enough is enough.
Speaker 6 (01:32):
VJ Husky.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
I told him before the show that forty seven years
ago was the release of The White Shadow and he
had no idea what talking. Yeah, our producer thought it
was a strain of marijuana for.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Talk.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
I was going to say, how much is an eighth?
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Do you understand this is one of the most iconic

Right now of it.
Speaker 4 (02:04):

Speaker 6 (02:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:05):
Rob Parker's screaming, he's so happy about it.
Speaker 6 (02:08):
Rob Parker, do all about it. I'll tell you that
he watched.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
We're talking about right now, right.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Here, talking about people in there, all in there, like listen,
I'm not going front.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
I'm a TV buff, I love tea. I've never heard of.
Speaker 6 (02:21):
I've never heard of it. I've never heard of it.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Sorry, Steve, do you know what we're talking about? Steve
knows what we're talking.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
About, the saga, should know about the white everything.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Though, what does he know? That's not fair that I
was about to say, you asked the wrong person.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
That's not fair.
Speaker 6 (02:35):
What do you do you ask?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
That's not fair? You can't ask to say, asks Martin
if Martin was sitting there. I asked Monty. If Monty
was sitting there, you know, not to my I've done
shows that those are my peoples. I love them, but
I'm pretty sure they would look and go.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
Well, the youngsters, I bet you if we put out
a poll, we'd probably get fifty percent of the people
that have heard or seen the white chan.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
I know all of the people over the age of
fifty five one, in their thirties and twenties, and even
in their early forties. Remember and when you sent me
to clip and I looked at that today, I'm like
I'm like, you saw my on you saw.
Speaker 6 (03:10):
That text you back, I'm like, how did you guys it?
Speaker 5 (03:14):
You know, one guy on the team was what one
guy in the name of the team was so lobby
because he was Italian.
Speaker 6 (03:19):
You can't say that nowadays. You getting right, like, oh
my god.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
You.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
Think it's a lunch.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Look me being Ben Patton played that. I'm a guy
that's edgy. I hate I hate PC today I have
because and if you're gonna if you're gonna be funny,
be fun Look if you're all the family, if you're
gonna fend, if you're gonna fend, you're right. If you're
gonna find somebody, at least be funny, right, right, family guy,
they get on everybody. I've been watching Family Got for
(03:47):
twenty years and you're a lot of people that get offended.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
But my mind, love it.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
If it's funny, guys, it's just a joke.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
I just watched Being Eddie on Netflix, you know, me
being like I said, being a stand up comedian. I
I wanted to be a comedian all my life when
I was a kid because of Eddie Murphy and to
watch this stuff that Eddie Murphy used to be able
to stand on the stage. He's the goat of Hollywood.
I keep telling people this, he's the goat of what
Hollywood can't do anymore.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
You can't do that anymore?
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Well, actually I think he could because we're getting a
little no, I think society. I just think we're getting
a little tougher. We went through a soft period, but
I think more people are coming around to Look, word
shittn't what your mom say growing up? Right, sticks and stones, right,
Like word shouldn't bother you man, Like we ain't gotten solved.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
But I think somebody you can't.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
Call somebody so lobby Eddie Barbers their Italian.
Speaker 7 (04:38):
That we're talking about soft and how everyone's soft right now,
Have you guys seen this stuff about Sacramento, the guy
that got kicked.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Out, Yes, I watched it response video.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
I watched, But to say, but at the same time,
that's that's the lead exactly. Look, the last person that
should be getting anybody kicked out of a game is
Zach Levine. Like, dude, you're not even good enough to
get nobody kicked out the game. And I watched the
guy's response number one, very professional, very uh. He showed
his humility, but I apologize, apologized to the security person
(05:08):
that had to walk on. He's a season ticket holder,
so he knows the security. He knows them, and they
don't wear name tags. He's always there. So yeah, but
that once again, that's how that's soft. How are you
mad at somebody for calling you out to play defense
and the quarters forty one thirteen because your guy's just
(05:28):
walking right by you and you.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
Know, you know who the number one Heckler was was
a guy named Robin Ficker Fickler. He used to be
an attorney and he'd go to all the Washington back
then they were the bullet games, and he would get
under people's skins.
Speaker 6 (05:43):
Charles Barkley couldn't stand them. What would he do? He
would read like excerpts of.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Charles Barkley's book, his Auto Biography, and read parts of it.
Oh he was He did everything but quote unquote buy
the book. No obscenities, nothing like that. He really was great.
They did take away his season tickets for a while,
but so many of the athletes.
Speaker 6 (06:05):
Could play they wanted him back. He was really He
became very famous.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
If you look him up Washington, I think it was
Washington Bullets.
Speaker 6 (06:12):
Robin Ficker Fickler, and he was an attorney.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
I don't know if he's even still alive anymore, but
he was like the original Heckler back then.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Well listen, first of all, the best Heckler is Clipper
their r ip Rpy. I had a chance of meeting
the guy sitting next to him at games. At Clipper
games when my nephew Kendall was out here playing freak
car right, great car? Yeah yeah, right, oh, great car,
great suit, great everything, like Clipper. They treated him bad
at the area. So that car he had that was
like a Clipper. It was a Clipper car exactly. I
(06:42):
know exactly what you're talking about. But yeah, they at
one point the security even treated him bad out there.
You know what's not getting treated bad? And when somebody's
gonna get treated b excuse me, I said they're wrong.
Someboy's gonna get treated bad in these rivalry games that
we have said up tomorrow, we have a handful of
them that mean anything. And it just got me to think,
and I want to have a little fun. Tonight's Black
Friday's holiday. You got people ride around and try robberies
always get people going. And Shay, I asked you a
(07:03):
text you earlier, you could throw something down. I got
ten of them down, not really any order. Maybe I
got a top five. But Arenie, I'll let you go first.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Man.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Your fans on Twitter want to hear you talk tonight.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Uh, so let's let's go to Uh just give me
three or four? Are your favorite sports? Are you think
that they're like four of the best sports rivalries in
all of space?
Speaker 5 (07:24):
I want you to know something before we start. Out
of all these rivalries, I don't think there's too many
left ever since we've changed the conferences, even though there's
some I haven't in professional sports, huh. But ever since
we changed the conferences, we've lost so many, so many
of the robberies. I mean, I didn't even put that,
like Oklahoma and Nebraska, which you know how big that
was back in the Big Eight before my good health.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
Being back in the Big Eight, that was eumongous.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
We would watch Okahoma Nebraska if both teams were all
and ten, just for the pageant of it all. So,
you know, I don't know if there's too many valies
left that if both teams were zero and ten, if
I wasn't a fan of that, I'd say, well, I
got to see this game as I just didn't well
give Yankee's Yankee's Red Sox I still think is number one.
Speaker 6 (08:12):
I still think that's number one.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
Well, yeah, because it has to do with the city
of New York, Boston die hard fans there. If I
could put Philadelphia, and I would, But to me, the
Yankees and the Red Sox, especially for everything they've been through.
To me, that's part of the rivalry also, and they're
both so you know, obviously most of the time they're
(08:34):
going to make the playoffs. So Yankee's Red Sox to me,
and because of the fans, they're number one. Michigan Ohio State,
I still have to put them in number two. People
care about it. It's a big deal. The winner goes
to the playoffs most of the time. It's called the
game for a reason, right, And well, I'm not worried
about the title they put on it, though, I just
(08:56):
you know, I think people around the country care more
about that game than any other college football game out there.
And my third one is Duke North Carolina. That's the
college basketball one. Though I really don't think that people
care as much anymore about that one like they used
to be but that's still the premier one in college basketball.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah, now you're wrong about that one. I'm attached to
that program right after you played it. Know, Duke Carolina
is still war it's still hatred, it still matters, and
it's the biggest college basketball rivalry. There's not a college
basketball rivalry bigger than Duke, you know, a big one
because people still care about it.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
The kids camp out for like what months to get
good seats for that kid exactly.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
And in quick story, I walked through coach Kville one
year going to see Carolina play Duke at Cameron on
Duke's senior night. Is the year Kendall's sophomore year, So Zeller, Harrison, Barnes,
John Henson were all sophomores. Tyler Zeller was the only
senior on that team and wanted to walk right through
(09:57):
coach Cavill to get to the to the entrance the
arena to get into the game.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
And it was a really cool experience, even though I
was an enemy.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
Just to walk through all these kids who have been
laying out here for days half from drunk as hell.
Ain't nobody's got a shirt on like bloodshot red eyes.
Speaker 6 (10:15):
Ever, pretty where it's gotta be tough to me camping
out like that.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
It's gonna be. Yeah, it was just a cool experience.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
I why we're gonna make a thing out of all
the rivalries we have. You won't have the number one
rivalry in all of sports.
Speaker 6 (10:27):
You won't have it on your list.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
Actually, do Shaye what you got man, give us some robbery.
Speaker 6 (10:31):
Go ahead.
Speaker 7 (10:32):
Obviously these are gonna be the ones I were thinking
are a little close to my heart. Well, right now
there's a fight on the field in one of the rivalries.
It's gonna be U of a ors or a state
currently happening. Sun Devils Go Devils, We love it. I
was obviously I went to Asu and Ar and we
went to UFA, so this is a little close to
home there. I'm a Browns fan, so no real rivalries
(10:53):
there for me. I mean, yeah, you could say the Steelers,
but Ben Roethlisberg are kind of the city versus.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
The older Yeah, the base here, the Rota city versus
the owner.
Speaker 7 (11:03):
Obviously there's Lakers Celtics, but like that's the most obvious
thing that you talk about. And I'm gonna go a
little different, and I was gonna more talk Okay, last year,
I feel like this is gonna kind of start, and
I think last year was the start of it, and
it's going to be in the Olympics, and it's going
to be it's a little different in volleyball, Frances Why
(11:29):
did you.
Speaker 6 (11:29):
Ask him this?
Speaker 8 (11:31):
The US?
Speaker 4 (11:31):
I'm gonna keep going though.
Speaker 7 (11:32):
I got more, I got more US and this is
just one that you guys didn't have. But it's something
that's becoming huge and it's it's a pretty big deal
right now. Good, but it's this is something that I
actually see that in basketball, the US versus Slovania turning
into something right now?
Speaker 3 (11:50):
Yes, now you to say US versus Lithuania from the
seventies and eighties, you know right now, No.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Reaj, he's something. Actually, that was the one thing I
was going to tell you. Remember what I just said,
you won't have the one rivalry, the number one rivalry
to be in all sports is USA and Russia back.
But what happened in basketball, what happened in hockey?
Speaker 3 (12:08):
And that's okay, even we're talking at any moment, even
what happened yeah, okay, now.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
We're tiring right now.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Only okay, okay, I mean even even aren't he in politics?
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Right?
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Like even yeah, I know the USA, So that would
be the number one the greatest boxing movie ever, right,
like the greatest boxing movie ever.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Rocky four? When and why? Why?
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Why is it Rocky Ivan Drago USA versus Russia? Like
you have you know, do you believe in miracles? Al
Michael's calling that And that wasn't even for the gold medal.
That was the semi final game. A lot of people
think that's the gold No, it's not the gold medal game.
That was the semi finals.
Speaker 6 (12:45):
And the basketball was just a travesty.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
You're talking Doug Collins.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Uh, yeah, we're talking about when they three inbound passes
to we wouldn't accept the silver medal. There's a lot
of people from team that have left their civil medal
in safety deposit boxes and are told never to be
picked up by their loved ones at all.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Do you remember when USA one, I want to say
in oh eight, I believe it was in Beijing, How
Kobe led all the guys over to Doug Collins who
was calling the game and kind of like, you know,
because Doug was on that team and that was one
of his biggest things of his career.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Was the way ever lost that gold medal.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
I said, we should have put every one of them
on one team from here on out so they can
win the gold medal. Put him at the end of
the bench because we're putting, because we're putting. What college kid? Anyway,
what the bench?
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Let's get them, starting with Christian Laner back in the
night the Barcelona, in the Barcelona against. I got a
few interesting ones that you guys haven't mentioned. Yeah, and
I got a one international one. Once I say, you guys,
are no Barcelona versus Real Madrid? Yeah, exactly, I haven't
even thought exactly. Come on, man, I go deep, baby,
this is this is this, ain't this, ain't snorting. This
is Barcelona. And I mean even if you want to
(13:58):
keep it with football too, uh, you can go Chelsea
and Manchester United.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
There's another.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
There's another one for you, but also one that you
guys I know is not on your list.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Ali versus Fraser.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
Okay, so we can do it.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
I got one for you any sport, any time.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
What you got John Jones, Daniel Cormier Okay, turn off
his mic?
Speaker 6 (14:17):
Please are we serious?
Speaker 4 (14:19):
How are you again?
Speaker 3 (14:21):
He gives you Ali Fraser and that's what I gave it, Fraser,
it's an individual sports.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Should have said Tyson holy Field before you said that one.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
That's not as big are you? Are you Tyson holy Field? No,
it's big.
Speaker 7 (14:32):
But I'm just saying in terms of how many times
these guys holy Field, how many times did they go again?
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Three? They fall three? Three times? Yeah, holy Field.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Knocked him out the first time, Tyson one and his remattioned,
bit his air, and then of the third time the
only Field beat him again.
Speaker 6 (14:46):
Okay, I didn't know that three times.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Yeah, you and I are going to be rivals, Shae
if you kick we already are.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Holy Phiel and Briddick bow they fought three. I don't
know that heavyweight fights. Neither guy knocked each other down
for three fights, all decision heavyweight fights.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
When guys didn't run and worry about getting it.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
They stood in the middle of the ring and they
threw big shot after big shot and tried to knock
each other's head off. I would have thrown those ones
out there too. I'm with you, guys on Laker or Celtics.
Neither one of you guys are gonna mention Army versus
Navy college.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
I had that on my Okay, they get.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
A Saturday to themselves. It's for the commander in chief
service trophe. Are you gonna the president shows up every year? Guys?
Speaker 6 (15:24):
Are you gonna put U C a USC on your list?
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Or is that just too regional for well, I'll be
there's too regional, but I'll be there tomorrow covering in
the game. But Bama Bama Auburn Rburn that's regional. No,
but that's still yeah, that's regional. But that's still that.
That would make my team, that would make that would
make my that would make my top ten. Duke Carolina,
I threw a funny one here, Arnie. You'll feel me shade.
This is gonna go over your head, Alex I might
(15:47):
get some rise out of me. Eddie Murphy versus Bill Cosby.
There's another one that goes back.
Speaker 6 (15:52):
For Harvard Yale. Do you do that one of those
that not.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
If you're gonna do regular ones sports to the number
one rivalries Betty or Betty and Veronica.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
You know that's from the Archies, right you know that?
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (16:07):
That one?
Speaker 4 (16:08):
I do know why?
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Actually I made sure I text you throw a fun
one in there, man, because there are.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
Some like Batman and Jokers, real rivalries.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
No no sports sports in one fun one just one
fun one, gave one, gave you a fun one of fun.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
Didn't even do while the Coyote about the road Runner,
what about that?
Speaker 3 (16:25):
You're talking about cutting Shad's mike and you're talking about cartoons.
Speaker 6 (16:28):
That's a good one. That's the best Tom and Jerry yet.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Number one sports rivalry of all time though, in my
opinion is Michigan and Ohio State. They're number one. They're
they're they're number one, and and it really it just
goes through. You have to just really know the history.
Most people that talk these rivalries they don't know history,
so therefore they just go off like what they've heard and.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
What they've seen.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
As far as recent years, people have to remember both Shinbeckler,
his first ever coaching assistant job was where at Ohio State.
He's an Ohio guy. That's why he was able to
cruit very well from Ohio. Two of Michigan's Heisman Trophy winners.
Do you guys know what state they're from?
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Ohio?
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Well, Dennie Howard's from Cleveland and Charles Woodson from Fremont.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
What about Michigan State fans. They're saying Michigan State Michigan
is the best.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
Rivalry, and that's a rivalry.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Call them little brothers, so I know that, right, Okay,
But they think that's a rivalry.
Speaker 6 (17:20):
I'm just normally little Texas. First of all.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Normally, normally little brothers do think that there's robberies that's
not there. Who has a better basketball team I would
put up as far as what Michigan Michigan State. Yeah,
well Michigan's had played great, not just this year if
you go back to the fab but.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Magic Johnson is O won a championship.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Uh yeah, but football, And I'm breaking it down so
where like I'm not talking Army Navy and water Polo,
I'm talking Army Knight football, Michigan Ohio State football, not basketball.
Another one out there too, the Red River Ribery, I
guess shootout whatever you want to call it. Now Texas
and Oklahom. That's another big one that I think has
gotten lost for some reason. But it's still a huge
(18:05):
game when you talk to those two fan bases and
you talk to most people that cover college football.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
That's another big one out there. U C L a USC.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Like I said, I'll be at the game, covering the
game tomorrow. That's another that's gonna be fun. How about
the Civil War Oregon Oregon State? Yeah, that thing gets heated. Man,
it's always a really regional other than Michigan. Listen, all
college robberies are original regional. Excuse me, except in my opinion,
do Carolina, Michigan, Ohio State. I think the nation care
(18:32):
like it leads highlights, like.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
It leads sports center. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Those are Army Navy, Like you said that Army Navies well,
of course is national to military service academies.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
So I think those are like the biggest ones.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Uh, Baseball, I wrote down Yankees, Red Sox, but I
don't know baseball. It's just one of those sports where
I don't want to I never say it's dying. I
try to stay away from that. It's just it's it's
I think arrogance have lost interests over about a fifteen
to twenty year span, and then it started to pick
back up about four or five years ago. Then the
rule changes, the pitch clock, the bigger bases and not
(19:10):
being able to throw over the first base more than
two times. I think that did bring some fans back
because they try to be really innovated about it. Yeah,
and I think they did bring some fans back. But
I based Yankees Red Sox. I'll be honest with you,
I didn't watch. I haven't watched the Yankees Red Sox
game in five years.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
You know we don't.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
I haven't watched the Yankees Red Sox game. I haven't
watched the yank when's the last Yankees Red Sox game.
You guys sat down and watched all nine innings of it.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
Well, I'm not watching a lot of nine innings anyway,
except for maybe the Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
We didn't bring up the Dodgers too. No Dodgers Giants.
But once again, unless you live in La, how many
Dodgers Giants games have you made sure to sit down
Dodger and watch a full nine innings. You don't get
up in the fourth quarter of the Ohios date Michigan game.
Unless it's a law. You don't leave the iron Bowl
and run to the store to get milk and eggs
(20:02):
in the fourth quarter, third quarter. If it's the club,
you don't do that. But you you missed some of
these baseball robberies in these baseball games because it's just.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
There's one hundred and sixty two of them. That's why.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
But the rivalries they only play, you know, you know,
maybe eight or nine times, doing well.
Speaker 6 (20:17):
The Red six played sixteen times?
Speaker 4 (20:19):
Do they play? Is it sixteen times?
Speaker 6 (20:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (20:21):
See that's yeah. But that's the one.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
But once again, I haven't watched a Yankees Red souce game, man,
and honestly five years it when you're talking about some
of these other robberies don't matter, I'm not sure that
one matters.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
Man.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
We'll take a quick break when we come out, Artie
and I, we want to dive in specifically to some
of these rivalry games. Will give you guys some news
and notes on them, and then we're gonna pick them
all to see who's gonna come out on the top.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
Big ones.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Vandy and Tennessee. Vanny just gave their coaching intentionally. You
got Virginia Tech and UVA. You got the iron ball,
you got the game. It is loaded tomorrow rivalry game
the college football setting up for conference championship games and
the playoff seedings, which we're gonna have on December seventh.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
When they come, he lets us know who are the
twelve they get in.

And before we move on to some of these robbery
games and give you guys some predictions and how we
(22:35):
see these things playing out and update this zona. And
as right there, you sound like my daughter Journey. When
she doesn't get something, she runs. My four year old
does this thing when she asks, like, you know, daddy
can have some juice on nine, No more juice?
Speaker 4 (22:49):
You got some water?
Speaker 3 (22:49):
She goes like, she runs, walks away, and I tell hey,
so i'd have to like a barbarian or viking around
my house. Okay, I did drink some water. It's too
late for juice. But coming up right now, we got
Steve the Saga best in the business. Steve, what's going
on a lot.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
We're going out.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
Now, Steve, who's getting shut out?
Speaker 8 (23:11):
Arizona cannot be stopped? Legs and gentlemen, Wow.
Speaker 6 (23:16):
They were down?
Speaker 8 (23:17):
Yes, it doesn't matter anymore. Twenty three seven the lead
at Arizona State in this top twenty five college football matchup,
Arizona Wildcats were trailing seven to nothing late in the
first half. Everything else tonight is a final, including a
Texas A and M loss, which is great news for Georgia,
which won earlier today at Texas. At Georgia Tech, it
(23:38):
was sixteen to nine. The Texas Longhorns beat A and
M twenty seven to seventeen, so that clinches a berth
for Georgia in the SEC title game. Road wins for Indiana, Ole,
Miss and Utah. In the NFL, the Chicago Bears dominated
at Philadelphia twenty four to fifteen to the NBA. Among
the eleven games still going in LA, Lakers, with three
(24:00):
and a half minutes to go, lead Dallas one twenty
two to one, thirteen thirty eight points for Austin Reeves,
thirty three for ex Maverick Luka donsig Anthony Davis has
returned for the MAVs after missing a month due to injury.
Twelve points for him in twenty six minutes on the court.
The other late game is a final in La at
the Clippers Arena. Memphis beat the Clips one twelve to
(24:22):
one oh seven. Oklahoma City is nineteen and one. It
won it's eleventh straight game. Edging Phoenix won twenty three
to one nineteen Shay giljis Alexander thirty seven points. San
Antonio won at Denver one thirty nine, one thirty six
despite thirty seven from Jamal Murray. Spurs record now thirteen
and five. Denver falls to thirteen and five Atlanta bea.
(24:44):
Cleveland won thirty to one twenty three despite forty two
points from the Caves Donovan Mitchell. Orlando won at Detroit
won twelve one oh nine thirty seven points for Desmond Bane.
The Pistons record was fifteen and three coming in tonight.
Cad Cunningham at a triple double and also eight turnovers.
Philadelphia and New York each one. Indiana was hosting Washington.
(25:06):
Washington's two and sixteen now Pacers were two and sixteen.
They won this game one nineteen eighty six, and Charlotte
ended a seven game losing streak one twenty three to
one sixteen over Chicago. Two notable men's college basketball games.
Number five, Connecticut won its contest at Madison Square Garden
over thirteenth ranked Illinois seventy four to sixty one, ninth
(25:27):
rank BYU A winner tonight against Dayton eighty three seventy nine,
and the NHL Dallas four to three over Utah. Victories
for New Jersey and the Rangers. Wins for Tampa Bay
and for Carolina, which beat Winnipeg five to one. And
in the college football Lake Game, we're down under a
minute and a half to go, Arizona Wildcats leading at
(25:49):
Arizona State twenty three to seven.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
And by the way, breaking news. I just got a
text from Resin who just said it is over. So
all my fret brothers are watching the game, So there
you go.
Speaker 8 (26:00):
I believe that it's proper to call a game with
a minute to go up twenty three to.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
Seven, right, let's go.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
Thank you. We should be going to the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
They should take thirteen teams twelve and US one team
that gets ripped off by the refs every year, and
that's us.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
We should be going.
Speaker 8 (26:16):
Not even the White Shadow could bring his team back
from twenty to seven for a minute to.
Speaker 6 (26:22):
Go white Shit. I love it.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Oh, I do remember the show. I remember the eighties.
It was the night show. It was like the school
basketball coach.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Got you, but help us out here. He's calling it iconic.
Yeah it is, he exaggerats. I don't know the show, sol.
Speaker 8 (26:40):
There are only so many. It's kind of a sitcom,
an hour long. It wasn't a sitcom like on stage
with a laugh track like that.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
It was an hour long show.
Speaker 8 (26:49):
It couldn't be humorous mcguiver okay, but it was an
hour long show that couldn't be humorous without the coach,
you know, dismantling bombs and then coach.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
The coach played for the Chicago Bulls, hurt his leg
and then he couldn't play in the NBA anymore. Coach,
so he coached high school because he was friends with
the principal.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
That was the premise of the of the show.
Speaker 5 (27:11):
Funny thing about that, two guys on our basketball team
but in high school would always play on the other
team because they were actors and they would get paid
to do.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
That, So they would do that.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Yeah, they did.
Speaker 8 (27:21):
Had They did wind up having games in episodes and
would fill that filmed those in gyms. I do remember
once there was an episode where the guys thought they
knew where Magic Johnson lived, so they went to the
house and actually knocked on the front door and it
was the wrong house. So the guy answered and said, yeah,
Magic Johnson, what magic?
Speaker 6 (27:41):
We want to see magic?
Speaker 8 (27:42):
And the guy at the door says, you want to
see magic, watch me disappear, and.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
That's good. So this was the eighties, Yes, yeah, this was.
Speaker 6 (27:53):
It was a very popular show.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
Aback there.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
Yeah, you know what I hear you guys? Can you
keep I just listen. I gotta go to say. The
man is almost never wrong.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
But I just think you're over selling it, Arnie.
Speaker 6 (28:04):
Just people know if you're old, you know what, that's
for sure.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
I appreciate you, Steve, good stuff, buddy.
Speaker 9 (28:12):
That's so.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Yeah, Okay, I can get with that though. That's that's
why I sound about some seventies funk right there.
Speaker 6 (28:20):
That it's what the what thigure?
Speaker 5 (28:22):
Everybody that was on the team, no one could play
ball except for one tall guy who was like six
six six seven. His name was Coolidge. He was the
only one that was good enough to play basketball. Everybody
else suck.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
Yeah, so white.
Speaker 6 (28:33):
You know he was though he was he was black,
he was he was was.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
Oh wow the coach show call white shadow and the
only guy on the team.
Speaker 6 (28:40):
That could play.
Speaker 8 (28:44):
Yeah, Wildcats win. It's a twenty three seven final issue.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
There you go, championship's yeah right, yeah, dude, a little
the little the little small cats.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
I hit that. There you go, hit that, man, j
already span in for Jason Smith. That is the best friend.
Speaker 3 (29:01):

Speaker 4 (29:37):
So you know what already, I'm gonna throw this to.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
You, man.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
A lot of rivalry games tomorrow. Give me the first one.
You're looking most forward to and give me your prediction,
and why, well, there's no.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
Doubt that it's going to be Michigan, Ohio State. You
know what's amazing about this is I heard a lot
of people talking about this.
Speaker 6 (29:55):
I'm listening to.
Speaker 5 (29:56):
You and Dave Portnoy and a lot of the Michigan fans.
I mean, my goodness, and I thought Ashu and u
of A had a lot of hatred. There's more hatred
in Ohio State Michigan than any other rivalry I think
I've I've seen out there. Maybe Auburn Alabama may rival that.
I'm not sure, but really, people take it personal. I
(30:18):
love it. That's why we added in our in our
top three. I don't think Michigan's good enough. But every
time I say that, Sobow, not only do they.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
Get you said last year, yeah Friday.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
They win the game. Not only do they keep it close,
they win the game.
Speaker 5 (30:32):
VJ wins the last time because important only just gives
it in days.
Speaker 6 (30:37):
When when's the last time?
Speaker 4 (30:39):
I think it's twelve?
Speaker 6 (30:41):
I mean, what year, give me a year.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
It's been four years in a row.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
Okay, so four years.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
Yeah, tomorrow's about to be five.
Speaker 6 (30:46):
Ohio State's the much better team, not a little bit.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
I think they're actually the much better team.
Speaker 6 (30:53):
But Michigan is a good team and they're playing at home.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Whick sidebar, that little ass tea pot y'all running around with?
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Is that all played for in this game against Arizona State?
Speaker 6 (31:02):
The territorial?
Speaker 4 (31:03):
Come that right there?
Speaker 6 (31:04):
I don't have it on TV. I don't see what
they are if.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
This thing, Steve, I know you see it?
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Is this?
Speaker 4 (31:08):
That what they play for? That little that my daughter
eats cereal out of something that small? What the hell
is that your rivalry game trophy right there?
Speaker 6 (31:16):
I have to look, that's pathetic.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
Played a little cat sound again, because that's what in
the dude, Look they can't look that's your trophy.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
You guys play for? Get out of here.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
Oh my goodness, gracious, that's almost as bad as the
little brown jug And that's a Michigan Minnesota thing. But
I just think they need to be bigger. I hate
that little brown jug man, But I don't know.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
I'm sorry. That just caught my eye.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
I'm looking at the game. You guys are passing it
around like vikings on a ship, sipping rum out of it.
The next guy holds it and there are holds it
in the air, and then he hands it to the
next guy.
Speaker 6 (31:52):
When you get about the trophy VJA, when you can
hold the.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Rivalry Game trophy with one hand, the Rivaly Game trophy
is too damn small.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Continue about the game for tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (32:03):
Yeah, look, I like I said, I think Ohio State
is the much better team, but somehow they get so
conservative when they play Michigan. I wonder if the Michigan
defense is going to be good enough to keep.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
Ohio State and check.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
I don't think so. I think Ohio State wins it
by more than nine and a half. But every time
I say that, Michigan ends up winning. So you figure
it out, you know.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
So you got the you got the school down south
beating Michigan, and you got them covering a nine and
a half.
Speaker 6 (32:33):
Yeah, I think they'll cover the nine.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
I was about to say twenty three and a half.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
I'm gonna go over because in ribberies like this, I
like to go over. Except that happen in the Arizona
Arizona State game. I always think there's like major turnovers
or crazy wonky things happen, and you know, you get
the cheap touchdown.
Speaker 6 (32:53):
So I like to go and over in a game
like that, got a.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
Score, I'm gonna say, like thirty twenty about twenty seven, twenty.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Four, twenty seven twenty four, where that's not Ohio State
covering the coverage, that's cover.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
I'm a gonna say, you got it.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
So because listen, ten point win is is a good beat,
like you, because at any point in the game, you
probably could have been a fourteen twenty one points. You
have a team gets a late garbageys. I'm gonna tell
you the same thing I told you last year when
we did this show in this spot with this type
of game coming up, where Michigan definitely had a worst
team last year. Sharon Moore was in his first year
as the head coach. He filled in for Harball doing
(33:31):
some suspensions the year before, but last year was his
first ride. And they go into the Horseshoe and they
beat him thirteen to ten. Their kicker misses a thirty
seven and a thirty eight yard field goal. That's called pressure.
Pressure bus pipes. There's no pressure on Michigan tomorrow. There's
no pressure on Michigan. I saw people tweeting a week
and a half two weeks ago. I'm not sure if
Sharon Moore's the guy really youngest team in the Big Ten.
(33:54):
He actually went and beat Ohio State last year in
the horse shoot.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
A team that ended up winning.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
They were championships.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Twelve games though, well well the whole Well, of course
they're gonna not say it then, but now it's like
there's these question marks about them. And you talk about
playing scared. It's not playing scared, it's being out coach
conservatives a conservative. I don't think players play conservative. I
think coaches get out coach right. I've never met I
played the sport. I never went on the field game
(34:21):
played concerned. Because you play conservative, you're gonna get hurt.
It's football. This ain't basketball. This ain't throwing conservative pitches.
And you know in baseball, are being conservative in a
golf tournament where you you want to lay up instead
of trying to go for the great No, And football
you better be balls at the wall every play, every down,
every minute, especially in a rivaly game. Are you're gonna
get You're gonna limp or get carried to the side.
Speaker 6 (34:43):
You should coach differently just because it's a rivalry game.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
I don't think you should. You do what you do.
Speaker 6 (34:48):
You do what you exactly.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
You don't say, okay it's fourth and five, usually will
pun But because it's a rivalry game, we're gonna.
Speaker 6 (34:54):
Go for it now.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Yeah, but you know, but but you gotta be built
a certain way. And the point that I'm making is
you notice that player I'm talking about coaching tomorrow. They
mentioned a player, Ohio, We are know how all the
players are, and we've talked Bryce. So we've talked all
these players to nauseum. Okay, Sharon Moore will out coach
Ryan Day, and that's how Michigan's gonna pull this off again.
(35:15):
You know, like, No, I don't think he's a good coach.
I think I don't think I don't think he's a
great coach. I think he's a good coach. I don't
think he's a great coach. I don't think he's an
exceptional coach. No, I don't, absolutely not. I don't it
shows in the moves that he makes. You talked about
coaching differently. You know Sharon War's gonna do tomorrow. You
know what mission is gonna do in the home crowd
with some co inclement weather, They're gonna run the football.
(35:38):
They're not gonna throw it around. They're not putting this
game in Bryce Underwood's hands. Tomorrow not gonna happen. They're
gonna run the football. They have four to one hundred
yard game rusher, different different guys. Now, Justine Hayes is
doing it every week. He gets hurt. Jordan Marshall was
doing it every week. They plugging the next two guys.
Bro They've plugged in the next two guys and they
(35:59):
go four hundred. It's what they do. Michigan Cheron Moore
is a coach that coaches his team in the best
ability and puts him in the best situations to do
what they are Ryan Day, and I told you this
last night, Ryan Day. He has Ohio State playing a
little too pretty and not enough gritty for me. I'll
(36:20):
let you know we were up against the clobb. When
we come back, we'll spend this. We're not done with this.
We'll spin this right back around and I'll let you answer.
And wiscons Sager too coming up there exactly. Well, we
also have that segment also too, So we get this
on the top of the hour. It doesn't matter. We're
not done talking rivaly. That's gonna be the rest of
the show for the rest of the night because the
great stuff. But yes, we have your disagre segment. I've
never heard it. I don't know what's going on. I
was told about it. I'm gonna sit back and let
(36:42):
you guys have fun with an Arnie Spayer.
Speaker 6 (36:44):
VJ.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
Vernon Husky in for Jason Smith and Mike Harmon Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, The Jason Smith Show.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
With his best friend Mike Harmon, with VJ. Vernon Husky
filling in with Arnie Spaniard. You're coming to you live
from Fox Sports Radio Studios. And now it's toime for
the segment that sweep in the nation, the the segerment.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
What you got for Stey.
Speaker 8 (37:08):
I'm not sure it's sweeping the nation, but it's a
good chance to talk about college football because the Cowboys Stadium,
for example, is going to be hosting college Football's Big
Twelve Championship game a week from Saturday. Regular season ends tomorrow, people,
except for the Army Navy game, of course, but Texas
Tech gets in if it wins its finale as expected Saturday,
(37:28):
and number eleven BYU gets in with a win in
its finale. Texas Tech already destroyed by You Had to
Head about three weeks ago twenty nine to seven. In
the big picture, Texas Tech is ranked number five in
the country. Only the teams that finish in the top
four in the final Playoff Committee rankings a week from
Sunday get a first round by well number three rank
(37:49):
Texas A and M suffered its first defeat of the
season tonight. Going into this weekend, Texas Tech would have
been opening a playoff hosting a first rounder against Tulane,
the best of the smaller ofference teams. North Texas, by
the way, not that far from the Cowboys Stadium, just
finished eleven and one. Today it would be facing Tulane
and there comments watch yeah, and their.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
Coach is leaving.
Speaker 8 (38:11):
He's leaving North Texas for the Oklahoma State job after
this season. Morris was Patrick Mahomes offensive coordinator at Texas
Tech about a decade ago, and will Lane Kiffin be
leaving Mississippi one at Mississippi State, And Kiffin's going to
decide tomorrow if he's taking the LSU ual.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
Pro Football Talk just put out a bogus report it
saying we're not saying he's leaving, but we are saying
that he's lining up his staff for to go to LSU. Well,
how could you report one and we're not but we're
not saying he's leaving, not leading the why he's lining
up a staff to go to LSU for different t
What kind of stupidity is that?
Speaker 6 (38:47):
That's for clickbait. I really hate that, I really do.
That's horrible.
Speaker 8 (38:50):
Over in the ACC, SMU will be in the championship
game with a victory this weekend, and Virginia will be
also with a victory on Saturday. Number twelve rank Miami
will likely not be in the ACC title game because
they've lost two conference games this season, including at SMU
in overtime, So keep in mind for the twelve team
playoffs that starts next month, the five highest rank conference
(39:12):
champions will automatically make the field. Miami will likely not
be the ACC's champion. The SEC championship game could have
had Alabama against number three ranked Texas A and M,
which was eleven and zero, although first Aggie's had to
finish the regular season at Texas tonight and lost to
the Longhorns twenty seven seventeen. So what the Aggies lost,
(39:33):
Georgia gets in Instead. Georgia beat rival Georgia Tech during
the day, and the Big Ten title game is expected
to have number one Ohio State against number two Indiana,
which won tonight. That game will be in Indianapolis. But first,
the Buck Guys play this Saturday at number fifteen Michigan.
And Ohio State's lost to the Wolverines four straight years,
and the Buck Guys had been ranked number two in
(39:53):
the country for each of those games. By the way,
as I mentioned Texas Tech, I must say before I go,
I must mention, of course, who's the most famous Texas
Tech alum in the NFL. It's Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs quarterback.
There was one incredible game that Mahomes had in college.
He played three years at Texas Tech.
Speaker 6 (40:11):
They both both quarterbacks did, right.
Speaker 8 (40:12):
Is that the way Baker Mayfield in Oklahoma in twenty
sixteen beating the Ray Raiders and Patrick Mahomes sixty six
fifty nine in a sixty minute game. There were seventy
eight first.
Speaker 5 (40:24):
Downs, both over five hundred yards passing Yes.
Speaker 6 (40:27):
Yes.
Speaker 8 (40:28):
In fact, Baker Mayfield, who won the Heisman the following season,
had seven touchdown passes and almost five hundred fifty yards
through the year, Mahomes threw for a record tying seven
hundred and thirty four yards. He was fifty two for
eighty eight passing against the Sooners, five touchdowns and only
one interception, and eighty five yards rushing. And earlier in
(40:50):
that same year, Texas Tech lost a sixty eight fifty
five game at Arizona State.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
And that's what I love about the segment.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
