Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Hello, Welcome inside
our three Jason.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Smith Show with my bass friend Mike Harmon, live from
the tiraq dot com studios tyrack dot com and help
you get there an unmatched election, fast free shipping, free
road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers tirack
dot com.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
He is the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Uh. So we'll get to a there is a story
from today, big stories from today and sports that everybody
can understand and appreciate. But you want to know the
coolest moment in sports tonight?

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Right?

Speaker 2 (00:38):
And I watch this now like coolest, Yes, it's like
five or six times, and it's just fantastic.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Right.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
So Alex Ovechkin when he broke Wayne Gretzky's record on
Sunday against the Islanders, did the big run, the big
skate in the dive, right, and he slid to celebrate
goal number eight ninety five.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
It was really really cool.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
And you know, he breaks the record and now he's
got great thing said about him by Gretzky. So tonight
this is the night that I was initially scared at him,
like of course he's gonna mail it in on Sunday.
He doesn't want to get Gretzky's record, you know, against
the Islanders on the road. He wants to do it
at home against the Hurricanes, right of course. And I
gotta watch my team get posterized for the rest of
my life because they're gonna play this thing forever.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
But thank you to the to the Capitals for doing it. Then.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
So tonight, you know, they played the Hurricanes, they wind
up winning in overtime in a shootout, and then the
big tonight was a big night to celebrate Ovechkin's goal.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Well, you know how they have at games that if
you go to a.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Hockey game, in between there's always some kind of entertainment
in between periods.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Sometimes it's, hey, you.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Can shoot a puck in past this, you know, from
center ice in this little area.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
You win ten thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
But the most fun thing is when they have the
kid the kid teams play and you get the pee
weee hockey teams to get out and they get to
play on the ice for a few minutes before they
they they wind up bringing the zamboni's out right. It's
always a really fun thing to see. It's like, you know,
twenty kids on each team. Is they're just skating up
and down. It's really fun. Well sure, you know, they
get to play for about five or seven minutes and

(02:06):
then the zamboni comes out and there's video of this
and it's just absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Uh. The whistle blows for the end of the for
the end of.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
The game where the pee wee kids play, and they
all end by by by you know, running by skating
and doing the Ovechkin dive and it's just they all
of them just skate and dive and they all do
it like basically is one, like all within like two
seconds of each other, and it's just fantastic. Like they're
all doing the OV dive to end this now, just

(02:37):
watching going, oh man, what a great moment that is.
I mean, that kid's gonna say, yeah, I got to
do that, And then we all did the OV dive
at the end right after he broke, like kids that
grow up in Washington playing yeah, yeah, I got to
do the OV dive.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Like just just such a cool moment to see that, man,
I'll tell you.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Yeah, I mean we've seen it, seen it, maybe experienced it. Right,
My kid molded child did dance for a while, and
they perform down a Clippers game and all of those things.
Those are memories you can't take away. And certainly the
Ovechkin dive a thing of lore, commemorated all over.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
And today out of that, I mean, I love the
kid video.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
I really liked when they were doing the little presentation
and they tried to give Ovechkin's kid these mini gold sticks,
and they were very skeptical of them.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
They would not go over to the guy who was
trying to hand him.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
He's like, go ahead, go ahead, And even one of
the teammates came over and grabbed him and tried to
hand him, and they're looking at him like it's a trap.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I'm not getting on of my involvement. I don't think so. No,
I'm out. I'm out and dead dead Is this okay?
So yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Check it out on Solcio. A great moment. You see
this just skate and they just slide head first. It's fantastic.
It's messed. I could say, a tradition unlike any other,
but instead a story unlike any other that you and
I can commiserate with today at the Masters.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
All right, I don't have to do it like that.
Day one of the Masters.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
We talked about Freddy Couples earlier in the show and
what a great story he was, you know, be under
part today.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Can we do that as the most overdone sports tradition though? Jason, Yes, Yeah,
comusic slow the music and the voice thing eight seven
seven nine.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
No, just like.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Eventually somebody's gonna become a play by play announcer for
golf and they're just gonna be insane that people are
gonna say, oh, this is great.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
I don't mind that he's yelling, you know, I don't
mind he's yelling.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Tiger Woods from fifteen feet away. If he mitsed this,
tiger Woods will wind up tied tiger Woods.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
There it is a.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Like, I mean, really we could have that in well,
I mean you can, but you can put them in
a little sound dampening thing they can still be on.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
So you can't do a tower. You're the big How
many people are gonna hear you? Just oh, oh.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Like, just put put Dick vie Tal in the booth
for just a couple of an hour and it'll be great.
Look at you. I love that, And there it is.
I'm in Yes, from fifteen feet away he has grabbed
a share of the lead. Why did I give me
a put a little rock and roll in there.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Man.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
It doesn't need to be all waste management open. But
I mean, like, you know, it's okay if you have
an an announcer that's excited.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah, you have that, It's all right. I I concur
give me some juice, and.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Then you could have and then you could have the
analyst who instead of saying, looks like this is good.
You know, he hit a two iron from here yesterday
and wound up about fifteen feet short of the pin.
You gotta wonderful. Maybe maybe he uses a one iron
on this, I'll tell you. He said it's not been
very consistent with his one iron over the course of
the last couple of months. I remember he put one
in the creek in Hartford a couple of months ago.

(05:53):
And instead you have a you know, one of the
great like like like Tony Romo going.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Jim, Jim, Jim, what coup is he gonna use? Jim?
I don't no, Jim, Jim.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
You know what I would use because I play golf, right, Jim, Jim,
I got a great JPX Mizuno club.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Chim.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
It's a Recovery Club, Chim Chip, and I can hit it.
Oh my good, Jim. I got out of trouble the sandtrap,
I got out of trouble in the woods out Chip,
Chip Chip. This would be fine, Jim. If he hits
that club, we great, Jim, Jim, Jim. Yeah, Well, I'm
telling you, it'd be just a new way to do golf,
completely new way to do golf.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Completely in I mean, they've already got the live tour.
Let's have the live announcers.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah, the live.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Tour that now everybody is talking about like they don't
even know it still exists anymore.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
So do Jose Louis Ballister.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Is a twenty one year old amateur who plays at
Arizona State. And you heard Isaac Lowen Cron bring this
up earlier in the show. He was in need of
a bathroom break. He said he forgot there were bathrooms
just to the left of the t box on the
thirteenth hole, so he ran down to the tributary to
Ray's Creek and relieved himself while his partner was putting

(06:57):
out on the twelfth green. Here's Ballister from earlier today
talking about his trip to the creek and then his
trip back up.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Well, I completely forgot that we have those Russians from
the left of the tea box.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Oh okay, yes.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Correct, And then I'm like, I really need a pee.
I didn't really know where to go, and since Jadi
had an issue around their game, I'm like, okay, I'm
just gonna sneak here under river. Probably the people would
not see me that much, and then they caught for me.
Probably one of the clubs that I really got today,
like real oued So that was that was kind of funny.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Yeah, the club form. Hey great, hey you Pete. That's great.
That's great, that's great. Hey, yeah, very nice, very nice,
very nice way to make it happen.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Now, look, I I know that there is a look,
I'm sure the decorum of the matches are gonna be.
He relieved himself on the course. He will never play
here again.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Uh No, when you have to go, you have to go.
I get it.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
We've all been in that where I just I just
have to go and I don't care what happens, but
I have to go to the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I completely got it.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
And you know, you do your best and as long
as you know you'd responsible to look around is anybody looking?

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Is anybody looking? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone? Fry? Oh, okay, we're
good as long as you do your best. Make sure
no one's looking. Go to the bathroom.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Okay, I understand, it's the masters, it's a tradition unlike
any other.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
I think you can go to the bathroom. Every whole counts.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
I mean, come on, So if you're uncomfortable and you
still got to wait another hole before you can get
to it, come on, now, boy.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
He's playing really last today. I wonder why with this
pace is how is he gonna play at this pace?
And I really had to go to the bathroom?

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Is he participating in a speed walking tournament in five k?
Cutting up here next next week? But yeah, everybody's had
it right. You keep the extra giant water bottle in
the car, especially if you're in traffic. You don't know,
I mean, crazy things happen, clearly. I mean there's a
lot of potential legalities that get into it. Sure, sure,

(08:55):
I mean you can always claim euromceatsis like they did
on side felt.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
That may not hold up in a court of law,
but you can try.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
I remember, and you know I always default to this
when I think about going to the bathroom. When my
wife and I first started dating, right, the first the
first game we.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Ever went to together was this movie.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
But we met at ESPN in the in the early
mid nineties, and you know, she's Michigan fans, Like, okay,
So Michigan was playing Boston College like opening week or
week two of the of the of the college football season, right,
I remember Scott drives Back was the quarterback for UK
at for Michigan, I think, I think Will Hartzell was.
Mark Hartzel was the quarterback for for Boston College. We

(09:39):
go to go to the game and and this is
and really, I mean really, I mean it's gonna seem
like it's a bad moment for BC because I'm gonna
talk about how bad the bathrooms are and BU was
playing to go to the Frozen four National Championships.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
So uh.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
But we go to the game and the stadium is beautiful.
BC at Boston College is beautiful, and Michigan gets the
ball back right before the half, and I'm like, oh,
I really have to go to the bathroom, but I
want to stay and see if they drive down. So
I stay, and they drive down, they kick a field goal,
with like three seconds left to go on the half, right,
and now like the BC Stadium Alumni Alumni field is

(10:13):
like it's like forty thousand people, right, it's a football statum.
I'm like, okay, I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I
can't tell you every single bathroom. I went to the
men's line. Why the time I got there right, because
I should have went. I should have said, why do
I care if Michigan kicks a field But I was stupid.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Oh, I'm gonna stay. It's here to kick a field goal.
And so I wait and.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I go, and the line for the men's room right now,
And usually you go to a sporting event, the line
for the women's rooms, You're like, oh, thank goodness, I'm
not a woman.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Man. I'm glad. I just walk right in, go to
the bathroom, come out.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
The line for the men's room was was it would
it would? It would snake out like fifty sixty people long.
And I'm trying to go from different I go, oh
my god, I can't go here.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
I can't go here, Like, how.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Is every men's room a line of like fifty people
and the line is not really moving. I don't understand so,
and I mean, I'm a little hazy on it now
because I don't know that everyone actually went inside the bathroom,
which tells you where the story is going.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
I'm like, I don't understand like it might.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
This must have been the worst bathroom situation at a
stadium ever, right Boston. I've never been to a stadium
where I've had had that type of situation waiting to
go to the bathroom. So I'm at this point, I'm cramping,
I'm tigo. I really I don't know what to do.
I don't know what to do. And and it got
so bad where and the way the stadium was was
on the concourse, you're walking around the stadium. You would

(11:28):
walk around the concourse like you're walking out to go
get something to eat, and it like it's like I say,
you're walking around the stadium. On the left was where
all the concessions are, and on the right side was
this was the stands. And where we were sitting, there
was an empty area to to the to the side
where there were the stands were, because that's where the
stands went down. So there was like a like a

(11:48):
a triangle area where you could walk a certain way
and then you know, the stairs are the bottom bottom
of the stairs are there, and there's just a rope
separating you from that area, just a just an area
where there's nobody, you know, standing and they just want
people to walk along the rope and not walk too
close to where they could bang into the stairs. So
I just sit there and go, you know what, I

(12:10):
I don't care. I don't care if I get arrested.
I have to go. And I pulled a cup out
of the out of the trash, like a beer cup
to somebody this And I walked over to under the
where under the stairs were, and I turned my back
to everybody and I turned back around and I'm like,
oh my god, I feel good. And there were people
looking at me. Some guys were looking at me like dude,

(12:32):
what the hell were you just doing? And I didn't
care because I had to go so bad. I'm like, okay,
I threw the cup away. I'm like, okay, all right.
If you were out, and if a security guard came
out to me and said, dude, I got to kick
you out of the stadium, I gotta site you after
rest you, I would have said I don't care, because
I was in It was so awful, like it was
a like a I had a fever dream going on,
like I just had to go to the bathroom so bad.

(12:53):
And I really if they said, I said, you can
arrest me, but let me go to the bathroom first,
and then you can take me down, you can fingerprint me,
you can book me whatever you want, but I gotta
go to the bathroom first. And I didn't get arrested
for it, obviously because I was able and and I said, Okay,
I'm never gonna let that happen again, so trust me
when when you have to go, I completely understand. I
thought it was going to blind though I was going
blind like I can't even I can't even think I have.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
To go to the bathroom. I don't care.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
You get that and you start having pains that that
are now is your mind's playing tricks on you. I mean,
I mean there's a lot that goes on with that,
There's no question about it. Uh, just remember that could
end you end up on a registry in the wrongs
down distance and circumstance. Sure, but you're also in a
situation it sounds like you more or less did a

(13:41):
fall on number fifty five. You just raise your hand on, Yeah,
I got them. That was It's yeah, no you're not.
You're not arguing, you're not luka ing or lebron ing
a ref. You're just like, yeah, no, that's it. I
got them, that's mine.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
I really I was.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
It was that I think back to that moment and
think how how much stress I was under and now
and and really and I think back and go, how
is the bathroom situation that terrible? Like I really to
say that the situation was just that awful that I
couldn't get into the men's were like, come on, man,
this is this is terrible.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Is there an app like that for stadiums yet?

Speaker 4 (14:18):
I'd oh to let you know about bathroom which harmon
that rated cleanliness.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Rated by accessibility, kid, No, I don't know about that
a number. And let let's start with this. No, no,
let's start with this where you can tell, uh, if
there's an app bathrooms in a stadium that are have
the shortest line like.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
And that that's something people.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Okay, I gotta go to the bathroom here I am
which one's got the shortest light.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Oh, it's the one right here to the right. That's
where I'm gonna go.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Poo that dude, that's a million that's a million dollar
app idea.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
That's a million dollar app idea to call you call it?
You call it sports body.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Boom, there's a boom sports I got the sports body
app about patent pending, bat and pending. No one can
steal it. And I get three percent from whatever you
make harmon. But that's your idea right there, that's your idea.
Forget about cleanliness everything.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
No, you gotta go. Hey, which restroom closest to me
is open? Boom? Found it right there? Boom. Well, because
I know we had the.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
The app that would tell you when there was a
good time to go for a bathroom break in a movie.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
That was a big deal for a while. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
This is the This is where you go kind of
drags here. You can you can leave for five minutes.
You'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Just like Hey, when you go see guns and Roses,
they'll do koma go to.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
No, I'll dare you, although I did kind of lob
that up to you, like you're coming in for the alley.

Speaker 2 (15:37):

A tradition unlike any other, true Live from the tire
Rack dot Com Studios and Butler Cabin. Here we are.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Talking about the first great golf of end of the year.
We're not gonna mention Tiger Wood's not playing. Anybody that
doesn't know, don't want to ruin it for him. Maybe
you're watching thinking you'll see Tiger Woods play. Even if
you won't, maybe you'll see Fred Couples, sixty five years
old making it through the weekend.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
And oh, what a story that would be. What do
you think about that? Tony Romo, Jim Jim.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Fred Couples is like ninety Jim Jim and he still
plays got white hair now, Jim Jim Jim. His nickname
is Boom Boom Jim. How cool is that?

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Jim Jim Jim.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
I think Jim nance and Tony Romo in the in
the booth would be pretty good. Hey, Tony's a golfer, right,
you know, he's a golfer. Haven't happened, But that's just it.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
The second screen experience, give me the second scream experience.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Come on, what do we see ahead this weekend? What
do we see from the NFL Draft? Time tohead to Vegas.
Nobody better to talk with than Vegas insider extraordinary Todd Ferman.
He is on Twitter at Todd Furman, former odds maker.
Check out the bet the Board podcast as well. See
him on CBS Todd, what's happening, Bud?

Speaker 3 (19:26):
You know, gentlemen, this is a tough time of year
for me. It's the rare instance as we get into
April where I actually have to pretend I followed the
NBA through a meaningless regular season. I'm going to start
actually paying attention as the teams and players begin to
care about the games that they'll play over the next
two months.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Yeah, I mean, do you do you have that thing
where you go, hey, after after the after the All
Star Game, we basically take a break NBA wise because
we don't care, why should they, And then we'll get
back to betting as we got closer to the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
I mean, the NBA is not a sport that I
bet on a night at night out basis, so I
have to be transparent in that regard. But I know
it definitely creates some trials and tribulations. For folks that
do trying to figure out what players are going to
be in the lineup, what players are going to be out,
you get all sorts of enigmatic results like we saw
earlier this week with the Warriors losing outright as a
seventeen and a half point favorite to the San Antonio Spurs.

(20:14):
At least when we start the play in tournament next week,
you know that everybody is going to be fully entrenched.
And it's not just teams jockey and proceeding looking to
try and win to get into certain spot or are
some cases lose to avoid various opponents Todd.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
One of the results we saw this week, we watched
the dramatic return of Luca Doncis to Dallas over under
was thirty and a half for his points.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Smith dubbed it the easiest bet ever to make.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
What's say, you know, pretty impressive result as far as
Luca going home and wanting to try and make a statement.
His points, rebounds, assist prop for that night was forty
eight and a half and he'd only gone over that
in one previous game as a member of the Lakers. Clearly,
this was a spot he had circled and wanted to
go out there and prove a point, and he essentially
did that. So the Dallas Mavericks fans and attendance can't

(21:01):
be thrilled. They did a good job with the tribute
video and the Lakers right now, you know, I listed
as the fourth favorite on the board to win the
NBA Championship at a price tag right around fifteen to one,
and it puts them behind only the Oklahoma City Thunder,
Boston Celtics, and Cleveland Cavaliers. So we'll see if the
star power can carry them through. But as far as
the West is concerned, plenty of intriguing series and a

(21:22):
lot of land mines for even some of the favorites.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Todd Over under the rest of the season for rescinded
technicals for Luca, if you play, I put it three
and a half, what would you take?

Speaker 3 (21:32):
I have to imagine that the officials are going to
be extremely judicious before they hand out another technical if
Luca is bantering back and forth with fans. As always,
as fans of any sport, you want to see your
superstars out there. So an over zealous official with a
quick whistle took what was going to be a close
game for the Lakers in Thunder and turned into a

(21:52):
little bit of a lopsided contest. But I think even
in the wake of that loss on the ultimate cover
for Oklahoma City, it showed that the Lakers are at
least going to be able to push the Thunder if
that's a matchup we get. And you always wonder about
the stars at the top of the Lakers roster and
their capabilities versus the Thunder, who have a ton of
difference makers, are a tremendous defensive team, but outside of

(22:13):
sha Gilles Alexander, sometimes you begin to wonder who can
be their secondary scoring options in a game of that magnitude.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
DoD We're marveling at the Masters, particularly Fred Couples and
the Eagle, and he's twenty five hundred to one. How
much betting is done on an event in the golf landscape,
and that sub question is the Ry McElroy seems to
be everybody's favorite.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Is that followed the money as well.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
The single biggest golf betting event of the year. Sportsbooks
do a great job of putting out odds to win
the Masters. Essentially once this termamin will come to completion
on Sunday, so you have the better part of eleven
months to try and get down and it creates a
little bit of volatility, especially further down the board. You're
not going to get long shot prices on Rory or
Scotty or some of the biggest names in the sport,

(23:00):
but you can find guys that start the year pretty
hot and that may end up giving you an opportunity
to kind of build around those particular investments. As far
as Rory, when you look at where he is chasing
Justin Rose seven strokes back, odds maker is giving him
a ton of respect, and I think rightfully so when
you see Rory's number drifted out about seven and a
half to one before the tournament, now out to twelve,

(23:21):
and that's reflected across the board. I know Justin Rose,
at least on paper as a three stroke lead, and
it can't be discounted. But oddsmakers still have Scotti to favor.
His odds have shortened substantially, from a price tag of
four and a half to one now down to two.
Ludvig Olbert number twenty five to one pre tournament down
to six. Justin Rhodes of course, Justin Rose, of course,
the big winner and all of that one hundred and

(23:42):
ten to one. Coming into Augusta, he's now the third
favorite at seven and a.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Half to one. It's in prominent sportsbooks. All right, Tod,
Let's head to the draft. We talked about this earlier.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Look, The status and where Shaudor Sanders gets drafted is
going to be the topic between now and the NFL
Draft from.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
What you're seeing and hearing in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
If I said to you the most likely outcome for
Shador Sanders based on what you're hearing, is what that he's.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Going to fall a little bit further than people are
led to believe as far as.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
What outside the top ten, like, outside the top ten
like we like, where do you say.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
If you want to bet Shador Sanders in a one
way market? So keep that in mind. To be a
pick inside of the top five, you can get a
price return of about two to one, and I think
that you would see substantial money coming in on the
no if that was the case. Now with quarterbacks, it's
always a little bit different, Smith, because you have to
imagine if Shador is there seven, eight, nine, ten and
a team believes he's going to be their guy, that

(24:37):
they're going to trade up. So all it takes is
one team to fall in love with you, especially as
a quarterback, and it kind of throws a wrench into things.
But as far as the price is out there now
on Shador and the team to draft him, I think
that's a very interesting market because the Saints have moved
to the forefront as the favorite. Now that price will
get you right around three to one. The Steelers second
on that board, priced neck and neck with the Giants,

(24:59):
and that four and a half five to one range,
and then lo and behold, you're beloved. New York Jets
now fourth on the board to try and select Shador
Sanders and make in the quarterback of the future for
Game Green.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
No, we love justin Field. Justin Field is our guy. Hey,
shod Door Sanders is their draft Chador Sanders. We love
jaanor Sanders.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
Yeah, we know, we know how this is going to
go for the Jets. Let's knock sugarcoat it in any capacity.
I still think though, the Jets are going to use
their first round pick on an offensive lineman to try
and create a little bit more depth in the trenches.
But if you think that a quarterback is going to
be the order of the day, you know, seven to
one kind of the going rate should they have fallen
in love with Shador Sanders, Jackson Darda or a player

(25:37):
to be named later.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
That has actually been one of my the curious things
I've been following in the betting circle stot of by
individual team what player will be their first selected, So
is it an offensive lineman and is it a quarterback?
And then odds there app for each of those positions.
I think it's an interesting way of examining the draft
A one.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
Hundred percent, and I think you can isolate some of
these teams and try and figure out where you have
a higher level of conviction. You know, last year the
Jets were a massive favorite to take an offensive lineman.
With that tenth overall pick, I allowed folks that wanted
to take some shots thinking that they might add an
offensive weapon in brock Bowers to get some long shot pricing.
But I think for Raiders fans much of their chagrin.

(26:19):
And I'll bring this up to Plank on Sunday night
because I love to needle him whenever I get the opportunity.
The running back position is a dollar forty five favorite
for the Raiders for their first drafted player. You look
up and down that roster. I'm not sure that's what's
going to get the Raiders over the hump, even if
they think they have a dynamic runner in Ashton Genty
out of Boise State. We've seen Pete Carroll make this

(26:40):
mistake before. Fortunately for Raiders fans, he probably won't draft
a running back out of San Diego State this time around.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
I will say this though, Todd, I see a lot
of running backs coming off the board the first couple rounds.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
It may not be quarterbacks, may not be the order.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Of the of the draft here, but I see tons
of running backs coming off in those first sixty four picks.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
I think we'll see a number of guys start to go.
I mean, clearly, Ashton Genty is an overwhelming favorite to
be that first guy. And that's where things start to
get a little bit more interesting in terms of who
you believe will be the second running back drafted. Most
signs right now, given the media interviews and the way
he has risen up on some of the draft forecasters boards,
would be their running back out of North Carolina, Marion Hampton.

(27:21):
So we'll see how that looks. But again, that's a
position that if one player's skill set fits a little
bit different, maybe they fall in love with Travian Henderson
in the process. Maybe it's Quinn, Shawn Judkins or somebody else,
but I think it's Ashton Genty the first back omaryon
Hampton number two, and that's where things start to get
a little bit scurely.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Third on down the line, Todd, last one for me,
what kind of odds can I get on the Knicks
losing in the first round?

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Come on, man, the price tag on the Knicks in
their series if we look ahead for them, you know,
potentially on a crash course to take on to the
Detroit Pistons barring some unforeseen change. If the Indiana Pacers
can get by the Knicks, the Knicks will be substantial favorites.
And you would think, given any level of veteran experience,
that they're going to open as a substantial favorite. So

(28:05):
if you think the upstar Pistons can get the job done,
you'll get a pretty aggressive price tag out there. Herm
any lifetime's worth of material that you can rib Smith
for for the next eleven plus months.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
He's on Twitter at Todd Furman, that is at Todd Furman.
Check out the Bet the Board podcast as well.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
See him on CBS. Todd has always buddy, appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
Man.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
We'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Fuck you got a gentleman. Enjoy a great weekend at
golf and whatever other sporting pursuits are.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
On the radar now again, we'll get to more on
on Shudeur Sanders coming up next hour. But it's interesting
to hear, you know, you hear all the different possibilities
for him of you know, top two, top three off
the board, by the top ten falling through the draft,
and and you know, as more time goes on, there's

(28:51):
been more of the falling through the draft, and there's
been in the top five of the draft. Just seeing
the way things are going, it looks like a fall
for Shudur Sanders is coming.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Yeah, I know it's gonna be interesting to see, right
who is there a team that loves him enough to
just say we have to have him, because we've seen
that in the past. But for this year, Yeah, there's
more intrigue at the top of the draft. Can't wait
to cover it all with you, as we do each
and every year here on Fox. After mister Perfecto gets
things going as well, So it'll be brilliant time.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Out to find out what's trending in the wide world
of sports.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
But a man who's been called the Shador Sanders of
Fox Sports Radio, anytime things don't go right, he believes
his offensive line.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
It's Isaac Owenkron. He's got what's trending.

Speaker 7 (29:35):
Yeah, we've had some problems that right guard recently that
have affected my pronunciations of international golfers. More on that
in a moment where we start with the NBA and
the Minnesota Timberwolves winning at Memphis this evening one one
to one twenty five. Anthony Edwards at the tea Wolves
scored forty four points. He made seven out of eleven
from three point range. The Timberwolves scored fifty two points

(29:57):
in the third quarter alone. That's a franchise record. It
was also the highest scoring quarter in the NBA this year.
And guys, I hate to say it, but we have
another John Morant celebration update. John Morant did a grenade
celebration again tonight, and he also debuted a brand new

(30:20):
celebration in which, and I'm not making this up, he
pantomimed firing a machine gun into the crowd after making
a baskets. So we'll see how that plays over on
Park Avenue where the NBA offices are located. Grizzlies, by
the way, we'll be in Denver tomorrow. No word yet

(30:41):
if Moran will be upgrading to a thermonuclear bomb detonation
gesture after he makes a basket. In that game, the
Indiana Pacers held off Cleveland one fourteen to one to twelve,
clinching a top four seed in the East. Piston's got
thirty six from Cade Cunningham at a one to fifteen
to one TOHO six victory over the Knicks. And it
might be twelve thirty eight Tuesday morning in Atlanta, but

(31:04):
the Braves and Phillies are still battling it out. After
a two hour and forty five minute rain delay, they
remain tied at one. They have just started the top
half of the eleventh inning. So I took the liberty
of monitoring some real time tweets from Braves fans as
this game moved into the eleventh Julius commenting quote, can

(31:26):
the rain come back? This is painful to watch at
Georgia privacy trees. I'm not even gonna ask the story
behind that. One commented quote, should have paid for a
roof for the stadium when it was built. The amount
saved from rain delays could have paid for it in
two and a half years.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Horrible planning.

Speaker 7 (31:47):
And finally, braves Fan Kirby posting simply quote, lmao, you
guys suck unquote, finally staying in the state of Georgia.
Round one of the masters saw dustin Rose shoot as
seven hundred sixty five. He's got a three shot lead
over Scottie Scheffler, Corey Connors and Ludwig Oberg, who were

(32:09):
three shots back after shooting sixty eight's on Thursdays. And
you guys can't see it now, but I'm doing my
own machine gun celebration of another great report back to you.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Thank you. You're not doing the grenade and throwing it
into the crowd. You're not doing that, and that's not you.
That's not you.

Speaker 4 (32:26):
All right, He really went away from the grenade fast
though he did well, he did. He didn't even get
warned by the league yet.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Yeah, no, no, no, well, you know, listen, we'll get
to that coming up next because this has become a
really big conversation. Jah Morant debuting new celebrations that, in theory,
could get him in trouble with the league.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Why is nothing gonna happen? We'll tell you. There's only
one reason.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
There's only one reason. We'll tell you why. Next Chasing
a Mike. You are listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (33:00):

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with My best
Friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 7 (33:15):
Well Dressed, Cobot.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Lifthtireck dot Com Studios, Way yup, John Moran, still at it.
Tonight Grizzly Star had a big night on the floor,
goes for thirty six points. Not enough though, the Tea
Wolves blow out the Grizzlies one forty one five.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
By the way, our boss Scott Shapiro because he feels
like he jinks them the other night when he texted
me and they wound up blowing a twenty four point lead,
texting me before the game tonight saying, Hey, try this
one out, Jason. Tonight the Wolves are gonna lose by
eighty Well, they wound up winning one forty one to
one twenty five. So you put the reverse karma out
there in Scott Shapiro gets to celebrate a big win

(33:57):
tonight and a near triple double from Julius R.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
I got some other things he can low ball and
then the opposite come through. Let's go, I mean, big
night for Anthony Edwards, he had forty four.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
But really the Jamarant story is it because this is
a guy who you can debate how serious his transgressions
are of the machine gun making the guns celebratory gesture
that's gotten him in trouble over the course of the
last couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Right, remember you go want to go back when he
and Buddy Held got in.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Trouble during a game making finger guns at each other,
doing gun celebration. The NBA says, we don't want gun celebrations.
We got a big gun problem in this country. You
don't want to glorify that. We don't want guns. All right, Okay,
we're gonna warn you. And the NBA warned Ja Morant,
and they warned Buddy Heal the next day and then
or the next game, which was that night.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Right, the NBA says, you're getting off with a warning.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Okay, Ja Morant goes out and does the finger gun
celebrations again, like I don't care, Adam Silver, blank you.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
I have zero respect for you and the league.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
I get he likes being the villain and Miranda has
talked about being the Hey, this this is my role.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
Okay, I get it. But here you are. Now you're
thumbing your nose of the league. Blank you, blank you. Okay.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
He gets fined seventy five grand Ooh yeah, that's gonna
stop him.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
What did he do tonight?

Speaker 2 (35:15):
He still does the machine gun celebration, but he debuts
the hand grenade celebration where I take the hand grenade,
I make a basket, I take the hand grenade, I
throw it into the crowd and I put my hands
over my ears, like you know, the boom is coming,
so now it's gonna be great. Can you imagine the
conversation in the New York offices tomorrow where they're discussing, well,
is a grenade the same as a handgun? Of Hey,

(35:38):
look in the war, here's pictures of the grenade, and
here's says, is a grenade the same thing?

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Sho? Should we wind up differentiating? Should we do what
we're doing. Blah blah blah. You can debate how.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Serious a transgression this is from Jah Moran, Right, I
have my opinions. I told this is a guy that
doesn't get it, that clearly eventually is gonna wind up
finding his way out of the league because he's nearly
done it twice before. And I don't care anymore. He's
not doing things the way you should be doing if
you want a long NBA career. But the bottom line

(36:08):
is this, and this goes to what I've been saying
about Adam Silver for a long time.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
The guy is spineless.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Jahn Morant is on the beach kicking sand in his
face in front of his girlfriend, and the commissioner in
the is doing nothing about it. They're coughing the sand
away while his girlfriend is batting eyes.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Oh you're so cute kicking sandby Oh look at you.
Oh baby, I don't know. Oh, I'm getting all flushed.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
And all's Adam Silver is doing is going now style
the sand in my throat. Oh my goodness, Ja Morant
is doing this and nothing has happened. If Adam Silver
had any guts, if he had any any desire to
stand up and say, okay, I'm the commissioner of this league.
He would stand up and say, I'm sorry, you're getting suspended.

(36:54):
Now you are poking the bear whatever you want to say.
You are embarrassing the league. You're in harassing me. You
are not gonna do that because you want your leader
to be strong, right I want the leaders to be
strong David Stern. This would have lasted all of eight
seconds for David Surn would have said, John, do you
like to play in the NBA? How about you said
for their twenty games? Because I could do that right now.
I can sit you twenty games right now. If you

(37:16):
do that one more time. How does that sound? Twenty
games come in your way? You want to do it again?
Twenty games? I'm telling you twenty five game. I don't
care if it's the playoffs. That's what David Stern would do,
And instead Adam Silver is, oh, I never want to
rile up any of the players. I don't want to.
You need to be a strong, bleeping leader man. But
instead he is spineless. I will be the most surprised

(37:36):
guy in the world if he answers this hand grenade
machine gun celebration with something that is really full of
pith and content tomorrow with Okay, now we're gonna make
sure you're not doing this because so far he just
wants to shine that big placard on his desk that
says NBA commissioner. He wants to do interviews at the

(38:00):
trade deadline. He wants to interviews at the All Star
Game and in the finals about how great the league is.
We want to expand want to do all these things.
I just like being the commissioner, walk around people saying commissioner,
but anything really big needs to be done. Oh no, no, no,
And I'm not going to take on the players. I'm
not gonna do any of that. And no, no, no,
I'm not that guy. He is absolutely spineless. Again, I'll
be the most stunned guy in the world if he

(38:21):
comes out with something strong against John Morant after tonight. Yeah,
I mean you can hold two thoughts in sequence, right,
they can run in parallel.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Is that you like the idea of.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
We could debate how serious transgression the celebrations are. They
do partner and take a lot of money from Epic Games,
which if you look at their most of the list
of games that they operate third person. This first person,
that the other games of war, etc. So we go

(38:57):
down those rabbit holes if you really want to go
down there, just like the leagues and their.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Associations with gambling websites.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
But all of that to say, you've warned the guys,
like you've set the in theory the rules of engagement
on these things and said, hey, stop it all right,
here's what we're trying to do.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
Work with me, and here are the consequences.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
And I got to think there was a second paragraph
at anything we saw in terms of statements that they
would actually have consequences, because as of now it would
seem like an idle threat without a lot of teeth
to it. And I know we're getting limping to the
end of the regular season and Memphis probably isn't long
for these NBA playoffs, but it's still the point of
you got to show that the office has some weight. Otherwise,

(39:41):
you know, why call technical files, why throw guys out
of games, and why have disciplinary questions of how they
do these things at all? If you're just gonna sit
idly by and tell me how great expansion is and
how great marketability is overseas, I.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
Really I'm gonna wait till and I've gotten past where
I like have any expectation for Adam Silver. I used
to have expectation when I would say you're spineless. Now
it's just I just say, you're spying like that at
kicking sand in his face and he's not doing anything.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
He's not doing anything because John ransay, I don't care.
I don't care.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
What are you really gonna do to me? And I'm
doing this, you would need some sort of crazy, Adam Silver.
Someone's standing up, going you have to go do it.
You're the bleeping commissioner you wanted to be the you
gotta go do it. But no, no, no, it's gonna
be quiet. It's a Friday.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
I'm leaving early.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Hold all my calls. I'll be back to work on Monday,
and hopefully this will be all gone and we're talking
about the playing round because the season's over by then.
That's gonna be Adam Silver exit out about a Fresca
exit swollen dome. Coming up next, got a big story
out of the NFL involving quarterbacks and a team that's
got to get what Fox
