this content for you every single night. Well, we'll have
more on Game one of the World Series coming up
in about fifteen minutes. What you thought was the biggest
(00:44):
play of the game, maybe wasn't. I mean, look the
the pinch hit Grand Slam home run by Barge. Really
it was a big play, But was it the biggest play?
Even though TJ clearly that play may have been barger
than life or the Blue Jays? TJ.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
I had a burmanism sent in by our guy Nester
on Instagram. Oh boy, go ahead, fine man swallowing dome
all over the place.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
TJ.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Clearly, the Dodgers said, you savages the Blue Jays, as
they won eleven tonight, TJ.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
See, I was looking for it. Could I find one
with the what was it? Was it? The Megan thee
Stallion with a savage Oh nice? Yeah, classy bougie. Right,
I was trying to find one, but I couldn't. I
was trying to one with this and clearly classy bougie
play by the Dodgers tonight, TJ. All right, but look,
(01:41):
today was a look a huge day in the NBA.
Today we had a forty nine point game from Luka Doncic.
We'll have more on that coming up later on this hour.
Wemby nearly has a triple double with nine blocks. We
told you maybe by the end of October he's gonna
be viewed as the best player in the NBA. But clearly, today,
the day after the NBA gambling scandal, you're starting to
(02:05):
see a few more a little bit more of the
dust settling and a few more angles on. Okay, what
does it mean and what's next?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Right?
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Because yesterday was it was there was so much information
out there. Like I like, when we finished the show
last night, I walked away going, I feel like my
head is spinning with all the different angles of it,
which were you know, Chauncey Billups involved in a bit,
you know, the big poker ring where he got paid
but potentially you know, sitting guys to help gamblers win games.
(02:33):
And Damon Jones telling people that, hey, Lebron's not playing
tonight and what games at Terry Rozier, you know, tank
his his his points per game or his his stats
in and leave a game early. Like there was so
much stuff out there, But now I think after a
day we got to kind of settle in and see
where things at. Like now there's a couple of big
(02:54):
things now going forward where this gambling scandal sits now.
Yesterday one of the big things we talked about was
is this something that's fatal for the NBA? Not really,
because we've seen gambling scandals before, and this is a
gambling scandal involved you know, a coach, which is you know,
not great, right, But it's Chauncey Billups, a couple of players.
(03:15):
Terry Rozier, Okay, you know he's been around, people know
his name. Uh, you know that's fine. Damon Jones was
in the league for a while with never a star player,
and we've kind of gotten used to, Hey, here's some
players potentially doing some things for their individual stats. Right,
And and if these were games that were playoff games
(03:38):
or big regular season games, you would understand where Okay,
I see where people get upset, But by and large,
these are individual prop bets for teams that are off
the radar, that are you know, in the beginning of games.
You know, the the billups games were. At the end
of the year, everybody's eliminated from competition. And and for
you know, for Damon Jones, it's not about any thing
(04:00):
that was illegal except I'm letting out inside information about
Lebron James not playing. Right. So, okay, it's something that
the NBA will look at and say, these are unfortunate
but acceptable consequences for their partnership in the gambling realm. Right,
the long term gains they're gonna have from being partners
with Draft Kings and fan Duel outweigh the bad right now,
(04:23):
there's bad headline right now, it's to be bad for
a few days, but event this is something at the end, Okay,
we get it's gonna be rocky. But in the end
it worked because the legal system went out and they
found what was wrong and they made the arrest and
these guys have been indicted, So okay, we go forward.
But now today I want to say, guys, guys, NBA,
(04:43):
I was embarrassed for the league today when I saw
the quotes from the Miami Heat. You know, Ros Rosier's
former team, and it's gonna be former team because he look,
he's gonna get banned from the NBA. Chauncey Billups is
gonna get banned from the NBA, and Damon Jones are
gonnaet banned from the NBA. That's what's gonna happen. You're
in the gambling scandal. You're indicted by by a federal
(05:04):
federal I mean you're indicted. You're federally indicted. So I
got a feeling they have the information, they got the
goods on you, Like, these guys are gonna get banned.
When I saw the Heat all say the same thing.
Eric Spolstro the player say hey, we love Terry, he's
our guy, nothing but support for him. I'm like, wow,
I mean I understand he was there, but dude is
(05:24):
indicted for fixing games. Man, Like, what what do you think?
What are you saying? What are you saying with that?
And then for Adam Silver, to say, yes, I'm deeply
disturbed by the indictments. I had a pit in my stomach.
Oh oh, Glady was concerned about it. But when he
goes out and says two and a half years later,
in fairness to Terry, he hasn't been convicted of anything. Whoa,
(05:47):
whoa dude, what you Adam Silver? At some point he's
going to grow a spine. I mean, I don't know
he needs a spine transplant, because every time he comes
up and needs to do something to lead, he just shrinks,
disappears right, I say it all the time. He doesn't
want to do anything. He never wants to do anything
anything that's controversial. He wants no part of being a
strong leader. What he should have done, what David Stern
(06:10):
would have done, is stand up today in front of
a podium and said this is never going to happen again.
These guys are gonna get banned from the league and
we are never gonna go through this again. You will
never be involved in the NBA again if something like
this happens again. These guys have been indicted federally, So yes,
this is not work here. I got a feeling they're okay,
(06:32):
and they have the evidence. This is where David our
game is safe, like like he did with Tim Doneghey,
our game is safe. One rogue individual. Now, whether you
believed David started at the time or not about Tim
donaghie in the games, he stood up and said this
is not gonna define us. We are not gonna let
this happen. This is not who we are. And that's
what he That's what he would have done, and that's
(06:52):
what Adam Silver needed to do to stand up and
say our game is safe, our game is good. We
had bad individuals here, We're gonna make sure they are
punished to the list extent. Why are you standing up
for these guys? Why are you standing up for guys
that are caught up in a gambling ring.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
We're fixing games in the league? Is at the is
at the core of this. How do you stand up
and not say, hey, this is bad. If the Mine
Heat wanted to say, hey, we're deeply disturbed, Terry was
our guy. We don't have any comments on this right now,
no comments on this. We're moving forward, We're playing games.
That's what I expected from the Heat, and.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
I expected something more more spine worthy from Adam Silver
than yes, I'm deeply disturbed. I had a pit in
the bottom of my stomach. But you know what, Paris
Terry hasn't been convicted of anything. Oh my god, man,
this is a huge scandal. I get that you feel
like you survived it and you're gonna go forward, but
you got to at least give the appearance that you
care about the fabric of the game. Like Adam, Silver
(07:45):
never fails to disappoint and disappointing and embarrass the league
every time. He's got to stand up and say something important.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Yeah, the difficulty for the next steps for Silver is
just that reputation continues to grow. And he added here,
so the first time he steps to a microphone with
something with authority and a pounding of the fist on
the table will be the next time he does. It
will be the first going through the whole thing. Been
asked about the timeline and how they handled Roseiers quote irregular.
(08:17):
The irregular betting activity is how it's been termed. Talked
about it. It was through legal companies, so they picked
up the aberrational behavior that becomes the catchphrase aberrational behavior.
It was brought to our attention. We looked into it,
we were very transparent about it. Really was. While there
was aberrational betting, we frankly couldn't find anything. Now you
(08:40):
can get it. And this is where they've tried to
find a little bit of a cloak and dagger, cloak
of invisibility kind of situation of, Hey, we don't have
the same power as the federal government has. So I'm
gonna go hide over here and let them take the
next steps. Cause maybe we dropped the ball on this,
but I'm not gonna admit to that, certainly, and saying
(09:01):
in insufficient evidence for anything else. Okay, that's all fine
and good for the players. What was a little disappointing,
and I don't think it's it's wrong overall wrong situationally
is a lot of the well, you know, we hear
from a lot of these people about their bets. We hear, hey,
I need ten rebounds. We hear that and trying to
(09:22):
you know, I mean, what do you want to do that.
We hear about it all the time, like, no, that's
part of the game you play, and it's augmented all
your paychecks. Right, you guys get fifty percent of the
league revenue. So when all of this starts flowing in,
you know with the CBA, and when you start talking
about different things you want, you don't want. If you
don't want this around, then you need to say something
(09:43):
about it. Then then as a group perhaps you have
to say, well, we don't want that chunk of the
money as well. It's become part of the business, which
means you're gonna get a guy slapping you on the
back when you've got a triple double and he hits
that parlay. You're gonna have that guy when you score
eighteen when he needed you to go over nineteen and
a half, you're gonna hear it right. Or you missed
(10:05):
that free throw in the final seconds that would have
pushed something one way or another. That's now part of it.
But I saw so many quotes and video clips of
players talking about that angle, and I feel for him.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Right.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
It's like, you know the folks getting hounded trying to
leave a restaurant. Hey, you're a celebrity. You're an athlete
being asked for autographs, pictures, Hey do a video for
my mom back over here. You know all of those things.
I feel for you. It's a little price to the
celebrity rules of engagement need to be followed. But certainly
you recognize that, you know the old Spider Man line.
(10:39):
With great power comes great responsibilities. So the fact that
they can recognize the issue, I mean, that's the one
part that Silver really could lean into if you wanted to.
Is the system works, right, We got this information, will
continue to get this information, and we will be strong
about it. I think if you wanted to go the
(11:00):
David Stern route, just keep throwing the word rogue a lot.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Yeah, individuals, Okay, yeah, that's fine, Yeah, great, the rogue
now look in some cases right. The other part, the
other takeoff of that is this is that the good
news for the NBA, and I don't believe this is
gonna change. Obviously, we're going to continue to deal with
gambling situations in pro sports because there's gonna be players
(11:27):
that don't gamble the right way, or you know, in
the NBA's case, they're giving information out they shouldn't look
the NFL, it's all about guys, make sure you're doing
your bets, don't be on don't be on team property. Right.
But like the the thing that's going to absolutely that
would absolutely kill the kill a game is if you
find out that what's at stake are big regular season
(11:49):
games or playoff games. Right, if you mess with that,
that's gonna be Because we've shown as a population across
the board we have we are the the United States.
We are now the bend. But don't break defense when
it comes to what we'll put up with what we
don't like going on in the world, whether it is
politics or sports or anything else, you know, inflation, whatever,
(12:12):
we are the bend, but don't break it. Will put
up with a lot, and and NBA fans will put
up with a lot. And if these are the scandals,
which are individual over unders for a game, the impact
that has on that one game, how big a deal
is that in the long run of the NBA. How
big a deal is it? How much will fans care that, Oh,
(12:35):
volunteer assistant coach told people that Lebron James wasn't gonna
play tonight, Right, Okay, that's not that big a deal.
That's not anything on the court being fixed of a game.
But as long as that's what it is, everything will
be okay. And honestly, I have a hard time seeing
it get bigger than this. Now, will it get more sophisticated. Maybe. Look,
I've said for a while that they're gonna have to
(12:56):
get rid of prop bets in the NBA when when
it comes to players, it can Congratulations to people who
took that take today. I only had that, like, you
know a few months ago. But that's okay, Hey, the
show is tonight, right, congratulations to get that. But like
if I don't see it getting worse, because you can't
get to that point where you are fixing games that
(13:17):
are big time playoff games or big regular season games
or just games that have an impact on the standings
on who goes in and out of the playoffs, who
makes the playoffs, who doesn't, who goes on in the playoffs,
because that's something that will stand out and that'll get
that that'll get looked at because all this gambling, all
(13:37):
this money that goes in, like it gets flagged right away,
right like if you're gambling illegally, Okay, well, now that's
the thing, and that's where you know you're gonna see
some things, you know change potentially, but you know right
now you want to be able to gamble and be
able to make away and hey, okay, it's it's DraftKings
it's FanDuel, it's all these things, and so luckily that
stuff gets flagged. So overall, I feel pretty good that
(14:00):
as they continue to fight this, it's going to be
this level of controversy and this level of of of
of gambling that we're dealing with. I don't think it's
going to get bigger where it comes to the point
where fans suddenly say, I'm not watching these games anymore
because I don't know what's on the level.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
No, in the end, you know some of that, You're
still gonna marvel at the athleticism, right like we do
with professional wrestling. May not know the outcome, but they do,
and it's just a matter of how you're working from there,
and you take it for the pageantry and sports entertainment
that it is, and you see how it's been embraced,
right the big deal they now have with ESPN, the
(14:37):
entertainment and Sports network as it were. But all of that,
you know, the prop bet kind of thing like that's
too big a market, like there's too big, too big
a margin and revenue stream state to state when they're
they're doing their rake, whether they use it for roads,
schools or whatever they claim they use it for versus
what it's actually doing. Like in Illinois, you know you're
(14:58):
getting charged per bet. Every bet you you put down
has an extra couple of quarters added to it, so
you know, you go through and add what that kind
of revenue is. They don't want that to go away.
So it becomes more about the regulatory and the process
and the transparency whether you've got to do more official
(15:19):
accounting and recording in front of whether it's silver or
some other newly created role. Your czar of gambling authority
for the NBA.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Might not tell for Tello that, yeah, you a illustrator
to the Czar of gambling in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yes, yeah, I mean if he wants to get in
front of the media to do those reports. But like,
here's what's going through, here's the flow of money, all
of those things. And you know, as we talk with
Todd Furman yesterday, when there are regularities, everybody gets notified, Well,
we should be notified as a betting slash consuming public
(15:57):
when there's question because certainly everybody does it on when
they're on the wrong side of a bet. Hey that
should have been that well yes, no, and hey, how's
it adjudicate?
Speaker 3 (16:07):
Right?
Speaker 2 (16:07):
We've talked about in seven weeks of NFL action plus
a game, how many calls have we gone through each week?
Two three per week that are just really head scratchers
of stuff getting overturned or stuff that quickly they got
to the line too quickly for us to call the
uh you know from New York to stop it down right?
All of those scoring plays are reviewed. Are they reviewed
(16:29):
with the same intensity like Jim Harbaugh would want you
to do it? No, they're not. So all of that
to say, you know, the more transparency you have, the better. Uh.
But you know, while the outlawing of some of the
prop world would be would write and good, it ain't
going away. It's too rich and otherwise you push that
back into the VFW halls and those cards that you
(16:52):
used to fill out. Jason, you know exactly what I'm
talking about.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
And all those crime families that are doing the the
poke games, the money goes back into their pockets. Do
you want that or overseas all of that to say,
just get get your arms around it. It ain't going anywhere.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
Exit out bout a Fresca, exit swalling Dome. The Jason
Smith Show with My best Friend Mike Carbon. So they
are two big takes coming off day two of the
big NBA scandal. But man Adam Silver, every single time
he gets a chance, he just disappoints and disappears. Coming
up next, we get back into Game one of the
World Series. It was a onslaught offensively for the Blue Jays.
(17:33):
But the biggest play a Game one isn't what you
think it is. We'll tell you next right here, Jason
and Mike. This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Get your podcast. Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harmon come standing up in
the studio. Game one of the World Series goes to
the Blue Jays. They pummel the Dodgers. Tonight eleven four,
a two to two game is broken open as the
(18:42):
Blue Jays plate nine in the bottom of the sixth
inning to turn a two to two Pitchers duel into
a laugher. The big blow, of course, the pinch hit
Grand Slam by Addison Barger, first ever pinch hit Grand
Slam in World Series history. And according to what we've
been able to find out, we figure things out, potentially
the first player in MLB history whose first played appearance
(19:07):
ever in a World Series was a Grand Slam. Insanity.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
I tell ya and I and I found you that
clip of that JP reference when he joined us earlier,
John Palmrosi with Dan Pleaseak before the game, predicting that
he'd get an opportunity to come in and hit a
home run.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
That's both me and Dan Pleisack are from the future.
It's crazy, both from the future because the thing is,
I remember because I worked on a game show in college. Right,
this is how I remember it is that when Barger
pinch hits hits that Grand Slam. I go, I think
he's the first ever player to Homer to hit a
Grand Slam in his first ever World Series played appearance,
(19:45):
because I remember back I worked in the game, so
this is a question back in after the World Series.
But Jose Canseco, I remember, got hit by a pitch
in the first game of the World Series against the
Dodgers first time at bat, and then the second time
up he hit a Grand Slam, So technically his first
at bat in the World Series, first ever World Series
at bat was a Grand Slam, but he got hit
(20:06):
the first time up, so it's not his first played appearance.
But this I'm pretty sure this is your first ever
guy who is first ever played appearance in the World
Series hitting a Grand Slam home run. Austin Barger with
it again, really good young player with the Blue Jays.
Had a pretty good year. Wasn't in the starting lineup, however,
they had to move some things around, right Boba Shitt
(20:27):
was back in the lineup tonight. He knew he'd get
in the game at some point in baut Wow, he
came in and just absolutely wrecked this and put the
game away. The Blue Jays go on to win it
eleven to four over the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah, just a crazy game. The way that inning unfolded.
You know, Snell comes out for one more inning. It's
like you think you got one more, you think one more,
and then it got south very fast.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
Yeah. Yeah. Now, look, now, talking about being from the future, right,
being from the future is that you know, we've talked
a lot about tonight already about when we looked at
the World Series, it looked the Dodgers' biggest thing they're
gonna have to understand is that they're not gonna pitch
like they did in the NLCS. Right, They're gonna get
a bounce. It's not possible for them to have a
four game series against a team where basically the first
(21:11):
four guys all hit five hundred are going to be
able to pitch like they did against the Brewers.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Yeah, the only way you run through things like that.
Out of the two thousand and five white Socks, there
you go.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Yeah, it's a wow.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Look at you tied for the best record of postseason
ever at eleven.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
You're right, You're right. So this is gonna be this
is gonna be the thing for the Dodgers. They're gonna
have to hit enough to overcome the fact that pitching
is not gonna be what it was now. I didn't
think to this extent, but what did we say going
into the playoffs? The Dodger bullpen is the biggest X
factor of them all. The Dodgers will win the World
(21:48):
Series or lose because.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
In terms of how the ball was fielded on, that
led him to believe that he was gonna have maybe
an uncontested base advancement there, you know, play to another
base to where the throw wouldn't come in and instead
out and kills that and any momentum. And I know
our buddy Ben Mallard is not a believer of it,
(22:11):
but you know.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
You decide where it is.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
But if if it allows a young pitcher to suddenly
just reset and go after a hitter instead of worrying
about the guy uh and the base runners, you know,
the ducks on the pond, if you will uh, then
then all the better. You know, as we talked about it,
coming in with you Savage, you had no idea what
you were getting. As he comes to them out with
Blake Snell, you'd gotten used to all right, he's he's gotten,
(22:33):
you know, lining him up and knocking him down stat
start after start since getting back into the rotation late
in the season, but.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Barely held on. He he only he threw eighty pitches,
he threw forty four strikes.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
But that's it, right. You know, you had him, you
had him on the ropes early, multiple times, and you
never got the big blow on him.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
No. In an eleven four game, the Dodgers, really you
can you can say, okay, it was a game of
you know, the first you know, three innings and then
and then the next three and the Dodgers really let
the Blue Jays off the hook, like they they had
chances to to really just run away in this game,
and instead it was they let the Blue Jays back
into it. And again, those mistakes and missed opportunities are
(23:15):
absolutely huge. And you know, for Freddie Freeman to make
that mistake, I say, what, what is what is going
on there? Like like it's not as if it's not
nerve World Series nerves. It's not like, Hey, I'm gonna
go try to be aggressive and make a play and
get thrown out on the bases because I'm trying to
make something happen. This was dude, You saw everything in
front you know you got to stop at second base.
(23:35):
Where do you think you're going? I mean, great play,
great defensive play by the Blue Jays, right, because you
had to see it and make that decision that Nope, Nope,
let me go to second because I'm gonna get the
second out of the I'm gonna get the first out
of the inning here, and we're gonna slow things down.
I mean, great decision by the Blue Jays, great execution
on it. But man Freddy Free, he's got to know
better in that than than than to make that decision.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
So would you go back to just the prior, the
prior half inning, bottom of the second. Uh, he's hit
to left and then back to back strikeouts. Great, then
an infield single to first and Clement decides he's gonna
run and he runs them out of an inning. So
you had that and then you go back to the first.
Would seem like it was gonna last forever? And I
know a lot of pucker lost, a lot of puckering
(24:18):
here in Southern California for everybody out there we broadcast
from our Fox Sports radio studios here in Los Angeles.
When the bases were loaded in the first became a
oh are we going to see that big blow right away. No,
it was just a foreshadowing of the conga line and
eventual home run barrage to come. But Varshow flying out there,
it's like, you know, you breed that sigh of relief
(24:41):
twenty nine pitches there, but you knew what that begets, right, Okay,
Blake Snell may give you a few more innings, might
you know, rig a lot of any other any other problems,
but eventually you're getting into that bullpen. And sure enough,
once you did bad things, man, bad things I got.
I got pictures of my guy, uh, basically running around
(25:02):
going bad things. It's Dennis Hopper in my head when
I gotta go to.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
The call for the pen exit out about a Fresca
exit swollen dome. The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon time out to find out what's trending
in the wide world of sports. But guy's been called
the Dave Roberts of Fox Sports Radio. He really wanted
to go to the bullpen tonight too. It's Steve Desager.
I did not I've seen this bullpen.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Toronto blue Jays, the top seed in the American League,
ripped the Dodgers in Game one of the World Series
eleven to four. Losing pitcher Blake Snell went five plus innings.
You know, in his last playoff start it was just
over one hundred pitches, eight innings, one hit aloud and
even hundred pitches tonight. Eight hits allowed in the five plus.
You gotta say he did leave with a two two
(25:50):
tie granted bases loaded, no outs, but it was two
two bottom of the six. Emma Cheen came in all
three runners, scored on a couple of singles in a walk.
Anthony Bonda then allowed a grand Slam to the pin
hitter Addison Barger, first pinch grand slam in World Series history.
Two run homer off Bonda for Alejandro Kirk, who had
three hits three run scored a nine run bottom of
(26:13):
the six. Shohey Otani in the top of the seventh
hit a two run homer for La So eleven four Toronto,
the final in the wild card era. So this is
going back three decades. If you win Game one of
the World Series, well, the Game one winner has won
twenty four of the last thirty World Series. Game two
of the Best of seven is also on Fox TV.
(26:34):
Saturday Night. That'll be the Blue Jays Kevin Gosman against
Pictri Yoshinobu Yamamoto. By the way, Toronto infielder Bobashett is
on the roster for this series. He started tonight after
the spring knees he's been out since early September. Had
a single and a walk. He was playing second base.
Had a nice backhand play, not playing short stuff for
the first time since the minor league days. During the season,
(26:56):
he was one of the rare three hundred hitters in
baseball hit three eleven four RBIs. Dodger reliever Alex Vesia,
a lefty, is out this series due to a family matter.
Lefty Tanner Scott was not added to the roster. As
for the NBA late games, the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (27:11):

Speaker 1 (31:29):
So, speaking of NBA tonight, hopefully you had Luka Doncic
with the over forty nine points for Luca tonight in
the Lakers runaway win over the Tea Wolves. Suddenly A
couple of things two Big thing Number one Lakers Nation
can relax losing opening Night to the Warriors. Look neither
team look good opening Night like neither team looked like, Hey,
(31:52):
they got something going on. But here's Luca now ninety
two points in his first two games of the season.
Nor the Laker has ever done that, forty plus points
in each of the first two games, forty nine tonight.
This is another step in the Hey Lebron, we can
get along well without you drama that has been going
(32:13):
on for the summer, into the preseason, now into the
regular season. I told you Luca's gonna step up. You know,
there's been conversations, Hey, step up, show us what you
can do here right out of the gate without Lebron,
And Luca is doing exactly what he did in Dallas
when he took a bunch of guys and somehow would
make him look like an NBA team and they would
win game after game. Ago, how is he doing it?
(32:35):
Doing it already the first two games with the Lakers,
and now Lebron has no choice but to clap and
be happy and look like he wants to actually come
back and play at some point.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Now, that was kind of funny, just the decidedly different
look right, very relaxed, Melta a nice multi colored sweater
and ensemble and was first off off the bench and
laughing and high five and and everything as the heroics
of Luka Doncis were on display. What I did enjoy
was the second half for the Lakers. And this is important.
(33:05):
You know, we talked about Ruy Hachimura a little bit
today and certainly on Opening night. He's gonna be pivotal
for them as one of their primary secondary scores. Is
that a right way to say it? Yeah, one of
the guys that needs to step up behind he but
behind Luca and Lebron when it's really in free flow.
You got some more from Austin Reeves. He had a
(33:26):
big third quarter, so you got a little more balanced.
So I felt a little bit better, But still wondering
about those heavy minutes. Man, even if he has leaned
out that, we already had a couple of moments where
he went to the locker room briefly today. We saw
it on Opening night, like you can't beat this guy down. Man,
you got a long, arduous journey ahead of you.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
I'm telling you, man, it is a it's an it's
an incredibly fun storyline. To follow the Lakers without Lebron
How are they gonna do this? What's it gonna again?
I can't believe he's actually gonna suit up and play
for them this year. With all the we're pushing you
to the side, you're not our guy. I can't believe
he's gonna play being the number two option on a team,
the full number. I mean, it's amazing, but it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
He'll be there for you.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
It's amazing. Just like bon Jovi.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
They're coming back.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
You see that they're back. They're back.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Hey, it's not a huge tour, but a couple of
seas couple in New York. Let's go.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Hey already, bit if you got some some performances overseas
and performances in New York. With you and I living
in California, we are halfway there wherever we want to
go see them play.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Tej So you've said you were done with part.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Game of the Week in the NFL, Look right, Big
Football Friday. We had a lot of games, a lot
of breakdown. If I can only see one game this week,
Cowboys and the Broncos, easy, and I'll tell you the
best advice I can give you about the Cowboys. Don't
bet against them right now, not the way this offense
is so unbelievably red hot. They're getting four points in
(34:59):
this game? Does matter? Give me Dallas on the field.
Denver is still stabilizing a little bit. Again. I love
them long term, and I told you where they're gonna
be by the time we get a little bit past
the midway point of the season. But they're coming off
an incredibly emotional win where Jackson Dart went up and
down the field on them. Okay, this offense is way
better than that. You talk about two best receivers in
(35:20):
the NFL so far this year, a red hot Dak Prescott.
This offense is unstoppable. They will put up points. It's
going to be a game where Denver can't really keep up.
Give me Dallas. I am not betting against them while
their offense is rolling at this high rate.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Yeah, key to this one. How much do you get
from bo Nicks with his legs to try to create
some openings downfield? Fifty one is your total Dallas sides.
It's moved half a point, So people listening to your words,
they're now just three and a half point dogs as
we sit here laid into Friday early Saturday morning East
Coast time. I like Cowboys win the game outright, Do
(35:56):
I think Dak puts up massive number himself. No, but
they're gonna move the ball. I want to see if
certain is the traveling buddy for Cedee lamb uh, and
whether Ferguson and Pickings are the guys making the play,
and whether you get more out of Javantia Williams. Because
this Denver defense has not been what was advertised. I
was sold a bill of goods. I haven't seen it yet,
(36:17):
so he has an opportunity.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
I mean, you see, you see it once in a while,
you see it up and down, but not nearly as
consistent like Denver is. And even though they're winning games
like they're they're still figuring out their identity right like
it's not they're not entirely Bonnicks driven. They're not entirely
defense driven. There's still again, I feel great about where
they are, like you know, week eleven, week twelve, but
right now yet look out. You do not want that
Dallas offense coming to town this week?
Speaker 3 (36:40):
Good time, many big weekend.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
