(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Radio The
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. Welcome
inside our three good ahead to Vegas. Coming up in
about twenty minutes. Find out who the darlings are as
we get into the end of championship weekend here in
(00:44):
college basketball and where some quarterbacks might end up as
the quarterback carouselk goes. But uh, you know, it's it's
it's kind of surprising because tonight we had a big milestone.
We got a big story out of college basketball speak
of that coming up in a couple of minutes. But uh,
it's been really weird that we had an unbelievable milestone
(01:04):
in sports tonight and really the last few days, and
nobody's cared about it. Tonight. It's not been a great
season for the Spurs. Hasn't been a great last couple
of years for the Spurs. However, Greg Popovitch has gotten
into rarefied air with the Spurs win on Friday nights,
and with tonight's win, Gregg Popovitch has surpassed his good
(01:25):
friend Don Nelson with win number one thousand, three hundred
sixty six, the most coaching wins in NBA history. Congratulations
to Greg Popovitch. As the Spurs have the feat at
the UTL Jazz the final score Spurs one oh four,
Jazz one oh two. So there it is. First radio
network on the call. Nobody has cared. This has been
(01:47):
a non story. It has been something that, oh, Pop,
it's gonna have the most wins. If this was the NFL,
if if Andy Reid was on the cusp of becoming
the winning is coach, Bill Belichick is on the cusp
of the being the winningest coach ever. We are going
all over ourselves to try to hey, look at this story,
is he really the best? Who are the best? But
instead here's Greg but the winning is coach in NBA history. Yeah, no,
(02:12):
it doesn't matter. We yeah, we don't care. It's nice
and that's nice. For pop that's great. Yeah, it doesn't matter. Yeah,
I look at it, and I wonder on some level
how much of it And I dare say this and
and risk angering folks that when you get to uh
a stat aggregation, it's like how many titles you win?
Right that? And and pomps don't share a winning don't
(02:33):
get me wrong. But like you look at some of
the other guys on the the NBA list, like, all right,
they one consistently and coached for a long time. But
were they dominant? You know, It's like we do with
you know, Hall of Fame players and all time players, like,
but were they the most dominant? Right? Because you look
at the other members up there? One Popovich did this
(02:57):
in three hundred few games, So that's four full seasons,
almost almost four and a half when it's all said
and done over Nelson, then Lenny Wilkins thirteen thirty two,
Jerry Sloan one, Well, we know he didn't get over
with Utah, right, And then you get to pat Riley,
then George carl and then Phil Jackson, your guy Larry Brown,
(03:21):
and then Rick Adelman. Well, why isn't my guy Larry Brown?
Why is he Because we're still because the Knicks are
still paying him. Is that? And then you've got Doc
Rivers is the last of the thousand win coaches. He's
got a thousand thirty two. Like guys were better, I'd
have more. I'd have double what pop has. But it's
not my fault. I mean, I I coach best I
(03:44):
Ken every night. I shouldn't have a loss at all
in the regular season. I should have all wins, but
my guys don't play well. When they play well, they win.
That's great. It's it's all because of me. But you know,
when they don't, that's all because of them. I should
have three thousand wins right now. I should have as many.
I should be in the cal Ripken club with all
those games he played consecutive. I should have more than that.
Should be right there, nicely done. Way to extrapolate that. Yeah,
(04:07):
I just wonder, you know, to some degree, and look
at say what fifty five and a half percent winning
winning percentage for for Nelson in his career, A little
obviously better for for Popovich. So to that end, I
think there there's something lost, right because it's also something
(04:27):
that has to happen. And you say, well, congratulations on
coaching that long and it takes nothing away from Don Nelson,
right his team has won a lot of games, which
is why we're talking about this at all. But I
think it's one of those that just it's it's that
long road to it, and particularly for pop for this year,
a lot of pageantry after a lot of hugs and
(04:47):
excitement from his players, cool videos. I think people had
moved on from Popovich since the Spurs a couple of
years ago was the end of their run as one
of the contending squads. I don't know that it would
be even if they were good, people would pay attention.
They are the top of the West. Wople would pay
attention when I think if they were first or second
(05:08):
in the West, because we'd be talking about them. We're
not talking about them now because they think, I don't know,
I don't know how much do we talk about them.
When they were winning championships, they were the most boring team,
and that we talked about how boring, We're so boring. Yeah,
and then we were done because after you're talking about
how boring. So we got into the life that that
was for Tony Parker. We got into that a little
(05:30):
bit what did Tebow do today? You know, I you know,
I remember that Tony Parker even on Goria Wedding and
Iron because this is not in the infancy of blogs
when it for but I remember going, you know, going
to blogs every day looking for the weird stories. And
now you don't need to do that. Those dot com Yeah,
I go to Ben Mallard dot com all the time.
I was featured on Ben mallow dot com. That was
(05:52):
producer prep. But like Bend Ben's page, all right, Ben's Prep,
Ben's page, works by Brooks was a big one. Uh,
all the different ones you would go and you would
find and you would find some crazy story and it
would wind up everywhere. Right, every show would do it. Oh,
this is interesting and different. I'm gonna do this story.
You know, the stories about like how when David Garrard
(06:14):
was the quarterback of the Jaguars, he was doing a
radio show that he stopped doing because he wasn't getting
paid or some crazy like that. I'm going, this story
is everywhere. That story would even get reported now, but
now all that story is everywhere because it's on a blog, right, Oh,
it's on a blog. And I remember when Eva Longorian,
Tony Parker when you get married. I'm going this is
so tremendously overcovered. I can't get over the number of people.
(06:35):
Do do we really care this much about Tony Parker
and Eva Longoria? Seriously, it was one of the biggest
things going. Man. But I mean, come on, it's Tony Parker.
It's Tony Parker. I mean know what? And he said
something san Antonio it was did people really care that much?
I can't believe they did. He was winning and she
(06:58):
was winning in the ratings and winning in the hearts
and minds. It wasn't happening. Well now now you have
to reach to to make that happen. But congratulations to
Greg Popovich. You know, well learned, even if he doesn't
get the credit and people don't think it's a big
story at congratulations, I felt brad because I felt like
(07:19):
I took a baseball bat to it. Because I just
mentioned all the NBA titles. The rest of those guys
didn't win. Gotta win with Flair. Gotta win with Flair, man,
you can't just wint him with Flair. This is me
expressing my flair. Okay, bracket seasons right around the corner

Indeed dot com slash credit. Well, here we are in
the midst of championship week in college basketball, and look
to be honest, because I call it like I see it,
I gotta call it straight. This has been a very
(08:00):
boring college basketball season. It's not. It's not been filled
with a lot of twists and turns. There's not been
the big national programs to gain our attention. College basketball
has had a very big regionalized year where the teams
are big regionally. But you know, do we care about
Duke as much? No, North Carolina. It's just not. And
and this is part of the trend of college basketball
(08:21):
and that this is where it's going. And now with
Mike Sazewski's retirement, that could be his last game, could
be any day in the next week or so. Uh,
you know it's gonna be even tougher because Showski was
one of the true rock stars left in college basketball.
So to to make an illustrated point about this, what's
the most memorable thing from Championship Week so far? Leaving
(08:42):
it open that we could get some incredible stuff on
the weekend. Could happen, right, we get some stuff tomorrow.
It's on it. What's the most memorable thing from Championship
Week in college basketball? Buddyheim punching a guy in a
gut and get buddy, Northwestern getting absolutely blood by Iowa
that Buddy knock punched the guy. We're still playing in
(09:03):
Syracuse is winning and where the story where that's That's
one of the things in the multiverse that is definitely there. Hey,
can you give me am I on the Earth where
Syracuse just beat Duke in the a c C tournament. Yeah,
but they lost the next game. I'm going to the
next time, going to the next Earth. I gotta make
sure they're still winning. But I'm staying in the a
c C. As Boston College got eliminated this week by
(09:25):
Miami Mammy who got eliminated today by Duke, and senior
Steve Clifford of Boston College is playing in his final
game with the Eagles. You know the Eagles ended I
think oh in nineteen and a c C play, so
not a big year. Uh. He was asked what his
big memories going to be, and Steve Clifford got really
emotional and uh he hung his head for a while
(09:46):
and then gave an answer that you think I'm gonna
make fun of, but no, I completely dig what he said.
Take a listen because you are coming, and then I
go and if you know, chang, Yeah, no, it was.
It was difficult. It was you know, track g was
(10:07):
definitely where you wanted to go. Boston College was on
track age instead. Uh, here's Steve Clifford going through his
various emotions. Cliff what's your what are you gonna take
aways your best memory from playing basketball? Boston College down
for a long time, But it's that down for a
long time. Here you can do the standing ten and
(10:28):
fifteen county still not saying head down coming up in
a couple of seconds. Just now. It's very emotional. It's
happening very much. So yes, it's coming any second. What's
going on to eat? Going out to eat? That's Boston
College basketball right there. That that's the that's the n
(10:50):
c A season and nutshell, how could you sum up
your four years at Boston College. Man going out to eat,
and I'm like, okay, because I get that on two levels.
I get it on the micro level of hey, man,
I like going out to eat after games and stuff,
and I love I love going out to eat. But
there's also the macro level of going out to eat
with the guys. We didn't do a lot of winning.
Our team wasn't very good, but thirteen overall, I like
(11:12):
the guys on the team, and I like going out
to eat after. I mean, that's I I dig that answer.
What's your what are you gonna miss? The going out
to eat? If someone says to me, you know, many
many years from now, knock, what health of Jason? What
are you gonna miss the most? Man? I like going
out to eat. That's the answer I might give. I
love going up because I love you. Like ordering in
dinner when we were in the studio, Oh, I love
going dinner or whatever you were working. It's it's fourth me,
(11:36):
it's taco bell, it's fourth meal. Bring him. I want
to give them the credit. It was the local providers wings.
It didn't matter what the health rating was, it was
they were good wings. But you're going I get it
missed those wings. Those were good. We had a lot
of good times. You spent a lot of money on
food in the studio, did We saved a lot of
(11:56):
money the last year and a half not spending dry
an in and right now with the costs of inflation,
I mean, come on now, lust the Gasfornia, forget about
I'm waiting to find someone out there siphoning gas out
of my car at some point, Oh, Twitter and out
about a Fresca. Mike gets swollen down the Jason Smith
(12:18):
row with Mike car. Yeah, going out to eat. I
I'd miss that. I'd miss I'd miss all of that.
I would if I'm Boston College, I would have wanted
to hear something a little bit different, like hey, you
know the camaraderie team and but you know, I think
it was implied like we lost nineteen in a row.
But the food was good because you know, the restaurants
in Boston are really really good. I I dug that. Man,
(12:41):
we'd go to the BU campus all the time. They
would eat like kings there. This is great going out
to eat nothing basketball. He's just sitting there, sitting going
I can't say anything basketball. I get this team was
this team stuck. It was so bad. I couldn't stand it.
We're owing nineteen I but I can't. I can't say basketball.
I'd look ridiculous. I look at going out, going out.

That's indeed, dot com slash credit. Well, what team is
now favored to get to Shawn Watson? Stop with that,
A team is favored for Freddie Freedman. What are we
gonna see? What big upsets? Who's gonna be favored to
be the top seeds of the n c A tournament? Oh?
(14:51):
Nowhere better to go than the Vegas right now for
our insider, CBS Sports Insider to follow him on Twitter
at Todd Ferman, That is at Todd Ferman. Todd, what's happening?
But he's been a couple of weeks. How you have
been definitely good to catch up and Smith, I'm just
glad you decided to forego the play by play announcer
career path, electing to grace the airwaves, especially in the
(15:13):
late evenings with those dulcet tones. My friend, thank you man.
I appreciate that I could have been. I would have
been a great play by play guy. I really would
have been. I would have I would have just sent
the world up, but I didn't like to travel there.
Maybe there may be a great opportunity for you as
a retirement job. I'm sure there's a New York Mets
affiliate somewhere in Port St. Lucy or somewhere else on
the East Coast where you can take those eighteen to
twenty hour bus rides and relive the potential glory of
(15:35):
your youth that you decided to forego. Now. I can't
to do it all virtually now anyway, I'll have to
wait it out. In a few years, no one's gonna
travel anywhere, so I'm just gonna be I'll be doing
all these games from the comfort of my home. I
just gotta I think. See, I think they're gonna make
special accommodations, and they're gonna force you to be on
those eighteen hour bus rides at eighteen and nineteen year
old kids who only speak seven eight words of English.
(15:56):
All right, so let's let's kick things off. We'll get
to the tournament coming up in a couple of seconds.
But uh, here we are with DeShawn Watson getting his
legal situation resolved, at least to the point where uh
he could be traded as he's not going to face
any criminal charges. The top of that list favored now
is that Philadelphia is at Miami. Who's the top of
that list? You know, it's gonna be interesting to see
(16:18):
exactly how all of this unfolds. I don't think Miami
is as big as suitor in this Sweet Steaks as
they would have been before had they retained the services
of Brian Flores. Floors and Deshaun Watson have a great,
long standing relationship, and that was part of the thing
that made it so interesting when Pittsburgh decided to bring
him on the coaching staff, knowing the Steelers will have
a major vacancy at that position. When you look across
(16:38):
the NFL landscape, I think a lot of people are
saying the Seahawks, which I'm not quite sure where that's
coming from, knowing that they're clearly in rebuild mode. So
if I'm setting odds on Deshaun Watson landing spots, it
would probably be the Pittsburgh Steelers. I would throw the
Philadelphia Eagles up there as well, and I would rule
out teams like the Bucks and forty Niners potentially throwing
their hat in the ring if the price tag was right,
(16:58):
look at getting the forty nine miners into the mix
as it were. Well, as we look at the board
right this week, to a lot of movement, quarterbacks, suspensions
you name it, uh and league lees when it comes
to Watson. Uh. When we have the all too early
future's odds, did did you see any any change based
on these this movement for folks laying down some some dollars, Yeah,
(17:22):
that we have. I mean you're talking about the Denver
Broncos obviously upgrading the quarterback position, acquiring Russell Wilson. So
they're odd despite the grueling path that have to go
through not only in the a f C West, but
the a f C overall. So their odds get reduced
from upwards of forty two one in some books down
in that fifteen eighteen to one range. You of course
saw the Seattle Seahawks odds leak back out nobody's views
(17:42):
them with Drew lock where Gino Smith potentially as they're
starting quarterback, a viable threat to win the Lombardi Trophy.
The Washington football team six one before they acquired Carson Wentz.
Their odds go out to seventy five to one once
they get their quarterback of the future, and the more
interesting move on the Indianapolis Colt thirty to one to
win the Super Bowl. We have no idea who's going
(18:02):
to start for them, but oddsmakers believe it will be
an upgrade over Carson Wentz. Their price down a one
all right, odds, So when when we get to the
n c A Tournament, Now, obviously that you know we're
gonna look at the teams at the top and no
Duke likely is going to be a top seed, and
we're trying to figure things out the rest of the
way because for the most part, it's been a pretty
forgettable college basketball season. What are some big things you're
(18:24):
gonna be looking for You're gonna be seen as we
get into selection Sunday. I think it's how you handle
teams that have good records and we're conference champions but
have struggled down the stretch. Most notably Auburn. Of course,
they lose outright today to Texas A and M. And
when you look at their record away from home, just
one and four in their last five games, you wonder
if current form will be waited more heavily than their
full season body of work. Another team like Providence who
(18:46):
has defied the odds and you look at the advanced metrics,
barely a fringe top forty team, but they did win
the regular season in the Big East and they've been
inside the top fifteen for the pole. So it's gonna
be fascinating to see how the selection committee goes about
balancing some of those advanced metrics versus the overall resume.
Because you have teams like a Murray State who may
not have beaten teams hailing from the Power Five, but
(19:07):
you dig into some of their numbers, no reason that
they shouldn't be inside the top thirty, along with potential
Mountain West champion in Boise State, as well teams like
Illinois early out in the Big Ten tournament. Uh, how
much when we when we weigh those and start looking
at seating and how much that matters towards the path?
(19:27):
You know, does does that move dollars and cents here
these last couple of days, it definitely will. You'll look
at the future's odds now and you'll see teams that
have their prices either raised or lowered based on the
potential road that they would have to go through to
winning a national championship. And that's why we always say,
you know, this time of year, it's not the seating
number that matters nearly as much as the matchup and
(19:47):
to a certain extent, geography. Teams that are gonna play
closer to home that can have their fan bases travel
and create a little bit more of a home field advantage,
so to speak, will definitely be the beneficiary. But you
have to imagine that Gonzaga first and foremost will be
the top protected seed, and they've earned that honor. We'll
see if the Zags can finally get over the hump
and win their first elusive national championship and program history.
(20:08):
Vegas insider Todd Ferman with us here on Fox Sports
Radio The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmen, former O's maker,
co founder Bet the Board podcast, analyst for CBS Sports HQ,
who asked his big question on Twitter this week, what
is the acceptable time to wait past your appointment time
when you're in the doctor's office. What was the most
popular answer you got for that, Todd, I got some
(20:29):
nasty messages from friends and families that are in the
medical profession that they said, there is no correct answer
that for good doctors, you wait as long as humanly
possible because you never know what they're dealing with. But
as far as the Twitter masses were concerned, they said
about a half hour to forty five minutes. But there
I think actively seeking out some sort of updated information system,
much like the airline that if your doctor is running behind,
(20:51):
you don't have to check in ninety minutes before the
flight schedule to take off. Yeah, I don't know that
I would ever leave Harmon. I don't know that I
would ever leave. There's certain appointment, so I would leave.
You don't get to me in time, and I get
really mad and goes, this is ridiculous, and I would leave.
I don't know that I would do that, because if
I'm in the doctor's office, I need to see a doctor.
I don't know I'll come back someone there and I
am I there for a physical? Am I there for
(21:12):
something I've scheduled, or am I there because well, there's
a sense of urgency that I needed to go and
find myself in that waiting room right time. I mean,
I think that's kind of what we're talking about here.
They're they're all extenuating circumstances, and I think everyone has
to be taken on a case by case basis. But uh,
in most particular instances, like you guys said, if it's
for a checkup, you can always reschedule that a week later.
(21:33):
But if you're seeing a specialist because you're having shortness
of breath, I'd probably recommend staying in the waiting room
a little bit longer than fifteen minutes to see that
particular doctor that and don't hit that extra cheeseburger on
the way home. Hey, major League Baseball finally got back together.
Who cashed out? In terms of how long the lockout
would would you know? There were some props out there
in terms of one opening day would be pushed back
(21:54):
to And most books didn't even list a date in
April when the CBA talks broke down about a we
could go. So I'm interested to see if some of
the folks operating in those nether regions uh south of
the United States will end up paying any of those
tickets out they'll treat it as a refund. But may
it was the overwhelming favorite of plus a dollar seventy five.
So I think baseball fans have a lot of reason
(22:15):
to be optimistic knowing that the will get the full
hundred sixty two games schedule with some doubleheaders smattered in there,
pushing opening day back only a week alright, So with
all the stars potentially signing, we got the big story tonight.
Freddie Freeman getting wooed by the Dodgers have a big
offer to him. The Yankees are also on the table
for him. Where does he end up? I still think
(22:35):
Freddie is gonna end up back with the Braves. I'd
make them, you know, right around and even money favorite
to retain his services. But if you're Freddie Freeman, you
owe it to yourself to go out there after having
brought that World Series championship to Atlanta, to flirt with
some of the other suitors. See what kind of money
the Dodgers or Yankees will puny up for your services.
But it is always interesting when you look at some
of the big blue bloods and all to talk about
(22:56):
major League Baseball in the economics, not penciling the Yankees
and Dodgers will never or be swayed by the luxury tax.
Something that I think you can look forward to, Smith
is Steve kne goes deeper into that pocketbook to try
and turn the Mets into at least in eighty five
win baseball club. I just want to see shures are
on the mound actually wearing sunglasses like he was when
he was doing some toss earlier today. I think that
would be a menacing look. You know, I'm sure if
(23:18):
it didn't pose a safety risk, they would try and
find some sort of creative way to go out there
with style, sell a little bit of gear. Maybe put
a QR code somewhere on the front of your jersey
that would allow people to buy those particular set of
shades somewhere in New York City that Scherzer was sporting
at least during his warm up pitches. EA, Jenny, Listen,
He's gonna be shirtless at the end of the year,
celebrating the World Series. That's what's gonna happen. Okay, just
(23:40):
stopped with that. I thought is going to end. I
thought you said he was gonna be celebrating a Dominican series,
And I figured you realized at this point in his
career he didn't have to play winter Ball's He's on
too inter at Todd Furman, that is, at Todd Furman,

your time and putting, appreciating your quotes. We'll talk to

remainder of conference Championship week and look forward to selection Sunday.
See you, buddy, bet the Board podcast all your news

(24:25):
of course, of course he'll be. He'll be on call
for us. He'll be on retainer for all week for
us next week. What does this chaos mean in this game?

today I told her I did a hit with Amy
Dash for her website for League of Justice dot com.
We talked about DeShawn Watson more and him coming up.
Nick Ferguson was on the show with us. He comes,
you know, former player played for the Jets, played for
the Broncos. And one of the conversations we got into
he we were talking about DeShawn Watson. He says, you know,
(25:07):
there's a lot of talk here in Denver because he
does he does a radio show in Denver, and he said,
people are asking did the Broncos jump the gun by
making the trade for Russell Wilson? And I stopped. They said, wait, wait, wait, seriously,
this was the best trade in the NFL we've seen
in years. And two days later it went from we
got Russell Wilson. Then it's hey, man, did we jumped
(25:27):
the gun and making the trade for Russell Wilson in
two days and went, oh, we got run Wilson. Oh,
maybe we jumped the gun making the trade for Russell Wilson,
but legitimate no, no, look at a good question though,
I think, you know, for for Ferguson and and certainly
for the Denver Talkers. As much as you want to
(25:48):
celebrate the arrival of Wilson, and obviously it's exciting. Uh,
you know, change is good, especially when you've you look
at your roster and to some some people's eye is
they could be a contender just like that. I still
think it's a long road to that. But that's okay,
that's why they play the games. But when you look
at it from an age and where Deshaun Watson was
(26:13):
before he sat out one season. Yeah, if you were
to tell me, hey, he's gonna have to give up
six to eight games and then contracts already in place
for a couple of years and he's what twenties seven
or whatever he is, yeah, I think I might be
looking around, going I might rather have that guy. But
(26:34):
you know, if I don't know that you're gonna get him,
it's like, oh, we would have got him. No, you
don't know that you would? You do? You do? Now,
that's the problem is you had to make the decision
that day you're in or you're out right, because there
was a talk that it was still the Aaron Rodgers
is waiting, and then Aaron Rodgers made his decision, and
then the Broncos and Russell Wilson at my signal unleash
(26:56):
Hell came very shortly thereafter to take the rest of
that news cycle. But I think it's kind of entertaining.
It's like, could we have waited until Friday? No, you
would have ended up holding the bag because what if
he didn't want to go play in Denver? Right? Exactly? Yeah,
I mean that that's the thing is that you, oh,
we should have got him. No, you had a guy
that you made the move for that was awesome, but now, oh,
(27:17):
we could have had another guy who might have been better,
and you have no idea if he wanted to go there.
They should not be able to get Russell Wilson. After
this actoul, people go back into a time hest and
take Russell Wilson away from the Broncos and now go, hey,
do you feel okay about it? Now you don't have
you don't have Wilson, You got all the draft picks
and no a fanback. Do you really feel good about
going to get to Shawn Watson because you're not getting
Russell Wilson. They would go, oh, I kind of feel
(27:40):
bad Wilson. Hey, Hey, it's just a thought piece. That's
all it is. It's it's the bubble like in a
cartoon over ahead going maybe, And that's that's really what
it's all about. I mean, that's look, man, they have
to he's not playing football until September. You got a
lot of airs time to film between now and then,
(28:03):
so you think like it's a think piece about a
mid level band coming to grips with stardom in the
harsh light of on twitter at how about a fresco
Mike and swallow down The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmen,
speaking of Deshaun Watson now that he looks like he
could play again, where could he end up? We'll tell
you coming up next right here. Fox. Be sure to
(28:25):
catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike
Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the i Heart Radio app Fox
Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. Uh, we got big stuff from Lebron James
coming your way in about ten minutes. Is he about
to drop a fifty burger? Fifty burger on the Wizards.
(28:51):
But we talked about Deshaun Watson and now that he
has had the criminal charges uh not dropped but refused
to be filed against him. His road back to the
NFL just got a little more clear. Uh. He's got
the civil cases that are going on right now, and
clearly that's going to be the focus. But many teams
were waiting for the criminal aspect to get dropped or
(29:13):
him to get past it. So now you can start
negotiating for Deshaun Watson. Well, if you had to figure
out where he's gonna end up there you know there's
not as many teams as you think, because not many
teams have the first round picks to trade. Not many
teams want to be in the Deshaun Watson business for
obvious reasons. What's going on. Still accused of of indecent
behavior by twenty two women during massages. But still Deshaun
(29:38):
Watson is going to be somebody that a team is
gonna want to go get. And if I had to
tell you and handicap where it's gonna be, there's really
only one choice, and that's Philadelphia. The Eagles have been
in on Deshaun Watson from the beginning all the way
through last year. In the middle of the season, there
was the report they were ready to trade for him,
which really wasn't that accurate because you know, he still
(30:00):
was suspended. It wasn't getting any clarification or he still
had this this legal situation happening, wasn't getting any clarification
on it. Now that he's got this, they've been the
team that's been around a long time. They've been the
one that's been in on Watson from the start. They
have always lukewarmly tried to believe in Jalen Hurts. But
(30:21):
the minute he becomes available, and now Deshaun Watson's available,
that's who they're gonna go get. There's experience with them
as well. They are They had Michael Vick after the
dog fighting scandal and that worked out okay enough for them,
so they do have experience with it. It might not
be it might not be as big a a a
deal in Philadelphia as it would be in other cities
(30:41):
because of that um, but generally speaking, all the all
the the tension that they've had on him, they've been
the team that's been around him for a while. And
when that happens, Deshaun Watson knows they believe in me,
they want to go get me. Uh Yes, that's where
I want to go. I can go to a division
that's pretty easy right now. The cow Boys aren't great,
that the Giants stink, Washington stinks. They got Darson White,
(31:03):
so I'm pretty happy, I would say of all the
other teams, yes, New Orleans just is keeping an eye
on things, and the Panthers might be able to make
a move. But Philadelphia just has everything that they need.
They have the draft picks, they have the experience with
the situation like this, and they've been the team that's
been most in on Watson from the beginning. He's gonna
end up with Philadelphia. Yeah, obviously a lot of turnover
(31:26):
in terms of who's running things, and for Nick Sirianni,
second year coach, be curious to see, you know this
type of shift. But you know, the big thing is
who has the assets and where does DeShawn Watson want
to go? Is the larger thing is one of the
few guys in the league with the full on no
trade clause, it doesn't matter. You can bring in me
(31:48):
the great dossier and here's a list of all the
restaurants and an available housing near near to where you
want to be. All the hot spots in City, X,
Y or Z. He didn't want to go there, and
he's lukewarm based on the roster, what he's heard of
coaches or whatever else. It doesn't matter. So that like,
that's the big thing for Philly obviously, the three number
(32:09):
one picks that they've got for this year's draft in
a lukewarm quarterback class. I've seen some mock drafts starting
to say, you know what, Malik Willis was really good.
We like the guy, we love the professionalism, we love
you know, just who he is, and and think he
could be a guy. I've seen him mocked all the
way up to Carolina at six. Now, yeah, like I
(32:30):
look the quarterballs. Well yeah, but this goes from yeah,
there might not be a first rounder. Two, Hey, he's
number six overall, so that's what they could do. So yeah,
for Carolina, you know the talk of trading McCaffrey. Well,
if he's not there, does Deshaun Watson want to go there?
Or if he's got to be part of the hall
(32:52):
to bring Watson? I mean, that's you know, your number
one weapon. I love d J. Moore and company, but
come on now, uh and next lot the stuff. So
I you've got a limited number. Pittsburgh's interesting right. Lodge
makers had them near the top and been a lot
of talk of no, they wouldn't be in based on
who they are. Whatever. It's like, well, things change, data changes,
(33:14):
and you try to get to the bottom bottom of
it and try to figure out where truth is and
all of this a lot of destinations. I'm telling you
Philadelphia that they just it's like a beacon. Uh for Watson.
We'll have more on Watson coming up, but straight ahead
is it fifty for Lebron We'll tell you next. This
is Fox
