You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Hello, welcome in side our three, The Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Jason, Yeah, what are you got, Frostberger? I think Banda
just threw your toss? I think so. I think?

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Hey, I can can I go like Minority Report where
they would be able to tell murders ahead of time?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
No, our three poll question okay, because I think I
think we should arrest Dustin May for whatever murder he's
going to commit ahead of time. Leaving with a five
to one lead thanks to a grand slam giving up
by Banda, it is now a five to five game.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
In the Marninsins, there was a really good hour.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Three pole question, You'll be looking up at the Mets
by another game gonna happen. It is made capable of
murder because.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
They did this long shot in the dug out.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
You don't normally get that long a shot of a
pitcher after he's left a game watching things unravel, right,
Normally it's a quick glance. Ah, he doesn't look happy. No,
they stayed with it like he just had this beauty.
You could start putting up like the the burning rage
around him. You know, Aura, were talking about Aura a lot,
right there's a lot of anger, a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Of hurt right now.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Seventy two sixty five the Warriors and the Rockets. About
four minutes ago in the third quarter, Fred van Vliet
has just hit a three. Mate it seventy two sixty
eight with four minutes to go in the third ble
of more in this game coming up. It's all about
the Rockets, Betty. I'll keep you and we'll keep you
updated on that Dodger game where yes, Doug, Dustin May, Dustin.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
May, and Anthony Bend are wrestling. Got no, they're not.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Before we get to a great little codea we have
here for the NFL Draft, A little bit more on
that Bill Belichick Jordan Hudson story that spread like wildfire
this weekend. The interview with CBS News that aired yesterday.
Absolute train wreck. She interrupted a lot during the interview,
including one point we played it for you a couple
minutes ago where they asked how they met and she said,

(02:20):
we're not going to get into that. TMZ has this story,
this kind of add on that they just published on
more of what went on during this interview. And TMZ
reports that Jordan Hudson interjected many times and corrected Belichick
during the interview, including when he was talking about football Bill, Bill,

(02:44):
I'm sorry. That was Vinnie testa Verdi, who was the
coach who was the quarterback of the Jackson. So she's
interrupting him many times during the interview. At one point
she got so mad and she stormed out for a
half hour. Again, this is TMC's report. She stormed out
for a half hour. They had to shut down filming Belichick.
They stopped and were able to finally get it going
later on. And the big money quote from TMZ on

(03:08):
it is this is that, according to this report, they're
told that people at North Carolina are concerned about her
influence on Belichick's tenure, by saying, quote, there's a growing
sense this could become a problem, So could be first
of all. First of all, well, they haven't played a
game yet, So I mean, I haven't played a game yet.
But I really want to see the audio video of

(03:30):
her correcting him when he's talking about football.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I really want to see.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
That would be something he wouldn't let any reporters say
anything about football.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Oh you're right, Jordan, No, you're right. I did say that.
You're right. Yes, I did say Alabama Mack. You know
you're right. I did say Alabama Mackyeah. Yeah, yeah, I
did say that. Now here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Are we hitting a tipping point between lampoon and concern?

Speaker 2 (03:50):
No?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
No, that's what I mean, Like you know what I
mean right now? Well, look, Bill Belichick's a seventy two
year old man. Okay, So this is a guy that's
making making decisions here and now he's you know, and
she Lady macbeth on that.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
But that's my lad question in terms of his decision making.
He's seventy two and he's do have an issue.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Going on beyond the Hey I'm dating a twenty four
year old. I'm talking what we start getting into cognitive
and other things.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Do we have another thing to worry about it?

Speaker 1 (04:14):
No? I think that's something you would find out as
as the coaching went on and Belichick's coaching, and but
we did no reports of anything like that. I just look,
he's seventy two, he's dating a twenty four year old,
and he's like, hey, I'm living my best life. And
but like they showed up for the interview, nobody else
in North Carolina. There no PR people there. There's always
a PR person there in every interview an athlete or

(04:35):
a coach does because a PR person asks to no
one to shut an interview down and when to ask
what Nobody from the school was there. It was just
Belichick and and Jordan Hudson who showed up together for
this interview.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Nothing else.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Hiking the book comes out here, here's what we need,
here's what we'd like the selling points, here's the points
we'd like to talk about from the book means that's
usually the PR people taking care of the thing.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Is CBS News is like it's it's a Sunday Morning show.
It's like, we're not gonna throw fire. Actually and institution
man CBS Sunday Morning. I had relatives that had no
interest in the world at large. It was sports, movies, beer,
and cigarettes.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
But they watched CBS Sunday morning.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Well have me just having beer and cigarettes. I'm not
saying they didn't, but a nice coffee.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
It's eight thirty.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
We're gonna turn on Charles Gibson. Was he ces PB
all Charles carl say? I had the Charles Charles is rock.
I had Charles in charge there for that.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
I mean, now you're getting political by bringing up Bayo.
No nice job, Buddy's not?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
This is this is? I see this, and I go,
did this undo? This influence that she clearly is having
over him just doesn't make sense for a guy that's
run everything one way.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
His entire life.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
And I get your to is there any thought about
but hey, he's coaching, everything is going fine, he's flipping
recruits and everything else. I mean, we would hear something
like that. But like just the fact that she's in
on this and now she's she's a man.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Of taking over. Its just I feel like, who are you?

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Man? Who who is this guy that that just lorded
over the NFL for two decades and you can't even
count as Super Bowl rings? And now here you are
where you know your twenty four year old girlfriend is
running interviews and and and and and causing its situations
and causing controversy.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Like how did you let this happen?

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Like?

Speaker 2 (06:23):
How did we get It's like Breaking Bad?

Speaker 1 (06:25):
The very beginning of the pilot episode right, it starts
with Walter in his underwear in a gas mask driving
the RV and you're like, what the hell is this?
Probably the greatest opening in TV. It's just what the
hell is it? And then you find out like how
did we get to here? Where here's Walter in his
underwear and a gas mask driving an RV at unsaved
speeds in the desert, Like how did we get here?

(06:46):
Like That's why I.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Feel for Bellachi.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
I'm like, this is a scene where he's in his
underwear driving, How did we get here?

Speaker 2 (06:51):
How did we get here? What happened in that gap? Here?
Is really? Well, we're asking he backed back through Europe
and that's what he did.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
This is this is the solution, a data twenty four
year old and I'm gonna really the light that I built,
the regimen, the consistency, the constancy, the rule book that
was tattered and dog eared, all of that, burned it.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Down, I stated at some hostels and made sure to
stay away from the ones from the movie.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
You know, I saw the two of them. You know,
I weren't really great.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
You know, I just want to make sure didn't say that,
you know, so you know the beds were lumpy, but
it's okay.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
You know, we went through your mug. You know, Germany and.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Austria a bunch of hippies, you know what I mean.
United Kingdom came back down, went through a grease solid
You know.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
It really is an interesting study.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Like I'm interested in the book, curious as to what
she let go by.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
As his editor. Now what what what happened there? Good luck?

Speaker 3 (07:45):
I wish those kids a lot of luck, good luck.
I just hope he's okay. And I say that with
all sincerity. My daughter works part time as she's going
to school and eventually nursing is the vocation. In the interim,
she's working at a place where folks are dealing with
different stages of dementia, and she tells me a lot
of stories. And the process said that there's there's no

(08:08):
there's no evidence, there's no evidence of that.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
I'm just saying I'm a hyper sensitive look to it.
Given everything, I hope he's all right. I'm not I'm
not trying to cast. He's doing interviews, looks, and he's coaching,
he's seeing everything seems fine.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
No, I'm not trying to cast his version. But we
get into you suddenly change direction one hundred and eighty
degrees of the person that we've watched for since he
quit the Jets right when he made that memojana on
a nepkin. To this point, it's it's just a curious change,
that's all I So we try to find explanation.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
This again, and this story is going to continue to
This will be a hot story this summer. Suddenly Belichick
coaching North Carolina is becoming the biggest story in all
of college football. So everything we've seen because of the
relationship with Jordan Hudson where things are, this is now
going to rival Dion in Colorado as what do we
pay attention to this year? What are the biggest things

(09:03):
going in? There's two stories right now going in Deon
and Colorado Belichick in North Carolina. And as time gets
closer and closer, it's gonna be Belichick and his ramps
up and what can he do? Can he win games?
I mean really, it's this has become a story that
will take over in this summer. It's gonna start taking over.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Now.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out where where the.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Holes and the gaps in this timeline is right, because
he got fired, had a couple of years, made some
decisions with his coaching staff that clearly were fails. Right,
let's take a defensive coordinator. Let's make him the offensive guru. Yeah,
it did work. We take a guy that had a
really good rookie season, yeah, and absolutely obliterate his career.

(09:46):
Not that he would have been great shakes necessarily long term,
but you go back.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
To the first year, it's like, hey, this guy might
be okay. He's not Brady, but he could be okay.
And then he falls off a cliff. So it's like
we a couple of years of the football side where
all right, I'm gonna throw darts and take big shots,
and now you have this where you can't even answer
a question about how you met somebody. Well, no, he
could have answered the question he was told not to.

(10:12):
But the fact that he's not, I'm like, what happened.
That's his girlfriend, that's the person he goes home with
at night, doesn't go home with the guy doing the interview.
Does it go with the cameraman doesn't go home with
anybody else in there, goes home with a girlfriend.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Okay, I'm just worried about the guy. That's all.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
I hope he's I think he's fine. Everything everything looks fine,
Belichick looks fine. Everything looks good.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Now coming up night, we'll do a little teaser right here,
because uh.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
We should do a couple of fun things.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Do that Buffalo Bill story from today, which is fantastic,
but Buffalo Bills from the movie.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Put my dog back on that.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
My three favorite draft picks now that the draft is done,
we're looking ahead. The smoke is cleared, Shador Sanders, everything else.
My three favorite draft picks. He's not the best, but
none of them are the Jets. But my three favorite
picks overall of this draft I do love. I love
almost all the Jets pick, except we've picked a wide
receiver that can't catch, so there is that.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
But but he's fast, so what he'll be fast? So
you'm the Raiders. Just you know.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
My favorite part about that with with Aaron Davis is
that is Aaron Smith is that he said the Jets
draft and he had trouble with catches. But they said,
oh he said, but he said he's willing to work
on it. Oh, because I was worried for a second.
You get to the NFL and go, yeah, I'm not
gonna work on.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
I'm done. I'm done. I'm I'm fine. I'll catch some,
I'll drop some. That's how it's gonna go. Oh good,
But he's gonna work out. He's showing willingness to work
on it. Great. Uh.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
The first pick I love and you're gonna you're gonna
either love or hate me for it. One of the
first three picks that I love the most in this
draft is I love that you guys got love Colston
love Lynd to the Bears. This kid is terrific. In
a season in which the Michigan played most of the
season without a quarterback, they direct snapped it to Mullings

(12:07):
and Donovan Edwards And oh, by the way, I love
the fact that Jets got Donovan Edwards. He is a
terrific player. He has unreal hands, he has incredible size.
He'll be a superstar right away, like Sam Laporter, like
he's gonna come in and go boy. This guy and
there's a reason why he got taken ahead of Ty Warren.
He has all the skills. And when you can still

(12:28):
be a top ten pick when you're going through a
senior year where you caught passes from a seventh year
senior and a gadget quarterback who has since transferred, this
tells you the level of talent that he has. I mean,
every ball to him on the side. He's a great
boundary receiver. I think he's gonna wind up being the
player that the Bills thought dalton Kin Kid was gonna
be when they drafted him. Colston Lovelin is terrific and

(12:49):
again he's gonna be one of And look now you
have a pretty good situation at tight ends. You have
another tight end is not bad. You got everything you need,
You have all the weapons you need. Keep giving guys
to Caleb Williams. This is going to be some kind
of pick. And I'm telling you he's gonna jump out
right away. Have a Sam Laporta type rookie year.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
He's that good.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
You know what's fun is he's when the pick got
made and we did the show on Thursday night, we
came on and for those that miss that, it comes
back to I love the toys that are picked. I
thought they needed some more infrastructure defensively, whatever. But the
pick in and of itself absolutely let Ben Johnson have
another guy to go to work, and we joked about

(13:27):
the fact that he was able to do that without
a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
The offense missions to look good. If the defense stinks
this year, but the offense is great positive year, that's
the offense can't look The offense can't look bad. The
defense is all right, like why do we bring you
in here? The offense needs to look good. That's why
they went after that. That was a head coach pick
right there. And now they might go and pick up
Nick Chubb. That's gaining some steam in the interwebsite.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
But all of that to say that you get a
guy that's a good compliment to Comet and obviously fits
into assystem, doesn't need to get fed ten to twelve
times a game to make an impact, and so the
opportunity is certainly there. And for Caleb Williams, it's gonna
be a lot about playing on time. You four to
five the offensive line during the off season and in

(14:13):
the draft as well, But now it's all about getting
him to play and what's the best security safety valve
you can have is a couple of tight ends that
can split seams and go to work.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
And so he's got that for sure. Exit. How about
a Fresco exit swollen dome.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
So there's the first of my favorite three picks in
the NFL draft. For got the other two coming up next.
Plus that crazy ass story today involving the Bills GM
who lost it on a couple of radios when they
questioned the fact that you didn't.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Get a wide receiver. What the hell you're talking about? Yeah,
it was really I'm going to do things my way,
and my way is terrible. That's next right here, Jason
and my Fox Sports Radio.

last number?

Speaker 2 (16:27):
The Fox. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Fox Sports Radio Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. Wow, So we'll get to the Bills story
in a minute, because it's awesome. But it's awesome, you know,
putting a cap on the draft, right, My three favorite
overall picks in the draft, and they're all first rounders, okay,

(17:05):
And there are guys that didn't get a lot of
attention because we spent so much time on Jador Sanders
and uh and and and the big trade with Travis Hunter.
So I gave you Colston Loveland a few minutes ago.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Two of them are tight ends. But the second pick
that I love the most is I love Ty War
under the Colts because that's the only thing missing on
that offense. People are sleeping on how good this offense is,
mainly because well, Anthony Richardson has issues and Daniel Jones
is the other guy.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
But this is a.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Team that you know, you have one of the best,
you have a top five running back, you have four
good wise I mean four good wide receivers that any
of those guys would be twos on even Alec Pierce
would be a two on another team. You just needed
a tight end, right you had You've been trying to
make it with Kylon Grantson for a while Alls, and
now you go out and get a guy who is
an absolute target monster, who will be able to sly.

(17:56):
He's a plug and play guy. Whoever winds up being
the quarterback for the Colts long term this year, it'll
probably Daniel Jones is going to have a phenomenal year.
And people are sleeping on this offense. That's the only
thing that the Colts were missing, and they get Ty
Warren falls of them. I mean the fact he's sitting
there in the middle of the first round when he's
the guy that was supposed to go in the top
five top set. There's no way the Colts thought they'd

(18:18):
get him, and yet here they are, and there was
an incredible stroke of luck they got him.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
But I love that pick. Well, it was it took
your team actually doing something sensible for that to happen.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Yeah, yeah, sure knew the Jets set up the Colts
for success. Look obviously for Stikeen and company trying to
figure out how to.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Make the most of it.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
You're hopeful for a big step forward from Mitchell, who
was a top draft pick for you last year. But
you're right, you do have three other wide receivers who
are are quite good. Pittman Junior when healthy, has been
fantastic and Alec Pierce, you know, can take the top
off of any defense, big play threat. And that's even
with the accuracy issues you had from Richardson. I don't

(18:59):
know how much that solved from Daniel Jones, but we've
seen him work to some success and you'll have some
balance in definition with Taylor behind him. So certainly like
that there. I liked Walter Nolan going to because we
had to get a guy Walter exactly. We talked Lebowski
so much, you gotta get a Walter, and we talked
about it with Jason Lockin for a little bit earlier.
But the fact that the Cardinals just pushed heavy into

(19:22):
the defense again, trying to achieve balance and maybe take
a little bit off the pressure for the offense. For
Kyler Murray to have to go out and outscore everybody
like it's a video game. No pun intended, ah punt
fully intended every week. But to come back then with
Will Johnson, who's the greatest. I'm just pushing all my

(19:43):
bets to the center.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Of the table that it just works out right because
he was a top five to seven guy until you
go through the medical evls and you have no idea
how that's gonna respond. If it responds appropriately, you now
have a guy who's there for a decade, hits a
bunch of Pro Bowls, and you look like geniuses in
the second round. So I like that they pushed in
and went and gutsy on the defensive side twice.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
And the last one.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
And this may be my favorite overall pick of the
draft just because of where what this can do to
a team that already is knocking on the door. But
the Chargers getting Amari and Hampton in the first round.
This kid is incredibly He hates you now it's Frostbering
just walked away from the microphone. He ain't even be kept.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
He's a house.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
He is a three down running back. The only thing
he's not going to do is catch passes out of
the backfield, but no big deal. This is the running
back room that Jim Harball wanted when he got the job.
I gotta get by with give me, hey, hey, John,
give me the two guys. It can't stay healthy for you.
But now you're talking about Amari and Hampton, Naji Harris backfield.
The only thing I don't like is that boy Justin

(20:51):
Herbert Fancy this year. He may only throw the ball
about eight times a game. But this is the sledgehammer
running back system that he's wanted. This is the system
he's wanted to bring from Michigan when he was winning,
when when he had two good running backs all the
way through the last few years where there's Blake Krum
and Donovan Edwards. It won a national championship for him.
This is the running back room he wants. And Amari
and Hampton is a stud. I've seen him play a

(21:13):
lot in the last few years in North Carolina. There's
nothing the guy can't do. Both these guys will be fresh.
Najie Harris's durable. You talk about the offensive move that
is going to lift a team more when it gets
to what they can do in the season and in
the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
This is it.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
This is a team that can run the ball and
can just ram it down your throat for sixty minutes
a game and as time goes on, yeah, well one
guy get more carries on the other shore, I'm sure
they'll bring a Marion Hampton a little bit slower because
Naujie Harris is very durable. I say this and Harris
are gonna get hurt, very durable. But when it comes
down to the playoffs, it's going to be how do
you stop these guys? How do you stop this this

(21:49):
sledgehammer offense that the Chargers have. That's why I like
this move the most out of all of them, because
this is going to take the charge from knocking on
the door to being a Super Bowl threat.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
That's how that's how big.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
And Marion Hamptony, yeah, I think when you look at
last year, it was cobbled together and they were very
effective for long stretches of the season. And yes, the
Justin Herbert over under on yardage and everything is certainly
a curiosity to watch as the season gets ready to go,
you bring back Williams whatever else. But yeah, certainly you

(22:20):
want to play balance shortened games, right, You got a
tough division that you're going to have to fight through.
Because the Raiders, while they may not pushed the envelope
on the wind to one, I think they're still at
five and a half wins for the year. Tell me
they're not going to be a much tougher out.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Right, again with balance, Gino is light years ahead of
what they were throwing out there at quarterback. Not that
he's a wizard, but that shows you what they'd been
dealing with. Right, and add Ashton Genty to the process.
But for the Chargers, this goes back to identity. So
more Harbaugh billboards alongside the injury and accident attorneys here
in Los Angeles, no question about it.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
I'll do you one favor. I'll do the rich with
Mason Taylor going to your.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Oh thanks, buddy, I liked that. I like that pick too.
I liked our draft.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
But again it goes back to we we talked about
the draft for outside of the couple of names, and
you know, we do it drive by here with gent
we talk about cam Ward and Travis Hunter and a
few other players should or Sanders certainly, but this is
a draft that isn't about sexiness. This was a draft
to stock your cupboards and get the get the good,

(23:30):
get the interiors. Right, you're gonna eventually get the good
paint job for your car and and make it all
look shiny. But you need the guts, have to be good.
That's what this draft was to me. For a lot
of teams that you're like, all right, what did they
do well they draft? It's a couple of linemen. It's
a couple of defensive linemen. All right, it's a cornerback,
but like nothing that stands out. But you're like, all right,

(23:50):
this team got a lot better, or they should at
least that the floor has been raised for them.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
And I think a lot of teams that's always the goal.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
I think this was a draft that that's how you
would have characterized it going in and certainly coming out
very much the same way. One thing you gotta see.
Frostburg showed me the picture like Jim Harbaugh's is a
big guy. He's six', three goes about two. Fifteen frostburg
showed me a picture of when he Met Amaron hampton
coming To chargers, facilities And harball looks like he's five

(24:19):
to five Like hampton. Is he's he's just he's just.
Huge and it's not like he's six not, no he's six.
Foot he goes about two twenty five to. Thirty but
he it just looks like What harball looks like he
would swallow his hand and this is this as your running.
Back it's like that picture when they showed that Picture
Derek henry next to Mark ingram when they were on
the field And ne're, like oh my goodness is Mark
ingram looks like he's got by he saw like seven eight.

(24:42):
Inches take a look at that. Picture you see A Mariine.
Hampton what's?

Speaker 3 (24:44):
Funny is Uh jim Bar BUT i, mean while he's
not the same stature he was when he was guesting
On saved by The bell as you, Know screeches cousin
or whatever the tie, was there still a big man
and certainly great expectations.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
For The chargers here here. Two, now let's get to
The bill's story today because this is. Fantastic so the
draft is OVER wgr the big heritage station In, buffalo
the biggest d am sports station In, buffalo And Brandon bean
The BILLS gm called in to be on the. Show
now before he goes on the, show he hears the

(25:18):
hosts on the air talking about how they didn't draft
a wide. Receiver how do you not draft a wide?
Receiver this whole, conversation And Brandon bean came on and
wanted to make sure everybody, Knows, hey quit it with
the wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Stuff you guys know what you're talking.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
About you guys were bitching in twenty eighteen About Josh.
Allen you guys Wanted Josh, rosen and now you guys
are bitching that we.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Don't have a.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
RECEIVER i don't get. It, like we just scored thirty
points in a row for eight straight games a year.
AGO i get you guys asking why we didn't have,
receivers BUT i don't understand it. Now you just saw
us lead the league in. Points our job is to
score points and win. Games where do we need to
get better? Defense we did, That SO i get. It

(25:58):
you got to have a show to have something to bitch.
About but pitching about wide receiver is one of the
dumbest Arguments i've.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Heard get those fours.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Up, Okay so here's where he's right and where he's. Wrong,
Okay is he right about the?

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Team?

Speaker 1 (26:12):
YEAH i think we and we talked about. This when
they let Stefaund diggs, go what do we, Say, hey
they're not just gonna Let Stefawnd diggs go if they
unless they're certain that this is addition by, subtraction what
they can do to the wide receiver room is going
to be. FINE i, said you know, What i'm gonna
leave it. Up they obviously know something we. Don't and
look what. Happened the offense was, great, Right so, YEAH

(26:33):
i get his philosophy of, yeah we had to get
better on, defense didn't need to get better.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Offensive the.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Offense Josh allen WON. Mvp, however, right it was fro
him to WIN. Mvp he WON. Mvp, right the offense.
Terrific James cook is. Phenomenal, right the end of the,
year he had, like the offense is, Great, yes defense
is where they had to, Go SO i get, that,
Right he's. Right, However Brandon bean's got to understand and
this gets to a point where this is about, you
AND i gets bigger than just this is that we

(26:59):
do the show show for.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Fans we don't do the.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Show for, teams, players, coaches and the lines have been
blurred over about the last few years because there's too
many shows that really try to just engage. Teams uh
then they do not like this is How i'm gonna
do because is How i'm gonna get a lot of
clicks on social. Media i'm gonna try to, engage But
i'm gonna say bad things about. Players i'm gonna say
glowing things about. Players i'm gonna do it, right but you,

(27:26):
know and, instead you, KNOW i think a lot of
shows have lost. That, hey you got to connect with
the people. Listen you gotta connect the. FANS i always
say the same when someone, Says i'm Like Billy crude
From Almost. Famous we play for the, fans you, know
and he says goodbye To. Williams is the going to
write an article? Lot and we play for the fans
LIKE i, DO i do? You AND i do the
show for the people. Listening that's who we do the show.

(27:46):
FOR i don't do the show for Jj. REDDICK i
don't care if he hates. Me i'm the show for
jj redd to do a show for. Anybody but look
at how many people the last few years in the
media have and this is not this is not about
these guys, here but this is the radio host In.
Buffalo this is about, like how many people now can
only find a way to make headlines talking sports when
either they're feuding with a player or a, coach or

(28:10):
they want a feud with somebody else in the. Media
this is the only way these guys are making headlines
now the other WAY i. See some of these guys
are supposedly GREAT tv and radio. Hosts all they do
the only headlines they make is When i'm getting into
it with it with a coach or a, team Or
i'm into it with another member of the. Media right
this is a sweet. Spot, Now, OH i don't think
people really care as, much but the people will blog about.

(28:32):
It they'll write about it because on the, blogs they
care more about writing about a feud between two radio
hos of people know than if something crazy call happened
between a host and someone and someone who is calling
in as a. Listener so that line has gotten blurred
where more and more people are doing the shows for,
them And Brandon bean's got to understand, That, hey these
guys are doing not doing the show for. You they're
not doing the show for, anything not doing a show

(28:53):
For Josh, allen not doing a show For Josh rosen
not doing the show for. Anybody they're doing the show
for the people. Listening and that's how we do. It
that's the right way show should be. Done and you know,
what fans In, buffalo they're, saying why is there not
a wide? Receiver, okay so you know, what they got
to talk about, that because you got to talk about
what the fans care. About if the fans, say, hey
we need a wide. Receiver if they had a big
poll question up in w G r where they, said,

(29:13):
hey what did the bills do? Wrong in ninety seven
percent said where is a wide? Receiver guess? What that's
a bleeping. Topic, man that's a. Topic i'm, sorry but
you have to understand they don't do the show for.
You the show has done for. That and that's that's
What that's what these hosts are. Doing that is get
that that they have to do because, hey, okay we're
beholden to our to our listeners and they want to
know why we didn't take a wide. Receiver, okay let's
break it. Down why don't we take one bad movie

(29:35):
he or good movie, here whatever it, is you have
the discussion on. It that's What Brandon bean's got On,
well he also could have done a five minute monologue
about how Good Josh palmer could. Be, Sell, Sell, sell
that's the guy you did bring, in, Right so.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
He did bring Up palmer in. There he, said, look
we brought these guys, in but instead of doing his
how many? Times what do we get?

Speaker 5 (29:54):
FOUR i?

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Think or?

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Yeah or derivations they're up, For, yeah get those fours.
Up but it's just the idea, that, yeah you gotta
bristle at. It and then it became a talking, point
And i'm sure there were articles written at you because
you're keeping apprized of what's going, on right the fan.
Base for, years everybody would CLAIM i don't, LISTEN i

(30:18):
don't hear, it and we knew they were, liars and
more and more we've seen that to be. True as
for the media, Battles, Look i'm convinced ninety eight percent
of those OF wwe k. Fame, hey we haven't had
anything in a, while can you or you, know you
take the lowest tropes And i'm not even gonna breathe
them into the air here At Vox Sports radio in the.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Moment you know what they. Are whenever there's a, Topic,
hey we could go down that. Highway let's go down that.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Highway you just watched it With Shirdhar sanders in his, fall,
right and certainly The eagles visit to The White house
today had everybody taken up. Arms so you do all
that if it seems fabricated to try to should get.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
The, engagement and again they're engaging with your. Fans is
it the right way to do?

Speaker 4 (31:06):
It?

Speaker 2 (31:06):
Yeah probably.

Speaker 1 (31:07):

Go we'll have more on this game coming up in
about ten. Minutes but after this, Weekend i'm pretty sure
The Cleveland browns are run by.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Fans they're.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Not it's not it's not very Fan, Nope, no they're
running Guy jimmy has. Top they're run by fans because
only fans would make the picks the way they did
the last couple of. Days so IT'S ai or actual.
Fans Alan iverson is not making the. Selection it's actual
fans who like came, in walked in and took over

(35:55):
the war and said we're going to make picks because
why keep coming back to how Was Shador sanders not
good enough to pick in the third round and we
Took Dylan? Gabriel how is he not good enough in
THE i get, okay not good enough in the first?
Round how is he not good enough in the third
round yet he's good enough to pick in the fifth?

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Round?

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Like what kind of crazy ass money? Python if she
weighs as much as a, duck then she's a? Witch
like this is the kind of logic that's being used.
Here we're only gonna take a quarterback in the third,
round gonna take another guy in the fifth. Round and
the guy that take, no, no not good enough to take,
him even though he's better than the guy in the third,
Round we're gonna wait.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
And take him. Again and for THE i feel like
fans took. Over so let's go.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
In let's take another? Quarterback why? Not, yeah we'll get
a quarterback, here get a quarterback. Here we got five
guys in the quarterback. Room it's gonna be. Awesome like
this is like moose fans Make, yeah but you seem
mad about. It this was your theory for, years get
as many quarterbacks in the final rounds of the draft
as you.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Can you can't be mad that they're actually listening to the.
Show Thanks jimmy Has Andrew berry looked like he wanted
nothing to do with the, pick by the, Way, no
that's the other that's other part was the.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Video that came.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
Outs won a, contest they got to make the. Pick
but it does come back to, marketing sales, management managing
expectations and trying, to AS i so often, say find
your wins for The Cleveland browns here all, right The
Deshaun watson things over, there it's it's it's just got

(37:22):
its last two years that you have to deal with
the ninety two million.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Dollars, okay but he's. Not but there's nothing you.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Can do about this. Now and now you're looking at
a guy who's gonna get to come in and, compete
and he's costing you. Nothing, yeah you don't get that
extra year of. Control but guess, what you're not paying
him anything for four. Years but it's the idea of all,
right in the third, round whether you Liked gabriel better
there or, not perhaps at that point it became the all,
right these are things, even and it was still the

(37:51):
completely run by the guys in the war. Room and
then this is Where Frank langella comes over the, top
and then he, SAYS i want that. Guy you MEAN
i could still get.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
Him he's on the board and thinking, Sales jersey, sales
all of these other things that are going to help
sell local advertising and everything.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
Else that it's a huge win with little. Risk in
the fifth. Round you went and Got Kenny, pickett and
you went and Got Joe. Flacco you Have Deshaun, watson
you Drafted Dylan gabor and then in the, fact And
i'm not saying it's not a good getting shooter or
sayers you got a, guy he's a. Bargain but how
but the philosophy of how was he not good enough

(38:33):
in the third round yet he was good enough in
the fifth? Round tell me how that makes? Sense after
you take a quarterback in the third. Round how does
that make? Sense how about What i'm, saying it makes no.
Sense the one was that picked from the war room
and then he's still on the board in the fifth, round, saying,
hey we could still get our. Guy they had Him
marck to the second second overall, people but the people

(38:53):
wearing the dog pound masks and the bones going. Making
that's who was making those. PICKS i mean they're run by.
FIVE i mean that's WHAT i feel, like because that's
how you're on a fantasy. Team but Then Jimmy haslam
comes over at the top and, GOES i can, WIN
i can maybe finally get an ounce of ink that
is slung in my favor by bringing In Shador sanders

(39:14):
because now he's in bargain. TERRITORY i, mean, LOOK i get,
it but he was a bargain in the third.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
Round he was a.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Bargain he would have gone, it of course he. Was
you could have had. It but why take a QUART
i get. It if you're, waiting why take a quarterback
in the third? Round say, oh we're gonna take another
guy in the fifth round if.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
You're gonna take some.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Volume you took a guy who projects to be a backup,
quarterback and then you could have had a. Starter but, no, no,
no we take a guy, there we take Another and
Again i'm, okay we drafted two, rookies but you also trained.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
For Kenny, pickett and you Brought joe flacl back off the.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Couch Brian sipe is also gonna be taking snaps during the.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Summer, JASON i say.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
This with all the LOVE i possibly can Must for,
years you have put up every draft season the theory
of draft.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Quarterback. Yes, yeah. Seven, okay so they went a little,
earlier but they fired on what you've been yelling.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
About because picking second draft picks this, way any of
that four.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
Through, seven you take, quarterbacks, right that's my. Philosophy but
you already had three of. THEM i, mean you take
we need one.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
More It's ocean's.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
Eleven these three guys may not be any.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Good you're not into any money free or for or For?
Flacco does? It And Dylan? Gabriel so, now, hey does
we bring him into? Zy listen to? You zero?

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Exit how about a frame you're mad? About Exit swallen.
Dumb coming up, Next houston has the basketball with thirteen seconds,
left down by a. Point are we breaking down a
big series tying win for The rockets or The warriors
going up three to? One that's coming up. Next right,
Here jason And, mike you are listening To Fox Sports.
