(00:55):
Bottom of the eleventh. Who's the guy I've told you
the last year I've had the most hate for in
Major League Baseball? No, no, no hate. Hey, you've hated
so many guys on your team? Who? No, no, no,
Tommy bleeping Tommy. I didn't go to the World Series
(01:16):
last year because the NLCS Tommy Edmund ten hits, ten
runs to an RBI. Come on, man, I remember when
he signed his new deal. How upset you were? I
hated Tommy Edmund. But Tommy Edmund two out single in
the top of the eleventh to give the Dodgers a
five to four lead. Dodgers hold on here. The Mets
have the wild card by themselves. I love Tommy Edmund.
Now I love Tommy. Now you love baseball again, Tommy Edmund. Well,
(01:42):
for the next couple of minutes, we'll see if for
Bleski can get out of the because I remember when
your your man Holmes didn't cover no, maybe you lost
your mind. Well, look, I think that's the last time
you see Clay Holmes and Sean and I have pitched
this year. Okay uh, And it is now over in
the desert. Robleski strikes out Corbyn ca Arrel to end it.
The Dodgers win it in extra innings. Their magic number
(02:05):
is one. They can clinch their twelfth nl West title
in the last thirteen years with a win tomorrow. Rookie
Sasaki with an inning of relief. Look great, Clayton Kershaw
ninth inning, shutting the Diamondbacks down on, telling me he's
gonna wind up closing for the Dodgers. Dodgers just throwing
stuff up against the wall and seeing what sticks with
their bullpen. But they get a big win tonight and
(02:27):
can clinch the NL West tomorrow. Their magic number is one.
Going through the listing of what we've seen over these
last couple a couple of weeks, I mean, Robleski has
been just well like all the other relievers, a little
roll of the dice. But tonight the Dodgers and Dave
Roberts pull all the magic pins and finish it off.
(02:50):
Sasaki was fantastic Kershaw in relief. Wait, how about that?
If he's finish out his career, you're gonna look if
he's gonna fit out his career. If you're an ad at,
this is it run in the playoffs as a closer?
Telling man, if you're the Dodgers and you're gonna lose,
I'd rather lose with Kershaw on the mount of the
ninth inning than trying In or Tanner, Scott or anybody else.
(03:13):
I'd rather have Chuck Tanner on the mound in the
ninth inning I don't think's been with us a while anyway.
I gotta explain to Jen Xers, wow is killbox haf
for old Chuck there bit, So Dodgers get to win
over the Diamondbacks. But tonight was a knight that belongs
to two sluggers, and the MVP debate rages. First tonight,
(03:36):
Aaron Judge said, all right, yeah, I know the odds
are MVP in the American League between me and cal
Raley have kind of narrowed. I had the lead for
a long time, but Rally keeps hitting home runs. But
I'm gonna hit home run number fifty and fifty one
tonight and I'm gonna take the lead in the MVP race.
There go, here's the draft to right center field.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
He is gonna do it.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Her baby got back home ran to the captain is
second tonight, Kember fifty one. That's form ice tonight and
having eight Wait, you know he's ready on the call,
right They heard Susan in the background there very quickly,
Uh the captain right where when they say the captain,
you're not talking about jew. I don't think you can
(04:19):
say that. You can say that, man? I mean yeah, yes,
technically he is the captain, but he's now the captain.
But he is the captain now. He is the captain now,
but he's not the captain. But if you're the captain,
now you're the captain. I mean we saw Tom Haiks
and getting the guy in captain Phillips. He said he's
the captain, but he's not. But he's the captain, the captain.
(04:40):
He's the captain now, but you have to say the
captain now, he's not the captain. He's not the guy
Jeter's the captain, right, you have to put a specificity
out of date, only twenty five captain. He's got the armband.
I'm gonna say, call your dad and asking this right now,
who's the captain? Ooh, he might say, Judge. He think
Walt would actually be up at this pool. I think
he ooh no, we probably would know. My dad's in
(05:02):
bed because that game we probably celebrated that for a while.
And now my dad would answer the phone. He looked
like Christopher Lloyd. His hair would all be up. He goes,
what's going what's happening, What's what's going on here? What
are we doing?
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (05:14):
So, now this about Aaron Judge before before we get
to cal rally Aaron Judge fifty one home runs now
on the season. We said this a few weeks ago now,
so I'm waiting for this to show up someplace tomorrow
because you know, like the last couple of days, boy
Off our Take showed up in a big way. Again,
send your checks to us courtesy of Oh yeah, we
get residuals, we so or awards or something. Judge is
gonna wind up at the end of his career. He's
(05:36):
thirty three now and see is another year, fourth year
in a row with fifty or more home runs. Right
you see the the rarefied air that he belongs to,
included including Babe Ruth. It's like, what, my goodness, fourth
for his career. Uh, three of the last four, three
of the last four, right, this is this is something
that that Babe Ruth has done. And only four guys
in the history of the game. Aaron Judge is gonna
(05:58):
wind up top five all time New York Yankee. And
this is the most decorated baseball team that we have
seen in the one hundred and forty ish years we've
seen baseball being going back to the New York Islanders,
U Islanders nice. So you have some kind of team
with that starts with Ruth and gerrig and then morphs
into Joe DiMaggio and Whitey Ford, and then you get
(06:19):
into Mantle and Maris, and then Munson and Reggie Jackson
and Jeter and Rivera and now Aaron Judge. Judge is
gonna be a top five all time yankee. And I'm
saying he's gonna he's not gonna even be in there,
just sneaking in the top five, like he might end
up number three. The numbers he is putting up his career.
You look at what he's done, like this is like
(06:41):
dwarfing some Demaggio stuff. Now Demagio had the streak and
he's married to Marilyn Roe, but like he's dwarfing those numbers.
Look at the his numbers look like what lou Gerrigg's
numbers and Babe Ruth's numbers look like numbers from the fifties,
or guys went sixty home runs fifty eight home runs,
not get one hundred and twenty five runs, and if
they did war it would be one point one one
point two. Like this is the kind of career that
(07:04):
Judge is having. It He's not just gonna be tough.
He's gonna be safely in the top five because at
thirty three he's not slowing down. You know, he'll DH
when it comes to the point where, all right, we
don't need you in the field, because, yes, as good
of a plus defender as Aaron judges the plus arm
that he has, clearly he's in the gate. He's there
for one reason. If it looks like the wear and
tear is getting to him, he'll DH eventually. You know,
(07:26):
by twenty forty they'll be out of the Stanton contract,
so someone else can DH. So you're gonna see that
he is still an extremely high level. He's got four
or five more years. Most likely that's a hit like this.
I mean, you look and they look like cartoon numbers. Again,
he's gonna be safely a top five all time Yankee.
Three hundred and sixty four career home runs, now over
eight hundred career RBI and at two ninety three batting average.
(07:49):
I think that's the thing that stands out to me
and all of it. We talk about sluggers, and you
may have that off that one year, the outlier where
everything clicks in the post Barry Buhns world, of course,
but when we look at what he's able to do,
one of the eight guys this year with a batting
average over three hundred three twenty eight, just a magnificent
(08:09):
run overall fifty one hovers, twenty nine doubles, two triples
just for giggles, and over all hundred RBI for the
fourth time in his career. It'd be amazing, right if
we can extrapolate this, say he's eighty percent of this
for the next five years. Now we're getting to the
five hundred home run mark and then some to where
(08:31):
we're watching and we've chronicled this certainly on the pitching side,
where we're kind of limping to a lot of what
used to be these giant milestones, right, guys staying healthy
and guys playing long enough to hit those. I mean,
look at last week. We finally got Mike Trout to
four hundred career home runs. That seemed like it was
going to be a thing that he was going to
seven years ago, right, and then it took him forever
(08:53):
to hit those final two. It was like one hundred
and fifty plate appearances or something to that. So for
Aaron Judge again always dangerous and kind of weird to
go across generations. But with the Yankees storied franchise. I mean,
this guy is you know, box office movie star cartoon character.
As you say, he looks like Gaston No One. It's
(09:15):
all runs like Gaston drops the ball the fifty inning
of World Series games like gastan Oh. And then he
watches Garrett Cole point to first base and not cover
Gaston on his special good expected. So there you go
for Aaron Judge. Now you get to the big topic
of the no. The big topic with the night comes
(09:38):
to us courtesy of a guy who as great as
I just told you, Aaron Judge, the year he's having,
the career he's going to be looked back at, he's
not the MVP, because tonight the guy that's gonna wind
up winning the MVP clinched it and he gets to
be our Express pros pro of the week. If you're
ready for a new job, let Express Deployment Professionals help
expresses hiring for jobs in a variety of industries. Job
(09:58):
Seekers never pay a fee. Express check out expresspros dot
com to find your location. That's expresspros dot com. And
when you hit home, run number sixty and you're a
switch hitting catcher. Of course you are the Express pros
Pro of the week. Climb on the right, down sixty
(10:23):
a catcher has hit sixty home runs. Your MVP movement
chilly at the long time. I'm standing up in the
(10:48):
studio Marinors Radio Network and JT the Brook on the
call right there, Maren's TV on the call right there.
Congrats to cal Rowley home run number sixty. Uh, he
is our Express pros Pro of the week. And look
for MVP. Right This went from Judge is the big favorite.
Then you watch Cal Rowley continue to hit home runs,
the big dumper, continuing to do something we've never seen before.
(11:09):
The odds of narrowed to the point where it's a
toss up. Attend at you with them right. You can
say many different things right and I'll give you. I'll
give you an appetize that I'll give you the main course.
Mariners won their division tonight. The Yankees can still win
their division. They're tied with the Blue Jays going into
the final weekend of the series. You know, long weekend
now with tomorrow being Thursday, but still big, big achievement
(11:31):
by the Mariners. The MVP is not Player of the Year.
It's the most valuable player. But that being said, when
you do something that we have never seen before in
baseball history and it's a big deal, it's not, Hey,
you see this guy at home runs from both sides
of the plate and the same week. No, No, when
you have a season as a catcher that nobody in
(11:56):
the history of the game has had. This is the
greatest hitting season by a catcher in baseball history. It's
now surpassed Mike Piazza, the big year he had back
in ninety eight with the Dodgers. We have never seen this, right,
never seen the switch hitting when you've never seen it,
And it's that kind of history. Yeah, you're the MVP. Right,
(12:17):
And I go back to we mentioned this earlier in
the show. I could give you a big laundry list
last year, why Francisco Lindor should have been the MVP
in the majors in the National League over Otani? Right,
what he did, how valuable he was to the Mets,
Otani as great as he was. If the Dodgers didn't
have Otani, they'd still be a playoff team. But in
the end, Shoe Heotani first fifty to fifty player in
(12:39):
MLB history history. So I said, I'm very happy for
Lindor to be a unanimous second place finisher for NLMVP, Like,
we've never seen that before. Yeah, that's the MVP. We've
never seen this from the catcher as a catcher in
one hundred and forty years.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
Man.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Yeah, cal Rawley's the MVP. Sorry, buddy is, I don't care.
He's in two fifty sixty home runs. He's gonna finish
with probably the Dodgers bullpen. He's gonna get a bunch
of at bats there, so maybe like seventy five runs
oh yeah, yeah, one hundred and fifty five RBIs by
the end of the season. He's got a thirty RBI weekend.
Like he's gonna feast on that bullpen this weekend. Uh yeah,
(13:18):
greatest year by Again, we've never seen this before. So
guess what. Yeah, he's the MVP. Yeah, I know that
you've got a war differential of about it two when
it comes judged to Raleigh eight nine to six nine
or seven. Uh, but you look at what he's done.
Talking about the catching position. One to catch every day,
(13:39):
but two to be great at it right, zero pass
balls on the year, throwing out twenty one percent of
would be Steelers nine nine to six fielding percent, like
all of that on top of all, right, yeah, he
was a he was a lump behind the plate. That's great. No, no, no,
he's actually a great catcher in addition to the prowess
(14:00):
at the plate. And yes, the batting average would be
nice if that was closer. Some of the other metrics,
Judge walks away. And that's the hard part, right for voters.
They're gonna be able to say T T tick checking
a bunch of boxes where Judge still wins out category
to category. But to your point, we've been waiting on
the breakthrough for the Mariners, and they do have other stars,
there's no question about it. We got Gene and we
(14:22):
got Rodriguez, and we got all those guys. Gino, I
should say, we've got Geno. But you're looking at just
ridiculous numbers. And we were doing the comparisons to Piazza,
bench and some of the all time greats six weeks ago.
Those things are so far in the rear view mirror,
(14:43):
and that's it's just a second season at this point. Yeah,
I really you're splitting hairs between the two of them. Yeah,
batting odds the last two days have been tied coming
into the game. Ten sixty home runs by a cat
that that should be it. Sometimes sometimes a number like that,
it cuts through the club. It's also a better year.
We say, yeah, well look at I mean, just from
(15:03):
the narrative of it, all right, we've seen this from Judge,
and look look at it this. Yes, we've seen this.
We've seen better. Sit That's the thing about how good
we've seen better seasons from Judge. You can't just rubber
stamp and say, well, another fifty zero one season. And
I hate that we can do that and say, well,
that's what we expect of you, so blank you you
you get nothing. But that's kind of the way these
(15:24):
awards work, right, is that we've got to break through.
And Raby's been fantastic the last couple of years, taking
nothing from it, but you go from being a thirty
four home run guy to sixty and you captivate baseball.
Go back to the All Star Game and the festivities
that he became one of the big storylines there, and
he's done nothing but augment the hyperbole thereafter exit at
(15:49):
about a Fresco exit swollen down the Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harmon. Uh, it's a lot
more baseball on the way. But coming up next, Do
we have a big NF story coming your way? You
thought all the drama with one NFL quarterback situation where resolved?
Oh no, it continues. That's next right here, Jason and

Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. Jason, I still can't believe the lead singer
of this band was in Nirvana. The stuff you learned
crazy the more you know. Yeah, whether it's like this day,
thirty four years ago or something in Nirvana released an
album of the lead was it never Mind? Nevermind came
out and it was the obligatory Here's a picture what
(18:48):
the baby looks like now no. Oh, okay, j it
was just no, because then there's lawsuits in chaos. Allow, yeah, yeah,
now hey, hey, speaking of losses of chaos. Frostburg and
Justin Frosburg back tonight after helping the Chargers out to
a three and oh record to start the Well Division wins.
Mind you, So I I I gotta, I gotta tell
you something, Justin. I I may need you at some
(19:10):
point to do me a solid and just have a
conversation with my next door neighbor. Okay, ah, that sounds
very weird. Dude, nice Abrams. No no, no, no, no, dude,
my next door neighbor art, nicest guy in the world, biggest, last, biggest,
Yes it's a no art art said art, it's art.
(19:32):
How it's art? Hell no art? Yes a art? Uh,
biggest Charger fan in the world, right the guy, him
and his wife are retired, They live next door. He
wears a Herbert jersey every week. He's the A lot
of people wear Herbert jersey around town these days. I'll
tell you, man, he is the biggest charges fan in
the world. And I and he knows. I said, oh, yeah,
we know. We talk about what I do. And I said, yeah,
(19:54):
my my producer produces the case. Kidding, he's like in
the booths with the guys. And I said, yeah, he's
so excited with the guys. So I'm like, okay, I'm
like wow, you like like Justin's like a bigger star,
you know than me. And I live next door to
the guy. Well, yeah, even before you told him that.
So we had a moment this weekend that I would
I would tell you about this really funny because we
(20:16):
have a TV outside, so in the backyard we can
we can watch and want to be outside making food
or being outside. So and he they live right next
door to us, and we're watching the Charger game and
it's the Herbert touchdown where he's going the he's running
the wrong way, his body's twisting, and he hits Keenan
Allen on that pass. Insane. Yeah, Couch, I mean he's back.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Man.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
I thought that was going to be the end of
Jim Harbaugh on the side. He was just gonna buckle
because it was everything he'd been talking about coming to
Fruition and it would explode his head. I mean we
talked about it last week. Justin Herbert is back to
being an m V. The m VP level he was
at a couple of years. I had to call a
doctor four hours after that throw. Oh my good, that
that I would do it? Yeah, that justin Herbert throw
(20:58):
was incredible. And of course the relationship with Keenan Allen
Keenan knowing where to be on that amazing. Right, So
the touchdown and and I and you were watching outside.
So now I just go whoa Like that was exciting.
I just go whoa. All of a sudden, I hear
from from his house here. Oh, and he sees it,
and he goes and then he yells, Jason, are you watching?
(21:20):
Like he's Lawrence from from what he calls from all
his face. Hey man, Lawrence, you want to come over it?
No way, man, Jason, You're not gonna blank my life
up too. Did you see that? Said? Yeah, that was amazing.
Oh my god, what he's yelling? Same bonding moments, Yeah,
(21:42):
separating you guys. He's like Wilson, except he was. He
was in his house watching the game, and he yelled,
starts screaming like a lunatic Jason watching because there's no
way he heard me yell that loud. There's no way,
Because I just went whoa, Like that was a great pass, right,
But you know he was like, you screamed it out loud?
(22:04):
Are you watching?
Speaker 4 (22:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Yeah, I watched. That was fantastic. Yeah yeah, starting to
pick up the converts. Man, Oh so I may need
you do me a solid frostburger. And just talked him
on the phone one day at some point. Yeah, that's
knocknappen hundred dollars cash, no check. It's like a cameo. Oh,
you could do a cameo for him, right, just got
to sell it for cameo, do a cast. It was
(22:26):
such an office face moment. He's whoa, it's a great story.
We're yelling back, and he's just like, I'm not I
got no time.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
No.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
I mean, I'm just saying to I talked to him
for like a minute or two, that's all. I'm not
saying to be on the phone in it for twenty
minutes and to the history of the Chargers. I love
what you do. Thank you, all right. He just wants
to say, hey, what's it like in the booth? What's
it like the games? Well, you know, can you hear
in the cannon goes off like that? That's a you know,
how many stats does Sager had just did you got
Keenan Allen's stats for days? Like, yeah, that's all days,
(22:57):
that's all, you know, it's longer than I'm gonna go with. No,
Pam's gotta say, penguins stop yelling, Yo, I go, I
go stop. It's the middle of a Sunday afternoon at
four o'clock. Can yell, we can yell back and forth.
It's not three in the morning, and there's skunks running
around going go get that skunk, get out of here.
(23:17):
And even if it was yeah, your house, Yeah, that's
my house, my backyard, my rules. Every times my grandfather
said that to me, my house, my rules, just like that,
a PTSD with that, and then he held up the
list of all the numbers he never gave you. Oh yeah,
Poppy ruined my dating career in the late nineteen eighties.
(23:37):
He kept you out at a straight path. Big moment there,
obviously forget you out in trumble.
Speaker 6 (23:42):
So what sound was louder Wich stream was louder him
When Herbert threw it to Canaan for the touchdown, the
impossible throw cotch okay, or when the Jets lost to
the Bucks, You're.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yell uh no, because I knew that as soon as
we blocked the kick and ran it back for a
touchdoy I said, we're gonna lose this game twenty nine
to twenty seven. I know it. I know they're celebrating
on the sideline like the game is over. Aaron Glenn
is dancing and every day you know, last one, I
can you? Yeah, there's the answer, he is it. It
takes a while to build a culture. Really, he takes
a while, man, and he learned a valuable lesson Sunday. Dude,
(24:14):
you loft to the creamsicles. You're celebrating here and you're
going over the top. So there's still a minute fifty left.
You gotta stop that.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Man.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
You're the head coach. You're the head coach. Come on.
It's one of the greatest moves ever.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Though.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
No, they don't need to see Aaron Glenn to earth
Wind and Fire anymore. The greatest non verbal move by
a coach ever. Right, we got plenty of rants. We
got Dennis Green, we got a lot of herm Edwards,
we got Jim Mora. I could do this all day.
We played Mike Gundy. We can celebrate coaches and being
in front of a microphone and screaming forever. We do
(24:47):
not have a lot of dancing coaches. No, And there's
a reason why. Because coaches don't dance. They still have
a game to coach. You may never need a dance
and for you to coach, okay me, dance, you coach players,
dance in the end zone after the player you coach.
Because there's still a minute fifty left and I knew
we're gonna lose this game. Can we stick it up
(25:07):
with dance? Dance dance? It felt like the game was over.
The thirty one yard kickoff return, which I mean, it's done,
it's done. We're losing this game. We're losing this game.
I couldn't even enjoy the block kick that much because
I knew we were gonna lose. It's a lot of time.
Oh sorry, buddy. Meanwhile, I think, no, I think we
might have been the one national media entity to go.
(25:31):
You know, the kickoff return was the big thing, not
what Baker Mayfield did. After the fact that day you
had a thirty one yard return that just deflated they.
I mean the Bucks just did that. The Bucks, they
were so calm, was like me eating a sand Champion's
gonna sit and eat the sandwich. That's how kind I'm
gonna get to the end of it, just like the
Bucks that we're getting down the field. Kick a field
goal at no time left. That's what they did. Yeah,
and then a little easy feeling. That's what we didn't
(25:53):
play the Eagles though. On Sunday DJ now the other
big quarterback story of today. We're still getting a bit
of drama as Giants head coach Brian Dable announces that
not only is Jackson Dart starting for the Giants now,
he is the QB one for the remainder of the season.
As long as he is upright, he'll be the quarterback
(26:14):
of the New York Giants.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
Now.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Last hour we talked about him and what a great
move this was to own it because he's gonna get
the blame one way or another if they wind. If
Jackson Dart stinks, he's getting fired. If Jackson Dart is
really good, well maybe Brian Dable is the guy. So
stepping up and saying this is my decision, that's the
(26:36):
smartest thing Dable could have done. And we can hear
from Brian Dable right now.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
I met both with Russ yesterday and Jackson privately and
Russ was nothing but a pro, which I expect them
to be. It's my decision. We're going with Jackson. We're
gonna get him ready to play this week and the
remainder of the season. He's gonna do everything he can.
Russ will be the backup decision, and we're going with Jackson.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
And then I met with Sierra, told her, I told
the kids what was going on, said, we're not buying
nano bubbles anymore. Everybody my decision now, whether it's his
decision or not. The fact that he owns it. He's
tied to Jackson Dart quarterback they took in the first round.
I've seen him before, build up a quarterback that people
had questions about into somebody that got a one hundred
and sixty million dollar contract in Daniel Jones. So the
(27:23):
smart thing, I'm gonna own this because I'm getting fired
if he stinks. But if he's good, I can be
the guy. And the Giants don't have to win games.
They just have to show spark and offensive enlightenment and
put some points on the board and give the team
some excitement, the fans some excitement. And he can because
you have some pretty good weapons on that team, You're
gonna have the emergency of Cam Scataboo. You have Molik Neighbors,
(27:45):
Wondelle Robinson has always been an underrated weapon. Now that
they have there, he's gonna find a way to make
to put Jackson Dart in a position to succeed. Now,
maybe not this Sunday, because wow, good luck against the Chargers.
Although the charges do have to go three thousand miles.
It is the thing. Yes, but I'll tell you this
smart for Brian Dable, and not only that. Dart's gonna
(28:08):
succeed again. It may not be this week, but he
is confident. He's got a strong arm. He can put
the football in tight windows. There has been no moment
since he got drafted where I said, ah, it's too
much for him. They could have gone into the season
with him starting, but because they signed Wilson and they
signed Jamis Winston. Okay, but he is gonna be really
(28:30):
good the time kind of year he's gonna have, he
will be Joe Burrow light. Look at you. That's kind
of the season I see from. Not every week is
he gonna be great, but he's gonna have a lot
of weeks where man three hundred yards and three touchdowns.
He is fearless with the football. He can make some
plays with his legs too. That's kind of where I
see him as kind of a Joe Burrow light and
it's gonna be excitement for the Giants. I'll go into
(28:50):
next season thinking we can do it, and the Giants
will have figured stuff out because we have our star quarterback. Now,
good luck Jets is still looking for a quarterback across town.
But I have no doubt because every up of the
way Dart has shown you I'm ready for this again.
Part of the education is gonna be the Chargers defense
Eagles defense, So you know, after the Saints have got
the Eagles defense like twice in three weeks. So yeah,
(29:11):
it's gonna be a little rocky at times, but it's
also gonna look really really good at times. Jackson Dart
is the real thing. Every single time he has had
some test to pass, he has not only passed it,
he made Russell Wilson seem like an afterthought. And that's
why everybody is foaming at the mouth to get him
out there right now, to get him to make plays
with his legs, to see an offense that now you
(29:31):
could take advantage of different things because he's a more
talented quarterback. You got Russell. Wilson's at the end. What
are you gonna do, Hey, Russ, throw the moon ball,
Maybe milite nighbors will catch it. There's so many things
you're hamstrung with. Because Wilson's at the end, Dart's at
the beginning. You're gonna see a creative offense. It's gonna
cause teams problems. Watch out, Jackson. Dart is for real.
He's gonna have a big, big year. Well, it'd be
(29:51):
curious to watch this offense, Evevolve to your point, it
was about the battering ram juggernaut style of scataboo. After
Tracy gets it's hurt. Wasn't doing much on the ground,
but he was an effective receiver out of the backfield. Well,
now he's done with the shoulder, so Devin Singletary steps up.
Go stash him, folks. He'll have some reps in the
offense as well, because he's a good pass protector, so
(30:14):
he'll see some time there. But he can make plays
with his legs, something Russ can't do. Right now, you
could play a little bit off script, which means Wandel
Robinson becomes that much more of a weapon. You look
at Andrew Thomas's back on the offensive line, so you
feel a little better that your guy's going to be
protected now. Russell Wilson, I Garan dan Tea the night
of the draft said when they traded back up and
(30:36):
drafted Jackson Dart threw his hands up, going all right,
what am I doing now? Because he signed at the
end of March and now you're bringing in the kid.
He's like, I know, I'm a placeholder from day one,
and he got a couple of weeks. He had the
big moments against the Cowboys, and he's saying all the
right things. But now it's help Jackson Dart develop tough
outing here, not that there's a lot of soft spots,
(30:58):
like that's the thing, pick and choose, and we had
the all right, it'll be a month because it would
have been a month, yeah, until until the Saints game,
so you could installed it one more week. But it's
not like the rest of the schedule has a bunch
of cupcakes. So there's gonna be some teachable learning moments.
Maybe Dable, you know, catches lightning in the bottle. Maybe
that defense lives up to the preseason. Hype keeps them
(31:21):
in games and they can steal a couple and all
of a sudden you're playing some meaningful football. But with Dable,
I could just see his end of that conversation with
Shane and with the merrit family. Okay, and he turned
to the rest of the coach said, it's done and
there's nothing we could do about it. There was nothing
we could do about It's nothing we full good fellas,
we have to own it. This is where we're funny.
(31:41):
There was nothing on Jimmy. There was nothing we could do.
And maybe he smashes the phone against the table and
away we go. But here we are. We turn the
page and it gives us another great storyline to follow.
So get ridy. Joe Burrow. Light for Jackson Dart this season.
Is he gonna stay healthy? Though?
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Why do you gotta do that to the guy if
you're going to compare him. That's why I take it
all the way, That's why, that's why light. He won't
get as injured as Joe Burrow. There's Joe Burrow light.
There you go, so he'll have but not okay, okay,
there you're a good yeah, Okay, time not to find
out what's trending in the wide world of sports from
someone who's been called the Russell Wilson of Fox Sports
(32:21):
Radio because there's been times when she's on a flight
she's doing high knees at thirty thousand feet. It's Monty Belonga.
Speaker 7 (32:28):
I would be doing high knees at thirty thousand just
to stretch. Yeah, gotta stay warm, gotta stay warm.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
And hydrat guys, and hydrated absolutely exactly.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Socks, nano bubbles. Oh, I'm at I wear compression socks
on a plane now. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (32:43):
Listening to Sierra all of it, sure, all of it,
all of it, high knees and listening to what is
that song?
Speaker 7 (32:52):
Alex, you're my music guy. That's Sierra's song for the movies.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Step up, step up in it to win it. Yes, Okay,
that's not it, but yes, but I was gonna say,
you can dlop a million dollars in front of me.
Just you guys. We know we all know this song.
Speaker 8 (33:07):
We're just not thinking we all know this song. I'm
there you go, come on, everybody knows the song. All right,
thank you, Alex, start coming in clutch.
Speaker 7 (33:19):
There there we go.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
All right, let's song or it really will Okay, Okay,
he just picked something yeah and was like great, Yes,
that's great, I gotta finish. I'm really sure Russell Wilson
is not married to Missy Elliott.
Speaker 8 (33:39):
But not one hundred percent, one hundred percent that Cal
Rawley should probably be the al MVP in my opinion,
over twice today, bringing his total to sixty as a.
Speaker 7 (33:49):
Mariners cruise pass the Rockies nine to two.
Speaker 8 (33:52):
He joins Babe Ruth, Roger Marris, and Aaron Judge is
the only players in American League history with sixty homers
in the season. Also, Seattle has when the Ale for
the first time since two thousand and one. Speaking of
Aaron Judge, he also homer twice today, bringing his total
to fifty one.
Speaker 7 (34:06):
Yankees outscored the White Sox eight to one.
Speaker 8 (34:08):
He joins Babe Ruth, Mark McGuire, and Sammy Sosa as
the only players to have fifty home runs in four
different seasons. Kyle Schwarber homer twice. Everybody just homer twice,
bringing his total to fifty six. Phillies crushed the Marlins
eleven to one. They also secured a first round by
with this win. The Dodgers had to use eight different pitchers,
but they finally beat the Diamondbacks five to four and
eleven innings, Tommy edmund with the clutch RBI single in
(34:31):
the eleventh inning.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Their magic number is down to one. Yes, you know
who didn't homer twice the Mets. The Mets win have
a one game lead for the wild card. Yes, Cubs
beat the Mets ten to three. Pirates edge of the
Reds four three and eleven innings. Brewers took down the
Padres three to one. Right now, the Reds and the
Diamondbacks are both one game back of the Mets for
the final log card spot in the National League. The
(34:54):
A's shut out the Astro six zero. Houston is now
one game back of the Tigers for the for the
final waldcard spot in the AL. Tigers lost today. Detroit
has lost eight in a row. Guardians defeated them. They're
now in first place in the AL Central. Red Sox
top the Blue Jay seven to one. New York and Toronto.
That's the New York Yankees and Toronto are tied for
(35:15):
the top of their division. Just so much going on,
and also Thursday Night football less than twenty four hours away.
Week four Seahawks are listing running back Zach Charbona is
questionable for that game against the Cardinals. Also, oh, you guys,
and I tell you my parents are celebrating their forty
eighth wedding anniversary today, right, forty eight.
Speaker 7 (35:38):
Yes, they're probably a little tipsie right now.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
Somewhere saves the Dodgers have this year pretty much, we're
celebrating one year for every save. Yep. Yeah, well congratulations, yeah,
eight forty eight. Yeah, right, that's awesome. Forty eight forty eight.
(36:01):
And how many brothers sisters do you have?
Speaker 7 (36:03):
I have two older brothers.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Okay, all right, yes, all right, I'm the baby, so
I'm the favorite, you know, that's true, that's the favorite.
And the girl.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Well don't you still get mail at their house? Yes?
I do, Okay, I do.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
You got to get a little more.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Independent, but no, no, look man, you utilize that as
long as you can.
Speaker 7 (36:20):
Absolutely, as long as you can do.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Your parents still do your laundry sometimes.
Speaker 7 (36:26):
Okay again, when I go home and I just oh,
I forgot I left laundry.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
I have moms And then a week later, you know,
like you're home from college except a while ago, right, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (36:38):
You know sometimes I do.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
You know, you know my mom doesn't mine.
Speaker 6 (36:41):
She does.
Speaker 7 (36:42):
I only take the nice stuff to her because I
know she'll take she'll wash it. I'm very particular with
how I wash clothes.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Trust her. Yes, that's good.
Speaker 7 (36:50):
Yes, So at the home, I don't know what the
boyfriends do. He's just throwing it in the washer.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
I ain't got time for that. I need somebody to
be delicate with my things. Well, that's awesome, and congratulations
to your parents for I needed that addition to the
end of that sentence. Yes. So, speaking of Thursday night football,
