justin Frosberg.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Trying to say I don't know about this.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Obviously, we've played the show Halo Tani Walk Off Home
Run for you twelve times now, I'm sure right here
now it'll be the thirteenth time that we've played the
show how Tony walk off.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
I really thought we'd have the final call of the Knicks.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
A couple of times in the.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Mix, Noburg some Frostburg's moved past that Otani hit a
walk off on Otani Bobblehead night and me, come on, man,
Frostbur's gonna be listening to this on a like a loop.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
And he now people might be making things up about
a bat.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
I don't know, uh so Otani hits the walk off
home run, But we talked a lot a few minutes
ago about Max Munsey and Dodgers Nation, which is a
big Dodgers fans.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
I have three hundred thousand followers.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
MLB Network insider John Paul Morosi, and the guy who
covers the Dodgers for The Athletic all tweeted out that
guy well because I had his name, and that I
walked because I found I found John Morosi all tweeted
out that Max Munsey tried out the torpedo bat during
practice or during batting practice earlier today used it the first.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Couple of times.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Up went back to his old bat for his final
bat of the night in the eighth inning, and that's
the bat he used when he hit the two run
double to tie the game at five apiece, and Frostberg says,
I'm watching the highlight. It still looks like a torpedo bat.

Speaker 6 (02:18):
I'm zoomed in completely here it is torpedo bat.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
So so, so who do I trust you or Moros
and the and the and the athletic beat guy in
Dodgers Nation.

Speaker 6 (02:30):
That's a tough It's easy. One guy's in a press
box hundreds of feet in the air. One guy's watching
the highlight zoomed in.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I don't know Morosi's on the field. I mean, I
don't know. I think Moroxi's I.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Wasn't talking about him. I was talking about.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
Another story here. I'll have to take that one up
with him off air. Y.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
I'm taking this up with you off air.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
You got this, I know, I mean, I I go by,
I'm looking at the highlights, jams.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Look look at the highlight, and then do the full screen.
It looks like there's a bowling pin at the end
of his bat.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
I just want to say this though. The way he
is so angry about this, though, it really.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
Why make up something that they didn't need to do?

Speaker 7 (03:17):
No, no, no, But it's like you have a stock in
torpedo bats, like you have a making forest the frostburg.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
No, maybe I got stock in torpedo gloves as well.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Okay, are you looking at the picture that the two
pictures off of Dodgers Nation is that you're looking at.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
I'm actually the actual highlight of the play.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I'm looking at the bat he's usually it looks like
a regular bat. It looks like a regular bat.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
That he's using. I don't see it doesn't look like
a torpedo bat.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
The jets literally ruined your eyeballs.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
It's not.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
You can't even see anymore.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
No, it looks like it looks like a regular bat,
not a torpedo bat. Tell you what it looks like.
I'm telling you what it looks like. Man, I'm telling you.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
So you're watching the highlight. You paused it and you
zoomed in.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Yeah, I paused. I'm looking at the back.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
I look him holding the bat. I'm looking at him
holding the bat in his head twice. I got two
pictures of it, and it looks like the regular bat.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
You must be watching another highlight.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
How about this call John Paul Morosi, because you know
he comes on the show with this once in a while.
Call it and get him to come on with us,
because he was on and plus he was on the
field for this, so we got to call him a
get him.

Speaker 7 (04:30):
I started circulating old Max Munsey highlights trying to get
him out.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Of Wait a minute, this double is.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Hang on a second, this double is off of Noah Cindagard.
Wait a minute, hang on it, Hang on a second.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Wait a minute. It is a long time ago. Let's
get John Paul on. He'll say, we'll have him talk
about it. I think that'll work. I think that'll work.
Get get John Paul, We get the Pope on. Call
the Pope, he'll come on with us.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
His phone numbers not on my phone.

Speaker 7 (04:57):
Actually, I think you just need to be friendly and
make friends with Max Munsey and maybe he'll tell you,
Oh okay.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Uh yeah, hey Max, use a torpedo bat not saying
not me, Nope nope. Asked me another question, nope, nope.

Speaker 8 (05:10):
No.

Speaker 7 (05:10):
Of course, that's now what I'm waiting for. Where where's
he at in this media frenzy?

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Uh, he'll talk, he'll talk. Well, we'll get the well, look,
I think after you know. Otani won with a walk
off home run on his bobble head day. I think
Max months he would be like story number two on here.
But you know, torpedo I.

Speaker 7 (05:26):
Mean he also had another error. I mean you know
there's a lot going on there.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Hey, Show, Hey, how about that home run? What was
that home run? Like?

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Uh, and then his interpreter says, Show says for he
used a torpedo bat for the first time.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
Now, I really wish I had a maple four as
to Miyam if he admits.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
To that, yeah, I used I used my own torpedo bat.
Oh you no, I made my own one.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yeah. It's got all kinds of great stuff on it.

Speaker 7 (05:51):
You'll love it new at your local sporting goods store.
The shoe hey Antani signature a torpedo.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Bat, Yeah, buddy, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
But waing a big stick, Jason when the right highlight, I've.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Seen it right here. It's it's it's it's it's a regular.

Speaker 7 (06:14):
By the way, he is now the tenth player in
Dodger history to Homer on his bobblehead night, and he's
done it twice.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Well, the Dodgers do have how Mans done it twice?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Hey, the Dodgers do have a lot of bobble head nights,
and they have like three bobblehead nights a week.

Speaker 7 (06:28):
So you gotta keep packing them in because a lot
of times you can sell the ticket. People take the
bobblehead and then they get the hell home and then
they watch the game from there.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Oh I don't I think they did that with the Angels.
I don't think they do that with the dogs.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
Look at look at Otani's walk off home run. Look
at Holly Robinson's Pete Robinson Pete's video of it. That
upper right corner. There ain't nobody there. Yeah, she's such
into yourself.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Wait did she take the ball away like uh, like
Rodney Pete did from MAXIMUMZ.

Speaker 7 (06:58):
I mean they're behind your screen here, so she did
not have the opportunity to make a catch or mean
mug anybody.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Rodney a really good sport about that.

Speaker 7 (07:06):
By the way, there's people came at and from all angles.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Yeah, people forgot that Max Munzy just missed the ball
like he missed it. Rodney caught it after Max missed it,
Like that's what happened.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
And check you check your phones.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Oh my goodness, Frostburg, you are relentless with this. Hang on, okay,
hang on here.

Speaker 7 (07:23):
And if you're wrong you're gonna get the needle, Sorr.
I've been watching a lot of sipplewits, the last couple.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
I mean the picture I just said, it's science.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
It's so blurry. I can't even I can't even make
out Mary Hart's face. I get that picture is so blurry.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
Because that's not Mary Hart.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
This is this is he's facing Nestor Cortes frost Perg.
Come on, man, come on, you can't, you can't.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
It's it's it's I'm looking at the I'm looking at
the bat from the at bat itself, and it's a
it's a regular bat. There's no there's no craziness around
the barrel. It's fuzzy math again, get get, Get John
Paul on, or let's wait for Maxi Moncy to talk.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
I enjoy the hell out of this. This is great.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
The fact that you don't want to get John Paul
Morosi on it tells me.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
That we're going to have to have a conversation off air.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Okay, If and if John Paul says, yeah, he was
using he wasn't using a torpedo bat, you're gonna say, hey,
John Paul said he can't go on tonight, He'll come
on another night.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Now you can't do it. It's really busy, yeah, really
really busy. Really Okay, so hey, how about this for baseball?
You guys ready for this? Hey, that's ready.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Let's bring Monte on here because this will be a
uh a great a great question right here. So you know,
every week baseball, every week my wife does trivia, uh
and we she always sends me the big sports questions, right,
so here you go, big baseball sports question here. And
this was this was worth twenty points tonight, lucky, Yes, trivia.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
This was a big question tonight.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
And you had They had to get two out of
the five right to get the points they needed for
this question.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Okay, so here we go, right.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
I will tell you when she asked me, I rattled
off the first four and I did not.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Get the fifth one. Okay, okay, I rattled first four.
I did not get the fifth one.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
The first class inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame
in nineteen thirty six were which five players? Which five?
This is my wheelhouse because it's old baseball trivia. So
I first four and I said, wow, the fifth one?
And I guessed like four people, and she said nope, nope, Nope, nope.
I'm like, I don't know how I didn't get this. Okay,

(09:39):
So there we go. And yet shoe Otani is not
the answer. Not an answer.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
One's got to be Babe, Ruth. Yes there.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Now, think about that famous picture where Ruth is in
the middle and he's got his legs folded up, he's
got his legs.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Crossed like that.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Got a torpedo back.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
He's got a torpedo back. That's the first Hall of Fame,
that's the first class. Yeah, he had a forty out
spack that he used.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Yes, Christy Matthewson.

Speaker 9 (10:01):
Yes, do you think I'm gonna know this? You said
nineteen when.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Nineteen thirty Luke Good guess not lu Garet. They they
they waived it.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
They waved it for lu Garrick because you know he
had Luke Rick's disease.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Uh so they waved they landed it. Yes, ok Why Cob, Yes,
ty Cob.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
Yes, one of them's gotta be one of the most
prestigious baseball cards ever.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
Boom, Honus Wagon, you.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Got it, Honus Wagner, very good.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
I did not get Honus Wagner in the big tray
while because I said, because I put I said the
first four, Yes, Walter Johnson Harmon looking him up obviously
on the on the internet.

Speaker 7 (10:42):
Uh why did I not know this by all century books?
That's so dogg Eiared. It's not even funny because there's
lots of.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Other guys that I would have guessed. Like I said,
Rogers Hornsby. No, not Rogers Hornsby cy Young.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
No, not.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
I'm like, how is it not Rogers Hornsby and cy Young?
And then it was no, it was Honus Wagner.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
I'm like, oh, s like the seventies.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
I was just saying, wasn't it Hornsby still active at
that point?

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I don't know, I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
I don't think he was well. Babe Babe Ruth was
thirty six at least see Rogers Hornsby. Uh did you
mean Bruce Hornsby no being ing Rogers he played? Oh no, no,
he pull He played until thirty six. Okay, so okay,

(11:24):
but Babe Ruth was still but they put him in
the Hall of Fame. Babe Ruth was still playing. I
don't think his last year was thirty six. I think
he was still he was still playing. Oh no, he
had just finished playing yet. That one really bad year
with Boston.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
Yeah, he was finished.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Yeah, and then waiting like the waiting thing didn't happen
untill later.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
So yeah, yeah, and they wait, they they wait, and
then they waved it I think for Lou Garrig so
we can go in.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
So those were those were the those were the five.
They got two of them, right, that's all they needed to.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Get their h to get their points. That was a
two things.

Speaker 9 (11:55):
That's a question.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
That's a tough question.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
The tough question.

Speaker 9 (11:58):
Yeah, like to think of quick.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Ners like me and Smith hanging around, you get a
couple of minutes to think of it, You get like
two and a half.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Minutes to think of it. Yeah, and uh yeah, it
happens that way.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
But I actually have one other trivia question, Manzie, this
is a good one for you.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Ready, this is a really good on feeling.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
So tonight Moncey Bolanos walked in with the show Hao
Tommy bobblehead that she got from the game tonight. Here's
your trivia question. Who was walking out with that bobblehead?
Because it's not Moncey Bolagos.

Speaker 7 (12:29):
Is someone giving her the cash equivalent? I mean you might, yeah,
like Ted Dibiassi said, everybody has a price.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
No, the correct answer is it will be stolen by
Justin Frostbert sometime in the next hour and a half.

Speaker 9 (12:42):
I literally just looked back to make sure I was stolen.

Speaker 7 (12:44):
Like I could confirm it sitting here in the studio.
She started to turn very slowly as if like she
was being it was being lifted while Seeing talked to
she would get MONSI on the air, so you can distract.

Speaker 9 (12:56):
Literally, I thought, that's what he was telling me.

Speaker 7 (12:59):
I was waiting for her, like hold it like covet
in like a kid's toy.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
You just wait for Julie on the fourth floor to
call for her.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
He already told me that the elevator is not working.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Is going to get a roll of athletic tape. It
just like tape it to her leg like so it
looks like a holster. Yea to walk around with it.
No one's taking this from me.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
That you didn't get the gray bat.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
That's fine the silver slug to take it from, but
we need to confirm how many of those are are
out there. So Manzi has her bobblehead here, Yes, and
it's the MVP with the black bat.

Speaker 8 (13:40):
Correct, So I think based on the information I've gone
through texts from my co workers. There were two in
our box that they gave to our department. Okay, two
of them came out with silver, so tu per box.

Speaker 7 (13:55):
Okay, if anybody's looking to move them, and you know
I'm a market mover, let me.

Speaker 9 (13:58):
I'll let you know.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
So wait, So if there were two per box, how
many is that total.

Speaker 9 (14:02):
In the box? There's probably like forty five.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
Is what's in the box?

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Okay, so there's four out of every box.

Speaker 9 (14:09):
There's a slim because some of them are bigger. You know,
past bobbleheads have been bigger. These are slims.

Speaker 8 (14:14):
So I would assume there's maybe like forty five fifty
in a box.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
So let's call it fifty.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
So one thousand divided.

Speaker 7 (14:21):
By say sixty Let's say, well, but wouldn't you make
the capacity right?

Speaker 8 (14:26):
But the capacity with tickets is like fifty two thousand,
fifty six is the capacity just with everybody?

Speaker 3 (14:33):
You know, but hang out? So it's like four out
of one hundred.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
So it's forty out of a thousand, four hundred out
of ten thousand. So you want to say there's about
sixteen hundred, sixteen.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Eighteen I would say there's probably fifteen hundred.

Speaker 7 (14:46):
Then yeah, I probably did the same as last I just.

Speaker 10 (14:48):
Did the you guys, I just did the math right there.
I did live the bath. I was we did the
bath like I was good will hunting. I did that
on the board. Hey, look at that. I'm just a chatitor,
but I did the math on the port A decade
is rubbed off on you.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
Good for you. But last year they did fifteen hundred, so.

Speaker 9 (15:04):
That sounds about right.

Speaker 8 (15:05):
So maybe two thousand if they did a little bit
more than the amount, that sounds about right.

Speaker 7 (15:10):
Okay, soy base one was selling between one forty one
eighty when they had him in hand, right, they were
always the pre sales, but now it's the actually you
have them, yes, and can ship and make delivery.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
You've been good in that body.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
What do they call that?

Speaker 5 (15:27):
Pith? Poor math?

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Was pretty good math.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
For me on the I'm telling you solve any problem
you got, just give me a chalkboard exit.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
How about a fresca exit? Swollen down The Jason Smith.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Show with Mike Harvin Live from the tire rack dot
Com Studios. Uh, how about we talk about an even
bigger record that is about to be broken.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Coming up next right here, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven

Speaker 3 (16:03):

Speaker 1 (16:04):
The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon
Live from the tire rack dot Com Studios, where, Hey,
the biggest baseball story of the night. The Braves are
oh and seven? Oh sorry, too soon, too soon for that,
Too soon we go.

Speaker 7 (16:20):
It's crazy man, too soon, crazy times.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Uh show Heyo Tani with the walk off home run
on the night of his bobblehead A really big deal.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
I mean, as such an incredible game.

Speaker 7 (16:33):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
The Dodgers seven and oh nine eight O. Now they
may never lose.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
They can clinch a playoff spot next Saturday, depending on
how things go. They need the Padres to lose once
and they clinch a playoff spot.

Speaker 7 (16:45):
Can I ask one question, though, since you're talking about
the Braves and there a horrible start, we didn't really
dive too deep into it.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
The jerks in profar can the Braves get their money back? Oh?

Speaker 3 (16:56):
I think I know you already drove that thing off
the lot.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Man, is that it appreciation? Now it's yours?

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Yeah, you you don't get that back. You took it.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
I'm sorry you took possession of it. I'm sorry you
took possession. It's it's you have to keep it.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Yeah, you bought the the one bogus year fire beware.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Look, the Braves will have some guys coming back soon.
They got a couple of injuries.

Speaker 11 (17:20):
Man is coming back last Small, Steve Abs broadcast, Terry Pendleton, Oh,
Francisco Cabrera.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Yeah, all these guys through all the legends.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
It'd be great. Brett Butler, Yeah, it'd be fantastic.

Speaker 5 (17:37):
Did you always say Brett Butler?

Speaker 1 (17:38):
I like saying Brett Butler because people like, is he
talking about the baseball player or the actress?

Speaker 3 (17:44):
And that's why I like you, Brett.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
But how do we get Otis Nixon back out there?

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Oh? Otis Nixon? Wow?

Speaker 4 (17:51):
How's that for a deep dive?

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I think Otis Nixon. He was the last out of
the ninety two World Series. I tried to butt for
a base hit, and I think Mike Timlin threw him
out like on a grot like off from his knees
and that won the World Series with the Blue Jays, And.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Then I almost went one too far. I'm like, oh,
that guy's no longer with us.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Never mind, Uh, what a surprise if we were gonna
go No, it seems like, hey, that was a great
names like, no, it doesn't work.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
No, that's fine, that's fine, that's fine.

Speaker 7 (18:14):
It wasn't It was all positivity. I was trying to
include them in the discussions. And again keep walking down,
you know, old baseball cards of the seventies for one
hundred Alex.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
But look the other big highlight of tonight, Alex Ovechkin
is now three goals away from setting the all time
record for goals scored in a career. He has three
goals away from breaking Wayne Gretzky's record. After this goal tonight,
in a blowout loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, thirty.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
Five seconds to go on the period star.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Hut eight D.

Speaker 12 (18:52):
Two, you're seeing his wife, his fist bumping with Gary Bettman.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Now his teammates were all excited.

Speaker 7 (19:06):
That was a little weird seeing Gary Bettman with some
positivity there.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, well, you know, usually don't think of Gary Bettman
and positivity in the same sense well, or just him
doing anything but a press conference, yeah, where he seems
upset about something.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Yeah, here, I'm.

Speaker 7 (19:22):
Gonna hand over the Stanley Cup. I wanted to be
left alone.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
And then he hugged Putin.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Uh yeah, they're sure that Putin was there and he
hugged him, and Putin rode a horse around the ice
with no shirt on. And do you really think, really quick,
before we get into this, do you really think Putin
comes here for the for ovet Because now he's three
goals away, he could conceivably squitt get a hat trick
and do it. But like, does Putin come here to
see it? I mean, really, does he come here to

(19:49):
see Ovechkin break the record.

Speaker 7 (19:51):
I'm gonna go on and let and say no. But
it does make for an interesting potential here.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Right, Sure Putin coming to it to a hockey game,
I think it would, you know.

Speaker 7 (20:03):
But just from a with everything else swirling about whatever, Like,
I don't think this one has been broached to the
press secretary in any of the briefings as it, I
don't think so.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
I think we need to find.

Speaker 7 (20:16):
A way to get you know, Fox Sports Radio representation,
either Frostburg or Monsei or or Sentier he could ask hey,
Alex in the back and all of a sudden he
asked that question.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
I mean because right, I mean Trump was big with
the hockey game and we played Canada, right, you know
during during the All Star break the Four Nations, And
now here's what.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
You talked about annexation.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Yeah, yeah, I mean there's no annexation on the on
the table for this.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
But maybe Putin is here. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (20:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
I don't know. Maybe Putin shows up.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
You want to talk about ratings for a game?

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Man, people too didn't go. I don't know, but I
feel really weird. I don't know what this is. I
don't know what's gonna happen. I don't know how people
are going to react to this, but I gotta see it,
Like where's he going to be sitting who's he going
to be sitting with? Like, what's gonna happen when Ovechkin
scores the goal? Will he be able to come to
more than one game?

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Right?

Speaker 1 (21:09):
What if you know, because's got a score, right, you
gotta think he's gonna score, But what if he meant
he's gonna stay and keep going to games? Olvechkin breaks
the record, Like you're not.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
Making the putin the version of Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Well they're supposedly tight, right, Like, didn't putin give him?
He gave him a gift for his wedding when Ovechkin
got married. If he I mean, he's kind of a
big export. So yeah, you know, I mean, I I
wonder if he would actually be here, but putin here,
I don't know. Oh well I would be able to well,
but is already here?

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (21:40):
No, it is that the world changes every every twenty
four hours, that is for sure. Uh but look when
it comes to this record, right, that that Ovechkin is
going to have. And you know, look, I've been a
huge hockey fan my whole life. Right, this is a
story that.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
You used to go to games all the time with
your ass friends and ESPN.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Oh man, we used to go to Whaler's game. Oh
my god, Whalers games was so much fun.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
You've lost in the process.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
I gotta, I gotta, I gotta. I got a couple
of great Whalers hockey stories for it. But the greatest
game was ever that was a Whaler was a Whaler
Bruins game. Oh my god, it was fantastic. But you know,
I went a lot of Syracuse s Crunch games too, Islanders,
Like I mean, like a big hockey fan, and this
is a goal, this is a record I remember watching
being set when Gretzky broke the all time goal record.

(22:24):
I mean I remember seeing it and here's Ovechkin, who's
gonna break this record, And I just kind of feel
me about it. I don't have any feeling one way
or another. And it's it's I don't feel political about it.
That's not like, it's not that's not the case. It's
not that I feel he doesn't deserve to break the record, like, oh,
I want Wayne Gretzkin have all my hockey records.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
Yeah, okay, that's great.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
That's not how the world works, right, we see records
getting broken all the time. It's not that I don't
feel that that Ovechkin's deserving. The guy's gonna be the
greatest goalscorer we've ever seen. You can't just back your
way into nine hundred career goals. It doesn't happen that way.
But he's had the decorated career, right He's he's got
the heart trophies, you know, the MVP's got the first
Team All NHL. He's gonna have the goal record, he's

(23:05):
got the Stanley Cup Championship, and oh, by the way,
in which he was the which he won the Consumith
Trophy for Playoff MVP. Like, he's got the resume of
anybody who's gonna break the record. Ovechkin clearly is a
guy that you shouldn't have a lot of problems with, right.
This is a guy from the sports perspective of it,
hey deserves to break it. But I mean, am I
gonna be excited to see history?

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (23:26):
But I just can't get over the I just kind
of feel about it. And again, I'm not either way,
not one way or the other. And I don't know
if it's because here we are now with records that
records being less than they used to a little bit
less than used to when you and I were growing up,
and records were about everything. You know, when you see
different things come into play. Maybe it's the Mitchell Report

(23:48):
and steroids ruined it a lot for everybody because baseball
records were clearly the biggest ones that we had seen.
And who knows, what's you know, the damage Barry Bonds
did to everybody Psyche's by breaking the home run record,
and here he is, you know, and and shrouded in
in ped stories. So I don't know if that's the case,
but I just feel like, yeah, it's it's a it's
a big story, and it's gonna be cool to see it.

(24:10):
But I don't have a great, unbelievable feeling one way
or another where I can say, oh, I can't stand
this because I want Gretzky to have it. I don't
feel that way. Oh I can't wait to see Ovechkin
break it. I don't feel that way either. It's weird
because I should feel some sort of incredible passion one
way or another about this, and I just don't. And
I've been asking myself this the last few days, like

(24:31):
it's gonna happen, and it's it's gonna happen this year,
like initially thought, well, maybe it happens this year. But
he needs a little bit too much. He's scoring about
a goal every other game, and but he's starting to
heat up now because and he's smelling that record. You know, now,
you're three goals away from it. He has seven games
left to bring it, right, other than a lot of
ice time, right, he's gonna it's gonna happen soon, right,

(24:53):
So I've gone from hey, maybe it happens now, but
now I've been like I've been dealing with it and
thinking about it, and I just I can't find a
way to get more than just more of a lukewarm
kind of response to it. And I don't know why
to be, you know, try to think about it the
last few days, and I just can't really come up
with anything.

Speaker 7 (25:10):
Some of it for me is I think about the
longevity marks like this, that they're cool, right, then you
celebrate that the guy has been able to play and
stay healthy and whatever the long time, because I remember
being kind of mad even with the cal Ripken streak,
like because there were always those questions in Septembers if

(25:31):
if he struggled for a two week period down the
stretch and the Orioles were in contentions like would it
help to have.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
A day or off or two?

Speaker 5 (25:38):
Would that not be a good thing?

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Here?

Speaker 7 (25:40):
Instead of the narrative all like, damn it, he still
goes to work every day, even with whatever injuries he
may have been fallen him along the way, so you know,
trying to weigh that and then all the way through
of you know, you can the stat compilers, and maybe
it's how we look at at the game a little
bit that way. Maybe it's the analytics of things to

(26:00):
where you're trying to find real meaningful stats versus you know,
a goal tonight in a five to one shillacking, Right,
So we look at the compilation of such maybe a
little bit differently to where like yesterday, like Jokic's achievement
was incredible in that double overtime game, what was the

(26:22):
final analysis of it? Russell Westbrook screwed up and they lost.
So it's a great footnote. Hey, Yokich had another great game.
Guess what you lost and why Let's talk about Westbrook
missing a lamp. Let's talk about the file, let's talk
So like the jokicch thing is great, but it gets
pushed off, right, so you know, the larger context, I

(26:43):
think we're a little more maybe hyper aware and critical of.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
It as to it.

Speaker 7 (26:49):
I'm not going to dismiss it of a Haus and
NHL record because that's not fair because it's still, you know,
a sport that we celebrate and watch all these achievements
and ovechkins, and that is now two decades We've been
watching this guy go to work, and the fact that
he's still achieving at a high level should be something
to be celebrated. But you know, it's the the balance

(27:10):
with the compilation of it and meaningful goals along the way,
because even as you set it up earlier, it's like, wow,
five to one loss, right, So it's like, hey.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
It's the one bright spot that you keep working to.

Speaker 7 (27:26):
I'm not going to go to the xenophobic side of it,
but I'm sure there's still plenty of folks that will
go that way. Even though you know, Gratzky's a Canadian,
I guess we still embrace him that way. That he's saying,
why Kiki Hockey on Saturday Night Live? So ve's you
get to be on Saturday Night Live after breaking this record?
And would he do a fifties beach themed skit?

Speaker 4 (27:55):
Probably not.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
You'd have to have putin on the show too. Yeah
it is the shirtless with a horse. Yeah, you can
just have that.

Speaker 7 (28:02):
And then it would be you know that this comes
out on stage. He doesn't have to do a damn thing.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
That's all it is.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Is he gonna dance? Nope, he's just here.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
They got they got putin on a horse with no
shirt on. Wow. And oh and there's no Vetchkin, Oh
there is.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
He's holding the puck up that he's scored to break Gretzky's.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
Record and smiling at you.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
That's all it is.

Speaker 7 (28:20):
But yeah, I don't know. I don't know what it is.
But I kind of feel with you. I understand where
you're at. It's not a an over excitement's being cool
to see. However, he does it right? Is it in
spectacular fashion? Is it a breakaway? I don't know what
do we get? Do we get a penalty shot? Is
it crazy? I mean, I just don't know. I feel

(28:41):
like I'm now here in the uh wedding wedding crashers
kind of thing, not wedding crashers old school. Oh, I
don't even know what I'm gonna do.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
You know the movie? What do you think, Frostburg? What
do you got?

Speaker 5 (28:53):
I mean, this one's very simple for you guys. Okay,
this is rocky for right here. This is America versus Russia.

Speaker 6 (29:01):
Uh, of course you're gonna side with Gretzky.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Gretzky's Canadian.

Speaker 7 (29:06):
That's what I said, though, I mean, he's so like
did we adopt him.

Speaker 6 (29:09):
Kings wouldn't be in LA without Gretzky. You know Gretzy
from from the NFL, you don't know him from being Canadian.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
I mean I had had a glass of wine with
Gretzky before. That was great talking about why Kiki high.

Speaker 6 (29:19):
And the first thing you think of when you hear
the name when Gretzky is not Canada, Well.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
He is, but he is from Canada. Though he's not.
You know, that's you said, you said it's Rocky Ford.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
That's like Rocky Ford have been different if Rocky was
training in Toronto, you.

Speaker 5 (29:32):
Know, well there's a lot of snow there.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Maybe he was, and instead of saying, hey, you know Adrian,
it was you know Adrian, A Hey, Adrian, Ay, hey
you know, uh, I got a big fight coming up, agent,
you know, you know, I mean, it would have been
a little different, a little slightly.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
I'm shocked there hasn't been more people like making stuff
up about him, like like alleging stuff. Now that he's
coming this close to.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Gretzky's Wow, you're getting you're getting I like that ark there.

Speaker 5 (29:58):
Froud, Wow, You're not a little shock. I'm actually very shocked.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Well, I can't believe.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
He's all the untouchable records.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
I can't believe.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
No, you've gone dark, especially because of what a great
night you're having with the Otani walk off home run.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
That's that's what makes me spride.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Well.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
I'm sure we'll hear it right now when we find
out what's trending in the wide world of sports from
someone who has a show Heltani and he bobblehead doll
on the desk with her.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
It's Manzi Blagos.

Speaker 8 (30:31):
These are all true statements, but since we are on hockey,
I will tell you there is a shootout happening right
now between the Avalanche and the Blackhawks. They are tied
at two apiece in this shootout, So who doesn't love
a shootout?

Speaker 9 (30:43):
Do people hate shootouts? Is this like?

Speaker 3 (30:45):
No? I love shootouts?

Speaker 8 (30:46):
Okay, okay, I don't know how like how I like it,
but I'm not big on hockey, so I don't know.

Speaker 9 (30:51):
Because I'm a casual I like it.

Speaker 7 (30:53):
I don't like shootouts today and I wanted to come
to a natural you know what I mean, normal skating time.

Speaker 9 (30:58):
Like like in soccer. I hate right penalty kicks.

Speaker 8 (31:01):
You know, they want to keep so Yeah, it's like
maybe because I'm a casual eye in, I'm enjoying the shootout.
The krack in are all over the Canucks still talking
hockey here three zero halfway through the third period the Rangers.
They edged the wild five to four in overtime. Yes,
Alexovechkins scored, but the Capitols lost to the Hurricanes five
to one, and the Maple Leaves took down the Panthers.

Speaker 9 (31:21):
Three to two.

Speaker 8 (31:22):
One game going on in the NBA, and it's the
Clippers and the Pelicans. LA is up one oh three
to eighty eight less than five minutes to go. James
Harden twenty one points and ten assists. The Cavaliers were
down by fifteen at one point to the Knicks Jason's Knicks,
and then they came back to beat them one twenty
four to one oh five. Donovan Mitchell twenty seven points
in the win. The Wizards with the win over the

(31:42):
Kings one sixteen to one eleven was the final score.
So Sacramento has lost seven out of their last eight.
They have a one game lead over the Suns for
the final playing spot in the West.

Speaker 9 (31:54):
What are they doing? The Heat beat the Celtics one
twenty four to one oh three.

Speaker 8 (31:57):
Yes, Jalen Brown, played, Yes, Jason Tay and played the
heat still won. The Rockets are headed to the playoffs
for the first time since the twenty nineteen twenty twenty
season after they crushed the Jazz one forty three to
one oh five. Anthony Davis called game after defeating the
Hawks with his last game winning shot. Not a buzzer beater,
but one twenty to one eighteen was the final score.
Davis ended with thirty four points and fifteen rebounds and

(32:20):
the thunder best record in the NBA sixty four and twelve.
They've won eleven in a row. They took down the
Pistons one nineteen to one oh three. And in baseball,
in case you missed it, first piss.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Swinging high drive left center.

Speaker 6 (32:36):
Field had golow o, my goodness, so held Toney soo.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
Not a swing.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
He's headed home And once again the Dodgers walk off winners.

Speaker 9 (32:52):
A five seventy Alway Sports Dodgers Radio Network.

Speaker 8 (32:55):
That was a Sayanara swing In case you missed that,
that's what his and the Dodgers.

Speaker 9 (33:02):
They handed the Braves another lost.

Speaker 8 (33:05):
The Braves have yet to win six five was the
final score.

Speaker 9 (33:09):
Dodgers eight to know their.

Speaker 8 (33:10):
Best starts In nineteen fifty five, Diamondbacks edge the Yankees.
Zach Gallon for the for Arizona, pitched six and two
thirds inning. He had three hits and thirteen strikeouts in
that one, and the Phillies outscored the Rockies five to one.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
Back to you guys, thanks a bunch of botzi.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Yes, you know, it would be really cool if Ovechkin
got it. I was thinking about this, if Ovechkin got
it as an empty netter.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Like that, an empty netter like all that.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
Yeah, man, yeah, what is it?

Speaker 7 (33:39):
A Brett Farve Michael Straighthands situation here gets it?

Speaker 4 (33:44):
If the half assed plays it to the middle.

Speaker 9 (33:47):
Of that happened, people would say it doesn't count.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
Oh that would be awesome. That'd be Hey, it's an
empty net we could see it. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
I think the anticipation for a goal would be there,
because you know, if he shoots it on then it's
going in.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Yeah, I mean it's not a Ray Dave this rebound attempt.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Yeah, that would be awesome. Uh So there we go.
Thank you very much, Monsie. Appreciate it.

scoring tonight, o Tani hitting the walk off home run. Uh,
there's one guy that picked the wrong night to have
an incredible night in the NBA, and that, unfortunately was

(36:46):
Anthony Davis ad tonight for the Mavericks thirty four points,
fifteen rebounds, five blocks, and this game winner as the
Mavericks beat the Hawks one twenty one one eighteen.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
Here pass the Davids convintion with the three point.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Line, ay d going up with three point four.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Shot.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Hey thanks, it looks so easy.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
Anthony, Mavericks Radio Network on the call.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
He hits the run the running one hander, which is
one of my favorite basketball shots because I was good
at the running one hander.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
I was.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
It looked like, what are you doing? It's my running
one hander. No, usually you're running and throwing the ball up.
It's a running one hander.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
That was your move. Oh? I love the running one hander.
That was it? That are shooting threes? That's Smith in
the lane.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
I get a three point contest with you and Arnie Spaniard.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
Oh, I would win. I would win. I would I
would train for a week and I would win.

Speaker 7 (37:50):
But he's gonna come out with a sweatband and uh
a tank top.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Uh yeah probably and goggles. Yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:58):
By the way, you know you can buy Goggins goggles.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
I could buy what Dalton.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
Goggins no has his own line of goggles.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Well, it kind of makes sense, wouldn't it. You get
Goggins goggle.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
Sure, Yeah, they're pretty sweet.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Yeah. Like, if you're a guy named Ford, I should
be able to get a car from you.

Speaker 7 (38:13):
I think that might be the thing I start wearing,
because you never know when a Champagne Leyden's celebration is
gonna break out.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Yeah. So the Mavericks win tonight. They're in ninth place
in the West. There are a game under five hundred
two game lead right now on the Suns to make
it into the playing round, which point this could be
some kind of playing round Timberwolves, Clippers, Mavericks with a
D the Kings. But this goes back to what we
told you when the Luka Doncich trade came back right. Yes,

(38:43):
it's a risk all trades are risks, and I can't
believe the Mavericks gave away Luka.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
Doncic and they didn't get back. What did you want back?

Speaker 1 (38:52):
You weren't getting back anybody better than Anthony Davis, right,
you weren't.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
There was no other player.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
He's a thirty year old All NBA player, right, he
still has at least three really great years left.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
And you know he's as long.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
As he's healthy, he's gonna be able to contribute and
have games like this. You said you decided to move
on from Luka doncicch. Okay, let's get the best trade back.
You got an All NBA player. People forget. Oh yeah, well,
yes he does get hurt, but he has won a
championship before and he gives you games like this.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
You weren't.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
You got a great player in return, and if Kyrie
wasn't hurt, things didn't just fall apart. Look Out, man,
I'm telling you this Mavericks team next year with a
healthy Kyrie a healthy ad, watch what they can.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Do in the West.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
And now the money they're not spending on Luka doncicch
and three hundred million dollars to give him in this
offseason they'll be able to bring another star in and
the Mavericks will be terrific next year. Just trust me,

Speaker 3 (40:59):
