Greetings, Welcome inside, Happy Thursday Jason Smith Show with my
base friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
You selfish bastard.

(01:00):
The Giants lead the Eagles right now, twenty to seventeen,
and oh to be a flying the wall of every
Philadelphia sports fan who turned over from the Phillies Dodgers
to go ow. We're losing this guy, Jackson Dark. I
can't wait what tappen? I gonna turn this off. I
gotta are the Flyers on. This is I can't believe this.
This is awful to be a flying the wall in

(01:21):
all those houses. The Flyers lost to click click. But
it's only one game, yeah, but the one. Yeah, But
you didn't get.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
To say, all right, it's beginning a new great season. No,
they lose to the page.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
When the Sixers, Oh, you're terrible.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I don't When when's Villanova start basketball?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
When when do we have that? This is awful? This
is it? You need something?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Oh, I mean really just to be it, to to
be at a fly on the wall for Philadelphia fans
right now?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Click?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Come on, how would you love to be sitting at
a bar just that guy sitting in the corner, just
sipping away on your or chewing your guinness plug, just
watching the world melt. I mean, Mark Ruffalo got kidnapped
in the Pennsylvania Woods.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
What Martha Plint is in on it? I mean, it's
been a rough last in on She's in on it.
Martha Blimpton.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
You good to see Martha Clinton still.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Look at this?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
That's great.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
I can't But now now I got back to beautiful girls,
and I come on, I can't watch any sports anymore
sports and sports doesn't exist in Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Doesn't exist.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
It's a lot of pain.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
It's awful.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Do you do you just automatically go running up the
stairs to the Rocky Statue to find something good.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I need solace. We have to all just sit there
and just sit around it and like pray to the gods.
We get a new Rocky movie or something.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
And lining up around the block to just have some consolation.
Cheese steak, I mean, good lord, And who is this
dart guy? Who is this dart?

Speaker 1 (02:37):
I can't who? I thought it was Russell Wilson. I
really was looking for Eli Manning. Who is this dark
guy that just carving us up? I don't understand. I'm
gonna go back to the post game now.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Post game for the Phillies. I mean that that'll be gold.
I mean, we had it the other night. You can
imagine they're at each other's throats by this point. I mean,
there's just so much going on.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
One of the.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Wildest games, eleven innings of absolutely, I mean, just chaos,
like decision after decision you're scratching your head going why,
huh what? And then the final play, I think Monsei's
door was cracked open over at the news desk. I'm
hoping we didn't bleed onto the air cause there were
expletives flying as to what is going on. Dodgers and

(03:23):
Phillies tied it one in the eleventh. An absolute fantastic
playoff game, throwback to when pictures were dominant. Rob Thompson
is bringing in every single starting picture he had. Carlton, yeah,
he might get a little bit.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
I still think that's a ball move to first base
Carlton has I still still think that's the buck. But
bringing in everybody. A Lozardo comes in and and it was.
It was an incredible game. Rookie Sasaki goes three, a
relief of the Dodgers. U Vessie gets out of a
jam of his own creation in the top of the eleventh,
and this is how it ends. Bases loaded, bottom of

(03:59):
the eleventh. This is after Ryan Kirkering comes in, had
a pretty good year for Philadelphia and walks Will Smith
to load the bases. Okay, so bass is loaded after
a single puts runners at first and third. Bass is
loaded and Andy Pa has us up and this is
what happens. This is the Philadelphia Phillies radio network.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
The one swinging a broken back comebacker Kirkering knocks it down,
picks it up, play home to the backstop, and the
season is over. The Dodgers rushing.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Out Kirkering, who stands with his hands on his knees, bent.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Over, and.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Start to playing the all you had to do is
just I just sit there and just here there's a
throat of the plate, and the season is overas over
all that call was missing is And now they joined
the Mets and can't go Hey hey hey, Yankees lose
last night, Phillies lose tonight, both out of the playoffs.
That's a Mets win. That's the happiest. I can wear

(05:06):
my Mets gear again. Man, that's the happiest here since
Jonah Tong hurt. I don't care when it's the World Series.
Now it doesn't matter, man, it doesn't matter. Well, I
mean he would be wearing L's still. But that's okay, man,
I can wear my gear again. I'm like, okay, all right,
been vanquished. It's exciting. They didn't get much further than

(05:27):
we did.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Look, I'd love to be able to give you a
different kind of take on this play for Kirkering's perspective,
and look, this is He's going to be all over
social media. This is going to be a play that
haunts him for his entire life. Paz hits a grounder
back to the pitcher and it's a decent it's hitting
at decent. It's not it's not a rope. It's not
one of those boy you know, exit velocity one hundred

(05:48):
miles an hour. But he has He's got a pretty
good swing on it, and Kirkering knocks it down. The
ball is in front of him the entire time. He
has all kinds of time to throw to first base.
Right he has all kinds of time, and Kim is
on third base, and he's one of the two fastest
players in baseball.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
You get these guys in baseball. We're on that side
of the diamond right there, Trey Turner and Kim. He's
the fastest guy in baseball. And you can see real
Muto standing in front of him pointing, go to first,
Go to first, Go to first. But Kirkering panics, obviously,
because I don't know why he pad. I can see
the play. I'm sure what happened was the ball's in

(06:28):
front of me. Everybody's going crazy. The stands are screaming.
I see the play in front of me, and I
don't seek him. I'm gonna throw home. And instead of
knowing that, Okay, what does your training tell you? What
is your what is all your baseball knowledge tell you?
Pick it up and go to first Paz is halfway
down the line. You have a It is a close play,
it's probably within a step and a half at first base,

(06:50):
but it's an easy play. Seems you pick it up
and throw. But he's thinking it's fifty it's it's thirty feet,
forty feet in front of me, whatever it is. And
all I gotta do is is throw home. It's a
force out and he throws it wild to the plate.
The game winning run scores. The Dodgers go on to
the NLCS and the Phillies go home, and I watch

(07:10):
Kirkeram come off, and I said, oh my god, I
feel so bad for this kid. And Rob Thompson gave
him a big hug after and talk to him after
the game. And you see that and go, oh my goodness,
like this is gonna be in his in his head
the rest of his career. But look, I can't he
can't cut it up. You gotta know to go to
first base. There's there's there's nothing I can tell. There's
nothing that will tell you. Hey, thinking this thing. I mean,

(07:31):
you have to know. It's just like any other any
other player in the field. It has to know when
the ball is hit to me, what am I doing
with it?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Right?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
You have to know, Okay, what am I doing here?
If the ball is hit back to me. I got
the fastest guy.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
On the team, and the second fastest guy second fan
at worse second with the guy in baseball trying to
score from third base, it's gonna break on contact.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
So what am I going to do? Where am I
going with the ball? If it's hit to me, I
gotta go to first If it's a slow roller in
front of me, and then I can shovel to the plate,
But anything else, I gotta go to first base. And
that was not something that he went through and instead
it was a panic and and the throw to the
plate was bad.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
I don't know if he would have got him.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Because real Muto wasn't standing like give me, you know,
could you stand like a first baseman, like hey, give
me the ball?

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Right?

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Like he's saying like he's got his left foot on
the back part of the plate, and so any throw
that comes in now it's awkward for him to get
it because he's not ready for it. He's not he's
also not ready for the play. We're going, okay, if
the ball is hit here, he should be standing on
the plate ready for a throw. Still point to throw
to first base, but still you got to get in

(08:39):
a position where I'm going to It's only a force play.
You have to be in positioned to get the ball.
And instead, his left foot is on the back of
the plate, so when the throw comes wild, he can't
just go crazy and go get it because he's gonna
run into the runner. And that's how the ball.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Not that he would have stayed on the plate, but
that would have made it a little bit better play.
Maybe the throw would have been better had he gotten
out there and gotten on the plate and said, okay,
I'm here for a throw at the plate. That was
a fail by Kirkery. It was a fail by reil Muto.
And the Phillies are going home and you see the
replay from the side angle. All the Phillies infield just
put their hands on their heads like what just and

(09:13):
Bryce Harper just stands at first base like I can't
believe that just happened. Now they're going home? Yeah, I mean,
like just the lack of communication before the balls put
in play right, and everybody's got to know what they're doing.
Catcher doesn't set up properly. He's pointing and literally jumping
up and down throw at the first base, so you
don't even get that. You've got haz not moving well

(09:35):
down the line, whatever's going on there, But you had
plenty of time to turn and make your throw. I
just we've talked about fundamentals. We talked a lot about
the Yankees going home, the little league comments that were
made throughout the year that came to fruition, and once again,
a team goes home because they can't execute a basic
baseball play. Oh man, if that happened to the end,

(09:56):
that's how the Yankees went home.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Though, Like goodness, all right, everybody, what's the play? Take
the easiest out? Well, that play home wasn't the easiest out.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
No, I mean that look, and that's a pressure situation
that you weren't ready for. And you know this is
what that's what sends teams home, right. I mean this
is where you have to know like all of those
things like defensively, and you look around baseball and you go, okay,
maybe it's not just the Yankees. Maybe maybe it's it's
less of an attention to detail overall that we're seeing

(10:26):
in this playoffs, because we see things like hey, on
bunt plays, knowing that if we're gonna execute this, butnt
we have the slowest runner possible at second base? Can
we really pull this bunt off when we had a
guy that's not gonna get a great jump?

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Can we do it?

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Like you see some like I see so many things
in the game, some some ancillary parts and complimentary parts
of big plays, like hey, they weren't ready for that
part of the play either. So it's not just hey,
feel the ball, go to first base, like you see
the real Muto.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Dude, as soon as you hit that, stand on the
plate ready. He may have to come to you. What
do you do?

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Why are you pointing throat? I mean yes, point to throat,
be standing there ready for the ball?

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Yeah? First first, first, first first, but stand there ready
for the ball?

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Yeah, you got to You gotta give him optionality and
we didn't see that again. And going back to I mean,
the Dodgers executed the perfect wheel play. We've broken it
down a million aways till Sunday on that. But bunting
in general is also something you don't do very often,
which means your degree of difficulty in executing it properly
is going to be low. Now, now we actually saw

(11:21):
a legit sacrifice bunt yesterday. I was like, eh, one
of those got down. No pop ups, no uh two
ard hits, so the lead runner gets cut down. All
of those we actually saw it executed. You put it
in the.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Louver, hanging the loaf, hanging the loaf, exit out by
a Fresco exit swalling dome. Jason Smith, Mike Harmon Live
from the Man, I'll tell you and Dave Robert Look,
we'll get into this game. There's a lot to get
into your Dave Roberts escapes. You know, a big line
of questioning after game going, dude, you take out glassnowy
after eighty three pitches, Dude, what's wrong with you?

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Man? What are you doing?

Speaker 1 (11:53):
You're bringing a guy that gives up a run right
away like that seventh inning for the Dodgers. That's everything
that could set the Dodgers home. Dave Roberts bullpen decisions,
the bullpen itself and their defense. Can we all contributed
to that Philadelphia Phillies run?

Speaker 2 (12:08):
That's act?

Speaker 3 (12:08):
But can we get both managers together and we just
pin ball questions? Hey, show, Hey, Otana o'tani hasn't hit
the broadside of a bar in this entire series. Where
are you walking him to get to Mooky Bennet's Yeah,
that might have been the dumbest thing. Let's just keep
going on down. All right, let's go back to Dave Roberts,
You're next.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
I laughed my ass off when they did that. Is
that bat before that?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Guys?

Speaker 4 (12:29):
I think he's struck out in three pitches?

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Oh he did?

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Yeah, yeah, Oh it was awful. And he's waving at
the ball. He's turned like his mechanics are completely just gone.
Right now, he's he's seeing ghosts. Just a miserable at
bat after miserable at bat, and you bail him out, Hey,
take the automatic four and Mookie Betts is licking his chop.
What was he eight of eighteen in those scenarios? I
think was the data that flashed up and then he

(12:53):
immediately walks so absolute chaos. Dodgers advance. Now he got
the Cubs up three nothing on the Brewers here top
of four. H Boyd getting after it. So here we
here we go.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
But man, I'll tell you what, uh, you have to
have thoughts for Philadelphia fans right now, not just the Phillies.
The Giants have now opened up a ten point lead.
Old leg Scatamu twenty seven seventeen midway through the third quarter.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
That guy is a house. The Juggernaut was added again
at the goal line. I'm telling you, man, that second
touchdown run, Man, that is that is everything right day.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Hey, hey, you know, reach out to uh, to a
Philly sports fan, you know, and just make sure they're
okay all right, because I got because tonight might not
be a great night for them.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
What's the official beer of Philadelphia? This watch out of
Iron City and that's Pittsburgh, that's Pittssburgh and maybe maybe Peel's,
I don't know, Peels bar Bottles Cores No thatching, that's
in Denver chasing. Both of their teams lost last weekend
if you remember, yeah, and they were on the brink
the fans, Oh no, last night, the Giants win this game. Well,
I don't know. Yeah, right Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I mean

(13:59):
you had a sandwich of a mess Elle sandwich el
sandwich of mess.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
And so is it oh maybe? Okay? Sure?

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Is it just an overall Pennsylvania beer. Yeah, there's gotta
be some kind of some kind of local Philly beers.
You like, you're out there in Philly and you're crying
in the beer. Let me know what it is? Got
schwollend do, Matt? How about a pres watch? Or if
you're Jason Smith, you would say, Hey, you know I'm
gonna get a cheese steak.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I think that's what you do. I need some extra win.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
I'm gonna go out. I'm gonna go down with you.
I definitely whizz wit never whiz without extra whiz. Wait,
in fact, just.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Give me the win.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Just give me the whiz.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Do give me the whiz. It's all I want.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
I want to just give me the whiz on a
big piece on big pizza bread. Just give me that exit.

Speaker 1 (14:39):

you got, ty Shirt? Remember when I told you off
air about the Giants and the Eagles yesterday, you said, Okay,
well you know what, We're gonna do that coming up next.
We're gonna do that coming up next, because Alex Tyshert
now is like Frankenstein's Monster, where he's learning about sports
at a rate where he could take over the world.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Is he like an AI bot that's been actualized?

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Wait till I tell you, and I you know, and
I will tell the story will because I will tell
the truth as to what Alex Tyshert said yesterday. And
really I may have to call our managers at Fox
Sports Radio and say, hey, you got to do me
a solid on something.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
More on this game coming up next right here?

Speaker 1 (15:38):
The Eagles are in a lot of trouble Chasing and

Speaker 3 (16:19):
I hate that song.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
I'm standing up in the studio. Philly lost.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
It couldn't make a throw to the plate and the
catcher wasn't ready.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
For it any way, And the pause is the hero.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
And people turned over to the Eagles game and they
see the score. This one's nod in their favor. There's
greased up poles downtown. They're gonna start climbing them now.

(17:02):
Even the Flyers couldn't win. There's no real big hope,
cause the Sixers are awful. What are they saying in
Philadelphia we hate sports. We hate sports all the time.
Now even the Union, I hate them too. If only

(17:27):
you can carry a tune in a bucket, you'd be dangerous.
Fox Sports Radio, we got an auto two in your ass.
The Jason Smith Show of Mike Harmon, Live from the
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
The Giants lead the Eagles right now, twenty seven seventeen.
Late in the third quarter. However, Jackson Dart on a scramble,
gets down, gets hit a couple of times in the
helmet Johnson dragging him down. Looks like there's helmet to helmet,
a little bit on the he's hitting the shoulder. Then

(18:02):
he gets hit again, going down. He is being attended
to on the field. Russell Wilson right now is warming
up frantically on the sideline. And for this to happen
now when Giants fans are sitting here going, my goodness, man,
and it's tough for me, Mike Harmon, it is tough
for me. Good I know it's tough for you to
watch Jackson Dart and Cam Scataboo. And now the Giants

(18:23):
are fun, they're young. They found their quarterback clearly, Jackson
Dart is the guy. The energy he brings to the team,
the fearlessness with which he plays kind of has a
little bit of Baker Mayfield to his game. The Giants
they take a chance in the draft and they hit
their quarterback. They hit a running back that people thought, Ah,
how effective is this guy really gonna be in the NFL?

(18:44):
And all of a sudden, the Giants have hope. Everybody
loves it, and I watch a Jets go man, we're
gonna go, oh to seventeen. It's tough for me to
see that.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Mike Harmon, No, after a lifetime of hoping you were
finally on proper ground. I mean, your guy was supposed
to build a culture. I might have heard that from someone.
I Oh, anyway, we'll push that aside for a moment,
but yeah, Scatabo is one of the most fun stories
of the year.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
In Jackson Dart.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
They trade back up into the back end of the
first round and he sits, bides his time, and once
it's time to take Russ off the burner, he comes in.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
He plays.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
The one question that we'd had, and we'd asked this
quite a bit, is I don't want to change a
guy's style to that what makes him extra special, right,
special thrower of the football. A lot of starts, all
of that stuff, but the plays with his legs, Like
we talked about it with Cam Newton, We've talked about
it with so many other quarterbacks. Eventually you shift and
there's more of the fifty to fifty and eventually pocket

(19:42):
throwing in theory is the lifeline that you.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Want to go to.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
For Jackson Dart, we've watched him run with reckless abandons,
some huge plays. This one on a scramble unfortunately gets
hit twice glancing blow. It look like from the side,
a little bit of helmet and then the helmet goes
into a sh shoulder and down he crumples. So hopefully
he's okay. But yeah, they're one of the most fun
stories going. Are they good?

Speaker 2 (20:06):
No?

Speaker 3 (20:06):
But they got two guys that are really entertaining. And
that's the thing is is you need to say, who
are we right?

Speaker 5 (20:11):
Who?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
What's our identity?

Speaker 2 (20:12):
And now clearly they know.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Jackson Dart is our quarterback, right and look is it
is it gonna manifest itself in tons of wins this year?

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Probably not. They're having a big night tonight again through
big Robinson is good. Uh, you know, look they'll get
neighbors back next year, obviously, say little Jordan Humphrey. You know.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
We got four catches, got four.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Catch It's it's tough and it's good to see Jackson
Dart jog off the sideline. Looks like he's going he
may be going right to the tent. Yeah, I mean
to check it right now.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
He's going right to the tent to get checked.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
But he did get up and jog off the field,
so that part of it seems like it's okay.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
I think it's.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Brian Dable trying to get into the tent and he
wants to know what's going on.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
They wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
How long do I have to work with Russell Wilson?

Speaker 2 (20:59):
How long can I? Hey, I want to be in here.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
No, this is like in the in the TV shows
where they go, hey, we got to talk to the
kid by himself. The dad's gonna want to be in there. No, no, no,
you got to you gotta tell the dad.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
He can't know.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
I had that happen to me a little over a
year ago. My daughter is she's in a game and
she goes up for a header. Girl comes up underneath
her and catches her eye just right, splits it like
deep cut and just explodes into blood. Right, And so
she's got she's getting attention on the side, and as
they're attending to her, she's she's still barking out defensive

(21:31):
instructions on the sideline. The opposing coach, who was fifteen
feet away, was not terribly pleased. But we go to
the hospital to get her check. They've got a game
later on that day, right, they win, They're they're playing
deeper into this tournament, and so like I'm getting texted
from the coach everybody, she's gonna be able to go?
I don't know. And then finally they pull her away
from me. They pull her in the room. Yeah, like

(21:52):
five people are in there. You got the doctor, treaty
or you got a nurse they brought down. Someone's got
this giant binder like and they separate and it's like
she's waving at me, smiling, And ten minutes later they
come back. I go, that was the dad. Is dad
forcing you to go back and play?

Speaker 6 (22:10):
Right?

Speaker 3 (22:11):
It's like, yep, you know exactly, that's it. Every question
was is he gonna force you back on? Because she
was asking to go play. She's like, can we stitch
it up? Can I wear you know what, the protective
little little cap or whatever? And they're like, that's not
your dad. Jedi's like, you don't know my dad at all.
But certainly I've seen that in action.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
I've been there because Dable really looked like he tried
to get into the tent.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
They were like, you can't.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
And now he is screaming at somebody on the sideline.
I don't know what look look, Scataboo tries to go
into the tent. They let Scataboo in. He goes in
the tent with Jackson.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Don't you with Jackson's going right? I mean, I mean maybe,
I mean I made Jason.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Unless you're a doctor, you're not getting in right.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
But Scataboo tried to get Scataboo got in seconds. He
just made he a Scataboo. Are you gonna stop him?
But he's the juggernaut. But somebody he's yelling at someone
on the sideline. I can't tell if it's an NFL
I assumed. I'm just saying I'm assuming. I'm assuming it's
an NFL official of some kind that told him you
can't be in there. He's got to be evaluated, you know, independently.

(23:16):
And he is screaming at this guy like it's just
a guy in a trench in a trench coat.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
I's he's clothed. He's more than a trench coat. He's
on the spideline in a suit with a trench coat.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Anytime you say trench coat, everybody immediately like our range
certainly that was that was the stranger danger look out
for the guy in the trench coat. Now that was
alwayst like the movies in the seventies. Yes, the woman
would show up at the house wearing nothing but a Trusty.
You had that side of it too. I mean it
cut both ways. So he's screaming at somebody on the side.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
We don't know who it is, and Dable is really
not and he keeps he's he's shaking his head. This
is now probably about ninety seconds of him being mad
about something, and I assume it's got something to do
with whatever's going on in the medical tent. And so
they're still looking at Jackson Dart. The Giants can't get
a first down. They punt away to the Eagles, who
have the football now deep in their own end with

(24:04):
thirty seconds to go in the third quarter, Giant's still
enjoying a ten point lead. But man, I mean this
is some kind of job drama for I mean watching Dart.
He's out of the he's out of the tent now
and he's on the sideline getting water. So you would
assume that he's good to go. If not, he'd be
going back into the tunnel. I assume Dart's gonna come
back in the game.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Maybe Dabel's sprinted right over to maybe Dabele wants Dart
out of the game.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Hey, I'm going back to Russell Wilson.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
You stay in that tent, you come out what I
tell you? Okay, No, that was funny and Dabel looking
more and more like what's his name David Denham when
he was Roy in the office versus the yoked up
version that he is on Peacemaker. Oh, I think you
gonna say the yoked up version when he was in
replacements he was a tight end. Yeah, yeah, No, I'm
taking him in the current day where he's he's a

(24:50):
big part of season two of Peacemaker spoiler alert. But
he's yoked up now. But yeah, Dabele couldn't find Jackson
Dart fast enough?

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Hey, okay, you good?

Speaker 1 (25:00):
You know my first reaction when I see the Giants
that go, of course this works out for the Giants.
Of course it always does the giants. Always they the
giants fall in a hole and they come upon like
a pile of money. Like that's what happens to the giants, right,
it's terrible. Things are bad. Hey, we're gonna draft Jackson Dart.
Who knows all the quarterbacks in the draft that would go? Hey,
who knows if any of these guys are any good?

(25:21):
Cam Ward is just okay, he's just a guy. We
don't even talk about him. Other guys can't get on
the field. Guys are still injured. Oh Jackson Darts. So no,
he's great. And cam' scattabouy ah, he's not fast enough
now he's still got a ceiling camscataboo in the NFL
because he is not as fast. But he is someone
that you can give him the ball a lot. He
can chew the clock for you. He's someone that's gonna

(25:41):
be great to give the ball the red zone. He
just brings excitement to the team. He's a fan favorite.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
And all of a sudden, the giants have something going on,
and they have their identity and and things are great,
and I just sit here and go, what the hell
are the Jets doing? What are we even doing for
the better part of forty years? How can we not
just get lucky once with a guy? Can't get good
lucky once with a dude? The funny part of that
it is you've changed GMS how many times? Oh, twelve, thirteen, fourteen,

(26:08):
So no matter which philosophy you've chosen, it's been wrong.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
No, everything the Jet, No, everything the Jets do is wrong,
and the Giants just fall into say, don drink that
poison the giant. The giants are that kid that never
studies and stays out all night and gods, yeah, how'd
you do on your test? A?

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Ninety seven?

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Ninety seven? Man?

Speaker 3 (26:25):
I studied for like the entire week. I didn't go out,
and I got an eighty four. I don't know what
to tell you. I'm just naturally things just happened for
I'm just naturally smart, and things just. I hated kids
like that, hated hated kids like that they could do that.
I hated those kids. You ever go back to your
reunion and give them a swinging neck break anything. Reunions
aren't my thing. I've never gone to one bad. I
get the notices and I just kind of chuckles, like, yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Show up like Ferrell and John c Riley at the
step Brothers.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
No.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
In fact, the last the last reunion we had it
was it was I think it was the thirtieth anniversary.
Is a big with the thirtieth high school reunion, Right,
you didn't go to and a lot of people are
gonna go.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
I graduate. I graduate top ten percent of my class man.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
I was.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
I was great kindergarten stop. No, I did really good
in school. I mean the mailbox staff should really negate
all that.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
I mean I I peaked.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
My grades peaked in junior high school.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yea.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
But so the last we had it was thirty years,
just a couple of years ago, and they sent it
out and a lot of people were going, And for
maybe a half a second, I thought, oh, do we
want a time a trip to New York to go back?
But I don't really talk to anybody outside of on Facebook,
and I'm like, Okay, I'm not going to go to that. Well,
I'm like, you know, my wife said, you sure you
don't want to go yeah, no, I'm good.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
I don't want to go.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
And then I find out, Okay, the reunion's off and
we have to postpone it. Whoevery is like what because
apparently somebody was making threats that they were going to
do something at the reunion wow, and nobody said who
it was? Every like no kid, Like I think the
people that were setting up the reunion knew, but they
wouldn't tell them that. They would just tease everybody with, oh, no,

(27:57):
this person need to know, this person needs to talk
to somebody.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
You need help, they need this. No, no, we can
really I'm telling I'm like, oh my god, And I'm
like what, like what what would they? What was what
was threatening to go on? Like now I got to
get involved in this. Now I gotta find out. I
want to I want to know the backste never got
the story, never got the story, because what happened was
they said, oh, then the people who are gonna goes, hey,
can we do this again in six months, and the
and the and the planners just said, you guys can
do it. We're out. We're not doing and we never

(28:21):
had a reunion. Like I think their unions are done.
They're absolutely done. Yeah, half of me wants to go back. Yeah,
I mean I'd want to do a live remote. Okay,
I can do that. They've got the capability, I think.
But they look, they had a bunch of big shots
that went to my high school. Right, you're talking about
Will Bunn, You're talking about Bob Newhart, John Mulaney. I mean,
there's there's some heavyweights. And they pumped some money back

(28:44):
in the the uh to build out a little acting
studio and broadcast studio whatever. So I think we could
actually do the show from there, which would be fun.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Now speaking of great restaurants right down the street. Now,
speaking of the show.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Now, you're gonna I gotta tell you something here, and
you're you're not going to be happy about it. But
I'm always a man of my word.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
YEP.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
So last night when we in the last hour of
the show, we picked tonight's game and and I said, look, Eagles,
the over give the points.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Look the Giants. The Giants are fun. Right, they hit
on the right guy. We told you that Jackson Dart
was the guy. But this is a get well week
for the EF. You can't get well against the giants.
When are you gonna get well and there in the
in the in the studio, I said this, and Alex
Tyshert says JJ, And I said, what. He goes, Giants
are gonna win this game by fourteen points. I go,

(29:34):
giants are gonna win by two touchdowns. Yeah, I go,
that's not happening. He goes, Okay, if that happens, I
get a whole segment to myself on the show tomorrow night.
I said, okay, I picked the segment, but you get
the whole one.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
He says.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Deal.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
Here you are right now, early in the fourth quarter,
Giants have a ten point lead and the ball and
Alex Tyshert new sports enthusiast, may get a whole segment
to himself on the show tonight.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Just make people a lot of money, Okay, is all
I'm gonna say. Okay, alright, alright, you LEAs get some
editorial of what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
I know I didn't.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
You had no idea what kind of theories are gonna
pop out in those ten minutes. He might have some scam.
I am gonna telling you some like water that he
uh I reached up from somewhere.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
I mean, come on, I am I'm gonna say one thing.
I'm gonna say one thing, okay.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
That my name is on the shows. It's not it's
not something.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
It can't be any sort of money making scheme of
course that you talk about. Okay, k stuff, okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Okay, watch out the planes in the air, right, okay, alright,
So it can't be any money making scheme.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Can't be anything with conspiracies. Okay, No, no, no conspiracies. Okay,
none that nothing happy to do with your podcast. No none.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
That we're all really in the matrix and and and
everything is planned. It will be sports related really yes, wow,
really yep? Okay, all right, and plant based and yeah,
well of course it's plant based. Of course, there's no
there's no meat protein involved in that.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
No, no, no, he's been back on meat.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Tis all right, all right, very good, okay, uh so
that could have. But again, it's got to be fourteen.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
It's got to be fourteen if it's if it's a
ten point win, we're going full eight man out of here.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
We really we really need the Eagles to come back
here and score. The Eagles to score here. I don't
know what's going to be said.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
I have no idea Scott's gonna be on the phone here.
What the hell are you.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Doing, excell No, I mean, what exit about a Fresco
exit swollen dome? The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Carmen time how to find out what's trending
in the wide world of sports. So someone who's been
called the Brian Dable of Fox Sports Radio, okay, because
it was just a half hour ago, I saw her
that mad, but it was about the Dodgers game. It's

(31:44):
Monty Belon.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
I was a little bit stressed. It was an ugly
game too, A little bit stressed, a little stressed.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
I walked in to say hi, and I get everything
in Spanish from here. Everything was in Spanish.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Lucky you all right, lucky.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
You picked up a few words.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Yeah, you're welcome.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
We're welcome. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
It was. It was a rough game to watch from
the beginning, rough just because there was no offense on
either side. So it was a great pitching duel, and
all the pictures did their job except at the very end.
That was a terrible error for Philadelphia, for the Phillies
Orion cookering, right, that's the same cookering. Never I I
was like, I looked into how long he had been

(32:21):
in the in the league. He's this is like his
third year. He's still fresh and new, and that moment
was so big for him. Imagine being at Dodger Stadium,
everybody booying you, bases loaded.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
It just I just I feel bad for him.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
It's one of those moments where you're like, man, I
feel bad for you.

Speaker 7 (32:39):
It's not like this was a touchback, you know, like
it's it was like a different type of error where
you were like, it just got too big for you. You
could tell in the moment when he fumbled the ball,
he forgot what he should have done, which was go
to first base, which is like the easy.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Play, and he went for the tough play.

Speaker 5 (32:53):
And hey, it works out for the lawyers.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Good job years.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
Okay, I don't I wouldn't call it a walk off.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
But we has been treated like a camelous.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
That was ridiculous. Yeah, So Dodgers did defeat the Phillies
on an error in the eleventh inning with the bases
loaded two to one was the final score. They're gonna
face whoever wins out of the Cubs and the Brewers.
Now right now, if the Cubs win this game, there'll
be a game five and the Cubs are up Ian
Happ with the three run shots, so it's three zero
bottom of the fifth inning. Brewers had a chance to

(33:24):
score in this one, but the Cubs got out of
it without any runs. Let's check in on football, Yeah,
Cam skataboo. He's got thirteen carries for fifty three yards
and two rushing touchdowns. Jackson Dart has thrown for one
hundred and eighty seven yards and a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
He also has a rushing touchdown.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
Giants on top of the Eagles twenty seven to seventeen
early in the fourth quarter. If the Eagles don't figure
it out, this is gonna be a rough night for Philadelphia.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Other NFL it already is, you're the greater Philadelphia is
already having a run.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
They're already having a rough night. Yeah, yea, yeah, it's
gonna get it worse.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
So ho whiers dude tonight? Ah?

Speaker 5 (34:00):
I mean ah, we'll check.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
We'll check there in just the second.

Speaker 5 (34:03):
We'll check there in just the second. Other NFL news
A couple players that miss practice yet again. Ravens quarterback
Lamar Jackson, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, forty nine ers quarterback
Brock pretty all of them still missing practice. In case
you missed it in NBA news, Lakers forward Lebron James
he's gonna miss the start of the season. He's gonna
miss three to four weeks with sciatica on his right side. Now,

(34:24):
let's check in on the Flyers on the ice. Yeah, no,
they lost. The Panthers won two to one there, so yeah,
it's just it's rough times in Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
You're right, you're right.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
When you're right, you're right right now.

Speaker 5 (34:33):
The Golden Knights and the Sharks are tied at one
apiece late in the first period. Ducks and Kraken tied
out one apiece late in the first period. Avalanche over
Mammoth Mammoth one zero late in the second period.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
I have right, Wolfgang Van Halen's gonna get that team
going very soon, don't.

Speaker 5 (34:49):
I was getting Never mind, Jets are losing if Stars
Stars are up five to three late in the.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Third, Jets lose.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Jets lose on Sundays, Jets lose on Thursdays, Jess Jets lose.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
Philadelphia's lose just to day.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
But Dawyer's went back to you.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Thanks your wontson coming up next, we got the play
the day coming your way. And you want a big
area of concern for the Dodgers, who they should be
worried about the most. The answer is show, Hey Otani,
I'll tell you why next. Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
Worst deal I've ever agreed to, Bad job by you,
Alex ty Shirt last night saying Jay Giant's gonna win
by fourteen. Not happening. Man, If they win by fourteen,
you get your own segment. One night they were plus
seven and a half, not gonna got the hook because
of the Jalen Carter deactivation, a little bit of push

(35:46):
in the over under as well. Twenty seven to seventeen
Giants with the lead. We talked about it a few
minutes to go. Okay, yeah, okay, it's not gonna happen.
Eagles are driving to get the ball in the ten
yard line and Jalen Hurts telegraphs in the flat. The
Giants pick it off, It gets run back to the
thirty yard line of the Eagles, and now the Giants

(36:07):
have a first down in the red zone after a
pass interference call. They could take this ten point lead
and push it up to seventeen. Tyser could wind up
getting his own segment. That's the worst idea I've ever
agreed to. Yeah, that's the worst thing, the absolute worst.
Man bit of a difficult call on Ringo, but he

(36:28):
got into Hyatt there as the ball's being floated out
and mad a great pass by Dark to the corner
of the end zone.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Now first and goal.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
And the battering ram known as the Juggernaut is at
it again. Uh, I can't believe. Boy, this is gonna
be terrible.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
Alex getting ready for his own second is going to
be off by a point though. Oh yeah, it's got
to be exactly fourteen. Sorry, he's flipping all over the place.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
He did the Spider Man meme on the last one
where he did the backflip.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Scataboo is in the end zone for his third touchdow
down of the guilt two. It is thirty three seventeen.
No you actually it's it's fourteen. You have it right now.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Oh yeah, it's it's so then miss the No, you're
up by sitting No, No, it's it's you want more points? Yeah,
you want more point?

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Yeah, fourteen, right, so.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
If you get you get the extra point. So it's
a seventeen point games. If they kick a field goal,
you still you still win Giants by fourteen.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
By the way, over under, it was either forty and
a half from forty one and a half. Hope you
listen last night. Wow, this is insane. That's the worst.
That's the worst deal I've ever agreed to.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
I made some I didn't even get get consulted. I'm
a little bit I'm insulted. I wasn't consulted. I did
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
I didn't think that I didn't think there was anything
that could be possibly happy. But you opened the door
to chaos without at least getting a second opinion. I know,
I know. Now you're in a swirling vortex of hell.
This come on, man, It's like when.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
You know when you get those those those small elections,
and and and someone nominates like a cartoon character. Yeah,
Peter Parker is going to win the seat here in
in uh you know, Cumberland County for whatever his way.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Peter Parker. Yeah, Peter Parker's gonna win.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
It's gonna beat a sixth time incumbent because he's got
like like thirteen.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
Hundred folks like that.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
That's the code. You've entered the multiverse of madness.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
I know, I know you went full long doing this,
and you open a portal to hell. This is my fault. Hell,
it really is my fault.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Uh So thirty four seventeen Eagles trailing because you have.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
No idea what's behind door number two over there.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
I know, dude, I'm insane, but you at least know
I'm operating within some parameters. Bring new information to me.
I know this. I do not need you to tell
me how deep the ocean is. I know, I know
this was a bad idea, he says. Okay, I'm amuri
demricatdo you don't need to yell at me. I know
what I did was wrong. I know it was wrong.

(38:45):
But a form shiver you like Gannon, and all of
a sudden, everybody get mad.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
H We'll have more football coming up a minute, but
first it's the play of the day, brought to you
by tire Rack. For over forty years, tire Rack's been
up and customers find the right tires or how, what
and where they drive fast and Free backed by Free
Road has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile
tire installation. Tirec dot com is the way tire buying
should be.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Ah. Well, you know, there's only one play of the day,
and here it is heart rates through the roof the
O one pitch. Pa has grounds it.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Back to Kirkery. He can't find it. He does home.

Speaker 7 (39:20):
It's why ten scores and the Dodgers are going.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
To the Championship Series. Fireworks go Walton center Field.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
The Dodgers celebrate here, first base on a ground ball
back to the pitcher.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
Andy Pa has somehow gets the job done.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
AM five seventy LA Sports on the call. Look, we've
talked about this a lot.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
We'll get back into it in more detail in a
few minutes, but I just want to say this right.
Great for the dot obviously, but one thing going forward,
right to sit here and say, man uh shoho. Tani
has not been great either in the playoffs lest last
year and really this year in thirty four playoff twenty
two playoff games. Now he struck out thirty four times.

(40:06):
He looks absolutely lost at the plate. He's hitting one
forty eight in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
Now he had that one base hit and we celebrated
it because he made contact with them. All right, it
was a big hit, right insurance run, all of that stuff.
But otherwise he's look lost. So that's the question for
Rob Thompson. I can't wait to hear what he had
to say in the post of intentionally walking him. Like
he's been the easiest out in the lineup.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
What are you doing?

Speaker 3 (40:31):
He he's due, like you're a jackass sitting at home.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
It's like, Oh, he's.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
Due, he's due right now, right here, Come on, baby,
you gotta get no.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
I mean, he's barely been better than Anthony Volpi. I mean,
that's how bad he's been.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Wow, you volpied him.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
We got you, volpied Otani Frostberg's gonna take my eyes
out with a with a with a spork. More Big
