(00:51):
the biggest story of the night in the NBA Luka
Doncic's return to Dallas and could not have gone any
better for Luca. He goes for forty five points tonight
and the Lakers roll pasts the Mavericks one twelve ninety seven,
fifteen points in the first quarter. Emotional night for him.

(01:12):
He was crying during the tribute before the game. Had
a great big video tribute for him, and whenever he
did something the crowd went crazy for him. Wasn't like, hey, yeah,
now we gotta be no, no, no, we still love you, Luka.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
I mean really it was. It was some kind of night.
We knew it was coming, and you knew it was
going to be emotional, and it was still some kind
of night.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Thirty one points in the first half. To take you
over what the betting total was, it was thirty and
a half. But we did find out one very, very
huge pivotal thing tonight from this game. What's that That's
where Luca left his jump shoteah maybe seven to ten
from three point range en route to that forty five
point performance. You know what I didn't tell you guys

(01:53):
is that you know one thing Nico Harrison did for
me was expand the rims here in don if you
know that or not, but uh yeah, special rims for
me here. Uh look, it's a big night for him.
And oh, by the way, because we're not gonna forget
about this nice of the NBA to slip in the uh,
we are rescinding the technical foul that Luka Doncic got

(02:17):
in the fourth quarter of the Lakers loss to the
thunder last night. We're rescinding that and now tip off
of the return to Dallas game. Like, what a news
dump for the NBA to say, hey, we're rescinding that
to now. I get you got to say it, yeah,
but you know what, it took you all day to
do it. It took you right up until the point
where were what an hour from tip off? I think
when they said it was rescinded or an out ninety

(02:38):
minutes before tip off, was like, we moved it was
such a big deal, but now we got to move
past it because they're playing in Dallas tonight and now
it's a bit oh no, now we're gonna say yeah,
we uh yeah, we we screwed that up. We screwed
that up. Yeah, here's your official letter, cut paste print.
We'll send a hard copy through the mail and then
you can put up on the wall. I mean, it
does have some resonance, even if it doesn't allow us

(03:00):
to rewind the clock to seven forty remaining in the
fourth quarter of a hard fought game, one that we
were having a blast talking about here on Fox Sports Radio.
And then oh he had a blast talking about the attection.
Let's tell what it is viral video for us this morning.
Go find it off x or Instagram or wherever you
get your videos at. How about a fresca at Swollen

(03:20):
Dome at Fox Sports Radio. But it's also just the idea,
as you rescid, it is he's got fourteen on the
year and while you only have a couple more games
to go. Well, yeah, no, I've got fourteen on the year.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
No.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
But look, but the NBA is not going to admit
something unless they know they're wrong, right, And we told
you last night this was wrong. If you're going to
make a big deal of players playing in nationally televised
games and not sitting out when there's back to backs,
you got to make sure if you're going to throw
a star out it's for the right reason. And there was.
It was nothing but a knee jerk reaction from JT.

(03:55):
Snow from JT Or who threw Luca out because he
thought I was yelling at him, when clearly now everybody
knew he was yelling at the fan.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
They talked to the fan today, Yeah I was yelling
at Luca. So the NBA knows. They screwed up, and
we went and so now, okay.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
You rescinded.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
The tea doesn't help the Lakers last night? Does it
help them with a one point lead? And suddenly you
take out one of the top five players in the
game and Oklahoma City boat races them the rest of
the way. What I want to see now is what
do you do to the official? Let me see what
happens to Jake, Then let me see something proportionally to
j two.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I'm not saying you got to pull them out. I'm
not saying you have to have them show up and
then Scott Foster shows up, taps him on the shoulder
and says you're out. But there's got to be some
sort of ramifications for doing something like this, right, There's
no reason you can't hold officials to a higher standard.
Yet leagues, leagues feel like we just have to let

(04:48):
the officials do their thing or we worry about their integrity. No,
this is why they great officials. This is why some
of them get assignments that they do in the playoffs.
You can you can hold them to a higher standard. Hey, dude,
you can't just throw a guy out because you thought
he was yelling at you. And if you're gonna do that,
make sure that's what happened. There's no idea. It's a
big deal. It's the biggest call of the game where

(05:09):
I'm gonna throw somebody out or not. You can spend
a couple of minutes going back and looking at this.
So I want the NBA to say, Okay, here's the
ramifications for JT. Or he is suspended for a game,
he has fined this kind of money, whatever it is,
there's got to be because this is something that can't
go on. If you're gonna be that crazy about player,
you gotta make sure, Okay, if you're getting thrown out,
you're getting thrown out for a reason. And you know

(05:29):
that JT r at something against Luca last night. We
heard Jared Vanderbilt talk about it in the postgame press
conference at all. He said, I'll talk to anybody but
Luca after he gave him the first T. It's like, whoa, dude, whoa,
whoa whoa?

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Come on, man, you can't you can't come in here
with some sort of agenda against another player, right, And
Chris Paul is going, why.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Would no one stand up for me? Not even mention
Scott Foster. So uh, but but this is what I
want to see. Now a nice job. Always nice to
admit when you're wrong. But the NBA is there's got
to be some sort of ramifications and some sort of
responsibility because the Lakers will get an anything back. They
don't get that game back. They have to continue to Hey,
we got to bust our ass to get to the
three seed we want in the plays. We don't get

(06:06):
the last seven minutes of that game. We don't get
to go back and play the last seven and a
half minutes with Luca Dodget. So yeah, let me see
have some guts, grow a spine, Adam Silver and do
something and say, Okay, we got to make sure that
stuff like this doesn't happen. So JT or here comes
some sort of discipline for you that is proportional to it.
I'm not saying again, some sort that is proportional to
show you, Hey, we're on it. We're gonna make sure

(06:28):
stuff like this doesn't happen. Yeah. First, I didn't have
the biggest issue with the referee last night. Again, in
variants of opinion, I do agree that there needs to
be a way to remedy this if it means you've
got to hold up the game and make sure you're
all on the same page. What I think I heard
is actually what I heard. But what it really comes
down to is, now you need to plant some loud

(06:50):
ass tattooed jerk in the front rows. So when you're
screaming at the official you got a fall guy, Yeah,
oh I did it. Yeah, wait yew Jacker from way back,
come on, let's go. Aren't you Bryce James? Aren't you
lebron at No not meaning man, No, not me. That's
somebody else, somebody else, someone else? What else? Now? Because
now you're like, oh, you took the word of this guy. Yeah, Luca,

(07:14):
look at what the corroberaty Ya have had beef with
that guy before, and that's enough to rescind a technical
Hey let me see your face. Aren't you Spike Lee? Nobody, nobody,
not nobody told me. Nobody told Now there is a better,
a bigger moment for this for Luca to get to
Jason Smith, Mike Harmon again. Tonight was a very emotional game.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Right.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
It's a big word that we've been talking about. It's
a big word.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
It's a word we've been talking about a lot, because
you see, Luca is a very emotional player, and he
has always been that way, whether it's jawing at the
at the fans or something else.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Or he's an emotional guy.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Right.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
You knew coming in tonight he was going to have
a big first quarter. He was going to take all
the shots, which he did and he scored fifteen. You
knew it was a big deal for him. And here
he is.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
After the game talking about what it felt like, the
swing of emotions. Uh, playing in front of the crowd,
where he was happy, he was sad. He went through
the whole gamut in this game.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
It was a little bit of both, you know, happy
and angry. But you know, it's nice to see some
familiar faces here. You know, I spent a lot of
times with them. Like you said, you know, it was
a lot of emotions. When I woke up, I was
tired and I didn't sleep much. I'm excited about this game,
and you know, I really appreciate the fence, the way
they reacted to to me.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Good to see you, Michael Finley. I'm chugging this beer now.
So But because it's not just all uh yeah, here
you go, man, you deserve it. Oh he gets old
now Now, I don't care what you drink. Here you
go be giving you what over here here vape whatever
you want, man take all of it? Or is it
like the Budweiser zero They for the goalies that didn't
give up a goal to u O Vechkin in their

(08:47):
careers and face the shot now they Michael Finley gets
a commemorative beer. I'll give you a beer, but it
better be a light or a zero, just so you know.
But there is Look, there is a teachable moment here
right because I show you this.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
This is the kind of c we have in our
bag here. Is that what we talked about last night
with Luca. As you can see, yes, emotional yelling at
the fan, emotional tonight, and and that affects his performance.
And if I'm JJ Reddick who loves me, right, if
I'm JJ Reddick who loves me, I sit Luca down
and I say, hey, listen, okay, I'm being serious. I

(09:21):
go listen, I know some kind of last couple of
nights for you, right, And we go we talk about
what happened against the Thunder and I'm glad that the
NBA went back. You know, you were talking to the fan.
It was ridiculous at that that that that that guy
teed you up, and then tonight you saw you know,
I could tell you were going on vapors and getting
by on adrenaline an energy, and you had forty five
and I thought you were gonna.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Get fifty or sixty. It really is something. But let
me tell you, you gotta find a way to keep your
emotions in check just so you don't throw it open
for observation or open for a referee to tee you
up or give you a foul that maybe you you
don't want to like. Okay, we don't need to look

(10:03):
right now. It was okay.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
You know, you got to make sure that you don't
give the officials a reason to call you for a
loose ball foul because you're jawing at them. That you
don't give them a reason to give you a tech
that you didn't earn. Because again, if this happens in
game three of the Western of the second round of
the playoffs, we don't get that game back. So it
is a teachable moment to say, listen, you're still young,
still twenty five years old. It's great that you play

(10:28):
with emotion, but you have to kind of be a
pro now and understand that what you do with with
decisions like that, there's consequences.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
You can yap with the fans if you want to,
but look what happened that killed us last night, right,
not your fault, not your fault, but you left it
open for that to happen. So just understand that you
got your emotions a little bit. Hey, you wear them
on your sleeve.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
I don't want to change the guy you are, but
sometimes just be a little cognizant of the situation you're in.
You had already picked up a technical foul. You knew
that the official was mad at you. You're yelling at
a guy the official is standing right there. Was that
really the smartest thing to do? And Luca would say, no,
you're probably right, okay and all. And I don't mean
it's not about technicals. It's hey, if you're jawn at
the official, you're emotional, you're mad about something. If you're

(11:13):
letting a fan you know, wind you up and rile
you up, and then suddenly you get a foul call
against you that you're not, you disagree with, and you
blow up at the official because suddenly you were cooking
about something that didn't have anything to do with this,
he's gonna tee you up, he's gonna give you the
reach and foul and maybe that's four on you and
you got to come out of the game. Just understand
you can't always do that.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
And you got it. You gotta watch moments like that.
That's it's it's a very teachable moment for Luca as well.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Well.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
I mean we've seen it, certainly you coaching softball and
certainly soccer. I've watched it for years, the retaliatory I
didn't get a call and now I'm gonna go chase
as a defender, and what do you do. You run
right through the player that's got the ball, and you
could see it coming from a mile away. It's like, yep,
all right, here comes a fall in three two. And
even if they only get a little bit of contact,

(11:59):
it doesn't matter if he's way come back because he
sees it coming. Same thing when when you do that
on an NBA court, And and for Luca, it's the
old rule of thumb. Never let it go to the judges.
Don't give them an inch to take you out of
your headspace, out of your game. And he's not the
only one. Plenty of emotional player and that's that's what
makes him great. Right the guys that wear the you know,

(12:20):
put the giant chip on their shoulder as a badge
of pride. It works. But for Luca dact certainly, he
tries to thread that needle a bunch, And is why
if he's if he's your guy, and it goes to
the age older. We were talking about this a little
bit yesterday. Uh, if he's your guy, you love him, Yeah,
all right, if you love him. If he's the opponent,
you hate him because he's that good. And he winds

(12:42):
the officials and he gets back and forth and it's like, oh,
there he is yelling again. It's why you hate Tom Brady.
It's the way you're not anymore. I mean there was
a time, yes, but I'm pass that now. I think
it's fully dissipating. I moved on to other players. I
don't like I moved on. I can't hold on. But
he had you don't have anything in the division, Yeah
I do. I got I gotta worry about jo, I

(13:02):
gotta worry about Josh. I gotta worry about Vrabel. Now,
come on, man, I got stuff to worry about. Josh.
Allen's got Hailey Steinfeld. That's gonna keep you at day.
I wouldn't even watch any of her movies now, for
Dar'm not gonna watch Pitch Perfect three. Why would I
watch that? That's the worst one.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
You know, it's funny you say that because I always
tell my teammates to spend there's a you know, any
any Benny, any girl, any girls that I coach that
I say the same thing. Okay, if you really, when
you really get mad, you gotta have the five second.
There was one girl who's a great pitcher, and if
and if she was getting squeezed, like I could see
it on her face, I would say five second rule.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
As she goes what was that?

Speaker 3 (13:37):
I said, you get the ball back, be as mad
as you want for five seconds, and then let it
go and get back and.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
For just that where you actually have a pitch clock
to let it, let it, let it disabate. And there's
different ways to trust people with that, like there is.
Oh you want a great story, So we were playing
in it. We had a tournament and this is to
get to the finals. We had to get to the
finals of this tournament. And one of my best scorers
just got absolutely railroaded by one of their defenders because

(14:03):
we were winning, like we were winning one nothing. It
was a real chippy game and it was and the
officials completely missed it. And I'm like, oh my good,
I can I said, how could you miss it? She
got absolutely railroad and she's a really tough kid. She
was a great scorer, and they weren't really doing anything
against us, but it was still a one nothing game.
And she looked at me after the play and she
goes coach, and I could see the look in her eyes,
and I said, okay, come here. I said, just don't

(14:26):
get thrown out. I'm gonna trust you. Just don't get
thrown out. And she said okay. Next play, ball was
down in the corner. She went in, got side to
side with her and then just absolutely blew her off
her feet. And the referee called a foul and gave
them the ball. But okay, like you did it, you
did it the right way. You didn't do something. You
got from behind her. It's like, okay, maybe a little bit,

(14:48):
you know, but the ball was still right there.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
And I said that, I looked at it. I said okay,
and she said and she said to me and she's
thirteen years old. I says, thank you for trusting me,
and I was like, you got it. I said, don't
do any more now, I said, we're done. Now, we're
done now right, Yeah, yeah, we're done. I said, okay,
go score a goal.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
And then she looked it and she pointed girl playing
the next position over. I still have video of that, Like,
I talked to her dad a lot.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
Dad.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
We still I still watch that video once a while.
You guys, I still can't believe, because what did you
say to her? What you sid said? I told her,
I said, just don't get thrown out. So thank you
for trusting me that I told him.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
That was it. I said, Okay, okay, okay, I mean
so I get it. I get having to let the
emotion out, but you have to be cognizant that, Okay,
what's the situation of this game, and seven minutes to
go in a game you need against a number one
seed in the West, maybe that's not the time to
sit back and say, Okay, I'm gonna just be real
freewheeling it by yelling at people.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Right, Like again, I can't. I don't blame because he
wasn't yelling at the ref but when when certain It's
like I said, a teachable moment about Hey, in the future,
understand that if we're down twenty and or we're up
twenty five and you wanted to okay, great, but not
when it's a nip tuck game and we're that's not the.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Time to do it. Yeah, I mean to take it
to the law your scale. Remember as you text things
to people, Uh, they can't infer tone. They certainly can't
read sarcasm, et cetera. It's the same thing like the
official in this case, does he know one hundred percent
you're not yelling at him?

Speaker 4 (16:14):
No?

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Yeah, which is why you get teed up, right, But
that's why. That's why are we Yeah, that's why. But
again that's why the NBA. Now I said, we're going
to do our part and say, Okay, this can't happen.
So here's some sort of punishment, some sort to make
sure we Hey, we're doing our part too, because that
was ridiculously stupid. When it happens, Luca with your mouth,
don't hit send exit out about a Fresco exit Swallen Dome.

Doll in a moment. But joining us now on a
hot line, nobody better for all the latest news and
the National Football League Lifetime NFL Insider check him out

(18:10):
of the thirty third team. It is Jason Cole. He
is on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. That I
just found out the number Jason Cole sixty two because
it was the average of his test scores when he
was at Stanford. How about that? So that's why Jason
Cole sixty two. Now what's happening?

Speaker 4 (18:28):
Man?

Speaker 1 (18:28):
How are you? We've got robot Jason Cole. Yeah, well
maybe maybe it's sixty two percent the connection rate from
his phone to us here. That's at sixty two That
sounds about on Twitter? Uh, j cole ganis let's try it.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Out you guys. Okay, yeah, no, you out like.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Jets.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
So dude, we mean come again, is that what we're saying?

Speaker 1 (19:01):
No, No, no, I think it's not better now. You
said you sound better now?

Speaker 4 (19:04):
All right?

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Tysher, don't don't play the music. Love this song. Don't
play the music that might be messing the connection. Stop.
Don't play that. Don't play the song. Don't play the music.
All right? You know what I mean? How are you, buddy?
You're good?

Speaker 4 (19:21):
I'm great. What's going on?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
We're great. We're getting ready for the draft. We're watching
Jadora Sanders allegedly fall through the NFL draft like he's
Aaron Rodgers. I mean, I mean a lot of stuff
to watch here.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
I think Sanders was never really that high pick to
begin with, and that we all just assumed that who's
going to go that high in the draft? I do
always love the whole people follow in the draft. It's like, no, no,
here's never that high to begin with. Teams were basically

(19:55):
telling the idea that he is going to go that high. Look,
Chadura is a good quarterback. He's not what everybody thinks
just because he's Dion's kid. And I think he's a
pretty average player. I mean, and when you watch him, boy,

(20:16):
do I get a real sense of Jameis Winston. I
really do. I got a real sense of Yeah, there's
some talent there. I just don't think that it's going
to be something really truly special.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Well, hey, Jameis Winston does what very few people could do.
He keeps both teams in the game, Jacole. I mean
it's one thing to have to do to lead your
team to victory, but to lead your team to potential
victory while you keep the other team in line for
potential victory, that's a lot to do.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
If you count all of the touchdown passes that Damos
Winston has thrown, including the ones to the other team,
he's probably on He's probably on pace for the NFL
record for keet.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Okay, the countdown countdown to Peyton, right, we just keep
asking him out. No, that counts, but it was to
the other team. No, if that counts, it's a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (21:10):
It's Brady. But that's okay. Yeah, it's countdown to Braiders. Yeah,
we get.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
The antithesis of thing. Okay, So if I said to you,
cam Ward will go in the top two, maybe number
one overall is Shador Sanders. The next guy off the
board is Jackson Dart. The next guy off the board, like,
where's the next quarterback?

Speaker 4 (21:32):
Go? No, I think it's quarterback come off the board.
But I think it's like fifteen, maybe twenty. I just
I just have this suspicion that it's it's gonna it's
gonna take a while because he's just he's a good player,

(21:57):
and and he's not great. I mean he's I mean,
he doesn't have an overwhelming arm, he doesn't have great strength.
He's pretty accurate, you know, he's not great in the pocket.
He's you know, he's not traffic. But I mean, but

(22:19):
that's to say that he still easily can be a
first round pick. Like I'm not saying he's a bad player,
it's just he's not what everybody thinks he is. I mean,
cam Ward, I always come back to this of a
scout that I have a tremendous amount of respect for
thinks that Shador is the second round pick on talent

(22:40):
and thinks cam Ward is a third round pick. So
I think that you know, now, I think that Ward
is going to go much higher, and he's the guy
that everybody wants. But I think that this is just
one of the great overrated player, you know, players, just
because we've got to have quarterbacks to talk about. That's
just how the draft. I mean to me, it reminds

(23:01):
me a lot of here that E. J. Manuel and
Jane Smith came out that Gino has had a nice careers.
That's a good you know, it's a good, solid player,
but he's not is not a overwhelming by any stretch
of the imagination.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Yeah, glad I didn't spend a lot on trading cards
in twenty thirteen. That's for sure. No premium there all right,
So since offensive linemen are particularly sexy to talk about
on radio in this format, how about everybody got all
excited about the running backs. I tried to point out
the fact that the three guys you celebrated moving we
actually went to really good teams. But is it possible

(23:39):
that we actually see two guys drafted early in this draft?

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Here? J Cole, I think that I've guys in this
draft and who are capable of going in the first
round at running back. So yeah, how about that? Now?
I think I think that they will drift because that's
just a nature that the and so you're really probably
only only going to get too. But I think it's

(24:05):
those guys as the strength of the draft. Those are
the premium players in this draft. Are those guys. I
mean so that that's what should happen, is was normal,
But you know, the draft does get weighted on need,
so running backs inevitably fall, but that those drafts are

(24:28):
the best, the best ones in this in this draft,
no question about it. Yeah, I think you are?

Speaker 1 (24:35):
You still there? We got I gotta ask you because
I'm pretty serious now, is this too much serious football
talk for you?

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Like, like if we not talked enough about the Cowboy
Bees and and and and Jets and and all kinds
of because if we need some of that, I feel
because you've been really serious the last few minutes.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
I don't know why. I just I guess because I
don't really I don't know why it is.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
You've been listening to angsty music listen and the lou
Reed sit at home with headphones on going. Yeah, just
one of those dirty boulevard Just one of those days.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
It really is one of those days. I guess because
I don't like making fun of I don't like making
fun of guys in the in the draft process. You
know it, There's something there's something about it, like once
you get into the league, you're sort of fair game
before that, Like I kind of I kind of I

(25:31):
kind of feel bad for guys having to go through
this process because it's so it's so brutal, and I
don't know, maybe maybe i'm so that's that's that's possible.
Like for me, like this is this is the one
level where I breakdown and I'm mum, that's really unusual
for me because I'm not I'm really not that nice person.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
All right, Well, that'll help you out here little because
I feel and you know what you you help us,
I'll help you out here, you know. Few weeks I
saw him talk today about how is benching last year
changes perspective. Justin Field's very excited. I'm thinking dark Horse
wildcard for the Jets.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
That's that's that's my mind. I'm thinking dark Horse wild
card and it's going to be something when they win
more games this year than the last two years. With
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
They never dies, really never dies. It's just it's a disease.
It really, that's true. It's it's it's it's almost as
bad as being a Cowboys fan, but in the taste
of being a Cowboys fan, it's it's it's really like

(26:40):
you're being taken advantage of. It's like it's like we
when you keep convincing your children that there is a
Santa Claus. That's what cowboys fans are. Jets fans are
just like they should know better, they really should know better,
but they still want to believe. Like That's that's why

(27:02):
Fireman head keeps coming back again and again and again.
You know here, he should know better, he should know
better than the half to get I think the l
j TuS like screaming Jets test. He shouldn't have He
shouldn't do that anymore. He should just let it go.
But somehow he's alluded himself into it. But it's not

(27:24):
you know, but cowboys fans are really I guess they're
the ones who are children. They're the ones believing in
Santa Claus.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Well, just so you know, I tell all the players
I'm Santa Claus. I come down the chimney. They get
their Christmas game checks. I go back up and and
we go from house to house, and Pad Dasher and
Dancer and Prancer and Tony Romo and Comment and Cuban.
We go and everybody everybody gets their checks. I think
I gotta slide right down in the chimney because I'm
fit enough. I get all the way down to the bottom,

(27:51):
had a little bit of eggnog, and then get back in,
Get back up, get backed up to the slid.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
That's right, honey too. It's a it's a great stuck
al mool Bees produced. You put that weights down with it.
So you gotta have used the nails. You can't. You
gotta got go nails hold it up there. You can't.

(28:16):
Sometimes it don't just come right out because the honey,
it's so many much heavier that. That's what you gotta do.
You gotta use nails on the on the on that man.
But just but don't don't be big holes because you
have hey repair all that stuff with the toothpaste everything
like that, you know what I'm saying. And that painted
over again and then it just looks you know, it

(28:38):
just looks bad. You don't want to happen. He is a.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Hallmark movie nfl anast sprapped up in one. He's ready
when that Bill's holiday movie coming this this fall.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Come on.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
He's on Twitter at Chasing call sixty two as always money,
thanks so much, we'll talk to you next week. Have
fun see about it. Yeah, it was really serious. You
gotta seriously, you were gonna ask him if he needed
a Jerry Jones actually figure saying, am I I mean seriously?
It's like wow, okay, I wait and my way is terrible? Hey,

(29:11):
I Jerry Jones. The gift the giff uh eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox is the phone number Jason
Smith Mike Carman Live from the diag dot com studios.
UH time now to find out what's trending in the
wide world of sports from someone who's been called the
Tony Romo of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (29:28):
Did I did I fumble a field goal? Snap?

Speaker 4 (29:31):
What did I do?

Speaker 1 (29:31):
She walks up and down the hallways, going, Jim Jim Jim,
just see that, Jim Jim, Jim Jim Jim. That was great.
Jim Jim. You don't do the masses anymore, Jim Jim.
I didn't know that, Jim Jim. What are you done? Jim?
Jim Jim? What about the final sport? Jim Jim? Who
should I take him? I poll Jim Jim. I took
Saint John's Jim was up good? Jim Jim Jim? Oh,
I should have taken Saint John's Jim word for word.

(29:53):
That's Monsey up in the very excitable that is true,
has a lot of energy.

Speaker 6 (29:58):
These are all true things, guys, that are happening. Let's
check in on the NBA right now.

Speaker 7 (30:02):
At halftime, the Clippers are topping the Rockets seventy one
to fifty eight. Late in the third quarter, the Kings
are losing to the Nuggets at home, eighty four to
sixty eight. Nikola jokicch ten points, eight rebounds, nine assists.
The thunder have a seventy six to sixty nine lead
over the Suns early in the third quarter, and with
about five minutes to go in the third, the Warriors
are topping the Spurs seventy nine, seventy five to sixty eight.

(30:25):
Excuse me, but another you know, historic game season for
Steph Curry, however you want to look at it.

Speaker 8 (30:31):
Curry has the rebounds, Curry stops on a dime, shoots
the three half time, another one. Curry is third trifle
all the night, and that makes you three hundred for
the sixth consect, sixth time in his illustrious career.

Speaker 7 (30:46):
You just heard on the game Warriors radio network. So
another three hundred threes for the season for Steph Curry.
He's got twenty one points and six rebounds, also giving
a shout out to the Trailblazers.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
In the Jazz for not winning on the season.

Speaker 7 (31:00):
I'm just saying, nobody cares about this game and they
went to overtime.

Speaker 6 (31:03):
Nobody wanted to lose.

Speaker 7 (31:04):
They probably put on a good show for the fans
that are watching, you know what I'm saying, Like one
thirty three twenty.

Speaker 6 (31:09):
Six had just ended. Utah wins it.

Speaker 7 (31:11):
But it's like nobody wanted to watch this game, and
here you gave the crowd a good fight.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
You know, figure out where there are milestones and incentives
in their contra No, no, no, no, just right. The
real reason you brought this up is you bet the
over in that game. You bet the over, and I
want to say something nice about these teams. I bet
the Oh I took the over.

Speaker 6 (31:33):
Oh God, imagine if I did. Why would I bet
on that.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
Game because it was on the schedule.

Speaker 7 (31:39):
I don't know it on the schedule, slim pickets, It
was an opportunity.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Why would you spend so much time talking about this
game unless you bet the over? And what that? Right now?

Speaker 6 (31:48):
One game's still going on in baseball. I think the
Birds may have just hit a grand slam based.

Speaker 7 (31:53):
On the score seventeen one, seven to two against the
Rockies in Colorado top the ninth inning.

Speaker 6 (32:00):
So here comes the comeback from the Rockies.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Did this one too?

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Did not? I did not.

Speaker 7 (32:07):
Trey Turner did hit the go ahead and game winning
home run in the end for the Phillies. They beat
the Braves in Atlanta four to three, the Ray's edge
the Angels five to four, and the Dodgers avoided the
sweep of the Nationals.

Speaker 6 (32:19):
They came out on top today six to five. A
little NFL news for you guys.

Speaker 7 (32:23):
According to Jordan's Schultz, who is our Fox Sports NFL insider,
Colorado quarterbacks to Door Sanders is going to visit the
Raiders early next week. Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Have to say about that.

Speaker 6 (32:35):
Maybe they're talking about it at Starbucks.

Speaker 7 (32:38):
Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is going to be limited in
OTA's following off season surgery on his non throwing shoulder,
and police recalled to the home of Dolphins wide receiver
Tyreek Hill on Monday afternoon for what was described as
a domestic dispute between him and his wife. No Chargers
were filed in the matter, and the Dolphins are saying
that they're looking into the situation.

Speaker 6 (32:57):
Back to you guys, thanks.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
A bunch of monsters. Oh yeah, you take that melon
burst iced energy and you stick it where the sun
don't shine. Oh yeah, you take your tropical citrus injuiced
ice energy. And he was, Oh, now we're gonna fight
here at Starbucks. Okay, okay, did I not turn this
into more monetization? Come on, thang you Monseley coming up next,
maybe the most impressive thing Caitlin Clark has done in

(33:22):
her basketball career?

Speaker 4 (33:24):
What is it?

Speaker 1 (33:25):
It's next Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app The.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon live from the tire
rack dot Com Studios. We'll get back into Luca and
his night coming up in about ten minutes. But I'm
not lying when I say what just was unearthed today
about Caitlin Clark maybe the most impressive thing she's done

(33:59):
in her and this is someone who what she's been
able to accomplish all time leading scorer in NCAA history,
becoming the the magic and Larry it rolled into one
for the WNBA.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
What she's done for the w I mean, she is
the biggest, most nova of superstars. But she does an
interview with David Letterman and for Netflix and talks about
her career. You know, David Letterman's from Indiana and all
kinds of fun stuff, and she talks about this game
that has kind of taken on its own legendary status

(34:34):
of when she was a sophomore, the team scrimmaged against
a bunch of men, you know, eighteen to twenty five,
you know, young men, and she went absolutely insane in
the scrimmage and at one point scored like twenty points
in the two minutes span. And she talked about this
with Letterman saying, yeah, I scored like twenty two points
like a two minute span. It was and gave me
the the the the confidence to shoot from anywhere on

(34:57):
the floor. And it's been this game that we've heard
heard about for a while. And then today video of
this game gets on Earth wherever it was. Finally we
get to see video and I can't tell you the
number of shots she makes from just inside half court,
falling down on one leg. Every shot is the most

(35:19):
heat of heat checks. And they're going in and she's
got one defender on hers. Get look, it's a it's
a pickup game, practice type deal. So it's not like, hey,
we're gonna have two people on you trying to bring
the ball across half court.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
And it's still it's up and down the floor. But
she's still hitting shots from just inside half court. I mean,
falling down thirty feet from the basket, throws it up swish.
I mean again, seeing all the highlights, all the things
she's been able to do on a basketball court, there
is nothing like this. You would think that this is
this is this isn't Really it's a bunch of AI

(35:51):
showing you all of these made baskets by Caitlin Clark
and if it does turn have to be AI aha.
But like that's it. You see, like there's no way
these that she's making all of these shots, there's no way.
And she's hit it dribbling up two dribbles in from
half court, launching it, falling down, launching it, faking and
coming back around not even really square to the basket
three goes in. I watch them going, this is this

(36:15):
is absolutely crazy. This is the most physically the most
impressive thing I've ever seen her do on a basketball court.
And she has done so many great things on a
basketball What's been funny about it? Right, It's that urban
legend that you speak of. It's kind of like all
the old Hey, these guys played this squad and there
was but there's no video of it. So it becomes

(36:36):
this this thing of just storytelling like the old times.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Yeah, Jimmy the famous Jimmy Butler game with the Tea
Wolves when he jumped in before he got traded from there,
about how pist he was and trying to teach leadership
the big what was it the dream team against the
college kids?

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Right they were losing. Yeah, so that you know, different fights,
different whatever. With this he starts see in the video
and look, I was entertained as hell with the alternate
broadcast that she joined during the National title game was
far more entertaining than the game was itself in that
second half as Yukon and Carl Frederickson just absolutely steamrolled

(37:16):
down Staley in the South Carolina game Cocks. But we
look at for Caitlin Clark. It's we and it's the
great tease to this season ahead. Right, we're a couple
of days away from the draft and then we start
getting right back into the process of getting back on
a court. So it's a it's a perfect thing with
David Letterman here to whoever found this, whoever had it

(37:39):
on file, And it's nice going into year two that
you still have some of this myth building that can
be done. Not okay, now, can't she win? It's like no, no,
let's let's rewind and again, let's show you how great
she is. And it's like circus shots many Hey watch
this trick shot event. See want think people are gonna realize. Okay,

(38:02):
I just sound stupid when I try to put other
players alongside her as how great they are. Right when Lebron.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
James came into the league, We're not going, yeah, you
got Lebron's great, but remember dark o' millicic is great too.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
You gotta say dark O. Gotta say Darko's name, right,
got you sold, Anthony, that's not the mellow coming up.
Melo's coming off the National That's what I mean. I
didn't care about his pro career. He won the national
title for us astand that no one, no one is her,
no one is hurt, no one is as good as her,

(38:35):
no one has the talent she has, no one but
to be fair. Also, you know, coming off of this
title run and the final four, and I mean they
still had really good numbers, but it just shows you
what a different animal, a different game was being played
by the casuals that were tuned in for Caitlin Clark
a year ago. Yeah. I mean, eventually you're gonna realize

(38:58):
and you're gonna hear all the haters and people in
WNBA that are jealous are gonna go I just really
sound stupid. I'm just not gonna say anything anymore. And
I'm gonna be happy that everything she does helps us,
you know, whether it's charter flights or more money, more
TV revenue. Thanks Caitlin, appreciate it. They're talking about getting
their own CBA, breaking off from the NBA, all of
that coming up next. What did Lucas say following his

(39:20):
