(03:21):

So Elijah is back. And before we get started on
the show, I do want to say this. Tomorrow around
this time, will have a huge announcement on The Eye Couple.
Speaker 8 (03:37):
Rob you're retiring.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
I'm not retiring, No, I know that's what everybody's No.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
We'll have a huge announcement about something to look forward
to on the show, So make sure you're tuned in tomorrow.
A little tease, we will lay it out for you.
That is tomorrow right here on The Odd Couple. So
a lot to do a lot. So little Tom, don't
forget our number two, your chance to trash anyone anything
(04:04):
in the world of sports. And we will not push back,
We will not say anything. You have the thirty or
forty seconds all to yourself.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
So there you go. Well, that's dangerous, radio boy, that's
dangerous radio.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
No.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
Yeah, speaking of dangerous, can we get to Jerry Jones
and the Michael Parsons Uh, yeah, let's get to it.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Let's get to it.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
So Jerry Jones spoke about saying that he's going to
come to an agreement, that he's come to an agreement
with Michael Parsons or whatever, but it did not involve
our Parsons agent.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Okay, And so first let's hear Jerry.
Speaker 9 (04:37):
Jones term guarantees, money, all those things. We've had a
meeting other minds.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Why have you not had the same meeting mind with
his agent?
Speaker 8 (04:48):
Well, I don't know that.
Speaker 9 (04:50):
You know, I'm the one who has signed the check
and minus one and has to agree to it. So
that's the straightest way to get there, is the one
in the check. And I want to gree into a
talking and that's the principle that's involved here. And I
understand all the other issues, but as you know, it's
not uncommon for me to negotiate directly with players, and
(05:14):
I've done that, and so we are there. I don't
view it as urgent at all. You know, some say, well,
using the basis that the earlier you get something done,
the cheaper, with earlier you get something done a lot
of times the woman stakes, you may and you might
want to see a few more cards play, not just
(05:35):
with that particular negotiation, but with the whole team.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
And so.
Speaker 9 (05:42):
I know I'm kind of being a little defensive here,
but the idea that the only success is getting a
contract done in an early time is incorrect, and I'd
rather pay more and get.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
It right, all right, Jerry. The price only goes up,
it doesn't go down. So if you can lock somebody
up sooner, it's cheaper. I mean, come on dragging something
and kicking it down the can. And here's the other part.
He pretended like he didn't know the agent's name at all,
which is kind of disrespectful, and of.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Course Michael Parsons didn't.
Speaker 5 (06:22):
He shoot back and said, I'm not signing the deal
without my agent or whatever. Like this whole notion that
he had already agreed to a deal. What do you
make of this? And Jerry Jones, I'll just start with you.
You know it's crazy.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
I don't.
Speaker 7 (06:34):
I don't know, but I do know that he's It's
from what I would gather from it, what it seems
like is he's trying to get a buddy buddy deal.
But that doesn't really make sense. Is Michael Parson's first
big deal, and so he's gonna try to get every
dollar he came. Why would he give a discount to
Dallas Cowboy exactly? So I don't know what the what's
(06:54):
underneath there, what's the what's the motive? Maybe he doesn't
like the agent as well. Maybe the agent did something
early on in his career that, you know, put put
some pressure on Jerry Jones to do some things. So
he's trying to want up him here in this situation
when he can. But outside of that, it doesn't really
make sense in the fact that he's even talking about
it publicly, but publicly, would lend his hand to this
(07:16):
is a slap in the agent's face and done something
to him, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
It does.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
It doesn't really make sense. Do you have that justin
you have that tweet by Michael Parsons. Okay, and uh
let me, let me Michael Parsons said, uh, what is this?
Speaker 3 (07:32):
How do you David.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Believe?
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Well Ghetto Okay, facts.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
David is the best and I will not be doing
any deal without David molt Ghetto involved. Like anyone with
good sense, I hire experts for a reason. There is
no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating
contracts than David. There will be no back doors in
his in this contract. Well, obviously Micah's right. I mean
(08:02):
the idea that Jerry would even make that, Why would
you even do that yet that you don't have a deal,
Why would you say you have basically agreed to everything
or whatever and the agent wasn't involved. It just it
sounds like a mess. Well, you don't have to say that.
All he had to say, I plan on signing Michael Parsons, Well,
whatever we need to do, we want him to be
a Dallas cowboy for the rest of his career, right,
(08:24):
and the.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Story we'll get to that when we get to that.
But do you need to do more than that?
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Yes, personal, yeah, and Jerry has made so many mistakes
with waiting. You remember Dak he could add Dak a
lot cheaper. He waited, kicked the can, kicked the can.
Doc Dak was making sixty million dollars. Yeah, and nobody
believes he's worth that. No, but that's just the where
we are, and you know what I mean, and the
(08:49):
escalating prices and these other quarterbacks who aren't nearly as
accomplished making that kind of money. So you got to
bump him up, and it was put himself in a
bad spot.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
But I I don't know. The Cowboys to me.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
Have so many issues that I don't know if signing
Michael Parsons is really the right decision.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
No, it isn't.
Speaker 7 (09:12):
Michael Parsons, in my opinion my estimation, isn't worth the
money he's about to get. And I say that very
I mean, it's not to take a slide at him.
I just don't the impact players that they have in
that league, the edge rushers, the Hendrickson from Cincinnati, Miles
Garrett in Cleveland, they are They're better than Michael Parsons there.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
They produce better.
Speaker 7 (09:35):
So I'm not I don't want to say he's not
as good as those guys because I can't say that
I haven't seen them all up close in personally, I
know what you mean.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
But he doesn't produce the same way they don't.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
They do.
Speaker 7 (09:44):
And so the fact that he's about to get a
number that's I'm sure it won't be more than miles,
I'm sure, but it's going to be right there with them.
It's crazy in that aspect. Along plus the money that
he's going to get, they're not going to be able
to sign the other guys that they need.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
And there you go, and I'm with you right there,
he's a piece that you can trade and get a
three pieces, right, yes. And and the Dallas Cowboys have
more holes in the golf course, let's just call it.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
And they need pieces like you had, Mica.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Last year, justin look up the scores of their first
three games and the playoff game where they gave up
a forty five piece to Green Bay right at home
in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Year before? Was that last year? It was the year
before they didn't make the playoffs. This year, I thought,
oh yeah, yeah, yeah, right, the year before? You remember that? Right?
Coming into last year? Yes, that that year.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
And then at the start of this season they gave
up like forty or some points. The Lions went down
there kick their butts justin. You got the scores for
those first three or four games. They were giving up
forty points a game.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
It was awful.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
And my point is not that he can't play. We
know he's a star player, defensive player in the NFL.
They just need way more. And if you're gonna give
Dak sixty and then Mike hat this ridiculous amount of money, yeah,
and then now what do you have like to feel.
Speaker 7 (11:09):
The rest of the team. Oh, the cupboards bear right,
plus the team's bear. They need a lot of weapons.
They need a lot of reconstruction on that team. And
it's so crazy how from one year where they're in
the playoffs and they have some you know, pseudo weapons,
to go from that to this pass year that they had.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
It's just it's crazy to me.
Speaker 7 (11:28):
And you're talking about paying the guy all your money
right to please one guy.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Just doesn't really, it doesn't make sense.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
And here we go, all right, So so last year,
what do they give up forty two to the Saint Week.
Speaker 8 (11:37):
Two against the Saints, they gave up forty four. Yep,
forty four, go ahead seven against the Lions, give up
forty seven. And then you think they scored that game, yeah,
the nine points.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
Yeah, I mean they had a rough start. What about
and then what about the first time again.
Speaker 8 (11:52):
Late in the season week seventeen, they gave up forty one.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Yeah, I mean it was really bad last year eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine
six sixty three sixty nine. The Jerry stuff we already know. Yeah,
I mean we're not breaking any new ground on to
be at home exactly and not being the team general manager.
We know he owns the team. He should turn it
(12:17):
over to somebody who get the job done. After thirty
years of not getting to a conference finals, you know,
the thirty years, and you think everything's running fine.
Speaker 7 (12:27):
I mean, it's just ridiculous. It wasn't running fine when
they were winning. Think about it.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
You get rid of Jimmy Johnson, right, that tells you, yep,
that's it. But when it comes to this, where are
you on the Michael Parsons? Is he worth a headache?
With the podcast and the big contract? You gotta pay him?
Because I got a name for his podcast, turn Off
is Micah. That's my name of his podcast.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Is he worth it?
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Do you have to keep a guy like that? You
remember Khalil Mack was traded from the Raider. Remember that
to the Bears. Yes, and that was one of those
moments where they gave up a really good player and
that they needed some other pieces.
Speaker 7 (13:01):
And they ended up getting another one and they got
another edge rusher that was just as goodt Later.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
There you go. And that's the point. Or so, if
you're the Cowboys, what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (13:10):
You're keeping them or you're shipping them out and getting
more pieces to try to build up your team.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
We want to hear from you.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
It is the Odd Couple on a Trash Talking Tuesday,
Rob Parker, Kerry Rhodes in for Kelvin Washington right here
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
You know what you need to do, stick and.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Stay if you can hold out till tomorrow for Rob
Parker's news in the USA.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Bay, be sure to catch live editions of The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
It is the Odd Couple Fox Sports Radio on a
Trash Talking Tuesday, Rob Parker, Carry Rhoads coming to your
live from the tirerack dot Com Studios Track the supply
knows that will win in seas and takes practice, teamwork,
and a can do attitude. Thankfully, when you have a
neighbor like Tractor Supply, team work comes easy. Whether you're
(14:08):
caring for pets, chickens or a few acres, our team
members will help you succeed season after season. Tractor Supply
for life out here all right? Eight seven, seven ninety
nine On Fox talking about the Dallas Cowboys, Michael Parsons
that whole contract stuff and talk crazy Jerry Jones saying
(14:29):
the deals in place, Mike is like, I haven't done
anything without my agent. I'm not doing a backdoor deal.
But the biggest story is what should the Cowboys do? Like, really,
should they move on?
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Make a trade?
Speaker 5 (14:41):
Not because he can't play, because he's worth something.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
You can get something. Emmitt in Washington, you're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up?
Speaker 10 (14:49):
Emmett, Rob Parker and carry Roads doing today?
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Gray, don't forget to be listening tomorrow for the announcement.
I just want you to know that I love.
Speaker 10 (14:58):
That's an announcement.
Speaker 11 (14:59):
I hate the quiff.
Speaker 10 (15:00):
I mean you're making me wait a full twenty four hours.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Come on, dude.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Oh, so we got to get it all together, that's
all I'm gonna tell you guys.
Speaker 10 (15:05):
He and Calvin better be here for the announcement, so
you know, I respect it. But for the Cowboys, I
mean Jerry Jones, this man is losing his mind, like,
like there should be some age requirement for like guys
to be an owner a GM, Like I'm half joking
with that, but I'm also not because this dude has
done so many dumb things, like you wait to pay
Dak Prescott to where he gets sixty MILLI year, Like
whoever put the imaging together? And you guys are just
(15:26):
saying like that was quick imaging, by the way, great
job by them. But I digress. So sixty million dollars,
there's only four quarterbacks in my book who are like
worthy of that money, that being Mahomes, Alan Lamar, and
Joe Burrow.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
And he's not one of those four.
Speaker 10 (15:40):
So I think the Cowboys and like, do you guys
bring up a really good point where it's like they're
to be able to pay for their other guys? I mean,
either you trade Dak Prescott or you trade Michael Parsons.
I mean, Ceedee Lamb he's your number one receiver, he's
a top five receiver. I think you got to keep him.
But you got to think too, is Michael Parsons. He's
kind of a headache in a way because he's doing
these podcasts and he's very controversial and he's not afraid
(16:02):
to speak what's on his mind. So he can get
three pieces and you know, three possibly more humble pieces
out of Michael Parsons. I think that would be the move.
And there has been rumors that Dak Prescott could get
trade to the Browns or got shot down, but I
don't know if I believe that. I think they still
might be in talks, but watch to wait and see
what happens.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
Yeah, appreciate the call Emmett. And and I'm going old school,
but I think it hits home.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
And uh uh.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
Ralph kind of was an old baseball player for the
Pittsburgh Pirates and branch Rickey was the general manager of
the team. And Ralph kind of led the league home
runs or whatever. But the Pirates finished the last place,
so Rove kind of went to go get a raise, right,
I just led the league in home runs. I should
get a raise. And branch Ricky looked at him and said,
(16:48):
we finished the last place with you. We could finish
the last place without you, Like, like, what are you
and you didn't want to sell we weren't last place, right.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
You're a really good player on a really bad jack
in Kansas City. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (17:03):
What's up Jacks, mister Parker. Thank you for taking my call.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Sir, Absolutely, how are you, man?
Speaker 4 (17:10):
I'm good out here. You know.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Your co host for today, Kerry Rhodes.
Speaker 6 (17:18):
Kerry Rhoades, Carrie is good to meet you, brother, I
know I you know, first time encountering you. So it's
all good.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
I appreciate your brother, all right on.
Speaker 6 (17:25):
So the bottom line is, Michael Parsons is already at least,
if not your best player, your second the best second
best player on your team. Like understanding the quarterback is
of course so important in this league. So if you've
got a good quarterback who you've already paid, whether you
think whether he's good or not, you already paid him.
(17:47):
You got to stick with him. Then you need somebody
on the defensive side who's just as good as getting
to the quarterback to ensure that you have some kind
of balance here, and I understand that they played terrible
last year, but again, that quarterback play they had last
year was absolutely insane. So uh you in my opinion
to me, well you want to keep them.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
You want to keep them.
Speaker 6 (18:09):
It's like Pat Mahomes and Chris Jones. You've got to
have a good player on either side of the ball
that can be a leader. And I know he's controversial,
but he's young, he'll mature, he'll get better, and he's
playing at a position where he's good for another four
or five years. So you know, I think he's very
much worth the money for sure.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
All Right, all right, Jack's appreciate it. Thank you.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Thomas in Spokane. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Thomas.
Speaker 6 (18:37):
Taking my call? Love you guys so much.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Thank you, my man. You know we appreciate it. Right
back at you.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
I live. I listen to you guys every every damn day.
Speaker 6 (18:47):
First of all, the first thing I want to say is,
it's not Gonzaga, it's gone Ziga.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Okay, thank you.
Speaker 11 (18:56):
You guys are in the profession and.
Speaker 6 (18:58):
All these sports radio knows that Hurt. I listened to
him all the time, and there's like Gonzaga, Gonzaga.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Go It's Gonzega, Gonzaga. We got it, got it, we
got you. Thank you, thanks for correcting us.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
Get rid of, get rid of Dak Prescott, get rid
of him, and get rid.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Of Mark from Michael Michael Parsons and start over.
Speaker 6 (19:21):
Because the Dallas Cowboys are wrecked.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
But you, guys, say, Gary Jones, it's not. He's not.
They're never going to be anything with him in.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
The helm, no doubt.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
I think at this point I might take Barnaby Jones
over Jerry Jones's.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
I mean, that's Barnaby is pretty good. Barnaby was good.
It was not convincent, but yeah, and for the young people,
they could google barnib Joe. My mom loved that show.
She watched it a really Barnab Jones. It was an
old TV show from CBS.
Speaker 8 (19:54):
Like what sixties?
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Uh no, it isn't the eighties.
Speaker 5 (19:58):
John in Massachusetts, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
What's up? John, Rob?
Speaker 6 (20:03):
Kerry love you guys, and I love the Barnaby Jones.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Thank you, thank you man.
Speaker 11 (20:08):
That is awesome right now, guys, does this Kerry Jones
feel a little bit like Brando at the end of
the Godfather, Like he's just making no sense and he's
just incoherent at times, and it's like, I don't know
what he's talking about. I don't think anybody knows what
he's talking about. But the funny thing is these owners
are supposed to be fairly bright and and let's look
to another team, Cincinnati with Mike Brown a year ago.
Speaker 6 (20:30):
If he reaps.
Speaker 11 (20:31):
Jamar Chase and t Higgins, he saves a lot of money,
and he also probably makes the playoffs because the two
receivers didn't really participate in training camp. And I don't
blame them because they were looking for new contracts. So
you know, penny Wise, do all the foolish you signed
them a year ago. You probably make the playoffs he
that year, and you also save money in the long runner.
Speaker 6 (20:51):
You know, tick off half your fans at half your roster.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Right, just not bright, right, It isn't He just hasn't
done a good job. I don't know how you can
paint it the other way.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
Jerry's been awful at running the Cowboys, and people say, well,
he's a great business man, make money, dude. Almost anybody
running the Cowboys as far as merchandise and all this
stuff will make money. The Cowboys have always been at
that franchise, you know, like ICA's team, exactly for reasons.
So I Jerry couldn't couldn't botch that up, But he's
(21:21):
botched up running the team. That's the bad stuff, all right.
Coming up next from Solam will get his take on
this as well, of course, but first let's get you
caught up.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Mister Steve.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Here we go a little also starring Lee Merriweather.
Speaker 12 (21:43):
Hey, Quinn Martin, very nice, Alex very nice Jones. I
looked it up nineteen seventy three to nineteen eighty.
Speaker 7 (21:52):
Why did I always think his name was just Barnaby Jones.
I thought that was his real name to Beverly Hill
and real quick, real quick.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
He was the original tin Man and the odd couple,
the Wizard of Guds, I mean, the Wizard of I'm.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Sorry, and the Wizard Tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
Yes it is.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
And the news that the.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
Paint on his face, the metallic paint to make him silver,
made him ill and he had to drop out of
the picture.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
But Buddy Epton was supposed to be Wow, that's there's
a nugget for by the way, Barney B.
Speaker 12 (22:30):
Jones would have solved the whole cowboy thing in sixty
minutes exactly.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
He always did. What is beautiful niece very well, cat woman,
that's right. She was one of the cabulary men. She
was the original. All right, now you guys over my
head too, and I'm meant it usually.
Speaker 12 (22:44):
Can I mention that the NFL has these meetings ending
tomorrow and they'll have more meetings in May, so we're
gonna hear more about the tush push. Because they didn't
actually take a vote on the today, they did discuss it.
There's maybe not enough evidence for someone to say, for
safety reasons, we need to ban this, and so nothing's
decided yet today. What is decided is, are you familiar
(23:05):
with hawkeye. It's the system that decides in the tennis
Grand Slams, for example, whether the ball is in around yep.
That's the technology that's going to be used for first downs.
Now they have approved this in the NFL. It's going
to be at every stadium, even the international venues that
host a game. Six cameras, eight K cameras, optical tracking
(23:27):
of the position of the ball on the field, and
it'll be integrated into part of the replay system. All
out of New York and the on field officials will
be notified of the measurement outcome instead of actually getting
the chains onto the field and pausing the game for
a minute. They think this will be less time wow
and more accurate, So that's a go. In Major League
(23:48):
Baseball code, I Senga is the Mets pitcher Tonight. The
game is tied two to two Mets at Marlin's. In
the top of the fourth, the Mets shut down pitcher
Sean Mania for a couple of weeks after his strained oblique,
which has been a problem for a while. Rangers lead
one nothing at the Reds in the bottom of the fourth,
Rays out to a three to nothing lead against the Pirates.
In the second inning, Pittsburgh's pitcher Tonight Thomas Harrington, making
(24:10):
his major league debut. The Pirates today sent closer David
Bednar to triple a one inning, four runs allowed, and
his springy RA was over ten. The Yankee signed reliever
Adam Ottavino. Former Cardinals pitcher Lance Lynn retired. He turns
thirty eight next month. The six and oh Dodgers have
one of the Lake games, hosting the zero to five
(24:30):
Atlanta Breys, but Chris Sale is on the mound for
Atlanta against Dustin May of LA, making his first major
league start in about two years. Dodger first baseman Freddie
Freeman is out again after aggravating the ankle injury. Seven
NBA games just about to start. It's New York hoasting Philadelphia,
which has lost eight in a row. Cade Cunningham of
(24:50):
the Pistons doubtful for Wednesday, with Bruce Calf back to
you all.
Speaker 5 (24:54):
I Steve appreciate it. It is the odd couple. Rob Parker
Carrie Rhodes in for Calvin Washington. Didn't coming to your
live from the tire rack dot Com studios. Now, let's
welcome in mister Ephram Salaam, of course, former NFL offensive
lineman and of course so weekend radio hosts here at
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Ephrom, what's happening? How are you?
Speaker 5 (25:14):
I'm good from What's up? Brothers doing good. Let's start
with Jerry Jones and the whole idea that he goes
public and says he has a deal without talking to
Michael Parson's agent.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
I mean, what, what what is Jerry doing? Why would
he even put that in the universe or put that
out there? Like that. It just seemed like it was
out of place.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
It was out of place, and you know, you have
to wonder. Man, And I'm not an agist or anything
like that, but at a certain time, you know, you
begin to lose grips with reality, all right, And and
sometimes even now I have conversations with myself that I
forget that I just had him with myself and so
(25:57):
and so I might have come to a conclude was
about something and forgot to include my wife and she's.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Wait, we're doing what right?
Speaker 4 (26:07):
What I'm like, No, we talked about it. She was like, yeah,
that that didn't happen. And so I'm not saying that's
what this would happen, But I mean, what else can
can you say that explain that, like we have a
deal and they just like, yeah, we do not have
a deal.
Speaker 7 (26:27):
I took I took it as something that was personal, right.
I think there's something that happened with that agent before.
I mean that the way you're expressing it right now
can obviously be be a real thing. But could there
be some type of relationship a bad relationship with him,
and now you act like he didn't even know his
name exactly?
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Well, you know Jerry, Jerry is gonna prove his point
no matter how he has to prove it, and no
matter who he has to prove it too. And they're
a little subtle things he can do to let you
know that he just pleased with you or you guys
aren't on the same page. And so he has been
a master at that over the years, So that wouldn't
surprise me at all.
Speaker 5 (27:06):
How about they tabled the Tush push. I guess, what
are the sixteen teams or something like that, that wanted
band or whatever? Are they making too big of a
deal out of this, Ephraim?
Speaker 4 (27:19):
Yeah, they are. And I had talked about ways that
you can skirt around banning it if you just implement
rules that they have implemented before, Like you can't two
people from behind can't pick up a player off the
ground and move him over the top of other players.
That that rule alone, right there with Nick Gates, I
(27:42):
guess of the actual Toush push because the players behind
Jalen Hurts are literally picking him up off the ground
right right and crowd surfing him over the top of
the den.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
Well, what would stop what would stop guys from just
picking somebody up?
Speaker 3 (27:57):
You got a line.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
You know, if guys cuddle around him and you just
run down the field while you're carrying it, right.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
You just get on it back right, get on your
offensive tackles back and let him just take off and
run through the line of scrimmage and you got to
tackle both of them to stop the ball. But it's
it's it's subtle. It's a big deal. They're making a
big deal out of something that can be adjusted with
one or two rules. Uh not more than three people
(28:25):
at the line of scrimmage can push a player forward.
Just just little simple things like that that would make
this whole conversation. Nolan Boyd, either you do it or
you don't do it.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
He from salam As, our guest here on the Eye
Couple on the Trash Talking Tuesday, Rob Parker, Kerry Roads
right here on Fox Sports Radio, Ephan, what's the uh
I mean with all the stuff that's going on, with
all these rule changes that are you know, always happening
throughout the off season, these proposed rule changes, what's one
of the ones outside of the tust plus is the
one you're looking forward to or like it's it's one
(28:59):
of those ones that's shuldn't even be on the table
to discuss right now.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
Well, I think in essence, any of the rules that
they're trying to implement that isn't unfair to everyone should
be taking off the table should be tabled, right because
what you get is you get like you said about
(29:26):
the TIST plus sixteen teams, Well, the last I checked,
it was more than sixteen was double the stat in
the NFL. And so you can't like being a teacher,
you can't come into the classroom and two kids don't
want to do spelling, so you change the whole program
of what you're doing that day. They have to take
a real, real clear look at when they do have
(29:49):
rules that they want to change, because what happened is
it changes the integrity and in the very fabric of
the actual game. There's been so many rules that have
been put in and imp minute that's taken us further
or further away from the true essence of competition in football.
And so they have to be very mindful of that
as they every years. His four or five rules that
(30:10):
they want to address.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
See from the forty nine Ers owner Jed York acknowledged
sacrifices on the team that they're making, getting rid of
people and all kinds of stuff for this Brock Party extension.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
I don't feel comfortable with it.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
I don't think that he showed me that without pieces
in place, he's going to carry a team. Where are
you on the Brock Party Obviously have to pay him something,
but I can't see cashing him out.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
I can't Well, I'll just ask you this. If let's
say someone like I don't know Dak Prescott, our cousins.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Are those are two guys that I wouldn't have cashed
out either. I just want you to know that.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
But what I'm saying is to keep in contact that
if everybody he keeps saying, oh, Rock Party can't play,
it's just supporting cast. But there's about fifteen to sixteen
starting quarterbacks in the NFL right now on giant deals
who wouldn't be able to put up the numbers and
(31:16):
do what they've done without a supporting cast, including the
offensive coordinator who knows what he's doing, and supporting cast
offensive wise, whether it be aligne receivers on the outside
or running back. So anyone who has this notion or
this narrative of for Rock Party can't do it by himself.
There's maybe two or three quarterbacks in the entire NFL
(31:39):
who can do is buy themselves. And Rock Purtty doesn't
have to be one of those guys to warrant the
type of salary he's gonna get. He doesn't have to
be one of those guys. But what I want to
tell you he is he's a winner and in this
four years of starting, he's right up there with winning
the most games anybody had a four year stand. So
(32:03):
this whole no, we got to reframe how we're looking
at it. And the only reason we have to do
that is because Brott Party was the seventh ground draft.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
That's not it. That's not it. I think that's not it.
Speaker 5 (32:13):
No, Kirk Warner wasn't even drafted. Okay, so stop with that.
In from and nobody ever questioned them. You watched him
from day one, carry am I right?
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Anyway?
Speaker 5 (32:25):
And he bawled from day one. Nobody goes, oh, this
guy wasn't drafted. He was bagging groceries.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
Hall of Famer? How many Hall of famers did Kirk Corner?
Kirk Warner, excuse me.
Speaker 5 (32:35):
Walk you no, No, But my point is he won
a Super Bowl. I get it and then do you
know what? And he made those guys even better. They
didn't win before he got there. And my question, and
my question is the forty nine ers went to the
super Bowl without him.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
They went without Brock Party. They went with Jimmy Garoppolo.
And that's my only issue.
Speaker 5 (32:58):
If they hadn't been there he from without Rock Party,
then I would buy that that he went.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
There, took them to the super Bowl. They had gone
to the super Bowl without them.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Yeah, they have. They're a good organization. So to say
that you don't pay the quarterback who's continued your success,
all you're saying.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
Is I don't believe that he's that guy. I really don't,
and I've watched him. I don't because I'm metric, because
because I.
Speaker 5 (33:24):
Watched them last year. I watched them last year when
everything's not perfect. There are a lot of people when
things are perfect. I remember, and you can say whatever
you want and we're gonna end it at this. I remember.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Go look at.
Speaker 5 (33:36):
Aaron Rodgers record without Davonte Adams and games.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Remember they went to the desert.
Speaker 5 (33:41):
They played the Cardinals who were seven and zero, and
that when you look at guys like that and go.
How can he win without Davonte Adams or without some
of his best pieces. And I'm not saying you're right,
there's only a hit.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
I know there's only a handful of guys.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Like I said, it's only a handful of guys that
can do that. Boy doesn't have to be one of
those guys to value That's no.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
It just said I wouldn't. It would come out of
my wallet. That's all I'm saying. We will come out
of my wallet.
Speaker 5 (34:12):
You could pay him. I'm not mad at you, all right,
he from all ways. We appreciate your energy and spirit.
Thank you, thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
All right.
Speaker 5 (34:21):

Speaker 2 (35:31):
To Shekel City, the home base for Rob Parker's day
dicks against the scrap.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
I still don't know when I said that, but that's
just unbelievable. Did I knew that?
Speaker 1 (35:46):
I knew that.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
I knew that? Did I do that? Did got a
tissue for me?
Speaker 7 (35:51):
All right?
Speaker 4 (35:52):
Here you go.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
I was one or two last night, eighty three and
eighty four for the year.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
Oh no, I need a hat trick tonight eight four.
Speaker 5 (36:03):
Yeah, so one game under five hundred, that's not bad.
I'm betting with the spread. With the spread, all right,
here we go. Denver Nuggets minus three and a half.
They hosted Timberwolves tonight in the Mile High City. I
got Memphis Grizzlies plus three and a half. They are
hosting the Golden State Warriors, and I'm gonna take the
Chicago Bulls minus four and a half. The Toronto Raptors
(36:25):
are in Chicago for that. So again, Bulls minus four
and a half, Memphis Grizzlies plus three and a half,
and the Denver Nuggets minus three and a half.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
And Carrie, remember this, I'm not telling you who to
bet on. I'm telling you who I bet. That's so yeah,
all right, uh, Justin can you jump in the Pistons?
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (36:49):
With the suspensions obviously it was a big brawl. Yeah,
and they handed down.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
The league has come down and right away people want
to go the bad boy called them the bad Boy Pistons. H.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
I don't see a Lambierd there. I don't see a
Rick Mahorn Isaiah, Yeah, I see a pseudo Lambierd there. Yeah,
Isaiah Stewart. Who else? Who else you got? You're gonna
got Mahorn for sure? What else? Who else?
Speaker 7 (37:13):
Rodman was on that team? Isaiah d Mars, but Mars
was chilling. Yeah, Isaiah was obviously the tough guy.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
All right, So go ahead, let's hear what the league
put out.
Speaker 8 (37:24):
At Isaiah Stewart two game suspension, Dante Divicenzo one game,
Ron Holland one game, Nas Read one game, and Marcus
Passer one game.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
Okay, I mean, you know, fighting had really going out
of the league. You remember they used to fight a lot.
I mean, like real real, There used to be a
time when it was real fighting. And in David Stern
made you couldn't even come off the bench. If he
came off the bench, forget about throwing a punch or
a blow, you were going to get suspended. I remember
the Knicks playoff game against the Heat. You remember that
when the Knicks guy there was a fight right there
(37:57):
in front of the Knicks bench, and so the Heat
were all the way down. The coaches were able to
control them not to get off, So the Knicks were
right in front of the fight. They all get off
the bench. They suspended eight players and then they took Now,
to me, the only way it would have been fair
would have had let them suspend all the players for
one game. So what they did was they took four
(38:19):
players from one game and four from the other. So
the Knicks lost game six and seven. Now that's not fair,
am I right? I would have been like, take them
all off for game six, We'll lose that game and
then let us all be a full strength to play
game seven.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
They took out four and four and the Knicks lost
both games. That's crazy.
Speaker 7 (38:36):
I didn't remember that. I remember the fight obviously because
the Ben Gundy image, but.
Speaker 5 (38:41):
It was bad.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (38:42):
Yeah, I thought that was unfair to the Knicks during
that time. But fighting is really not as prevalent, and
he wasn't. This wasn't even the fight right now.
Speaker 7 (38:51):
They were tussling, you know what I mean, you a fight,
throw blow, Yeah, yeah, I guess the only reason that
obviously you got to make some kind of call here
as as as the as silver in this situation is
because it spilled out into the fans.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
That's that's really what what like the malice in the Palace,
like that was a brawl. That's a thirty for thirty.
That one man they were fighting. I missed that.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
I've been there.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
That was like every Pistons game in the history of
Detroit when I worked there, And that's the one game.
How you missed that one? I was speaking to some
kids about journalism, and I get out of the car,
get them kids.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
I got out of the car, and I get in
the car, turn the radio on, and I'm gonna make
the second half because I'll drive up to the Palace Detroit,
downtown Detroit, and the Palace like thirty highway miles. It's
far thirty highway miles. So I started to drive and
I turned on the score. The Pistons are down by
fifteen to the Pacers. So I have two choices. I'm
(39:46):
going to pass my apartment downtown to go get on
the freeway, so I could either turn off and go
home or go up thirty miles, drive thirty months. They're
down by fifteen. I'm like, I'm and as soon as
I got upstairs the whole fight. I wouldn't have seen
it anyway when it made it right, But anyway, right
as soon as I got there, that happened, all right.
(40:08):
Justin Fields, the Jets quarterback, Is he really the answer?
We're gonna talk about that. You better stick and stay
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Unless you met a world peace
