Gift Smith Holiday Holiday, Holiday, Holiday Holiday. We are getting
an absolute holiday gift tonight because we have two teams
that everybody's interested in that score a lot of points.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
On Thursday, Night football.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Twenty to nine. At halftime over under was fifty four
and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Let's go. Wow, you're shouting, you're so excited. Did you
bet the over? You sound like you bet the over.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
It's a Thursday game that has me No, I know
it on Thanksgiving where you're waiting on a trough of
food and beverage.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
No, it's but you went right to the score in
the over. I think you got I think I think
your kid's college careers might be predicated on the outcome
of this game. What' you call the parlay? I know
we talked about that if you got into any college,
we'd pay for it wherever you went to. But I
want to tell you something, Dan Campbell went conservative in
(01:50):
the second half, and that's why you're not going to college.
Just so you know, you are all set to go,
but all of a sudden, Oh, we got to give
the ball to David Montgomery for three yards to carry.
So you want to know why you're not going to college.
It's not because I bet on it and I wasted
and fritted it all away. You blame Dan Campbell for
that Thursday night game. Look, I had it pegged right,
(02:11):
It's not my fault. They didn't perform. I had it.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
I don't know to tell you I had it. Candy
capped the whole way, perfect sense. And David Montgomery for
what you uh, for what you know, mister smart guy
had that big play.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
For a U.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah. For I think the longest carries thirty seven yards,
thirty five yard touched him, the longest run of his
life that he had. You know, it's funny because we
had him on air and then he hated you. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I think its not I think the lines are like
five hundred since we've had David Montgomery on the ship.
It's like a lot of coaches. Yeah, you're number one
in the land, not anymore. But you know, the funny
(02:46):
thing is when when if you to understand the gambler's
mentality right, to get that the people who are so
into gambling, it's difficult. It's difficult to explain how people
can get so wrapped up in it, how people can
can go from I don't really know what gambling is
to you know a few months later, all of a
(03:07):
sudden they're in that. We're in the visors and everything else.
There's a segment of the Goldfinch by Donna Tart one
of the greatest books I've I've read, probably top ten
book I've read in my life. The movie came out
a couple of years ago. Jeffrey Owens was in it.
Not quite as good as the book. Again, it's one
of those big, sprawling adventures, and the book, you know,
(03:27):
you get this. It's's one of those books where you
get the story for the first like couple under pages,
it's really good, and then all of a sudden there's
a left turn and you get another story for like
a middle three hundred pages, and you're like, what's this story?
I want the old story. And then in the middle
you're like, oh, no, no, stay with this story. I like
this one. And one of the characters, Dads, is a
big gambler, and I've never read anything that so got
(03:49):
into the psyche of how someone becomes that person. Then
when I read the dad talking about the highs and
the lows and how he got it and what just
explaining to you is to his kid, this is how
it happens. And because this kid kind of knew his
dad was a gambler and that's how we made a living.
Like he was a professional gambler. Like how he made
a living and how dangerous it is to you know,
make a living as a professional gambler. But it was
(04:10):
it was just so it was so easy. Oh, now
you understand the psychology behind that. So I kind of
understand the psychology between you know, you opening the microphone
and getting really loud and chesty about the over in
the first half of this game.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
No, Well, because we have all these different outcomes and
we try to bring everybody together in a big hug,
right our global audience here through the four hundred plus
affiliates and the iHeartRadio app, where you know, every play
just means that much more. We magnify it because we're
in the home stretch of the fantasy seasons, so that's
hanging in the balance as well. You've got a couple
(04:46):
of teams here that have great a great number of
weapons that you would be deploying for fantasy purposes, but
also just general football notes.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
As you started the show was here's two teams that
are fighting for the playoffs, one of which was left
for dead off of a trade they made right as
the season started, the Dallas Cowboys. But Dak Prescott has
been fantastic, So it's This is the big testing grounds
right with the Lions, and they're banged up secondary, but
(05:17):
all the luminaries there does the Dan Campbell school of
hard knocks still work? Now? The Dallas Cowboys to get
to this game now, Yeah, letting me down so far
in a large way, huge way. I picked them last
night and and I had to dodge text messages from
my wife's family today because I got a couple. You
(05:38):
picked the Cowboys to win, Yeah, I picked the Cowboys
to win. Letting me down, absolutely, letting me down, letting
me doshing your soul right now, Dak Prescott just got
picked off on a on a you know, it was
a bad pass to throw. It was a big deflection.
Was one of those short in route passes where the
dB is able to arrive at the wide receiver the
same time the ball bounces up in the air. The
(06:00):
deflection is picked off by the Lions, and a couple
of plays later it's Isaac Tesla in the end zone
for a touchdown. So it is now a twenty seven
to nine Lions lead over the Dallas Cowboys, not even
a minute gone by. In the third quarter, he added
another seven points towards your over total within a minute. Look, O,
(06:22):
can't believe you didn't yell and screen when that happened.
Oh the over, Oh the overs coming now No, No,
I'm a broadcast professional, like I expect you now at
this point, knowing you for so long to have T
shirts that you were every day and depending on what
you have on the game, your T shirt that just
says over or under and you pick your T shirt
(06:43):
that's actually not a bad Idea's got the under? I
know you can color code those sell us. But yeah,
interesting game thus far.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
A couple of for the Cowboys, settling for three field goals,
some curious play calling in the first half, a lot
more for the run game than I would have expected,
given the fact that there's you can't name any of
the guys in the secondary for the Lions, and they
they're banged up coming in uh and they've had more
guys lost due to injury as this season or as
(07:13):
this game war on, I should say so a little
bit of curiosity. Shottenheim are also not being very aggressive
in terms of down distance third downs, settling for field goals,
you know, winning against the Lions with field goals.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
I hope he knows that. Hope he understands that. Now, yeah,
only average point one point per game, less than you.
You would have to you would have to kick a
lot of field goals. You'll beat the Lions in this game.
Lions are averaging twenty nine to two a game coming in.
I did see night Train Lane make a good play
a few minutes ago, so that was pretty good. That's
a little update I did not see. Uh. Now it's
(07:48):
part of this game. We have the play of the day.
The Play the Day, of course, is brought to you
by tire rack dot Com. For over forty years, Tyrack's
been uping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive. Shipped fast and free back by
free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile
tire installation. Tire ac dot Com is the way tire
buying should be. Well, we have these two teams squaring
(08:10):
off on a Thursday night. You know. The play of
the day is coming from the Motor City. Jamir Gibbs
take it away, golf up under center, single back his Gibbs.
They give it to Jamir, Jamir into the end zone. Touchdown,
Detroit Lions. Good work up front, good work by the
back and six on the board for Detroit. Good work, everybody,
good work. Yeah, the play by play guy tell you
(08:30):
good way, Hey, good work, good work, good work on
the floor, with good work on the floor, all of you. Yes, Ron,
I've gotta fire you. I've got to fire you. Jamir
Gibbs in the end zone. He's having a big night tonight.
He's got sixty yards receiving, only twenty yards rush. The
Lions don't have any rushing attempts so far tonight. I
think they He has three and Montgomery's got a couple,
(08:51):
but still twenty seven to nine is the lead. Jamiir Gibbs,
I really mean this. You know, we talked about this
a little bit a few weeks ago. Like there's I
remember the last couple of years when we've talked about
Josh Allen saying there's times when I see Josh Allen
on a drive and I go, he's the best quarterback
I've ever seen, just the way just sometimes certain drives
down the field, knowing I'm gonna put the ball I
(09:13):
need to, I'm gonna tuck the ball when I need to.
I'm gonna Like there's some and physically you know he's
not going to fail. There's times I get that vibe
from Josh Allen. There's times I watch Jamiir Gibbs and
I go, he's the best running back in the NFL
in the last fifteen years. There's other guys who've been
really good. I've got some really good running backs. The
end of Adrian Peterson's arra was in the early to
(09:34):
mid teams. But there's times when I look at this
and I go, there is nobody that can hold a
candle to Jamior Gibbs, and it's kind of fun that
they're looking at. They showed Barry Sanders and Jamier Gibbs
on the sideline together a little bit before the game.
Barry at the game get because Gibbs is the closest
thing we've really had to Barry Sanders over the course
(09:55):
of the past fifteen to twenty years in the NFL
as excited. He's kind of like Barry Sanders too. Point No,
Barry didn't catch a lot of passes out of the backfield,
wasn't part of the game right, but he is so
electric and he makes people miss at of Barry Sanders
level and look great. Great runs by by Derrick Henry
in the past fifteen years. I mean, I mean runs
of seasons by Derrick Henry bye By. You want to
(10:18):
even go all the way back, I said, the end
of Adrian Peterson. I mean more like that, the twenty
thirteen twenty fourteen era of Adrian Peterson. But then you've
had Jonathan Taylor come in and have some really big years.
Barkley last year had a really big year. You go
back a couple of years, so there's been running backs.
It's not like the positions had a lot of dirth
at it. But I watched Jamir gibbson I go, I
want to give him the ball on every single play.
(10:40):
But the big thing is that he affects the game
in both capacities right as a as a runner and receiver.
You know he's off and he's sprinting to daylight on
a little flair that looks like a nothing play and
becomes a sprint to daylight, and you watch that with
such regularity.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
I whenever they do the quick tributes, Torry Sanders like,
can you add an extra minute of video? Give folks
really an idea because at this point it's a long
time since he walked away from the game. That's twenty
five years, like a YETI at this point he's there,
like we know him, but like, yeah, but the memory
of Barry Sanders the player, like it's a mythological kind
(11:18):
of thing at this point.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Oh yeah, that guy, because I watched the video of
him was amazing. But you remember the stat lines. It
was like the raptors of Jurassic Park testing a fence.
Oh there he goes.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Damnit, he's he's unleashed and he's out into the secondary.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
You ain't catching him. And if you get in his way,
he's gonna run through you or run right around you.
And we watched that career and certainly as a as
a Bears guy, Chicago kid watched an awful lot of
Lions football, so nobody else had to because it was
generally losing football, although Wayne Fonce had put together some
good runs. But all in all, Jamiir Gibbs and give
(11:56):
me some Christian McCaffrey mixed in there. Go back to
the original and that's goes last century when you're talking
about Roger Craig and how he affected a game. But yeah,
right now, what Jamir Gibbs has become, it's absurd. It's
what Bjon Robinson is supposed to be if they'd actually
use him such exit about a Fresca exit. Swellen Dome,
(12:16):
Jason Smith, Mike Harbon. Now, while we have been talking
in the last couple of minutes, a huge development on
Thursday Night Football, both for this game and the season.
Cowboys are driving down twenty seven to nine again early
in the third quarter, still lots of time left. Cowboys
have to start not kicking field goals. Dak throws a
fade in the end zone for Cede Lamb, who nearly
(12:40):
comes down with a big circus one handed catch very
similar to what we saw Trailon Burks do on Sunday,
but he can't catch it. Ball hits the ground incomplete
pass right away. Cede Lamb puts both of his arms
up and you can see one of his fingers looks
like it's bent all the way to the side. He
(13:00):
stands up and he has looked at. He has a
tough time getting up. He is looked at by the
Dallas Cowboys medical team. He has escorted off the field
and it looked like he was having trouble with his
right arm. Now it looked like it like the fing
You can see the finger being bent and Okay, we'll
get back in the locker and we'll take care of
that seat. He'll be out in five minutes. Yeah, But
(13:22):
the way he was walking was very stilted, where it
almost like when you see someone with a shoulder injury,
when you can tell they're walking, you're getting one arm
is moving and the other one is just absolutely still
by their side. That's kind of what it looked like
for Ceedee Lamb walking off the field. Now, we don't know.
I'm just going by what we saw. Again, this is information.
It's just a couple of minutes old about what we've
(13:43):
been able to see while we're talking. But it looked
like Ceedee Lamb off to the locker room, going off
right now, they're showing him again and it looks like
his arms are moving a little bit better, but he
is not moving back towards the field. He's moving back.
I believe he came back out and now was going
back into the locker room. We'll have an update on
that as soon as we know. But it looks like
(14:05):
he's a little bit better, but it's it's really hard
to tell because no helmet on, medical personnel surrounding him
as he goes in the locker.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Room, he becomes one of those all right, is he
walking tough, like wants to look tough in the moment,
and then he'll get back into the locker room and
whatever is ailingm becomes a magnified issue. But came out,
watched the rest of that Dallas scoring drive, and immediately
headed back towards the locker.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Yeah. Like, he also hit his head. If you see
the other replay of this, he came down and his
head landed on the turf. So I don't know if
that's part of the evaluation for CD Lamb as well.
So I got to think with what they're looking at
for him, whether it's his finger, whether it's his shoulder,
it's his head. I think we've seen the last of
CD Lamb for this game.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Yeah, it was an interesting play because where Dak threw
the ball, he cans towarts his body. He's open, but
he expected more into the field to play, whereas Dak
was going more towards the sideline.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
You know, the and the boundary of the end zone.
So he contorts and hits and just it's a mess.
Is really really the easiest, I think, most complete way
to say. It's because at this point, you could tell
me it's almost any part of his body, and I'd
believe you, yes the way, yea, yeah, you can't tell
me a leg injury, I'd believe you. You can tell
(15:20):
me it's his fingers are broken, I'd believe you. Shoulder,
jam head, hit the turf, all of those things. Check check, checks.
So we'll see what the update becomes here in the
next couple of minutes. Meanwhile, Cowboys get in the end
zone for a touchdown to cut it to a twenty
seven to sixteen lead. Javonte Williams goes in from a
couple of yards out, so we have a game again,
(15:43):
at least for now. The lines with the lead. What
does this do? Mike Carmen for the over in the
game seven sixteen, we're at wait stop, wait thirty thirty
seven thirty seven row forty hang on twenty seven forty
(16:03):
forty thirty forty three nicely yeah yeah forty three. There
we go. Yeah, no, good for you. Mary Mary Mac Wow,
Mary Mac Wow? What do you play? Just killed America.
You're in the globe. You're whamageddoning people right now.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
You're just absolutely obliterated about hundreds of thousands of people.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
I'll listen to a sports show. They're not gonna play
wham I will get Wamageddon. Oh Mary Mac that's just
cold blooded grinch unless Mary is in a Whamageddon contest.
She has headphones on, proving that I can't hear the
song I'm gonna play Hit the Knock. Everybody else out? Yeah,
Bakia Ellie like in Batman, right when the Joker, when
(16:47):
the Judge, When when Vicky Vale gets put this on
and she puts on the gas mask and everybody else
gets Yeah. So twenty seven to sixteen love an update
on Ceedee Lamb coming up? Uh straight ahead, way to minute.
We got Moncey Blanos has a h You have an
update for ust Monson.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
Yes, yes, Lamb has been ruled out for the rest
of the game with the concussion.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Wow. Okay, so again that that didn't seem like we'd
see ceed Lamb. There's Monty's got it right there, Thank you,
mon concussion for Lamb. He is out for the rest
of the game. We have more football, and believe it
or not, we have a huge basketball ending to a
game you gotta hear and the team that won. You're
not gonna believe it when I say they have absolutely
no problems right now. That's next, right here? Who's that
(17:29):
team Jason and Mike Fox. I mean you would not
it's the other team problem, because Mike and I clearly
have problems. At least Harmon. He's betting all his kids'
college funds on the over on this game. Almost there.
Don't worry eleanor We're almost there.
Speaker 2 (17:50):

again YouTube, Just search Odd Couple FSR, check us out

Speaker 1 (18:32):
No, now I feel like watching die Hard. Yeah, this
is the last song at die At the end of
Die Hard, did you get your advent calendar? Then oh yeah,
and I have yet right now, now I got Hans
Gruber fun. And the thing is, if you have the
Advent calendar where you know it's not Christmas until Hans
Gruber falls all the way to the bottom, Notchatoby Plaza. Like,
there's two ways you could have them fall. You could
(18:54):
have them fall facing the ground, or you have them
fall facing upward. I have them fall facing upwards, because
that's how he falls off the building, like you get
up with the shock for those that are really big
film nerds and how things were done. And so I
turn it that way, and so I use the thing
that shows me the date is his right arm just
pointed out like that shows what date it is, because
(19:15):
it's all we're gonna do this on account of three Ready,
now I have got you having calendars and tops basketball
on it, tops baseball. Here we go, a pack a day.
Let's go now Thursday Night football. It is still a
twenty seven to sixteen lead for the Lions over the Cowboys.
We got something to bring you from this game before
(19:36):
we bring you something absolutely Titanic from the NBA Cede
Lamb has been ruled out for the rest of this game.
In concussion protocol, Dak throwing a bit of a fade
to him in the end zone. He could not corral it.
He comes back up right away, his hams come up.
It looks like one of his fingers is bent to
the side. But after you see a couple more replays.
(19:58):
This happen while you're on the air a few minutes ago.
So you see a couple of replays and you start thinking, oh,
that's the posturing, and you get sometimes yeah, when when
you would that that you see right, it happened to
Tua uh most famously in the last couple of years.
And that's exactly what he has been uh being in
He's not I don't know where the evaluation process is
(20:20):
he obviously he was evaluated very quickly off the field, uh,
and he came right back on to watch the end
of the Cowboys drive. So I would assume very quickly
it was okay, yeah, you're not coming back in this game.
And uh he's been since left the field after the
Cowboys touchdown drive. Here's what it sounded like a few
minutes ago. The play that Knox side Lamb out of
the game.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Bash that locking one and it's incomplete Lamb trying to
make a spectacular.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Catch, could not and he is going to be slow
in getting back up. Sweet the Lamb.
Speaker 6 (20:54):
Oh my gosh, how he he gave everything he had
to make an acrobatic catch, and I don't know if
he had a chance to get his hands down to
protect himself from the from the ground.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Yeah, Kirk Krbstreet and Al Michael's on the call. His
head hits the ground pretty pretty roughly. So that's what's
going on for CD Lamb right now. So the if
you're looking for a silver lining in this, okay, doesn't
like this as a shoulder injury or a hand injury
or anything else. Now. The concussion obviously is serious too,
But we talked about it could have been anything with him.
It could have been a have been three injuries. But
it's a concussion for him. Hopefully he gets cleared very
(21:30):
soon get back to playing, but out for this game.
And and you know, look, the Cowboys need every w
they can get. The Eagles have the door wide open
for them in the division. Hey, come on, in man,
we don't we don't really care, we don't want to
play anymore. We're done with the season. We just want
to get home for Christmas and then that's it and
none of us like each other. We're gonna have changes
next year. It's gonna baut new Oc. The people are
egging his house. We gotta have to gotta get rid
(21:51):
of a j.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Brown.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Nobody likes me on the quarterback Jalen hurts, Yeah, we
got changed. We don't really care. So the door is
open for the Cowboys. But tonight have to come from
behind against the lines a little bit more and maybe
try to navigate the next week or so without ceedee lamb.
Although he does have ten days to get ready for
the next game.
Speaker 4 (22:08):
No, And that's you know, the I guess the two
pieces of for the silver lining of it all right,
is that you do have that long period after this,
the you know, mini bi ish kind of thing when
you're you're talking about a Thursday game. But also that
he was up and it'd come back to the field
to watch that drive before departing the game. So I
(22:28):
think that's we'll take that as a bit of a
positive right that we go through and immediately and as
we were watching the the replays, and you can hear
it in Kirk kerb Street's voice where he saw it
on replay, you know, just exactly the contortion of his
body and how he'd hit the ground the other you know,
you mentioned the Eagles real quick, Jalen Carter. That came
(22:49):
out of nowhere. Oh yeah, yeah, all of a sudden.
You know, it hasn't been well, but now the injury
becomes a Yeah, he went underwent surgeries on shoulders, yes.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
Not one shoulder, two shoulders, two shoulders. Yeah. Moday night
football against the Chargers. So again we'll have more football
on the way again late in the third quarter, Cowboys
with the football trailing the Lions twenty seven to sixteen. Meanwhile,
a titanic story from the NBA tonight. Lakers and the Raptors,
a couple of teams that no one expected to be
(23:23):
as good as they were so far this year. Coming
down to the final play of the game, the game
is tied at one twenty a piece. Lakers have the basketball,
and here's how it ended. Just make sure you get
the last shot in regular roots. There it goes roots
to James Checket Carter really.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
To win the game, it says, gave him the basketball.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Bill McDonald on the call right there. Very big deal
that Lebron gave Ruey the basketball was It was a
big deal because Lebron passing up a game when shot.
Lebron's got the ball in the middle of the floor,
He's got some room to move, but the defense is
obviously is going to suck down in the paint to
try to get to Lebron. Lebron takes a couple of
(24:12):
steps the defense defense moves a little bit towards the middle,
and he fires a bullet pass to Ruy Hachamra, who
buries the three to win the game for the Lakers.
Lakers improved to sixteen and five on the season. Why
was this such a big deal? Why? Why is that
to We've seen game winning shots before. What are you
talking about.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
And Lebron passing up potentially Yeah, we've seen Lebron. Yes,
we've seen that before. What Jason, Come on, man, come on,
he does that all the time.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
We've seen all of these things. But Lebron passing up
the game winning shot, getting the ball to Rui Hachima
who hits the game winner. Because Lebron James at that
point in the game had a grand total of eight
points twelve hundred and ninety seven straight games that Lebron
(25:01):
have scored in double figures. The streak is over. He
passes up a potential game and you know he knew
he only had eight points. That's Lebron we're talking about now.
You know he knew he had eight points, you know it,
passing up that game winning shot to give Ruey Hachimura
a wide open look. He hits the three, The Lakers win.
(25:23):
Lebron an awful night, shooting four out of seventeen from
the floor, did, however, dish out eleven assists. It was
a huge game for the Lakers. It was a huge
game for Tonight, especially Austin Reeves going for forty four
on the game. Luca did not play Tonight. The Lakers
to win this game. Okay, now, to give you a
(25:44):
big point before you get into Lebron James, the Lakers
win this game on the road against one of the
top teams in the East. Lebron doesn't score ten points,
Luca doesn't play, and they still win. And Lebron facilitates
the end when he could have easily kept it for himself,
because hey, who's the best option on the floor with
(26:05):
no Luca. It's Lebron. But no one's gonna blame Lebron
if he takes the ball to the rack and goes
up with a shot. Now, because he is the best
option on the floor. Yes, Reeves has forty four, but
both of them, I'm okay with Lebron taking the last
second shot. They win a game in that kind of fashion.
Lebron looks unselfish passing over to Ruy. The Lakers have
(26:26):
zero problems right now. Okay, now, yes, the Oklahoma City
Thunder are a level above everyone else, but the Lakers
right now, again, they have zero problems. This is a
team that has gone from hey, it's a pretty nice
start to wait a minute, Elite teams find a way
to win without their best player. Right What do I
say about the Knicks why they're gonna eventually go get Giannis?
(26:49):
Because they can't win when Jalen Brunson has a bad
game as good as their supporting cast is, when Jalen
Brunson plays horribly, he has a bad game shooting, they
can't win. The Lakers have shown you through the first
not even two months, it's about maybe about two months
of the season, through these these first twenty one games,
first quarter of the season, they can win without Luca.
(27:10):
They can win without Austin Reeves. They can win without
Lebron James, and they can win when these guys have
bad games as well, someone else picks up the slack.
I mean, if you're looking for that team right now,
who I would tell you? Okay, who's the second best
team in the NBA behind the Thunder. Yes, other teams
have have really good to look the start for the Pistons,
the way the Knicks play at home, right the Nuggets
(27:32):
have been really good. The Lakers are that second team.
They have absolutely no problems because they have shown you
already we can win without our stars. We can when
the stars have off nights. And now you have the
the Kumbaya moment of Lebron passing up his streak, and
you know he's gonna say after the game, hey, you
know it didn't matter to me. We got the win.
That was all the matter. Player He runs and hugs
(27:52):
Ruey Hachimora right after the game is over, and it's
a whole big deal, and you he's gonna be that
have the biggest awe shucks press conference of his life
after the game. I mean, everything is coming up sevens
for the Lakers right now. They have no problem.
Speaker 4 (28:05):
I want him in those shorts with the man bag.
That's that's the way you got to complete that look
as you go. But the dish the win. He always
thinks about making the right play. That's the thing that's
going to go and start shuffling Hachimura. In the post,
bron told me right before, it's gonna come to you
and bang it goes down. It's curious, right you mentioned
(28:28):
you know, okay, see and where they are in this equation.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
We talked with Rick Buker and in the potential of hey,
you know why, what would preclude them from making a trade? Right?
They've got three top picks next year and.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
All of that stuff based on the way they've run
their squad ancillary parts. Luke and ellis out of Chicago,
longtime Fox and others. He talked about the fact that
evidently Gianni's camp reached out to the Bulls Brass and
was told they're not interested, which is but also he
reported that Luca said, hey, look into that, will, yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
I will. I will say that with the pace what
the Bulls are trying to do that works so well,
like trying to play it. I don't see Yanni's playing
at that pace. I don't see. Here's the thing, that
pace of play worked for two weeks they are sub
five hundred. Now on the year, they're not good, So
shuffling up and dealing would probably be the wise way
to go in there, keep your core and move on.
(29:28):
But yeah, for the Lakers, I mean this is the
best because we also talk about you know, the next
round against OKC will be the first time that you'll
have your primary three play right. First time they met
and they got boat raced. Lebron didn't play in that game.
You know. It's like the American President boy, I would
have liked to see that race. I want to see
(29:48):
them play at full strength. By the way, I want
to buy some Cha Murray rookie cards. I want to
buy some Robert Rumson cards. I'm Robert Rumson and I'm
running for president of the United States. I'll do what
I can't. I could probably get you to get you
a Dreyfus autograph on a picture of Rumson exit out
about a Fresco exit swollen dome. The streak is over
(30:11):
for Lebron, but for the Lakers, everything is absolutely fantastic.
Second best team in the NBA, only the best teams
can win without their best players, all three of their
best players. They proven. Yeah he came went without them?
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Well, yes, man, the Knicks had all what were said,
their best and they were.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Terrible the day time. How to find out what's trending
in the wide world of sports from someone who's been
called the Jalen Brunson of Fox Sports Radio. If she
didn't have a big night, we don't have a big
night here at Fox. It's I like that one.
Speaker 7 (30:39):
I like Jaylen Brunson. He's tough and he's little, not little,
but you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
He's not tall.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
He's not tall on the court compared to everybody else.
He's not little like me.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
I was not gonna, yeah, go down that path as
to how you would describe Jalen.
Speaker 7 (30:55):
Brunson, but just on the court, not the tallest, but
not the fast not does it it doesn't matter?
Speaker 5 (31:01):
Effective effective af.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Problem with the thickness. I would say this, I would
say this, and there's there's a lot of players like
I say, probably the smartest player in the NBA. Is
that right? Yeah? Oh yeah yeah?
Speaker 4 (31:13):
Under Lebron and his basketball IQ would like to have
a word. Did you see that pass?
Speaker 1 (31:17):
I made to RUI, did you see.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
It, Lebron?
Speaker 1 (31:19):
You had an open path for a dunk and you
passed for a three that didn't make. It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter matter, right basketball play.
Speaker 5 (31:25):
Lebron would have something to say about everything.
Speaker 7 (31:27):
Let's be real, But yeah, that was a crazy shot
by Ruey Ashimora. Lakers beat the Raptors one twenty three
to one twenty, But it was Austin Reeves who put
on the show forty four points tennis ciss He became
the eighth player this season with at least twenty two
points in a quarter. By the way, Luca has already
done that twice other games in the NBA. The Timberwolves
outscore the Pelicans one twenty five to one sixteen. Julius
(31:48):
Randall twenty eight points, nine rebounds, Jazz top the Nets
one twenty three to one ten. The Celtics blew out
the Wizards one forty six to one oh one, and
the seventy six ers survived ninety nine to ninety eight
against the Warriors Golden State without Steph Curry, without Jimmy Butler.
They lost Draymond Green to a right foot injury in
the first half. They were down twenty four points and
came back and the seventy six ers wanted on a
(32:11):
tip shot from VJ. Edgecomb very like last seconds, and
then there was a block by Tyrese Maxy at the
other end to really seal the deal. Tyris Tyreee Maxie
ended with thirty five points in that one. Other NBA news,
Bucks Ford Yon and Tom Chakompo is gonna miss about
two to four weeks because of a calf strain. In
the NFL, the Lions lead the Cowboys right now twenty
(32:31):
seven to nineteen.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
It's early in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 7 (32:34):
If you have Brandon Aubrey on your fantasy football team, congratulations.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
Congrat I'm playing cydeboards. Not fair, it's fair if.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
You super man slam him on the head, let's go.
Speaker 7 (32:47):
Yeah, it's unreal what he is capable of. He just
hit a sixty three yard field goal for the Cowboys.
It's an absolute cheat code.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Other he's the only kicker that I checked my fantasy
stud going against him.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Okay, I got to maximize all this other stuff because
he's gonna have a twenty.
Speaker 7 (33:03):
Literally, he's at twenty one right now last I checked,
So he's gonna get more because this is not The
game's not over and they're still a whole fourth quarter.
Speaker 5 (33:11):
You guys, did just mention mentioned Jalen Carter.
Speaker 7 (33:14):
He's out for Monday Nights game against the Chargers after
undergoing a procedure this past Monday on both his shoulders.
As for Justin Herbert, he was a limited participant in
practice today. Also no practice today for Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson,
but Commanders upgrade a quarterback Jaden Daniels to a full
participant at today's practice. And in college football, Kansas State
is hiring a familiar face, calling Klein, to be their
(33:35):
new head coach, and it was reported earlier today also
that James Madison.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
There we go, James Madison is our former president.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
President Madison and Jefferson are merciless sinner, No no what.
Speaker 7 (33:48):
James Madison is our former Florida head coach Billy Napier
to be their head coach.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Mad medicine shape than the New York Jess is in
s Are you useless as justin Fields? Okay, so I'd
go watch that Lynn Manuel Miranda Redux redoing Jets as
the Jets the history of the absolutely maybe use for
every NFL team, Hamilton in for every single NFL team.
(34:14):
You know I'm gonna ai that blank for the rest
of the night. The whole Chicago city isn't okay, Thank
you very much, Chicago. Coming up next, we commemorate and
spotlight this titanic moment in NBA history, Lebron's double digit
streak being over the best way we know how. That's next,
(34:38):
Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Fox Sports Radio. Jason Smith Show with My best friend
Mike Harmon. Yeah, you know that song never made any sense, right? Uh?
I remember all these other dopes and then you're gonna
ask me if I remember this guy bag cavat out,
You remember the rest of them? Thursday Night Football a
battle of long field goals. Yeah, the Lions just convert.
(35:12):
Make it a thirty nineteen lead over the Cowboys. Still
plenty of time left up twelve minutes ago in the
fourth quarter. We got more football on the way, but
only need another five and a half. Tonight is a
huge night in the NBA, as the Lakers beat the
Raptors tonight, won twenty three to one. Twenty Lebron James
could have taken the final shot of the game, dishes
(35:33):
it off to Ruey Hachimura, who buries the game winning three.
This ends Lebron James's streak of twelve hundred and forty
seven consecutive games and double figures because he finished with
eight in a four of seventeen shooting night. Not like
he didn't take his opportunities over the course of the night.
He did, didn't. We talk about this like a few
(35:54):
days ago and we said it's absolutely ending this year.
Oh yeah, it's absolutely ending this year. That there was
He said that last night, and I'm really I know
we said it in the last couple of days this week.
We said, yeah, absolutely, that streak is ending this year.
He's the some nights, he's the fourth option on the
tell it one way or another's gonna end, right, I mean,
because you're also talking about how many games. Is there
(36:15):
an opportunity where he doesn't finish a game where he's
at six points and that's just the way it goes, right,
But to end this way, it's like I'd rather an
end because he took the shot and missed it. Much
better story that way. But hey, Ruy Hachimura for the win.
So it's time to play the Lebron James the last
time he scored less than double figures in a game. Game, game, game,
(36:39):
playing as myself, Mike Carmon Monci bolangos premiuro Mary back.
Are you guys ready, it's a game game. I'm gonna
give you the historical event, and you tell me if
this was before or after the last time Lebron James
scored less than ten points in a game? Okay, what
(37:00):
happened more recently, Lebron James? Because it was in January
of two thousand and seven, We want to put that
out there, two thousand and seven. What happened more recently
Lebron scoring less than ten points? Or the launch of
the first iPhone? What came first, Lebron?
Speaker 5 (37:21):
When was what year?
Speaker 1 (37:22):
Again? I'm sorry, it happened in January of two thousand
and seven, seven, Lebron? What are you looking something up?
What are you doing? You just said that, You just
said that, and you stand at the way you said it. Okay,
two thousand and seven, you look out?
Speaker 5 (37:37):
Okay, relax, I gotta.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
See your hands. You got to see your hands. Okay,
you got to see your hands. Okay, just like just
like in just like in the movies when they got
to see your hands. Put those hands up, Give me
your hands, show me your hands. Get your hands up,
get your hands up. So did Lebron James score less
than ten points in a game? Or did the iPhone
(37:58):
one come out? What happened more recently? iPhone? Okay, Moncey,
hands up, because you got your hands up, were playing
your song.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
I don't understand the question iPhone. I'm just kidding it.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
It is dad, all right, two for the iPhone, Brie.
Speaker 5 (38:17):
I'm gonna say Lebron.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Okay, all right, Mary mack.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
So like basically, what's older?
Speaker 7 (38:22):
Yes, oh, then it would be well wait if it's
what's older.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
Waiting to be iPhone, Well, you have two guesses. You
have Lebron scoring lesson ten in a game or the
iPhone coming out.
Speaker 5 (38:36):
So the most recent one would be Lebron.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
Okay, the most recent of those two. The first iPhone
came out after Lebron James scored eight in a game
for the Cavaliers. Was it was in mid of seven? Yeah,
(38:59):
of course it's fair.
Speaker 5 (39:01):
I don't know what happened.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
More recently, Lebron James scoring eight points in a game
last Time and Janny Rose seven or the release of
the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hellos.
What's older? Lebron's streak is older?
Speaker 5 (39:23):
Okay, Harry Potter book, Harry Potter book.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Okay, you're Harry Potter fan moncy not.
Speaker 5 (39:29):
A big one, not a not a no, Okay, Harry Potter.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
Is not the author? Yes, okay, okay.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
I'm a Slytherin if you're curious.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Oh ye oh yeah, you completely trapped a Slytherin.
Speaker 5 (39:40):
Yes, all right, I say Lebron again.
Speaker 7 (39:45):
Okay, I feel like I remember the Harry Potter book
coming out when I was in school.
Speaker 5 (39:48):
So the last one.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Though, yeah, the last one Deathly Hallows. So you're saying, what,
what's older? Lebron or Deathly Hallows? So I think I'm
with the book.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Mary.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
You're confusing me. You're confusing America.
Speaker 5 (40:05):
I don't know man Lebron or Harry Potter.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Okay, Harry Potter. What's older? So you say Harry Potter
is older? The final Harry Potter book was released after
Lebron scored again for the Cavaliers. Is that nine late
and O seven seven the Lebron James eight point games.
(40:28):
Speaking of games, we may have the game in Detroit.
Broken coverage has made this much more interesting after the
latest Cowboys touchdown. More on this next Fox
