Speaker 1 (00:54):
A quick update from college basketball. We told you last
hour on FS one. You con absolutely needs this game
if they want to sort of cement that they're even
gonna get into the NCAA tournament. Yes, coming off of
back to back titles. Yeah, not the greatest resume, fourth
in the Big East. They need this win over Marquette.
They lead right now by a point with just under

(01:16):
a minute to go. We'll have more on this game
coming up in a few minutes. But boy, you kon
losing this one. Things get dicey.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Now get spicy, and then you start saying, I'm the
greatest coach there is. How do you have an NCAA
tournament without me?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oh, Danny, it works for behon for thirty years.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Danny Hurley would say, anybody who votes against me, I
will kick their ass right after this press conference, right now,
you come, you get to my face, you tell me
why you're not taking my team for the NCAA tournament.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
As long as you say, hey, I'm gonna send my guys.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
After it's like, ah, they lost, you know, nine ten times,
I'm good.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
What are they gonna do to me?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
But so we'll have more basketball coming up, but a
big day in the NFL. We have the Joey Bosa
story will get back into coming up in a few minutes.
The Chargers moving on from him, and now they have
like almost one hundred million dollars in money to say
this offseason. But two stories that are just so much fun.
And the first one here, I know Frostburg's gonna hate this.
But earlier today the Raiders made Max Crosby the highest

(02:17):
paid non quarterback.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
In the NFL. Right, And and this was a deal
where we wondered, is this gonna happen? Are the Chargers
really gonna pay him? They really gonna pay Max Crozy boy? Yeah,
over the top man.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Hey, three years, one hundred and six million dollar contract
again officially the highest paid non quarterback in NFL history.
Ninety one million dollars of it is guaranteed. So that
means he's with the Raiders now through the twenty twenty
nine season. So here's the thing, and this is what's
really great, is that so the Raiders are bringing back

(02:53):
their most high profile and their best player, Tom Brady
is in there now helping to run things, running the
football side of things. Pete Carroll is in He's a
guy that stops the backsliding and he's all all all
you have to do is show up and the cachet
and the belief. All right, hey, we're turning things around.
We told you last night. They're gonna get a quarterback

(03:13):
this offseason, probably gonna end up being either Sam Darnold
or Aaron Rodgers because Brady needs a win because clearly
he's o for He was over too. He didn't get
Matthew Stafford. He didn't get Ben Johnson. He needs a win.
They'll probably overpay or over promise to get one of
those two guys. I'm sure it's another quarterback in the
draft as well. But the main thing about the about

(03:36):
the Raiders is now I feel like they're gonna be
fun again because the Raiders the Raiders. It's better when
the Raid. The NFL is always better when certain teams
are good. If they're not good, at least they're fun,
right like and and with the Steelers that you know,
they don't need to be good, they need to be fun.
The Cowboys need to be fun. The Raiders haven't even
been fun. They've been a laughing stock.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
For so long. And not that you know, not not.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
That that's not fun, but you know, it's good when
the Raiders, Hey, at least you feel like they have
a pulse, they have a chance. It's the big names
to come root for it, and not just how are
they trying to make it work with Aidan O'Connell and
Gardner Minshew and Antonio Pierce, Like really, what are they
trying to do here? Your best player didn't want to
play for you, get rid of DeVonta Adams midway part
of the season. Like the Raiders now, I feel like,
at least they're going to be fun again, fun to

(04:19):
root against, fun to root for, fun to see their
games and not just think, Okay, here's a rollover game
for the Chiefs and the Chargers of the Broncos. Like
they're going to be fun again, and that's good for
the NFL. I'm excited that the Raiders are going to
be fun again.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Well, good first step right where you bring Crosby back where.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
There was some concern that he was going to be
out of town right, that he was getting frustrated with
the direction of things. But giving a guy the highest
non quarterback money ninety one million dollars guaranteed, that can
get you a lot of time, Oh maybe only a
couple of minutes at the craps table, depending on how
your luck is on a given day. But you know,
they all you like, I'm gonna get Brady. As to

(04:57):
other two wins, I mean, there's there's Pete Carroll and
then is.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Spy tech should be a sound effect. Every time we
say spy tech tape, we say it's spy tech like
something like that's.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
Some kind of SMI technology fond or Chineseman or something.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Yeah, yeah, I gotta dig that.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Yeah we can work with that, or you just go
to the classics with inspector gadget. But all of that
to say that, yeah, offensively, I mean, you've got Boers,
that's great.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Jacoby Myers was great.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
You've got a couple of pieces on your offensive line
that are really good. It's just the question of the
quarterback situation. You laid it out beautifully because you had
Aaron Rodgers. He goes, can I bring my friend back?
Or has he been ostracized? There's been a lot of
turnover here does he did he get along with you?

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Mister Davis? Do you know who this is? And first
of all, do you know who this is?

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I mean because the look, the check's a rubber stamp, right,
it's incorporated. You're thinking, it's not like he's sitting there
with a giant ledger, like he's hanging out right now,
checks from back in the day now doing that.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
That's like the rock. That's like Dwayne Johnson's line from Jumanji.
Don't say who's mean, don't say who's making?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (06:08):
It's that kind of thing. It's like you'd probably be
very happy to have him back.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
And to your point, yeah, you're gonna take a quarterback
day two because whoever the guy coming in, unless you
decide you're going all in and you're pushing a giant
pile of money in front of Sam Donald because you're
not getting him at one and the bonus or anything.
If he's coming in as your guy, you're gonna have
to deal him a pretty hefty amount of money to

(06:33):
do so. Because there are teams still looking at their
quarterback situation right now and going, let's see.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
The cap went up by how much we would like
our guy or do we not?

Speaker 6 (06:42):
Right? So?

Speaker 4 (06:44):
And that's you know, is the four games against the
Rams and Lions enough to dissuade you from wanting in
on Sam Donald or not? But for Aaron Rodgers, you
know you're bringing in a guy who's a two or
three year guy. This is not the conversation we have
with the we're on welcome aboard for everybody else's one

(07:04):
year guy, you know what I mean. It's not that
three to five year arc that could go long, right,
It's one year and maybe if he plays really well
and leads you to someplace great. Then you come to
agreement and say, all right, it's another one year. Hey, rook,
you gotta wait another year. But that means everything's gone right.
Brian Dable and Shane and Shane's kids. Shane's kids proud

(07:25):
of him because right now he's at the ConA shame
on after the loss of Barkley and everything that went on.
Although he's a hero because of what he wanted to
do in the draft and all. But all that to say, yeah,
I mean, Rogers is a one year guy. If you
go and find Kirk Cousins, you're on the hook for
the rest of his money. You don't want that. You
don't want to do that for multiple years. Because he's

(07:45):
also a guy that's now showing he'll he'll turn on
you when everything goes wrong.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I'm taking everybody down with you. So there's fun story
number one. Right, The Raiders are gonna be fun again,
and that's.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Really quick for the NFL.

Speaker 7 (07:58):
Yeah, I Gohad Frostburg, What what makes you think anything
has changed? Because last time I checked, Max Crosby was
already still on the roster.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Oh, I'm not saying they're gonna They're gonna be great.
But they have big names and changed. Well.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Well, Tom Brady came in to own the team to
help Max Crosby stage.

Speaker 7 (08:17):
Tom Brady was there last year.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Pete Carroll's a pretty good head coach, right, no matter what.
So he brings gravitas. They're gonna get a quarterback. They're
gonna be more fun.

Speaker 7 (08:25):
People are celebrating the Max Cosby extension, like they signed
him in creation.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Well, I know he had a couple of years left
on the deal.

Speaker 7 (08:34):
They five years and they.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Hey, yeah, but dude, how many things do the Raiders
fans have to celebrate Just the.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Most positive thing for this squad outside of Brock Bowers.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Yeah, you got to Jacks.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah, I gotta get I gotta give Raider fans five
minutes here, you know, I gotta give them.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Five weeks to be excited. Hey, sure again, they're gonna
be fun again.

Speaker 7 (08:54):
Give them five Give them their five minutes when they
actually do something, which will be never.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
They just the guy that they could have left wanted
to stay and signed a big deal.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
I think that's I think that's actually.

Speaker 7 (09:05):
We celebrated this signing with Max Crosby today because they're
going to continue to stink with him.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Now they're just paying them more money to.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Say they gave they gave him every bit of that
increase in the salary cap.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
That's for damn sure. All right, So yeah, look, I thought, like,
I know, you just hate the charge.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
I hate the Raiders. It's okay, I understand, I know,
story call it well, but it's great for him.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
I mean it's cheating and Raiders stories, so he's fun.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Meanwhile, what is also? I mean, this is just as
fun because it's absolutely on brand.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
What today?

Speaker 1 (09:38):
There is no better Cowboys start like what illustrates the
Dallas Cowboys of twenty twenty five. Jasy, Can you tell
me what's different about the Cowboys in the last thirty is?

Speaker 3 (09:46):
I'll tell you.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Today the Cowboys announce we're reworking Dak Prescott's contract. Right,
We're gonna save thirty six million dollars off the salary camp.
WHOA really, Yes, they're converting so much was money into
a signing bonus. So now they've saved thirty six million
dollars off of their salary cap. And right away, Cowboys players,

(10:10):
Cowboys fans are excited. Okay, hey, now we got so
much more money to spend in free agency and on
the heels of this and I don't mean like at death,
like this story breaks, and then like eight minutes later,
Jerry Jones announces that just because we saved the money
doesn't mean it's going anywhere but in my pocket. Take

(10:33):
a listen to Jerry Jones explain how just because we
save this money off the salary cap doesn't mean we're
gonna spend it.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
I'm not looking at free agency as a place to
fill voids. You don't have any voids, not if you
include what might work for us in the draft and
what we're doing with our own roster relative to who
we want to sign.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Oh, Jerry, it's not Netflix, man, Your mic is hot.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
I mean they go, well, he freed up fifty six
million dollars between CD and Oh Dax.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
I mean you got that going.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I'm not looking at free aid to phill voids. But
you have a lot of voids. Not if you see
what we're gonna do with the draft. Uh, Jerry, definition
of free agency is.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
That's free agency is to phill voids.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Jerry, I mean really, I mean the fans and the
players didn't get five minutes to it to just just
even daydream about Oh, now we'll spend some money. We
didn't spend money last off seat. No no, no, no, no,
no doesn't mean doesn't mean we're gonna spend this money,
not looking to phill voids in free agency?

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Like what this is peak Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
I mean when I saw this, I laughed out loud
because it looked like an Onion story. Oh Jerry Jones
saves money promising to not spend it. Like that's kind
of what.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
This headline is. I mean, what like it ran they
up the salary cap.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
So he's winning all over, And you wonder why Cowboys
fans are, why their fan base has had it, and
why many Cowboy fans I know are ditching their support
for the team.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
They're just done.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
They're they're just as and the team and the stars
on the team have to be done with it too.
So wait, we're we're we're doing Deck's contract, but we're
not gonna spend the money. We're wait wait what what.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
What do you mean?

Speaker 1 (12:11):
We're knocking to sputh. We have a lot of holes here.
We we didn't make the playoffs. Let yes, Dak was hurt,
but we got a lot of holes to fill here. Now,
we're not gonna do it in free agency when it's
what's meant to fill holes. I don't I don't quite
understand what that means.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
I think I have an answer that means he's gonna
keep Micah Parsons. And for Frostburg's logic, we have to
have the same excitement for the Cowboys move if they
do retain him, because he's gonna.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Keep doing his podcast and give it us fodder.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Look, and I'm still gonna stink, so so I'll.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Let you know.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
What I'm gonna do is take all this savings and
spread it around amongst players that are already getting paid
a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
So that's that's what I'm gonna do.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Really so uh and by that I mean players like
that could be you could be on the team or
you could be Steven so well that it doesn't matter,
Like that's where all this money's gonna go. Don't worry
about I'll find it a good home. I'm a big businessman,
been doing this for a long time. Like that is
the I can't believe you put this optic out there that, yes,
here it is, we're gonna save all this money. Nope,

(13:15):
doesn't mean we're gonna spend it. I'm not gonna fill
needs in free agency. Like, even the reporters we're like, wait,
what do you mean, You're not gonna.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
That's what the whole bleeping thing exists for. It's the
it's the line from Swingers.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
That's why they put the instant replay in the game,
so you can use the replay.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
That's why. That's why this exists.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
So if you're not good, you can get better by
being smart and signing. But and you need more money
to get better in the off scene and to sign
better players.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Right.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
I'm not saying you always have to give a guy
bloated money in a bloated contract, but you need money
to get players, right. You want to find the right
guys to get you. You need holes to fill. That's
what free agees for. You're gonna fill all the holes
in the draft out after you get out of the first round.
Guys in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh round are gonna
fill draft like this is I really this is. The
Cowboys have just fallen off a cliff, and they continue

(14:01):
to show you that they're not gonna hit rock bottom.
They're gonna continue to spin their wheels in the mud
for however long they're going to because Jerry Jones is
just he's in a new level of what the hell
is he doing? Before it was what the hell is
Jerry Jones doing? Right now it's what the hell is
Jerry Jones doing? Like you're you're at the new level
of that for him.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
You sounded like Seinfeld.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
I would just say this, if I were doing a
Dallas radio show, Jason, I'd be encouraging all of my listeners,
the millions and millions and the millions. Here, h You'd
be sending all the trading cards of guys you want
them to sign one a day, and then I'd go
shawshank to a day. Here's all the Nick chubbs I
can possibly find and send with their way.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Here's the next guy. So yeah, it's strange times.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
I was just hoping he would say at the end, Hey, guys,
I'm just kidding, not just the I want to do
keep the pressure off a Nico Harrison for a day
and give him a little bit to just kind of
take a breath and have a coffee. But that's what
we're gonna spend money. Don't worry about it, guys, Don't worry. Yeah,
I mean that's I mean, really, that's the only way
that makes sense. Unbelievable exit out about a Fresca exit
swollen dome. The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon live

(15:07):
from the tireraq dot Com Studios. We're reworkedex contract, freed
up thirty six million, but we're not gonna spend it.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
That is peak cowboys.

Speaker 1 (15:16):

(17:25):
happening to man?

Speaker 6 (17:25):
How are you? I'm sure what's going on today? You
have whate what's going on today?

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Oh? There says so much good stuff, man, I mean
of all the.

Speaker 6 (17:38):
All the big yeah, I mean the Cowboys are ready
for Bear. So that's that's all good.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
No, that's the best one.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Like the Cowboys, and that the fact that they announced
we're we're saving thirty six million dollars a salary cap.
We've redone Dak's deal in tandem with Jerry Jones saying
doesn't mean we're going to spend it like that's peak
Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Like that's that's that's my favorite thing of the day. Man.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
Oh, it doesn't mean we're gonna spend the money. So ah,
just when you zig, I'm gonna zag.

Speaker 6 (18:07):
Just so you know, we we we feel very confident
in our ability to work to draft and feel every
hole that we had on this team last year, and
then just to increase our defense suspecialty. I've got some
new hype dep steroid cowboy b Okay, secondary know where

(18:30):
you're rolling at. Okay, double the buzz doublez.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
I really, I mean, Mike and I said a few
minutes ago, it's okay.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Jerry Jones says, not going to necessarily use that money
to fill voids on the roster when that's exactly what
free agency exists for, for you to fill voids on
the phone.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
No, No, that's all. That's all the mirage. That's that's
not that's what free agency is about. That's not what
we spend money. We don't do it that way.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
That's what they exactly what they would expect us to do.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
I ag that everybody sends Nick Chubb cards in the
mail to a T and E stadium one after another.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
After it's so great. It's so great to I mean,
it's just the way that he works it and the
fans keep buying it like That's the thing that really
just amazes me. Cowboys fans keep buying tickets. They just

(19:32):
they keep they just go like when are you guys
gonna like, oh no, no, we want to be there
when he like finally, you know, changes his ways. Why
would he change his ways?

Speaker 3 (19:46):
It's been thirty years, Like.

Speaker 6 (19:50):
Why like, why would he spend money? Now? Why why
would he do it? Yeah, we went out and got
we let go of McCarthy so that we can get
Schottenheimer and now we trust in Brian's ability to turn
this all around.

Speaker 8 (20:12):
It's all the time if you.

Speaker 6 (20:17):
My question is, well, Shttenheimmer did be doing the Jason
Garrett clap on the sideline for like the next four
or five years. Yeah, well yeah, even after you know,
Dak throws a pick six to change a game and
then there's Jason Garrett there clapping on the sideline. Is
that what Shottenheimmer is going to do now? That is

(20:37):
that what's going to happen? I just want to know.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Well, on the plus side, though, j Cole he can
act and kind of do whatever he wants because of
what's happening with the Mavericks. So I don't think Jerry
does kind of get into a vacuum at this point.

Speaker 6 (20:53):
How about that, Niko Harris, how about that? He's a
fine last I love the work he's doing over there.
He's really helping us out. That he's done such a
fine job of taking pressure off the Cowboys. It is
a fantastic I thing to watch that at work, It
really is.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
I just wanted to take the pressure.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
He's had a bad last few weeks, so I wanted
to take the pressure off him by saying, hey, don't
forget we're the real team you want to make fun of.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
So at least I gave him a day off of that.
Then get back at it tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
You got you guys can own the NBA season. I'll
catch up with the free agency. We don't spend any money.
We'll we'll be we'll we'll help you out problem. You
can get help. Sorry, no, no, go ahead, please, this
had petered out anyways, It's okay.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
I wanted to see it come to it to natural conclusion.
But you know, since we're talking about taking pressure away.
Joey Bosa released by the Chargers, how soon is dk
metcalf announced? But at release, he finds his way to
the Chargers via via trade here.

Speaker 6 (22:07):
You know, I'm curious about this of do you think
Harball wants a lot of guys who have opinions that
are not his? Because I remember Jimmy Jimmy Johnson was
really big on that when he went into Dallas and
he cleared out, Now it was a bad team to
begin with. He went to Dallas and he cleared out everybody,

(22:28):
and then he went to Miami and he cleared out
a bunch of guys. Parcels was like that too, And
I get a little feeling that Harbaugh's the guy of Okay,
we got this quarterback, but I want guys to buy
into my way of doing things. And I don't know
that Dk Metcalf fits that. Bill. I mean, look, they
need a receiver. And you know, like the first question

(22:50):
this morning on another show, I was honest, well what
about Davonte Adams and the Chargers. I just get the
same feeling of you don't want to is Harbaugh gonna
want to hey a guy who he doesn't know whether
that guy buys into everything that he wants to do.
And I get the feeling that Harbor is stubborn enough

(23:10):
to say I want guys to do it my way.
And I want to build my culture my way, and
I would be surprised if they went. I mean, you know,
they need a receiver. But unless it's a guy who's
going to do it their way, you know, or is
you know, willing to come in on a contract where
he has sort of let go of control of of

(23:33):
who who's really in charge here. I don't know that
Harbad does that. I'd be really kind of surprised with that.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Yeah, but they have all this money.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
I mean, if he want to do that and keep
bringing guys like Hassan Haskins, you know, I mean, Okay,
that's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
I mean he went last year.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
He brought in Gus Edward brought in a couple of
running backs, probably because his brothers.

Speaker 6 (23:53):
Those are like those are those are guys. They come
in at your price, and they come in and having
done your way. They also were guys who had played
for his brother, so you knew that those guys understood
what the system was, what the expectation was.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Got it here, Mark Andrews is going to be Mark
Andrews will be a Charger. Got it Okay, Mark Andrews
to the Chargers, Got it well?

Speaker 6 (24:18):
I mean again, it's it's this is a philosophy that
certain guys have is I don't want guys who I
can't tell them what to do because I've got to
pay him, or they have opinions from other places. I mean,
it's a famous Jimmy Johnson quote. I don't want guys
with a lot of opinions. That's just how he acted.

(24:38):
And I know that you know that goes against what
fans think, but that's part of it. You want guys
who are like, yes, sir, no, sir, I'll do it
your way. I'll follow your guidelines. And that's the way
it's going to be. So I just think Jim harbuz
that kind of guy.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
All right.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
So for Bosa going out, I mean I kind of
looked at him. He's kind of in that late career
JJ Watt part where I said if he plays over
I put the over under it fifteen NFL games, as
he played over fifteen games the rest of his career
and he just can't stay on the field. Or do
you do you think there could be another destination for him?

Speaker 6 (25:18):
Well, I mean is going to be. I mean what
the mom already wants it to happen, and they'll take
him on the chief and they were interested before, so
that makes a lot of sense that he would go there. Yeah,
he can say he can save money by living with Nick,
So you got that.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
That's probably Yeah.

Speaker 6 (25:41):
Did you imagine that is a reality show? That would
be awesome? The Bosa's in the Bay Area, by the.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Bay Oh yeah, yeah, Oh, patting bad idea. Right now,
TLC is going to have that by tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
Okay, Carl star Kiss, that's what we're going to do.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Get the tune to fish to eat the mayonnaise. Got it?
This is Chuck reminding Bill to shut up, to shut up,
to shut up.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
All right, Well to that end as we talk about
that reality shows, you know the thirty third Team now
runs North Carolina.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
So is your.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Association with our show the thing that killed Belichick's hard knocks?

Speaker 6 (26:21):
I love everything Belchi, I love Belicheck. I love everything
about Belichick. You guys know that he finally returned my
email about I had some questions on a book project
I'm working. It only took him like three months, but
he got back to me. He's been busy, I admit,
you know, he's been a little caught up with things.

(26:43):
So I finally got that. I'm working on the questions
to send back to him right now. So yeah, but yeah,
he's on retainer basically thirteen.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
All right, good, So that book will come out when
twenty forty forty five is when you look at that,
by the time all the back and forth is.

Speaker 6 (26:58):
Done on this book. Yeah, gone, I think twenty fifty
might be.

Speaker 7 (27:08):
Wow, it'll come out before you buy him his next sandwich.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
No, no, no wayburg top rope. Look at this.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Hey, we weren't. I wasn't the person to h I
should say I weren't because we were.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
We were the people invited him to come and hang
out with us, and you decided to blow us off
last time you're in l A great, thanks, appreciate that.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
Well, you know, I had things to do.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
We had a sandwich for you. I still have a sandwich.
It's still there. It's still in the refrigerator.

Speaker 6 (27:40):
Well, the same sandwich. Yeah. I sort of believe that.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
It's a radio studio lasting that long's a quarterback.

Speaker 6 (27:50):
Next year, tell me, tell me who the Jets quarterback
is going to be.

Speaker 8 (27:54):
Kyle McCord. Mind blown, Kyle McCord. See McQueen, the director,
the deceas stature.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
Steve McQueen, Oh my goodness, Peter, Peter Brock, he had
a strong arm.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Deater Brock. Come on, number five, Dieter Brock.

Speaker 6 (28:20):
Come on, I thought that was he five?

Speaker 5 (28:23):
Or was he?

Speaker 6 (28:24):
Who was the twenty one? Was John Hadel? Yeah, yeah, Brock,
John Hadel. John Hale had my great hold on the
Woodies thing.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Wait wait, hold and Adrian Brodie, hold on, hold on
to what he's around, hold off on what he's around
there just for a second.

Speaker 6 (28:40):
John Handle had this great story. He was big quarterback
guys for Dan Reeves and Dan Reeves in Denver. This
is what Elways quarterback when he was a rookie. They
they put together this really complicated offense. It's the it's
the old Tom Landry offense from from Dallas, which was
all goofy number right. And John hadl was quarterback coach.

(29:04):
And I always like, man, I don't know how to
work this thing, you know, like the numberings on backwards?
What do I do? John? And Hadel goes to him.
I don't understand it either. I got your back up, kid,
don't worry about it. Wow, Reeves calls you out. I'll

(29:26):
take the blame. Don't worry about it, kid. I love
John Love John Hadel.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. That is
at Jason Cole sixty two thirty third Team.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
What he's round up? Jay Cole is always buddy appreciated
that we'll talk to you next week. Look how happy
he is. Look how happy. That's what I got you.
If Reeves gets mad, don't worry about it. Do worry
about it. That's pretty good.

Speaker 7 (29:54):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (29:57):

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Yes, well, because I feel bad you lost all that
money betting on the Wizards tonight.

Speaker 9 (30:38):
Don't get me started. I also was just in Vegas
and I definitely lost money at the at the blackjack table.
But it's okay.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Wait, you told me when you were going to Vegas
for a wedding and instead you went to the blackjack table.

Speaker 9 (30:48):
No, I did both. I did both.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Wedding in the casino, was at the Palms, so you know.

Speaker 9 (30:55):
I literally left the wedding and sat at a blackjack table.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
Wow, you and you were the matron of honor, the
maid of honor.

Speaker 9 (31:02):
I was not, thankfully, I've done that several times. I
was not in the There was no bride'smaids know nothing
that was. It was just the bride and the groom,
and the mom was the maid of honor, and the
dad of the groom was the best man.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
And that I met you said like, oh, I've done
that plenty of times, Like I've been named the maid
of honor, but instead.

Speaker 9 (31:20):
Of one, Oh god, no, I've just I've been the
maid of honor. Been there, done that. I was very
glad to just be a guest at the sweating, but yeah, something,
I lost money at the blackjack table and it was great.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
It was great.

Speaker 9 (31:32):
It was amazing at such a good time entertainment. It
was worth it. The Clippers are not losing, so guys
doing great over here. After losing a twenty three point
lead yesterday against the Suns, being tied at halftime against
the Pistons is a pretty good feeling right now. Clippers
Pistons tied at fifty seven after three quarters. In Memphis,
the Grizzlies are losing to the thunder in ninety one

(31:54):
to seventy eight. She Gildas Alexander thirty two points so
far in that one. The Kings were up on the
nug It's most of the game and then Denver turned
it on in the fourth quarter, outscoring Sacramento thirty two
to seventeen. They win it one sixteen to one ten.
The Cavaliers have one twelve in a row, outscoring the
Heat one twelve to one oh seven. Caves were the
first team to clinch a playoff spot, and the Celtics,

(32:17):
even though they didn't have Jason Tatum, Drew Holiday or
Chris stops Porzingis, they still beat the Trailblazers one twenty
eight to one eighteen off the bench Peyton Pritchard. Forty
three points, including ten threes, were made in that game. Now,
in men's college hoops, Yukon ended up beating number twenty
Marquet seventy two to sixty six, Ole miss with a
seventy eight to seventy six upset over number four Tennessee,

(32:40):
and Oklahoma topped number fifteen Missouri ninety six to eighty four.
On the ice, it is all Golden Knights against the
Maple Leaves. They are shutting them out four zero halfway
through the second period. Alex Soovechkan scored in the Capitals
three to two win over the Rangers. He is now
ten goals away from breaking Win Gretzky's all time scoring record.

(33:01):
And in the NFL, lots of news that happened today.
The latest is of the Chargers have released five time
Pro Bowl pass rusher Joey Bosa, who was drafted by
the San Diego Chargers in twenty sixteen. The Raiders signed
Max Crosby to a three year, one hundred and six
point five million dollars deal. His average annual salary of
thirty five and a half million makes in the highest

(33:21):
paid non quarterback in NFL history. The Seahawks gave wide
receiver DK Metcalf permission to seek a trade. They also
released wide receiver Tyler Lockett after ten seasons, and the
Jaguars released wide receiver Christian Kirk.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Back to you, guys, thanks a bunch, Monsie.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
It ain't easy to be in shaudor Sanders, I'll tell
you that much everybody's doing it, honey, a.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Lot of people are doing it. Everybody's doing it. Not
easy to be in shaudor Sanders. The last couple of days,
Jason Smith Mike Harmon live from the tirect dot Com
studios here at Fox Sports Radio. It has been bad
public relations, bad image of Shador Sanders. A couple of

(34:50):
reports coming out of the combine from different people that
teams didn't like the way he presented himself. He was
too arrogant, he was disinterested at Tom Jordan Schultz, NFL
Insider friend of the show, especially if you hang out
on the Starbucks. He said, what he thinks upset a
lot of people with Shador Sanders is him coming in

(35:11):
saying I'm going to transform programs. Everywhere I've been, I've
done it, whether it was my first stop at Jackson
State or Colorado, and that might have turned tuned some
people out and it's kind of stupid, honestly, but this
is something that really you can still be who you

(35:35):
are in interviews and at the same time not piss
people off, right like that. That's kind of where I'm at.
Like Shador Sanders, his whole his whole thing is this
is who I am right. Everything you've heard from him before,
this is who I am. I'm very brash, I'm outspoken,
and you want that a leader in your quarterback, right,
you want that. But when you come out with that

(35:56):
out of the gate and people and teams that don't
know you, you run the risk of upsetting them.

Speaker 6 (36:01):
Right.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
It's like, because you're interviewing for a job, if you're
Shador Sanders, right, and it's not like one.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Of these teams has to take you.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
These teams that at the combine are saying, well, let's see,
so there's we have about twelve guys on our list
that we really really like. And if we get a
bad vibe from you, guess what, You're off our list.
And suddenly then you find yourself falling through the draft.
It doesn't mean it's fair, doesn't mean it's absolutely one accurate,
But you gotta understand you're you're on a job interview

(36:30):
and the and and you're gonna talk to people that
don't know you at all. So if you come across
with brashness and and and swag, hey, some teams they
may love that, right. Other teams that don't know you
may go, yeah, I don't know about that, and it
may be a team that you want them to like you, right,
I mean, and the defense is always but this is
who I am.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Okay, all right, I get that. I understand that.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
But if you think you can still be who you
are and not put anybody off on the other side, right,
I look at it like this, if you were at
a bar, right, say, say, young Mike Harmon is having
a fun Friday night and he's out at a bar.
He's doing karaoke, He's done a couple of Black Sabbath songs.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
I'm feeling really good, and there's a.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
Really attractive girl across the bar that you want to
go over and meet and go, and you're you're looking
over at her, and she's kind of looking at you.
Do you walk over and say, I transform programs, I'm
a big superstar, I'm this, I'm that. No, she's gonna go,
I don't know who you are? WHOA coming on a
little too strong? Okay, you know what I'm gonna go? Hey,

(37:32):
can can you leave?

Speaker 5 (37:33):
No?

Speaker 3 (37:33):
You gotta go. Okay.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
I want to be able to talk to her. I
want to win her over. I want to be able
to talk to her. I maybe want to take her
out on a date. I want to get her phone number.
This is what I want. So you don't come out
let you know everything is this is who I am,
and I am unapologetic. Yeah, there's time for that, there's
time to do that. You can still be that guy,
but you have to understand that there's there's different ways

(37:55):
and different ways you can present yourself without it getting
to a point where hey, I'm put off by it. Now,
this doesn't make it right, right, but this is the
world you live in when you're going to the draft
and anybody that needs to interview for a job, Hey, okay,
maybe I don't go in one hundred percent what I'm at.
And you know, there's some kind of truth of this
with Shador Sanders, because this is what we've gotten from

(38:17):
a few different people now, not just hey, here's a
couple of off the radar instances where maybe because he
was unplugged for an interview, he didn't really feel like
talking to that team anyway, which you understand, but it
seems like it's a little bit more.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
More popular than just hey, a one off here.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
So look, I would say I'm giving my pr advice
because you know, that's what I would do for a living.
If I wasn't doing this, I would say, hey, yeah,
still be yourself, but understand, these people don't know you,
and you want them to get to know you because
you're going to have a relationship with them for the
next four or five years of your career. Your life
as a football player is going to come down to
how you are perceived and how you deal with and

(38:56):
work with this team. Who knows what team is going
to want end up taking you? So don't you put
your best foot forward. Don't you put the best version
of yourself out there at all times. I get the swagger,
I get the need to show that this is who
I'm confident, this is what you can still do that,
but you can still understand that. Okay, these people don't
know you, so I need them to get to know

(39:17):
me a little bit first, because that's how That's how
you do it, whether you're at a bar or a
job interview.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
Yeah, I'd be curious to see the number in which
teams are involved in this, right, the average age of
everybody in there, and and how they approach things, right,
because so much of it is you're gonna come in
and be deferential to a fault, like I want the
guy who's gonna be who he's going to be. Like me,
I'm walking across that bar, I'm in purple shorts. I

(39:43):
don't need to say a damn thing, right.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
She would say, Oh wait, protect me. This guy's coming
over and talk.

Speaker 6 (39:48):
To me.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
Right now.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
I'm thinking a lot of people are gonna be out.
I'm thinking, as put it to a theoretical test, you know,
I don't think that's gonna win for you just right.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
I mean, who are the people that are that were
upset with it and didn't like his attitude? Who which
teams did they represent? How old are they? Who they
coached in the past, Like, I got a lot of
questions that sounded like my guy Bill Plashki there for
a second as he goes to make a grander point
of just trying to to ascertain how much of this

(40:27):
is on shadure, how much of this is we're gonna
bad mouth him?

Speaker 3 (40:30):
Hope he drops right. I mean, there's so much in
the silly season.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
I liked you all along. I liked you all along.
I just wanted to make sure, Hey, I just killed
your image.

Speaker 4 (40:40):
So we can put you But you know, it's all
anonymous lowercase sources, so nobody knows it was me.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
The thing with the guy in the place, just I'd
be real. It's more. It seems more popular than just
a one off.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
And that's why you know, we bring it up to
talk about it, because it's not just hey, this one team,
because every quote I've met with so many teams, you're
not drafting me.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Why am I even here? Like I get Jason, but
seems like it's more than that. Might also be people
who have long standing beef with this old man, you
beef beef.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Coming up next, we get back into the big breaking
NFL story of the night, what it means going forward,
