is the way tire buying should be. Well to day
after what he got? Our final fours? What are the
five twelve upsets? Who do we have? Who's gonna win
it all? Saint John's what do we think? What do
you think? Saint John. Excuse me what however, Uh, just
to not to find a reason to start with the Knicks, okay,
(01:12):
not to find her. I know they are thumping the
heat right now.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
No, you start with the Knicks, whether there's a recent no, no, no,
no no.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Look, this was a close game, and the Knicks decided, Okay,
even without Jalen Brunson, we are better. Uh, and they're
beating the heat right now the couple minutes left to
go one twelve to eighty nine. However, a crazy moment
in this game earlier where Tracy Morgan UH TV and
film star had to be wheeled out of the game
in a wheelchair. That's how bad the Knicks are. It
(01:39):
was all come on, stop and the dudes had health
problems for like a decade. Man, he's had some he's
had some real problems. Man, he's he's and he he was,
he was.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
He's often in the front row of Madison Square guard.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
He threw up on the floor and he was escorted
out in a wheelchair with a bloody nose. And you
could see it looks like the Knicks. One of the
Knicks towel boys is telling Scott Foster, who was officiating
this game is probably why why the Knicks are up
by twenty. He's telling Scott Foster, we don't have a MOP.
Like I'm trying to read it. It looks like you're saying,
we don't have a mop, Like, how are we gonna
clean this this this up? We don't have the court
(02:10):
se see Oh my god, yeah, like what are we
gonna do? Like, who's gonna go do that?
Speaker 3 (02:14):
No, he got wheeled out like it was Paul Pierce.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Oh yeah, did he come back? And then I don't know.
I think we're still we're still waiting for an update
on Tracy.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Okay, So it's not like Paul Pierce.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
No, it's it's not it's not this was an actual illness.
Uh well, Paul Pierce had an illness too. It was
just a stomach illness. It was just you know, I
you know, ooh boy, like mistiming my temporary misstiming my
pregame coffee kind of thing, is what happened. Oh hey,
you know, nope, gotta go, gotta go, Nope, gotta go.
Uh So I hope he's okay. I mean everybody's wondering
what's going on right now? I mean when he left.
(02:45):
I mean, it was just I'm like, okay, that's kind
of weird. And you hear the guy's talking about it. It
looks like it's a trade thirty rocks. Tracy Morgan is
throwing up on that. You're thinking, is this this sounds
like a sketch from thirty Rock when it happened? Oh,
trace every when you got sick of the next game
like that, and it's something with him and and Alec Baldwin.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
In case it's the kind of thing Tracy Morgan himself
would comment.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. So, I mean I hope he's okay,
hope we find out. I mean, Frostburg's going to hell
already for trying to make that joke like that. I mean,
it's gonna happen for you. So, but this next game
is going to end with the Knicks victory and.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
The Miami Heat wondering how many in a row do
we have to lose before we get Cooper flag?
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Ye? Just keep it it too late, Just keep going,
just keep going, Just keep just keep going.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
That's all They're dribbling out the clock in New York.
So this will be eight straight losses for Miami. Unfortunately,
only twenty nine and thirty nine.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Now see. And that's the thing is that the NBA,
like fifty five has always been my magic number of
the right amount of games to play in a season
because for a couple of reasons, fifty five is great.
And I've said this for years, because fifty five is
where you can start, have the regular, have the normal season,
and you can start on Christmas Day. Right, you can
(03:54):
play fifty five games, start the season on Christmas Day,
and boy, that's a huge deal, right, start Christmas Day
and go all the way.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Through when the NBA owned Christmas Day, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Well, okay, and if the NFL is playing, you can
start Christmas Eve, Okay, you can do that. Or the
day you can play on Boxing Day? All right, you
need to buy because that's a twenty six right Boxing Day,
we can play that.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Yes, it's boxing stuff from Christmas.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Or if Honkkah is after Christmas, you can start on
day one of Honkah. Take a holiday and we'll start. Yeah.
But the second biggest thing is that fifty You get
to fifty five, and that's when you know we're past
the trade deadline. And this is where teams are either
in full tank mode or they understand that where things
just aren't going to get better, nothing really changes with
(04:36):
the standings after fifty five games. In fact, it's teams
like the Heat, Okay, yeah, we traded away Jimmy Butler.
We're done, We're done, and we're just gonna go. We're's
gonna lose games.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
A losing streak that literally they've never had and this
coach has been there forever.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Yeah, yeah, we're doing it because we know we know
we're done, we know the season's done, we know we're
not going anywhere, we know we're starting over. So yeah,
all these games that happened when when you're a when
you're a team of contending team hope, and you're playing
a team that's looking the next year, and half the
league is doing that the last you know, twenty five
twenty seven games of the year. That's kind of nice
that you get. You get these long ass losing streaks
(05:10):
or teams winning fifteen in a row again because you're
playing teams that have absolutely given up. The Cavaliers aren't
any better now than they were early in the year,
but two fifteen game winning streaks while the second fifteen
game winning street you're playing teams that are just yeah,
we're finished. We're not even gonna We're gonna we'll put
four guys on the floor. Maybe we'll do the whole
gen hack. We're gonna honor Gene Hackman by putting four
on the floor and finishing a game that way. My
(05:31):
team's on the floor. Guy. Yeah, that's how you get
So it's good, but that you could always have done it.
You could always get down fifty five games. That's a
perfect number for the NBA.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Honestly, when you at the start of this paragraph said
I think fifty five is in magic. I thought you
were talking about like Wizard's losses or the Hornets, and
that's how you know that's a bad team. I really
thought that's where you were going. Actually, those two teams
are gonna be topping fifty five losses this year.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Is there a uh? Is there is there some sort
of magic number for Cooper Flag like that I don't
want to go, but is there a number where we
actually clinch getting him?
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Like?
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Is that that? Because I want to call and tell
and tell Duke not to play him in the tournament,
Like he's our guy. Now you're done. You had him
for a year. Everything is great, it's down to our guy.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Now, four teams will have the chance at the worst record.
Four teams are currently still under twenty wins here and
we're only a month left in the regular season. So
I mentioned two of them in the East, and Utah
which lost again last night, and New Orleans which is
about to lose again. They in the West. So it's
those four if you if you can call it battling,
(06:34):
it's those for battling it out. And I think instead
of looking at how many losses at this point, we
really say how few wins is it going to take
to get the top pick in the draft in June,
because some of these teams are sitting on fifteen eighteen
right now, twenty one wins in other words, say three
four more victories max in the next three four weeks.
(06:56):
Will that do it?
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Listen, let me know when getting dangerously close to that number. Okay,
just let just let me know, let me know we're
getting there.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
We'll sit everybody, will take the fine, We'll play less
than eight players.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Suit it up.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Who cares.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Cuban's done that before, so yeah, why not?
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Right?
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Another four?
Speaker 3 (07:13):
So out the Cuban national team, Mark Cuban, I've done
that before.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
So again, good thoughts to Tracy Morgan, because normally if
you hear, hey, somebody throws up court side during a
game on Saint Patrick's Day, you think, oh, I know
exactly what happened there, So hopefully you know, you know
everything is well.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Throwing up court side at a next game used to
be commonplace. Now this is an actual good team.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Welling on SAT. My dad always says, Saint Patrick's Day,
you want on Saint Patrick's Date? Dad, No, why, it's
that's amateur hour. Saint Patrick's Day and New Year's Eve
says amateur hour. I don't go out those days. I
don't want to be in the door, be on the road,
don't want to be out anywhere. I stay home. It's
amateur hour. Those I'm like, oh, not a bad bit
of advice. I started thinking back to my old Saint
Patrick's days and I'm like, yeah, okay, I can kind
of kind of go although now for the last and
(07:55):
this is this is a big day. Actually, I didn't
know if I was going to talk about this or not,
but this is my wife and I's thirty year anniversary
of our first date. Our first date was March seventeenth,
nineteen ninety five renovation thirty years today. How many hats
did you give her?
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (08:10):
So many hats, so many hats, A Florida hat, A
Bronco Remember she told me I really liked the Broncos log.
I bought her like two Broncos hats, like, yeah, here,
I brought two Broncos hats for you. Oh yeah, yeah
it worked, yeah, oh it worked, it worked. Thirty years.
We went to Poncho's in in Southington, Connecticut, and we
had we had dinner, and we went to them And
did you go to the movies after? I think we
(08:32):
went to see Legends of the Fall if I'm not
mistake one. That's about dated with Legends of the Fall.
Uh and Brad Pitt, Craig Scheffer, Julia Ormond, Anthony Hopkins
definitely dead. Yes, yeah. And I walked away going, wow,
So she she had sex with like all three guys
in that movie, Like she hooked up with everybody in
that movie. That was your conclusion.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Okay, it was this gorgeous fill the wilds of Montana,
And that's your conclusion. Like a soap opera, you know,
absolutely it is, like.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
That's what it was like, I think she hooked up
with everybody in that movie. I mean, it's not what
the movie was. And that move was it was you know,
it was a.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
I'm not gonna mention World War One because this is
the this is your show of records for spoiler alerts,
and I don't want to contribute that.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
So, h what do you got for us? But you
got something on Tracy Morgan. Yeah, he's actually addressing the media.
Now we should probably go live to this. Oh yeah,
let's go, let's hear it. Go ahead, come on. I
really thought you would have something from thirty one participating
in this Sally the Knicks played. Well, you went to
(09:40):
see the Knicks. You have killed the man he stops
to Frouzburg. What are you doing? What do you do?
Am I doing?
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Do it?
Speaker 1 (09:46):
This is there could be something to kill Carl. Yeah,
well that actually did happen. Yeah, yeah, and Austin Austin's
Fernie and Jenkins did complete the catch. He did complete the.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Game, or may not have taken out one of the
greatest comedians of all time.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
I all best thoughts to Tracy Morgan. Three. I really
thought we're getting something.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
But it's all of those things happening at the same
time with an ill person in public. Don't you expect
like Dustin Hoffman to come swooping in on the military
helicopter and clearing out the town.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Oh that's outbreak, right, that was outbro Oh yeah, yeah, okay,
okay eyber Russo or yeah yeah, yeah, yeah that was
where the uh that was back when the big run
of movies and the the disaster the world disaster movies. Yeah,
that was Armageddon.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Came on cable again, you know, like five years ago,
where hey, there's an actual close up here in the
movie of people catching droplets in the dark movie theater
and everybody's leaving sick.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
We thought at the time, that'll never happen. What don't
we it's a movie. It's Hollywood.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
No, no, you know, you know we should that'd be
pretty That would have been great if they actually did
a movie like you know, and they sometimes I'll have
the d box chairs where you sit and it like
rumbles and you can you can get oh yeah, a
lot of the special theater seats a movie like this,
like where there's a big taging out like when someone
said that was another movie when tag when someone sneezes
on screen to get it. Then you get that like.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
That is your case.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
No, that actually happened.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Universal in the Shrek ride where the seats, you know,
rumble and jumble when they're going through both, and then
when someone sneezes, Yes, there's a mist that comes to the.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Sun and like it's someone like when a zombie bite
somebody else, you feel like this, like little pinprick on
your arm. Oh what just happened there? Oh my god,
I got to get a get of it again it Yeah,
make people.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
In the that's right, it's one step above smell a vision.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Make people think, Oh, I'm actually I'm actually going through
it right now. Okay, that's great. I got out and
I don't know what I need.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
As long as you're only going through it for two
hours and you can leave health.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Oh yeah, yeah, sure, sure, Oh yeah, yeah, I'm walking
out here at the end, right, I paid for this.
I don't know. Matt Damon's Matt Damon's the only one
walking out of this movie? Is this another spoiler alert?
Speaker 4 (11:47):
No?
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Oh, come on, We've been out a long time now.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Well you could say that about every movie. I'm not
asking you to give away the ending of Psycho either
not everybody. You've seen every every movie, okay.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Okay, contagent if you if you ever wanted to see
a movie where a lot of a listers just fall
by the wayside, like that's contained again, well that's that happened.
But it's a movie about a big global pandemic and
and a lot of I mean, it's like, I mean, doesn't.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Mean any of the stars immediately necessarily.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
You know, you got he's gotta be some kind of
accountabil you know, it's got something. I mean, I gotta say,
like in the beginner, maybe.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Jimmy Kimmel was executive producer, and so David. But where's
the scene when I can kill off Kimmel's character. Where's
that scene? I'm gonna come. He's not in the movie. No,
we're putting him in just so we can do that. Yeah,
but we have Gwyneth Paltrow. No, no, no, no, we
have Kate Winsley. No, no, no, where's Kimmel. I'm gonna
kill Kimel in every scene. It's like killing Kenny in
South Park. We're gonna kill him in every He's gonna
(12:41):
be a different guy in every single scene.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
That's how it's gonna go uh so well from we
got more from Tracy Moore. Wait talking again, he's got
more from Tracy Morgan. Go ahead, exit, how about a fresca?
Speaker 3 (12:59):
You know, it's dinner time. Somewhere in the world.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
It is it is it, and uh hopefully not not
for you with this.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
See, I was gonna tell you coming up shortly, it's
dinner time for the Cubs and Dodgers as they get ready.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
I was at Yeah, I was actually going to tell
a story of time about what one time when I
had to as a as a sophomore, sophomore sophomore, Yes,
I was forced to clean up the men's room on
my floor.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Uh we're talking college there.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, because I got sick after
a Friday Saturday night. And normally like that what happen
and you would call and someday come up and clean
and the uh well, you know what, Okay, I'll tell
the story real quick now. So I got sick coming
back from happy hour or something and a friend and
I got sick, and I got sick in the bathroom
and normally when it would happen, you would call, they
would come and do it. But apparently there was such
a rash of it happening that the person whose job
(13:47):
was said I'm not doing it, and and and the
person have put a note on the on the on
the door to the bathroom that said, hey, stone or brains.
I still remember, hey, stone or brains, clean up your
own mess. Not my job to do it. And I
was like, oh, man, so of course nobody knew, and
nobody knew it was me. I could tell the story
now nobody knew it was me, And like nobody wanted
to use that bathrooms. You went and it smelled terribly,
(14:08):
and I'm going, I don't know what to do. So
the next day, like twenty four hours later, it was
still awful. Everybody on the floor was talking about it,
and I just said, I'll go in and do it.
So I go, and I take a couple of T
shirts and I clean it up and I throw the
stuff away.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
And one of those pine scented felt Christmas trees you
put in the car.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
It was it was awful, like it was terrible, and
I did the stupidest thing. I'm like, well, I'm gonna wash.
I should have just thrown the T shirts away, but
I threw one in the watching machines and tried to
watch it, and of course that overloaded the watching machine.
The watching machine had to be fixed. But I cleaned
up the bathroom. Right, So here's the thing. Because nobody
knew it was me, they all thought I was a hero. Hey,
thanks for going into clear bytes. I said, oh, you know,
(14:45):
that does happen in life.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Sometimes I had to do Yeah, create the problem, fixed
the problem. Considered hero for the problem.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
I looked like I was like, hey, thanks, Hey, that
was really nice. You man, Yeah, no, probably, yeah, want
to you know, somebody had to do it, so you know,
why not me? Why not?
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Mean?
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Nobody knew it was me? Was and that look like
a hero. And then then I ruined the washing machine.
So there's that exit. How about a Fresco exit swollen dome?

in the books, and we're still waiting on Aaron Rodgers
and Russell Wilson who are the big winners. Over the
weekend we saw some big signings happen. Nobody better to
talk to then longtime NFL inside of check them out
on Odyssey Washington Post one oh five seven The Fan
in Baltimore on Twitter at Jason Lockin for it is
Jason locking for what's happening?
Speaker 4 (17:37):
Man, I'm not even sure how much these teams are waiting.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
All right? Do you say, are we gonna like, are
Rogers and Wilson gonna sign before August first?
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Like?
Speaker 1 (17:46):
I just want to make sure that's gonna happen, and
that'll happen.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
I think, so okay, I probably okay, at least to
one of them. At least one of.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Them, you know, the whole thing with Rogers, right, And
this is where I can't wait. I really want rod
to go to the Vikings just so I can laugh
at Vikings fans that got all mad at me last week.
If this is the team he's waiting for, you're really
telling me the Vikings decided we're gonna just let Sam
Donald walk because we love JJ McCarthy, But oh no,
(18:14):
we're gonna bring in Aaron Rodgers to start this year
instead of JJ McCarthy, Like, and what world does that
make sense?
Speaker 4 (18:21):
No? I mean it doesn't. It doesn't, especially when you
know they could have transitioned Donald and probably just got
to wait with it that way, when you really looked
at what Seattle did. Excuse me, I mean, that's kind
of what they did, and so I don't know that
somebody's putting together an offer sheet if Minnesota just puts
(18:43):
a transition tag on Sam Donald, which is what some
other general managers thought they would do. But like, I
don't like there's this narrative out there that like these
this guy's walking the beach, you know, like hung through
and everybody's just waiting on him. I mean nine, like
(19:04):
nine of every ten people are going to get that reference.
But whatever, David Kenedy, I just don't think that's necessarily
what the scenario is. I think these teams have made
it clear where their price points are, and there's not
any like there's no mystery here, and he's either going
to take it or he's or he's not, or maybe
they come up with something a little more creative and
(19:25):
see if these teams are interested. But I don't really,
you know, I don't think it's oh, he's holding everything up,
people just waiting to hear from you. Now. I mean,
I think he's got to decide, I guess if he
wants to play, but what's out there? But there's nothing
precluding these teams from yank can get off the table
or just going in another direction. So you know, Jameis
(19:45):
Winston's still out there. There's still the potential specter of
a cousin's trade. I don't care about the contractual stuff there.
You don't want to have him there unhappy with the
young quarterback who needs to play, and sometimes you got
to eat some money in or or to make you
a more football trade to get more in return. So
I don't think these teams are sitting there like, oh
(20:07):
my god, it's Aaron. You know it's Aaron Rodgers or bust.
If any of these teams really wanted him, he'd be
in Pittsburgh, or he'd be in with the Giants, or
he'd be with Minnesota. I mean, if somebody was really
courting him and wouling him, I don't think he will.
Maybe he'd still appeal on the beach or being the
jung Lull or whatever, but he'd be doing it with
(20:28):
an NFL contract at that time.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Jason keeping the theme of Aaron Rodgers, I personally am
in the dark about the Bengals signings. Congratulations quarterback, two
star wide receivers signed.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
They missed the playoffs by a game with them.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Your thoughts on the offense and how they've shaped things
in Cincinnati.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
Well, I do get a little kick out of people
applauding them for doing this. They could have did this
to you, you know, Higgins that to year three and
Face that to year three and gotten them both much cheaper,
and then wouldn't have to be doing it all at
once and wouldn't have to be blowing up this much
of their cap. They could have done it before, you know,
or at least comparrently with Higgins in terms of the
(21:10):
Joe Burrow deal, like they could have staggered things and
structured things differently. So, I mean, it's great that Mike
Brown's spending money, but they you know, don't tell how
many games last year they scored twenty eight points a
more and lost anyway, And they haven't drafted that well.
And to think that they're going to fix their defense
(21:30):
all three levels of it in the draft, I think
is a bit naive. And I don't think Trey Henderson's
going to fit into this thing. And they're going to
need draft picks. I mean, they're going to need additional
draft capital because of the lack of talent, the lack
of difference makers on the defensive side of the ball,
(21:51):
and like, I mean, they're in a conference that's loaded
with either exceptional offensive head coaches or generation quarterbacks or
in some cases both with So you got to the
dirty little secret about the year they went to the
super Bowl, they had the best second half defense in
(22:13):
the NFL. Go look what lou Ana Rumo was doing
from halftime on against the lead offenses. He was shutting
them down. That was really sort of the catapult for them.
I don't think they're anywhere near a below average defense,
let alone a league average one. So it's it's going
(22:33):
to be interesting, but thirty five points is not necessarily
going to be enough for them depending on the opponent.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
See, I look at it this way, Joe. I felt
like this was Joe Burrow flexing and making sure, Hey,
you got to keep me happy if you want me
to stay in a couple of years because.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
Than two years ago. I mean, I'm but he like
he's got always plans. Just listened to him and he said,
like I wasn't even knocking him, Like, hey, this guy,
we could restructure this. We can move this paragraph five around.
I mean he's given like he's going on podcast and
given detail, you know, explanations, of what they're all season
could entail. The problem is you probably should have started
putting a sheet on more before last year.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Jason Locking forward with us, Jason Smith, Steve de Saga,
Fox Sports Radio. All right, so we go to the
other big signing of this weekend and Cooper Cup goes
to the Seahawks, and I, okay, I get that he
was gonna end up somewhere good. I didn't think he
was going to get that kind of money. And I'm
kind of scratching my head Jay, because I go, Okay,
So the Seahawks, they got rid of Gino Smith, they
(23:38):
brought in Sam Dunk Okay, great U. But they get
rid of DK Metcalf. Okay, now they're bringing in Cooper Cup. Like,
are they going for it? Are they not? Are they
just rearranging a living room furniture here? Like the s
I'm trying to get what they're doing and let's just
just hey, do something even if it's wrong. Like that's
kind of what I get the Seahawks. You're trying to do.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Quarterback saying, you know, look, they've done a good job
drafting a lot of receivers. Now this is not a
generational A lot of receiver draft by any stretch of
the imagination, but you know, there may be some guys
they right there. I have concerns about how much Cooper
cup has left in the tank. I do understand how
(24:22):
he would fit the offense that they're trying to put together,
and he can help teach it to other people and
all that. I mean, I stin't think they're the second
best team in that division, and I think they will
have a chance to get in the playoffs if Mike
McDonald can meet his part of the assignment, which is
(24:43):
rats at that defense up another level or so and
get you know, get them playing with a little more bite,
get them turning people over a little bit more, you know,
ramp up the pass rush because that's this side of
the ball, and that's you know why he got that
job as early in his career as he did. And
(25:06):
if those things happened, you know, I don't I don't
think the offense is going to have to be generational
to at least make the postseason. And what I still
think is an inferior conference.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Got to ask about the Ravens. Therefore, we have the
Baltimore guy on the air, the most recent in the
backup quarterback signing. But this is still such a good team,
is it not. What's it going to take to punch through?
Speaker 4 (25:31):
They could use another pass rusher, Like I'm surprised that
they're not taking flyers on somebody like a Jizo July
for four million dollars, or you know, maybe they didn't
get in on you know, not getting in on somebody
like foul or like I mean to think Kyle van
Noy is going to do what he's done again. Dafay
(25:52):
always an edge defender. I don't really think of him
as a pass rusher, a natural pass rusher. He's never
really morphed into that. He'll get some sacks, usually in
bunches against really inferior tackles. I think if you look
at their defense in the playoffs, it has not produced
turning like Lamar Jackson's never played in games, whereas defense
produced turnovers for him. Whereas defense has you know, produced
(26:14):
more sacks than the Ravens have given up. Like they've
just been sort of tepid and a little bit buffish
at times, and that's part of a cutting edge that
they've lacked. But I mean, I love the Cooper rush
Booth getting Ronnie Stanley back at the price point they
got him back at as huge, But I do wonder
about do they have dudes like they've got scheme and
(26:37):
Chuck Pagano will help with that, but I just don't
know if they've got dudes who you know, up front
win games for you. They got to get mat of
b back in top for him, but like you know,
he doesn't really have a running mate. It wouldn't shock
me if they brought Kalays Campbell back. And I just
don't think they have individuals on the edge who make
(26:58):
you worry about chipping them board doing something extra to
defend them.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
He's on Twitter at Jason locking for that is at
Jason lock and for As always check him out on
Odyssey Washington Post one oh five seven the fan in Baltimore.
Jay is always by. They appreciated man. We'll talk to
you next week. I have a great one.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
Always my pleasure. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
If you feel like going a home is out of reach,
Rocket is here to give you back the keys because
they believe everyone deserves a shot at the American Dream.
Oh the dream. Visit Rocket dot com or call eight
hundred four Rocket. That's eight hundred four Rocket. You know,
it's funny Steve the Bengals like, you know, you can
pay one receiver that kind of money, it's really tough
to be if two guys.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
This is a salary cap league steal. Even though the
Cats keeps going up.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
I mean, who's the last team that did Oh the Jets. Oh,
and how did they do?
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Let's see all it really did work. But I feel
like this was it really was. This was Burrow. This
was done to appease him because the Bengals know he's
the best shot. We haven't winning anything ever. Burrow is
just that good, and yes, you got to keep him healthy,
but now you see, you got to keep them happy.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Right.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
He's one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL,
no no doubt. And overall what he does he makes
everybody better. Is he is just that good. But you
got to keep him happy. And you've heard in the
last couple of years, Hey, we should do this, we
should do this, And what have you seen with the Bengals.
Now It's almost like he's had a Caitlin Clark like
effect on the Bengals, where all of a sudden, Kaitlyn
Clark shows up in the WNBA and it's oh, hey,
(28:23):
guess what. Oh, she's taking commercial flight next week. No
more commercial flights, right, everybody. Everybody's flying charter. Now. This
is for all the teams. Oh look at the money
that is now we're making television revenue. It's in the
billions of dollars. Now, all this stuff Kaitlyn Clark's done
for the WNBA, it's like what Joe Burrow's done for
the Bengals. Oh, we don't have a we don't have
our own practice facility. Hey, we're got our own practice facility. Ay,
(28:44):
we need to keep stars. Hey, we're gonna keep the Star.
It's like cause he's had that out. Hey a couple
of years. When his contract is up, there'll be thirty two,
and he's one of those guys that I can easily
see him saying, dude, I bought the batmobile. Man, I
don't care what to do. I'll make more money at
some point. Yeah, I will hit free agents at thirty
two and go somewhere and make three hundred million dollars.
So like, I feel like this is what it's done.
(29:05):
This is not a reflection on Brown or Chase or Higgins,
who should be thanking Joe Burrow. But this is him
exercising his and flexing his muscles that you want to
make sure you keep me happy. So I'm a quarterback
here path other two years from now, and so I
can be the court until I'm thirty six, thirty seven.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
But the bat signal spotlight in the sky should have
been for offensive linemen. Congratulations, you have two star receivers back.
But Joe Burrow. My first reaction while some people were saying, hey,
they're getting paid great, and my first reaction is, oh,
so Joe Burrow is gonna get sacked fifty times.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
This season still, but I can sell it. That's where
it could be an offensive coordinator. He lines up in
the gun and a lot of quick slants. Quickly becomes
Tom Brady just quick slants like you know, you know,
I mean, not like unlike the Bears last year at
the end where I think where I think that Caleb
Williams was getting hit before he got the ball, like
as long as you get that snapped up. But he
can throw that slant really quick, right, really great, No
one's going to get in on him. You throw that slant.
(30:00):
Just throw a slight every single please.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
He was about a five hundred quarterback with the Bengals
last couple of years, despite his talent, despite his stats,
because I felt like I was watching the Brandon Stay
Chargers all over again, where if Justin Herbert didn't score
thirty points, they weren't winning. And that was the Bengals season.
Last year they missed the playoffs by one game.

he likes to take photos of himself doing yoga on
the beach with his wife. It's Steve Disager, you know.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
You know that last part. There are so many jokes
to come back with, but I will move on to
the NBA scoreboard because we are going overtime at Houston.
The Rockets have won sixth straight. They are tied with
Philadelphia one thirty one to one thirty one. You may
have heard today that Paul George of Philly is officially
out for the year after injections in his ductor and knee.
(31:12):
Philadelphia's Tyrese Maxi is out again tonight with finger and
back injuries, missing an eight straight game. So Quentin Grimes
has forty points as we head toward the OT at
Minnesota five seconds left. That game is tied Timberwolves even
at one seventeen with the Pacers, who are missing Tyrese Halliburton.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Tonight out with a sore back.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Anthony Edwards of Minnesota with thirty points. He was named
Player of the Week in the West today the Bulls
Kobe White won Player of the Week in the East,
and the Bulls are leading seventy four to sixty eight
at Utah with four minutes left in the third. The
Utah Jazz have lost nine games in a row. And
then we've got the late games, and there are plenty
of them underway, including Denver leading at Golden State twenty
(31:54):
four twenty two with under a minute a half to
go in the first quarter. Denver's Nicola jokicch out with
an elbow injury, Jamal Murray out with an ankle injury.
The late game just getting underway. It's the Lakers hosting
San Antonio. Jaylen Brown of the Celtics is out Tuesday
with backspasms. NHL Tampa Bay at two, Nhing winner at
home against Philadelphia Buffalo in overtime. One at Boston three
(32:17):
to two, Twins. Third baseman royce Lewis will miss opening
day with a strained hamstring. Paul Skeens had the Pirates
win today at spring training in a four to two
victory over Minnesota's. He had seven strikeouts in four and
two third innings. Rory McElroy won the players in a playoff,
easily beating JJ spawn and you mentioned the Caitlin Clark effect.
(32:38):
As we head toward the start of the men's and
women's NCAA basketball tournaments this week, the women's teams will

its conference about one point two million dollars now over

the next three years. In financial performance rewards back to you.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
R J.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Lewis, Cadery Richmond, gonna where them light suit every night.
So yeah, I know. I let the cat of the
bag on this Steve to Sagrea about a month and
a half ago. But I said, listen, they're the best
team in the country, are they? Uh? They have everything
(35:13):
you need to navigate March. You have one of the
top three defenses in the Hall College basketball. You have
the big eiast player of the year in r. J. Lewis.
You have two incredibly talented guards. Candarry Richmond is fantastic,
dave On Smith as long as he's healthy.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
If you're talking about Saint John's, I'm not sure about
that top three defense, but I'm telling now you look there,
he's got a defense.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
Tennessee Houston's got a defense. No, Well, who plays defense. Well,
you'll see my official Final four picks. You see where
the defensive efficiencies are. But Saint John's is number two
in the country and offensively, they got every they they
have the strong guard play to navigate March. Candary Richmond's
a triple double threat. Now I miss him at Syracuse.
Can't believe they let him leave. But anyway, Uh, Lewis
(35:53):
is great. Oh we gotta score it. Lewis is the guy,
like this team has everything you need and a guy
that's navigated March many times before. This could be his
fourth team in the Final four, right, this is it's
something that's really unprecedented. You can like or hate Rick Patino,
and I'm with you on that.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Coaches didn't used to bounce around quite like this.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
No, no, no, but overall, like you know, look, Saint
John's the team I grew up, I grew up watched
I haven't been this good in forty years. And you know,
for them to be a two seed is kind of
a slap in the face. So for me to be
a little worried that boy, they've been so good for
so long, been kind of a machine here they are not,
I think getting that two seeds a little bit of
a slow. We're really we're a two seed right when
the big East. Oh we're a two seed. Okay, that's cool.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
You sound like the women's coach.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
We'll say, well, well that everybody on the women's side
of the bracket. But we'll get to that next hour.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
By the way, slap in the face. Duke is not
the number one overall seed. No, no, I look, I know,
I know they're being punished for their conference.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
I don't know. But if I think if they knew,
if you knew the health of Cooper Flag, I think
you probably would be the number one overall.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
So the committee is not believing Duke when they purposely
made a point to tell the committee he's playing I'm
playing Okay, that's great. Our star is going to be there.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Did he play the rest of how much money do
you have on Duke? Like this seems a bobby like
did you bet on Duke? Like no, No, I'm just.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
Saying as a news guy when you see, Hey, the
final polls are out and Auburn slips to number four
in the country, but they are the number one overall
seed of the four to one seeds.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
But that's your championship game, Saint John's and Duke, that
is my official champion. That's what we're going to see.
We're going to see an incredible Monday night Cooper flag Rick, Patino,
white suits. They'll be playing scenes from Italian restaurant. Oh,
it's gonna be ftat.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
And not a single game in the Eastern time zone
for them if they're gonna make that run because technically,
and you know, if you know the pod system, technically
they're in the West region. So yeah, that means the
regionals are going to be in the Bay Area in
San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
But okay, but you know they got the Providence games.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
But I need to say this again out loud more clearly,
just because you're in the East region, doesn't mean you
play all the games in the Eastern time zone. So
like the coaches they put in those Providence games this week,
Blake Patino, who used to coach at Providence, Okay, there's
your Eastern time zone I'm talking about. It's a it's
an East region or West region in name only. It
(38:15):
just helps us sort the teams, that's all.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
Yeah, I mean, because it's not it's not where the game.
It's just this is where the region is, right and
by the way, yeah, everybody gets it. Everbody understands all.
You're in the West region, you're going to be traveling.
You're in the East region, doesn't mean you're playing. Hey
we're playing at seven thirty. No, no, no, you're not playing.
You know you're not playing that.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
Well, how about Auburn, which is I say again the
number one overall seed, and they might have to be
playing Louisville in the second round this week, and the
Louisville games this week are in Lexington Rifle, Kentucky's arena.
Louisville of course not terribly far from Lexington. So I
want to see an Auburn Louisville matchup this coming weekend.
(38:57):
With the one seed overall as a road team, that's possible.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
See and and I think what you're gonna see is,
because it's that kind of year, all of Rick Patino's
former teams are going to win as well. So Louisville's
gonna make it through Kentucky's Can you imagine that that
that's your final four? You got, yeah, Patino and then
you have Kentucky, Louisville, and Duke, Like like, that's what
the final four? It's all it's all Patino. It's an
all Patino final four.
Speaker 3 (39:23):
Duke, Well, Duke's gonna get there.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Yeah, I mean, I think there's there's nobody else in
that region though that I can, I can, I can
link to him, though my internet's a little slow here,
Steve Jason, What what time is the Syracuse game? It's
not Syracuse play. Syracuse plays at ninver o'clock. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
you'll find it.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Are they going to be in the Crown? Uh No?
I mean if we were five hundred, weed to made it,
but I mean we can't. I mean, we were that bad.
You need to hang a banner that says that we
have hanging back next time we finish over five hundreds.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
You see Irvine is a one seed in the n I.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
T Yeah, and you saw Irving's a great, a pretty
good school.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
They were a game behind. You see Sandy for the
Big West. Do you see San Diego which made the
NCAA Tournament the first year it was eligible. There men's
and women's teams did that had never happened before in
first year of eligibility in your athletic department.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Now, I mean, look, it's it's gonna be a really
fun tournament because I think many people just have no
idea how it's gonna play out with a lot of
teams because the parody is really there this year. That's right.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
Even the CBI tournament, when you get that army game
opening against Elon.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
I have no clue how that's gonna go. Well, Elon's
just gonna lay off everybody an army and that's how
they're gonna win. They're gonna win everything that cuts. We're
gonna right before the game, they lay everybody off. You're fired.
You only get to play the game if you answer
an email about what you did last weekend.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
Please televise that game and tell me that fans are
going and going with signs. That's gonna write itself.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
But I'll give you Saint John's Duke, Michigan State, and Tennessee.
There's my final four. Shout out to Peter the Anteater.
Sure not, it's gonna be fine. Hey, you see you're
fining be great.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Nic starts this week as well.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
Uh, and so does the CBI, and so did.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
He starts this weekend. But that college basketball crown that's
late March.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
Why you shouldn't be upset nor surprised at the NSA
selection process. That's next Fox.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
Tuesdayven outing seven hours and Wednesday morning, Tuesday Morning, Fox
TV Wednesday FS one and the games count.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
Yeah, I mean this is I mean, we did it
last year. I like to think the Dodgers saying, okay,
as long as we don't have the uh, the opening
weekend we had last year, because this was when we
found out about epey betting all kinds of money. Like
remember the video we saw in the dugout, like right
before the game was epay and and and and and
and oh just about they were all like like Epe
(41:45):
and Otani, you're laughing and okay, and then like right
after oh hey, uh hey, big scandal here. Epe apparently
has been taking money from Otani and uh and gambling.
Wait a minute, wait a minute, like this was the
back to this was it was a year ago, this
exact series where this happened.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
That was actually gonna be some thought the story for
the first three months of the season, and then Otani
turned out to be so good baseball was the story
for the season for him and the Dutch.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
That really and I don't know if it's because it
broke when when the teams were were in Japan and
there was a bit of a dissociation or South Korea,
sorry South Korea, but like there was, but it was
such a it was such a way where this happened,
and right away you saw reports that Otani had no
idea what was happening. This was money cut and now
whether that was, hey, we got to make sure people
(42:33):
know Otani's got nothing to do with this. But that
sort of tamped it down, and something that could have
been a wildfire type story that just like instead turns
into a yeah after a couple of weeks, Yeah, that
story's over and we're onto the season. We're moving on.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
Even when there was an actual court date for the
guy much later. Yeah, it really didn't move the needle.
Speaker 1 (42:52):
Like we got to the playoffs and it was, oh, yeah,
that seemed like it was like five years ago, like
that happened. It was I mean, we thought it was
gonna just take off, the story was going to be everywhere,
and instead it was Yeah, it was a story for
a few days, and then we revisited it and then
it was kind of it's kind of over all. Right.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
So did you see any of the exhibitions Cubs or
Dodgers over the weekend? They played two each against Japanese clubs.
I know MLB Network was showing some of them. Shoheo
Tani in his very first game back at the Tokyo
Dome homeward, the Dodgers hit three homers in that third inning.
That was their only scoring inning of the whole game.
They won five to one, and then they didn't score
(43:29):
in any of the innings in the second exhibition against
the han Chin Tigers.
Speaker 1 (43:33):
Maybe the Tigers are the best team in there.
Speaker 3 (43:36):
Because the night before in the same place against the Cubs,
the han Chin Tigers not only had a perfect game
going against the Cubs through five innings, they wound up
with a three hitter in that one, So back to
back shutouts against the two visiting major league teams for them,
very impressive.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
Wasn't that? Wasn't that Cecil Fielders team when he was
out before he came back and started hitting, you know,
fifty home runs a year. Wasn't the Tigers this team
I think.
Speaker 3 (44:00):
As opposed to Detroit Tigers?
Speaker 1 (44:01):
Yeah, exactly, well, yeah, anything named Tigers? He was there.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
By the way, we can update the NBA overtime game
winner from Obie Topping and the Indiana Pacers win at Minnesota.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
Everything's coming up next tonight, right Topping with the game winner?
What Grimes had another? How many? What do you have?
What do you have? Another? Forty?
Speaker 3 (44:19):
Yeah, Philadelphia loss, Everything's coming up next. That other guy
named top in in college basketball?
Speaker 1 (44:26):
Does that count? Sure? Sure, yes, yeah, it's a transit of.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Anybody who's shaking hands with the Topping families. What about
Bernie Topping?
Speaker 1 (44:38):
Oh wow, you know he's a but maybe he's he's
more of a candle in the wind than I think
Oki top. Now, look, there's been a lot of complaining
over the course of the last twenty four hours after
the NCAA selectricuity came out and the field of sixty
four sixty eight was announced. And you know the thing is,
I've never been a field of ninety six. Guy, change
(45:02):
the tournament here. But this is what's going on in
the last twenty four hours. I can't even I can't
even get myself to be that upset about it because
I have just conditioned myself to knowing that the committee
is gonna suck every year. The committee is gonna suck.
And this goes, this goes beyond. Hey, when you're arguing
(45:24):
whether you're the sixty fourth, you know, because you're not
the sixty fourth best team, you're talking about being the
top thirty because all the automatic bids that go to
conferences that clearly many of them don't belong in the tournament, right,
So do not say, oh, it's sixty four. No, it's
different than we're talking about college football, where oh, top four,
top five.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
It's a sixty eight, twelve ten field. So let's say
minus twenty so yeah, top forty or fifty realistically, And I.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
Get that you were talking about, Okay, this is where
you're at, and you can't complain in theory, that's true,
except again my first point, the committee sucks and they've
always sucked. And here's why it's different from from everything
else where. You want to compare to what we saw
in college football this last year. What was it, Oh,
Miami doesn't make it? Well, okay, you could easily say
(46:08):
when you're talking about being the twelfth best team in
the country, win more games, don't lose to Syracuse the
last week of the season.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
A little bit different than that, right, Florida, stay with
the injury of the year before, only a four team plaint.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
You're talking the difference between four and five is a
hell of a lot closer than the difference between you
twelve and thirteen. Like, okay, now you're talking about which
of these two or three loss teams the week let in.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
So they said that North Carolina was the last team
in Yeah, that's a playing game against San Diego State.
They're each eleven seeds on that line.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
But here's why the committee sucks, right, And this is
why it is because every year they put forth whatever
agenda they want, whatever they want to do that year,
they find a way to make the argument work for
these teams. This year, clearly, what did they want to do.
They wanted to put basically everybody from the SEC, and
which is ridiculous. You can't go six and twelve in
(47:00):
conference and go to the nca TO I'm sorry, I
don't care how good your conference is. You can't go
six and twelve and get to the tournament. You get
two teams.
Speaker 3 (47:07):
It's kind of with that, right, the North Carolina argument,
that's coming, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
So and they wanted North Carolina in and they wanted
Texas in. Right, Why do I compare these teams?
Speaker 4 (47:15):
Now?
Speaker 1 (47:15):
I understand the NCAA tournaments a television show. The SEC
is a very popular conference. North Carolina is very popular
on television. Texas very popular. I understand that. But like
they wanted, every year, the committee decides, this is the
narrative we want we put in the teams we want
to put in. How do I know this because every
year it changes what the committee says they value for
(47:38):
a team. Two new metrics I'm going to I'm going
to change because for a long time it's about, oh,
you have to have the net ranking right. But then
some teams don't have great net rankings, but doesn't matter.
They find a way to get in.
Speaker 4 (47:48):
Right.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
The net ranking is a big deal. Quad one wins,
which is where I'm coming to Quad one wins are
a big deal, big deal, big deal, Texas is in
with fifteen losses. With fifteen losses, Texas, and why the
Quad one schedule either way?
Speaker 3 (48:01):
That ties for the most losses by an large team.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
I mean, you can't lose fifteen games and get into
the end. I'm sorry, you can't lose it, but all
the big wins Texas had. Meanwhile, North Carolina gets in
and what's their record in Quad one wins one to twelve.
So how do you say, yes, North Carolina deserves again,
do you feel bad because oh, if they didn't have
the lane violation, maybe they would have beaten Duke on frial.
All that's so sad. I mean the NCA selection committee,
(48:27):
they simply find the argument that works for them and
they say it right. It's like they're like politicians that say, hey,
whatever I said I was going to do, we're not
going to do whatever I say. I'm gonna put a
spin on these numbers, you know, to get it so
I look good as as a result. Meanwhile, I don't
look good, but I'm gonna spin it that way. This
is what the committee does. They decide to take whatever
(48:48):
criteria matters to them in that moment to make it
work for the teams they want to put in. And
that's why it's a load of crap. And I'm and
I've kind of gotten to the acceptance point where I
just know the committee's gonna do this, right, I just
know they're going to do this, and eventually changes are
going to come because teams are going to get upset.
It's not going to happen now, but changes are going
to come eventually because you realize that that that this
(49:11):
is just it's it's a lawless enterprise.
Speaker 4 (49:14):
Right.
Speaker 1 (49:14):
College sports are lawless, top to bottom. College college basketball lawless.
The the committees or the conferences can make whatever rules
they want to, they can go on. It's leaderless. Yeah,
and it's simply going to happen. That will continue to
happen that way until someone says, hey, we've had enough
and we're going to change things.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
It's like it's leaderless everybody. It's there's all this, it's essential.
Speaker 1 (49:38):
It's this.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
WBC is equal to this content, the w b A,
it's equal to that conference. There are all these governing
bodies and there's not a solid hole from the top down.
What you mentioned if It's just like in boxing, there's
all the different levels. We have the NCAA Tournament, we
have the A t we have champions W the WBC, Yeah,
we have the w n e W. I'm sure there's
(49:59):
going to a very nice trophy for the college basketball Crown.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
At the end of the month in Vegas.
Speaker 3 (50:04):
But as far as Texas basketball this season, it used
to be one of the next metrics used by the
committee was how did the team play in the final
weeks of the season. Are they a hot team going
into March Madness?
Speaker 1 (50:16):
And clearly that doesn't matter because lost three out of
four and they forgot what had all seed whatever they
want to do, whatever narrative they want to push, this
is what the committee was like.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
Texas, they had started three four in concert and that
conference they went three and eight the rest of the
time in conference. Yeah, so they get the value of
just belonging to the SEC, but they didn't actually blow
you away in the SEC. And in fact, I repeat,
they lost most of their games for the last month
(50:49):
and a half of the season.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
And nevertheless, and the optic also doesn't work that Hey,
the chairman of the committee, North Carolina's ad Bubba Cunningham,
who was on the committee and North Carolina gets in
and he says, oh, no, I wasn't in the room
when they made the decision. First of all, I love it.
I love the fact the guy's name is Bubba and
he's an eighty. That's great, he's running committee.
Speaker 4 (51:09):
THK.
Speaker 1 (51:09):
You like shrimp, hey, Bubba? Yeah, fried shrimp, shrimp, kebabs,
shrimp in a basket, jumbo shrimp shrimp.
Speaker 4 (51:16):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
And that's about all there is. I think he likes golf.
I like, sure, I'm sure he does. Sure, Bubba Watson, Yeah,
my dad's favorite golfer, Bubba Watson. By Yah. My dad
loves Bubba Watson, loves him, loves him, loves him.
Speaker 3 (51:25):
That's odd.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
But like this, this story is ridiculous because you can
sit here and say, all right, yeah, he was out
of the room, but he's working with the with everybody
else on the committee. You really think they're not gonna
do him as solid and put his team in when
he leaves the room for fifteen Hey, Bubba, this has
been awesome. You bought pizza for us every night for
the last month and a half, and we know you
(51:48):
get a bonus if the team goes to the NCAA
tournament because what he's gonna make, like sixty five grand
or seventy five grand is a bonus because North Carolina
makes into the NCAA tournament. Yeah yeah, Bubba, thanks everything
you've done. Man. Hey, yeah, but you lead the room
for fifth team minutes, and we're going to make sure
that that. Hey, no one's going to get any favoritism.
I mean, come on, of course there's going to be
favoritism the guys working with the committee. Every day fifth
(52:08):
I go to the bathroom for fifteen I come back. Hey,
guess what I mean? We're in the tournament. Okay, that's great.
Bad optics again, it's lawless when people who are who
are from schools are making decisions on this. I'm what
I mean, there's no independence. I've I've punted, I've hit
the acceptance level of you know what. This is just
how the Committee's going to do it until somebody gets
(52:28):
sick enough and foster change, until they piss off the
wrong team or the wrong group of teams, and then
we get real change. Now, it's not going to be
West Virginia. As mad as they are, this is not
gonna be the team that does it. It's gonna have
to be when blue bloods get left out of a
tournet for whatever reason, and that's going to foster change,
because that's what it sounds Aladam and not getting in
the nidday South, Come on, how do you know what South? Howlibut?
(52:51):
I'm in? But like, that's because that's what happens in sports.
When something happens to the Yankees or the Dodgers, rule
changes are made, right when something happens to the Rays.
There's no rule changes made when something happens to the
Patriots or the chief So that yeah, rule changes are made,
but it's not when something happens to the Bills and
Josh Allen, you don't get a first down the MVP
of the NFL. Oh, we have a big change, but
it only happens when it happens to big teams, and
(53:13):
you need heritage teams or teams that are pissed off
enough to stir up a hornet says and say, Okay,
this has to be different. Whether it's gonna be expanding
the tournament to go to ninety six teams, but we
haven't hit that point yet, but eventually we will. And
I just you look, maybe that's me, and I feel
bad that I'm like, oh, I'm accepting what's going on. Yeah,
because I know I have no control, and I know
the committee's gonna do this every single year. They're just
(53:35):
gonna put out whatever agenda they want, and they're gonna
put those teams in the tournament every single year, and
it's gonna be inconsistent from year to year. And now
from team to team. What we like. We like quad
one wins. Oh wait, we don't mind about quad one
wins if you don't, Okay, that's great. Oh we got
to Oh no, no, we don't mind about that. Yeah, Texas,
we like them Northcutt. You know what, let's just let's
just not feel questions about those two teams at the
(53:56):
same time. And that really hurts our argument right here.
Speaker 3 (53:59):
They just need people who aren't current athletic department members
to be on the committee, as they have knife some
guys into through the door for the football committee. So
we need Woes and Dodd and see if Condo Lisa
Rice is free and maybe Barry Alvarez, Oh sure, yeah,
get different basketball.
