Speaker 1 (00:50):

(01:14):
We have a big night in the NBA. Look another
big day at the combine. We finally got a picture
of the potential Jordan Schultz Ian Rappaport confrontation from two
days ago. Like, whoa, we got a picture. There's no video.
We got a picture of what the confrontation looked like, Okay,
suddenly we're getting there, Mike Carmon, event we're getting there.
Eventually someone's gonna have video of this thing.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Well, but today's AI technology, we can have our own
video that we propagate by morning.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Oh you know, yeah, but I come yeah, like it
could have gone like this, like everything will suddenly be
like an ending of the movie clue. Oh, it could
have happened this way. It could have happened this way,
It could have happened this way. Oh, but it really
happened like this kind of enactment. E. I kind of
like to see how that really would have went down,
Like I can't yeah, happen. There's certain things like I'd

(02:04):
like to see alternate versions of Like would I like
to see an AI version of what happened if Bill
Buckner caught the ground or at first base right? Like
and and would he beat Mookie Wilson to the bag
with a met stilla won the game? Would they'd still
won the world because the game was tied at that
point in Game six of the eighty six World Series?
Like how how would that have gone? Like certain things

(02:26):
I wouldn't mind seeing that, but stuff like fights and
stuff is like I kind of I kind of want
to see the real thing.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Woll why don't we just make him claimation and just
bring back celebrity deathmatch.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
I thought you're going back to like Rudolph the Red
Nose Reindeer and you're without a Santa Claus, going back
to like we gonna there's Perl.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Suvererenal. What the guys that do Wallaston Grammitt to put
it together?

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Oh okay, that would be See that would be that
would be old school enough with a new school enough
twist on it. See yeah, that's you thinking, and well
wa at wards. But tonight we kind of have to
begin with a little bit of a somber note, at
least for me personally. Uh, Cavaliers beat the Celtics to
Night one twenty three one sixteen and watching this game
down the stretch and you see the night that Jason

(03:14):
Tatum had this monster forty six and sixteen and nine
night that wasn't enough because Donovan Mitchell had forty one.
Uh you know, I look at this and I go, yeah,
this is the Eastern Conference Finals. Like I sit here
and go, you know, the Knicks have a great starting
five and maybe the best starting five in the NBA,

(03:36):
and I let but I'm just look and I go,
this is every really really this is the Eastern Conference Finals.
Like I mean, like I hit, it's like a weird deal.
Like it's not like I've been coming to it. It's
just watching tonight and seeing the level of play that
the that these teams haven't obviously Boston getting out to
the big lead and the Cavaliers coming back. Look, there's

(03:57):
a reason why they had the best offense in the
NBA all year. And I just I just watch and
I go, yeah, these teams are just way more complete
than anybody else. I mean, look, you know we spend
a lot about the Lakers, and Lakers have the big
game coming up. We'll get to that in a few minutes.
Lebron is playing tonight, But the Celtics, Cavaliers and Thunder
more than anybody else watching those three teams play, I

(04:19):
can I can clearly say they are so they are
so much more complete than any other team, Like they're
more complete. Look as good as the Lakers are with
Luca and Lebron. Now those teams are more complete, because hey,
what do the Lakers have coming off the bench. Well, now, okay,
you got Hatchamura and Austin Reeves are gonna have bigger role. Okay,
so they have a really good starting five. They'll be
the Knicks. Right like all these other teams, I feel

(04:42):
like they have way more flaws and they're not as complete,
They're not as whole as these three teams. And look,
you're talking about the three teams with the best records
at the top of the NBA. But it's it's more
like these three teams are just such a cut above.
Like it's not like, hey, yeah, the Cavaliers and the
Celtics are the top two teams, but hey, it's a
toss up series when they play the Knicks or the
Bucks or anybody else. Like I just can't see that,

(05:05):
Like these three teams have shown that. Okay, it's the
three of us and really everybody else.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, I mean, we watch as the Cavaliers. They added
DeAndre Hunter. He's coming off the bench, a big rebound
and point guy. Right he was trapped in Atlanta for
all those years. Best season of his career this year,
averaging eighteen plus and now he's coming off the bench
and he's had a couple of double doubles. But their

(05:31):
efficiency ratings have been through the roof since his acquisition,
giving them more depth on the bench, and just a
fantastic finish here. I mean, this was a fun, fun one.
You know, when we talk about the NBA, since so
many of the NBA stars Lebron want to talk about
how everybody hates on the game, how about to turn
on the radio, stop listening to the same two dopes

(05:51):
that are in your head or whoever you're sick of
fans are passing near their Twitter accounts or video clips.
We've celebrated all these teams. Hell, we probably talked more
Detroit basketball than they have out anywhere outside of Detroit,
uh in terms of top teams in the Eastern Conference.
But there just is that level of separation, and it's

(06:12):
it's a little bit of the thing we did for
years here on the show Jason of the All Right,
we got a very small group of teams that we
just say, all right, obvious title contenders, and then we
start trying to argue our way into adding more of them.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Right your Knicks.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
For a while, it's like, Okay, they're gonna get healthy,
they're gonna get Robinson back, they're gonna not Well.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
It's more fun when you add the Knicks and the Lakers.
It's like, let's add more garlic to this. Hey, more
garlic would be awesome. What more garlic?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, and in America, just to add another pile of salts,
but all of that.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah, and more cheese. I want extra cheese? Can I
get heavy cheese? That's my new thing in the restaurants
now with is you have the choices because when you
order now at Kiosks, that that's not extra, it's heavy.
It's like, oh heavy choice. Heavy sounds great? Yeah, heavy cheese. Yeah,
like instead of an extra slice, like they just dropped
like a whole block on it. Yeah, here you go,
there's heavy cheese. I kind of dig that. Heavy guy.

(07:07):
I have to try that when I go out next.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
I don't think I'm supposed to eat that much cheese,
but you know what for giggles and for the purpose
of the shit, it's protein man.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
It's good for it. We're fine on PhD with protein man.
And also, Heavy Cheese is a great name for a band.
Oh that's a great name. Yeah, dude, you got the
new Heavy Cheese. Oh my god, it's awesome. Heavy Cheese
is great. That is a seventies offshoot. All the long guys,
really long but long mustaches. They all look like they're

(07:36):
from Supertramp. Hey, Heavy Cheese has this new one and
he's throwing out the little baby bells to the crowd.
I remember back in seventy four when I first saw
a Heavy Cheese live for the first time. Is it
a small arena and Sacramento, And boy, I tell you,
these guys came out, bell bottoms, guitars blazing. It was

(07:58):
some kind of show man. I do hate Heavy Cheese.
This album was gonna rock the first half of nineteen
seventy four. Yeah, but here's the problem. The first negative review.
They're just gonna figure out what the stinkiest Cheese is
and that's gonna be the headline. And I'm ever gonna
get rid of that. Yeah, yeah, no, it's gonna be
all you know, Uh, Heavy cheese, heavy cheese and you know,

(08:19):
album review heavy cheese. Much more blue this time around.
They went back to their roots on this one. It's
more of a Blue Age style. But no, it's it's fun.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
I mean, you got Memphis, they're thirty eight and twenty,
But do you really feel they're a threat? I don't know,
know it's such a slot den we keep willing right, Yeah, No,
they're definitely the next It's almost like how the the
MVP in the National League last year, where we said, hey,
okay Otani obviously hey, and Lindora is going to be
really happy to be the unanimous second place in the

(08:53):
nationally sure, Like that's kind of how I feel. There
is a clear second tier of wannabe title content in
the NBA, and it's led by the Knicks and the
Nuggets and the Lakers and the Grizzlies. Like those four
teams are at the top, Like, hey, who's that next
level I want to be? It's the Knicks, the Grizzlies,
the Nuggets, and the Lakers. Those are the teams.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Then everybody else is the next level below that. That's
where you get to your Bucks, Pistons, Pacers, Rockets, Clippers
like that's kind of where that's kind of where you're at.
So those four teams clearly in the second level.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
But now at seven and three in their last ten,
winners of their last five and coming off the beautiful
February twenty seventh is my day, Steph Curry with his
fifty six by the way, the number of great performances
on February the twenty seventh, I mean, it's Steph Curry
Day in the Bay Area. They're on the come and
really looking to chase down the Clippers. We'll see how
the Clippers fare over the next couple of nights playing

(09:47):
those home and homes against the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Now, I meanwhile, the other big news in the NBA today,
and you know, I hate to say, you know I
told you so, but I would not be surprised. In fact,
it should happen, and if they listen to the show,
which they should, but we should have seen Joel Embiid
play his final game in a Sixers uniform. We told

(10:11):
the other night he's not gonna play again. He doesn't
look like he wanted to play all season long. He's
not been healthy, he's not been motivated, and the Sixers
made it official today he will not play again the
rest of the season. Maybe he needs another knee surgery,
maybe not. Who knows what it is with him at
this point, but you can just tell the guy needs

(10:33):
to be someplace else. He doesn't want to be there,
and the Sixers need to move on Rightley, Not quite
the Miles Garrett of I want the blank out and
don't even put some contract offer in front of me,
But you can tell and Beid's kind of had it,
and the Sixers need to move on. And we've talked
about this for a while that this should be it.
And in the offseason, as long as Embiid has a

(10:53):
clean bill of health, yeah, there should be another whether
we talked about it last night because the Warriors are
one trade away from being back up at the top
of the Western Conference, and Joel Embiid is clearly a
gamble because any time you sign a big star in
free agency in the off season, most of them there's
going to be some level of risk. And you know,
but Embiid comes with risk because you're talking about talent

(11:15):
and motivation. Now for the next two years, I feel
like it Beat will be motivated enough to go to
go get him. I'm a big proponent of if he's
healthy and a change of scenery and Beid would really
be fantastic, right because the guy, as long as he can,
as long as he's a motivated Joel Embiid, he's a
terrific player, and he's not too far removed from being
the MVP of the NBA. I don't know what I
would do once he got too close to thirty five.

(11:37):
That's where I would kind of get out of the
Embiid business for the next couple of years. Sure, why not?
And it just this is just a move that's made
sense for both sides for so long. And instead of
it being a Luka Doncicic, Hey, we decided today we're
doing it, ripping the band aid off. This is more
we're all coming around to the idea and eventually we're
going to get to an inevitable conclusion. But this should

(11:59):
be an embat should have played his final game as
a sixer.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
Well.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
I remember we had that big moment ahead of the
trade deadline where all of a sudden he's given us
a triple doubles, Like I want to be traded.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
I don't want to play with Paul George or any
of these guys again, and then well, now now he's
not so Look, he's such a questioned asset at this
point for any team that would look to acquire or
if the Sixers want to run with him, because you
can't bank on a night to night whether he's going
to be there, So any kind of trade, I am

(12:31):
not giving you full value.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
I've been saying this for a very long time. Look,
we know it's really about the money at this point. Yeah,
we're taking the money, so you're.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Not gonna we said, we're not going to give you
back Anthony Davis like, we're taking the money here, Okay,
we're taking it enough.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
Well, but I'm just saying, like, somewhere here, either you're
eating a lot of this money and we were figuring
out this trade that way, or when we go through
the dopey NBA channels of matching up salaries and whatever else. Yeah,
here's you're getting every expired contract. And I'm looking through
my books to find out whether we have the rights

(13:07):
to Keith van Horn or any of those guys where
there's still a bunch of money because they're a tenured
veteran remanding you know what you're getting this.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Too, jerk just because I said so.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
But yeah, it's a very difficult trained to kind of
put together because, as you say, it's the if and
when and how and all that, I'm.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Not trusting it.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
This isn't I don't think of just a simple operation
shut down, you know what, he's sore or whatever. Well,
we're talking about these types of surgeries for a guy
that's already walked so many weary Miles missed several seasons
in their entirety. The game's mislog rivaling that of Zion
Williamson in terms of percentages that you know you're you're

(13:52):
not getting much, But if it gives you a new
identity in Philadelphia and you can reset with Maxi as
your star. Ideally you get rid of Paul George while
you're at it podcast p uh, and you get back
into the business of rebuilding that roster.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Yeah, this whole week has been the funeral, the funeral
for the process. Yeah, right, like we've had we've had
the funeral, we've had paulling hours, we've had the celebration
of life, like, we've had all of that for the process. Okay,
we're taking this entire week from the beginning of Hey,
embiid might not play again, but Paul George is stopping

(14:27):
his podcast with ridiculous reasons because it's way too late
to now and bead is not playing like this has
been with the funeral, the funeral in the middle of
the lunder in right now? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the
final one before people start getting out of Hey, when
do you leave? All my flight leaves at three? Okay, great, hey,
okay you thank thanks for coming all this stuff. Yeah,
that's what you have right now, that's what you have. Yeah,
the process. There, go get some more ham there you

(17:01):
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. It'll always pop up
at the top of your screen. Just lock it in
and rip the knob off Z one hundred. I can
never get it. I can never get that out of
my head. Now, just like your preset's on the right,
lock it in and rip the knob off. So great.

(17:22):
You know, I think about that and I go, I
got to explain to millennials what that means. People will go,
what are you talking about a knob? It's well, it's
how you would turn your dial in a radio, I
just press the button. Yeah, okay. Well, in cars in
the seventies and eighties, there was a knob, but you
turned to dial in your station to go, you would
have to just spin the knob to go from like
ninety three to one to one hundred, and you had

(17:43):
to like when you got there, you had to just
really go slow until you got the clearest reception possible.
I can't believe that's out. That's how we used to
listen to radio stage. I can't believe that we used listening.
Oh I got it. Wait a wait, no, no, go
back a little bit to the left, the back of it.
Oh no, no, back to the right, no, perfect, perfect,
leave it, leave it, leave it good, good okay.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Well, it's like watching anything with with my daughters. And
suddenly there's the concept of rabbit ears for the television
and just stand there in holding.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Stand there in hold hold rabbit ears, just hold it.
Why is that hanging off to TV?

Speaker 4 (18:14):
Like that?

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Don't whatever works? Man? Whatever works? Oh man, I'll tell you.
I just can't get over that. Oh. So, we have
more from the NBA coming up in a few minutes.
But a big day in the NFL look, and I'm
not over selling this.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
You know.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Here we are on a Friday where the biggest domino,
the biggest quarterback storyline of the off season was solved
today because what happened with Matthew Stafford was going to
affect everyone. Matthew Stafford stays with Los Angeles, Okay, it
means one thing for all these other teams and need
quarterbacks in the off season. Matthew Stafford going to another

(18:52):
team meant something different for the Rams, something different for
the team that got Matthew Stafford. That was the biggest domino,
the big quarterback story by far. And we found out
today what we told you last night was gonna happen.
Right if you listen last night, we said, Hey, a
lot of smoke, a lot of stuff going on right now.
In the end, Matthew Stafford's not gonna leave the Rams

(19:13):
because there's not many contenders that can give him what
he wants. Yes, he wants more money. He doesn't want
to go and give away the last two years of
his career with the team. That's terrible, right for all
this posturing going on with Stafford wanting more money in
the Rams saying we don't want to give you more money.
In the end, if there were more contending teams out
there that were a quarterback away from the super Bowl,

(19:34):
I would get it. But the Steelers are the only ones.
They're the only contender where you can say at a quarterback,
and hey, they could be a super Bowl team. Everybody
else that's super Bowl contenders has quarterbacks. Steelers are the
only one. Steelers try to do things in the bargain
basement like they're like they they're They're the team that
walks into target and says, I to have anything on
my list, I'm just gonna got whatever the is the
dollar section right here at the beginning, I'm just gonna

(19:56):
get everything. Look, I got a notebook, and I got
a soap, and I got cookies on it's three dollars.
Like this is how the Steelers try to get their quarterbacks.
So you know, they're not going to give Stafford what
he wanted, which we said last night was two years
and seventy five million probably, and it turned out that
he might have gotten even more. Stafford met with the Giants.
According to the New York Post, Hey, the Giants had

(20:18):
an offer out there with him of two years and
potentially one hundred million dollars. But in the end it
wasn't enough, and Matthew Stafford went back to the Rams.
Today he got whatever it was, it was not publicized yet,
the more money he got. But Stafford got enough financial
compensation to stay with the Rams. And we told you
that's how it was going to end, because there was

(20:40):
there was simply nowhere else out there because Stafford, look,
he wants to win, right, he wants money, but he's
not one of those guys that I just want to
get paid and I don't care who pays me. I
want to get paid and I want to win.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
Right.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
He's had that big taste of winning with the Rams
and he wants to keep that going. He knows how
good the team is. So in the end when this
happened today, and it's hard because it's hard to get
a topic like this where where you can say, hey,
everything is good for all the sides. But yeah, this
was a win for the Rams and a win for Stafford. Right,
Stafford stays with a team where he's this close to

(21:11):
winning the Super Bowl because they were clearly the second
best team in the NFL when you break down the
playoffs last year, they almost beat the Eagles. They probably
should have beaten the Eagles and gotten to the super Bowl,
so it makes sense for him to stay there, and
it makes sense for the Rams rather than to try
to reload on the fly with a quarterback that's not Stafford.
I'm sure they had their next guy lined up. I'm

(21:33):
sure that whether it was Sam Darnold or somebody else,
they had their guy lined up. But it's still gonna
work better with Matthew Stafford and the Rams keep this
super Bowl window open for the next couple of years.
So this is one of those stories. There's nothing hot
on either side. It's cooler. Heads prevailed. Stafford made the
right decision, the Rams made the right decision, and he's
where he should be. This is the way the way

(21:54):
it should have gone. And Stafford, I give him credit
because he played a drama where there wasn't really a
lot of drama. Hey, I might retire. I want to
get a new deal someplace else. And he turned into
more money with the Rams. So good for Stafford. But
in the end, this works for everybody. This is how
it should have been. Everybody wins. Mike and it's a Friday,
maybe because we're full of positivity on a Friday. Hey,

(22:15):
everybody wins in this story.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
All about positivity, and you know, instead of fighting each
other at a Starbucks, this is an exercise in how
to use the pawns that are insiders and reporters when
you want your information out. You know, Sean McVay is
really happy if he's got to run with Jimmy Garoppolo.
How many days did we have the Sam Darnold and

(22:37):
Sean McVay. They've been eyeballing him for a very long time.
Aaron Rodgers could be a guy with the Los Angeles Rams,
and now we turn our attention to whatever the giants
do and move it along. But it's just to that
point of all right, they did it too, saying all right,
go out and figure out what it is you want.
But to your point, any of these teams ever even

(22:59):
close to contend for anything other than saying, hey, with
the Raiders, you can save ten percent of your income
because there's no state income tax, and you could wear
a cool looking uniform with the Raiders. I mean, you're
four and four in the division quite obviously, right, you're
not gonna be and they've got a lot of money
to spend there's no question about that.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
But you know you've got to get every bit of
that right to be able to make that work. You know,
this is another one where Tom Brady is on the
slopes or in the chalet or whatever, and it didn't work.
So you know clearly his recruiting skills and brand and
that of the Raiders aren't as great as perception would
have you believe.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
You will come to the writ now I'm not gonna
do it, Tom, I'm out. So you've got that. And
for Stafford, yeah, you look at the bigger, bigger picture.
He's made a ton of money, not that you wouldn't
trade at all for a little more Montgomery Burns style,
but you're looking at the opportunity unity in that division

(24:02):
because what are all the other stories circulating? Look at
all the guys that Seattle may offload before it's all
said and done.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Right, here's DK Metcalf, he may go here, here, here,
we gotta get to that. That's a great rumor, man.
You got to get to that. DK Metcalf room next hour, man.
But that's the thing, right, You've got all these rumors
of all right, which of those guys stays Smith and
Jigma and the other guys are both gone, right, Lockett
could be gone to and you still have Geno and
you re up from there Arizona. Are they ever gonna

(24:30):
break through? I don't think you're really banking on that.
In San Francisco, we know is in complete overhaul. All
the rumors of where Debo's gonna end up is I
you gonna come back the same guy, George Kittle. For
all we're talking about how old Travis Kelsey is. George
Kittle's missed a bunch of games. He's a year older too,
and he might be in the elimination chamber tomorrow night
for the WWE before it's all said and done. So

(24:52):
you have no idea in brock Purty. Love him or
hate him, You've got that. So for Stafford, you're looking
at legacy history or whatever. I can make another eighty
or whatever the number end up being disclosed and potentially
get back to another Super Bowl run with this squad.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
Oh by the way, on the day they announced that
they're bringing me back, he probably got a text going,
oh yeah, we also took care of Jackson. He's sticking
around for another three years as well. So you'll have
a guy to keep you up right. Yeah, okay, I'm
in you know what I mean, three years, fifty seven
million dollars extension.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
You know you guarantee sure all of the like that
that comes down everybody like Stafford's having, like no, no, no.
The other thing is they they send them a picture
and said, this guy resigned. It's like the old seventy
six Tops baseball cards when you had the this guy's
been traded. They didn't have an updating uniform, so they
just put like a stamp on it like it was
a yeah stars on the side it would be traded

(25:50):
yeah yeah yeah. And then like what like in the
eighties they did the traded sets right like midway through
the season. You would get the new card with them
on their new team.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
Oh, the traded set comes out midway through nineteen eighty three, No,
it's it right, so ye had it in eighty one
was Fisk and Company. Eighty two that was the great
cal Ripkin junior card. Eighty three Tops had Darryl Strawberry
that was pretty sweet, and then the eighty four was
the classic with dwy goodin, Kirby Pucket and Roger Clemens
on the Fleer side of things. So all of that

(26:20):
to say, yeah, that's what he got. He got that notice,
and it's like, yeah, I guess I'm in.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Huh. Let's go exit out about a Fresco exit swollen
Dome The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon.
We got more NFL coming up in ninety seconds, but first,
let's find out what's trending in the wide world of
sports from a man who's been called the og and
unobia Fox Sports Radio, Why because he hits game winning
threes to beat the Grizzlies. It's Steve de Seger with

(26:47):
what's trending?

Speaker 6 (26:48):
How did I know we were going there?

Speaker 1 (26:50):
Yes, in the final seconds.

Speaker 6 (26:51):
The next win at Memphis one fourteen one thirteen, John
Moran did have twenty five points, but missed the last
second layup at ten Grizzlies from three point range four
for thirty one the feature matchup late.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Well, here's the thing. They were four for thirty one, right, Well,
Howard hell are the in this game? Because they shot
thirty nine for sixty from inside the arc? Right they were?
They were thirty nine. They shot like an eighty percent
from inside the arc. It was justice.

Speaker 6 (27:16):
They couldn't hit a three all night and then they lost,
giving up a three yeah about five seconds ago. Denver
wont at Detroit, ending the Pistons eight game winning streak
one thirty four one nineteen. The Clippers are currently leading
at the Lakers twenty three eighteen late in the first
quarter fifty percent shooting for the Clips. Lakers do have
in the starting lineup tonight, Lebron James, who was originally

(27:38):
questionable with his foot injury. Luka Donzitch is playing. He
was called a game time decision with the bad calf earlier.
Cleveland won it's ninth in a row. What a comeback
at Boston won twenty three to one sixteen. Calves were
down twenty five to three in the first five minutes
of this game and still won it on the road
against the Deefenic champs. Donovan Mitchell forty one points. Cavs

(28:00):
guard Darius Garland return tonight. He missed the previous two
games with the bruise hip. He had twenty points. Oklahoma
City's now forty eight and eleven after winning it Atlanta
one thirty five one nineteen. Shay Gilgis Alexander thirty one points.
Portland won at Brooklyn Miami over Indiana Sons with a
huge lead late in the third against the Pelicans eighty
eight sixty four. Looks like the Pels record will go

(28:22):
to sixteen and forty four. For New Orleans, Zion Williamson
is out for Rest Tonight. The Bowls are in overtime,
leading the Raptors one thirteen to one ten, still about
three minutes to go. In the OT. The Timberwolves are
winning without Anthony Edwards. He's serving his one game suspension
tonight because of too many technical fouls this season. Tea
Wolves up at the half at Utah sixty seven fifty

(28:45):
six Utah with a record of fourteen and forty four.
Joel Embii to the Sixers will miss the rest of
the season with his bad knee. In fact, he had
a series of tests this past week. He's been deemed
medically unable to play. Saturday, Philadelphia, losers of nine straight,
will host Golden State, which is won five in a row.
Jimmy Butler the Warriors, questionable for that game due to backspasms.

(29:05):
There was college hoops on Fox TV again tonight, a
Friday tradition now number twenty. Perdue at Home beat UCLA
Trail to Bruins with seven and a half minutes left,
but beat UCLA seventy six to sixty six. And a
programming note. As women's basketball ends its regular season this weekend,
Number two UCLA Saturday Night will host number four USC

(29:26):
on Fox TV. Just three NHL games this evening Toronto
a three to two winner at the Rangers at Dallas
Stars had beat in La six to two, and late
second period at Colorado Avs over Minnesota four to two.
Show hey Otani homerd in his first at bat of
spring tonight, and it came against his old team, the Angels,
who have just taken a ninth inning lead five to

(29:48):
four over the Dodgers. Dustin May was the Dodger starting
pitcher all out of Grand Slam. In the second Yankees
pitcher Luis Hill stopped his bullpen session due to shoulder
tightness eleven MR. He was Rookie of the Year in
the American League last season. The Yankees did win their
exhibition tonight six three over Toronto. The win to Garrett
col who had five strikeouts in three and a third innings.

(30:09):
Cody Bellinger Homard and this programming note. The IndyCar season
begins this Sunday, with all seventeen races this season now
on Fox TV, including the Indy five late May. IndyCar
season ends in August. NASCAR is also on Fox TV
this Sunday from the Road Course in Austin, Texas, and
then NASCAR will switch to f S one after this

(30:30):
weekend for six straight Sundays.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve. O Hey, just real quick,
do you have did Nester Court test say today?

Speaker 4 (30:37):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Hey, if we had Louis Heel in the World Series,
we would have swept the Dodgers.

Speaker 6 (30:41):
Say that for him on the mound and the tenth
inning against Freddy Freeman, maybe that would have made a difference.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
If anybody but me was on the mound, we sweeped
the Dodgers. Thank you, Steve. Now I mentioned this and
screw it. We'll just do it now because you know
it's Friday. Let me talk about positive Friday and things
that worked out for both teams. Yes, Stafford staying with
the Rams. Uh big NFL possibility. A couple of reports
that the Packers and Seahawks have a deal on the

(31:09):
table that could send dk Metcalf to the Packers in
exchange for the first round pick of the Packers this
year and one of their younger receivers, either Romeo Dubbs,
maybe Dantevian Wicks. So this is potentially what is out
there for DK Metcalf and again again, hey maybe all
these great things come up on a Friday for a reason.

(31:32):
This is a win win for both teams. It's an
app because the Packers clearly, look, Jordan Love is a
really good quarterback and I know he didn't quite have
the year this year that you expect him to have
coming off of last year. He still makes his receivers better,
but I think you saw this year you kind of
need that that one that one guy to be the

(31:54):
to be the a receiver. You need the one guy
that can catch you need yeah, you need the one
guy that you can look for on third down, the
one guy you're gonna go to in the red zone.

Speaker 6 (32:02):
You need that.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
And you have a lot of really good young receivers.
Look with Watson and Dubs and Wicks like that, they
have lots of really good young young receivers, but they
don't have that one. Hey, this is our guy, right,
So getting Dk Metcalf, who's twenty seven and still an
elite receiver, Yeah, that would be an incredible move for
the Packers and for the Seahawks to get a first

(32:24):
round pick and a younger wide receiver. That's huge because
Metcalf is really good, but he's been eclipsed by Jackson
Smith the Jigbu. He is terrific. He's the back half
of the year. Smith the Jigba put up an incredible
stat line in every game. He was a target monster.
He's what you watched the Seahawks play the second half
of the season. It's easy to tell this is the

(32:46):
guy they go to. And is there room for DK
Metcalf for another guy making a lot of money or
is it better to have another good receiver you can
throw in there with Smith the Jigbu and Locket whoever
else that Hey, okay, this is you know, this work
out better and we get a first round pick to
shore up another position. So again, this is another deal
that I see this for the Packers, Yeah, makes complete sense,

(33:08):
first round picking a young receiver. Yeah, and you get
DK Metcalf of your Green Bay one hundred percent. This
is a phenomenal move for both sides, and I would
sign off on this both sides tomorrow if I were
these teams well.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
And for Seattle, you're trying to figure out what the
hell your direction is. You've got to pay several of
these guys, right, You've got to pay a couple of
your receivers. Locket coming up, and then Metcalf also in
the final year of his deal. So you're not gonna
load up fully on wide receivers Cuz, let's face it,
Gino is not your long term as much as we

(33:43):
love him and we chant his name on Monday nights
or Thursday nights whenever they're playing in our window or
he has that monster game, because well it still vexes
you after all these years, still crazy, after all these
years that you get those Geno big moments. I mean,
he's not the long term solution. So you've got to
start the overhaul, and paying a bunch of wide receivers

(34:07):
ain't the way to do it. With a defensive minded coach,
you need to work on that side of the ball.
You need to work on the interior. I like Walker
when he's healthy. You got Charbona there, so you got
a couple of backs that get it done. But from
the wide receiver point, you know, and I joked about
someone who can catch the ball Packers receiver is a
total of thirty four drops last year. Think about how

(34:28):
much better Jordan Love than the Packers' offense looks. If
someone can actually secure the ball for a first down.
Oh wait, that's what we just said Dk Metcalf could do.
So there's your opportunity.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
And for the.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
Seahawks, you also pick up the first round pick and
really start building towards the future. So it's it's a
perfect wow, win win. That doesn't happen often. Someone's got
no man. I mean, Mark Murphy said some dumb things.
Can I still just keep going at him?

Speaker 1 (34:55):
No, It's okay, It's okay because we've had a lot.
You want to know who's gonna lose with with an
NFL story. I'll tell you exactly what I am gonna
lose if this NFL story that we think could happen
could happen. So we have that coming up. They and
the Yang we have all the positivity, but I'll tell
you why. I will lose. But everybody else will win,

(35:16):
but I will lose really big if this quarterback story happens.
That's next right here, Okay, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon. Yeah, Live from the tire rack dot
Com studios, where, Yeah, with every bit of positivity we
talk about in sports, yeah, there comes a story like
this Yin and Yang baby balance in the force. So

(35:58):
we talked a lot about Matthew Stafford re signing with
the Rams, staying big flirtation. The Giants were in on him.
He met with the Giants, met with Brady, all the
clandestine meetings that happened or didn't happen that may or
may not have caused fights at Starbucks. But now the
Giants who were left at the altar by Matthew Stafford

(36:20):
are potentially pivoting, as the Giants have said about discussing
the potential of bringing in wait for it, wait for it,
wait for it, Aaron Rodgers as they're starting quarterback. This
according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. You know, when I saw

(36:43):
this today, I said, you know, I can't even I can't.
I can't even have I can't you know, at least
when Darnald When the Jets got rid of Darnald, they
sent him so far away like Carolina, Fine and having
to watch Donald do well in Minnesota. Okay, fin, you
know whatever. I don'tkay, no, no, no, because I know

(37:04):
what's gonna happen. I know the Giants are gonna get
Aaron Rodgers, and all of a sudden, I'm gonna have
to watch Aaron Rodgers lead a great what a rag
tag run Rogers is leading? Sudden it looks like Rogers
the Elak neighbors have played together their whole career. Cause
you just know if he goes to the Giants, he's
gonna be terrific. He's gonna say things like, oh, you know,

(37:25):
the Jets were great. You know, I don't want to
say anything bad about them. It was a great two years.
I love New York. I love my time there. I
wish I was healthier. I wish I was healthy for
my time there. But I feel great right now, and
my arm feels good and my legs feel good, and
I can play another three four years and look at this,
and hey, I'm just enjoying things. Now. Here are the
Giants and Brian Dable not only gets to keep his

(37:47):
job he gets a contract extension, Joe Shane gets to stay.
All of a sudden, it's look at this. You just
all they needed was Aaron Rodgers to show up, and
everything is phenomenal with the Giants. We traded and got
Saquon Barkley back. It's fantastic. Let's take look at it.
Everything's coming up Giants. I just know that's gonna happen.
I've already steeled myself for the fact that I'm gonna

(38:07):
have to watch Aaron Rodgers. Now. It is that not
going crazy to lead some sort of wild card run,
because you know, look, they're they're not they're not nearly
the best team in the division. But watching lead them
some kind of crazy wild card run where they're a
little bit above five hundred all year while the Jets
try to figure things out and make it work with

(38:28):
whoever they're gonna wind up getting. And I just to
sit back and go I believe in Aaron Glenn. Sure,
I believe in Aaron. And look at Aaron Rodgers here,
look at Rodgers leader. Everything is great. No one's talking
about Tommy Devino anymore. I just know this is gonna happen.
It's gonna be great for everybody. That's the story like
that is great for everybody. Sucks for me, but it's
great for everybody. But I'm okay, I got big shoulders.

(38:49):
I'll take wan.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Dale Robinson becomes a PPR. Montag Tracy is suddenly U
fifteen yard back total between this running and receiving, and
he's making it work. Like a lot of it comes
back to Andrew Thomas staying healthy. That defense had a

(39:10):
couple of component parts that were moderately interesting. It's just, well,
you didn't have a quarterback, right, you don't have a quarterback?
What do we always say?

Speaker 1 (39:17):
You got nothing?

Speaker 3 (39:19):
And look, he's used to New York, New Jersey and
he's got a home there. He's got homes everywhere people,
so that doesn't matter. But if he truly does love
the life that he's built there, then you have an opportunity.
You still play on a grand stage because even when
they suck, and we know they're going to suck, the
Giants are on national TV windows all the damn time.

(39:41):
So more Aaron Rodgers for everybody. So yeah, and Malik
Neighbors was a beast with me throwing to him last year,
So you've got an opportunity here and a top draft
pick to keep adding assets. Yeah, it's the best of
the spots available, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Just just Hey, I wish I'd play with a back
like Tyrone Tracy my entire career. He does everything, catches
him all in the backfield. You're right, this is what
talent we have on this Giants team. I just that's
that's how it's gonna go.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
I think Raiders are taxes, tax savings and the branding.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
Yeah, the Giants historical franchise, just like the Raiders. And
right there, No, that's getting You're so sad. No, it's
Ititch made it. At least as I get older, now
I can accept the worst case scenario for my teams
and everything else happening much easier than like, oh man,
I wish that won't happen. I can't even think about it. No,

(40:41):
accept it right away the way when it does happen, Okay,
I've dealt with I've known it was coming.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
Well, you knew it was coming, And if something else
does happen, you'll be pleasantly surprised and in a much
better mood.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
Aaron Rodgers twenty twenty five NFL MVP Coming up next.
Speaking of quarterbacks, we got a big one coming up
next here the Big Fox Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, it's
a Friday night, It's a party night, party all the time.
Jason Smith Mike Harmon live from the tiraq dot com studios,

(41:12):
Day two of the Combine, in full swing, quarterbacks or talk,
and everybody's thinking what's gonna happen early on in the draft?
Joining us now in the hot line. Nobody better to
break it all down than the owner, editor, proprietor of
College Footballnews dot Com. You're one stop shopping for everything
college football. He's on Twitter at Pete Feutech. It is

(41:33):
Pete feutech Pete. Now, before we start with any college football,
I want to know all the combines you've been to
over the course of your career. Have you ever nearly,
almost or gotten in a fight with somebody out of
Starbucks or another coffee place like Coffee.

Speaker 5 (41:48):
Mean, I have never actually been to the combine, which
is kind of crazy. I should I'm driving distance from
this thing. Let's think you sich a decent job on
NFL networking. You have to watch it, but I just
branch out to heavy. Have you ever been to a
fight he had a Starbucks or a coffee Bean.

Speaker 4 (42:07):
No, I don't that.

Speaker 1 (42:09):
So, yeah, he's not over yet, Pete. Hey, wait, wait,
did I get into that with with mel Kiper at
Seattle's Best Doing? I forget where it was. Hang on,
I don't. I don't really know. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (42:21):
Yeah, exactly, No, I'm hoping. I'm open for all of it.
And and look, you know it's you. You're the one
who said Lamar Jackson should have been a receiver trouble.

Speaker 1 (42:34):
All right, Look, well let's start with what we've heard
the last couple of days. All the quarterbacks are talking,
and you know, shador Sanders said today, I'm going to
change franchises. History is going to repeat itself. What happened
at Colorado's gonna happen in the NFL. I mean, Pete,
I love so much about him, I said a few
minutes ago. The only thing is he's a great front runner.
When things got dicey, he really started pointing fingers at Colorado.

(42:58):
That that's the only thing that makes me have pause
about Shadora Sanders. How do you see him translating at
the next level.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
I actually do the flip side of that. I actually think.

Speaker 5 (43:08):
He's underappreciated for basically taking a beating uh game in
and game out, even when they were down, he would
stay in there and he would keep fighting. And he
is I don't think he gets enough credit for being
just really really tough. Now, is he going to be
that guy where, you know, if things go wrong, he's

(43:30):
not gonna believe it?

Speaker 4 (43:31):
I don't think so.

Speaker 5 (43:32):
I think he's going to be professional. I mean, you know,
that was the thing about Scudy Dion is that for
all the flash and all the Prime and all blah
blah blah, to a teammate, he's always been known as,
you know, the most professional guy out there.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
You know.

Speaker 5 (43:47):
Obviously he had you know, incident instant things, you know,
Tim McCarver and things like that. But in terms of
you know, on the field, terms of being a professional,
you know, Prime has always been you know, first.

Speaker 4 (43:57):
Rate, you know, And so I I think that going
to be Schador too. I like him.

Speaker 5 (44:02):
Back I think there's there's a little backlash. I think
a little bit because he's a little too you know,
you know, cocky and Prime and the on and also
but he's got it.

Speaker 4 (44:13):
I mean he's I mean that that Colorado team didn't
have much.

Speaker 5 (44:17):
Of anything when it started. He certainly didn't have an
offensive line, and he stayed out there. And again, I
do not think he gets enough credit for being as
tough as he is. And we know he's a rookie
quarterback and a bad team. You're gonna have to get
used to getting hit a lot, and I don't think.

Speaker 4 (44:33):
That's gonna face him.

Speaker 5 (44:34):
This is not a great quarterback draft, but I do
like him, and I'd like him better than Cam Mood
and I certainly like him better than all the free
agent options out there that you're gonna spend forty.

Speaker 4 (44:44):
Million on to get Pete.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
Let's stay with his teammate Travis Hunter. A lot of
questions next level and what he is. He's working out
at the combine as a quarterback, but at the pro level,
I mean, is he nothing more than a decoy as
a wide receiver? You know, like Norman Dale wanted to
use Chip would on the final play or got it
could be viable?

Speaker 4 (45:05):
Am I allowed to get it?

Speaker 5 (45:06):
And that's it, By the way, when we get in
the deep roots of it, you got to get me
on a Friday, and I don't like mid June when
nothing else is going on, and we'll get into my
Normandale's the most overrated coach of all time. He doesn't
get fifteen out there, fifteen doesn't show up, then that's
that he's not going.

Speaker 4 (45:22):
He's fired, gone.

Speaker 5 (45:23):
We never hear of Normandale again.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
But he got fifteen. He went his own personal nil
was Myra, Barbara Hershey. He went to Myra. He got
him in. That's what great coaches do.

Speaker 5 (45:33):
And then I took that nine you about this get
you know, in recruiting, you go to the person who
can do gets done. And he did not sell Myra.
That is underappreciated for. But I digressed.

Speaker 4 (45:44):
But yeah, look.

Speaker 5 (45:48):
I've been wrong about Travis Hunter.

Speaker 4 (45:51):
I think I came on this.

Speaker 5 (45:52):
I said whatever you know, six seven months ago, whatever
it was, and said, there's no way to know.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
How Siger might.

Speaker 5 (45:58):
There's no chance Travis Hunt or wins the hydsman. You know,
So I was going to continue to make wrong statements
about Travis Hunter.

Speaker 4 (46:05):
I guess.

Speaker 5 (46:08):
If he's the number one pick, it's a bad draft.
It just he's he's not gonna go number one.

Speaker 4 (46:14):
I think people, I think people as others.

Speaker 5 (46:16):
They don't get freaked out about the foot Abduel Carter
is your number one.

Speaker 4 (46:19):
But uh, he's going to be a top three guy.
But you know what is he is? He is? He
in a weak shutdown Quarner. He's very good. I just
I don't know if he's that guy though, who's.

Speaker 5 (46:33):
Going to just change your franchise around in a rate
one side of the field like you know Prime did? Uh?
In terms of receiver, you know, where's the where's the
superstar coup for him? I I don't have it, Quay.
He's a a very good, high volume receiver. I don't
know if he's going to be that one of ones
of receiver who is you know, you just he's not

(46:55):
going to be Jamar Chaser, you know Jefferson or you know.

Speaker 4 (46:59):
I just don't see him being that guy.

Speaker 5 (47:01):
I think he's extremely good obviously at both I just
if you would give him one position and say that's
that's worthy of a top five pick, I'm not there.
And then when he's holding the Super.

Speaker 4 (47:13):
Bowl MVP Trophy up next year, you'll be boxed for this.
But I just don't see. I'm just not there with him.
Collaween professional.

Speaker 5 (47:22):
That's another guy from this Colorado thing, which again underappreciated.
He is a smart guy, great in the classroom, under professional.

Speaker 4 (47:31):
You're not gonna have problems with Travis Hunter.

Speaker 1 (47:33):
Wow, So if I'm catching your drift, here is now
Travis Hunter, all the great things he did, you don't
like him. So Jimmy Chitwood all the great things he did,
he was overrated to and Hoosiers like they really could
have gotten by with Merlin Ray Mayd taking all the shots.

Speaker 5 (47:48):
Oh no, I'm all for the idea of that's Brady,
you know, and here's no Bill Belichick without Tom Brady.
So you know, look again you take Shitwood off that team,
you know, just again they're they're five hundred at best,
and they just they're not going on. You know, Alway's
not coming in there.

Speaker 4 (48:06):
As you're sixth man and saving the day when you
need it out there. So no, it was all fifteen Hey.

Speaker 1 (48:12):
What do you uh?

Speaker 2 (48:13):
What do you?

Speaker 1 (48:13):
What do you think of?

Speaker 4 (48:15):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (48:15):
Because we haven't gotten into this yet tonight, what you well,
in a bit, but what do you think of North
Carolina doing the off season hard knocks?

Speaker 4 (48:22):
Well, the weird part about.

Speaker 5 (48:24):
It is Bill Belichick strangely really really entertaining. He's for
being Bill Belichick. He's a funny guy. He just doesn't
come across that way and the way he's coaching. Look,
North Carolina's going to be a weird team, and I
don't know how hard. I mean, I'm gonna guess they've
done it and I'm going to look stupid here. But
I don't know how Hard Knocks works on a college

(48:45):
level because kind of the whole point of Hard Knocks
is the storyline of the guy from Iowa, Test Central
whatever who you know, is just making it. He's got
the girlfriend and their their dream.

Speaker 4 (48:59):
They never thought this was to happen. Then you know,
he gets whacked and then picked up, you know, by
someone else and play special teams or something like that.
There's that storyline of will here when he make the team.
You don't really have that here.

Speaker 5 (49:10):
I mean, I guess you've got a quarterback battle maybe coming,
but that team does not have a ton of talent
coming back, so.

Speaker 4 (49:17):
It'll be a lot of position things to do.

Speaker 5 (49:20):
I don't know how you can do the transfer portal
on Hard Knocks and make that interesting. I just don't
get what's going to be really all that fascinating about
North Carolina because Belichick unless he's really opening up. Is
not going to be that entertaining a guy on a
team that really doesn't have a lot of experience returning.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
It's a lot of his girlfriends. A lot of girlfriends.

Speaker 5 (49:40):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I forgot about that one.

Speaker 4 (49:43):
See that's the problem.

Speaker 5 (49:45):
I don't think outside the box like you guys. I
need to unplug for a while and get to the
real part of it. Of course, the girlfriend Yes, that's
got to be at least forty percent of the show.

Speaker 3 (49:55):
The wise of girlfriends have been the stars of the
show several times in the past. The dolphins were boring
as hell, what's that all?

Speaker 1 (50:03):
Look? Who's wife?

Speaker 4 (50:03):
It is?

Speaker 3 (50:04):
So you got that going for you? So Pete, so
out of the weekend? So like, what do you what
are you gleaning off of what you're watching on TV?
You getting excited about the bench press or the forty
or you amp it up to run your own forty?

Speaker 1 (50:16):
Like what are we doing?

Speaker 5 (50:18):
Oh yeah, my forty and forever?

Speaker 4 (50:20):
These guys, Look, if you're really good, you're not there.
I mean, that's kind of this is kind of a show.

Speaker 5 (50:27):
It's a little bit amateur er. It looks it's a
little secret that no one wants to let out of
the bag. And I'm addicted to it all and I'm
part of it too, so I admit that this is me.
The whole NFL scouting process is hu hah. Like, if
you don't know these guys by now, you've either not
done your homework.

Speaker 4 (50:44):
Or kind of laziness. So basically, you just want to
make sure that.

Speaker 5 (50:47):
These guys are the Really, it's the weigh in that
does more than anything else, because the colleges are all
going to every college everybody is six ten and four
hundred pounds and runs four two forties, you know, so
like you want to make sure that everyone kind of
measures right and actually is the size and all that stuff.

Speaker 4 (51:04):
But really, can you play or can't you play? That's
really what this is the NFL draft. It's the numbers.
Bear it out.

Speaker 5 (51:12):
You got to really totally screw up to not get
a start.

Speaker 4 (51:15):
A productive starter in the first round.

Speaker 5 (51:17):
Second round is about seventy percent, third round drops a
fifty percent after that.

Speaker 4 (51:21):
If you find a productive starter after that, it's dumb luck.

Speaker 5 (51:24):
So again, Lamara first number one overall pick No. Which
Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jalen hurts any of those guys
top five overall picks. No was Aaron Donald the first,
No JJ Watt, and just it's it's a lot of
fun just to look at these guys that working out
because they are the elite athletes of the world. It's

(51:44):
always the crazy stats. Look, can you look up NBA
combined vertical to compare the NFL combine verticals.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
And it's kind of the thing that blows their away.

Speaker 5 (51:54):
These guys are jumping higher than NBA players, they have
better verticals. These are amazing elite athletes, and so just
just in the flat and marveling of what these guys
could do. And they're getting hit all the time and
taking all these punishments and pain.

Speaker 4 (52:09):
These are just amazingly elite guys and it's.

Speaker 5 (52:13):
Interesting to watch them just kind of do what they
do and just we're kind of used to it by
now that all these guys run four or five. That's
they're just the simple act of what they're doing is
pretty impressive.

Speaker 4 (52:23):
That show just all amazing. NFL really is.

Speaker 1 (52:25):
Yeah, that's why I like cam mood. They said, hey,
are you gonna throw at the combine? No, dude, I
think my five years of film shows everything I can do.
I dig that. He said that, dude, why do I
need to throw you have five years of film on me?
I like that.

Speaker 5 (52:38):
Yeah again, it's no, you're I mean like, oh, well,
we're not going to take cam Ward now because he
didn't work out the college. Come on, I mean, you
know again, there's he is no real point to it unless.

Speaker 4 (52:50):
You're kind of I get it.

Speaker 5 (52:51):
If you're like a corner there's a deep group of cornerbacks.
You just want to look just a little more fluid
than rest.

Speaker 4 (52:57):
He's got the really deep class of edge rushers, and
you want to look the part.

Speaker 5 (53:02):
But at the end of the day, it either kind
of confirms or denies what you already know. If you've
already done the film work on these guys, if you've
seen them for three or two years or whatever it is,
and you know what they can do, you just kind
of want to see that, all right. You know, are
you really that bat?

Speaker 4 (53:18):
Are you're really that smooth?

Speaker 5 (53:19):
Are you really that good? And at the end of
the day, just go back and look and see, Oh, yeah,
you're the guy who disrupted everyone else's game plan. Oh
but you ran like a four to seven.

Speaker 4 (53:28):
You just you kind of have to, you know, put
the whole puzzle together.

Speaker 5 (53:31):
But like you just got mentioned too, Camboard, we kind
of if you don't.

Speaker 4 (53:34):
Know who he is right now, you know he's good.

Speaker 5 (53:38):
He's going to also get you beat sometimes. I'm not
the biggest fan of his in terms of being a
top five overall pick, but.

Speaker 4 (53:47):
Yeah, he's pretty good. If he's not the one quarterback
off the board, he's too.

Speaker 1 (53:52):
He's on Twitter at Pete few Tech. That is at
Pete Feutech. Check out college Footballnews dot com everything you
