Speaker 1 (00:29):
Jets All Pro Safety, Carry Roads, Get Jets. We had
four chances to get it right, four chances. Carry Roads
is stayed awake an hour past his bedtime. That is correct,
but get that going for him?
Speaker 3 (00:42):
No, no, Jason, see how you do me? You guys,
we're excited when I got here at seven Now, Alex is.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Like, yeah, it's just carry Rhoads Roads. There you go,
thank Alex. Yeah carry what I mean? I'm glad he's awake.
Yeah I am. I am too, any filmy, I think
I'm more wig than all of you. Look in my eyes.
I think the coffee's got the coffee's winning. Oh wow. Yeah,
I think you're talking much faster than you did. Okay, Carrie,
(01:11):
you don't have to run in circles during the show.
Got lee. You can stand in place, Okay. He's like
Russell Wilson. I'm doing high knees at thirty thousand feet, man,
I'm ready to go rock go country. Let's right, mister, mister,
mister unlimited coffee just by the way. Because we spent
some time talking about this tonight, we said the Laker
points spread against the Thunder at twenty was very light
(01:33):
because the Lakers were playing without Lebron. You know, they're
playing without Luca and Austin Reeves already. We say, yeah,
maybe more in the thirties, and Breemi Euro Live bet
Bree said, hey, I would put it at thirty five.
The Thunder beat the Lakers tonight one twenty three to
eighty seven. They won by thirty six. So you were
(01:56):
right on Live, bet Brie. You should. I'm telling you
you should. You should go work in Vegas. That's fantastic.
Not that I don't love you here, but like that's
pretty good talent. Like I'm saying, hey, maybe thirty points.
You said thirty five, right, You were right.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Right in between Carrie optimistic. I don't know you were
saying like.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Fifty, yeah, somebody else said twenty. You said, come on,
let's cough it carry. You know what the hell he
was talking about? He said, he said, the Lakers are
going to have a gutting, They're gonna gun it out
tonight and they'll lose by twenty And I didn't happen
at all. No, I should have.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Said thirty five to thirty seven. I should have given
myself a louse.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, right on it. You were right on at thirty five.
You put it right on there on Yeah, because you
would have had to put it at a half. Oh,
you said thirty five and a half, which you were
right on it. You were right on. What was the
over under?
Speaker 4 (02:43):
Do we know that?
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Maybe the overall I think it was like one hundred
and seven and it was one hundred and six for
the thunder. No, I don't know if the over underway.
But you can't go back. You can't just say, oh
I would have put it this, No, No, just just
stick with the one you got, really claim it, claim it. Yeah,
twenty five okay, so two twenty five, one, twenty three
eighty and.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
It was twenty one. Yeah, so I would have I
would have taken the under.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Okay, you're right, Okay, they can told you. Nice job.
Nice job. Hang on one twenty three eighty seven. Ten, Hang on,
that's one hundred and that's one hundred and ten. That's
it's one hundred and ten. That's one hundred one twenty
three and eighty seven. I got I'm gonna I'm gonna
do this. Hang on, oh, one twenty three and eighty again.
(03:26):
I promised there would be no math the last hour
of the show. What are you doing? I promised there
would be no math.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Head, I don't know what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
That's too ten? That is two ten? How did you
get to how did you add one twenty three and
eighty seven? It come up with what the game was?
I'm sorry, you know, I'm sorry. I trusted you to
be right now. No, there's no way it's a one
three and seven is ten? I think it's okay. So
it was too ten, was the no? The total was
to twenty one?
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Then that was the over under.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
So now you're changing that to be the over under.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
It's it opened at two twenty five, which I'm now seeing,
and then the total was twenty one.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
So and how many points in the game you said?
You said something two ten, said yeah, okay, we can't
do math. And Matt math is math and spelling.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
There's no radio in math.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
There's no math in radio. Radio in math, there's good
there's no radio. Yeah that's what she said. Wow. So
in the last half hour, we've had Cedars cyanide, Yes,
we did. But we've had We've had by Shay, We've
had Breen now with with eighty seven is two twenty one.
We've also had her spell fail fal Yeah, we've had
(04:38):
all of those things as well. And we've had alex
tyshert curse on the show. Yes, so we've had all
of those things happen. I mean we had to do once,
we had somebody had to speak truth about your team.
We had all of those things happen. Also, we figured
out drugs are bad. Okay, okay, yeah, okay, yeah, yeah,
we're gonna walk away. People. Remember that show that Carrie
Rose did with Jason all the Iconic, It was a
(05:00):
lot of things going on every hour had his had
had his moment everything about it.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
He broke down the drug industry, how big Farma is
just creating people who addicted not healthy. We figured out
that Carrie Rose is more than just the Jets all time.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Safety also figured out Kerry said, Hey, when you go
to doctors, they're going to give you stuff to keep
them sick. Yes, like it's the sixth sense oxy cotton. Okay, okay, okay,
this stuff is discussing. This is wow, this is okay,
all right, all right, all right, this is this is
the the show, the FDA podcast coming up. I would
love to be the head of the FDA. Oh my, wow, wow,
(05:35):
oh golly, you were the head of the FDA.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
Well, I would love to be. What's the first thing
you would do easily? What outlaw all big pharma stuff?
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Okay? And then what no?
Speaker 5 (05:44):
Actually, and I would actually take away that freaking thing
that they have protection from vaccine side effects. They will
pay for their punishment and crimes. Okay for me, I'm
the blood thirsty head of the FDA. Yeah, I will
make it a big thing to buy back most of
the farmlands Bill Gates spots to make healthy food again,
okay for the people.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Okay, all right, Why I didn't think we'd get to
the Okay, all of Bill gates farmlands. He bought a lot. Okay,
all right, does he have anything else to do? I I, well,
we have money pilanthropists also, I got to do something
with it.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
The guy who made the freaking viruses for the computers
he sells were trusting him.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
He made the.
Speaker 5 (06:22):
Viruses for his computers, he made computers. It was like,
how do we make more money? Oh, I'll make viruses
for you to buy software for my own stuff geniuses.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah you think so.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
Of course, it's not going to push people to buy
other computers, Jason. Do you know Apple literally got sued
because their updates made old phones obsolete. So you buy
a new phone that literally happened.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Okay, here's as far as I'll go with that is that,
do we really need to have a new shape for
every new phone? So I have to go out and
buy the new protector? Rights like, you can make the
phone in the same shape, so I can keep my
old protector. But now you get me for twenty bucks
at that? Oh my god, look what I'm doing. How
about the yeah change every two years? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (06:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:00):
On headphones as well. I'm done with them. Okay, I
want to flip phone again? All right, no, fall flip
phones were fat I used to. I missed the block?
What is that? What do you Breece? Mike is still
off this? What Alex said, Oh my god, alex Is
on the one alex Is Hot tonight. Yeah, I'll tell
you remember that show, Jason carry Roads. Man, that's that's
(07:22):
like going to be like the Star Wars Holiday Special.
Oh there's no copies of it anymore. You can't find it.
Nobody knows. There's what happened to it? Man, It's going
to be the Mendela effect. That's what Oh never happened.
That should be a twenty segment. Yeah, now carry Road said, doctors,
did they keep you sick? Don't go to Wait, that's
not what he said. Trust what he said. What he said,
it's true. Did he say that? Did he say it?
(07:43):
Or did he not say it? Did he say Mendela effects? Yeah?
Nore did breed? Did spell fail? F A L?
Speaker 5 (07:49):
She?
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Did you go to college? She meant to say follow
la la la and just left there? Lah? Okay did
you really? Okay? Did you? I actually don't remember.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
It was like an hour ago.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
That was okay, okay, all right. There is no better
segue than to get to the Mike Rabel Diana Rossini
story than this right now? Oh I love this one. Yeah, yeah,
ty Shirt? Who could care less about sports? Now? This
is something like, oh my god, this is the greatest
story spot, so exciting. So the Patriots head coach and
athletic NFL insider people you both know. Obviously, you know
(08:23):
Mike Rabel his career with the Patriots, coaching the Titans
in the Super Bowl this year with the Patriots, and
Diana Rossini, former ESPN anchor and now athletic insider or
insider for the athletic for the National Football League. There
have been pictures posted online of the two of them
at a resort in Sedona. Now, Mike Rabel and Dana
(08:47):
Rossini have been married to different people and are married
to different people. Rabel since nineteen ninety nine, Dana Rossini
since twenty twenty. Now, these pictures that are out that
you see him, it's the Rabel's name is at the
top of every trending story on social media. Uh, there's
pictures of them sharing breakfast. They're lounging pool side next
to each other, embracing on a rooftop bungalow. Uh, these
(09:09):
are not great optics, you would say, these are not
super great optics. Now, both of them have weighed in
on these pictures saying that hey, these were they were
a part of a bigger group of people that Rabel
happened to be there with his with a couple of friends,
and Diana Rossini happened to be there with a couple
of friends. They met at this and they hung out
(09:30):
at the at the pool for a while, and then
they each went their separate ways with their their group
of people. However, eyewitness offer a conflicting accounts and they
say that hey, the top of the bungalow, only two
people can access there. The pictures aren't great, right, So
now knowing that there's two sides to this, and and
you know, Rassini covers the NFL, and here's and here's
Mike Rabel. Look, it's very salacious, especially since both of
(09:53):
them are married to other people. I think the thing
to say for it is this is to put this
in proper perspective. If this came out, if this was
say it was my wife or someone's husband, right that
you saw these pictures came out, Hey here's your wife
who was on to get away with a couple of
her friends, and here she is with Mike Rabel. Now,
(10:13):
first of all, I would say, you can't go with
the Patriots head coach the AFC East is off limits
to you. It's got to be in the NFC. It's
like a trade. You don't trade somebody within the division
within the conference, trade them outside of the conference. Right, Yeah,
it couldn't be somebody you couldn't go, like with someone
the Seahawks. You couldn't go with Todd Bowles. You couldn't go, No,
you had to go. You couldn't go with with Dan Campbell.
(10:34):
It's got to be the pay could you know how
I feel about the Patriots? So the first thing I
would say is that, but if it was my wife,
the first what I think is that, Okay, these pictures
do not look great and there needs to be more
of an explanation that this is something that can't just
be broadbrushed as hey it's laughable. No, these need to
be explained now privately. First, yes, and then because you're
(10:55):
addressing this publicly, what is it publicly? But right away
I think of both of them, spouses, their families. Okay,
what the hell is this? Because this does not look good?
So this is this is where the first part of
it needs to go. And the fact that they have
addressed this publicly, okay, So now you're talking about it publicly, okay,
now let's get to that. But privately, like I see this,
and I know anybody would see the same thing. They
(11:16):
would go, oh, these pictures they mean nothing. No, I
would kind of need an answer about this that. I
think that's the that's the fairest thing to say. Yeah,
one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I mean when it comes to family and uh, you know,
spouses being you know, thrown into the thrust of what's
happening as well in real time, that's always the big issue, right,
Like you want those people to be able to mend
defenses or make sure that the private life is is okay,
(11:44):
because that's really at the end of the day, that's
really what needs to be answered. And I think when
you see those pictures, they are they're bad, right, the
optics don't look good. You're holding hands, but you're holding
there's a double handhole thing going.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Double handle handhole. This is double handhole.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yeah, there's something there with that, even whatever that relationship is,
that would have to be addressed with the spouses for sure.
When it comes to us and when we look at it,
obviously the optics look bad. So when we see it,
it's like, oh, that's you need to pump the brakes
on that one, Mike. You can, you can kind of
feel that way. But I think at the end of
(12:19):
the day, man, as a society, we need to slow
down on our rights to judgment on these things because
we don't know the full story yet. And they could
be friends and the wives or the spouses couldn't know
that they were in the same area.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Who knows. We don't know that, so we need to
wait for that answer to be put out first. And
I and the part to take the other side of
it is that, Okay, usually you know when when people
are if you're cheating on a spouse, if you are
having an affair, discretion is usually what is always called for,
right you know, you wanted to get caught, man, you
want to get so discretion is called for it. Now,
(12:54):
this is a case of these are two pretty high
profile people. Now, Diana Rossini is well known in the
sports world, right, everybody knows she's had a great career,
you know, as an insider at anchor. But if Diana
Rossini is walking in a in a hotel in Sedona, Arizona,
I don't think the average person would recognize her. You
(13:16):
would have to know who she was. You have to
be a big sports fan to know this is Diana Rossini.
Now she was walking through a hotel at the super
Bowl or in a team hotel, she's covering a story.
Oh that's Diana Rossini because you're looking for you to
understand that. So Diana Rossini. I can see where people
wouldn't really know who she was. Mike Vrabel, people know
who he is. This guy was a you know, he
(13:37):
had the Patriots on a run to the super Bowl
that nobody saw coming. He's been a very public guy.
He's a big guy, and there's certain times where where
you see it. And I actually went through this last
week when we were in New York and we went
to New York Public Library and we wanted to show
we're seeing college as my daughter and everything, and my
wife and I are there with her and she's having
a great time. We go to the New York Public
(13:59):
Library and we go to the gift shop and Ben
Affleck is there and he's there with this kid, just
buying stuff like visiting the public library. He just kind
of do what we were doing. He was kind of
like there, I think, I don't if you look at
his schools, but he's going to Broadway plays and everything
is just having a vacation and so, but you can
tell when we saw Ben Affleck there, like everybody. You
could tell the electricity in the room was there. Everybody
(14:19):
knew Ben Affleck was there. Like Mike Vrabel is someone
that maybe it's not everybody, but when he walks into it, Oh,
there's going to be a handful of people that recognize
Mike Rabel because he is a very public figure. Again,
when you are the coach in the Super Bowl, people
know who you are, and people know from his career
as a player and then with the Titans and now
with the Patriots, and he's his pictures everywhere. Yeah, enough
(14:41):
people know are gonna know who he is. So if
you're there for some sign of kind of indiscretion, uh,
don't you understand the cameras are everywhere now and people
and he would he knows that, and everybody knows that
that they people are gonna know who you are more
than anything else.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yeah, No, I mean, of course, I mean big, big
hulking guy means six four six four sixty five. Big
guy still looks like he can go out there and
play a couple of snaps, like he still looks that way,
and obviously there's an aura he carries himself a little
bit differently as well, And so you would know that
even if you didn't know it was Mike Rabel, you'd
be like, he is somebody, like he has that energy
(15:20):
around him.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
So to put himself in that situation.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Uh, if they just happened to meet there by chance,
I don't you know, that doesn't seem too likely. Double
handhole is it's the tail the tailtale of all things,
as far as they definitely know each other and have
some type of relationship. But again, I just feel for
these guys and thinking that they have any privacy anyway
(15:47):
in this era, in this time, Like if you're not
trying to get caught, you shouldn't be in public holding hands,
like if you had any fear of being caught as well,
Like if you're trying to hide some transgression, it doesn't
even make It doesn't make sense that he was out
in public with their doing that if that was the case.
So I'm gonna reserve judgment on the fact that they
(16:08):
were on this romantic holiday sure, and I'm gonna say
that maybe they were in the same space and they
do know each other and they have some type of relationship.
We don't know what that is. So I'm gonna I'm
gonna just let it be in so I get all
the facts on that one. Jayson, Yeah, this is easily
not gonna be the last we hear of about exact
we're going. And they're gonna try to not comment on
it's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Nope, Nope, No, it's gonna it's gonna come out whatever
it is, it's gonna come out. If you already had
eyewitnesses talking about exactly, they're gonna continue to talk about it.
You know, there's probably more pictures, there's more stuff like
this is just the beginning of this story that broke
earlier tonight. Yep. Jason Smith Kerry roads in for Mike Harmon.
Coming up next, we got more from the NFL after
a story today, something that could really shake up the
(16:51):

This is my song, my buddy Liam. This Liam singing
the first verse. I'm singing the second verse here, Okay,
I know we got to here. Okay, hang on, Marty,
we remade. This is a popular song. And you don't
curse in this?
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Do you? All?
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Right?
Speaker 7 (18:06):
Now?
Speaker 1 (18:07):
You're coming in there, you're coming in maybe, yeah? Check
check mine though, make sure I think it's it's good.
It's good, yeah, Jason Man.
Speaker 8 (18:17):
At what point do you talk about Rex Ryan? What
part it comes in the next part? The next question
that yeah, thank you man.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
No, it was a popular song, and I was like,
all right, I'm just going to show you guys, like
a lot of my music is about inter like inner healing,
and it's a little bit different. By I was like,
I can do the popular stuff if you want me
to as well. So that was the reason for that
doing that song.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Nice, It sounds great. Do you like to know my
fairy carry Road song? What's your favorite carry Roads? Called? Look? Yeah?
Called the video too? Thank you? Wow? Okay, yeah man.
He just played that to make sure you're away. That's all.
Was that this all? Look? I perked up to my
eyes and he listen. Just just in case you're just
tuning in. Kerry told us at the very beginning of
(18:59):
the show he normally in bed by nine o'clock. Yeah,
nine o'clock. Doesn't remember the last thing. It was up
till eleven. Now it's ten thirty, so it's a full
hour and a half past his bedtime. Got a half
hour left in the show. I said, hey, play one
of the songs. I'll perk them up a little bit. No,
but your energy has been great and you sound great
on that said yeah, that song? Is that song? Special?
That songs.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
It does really well with streaming and Shazam, Like I
get all the stats from itself.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
People love that song.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Yeah, and right now, I mean, obviously, I think the
secret about that question that you asked me when the
last time I remember that I was up past eleven.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Obviously I haven't been up so I don't remember a lot.
But I'm not gonna remember this on either. I think
this is gonna be one of those days where I'm
just operating on like a autopilot, and you know, a
month from now, I'll just remember being with you at
a certain time, but not knowing exactly what the time is.
It's gonna be this whole. It's gonna be a problem.
It's gonna be a problem. Jason. Oh, okay, just so
(19:55):
you know, dude, we do a show to get exactly
You don't remember that show where no one could spell
or add? I don't remember did we do that? Really?
We do that? Remember?
Speaker 3 (20:05):
No, You've made it great though. This has been fun,
you guys. This spot's been amazing, and even like right now,
I'm not tired, so that's a good thing. You have
had a lot of coffee, really have had a lot
of coffee. Like I'm worried the amount of coffee that
you have had had it late Yeah, late late late,
And I'm not like an avid coffee drinker either, so
I might be up.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Huh. I think that's a title, late coffee. That's a
great late coffee, a great title for a song. Yeah,
it is late coffee, late coffee, tight shirt right down,
late coffee, late coffee, late late coffee, late coffee for
Kerry's next song. Yeah, huh, that's that's a great that's
a great are all of a sudden? Yeah, Patt and
Pat Way I get I get three percent of whatever
royalties you get, exactly, give you two and a half. Okay, coffee,
(20:47):
that's fine, and coffee coffee. It's like Kramer and Seidefeld
when he goes, we'll give him a million dollars in
a lifetime supply a coffee. Yeah, they bring him in,
We're going to give you a lifetime supply of coffee.
I'll take it.
Speaker 6 (21:00):
I know.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
All right. So now, because it is ten thirty and
we're talking about coffee, how about a hot take. So
we find out today that Fernando Mendoza is not going
to attend the NFL. Yeah to presume number one pick
in the draft by the Raiders is going to stay home,
says I want to experience this with my family. Not
the first player, not the last to want to do this. Okay,
(21:22):
I get it in a vacuum, all right, But after
the last week and a half, I'm going to bring
up what we talked about. Are we really sure that
the Raiders are going to take him number one overall?
Because you go back to his pro day where it
went well by all accounts, and then the next day
the Raiders signed Kirk Cousins to this incredibly over complicated contract.
(21:46):
He's a bridge guy. This should be hey, you're coming
in one year and this one. But now I get
with this contract situation with the Falcons. But you've come
in and you made it a five year, one hundred
and fifty million dollar deal in theory, he's never going
to see more than the first year or this ye
twenty million for this year. Why are you doing this
right while all of a sudden Kirk Cousin's coming in.
This is not a contract that you're signing your backup
(22:08):
quarterback for. Are we sure that Fernando Mendoza is gonna
be the number one pick now a week later, Because
if you're the Raiders, wouldn't you say, dude, we want
you here. Man, this is a big night for us.
We'll fly your whole family out man, you'll you'll be here, Matte.
We want you up on stage with the commissioner and
all this. We're gonna give you a huge call. You're
(22:28):
gonna get fifty million dollars guaranteed. We can spend thirty
grand to fly you and your family out here and
put you up and be here. So again, I say,
are we sure he's gonna be the number one pick?
Because Mendoza is the number one quarterback in a week
quarterback draft. And if you're the Raiders and you know that, hey,
we're probably gonna be picking up here again next year
(22:49):
because we're the Raiders. But like, would you rather say, hey,
I'll i'll let's that's we can wheedle this pick down
to the Jets who have been to every Fernando Mendoza game.
They love the guy, and we'll pick up a couple
of first we'll pick up another first round pick, we'll
pick up a third round pick, whatever it's gonna be,
and we'll take our shot with our next quarterback next
(23:09):
year unless kirk cousins play is great, in which case
then hey, you can stick with this contract and we're awesome.
We don't need somebody because Aaron Rodgers playing well at
forty two forty three, Kirk Cousins is thirty eight. We
that can work out for us like this. As you
said earlier in the show, there's a lot of smoke
now around this number one overall pick situation with Mendoza. Again,
(23:29):
two things now in the last week that I go, yeah,
are we sure Mendoz is getting drafted number one overall? Yeah,
it's a It's a great point, even now that I'm
hearing it in this last hour and actually after I've
consumed it for a little while and and just thought
about it on a different level. Yeah, I mean you're
right though, I mean they're expecting next.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Year's quarterback class to be better, and the Raiders are
historically picking high.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Teams are gonna be just are gonna be up there.
Raiders gonna be up the Cardinals are going to be
up there, you know what I mean. So the teams
you played for are gonna be up there. You could
have kept that one out, Jason.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
We were past that we got past that Arizona, Arizona,
the Jets are always at the top pick.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
No, but no, I mean that is a that is
a real thing.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
You get a quarterback and Kirk Cousins that obviously obviously
is a bridge guy, but younger than Aaron Rodgers. He's
still still playing. So you know, Kirk seems like he
wants to play a little bit more than more than
one more year, so you could see that being a
possibility as well until the next person comes. But yeah,
I mean, I think it's actually smart for these teams
(24:34):
to be a little bit selective with this number one
pick and not just taking a quarterback because he's the
best quarterback available at one. If they're if the if
the Jets are going to take him at that next
pick or whatever, then if that's if he if he's
that high on their board, then I would let them
have them.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
And in my mind, right right now, he's not changing.
We talked about it earlier.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
What I said, like that number one guy, that number
one quarter back needs to be a culture a culture improver,
a culture like person. So whatever when he steps in
the building, he's going to be a captain. We know
Fernando has that makeup, but the quality of play has
to be on par with that with that same sentiment
as well. And so I don't know if he's that guy.
(25:19):
And even when I've seen him, I've seen him play well.
He's played in big games obviously, just one of the
super the college the College.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Championship, passion title in Indiana, which is not easy to right. So, like,
we know he can play, but there was nothing about
his game besides his toughness and it's smart and it's
the timing of some of the throws and some of
the plays that he made. But if you watch him,
he doesn't jump jump off the screen athletically. His arm talent.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Isn't doesn't jump off the jump off jump off the
screen at you either, And so, like, what is his
biggest attribute?
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Is it going to be culture? Is it going to
be culture?
Speaker 3 (25:56):
And play? Is it going to be play? A lot
of those things don't take shape a take for him
until they're in the building anyway. And so I'm if
I'm a GM, I'm gonna be selective with that with
that number one pick, And I'm not just taking him
because he's the best quarterback in this draft.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Yeah, because if you were to trade the number one pick,
you're gonna have to worry about what the backlash is
going to be. And if you have the number one
pick and it's Andrew Luck and you want to trade it, boy,
what are you doing? Right? You have the number one
overall pick and it's Joe Burrow. What are you doing? Yes,
you have number one overall pick and it's f Nanda Mendoza.
I think enough time has gone by and you've seen
a lot of analysts and a lot of pundits who
(26:33):
have had time to look at the tape and break
it all down and go, yeah, he's the best, But
is he really that great? Is he gonna project to
be a Pro Bowl quarterback? Is he project to be
in league average starter? If that's the case, then we're
gonna go get get another bite at the apple next year.
So I think if the Raiders are gonna do this,
I don't see there being a big problem with it,
(26:54):
because you know all the Raiders, the Raider, They're not
gonna get sold taken a quarterback and then it's gonna
be all that. Yeah, they're gonna Whatever the Jets do
is always wrong. So I understand that, But like I
I can see the Raiders doing this, and I can
see it not being something where the Raiders get killed
every day for not taking for Nando Mendoza. Right, And
I'm at the point now where I'm kind of waiting
as we you know, now we're in the countdown of
(27:15):
the draft, right usually the day after the college championship
in basketball, it's like, okay, now we're NFL draft all
the way through a NFL draft while and I'm kind
of waiting for that Schefter story where it's it's kind
of it's kind of it's kind of phrasing a way
where it's, hey, the Raiders love for Nando Mendoza, but
(27:36):
they have a lot of needs and they are open
to potentially moving the number one overall pick to try
to gain draft picks to fill these needs. Likes. A
lot of it's gonna be in the packaging and how
you sell the story. And that's kind of what I'm
waiting for, because that's what I think how it'll go.
It's not gonna be where hey, the right, No, it's
gonna be Raiders have a lot of a lot of
holes to fill. Getting the draft picks. They can use
(27:58):
them this year, they can use them to move up
next year. If they want to move up for Arch
Manning or Dante Moore, whoever it is, you can do that.
But that's kind of what I think that's gonna be.
The next part of this is we're gonna get the whispers,
sources reporting Hey, maybe it's before Schefter, it's sources Raiders
might not be sold on Mendoza. And then you get
the shifter. Oh, they love them, but there's a lot
of holes off, Like that's what I'm waiting for.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Next, think about it. Where this I think where this
shift even happened. I'm sure this is around the same
timeline the failed mex Qusmi trade is huge because exactly
what you're saying at this point right now is we
know that the Raiders have a lot of needs. They
had two extra first round picks that would have been
(28:42):
in this year's draft, which then you take Fernando Mendoz
with that number one pick, because you have these other
buffers in that first round with those other picks that
it makes it kind of fail safe. But now it's
so much more importance on getting this pick right because
of the limited amount of access they have in at
early rounds as well.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Do you think they still hold on Crosby. Do you
think he winds up a Raider or do they find
a way to make a move for him right close
to the draft now now he's gonna stay a Raider.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Yeah, yeah, I mean with the injury, and I think
with with that being like a like a public concern. Now,
like if a team was a swing and it doesn't
work out with all that information out there, you'd be
kind of silly to be the one that took him
in that in that situation.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
Exit out by a Fresca exit carry twenty five roads.
That's where we're at right now. Now it's time to
find out what's trending in the wide world of sports.
From live bet Bream Euro who put that Lakers thunder
point spread right where it should have been at thirty
five and the Lakers nearly.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
Covered, nearly covered. Yeah, the thunder extended their wind streak
to six. Okay, see Curve stomped. The Lakers won twenty
three to eighty seven by thirty six points, which I
could have won millions and millions dollars and never seen
any of you guys ever. Ever, Again, that didn't not happened.
Kawhi Leonard scored thirty four points. I'm sorry carry as
(30:03):
the Clippers took down the Mavericks one sixteen to one
oh three. The Celtics defeated the Hornets one thirteen to
one oh two. Jalen Brown finished with thirty five points
and nine rebounds. The LaMelo Ball had a game high
thirty six points in the loss. The Bulls ended a
seven game skid to defeat the Wizards one twenty nine
to ninety eight, and the Warriors knocked off the Kings
(30:25):
one ten to one oh five. In Major League base
while the Giants have snapped a four game skid by
shutting out the Phillies six to zero. The Rockies beat
the Astros five to one, and the Mets have now
won four straight after they defeated the Diamondbacks in ten
innings four to three. The Orioles got a four to
two win over the White Sox, and the Guardians walked
it off against the Royals two to one. The Red
(30:46):
Sox snapped a three game skid to beat the Brewers
three to two, and the Yankees outscored the Athletics five
to three.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
It was a fun night.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
Thank you, guys.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Have a good one. Awesome, Thank you. Do you have
a bet force for tomorrow night? No, no, you don't.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Okay, Well, the Suns are actually oh well, the Sons
are playing the Mavericks.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Okay, so, and the.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
Suns are probably gonna lose to the Rockets.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Right now, there's sixty for Cooper flag tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
I would say thirty points for Cooper flag. Booker with
fifty though, wow.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Okay, so the over under for Cooper flag is thirty
and a half okay, and forty nine and a half
for Devin Booker.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
Okay, and over under on the whole game. Yeah, two
hundred and forty six and a half.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Okay, all right, that's forty six that yeaheah. I think
she just picked a number fifty. She just went she
just went two plus two plus two, the two.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Plus four plus six. I wait either, Oh good, okay, good,
I can't spell fail though.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
That great stuff tonight, Thank you so much. Coming up next,
you're gonna hear it the first big brawl of the
season in Major League Baseball, and boy was it odd
for one very specific reason. We get into that next
right here. Jason Smith Kerry roads in for Mike Carmon.
This is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
The Jason Smith Show with Kerry Rhodes all pro jet
safety in for Mike Harmon. Tonight, he sounds sexy ow
ow and uh boy, you know the first couple of
weeks major League baseball season, you going, well, the weather's
been cold. We got to wait for dwarm to get
a brawl. No, no, no, had a brawl tonight. Yeah. Uh,
(32:39):
one of the more entertaining baseball brawls because of one
very odd thing that happened during it. You really like
that part. Oh I can't get over it. I really
I can't get over it. It's like, you know, Jason Stark,
longtime baseball columnist who's been you know, covering the game
for better part of the last thirty years. Really smart dude,
and he always he says something that will always stick
(33:00):
with me when I think about baseball is that he goes,
you know, they've been playing and he told me this
like fifteen years ago. He goes, they've been playing baseball
for about one hundred and thirty years, right, And I said,
die Goes, and usually once a week you will still
say to this day you will say, boy, I've never
seen that before. And that's baseball, right, I mean you
think about all the other sports. Yeah, you see two
minute drills and football, you see big catches, you see
(33:22):
big things in basketballs. With baseball, I've never seen that before.
And you're like, you're right, I've never seen what happened
to the braw night before. Ever. So the brawl happens
between the Braves and the Angels after Ronaldo Lopez decides
I've had enough with Jorge Celaire. Now, Celaire came into
this game with a huge amount of success against Lopez
(33:43):
in his career. Homer's the first time up, and now
that Lopez had enough after that, so Lopez hits him
the next time. Okay gets it. Now he comes up
again and Solaire throws one that buzzes his head. Now
it's a weird thing because the play is still going
on when the brawl happened. So just to let you know,
(34:06):
this is what happens, Solaire, the ball just kind of
buzzes them, and this is what ensued. Just missed the
tag hit the dirt, all right clear. Going up to.
Speaker 9 (34:16):
Lopez, they square up Selario Lopez.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
I'm doing hay Bakers. They're going after each other.
Speaker 9 (34:23):
Solari's finally tackles from behind as the Angels and Braves
are all out onto the field.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
That came up out of nowhere.
Speaker 10 (34:33):
Solaria was upset after a couple of pitches, were.
Speaker 6 (34:37):
High and in.
Speaker 10 (34:38):
After I had yet another home or off load pass,
had a fight.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Bro count just time up to the air Bally TV
had to play it back again because the guy. The
guy kind of gave a little bit of cal Stanford.
All the band is out of the field, like he says, Oh,
they're out on the field playing one more time. Just
missed the tag hit the dirt.
Speaker 7 (34:58):
All the band is out of the field, is like
it comes clear. Going up to Lompez, they square up
so best. I'm doing hay bakers. They're going after each other.
Speaker 9 (35:08):
Solari's finally tackles from behind as the Angels and Braves
are all out onto the field.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
All they're on the.
Speaker 9 (35:15):
Band on the field that came up down of nowhere.
Speaker 10 (35:19):
Solaria was upset after a couple of pitches, We're high
and in after he got to yet another homer off
hood pass had a fight.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
Bro cut just time up to the air, both out
of thin air.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Do you see how the side of the crowd was though,
It was like very subdued the whole time, and then
all of a sudden that's a well.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
The thing is is like he throws he throws the
ball by Solaire's head and it gets by the catcher
and the runner at first goes down to second, so
they try to get him. They just miss him down
at second cause the ball bounces back and they just
miss him at second. And so this is why they're
talking about the play going on. The play down at second.
Oh wait a minute, because Lopez and Soelia kind of
staring at each other and there's a little bit of
(35:58):
bowing up where Lopez puts his arms out and he's
holding onto the baseball in one hand that he got
back and he's like, what do you want? And Selaire
comes out of him and again they're throwing haymakers at
each other, and that's just like wow, Like you see solariity.
He throws three or four punch I think one connects.
Lopez kind of backs up a little bit. Yeah, Pitchers
always kind of back up a bit. But the part
(36:19):
that that that gets me about this, I've never seen
this is that Lopez holds onto the baseball throughout the
entire thing. Like this is benches empty, people are running
out from the from the from the bullpens and everything else.
And it's not like he's using it like I'm gonna
throw it at you like like most people. I got him.
I'm a pitcher and I'm gonna throw it at you like.
(36:39):
He's just holding onto the ball the entire time and
it ends and he's still standing there holding under the
base ball. I've never seen that before. I'm hold onto
the ball all the way through. In fact, if you
read the Associated Press recap of it, I think maybe
they were listening to us, because we talked about this
right after it happened, and you know, they give the
recap of it, and this is you know, Lopez and
(37:00):
Sola were rejected after a brawl. At first, Lopez held
his hands up as the two glared at each other.
The benches emptied as players from both teams tried to
separate the two. Next paragraph, Lopez was holding the baseball
when he landed a punch on Celaire's batting element want
to make sure he was holding the baseball throughout the
entire time. I've never seen that. It's a new tactic.
(37:20):
You didn't you did You didn't get the email. No,
I did not know that.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
In the next fight, if you're the picture, if you,
if you, if you, if you're the opposing pitcher and
somebody's coming up to accost you, you keep your instrument
in your hand for self defense.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
It was it was an email. It was an email
emails that, Yeah, I didn't know that you saved the
ball for selfe. Yeah, I knew this was happening.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
See the fact that you're so excited about it, and
you're like this this You're never going to forget this
moment ever. And I'm not either. But I got the email, Jason.
You didn't get You got left out.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
I did not get it. Now. The thing is, like,
I figure you would get hurt because if you punched
someone out with the ball, you're gonna break a finger. Yes,
if you're a pitcher, you're out for a while. Like
and I was. You want you want a great bral story,
the best story I've ever heard. Rob Dibble told me
this story, and I'll know, this is amazing. Story. He
got into a brawl once a pitching for the Reds
with the Astros, and he threw it out and you know,
(38:13):
Rob Dibble did that throughout his career, you know, he
was he was that guy, yea. And there was a
big brawl after and during the brawl he lost his
glove and I think it was he told me it
was Bagwell, Jeff Bagwell mate. But somebody he was friends
with on the Astros said that after the brawl was over,
there all so mad. They knew it was his glove.
They grabbed it and they all cut pieces off that
(38:34):
and gave it to each other on the team. And
Dibble's like, that's my glove forever. Because you know baseball players,
you know their glove. It's very superstitious. And he was
so mad. He's I can't tell you how mad I
was because they took my glove and they cut it up.
They were so mad. So the next time he goes,
the next time I pitch, I know what's gonna happen.
And he goes, and you can see the video of it,
is that he throws you know, chin music to somebody.
(38:57):
He knows it was going to be a bro He
goes and you could see me. I turn and I
take my glove and I throw it into our dugout
so nobody can get it. And the play by playing
out just says Rob Divil and he's thrown his glove
into the into his dugout and it looks like there's
gonna be a brawl, and he goes. I threw it
in because I didn't want them to get it, and
I knew that they did it the first time. So
I took my glove and you can see because this
(39:19):
video of me, I just turned and I throw it
into the dugout because it'll be safe there. No one's
gonna grab it. And then there was a brawl that
was Rob Devil. Now that would have been something that
was very memorable.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
The fact that you actually had the acumen the whereabout
to know that this happened to me once before and
I'm not going to let it happen again to safety.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Yeah, I got to keep that big time. I already
lost one Glove's not gonna lose to absolutely. So now
I got asked we started with this. We call it
a button in the entertainment sports industry. U you had
said you go to bed at nine o'clock every night. Yep,
you don't remember the last time we're up until eleven?
Here you are. You've made it till eleven o'clock. It's
like it's like a kid making up till midnight on
New Year's Eve.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Congratulations, we still five minutes and thirty eight seconds before
I make it to You're gonna be okay.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
Driving home, You're gonna be okay.
Speaker 8 (40:06):
I'm gonna have to call it uber okay. Times you
used to drive for lift, you can take you home.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Oh, I'll take it. Take me home. There, there we go,
all right, I'll get there safely. All right, Exit out
out a fresh and carry great stuff man again. Coming
up next, my buddy Ben Mallard. This is Fox Sports Radio.
