Speaker 3 (00:52):
Well, we have a day.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
We have a day where still controversies from the Super
Bowl just won't die, which is so much fun because hey,
the Super bowls up now, it's a long time until
we get another football game that counts.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Are there are more fights, more fights in the street
more I mean, you know, and the.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Guys with great hats, let's cause a controversy one sort
of fight. No hats were involved, and one not understanding
of a controversy surrounding the Super Bowl. So you have, Okay,
we're good, We're touching a lot of things. We're going
to get all the bases here tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Obviously, that's good. We got to, you know, get our
outstretched arms, even though we have short reaches. If we
work inside, you're in trouble.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
But two things to get to first, Two big NBA
stories you know going on right now. One game just ended,
one game in the middle right now. We'll get to
Luca and the Lakers in a second. But the Nets
just beat the Sixers tonight. Okay, So why is that
big deal? Well, it's not because the Sixers are terrible.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
They're just as terrible as the Nets.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
No Joel Embiid, who of course we know Joel Embiid
has to maybe get another knee surgery at some point.
But the reason I bring this up is because it's
not surprised. That's a But somehow Paul George was able
to play thirty seven minutes tonight, thirty seven in a
row and not in foul trouble two foulsany and tigers.

(02:10):
He plays thirty seven minutes tonight and he scored two points?
How does Paul George play thirty seven minutes and score
two points? One out of seven from the floor? See
you had six rebounds for says, couple of steals, three blocks?
Nice little anseler. How say, how does that guy play

(02:31):
thirty seven minutes and score two points? I played zero
minutes and he scored one more basket.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Than I did?

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Was he quiet quitting because Tyrese Maxy left him out
there alone. I'm gonna play, but I'm not gonna play well.
I mean, I haven't seen a montage of the three
point shots. I only saw one in the little highlights
of just kind of mocking his cloak of invisibility. Uh,
but was he just kind of chucking it up there
yelling like Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Ran man, I don't understand. That's where math don't math
like math. The math doesn't math there like that, Paul Drau,
he can play thirty seven.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Minutes and score two points.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
They scored seventeen points in the third quarter. They lose
by four. Because that's the other part of this, right,
It is a close, hotly contested game. They outscore the
Nets six points by six points in the fourth quarter
to make the margin of victory four. He doesn't want
the ball in his hands. I'd say, hey, hey, Obray,

(03:31):
Hey grimey, hey grimey, it's in your hands. Justin Edwards
off the bench, he chucked up thirteen shots. I mean, look,
what are we doing here, don't I don't understand that.
Math doesn't seem to not with knowledge, George, it doesn't.
It just doesn't seem to work. Boy, gotta be something
in the post that, you know, we can have some
fun with. I'm sure you know this is.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
You know, we talked last night about how the Bulls
are the team that I feel the worst about that
they you know, they have fallen into absolutely irrelevance in
the last fifteen years, when when it was I mean really,
and it's of their own doing, because you know, all
the good all the players they thought they had four
years ago still aren't great. They still don't play well
and they won't make any moves. But looking at the
seventy six ers, how this is a team You go

(04:13):
into last year's playoff and you think, how, hey sixers,
this is a team. They're gonna compete for the NBA title.
They have a healthy Joel Embiid. They have Tyree max
who's become a great one a and it's okay, it
doesn't work out, and Embiid gets hurt, he's tired shooting
free throws.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Hey, we're gonna add Paul George. Oh awesome. And now
you have a.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Season in which now Joel Embiid looks like he's playing
in his final However many games rest this year before
he leaves in the offseason. And you know, okay, yes,
Tyres maxey Is, Tyres maxey Is is terrific player.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
And you have Paul George.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
You Kim is supposed to be this big three headed monster,
and he's got a game that you lose to the nets.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
The nets. You know, this is not like one of
the best defensive teams in the game.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
It's not like we played the t Wolves and I
shot one for eighteen, like he's one for like did
he even try to get in the game even, I mean,
I don't understand how he shoot. He scores two points tonight.
And this is where the Sixers are at. This is
almost where if you are Philadelphia. This is where I
get to point where when I was a kid, I
would say this about you know the Knicker was I

(05:14):
would say they should trade it, just keep this one
guy and trade everybody. Like I was like, the Knick
should keep Bernard King and trade everybody. Get rid of
everybody else on the team. Just keep He's the only
guy that said he could just get That's kind of
how I feel like, Well, the Sixers should.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Keep Tyree's Maxi and get rid of everybody else.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
Yeah, everybody else can go now. The If you do
a quick search in the ex world on Paul George,
two of the first things that pop up are him
dressed as Waldo collecting candy as he entered the arena
going back to a game on Halloween. The other is
him with a giant mass saying this Paul George contract
with the Sixers goes down is one of the greatest

(05:53):
bank rowderies in.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
US is how can someone say that after the Anthony
Rendon news today that he's gonna be out again? Like,
how can you sit there and say this contract is
that word?

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Now? You know, it's funny because yesterday I told you, hey,
tomorrow is a national holiday, and you're like, wait, what
President's Day's Monday? Valentine's Friday. It's like no, no, no. Today
is the release day for the twenty twenty five Tops
Baseball flagship product, and people start posting their heads, right,
I got this cool Skiens patch, you know, one of five.

(06:27):
I got this cool Skiens one of one sketch. I
got a trout autograph. I got this cool Otani. Here's
the thing with the picture of the Mother's Day cleads,
the mookie bets, like all of these, like all of
these different Tops products. And then someone's like, I got
this rendown game used jersey. There's no chance in hell
this was game used. So yeah, how would you like that?

(06:48):
Here's my two hundred dollars box. What did you get
when you.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Say game used?

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Like when we give them the jersey and hang it
in their locker before a game, that's technically you.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Know, and that's just it. That's what we get in
the semantics of this. All right, there's team issues, there's
practice used, there's game used, and they're trying to get
to fight for a little more transparency. But to your point,
very much so, did Anthony Rendon possibly touch this jersey
at any point on a game day? If so?

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Game used?

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Unbelievable, But yeah, the Paul George thing tonight just makes
no sense. I get it. You're twenty and thirty three
coming into tonight, so it's not like you're you're gonna
make some colossal run embiid. We talked about the surgery
pending yesterday. With his comments, it's just a I can't
get I can't get an effort from you to try

(07:40):
to win a game. You're going into the All Star Break,
you're gonna get a week off, You're playing thirty seven minutes.
You shoot the ball seven times, and it wasn't like
he had some Hey, fourteen assists total. I mean, look
at Paul George show persatility.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
It's like, that's that's a stuff from a guy that
I did. He even try to get into the game
like that. I even try to feel like if he
shot one out of fourteen, it's okay. It just wasn't
as night.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
But man, two points, Paul George, all.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Right, So we'll see if there's as you say, there
could be interesting post game with that. However, right now,
at halftime, the Lakers playing Game two of the Luka
doncic Era not quite going how Game one went. They
are getting thumped by the Jazz. Right now, sixty four
fifty six, even though it's an eight point game.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
But look, the.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Jazz are shooting about fifty percent from the floor and
the Lakers the first half.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
I get that.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
There's gonna be a little bit of a how do
I say this, there's a little bit of a of
a downtick. You're gonna get all the energy of Game
one with Luca two nights ago. You just played the Jazz.
Now you have a day off, you fly out, you
play again. There's gonna be a little bit of a
flat start. I would I would Sugg, I would say, Okay,
you kind of expect that. But the Lakers have looked

(08:51):
flat and unmotivated the entire first half, like like playing
this game like they're almost like they're playing at three
quarters speed and they don't really seem to have any
kind of jump. This is absolutely unlike how they have
looked in every game over the course of the past
week and a half, going back to the Knicks game
two Saturdays ago, which I think, depending how this Laker

(09:12):
season ends, that could be the game we go, Hey,
this is game where everything turned around for him because
the energy was there. Everything they tried to do was there.
They traded for Luka Doncic that night and every game
was great, but they have looked absolutely just I don't
want to like bored or uninterested or just like they're
just out there going through the motions in this first half.
And Luca has at times looked really good with some

(09:34):
of his drives. But overall, this has just been a
craptastic first half of the Lakers. And and you know, again,
this is why games are forty eight minutes long and
not twenty short minutes. But this is this is anti
everything we've seen from the Lakers over the past week
and a half.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
But a very odd first half. Right, if you haven't
watched and you start going box scores searching, it's like,
all right, so what do we got? You got Luca
with his five to ten shooting, Vine Lebron four of
a eight for twelve points, Hatchimura's got twelve, Okay, it's
some balance. And then Austin Reeves he's got four points.
He's one of eight from the field, zero for six

(10:08):
from three point range. He's got nine assists. That's got
to be a career high, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
I think you might be right about that, yeah, right.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
I mean he averages six a game. So maybe there's
a couple of outliers in there, but certainly a much
more proficient half in terms of distribution that you've seen.
But they're shooting forty one percent from the field, Like
this is a jazz team that you you work two
nights ago. It doesn't suddenly work the other way where
they suddenly, you know, got good case in point Detroit, Chicago.

(10:37):
Still a fifteen point game in Chicago as we finished
that back to back, still getting drummed. They suck.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah, well yeah that no, that is true. But I mean, look,
it's not all doom and gloom. I don't want to
sit here.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
And say, oh, look at the sky's falling. You just
said it.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Well you know what it's.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
It's the discord in the locker room as the players
stood up for you.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Yeah they are, yeah, hey, hey.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Look at what the can we just Lakers record before
JJ Reddick started beefing with me, Lakers record after?

Speaker 4 (11:09):
I like it, There you go power.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
I didn't think about.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Putting that Infinity Gauntlet.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
I did not think about that that would be the
Lakers record since JJ Reddicks started beefing with me.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
I am inevitable well they louted the first half.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
He'll be in Polinka's office tomorrow going, hey, dude, come on, man,
what are you doing? Do I need to bring that
guy in from the radio to coach the team?

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Come on? He got Come on man, you get canam
and can a night like this? Look at this.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Come on, he's gonna show up with a custom Lakers
smith jersey. I'm digging it with the number is like
all those digits.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Oh that would be awesome, that would I really you know,
I'm really hoping we get Dan Mooiki after the game tonight.
Uh Lakers insider travels with the team and uh, you know,
he's the one who asked the question of JJ Reddick
when he when he you know, mentioned my name and
Twitter and everything. So I'm hoping we get him after
and he can maybe ask a question for us. But
if not, I hope we get him after just to realize, Okay, hey,

(12:07):
do you think that the you know, the feud with
the potential feud with me has something to do with it?
I don't know, I mean it might.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
It might. I mean the sowing the seeds of malcontentedness
wherever we go. I mean, you've got Medina's the underminer.
We've got wiki asking earnest questions and really getting to
the heart of it, because I think JJ Redick Barrett
a little bit of his soul there. Now you might
get that something is distracting him and burns with him.
While it may be fuel, sometimes sometimes it gets a

(12:36):
little out of controlling. You can't contain it. And his
players listen to those postgame comments. Look, they were driving
home and they heard what had to be said. I mean,
listen on AM five to seventy LA Sports listening to
us talk about it, and like, wait, why would he
go after Jason Smith? I like the cut of his
jib comedy, some parody songs that harmon guy is a

(12:57):
powerful and attractive man. I mean, what are we doing, Jj,
What are we doing? Why are we causing problems in
the city. The Lakers season was going great until.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
JJ Reddick decided to beef following Luca's first game.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Could we could we get a cameo done by AJ Benza.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
That fame ain'ted a blank?

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
I miss Aj because he's still even working agent.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
I don't even know, man, but I used to love
those Fame ain'ted a blank?

Speaker 4 (13:25):
Any true. Well, he's sixty two years old.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
He's sixty two and l aj Benson.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Wow, yeah, if I remember, he would do all those
those promos like we're in a leather jacket, right, like.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Yeah, mysteries and scandals. They didn't have him under a
street light on one of the back lots. Oh yeah,
she got that. Yeah, I mean no, I mean he's
just got to. He writes a columns, evidently for Radar
Online and for Star Magazine. Still okay, podcast fame is
a blank? Is that a Scott.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Podcast called that? That's the best?

(16:31):
for you every single night. Now, speaking of love, I
love and hate. I really I need. I need the
Knicks to win this game, Harmon, because I can't take
Trey Young laughing his ass off every time he beats
the Nicks and Madison Square Garden like, look, it's so easy,
especially after the Knicks blew a six point lead with
eighteen seconds left because Karl Anthony Towns doesn't know. Hey,

(16:51):
if you can't inbound the ball, call a time out,
call a time out, don't give it away to the
other team. It was like watching Reggie Miller again all over.
But mainly I can't take Trey Young. I can't take
Trey Young just laughing like ha ha, I have the
secret thoughts. Didn't do any of the last time. When
the next one, but you know he's gonna do it tonight.
It's gonna, it's gonna he's gonna take a jackhammer out
and take count out some of the logo bring it

(17:12):
home with them.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I can't have it. I can't have it, Mike.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
When I tell you all the time, right, you find
your wins in the day that you that you can.
I might expire the next time, you might get your
ass handed to you. But when when you have an
opportunity to celebrate on the opposition's court, Especially with all
the expectations that that the Knicks brought into the season
with all those celebrities, the constant yammering on of Spike

(17:39):
Lee getting onto the court and yelling at you all
of that. I mean, there's something to be said for
having your moment there because you didn't have it in
the playoffs, guy as well do it here.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
No, no, no.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Like actually did the playoffs against the Knicks. But you
get what I pointed in anything really substantive other than
just living rent free in your head. Uh.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Hawks and the Knicks tied at a couple of minutes
to go in overtime, so we'll have more.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
NBA on the way. But it looked two big.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Stories out of the NFL today and and one's a
shocker and one is seems like it's a shocker but
it's not.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Saquon Barkley went on the Howard Searn Show earlier today
and was asked about Taylor Swift. Of course he's gonna
get the question on there because y know, look Howard's
doing his thing and ask them about, hey, do you
think Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey will get married? And
instead Saquon Barkley kind of made a left turn and
said he didn't understand why she got booed and keeps
getting all the hate that she gets.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Here's Saquon Barkley from earlier today.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
I remember they showed her on the Jumbleton and she
got booed. I don't get it. I don't get why
she she was getting hate there.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
I didn't like that either, Yeah, I didn't like that.

Speaker 5 (18:51):
Porting a significant out there, and she's made the game bigger.
You know, we're all about and football. We're all about,
you know, how can we expand the game and make
it more internationally? And we're traveling in Brazil and we're
traveling the next to go, and so we're trying to
expand the game and you know, her being a part
of it is only helping that. So I don't I
don't get to decide that you would get.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
In Okay, for I think was this I forget, Mike,
Was this Saquon Barkley's first game with the Eagles? Was
he new to the team? Was he new to their
fan base? For the Super Bowl? Was that his first game?
I mean, dude, what it was your it was your
team's fans A boot Taylor Swift? What what do you mean?

(19:32):
You don't get why she was booed?

Speaker 3 (19:34):
She is a Kansas City Chiefs fan. She is a tailor.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
She was once upon a time an Eagles fan, so
that's also a turncoat and.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Right, which which again is why they hate it.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Look, I understand I read all this crazy ass stuff
the last few days about how Taylor Swift got booed
and the policies about it and how and and President
Trump is talking about how, oh it's a it was
a none of this is political, Okay, just to stop
for a second. Taylor Swift got booed because it's very simple.
A it was a pro Eagles crowd. You saw that

(20:04):
when that when the Chiefs got introduced, you heard the boods.
It was like, boy, it's not like they're playing at Foxborough,
my goodness. So you knew it was a pro Eagles crowd.
So you know, anything with the Chiefs is going to
get booed. Yes, when they showed Taylor Swift, she's going
to get booed because the Eagles fans are louder of it.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
They're there.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
They don't like Taylor Swift. They don't like because she's
pumping up the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
She she's a chief and she's been yelling and screaming.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
And look, of course there's the bit of fans just
don't like her celebrating on television while she's watching a game,
which again is absolutely stupid. But that's part of what's
going on with the last few years too, is at all.
I don't like that they keep showing her, which which
people just have to find something else to get mad about.
But people still are gonna.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Find you like to be mad, that's all I know.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
So of course that's gonna that that's gonna happen when
they show her. If it's a pro Eagles crowd, especially
early on in the game when everything is wrong, Yeah,
they're gonna booor.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
That's how it goes. Saquon. This is your DZ, your fans.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
This is the you think the Eagles are gonna sit
around and the Eagles fans are not gonna boot tailors.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
They were yelling blank Taylor.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Swift in the streets burning Kermit the Frog following the game,
and you think I don't understand why Taylor Swift is
getting booed.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Dude, you need a tour of Philadelphia. You need the
Mayor of Philadelphia to E. LG. S. E. S her
Way to talk to you and give you to This
is what We're all about it. You've been there.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
You know what Eagles fans are like here, Really you
think that there was another reason why she was getting booted.
You don't understand that it was Eagles fans who were
the majority of the fans. When they show her on television,
she's going to get boot I don't understand that.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Well. I mean, I think there's a couple of things
in play, and we've really buried the lead and all
of this. But I'll get to that in a second.
Let's bury it a little bit deeper for a moment.
Saquon Barkley is also on the feel good Look, I'm
king of the world right now. I mean, won a
Super Bowl left the Giants goes there, what's he gonna do? Say, Yeah,
that's what I expect from Eagles fans. There are a

(21:54):
bunch of blankety blanks. No, he's not he's not gonna
lean into it. There'd be like, wow, you know, it's
just it's just crazy. I just don't know, you know.
And then he goes on to extol the virtues of
Taylor Swipt, what it's done for the game, what it's
meant for all the licensing deals, the dollars in their
pockets because think about it. I mean they played in
Brazil to start things. A bunch of Saquon Barkley jerseys

(22:15):
get sold because of that. Right, so the international marketing
adds to his coffers. Now the burying the lead part
of this. Howard Sturge still talks to people and has
a role.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah, yeah, no, no, what the hell? Yeah no, still happy.
I had no idea. Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
I mean I knew he was still collecting massive paychecks.
I just didn't think he had to do anything for it.
I thought it was all the best ofs. And here's
when we had fart Man and all sorts of other nonsense,
bob Oe and there's a beetlejuice and all these feel
I really thought it was still that. I thought it
was the best ofs and he was still living off
you know, twenty five years ago. So good for him, hey,

(22:52):
good good, Yeah, good for him.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Fooey.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Now, look, the other part of it gets into the
whole political aze. But I'll tell you why this is
not political.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Right.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Look, we never shy away from anything that when it's
a big conversation. But this is irrelevant because I've seen
a lot of well, President Trump just got cheer when
they showed him during the national anthem. Okay, I understand that.
First of all, let's understand this. Zero Chiefs fans are
going to boo Taylor Swift, zero of them, zero, no
matter how you voted out. Taylor Swift is the chief.

(23:22):
She has brought untold recognition to the Chiefs, the fame
and the fortune and Travis Kelcey.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
She is the chief.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Zero holiday movie.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Zero Chiefs fans are booing Taylor Swift. Okay, so that's
absolutely out. Secondly, okay, the national anthem is a very
patriotic time, right, It's a very it's the anthem. And look,
half the country voted for President Trump, right, and half
the country is happy. Half the country is not happy.
I understand that. But when they show the president during

(23:52):
the national anthem, of course, people who voted for him
and support him are going to cheer. And the people
who didn't vote for him are not to start booing
during the national anthem. They're just gonna be silent. So yeah,
of course President Trump got a got an ovation while
Taylor Swift got boo.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
These are not comparing.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
It's not like they show to you know, here's Trump
on the left and here's Taylor Swift on the right.
And there was a there was a mascot with a
with a thumbs up under Trump's picture, then a thumbs
up under Taylor Swift's picture, and it was cheers and booth.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
No, so it's rare.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
You're comparing stuff that just doesn't that just doesn't matter,
and and it it doesn't, It doesn't equate to anything
during the anthem. Yet every they show anybody in the
crowd and people are gonna cheer. It's look, it's a
it's a patriotic time, and it's not. It's not a
time to boo. It's a time if if you don't
if you didn't vote for President Trump, don't support them,
you're not gonna boo. You're gonna be quiet. If you

(24:43):
voted for President Trump supportive, of course you're gonna cheer. Hey,
my president, he's there. And you know, Taylor Swift is
a different time. It's okay, here's a game. Oh there's
Taylor Swift. Here come the Eagles fans booing. It's apples
and oranges when it when it comes to this and
for Saquon Barkley, Geedty felt bad because Taylor Swift has
brought a lot attention to the NFL.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
I understand that.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
I get all of this, and for Taylor Swift, she's
got to get that. Okay, sometimes I'm gonna get booed
because I'm a Chiefs fan and the other team might
boom me. And that's something that sort of goes along
with the territory. Was it weird that she got booed? Yeah,
but look she's very out there. She's very out there
to to do as a Chiefs fan. Of course she's
gonna get booed. I'm out there as a Mets and

(25:23):
a Jets fan. You're out there as a as a
Bears fan and a White Sox fan. When stuff happens,
we get stuff all the time. All your team stinks.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
It's terrible.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
It says, Hey, you know, when you let people know
your opinion on stuff, people are going to criticize you
on it. And her opinion and this is not anything
the opinion she's a Chiefs fan. When all the Eagles
fans are here, they're gonna boo like like that's really
what it was.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Yeah, Like the old rule of thumb. You know, Showma,
you know number nine and eighty four. I can't tell
you how to feel. So if you want to believe
that it was politically motivated, have at it. Have at it.
Just your rationale to it, lays it out out on
the line. She's supporting the Chiefs, she's supporting her boyfriend,
and you got an awful lot of Eagle fans. Now.

(26:08):
I know it was more split come game day, but
certainly around the city. What do we keep hearing ratios
of eight, nine, ten to one Eagles fans that made
it to the city. Insert whatever bad, bad jokes you
want about well the Chiefs supported the tickets and Eagles
fans fewer or something like that. I don't know all

(26:29):
of that to say, yeah, you're not gonna boot during
the national anthem? You want to get your ass kicked
by the guy behind you. Hey, I served here, jerk,
and all of a sudden we got problems in the No,
you're gonna shut your mouth and you're gonna wait for
the anthem. The flyover again, flyovers when you're in a
dome stadium. I don't know, but it's symbolic. It's part

(26:49):
of the don't worry, it's outside, trust us. But I
can't see ity. They trust us. It's outside. We're gonna
shout out the big screen. Wait a minute, Wait a minute,
that's the Golden gate Bridge.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Now wait a minute, now wait now, I got an
idea here. I got an idea because you know, there's
a technology to do it, and it takes an owner
with with really deep pockets to want to do this.
But we need a closed roof that actually when you
want to you can see through to the sky.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Oh, I thought you were gonna say, we pump in
the noise, you know, like the falcons or so many
other teams have been caught doing it. See you can
hear it flying overhead.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
We pump in the noises of the birds at the masses.
Those birds are not germane to the Augusta area.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Those are birds from US South America, south of Brazil.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Is what no buts Like in the Incredibles, they're actually
a camera?

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Is that as some like instead of just a roof
that is that you see all the girders and the
support and you stare up at it. There's got to
be some kind of like planetarium, like a like the
sphere in Vegas, or or we're an omnimax where oh,
I could see different things that are up on the roof.
Or it can be transparent and we can see through
the roof to what is going on outside. And if
it's bad weather, then we can make it look like

(27:59):
it's great weather. Right, Make it look like it's sunny out.
It's awesome. Make it look like it's sunny. Make it
look like it's nighttime. We'll make it look here, make
it look like there's rainbows. I mean, you want to
do it. You can do that.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Wow. Hey, look we're playing on the moon. Next level
stuff right there. I like that.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
I'll tell you, man, I'll explain Taylor Swift. Now he
got new ideas. Okay, so when Steve Cohen, when you
build the new city field, let's do that all right,
because I know you have that cash.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
All of a sudden, you know, put Pete a Lonzo's
up at the plate, and what do we get. It's
like we're in the Arctic.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Uh yeah, he doesn't, he doesn't. Yeah, And they and
they fix the background. So when the other team is batting,
it's just like a an assault of of of jump cuts
and camera cuts and flashing lights, strobe light exit out
about a fresca exit swelling down The Jason Smiths Show
with the Mike Carmen Live from the Tirec dot Com studios.

Speaker 3 (28:52):

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Well, I have to.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Worry about Trey Young tapping on the Knicks logo and
celebrating after a last second shot against the Knicks. Martin
Weiss has the answer for a spoiler. I will not
have to worry about that.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
He's got that in war with what's trending right now
in the wide world.

Speaker 7 (29:19):
Hey listen here, Jason Smith one two, five, seven, eight,
nine seventeen.

Speaker 6 (29:25):
I'm about to leave the the updates to the kid.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
Here we go.

Speaker 7 (29:30):
When I saw that, initially, I was like, wait a minute,
there's no way he's talking.

Speaker 6 (29:35):
About And then I went and saw the Twitter, I
was like, you know what.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Maybe he is man, no chance I'm seeing with JJ Reddick.
Now and look at the Lakers. Look at what the
Lakers record was prior to him feuding with me, And
now look at it they're getting thumped by the Jazz.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
I mean, I see it. He's clearly distracted.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Yeah, he is, he is, he is. Maybe I need
to catch the team.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Well, it's going to cost him his job, that's it. Distractions.

Speaker 7 (29:58):
Well, Jason, you were lucky just by the hair on
your chinny chin chin. Did you not have to witness
Trey Young doing his dance in Madison Square Garden?

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Yet again?

Speaker 7 (30:08):
The Knicks beat the Hawks in overtime, one forty nine
to one forty eight, kar Anthony Towns forty four points
and ten rebounds. Trey Young thirty eight points in nineteen assists,
but uh, he would have needed just one more to
go ahead in and make Jason Smith an unhappy man.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
Today, the Cavaliers beat the Raptors.

Speaker 7 (30:27):
One thirty one to one oh eight, even Mobile had
twelve points fifteen rebounds. Pistons beat the Bulls for the
second consecutive night in a row. This one was a
lot closer, one twenty eight to one ten, which shows
you how last night went. Jayalen Durham with sixteen points
and fourteen rebounds. The Bucks without Damian Lillard today he
sat out ju to a hamstring. He'll still be available
for the All Star events he's committed to. But Minnesota,

(30:50):
I guess, okay, I mean minute less misspoke. I'm sorry
Milwaukee okay with that, because they did beat Minnesota one
of three to one oh one. Kyle Kuzma, the new
min Milwaukee Buck had thirteen nineteen points and thirteen rebounds.
Kings beat the Pelicans won nineteen to one eleven, and
the Thunder victorious over the Heat one fifteen to one
oh one. Shay Gilders Alexander thirty two points and nine assists,

(31:13):
the Heat only scoring the Heat that was scored thirty
two to eight in.

Speaker 6 (31:18):
The fourth quarter.

Speaker 7 (31:19):
Shesh games going on still currently with three minutes twenty
six seconds left in the fourth quarter of the Rockets
have a one on nine to one oh four lead
over Phoenix seven oh four left in the third quarter.
The Nuggets making with a fifteen point lead eighty nine
to seventy two over Portland. Jason Smith said it clearly
JJ Reddick distracted because the second half.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
Has not gone well so far for the Lakers.

Speaker 7 (31:42):
They're being outscored twenty seven to fifteen in the third
quarter alone with five eleven left in the period. It
is ninety one to seventy one. Lourie Marknen with twenty
six points. See Lebron James and Luca doncis where that
new duo is doing. Lebron with fifteen points. He's four
for from three. He's got four rebounds and three assists.

(32:03):
Minus eight Luca. Uh, maybe the Mavericks were onto something.
He's got sixteen points, but he's minus sixteen guys three
freight from the floor. Uh, he's played twenty two minutes.
Lebron has played twenty four. Let's see elsewhere in the league.
The Mavericks with the fifty seven and fifty four lead
over the Warriors with twenty seconds left in the first half.
Back to you guys, thanks Martin.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
Not just to just to double check here, leverybody know
the Lakers record this season through game one of the
Luca era thirty two and nineteen, good for first place
in the Pacific. Since JJ Reddick may or may not
have started a feud with me, which I'm about seventy
five percent that he has.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
They are down twenty at Utah. You do the math.

Speaker 7 (32:43):
I mean, I see they just beat this team by
twenty just a couple of days ago before now Jakes
was Smith one and one seventy five.

Speaker 6 (32:49):
Yeah, and clearly rent free in the head.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Yep, that's how it really broke up to fracture that
locker room. I'm telling you, I mean, man, I mean,
who is it?

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (32:57):
I mean the locker room is fracture? Is Connect on
the sideline guying?

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Smith knew what he was talking about. No, you know, yeah,
you know, yeah, he knew.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
He said the other night start me and Brownie. I
don't know why people aren't listening to that so far.

Speaker 7 (33:12):
Just just Bronnie James is on the bench today, has
yet to play Delta Connect. Seven minutes going so far,
he's got three points.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Thanks a bunch, Martin.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
NBA on the way. Big night in the NBA. The
Knicks hold off Tray Young, who will not be taking
a piece of the garden with him back to Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
But uh, you know, I feel like every day there's
gonna be something with either Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Travis Kelsey Taylor Swift. We talked about the Taylor Swift
situation a few minutes ago and now, today we find
out that Travis Kelcey is gonna take a little bit
of time before he decides his NFL future. On the
New Heights podcast with Jason Kelsey today, he said, Hey,
you know what, gonna take some time, a little bit
of reflect and then see where I want to go
about the rest of my NFL career.

Speaker 8 (35:04):
I know everybody wants to know whether or not I'm
playing next year, and right now, I'm just kicking everything
down the road. I'm kicking every can I can down
the road, and I'm not making any crazy decisions, but
I right now, the biggest thing is just being there
for my teammates. And you know, I've I've been fortunate
over the past five six years. I've played more football

(35:25):
than anybody and it's it's because the people that are
in that building and the fact that we keep going
to these AFC Championships and these Super Bowls, and that
means I'm playing an extra three games more than everybody
else in the in the entire league. And that's a
lot of wear and tear on your body, and it's
a lot it's a lot of time spent in the building,
focusing on your crafts, focusing on the task at hand,

(35:48):
every challenge that you set up for yourself.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Uh yeah, that's a load of crap.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Okay, it was, it was. It was all leading up
to the Super Bowl. What do we hear from Travis Kelsey?
I feel great?

Speaker 4 (35:59):
Why wouldn't I want?

Speaker 3 (36:00):
I want to play three more years?

Speaker 4 (36:01):
Right?

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Why wouldn't I want to keep playing? I love the game?
I love everything about it. This is fandom. Why would
I not want to do this? And now after losing
the Super Bowllets, oh, I'm gonna take a lot of
time and I'm gonna make some time. No again, when
you see something like this doesn't make sense. Understand, he's
coming to the last year of his contract, right, He's
coming to the last year as contract. He's got eleven

(36:23):
million dollar bonus, nineteen million dollars in salary. It would
be a two and a half million dollar dead cap hit.
Travis Kelsey doesn't go in a week from I love this.
I want to keep going as long as Part two.
Now I'm going to decide. No, he's coming to the
last year of his contract. He wants to keep playing.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
So he's gonna do this.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
If it was about off the field and the and
the conversation of well, Travis Kelsey's a big podcast now
makes a lot of money for that.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
Yeah, no, he does.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
And if that was the case, Travis Kelsey would say,
I'm going to play NFL for one nec not gonna
thromb your nose a twenty million dollar Okay, how much
money you're making for podcasts. You're not making twenty million dollars.
Once you finished playing football, you're done. So he's got
He would say, I'm gonna do one more year and
that's it, which is probably what's going to wind up
going anyway, because he's not quite the player that he
was in the past. But this is all about a contract.

(37:10):
Is he gonna wind up getting more money to keep
playing football and keep doing what he's doing and have
this incredible life where he's a superstar in the NFL
and he's dating Taylor Swift, he's a globe trotter, and
everywhere he goes he makes news. You understand that when
you stop playing a little bit of that attention goes away.
There's plenty of time to be a podcaster, plenty of
time to do all of this. But this is about him.

(37:30):
Oh okay, suddenly his contract, he's going into the final
year of his deal and what's gonna happen. Right, This
is exactly how it goes. Everybody that suddenly changes their tune.
Just go look at what their contract situations. You go, oh, now,
I understand what's going on. All he's trying to do
is to play it out, get a new deal from
the Chiefs, try to go forward. He's still a top

(37:51):
five ish tight end in the NFL. I would say
he still had ninety five catches last year. Not quite again,
not the number one guy, not the number two guy anymore,
but still five top six guy. Even when you're in
your mid thirties. That's pretty good. So it's not like
he's fallen off. He said as recently as five days ago.
He still wants to play and wants to keep playing. So, yeah,
understand that this is part of the dance that comes

(38:12):
in the off season.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
Yeah. I think the big thing you mentioned the dollars
that are due to him. Chiefs would be more than
happy to get out of that with a very low
dead cap hit for it to go away. Or Travis,
you want to continue playing, you know, you can skip
training camp, whatever else and go down the Gronk highway.
But you need to be in top notch shape. And

(38:35):
when there's no chance in help, we're paying you anywhere
near what you were expected to get. Incentive lated deal,
Let's do a one in one, let's do a two
year deal. Whatever, reboot this, but we got to get
some of that money back. Why because we got work
to do. We got a bunch of offensive linemen we
need to bring in. We got a lot of things
we need to fix. We talked about the hard reboot.

(38:55):
Wherever you get your podcasts going download to give it
five stars. We'll love you forever. We got Bill and
a couple of other guys coming chiming in on Twitter
at how about a frescat swollen dome. Just remind Jason,
I'm a Chiefs fan and I hate Taylor Swift. Just
kind of throwing it out there. I mean, we are
getting a little bit of folks want their boys to
be heard. But yeah, certainly, you know, contemplative, trying to

(39:17):
be respectful of the process, especially as there's a lot
of negativity and it's like, all right, let's brush it
off a little bit by saying, yeah, we've got to
think about it, versus Nah, you're stuck with me. Ah
here I am. I don't think You's fans would want
to hear that right now. I think they'd like a
little bit of a cooling off period and a more
contemplative thing. But for him, sure, it's a decided change

(39:40):
of tone after a couple of drops not being able
to connect with Mahomes catches he used to make routinely,
and they didn't have to be perfect balls. He would
always be able to go and he'd snag the balls
behind him or whatever. And in this case, I mean
those were down distance, easy things early in the game
that would have sustained drives instead of three and outs

(40:04):
and putting the ball back in the hands of the Eagles.
So yeah, it's one of those Let it just state
and keep it in the news and cycle too, right,
because if he says definitively he's done, they don't get
to carry this forward. Jason, come on, it's like a telenovela.
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
We've got to drag this out Opening night, February third.
Hopefully I'm still playing football in three years. I love
doing this. I love coming into work every day. I
feel like I still got a lot of good football
left in me. Oh, but now he doesn't know what
he wants. Now he doesn't know.

Speaker 4 (40:37):
Everybody's got to play until they're punched in the mouth.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
Shenanigans, More from the NBA, and a big quarterback story
out of the NFL.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
