Mike and I love putting this out for you every

Kawhi Leonard hits a game win up with the Nippers.
We'll get to the latest on Luka Dancic and his
return coming up in a few minutes. But now that
we sit here and on the East coast, Halloween has ended.
West Coast, it's sort of ending. The trick or treat

(01:20):
ness is ending up. People are at parties and still
going on.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Obviously.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Do you think if I went trick or treating after
the show end and people would be mad?

Speaker 5 (01:27):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Not if you wore a Dodgers jersey, if you wore
a Yamamoto or a Bets or a glass Now jersey, like,
they would invite you into the house.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
And say, come on and hang out, man, we're gonna
watch the replay in the game.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
I think that'd be good. And have all the candy
one never come empty hand. I brought, I brought the beer.
Let's start the rewatch now.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
And that's it. That's the thing is that we talked
about this a little bit last night. But now I
don't know if there's advanced metrics at play, but I
can't believe there are.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
We had on Halloween night game six of the World Series,
which I don't know that I would have Game six
the World Series and Halloween night, Okay, big college football
game right North Carolina, Syracuse, Belichick playing on Friday night, Okay,
enjoying both. Yeah, you know, beginning of the year, you're
gonna put that game out, Okay, Belichick.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
On Friday, Okay, it's Halloween.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
A big slate of NBA games, huge slate of NBA games, Right, Nixon,
the Bulls, we saw the Lakers. That's a lot of
sports on a night where your viewing audience is generally
out doing other things. It's one thing to have games

(02:44):
on a on a holiday in which, well, we have
a Memorial Day triple header. Okay, Well people are Memorial Day.
People are at barbecues or they're hanging out at home.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
It's a Monday. There worked the next day.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
It's meant for we're hanging out, right, Halloween is not
a hangout holiday.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Are a lot of parties if Yeah, But but that's
the thing.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
It had party gatherings where they're gonna have that on Hey,
take that Friday the thirteenth off. It's the World Series
and it could be a horror movie in a whole
other way.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Uh, but I feel like it's it's not great scheduling
to have this kind of sports night on Halloween when
it's difficult for people who are in your target audience.
To not be around to see the game where where
you're taking your care trick or treating is happening. You're not,

(03:35):
I mean any kind of parent if you if you're
a parent that skips trick or treating to watch a
sporting event. Wow, man, Hey, as much as I love
we do, sports are living here. Hey when there's when
there's a when there's a trick or treating, you could
take your kids home.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
You're not staying home, right? How old is your kid though?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
The kids anywhere between three and and eleven?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Okay, well, but I mean like the sun's going down
a little bit earlier, so you can get out there
and get after it that first hour.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Man, how much trick or treating do they need? They've
got no concept of time.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Wow, you would be the worst. You'd you'd be the villain,
the villain parent in the movie where you've been. Oh,
come on, suck it up. We're gonna go tri or
treating now. But dad, I want to wait and go
every No, we're gonna go now. It's gonna get dark soon.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Let's go. The game's coming out.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
An you can't of mind's gonna be a giant fan.
My kids hate baseball so you're the you're.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
The villain in the what a bad dad dad is?
He doesn't really care at all. But I mean, you know,
cause you're gonna be out doing that. You're gonna be
out trick or treating.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Someone's gonna have it on in the front yard and
offer me a libation. Okay, that that doesn't that going
for the parents. That doesn't do a lot for Major
League Baseball.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
I want to say, hey, look at what the ratings
are for Game six of the World Yeah, it doesn't
do a lot for.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
You, but in the end, they're gonna get critical mass.
I mean, look, you're gonna still do a huge number
outside of Los Angeles and Canada.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Lot of folks don't care. That's a lot of land though,
You're covering a lot of land.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
But all I'm saying is like a lot of folks
that already tapped out as soon as their team was eliminated.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, but it's still the World Series. Sure, it's still
the World Series.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
No, but it's still the New Evil Empire and the
Dodgers playing against the plucky favorites from Canada, the team
that was just behind them in terms of total.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Payroll for the year. Yeah, just behind.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Well, I mean, look still top ten, right, I mean,
you can get into the economics of it. You just
wish your team would spend money, or that they'd have
some sort of agreement between the players association and ownership.
But until that day happens after a very long lockout,
then we're not going to get there. Or they raised

(05:49):
the floor, so your team has to be somewhat competitive
White Sox. But all of that to say that plenty
of folks, bars, restaurants, gatherings, parties. I mean that there's
a lot of a lot of opportunity to watch the
World Series if you want.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Well, of course you can watch it, but but there's opportunities.
But you're out with your kids trick or treating or
doing things that that's the whole point is that.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
The game, I mean, East Coast, you're done.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Right, let's go, let's get out and trigger treat, let's go,
let's go, let's go your neighborhood.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Let's get back fast noligans.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yes, and they're and they're throwing Molotov cocktails at the houses.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
That whoa, whoa.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
I mean, I mean, now you took it to a
whole other level, you know, said rolls of toilet paper
or whatever.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
No, no, no, you take it violence of.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Course, no, of course, of course you can. You can
still watch the game. It's not like suddenly the game's
not on television.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
But you want to make trig or treating, you get nothing.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
You have to make choices, and yeah, is it going
to be the number one TV sports moment? Yeah, of
course it is, But you would rather have it be
the number one moment when you know thirty more million
people are watching, then when thirty million less people are watching, right, Like.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
That's that's kind of what you would want.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
And having all these sports on Halloween night, I'm like, man,
I don't know, I really would like to see some
sort of some sort of proof that hey, when you
have big sporting events like this on Halloween, yeah, there's
a big benefit towards it, because I really can't see it.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
I really. You think about the kids, all the families
that are out in them.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
You know, you can always tell the dad who's walking
like ten feet behind the kid with his phone in
his hand, like following the game.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Come on dad, Yeah, yeah, go to the next house.
Go to the next house. Yeah, that's okay. Knock on
the door.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yourself. I'll stand right here. It's okay Otani's up with
one on and one out. You go knock on the door,
get the candy, come back here, like that's that's kind
of what it is. And so I always am amazed
that that, yeah, we'll have all these events on Halloween
when yeah, you can move stuff by a day or so,
and I don't think people will get that upset.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yeah, you're either in or you're out. I mean, you
make choices, and the kids make choices. You decide depending
on the age, right, the kids may just go out themselves.
We were talking about it with our daughters, like, yeah,
beat it one. I mean it was an interesting one
with my my younger daughter with some circumstance of some
of the friends maybe not being allowed to go out.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Which is a whole other thing.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
It's like, oh, we had this group costume plan not anymore. So, Yeah,
that that got torn asunder. But I mean, according to
this thing I'm reading, it's Statista. I guess Stacy status
state up. But okay, sure dot Com it's a it's
a pay for the site, but they give you like
the little teaser of it. According to a poll last year,

(08:44):
a survey. They did over twelve billion dollars spent on Halloween. Okay,
estimated to go up another billion. People they got no
money for anything, but we got thirteen billion dollars to
spend on all week. Okay, but oh that's the same.
You make your choices, like your time, like your cash, right.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Like what like right?

Speaker 6 (09:03):
Like?

Speaker 1 (09:03):
What I'm saying is, why would you get Why would
you have to for Why would you play the game
here and force people to make that choice. Well, I
can watch the game because I'm a Dodger fan instead,
or I could go and have Halloween with my kid.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
I got it. Gotta choose Halloween. See.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
And there's the other thing. I don't know if you've
been looking at you know, some of the population stuff.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
A lot of kids.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
People aren't having kids. Yeah, I gotta take my kids Halloween. Sorry, sir,
you don't have any kids.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
It doesn't matter. I gotta go.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
I'm adulting at this bar slash restaurant in my whatever
I want to fan costume.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
And I'm ready to go.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
I'm dressing up as Philly Caroen and I'm gonna go
get any candy I want to.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
You say that, like it's wrong. I say you do
you whatever it's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
But yeah, I think I think the ratings will for
a Game six will prove to be pretty good. Yeah,
but they could be better. Like you always like to say, you.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Always no, no, no, no, you I'm gonna I'm gonna
mister Burns right back.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
You always say give it all for just a little boy.
Oh no, then we watch just a little more people watching.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
And here's the thing though, if they push it, if
they pushed it, like say they took another day off here,
that'll work with me. Here that now puts Game six
on Saturday night. Okay, cool, you could you could fight
college football. Oh no, wait, there's a lot of things
that happen on Saturday nights. Maybe it's the one day
of the week that families go out and do things together.

(10:28):
Maybe it's you know, plays and and movies and all
of those things. Now you're tearing that fabric of American
culture and family life away six Okay, okay, wait or wait,
let me let me take you one more. We went
down this path. I I have the mic, it's my time. Uh,

(10:50):
Sunday night would be game seven? You put in Game
seven up against Sunday night football, you probably lose.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Doesn't have to be.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
You're already into November. You can have Game six Saturday night,
when you can make a choice to go out or not.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
But just like you can on Halloween, but Halloween, Halloween, no,
you go on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Halloween's Halloween stuff happens on Halloween. You can't say, well,
I'll do my Halloween stuff on the first No, Halloween
happens on You don't have a choice.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Halloween is that the whole season?

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Did you not see the theme park ads that run
endlessly here southern California?

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Don't you know four months of No? Dude, Halloween is
done tomorrow. It's Christmas season. No, but you just had
a month and a half nod the second week of
August this year, you go to Costco tomorrow, everything.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Is Christmas calendars with every character that he ever wanted.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
It's fully Christmas tomorrow, man, Halloween is today.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
You don't have a choice.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
But Saturday night, well, we could go out. We could
not do this. There's fifty two Saturdays in the year.
We can figure out another Saturday, or we could go
out Sunday night, or we could hang out and watch it.
You you have choices now, you can make choice, but
there's no choice.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Halloween is Halloween.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Why why can't you move it in your neighborhood. You say, Look,
as a group, we we love our Dodgers, so we'll
do it on Saturday unless there's Game seven.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Well, I do want to say this is a couple
of events that my daughter has tomorrow, both school wise
and sports wise, have been canceled because of Game seven
of the World Series. We just got an email a
half hour ago. Hey, tomorrow, this is canceled. This game
is canceled because the Dodgers Game seven.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Of the World Series. One. Okay, all right, See, those
are choices you can make. It's a terrible choice.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
It's a choice he was running these organizations that you're
affiliated with. Sorry, it's a really important thing for our
group and our kids.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
And how the Dodgers are playing. We're out. It's important.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
But we're really gonna do something to build community. Yeah,
I watch the Dodgers instead. But it's a huge fundraiser.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Nah, na na, We'll do it another day. Game seven
of our night. Let's go. This is our biggest fundraiser
of the year. Yeah, no, not anymore anymore. We'll do
it next week.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Just just send a check, but there's a live auction.
It's like not anymore.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
In lieu of the live auction. We would like to
just encourage parents to send one hundred dollars per household
so we can make our mark for this fundraiser that
didn't happen because of Game seven of.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
The World So what you're telling me is you forgot
to rent the hall, and now the Dodgers have afforded
you a convenient excuse by which to cancel that event.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Oh, I'll just say it's the World Series and no
one has to know that I forgot to rent the
I will.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Give them credit though, like for you know these events, Jason,
that they didn't presume the Dodgers were gonna make the
World Series.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Okay, No, I think that's so good on them.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
Yeah, now canceling it because of the Dodgers World Series.
I can't get on board that. Thinking the disappointing kids.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
All the kids and wanted to not forget it. We're
just gonna thinking the children. And they said, what about
the children? They get the children exit out about a
Fresca exit swollen down.

Speaker 3 (14:19):

Speaker 1 (15:21):
My best friend Mike Harmon. Ah, Happy Halloween, Happy Football Friday.
All my favorite Halloween movies are now. Halloween two, The
most darkest, dimmest, worst lit hospital in the world, we
got a serial killer on the loose. We're gonna bring
the person that survived it there and no protection, hey man, yeah, no, no, no, no, no,

(15:46):
we're not gonna have the lights on in the hospital
at all.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
Well, extra security was needed because they had scheduled uh
World Series game on halloweens, so it really created problems.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
It's a full.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Hospital, but there's three nurses, two orderlies, and I don't
even know that there's a doctor. You don't even see
a doctor.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
And he's on call. Man, he might be well, you
might be sleeping.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
Remember like every medical show, all the shenanigans and tom
foolery that goes on in the rest area.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
He's just catching a couple of wings. Nobody here.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Yeah, we got a full hospital, but and again and
a victim of a serial killer that's happened to survive,
but yet no protection, no police that We're just gonna
bring her and she's gonna be in a room.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
And yeah, we're all good. We're out looking for him.
Don't worry about it, don't worry about We're all fine.
We're all fine here.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Uh Now, speaking of performances on Halloween, as I have said,
we've talked about this the last couple of nights the
seventy six Ers, they lost a night to the Celtics,
had a chance to win the last second, they couldn't.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Quentin Grimes couldn't.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Get a big shot off, so instead Joel Embiide misses
a three.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Which is not where you want to go.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
But the Sixers have gone through the Joel and b
Era to the point where they don't need him anymore.
He's now playing twenty minutes a game. You know, he
doesn't want to be there. He'll get dealt probably by
the end of the calendar year. Forget the deadline. You know,
he's not gonna be a silent guy. He's gonna talk
and talk and talk, and they're gonna say, we just

(17:14):
have to get rid of you, and they'll find a
way to move him so they can move on. Because
they are Maxi and VJ. Edgecombe driven right. As good
as they are, the backcourt duo of Luca and Austin
Reeves might be better to the point where now when
Lebron comes back, he might really be the third option.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Just think about think about this.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
We watched Austin Reeves put together a three game run
this week that was incredible, right, A forty point game,
a fifty point game, a thirty point game, he hits
the game winner. Luca comes back tonight, he scores forty
four in his first game back after injury, the Lakers
winning over Memphis one seventeen, pin twelve. And now we're
talking about the combo of him and Austin Reeves, who

(17:59):
combined for sixty five points. Luca also had twelve rebounds
and six assists, and Austin Reeves had four rebounds and
four assists.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Like, this is the team now?

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Like they just like the sixers have gotten passed, Like, okay,
what do we do with Joelle and Bebiad? It's a problem,
it's a problem, but he's still so good. How do
we figure things out? And all of a sudden, while
they were figuring it out.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Vj. Edgecombe became the number the number two on that team,
and he's terrific. Wow.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
The same thing with the Lakers. What do we do
with Lebron? How do we do it all? Lebron? Lebron Lebron? Well, hey,
here comes Austin Reeves and now him in the backcourt
with Luca really is the one two option. So I
really now Lebron when he does come back at Lebron,
I'm sure thought, well, I'm gonna come back. We're not
gonna win. They're not gonna win without me. I'm gonna
come back and gain some of my stature. Now it's

(18:46):
gonna be, Hey, maybe we don't need him, right, Lakers
have started four and two, They've won on the road. Right,
you had the big Austin on the road. Come right,
you got the Lakers winning tonight on the road. A
bad night from from jam morant? Are they harassed into
a big three for fourteen night? The Lakers have got
something going on here, and it's clearly Luca and Austin
Reeves driven right. I mean, it may be the best

(19:08):
backcourt duo in the game. But really the big question is, hey,
Lebron coming back. You would think that's gonna be a
real boon, But is it gonna be. Is Lebron gonna
come back and embrace his role? Is he gonna take
away by saying I still gotta get mine, I still
gotta be the guy to take all my shots. And
suddenly Austin Reeves's effectiveness is less than what it is

(19:28):
and the Lakers can't don't win because what we're seeing
right now this Luca Reeves, and when Reeves has to
step in, this works, it works really really well. And
now when Lebron comes back, think about it, he really
might be the number three option. And then the drama
really starts because is he gonna be okay with that?

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Is he gonna want out? Does he want to get
back to the Cavaliers?

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Are the Knicks gonna say, hey, wait a minute, our
window is closed because we can't beat anybody.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
We just got boat raced by the bulls. We're two
and three.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Let's go get Lebron and trade somebody else and trade
cat somewhere. Like all of a sudden, you can start
seeing some of these dominoes moving in a lot of
different directions. But just think about that. Lebron could come
back and be the third option with the Lakers.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
It's fantastic theater and certainly here they'll eat it up
here in Los Angeles where we do the show for
those unawares, so that that'll be interesting as that plays
out whenever he does come back. Right, yeah, Charles Barkley
calling out he doesn't have psiatic, It's like, okay, that's
not what the NBA needs, right, Yeah, like both commissioners

(20:34):
of the n b A and and NFL. I mean
like Rob Manford just hangs out with Joe Tory to
get some street cred.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
But these two guys.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
Are like, we can we just go a week when
we just talked about games something on our respective fields,
not officiating blunders or or controversies. I mean hell, I
mean we have proof of concept in the NFL. We
talked about it a little bit on the podcast, Dan
and Ian and I all right, one hundred thousand dollars

(21:03):
fine for the playing with the injury report. Hey, we
did nothing wrong, so say the Ravens one hundred thousand
dollars fine, I'll play with the injury report every week.
I'm not telling you the truth at all or any
of my king players.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 4 (21:19):
Right?

Speaker 3 (21:19):
Likewise, the NBA, same thing, like what's going on? I
don't know. You were not really gonna investigate it?

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Are they really gonna look deep into this that the
other Lebron's name or anybody that comes up in any
of these events.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
No, moving on.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Hey, you know we're a highlight real society, and this
is where our league thrives. So check this out here.
I made this super cut with a cool little back
background splash to it. So yeah, but for Lebron, yeah,
it'll be interesting to see. I mean, Austin Reeves steps
into it in a huge way, a little bit of
a step back here, right because Luca goes and ball

(21:59):
dominant twenty seven shots, nearly double what Reeves had. So
I mean, I don't know, maybe he's unhappy. Maybe Austin
Reeves becomes dysgruntled because he's not getting enough shot. How
about that? See hot take nonsense. Jake Laravia off the bench.
He had thirteen, he was five to eight, so keeping
an eye on that. But they also had DeAndre eight
and couldn't play because of backspasms in the second half,

(22:21):
so you know, big men already having issues. So hey, Lebron,
hurry back so we can get the drama on the court.
But do it after about eleven o'clock Pacific tomorrow because
Game seven will be over and we'll need a new story.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Exit out about a Fresca exit swallowing dome. Jason Smith
Mike Harmon live from the Fox Sports Radio Studios. Coming
up in ninety seconds, we'll preview three of the biggest
Games of.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
The Week in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
We also have more of the World Series coming up,
but right now, let's find out what's trending in the
wide world of sports.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
From Special Delivery Steve De Sager a s D. What
do you got for us?

Speaker 5 (22:53):
We're gonna have a Game seven of the World Series
Saturday night in Toronto about eight pm Eastern Time on
Fox TV Sports in Canada. Points out this will be
the first Game seven played in Toronto to determine a
major sports championship since the nineteen sixty four Stanley Cup.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto became just the fourth Dodger pitcher ever to

(23:14):
in a single postseason have four wins. Clayton Kersha had
four in twenty twenty when the Dodgers World Series was won,
Julio Arias had four wins that year, and Bert Houton
in nineteen eighty one's run to the title had four wins. Yamamoto,
the winner tonight three, won the final at Toronto. Yamamoto
threw ninety six pitches in his six innings. He had

(23:35):
six strikeouts. Tough luck loss for Kevin Gossman, who was
excellent early struck out seven of the first nine LA
batters to start the game, but the Dodgers wound up
getting their three runs in the third, all after a
two out intentional walk to Shohei Otani. The game ended
when the Blue Jays lined into a double play and
short left the third twin killing LA had turned assist

(23:58):
to Keike Hernandez is put out at second base by
tonight's starter, there veteran Miguel Rojas. Max Schurzer is due
to start Game seven in Toronto for the home team,
one of the rare pitchers to more than once in
his career start a World Series, winner take all Game seven,
and Surezer, at age forty one, will be the oldest

(24:19):
starting pitcher in a winner take all World Series again
eight pm Eastern Time Saturday night, the Dolphins parted ways
with general manager Chris Greer, but head coach Mike McDaniel
will stay for this year at least.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Miami two and.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
Seven Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was still limited in practice
Friday with a foot injury. Bears running back DeAndre Swift
is out with a groin injury. Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter
went on injured reserve after a non contact knee injury
in practice Thursday. He's a wide receiver and defensive back.
Dallas punter Brian Anger missed practice due to illness. The

(24:54):
Ravens were fined one hundred thousand dollars for an injury
report violation last week. The nf bill's trade deadline comes
up Tuesday. In college football, number twenty five, Memphis won
thirty eight to fourteen at Rice. Memphis eight and one
this year. North Carolina had been zero to three in
the ACC but one at Syracuse, dominating the second half
twenty seven to ten. Louisiana Tech wins fifty five to

(25:16):
fourteen over Sam Houston, which is oh to eight for Texas.
Quarterback Arch Manning is off the injury report after a concussion.
The Fox TV game at noon Eastern times Saturday. Number
one Ohio State host Penn State. The first college football
playoff rankings come out Tuesday. In the NBA's late game,
the Clippers got the last second game winner from Kawhi Leonard.
He had thirty four points in a win over New

(25:38):
Orleans won twenty six one twenty four. Pelicans have lost
five straight. Phoenix had lost four in a row, but
they beat you to Portland surprise Denver with a couple
of late free throws edge from one oh nine one
oh seven. The Lakers got Luka Doncic back from injury.
He scored forty four points in a win at Memphis
one seventeen one twelve. Road wins for Atlanta and Toronto

(25:58):
and Boston, which edge on Philadelphia one o nine, one
oh eight, Chicago five and oh after beating New York
won thirty five, won twenty five. Anthony Davis of Dallas
will miss at least two games with a straying calf.
NHL wins for Colorado, the Islanders, and Anaheim at home
took the late game five to two against Detroit, and
by the way, going into tonight, the World Series viewership,

(26:19):
if you confine the US ratings plus Canada and Japan,
it's been averaging twenty eight million viewers. Got over thirty
million for Game four.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve, Though Jason Smith Mike
Carmon live from the Fox Sports Radio studios, we have
more in the World Series coming up at about fifteen minutes,
a little bit less than that Big Bowl prediction for
Game seven, but it is of course a big football Friday,
which means we take a look at all the big
games in the NFL. Last hour we talked the game

(26:50):
of the week Kansas City and Buffalo. Time not to
break down the three biggest games of this Sunday, and
we'll start things off with the guy with the most
pressure on him, and that is, without a doubt, JJ McCarthy.
Pressure on him, pressure on Minnesota to show they were
right about the quarterback position, because with every passing day,

(27:13):
Minnesota looks so bad for kicking Sam Darnald to the curb.
For JJ McCarthy, because he's someone that when he's played,
he has not played well. Maybe they've been keeping him
away from the team and out of the lot, waiting
as long as they can to get him back in
there because they know he's not ready yet, which is
awful because you could have kept Sam Darnold, You could

(27:33):
have gone out and got Aaron Rodgers if you didn't.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Think he was ready.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
But no, no, no, we love JJ McCarthy, And honestly,
who boots a quarterback that throws for four thousand yards
and thirty five touchdowns at the curb? Nobody does that
except the Vikings. They need this to work out. They
need JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
To work out.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
It is not happening this week. Not that it's gonna
be another bad week for Minnesota. Look there near unbeatable
at home. They're gonna pressure McCarthy all game. The offense
is gonna run up points. I can't believe the over
under is only at forty eight. I think at this point,
if you're the Lions, you know you're at the top
of the the NFC. Let's go out and let's win

(28:15):
the games big that we can. They're gonna get out
score a ton of points. The only question I got
for the Lions right now is that you gave Jamison
Williams a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Do you really need him? Right?

Speaker 1 (28:24):
Like John Morton, their OC said this week, he I
failed him. You know they met because he says, I
have to be able to get him the football. But
do you really I mean, do you really need to
your offense?

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Is this good?

Speaker 1 (28:34):
I don't know that. He's not a luxury and not
somebody that in the offseason. Well, we got to pay
Jamir Gibbs, we got to keep him around. So all right,
we'll move on from Jamison Williams. You know, he kind
of is what he is now. Like he's been in
the league a few years. And if you think suddenly
he's gonna be a great.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
One, a, I don't know. He's been around.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Yes, he came off the injury and yet, but he's
had time to get in there and be elite. And
sometimes he catches two passes a game. He is a
big fat zero a week ago, So I don't know
that it matters. They can try to get him the ball,
but it really makes no difference. Detroit's gonna roll over
Minnesota in this game, and it's just gonna be another
tough week for the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Detroit getting healthy in the secondary. Aiden Hutchinson wants to
show off his shiny new contract, and JJ McCarthy will
be on his back quite a bit. Now you're you
find some solace and Jefferson is getting targeted. They're throwing
the ball his way, not to great success. Some mean
you're looking at trying to eclipse that eighty yard mark

(29:32):
and wishing and wanting and hoping that you'll find the
end zone. I know Carson Wentz was very adamant about Hey,
it was my decision to keep going out there wait
to cover for your guy. But I gotta say the
more egregious issue that the and move the Vikings didn't make.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
It's not signing Sam Darnold. Daniel Jones was in that building.
Oh let him?

Speaker 4 (29:53):
Yeah yeah yeah, everybody just because because he was costing
you nothing.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Yeah yeah, yeah right. I mean was it fifteen million
dollars or something like that? Like that's nothing.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I mean the Vikings look like they have no idea
or they were just stubborn saying no, jj McCarthy's our guy.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
God, come on, man, everybody but him.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
It's just like this would happened to the Jets, like, hey,
we have all these quarterbacks we and of course whoever
they choose is wrong, right that that's like this is
like Jets type stuff that's going on in Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
I mean in the end, you know, you've probably had
some choices, and Jones thought he had a better chance
to play in Indianapolis and beat out Richardson over what
would have happened in McCarthy. So, you know, all things equal,
and might have taken an awful lot of money to
get him to day, you know, to be a.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Backup and a guy in waiting.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
But all of that to say, now it's all on
McCarthy behind an offensive line where darisaw he is questionable
to play, and even if he is, he's hampered and
has been your right tackles out. So yeah, no, it's
it's a no go for me. It's it's Detroit, no route.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
The Colts and the Steelers.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
You bring up Daniel Jones, I give you another win
for the Colts.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
Yea, and proof.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
The AFC North stinks and is the worst division in football.
If Pittsburgh had their normal Pittsburgh defense, which we've talked
with this since the early part of the season, they
don't have it, right. Congratulations to everybody else who realized
that I could see Indianapolis with a toast ub kind
of game. But the Colts are elite. I don't know
what else you need to see. Oh, I don't know

(31:28):
if they can keep it up. I don't know if
Daniel Jones is just good. We're midway through the season.
They have the best record in the AFC. They're the
best team in the AFC. They have too many weapons
to cover. The Steelers aren't good enough anywhere else. The
game will start close, but Indianapolis talent should pull away.
The best team in the AFC gets another big statement
type win and more people start believing in them as

(31:50):
the best team in that conference.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Jonathan Daylor is running around like he's the ultimate warrior,
coming to the ring. Okay, every night screaming, or maybe
like the kids in weapons, whatever you want to do.
It is Halloween, let's go with the ladder. But all
of that to say that the balance that they've achieved
is ridiculous. Pittman's been fantastic. Obviously, we know Warren's the

(32:13):
guy the Bear should have drafted, but that's a whole
other thing for another time. You keep going on down
the line, there's too much balance, and that defense had
a nice three game stretch where they piled up a
lot of sacks.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
That seems like a year ago for that Pittsburgh defense.
And offensively, Warren's been nice.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
He's a good volume guy, and I'll catch some passes
out of the backfield. But Aaron Rodgers isn't moving the
ball terribly effectively. You're averaging about two oh five or
two oh seven or whatever whatever that specific number is.
It's less than two twenty that I'm sure of. But
all of that is you don't have the go to
downfield right It's a lot of get the ball out

(32:53):
to get out of harm's ways. So you're taking the
short and hoping for yak. No chance they get They
get beaten at home.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Now I'm gonna give you my upset of the week.
It does, it doesn't.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
It doesn't make sense on surface because way we lost
one of our two most indispensable players. But give me
the Giants in an upset over San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Oh no, you're going against Alabama. Mac. Look they lost
Camp Scataboo. I get it.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
They were very emotional last week. Maybe too emotional. Okay,
you're bad. It's very emotional, and you don't do the
broken voice when he gets duh, too emotional during the
Philadelphia game. Now that back there, focused Jackson Dart's a
guy that plays with a chip on his shoulder. It's
a long trip for a still beat up pretender San
Francisco team. And the big thing is teams are starting

(33:44):
to figure out Mac Jones a little bit, and the
Giants defensive line will cause enough havoc. I'm getting points,
and that's fine. I'm never gonna turn down the points, right,
but I'm only getting two and a half. It's okay,
I'm not gonna need him. The Giants win on the field,
they beat San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Yeah, this one, that's really interesting.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
San Francisco a two and a half point favorite on
the road over Under is all the way up at
forty eight, which you know, I do my rock eyebrow
raise right there. That seems awful high for these two squads.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
That's right, because that's.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
That's only four points behind what we're talking about for
Chiefs and Bills.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Yeah, yeah, right, two teams that are.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
Replete with big times options. The big thing here is McCaffrey,
third most targeted player in the National Football League right now.
He'll be big in the passing game and you can
go and attack that giant secondary. That back seven can
be had for the forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
You are hurt defensively so that there might be a
little bit of room.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Tracy's one of those volume guys for you there, and
Dart'll make some plays with his legs, still playing a
little recklessly because he's gonna need to. But then it
becomes the all right, you're getting big, big production out
of Wandelle Robinson in company.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
No, I'm not buying it. I'll take San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Exit out bout a Fresco exit swollen dome. There you go,
three of the biggest games of the weekend in the NFL.
Coming up next, we take a look back at the
biggest play of Game six of the World Series, made
big Bowl predictions for Game seven, and tell you who
deserves the most credit out of anybody following Game six.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
