you this, Mike Harmon. Yeah, I mean we are a
we are a sports show, all right, sports show.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Right, We're a sports show.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
But I really part of me wants to do the
entire show on this Detroit, this local news Detroit. Uh,
a crazy ass local news with a talent, yelling at
the producer, I really could do the whole show on that,
I really will.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
I well, we have that, or we could do the
Penn State cocaine bust. Oh well yeah, I think those
two stories give myself four hours of chaos.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Yeah, no, that is true. We can do that as well. Yeah,
I feel that we're kind of really in TMZ territory
if we do that.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Not that's an awful place to be. But I mean
like that, I feel like, okay, you know, no.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I'd feel dirty for the rest of the night, like,
and then I'd be in the shower for hours. That's
not kid.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Would you really feel dirty? How dirty? Would you really
feel it? Would you really feel dirty?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Really felt No? I mean, look, we've got you and
I have been in this business a long time. There
there are animated discussions. I see Ty Shirt nodding his
head between on air and production with some shall I say, regularity,
not to this level of chaos and uh and to

(02:09):
where you figure you're gonna start, you know, throwing cards
like you were gambit.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Yeah, take that.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
But but then you have this other story with the
Penn State trafficking ring. It's like you've heard a lot
about college campuses and different malfeasance usually administrative and people
pocketing money and stuff. No, no, no, Here we get
into the fraternity system, which I really haven't heard about
fraternities other than whenever we commemorate an anniversary of Revenge

(02:37):
of the Nerds.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah, yeah, the the yeah, the tried, Delt's and the.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Accepted, or we're watching Old School. I mean, that's about
all we got. Otherwise, it's kind of a thing that
just kind of sits latent and then it pops up
in a big way like this.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
I do want to say this.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
It is technically an off campus situation involving sure, it
is an off like a drop we run here on
the show on camera. This is an off campus story,
just to be to be clear, it's off campus.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Well, but if it's still going through the fraternity houses.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
I wonder if legally there's a thing there, like, but
it's off campus, all right. Technically, after this house it
is off campus.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
It is off well that's just it who owns the
property up until this line.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
But there is a great amount of seaminess and craziness
we can get to and and two big stories in
that vein off the bat number one. If you haven't
seen it yet, if you have what. We'll get to
the we'll get to the Detroit News thing if you
haven't seen it yet. Becky Hammond getting tossed just a
few minutes ago in the first half of the Vegas

(03:46):
Aces game against the Dream They're down fifty two to
forty one. She got pissed about a call and she
went right onto the floor, right into the official's face.
The official tries to walk away, Becky Hammond won't let her.
She gets a double T and just walks off the floor.
There's no I need to be escorted off to no
I know, I got the double T.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
I am leaving.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
I am high five in the fans that that ejection
was incredibly impressive from Becky Hammond.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
It really was.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
This was right out on the floor and she, you know,
was like it's like in the WWE when when at
the end of a match like like uh like like
there's a turncoat situation and and and two bad guys
are beating up the one the one good guy, and
and Gorilla Monson revers announcing going, oh my goodness, will
nobody come to the aid of hill Billy Jim or
whoever it is well, And then suddenly one of one

(04:33):
of the wrestlers comes flying out of the out of
the locker room and cleans house and then you know
a tag team rif where he was born. Like that
was how fast Becky Hammond got on the floor like
she was coming out of the locker room. Oh, somebody
in the ring needs my help, that's how fast she
was on there, arguing that that was incredibly impressive.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yeah, shot out of a cannon. Four point damn five
minutes left in the second quarter, and all right, what's
the backstory, what's the relationship with this refereeing crew to
where you were in that incense? You get down on
the baseline, you're pumping your fist, you're throwing like you're
throwing haymakers, and you get yourself tossed. I do like

(05:12):
the apparel of one of the of both the assistants
with the suit coat and the red hoodie yacht underneath it.
So that makes for a nice ominous look too. I
mean they were gonna perform some kind of ceremony around
the game too.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Now, I said, I do want to say this, I mean,
maybe Becky Hammon got tossed because she doesn't have a
one a. I mean, may if she had a one A.
Maybe she and I love the fact that I could
run this line despite the fact she's got Asia Wilson
has been the best player of the w for the
past six years. But if you had a one A,
maybe you wouldn't get thrown out. Maybe the officials walked
by after a play and said Jaylen Brunson would have
made that. Jaylen Brunson would have made that. Okay, enough,

(05:48):
I'm coming out after you. Maybe if you have a
one A, maybe you don't get tossed.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
I mean maybe, no as Look, they have the big
announcement of Frozen three coming out. Dude, you gotta let
it go. Becky Hammon, not personally attack you or your
family or you're on What's.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
The most famous thing Becky Hammond's ever done? This with
Jalen bruns It's the most famous thing she's ever done,
the most famous. This is what's the first line of
her Wikipedia page. Becky Hammond, who was in w NBA
champion coach, also coached his assistant coach in the NBA
with the San Antonio Spurs. Most famous for not giving
Jalen Brunson any credit on his way to and after

(06:26):
he won the NBA Finals that's the first line.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Man, did you do you give you your editing privileges back?
Because I thought those were revoked for a while.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
I mean, I'm just saying, man, that's gonna be the
first line there. That's the twict.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
On headline. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yeah, if you had a one a, if you I
love it, But I have Agiebell daff you had a
one A, I mean, maybe you.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Know, proof history wrong, prove history wrong.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
You know, bye bye by winning. Maybe that could happen.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Hey, what concerts are in the area there in Vegas tonight?
I don't know. And then she is at the end
of the back Street Boys summer run. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
It could be bes it could be Benson Boone.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
And I only say that because Benson Boone wasn't concert
in l A last week and Steve Disager had no
idea who Benson Boone was. So that's why it could
be Benson Boone.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
It could be fault him for that.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
It could be George George Benson, that would be pretty cool.
It could be Robert Geoman the cast of Benson.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
What was that guy's name, Renee Renee?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
It could be Chris Benson, former MLB pitcher.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
It could be Benson and Hedges could be talking a
pack of cigarettes on stage. I could be what it is.
Uh So with that happening right now in the w
I mean, if you get have a chance to see it,
it is a great ejection, it is earned, It is awesome.
And now after the game you can ask Becky Hammond, hey, do.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
You really think you sold the knick?

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Short?

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
The other great basketball story that shows no sign and
ending and it's awesome is that the Lakers sale and
the drama and the Bus family and the Bus siblings
continues to be the gift that's going to give, Like
when Barney on The Simpsons keeps burping and coins are
coming out of his mouth. Hey, this guy's paying off today.

(08:12):
The Bus siblings, in response to the story a day
ago in which they agreed to sell the remainder of
their shares and the Lakers to their new owners right
Josh Kushner and Bob Eiger, Genie Bus not happy with this,
said she voted against the sale and is contemplating looking
into legally stopping this from happening.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Now.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Today, the Bus siblings, the rest of them, who Genie
all helped push out of the Lakers, trying to get
their final bit of revenge on her, have said, yeah,
we are united in selling our shares. They say legally
they can do this because of the provision that was
put in the contract when the Lakers were sold the
second time. So yesterday you get Genie Bus saying no,
I'm fighting this. Today you get the Bus sibling saying nope,

(08:54):
we all want out blank me no, blank you like
this story. I want more this story because it's so interesting.
I really want more of this. But instead, I'm gonna
choose kindness and I'm gonna choose love, and I'm gonna
choose happiness, and I'm gonna choose advice Mike Carmon, because
that's the kind of guy I am.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
You're choosing love, yes, all right, well yeah, but the
rest of the statement, right, we intend to move forward thoughtfully, respectfully,
and through the appropriate process. And then there's the tag
saying that when the ten billion dollars sale to Walter
went down, they felt like they'd been misled and misdirected
by Genie. Hence, less than a year later, revenge revenge.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Like this, This is the part of the story that
I really love. We said it yesterday, we can double
down on it today. Genie Buss has to give this up.
All she's doing is making the Bus family look more
like clowns. Right Initially, right now, you see the Bus
family go, boy, they all look like they have clown
paint on. They have some clown paint here, clapp But
the more this goes on, the more clown paint, the
more big shoes they're wearing, the more big hats they're wearrying,

(10:01):
the more that jump out of the volkswagon, You're just
making the family look more clownish and more cartoonish. Yes,
it is a real life succession, which is something you've
heard a million times. It's Geenie Bush pushing her her
siblings out, the siblings with the final the final vote going,
oh we throw the final haymaker. Now we're selling and
you're out as governor of the Lakers, right like. All

(10:21):
you're doing is postponing the inevitable and embarrassing the legacy
that you and your family have had for the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Right.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
So he said it yesterday. Genie Buss just has to
give this up. You're not gonnaccomplish anything. And the main
thing I would say to her is that what do
you think is gonna happen at the end of this.
Do you think there's gonna be some way you're gonna
stay on and run the Lakers for another three four years.
That's not happening. Man. They've She's already had meetings with
Bob Iger about this. There's no way Josh Kusher and

(10:48):
Bob I are gonna say, oh, we want more of this.
Let's leave Genie on running the team for the next
three years while this fight where their siblings keeps going. No,
Genie is out. She is out. She is not gonna
run the Lakers anymore. There's no way after this that
it's going to happen. She just needs to leave. And
I'm sorry if this is not on you know, the
way she wanted to go, but they decided to sell

(11:08):
the team. She decided to sell the team. So now
you don't get to call the shots anymore. It's kind
of how it goes. So after this, do you really
think they're gonna say, oh, yeah, Genie, that's great. You're
you're you know, postponing this with your brothers and sisters. Yeah,
you can still run the team. No, you're out. It's
gonna end this way anyway for you. So at least
walk away and save whatever face you can save. You
can't save a lot of your face. You can't even

(11:30):
save half your face, like two face in Batman. You
can save maybe a quarter of your face. Maybe the
little bit that the Phantom of the Opera doesn't have
covering his face. Maybe that's the lead, tiniest bit that
you can say. But at least save that kind of face.
Sing to me, my angel of music. You know, I
just got a friend suggestion. That was Genie Bush.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
You think it's a real Genie Bus.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah it is, I veted it.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Yeah, okay, so wait Genie Buss just friend request.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
No no, no, no no. It was one of those hey
suggested people you may know, you should you should fet you.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Oh so now you now you know your computer's listening
to you.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Evidently, Yeah, the walls have ears. We do follow each
other in the Twitter verse. So I would send this
segment with the you know, appropriate underlying music to just
you know, say hey, it's time, right, it's the seventeen
point eight percent represents another two billions, So we've talked
about it yesterday with Steve Disager. You've got a couple

(12:27):
of the siblings are part of the new ownership group
of the San Diego Padres, so no doubt, h they
want their human monies to be able to execute whatever
the plan of succession and moving on and building a
roster there uh and franchise overhaul looks like. But here
it's they they needed to do the Genie, Jamie and

(12:52):
Joey Buss. That's what Genie Bus is contesting in the ruling.
Is it just hanging on because now you're realizing the
identity separation from what the Lakers has been for your
life like that, that's something you've been grappling with for
a long time, right since twenty thirteen when doctor Buss
passed away. The inevitability that you were going to have

(13:13):
this moment that there was a fracture between the six,
that they weren't never going to be on the same page,
and it could lay dormant for a while, but eventually
it was going to come to bear. And here we
are that you're at a moment where you've got Iiger,
who was quoted last week with the cold business practicality
of it's like, well, that's the deal, until it's not

(13:36):
the deal. In terms of Genie Buss's involvement and status
as governor, which was originally supposed to beat till twenty thirty,
Well that got accelerated in a hurry, and now you're
going to try to drag this out in the courts.
You may get your ruling in your favor, but to
what end? To what end? I mean, you'll still have

(13:59):
a seat, but you're not going to have these seat
in terms of any of the ownership group. If you
were to win that and you're now persona non grado
around the organization, you're an empty suit in all of it.
So why why continue to fight it? Take your millions,
Go figure out what the next iteration of growth is,

(14:22):
what the next go go team with people to buy
the Vegas franchise, and then battle battle to your former squad.
I don't know, It's it's just a it's a difficult
look and it just keeps getting worse by the day,
with more court filings and more statements that are just
hamhandedly written on the back of a notebook page that

(14:43):
you're ripped out.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
I mean, I can't even tell you what the win
is here. You're not gonna win. You're not going to win.
No one wins except except everybody who likes to make
fun of the Bus Family and the and the what
they did to the Lakers over the course of the
past fifteen years. Like just no when does Sometimes you
can't walk away at the top. And that's what people
don't understand that when you've been done something like this

(15:06):
for so long, big business, in sports, whatever, you do
something creative like this for a living, that everybody gets
to walk away like Michael Jordan the first time, not
the last time, but the first time, where you know,
swiping down Brian Russell and hitting a jumper and walking
off the corn an NBA champion right John Elway walking
off the field holding the Lombardi Trophy for the final time.
Everybody wants to walk away at the top, but you can't.

(15:27):
Sometimes you just have to walk away at the point
closest to the top that you're going to get.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
And while it looks it's a.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Far away to the top right now for the Bus Family,
like any the longer they keep doing this, it's just
gonna be further away until if we can't even see
the top. So I mean, really, this should be where
they just have to get There are no winners here,
no one is going to win. It's time to just
let this go. Sell the team, make your money, go
do it. Go buy a WNBA team if you want,
go buy an MLS team, Go buy a Major League Baseball.

(15:55):
Whatever you do with all this money, go do something
else with it. But this Lakers, this has to.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
Finish by the angels. It has to be over. Oh yeah, yeah,
I'm sure you can call by the age one hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
There you go, There you go, and hey, bring your
brothers and sisters back in in all of you by
the Angel so we can have you all running things again.
That's what I want to see. There we go, exit.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
How about the PRESCA exit swollen Dome.

Speaker 1 (16:17):

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Well, I will tell you this.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Mike, in the pantheon of radio game ideas that I
have had in my career, I mean, obviously, look the
Magic Johnson Twitter game.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
That's my dark side of the Moon. No, I mean
that's that. I mean it's hard.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
I don't know that this game that I've just got
an idea for that we're gonna play in twenty minutes
isn't every bit as good as the Magic Johnson Twitter game.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Really.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
The thing that's a bold statement game is we can
only play at a certain number of times, Okay, right,
like Steve Desager show hands show hands here, Uh, you
know the game we're gonna play on the scale of
comparing it to the Magic Johnson Twitter Game. Where how
does it compare to you? Oh, Steve, you give me
the thumbs up. Just oh, every bit is good as

(18:52):
the Magic Johnson Twitter game.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
All right, all that gets me excited. There you go.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
It's a I got it like. But like I said,
we can only do it so many time. It's not
like the magic we got when Magic tweets we can
play it. We can only do this so many times.
I got a feeling we're gonna do it a few
times tonight. I guess gotta feel.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Okay, let's lock and load.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
So I mean we got all kinds, I mean, all
the stuff I'm looking for.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
We got that game, We got the Detroit News local
news thing coming up in a half hour.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Man.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
But today the Dallas Cowboys New Orleans Saints literally had
a WWE style brawl during their joint practice. There were
punches thrown, there were helmets thrown everywhere, and at one point,
SATs tight end brock reck Steiner, who is son of
w W Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, who Harmon probably
has rookie cards of collar if you hear me, grabbed

(19:38):
a Cowboys player bodies slammed him to the ground. It
all happened after a Cowboys player punched reich Steiner. Then
they got yanked around by the face mask. And you know,
as these things happen in joint practices, it got so
heated they had to talk about whether or not they
could continue having this joint practice, like it was absolutely crazy. Now,

(19:59):
this is kind of a Ladder Day phenomenon in the
past ten years, where the more intensive joint practices have
replaced reps in preseason games where they can control the
action more. You can control big players getting hit more,
You control the quarterback getting hit, which is the number
one thing, right you control you don't have to worry
about special teams as much. So all of these joint practices,

(20:21):
the teams get replaced that. But when you talk about
the heat, as each summer it gets hotter, there's more
than one joint practice. Teams get together for a couple
of days, like we get this all the time now,
and this with multiple skirmishes breaking out between the Saints
and the Cowboys, Like I can't believe we don't have
it more often than we do, like something like.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
This, Now this was gold. But you know, don't often
have the son of a former champion and grappler at
the University of Michigan like Scott Steiner here Rick Steiner,
who's already suspended by the way, Yeah, you know quietly
in the background, is he's already serving a six game
suspension for reasons. We have no idea. It's not been disclosed.

(21:03):
So the fact that he germans soup like somebody and
you know, damn well, everybody knows who he is, Like, yeah,
we were waiting how long to see it? Who won
the bet? As to when that was coming out of
the bag, to what he'd go to the old Greco
Roman style wrestling.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
That's awesome stuff.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Yeah, Short Fuse Man, Short Fuse. That has long been
the reputation of the family in and out of the
ring and certainly on display here. Just want to.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Announce that Steven and I go to be at the
next WrestleMania taking part. I'm gonna wear the big Andre
the giant onesie, but I don't get touched. I'm the
one in the ring and Steven jumps in and we're
going to wrestle against the Johnson guy that owns.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
The Jets and one of the Marris.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
So that's gonna be the next big because we've shown
that we can do it here WWE style with the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
It's just unbelievable. Yeah, but I mean, look, two teams
scrapping in in the throws of training camp. Like I know,
I landed here in Boise the in car Dash said
it was ninety eight degrees so across his great land.
A lot of heat issues. And we know what happens
when you get a little bit of short, short tempered

(22:16):
in the middle of these hot practices. We've seen it
for years.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
I tell you I can perform a supplex.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
I can't pick anybody up, but if you kind of
put the wires between him, I can make it look
like I'm picking him up. And now maybe I'll just
come in as the Emperor and It'll look like I'll
have that fake let and coming out of my fingers
and that's what's gonna send you guy, And then Steven
can pin him and we win, and you know, and
of course we're going to be in cowboys colors. So there,
Well that is a pretty good move.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
We You know, I showed you the clip of the
guy that wrestles on the indie circuit as Jesus. Oh yeah, yeah,
and he just flips guys around him.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Oh sure, I mean that's awesome. I need to see
that guy russelled Danhausen. I want to see what works
there like that you want to talk about, Hey, that's
Yin and Yang. That's okay. We got someone that can
cur people and then and then wrestling against Jesus.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
That's pretty long to see that man.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah, when we referenced him yesterday, very briefly, we forgot
to acknowledge Dan Housen's birthday, Happy birthday, Housing.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Happy birthday Housing and Dana. So with this going on here,
this is perfect because I'll give you two big bold predictions,
one for each of these teams.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Okay, and let's go with this.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Let let's let let's lead up to the Cowboys because
that's gonna be the big one. I'll give you the
Saints right here. Saints are gonna win the NFC South. Okay,
everybody is sleeping on them. Last year they finished well.
Their division is really weak. They have the offense for it.
Tyler Shuck was pretty good last year. Like you want
to take a look back and go, hey, and and

(23:43):
I don't I get that a lot of people didn't
get to see him. Maybe he didn't get to see
him as much as you want. It's New Orleans. They
were bad, but Tyler. Shuck is pretty good and he's
got a couple of big weapons there. You just had
a love signed the big contract extension. He is a
real sleeper. The running back room is better, and and
this is a really bad division where I can't see anything.
The Falcons are absolutely awful, right who knows what the

(24:05):
Panthers are going to be. The Bucks might wind up
being a team that takes a step back, like nine
or ten wins, could wind up winning the NFC South
and the Saints. The Saints can score enough points, I
am more. I am more convinced their offense is the
best unit in that division where they can really rise
up this year and really show you that, hey, we
have the next level to us, because I'm telling you

(24:27):
I like Shuck a lot more than other people do.
And I think the Saints are going to have a
big year. It's going to be and again, big being
nine or ten wins. I'm not saying they're fourteen wins,
but that's what you need to win the NFC South.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Well, that cash is a ticket with two games to
spare because it's seven and a half for their over under.
They are second in Division Tampa plus one seventy New
Orleans plus two to seventy Carolina third Atlanta bringing up
the rear at four to one. When you look at
their roster, the big question how quickly do you get
Tyson back. He's out with a hamstring injury. Could miss

(24:59):
his much just two months, maybe longer because we know
how the hammy recovery process goes. And Olave left the
field today, So a little bit of hand ringing going
on in Saints camp, even when they're not fighting. They
did bring in that tend to go with Alvin Kamara,
who's back for another run. As you mentioned, they've got
a couple of guys in Miller, est may and ty

(25:19):
Chandler that are there in camp with them whether they
stick or not. But Tyler Schuck was a guy that
got dismissed by many doing the old agism thing as
opposed to the Wow He's got a lot of college
experience and played really well finishing up at Louisville, and
you look at the second half of his season, he
was sound so other than Baker Mayfield and the giant

(25:42):
chip on his shoulder that he says he's playing with.
And we've talked about him in the past of you know,
you wonder if there isn't some motivation in terms of
what they offered him. Now, I don't know that giving
a guy a two year, one hundred million dollar deal
should on any level ever be considered insulting, but in
this case, for Baker Mayfield, it was so hopefully that

(26:03):
fuels him onto greatness. So I think far and away
they're the two best teams, unless Carolina suddenly has Jonathan
Brooks running around like his hairs on fire.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Now, now, a lot of they did come back to practice.
He did leave go to the medical ten, so he
did come back and finish the joint practice. But still
I get your point. He has missed a lot of games.
They gave him a lot of money. But if this,
you know, injuries, you can't really think about how, oh
it's gonna be this, It's gonna be this. But I
still like the Saints in the NFC South, the NFC East.
The Cowboys are gonna win the NFC East. Okay, who

(26:35):
knows what the Giants are. They're gonna have enough trouble
just keeping Jackson Dart and camp Scataboo on the field.
John Harball's got his hands full with everything going on there.
The Commanders, boy, they could be in for a really
bad year. This does not look like a year that's
starting out well for them. The Eagles lost a lot,
especially defensively, and the Cowboys, you know how good they

(26:55):
are offensively another year in this system and defensively the
moves that they had made to get better in the offseason.
All you gotta do is have a competent defense in Dallas,
and you're gonna win a ton of games. You're gonna
win games thirty five to twenty one, doesn't matter. You're
not gonna lose thirty eight thirty five. You'll now win
thirty five to twenty one. The Cowboys improve the most

(27:15):
from last year to this year just by making their
defense what looks to be an hopeful league average defense.
That's going to be enough, because offensively, this is one
of the top three offenses in the game. They're all firing,
They're all firing on all cylinders. Everybody's familiar with the offense.
They did a great job keeping them back. People are
sleeping on the Cowboys with no expectations this year.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
No expectation Dallas Cowboys right now, I expectation Dallas Cowboys
know they never seem to live up to it, but
no expectation cowboys from anywhere.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
I love this. I love the Cowboys to win the
nfcas betting odds.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Sitting here plus one seventy Philadelphia Cowboys plus two twenty
five Commanders taking some action at plus four to seventy five,
and then whatever you get out of the Giants, they're
plus six hundred. A lot of hope for Jim, for
John Harbaugh should say, I'm not sure who's actually gonna
stay on the field for them, but we've got more
on that as the show goes on. For the Cowboys,

(28:08):
you had Dak calling it the greatest offense there is,
Pickens Lamb. He talked about whether you get anything out
of Turpin and Mingo and Camden Brown comes in. He's
shown in their first preseason game. Ferguson's still a strong
tight end. And you have Jaden Blue to go with
Javonte Williams that they added. I don't know, I like

(28:29):
what you have set up offensively. Defensively, You've added so
many pieces including you know, the latest future Hall of
Famer Von Miller. I don't know what he does, but
it look good in the Cowboys uniform. Sure, and the.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Fact telling it.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Look, he had nine sacks, Like it's not like von
Miller's terrific, but he's still nine sacks last year. I
mean that would have led the Jets by like four sacks.
Yet still he's still someone that's gonna come in leadership,
what the defense. That's a great signing. It's gonna be
like another coach. It's gonna be more about what he
does to them and for them in the locker room,
how he leads them on the field. He'll still probably

(29:04):
five or six sacks, which will be awesome for Von Mill.
He's not gonna play a ton, but that still is
a really good signing for them.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
But you added what six new starters on defense? You
had him Wams could have added nine new starters on defense. Well,
but that's just it. We we brought back reinforcements.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
What do we get rid of?

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Well, we got rid of that Micah Parsons guy. What
do you have in return? Well, look at it's a
whole laundry list of guys. If you do their depth chart,
there's so many different color codings to it. In the
addition's files, Like, well, this guy's a free agent. That
guy was off trade now guys, so yeah, it's everything
looks up and for the Eagles just to use them

(29:43):
really quickly. They're they're on another coordinator and some of
their component parts are starting to get a little longer
in the tooth.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
The dissatisfaction with Sirianni and folks that still take their
shots and Jalen hurts it has the recipe for an implosion.
But we I know that's usually when Philadelphia is at
its best.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
So they know there's some big, bold predictions coming off
a joint broad practice with the Saints and the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Don't press this button. I am grouped now, Oh no, no, what?

Speaker 1 (31:01):
So the Bus family has been in the news a
lot the last couple of days with the selling of
the Lakers and Jeanie Bus owning the team, pushing her
siblings out. The siblings now voting to we're selling the team.
We're pushing Genie out as governor.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
So it is. It is a big deal.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Everybody's is a bus and I always insportation schools, sure, Jerome.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Bettis yeah, all of that.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah, So we need to educate and have fun at
the same time. So we're gonna play a game called
Know Your Bus Kids, playing as myself, Mike Harmon, Steve Desager,
and Alex Tyshert. Now, since we've been doing the show
for a while, Mike, you and I and de Sager
has been you know, and around covering LA sports.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
We know the answers to these questions.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
We're going to bet whether or not Alex Tyshert knows
the answers to these questions like this, And it's very simple. Okay,
I'm gonna give you a first name, okay, and you
tell me if that is the first name of a
bus kid or not.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
That's all you gotta do. So excited, that's all you
gotta do. Now give you a hint.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
I'll give you a hint. Almost all of them begin
with a J. Really, yes, oh wow? Really okay, Well
you would have figured that out after we started playing.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
You just made the game easier for him. I don't know.
There's a lot of J names, So Alex ty Shirt,
I got to give him a little bit of that.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
You know.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
You gotta know that almost all of them.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
J moore that that's that's current and potentially future Laker owner.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Jame wore that's true.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
So I give you the name, and you tell me
if this is the name of a bus kid or not.
So excited, All right, now, they remember there's five siblings,
so five names had a bus card for a long time.
Six actually, okay, well we know Genie six.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
He knows Genie. Oh we're giving him a free spence,
giving him Genie. I'm giving him Genie Bus. Yes, I'm
giving him that one. So here we go. The first
name Jack.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Is there a Jack Bus ty shirt? You think you
know the answer to this?

Speaker 3 (33:01):
Oh? I know this one really for sure?

Speaker 1 (33:04):
You know, if if Jack Buss is a real buskit
or made up, you're I'm gonna say you're fake. I'm
gonna say he doesn't get it right?

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Harmon. Uh no, okay, no, that's in o.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Okay, we all think you're gonna get this wrong. So
really yeah, well we all think Steve, you're my guy. Yeah, no,
faith in me here? Okay, ty shirt? Is Jack Buss
a bus kid? No, that is not one of the kids,
That is correct.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Jack Buss is not a bus kid. I thought he
was going to be thinking about Jack Buck.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
No, not Jack Bue.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
No.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
The only Jack I recognizes sparrow Baby. Okay, all right,
very good. Don't you laugh at that, Steve, he got
lost at the edge of the one. Jessica.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Jessica Buss. Jessica Buss, you think you know this tysher?
You don't know that's a good name to pick. Okay, wow,
Jessica bus you have no idea. No, but that sounds
like it could be. I'm gonna say because he has
no idea, he's going to get it right, so I'll say.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
He gets it right.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
I'll say no, I'll say no.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Okay, why does everybody believing me?

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Jessica Bus is Jessica Bus a bus kid.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
I'm gonna say no, because he sounds.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Too My god, Yes, sir, right, See, I had confidence
in the fact that you had no idea that you
would get it right.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I mean, it's fifty to fifty. That's true. It's fifty fifty,
that's true. All right.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Did he literally flip a coin that time? No?

Speaker 3 (34:38):
No, no.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
He kind of looked to the skies and then gave
his answer, so that was okay, all right. Johnny is
Johnny Buss, Johnny a bus kid.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Why are you laughing at all these?

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Like I told you, because they're all normal names.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Though.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
That's the funny thing that he's laughing. It's like, you know,
it's not something that someone flipped a page thousand and
seventy two of a dictionary and said that's my kid's name.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
Yeah, okay, I thought they'd have like weird names. You're
like Jackal Jack Jackster. Jackal was a a hair metal
band of the eighties and early nineties.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
Maybe Jack was Jack Buss's full name. Oh, Jack Bush
jack Bust. No, No, we did see. That was the
first name for that, I said, Dame. I gave you
was Jo. How do you say?

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Was that a name, Steve?

Speaker 3 (35:32):
That was like two and a half minutes ago. I
live in the moment, Jason, Wow, Okay, I don't remember what.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
I said, Johnny Buss? Do you think you know if
Johnny Buss is a bus kid?

Speaker 3 (35:42):
This one?

Speaker 1 (35:42):
I feel comfortable and yes, you feel comfortable. Feel comfortable? Okay,
I'm gonna say not, not like for sure, but I'm comfortable.
Now I'm gonna say you're not gonna get it. I'm
gonna say no, Harmon.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
I'm gonna say he gets this one.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Thank you. I have great confidence. Yes, thank you, Steve.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
Yes, okay, all right, so I'm saying no. They're both
saying yes. Is Johnny Buss a bus kid?

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Here's Johnny?

Speaker 1 (36:03):
No, not a bus kid, Johnny Bus.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
You guys are into Jason by dinner or something?

Speaker 3 (36:11):
No? No, am I am I giving any signs?

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Steve de Seger, No signs that made him GM for
a while.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Yeah, he like took all the credit for Andrew Binhm.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Yah, Johnny Buss is actually the most well known bus
kid outside of Jeanie. Oh really Yeah, so this tells
you look what you guys are betting on.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
You didn't get Johnny Buss. You didn't get Johnny Bus
right close.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
I didn't get a choice as to whether I had.
I got to put my money. You chained me to
the desk and said make a bet. I told you
had to pick one sign.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
You're at the wrong sign. Kids here. That's how I
do running out of kids. We've only used one. We
need more kids.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
Fun.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
I'm gonna get everybody.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
We are absolutely gonna play this again next because we
have a lot of We'll play this till we run
out of kids. It's why you can only go so long.
But although if Tyser doesn't remember Jack, we could play
this game like ed and what are the kids or
Jackal coming up next? That audio you have to hear
is next Fox Wait, Johnny's one
