the loss.
At halftime, the Thunder on top of the Warriors fifty
eight to forty eight. Shay Gilgess Alexander had twenty one
points in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Warriors in the
fourth quarter. Altogether, right now has thirty one points. The Clippers.
They beat the Spurs one twenty eight to one sixteen

(31:58):
of eats, A.

Speaker 8 (31:59):
Zubats twenty z one points, twenty two rebounds.

Speaker 9 (32:01):
The MAVs edge the Pelicans one thirty seven to one
thirty six. The Knicks have won five in a row
after defeating the Nuggets one seventeen to one oh seven.
The Celtics at a one twenty two to one ten
win over the Bulls, while the Cavs outscore the Heat
one twenty six to one oh six.

Speaker 8 (32:16):
The Wizards have lost fifteen in a row.

Speaker 9 (32:19):
The Raptors blew them out one o six to one
oh two. In men's college hoops, number twenty three, Ole
miss survived against Texas seventy two to sixty nine.

Speaker 8 (32:28):
Number four Alabama held on to beat.

Speaker 9 (32:30):
Number fourteen Mississippi State eighty eight to eighty four. And
number one Auburn b LSU eighty seven to seventy four
to one. Epps upset in men's college hoops Maryland with
an upset over number seventeen Wisconsin seventy six to sixty eighth.
The final in that one on the ice, the Wild
top the maple Leaves three to one and the Panther
shut out the Kings three zero. Speaking about hockey, the

(32:53):
Utah Hockey Club they can't be the Yeties or the
Yeti because the US Patent and Trademark Office rejected the
names and the logos for it.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
No, because you have those big care can.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
You drink from?

Speaker 9 (33:06):
There's a Yeti, there's a Stanley Cup, whatever. But I
think that's a cool name.

Speaker 8 (33:10):
So anyway, if.

Speaker 9 (33:11):
You're going to a Utah Hockey Club the next four
home games, the fans are gonna get to vote at
the arena. Three possible names left Utah Hockey Club, Utah.

Speaker 8 (33:20):
Mammoth, and Utah what such w A S A T
C H.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
So people could say, Utah, what's such with that?

Speaker 5 (33:29):
What's such with that?

Speaker 8 (33:30):
I think some sort of mountain or something.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
I think I think Mammoth will win. I kind of
like mammoth.

Speaker 8 (33:35):
Yeah, I like mammoth is fine.

Speaker 5 (33:37):
But YETI was just easy, pretty cool easy.

Speaker 8 (33:40):
And it like you'll remember it, you know what I mean?

Speaker 9 (33:42):
Like, yeah, Yeti's I get what you're saying as to
why they couldn't do it, But it's like.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
Come on, but would it be YETI or Yetti's?

Speaker 8 (33:48):
They went for both and both are rejected.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Huh because is the plural of YETI Yetti's or is
the plural of YETI? Still YETI like I saw a
bunch of yetti, I saw a bunch of yetti. No, ye,
like Elvis is not Elvis? Is it's Elvi? So like YETI, Yeah.

Speaker 8 (34:09):
I don't know the answer.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
A good question, Okay, So for so for next hour,
you have to tell us what a wasatch is?

Speaker 8 (34:17):
Okay, I can tell you think it's like a mountain, and.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
What the what the plural of yettie is?

Speaker 9 (34:20):
Okay, I'll find out I've.

Speaker 8 (34:22):
Given you that, Okay, Okay, thank.

Speaker 1 (34:24):

I knew it.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
And if you're sick of it, schedule your consultation call today.
Visit my phdweightloss dot Com. That's my phdweightloss dot Com.
Be healthy again, PhD weight Loss. Big thing today with
the NBA All Star Game, we know a big superstar
who is not going to be there All Star Weekend
and it is Lebron The big superstar who is not

(35:31):
going to be there money I said, big superstar. The
big superstar who will not be attending is Caitlin Clark.
Potentially she was going to join and do the maybe
the three point shootout with Steph Curry like we saw
Sabrina and ESQ do previously, but she has said she's
not going to do this. She wants her first All
Star appearance to be in the first three point contest

(35:54):
she does to be the WNBA All Star Game this year,
which is in Indiana, home of the Indiana Fever. And
when I saw this today, you know, I I shook
my head and I said, this is her and I
like it just it just smacks of this is her
and all her people, the pr people managers getting together,

(36:14):
going Okay, if you go to the NBA and do this,
what's gonna happen. You're gonna get all kinds of people
from the WNBA that are gonna hate on you, and
and there's gonna be the big faction of oh look
at her doing this for the NBA All Star Game.
Why and and so let's not do it. Let's just
say you want the first thing to be for the
WNBA when you go there, right, because who wouldn't want
to go to do this? Right SCREENI and Esku, you

(36:36):
did it. Everything was fine, and nothing happened, nothing with
bad no one's all. I can't believe you're doing this.
But you know what's gonna happen. If Kaitlyn Clark goes
to do this, It's going to be oh, she won't
play in the unrivaled league, but now she's gonna go
do this. There's going to find a way the Caitlin
Clark WNBA detractors, which are ridiculous, but there's many of them,
for whatever reason, whether it is jealousy, whether it's race,

(36:57):
whatever it is, that are gonna find a way to say,
look at Caitlin Clark doing this, Look at her jumping
to the NBA but not doing ano other things or
enough for the league. Meanwhile, all she did was get
more salaries for the league, get a better TV contract,
and get you on charter flights. Like I think that's
pretty good for a bleep and rookie to do. When
I saw this, I just said, this is completely her

(37:18):
saying I don't want bad publicity surrounding this. I just
want to continue to hang out and have a low
profile offseason. And my advice to her be honest me,
I would say, you know what, Blank, everybody, go do this.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
You do enough for the WNBA.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
No matter what you do, no one's gonna come around
and universally love you, which is insane because tell me,
the last time someone's come into a league that has
done so much for a league already, whether it's salaries
and TV contracts and charter flights and and played as
well as she had, like she's undeserving rookie records for
points and assists, and still she's met with a stiff

(37:52):
arm from a lot of the league. Hey, we'd rather
you not be We'd rather the players who have been
playing for a long time get the credit, and we'd
rather you not get this credit because for whatever reason,
we don't think you're worthy. How insane is that there's
no other sports league that doesn't celebrate new stars that
come in that help the league grow. But hey, WNBA
is going to WNBA, right the W is gon to W.

(38:13):
I would say, do just go do it because people
are going to be.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
Mad at you anyway.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Do whatever you want, do whatever you want in your life,
your basketball life. You're doing enough for the WNBA. I mean,
you've already done so much and people are just not
going to appreciate. You're not going to win anybody over.
So if that's the reason, I can't believe why she
wouldn't want to go do this, except for, hey, I
don't want all of a sudden to hear from coaches
and say things or snide things on social media. Go

(38:37):
do it, Go do it, live your life and go
do the cool things like this that opportunities like this
affords you. Go have a shoot in contact with Steph Curry.
It'd be fun, you'd enjoy it, you'd love it. But
I just saw this story, Mike, and I just said, Yeah,
this is how do I say something or do something
that's not going to ruffle any critics feathers and maybe
at some point I'll win all of them over when honestly,

(38:59):
she's not going it's never gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
It's a tough one, right because on a day where
you have a bunch of great headlines for her, she's
getting absolutely.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
Raked over the coals for this one.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Right is Kelsey Mitchell comes back, So she's at the
end of the line welcoming her back to Indiana. Great,
they announce a deal with a bunch of charities that
her foundation in Iowa are gonna be beneficiaries of great
and then you have this one. It's like, well, what's
the deal, what's the negative angle? It's like, maybe she's

(39:29):
just done with a lot of extra for the moment,
and if she wants.

Speaker 5 (39:32):
To go do it. I agree with you. Hey, you
know people aren't gonna be happy. Like every time we
turn on these microphones.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
I find some fuel in the fact that there's someone
out there waiting for me to slip up on an analogy,
maybe to give you a made up, conflated word, or
to make fun of the jets so they can either
cheer me or hate me, whatever the case may be.
But that fuels me, right, fuels you. It's what we do. Know,
everybody's gonna like what you have to say, and every

(40:00):
opinion with Caitlyn Clark every time she steps on a
court or anywhere near a venue. Look what the hell
happened when she showed up in a suite alongside Taylor Swift.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
My goodness, Well, look and look at.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
The TV ratings for the Unrivaled League, like they're just
mediocre at best. Now, it's great that they're doing it
and there's there's some sort of attention, but you know,
you're averaging under two hundred thousand viewers, right if Kaitlyn
Clark was there, what would the viewership be like, Well,
it would be it would be much like it would
be double the game she was playing. It would be
double it would be triple because she's the show. And
it really it continues to baffle me that she doesn't

(40:36):
get embraced as someone who is that transcendent star. But
at this point it's not gonna happen, right, She's done
everything she could. She's been a superstar. It doesn't matter
if superstars come around when they come around, but she's
never going to win everybody over. I would never do
anything though, Well, how are some people in the w
going to react? Are they going to say things about me?

(40:56):
Just go do whatever you want to do.

Speaker 4 (40:58):
Just remember, Jason, folks aren't all going They all want
their recognition of what they brought to the table.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Exit.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
How about a Fresco exit, swollen dome. Guess what quarterback
is coming back next year? That new story next
