(00:24):
to Fox Sports Radio. Greetings and welcome and sod on
this Memorial Day Monday Night, The Jason Smith Show with
my base friend Mike Harmon Hobo where harm I have
a fact for you that you're not gonna believe. I
have a stature gonna blow you out of the water,
and I'm gonna kick off the show of it. You're
ready for this? Is it a good stat or is

(00:46):
it always gonna depress me? No? No, no, it's what.
You're not gonna believe it, but it's true. By the
time we get off the air tonight, okay, it's almost
gonna be midnight Pacific coast time, Memorial Day weekend will
be officially over. Every single person in the United States
will have seen top Gun Maverick by the end of

(01:08):
our show. Tonight, every single person who can go to
every all three hundred and seventy million people will have
seen Top Gun. Maverick, Okay, yeah, that's it's probably a
pretty good percentage. I mean, if you just say you
can distribute those that have seen it multiple times onto
other Americans, like I can bequeathed like it's in my will.

(01:30):
Here's a showing of Top Gun that I saw, so
you didn't have to. I bet we could probably cover
America with that. Oh, I mean, hundred and fifty six
million dollars. It's going to make the biggest Memorial Day
opening ever. I've already seen it twice. I went with you.
We went to see it Thursday night. I went to
go see it yesterday. It was even better. The second

(01:51):
time I saw it again was even better. What kids
this morning? What do you think that? What do you
think after the scene the side? I was better with
the music the second time around. I I'd forgotten about
a couple of things that that were included. Uh, look,
I wish they were different songs because they're overplayed and
things that heard movies nine hundred times. But that worked.
You know what the biggest thing for me is, you

(02:12):
know we we got to see it on opening night.
You tie shirt and I and we had a blast.
But it was a very small group in that theater
at that time of night, so a lot of the references,
the little all right now scene transitions that get some
kind of visceral reaction. We were in a crowded theater.
I don't know that there were five empty seats except

(02:34):
maybe in the front row. And so all these little
one liners, all these little twists. You had at least
a couple of folks screaming out something, a couple of profanities,
a bunch of cheering, some claps, you know, all of
those things. Uh. One guy in the corner just kept
yelling wears goose. Either that or he started some kind

(02:56):
he say he got some kind of movements, started online
or something. But it resonated differently, and my kids had
a blast with it. We had watched the original Madeline
and I by thirteen year old. For those unawares, H
and I had watched the original last night, so she
was she was geeked up to go see it. There

(03:16):
were a couple of things she pointed out and was
just laughing and thought were just the greatest little references,
So she was taking notes. I'm like, come on the
light shine and she goes, But I want to remember
to tell my friends. That's a great one liner. You
can't take notes in the movie, right. I thought it
was hilarious. She goes, because my friends won't go see this.
I could use this one liner at least for a
little while. You know what it is, These are kids

(03:39):
who have grown up with one pretty distinct screen experience.
I could do whatever I want to. I mean, I'm
in my own home. I gonna a movie just like
my house. But like the last couple of years, right,
how many first run movies to watch, you know, where
there was a streaming or limited theatrical release to where
you know, they're they're half paying attention because they're on
their phones, uh, scrolling through TikTok, paying attention somewhat to

(04:03):
the movie, and then asking you to rewind and watch
it again, which is all fine and good, but but yeah,
it was. It made for a fun little experience. Uh
this afternoon and some of the folks leaving, Man, I
gotta see that again. That was so good And obviously,
you know, for me, you know, watching it the second
time and having just revisited the original. I dare say

(04:24):
I might actually like a good chunk of the second
one better. You know, you know, the funny thing is
the second one is a better movie, right, Like, it's
a better thing the cheesiness of the But the thing
is the one liners. And and you're seeing Top Gun,
you know from the from a from a perspective of
this is this movie made Tom Cruise a megastar. Now

(04:45):
you're watching an absolute making the biggest movie star of
the last forty years. Do a sequel to this movie,
so you have different perspectives on the movie. Right, Yes,
it was cheesy. The one liners in the first Top
Gun clearly were better. It was done over the top.
It was It's more an iconic movie. This is that's
why people are said, because this is a really good,
bleeping movie. Well, the last scenes are amazing, and then

(05:06):
you know what the big twist you get and I'm
not gonna know no spoilers, but the big twist you
get when you think the movie's gonna go one way
and you're like, oh, it's going another way. Oh wow,
And then I'm like, okay, now I don't know what's
gonna happen. And then we stand out and we got
back on course. You know. I mean there's all sorts
of craziness. But yeah, some of the reactions to that
one guy. But about two over from me, I swear

(05:29):
he hit every curse word in the book. It's like, wow,
It's like you're really you're really riding with this one
pretty hard well, because I had I had one guy
who was like two seats over for me, who had
gone in and out to the bar like three or
four times. So he comes back and they're one. They're
the one part at the end, and you know, a
big thing happens. He goes, no, way, how did that?

(05:51):
I go, you didn't see that coming. I'm like, come
on man, it was like the movie was happening in
front of him, Like this is really like I'm watching
this like it's happening. Oh my goodness. All I couldn't
believe it. But I'm gonna give you a big bold prediction.
I'm gonna be a big bold prediction for top Gun
Maverick right now. Look, I always tell you that the
Academy Awards are done, Uh, so you can reward someone

(06:15):
for the careers they've had, right, And I've talked different things,
and I think Austin Butler is gonna wind out. I
told you already he's gonna win Best Actor for the Elvis.
I can say that pretty much clowned it. But that's
that's a whole wow really. Oh yeah, well it's bad.
So I think there are some folks that are not terribly,
very fond of his movie making style. But I'm gonna

(06:37):
tell you this because this is gonna be the movie
event of the year. Right. It's gonna make more movie,
more money than any movie this year. It's getting people
back into theaters. It's a really big deal. Plus he
is really good in this. Tom Cruise is gonna get
nominated for Best Actors. Look at you, He's gonna get
nominated for Best Actor for this. I can I can
see it happening. He's not gonna win, and the whole

(06:59):
world is gonna want him to win, but he's gonna
get nominated because of of of a he's this. This
is to pull off this movie, to pull off such
an iconic character thirty six years later and still be
kind of the same person because you know, he doesn't age. Uh,
you know, it's it's amazing and he was really good
in this. Like, yeah, I gotta I gotta say, you know,
some of his Tom Cruise is really good. Some movies

(07:20):
he plays himself, but he was very good. He got
back into this character really and gave a depth and breadth.
And there's a couple of scenes where I'm saying, I said, wow,
this really shows you how you know, how how good
he can be. I mean, we just see him his
action Star Action Action Action. But I'm telling you he's
gonna get nominated for Best act I'll give that Bowl
prediction right now, but I'll tell you last week, there
was no way they were going into this without delivering, uh,

(07:43):
something that he would be able to say. I left
it all now. Whether Mission Impossible is part one and
two can live up to that, you know, starting next
year whenever that nebulous date is uh that that hits theaters,
because we got that eight minute trailer for that, by
the way. But but one of them is going to
be in Spain. The second one is gonna be the
one that they're gonna shoot in space. But yeah, left

(08:07):
it all out there. It showed his entire range, uh,
the good supporting cast, and again I still cry that
I needed more Warlock. Warlock was gonna had the best
line in the movie. His he had one of the best.
He had a couple of really good one liners. Warlock
had the best one liner in the movie. And then
Myles Teller was hanging out with the Phillis today. So
it's all coming up top gun uh, Twitter, and how

(08:29):
about a Fresco Mike had swollen Dome the Jason Smith Show,
My best friend Mike Harmon. If you're a valued customer,
you deserve a simple gesture of appreciation from your credit
card company. And that's why I discovered matches. All the
cash back you've earned the end of your first year,
discover exceptionally common sense, learned more, discovered dot com slash
match limitations. They do apply. Well, it is Memorial Day,
Mike and I are glad to be here to get

(08:50):
to shoot the breeze with you. But everything going on
in sports. We got the NBA Finals coming up, We've
got Jason Lock and four is gonna talk football with us.
But look, Memorial Day is always a day of remembrance
for the for the troops who sacrificed and given the
ultimate sacrifice so we can have the freedoms we have
here in the United States, And this kind of plays
into a big topic in baseball today. A Memorial Day

(09:11):
is a big baseball day. Right, you spend time looking
back where we've been so far in baseball? Where we
look ahead? Memorial Day, fourth of July, Labor Day, they're
all big baseball days. Okay, what have we seen? Do
we believe what we've seen? What do we think going forward?
And today Giants manager Gabe Kapler stood during the national
anthem re member. He had made a lot of headlines

(09:32):
over the past few days about he wasn't going to
come out for the national anthem until he felt better
about the direction that this country was going. And look,
Gabe captain has been on our show plenty of times, right,
he came on and talked about he used to talk
about all the nutritious stuff he would have in the
club baster, the game was a lot of fun. And
this is part of his personal blog and and and
what he believes. He wasn't gonna come out. He decided

(09:53):
that on Memorial Day he didn't want it to be
a situation of him disrespecting the troops, disrespecting the flag,
So he came out for the national anthem on Memorial Day.
I assume he's going to go back to not coming
out for the national anthem tomorrow. But Memorial Day he
came out for it. He said Monday on his blog,
I'll be standing for the anthem. I believe strongly in

(10:14):
honoring and mourning our country service men and women who
fought and died for that right. So he came out
to do it. And this story the last few days
has gotten a lot of attention, and there's many managers
who have had his back and said I understand this.
And then you have another manager saying I disagree, Tony
LaRussa of the White Sox saying, I believe something has
to be done. This is all about gun violence and
and and Texas that we're still reeling from, which is

(10:36):
ten days after Buffalo, which we're still reeling from. It
doesn't stop. And you know, Tony Larissa made some good points. Look,
I believe something needs to be done. I don't think
um not coming out for the national anthem is the
right thing. I spent a lot of time with Vets,
and I understand this is what I'm gonna do. And
you know what, both of them can be right, all right,
both of them can be right, all right, never never

(10:58):
forget that the United States, this is what freedom is about. Right,
This is the whole thing that you should be able
to do what you want to do. Right. If Gabe
Kapler doesn't want to come out gay kapit doesn't have
to have to come out. Tony Russa wants to come out,
Tony Russa comes out. If Tony Russa disagrees with Gabe Kapler,
he can say what he wants. Right, this is what
it should be about. We should be able to have
this story and stories like this come out without it

(11:20):
just being I'm right, you're and there's nowhere to meet,
right because certain certain times, Look in sports talk radio,
when we talk about a topic, there's right and there's wrong. Right,
I'm right because Jimmy Butler should have taken that freaking three.
And I'll tell you why in a few minutes. Right, Oh, no,
you're wrong, He's out the only right to take that three. Look,
there's right and wrong. But on something something like this
that gets bigger, that's bigger than sports. It should be

(11:41):
something that we can Hey, we can give both sides
of this on and I like that Gabe Kapler is
doing this because he is keeping this conversation alive, that
something needs to be done right, that something needs to
be done for the children, for everybody in our country,
because gun violence is out of control. Something has to happen.
So I'm glad that he's done, that he's gone and
kept the conversation happening. And and every day when as

(12:03):
long as the conversation is happening, I can go to
bed and wake up hoping for a miracle and hoping
that something has happened and both sides have fought, and
something can get done and and everything can be figured out,
because in the end, we're all in this together, and
we forget that we are. We forget that, you know,
we're not in this Half of us are not in
on one side, and half of us are not. We're
all in this whole thing together, right. Everybody who has

(12:24):
differing views has to live with each other, across the
street from each other, sometimes in the same house of
each other. And so when I see this with Gabe Capital,
I say, good for him. I see Tony LaRussa, I
think there's better ways. Good for him. This is the
way it should be. And like I said, because of this,
I could wake up every day and hope for a miracle. Well,
and and that's the thing. At least at this point,
it hasn't been to my knowledge, and and I'll be

(12:46):
be honest, I knew it existed. I haven't followed you know,
any huge uh follow ups with it, you know that
I haven't seen anything to where it's become uh an
aggressive stance, you know, to the to where it's been
politicized and and where sides have been taken here obviously
Tony LaRussa made his comments, you know, but that but

(13:08):
that's been about the extent of it. And in each
article and and clip that I've seen, which again not
extensive research on the topic, but it stayed in the
he's doing this, and then there's an immediate because and
if that's his personal conviction and that's how he feels,
then that's you know, it's his right, right, I want.

(13:30):
I can never tell you how to feel about something,
you know, anything we're talking about here on the show,
but certainly in this respect, if he thinks for him personally,
this will bring some level of piece that he's at
least from his position able to make a statement and
and may have a conversation that gets further then you

(13:50):
know that's by by his rights. And what we celebrate
here h and commemorate on Memorial Day is the way
to go um on a law your scale. You know,
it's going to take a lot of people, uh, getting
in touch with their congress people, their senators all the
way up to h Pennsylvania to to really affect and

(14:13):
an exact change and really a lot of voices and
to to make to make this swell. But for Gabe Kapler,
he's a voice trying to raise his his consciousness and
I certainly can't fault him for that. And you know,
we'll see how he goes forward. But today honoring the

(14:33):
lives of those lost uh and and we all do
and certainly we're we're honored to be here and to
be able to gab and talk about top gun and
things of that nature and have some fun and share
some information with y'all. Be sure to catch live editions

Slash match limitations they do apply. We got Jason Laka

(15:19):
for coming up in a couple of minutes. But uh,
looks like the Rangers are headed to the Eastern Conference Final.
They are gonna beat my Hurricanes, and the Hurricanes are
gonna lose at home. It's for nothing with fifteen minutes
left to go on the third quarter. But so in
the third in the third period, but the Mets are
winning and I've seen top gun twice, so I get

(15:43):
the yin and yang of my weekend right Like, Okay,
I don't know, but right right now, I'm just feeling
for Auntie Ronta right down trying to stretch and uh,
let's just say, I think something tore up there. Yeah
that was not good man. Yeah, I haven't had our
first string goal since but before the end of the
regular season, it was tough. Third goalie comes in, he um,

(16:06):
he makes a hell of a save and then another shot,
uh Strom comes down. Get this. They give the stat
on the broadcast. It was his forty second shot on
goal of the playoffs, second time he found the back
of the net to make it three nothing at that point, Uh,
the lead continues to swell. Uh and Uh, it was

(16:26):
a good run for your squad, buddy, it was. It
was looked that both both teams are about the same,
they're both good. Look just Orcan is a good goalie,
you know, so I can't really say a lot. We're
playing with our second goalie, So that's kind of how
it goes sometimes. But speaking of baking, as I get
to celebrate, listen, like I said, winning, are you gonna
start doing the thing already with well the Celtics squad

(16:48):
because nobody was healthy? Are we gonna do that already?
I'm telling you we missed Anderson. Okay, he's good. We
missed him. But speaking of celebrating a man who I'm surprised,
I think he may be joining us actually from the
Maryland lacrosse party as they are your undefeated national champions
winning earlier today, Uh, finishing an eighteen and old season,

(17:12):
the Maryland Terrapists. Congratulations Jason lacafora yes, the terms are
badass um I did not attend any of these games,
but I'll take credit for him. I'd take credit for
the whole damn season. I have to whatever, you know
how saying your wine in Carapan country, and we do

(17:32):
support the terms you know, on the whole by and large.
But we have not been to College Park in a minute,
and we I you know what, though, Well, there's gonna
be a PA number eight in the country and hosting
a regional for the first time ever. But there's gotta

(17:53):
be a parade, right, there's gotta be lacrosse par I
don't know where you have for lacrosse parades, but there's
gotta be one, right, probably down Route one. That would
be down Route one College pardon, Yeah, we'd take it
straight from College Park to d C. Let's go. Um. Now, look,
they had an amazing season, the men and the women
that are perennially um in the mix for hardware. But

(18:18):
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little
more captivated by this baseball thing, because again, Maryland is
not traditionally, you know, an amazing baseball school, and here
we are number eight in the country and hosting a regional.
So oh here, right here, I thought you were gonna
say about that, I think you say fired up by

(18:39):
this baseball thing. It was the Jock Peterson Tommy fam fantasy.
That is the story of the millennial, the story of
my lifetime. Um what I want to be the thirty
you know, the whatever, the thirty thirty documentary. I want
to like, I want it all, Like I originally I

(19:01):
thought it was like a WWF thing, Like I thought
it was a promotion. Like I thought it was because
I didn't hadn't seen the video of the actual slap
and so whatever. It was four or five days ago
and I'm in the car and I'm hearing about all this,
and I'm like, because obviously Jock Peterson he's a good

(19:22):
time boy, right, like he's he's up for whatever. Like
I really don't know what to take seriously and whatnot.
And then you see the original quotes and without seeing
the slap, and I'm just like, this whole thing is fabricated.
And then you see the actual slap, and then I

(19:43):
come to find out just how crazy Tommy Fan is
and Tommy Famp is crazy. Yeah, So then it's like,
oh my god, I just want to see all of
the text string Like I want to be privy to
everything these guys texted to each other, and and I
want to be privy to their bank accounts because from
what I'm hearing, it's a six figure like difference between

(20:06):
finishing first and finish in the second. All over Jeff Wilson,
that's all. It's probably it's probably more money than Jeff
Wilson got paid to play last year. And it's all
over Jeff. I R this is this. I mean, look,
we all do fantasy leagues. I've done industry leagues. You
do industry leagues. Does it get this heated in your

(20:26):
industry leagues? No? But I'm telling I'm telling you, I
think there was a hundred thousand dollars on the line,
Like I think the difference between that's what it was. Yes,
that's what I'm hearing. So I think the difference like
that's why Tommy fam is well. And and again I
think Tommy Fam is one to probably lose his mind,

(20:46):
like much easier than most of us. But and I
don't know, I don't think he has a leg to
standard because I really don't think Jock did anything like
wrong or remotely egregious. And this whole idea about oh,
and then he said that like mean gift or jiff
or whatever they call it about the padres padres anymore,

(21:11):
Like what are we doing here? But so the whole
thing is crazy. But yes, I think I think he's
piste off because he lost in his mind, he lost
a hundred thousand dollars because of this transaction. And I
don't know again, not privy to their final like standings
and who won this by this many points or whatever,

(21:34):
but there was a lot of money at stake. Wow,
a hundred I have I haven't heard that. I mean,
we theorize some kind of monetary situation, but trying to
put the figure to it, that's a whole other animal,
you know, not not for nothing. But you can't practice. No,

(21:55):
you can't do you can't do that, even if it's
not about can't. Right again, Tommy, fam we we don't
need to read his entire listing. Go back to COVID
strip clubs, stabbing, just looking up to show where where
some of this stuff goes, the bad, the slide and
the would be fight a couple of weeks ago, a

(22:17):
lot of pressure building up there. But we certainly as
as we get to we're in free agency to O
T A s. The optionality of it all? Is that
a word? Uh? What do we get to uh? Rogers?
Uh and Murray and and then looking at well Lamar there,
I mean you know now that the week is has progressed,
I mean any any traction? Uh? And and what what

(22:40):
are your feelings when it comes to voluntary? Well? What
what do you have to have in the accomplishment book
to really make it voluntary? Well, I would say this,
I think it's far more egregious for Aaron Rodgers not
to be in Wisconsin than it is for Lamar Jackson
not to be in Bottomore because Aaron Rodgers has won

(23:00):
at the game of life and one at the game
of football. I mean, okay, so he has sit in
that green room for a little while and he was oh,
he was mad. He was puffing and panting and he
couldn't wait for somebody to pick him. But that's been
about sixteen years ago, and since then, once he got
a chance to play, he got a chance to play

(23:21):
with a franchise that was loaded for bear, and he
got himself three quality bites at the apple with that
franchise in terms of um extensions, including this latest one.
That gives him basically one d and two million fully
guaranteed for two years. And they draft all these new

(23:43):
receivers finally, and he can't you know, he'd rather be
hitting golf balls and walking the earth like kung fu
and whatever, doing yoga. I don't know, um whatever he's
up to. I think that's far more he just then
Lamar and Jackson staying away because Lamar Jackson has been
the biggest bargain in football his entirety of his rookie

(24:08):
contract and now sitting there on the fifth year option
that he didn't negotiate, that he had no saying what
that total was, what he was going to be playing for,
right like all that was decided from up high, like
the players Association and the owners, and and then I

(24:29):
just it boggles my mind that people are like freaking
out about Lamar Jackson not being there, and it's like, well,
if you were Lamar Jackson, you wouldn't be there either,
Like why why why would you be there? It's a
voluntary They gave you a low ball offer before Josh
Allen signed his deal, then they gave you another low

(24:51):
ball offer after Josh Allen signed his deal, and then
they never paid you or put anything on paper close
to you're worth. But you're the bad guy, like you're
the one who's less than or not holding up in
the end of the bargain. That's that's all b S man.

(25:12):
This is this is a product not of Lamar Jackson.
It's a product of Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens
takes two to tango. He's not the reason they're at
this point. It's him and Eric to Costa and the
Bashadi and it takes a village to get to this

(25:33):
screwed up of a point with the contract, so he
shouldn't be there. If he had an agent, they'd really
be ruined today that this they came to this point,
because the agent would be ripping them in the press,
ripping them on social media, really putting pressure on them
in every way possible, whereas Lamar is just doing the

(25:57):
you know, the past path of least resistance, and he's
kind of got this little bit of a passive aggressive
thing going on with him. But he hasn't said anything
negative about the team, any saying negative about the BS
contract offers they've made him anything negative about what it
took to get to this point, he's just showing up

(26:19):
for stuff that he gets paid to show up for
and not showing up for the other stuff. All right. Lastly,
Ja Jason locking forward with us here at Fox Sports Radio.
Aaron Donald did the I Am Athlete Podcast with Aaron
with Brandon Marshall and said that he is at peace
with his career if he doesn't play again. I mean
he wants a big contract, wants more moneys. I'l played

(26:42):
his dally signed in Um. Could we really be looking
at the end of Aaron Donald's NFL career? What? What? What?
What's the deal here? Well, he has the ability to
play that card. He should be playing that card, Like
who can dispute what he's saying? Hey, I put my
twelve years on paper, film, Uh, metrics, advanced metrics, however

(27:07):
you want to evaluate me. I am in the top
I don't know one two percent three of dudes who
have ever played football for a living. And my contract
now looks a little bit, uh, you know, cheaper than
it should. And I'm at piece with going out the

(27:32):
Super Bowl champion. And if somebody wants to step in
and alter the equation and pay me a whole lot
more than I'm said to make to keep playing, then
I can do that too. So he's being smart, he's
being savvy. You guys are out there, you guys are

(27:52):
in so cal. Do you think standing Cronky is gonna
let Aaron Donald just walk away just you know, go
off into the ether without a massive extension to think about,
you know, like he paid all that money for that stadium,

(28:13):
he built his football Cozma Hall, he did the thing
for Stafford, he re ups with McVeigh, like the Odell
Beckham thing, the von Miller thing. Like what they're going
to eventually do for Cup again, Like do they like
to do stars go running screaming out of l A

(28:35):
or do they get another you know, like changing contract.
Like now they're a top three spending team in the
NFL and I don't see that changing anytime soon. And
they're going to want to defend this title and they
know how important he is. So I think at some
point between now and you know, late August, they make

(28:59):
him an offer he can't refuse. He's on Twitter at
Jason locking for that is at Jason locking for. I'm
assuming the offer will be more than the hundred k
Tommy fam lost out on with Jack Peterson. We'll wait
for that offer. Jay has always mighty appreciated. Man, I
have a great week. We'll talk to you. Thank you, Jackson. Unbelievable,

(29:21):
A hundred thousand dollar league and that that's what this
was a much funny because we theorized that at the
end of the week, right as this was starting to develop.
It's like, all right, how big is big? And we
we never got to a hundred thousand. No, no, no,
we did. We didn't get that high, like maybe tens
of thousands maybe you know, transactional things. But it's a

(29:42):
hundred grand, yeah, I mean even for guys that have
made Look, Tommy fam has been in been in Major
League Baseball now for about a dozen years. Right, he's
made it. He's made a decent amount of money. Okay,
so a hundred thousand for him is not that big
a deal. Jack Peterson as well, he's played a long time.
He's made really really good money. But when you're talking
about we're playing for the stakes and that hundred thousand

(30:04):
dollars is right there and we're doing it's different and
it's okay. Now I'm in because I say it's a
twelve team league. It's like ten thousand dollars per person
a little bit probably a little bit more than that,
maybe depending on what it is. You know. So you're
so you're putting it, you're writing a decent size check
that you're remembering writing, and with that money, this is
what happens. Look, you see people get upset. I see
people get upset when I'm in a twenty five dollar

(30:25):
league when the first prize is like a hundred and
fifty dollars and it's like, I just I can't believe
you did that. We're gonna fight. I want to beat
you in the park at midnight. Uh it happens. So
a hundred thousand grand even for athletes. Yeah, but wow, man,
a hundred thousand dollar league, And that's what this is for.
That's an insider for you, Jason lock and for having
he said that was the difference between the money second place,

(30:45):
who under grand? So think about what that real number
is of entry, what the what the prizes are, Oh
my goodness. Be sure to catch live editions of The

Mike Harmon and on Memorial Day, look, it's obviously a
day where we give thanks to the troops. Who made

(32:12):
the ultimate sacrifice for us to keep our freedoms and
keep our way of life, and and and I hope
nobody ever forgets that. Uh for sports. Look, you know, hey,
some people work, some people don't. It's a holiday, I
get it, um, but it's always a day that is
very big in baseball because Memorial Day is one of

(32:32):
the benchmark days where you look back and what we've
seen the first couple of months, you say, Okay, does
do what we've seen from these teams make sense? Is
they do we believe what they're doing? Do we think
they're just fools? Gold? What? What do we think? But
I want to look back and Mike, and you know,
I know only a couple of months in here, I
know I know this. I't on a couple months in.
I know that you're just feeling a little chasty then.

(32:53):
But but but yeah, I told you the Yankees we're
gonna go to the World Series and they have the
best record in baseball. Yeah, I told you Aaron Judge
was gonna win the m v P. And look where
Aaron Judges. He he's first in home run, second in
RBI's fourth and ops he's hitting three fifteen Aaron Judge

(33:13):
is gonna win m v P in the American League.
I told you Francisco Lindoor is gonna be m v
P in the National League. Uh, look who's third in
RBIs right now in the National League is Francisco Lindor.
So my bold prediction. And look, if Pete Alonzo wins,
I'm okay with taking the element because he leads the
National League in RBIs, So I'm okay with that. But
so far that you know, picking the top of the

(33:36):
big you know, world Series m v ps, I'm feeling
pretty good where I'm at so far. No, it's pretty good.
I'm glad I didn't put a lot of stock in
in trying to promote my White Sox as a monster
team sitting at five hundred. Although at this point you've
got a giant laundry list of guys, like if we
could play your game of well, these guys were hurt.
We didn't have a goalie White Sox one time. We

(33:59):
didn't have a Hurricanes goalie. You're whining about it all
in the preview. So the idea, you know, with the
White Sox and not Tim Anderson. The latest here injury
time for you now as well, so I didn't get
down that h I did say. I thought the the
Orioles would be better. There's still eight games under five hundred,
but at winning clip, I'll take it. Austin Riley was

(34:23):
my n L m v P. He's been awful. So
it's eleven home runs, three RB I int seven games
betting a nice robust too, fitty. Uh well, you know
what I was hoping for more and the Braves, as
you've heard in Steve's update, not exactly uh climbing to
the top of any mountain anytime soon either. So uh yeah,

(34:46):
it's it's been a mixed bag to say the least. Well,
here's that make you feel better. But in a few minutes,
when when I tell you where my surprise playoff teams are,
Mary gave you three big surprise playoff teams. Oh my goodness.
I was more right about the Celtics seat series then
I wasn't. That was about these these guys. But just
to go big game money, Harron, Judge, Francisco Lindor, Well, men,

(35:08):
you took some chalk because just like the Warriors, they
were some of the most bet I had your Don
Alvarez still upper tier because there are a couple of
National League teams mixed. They're in bell. I also told
you the Mets are gonna be great. Look at the
Mets Man. You've been saying that for as long as
we've been doing a show. Asked, Hey, Jimmy Butler, was

(35:28):
his shot right or wrong? That's next, Fox,
