(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio. That
Jason Smith Show was Steve to say er in from
Mike Harmon, And let me just say this before we
get to a big NFL story. The Nicks lose the
game to the Suns. That is just, I mean absolutely
(00:47):
impossible to see how they lost. They're up by one
with with seven seconds left, they miss a free throw
and R. J. Barrett had the offensive rebound on the
free throw. I know, I know, yes, and he couldn't
hold onto it. And Julius Randall is not in the
game because he got thrown out in the middle of
the third quarter because he threw a punch at Cam Johnson,
(01:09):
back up forward for the Sons, who scored thirty eight
points tonight. Thirty eight. Right, the guy tries to punch
off He's never scored more than twenty four in a game.
Thirty eight bleeping points from three point range of off
the bench, he was nine of twelve, including you know,
so Randall's not in the game. Uh. The Nick smiths
(01:31):
a free throw, The Sons go up court and they
run a horrendous offensive play campaign with the ball behind
the three point line. With two seconds left, passes the
ball ten ft behind him to Cam Johnson. Right, that's
a horrible play. We got two seconds left, you're down
by a point. What are you doing? Nope, doesn't matter.
Cam Johnson throws up a thirty two fter and banks
(01:52):
it in for the game winner, banks it in from
het He got a yeah, no, he got, he got
got suns. Fans going, what a great game? You were lucky,
You were completely lucky. Right, well, he did make nine. Yeah,
but come on, man, you throwing it from thirty three ft.
(02:13):
You're Cam Johnson. Man, you're not Damian Lillard from the logo,
and you've been you banking and win the game. I mean,
how lucky can you be? So let's put it this way.
From the Knicks perspective, if R. J. Barrett was just
like seven, they went one. If John Starks was four
for six games seven of the finals. But here's the
fallout for this, right, is that Julius Randall has been
(02:35):
playing better lately, but Knicks fans and the Knicks have
had it with him his off the court, his behavior
has been horrendous, from booing the fans thumbs down, being combative.
He didn't play well for the first half of the
season when the Knicks had something to play for, and
and and the Knicks have kind of had it with him.
And you know, they need to look for a star
(02:56):
in the off season because that's what they need, because
that you thought Julius Randall was your star, he's not.
He was a good player last year and he had
a career year and he's not the star they thought
he was. They paid him like he was a star,
but he's not. After this game, watch how badly he
gets crushed for this. Oh, Julius Randall got gets thrown
out of a game because he can't keep his cool
(03:17):
and the guy he tries to punch goes off for
thirty eight hits, the game winning three. Even though it's look,
it puts you thirteen games unders not that big a deal.
This is gonna be that game where the Nick say,
you know what, he's He's involved in every trade talk
we have, in conversation we have in the offseason. He's
in the mix for every star player we can try
to whether it's Lillard or somebody else, doesn't matter, he's involved.
(03:38):
We will we will give you Julius Randall. Julius Randall
is someone that no longer we we feel like he
can be a productive player here in New York where
we're not dealing with knuckle headed stuff. I mean, you
get thrown out of a game for no reason, for
no reason because the fights had been separated, and and
I'm still gonna throw a punch. I get that there's
back and forth in the game. I understand that, but dude,
(03:59):
you're a was to be a leader and and you're
supposed to be an All Star and the best player
on the team. Uh, you gotta stay in the game.
You can't get thrown out throwing a punch at a
backup player and then that guy goes off and he
scores thirty eight points and your team loses. I mean,
at some point, if you're the Knicks, you have to say,
you know what, we just can't have him we just
can't have him back. We can't have him around and watch.
(04:20):
Julius Randall will be involved in every trade discussion in
the off season because the Nicks're gonna have to give
salary back to get a star player, and and other
teams are gonna want a good player. And if Julius
Randall's coming in is maybe not the one but the
second or third best option, Okay, we can make that happen.
The Knicks will try everything they can to move on
for him in the off season. And this is the
final straw. This is the this is the last of
(04:43):
If it's not, I don't want to see what is?
Who knows? Who knows? I don't know what. I don't
know what it's gonna be. Is he gonna pull the
chair out from under Tom Thibodeau as he tries to
sit down on the bench, and that's gonna be? What
does it? I don't know? Okay, I got an idea.
How about Julius Randall for Amari Cooper right now? Straight up? Uh?
Julius makes more money, so that could actually work. The
(05:04):
Cowboys have to throw in a couple of guys. They
probably throw in Zeke and his salary too, and everything
else they did. You know the guy you mentioned coming
off the bench, Cam Johnson who banked in the game
winning three for Phoenix. A couple of items from stat muse.
It's in Sons history. This was the second most bench
points they had scored in any game was tonight. And
for a guy to get thirty eight points while playing
(05:25):
less than thirty minutes, second most by any Suns player
in the three point era so the last forty plus years.
He just had a stunning, amazing night, specifically the fourth
quarter with twenty one points and the banking game winner
because the Knicks could not secure the rebound on their
last misfree throw and couldn't hit a free throw, couldn't
(05:46):
hit a free throw, couldn't hit a free throw, couldn't
get the rebound. Could Knicks basketball man Nick's fever catch it?
That's what it is. And know whatever they've got don't
catch it. Oh my goodness, It's just it's terrible. You know, Hey,
I can't wait to see. Let's see what everybody says
at the entire shirt. Let's take a look for these
uh some Knicks post game. There see if Julius Randall
says anything or Tom Thibodeau. I think I think you
(06:08):
might hear some interesting stuff tonight. I have some sound
from the owner. If you want to hear it, you do, Okay,
Low really James Dolan, Yeah, let's here. What does he say? Hi?
I'm James Dolan. I'm officially shutting the team down. Okay,
I really thought you were gonna play running back. I
really that's I can't give you what you want. Twitter
(06:32):
and Out about a fresco The Jason Smith Show with
Mike Carmen Steve de Seger in for harm and tonight.
Tonight Show brought you by one of our favorite cities,
Las Vegas, the greatest arena on Earth. Every game, match, race,
and competition it is always on. Whoever you root for,
whatever sport you love to watch, the biggest games are
even bigger in Vegas. Or make sure to play in
a trip today at visit Las Vegas dot com. That's
(06:53):
visit Las Vegas dot com. One other thing, Jason, someone
pointed out on Twitter that fourth quarter points in this
game at Phoenix Cam Johnson twenty one. The Knicks as
a team twenty one in the fourth quarter exactly. There's
nothing that's gonna cut there, there's nothing good. You're gonna
tell me here there's nothing. Now, there's nothing good, There's nothing.
It's just a series of slop is gonna come forth
(07:15):
this final hour of the show. But a lot of material,
there's a lot of material off a loss like this.
Oh we're gonna have fun. It's like it's like every night,
who can top being worse? The Knicks are the Lakers?
Who can talk? Who could be worse than the Knicks
are saying? Oh, hold my beer, man, that was bad
last night against the Clippers. Watch what we do? You know,
I worked the Sunday Night show after NFL and I
(07:37):
felt like there were weeks in a row where he's saying, man,
this team thought of new and ever more creative ways
to lose today. And you know, it's the same thing.
What's going on with Nicks? You know, this was this
was stunning. I mean it's the twelve point lead second half,
and as soon as he get kicked out in the town,
it was, yeah, this is just you know what, I
(07:58):
just got to keep going back to it's not our year.
We weren't going anywhere anywhere. It's okay, it's not our year.
Last year was good one forty one games from the playoffs.
That was last year was good. Heck qualifies as it's
our year. That well, it was more of a year
than the other years have been. You know. Look, Okay,
it's just like the NFL draft, right, every year somebody
(08:20):
goes number one, Right, Some years Andrew Luck goes number one,
some years Cam Newton goes number one, and some years
Aidan Hutchinson will go number one. I mean, it's what
it is. I mean, you got some years are sometimes
it's Michael Oloa Candy going number one. Man, I do
want to say this, uh tie shirt with with your
(08:41):
James Dolan sound I don't think there's any way Dolan
actually knew the Knicks were playing, so I mean, I really, really,
I don't think he would be talking. He didn't know
they lost. He just said they're shutting him down. A
tour to go back, the world's opening up, a tour
to go on. Okay, j D and the straight shots
were out there a busy taking sound checks for two hours.
(09:03):
So this is really gonna be like one winning season
for the Knicks in about the last decade. Yeah, that's
what it's gonna be. Yeah, I mean, well, you know, look,
we'll hang a banner in the garden in ten years
to celebrate and Julius Randall and what that year was
will be a thirty for thirty where we thought the
Knicks were gonna be to coach the year last year
and yeah, yeah, yeah, a playoff game, but forget about that.
(09:25):
They made a great run. Sure, yeah, yeah, no, it was.
It was great. It was. It was so great. It was.
It was so great, and we're gonna What if I
told you that was the high point for the Knicks
for the last ten years. What if I told you
I just looked it up. In the last twenty years,
they've won one playoff series the Knicks. Yeah, yeah, yeah, No,
it's not been it's not been good. It's not been good.
(09:45):
What if I told you that win over the Hawks
in Game three of the first round series was the
last Knicks playoff win for a decade. What if I
told you, uh, well, it's the Knicks. So I'd say, yeah, no, no, no,
you are you are absolutely right, man. I just gotta
keep thinking good thoughts. I'm thinking, Hey, we got we
got softball game tomorrow, we got a fun soccer uh
(10:08):
the clinic tomorrow. We're going to see Batman. I just
gotta keep thinking all good thoughts, all good things, all
good things, and forget about the Knicks. That's what I
just forget about the Nicks. As the Nicks and the Baby.
This is the only Knicks that there are. If you're
stuck with there's not some alternative Knicks team you could
root for Mr New York. Oh no, sure they're stuck
(10:31):
with it. No. No. If I could jump into a
Marvel movie and I could go from from Earth to Earth,
you know, because now there's you know, the multiverses, I
would get to the Earth and I would I would
show up in the first thing. I would say, it's quick,
who's the NBA champion right now? And they would say,
the NBA champion? What do you mean? It's the Bucks?
Okay boom. I would go to another Earth. Who's the
(10:51):
NBA champion right now? The NBA champion right now? It's
it's it's the Suns. And then I would wait till
I get I probably have to go through like thousands
of earths, but I would get to the one where
it's are you kidding the Knicks? Man? They've won the
last three. This is where I'm living right here. I'm staying, Hey,
how are the Jets doing? Jets? Uh, what's that? Well?
The football planes? Is that what you're talking about? The
(11:13):
they'd say, what's what's football? Oh my god, I gotta
leave this earth now. Oh my god, there's no football. Okay.
When you in an alternate universe asked about the Knicks
and the NBA, they probably say, oh, yeah, the Knicks
have won because the regular seasons down to twenty games
and the rest is just playoffs. Everybody has a chance,
(11:34):
even the Knicks, and there's how you get your trophy.
That's how it's gonna have to happen. What's what what
happened is is that every other team in the NBA
had their arenas torn down, and everybody's playing in Madison
Square Garden. So the Knicks get a buy into the
finals every year, so they just have to win that
one round. New virus of some sort. It took out
half the Eastern Conference standing No, it's it's it's a
(11:57):
virus that just takes out the the the buildings. Hey,
no one can go inside them, so we all have
to play in Madison Square Garden. That's what has to happen. Out.
You know, good teams. You know, thankfully, bracket seasons right
around the corner, because you're like me, you need brackets. Uh.

I think the before time Batman, the the Batman. So
I think it's like a man of that, the the Batman. No, yeah,
(13:23):

says it's like Marvel meats seven. So that that's something
I can't get, Ready, Dad, what does it mean? What's
in the box? Oh? I can't tell you. But what's
(14:32):
in the box? Gwyneth Paltrow's head? What spoiler alert? WHOA
seven has been out for a long time, since been
around a long long so it doesn't doesn't matter. I'm
okay talking about a movie that came out in the nineties.
It's all right with that. I don't know, man, I
will tell you this, I'll be very disappointed if it
ends with Gwyneth Paltrow's head in a box again, I'm
(14:54):
Batman like that. I don't know what makes sense. That
would make sense. She's not even in the movie. She's
pepper pot. Yeah, her heads in a box? Okay? Top um.
So today in the NFL we got big Aaron Rodger
stuff coming up in a few minutes. But the Cowboys.
You probably saw the story earlier today that their plan
(15:16):
is to release wide receiver and Marie Cooper in the
coming days before the league year begins. And number one,
we've talked about this before. The Cowboys need to move
on from a lot of salary over the course of
the next year, and Cooper simply as the third best
receiver on the team. You can't pay the guy twenty
million dollars a year. Now. You shouldn't have paid him
twenty million dollars to begin with. But Jerry Jones just
(15:37):
has this desire to give people money when he's the
guy who's in charge of bringing them to the team.
If there's a guy that we draft that like Dak
who was a was a find for us at all. Look,
we turned Dak into a guy nobody else liked him.
But I gotta give Dac money. Well, I made the
trade for a Marii Cooper and he was good. Oh,
(15:57):
I have to give him money. I mean, this is Jerry.
This is his tragic flaw. I just give all kinds
of money to people I shouldn't give money to. It's
a salary cap league, Jerry. This doesn't matter. Well, look
how long the quarterback contract until he finally got one.
And how long that's you think The Aaron Rodgers thing
is going going along? Ways? The Dak Prescott story that
just that almost didn't end. No, no, I can't believe Easter.
(16:21):
We're still not talking about it, but we have to
talk about Aaron Rodgers. So look, we got to sign
this deal. Green Bay's over the cap and Dallas is
over the cap, and the Rams and man New Orleans
was way over the camp. And so is the ex
New Orleans coach going to become a Dallas coach sooner
rather than later in Cowboys history. Well, here's the thing. Now,
this is kind of a hot take, but this is
(16:42):
what the Cowboys absolutely need to do. Um. They need
to tank this year. The Cowboys need to tank and
set up a better three. Now follow me on this.
The Cowboys have been a team that for the past
few years has been good enough to win the NFC East,
but really not good enough to go anywhere past that.
You get to the playoffs and suddenly, boy, these teams
(17:03):
got a little bit more going defensively, they were offensively,
We're not nearly as strong as we thought we were,
and they wind up going home and the reason for
this is, Look, the Cowboys can't build a really good
team because they give too much top end money. Two
players that they are. We're gonna pay five or six
guys all kinds of cash, and then everybody else we're
(17:23):
gonna kind of fill in. You can't do it that way.
You can't give three offensive line in twenty million dollars year.
It doesn't work. You can't pay a running back sixteen
million dollars years. It's Berry movie that you were talking
about a few weeks ago. You pay Halle Berry and
maybe one other person. You don't have any money left
for the rest of the team. No, and then when
no one goes to see Moonfall, look what happens. You
don't make your money back? And Halle Berry is going,
(17:45):
what about my money on the back end? Sorry, this
is not endgame you. You're not getting any money on
the back end of this. The Cowboys need to tank
because they right now are sixteen million dollars over the
salary cap. So if they shed this salary by Amari Cooper,
they're just a couple of million dollars under it. You're
not gonna get better. You're not gonna spend this year
(18:08):
getting so much better to make a super Bowl run.
Now you're still gonna wind up being good because you
have a good quarterback, you have weapons on offense, and
Ceedee Lamb is really good. Your offensive line is still good.
You're not gonna take a large step backwards. But if
you tank this year, and this means, let's let's find
a way to find a way to trade Amari Cooper.
If you can just get anything for the guy, um
(18:30):
you know or just you get, you're you're getting out
from under his money. Same thing for Ezekiel Elliott. Try
to trade Ezekiel Elliott, get whatever you can draftwise for him.
There's teams that need running backs. You think the Bills
wouldn't give a whole bunch of stuff for Ezekiel Elliott.
All the Bills need is a running back. That's all
they're missing. So you could shed salary and get draft picks.
I would move on from de Marcus Lawrence who which
(18:51):
you can after May first and save more money. If
you can do this and you gain whatever extra draft
picks you can, you get out from under a lot
of contracts, then get through this season. You will let
Mike McCarthy go higher Sean Payton is your head coach,
and now you are walking into next season with Sean Payton,
(19:13):
Dak Prescott, a ton of money, You have more draft picks,
and now you can build the team you need to
and become a Super Bowl contender immediately. Because Sean Payton,
the one thing that is in it is indisputable about him.
Everybody that's ever played on his offense skill position wise,
had the best years of their careers. Anybody Sean Payton
(19:34):
put a quarterback succeeded, whether it was Drew Brees or
Bridgewater or Taysom Hill, Jamis Winston, they all played well.
All the wide receivers that he had all played really
well with New Orleans and when other places and they disappeared.
But guys like Lance Moore and Deverie Henderson, Marcus Colston,
all Jimmy Graham, they were phenomenal with the Saints. They
go someplace else and they're just guys. You know, he's
(19:55):
got the system, he knows what he's looking for. You
can take a step back into twenty two to take
that large step forward in three, and it's not like
you'll be awful this year because taking for the Cowboys
and just let's we're getting rid of salary, we're trading
guys we don't need, because you'll look at the same
production out of Tony Pollard you'd get out of Zekiel Elli.
You want to draft somebody and then to drect, go
ahead and knock yourself out. Get a running back in
(20:17):
the draft and team up with Tony Pollard and see
what happens. But if you do that, you're still gonna
be in the mix to win the NFC East. Because
the NFC East is bad. But this time next year
you are going to be in position to make all
kinds of hay and become a Super Bowl contender immediately.
So I'm the Cowboys. I absolutely tank this year and
go for everything next year. It was only a couple
(20:38):
of years ago that the champion of the NFC East
had a record under the mark. So you could regress
Dallas Cowboys from your twelve and five to what eight
and nine type of record, and you know you can't
tank in the NFC each you're still in contention with
two weeks left in the season. I think most years
(20:58):
that's proven. Look at to have ellen Alphia looked in
the playoffs and what little offense they had in a
lot of games, and that was a playoff team Philadelphia
this past year. So the word tank is a little
harsh for what it would mean in the nitty gritty
of an actual season. As you go through the months,
you could still contend even making some moves now, and
(21:18):
you would contend after said moves. However, Jerry Jones is
still running this team. He's still his own general manager.
And you're asking for smart, forward thinking decision making. Are
we going to get that? Yeah? Well, yeah, well that's
that's uh, you know, that's that's Jerry Jones. But once
in a while he needs to go for the bigger
(21:39):
name head coach, just because he can't keep going for
the no name guys that he can control. Right, We've
seen that, and once in a while I'll do it
Bill Parcels, But then it's a bunch of guys I
can control. Um Peyton is a guy that's gonna come
in and you know the fact that he wants to
be you want to be the Cowboys head coach. Jerry
Jones is gonna love that. He's gonna make it seem
like I brought Sean Payton into Dallas and he's gonna
(22:01):
give Sean Payton carte blanche to do what he wants to,
and he'll listen to him. I really, you know, Peyton's
a guy that's gonna walk in going okay, this is
what I need is what we need to do. And
Jerry Jones are gonna say, Okay, I do all the interviews.
So that's all cool. You did that movie, that Home
Team movie. That's fine, But I do all the interviews
and I get all the credited publicly. Yeah that's Frank, Jerry, Okay, great,
we'll do it. No, this will work. I mean, I'm
(22:21):
not saying it's gonna work forever, but it will work
for a few years. And I mean that the Cowboys
will become Super Bowl contenders right away and they'll get
guys out of the draft that Sean Payton's gonna turn
into great players offensively at running back and wide receiver.
I mean that it's really it's a step back to
take a step forward. But the step back isn't really
that big because you'll still contend this year. You're not
you're not setting seniors your team to We're not gonna
(22:43):
be three and fourteen and say well then we're gonna
get a pick in the top four. No, you'll still
be able to contend in that division because it's bad.
So that's that's kind of it's kind of a win
win for the Cowboys to do this. And what you've
gotten from Cowboys football in the last decade is you
had the three straight seasons of eight and eight and
then you won the division, but then four and twelve
the very next year, and then you won the division again,
(23:04):
and then nine and seven and no playoffs the very
next year, and then you won the division and then
again back to eight and eight and no playoffs the
very next year. Nothing has been sustained by this team
in the last fifteen years. It's a cycle of let's
do as much as we can. We want to sign
big players and still be able to compete, and you
(23:27):
can do that to an extent, but you can't get
next level. You just can't do it. When when when
you have, when you sign so many guys, top level guys,
top top edge guys to contract, you're the Cowboys. You
should not have to think we can bring up the
Lakers again. The Lakers still can sell a ton of tickets,
like during some bad seasons when Kobe was still playing
or this is turning out to be a horrendous season.
(23:49):
You see where I'm going with this. Why Because you're
the Lakers. You're not suddenly going to financially tank and
then have to, you know, start borrowing from cousins. You're
the Dallas Cowboys. I think you've got enough juice in
the area that, as we have seen before, you can
go four and twelve and people are still pumped about
Cowboys football in August and September. Rollaround Twitter out how

Green Bay, it's not Cleveland, Okay, it's it's not Miami.

(25:41):
de Seger in for Mike Harmon. So part of the
report we got tonight from NFL Network's Ie Rapp Report
was that Aaron Rodgers is still torn over what he
wants to do. You know, things are positive in green Bay,
but potentially there's another destination he might want to go to.
But it's really as it made up his mind. So
if it's like this, we I I told you it's
(26:02):
gonna end with him going back to the Packers for
one year and forty five million, and we're gonna do
this dance again next year and next offseason. But Ian
Rabbitport also had this bit tonight from the NFL Combine
in which he said that Denver is the destination for Rogers.
That's his preferred destination if he does ask for a trade.
(26:23):
And look, Denver was a team. Look we when it
happened last year, it's like Denver should go all in
on him. Denver did go all in on him, and
the Packers said, yeah, we're not ready to make that
move now. Denver would be a really good landing spot
for Rogers, right because just like it was for Peyton Manning,
he's gonna get ten more miles an hour on his
fastball in the mile I high air, and have you know,
he's gonna extend his prime even more. The thing that
(26:46):
sucks is you got to go through a pretty loaded
division that's murdered Mahomes twice a year Herbert twice a year.
That's gonna be pretty difficult. So while the Broncos look
they're a good team, and they look they've got good
weapons on offense, they have a good defense, Uh yeah,
there's there. It's a pretty good place to land. That
division is murder. And if you're Rogers and you know
(27:08):
you're going to the a f C and you know
you're going there, really the place to try to get
to it be Indianapolis. I mean, I know Nathaniel Hackett's
there and you played for him and you like it
and everything is great. But if you really want to win,
that's the one division that's not going to be incredibly
difficult for the next couple of years. All the other
divisions in the a f C are difficult because you
(27:28):
have up and coming quarterbacks at least two in every division.
But you get to the a f C South and
you have no idea if Trevor Lawrence is any good, right,
you have no idea fee is Ryan Tannehill? Is Ryan Tannehill,
and and and and you're thinking, all right, well why
not us? Then the Texans are starting over. They're gonna
play Davis Mills for a while. The Colts are super
(27:50):
Bowl ready. All they need is a quarterback. That's all
they need and everything else. They've got a great running attack.
You get the best running back in football, you got
a great offensive line, you got a good enough defense.
You can add another weapon because you know, the one
thing I can say is that the the wide receivers
are kind of pedestrian, so you need to add somebody's
still trying. T Y Hilton. I ask fantasy that you're
(28:13):
Gonnareggian Wayne to come back and play next year, But
you know, maybe that winds up being Davantae Adams going
with him. Right. So, but the Colts are absolutely loaded
and ready for a super Bowl run because their team
is good enough, and they play in a bad division.
And the one thing Rogers able to take advantage of
is that his entire run, he hasn't really had a
(28:33):
ton of competition. The lines have stunk every year. The
Vikings are up and down. The Bears are good, then
they're bad, the Bears are okay. You've been able to
make hey in a really bad division. So if you're
going to a really good one, chances are hey, you
could play just as well, but not even be close
to getting out of it or making the playoffs. Go
to the a f C South because that's where you go.
That's the team to be. You stay in the same
(28:54):
area of the country you became a star in. Go
to the Colts because it's gonna be the a f C.
Can be in the super Bowl this year if you
go there. And there's the follow up report tonight with
Mike Florio Pro Football Talk that if he doesn't stay
in Green Bay, that yes, the Broncos are one of
the teams on the list, and in fact the destinations
are believed to be exclusively in the a f C.
(29:16):
But his source said, Aaron Rodgers has present tense specific
deals lined up with other teams, and those teams have
trade compensation lined up with the Packers. The potential moves
have been arranged. It's just a matter of Aaron Rodgers saying, Okay,
yes I'm staying or know how about here, But the
(29:37):
rest of the stuff has been worked out. We're getting
closer to the new league year starting. We're already in March. Uh.
It's it's at this point for Rogers. If he's got
more than one, more than one or two, I'd be surprised.
I mean a lot of teams. There's a lot of
teams you want to go to. I mean, you're you
have deals with the with all these different teams, Pittsburger. Yeah,
(29:59):
I does he really want to go to Pittsburgh and
take over for Roethlisberger? I mean, there, it is, it is.
It's a but still it's right. You know, it's right.
He's gonna go take over for a guy that's going
to the Hall of Fame. There's certain teams that are
just like off limits for him because of that, right,
I mean, and Pittsburgh is one of them. He's not
gonna He's not gonna go there and and and take
over and and take over there. It's gonna be difficult.
(30:21):
Is he gonna try to find a way you can
trade with the Patriots? And and the Packers are gonna
get Mac Jones back. You're really gonna the Packers are
really gonna do that. We're gonna trade Aaron Rodgers to
Bill Belichick and and see and watch him go win
Super Bowls. I mean, they're gonna trade him. He's only
gonna go to a team that the Packers think that, okay,
we'll send him to a team that's good, but we're
not going to send him to a team that's that good,
(30:42):
and we're not gonna send him to a team where
he thinks that we think he can wind up being
even better. It's gonna be a marriage of convenience for
both of them, which is why there's only a couple
of landing spots, because I can't believe there's any in
the NFC, and they're not gonna trade him anywhere in
the unless Hey, you know, you want to go to
one of the you you want to go to one of
the worst teams in the NFC, that's fine, but you know,
there's not that many bad There's not that many teams
(31:04):
you can say, well, he can't rise, you know, raise
them up from a while. So there's only really gonna
be a couple of destinations, you know, as much as
any team would kick their quarterback to the curb for
Aaron Rodgers, as far as upsetting the apple cart and
doing it, at this point, I think there's only a
couple of teams and he's just got to decide, which
again makes the Broncos a possibility if he's not staying
(31:24):
in Denver, because it's a short list, as you say,
and I agree with no, there's no reason to send
him to any NFC team. Now it could be Vegas.

So coming up next, Remember when I told you, Steve,
how bad it was gonna be in the Nicks. You're
gonna wind up trading Julius Randall in the off season.
It's already gotten really bad after that craptastic loss tonight
to Phoenix. We got it for your next right here, Fox.
And also the Batman and and or just Batman or
(32:51):
a Batman a Batman? It would be Batman. But if
there was two Batman's, then it would be Batman, Batman Batman.
What about Man's bat made the Batman's. Hey, let's get
let's go see the bat I want to go see
the Batman's movie. That's how my grandfather would say it.
I am James Dolan. I'm shutting down the Knicks. He
(33:11):
doesn't know they played tonight. He has no idea. I'm
on tour. Come watch. Be sure to catch live editions
of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at
ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific Fox Sports Radio. The
Jason Smith Show was Steve de Sager in for Mike
Harmon and uh, you know funny thing today, Steve really weird.
I had a couple of people send me texts telling
(33:34):
me happy birthday today, and I'm like, Today's not my
brain not even close. My birthday is in November. But
people that I know in the industry that I talked
there like okay, they're sending me happy birthday text I'm like, okay,
today's not my birthday. What did someone change my Facebook
profile or something? Is there anything going on? And I
sent back to one of my friends. I'm like, oh, hey, hey, thanks,
(33:54):
I appreciate it. You're actually the first person to wish
me happy birthday because it's not till November. I appreciate.
He goes, oh my god, I'm so sorry. I meant.
I meant for Jason another Jason Smith. I go, whether
Jason Smith, do you know besides me? And it was
Jason Smith, the basketball player. Yeah, the former basketball play
played for the Knicks. It was his birth So people
just had Jackson Smith's birthday. Oh, so I'm gonna wish
(34:15):
him and they know both of us, and so they're
wishing me happy birthday. And then the Knicks went out
on the court and wished you specifically a happy birthday.
In fact, as Julius Randall got kicked out at Phoenix
and the Suns came back and one his coach, Thibadeau said,
you can't cross over that line. You gotta know where
to stop. None of us is perfect. We're gonna make mistakes,
(34:36):
but we gotta be disciplined. The headline of the New
York Post, as I told you how this is gonna
be it for Julius Randall. They're going to trade him
in the off season. Tonight was the last straw, getting
thrown out of the game, the Knicks loss of the
buzzer on a on a bank three and the guy
that he tried to fight scored thirty eight. Yeah, that
was the night for the next off the bench. Yes,
the New York Post headline, Julius Randall's ejection dooms Knicks
(34:58):
to gut wrenching buzzer eater lost to Sons. It sums
it up, and that's seven straight losses for the Knicks,
and the Knicks were ahead by fourteen. Randall gets kicked
out and back come the Sons, who were playing without
Devin Booker still in health protocols, and of course without
Chris Paul due to the broken thumb. If you're looking
for a silver lining for the Knicks, at least it's
(35:20):
not their fifth straight game blowing a fifteen point lead
because they only led by fourteen. Remember the last four
games they all had fifteen point leads and they blew.
At least this was fourteen, So that's progress. I guess uh.
And Obi Toppin was a late scratch, never got on
the court, strained hamstring. The Knicks have now lost the
seventh straight, but still not as bad as Houston, which
(35:41):
has lost twelve in a row. But the way the
nixt lost is just there. There are a thousand things
you say. If they just did this one thing, the
next would have been seriously, make the free throw at
the end, right, it's just a few seconds left, and
the Burkes miss gives and then the missed offensive rebound
own gives Phoenix a chance to come up court. That's
(36:03):
Knicks basketball. That is Knicks basketball. On the promo when
you're selling season tickets next year, come see this. You're
gonna see this forty times probably. How many gut wrenching
ways can your team lose? Right here? This is it
right here? Just oh my goodness, Almos heard called a
(36:23):
lot of suns game Thompson for three. Ya got a
Cam Johnson from three point range nine of twelve, including
that game winner banked. I mean, it was just it
was It was just lucky. It was just a lucky play.
And what I can't get over to it was a
bad basketball play because Campaign with less than two seconds
(36:45):
left passing the ball behind him ten ft behind the
three point and that's not a smart play. That's like, oh,
we're gonna win, but no, no, no, I'm gonna bank
it in because I've been that hot tonight from thirty
three feet that gives Campaign sixteen as this on a
night where they did not have Chris Paul, so they
didn't have the big score and this guy off the
(37:05):
bench had the game winner and big scoring numbers. They
didn't have Chris Paul, they had big, big assist numbers
from Pain and they were both involved in that final play.
Always remember I exist so you can feel better about
your teams, because your reaction is going to be I'm
glad I'm not a Knicks fan boy. I feel bad
for Jason. I am here for thanks to a bunch
(37:27):
of EVO great stuff, my friend, great show. Brian knows next.
This is Fox or Batman,
