Let's not stealing it from your hardball? Eat it. Mike
Carmen alongside Aready Span here with you here Fox Sports Radio.
The Jason s Mitchell with Mike Armen. Jason off tonight,

(00:44):
enjoying the holiday holiday holiday's probably going to see Spider
Man again, Arnie, probably going back for the hat trick. Gosh,
I hate people that see movies over and over and
over again. You know why you really are down on
how people UH use their entertainment time or entertainment. I

(01:04):
mean we're talking earlier, you know, last hour about you know,
live concerts, live sports, and it's like for me, as
Danny g knows, it's something I've I've been preaching on
and and tight shirt with me here all these years.
Like live live concerts, it's one of the few places
in the world other than a church, where all the

(01:26):
energy is going in the same direction and everybody's in
there and they're positive. Now, obviously you're always gonna have
the knucklehead effect of guys uh and girls who've gotten
a little bit too excitable uh and and bibe something
that or maybe they just got the demons in them
uh that they need to act out at a at
a venue. But in general, it's it's that positivity and

(01:47):
that flow that to me is so magical. Just like
the forty Niner fans right now gathering behind the arm
of Jimmy Garoppolo. Love it. I love it. Great play,
great move. Now they get in the end zone, they
tied it up. You can't go for two points because
it was over two minutes left of the game. Uh,
too much risk, no reward in that time. Great move,

(02:10):
and now we'll see how this plays out for them. Well,
you're you're still looking at a defense that held the
Titans to fifty five yards in the first half. So
to some degree for San Francisco, I think they're saying, well,
you know what we we can get after Ryan Tannehill
and make a play and uh, right now we're looking
at the two minute warning, uh coming up here, and

(02:30):
look it's it's get chaos uh in in Tennessee here
just because well, we get another game that comes down
to the wire. And just as you're starting to write
a squad off, thinking all right, this is probably done, Uh,
you get the Garoppolo passed the deebo Samuel and e
sports ahead for fifty six yards. Defender tried to get
at him, missed him. Uh, and you have Samuel gets

(02:53):
it down to the six Wilson for four yards and
then Garoppolo finds Ayuk to our touchdown reception. And then
he punted the ball. So if they're ever in a
situation where they need a punter, he certainly got some
some leg behind that. So that was kind of a
big deal. I gotta tell you, if if we're ever
doing what where Arnie was right, where Arnie was wrong?

(03:14):
I gave up on severance quite three and five. Oh
my god. And you know what other shows do that?
Uh and generally Uh. One of the mantras here on
the Jason Spent Show with Mike Harmon is we live
in a vacuum. How other folks can copy us? It
ain't going the other way. Well, I I was way
wrong on that. When I'm like, oh, well, sin San

(03:36):
Franciscoes done glass half full or actually not half full.
It's usually overflowing or there's one drop remaining. I know,
I know your bit. Come on. That's as long as
I've been listening yet, Arnie, there's there's no you know,
middle of the road tempered take. I went, I went

(03:58):
on the air. I was on the year last Sunday
with Chris Plank as the Tampa Bay Buccaneer game was
wrapping up, and um, I said to Chris, and you know,
I know we've said this before, about like four or
five years ago when the Patriots played Kansas City. But
I said, Chris, this is an historic night. This is
the night that Tom Brady's career is finally over. Over,

(04:22):
it's over. R Um, He's done. He got shut out.
He looked horrible. Um, there's no doubt. I know what
you've said it before, but this time it's come true.
The age isn't too much on him, and he got
shut out. There. Okay, it's one game, but it was
but the yeah, obviously the shows that night that that

(04:44):
is one thing that I will cop to, but I
give credit full credit. It's as my guy Arnie has
always said, the show is tonight. But but the fact
of the matter is you also had in the set
of circumstances of losing all of your top op and
then they were trying to decap Rob Gronkowski as he
went across. So when when you get down to it

(05:06):
now he gets a A B eighty four back, which
is intriguing. Uh. And I know folks are mad and
wringing their hands. It's business. It's business, okay, folks. Uh,
Folks in your wherever you work, in your homes, transgressions issues,
you try to figure it out and work forward. And
sometimes desperation and circumstances say, you know what, we wanted

(05:30):
to draw a hard line in the sand. You know what,
erase that we need to move that because you know,
life comes at you different and losing Godwin, losing Leonard
four net and having Mike Evans with a hamstring injury
that may keep him out for a couple of weeks,
those are things that are gonna necessitate strange bedfellas hell.
They sided side leve Bell, he was getting ready to

(05:50):
train for boxing and all the time. Yeah yeah, earlier
the week he's talking all all tough after the you know,
latest of the Paul fights and going after going after Woodley,
and now it's oh wait, I can go get another
NFL contract for a couple of weeks. See, you might
as well go ahead and do uh, do that a

(06:12):
little bit. Yeah. I didn't bring up all the injuries
that Tom Brady had to deal with the round, but
a lot of teams have to do that all song.
But in game, you game planned all week and you
lose that many guys, and just in general, like what,
it's a it's a one off blip, right, because who
who outside of the Packers right now in the NFC,
I guess the Rams are surging, but every other team

(06:33):
is beatable. Every other team has some pretty big flaws
six they're in right. That's the beauty and the pain
of watching all these glorious games in NFL season. Um.
By the way, Tennessee's aligning themselves up for the game
winning field goal fifty four seconds left, I think San

(06:54):
Francisco I don't know if they have any time outs.
They just use their third with so um doesn't that
it's not gonna do anything. But they'll just run one
more play Tennessee. Then they'll call it time out and
then a little chip shot. It's gonna be like what
a thirty yard or for the game winner. So it
should be a pretty easy one. There should be. But
as we know nothing, well, you know what, you put

(07:17):
it out there. It's almost like you bet the forty
niners and you want them to win. I want San
Francisco to win. Well I had them coming out of
the NFC before the season started. Yeah, I went bold, Well,
everybody else had the same two teams like all right,
it's Tampa and it's Green Bay. Like all right, this
bores me. So sometimes you have to, you know, stick

(07:39):
your well and analyzing it. Looking at a team that
defensively looked like they had it together offensively, thought perhaps
they'd be uh, you know, a little more consistent. And
now Deebo Samuel back in the good graces as a
receiver because he'd become more of a running back in
racing weeks. But eight from one to question, I wanted

(08:01):
to pose to you, what do you get the person
who has everything? What do you mean like somebody who's
rich or something like that, rich and well, and even
if they're not rich, they have whatever they need. But
you think that perhaps this would tip things over to wow,
you got me this. It's kind of like the gift

(08:22):
bags that people didn't expect here, right for folks that
have not gone through a holiday season here at Fox
Sports Radio, for our editors and associate producers, some of
our producers, they didn't know that today boxes would arrive
with the Arnie span You're curated list of Vermont goodies.

(08:46):
So they might have been having a great holiday season,
but it got that much better. That's the point I'm saying.
You could be satisfied, but what would take it over?
I'll tell you what. You know, we have a kid
living with us this semester, the last this year that
goes to the local high school and we always take
a bill of kid in because they have no place
to stay here. We have very bad housing problems here.

(09:08):
But anyway, he went went back home the Buffalo for
Christmas and his parents got me a cheesecake from Juniors
in Brooklyn, New York. And what did especially delivered to me?
So I thought that was pretty cool. Well, see things
like that right when you get this nice little thing
that pops up and you're like, wow, that is just crazy,
and the kid is up and good man, that started drifting, drifting,

(09:34):
drifting down. Four seconds remain on the clocks. Twenty seventeen lead, gosh,
that's horrible. Sixteen is here in chaos once again? Yeah,
and then just the other thing. There's a story here
in Vermont that sells like local old school signs, like
steel signs, you know, like Exxon or you know, like

(09:55):
the old school gas station signs and stuff like that,
or diner signs that you could put up in your
man cave. So I thought that's kind of cool too,
so just and they're not expensive, it's not too bad.
So I wanted to buy one of those old gas
pumps and put it down in my man cave, but
it wasn't for sale. But you can get stuff like
that too. I don't know that they still use the
term man cave in what do they? I don't know

(10:20):
the place where I hide my stuff. Um, but Tom
Brady and his apparel brand Brady developed a new hue
of the color blue called Brady Blue partnership with Pantone.
We know I'm here in Los Angeles, right, the fan
club that gets after it and goes around to all
stadiums the Dodger blue pantone with UH and now you've

(10:45):
got the Brady blue color. Not only are they trademarking
names and and little UH abbreviations, right, Mac Jones is
already trademarked and put in for his his own name
and number and all that stuff. But now Tom Brady
has a color. And this is like registering a start,

(11:06):
because anybody can do bad until it's in the sixty
box of Crayola crayons. I'd say Brady blue. I'm sorry,
it's it's not a real color until it's in. Now
there's a marketing genius piece from you already Spaniard crayon
the box with Tom Brady on the cover. And it
looks like when you go to sharpen your your cran

(11:28):
or remember, like him throwing it and the hole is
where the ball would be. Oh, I love it. It's brilliant.
It's nice. I like that last second for San Francisco,
the we do the old fire drill here that never
works except find the receivers again once you have the ball,
and Kittle now has it. But he goes, Oh no,
he keeps it alive. I don't think he's alive. Is

(11:53):
wrestled down. Time expires, he's taken down. Back at the
thirty two, we'll see how they score it for fantasy purposes,
as you may have just lost yardage which may cost
you a victory. Craziness. Uh, And so we'll talk about
the playoff ramifications of this. We've alluded to them over
the course of the night. But let's set up what

(12:13):
is Week sixteen and the National Football League coming out
of this? But a reminder, Hey, it can happen easily.
A few drinks become a few too many, and it's
time to go, and you think of calling for a
ride home. Nah, you think, what's the worst that could happen?
You get pulled over, you lose your license, you total
your car, maybe he kills someone drives over and get
pulled over. Paid for by NITZA seventeen. Your final Ryan

(12:39):
Tannehill leads them back A J. Brown with a huge game.
We'll look at the playoff pictures updated with Bullocks game winner.
As he heads to the tunnel, everybody else shaking hands.
He's got his finger pointing up like he just won
a Super Bowl. Come out. We'll continue with the NFL

(12:59):
and the glory of playoff pictures. Next you're on Fox,
be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific. The Holiday classic bringing us back in Welcome
in It is the Jason Smith Yong with Mike Armen.
Here Fox Sports Radio Arnie Spaniard is in for Jason
Smith tonight. You did hear uh Smith's dulcet tones there

(13:23):
when it came to uh well Jr. Smith uh college
golfer uh and some of his uh misdeed uh and
mistake a too. He's cruising absolutely. Look I'm all for it.
Go back, have fun. You only live once. Go find
your fun. I've got four years of eligibility. I can
go play ball on you know what right now? Giving

(13:43):
all of the issues in the NBA, I mean you
should send in some of your tape. Look at me,
I'm raining threes. I got my tape coming back out.
We start a new league up here in Vermont and
in January, so I'll let you let your tune on in.
Oh boy, can we get a live stream including all
the cursing and pulled hamstrings. You got me again at

(14:07):
Stinking Gene has one on Twitter, find me over at
swollen Dome chime in. What do you get the person
who's got everything? We'll do a little bit of gift
gift ideas in the sporting realm here, uh in a
little bit right because it's those final few hours. Uh,
and you've got sporting good stores or maybe you can
get a last minute delivery wherever you may be. But

(14:29):
we saw the Titans come back from uh, well they
were they were really useless in the first half fifty
five total yards. You had a tend nothing lead by
the forty niners. That should have been bigger, uh if
only seventeen nothing, maybe even more depending on you know,
how you play out of drive. But certainly the interception

(14:49):
in the end zone uh from Jimmy garoppolo play in
the first half that stood out. The second half interception
and then going forward on fourth down, a play that
was destined to FA based on the route run uh
and where the ball was delivered. Just no opportunity there,
I mean unless there was a party of the Red Sea,
you know, like last week when Jonathan Taylor ran to
paid hurt to put the Patriots a game away once

(15:12):
and for all. But no, uh, that did not happen here.
And then the Titans got the ball and marched right
down the field for a touchdown and now go ahead.
And I was gonna say, and the impact, of course,
and I didn't know this before the game. Um, the
Dallas Cowboys now clinched the playoffs spot because of that
loss by by San Francisco. So the Cowboys now the
second team to clinch a spot in the NFC with

(15:34):
the Green Bay Packers. I can't wait, first time since eighteen,
Cowboys back in the playoffs. Well, it's always good for
business when they're horrid or or they're good, right if
they're just mediocre, which is what they've been for a
long time. Yeah, there's some handwringing, but there's there's nothing
about it, right, It's all right. It was about the coach,
and everybody hated Jason Garrett. But overall it's like, how

(15:57):
do you get to get excited about the team when
it's you say, all right, they underperformed. Next uh and
you move over you talk about them because they're the
cowboy and cowboys in there, the global brand and everything aren't,
but you know you moved that aside with Titans. They
moved to ten in five, second team in the a
f C to get to ten wins behind the Chiefs,
and with a loss by the Colts on Saturday, they

(16:20):
would clinch the a f C South Wow. And a
matter of fact there, as you mentioned, they're gonna fight
it out with Kansas City for that number one seed
and the buy only one team obviously gonna get to
buy in each conference. Um, I don't know exactly who
gets the type breaker there. I'd have to go back
through everything. I know Tennessee has a half game better

(16:41):
conference record, but that won't mean anything at the end
of the season. But yeah, that right now they're gonna
be one to coming into the playoffs, are coming into
next week. Well, a couple of huge matchups here in
in week sixteen. Right when you look at the Chiefs
and the Steelers are a little bit of trouble with
COVID pro calls Travis Kelsey UH and Tyreek Hill obviously

(17:03):
the only two names that anybody knows UH in general
fandom beyond beyond Patrick Mahomes and obviously a big deal
UH in terms of their offensive output. Trying to find
another player to step up in their absence against the
Steelers team that week to week, we have no idea
what we're gonna see. You don't know what you're gonna get.

(17:26):
They're lucky that they're even still in this thing. They
probably shouldn't even have won their game last week. They did.
They're hanging around and now they're gonna get a But
think about it, the Titans don't give that one away,
AREN'TI jeez, played so well early on uh and then
but let him hang around right that. We always talk
about finishing drives, and you know, everybody can get excitable

(17:48):
about analytics, it's just straight old fashioned football, right of
you know, finish your plays and don't let teams hang around,
right if you're bludgeoning them, you know, finish those drives.
You of the forty niners, if you're moving the ball, well,
why are you? Why are you taking chances and putting
the ball up for grabs. With the Patriots, they've got

(18:10):
another matchup against the Bills. Never you don't want already, folks,
conveniently forget that Stefon Diggs and Dawson Knox gave the
Patriots that game. Catch the ball interception like Stefon Diggs
dropped the ball in the end zone. Knox had either

(18:30):
three or four drops, depending on you know, whether you
want to officially give him one. So now you have
the mat rematch here and the Bills at eight and six.
Everybody jumping off the bandwagon and Josh Allen, I don't
know that they've actually watched any of the football the
last couple of weeks. All of a sudden, but that's it,

(18:52):
all of a sudden. It's it's do or die. Right.
You're looking at eight and six teams right now, uh,
and there are a plethora up them. You've got the
char just the Colts, the Bangles, the Bills, and the Ravens.
Ravens probably without Lamar Jackson again. Tyler Huntley has been uh,
pretty fun to watch. But in a huge divisional matchup
this week against Cincinnati another team that week to week,

(19:15):
right when we start to crown him again, they go
and get blundeoned teams they shouldn't. You you're talking, You're
talking about Jackson and Baltimore because Hunley look is look phenomenal.
Do you give Hunley an extension? Five year? Not? On
the um Lamar Jackson the extension five year contract and
what is it? It's got a coup of like a

(19:35):
five year what million dollar contract? Or do you say, yeah,
I think we'll go to the different direction. We'll keep
it on the cheap, will get will sign Hunley. We
don't have to give him the big money. We'll use
that money for other stuff. Well, watching what he's been
able to produce, you've got probably this sample size. Yeah,
it is a very small sample size. And that's and
that's the problem that you have here, right, I think

(19:56):
in in the organization, you've got to determine how much
of Lamar jackson struggles are based on having to pretty
much carry the weight of the world on your shoulders
with and everybody's got injuries. Yeah, come on, no, no, no, no,
But have you watched what happened to Baltimore from from
the Outs Left? It's Mark Andrews Mark, he's brown, is

(20:18):
is is not a number one and he's had to
play a number one. I'm still thinking I'm gonna go
with Hunley, save a boatload of money and try to
use that money to assure of some other spots. Slamark Jackson.
It wasn't even just coming into this year did we
start to have question marks about him? So? Um, there
was a little bit last year. Also, I'm not so
sure I can fork over two fifty million plus dollars

(20:40):
for five years for this Guy's not Your money aren't
and the salary cap is going up a lot of
other players are under contract. I mean, that's the evaluation
of your roster as a whole. Right, how much turnover
is they're going to be? Uh, you're assuming you get
your running backs who are both uh younger guys, right,
particularly J K. Dobbins he comes back, he's still on

(21:00):
a rookie deal, so try trying well. But that's the thing, right,
is that you you were down to what your seventh
running bag at this point. Not many teams are having
great success that way. And we can get into harball
and analytics and and I know in Baltimore they're they're
about done. My whole, my my summary state middle all
of that is, you know, being a Northwestern football fan,

(21:23):
and I mentioned it the other day, I mentioned it
again here is you know you can't go all right,
I'm going with the numbers, but this time I'm going
with my gut. And that's what Pat Fitzgerald does with Northwestern.
Sometimes it's the numbers. Sometimes the gut comes in and
you know what happens that muddies everything up. And at
the times, no, I love him too, I just wish

(21:45):
he'd be consistent when it came to plays of that ilk.
Football is not consistent, man, that that's the way you
do it. There are those straight out rules. I know
people say, well, in this situation, the chart says, do this, man,
throw that chart out the way, though you do what
you feel as best for the team. I hate when
people are the chart says this. The chart said that.
Man whoever wrote that chart isn't doing a very good job.

(22:09):
Football changed, Ernie. We evaluate things from from a different,
different point of view, right, Because nobody ever went for
it on fourth and one except for Tom Brady. I
love when they go for it on fourth down, but
when you're giving the other team great field position, man,
that and that killed him today. San Francisco went for
it on fourth and that was fourth the one they

(22:30):
had the penalty. So instead of putting the ball, say okay,
let's just cut our losses, they go for it on
fourth six from the forty and then they give the
ball up right there at the forty and in case
closed right there. Well, but it always goes back to
if my defense has been playing well, as you say,
you gotta go with down distance and situation, right, And

(22:50):
at that point you're still thinking your defense can make
a stop. At least I'm thinking that was the the
discussion point on the sideline. But they pin them back,
then you punt the ball to pin them back, or
if you kick it out you gain what fifteen yards? Right,
Nobody cough in corner kicks anymore, Arnie. That's the other
part of all this. Everybody does the all right, I'm

(23:11):
gonna get it to to balance at the seven, and
I'm gonna have to hope that my guys down it
or it doesn't get a huge role, right if you
can't get under it. But what I'm trying to say
is your argument was just the you know, charts and
all all of those things throw them out. Well, that's
what they did there, pump the ball and they trusted

(23:35):
their you know what, Their defense didn't work. The defense
from the forty is a big difference than the defense
all the way down it like the ten yard line, right,
But that's assuming you get it down, which is a
pretty tough too, because if it ends up being a touchback,
how much have you gained twenty even at the twenty
yard line, that's fine, they gotta go eighty yards. Point
being you're still trusting your defense can get a stop,

(23:55):
which they did not. Better play, better execution, because that's
the other side of it. It's easy to uh, you know,
hindsight is always I know, and it's sports talk radio host.
We try to do it on the fly as it's happening,
not or at least I I do because we have
the glory of being in the window when games are

(24:16):
being played. But it's it's always the fun discussion points
when it goes awry, right, and a team that's having
some struggles and well a former quarterback that lead in
to some big victories had some comments about their quarterback
and where they're headed. We'll get into that and I'm
all the Be sure to catch live editions of The
Jason Smith Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm

(24:38):
Eastern seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
I Heart Radio app. Hey, I'm Doug Gottlie. The podcast
is called All Ball. We usually talk all basketball, all
the time. But it's more about the stories about what
made these people love their sport and all the interesting
interactions along the way. We talked to coaches, we talked

(25:00):
to players. If we tell you stories, you download it,
you listened to it. I think you like it. Listen
to All Ball with Doug Gotlieb on the I Heart
Radio app, Apple podcast, or ever you get your podcast.
It's amazing where we're at with technology and stuff as
related to injuries, because look, I suffered a knee injury

(25:21):
playing basketball in high school intermural game and the way
I landed, the way my leg broke. I could never
get guys out the doctors at the time to sign
off on me to do anything athletically. Again, we had
a wrestling team. He's like, I'm not signing off on
that leg because it's swelled to some ten times it's
normal side. It was awful, it was well, I'm just

(25:43):
saying that that is probably a very routine injury at
this point. Yeah, you'll be back in two months, so
here five months. Hey, I'm curious. You gotta wonder if
he's doing it against some doctor's um opinions. You know, Well,
everybody wondering is like what what did they figure out?
All the blood stuff guys were going to do in Germany,

(26:05):
Kobe and all those guys back in the day trying
to figure that out. So I don't know. It's it's
interesting because that was the guy that they were gonna
pin their hopes on in the run game, Darrell Henderson
as a secondary kind of option. And Sony Michelle has
been fantastic the last three weeks for that. What do
you think we're gonna talk about? God forbid that he
gets hurt again, and because he came back too early,

(26:27):
what do you think it's gonna lead the UH talk
shows the very next day? And and you know what
I'm gonna say, And the guy wanted the guy wanted
back in on a potential Super Bowl run. Good for him,
he bet on himself. It's like Isaiah Thomas. No, but
like Isaiah Thomas right in coming back to the to
the NBA, remember when he he kept playing even though

(26:48):
he was injured and had the potential for a huge
payday and bad but no, but he but he took
a shot. So but you know why, you know what's
the wrong deal, Mike, but acause if you would have
given your son or daughter, any type of you know,
the same situation, you would say you're not coming back.
You're not coming back to to play with two games

(27:11):
left in me. I'm just gonna tell you this, dude,
are grown ass man. If that's what he wants to
do and they can get him back for the playoffs
and he wants to come back, might be the best
I know. I understand it may not be in his
best Definitely it's not his best interest. I promise you
that where's maybe who knows. If he's healthy and he
runs runs through people in the playoffs and through a

(27:32):
super Bowl and he stays healthy, good for him, right,
he bet on himself. And one I can't predict the future.
I mean you've tried to. No way he's a hundred percent.
There's no way he's a percent. Who is You're not
concent But I have a bad back, but I got
the heating pad on it. But I mean when you're

(27:54):
playing football. But I understand that though, But if he
feels and the team of ALLU it said, obviously the team,
if they can get a lift, they're gonna take the lift.
But if you got a guy, get it right. But
if he's a guy that is suddenly available to you.
You're gonna say no. He gets doctors clearance and he
feels all right and he's ready to go. You you're

(28:15):
gonna say, you know what, We're gonna save you for good.
My mom used to do that all the time. Tell
let all this show all all the time, Like the
thing that you get, you know, as a gift, like
holiday holiday, holiday season, and it's like, oh, it's cool.
I like that, and then you go put it in
a closet. It's like, when what are you gonna use it?
I'm saving it for good. If cam Akers is healthy,
you know what, cam Akers, whatever it is, might be

(28:39):
a better cog in your machine than Sony Michelle or
Darryl Anderson. He's coming back like two months faster than
anybody else I've ever seen come back from an injury
like that in the Okay, so now it's he becomes
the record breaker. Yeah, well, the student's gonna be You're
always gonna miss one game and you'll be right back
at it. Then, right, hey, you never can't tell her

(28:59):
from a lips to God's ears. More stars we can
get back on the field, the better start having surgery.
That there's this chirm them out there. We have new
new technology. We're gonna get you better in a week
and and then we'll have twenty NFL games. Then that's
a good idea, Antie, you should patent that patent pending,
patent pending, no question about it. Hey, you know what.

(29:22):
It can happen easily where you have a few drinks
and a few become too many, it's time to go.
Think of calling for a ride home now. Then you said, nah,
you know what's the words can happen to me? You
get pulled over, maybe you lose your license, you total
your car, you kill someone, drive sober, or get pulled over.
Paid for by NITZA. Let's be safe out there people.

(29:45):
We've got weather across the country. Uh, you know, take
the extra couple of minutes, slow it down. Uh. And
if you need help, you get yourself in a situation.
Plenty of services out there. And yes, the yellow cabs
still work. Or call a friend, you know, family member
come pick you up. There's no excuse for any of
these things. So be smart out there and take care

(30:06):
of each other exactly. And Merry Christmas. And yeah, and
it's good to have Arnie and get the blood boiling,
you know, and it's like ninety seven degrees here in
the Fox Sports Radio studios. The knock has decided they
want to sweat me out. They're like, if if you
guys are if you guys drop a little sixty degrees,
everybody puts on their winter coats out there. I'm just

(30:28):
telling you, I'm sweating like a hog up and it is.
It is about sixty degrees outside and rainy, and people
are people are not happy. There are folks leaving the
offices here at Fox Sports Radio screaming for the you know,
thirty feet that they had to go from the front
door to the edge of the market. Girl, our guys
are laughing. Daddy's laughing because he heard it. The door

(30:51):
was open. It's like, what the hell are these people
screaming about. Yeah, Mike walked into the courtyard for a
few minutes and I literally heard three different women scream
as they were leaving the tower. I still get take
like two hours to go thirty miles that that's just insane.
I just kid. I don't know how you do it
anymore well now, But the beauty of it for me anyway,

(31:12):
is most nights I'm not here, but it's a special
holiday edition of The Jason Smith Show with like as
Arnie Spanier is in My Guy at Stinking Genius, one
one of my heroes. In this, I'm not trying to
age you. I'm just saying I've listened to her. No,
it's just a respect. I'd be setting up and getting
ready to you know, price some cards to go to
a card show, and we turn on the Stinking Genius.

(31:35):
At least somebody was listening back there. It was us,
and then my my little brother developed a really good impression. Uh,
and and we rolled from there. But you know, we've
we've got some producing this year's batch of glug. I
will have to make sure that a bottle finds you
your home. Uh is traditional wine and brandy drink. It's

(31:55):
really really good, right, Yeah, absolutely no question. That's how
I got the wuads and calves that I have. The
other is that you know I brought we got Brandon
went and picked up the Chicago pizzas little taste of
home here. We've got a Chicago establishment that opened just
down the streets. So a little bit of love, uh,
because it's a family man, you know, ty Shirt. I

(32:17):
spent about as much time with him as anybody, uh
in this world. I don't know if that's good or bad,
but well, now, hey, you know what he's he's a kind,
gentle soul and he keeps us on point here at
Fox Sports Radio, at Stack of Genius one on Twitter
where you find already find me over at Swollen Dome
and coming out next. Yeah, we'll actually get to the

(32:39):
story that got derailed talking about the Cardinals that were
riding high and a former NFL quarterback had some point
in comments about Kyler Murray, you know, the pro bowler.
We'll get into those next you're on Fox. Be sure
to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with
Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific.

(32:59):
Welcome back in Fox Sports Radio, Jason Smith Chell with
Mike Carmen, Arnie Span your in for Jason Smith to
night deep cuts in your holiday holiday holiday music. Later
on we'll do the opposite of the Stranded Island game
as related to holiday music. But hey, do you think
it's okay to drive stone? Truth is your reaction times

(33:21):
slow way down. When you're high, You're not only put
yourself in danger, but everyone around you. So stop kidding
yourself and using marijuana in any form. Do not get
behind the wheel. If you feel different, you drive different.
Getting high. Get a d U I paid for by NITZA.
The smart people. That's the mantra of the night. Uh

(33:43):
treat each other well. And if you haven't reached out
to friends and family in a while, check in make
sure they're doing okay. Absolutely absolutely, We're gonna have a
little snow out here on Christmas Day. I like what
it's those on Christmas Eve. But you can't have everything,
and UH got the day off. Gonna go ahead and
just chill a little bit. Do we have anything in
the watches the college bowl games that there is there not? Well?
On Saturday you got a couple of U NFL games. Yeah,

(34:06):
you got the NFL games right, absolutely, yeah, I know.
I the Blue Gray game isn't there anymore? Which is
come on, you'd get up early and you be betting that.
Don't tell me you weren't. It was the only thing
you got to watch anything, just to watch the football. Great, though,
what are you guys doing? It's like, leave us alone,
We're watching the Blue Gray. That was a big game too.

(34:28):
That was always always a big deal. One of the
great traditions. My brothers and I still lament the fact
that it's no longer in existence. But hey, one of
the stories that circulating, you know, we're talking about playoff pictures,
team on the rise, teams trying to figure out, teams
trying to hold on desperately right now at ten and four,
first in the NFC West, but the Rams are there

(34:51):
at ten and four, forty Niners take a loss, go
to eight and seven. But we talked about the crowded
picture of the playoff, uh rid, as it relates to
the NFC. But a team that's trending in a bad
spot is the Arizona Cardinals right now. Uh Kyler Murray.
They won two or three games with Colt McCoy right
while while Murray was out you got the bye week.

(35:13):
He still doesn't look right like, let's just call it
what it is. But right now they're in a little
bit of a spin. And Carson Palmer appeared on the
Dave Pash Podcast and had some pointed comments as related
to Kyler Murray. Quote. Thing that concerns me some of
the leadership deficiencies I've seen, some of the body language

(35:33):
that I've seen from Kyler when you're down in Detroit,
even though you're faking it, you need to keep a raw,
raw face on certain things you need to do as
a quarterback. He's still young, he's still learning, he's still
working his way through. Alright, three and four, well, three
or four in their last seven. The thing that I
have just from a team perspective, not just Kyler and
and faking it, there is as a team, where's your urgency? Right?

(35:57):
Three and four in your last seven? You took a
law us the week prior, and then you come out
and get bludgeoned by the Lions. Right, that can't happen.
It's it's unexcusable for that to happen. With that being said,
though you can't panic. You're still ten and four. You're
getting your leader back. You're right, he didn't look right
out there, But that's gonna take a little bit of time.
They're going through some troubles. Just like you made excuses

(36:19):
for a lot of You made excuses for the Ravens,
but you're not willing to make excuses for the Cardinals
because they're injuries and stuff have become recently. They'll get
healthy again. But um, you're right, did it look good
right now, and Murray's got to keep a well. I
didn't go ahead and study that. Was that a collective
you or were you trying to go pointedly at me?
Probably pointedly because it was pointedly at me. I'm not

(36:40):
making excuses for him. You play who you got, and
if DeAndre Hopkins isn't there, you make you make the
best fit. Likewise, the Ravens are trying to go through
without twenty guys. That's a season long thing. Yeah, but
it seems like you're making excuses for the Ravens and
the Cardinals. You just want to go ahead and bass.
It's one guy. It's still head and four and it's

(37:01):
whatever you thought J. J. Watt was gonna be right right? Well,
what did you think he was gonna be? A fifteen
sad guys showing up there? Don't tell me you did
aarnie No, but that's what everybody felt when they were
side of him. I thought, hey, he's a nice situational guy.
We see what he is, but he ain't getting past
week eight. Guess what he didn't get past week eight? Yeah,
but we decided somebody like that. You never think that way.

(37:23):
You always thinking like three of the last five years
like that. Yes, you do, he's gonna be he's bringing
his Hall of Fame att he's going. Well that that's
still there. That's great. It's just really a sad state
of affairs when you start thinking, hey, we should call
Larry Fitzgerald. He hasn't played all year, why not better

(37:46):
off for it? No doubt about that podcast. He's got
all this stuff. No I'm not. And it's a good race.
I mean right now, Dallas, Tampa, Arizona, the Rams all
with the ten and four record. The good races for
six and seven would say Francisco, Minnesota, Philly and the Saints.
So I want to see how that's gonna turn out. Also, yeah,
with Arizona, you you're talking about a game obviously on

(38:07):
Christmas Day, to go back to your who's playing primetime
game there tickets as low as forty two bucks in Arizona.
If you can get out there, I might drive there. Hey,
maybe that'll be what I do. Uh. And then week
seventeen at Dallas, and then week eighteen a game against
Seattle which should have folded up shot by then, So
opportunity still next, still could be a twelve win team,

(38:29):
but still everybody, or thirteen win team, but everybody just
angry as it goes. Coming up next top, Bela Sero
