Somehow Northwestern cut it to two with twenty seconds left
to go, missed free throws, turnovers, and all of a sudden,

Northwestern cuts this lead. And look, it's a big game
for UCLA. They're in sixth place. In the Big Ten.
If they win, it's a huge w You're talking about
twenty one to nine, twelve and seven in the Big Ten,
maybe punching a ticket to the dance. A loss is
absolutely brutal for them. And boy, I don't know what
I was rooting for, you know here in La Ucla,
but you went to Northwestern. But in the end, I

think I was rooting for Northwestern because I really would
love to see Mick Cronin's press conference following this game.
This would be like that Wayne's world line. Dude, you
ever see the movie Scanners when the guy's head just explodes,
like I think I was wanting. I wanted that in
the postgame.

Well, once they had that massive thirteen to one run,
Northwestern to cut it, as you said, and then you
have a sequence of events that can't wait to hear
how the officials try to explain in the adjudication of
what went down that now has u c l A
up five and back at the foul line six point game,
seven point two seconds remaining. Northwestern driving to the bucket,

argue about contact file no foul and then gets to
pass out as UCLA does foul again.

the rack. So a lot of questions in the final

I would be. I would be a fan of like
going to a press conference and lying to him about

like Northwestern had a streak where they didn't commit a fall,
and the play by play you got Josh Lewin, who
has had his run ins with Mick Crone in the

He's like, wow, they haven't called the fall in Northwestern

I think there was wasn't a lot of falls to
be called, like okay, one guy just doesn't want to
hear it again. The other guy is basically I don't
care Ucla wins the game. My brother in attendance, I'm
sure I'll get some choice texts from him at some
point as the night goes on. But congratulation Ucla Northwestern
trying to cling to a top fifteen.

Yeah, the big ten. So hey, so they could play
at the tournament. You want to get in the tournament, right,
You just want to be able to do this. This

that Syracuse clinched a spot in the ACC tournament, But

raise prices next season.

bad time to bring it up. But we agreed to

of this story the fact that who knows how long
they're gonna be without Kyrie Irving, because look, we talked
about the Mavericks. They just have to get past this, right. Yes,

you just have to take it. No matter how many

and the drinking and the hookah and no, people are

still gonna be mad because Luca's come to the Lakers.
Lakers may not lose again. Right, He's figured things out.
You have a really good team, right, they have a
really good team. When Ad gets back, watch how good
this team is with Ad and Kyrie. This is a
team that can do some damage. But you have to wait.
I know it sucks. I know you hate getting made
fun of and you hate being the butt of jokes,

but you have to just wait on this and where
things are gonna turn, you're gonna say, hey, but still
believe in us. But now Kyrie Irving is out. Was
helped off the floor after suffering a left knee sprain
against the Kings late in the first quarter. He got hurt.
Mavericks wind up losing one two ninety eight. Boy, all
the good, feel, all the good things they could have
had going forward with Ad and Kyrie Irving. Now you

wonder how things are even gonna go for them the
rest of the way, because with a sprain knee from
Kyrie Irving, you're already thinking, well, with Ad out, what
kind of year are we gonna have the rest of
the way. You wonder how when you're gonna see Kyrie
Irving again? The guy's thirty two, a knee sprain, Do
you really want to bring him back? Do you really
think you're gonna go through the Western Conference with Ad
dinged up and and a less than hundred percent Kyrie Irving?

Or is this where you know what we got to
put it away for next year? Because next year, after
we've had time to gel and figure out what other
parts we want to get, We're not spending three and
a million on Luca, so we can go spend more
money in the offseason. Dallas can make themselves a good team.

but it didn't work and now you got to pay.
So he's not the first guy nor the last guy

But in the end I was okay with it. I mean,
it's not a it's I'm kind of man on Deebo
for Washington because he's on a three year decline. Right,
he's twenty nine years old. He is someone at every

wide receiver running back metric. He's not that guy. He's
not gonna go. He's not gonna go to Washington. And
suddenly you know, seven catches for eighty yards, four rushes
for thirty eight yards, a touchdown, rushing a touch that's
not who he is anymore. He's not He's gonna be
a great gadget guy. He'll be a great slot receiver.

He'll be a great third receiver. Rather, I should say
he'll be a really good third receiver and a gadget guy. Right,
And if you need that, okay, great, because you have
a good number one. You don't really have a number
two because like Noah Brown, is he really your number two? Okay,
you have your number one in McLaurin, but he'll be
an okay, number three. But to expect this is gonna
shock the world and suddenly here's the commanders are gonna

leap frog the Eagles. Eh, it's kind of a man move,
Like this is kind of who Dibo was at this point.
He's a he's a number three receiver. Is he gonna
stay on the field. Is he gonna be able to
wind up contributing like you think he's going to, Like
he's wanted out for a long time, so okay, now
you're gone. But is he suddenly gonna find the fountain
of youth and be motivated or is he gonna say, Okay,

I'm out and I'm not gonna get paid again, and
this is kind of what you're gonna get. I'm not
as enthused over the top about Deebo Samuel as a
lot of other people.

Well, INCENTIVI I's final year of his contract and watching
it had plenty of cap space, so that allows them
to absorb this pretty easy for San Francisco, as you say,
they've got a lot of free agents and guys that
need to look at and clearly we try to examine it. Right,
we get into the parsing of words between reasons and

excuses for performance or lack therap, particularly this last year. Right,
there's no denying the three year decline as a guy
who was used a lot more as a running back
than perhaps he should be. Right, when you want to
go to a gadget, it's kind of situation and get
the ball into an electrifying players hands, isn't it supposed

to be two or three times a game? Not, Hey,
Christian McCaffrey's out and this guy got hurt, and that
guy got hurt, and Mitchell's not available, and Guarenda, oh
he just got hurt.

for UCLA. They're in sixth place. In the Big Ten.
If they win, it's a huge w You're talking about
twenty one to nine, twelve and seven in the Big Ten,
maybe punching a ticket to the dance. A loss is
absolutely brutal for them. And boy, I don't know what
I was rooting for, you know here in La Ucla,
but you went to Northwestern. But in the end, I

think I was rooting for Northwestern because I really would
love to see Mick Cronin's press conference following this game.
This would be like that Wayne's world line. Dude, you
ever see the movie Scanners when the guy's head just explodes,
like I think I was wanting. I wanted that in
the postgame.

Well, once they had that massive thirteen to one run,
Northwestern to cut it, as you said, and then you
have a sequence of events that can't wait to hear
how the officials try to explain in the adjudication of
what went down that now has u c l A
up five and back at the foul line six point game,
seven point two seconds remaining. Northwestern driving to the bucket,

argue about contact file no foul and then gets to
pass out as UCLA does foul again.

I would be. I would be a fan of like

and the drinking and the hookah and no, people are

still gonna be mad because Luca's come to the Lakers.
Lakers may not lose again. Right, He's figured things out.
You have a really good team, right, they have a
really good team. When Ad gets back, watch how good
this team is with Ad and Kyrie. This is a
team that can do some damage. But you have to wait.
I know it sucks. I know you hate getting made
fun of and you hate being the butt of jokes,

but you have to just wait on this and where
things are gonna turn, you're gonna say, hey, but still
believe in us. But now Kyrie Irving is out. Was
helped off the floor after suffering a left knee sprain
against the Kings late in the first quarter. He got hurt.
Mavericks wind up losing one two ninety eight. Boy, all
the good, feel, all the good things they could have
had going forward with Ad and Kyrie Irving. Now you

wonder how things are even gonna go for them the
rest of the way, because with a sprain knee from
Kyrie Irving, you're already thinking, well, with Ad out, what
kind of year are we gonna have the rest of
the way. You wonder how when you're gonna see Kyrie
Irving again? The guy's thirty two, a knee sprain, Do
you really want to bring him back? Do you really
think you're gonna go through the Western Conference with Ad
dinged up and and a less than hundred percent Kyrie Irving?

Or is this where you know what we got to
put it away for next year? Because next year, after
we've had time to gel and figure out what other
parts we want to get, We're not spending three and
a million on Luca, so we can go spend more
money in the offseason. Dallas can make themselves a good team.

we really going to see him again? We're really going
to see Kyrie Irving? Are we're not going to see

not gonna be right now. The fans are gonna be mad.

You gotta give them time to be mad. You gotta
give basketball analysts time to make fun of you because
you did trade a twenty five year old superstar. And
watch the Lakers. There now an NBA title challenger, right.
They may not have a lot of difficulty the rest
of the season. Regularly, I told you they were gonna
finish second when they got Luca, and it looks like
they're gonna finish second in the Western Conference. You have
to understand that. Just let it go. Don't try to

play this game with Luca and all kinds of hey,
he was doing this, he wasn't doing this. Just understand
it's gonna be tough, and you have to wait and
bite your tongue and wait for better days ahead in
the offseason. If that means you got to go on vacation,

you got several teams who have so grossly underperformed that

He's a he's a number three receiver. Is he gonna
stay on the field. Is he gonna be able to
wind up contributing like you think he's going to, Like

you're gone. But is he suddenly gonna find the fountain
of youth and be motivated or is he gonna say, Okay,

I'm out and I'm not gonna get paid again, and
this is kind of what you're gonna get. I'm not
as enthused over the top about Deebo Samuel as a
lot of other people.

Well, INCENTIVI I's final year of his contract and watching
it had plenty of cap space, so that allows them
to absorb this pretty easy for San Francisco, as you say,
they've got a lot of free agents and guys that
need to look at and clearly we try to examine it. Right,

excuses for performance or lack therap, particularly this last year. Right,
there's no denying the three year decline as a guy
who was used a lot more as a running back
than perhaps he should be. Right, when you want to
go to a gadget, it's kind of situation and get
