Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Greetings, Welcome in Side hour three The Jason Smith Show
with my bes friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah, let's go.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Tonight show brought to my DraftKings sportsbook and official sports
betting partner of the NFL and NBA. Right now, use
the promo code JSS to claim your special offer at DraftKings. Again,
that's promo code JSS at DraftKings. The crown is yours.
We are headed to Game seven of the World Series
because of one of the crazier bot of the ninth

(00:59):
innings you will ever see Roki Sasaki, who got out
of the eighth inning for the Dodgers a little bit
of difficulty but gets a big strikeout of Dalton var
Show to end the inning. Starts the ninth with a
little bit of trouble hits Alejandro Kirk. First batter reaches
base on a hit by pitch, then you get a

(01:21):
double to the wall, and not just any double to
the wall by Addison Barger. The ball lands at the
base of the wall and it sticks between the padding
and the ground. Right away. Call is in center field
for defensive purpose or dinas in center field for defensive purposes.
In the top of the ninth inning, right away he

(01:41):
throws his hands up and says, the ball is lodged.
I can't get it. Meanwhile, of course the Blue Jays
are rounding the bases and hey was tying the game.
But absolutely the right call was made in a situation
like that is a dead ball as a ground rule double,
no run score. So instead we have runners at second
and third and nobody out. That knocks Roki Sasaki out

(02:03):
of the ball game. In comes Tyler Glasnow, who in
theory would be the guy starting Game seven of the
World Series tomorrow for the Dodgers. But you got to
get to Game seven before you know you have that happen.
So he comes in and right away Clement pops up
to first base first pitch with Glassnow out of the bullpen.

(02:26):
Allows him to settle, allows him to feel okay, I
can feel pretty good about what's going on with the
runner at third doesn't matter, but I get out of here.
So now it's one out, and then Andres Jimenez comes
up second and third, one out, a chance to be
the hero. And this is how the final play of
game six unfolded.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Go one on line drive what center Hernandez playing short
makes the crab throw this second he's out, Puncher tubled
off and the game is over.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Blue Jay's Radio new work on the call. That's exactly
how it went. Keith k Hernandez comes in, the Dodgers
make an incredible defensive play to save game six. Did
not have that in my Bengo card at all, but
they do. Great play by Rojas, great play by Key
k Hernandez.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
You know, we talked a few minutes ago about the
bad base running. It was by Addison Barger, who there
was no reason for him to be off the base
that long. He's got to know where the ball is
gonna land. But overall, when this game ends the way
it does, there's somebody that's got to get a lot
of credit because it's he gets a lot of flak,
but tonight more so than I feel like he always

(03:39):
has a feel of the game. I feel like there's
sometimes where Dave Roberts just rolls sevens and and there's
nothing you can do. Like he's that hot guy at
the craps table. That's just hey, man, he just keep
giving him the.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
Dice, man, He just keeps He hasn't even gotten to
a number yet. Yeah, exactly didn't.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
He did in the playoffs last year when they were
facing elimination against the Padres and he brought in thirteen
relievers to win Game four and they wound up winning.
He has his moments, and when you think about the
moves that he made tonight, again, it's more of a
rolling sevens than it is boy. Dave Roberts is always
a great, a great tactician, right because clearly, hey, this

(04:17):
move didn't what is this happening? What is this going
on here? But you think about all the things that
he did tonight, right, dropping Mookie Betts from third to fourth, Well,
why did that work? In a three to one game?
Mookie Bets got the biggest hit, right, drove in two
runs with a single in the third inning. Maybe getting
out of his slump. Clearly. Otani got a hit as
well tonight, and a big double off the wall in

(04:39):
left center field. But he moves Mooki bets the four spot.
Mookie Betts comes through right, moving Dean into center field
to start the ninth inning. Right away, as soon as
that ball hit the ground, smart enough to no defensive replacement,
Dean is, Hey can't get it. Don't want to go
after it. Don't want it. Because you go after it,
something could happen the runner. Runner's gonna wind up scoring
from first, and maybe the battle gets all the way

(05:00):
to third. Hey don't go after the ball right away.
Knew the right play to make. Hey can't get it.
So now runners, it's second and third going to Sasaki
in the eighth inning. Sasaki gets out of it in
the eighth You would think, okay, well he's in until
this game's over. But you've seen Sasaki a couple of
times in the playoffs. As good as he's been, boy,
when he hits a rut, it's hard to get him out.

(05:20):
When he hit Kirk to start the ninth inning, I said,
uh oh, this is not the elite Sasaki we're used to.
And then double off the wall he comes out to
get him, goes to the right guy in Tyler Glasnow
who gets the final out two outs of the game
on the or the final three outs of the game
on the pop up and the double play. Dave Roberts
rolled sevens with all of his managerial decisions tonight, and

(05:44):
you gotta give him credit for it. Again, it's more
like it's a hot streak than it is. Hey a
great tactician, but you got to give him credit because
all of those moves were all so important to their
victory tonight in forcing games so well.

Speaker 6 (05:55):
But that's the beauty of it, right, is that you
don't need to be hot for a very long time. Here,
take your money in and walk away from the table
after tomorrow's game. And yeah, you had to get to
tomorrow's game. Something we talked about a little bit, and
the handling and some of the media responsibilities. Look, the
questions that you have to answer about sho Hao Tani
and his usage, we're all finding good. But they came

(06:16):
up with a great plant here right, moving Mooki in
the line of putting Will Smith second, bringing Rojas into
play second base. He was huge defensively. Mookie Betts talked
about it in the post game, you know that he
was looking to Rojas for guidance as to what to
do in this kind of you know, this this kind
of moment with this gravitas. All right, where am I going?

(06:38):
What am I doing? You know, help me keep my head,
you know, and let's have a game plan here as
to how we're doing it. And he made sure to
point out I was yelling to key k too too too,
so all that but like all the defensive you know,
situational moments, and Rojas had so many in this game.
Gotta gotta give the guy the flowers because it was

(07:00):
time to be ready. And as we were talking about Dean,
you know, it's like there used to be the running
joke for the award shows, you know, sing a song,
win a Granny usually was what worked, which is why
it was such a big deal when Metallica played a
song and then jeth throw Toll won a Grammy.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
That's one of the infamous moments in the history. But
the point of it is.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
All of a sudden, you got, hey, there's Dean as
the replacement that usually foreshadows, say, hey, that guy's gonna
be pretty instrumental about what's gonna unfold here in a minute,
Like he's a guest star and a TV he's gonna
be the bad guy, and in this case, what the
hell is god? No, no, I mean, clearly he's the
guy that did it. He's not there as a bit player.

(07:43):
But then Dean, they show him smiling, and then the
inning starts and he makes that big immediate call, not
a not a big thrown, not a leaping over the
wall catch. All he did was raise his arms. Knowing
the ground rules of a baseball diamond, you get a
game ball and a key to the city after tomorrow's game.

Speaker 7 (08:04):
You know.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
In a softball game once that I played, we were
playing was a big semi final game and I was
playing left center field and a guy we had they
had a runner at first base, and this guy hits
one one bounce to the fence. And the thing is
that the way the fence was, it was bushes and
a fence, so it was so as soon as the
ball went into the fence, like the ball went to

(08:24):
the fence and bounced the ground, and I could see it.
But right away I put my glove down. I put
my glove up, and I turn around and I said,
you know, can't get it, can't get it. The guy
round it first, got he's getting to second. When I
turned around and said I couldn't get it. The guy
was so mad right Like, I couldn't believe the guy
was so mad. He rounded second, he was getting to second.
The yump call's time because the play is over right,

(08:47):
so the grunner has to go back to third base.
The guy gets to second and starts coming out towards me,
like what the hell I'm going? I go, you gotta
go back to second base. Man, you gotta go back
to second base. Like I'm like, what are you mad
at me? Like you're you're out of control right now?
You got to go back to say And luckily the
umpire knew okay, this guy's out of control, and I said,
you got to throw him out of the game. Guy's

(09:08):
got to go. He told me out of the game.
You could have got that ball and go. You can't
come at you. You can't come at me. I said,
you want to come out me, You come at me
in the parking lot after the game.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
No, who, I was saying this.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
This guy's like three inches taller than me. He's got
me by like thirty pounds. But I'm like, but you know,
I was. I always something happens when I play sports
and I say stuff like that, I go, you want
to come at me the parking lot after the game?
Go back to second base, and then like, I don't
know what happened, but the umpire brought him back, and
then like the rest of the game we're playing. I'm going, man,
I wonder if he's really gonna be looking for me

(09:37):
in the parking lot after the game. Yeah goodness. Now
they wound up scoring runs both guy I think nothing
really happened after the game and the guy we shook
hands like in line and everything, and everything was fine,
but they wound up scoring runs on both of those plays.
So I was like, okay, you know they scored runs.
You know, he wan, I'm scoring runs in the kings.
It was not that big a deal.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
But you'll look over your shoulder as you walk to
your car. Did you have like key out in the
whole nine?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (10:01):
I had my hair in hand.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
I had my keys in my hand, like like the
like one key between each knuckle, like so you were
a Wolverene. Yeah, like I could really do some damage.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Yeah, yeah, nicely done.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
No, but I don't. I don't. I don't remember saying
like to the big guy, my hey, will you walk
me to my car, because this guy's gonna want to
fight me in the parking lot.

Speaker 8 (10:25):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
So we won the game, but they scored the runs,
and I think everything turned out okay. But I I
as soon as you did. I remember them going, man,
I can't that guy that ran out of side and
he just kept coming at me in left center field
because you could have caught the ball. And of course
I could have got the ball. But if I get
the ball all the way at the end of the
left center field and throw it, by the time I
throw the ball in, he's probably at third and they

(10:47):
score a run. So I'm keeping the guy at second
base by saying can't get the ball, and and he
would have gotten the third base, but just man to
see him run a second base in the ump call
time and he just keeps running off the back, like
what do you you to come out and fight me
because the ball is because I thought I could have
got to the ball and I didn't. This guy just
gonna come flying and tackled me like I was wondering,

(11:08):
am I gonna wind up in some sort of sports
compilation videos. And this craziness from a softball game in Southington, Connecticut, Like,
I was wondering if that was gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (11:17):
To me America's funniest home video. Watch this guy try
to outrun someone who's mad at him on a softball field.
Imagine the music they would play under it. As the
late great Bob Sagett introduced the clip, I mean, it would.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Have been great. Well, wasn't there a game a bunch
of years ago. I think it was a Japanese game
where a guy threw it at one of the hitters
and he chased the He stormed the mound and the
picture just ran away from him.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
He was running like all throughout the field into the outfield.
The guy couldn't catch him because the picture was faster.

Speaker 6 (11:48):
Yeah, it was almost like security chasing someone who's going
streaking on the villin.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
I forget who that was, but I was like, oh
my god, that's amazing. Now, look going into games, Evan,
I I it's it's hard when your momentum is the
next day starting pitcher in baseball, but after today seeing
the Dodger bats awaken a little bit, right, Not it
wasn't a five four hits.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
I that was what we were talking about with id right,
but seven was there eight guys to make make an
appearance on the on the diamond, I e at Mase
were your first four hitters, but it.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Was it was the top of the order that got
you know. Otani had a you know, had a hit
and a double. He had a big double off the wall.
He scored a run. Will Smith had the big RBI single,
Mookie Bets I had the big rb I double, Mookie
Bets the big rb I single. They each walked once.
It was a horrible game for ti Oscar Hernandez, like
his at bat with the bases loaded when it could
have broken the game open, was just absolutely awful. But

(12:50):
looking at the game tomorrow, thinking and that it's gonna
be Otani in the beginning for as long as he
can go, I have a hard time seeing the Blue
Jay knocking Otani out of the game. In it win
the World Series Game seven type situation. The Dodger bats
awaken a little bit. I think they get out early,
they get a couple of runs early. Otani pitches really well,

(13:13):
turns it over to Glasgow who's likely gonna come in
after and the Dodgers win Game seven. This was the
Blue Jays chance to win the World Series. And Yoshinoba Yamamoto,
who likely is gonna wind up being the World Series
MVP if the Dodgers win was more than enough. Today
six innings, one run, fifteen innings in the World Series
he allowed just one run. He's had an incredible run.

(13:35):
Now Otani could pitch seven innings tomorrow, hit three home
runs and he'll be the World Series MVP. But you know, really, yeah,
so far Yamamoto is the guy. I have a hard
time seeing the Dodgers not building on the success the
top of the lineup had today, and with Otani pitching
to start the game tomorrow, they feel incredibly confident. I

(13:56):
see the Dodgers winning this and all of a sudden,
it's an incredible back and the Dodgers go to Canada,
win the last two games and win the World Series.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Yeah, as we look at it right here, the implied
odds the the Dodgers with the slight edge minus one
forty seven.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
So we we You said forty seven, not thirty seven.

Speaker 6 (14:16):
That implies about a fifty nine and a half percent
win rate. Still waiting for some of the other details
to come out, right, the official announcement of different things
so we can get deeper into the outs. And the
game's been ship based on the algorithms and all the
numbers being run. But you know, coming out of that,

(14:36):
this is just like the eighteen game Freddie Freeman home run.
Is this enough to deflate the Blue Jays? It didn't before,
but now it becomes, you know, imperative that they get
a deep run out of show. Hey Otani to start
things just again, going back to I don't want to
I don't want that bullpen. Even even if Glass is

(14:56):
gonna be on a heater, I love that he'll be ready.
He threw three pitches. I can't underscore that enough. Three
pitches to get out of that inning, to get out
of that jam pop up, and then that crazy play
to end it. So to be the man, you gotta
beat the man, and I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (15:17):

Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon Tonight shob brought to you by DraftKings
sportsbook and official sports betting partner the NFL and NBA.
Right now, use the promo code JSS to claim your
special offer. Draftings again, that's promo code JSS at DraftKings.
JSS is your promo code DraftKings. The crown is yours. Well,

(16:54):
finally starting to come down a little bit from Game
six of the World Series and that shocking ending. So
you know there is something to be said, Mike, when
you build towards a game and you get an incredible ending,
an incredible showdown. But sometimes when when a game ends
so quickly like a flash flood, it's it's it's the

(17:15):
best kind of ending possible, Like you are settling in
for this is gonna be a long bottom of the
ninth inning, right, So soccerts the first batter, then the
next batter hits a double, we get a pitching change. Okay,
Glass Dell's gonna throw forty five pitches, and are we
gonna Are we gonna be tied going to the tenth inning?
Are the Dodgers gonna find a way Because at that point,
your best your best thought was for the Dodgers was Okay,

(17:39):
they get out of this inning and the game is tied, right,
that's you want to go to the tenth inning because
runners at second and third, nobody out. You're thinking a
tie game is about where you're at. When when you
have a new pitcher coming in and there's nobody out
and three pitches later the game is over. We're like,
you're settling to have a sandwich. I'm gonna have a drink.
It's Halloween. I might give some candy to some kids. Yeah,

(18:00):
I'll get back. Oh no, no, three pitches and it's over,
just like that. It's so fast, it's so stunning. And
I love endings like that because they're so unexpected and
it takes you while to process what you just saw.
Uh there, When when you get stuff like that, it
just can't be beat. Man. I love I love dragging
things out and and and and and taking in the

(18:20):
suppleness of the moment. But sometimes something like that just
so quick and fast. Oh fantastic.

Speaker 6 (18:25):
It's funny talking with with ian in for Justin Frossberg
and and with Mary, you know, kind of talking about
the game and and you know, these are the types
of moments for you and I that I mean this,
this is the gig, man, that it's the best that
we get right, because yesterday we broke down in grand fashion.
Thursday Night Football, ravens Uh and Dolphins, The Return of

(18:48):
Lamar Jackson, the inefficiencies and ineffectiveness and and thwarted efforts
of the Dolphins, some of the pivotal plays, whatever, But
the game overall played as we would would have expected.
Right we the end Ravens win going away, and now
the run is on for the AFC North. That's great
tonight we get to this and it's the ninth inning

(19:10):
Glass now is coming in. Sosaki looked shaken, right, the
hit by pitch followed by the big double. We get
the curiosity of how that play was gonna be adjudicated.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Right, I'm in the studio.

Speaker 6 (19:22):
I got no benefit of sound, so I can't hear
how they're talking about it whatever, And so you're just
waiting with baited breath to see an umpire come on
and have a hand gesture to fit it up. Like
I think I know what's gonna be ruled, but who
knows that kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
So we start getting the tension.

Speaker 6 (19:41):
Here comes Glass now, okay, Dave Roberts going to work,
and just like that it ends. Right, it's the movie
with the giant build and then it finishes in two
or three minutes like normally, I'm unsatisfied with those and
he's like, no, they just didn't know how to finish,
so they just did this, wrote it, crossed it he
and we were.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Done in this game.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
They're like, wow, that was three pitches and one of
the finals over and by the ways of that's it
right that that's Connor McGregor, Ronda Rousey or Mike Tyson
after financed as pugilists.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Wait, you blinked, you missed it. I you know what
I thought of when when it happened.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
I always think back to the moment in Rocky four
when when Dragon was winning and all of a sudden
you get the slow motion he's cut, the Russian is
cut and Drago you know, he's got the big cut
on his head and he looks back like, whoa, Rocky
just cut him? Because that was so much, so far
out of left field that that you know, this is
what you're gonna see, Like, okay, and now you're gonna

(20:41):
get a Rocky come back and slowly he's gonna come
back somehow, But instead you just get a real fast
he's cut, the Russian is cut. It's like whoa, whoa, whoa,
that just came out of nowhere. Oh my god, hang
on a second, man, that that was. That was kind
of when when cut that ball and through the second
I was like, wow, it's just that fast.

Speaker 6 (20:57):
Well, you about lost your mind the excited utterances. I mean,
you didn't curse, So that was good. If we'd had
now I was the excitement that would have been what
happened to Jason and bad things?

Speaker 1 (21:08):
I was five seconds ahead of you guys? Is that
what I was?

Speaker 3 (21:12):
That's about three four seconds, yes, so whatever.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
I can imagine what the Sager must have looked like
hearing me, because I remember right after that was, oh
my god, we have Game seven. We're going I can
imagine what the Sager is doing hearing that.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
Well, we're trying to figure out, Okay, what the hell
happened to get us to Game seven?

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Like what what? What am I about to see?

Speaker 1 (21:32):
On Bold?

Speaker 6 (21:35):
It was great though, like we look, we've beuld locked
eyes up a number of times during the during the
course of the game, you know, with the different circumstances, uh,
and game situations, runners on and and pitch counts and
whatever else.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (21:50):
In this case, I didn't have any complaints about Dodgers defense.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
That might be a first this year, right, one.

Speaker 6 (21:57):
Hundred and sixty two regular season games plus whatever the
number is officially in these postseason series, Like this is
the first time you didn't say, all right, they did
that wrong?

Speaker 3 (22:07):
They did that.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
No, it was a masterclass. He Steven brought up the
double plays. I don't think we thought this was how
the last one would be recording. Uh, seven to four
is your final coming up?

Speaker 1 (22:22):
In ninety seconds. We celebrate that we're getting a Game
seven of the World Series the best way we know how.
But first, a man who did stand up saying Jason
Smith is so great. I love him because he knows
it's going to be a Game seven. It's Steve de Seger.
He has what's trending.

Speaker 8 (22:36):
Wow, not even close to true wow.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Okay, like you, Steve, how about that?

Speaker 8 (22:43):
Actually, when when I heard you start to scream in
the bottom of the ninth, my assumption, having seen this
bullpen before, is that's a two run single.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
I thought it was me. Joe Carter just hit a
walk off home run again and the Blue Jays won.

Speaker 6 (22:57):
The world because you did four Oh oh oh oh oh.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
So that was long enough right for he and I
to both get on edge.

Speaker 8 (23:05):
But the play deserved it, because my goodness, it's a
light hitting guy at the plate, and therefore Keith Hernandez
is playing in and left and then the second Oh
my goodness, I can't believe a runner was doubled off
to end the game. George Springer, and he did play
at DH tonight. George Springer was near the on deck
circle and just about doubled over in dejection seeing that

(23:29):
go on when you saw the overview of the camera.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
But Dodgers those Hartford Whaler's batting gloves. George Springer ye

The game ended with the Blue Jays.

At least.

(27:09):
Penn State, noon Eastern Time.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Back to you, Creamy Rice.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Fried Rice? Is that better.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
That's better. But I'm saying creamy rice because I could
spill cheese in it and have it. Oh my goodness.
Now hang around with Steve O because to celebrate Game
seven of the World Series, it is time to play
magic hitting up his Twitter account following the game. So
we play the Magic Johnson Twitter game. No more obvious

(27:39):
and vanilla tweeter in the world than Magic Johnson. So
we played the Magic Johnson Twitter game. It's pretty simple,
but it's also very complicated. I give you a tweet,
you have to tell me if it is a Magic
Johnson tweet or made up by me playing as myself.
Mike Harmon, Steve Desager, Ian Roddy, Mary Mack. Are you ready?

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Le's get on, Hell yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
What a double play by Key k Hernandez and Miguel Rojas.
We have game seven? Is that a Magic Johnson tweet?

Speaker 3 (28:13):
How many exclamation points? After Game seven?

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Two? What a double play by Miguel by by Hernez
and Miguel Rojas. We have game seven to exclamation point?

Speaker 3 (28:24):
That is a Magic Johnson. Okay, yes, I'll say yea.

Speaker 9 (28:29):
My first instinct was yes, but I'm just a zag
I'm gonna say no, Okay, Mary, what do you got'n?

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Yeah, that is, in fact not a Magic Johnson tweet. No,
just just go on the other side. I even got
Mary on the reveal. That's amazing. Another outstanding pitching performance
by Yamamoto to help lead us to a three to

(28:57):
one victory over the Blue Jays and forced games seven.
Is that a Magic Johnson tweet?

Speaker 3 (29:05):
No, because he always uses full name.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Another outstanding pitching performance by Yama Moto to help lead
us to a three to one victory over the Blue
Jays and force game seven. Okay, Harmon's and no, all right,
that's a no Ian where are you? I'm gonna say
no as well on that one, Okay. I trust Mike
on the full name thing.

Speaker 9 (29:25):
That sounds okay, Okay, I don't know, dang it might
not be, but I'm already that because the first one wasn't.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
So what it is we need this is she's thinking
about it a little too much.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
See Mary, Now you get the more you think about it,
the more difficult ending your mind. And remember when that happens,
Magic Johnson wins.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
Because the full name does make sense. So I'm just
I'm just gonna say no to be safe.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
All right, well, you guys all said that is a
magic Johnson the tweet, Yes, just said Yamamoto. There were,
in fact, though, five exclamation points after game seven. Okay,
we're five five after that.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Five, he's really changing things up. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (30:09):
Well, well it's like the name thing. Because he's normally
first and last. He is usually a stickler for that
too long. I might be he ran out of characters,
especially if he was going to use all those exclamation
points and he's still be right now.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Buckle in, you guys, buckled in Dodger Nation. The World
Series is tied three to three. If we win tomorrow,
we win the title.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
Oh how dare you? Is how dare you?

Speaker 1 (30:39):
A magic?

Speaker 6 (30:41):
Because you have no no, no, no, but you have
to go down the rabbit hole.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
Right.

Speaker 6 (30:46):
Based on the tweet he sent earlier this week, this
is why we're in the fifth Ring of Hell.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
Because it is so.

Speaker 6 (30:53):
He did he double down to be fair after getting
his ten million clicks?

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Did he doubble down to give everybody the backdrop on
this magic? Johnson tweeted out after after game two that hey, everybody,
the World Series is tied to two games, apiece. The
winner of Game five gets a big advantage in the
World series. That was a tweet earlier this week. If

(31:19):
the Dodgers win tomorrow, they win the title.

Speaker 8 (31:23):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he doubled down.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Yeah, whoever runs his account doubled down?

Speaker 1 (31:30):
No, I stand for him.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
No.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Yeah, I'm gonna say no as well, Jason.

Speaker 9 (31:34):
I think you're trying to trick us by doing the
double like I think you're bringing up his former tweets.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
You know, you guys just sound angry right now, I
mean you guys correct. Dang all right, so Mary, you're
the last one.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Damn it got her swearing.

Speaker 6 (31:55):
Now be a happy Halloween celebratory I'm gonna say, yeah,
why not?

Speaker 1 (32:07):
That is.

Speaker 5 (32:13):
A tweet made up by me. That is not a
magic tweet the game. No, it should have started going
down that rabbit hole.

Speaker 6 (32:26):
It's like, all right, it's something Smith would do, but
it's definitely something magic.

Speaker 9 (32:30):
With But every time you play it adds a new
layer to it, because it's like, now he's going to
be thinking that we think it's something that he would
think that.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
We think that now it do straight, what the hell
are you saying right there? So clearly I cannot choose
the glass in front of me. What the world can
that be? Mookie Bets drove in two runs, Will Smith
the third run? I can't wait until tomorrow. Go Dodgers's

(32:58):
tweet to a Magic Johnson tweet. Mookie Bets drove in
two runs and Will Smith the third run, I can't
wait until tomorrow, Go Dodgers.

Speaker 9 (33:08):
I mean he's reporting the news, He's given a little
little insight.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
I'm gonna say it is a real tweet. I'll go
with it. I'll follow your lead.

Speaker 8 (33:15):
There, you following the princess bride. I'll say as you wish.

Speaker 9 (33:21):
I'm not even on this on the board like I'm
kind of mad already.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
It's okay, your your job is not on the line.

Speaker 9 (33:28):
I'm gonna say, as far as you know, I think,
I'm gonna say, no, it's not.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
A Magic Johnson tweet. Inconceivable, that is in fact a
Magic Johnson tweet. Yes, Magic Johnson. Yet that out there
we go about Mookie Betts and Will Smith using both names.

(33:55):
Didn't use him for Yamamoto there. I'll tell you this
was a very difficult edition. Mary, what do you think?

Speaker 6 (34:01):
What do you think Magic Johnson was trying to send
in a message seven.

Speaker 8 (34:06):
I know what Mary's saying right now, you killed my
segment and prepare to die.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Mary respond no comment.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
The only rule not known more than this is never
get involved in a land war in Asia. This if
we were doing this, I would grade this on a curve.

Speaker 8 (34:24):
In Asia, that's a different game we're sitting playing out
in this series.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
You know, Australia is popular entirely by criminals, so I
would put this on a curve. I was grading this
in school because there's a very difficult edition of The
Magic Johnson.

Speaker 6 (34:37):
No, I was well done, though, I thought you did
a good job. This might have been one of your
finer moments.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
But I but I love the fact that now that
Magic tweeted that about game. You know, with the series
tied to to apiece and Game three, a Game five
winner gets an advantage, Like I feel like now I
can really make up stuff and be even more obvious
because he's opened the door to that.

Speaker 8 (34:55):
Oh yeah, who is the twenty year old intern that
actually tweeted that out for him?

Speaker 1 (35:03):
That's what I want to know. If you wouldn't know
what you would think he's has AI do it like
that's what hey.

Speaker 6 (35:09):
Hey, kick me out of tweet in my voice.

Speaker 9 (35:14):
I think AI would would would help them and make
make these tweets better than they are.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Yeah maybe maybe maybe, but that would it would be
the Magic Johnson AI Twitter game, which would be a
whole new thing.

Speaker 6 (35:25):
Maybe he's got his homecoming, his whole other app coming out.
I'm magine Johnson interpreter app.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
If he tweets again, we'll bring you another edition of
the game coming up next hour on the show. But
we got more from the World Series. But straight ahead,

up in a few but it's a big, big question
to ask with Game six Halloween, I mean, really a
lot of sports tonight.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Really sports it up up in here.

Speaker 6 (36:40):
I mean, we got Luca Dodges back on the court,
forty four points regulated, your guy, See what I did there?

Speaker 3 (36:48):
Regulating? We got some we got relegated.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
See if you get there there, Mike Doug, you diceeed
you there were two g's you have, Mike Doug, I
see you today.

Speaker 6 (36:56):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
But we do have basketball on the way too. Big
night in the NBA. Hey, right, got college football the
big signature win of the Bill Belichick ra at North
Carolina against Syracuse. But Sunday, the day after the World Series,
the world is going to stop at one twenty five
pm Pacific time, four to twenty five on the East
Coast because we are getting Chiefs bills from Buffalo. Look

(37:23):
thirty million people are gonna watch this game. It's gonna
be it's it's that big a deal. We have a
pretty good slate on Sunday, but this by far is
the absolute biggest game. The Chiefs have righted their season.
They're now trendy. Hey, I never wavered from the Chiefs
at all when they were I never wavered the Chiefs.
I always said they were gonna be good. Yeah, okay, yes,

(37:45):
the Chiefs are a little bit better. The Chiefs are
also five and three. Okay, let's understand this. This is
the week the Kansas City chief super Bowl train gets
derailed Bills and not how you think the Bills are
going to run all over the Chiefs for four quarters? Right?

(38:07):
For now? I don't mean for good, but for now,
James Cook is the biggest implement in that Bills offense.
As great as Josh Allen is, right, MVP, as great
as he is, he even said this week I have
no problem just turning a hand in the ball to
James Cook. Right, two hundred yard game last week. This
is what they paid him for. He's one of the
best running backs in the NFL. You forget about him sometimes,

(38:30):
but this offense, right now is his and they are
going to feed him the football the entire day. Now,
eventually you'll get back to Josh Allen having to pull
games out a little bit the more he gets in
rapport with his receivers and his tight ends, because it's
still kind of hit and miss. You thought they were
really getting into a groove that Allen was figuring things
out because he doesn't have the stud wide receiver anymore. Depending

(38:53):
how this year goes, maybe the Bills make a change
in that after this year. But right now, Buffalo's been
kind of meandering a little bit so far. This is
where things change. The game they've been looking forward to
on the schedule, you know, has been this one. Sometimes teams,
good teams need those games that are going to lift

(39:14):
you up and get you to that next level. This
is that game for the Chiefs. They've been keeping them
from the super Bowl for the past five years. This
is a situation where I'm not happy about the spread
because for the Chiefs to be favored with the Bills
at home, I'm like, ooh, really the track game. But
I'm gonna ignore that. I'm gonna ignore it, ignore like
it doesn't exist. I love tons of points I love

(39:37):
the over most of all because for some reason it's
fifty two and a half and not ninety two and
a half. But the Bills win this game. Their offense
is terrific, They force a couple of turnovers, the Chiefs
offense a little bit of a derailment. They fall to
five and four. This is the game the Bills have
been looking forward to. They get the w and they
all of a sudden we say, maybe this is the

(39:58):
best team in the af.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Look at you to get on board that.

Speaker 6 (40:01):
And that's the thing I fear though, is that you
don't have that receiver downfield, something we talked about a
bit on the I want to jior flex edition for
this one, because we do have that juicy fifty two
and a half. Biggest spread or biggest point total for
the week is actually the Monday night game. We'll see
how much that changes if it is in fact Brissett
instead of Kyler Murray against the Cowboys. But that's for

(40:23):
another time for this one. You know the Chiefs on
the com. You watch the first two games back with
Rashid Rice. It's been a fantastic connection he and Mahomes
and you're spreading the ball around. No Pacheco this time,
more Kareem Hunt, more Brashad Smith out of the backfield,
so expect to see more of him in the passing
game and the distribution thusly, but they can run the

(40:46):
ball on the Bills, and I think that's where perhaps
they can play a little bit of ground control and
pick their spots downfield.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
I'll take the Chiefs, I'll lay the two plus.

Speaker 6 (40:55):
I think they win going away, but it's a high
scoring game and the Bills have to go back lick
their wounds, and then they'll have about thirty.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Six hours to make a trade to help that wide.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
Hey. You know the funny thing is if that happens,
that's absolutely going to be how the Bills react. They're
absolutely going to say, you know what, we can't just
think that we're gonna get it done throwing the football. Yes,
we have a bunch of bodies in here, but if
it's not going well at this point, absolutely they will
make a trade. Maybe it's Jacoby Myers, maybe it's something else,
but they will absolutely bring a number one wide receiver

(41:28):
if that happens, which I don't think it will because they're
gonna win the game. But if it does, happen. I'm
with you, they go make it dal Yeah.

Speaker 6 (41:33):
Normally people wear signs that say kick me. He's been
wearing one that says trade me for about two months.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
Coming up next week, get back and ask the biggest
question if Game six of the World Series, Fox Sports Radio,
