(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Joining us now on
the hotline a man who, because he covered the Warriors
for so long, is personally responsible for them losing tonight. Uh.
You can follow on Twitter at Mark g Underscore Medina,
former Warriors beat writer NBA dot com insider covering the
(00:43):
playoffs with us. Now, what's happening? Mark? How are you? Man?
Why am I personally responsible? Her? Well, because this guy,
we gotta blame somebody, you know, somebody's gotta be Yeah,
you get to blame. First story back in the Lakers season,
when you know they got swept in the f shrounded
the playoffs to San Antonio when they thought, hey, we're
gonna win a title with Dwight Howard and Uh, Steve
(01:05):
Nash Metal World Piece said it was my fault. He said,
this is the first year you've been a beat writer,
and we sucked. And I tried telling him head cover
to the Lakers before and he wanted title and he's like, yeah,
but you weren't a beat writer and you are now
and now we suck. So it's your fault. I'm used
to this. Okay, Hey, before we start, how did you
interview for the Lakers head coaching position. I'm already out
(01:27):
of the mix. I told them straight it up, look
like rough zero minutes, like, if you're gonna keep them,
this is gonna be ugly. And then they I wouldn't
even say they putlitely showed me the door. They shoved
me to the door, and that was that. Wow, Linda
Rambis shoved you to the door or you know, it
was multiple people. Okay, all right, so we get to
(01:52):
the game tonight. I don't think anybody's surprised the Warriors
lose and the Mavericks get a game here. It's a
three one series and you know they're gonna go back
home now, three chances to win this series. Um, as
things stand right now for the Warriors, do you have
any level of concern for them this series going into
the NBA finals what, well, what's something that's like, hey,
(02:13):
you know what, this is something that could give the
Warriors trouble going forward. No. I mean, look, the Warriors
didn't play their best effort. The mass played out of
their minds. You know, guys not named Luca don Chech
were suddenly hitting shots when they weren't the first three games. Uh,
seattle those things up. The MAVs aren't going to be
the first team ever to overcome zero three deficit. You know,
(02:33):
there's been a hundred forty six teams. I haven't been
able to do that. The MAVs are going to be
the hundred. But you know, I think, you know, in
the short term, you know, the Warriors were hoping to
close this out just to get in a few extra
days arrest. You just never know with the war of attrition,
how things can catch up to them. But I think
in fairness, it's not like even though the guys were
(02:56):
you know, let back in it lay at the game
when the reserves were, you know, sparking to comeback. I
don't think that fatigue and to catch up to them.
And on the other side of the coin, you know,
the Mavericks, Luca Dodgers was playing a lot of minutes,
and he looked worn down at the end. So I
think this game was very much you know, the Mavericks
saved face, they got some pride, you know, on their
(03:18):
home floor, and they're forcing the game five and not
getting swept. But you know this, this series is gonna
be wrapped up Thursday NSF. Yeah, that was the curiosity, right,
Luca was all mad that he had to go back in.
But when I saw the Warriors guys check in, It's like, Nah,
the other guys have given you this huge run, cutting
nineteen off the deficit. Why don't you let them run
through and see what it is? So, I mean, I
(03:39):
guess that that hard decision of can we possibly make
the couple more shots and close it out versus just finishing. Luckily,
it doesn't look like anything came of it, but that
was the first thought as guys went to check in,
Mark of all right, are we tempting fate? Yeah? I
thought I thought the Reserve should have closed it out.
Not because I'm overly concerned about you know, how many
minutes Curry and Klay Thompson are getting and Andrew Wiggins,
(04:03):
I mean, Andrew uh and staff were in the low thirties.
Clay was under thirties, so it's not like they were
playing a lot of minutes. They're staying on the bench
for a long time at this game because it was
a blowout, But I think the reserves deserved to close
it out, not just from a like a moral standpoint,
it's just there are the more effective units. So I think,
you know, if the Warriors are trying to wrap the
(04:26):
series up, honestly, in this only specific case, guys like
Jonathan cominga Uh and Jordan Poole would have been given
them a better odds of winning than putting stuff Curry
and Klay Thompson back on mark. When it comes to
the playoffs, something we talked about earlier this hour. It
was another big blowout tonight. The game got a little
(04:46):
close at the end, but it was a game that
was a twenty five point game, a thirty point game
NBA has had almost as a twenty two twenty point
blowouts here in the playoffs. I look at it as
this is a big deal for the NBA to try
to overcome because eventually, if people's viewing habits are gonna
be if I don't need to watch the games it's
(05:07):
gonna be a blowout. I can just check in on
the score and people are never gonna go back to
all I have to watch all of the games. I mean,
of all the problems that the NBA is facing right now,
a lot they can do stuff about. This is one
of those things where it's like even enough playoffs going on,
where where the games are all blowouts, people aren't gonna
come back. They're gonna check in on the score and
then if it's close, they'll watch, but if not, it's
(05:28):
gonna be game. They don't turn on the TV. Floor. Yeah,
I mean, look, I was looking forward to playoff basketball,
not because I have any steaks for just watching good games.
I mean, I've been watching the Lakers all season and
these are the kind of games we're seeing, just blow out,
ugly games. Um. And so I think up until the
East West Finals, there were a lot of riveting series, um,
(05:48):
you know, across the board, but you know, East West
it's been bad. It's been unpredictable, most notably with Miami
and Boston. But the games themselves have not been watchable. Now,
what can the NBA do? I mean, technically they could
do a wink and a nod to the officials of hey,
you know, keep these games close. But I don't think
the league does those things. But no doubt whether it's
(06:12):
the league or the TV partners, like they want close
games because they want more eyeballs on the screen. So
definitely a problem. But you know, um, that's all to
Miami and Boston to fix more than anything else. Mark
Cuban got into it on Twitter. He was board either
because the game was a blowout or because the delay
because of the league in the roof, which is a
(06:34):
whole other interesting uh dynamic to tonight's Mark, but bringing
up the play play in game and the play in
tournament uh leading to a change in schedule and tiredness
and injuries mounting in the league. Is is this something
that has legs that the league needs looking or is
this just Cuban uh and doing one of the thought
(06:58):
pieces on Twitter as he's wanted to do. Yeah, I
think it's more of the latter. He's good at, uh,
you know, doing think pieces here. I mean, look, um,
you don't discount injuries, and the NBA always looks at
the data, but you know, I think the data shows that,
you know, and most of the injuries are in line
from a you know, number standpoint with how it was
(07:20):
you know, years earlier, and so the idea that adding
the play in tournament or anything else contributed to that,
I don't buy. You know, even last year. I know that,
you know, obviously there were struggles going on with the
pandemic and playing with no fans and all that, but
that was a shortened season and there were more injuries
(07:43):
then for sure, as a compressed season itself a short
turnaround from the bubble. But bringing this up to say that,
you know, games don't always equate X number of injuries,
so I think it's been fairly in line. I think,
you know, specifically last year it was more notable because
of who was injured, But when you're looking at from
(08:04):
a number standpoint, it's it's pretty typical with the history
of the league. Uh Mark. Now, the biggest question I'm
gonna ask you is is how much faster could you
have fixed the leak in the roof to start the
second half, because we sat around for like fifteen minutes
before that gave me. I mean, there's got to be
some of the things other than let's send a guy
(08:24):
up there with a towel and some duct tape. I mean,
this is the NBA. Yeah, I mean I could have
run up there really fast, but I think there's two
problems here. I'm not a plumbing expert, so like I
wouldn't be able to stop the league. And um, you know,
I'm not afraid of flying or anything anything like that.
Like it's good because I have to fly a lot
for work, but I do get a little queasy if
(08:47):
I'm at a you know, on a tide high building.
I looked down, so uh yeah, two problems. I would
not be the right man for the job to fix
the leak. Well, they remedied it fairly quickly. I was
just looking for that flex tape guy because I mean,
travel a bunch. He's on at two a m. And
you keep thinking about sawing a boat and half I
(09:07):
know you do. Yeah I would. I would be really
good with running up there, whether it's you know, stairs
or taking the elevator, But as soon as I got there,
it would just be fake hustle, like I'm pretending to
know what I'm doing. And then you know, the games
away is even more. I mean, if this for to happen,
I think the second half would have just started right
now alright, So as far as the Lakers go. Uh
(09:28):
TMZ had the video today of Zach Levine saying I've
always been a fan of the Lakers, and Levine somehow
to the Lakers, he's a clutch sports guy is starting
to gain some momentum. Is there any way really the
Lakers can wind up with Zach Lavine, I mean, whether
they have to get rid of Westbrook or not. Is
there any way he winds up a Laker? No, because
I don't have any cap space and last night checked
(09:50):
Zach Lavine is making some money here. Um, yeah, unless
he wants to cipher the veterans minimum, it ain't happening.
And honestly, even if they great Russell Westbrook, unless Chicago
just decides to go stupid and include Zach Lavina and
a deal like, there's no scenario where all of a
sudden that opens up cap room because it's still going
(10:13):
to be the same. They only have veterans minimum deals.
I think they have a taxpayramid level, you know, six
millions of ZAE that. Yeah, but that's that's a Steve
pay cut. So yeah, Jack Lavine can say all the
nice things he wants about the Lakers to TMZ, but
that I don't think nice enough that will wear a
Lakers uniform for drastically lost money and Lebron just give
(10:33):
him a giant pile of cash as an you'd like
this deal now, I think there's some salary capitals that
prohibit that, unfortunately for them. He's on Twitter at Mark
g Underscore Medina, NBA dot com insider uh former Warriors
beat writer, former failed Lakers beat writer, just as metal
(10:53):
World Peace. Uh Mark has always body appreciate your time.
We're sorry about the Lakers head coaching gig, but at
some then else pops up. Let me know I can
write a reference for you know what. They're lost, not mine.
I was willing to give them some bass Lucks for teas,
but they're you know, they really believe in Russell Westbrook,
even though it was a disaster last season. So I
(11:13):
don't know. There's only so much I can do to
help them. Taking easy money. We'll talk to you next week,

(11:35):
You know, I will say this for Levine to the Lakers, Okay,
I will say this is that being a star league.
If Levine really wants the Lakers and he says it's
the Lakers or nothing, like Anthony Davis, right, like a
d wanted the Lakers, and you're gonna trade me and
I'm gonna be a Laker. It took a little bit more.
They sat him down for the end of the season,
(11:56):
and then he took a while. I took a little
bit more to make that trade, but eventually he wound
up a Laker. If he goes it's Lakers or nothing,
and he's a clutch sports guy, it's it's hard for
me to say it could never happen, because, as we've seen,
if stars want something bad enough in the NBA, you
can get it and and if you make it, it's
(12:17):
this or nothing. All right, Are the Bulls really gonna
lose him as an asset just to when they can
do trade or get something else? Right, But they could
also sign him and trade him. It could be more
money that way for him, right, You could let him.
He can go somewhere in free agency. He could find
a way, you know, for a sign and trade if
he really wanted to go there everyone, I mean, I
(12:37):
I can't say absolutely wouldn't happen. Look, look, this is
not Buddy Healed finding a way to the Lakers. This
is when stars want something to happen in the NBA. Yeah,
you kind of see it happen. Yeah, but this also
goes to the what do you have in terms of
discernible assets that the Bulls would accept? Because Russell Westbrook
Caine It, Okay, you've already got a Lonzo Ball coming
(12:59):
off a knee and whatever else. You're already already got
him on the roster. And what does Russell Westbrook bring you? Nothing? Zero?
You got you got Jos and he's your second team
All NBA guy had a huge year for you. And like,
the Lakers can't give you draft picks, they can't give
you and there's nobody on that team that you'd want
(13:22):
as a piece. Like that's the hard part, Jason, It's
it's just getting to the there literally or no, wait
a minute, yes, no, everybody wants Taylor Horton Tucker, everybody
that was the rumor a year ago, and then they
got another eighty two games sample size of what he is,
(13:43):
which means nobody wants him now for what it would
cost you. Yes, the bulls bring him on and get
rid of zach Levin. No, that that would not go.

Slash rewards limitations they do apply. Yeah, I mean, I
know there are four Major League Baseball games still going on,
(15:09):
but the hockey game is over. The NBA game was
over a long time ago, you know it was. It
was over in the first quarter. Okay, we're done. A
while while you had signs that things were gonna get ugly,
had had, and then the second quarter happened, and then uh,
(15:30):
that was about it. Now, before we get to Steve Kerr,
just something from the Oilers Flames game that just ended.
We told you about this about twenty minutes ago. Oilers
wind up beating the Flames five three. Again. Nothing has
been more entertaining in sports this playoff series than this series.
Right now, the Flames were down three two. They tied
(15:50):
the game with about ten minutes to go in the
third period on a flick of a goal by Rasmus Anderson,
who had the puck probably I would say, twenty feet
inside of his own blue line. He was just finding
a way to dump it down because the Oilers were
on a power play, and he shoots the puck the
length of the ice up in the air and for
(16:11):
some reason it just gives Mike Smith all kinds of
trouble and he can't get it and it bounces and
it bounces into the net to tie the game at three.
Absolutely insane. You I, I've never seen a goal like that.
He really, he's about about a hundred and fifty feet
away from the net. He just flips it down and
it just turns and spins or does something and it
(16:32):
goes into tie the game. Now, the Oilers got the
next two goals to win five three, but this goal
is absolutely insane. You can see anywhere on social media
right now. And when I saw this, Mike, I had
chills because it brought me back to the one time
I played goalie on my roller hockey team, and you know,
you know me, I was a really good hot I
told you how a good hockey player dude, I was
(16:54):
Gret sky man. Video video has not surfaced at this
but for the moment, will well, we'll get excited and
give you your do. I could bring my wife and
she saw my game. She's like, yeah, I was. I
was legit. Well, she loved come and to watch me
play hockey because I was good. I was great. I
would score goals. I was like, you know, And that's
the thing is that physically I wasn't anything great because
(17:16):
you know, look, I was five nine and you know
it was a d eighty pounds, hundred nine pounds. Ever
was but I knew where the puck. I always knew
where the puck was going to be, and I was
accurate when I shot, and and I always I could
always tell. I could always see the play like like
two or three steps ahead, right. That was that was
that I was like, I was Gret sky of roller hockey.
I could I could see where the where the where
the puck was gonna be, and I knew where it
(17:37):
was going to be. And as long as I'm accurate, right,
I was good. But I was never a Gret roller
hockey man. I knew where the fans in the worldwide
there and but I never was a goaliecause being a
goldie was just I never did it. But one game
our goalie couldn't make it, and he calls like with
like twenty minutes for the game saying he can't make
(17:59):
did and it's like, come on, man, you could have
sent it and nobody else wanted to do it. And
I was a captain, so I'm like, all right, I'll
play goalie. And there the teams are all right, great,
so I put on I put on all the equipment
and I'm like, this is awful. This is gonna be terrible,
and you know, and I still this is twenty five
years ago, this game, and I still remember, and I
felt awful because the guys just killed themselves the entire
(18:21):
day to try to keep the puck from getting to
me because they knew I wasn't a goalie. And we
were winning one nothing with about ten minutes to go
in the third period, and I'm going and I've had
to hardly make any any plays at all, except one
time before that they were going off the they were
going off the other team was going off the rink
and the guy does exactly what this defender does. He's
(18:42):
like just behind center center deck, you know, play playing,
you know they call it a deck when you're playing
roller hockey, just behind center deck. He just slaps one
at me from all that far away, and I go
to get it, and it just curves around my my
glove and into the net for a goal. And everybody's
just stunned, and I'm like, what just happened? What just happened?
(19:04):
How did I not catch that? It just curve by
me and went back and and they wound up scoring
a goal like five minutes later, and we lost two
to one. And I felt awful because the guys did
everything they could. And I took off the equipment and
I was sweaty, and I was nervous, and my stomach
muscles were contracting, and I've never had anything. I've never
felt like that after a game. And I talked to
(19:24):
a friend of mine who, uh it was a goalie,
you know, and I said, I said, I've never felt
like that. Now I I I get what you feel like.
He goes, Now you know why after a game is over,
everybody goes and hugs the goalie first. And I said, yes,
I know why that happens. I'll never again. He told
me that Steve Fierrello told me that. He said, now
you know why that happens. I'm like, yes, now I
(19:45):
know why everybody goes and hugs and goalie. It was
just sweating my ass off the good time. Please don't
shoot the puck down here, don't shoot it down here.
Let me make the play, let me make sure it works.
But he said it comes, I go, I'm gonna catch
this because you know, I was a softball player too,
and I was playing your defense for no, no, no, no,
how do you not jump in on that? Not? And
I was a softball player. Tell me anything shot from
(20:07):
far away, great, I'm gonna catch it. And this went around.
I mean, how did I not catch that? I'm like,
how did I not catch that? And I know the
guys looked at me like, that's the goal you gave up.
That's the goal you gave up. You're kidding me, But
I mean they knew I was just you know, dressing.
But I was like, we couldn't even get a tie?
Did I get you an extra free in a poster way? No?
I don't know. I don't think so, man. I I
(20:28):
that was that was too depressing to go out after.
I think I just went home twenty five years ago
this game. But I just I just went home. I
was so depressed. You're heading right back into a very
bad place, right, Yeah, yeah, I've been hearing in your
voice a kid I still remember. I still remember the
kid who scored. His name was Chad. He was a
good player's defender, and he shot. His name was and
he scored on. Yes, Chad scored. Yes, yes, Well at
(20:51):
least it wasn't Chet. Yeah, it was Chad, So it
was I was. I don't know, Chet might be the
best basketball player in the country. Yeah, but in the
game in two months. So a guy getting scored on
by a guy named chets Okay, yeah, because he was.
He was. He was wearing an eyes on sweatshirt with
(21:13):
a with a with a collar under, you know, the
sweatshirt over the college. Yeah. Yeah, it was tough man.
Chat was good. Now he was a good player. Chat
I was better, but he you know, he was good. Uh.

And what we've seen tonight in Uval Day, Texas, at

least nineteen children now uh, were killed, multiple injured reported
after a shooting at the Texas elementary school. And I
look at our country and it's on fire, and it's
just when it When are things like this going to
stop happening? Another mass shooting here in the United States?
And and and looking at this, you have nineteen kids
(22:14):
that went to school today and now we're never going home.
One kid I just saw who was identified his his
mom was with him earlier in the day because he
had won an award at school and then they you know,
we won an award an assembly and and she left
to go to work, and he was one of the victims. Uh.
There are so many things to say about this, But
(22:34):
instead of of Mike and I doing it, we're gonna
turn it over to Steve Kerr, Warriors head coach, who
spoke to the media before the game tonight. Now, I
don't know how the guy coached the game. Um, And
Steve Kerr is one of those guys that. Look, we
we talked about his basketball acumen, as you know so
often because of the genius that he is. Look, his
system helped turn the NBA on. It's here and it
(22:55):
and it. It's been some kind of run with Steve Kerr.
But I am thankful he is in the basket ball universe. Um.
Here is what he devoted his pregame press conference to
before the Warriors took the court tonight in their game
against the Mavericks. Here Steve Kerr. Since we left, shoot
around fourteen children were killed four miles from here, and
(23:16):
a and a teacher. And in the last ten days,
we've had elderly black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo.
We've had Asian churchgoers killed in southern California, and now
we have children murdered at school. When are we gonna
(23:38):
do something? I'm tired. I'm I'm so tired of getting
up here and offering condolences to to the devastated families
that are out there. I'm so tired of the Excuse me,
I'm sorry I'm tired of the moments of silence. Enough.
(23:58):
There's fifty senators right now who refused to vote on
HR eight, which is a background check rule that the
House passed a couple of years ago. It's been sitting
there for two years, and there's a reason they won't
vote on it. To hold onto power. So I ask you,
Mitch McConnell asked all of you senators who refused to
do anything about the violence and school shootings and supermarket shootings.
(24:22):
I ask you, are you going to put your own
desire for power ahead of the lives of our children
and our elderly and our churchgoers, Because that's what it
looks like, it's what we do every week. So I'm
fed up. I've had enough. We're gonna play the game tonight.
(24:46):
But I want every person here, every person listening to this,
to think about your own child or grandchild, or mother
or father or sister, brother. How would you feel if
this happened to you today. We can't get numbed of this.
We can't sit here and just read about it and
go well, it's at the moment of silence. Yeah, go dubs,
(25:06):
you know, come on, Maths, let's go that's what we're
gonna do. We're gonna go play a basketball game, and
in fifty senators in Washington are gonna hold us hostage.
You realize that Americans, regardless of political party, want background check,
universal background US. We are being held hostage by fifty
(25:28):
senators in Washington who refused to even put it to
a vote. Despite what we the American people want, they
won't vote on it because they want to hold onto
their own power. It's pathetic, of how enough, That was
Steve Kerr before the game. Tonight, Giants lead the Mets.
(25:52):
Now a furious comeback. The Mets are batting with the
bases loaded and one out in the top of the
eighth inning. It was an eight to lead by the Giants,
but the relentless lineup of the New York Mets hasn't
within one run with the bases loaded. End my preseason

I'm feeling great right now. Top gun the Mets. This

(27:24):
Ben Mallow on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast
or wherever you get your podcast. Fox Sports Radio. The
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon, Where
the Mets are Still batting. A seven run eighth inning
has them leading the Giants eleven to eight. They still
left runners at first and second with two outs. Oh
(27:46):
the specialness of this Mets team. Mike Harmon, Uh, the
worst case scenario for the end of a Tuesday night, Well, listen,
Edwin Diaz will probably still factor into this game at
some point, somebody still, You will have that, dude, can
they force the uh Giants to play his entrench music?
(28:09):
Maybe you can do that? Now you have me intreat Uh, uh, well,
you know what, We'll We'll have to wait and see.
But again, eight Mets lead the Giants, they were down
eight to how it's len uh and maybe and Lindor
clearly is the rat, sorry, the goat, the goat. Lindor
is the goat, not not the rat the goat. I
(28:31):
was going back to last year. Sorry, sorry, I mean,
I know it's the year of the Tiger. We established
that on yesterday, you know, so we're not gonna miss
that up or have any problems with that again. But yeah,
it's uh really an amazing thing to watch. And I
say that with all reverence to the sixty mints. Fox
(28:51):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carment, Well,
we may not have the Pro Bowl to push around anymore.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said today, Hey, the game just
doesn't work anymore, and everything is on the table to
try to figure out a way around it. Maybe they
just have some kind of fun event and people get
named to the Pro Bowl. But the tackle football game
isn't working anymore. A lot of tackling going there never
(29:16):
really was to be getting down. No, no, no no, back
in the day. You go, you could probably find videos
that used to be sold by the league. Hardest hitting
moments in Pro Bowl History. I'm sure there was a
DVD for it, hart Is. Look, I'm gonna see if
I can find that hang on hardest hitting Moments Pro
(29:36):
Bowl History. Let me see what I got. Uh, I
got memorable moments from the Pro Bowl. Uh, Top ten
Pro Bowl moments of all time. Relive Sean Taylor's massive
Pro Bowl hit on Brian and Brian Mormon. That's right,
Oh that hit? Oh my goodness. Yeah, okay, all right,
you can find that, you can, alright, So there's I'm
(29:57):
sure we could probably find some more, but certainly you
do that Sean Taylor's hit respect Sean Taylor comes up
like times out of the first hundred hits. Yeah, what
do we say? Oh? This it? Yeah? Oh and he
was a punter too, man, I mean goodness. Derrick Johnson
on Jamal Charles to I know Michael Parsons had a
(30:21):
couple of hits this year that folks were looking around. Good.
What are you doing? Man? But here's the thing about
the Pro Bowl is that if they canceled it, nobody
would care. Right, you can cancel the Pro Bowl. The
Pro Bowl is a game whose time has come and gone.
All right, The Pro Bowl had a great run for
(30:42):
fifty years, and now it's irrelevant. It happens. You know,
just because something's always been around doesn't mean it always
needs to be around, right. Uh. You know, Blockbuster video
was a great for so long. Now there's one Blockbuster
video left, right. Flip phones were great. Now people don't
use flip owns. Um. Some ideas are just meant to
(31:03):
be around for a certain amount of time and then
they're done because they lose relevancy or they you know,
people just don't care for the product anymore. You know.
It's it's why you see J. C. Penny's and Macy's
stores closing because people shop at Amazon and sometimes they
go to the store, but sometimes they don't. It just
happens that way. Oh, it's a great I mean, how
(31:23):
many times have you seen this story, This great institution
hundred and seven years now going out of business. It happens.
That's what the Pro Bowl is, right. The Pro Bowl
is just evolved over time into an all star game
that has lost relevancy for many different reasons. You can
say we see too much football. We don't get underserved
with football. The Pro Bowl. No one cares anymore. It's
(31:44):
not that all. But it doesn't matter because the Pro
Bowl was here, it was great for a while, and
now if it goes, it goes, we won't miss it.
It's time has come and gone. And if the Pro
Bowl goes out of business, it goes out of business,
and it probably should. Yeah. I think it comes down
to you, as you mentioned, with all the the big
box stores and and you have operational efficiencies, online, cannibalism,
(32:07):
all of those things that come together. Although that sounds
like a reality show that we could get together. But
the the idea with the Pro Bowl is right, how
do you evolve it to where it's functional and as
a football game, it's hard. Right even saying hey, let's
move it till after the Super Bowl, who cares? A
bunch of guys are gonna opt out regardless. That's just
(32:28):
where we're at in this process. They'll take the name
getting named to the team, They'll wave, and they'll move on.
I heard Gascon talking a little as I was in
the car earlier today about the All Pro teams and
making sure those get celebrated because I think those go
a little under underne noted in in everything because there
(32:49):
hasn't been event an event around them right yet, those
are the ones that are far more important to your
Hall of Fame selection and legacy than anything else. But
I think gets the biggest challenge for the NFL and
for the Players Association is you gotta come up with
some sort of event that takes place of the week,
and even if it's still a week of vacations and
(33:10):
people hanging out, it's all about the glad handing, backslapping
and ask kissing that goes on with sponsors and and
corporate partners. That's what the event is all about, and
cutting deals and all of that. So that's where in Vegas, Hawaii,
in certain Los Angeles destination here that you find the
(33:32):
place where that still has to happen, because there's lots
of monetization to happen uh during that week, and we
know the NFL is not gonna let that go away,
so quietly, Twitter, And how about a fresca Mike gets
swollen don The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Carmen. Oh, don't worry. We've got more big NFL
stories coming up next. Keep it right here, Jason Smith,
(33:53):
Mike Harmon, This is Fox Sports Radio,
