Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio. Welcome inside final Hour Tonight
The Jason Smith Show with My bes friend Todd Bowles.
Todd is angry. The sea was like you, my friend,
like you. He didn't do his job either. The coaches
did everything and these guys, Nutty's already screaming. Look how

(00:47):
upset he is. Uh, we'll get to just you want
to know just how wide open the playoffs are, because
tonight's one of those games where you see boy Tampa Bay.
Early in the season, they were terrific. Baker Mayfield was
an end candidate. No, it was a hero in the
fourth quarter of all those games, and they get all
their guys back and they lose. They blow a fourteen
point lead in the fourth quarter to a team to quit.

(01:09):
They were done they're four and nine. The Falcons were finished.
They're trying to figure who the next coach is gonna be.
We gonna get Bobby Patrino back? Why not, right wow?
Or leave another note in the locker room on his
way out. I mean maybe they could get Lane Kiffin.
I don't know, you know, maybe you know I want
to leave to go to the top in the wheel.
Come on, like, this is so incredibly embarrassing for Tampa

(01:29):
Bay that now is in second place in the NFC South,
and somehow the Carolina Panthers at seven and six are
in first place. They didn't play tonight and they ascended
to first place. I love it. Minus fifty point differential,
but winner in their last time out, giving them the
edge over the Buccaneers, who follow to seven and seven

(01:49):
with the loss tonight. Now we'll get to just how
wide open the playoffs are. We using tonight as an
example coming because it's gonna it's gonna really shock you
when I when I tell you just how wide open
it is. But we got to hear Todd Bowles again.
Oh yeah, absolutely, Tampa Bay's head coach. Let's just say
that you're not going to be able to follow anything
he says. But that's okay because it's still absolutely hysterical.

(02:10):
He's asked about the lost of night against the Atlanta Falcons,
and uh, well, let's let Todd Bowles take it away.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
It's an excusable if you don't make excuses. You got
enough words, you got care enough for it. It got
something to you. It's more than a job good. How
well do you know your job? How well can you
do your job?

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Well?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
You can't sugar coat it was incusable and it's a
fort it's for no excuse for it.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
And that's what you're tell him a lot.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I'm looking.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Inexcusable blank in its in blankingscus. In twenty six seconds,
we had to bleep him ten times. What's won every
two point six two point seven second, Les, let's get
the bet for Thebut twenty seven seconds, one bleep every
two point seven seconds. That's pretty good. That's a pretty

(03:06):
good clip. I really want to go listen to Lee
Ily and Tommy Lesorda and see if that's the same
kind of clip for Leon Talm. I mean that is
a pace that I mean it's hard to maintain that pace, right,
because at some point you realize, Wow, I'm cursing a lot. Yeah, yeah,
I'm in front of a lot of people who are
now mouths agape with me cursing a bunch. I look
resplendent in my bucko Bruce attire. But I mean that

(03:32):
can't that can't even tamp down the anger that I feel.
Right now? What do you got, Frostburg, Well.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
We have a very very frustrated Baker Mayfield after the loss.
Now do you like this?

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Do you think?

Speaker 4 (03:48):
That's my question to you guys, Okay, all right? Do
you think it needs to be bleeped more or less
times than Todd wont.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Does Baker Mayfield need to be bleeped more or less
time than Todd Bowles. I'm gonna get Wow, that's won
every two points. How many seconds is the sound bite
we have from twenty two seconds? Oh that's tough, man.
You gotta get Oh, you gotta get eleven bleeps it
that's one every two seconds. I'm gonna say less. I'm
still gonna give this a tome. I just think the

(04:21):
math is just not enough time. It's fuzzy math. It's
won every two sets. I'll take the under. I'm looking
at the lee Elia. They're saying fifty profane words in
about three minutes. Oh yeah, then then it's yeah then
Todd Bowles, Yeah better at the better rate. Yeah yeah,
I mean he was more efficient with his curses, more efficient.
I'm gonna take the under on Baker, but I bet

(04:43):
it's closed. Well, remember Baker was very very frustrated. Under
he was I'll take that, or does he just say
I'm very frustrated man? Twenty two seconds one, it's one
every two sets. Yeah, you know, I'm still gonna take
the under. That's a half that's a full more than
half a second have to get on them. I mean
that's like the difference between you know, your time to

(05:03):
throw and how quickly you the pocket. Ye, yeah, you
got two point seven seconds. Davis Mills is like one
point six and your highest is about two point six.
Two times that would be something whole. Well, then he
would win. All right, here's the beauty of it. He
since we don't know right now what any of that
audio would be. Yeah, I mean, tis sure could just

(05:25):
be bleeping every second. That's what I mean. That's why
I said the first time we played Todd Bowles, is
that now do all of those need to be bleeped,
and Tyer said, yes, I'd be fired if it wasn't.
So he likes his job, well he doesn't.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
He doesn't.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
He doesn't have the he doesn't have the cachet yet
to leave us to go buy and sell Pokemon cards yet.
So you know we're working on that. We're working on it.
You think I want to go buy Pokemon cards. I
thought you did. No, I want to rip for people Pokemon. Yeah.
Oh so he doesn't actually want to own any. So
you're just the throughput okay, distributor, just want to hear cars.
People buy them, you open them, and then someone that

(05:59):
you work with ships them to the people that buy them. Okay.
And it's like a TV show to see the live
results of a of a back of cards, to be
paid to do it, just to open the cards. I
don't jobs doing that. Yeah, Pokemon sports, non sports, you
name it. You know, it's like, Jason, it's like being
a grandfather to a child. You know, you get to

(06:20):
enjoy them in their best and send them back to
the paras because part of it is the the product knowledge, right,
So you scoured the checklist, insertion rates, whatever, So you're
kind of teaching people about the product as well. So
you're selling right through the websites and whatever or live
live sales, but you're also educating people of like, all right,
here's the average you know, insertion rate of this. So

(06:41):
when you pull something, it's like, hey, that's a big deal, right,
that's like and so you become a hype. So you're
like the like you're working. You're the ms. You're not
just the hands that are opening. Yeah, not because you're
talking about you're talking it through, right, It's like, hey,
there's a there's a you know cool, there's the big
head Mike Trout cards all right, you know this comes
out or the mini Mike Trout Guard. It's not made

(07:03):
one where like they're little tiny. It's not just who
has the best looking hands and we're gonna go to
tight io on that. No, no, no, no, it's not
George Costanza like Joey get it's my hand twin. Hey
you're my hand twinch exactly. All right, all right, so
let's say let's see later start in a sitcom with
Matthew Perry, I mean, my man, you know, so there
you go, Thomas Lennon. Let's hear the Baker Mayfield frustrated

(07:26):
twenty two seconds.

Speaker 5 (07:27):
Yeah, we're pissed off. We expected to win that game.
We want to win that game. Should be pissed off.
And like I said, when you're up two scores and
your offense has a chance to put the game away
and you don't, you can obviously, people are gonna blame
the defense, but it's not the defense's fault.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
It's it's our fault. It's my fault.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
And that's that's how I view it, and that's how
I'm gonna handle it.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Thanks for nothing, Baker, Wowoo, Well you could have been
a little bit more upset than that.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
I mean, he's burning under the surface, but he wears it, well,
that was zero bleeps. Well look, and I'm glad he
took ownership for it. He didn't say it was a
defensi's fault because look, he did throw the bad pick.
That was a bad throw. I don't know what he
was trying to do trying to get the ball into
Mike Evans. Mike Evans is screaming on the sideline after
it was over on the final drive. But Baker Mayfield's
always been someone who has taken a responsibility for a

(08:18):
team lose he's aways always always had off. He's the
first away he's been fixed. But I'm disappointed in that.
I'm disappointed, like I wanted at least a couple of
bleeps from baking It goes, see it cuts. Either way,
you're either really impressed that he's able to keep his leg.
Gotta keep your composure. Yeah, I mean that's a profession.
He didn't really he was well. But what Todd Bowles

(08:42):
very Baker Mayfield is fiery, Todd Bowles is composed. Todd
Bowles curses twenty seven times in a twenty five second
sound bite, and Baker Mayfield is more composed, like what
we're we're in the bizarro world right now. Yeah, but
can we get any more of of Boles behind the scenes.
I mean, someone's got to have a camera something to

(09:06):
chronicle that. I mean, come on, that's next normal stuff. Yeah,
normally just well, you know, we didn't have it tonight.
We we could have come up with the stuff. No,
this blanket guy and that blanken guy coaches did all
they could. These blankety blanks inox blank incusable. I mean,
come on, that's fantastic. Yeah, it's it's real. When and
also when you hear somebody who generally is soft spoken

(09:29):
and look, Todd Bowles has gotten a lot of credit
from anybody he's been the coach of in his career.
When you can be, when you can lead being softball,
you always have to yell at somebody. That's a really
effect generally having you know, the the heart rate of
a poker player, no matter how good or bad the
hand is. Oh sure, generally Todd Bowles. One of the
criticisms through his career is that he doesn't show enough. Yeah,

(09:51):
fire right, He's not Aaron Glenn dancing down the sideline,
which is perhaps a bit too much, but generally fifth
of September, Oh, by the way, that game against Todd
Bowles and the busy right. Uh, when someone is is
more soft spoken and and it's and you hear them
curse to that extent, it just it just shocks you, right,

(10:15):
It just really that's shit when you're used to, you know,
just soft spoken, use your words and then just saying
forget it. You know that that I gotta show how
upset I am because this is against character. You know,
It's it's funny because you know that all the times
I've coached when I'm coaching younger kids, coaching younger girls
in soccer and softball. Obviously you watch, yeah, And but

(10:38):
when they get older, and by that, I mean when
they get to the point where they're almost in high school.
They're in high school, they've heard curse words before. Uh,
you know, if I say, if I if I say
a curse word, not cursing at them, but if I
curse and say, ah, that blent whatever, it was, like
that's something that happened once in a while. Okay, that's great,
but not great. But it's okay. Like you're cursing in sports,

(10:59):
kind of go together. And again, it's never me cursing
at the players. It's just me cursing because something happened,
oh blank me on that or something, and somebody has
to hear. But what I get is that because the
girls growing up, not all of them knew what I
did for a living. That all knew that. You know,
I'm on the rate and I speak for a living.
But like the parents who did, like sometimes like after
a game, they would say, hey, hey, coach, what's up,

(11:21):
and they go look at me, go, well you look
at me, go, I I heard you curse there. You know,
in the in the sixth inning when you know when
the you know, the umpire missed that call or somebody's going,
oh yeah, yeah I did, and I said, well, I'm
sorry if he goes, no, no, no, it's just I hear
you on the radio, and you know, hearing you curse
is something new, and I'm I don't know, I don't
know how to do. You know what, come on after
ten o'clock, you'll hear us work blue. You hear what

(11:43):
I say to Harmon when the microphone is off. You
want to know it's true. No, there's no question about
so they always I always get a little bit of
that wide eyed like I never coach, I never knew
you were you curse like that. Well, it's funny, rights
as my daughter's played up the level, like chill, come
back and tell me some of the smack talk and
some of what goes on. Uh, and a lot of
our midfielders get into it. But she's had a couple

(12:05):
of opponents. She goes, I really wish I had a
microphone on for some of the stuff they were trying
to say, and then she shuts him down for the day.
And at the end they won't shake hands. They curse,
give her a blank, use the handshake like I need
I need more of that. That's fine. Fight fight, fight
the handshake line, fight fight going on, fight handshake line.
Never quite get gets to that, but yeah, it's there's

(12:28):
some contentiousness and certainly once the uh the girls start
chattering amongst themselves on the fields, like, all right, those
words are now in play. Let's go. If Todd Bowles
was playing heat to curse right out the Yeah, the
soft spoken guy, he's really mad, he's really really Look,
you do it for effect, right, It's like a comedian.
You meet her out and then you punctuate that one

(12:50):
joke with the curseword. So we got more on this
game coming up next again, we will get to the cut.
We'll get to the NFL playoffs again. I'm gonna tell
you something that's insane about how we aren't making it,
the Jets aren't making about how i'd open the playoffs
is plus, if you need a superstar quarterback next year
on your team, I'm pretty sure after what he said today,

(13:11):
there's gonna be one available for you to trade for.
I'll tell you what the best landing spots are for him.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Jason, is this Todd Bowles? I know, Todd Bowles is
much more upset than Chew. He is, cand Todd Bowles,
rip your arm off? Here you go Chiwi Fox Sports
Radio Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmon. Yeah,
we'll hear the Todd Bowles audio again in a few minutes.

(14:22):
Too good not to play again. To run into the ground,
play it as often as possible. Yeah, it's like running
up that hill. I mean, no need to do it.
It's much better than running up that hill. It has
much more, It's much more more. Would you like it?
I still wouldn't like the song. Just a rock and
roll hall of fame. I'm running up that blanken hill. Ye, yeah,

(14:44):
because then I would say I got to listen to
that blank and song one more time. And that's kind
of how it goes.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Now, after the loss tonight by the tam Bay Buccaneers
to Atlanta Falcons team that uh the seemingly dead on arrival. Yes,
the Panthers now are in the driver's seat in the
NFC South. They are seven and six, can can win

(15:12):
the divisions? Why are you laughing at him? They run
the ball? Well, Bryce Showing doesn't turn it over? Is
gonna win Rookie of the Year. Okay probably sure? Okay, right,
he's overtaking a book. Okay with the smallest game for
him again. Yeah, yeah, I'm chasing.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
If the Jets were in the NFC South, they'd before
games out of first.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
We're still we're still nothing. We got a chance, man,
if we run the table and everybody else loses. See,
if you had a good quarterback, he might have been
inspired to come back like Joe Burrow was. Uh So
this is how we think the NFL playoffs. This is
how wide open the playoffs are. I really nothing illustrates

(15:57):
it more than this. I was reading today, just one
of those things. Right. So if the if the playoffs
started today, right here, here's what the matchups would be.
And I'm just looking at that. Okay, Obviously the playoffs
don't start today. We have another month in the season
and lots of things can happen, lots of things can change.
We're still waiting to find out who's gonna be the
best teams in the playoffs going into it. But looking

(16:20):
at the matchups, how it would see, you know, the
teams and you know would have the buy in the
first round of the playoffs if the playoffs started today,
and let because that's the that's the the gambit with
this is yeah, here on December, just after the first
game of the week. If the playoffs started today, I

(16:41):
would take the lower seed to win every one of
the first round, all of them, all of them. I
would take Houston over New England because as good as
New England is, New England's good, advantageous schedule. Yeah, the
Texans defense best defense in the NFL. I do not
I do not see if they were playing again playing tomorrow,

(17:03):
season starts. If the play start tomorrow, SE's in it today,
the Texans playing a game tomorrow, I have more confidence
in their defense over the Patriots offense. Now, I will
give the Patriots a little bit of a crumb. It
was the closest game that I decided. Ah can I
really but I would take the Tillden hat on that one.
I would take the Texans defense over Drake Man his
first playoff currently giving up sixteen points per game, the

(17:25):
Patriots sitting at fifth at eighteen point five. With your
giant asterisk of the strength of schedule voting asterisk, I
would take Buffalo over Jacksonville. Oh see, this is that
might be where I zag. As much as you know,
I love Josh Allen. Chargers over the Steelers. Yeah, Bears

(17:48):
over the Packers. Bears should have probably won last week.
I take them in a playoff game against against the
Packers San Francisco. You know, I don't like San Francisco
at all. But Philadelphia looks like they're just waiting for
Santa to come down the chimney, the season to be over. Well,
and look, you're for your former head coach is getting
ready for another job. He's gonna have his pick. They're done,

(18:08):
and I would take Seattle by far and away over
I took him over Tampa, who had the spot coming in.
Now I take them easily over Carolina. I would take
all the lower Now, it's not always the lower seed
is the worst team, because of you have a situation
like the NFC South where the team in first place
is just okay, and the Seahawks are probably the second

(18:29):
best team in football, so it's not quite the upset,
but still I would take all the lower seeded teams
in these games, the Texans, the Bills, the Chargers, the Bears,
the forty nine Ers, and the Seahawks every single game.
Might take the lower seted team, seeah. I might look
at the Jaguars for the to hold serve for the
fact that they've got a good run defense that could

(18:50):
contain Cook and Allen to a degree, and they've got
a good run game of their own that they can
bludgeon what's been a pretty soft Buffalo squad midleate middle
of the pack. Now is it a coin toss, Yeah,
because I still have Trevor Lawrence has to make a
play for me somewhere, and I'm feeling better about it
with Jacoby Myers and Brenton Strange back in the MIXX. Yeah,

(19:11):
although it's strange you kind of hit the skids the
last week or two. But Myers is coming on like
he's he's that actually marriage. Yeah, I didn't think he'd
have that. It's really hard sometimes you get but there
was nobody else. There's also nobody else there you have
to worry about, you know, Travis Hunter got Travis Hunter
got hurt. Thomas has been in and out of the line. Sure,
so there's there's not a lot there, you know, and

(19:32):
Washington did. So it's not a lot to at least
have a guy that you know a wants to be there.
He wants to prove memory. He had that trade me
signed play instead of instead of his own surname for
for weeks there because the Raider. It's hard to see
guys that have just mailed it in decided they're done
all of a sudden. Now I'm great. Yeah, I'm gonna
try Randy Moss alone Raiders common ground. See, we have

(19:57):
seen it with George Pickens this year when when he
wants to play that happens. Yeah, be careful down the
stretch here now, But I know I take the Bills
and Josh Allen the playoff pedigree of the Bills against
this Jaguars team. There's not a ton of people left
from even two years ago, and they had that big
win over the over the Chargers. So yeah, I'll take
the Bills in that one. And then you picked the
Chargers of Frostburg's match er, I'm not picking them, Are

(20:18):
you kidding? Aaron Rodgers? Again? The j Watts got the
last in the hospital off.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
I just want to make sure I'm paying at what
you've been saying this whole time.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Yeah, go ahead. I didn't hear the Chiefs name. No, no,
we said, because if the season ended today and the
Chiefs are not in the playoffs, hey hey six seven
six seven, six seven, so they're at six seven. The
last team Aaron Rodgers wants to see again is the Chargers.
That is the last team, especially if Minter's thinking he's
getting either a head coaching job in the NFL, if

(20:48):
he wants to be the head man in Michigan does
not want to release the house. But that TJ Watch
story man that goes back to the ascent of Justin
Herbert when he got his first start, like, hey, it's
supposed to be Tron Taylorny. He got punctured. What do
you mean he got punched? Yeah, no, he's out. Okay,
oh wait, but Aaron Rott, No, he would This would

(21:10):
be one of those Hey, Philip Rivers against the Seahawks. Yeah,
maybe you start me in the next game. I don't
know if I want to come back against this defense
on Sunday. Let's start in the next game. Rodgers would say, yeah,
maybe this is where Mason Rudolph starts. Maybe maybe I
finished the rest of the season and I walk off
on a high because regular season I did great, and
somebody else could be the quarterback of the playoff game.
Worst matchup for a QB Aaron Rodgers against the Chargers,

(21:32):
oh Man, Philip Rivers against the Seahawks, or Shoudor Sanders
and minus twenty against the Bears. Oh well, you can
at least still move the ball on the Bears, Okay,
Shadoor Sanders's five hundred yards rush, shure do Shador Sanders
is the number three guy thoughse because yes he will
move the football, he will give it back to the Bears.

(21:53):
A few times. Oh, no big turnovers coming. Yeah. Three,
then I'll go Rogers against the Chargers because the game
would be at home. Uh and the Chargers would be
on the road in January. But then number one, yeah
Rivers on Sunday at the at the Seahawksy. I forget it, man,
forget that's you know, this is this never looked forward
to a game that I have no no skin in

(22:15):
the game, right. I look forward to the Bears games,
even when they're terrible. It's three hours of my my
little world, like you and your Jets, right, But this
one is like, I I don't know what to expect.
It's not that the Colt team. Look, Daniel Jones gets hurt,
goes to IR. They took his number off his back.
Here now, you said it was okay, Philip Rivers said,
Daniel Jones said, it was like, I know that, but

(22:37):
it's still just the principle of that guy was seventeen.
You want He's essentially dead to me, all right, give
me that seventeen You want no part? I mean really,
I don't think any quarterbacks want any part of all
three of those games. But in order that's that's you
know what you know, I think about this. This is
a big but I think about that. Dick Vitale used
to do this great bit a long time ago when

(22:58):
he would travel a lot, and he would like when
Dick vital became famous in the eighties and nineties, he
would travel and he would go to all the Orange
storming before. Yeah, he would even make appearances at colleges
where teams didn't have games, like he would just go.
I remember he would have appeared at the Syracuse bookstore
and he came and he signed autographs, and I remember
em seeing an appearance he had there when I was

(23:19):
in college, and he came and he answered questions. It
was a great thay he but like that you want
to talk about an ambassador for a sport, I mean
he gets his run. I don't think he gets enough
of a run for what he did for college basketball.
He used to do this bit where he would go
to uh like, let's just say, I remember he did this.
He did this for a Syracuse Georgetown game, Like he
went to Georgetown, did an appearance for the for the

(23:43):
week and like Syracuse playing Georgetown like a week and
a half away. So each team had like two or
three games. But of course you go to appearance at
Georgetown Bookstore, you had to talk about Georgetown Syracuse and
and he would not He would do this, and he
did this with so many schools. He would say, Hey,
I'm here at Georgetown Bookstore.

Speaker 9 (23:58):
Hey, Jimmy Bay, I'm up there. And Syracuse. Hey, your
team is playing great. You won five in a row.
You guys are at the top of the Big East.
Don't come down here for this Georgetown team. And then
fans behind we go credit.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Use their mind. Sure know what you're coming into. Come
into this place and go play next Saturday, and everybody
would go nuts. That's how I'd feel, Philip Rivers. You
got a great life, you're coaching football. Everything is awesome.
Don't show up here at Seattle for a football game, Philip,
what's gonna happen to you?

Speaker 6 (24:27):
Come on?

Speaker 1 (24:28):
That's kind of how I feel about Philip Rivers. I
got a lot of positive energy going for a protection bubble.
I've never wished and hoped for a five man in
front on the history. How good is Jonathan Taylor at
Chipping because he gonna need goods more havock.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Okay, the Seahawks defense getting Philip Rivers yeah, or Philip
Rivers is family that he's leaving.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Oh, the Seahawks defense because a lot of guys can
hit their incentives for sacks on the season. Hey, I
got my bonus. I got four sacks in the first
half against Rivers.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
I made it.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
My dad's not here, all right, we can all start.
Let's just talk like we normally talk. That blanken guy,
Come on, we have more coming up in ninety seconds,
but first special delivery. Steve de Seger has what's trending
in the wide world of sports. That's deep.

Speaker 8 (25:16):
Let's start with the NFL game tonight at Tampa Bay,
because the Bucks, who are now seven and seven, blew
eleite of twenty eight fourteen with ten minutes left and
lost to the Falcons twenty nine twenty eight on a
field goal on the final play, even though the Falcons
had nineteen penalties for over one hundred and twenty five yards,
and even though the Falcons record was four and nine.

(25:36):
Coming in Kyle Pitt's three touchdown receptions, he had eleven
catches one hundred and sixty six yards. Kirk Cousins threw
for three seventy three Vjon Robinson in victory one hundred
and seventy five total yards, one TV one fumble. Baker
Mayfield sacked five times and lost two touchdowns one interception.
The Bucks were tied for first in the NFC South

(25:58):
with Carolina. Tampa Bay plays two of its final three
games against the Panthers this season. It's a Falcons team
that had lost seven of eight, including a loss at
the Jets for crying out lot. Wide receiver Mike Evans
back for Tampa Bay tonight. He'd been out since October
with broken collarbone. Six catches one hundred and thirty two yards.
Wide receiver Drake London was out for a fourth straight

(26:19):
game for Atlanta with a spring knee. Tampa Bay, after
a six and two start this season, has lost five
of six. Steelers pass rusher TJ. Watt was hospitalized for
a lung injury, so his status for Monday night is
in question. Packers running back Josh Jacobs mispractice with a
knee injury.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
He says he's day to day.

Speaker 8 (26:38):
Bengals wide receiver T Higgins was limited in practice again
today after a concussion. Fired Michigan football coach Sharon Moore
is expected to be arraigned on Friday. He's a suspect
in an alleged assault. Indiana Hoosiers defensive end Stephen Daly
is likely out for the postseason after being injured in
the team's Big Ten title celebration. Was three in the

(27:00):
nation and tackles for loss. The first College Bowl game
is this Saturday night in La Boise State against Washington.
It will reportedly be the last LA Bowl. College football
playoffs starts a week from Friday. Four NBA games Tonight
the Lake Contest and no doubt or for Denver winning
at Sacramento one thirty six to one oh five. Nikola
Jokic thirty six points. New Orleans was three and twenty

(27:23):
two this season, but it ended a seven game losing
streak beating Portland won forty three to one twenty. Milwaukee
got a home win against Boston, won sixteen one oh one,
ending the Celtics five game winning streak. Kyle Kuzma thirty
one points, The Buck shot fifty eight percent from the floor,
and at Houston the Rockets now sixteen and six edge
the Clippers won fifteen to one thirteen. Golden State Steph

(27:46):
Curry is due to return Friday. He's missed five games
with a quad injury. Minnesota star Anthony Edwards is questionable
with a sore foot. Hornets guard Lamello Ball will miss
another game Friday with an ankle injury. Grizzly center Zach Eaedy,
with an ankle injury, will be reevaluated in about a month.
Memphis guard John Moran is questionable to return on Friday.

(28:06):
He's missed ten games with a calf injury. And the
NBA's tournaments semi finals and final. We are in Vegas
starting Saturday at the East New York against Orlando and
number one Oklahoma City against the Spurs. And college football
on FS one Tonight at number four Iowa State Cyclones
were down thirteen late first half and still beat Iowa

(28:26):
sixty six sixty two NHL wins for Colorado and Boston
for Minnesota and the Islanders. The Braves signed former Padres
closer Robert Swarez to a three year deal, and NASCAR
sold the anti trust lawsuit brought by two of its
race teams.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Beck you, thank you, Steve up So earlier today we
had a great human moment from Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow
turned twenty nine a day ago and got a lot
of questions today is press conference about this season now
that it looks like the Bengals are cooked. Big game
on Sunday, he had a big game against the Bills
through for four touchdowns, but a couple of picks and

(29:03):
had a chance. But now it's a lost season for them.
He was asked about his happiness level, and he talked
a lot like It's not just one question and answer.
He talked about how he's got some things going on
personally and his happiness level right now with playing quarterback
in the NFL isn't quite what you think it is.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
I want to keep doing this. I have to have
fun doing it. You know. I've been through a lot,
and if it's not fun, then what am I doing
it for. I'm not sure. I'm not sure there is
a singular moment or of time. It's just a reflection
reflection on a lot of things that I've done and
been through in my career. I think I've been through

(29:41):
more than most and it's certainly not easy on the
brain or the body. So let's trying to have I'm
doing it.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Again reflections of the way life used to be. Now
a lot of people have taken this and run with it.
That always going to be the next Andrew Lucky's going
to retire early. If that was the case, we wouldn't
know about it, you know. He also would I have
fought like hell to come back like he did from
this injury that was supposed to be season ending. You
don't go out and talk about it if you're thinking

(30:08):
of retiring, because you don't want to put that out there.
You don't know what it's going to be as far
as the Bengals want money back from you. Whatever it's
going to be, it's an Andrew Luck decision where someone
breaks it. And yes, I'm saying it. You're not talking
about it. What he's talking about is wanting out from Cincinnati,
and I get it right, Say, how many stories do
you need to hear about the Bengals franchise, how poorly

(30:29):
it's run, what they come up, how they come up
with on every end of year list, where the anonymous
survey where the players talk about the worst teams and
what they they're from childcare to training, table food, and
the Bengals coming in the bottom of so many of
these things, which is now you know, subject to a lawsuit. Right,
A big fight between the Players' Association and everybody else.

(30:50):
It's easy to see me see Joe Burrow going. I
have come back and put my body on the line
of a tough time staying healthy. It's the twenty eighth
ranked offensive line in the NFL, and maybe Sunday's loss
broke him to the point where, Okay, I gotta get
out of here. Now. We tried it here, I got paid,
but I gotta get out because if I'm gonna continue
to do this, I want to be happy. No doubt

(31:11):
in my mind, Joe Burrow is going to be on
a new team next year in the NFL. There's no
doubt that they will find a way and he will
be traded someplace else, whether he's got a hold out
or not to wait to get the deal. Because we've
seen the Bengals do this before. I watch Mike Brown
do with Carson Palmer. You're gonna sit out A wow,
I'm gonna ship you to the Raiders. The thing for
Joe Burrow is, does he sound like a guy that's

(31:32):
not gonna be okay with sitting out? Hey, I'm just
gonna stay healthy. I know how good am I'm twenty
nine years old. I'm in my prime. I got a
lot of money. You're gonna trade me eventually, and he's
going to get that trade. If the Bengals want to
play hardball, he will play hardball as well and they
will wind up trading him. But after this, this is
him firing that first salvo. This offseason. Stuff has to change.
The Bengals are failing and have failed. The one biggest thing.

(31:54):
Keep your quarterback happy, keep him up right, keep him healthy.
They tried to bring and I'm not saying they didn't,
they just ignored it. Hey, they gave money to Jamar Chase,
they give money to t Higgins. We're gonna keep our
guys around. But overall you can tell, hey, things are
not going well. You want to be happy coming into
work every day, and he doesn't. Not like a guy
that's happy coming into work every day. Well, generally that's
what everybody aspires to, right, five days a week, six

(32:16):
days a week, seven howeverbody did when you work, you
want to don't want to loathe the alarm clock and
walking in that front door. For Burrow, it's just, you know,
the competitive fire again, the fact that he battled back
from this injury to get back on the field, looms large.
So it's either the threat of hey, everything needs to change,
because what did they do with Hendrickson and sign him

(32:38):
long term? They gave more money for this year, he's
gonna walk. He's also hurt and hasn't been available for
what has been a here to form miserable miserable defense.
So it's either everything changes or you know, I've got
some destinations in mind. So what teams make the most
sense that can pull off a trade for him where
he would want to go. We got that coming up next,

(32:59):
as well as Big Final Thoughts meaning the Todd Bowl
sound bite on Thursday Night Football. That's next Jason and
Mike Fox Sports Radio.
