(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Hello and welcome inside
our two of The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon. The night in the NBA getting pretty
interesting right now Without Luka don Sich. The Mavericks lead
(00:44):
the Jazz by twelve yeay through the third quarter eighties
seven seventy five. Jalen Brunson twenty points a guy who's
thankfully for him. His contract is up in the offseason.
He's gonna get a lot of cash. Sixteen a game
are in the regular season now he's been a frequent
(01:04):
twenty point thirty. Gave him a forty burger. I mean
they got some big performances out of him. Wait wait, wait,
forty burger. But the Mavericks bench, they got three guys
and double figures. They are taking it to the Jazz
and I'll tell you this, the Jazz flame out in
this first round. This is the last time you see
(01:25):
Donovan Mitchell as a member of the Utah Jazz. You
could do it with every passing day you can tell
how much he has had it. And he's gonna he's
gonna be the first guy in the off season to
say I want out. Before Zion. He's gonna say I
want out, and it's gonna be get me someplace else. Nicks.
You know, there could be a lot of destinations for him.
Nick's no many player, but he's gonna want out. He's
(01:46):
gonna be the He'll be the first. Like I said,
as much as I tell you Zion is gonna make
that demand. He's gonna be the first guy to say, Yep,
not working out. I want out, and there's gonna go
Donovan Mitchell. It'll be a big bidding war for him
because he is that good. But he is so disenfranchised now.
You could just see in his body language the last
few weeks in Utah. This should have been a year
(02:07):
where they're at the top of the West, right, This
should have been They're healthy, they got everybody. I think
Mitchell is back and go bear. This is a really
good team, and here they are struggling again the middle
of the pack in the regular season, and now here
they are gonna go down, most likely go down to
one to a team without Luka dontag. That's pretty embarrassing,
and that's gonna be the last straw. Well. I mean, also,
(02:28):
you're you're looking at Quinn Snyder right and wondering, you
know what, what his longevity. Obviously, the jokes are plentiful
across Twitter, a lot of them perpetrated by guys in
our building. I gotta be honest in their Twitter accounts,
but I give them their love. Here Uh talking about
how both uh Snyder and Nick Nurse are doing everything
they can to look incompetent so they get fired and
the Lakers might be roped into hiring them. So you
(02:51):
got that going for you as well. But you know,
in this game, the Mavericks six guys and double figures, right,
getting great work and once again hitting fifty percent from
three point range. He said, oh it's not gonna last.
I'm not gonna do it again. Now there they are.
I mean, exactly the opposite of what you said with
your nets and Kevin Durant can't have it again. And
(03:14):
then tomar DeRose and I wasn't gonna shoot six for
twenty five again and he didn't. Comes out with a
forty one uh point effort against the Bucks. Uh. And
then now the Mavericks once again finding the stroke from
beyond the arc uh and just taking care of his
once again five turnovers uh two minutes left in the
third quarter. Remember they had three uh in the last
(03:34):
game total. Uh. Twitter, and how about a fresca Mike
gets swollen? Do him the Jason Smith Show with my

limitations they do apply. We'll have more n b A
on the way. And before we get into a big
moment from baseball today where everybody on the planet hated
the Yankees uh TI shirt, you have something special for
us from now on when we bring up the Mike
Tyson airplane story, is right, Okay? So now this is
that you're you're telling me that this is gonna be
(04:15):
like intro to when we want to talk about Mike
type like I should say, hey, and now to Mike
Tyson and you play what you play? All yeah, let's
let's practice right, let's practice it. Okay, alright, so hey,
let's get to the latest involving Mike Tyson on the
airplane today. Keeps going, baby, put a little feet behind
(04:45):
this tie shirt. You got what you need. That's pretty good, man,
I gotta say, I mean, that would be a DJ
said about DJ said, just keep that going, the the
the endless loops. That that's who worked on all the
last hour it took like you know, it's oh okay,
as he worked one for the last time. That's pretty good.
That's a pretty good intro to get to Mike Tyson.
(05:06):
I dig it. I'm loving that about it. I don't
know why, but I had the I had the flashback
to the when when he's playing that to the guy
in Friday the Thirteenth, Part two in the in the
wheelchair that killed and just keeps falling down the steps,
going do do do do do do do do do do?
(05:27):
Just keeps falling down the stairs. Oh boy, hey, we
gotta Friday the thirteen is coming up in a couple
of weeks. Oh, it's gonna be we do. I won't
be here, but I'm just giving you warning. You're taking
Friday the thirteen off. I am all right. Well, okay,
you're gonna put on a hockey mask and go camping?
Is that what you're doing? No, I'm going to a concert. Okay.
(05:48):
Who's who's playing? McCartney? Oh nice, Sheila McCartney. No, Jess,
Oh jests Jesse McCartney. He was in West see McCartney.
That's pretty good. You didn't think that's pretty good? Yeah?
And he was in swim fan. Yeah, I look at that.
Well you know, there you go? Was that Erica Christiansen? Right? Yes, yes,
(06:11):
very good, very good. Hey, let's talk about Mike Tyson. Sure,
you were late, you were late. You were late, you
were late. You got a touch of a button. It's
gotta be. Let's talk about Mike Tyson. Alright, I like
it again. I'm just the guy's falling down to stay
down the same time. Uh So today in Major League Baseball,
we nearly had history. Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers had
(06:33):
four chances for hit number three thousand against the Yankees.
Oh for three the first three times up, fourth time up, Hey,
this could be it. But the Yankees, owing to a
very good piece of baseball strategy, decided, you know what,
with two on, I think the right call here is
to walk Mcguel Cabrera intentionally to load the bases. Now
(06:55):
it wound up backfiring on them because the Tigers got hit,
winning the game three nothing drove in two runs. But
nobody in America Park was happy when Aaron Boone decided
to have Miguel Caberra walked. Take a listen. They wouldn't
dare walking. There'ld be there'd be a riot. They can't.
I think by rule, somebody's going for their three thousand
(07:16):
hit in first bases open, you are not allowed to
walk that better they are not, No, they are. Oh man,
if you're the manage the Yankees, what are you gonna do? Hit? Okay? Sure? Wow,
(07:37):
want a decision now? Good luck, Yankees, Get on your
team bus and getting out of here. Oh man, all
sorts of threats in the booth hell, getting on the
butts you we'll gonna get there. I'm gonna give you
a piece of my mind. Uh, you know what I'd
done If I was Aaron Boone, I had to come
out of the dug on set. You got three games
this weekend against Colorado. He's gonna get a hit and
(07:59):
one of them. Get off my back, all you jerks,
because yeah, I have no problem with that. That was
the right baseball move. It's a one nothing game. You
have runners at second and third. Yeah, you want to
try to get the force out whatever. Double Plague commented,
this is how you do it. I get that fans
are mad. I understand that, But Aaron Boone is not
going to potentially put a game in jeopardy because Miguel
(08:22):
Cabrera is gonna get hit number three thousand, Right, you
don't do it that way. That that's how it's done.
And I know Aaron Boone felt bad about it. I
know the Tigers fans felt bad. I would have felt
awful because if I have a ticket to this game,
how much it's gonna be worth if that happens and
you get three thousands hit and I have the ticket
and I got to see it, because hey, we've told
you many times you may not see a three thousand
hit member for another twenty years at least, so you
(08:44):
know this, this is gonna be the last time it happens.
So I I completely get it. But that's how that's
how it goes in baseball. That was the right strategy
to do. I know, nobody wanted to see him walked.
I didn't want to see him walk I wanted to
see him get to hit against the Yankees. So I can,
you know, call my dad all weekend, going, you gave
up three thousand of Cabrera. Uh, but I really I
I can't. I can't get upset about it. I understand
(09:04):
the emotion, but it was the right move to make.
That's it's a move any manager would make in baseball. Yes,
that that that is as simple as against You don't
get caught up in the emotion. Yeah, you know what,
let's really we want to give him the three thousand
hit opportunity here because it would be special to have
it against us, you know, the Yankees like the injecting
yourself into that narrative, like, yeah, we want to be
(09:28):
the team that gave it up and maybe cost ourselves
a game that will be important later on in the year. No,
come on, you know that the the division is going
to be a dog fight, right, It's gonna be a
battle of attrition. And then obviously who navigates their trips
to Toronto best. But you have an opportunity here. It's
(09:50):
it's baseball one oh one. You can be mad in
the booth bed like fans are always mad at intentional
walks or anything. Like. The strategy is baseball one oh one.
We see it all the time. Yes, even you smart
fans in St. Louis, you still boo the obvious. You know,
you know, you know. Hey St. Louis fans, they're the
(10:10):
smartest fans in baseball, right, just like hey, uh, Ryan
Fitzpatrick's a smart quarterback. Hey, Cardinals fans are the smartest
fans in baseball. Yeah. Yeah, I've been to a Bush
stadium a couple of times. They weren't the nicest fans.
They might have been smart, knowledgeable. It's not one of
my favorite fandom experiences. I went during the home run
(10:30):
chase in in UH and Uh it was it was obnoxious,
but I'll leave it at that. But I checked off
that box in the stadiums that I have visited UH
in my life. But it's it's the thing with with
Cabrera plenty. I mean it's early April, plenty of opportunities
to get that three thousands. I don't know what it
does for you. It's a Yankee fan. I I would
(10:51):
certainly love the ticket stub when it happens. Wherever it happens,
you know where you can still get a ticket stub. Man.
I got one from the Stones concert I went last October, uh,
and I will cherish it because I don't know what
I'm going to see another one when I take it. Stuff,
I mean the piece of paper you print out on
your computer that acts as your take. You know that.
That's why I get to keep that like And that's
(11:12):
the best part is that I can just keep printing
those out like I can. I can have one, I
can sell it. I can keep that one on my wallet.
It's great. I don't even know it's I don't think
the marketplace is going to treat those the same, but
you know, you can try, you can try. But I know,
I mean, there was there was a kiosk a while
ago at UH at the crypt formerly Staples where if
you wanted to print out a commemorative ticket. Once they
(11:34):
started going to paperless, it was like ten or fifteen bucks,
but they had a cool photo selected for your concert
or game, and then you'd print out the ticket with
all your details on it. Uh and and I think
that's become more commonplace. Some of the pr and marketing
teams for for squads have done that for special events
right after no hitters or big hits you know, first hits,
(11:57):
first home runs, whatever. So, I mean there's opportunity, but
from a baseball perspective, get over it. I saw a
couple of the parody accounts where people were getting got
again saying, yeah, he cost me that World Series in
two thousand three, So take that, miggy. I thought that
was pretty funny. I mean, it's a pretty good quote
when it once again it was is that the site
that makes their logo look like the New York Post
(12:20):
with the fonts got out of the same show. A
bunch of people got got by that, but like that
would have been great. It's like take that, Yeah, but
you know New York Post, no New York Yeah, no,
you got got See what happens. That's what happens is
when when sites like that have blue check marks, it's
what's a blue checkmarks? Okay, we can trust it. No, no, no,
(12:43):
you really can't. You can't do it. Yeah, you got
caught in the weeds. But yeah, So for for Miguel Cabrera,
we talked about it a lot last night. I mean,
and for those that didn't hear, you know, listen to
the whole show. But you can download it wherever you
get your podcast. Us. We we broke down the history
for baseball because this Miguel Cabrera hit is a very
(13:06):
rare event. So I get it. In the booth, you
were kind of ticked off. You know what, you'll see
it tomorrow. You know, you say it's gonna happen. It's
the Rockies. You're gonna get it. You're gonna get it's
gonna happen. It's gonna happen. I mean, if if they
were going on the road, oh I feel a little
bad about that. But they're gonna be at home the
next three days. It's okay, It's all right, it's gonna happen.
(13:27):
And you beat the Yankees, so it's okay. So yeah, hey,
let's got squeaky wait wait, wait wait, let's talk about
Mike Tyson. See Tysher's not paying attention. He's asleep. He thinks,
are they going, oh wait, wait there whispering? See you
to said the Mike Tyson think he didn't have a
strong eight seven seven Fox. Well, that's also Tiger fans
(13:57):
kind of napping now because they've got a lot of
energy expended because they were mad, because they were at
the park and they were ready and they were denied
because of good baseball strategy. Be sure to catch live
editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays
at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio and the I Heart Radio app Fox Sports Radio.
(14:19):
The Jason Smith Show with my bas friend Mike Harmon,
let's talk about Mike Tyson. Uh, songs too good? That
songs too good? How dare you do that? Oh boy?
Right now at halftime, Golden State leads Denver by ten
sixty nine fifty nine. Meanwhile, nine minutes ago on the
fourth quarter, Dallas still with the lead over Utah, but
(14:42):
Jazz narrowing it a bit. It is one oh on
Donovan Mitchell with twenty six so far to lead the
way for the Jazz against a lot of time left
in this just under nine minutes, so we'll have more
NBA on the way Steve to Seger will tell us
everything going on and what's trending. But right now time
head of the hotline and bring in a long time
(15:02):
pro football insider. He's the author of numerous books, some
don't have pictures in them. He is on Twitter at
Jason Cole sixty two. That is at Jason Cole sixty two.
He's a friend of the show Jason Cole j Cole.
What's happening? Man? If he Jordan loves how easy God,
(15:23):
that is just so awesome and that it was impromptu,
You're really worry It is philosophical question before we before
we get into the deeper meanings of money Bython only
grail uh Harmon. I want to know, is it better
to have a pick in the top ten that you
(15:44):
know your team is going to screw up, or to
have traded it away to a team that if they
screw it up, it's going to be an even greater embarrassment.
Because it's the New York Times. Oh it's the latter,
no question about it. I I'd rather get to throwing
stuff at my television quite so early and try testing
(16:05):
blood pressure monitors that early in a night right, you
need to take you know, lots of Pryan or something
like that to deal with the draft or something like that. Okay, good, Yeah,
I'm trying. I'm trying to kind of. Yeah, and the
Giants gonna go defeat us. Yeah, if you're gonna good
defeat us, you might as well go all in. Although
it ain't paste and naggy, So I do have some
(16:27):
hope that it's at least a different set of guys
that may screw it up. But so like, at least
they're there, there's hope that it won't be as bad. Yeah,
except it's at the GM who didn't get the chance
to hire his coach, you know, right, so they don't
get along because they don't have any philosophical agreement to
begin with. So it's it's a dream team. But the
(16:51):
New York tests have just entered the chat. Hey we're
talking about team and pick up the first top ten? Hey,
how can we didn't call me? I want to get
where the chests? Beautiful? And I wish this this draft
was was at you know, um, some New York location,
Radio City, the Javits Center, someplace where you would have
(17:12):
Giants and Jets fans because they have four picks in
the top ten, and it is the screaming and the
ugliness would just be so off the charts. Like they
should have just said time out, Vegas. Sorry, not this year.
We're going back to the Javits Center. Okay, sorry, we
have to have New York fans here for at least
(17:34):
the first ten picks. In fact, that what's what they
should do is just do the first ten picks in
New York and Goodell is there and just giggling mercilessly
as the Jets and Giants fans screaming each other over
who picked the worst players, and then just you know,
enjoy that. And then it's like, okay, take it away, Vegas,
let's go back to the show Girls. Oh just I'm
(17:55):
making a bicoastal thing, right, I'm sorry the first and
then we go back to Vegas. And when the Jets
and guy to pick me go back there. I think
that's how we do help to private chartered big planes.
Full one is Jets fans one Giants fans something to
prove your allegiance to either team, and was in the
middle of them, Giants fans on one side, Jets fans
(18:16):
on the other side of the plane like this would
be like the football's version of like a Camu novel
where just everything is a failure, everything is terrible, everything
is awful. There we go, Well, yeah, that's the Jets motto.
Whoever we pick, it will be wrong. That's what. That's
how it is. Doesn't matter who they pick, it's gonna
(18:37):
be wrong. It's like I couldn't right. You guys have
Cavon Tibodeaux written all over. Cavon Tibodeaux in New York
is going to be It is Mark Sanche too, that's it,
screams Sanchise, and then Vernon Golston's gonna go. Why is
(18:58):
my phone ringing? Oh oh yeah, yeah yeah I was
that guy. I would save Tideau. That's right. I took
the money and ran okay, good Yeah. Hey Bo's favorite moments.
There's there's um so hey uh wide receivers are unhappy,
(19:21):
Kyler Murray is unhappy. But now we find out that
maybe everybody. Are we going to see big trades involving
any big names between now in the draft? I'd be surprised. Um,
this is the time where people are really holding onto
their draft picks because it's it's the old let's make
(19:41):
a deal theory, Like you're just waiting for what's behind
door number three, and you're so excited about having those
guys you want more picks. So psychologically, I'd be very
surprised if you see a trade involving at least a
trade and involves a lot of high picks. Now, the
trades that I do expe to have see happen is
(20:02):
where people who need quarterbacks badly decide, oh, this is
not the year to take the quarterback's next year because
you have the Ohio State kid and then you have
the Alabama kid, and those are guys are gonna be
probably number one and number two overall, and people are
gonna say, I need to stock up on draft picks
for next year. Right, That's that's really the key for this.
(20:25):
And like Philadelphia already did that with the trade that
they make with the Saints. You know, they went and
got to pick for next year. I expect that kind
of thing to happen where people are going to say, Okay,
this is where I really need to load up, um,
you know, and and put off and put off what
I need um. But like, there's too many wide receivers
(20:48):
in this draft to sit there and go, I'm going
to overpay for Deebo Samuel who not only do I
have to overpay for the draft picks, but I have
to overpay for the contract act. And on top of that,
this guy has been injured a fair number of times
already in his career and is a contact to play
the contact player. So I don't see that kind of plague,
(21:13):
that kind of trade coming in this one. Well, speaking
of the debo thing, right, a guy who allegedly now
doesn't want to do the stuff that made him special,
or maybe doesn't want to live in San Francisco. I
mean there's a million caveats to all of this fun
and excitement. Well, I mean the most important one coming.
I want to be paid. Well, sure, but that's just it.
(21:35):
What's he want to be paid as just a top
flight wide receiver? What does he think he gets a
couple more million because the largest number. No, I'm not
defining myself by any position. I just want the number
to be very large. To pay you as a tight end. Congratulate.
We're gonna pay you with it, We're gonna pay We're
paying you as a unicorn. You are the greatest unicorn
(21:57):
of all time because you do all things for all
of us, and therefore you should be paid, you know,
thirty billion dollars per year. You're going to make more
money than the NFL grosses every year. Okay, so that's
what the agent said, Now does he because if he
(22:17):
does hold out the counter, is that what you're saying? Yes,
and the forty niners will sit there and another and
he's got to be paid at the top end. I
know a lot of people say that, well, you only
how this man it catches, and it's like, do you
watch them play, and do you watch how he functions
(22:38):
within their offense? And if you watch how he plays
and how he functions within within their offense, you know
he's a critical player to them, and he sets a
tone physically, whether he catches the ball outside, you know,
outside the numbers, or whether he's taking it from the backfield.
(22:59):
You know, he sets up so much of what they do.
In fact, the way he plays on the outside sets
up Kittles a lot a lot of the time too,
because it's like, okay, we either gonna double debo or
we've gotta double kittles. We're gonna have to pick our poison,
right and they move them around that way as well. Um,
and you're throwing youth check who can play fullback and
(23:20):
it's such a tough guy, and then come line up
as a wide receiver. Like they're the perfect team to
sort of play that you know, Swiss army knife kind
of offense where you have multiple guys and play multiple
spots and you put the defense in bad positions. That's
why they had such a good year, even though, like
their secondary was awful last year, and you know, the
(23:44):
quarterback play was so so right, but they made it
work because they're really hard to defense, you know, for
an entire game, and they're gonna wear you out with
the rumen games. So I love the way they play.
Like to me, it's you just pay the guy. Now.
I would overpay Deebo Samuel for a shorter deal, right,
Like I would pay him on a three year deal
(24:06):
at the top of the end, because I think his
body is going to wear out, right, because there's just
very few human beings suped him do that, right, But
you know, but one way or the other, you gotta
pay that guy. He's just that good and this is
your window of opportunity. Like he's picked a perfect time
to demand a trade because they were so close to
the game of the Super Bowl and you know, got
(24:27):
the super actually got to the Super Bowl three years ago.
They think they're right there. See all those are great points,
but you know what I really want to see. I
want to see them trade everyone and keep no no,
trade everyone everywhere. Trade use check and Kittle and debo,
and keep Garoppolo. That would drive from line up at
all the different By the way, Garoppolo Subway commercial with
(24:50):
the Grandmother is spectaculars right, Like he's been looking basically,
you know, like he's a dummy. Okay, like we let's
his face facts. He knows nothing, which is sort of Jimmy.
He's you know, he's a brain dead eater. And I
appreciate that they're playing to that. You know, how do
you really feel? Wow? All right, he's nothing but honest
(25:13):
when he comes here, right, But huh, well, I was
trying to compliment you, and then you were talking about
Jason being a big goofy kid. No, yeah, that's that's yeah,
But that's what I wanted to trade everybody and keep
Garoppol and keep him forever, keep him in lance and
never make It's gonna be, it's gonna they're gonna play
(25:33):
two on eleven and Florida. Every other play, a different
quarterback comes in. A quarterback on first Dat, you beat
the quarterback on second Dad, you come back in on
third down. Next time you get to start. It's straight
out of Tom Landry with the Star Morton days. You know,
(25:54):
it all comes back to the Cowboys and the brilliance
of the Cowboys and the presence. Okay, boy bees and
Jerry Jones. By the way, this draft is so boring.
But like i'd see NFL Network every other day, it's
like which quarterback is gonna go first? They're all terrible.
Stop it. They're all the stop But that's that's what moves.
(26:17):
There has to be drama. Pick it has to go.
Come on, come on, take my league. Please take my league.
Somebody take the league. Now. They're all terrible. All the
best quarterbacks are next year. Just take it as a loss.
Like it's it's so bad that Roger Goodell is literally
calling the media saying, you know what, I think the
lawsuit with Jerry Jones should keep going. We need we
(26:38):
need something of interest to talk about. That's that's exactly
what we're thinking. Well, or we just keep trading quarterbacks.
We gotta have some more quarterback trades. I mean that
that's kind of what needs to happen. That's something involving
the quarterbacks. Please somebody, Baker Mayfield, can you please get
traded right before the draft that people get interested. You know,
(27:00):
you know j Cole, you know who had the best
line about the quarterbacks in this draft. We had Bucky
Brooks on last week with us and Wes. We talked
about the draft everything, and he goes and I said,
what do you think about the quarterbacks? And he says,
the NFL's told us when they think about the quarterbacks.
I said, what do you mean? He goes, because right
after the combine there was a quarterback trade every day
for a month or us about one going right, every
(27:27):
team that needs a guy like, oh, we can't take
that guy. No, there's no way. But even even this
going into this week, right the story of hey, if
Baker Mayfield were to get cut, the Steelers would sign
him immediately? Like would they would? They really based on
their need for a quarterback and the fact that this
(27:49):
draft is so terrible. Now again, if I'm a quarterback
needy team, I come back to. I'm trading for picks
next year to load up on the possibility of I
can get to number one or two, either with one
of those picks naturally right, or my own pick. And
I know that's like, oh, well, you're talking about tanking.
Well yeah, but I don't want to. I don't want
(28:11):
to take picket. I don't want to waste a draft
pick on that guy, like pick up the third round pick. Um,
I don't want to. You know, the kid from Liberty, Okay,
he's kind of interesting, but he's never played against anybody,
and when he did play against Division one team, she
was terrible. Syracuse him last year. Yeah, buddy, yeah, buddy,
(28:33):
this is where Syracuse represent Daby. Okay, this is where
you get to talk. We beat Liberty, man, Yeah, you go,
Orange baby, We beat Liberty, that's right, that's right. Represents
the keys of his baby. Oy. Yeah. We can beat
(28:56):
Division three teams. We can, guys, right, it's not by him,
you know, behind by himself. We got more than that.
We're not just like hoping for a return of McNabb.
That's not it. You know, We've got more McNabb to
Bucky Jones, he's bringing back. He's on Twitter at Marvin
(29:19):
Harrison is a quo. That's the guy you want to
hang your hat up for a fan. He's never going
to create any problems for the Syracuse A I'm busy. No,
he's completely clean, taking it easy. Jason Cale boy, you
(29:42):
know serious, trying to ask serious questions between the laughter.

do apply well. One more game of Final in the
NBA will have more on the Warriors and the Nuggets
coming up in a couple of minutes. But uh no,
Luca Dontech and it doesn't matter. The Mavericks have now
(31:06):
one two of the first three against Utah, which is
so incredibly embarrassing for the Jazz and Donovan Mitchell and
Quinn Snyder. Quinn Snyder looks like he's ready to quit
the postgame press conference. His body language is awful, and
you know, well, he's had that same look on his
face since he was a player of Duke. Yeah, but
now he's no. But now he's got the grizzled stubble
(31:26):
going on, like he looks like, yeah, I'm done, man,
I'm done. Like he's the guy in the movies that
they go visiting the mountains after he's been away for
twenty years. That part of my life is over. But
we need you now, We need you to come back
and have that special set of skills you what's had. No,
I'm not I don't do that anymore. And then he
goes in and sees a picture of like his you know,
the love of his life who was gone, you know,
for twenty years. He decides, I'll go back and help.
(31:49):
That's kind of where Quinn Snyder is right now. He
looks he's ready to go and quit and chop wood
and live in the mountains until someone comes, until the
Lakers come and rescue him. In the off season, Lebron
comes and knocks on his door. Uh. But this is
so embarrassing for the Jazz and especially Donovan Mitchell because
even though look, the guy's a superstar, you can tell
(32:09):
things are not all good in Utah with him. He's
been upset many times over the course of the past
few weeks. And this is I'm telling you, this is
gonna wind up being the breaking point for him in Utah. Yes,
he's signed, he's gotten money, but this should be a
year where they're playing great. Right there. One of the
teams that don't have injuries. They got their stars playing
all season long. Great, and look where they are. They
(32:30):
can't even beat the Mavericks who are playing without Luka
don switch. I mean that you should you should be
I don't care how gonna coach Jason kidd is. You
should be able to beat the Mavericks without their best player,
without one of the best players in the NBA. You
should be able to do it, and you can't. Mitchell
is gonna be the first guy this offseason to say,
I want out, get me someplace new. I love it.
(32:52):
Look more chaos, more guys blank those picks, because in
the NBA, really, if you can convince someone to take
your second round picks, have at it. Uh, because a
few of those guys are are becoming the impactful players,
at least historically. Maybe we could do some more data
pulls from the last couple of years to see how
many more guys make it through. But but certainly this
(33:13):
was the expectation that they'd walk through, right, much like
your son's prediction. Of course, you couldn't have foreseen Devin
Booker getting hurt, but you know the idea was, all right, well, no,
Luca means go and just handle your business, and once again,
you know it comes back to you. You're not playing defense,
and you're getting great contributions from so many players. Seven
(33:36):
players for the MAVs and double figures tonight and eighteen
made three pointers, eight turnovers, eight turnovers. That's eleven and
two games. You gotta play better defense. Force the issue.
Force Uh, force a force pass. They're not doing it,
and you're giving them open looks all day long and
(33:58):
they're just knocking them down, witching, wanting open. Ain't gonna
do it. Adjustments, adjustments, Quinn Snyder uh and for Donovan
Mitchell start photo shopping into New Jersey's of course, Mitchell's
gonna wand out. Zion is gonna want out. Oh, everybody's
gonna wand out. And Damian Lillard is gonna say, hey,
I went out to sorry you at your chants. Man,
you had your chance the last three years. We wanted
(34:19):
you to get out. Now you gotta everybody. He said
he would accept the trade if that's what the Blazers felt.
They needed to make a new direction, and the Pelicans
might decide they don't love design as much as they want.
Did Leon Rose call the jazz called Danny aans right now,
all right now, go down down all now. Coming up next,
we got a big story of the NBA and the
