(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. How many radio hosts
does it take to order pizza? The answer is four? Well,
I mean you got different tastes, different flavors. Uh. The
whole gluten thing that took took us sideways, you know,
trying to make sure everybody gets a little I mean,
(00:47):
for lack of a better chart, a piece of the pie.
I'm not even trying to be funny because we're back
tonight the Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. UH.

the first time all of us since the beginning of
the pandemic, Mike, myself, Ty Shirt justin Frostburg. Over the
course of the last couple of years, you know, each
of us have been in at different times, and we
did the show from the Super Bowl together, and you
(01:29):
come in on Sundays, and you know, I came in
a couple of times a month or two ago. But
this is the first time the four of us have
been back together in the last two years. And and
you know, to celebrate, we wanted to order pizza. It
took us fifty six minutes to decide what we wanted
to get. I'm not twenty five anymore. Yeah, yeah, whatever,
(01:49):
Get two pies, geta get a get a large, get
a large, uh pepperoni and a veggete. Yeah. Great, good,
it's ordered. We're in now. And it took us fifty
six minutes to figure it out. So basically, what you're
saying and is nothing has changed at all. No, nothing
has changed. Well, but it's it's a lot of all Right,
what do you think, what are you feeling? How do
you like? We you do that in your house and here,
(02:11):
and once it actually gets to the studio. And that's
the thing about radio for folks. I mean, you've you've
been with us a long time, or if your first
time listeners to the show, welcome. Anything that shows up
that is remotely edible at a radio studio doesn't provide
long no. No, even if it's the worst flavor of
a donut or a pizza's like, I don't. I don't
(02:31):
like those topics you eat around him, Yeah, and they'll
be scraps, kind of like little remnants left. It goes
away quickly. That too, well, yeah, yeah, you know, l
A rats are very they're big now, yes, well it's
much bigger than when I was here last. Yeah, oh
they are. Yeah, and there's more of them, there's more. Yeah.
You used to be able to get rid of them
all now and now there's more. Uh you know. But
(02:53):
the thing is that is like like here, I didn't
think it was that big a deal. I didn't think
I had any I say, well, these guys wanted, but
harmon goes okay, So what do you want to get
on on the pizza? You're gonna have it, So I
just want extra cheese? Well, what about meat. They got
a lot of meat. I said, how about meatball? All right?
They got Italian sausage. They have impossible sausage. They have
a Buffalo sausage. They have mozzarella. So I go, I
(03:14):
don't want to just get me that's a venice. But wait, wait,
wait they they actually had. Now they have ground beef.
There's a bacon, bacon. I'm like, just just I told
you what I wanted, Just get it. You didn't. The
more choices you give me, the more let's let's just
get the pizza and really blew in your mind, because
now you started going into a Frankenstein mode of oh
(03:36):
if we mixing this with this and add a little
bit of that, and now it's a ninety seven dollar
pizza and the meats. Oh yeah, we're we're rolling up
that money. Man, We're rolling up at that price tonight.
But speaking of rolling stuff up, oh that's a bad
seg right. Uh. Speaking of you know, we talked about
(03:57):
how in the playoffs there's been no better suit aries
than the Oilers and the Flames right in the NHL,
and that was an incredible series. Even though it was
only five games. Every game was high, scoring was up
and down the ice. It was fantastic. Uh, maybe it's
the Oilers because we just watched the end of Game
one of the Western Conference Finals, the Avalanche hold off
(04:20):
Edmonton eight to six. Right, this is a game the
Avalanche had in hand. It was six three and suddenly
it's seven six and the Oilers are pressing and they're
pulling their goalie and Smith is coming off and it's oh,
this is insane. I mean, you get game. Game one
of the last round was nine six, all right, this
one is eight six, and it's about as exciting as
(04:42):
you can get. Because this this is kind of what
the NHL needs. You want to talk about excitement, bringing
people back close games, but let's see action up and
down the ice and lots of goals. Right, Nobody wants
the two to one games, one nothing game. Now, they
want you you give me goals. People are gonna tune in, right,
And I'm glad it was on t N tonight. I'm
glad that people got to see it, you know, you
and I because they probably turned on and hoping there
(05:05):
was a basketball game. Is hockey? Are they rerunning J R.
Smith's play from four years ago on t N T tonight? No,
I got a hockey game. Oh, where does ed Monton?
Where is Where is that? Is that in the United States?
Where is ed Monton? Edmonton? All right, that's in Uh?
Is that in Europe? Is that near Denmark? Is that
on the on the Uh? So? Yeah, you know, just
(05:27):
the old adage of oh, sign me up for six
more games of these. Yeah, it's kind of funny, right
because that guy that I love it to one game, right,
the tents nature and the last couple of minutes and
what's gonna happen? When is you gonna pull the goalie?
What are they gonna do this? Like, oh of those
kind of thing, you know, And we still got that
even in a ridiculous you know, eight six final here
(05:50):
because you watched at the when McDavid scored to make
it seven four, and then you get into the third period, uh,
and then you get Ryan and then Nugent Hopkins. Uh,
all of a sudden at seven six, and you're looking
around going alrighty, then what looked like it was gonna
be on cruise control? And and we've seen so many things.
We were talking about last night's game. Oh there's a
groin injury, Like like every sport, there's just that one
(06:14):
moment that can suddenly shift everything. And here because I
got to read his name. When you've got a guy
like McDavid in the game, right, you're already drawing some
of the peripheral stuff because superstars, right, superstar rules, uh
and eyeballs. Get to the playoffs and people start paying attention,
watch the get the ticker or look at your phone,
(06:37):
and all of a sudden you're getting updates that you're
getting this kind of goal production. Even the most casual
of fans is at least gonna tune in for a
minute or two thinking that they're gonna see some wildness. Right,
So yeah, everybody wins and Wayne Gretzky speaking wisdom, especially
with his old team as one of the participants here,
that's fun for business. I'm telling you. This has been
(06:59):
a fun playoff for the NHL. And I say it's fun.
And my team's out. My team just got knocked out
in seven games because we couldn't beat the Rangers and
minds miird in all sorts of scandals we don't even
want to talk about. Yeah, no, no, no, that's yeah, yeah,
that's that's probably a good thing. The on ice performance really,
not even the top story related to the Blackhawks. Let's
hear the excitement level of the final call of eight
(07:22):
six that we just heard three seconds, two seconds, one second,
sound the hard in a wild game one in the wild,
wild West, the Avalanche put eight on the Edmonton Oilers
and they lead this best of seven series one to nothing.
(07:44):
Altitude Sports on the call, wild being the operative word
in that final call. Wild was was said about eight times.
Weird and wild, weird and wild not not went and wild,
weird and wild. Wow, you're really really viewing it on
a Tuesday. You're just a drop machine over here. But yeah,
eight six, Yeah, you put up eight goals. Okay, that's
(08:04):
one game, right, Like we always talking about with blowouts
and everything else, because this is one they had to sweat. Yeah,
we needed everyone. It's it's you're you're sweating it out
thinking you were on cruise control. Uh. And that's the
beauty of this point in the playoffs is you don't
have teams that are that are stopping. Right. We've watched
it in the basketball series time and again I was like,
(08:25):
all right, this game is another blowout. It might end
to blowout, but damn it, you're gonna get a run.
That's the way it works. Hockey goals don't come normally
so frequently, but in this playoffs overall, we've seen it
a little bit more where the games have opened up
and that's good for business. Twitter and how about a fresca,
Mike has swallen on The Jason Smith Show with my
best friend Mike Harmon. Now, speaking of the playoffs, we're
(08:48):
getting set for Game one of the NBA Finals and
we still got a couple of days for a don't work.
We got a couple of days before ye yea and
the odds of NBA Finals m v P came out
today and Steph Curry is the favorite to No. One's surprise.
Number one because Steph Curry is playing great. Number two
because the media so wants to give him this award.
(09:09):
They so wanting. He's such a nice guy, he's so
good for so long. We just want to give him
because he didn't give it. We want to give it
to him. We wanted to, we wanted to be finally, Hey,
Steph's really as great as everybody says he is, because
you know, he hasn't want an NBA Finals m v
P and they so want to get I don't know
what people want more the the the media wanting Mac
(09:31):
Jones to be Tom Brady, or the media wanting Steph
Curry to win NBA Finals. How about this, I'll add
a story that's kind of still circulating to the mix.
Can you still retroactively go and take a Goodalla's away
and give it to Steph Curry like they took away
Max Jus's three pointer many minutes after, as long as
you say, if it's not right away, if you're setting
(09:52):
a precedent that you're taking stuff away an hour and
I at this point years but and I love andre
Igadalla is still part of this squad anything else, But
you know, can you just take that away from him
and then hand it over to Steph Curry so everybody
will shut the hell up about these damn conference m
vps and what have you. I wish the Oscars could
do that. Hey, we're gonna take We're gonna go back
(10:12):
and really tell you what the best film was. We're
gonna go back and give this to Shaw Shank. Okay,
we're gonna go back and do that, all right. We're
gonna go back and give that Best Supporting Actor to
Ray Fines or Leonardo DiCaprio and taken away from Tommy
Lee Jones. Uh. Yeah, if the Oscars would do it,
that would be great. Let's get a retroactive oscars take
it away. I heared someone with a hot take driving
around and maybe two weeks ago, I said, you know what,
(10:33):
the oscars aren't going to exist in five years at all.
And I laughed, and I go, I like it theoretically, right.
It's like I always tell you, I like this in theories.
But the reality is, everybody likes slapping each other on
the backs too much. Hollywood. They just have to figure
out how to do a good show again, how to
(10:53):
do a good show again? But alshow lost that? Look
this weekend we got we got butts back in seats, right,
whatever you want to say. And I've seen some hot
take artists of the I didn't like Maverick because this
that the other I was like, okay, fine, now you're
now you're just becoming one of those guys. Right, I'm
gonna go the other way, just because you know, not
like anybody would ever do that in sports talk radio
(11:14):
or sports team television, you know, say something just that
they know is categorically false. Uh, to get a rise
out of people. But you know, the the idea of
getting people back into theaters, and it's fun because you
go and you see trailers and you might get a
little bit of momentum, right because you've got Jurassic Park
coming two weeks after the fact, and then you start
getting into summer movies and and maybe there's a little
(11:37):
momentum to get people back into theaters, which you know
is good, good for the psyche, good for the soul,
good to be back in those environments, much like being
back in a game like Frostburg would love to be,
you know, at Dodger Stadium, cheering on the as they're
trying to come back from that four zero deficit. They've
knocked two ins an hour four to and he slip
(12:00):
it into home plate like it very hypnotically. No, he
didn't like. Yeah, but I'm gonna give you this for
my finals. M v p uh. Look, Steph and Jayson
Tatum are the two favorites, but I'm gonna go to
a guy who's plus thirty five because he has the storyline.
Eddie has that attention that's gonna come with having the
(12:20):
series that he could have, and I'm gonna go with
Marcus Smart. Look at you, because if he shuts down
Steph Curry, that's the story of the finals. And as
long as he contributes offensively to where you look, he
can be the number three guy behind Tatum and Jalen Brown.
But if he has that kind of series and Steph
Curry struggles and Marcus Smart plays, well, yeah, give me
Marcus Smart for NBA Finals m v P because he's
(12:42):
gonna have the attention because if Steph doesn't play well,
it's gonna be because Marcus Smart is gonna be on him. Right.
That's kind of how the Celtics have done it when
they play the Warriors. Marcus Smart is the guy on
on him. If that happens, that's a pretty good value
at Marcus Smart plus thirty NBA Finals, got dig it.
I'm kind of looking at one and the odds I'm
finding is from bed MGM. So got that. You've got
(13:04):
nine players that have odds under a hundred to one. Uh,
the last of them being loony. Uh since picking the
Celtics to win the series, Uh, really not a lot
of value outside of Smart. You'd really have to have
something crazy happened for Derek White at his to come in.
So yeah, I'll look to Jayleen Brown. I'll take the
(13:24):
ten to one shot. Be sure to catch live editions

Joining us now on the hotline, MLB Network, NHL Network
all kinds of insider information from our next guest. You
can follom on Twitter at John Morrossy. That is at
(14:08):
John Rossi, the aforementioned John Paul Morossy JP. Again, I'm
gonna have a tough time hearing you because I'm really
all the way up here in first place, you know,
in the Mets. I'm really far away, so you may
sound very echoy. So you have you to talk a
little bit louder for me to here tonight. I will
do my best. And meanwhile, the the schaden freude at
(14:29):
the status of the Phillies is that an all time
high as they are desperate for a win. They've lost
four in a row, and there they there they are
now at home, trailing in the eleventh inning. Both teams
scored in the tenth and now the Giants have scored
in the top of the eleventh to take a five
four lead. So your your closest division rivals continue to flounder. Meanwhile,
(14:54):
I just checked my alerts and it appears there was
another goal scored in the game one of the Western
Conference Finals after the game actually concluded there with that
eight six win by the Avalanche. Now, let me send
all you guys straight here about the Mets for a second.
You're the division stings. The reason these teams stakes is
because they're all playing the Mets, and the Mets are
(15:15):
beating everybody. They've played, the Phillies, the Brain, those the
only teams they played, the Phillies, the Brands. They're all
losing because they're all losing to the Mets, all right,
So it's like, oh, they say, no, the Mets are
beating everybody. That's what it is. Well, and I'll say this,
certainly the Mets tonight a ten nothing win over the
(15:37):
Nationals and and obviously the starter for Washington to night
uh the former Game seven hero Patrick Corbyn. So they
are they are earning their wins. And I realized the
Nationals are not the Nationals of old. But the Mets
I think have done a pretty admirable job. Now. There was, though,
there was that three game series against the Giants in
(15:58):
which they lost two out of three. That was probably
the best team they've played in a while, and they
were not able to get the series when there. They
also lost that series against the Mariners. So some minor
issues here and there, Jason. It's it's not going to
be an unfettered march between here and the World Series championship.
But things do continue to look good for the Mets,
(16:19):
even without what three five to their normal rotations, so
they're they're still performing pretty admiably. I do wonder, Jason,
if perhaps they're going to be one of the teams
I'm talking about a lot leading up to the August
second trade deadline as it look for starting pitching. All Right,
so I'll ask my NHL question in a minute. But
(16:39):
for the Philadelphia Phillies, is Girardi getting fired this week? Well,
I don't. I'll say this, I don't know, first and foremost,
but the the pressure is rising and we might be
seeing in real time how things are unfolding there. It
just does not seem like there is anything good going
(17:01):
on for the Phillies right now. Todd's Alecky, who covers
the team be reporter for MLB dot Com, said today
that he thought it was a fifty fifty chance that
Girardi finishes the year as the manager, which is pretty
startling when you consider Joe's pedigree when the season began.
I'm trying to say that basically, when they when the
year began, you never would have thought that Joe was
(17:23):
in trouble. But he clearly is. And and it's not
as though we're hearing a big, sweeping words of support
and and pledging for the full season from the likes
of John Middleton or Dave Dombrowski. This is a team
that that was supposed to be a lot better than
they are. Their defense was supposed to be better, the
lineup was supposed to be better. And I think one
(17:44):
of the other things that we have to remember here
is that Harper can't play the field because of his elbow,
and until that changes, the lineup is not going to
be at all what they expected it to be. The
defense not really working, the bullpen has just been a kay.
I mean, this is a it's a pretty surprising set
of circumstances that Dy's job is in jeopardy, but I
(18:06):
think it's fair to say that it is. You know, JP,
when we were talking about this a few minutes ago,
we we we talked about looking at the Memorial Day
deadline and where where we are with teams, and last
night we spent some time on the Yankees. I made
the preseason pick of the Yankees to win the World Series,
and I'm pretty happy with that. Said Aaron Judge is
gonna be the m v P. I'm pretty happy with that.
If I had to look at the National League right now,
(18:27):
you know, I'm being serious because I'm not just gonna
say no match. Uh. Look, how many injuries can the
Mets with stand right? The Dodgers usually find a way
to hit empty on the gas tank sometime during the postseason.
If I had to pick one team right now to say,
who's gonna make it out of the National League looking
at this benchmark day he Memorial Day, I would give
you the Brewers because the Brewers have no weaknesses. They
(18:49):
hit home runs, they steal bases, their bullpen is lights out.
They lead the league in quality starts. I feel like
they're October proof right now. And and if I if
I had to pick one team to say who's gonna
navigate it and can navigate that right now, I'll give
you the Brewers. So it's it's a very fair point.
I would actually disagree slightly and go with the Dodgers
(19:10):
because I'll say, on the Dodgers for a minute, and
then I'll go Brewers. Dodgers number one, they're they're where
they are right now, best record the National League without
Kershaw barely pitching it all this season. Um and Dustin May,
who is due to come back at some point in
the middle of the year. And you see what the
lineup looks like. Now you can tell Freeman and That's
(19:32):
are just such a great duo that they've become really
close friends off the field. I like the way this
team sets up, and I think we're going to see
an even better version of trade Turner as the year
goes along, as well as he of course enters free
agency with the Brewers. The last, the last bit of
pitching injury news. Now with Freddy perraulta on the I
(19:54):
l for a while, I'm not sure what his future
looks like for this year, and then Woodruff also is
laying on the I Now, they've got a couple of
guys that they brought up, Ashby and Small, both very good.
Um and Howser I think is one of the very
good underrated pitchers in baseball. They're a really good team.
I certainly they're going to be in the playoffs. I
have every confidence to that, but in a seven game
(20:15):
series against the Dodgers, even though as you mentioned, the
Dodgers have shown their vulnerability in October's passed with the
exception of I really do believe the Dodgers are the
most complete team right now with current personnel, and also
believing the Dodgers are going to get healthier as their
guys come back. And I just I still have question
(20:37):
marks if you if you were to ask me how
many more starts this year does the gram make? How
many more starts this year the shows are make? I
just have a lot of uncertainty with both those answers.
Jason Switzhell, Mike Armen here, Fox Sports Radio on the hotline,
whether us our buddy, I'm Michigander, MLB Network, NHL Network broadcaster,
He's all over the place NBC Sports writing. He's a
(21:00):
man who knows everything, a renaissance man. He's our guy.
John Paul Morosy on Twitter at John Morrosy. Leave out
the H J O N M O R O S
I hi mom uh so JP as I read off
all of your your efforts, the work you do as
you plug yourself in each night to get your batteries refreshed.
I asked this question with a little tongue in cheek,
(21:22):
but kind of serious. Why are there Why is there
higher scoring in the NHL playoffs, uh than in Major
League Baseball? Now, that is a great question. You're referring,
of course, to the eight six final. Remarkably, in this
game there was only one multiple goal score jt Comfort
(21:43):
for Colorado. Of course, jt uh some roots here for
the University of Michigan years ago. But it's amazing to
think that that's the case, and it really shouldn't be.
Certainly the NHL playoffs should be lower scoring than baseball.
Now the ball, I do think this last week or so,
we have seen the ball travel a little bit differently anecdotally.
(22:06):
Whether it's the weather warming, whether it's the hitters finally
catching up to the lack of at bats and spring training,
it does appear that the game is getting back a
little closer to normal. I also think that it's possible
that at some point the hitters began to adjust to
the new reality of the way the ball is traveling
and perhaps are changing their offensive approach a little bit.
(22:29):
But I think as far as the NHL side of things, guys,
you've got two teams in Colorado and Edmonton that just
skate and and you've got two of the best i'm
gonna say best ever in terms of just creative, fast,
offensive playmakers in in McDavid for for Edmonton and McKinnon
for Colorado. So just watch it to tune in up
(22:53):
and down action all over the place. It's gonna be
a great series and we I think we saw that
already in Game one tonight. Now I want to ask
you out a report I have here, JP, and I
don't want you to dodge the question you have to
come through here. I have a report here that Wayne
Gretzky you slapped him over a fantasy football disagreement. Uh.
And and in the outfield before a game. Can you
(23:14):
comment on that? So? Uh, First of all, I categoricably
deny this report, but uh, Tommy Fam and John Peterson
did not. And and I think I think I saw
the quote from earlier today from Trent Rose Cransit in Cincinnati,
the great reporter who covers the Reds for the Athletic,
(23:35):
who said that Tommy Fam indicated I think it was
a quad injury. And if I'm not, I'm not getting
exactly correct. It's my mistake. But it was a lower
body injury of some kind. So Tommy fam says he
was scratch and I'm not available to play today because
of a lower lower body injury. But he said, my
hand is okay. The lap line they're obviously referring to
(23:58):
his slap of Jack Peter snover fantasy football. The whole
thing strikes me as just bizarre and rather sad, I suppose,
And the notion that Jock Peterson had to be if
you would have said to us ten years ago that
a player is going to show you a gift on
his cell phone that he had sent into a group
(24:20):
chat about a fantasy football league that that superimposed the
Padres logo on a weightlifter who was struggling to lift weight. Um,
that that would start something that became I guess you'd
call it a physical altercation in the outfield during batting practice.
I mean, guys, this is there's a lot of wow
in that sentence that I just that rambling, run on
(24:42):
sentence that I just mentioned on on on live radio
with you. Um, it is quite a commentary and where
we're at, I'm not sure it's the good look for
really anybody, especially that Tommy fan, that there was actually
a slap that went on in the middle of a
batting practice discussion. But be that as it may, my friends,
I think one takeaway as people do take fantasy football
(25:03):
quite seriously. Now that that doesn't include me, But I'm
I'm now wise to the world of just how serious
it is. Yeah, Tommy fam developing a bit of a history,
starting to add up extra paragraphs to his Wikipedia page
with everything that he's been embroiled in over the last
couple of years. Be remissed if we didn't ask a
little bit JP Gabe Kapler his stance related to the
(25:25):
national anthem and how that's resonating throughout Major League Baseball.
Tony Larusa speaking out on the other side, talking about,
you know, the respect of the military in and such,
and Kapler for Memorial Day did come out. But you know,
how is this received in baseball over overall? Is there
any anst because obviously we look back to what happened
(25:46):
in the National Football League six years ago right now,
I think it's, first of all, it does not appear
to be, um the lead story in baseball in terms
of captivating a lot of debate back and forth. You know,
this slap flap one the weekend, no question for better
or worse, my friends are better or worse? UM that
(26:08):
it doesn't seem to add that same um pervasiveness. And
obviously a far anxiety spoke recently the GM of the
Giants and in support of Gabe Kapler. Here's here's my
my take on it. I think one of the parts
that of what Tony the RUSS has said that I
think is not getting the same sort of traction and
and uh and messaging as the disagreement part was that
(26:32):
Tony said that he agrees that there are some issues
that we have to work through as a country, which
I think we would all probably take agreement up, depending
on whatever your perspective is on it. But yes, there
are issues to be worked through. And and in fact,
he praised Gabe for being a thoughtful person and manager,
so there was a lot of respect there talking about
(26:53):
how much of respects Gabe. He just disagrees with the
way that he is registering his complaint and voicing it
to the public right now. And I think, guys, I'm
certainly an optimist in many ways, this is actually, from
my perspective, uh, a good demonstration of citizenship on both sides. Here,
(27:13):
we're allowed to disagree, We're allowed to agree on the
fundamental tenant that, yes, we have to find some ways
forward that that addressed concerns we have in our country.
And if Tony wants to do it one way and
Gabe wants to do it another, that is okay. That
is that is frankly the democracy that we have all
grown up in. And I think the one part that
(27:35):
Tony said that I think is is really important is
is it matters more what you are doing on a
day to day basis to address and effectuate the change
that you're seeking than necessarily what's going on in that
that time during the national anthem. And I think there
(27:57):
can be a reasonable case made on both sides of that.
And I'm for me, it's not really for me to
judge what's right and what's wrong. But I do think
what Tony has said about what we all have to
do about if it matters enough to you, you will
take steps in your own personal life as a citizen
about advocating for change, supporting organizations that aligned with the
change that you want to see. That that, to me
(28:20):
is a good citizenship. So whether you're align with Tony
or Gabe, I think the important thing is advocating for
things that that matter to you in a in a
constructive manner, in a way that hopefully make situation better.
I think that's at the at the fundamental level, what
our country can be and should be. And I think,
still to a degree, throughout all those struggles, still is
(28:41):
all about He's on Twitter at John Morrossy, that is
at John Morrossy MLB Network, Fox Sports Radio Baseball Insider.
JP has always appreciate your time, appreciate your honesty and uh,
we will talk to you next week. Have fun sounds really, guys,
I tried to pay attention to civics. I hope that
all sounded okay. No, I was not. I was perfect.
That was perfect work, my friend. Look, it's it's what
(29:02):
we talked about last night. Both saw you should be
able to talk about this, and the fact that we're
having a conversation, like I said, makes me wake up
every day and think, maybe today's the day for the miracle. Right,
we can talk about this and we can try to
get forward, and we're gonna need a miracle, but make
me know miracles happen, and maybe tomorrow's the day. Maybe
it's the next day, maybe's the day after that. Be

(30:31):
the Heat apparently want to blame this play for why
they lost to the Celtics, but the Max s Trus
they wanted to blame Draym hunt Green. Well, sure they
want to blame everybody. It's not my fault. But the
Max Trews three that got disallowed on Sunday during Game
(30:51):
seven after the NBA went to Secucus and it took
you know, forty five minutes under review, did he have
a three? Was he out of bounds? Uh? The NBA,
when a lot of time had passed, they come back
and say, okay, sorry that three, he was out of bounds.
We're taking that off the off the board in Miami
lost three points. Eric Spoelstra, head coach. The heat was
very upset. And now today when Max Juss asked about
(31:12):
at the end of season press conference, boy, he was
happy someone asked him that question. Thank you for pissing
me off. Again. I don't know how that was called that.
After I've seen the video, they say they have that
rule to take the human error out of the game,
and then the human error makes an error on the video.
So I don't know, um, but hopefully I don't get fined.
(31:35):
I'm obviously not happy about it, but it definitely changed
the game and the momentum. It is what it is,
I guess is the best I could put it. I'm
not happy about it. Okay, let's let's just let's let's
say a couple of things here that that are correct.
Was at the right call? No, that you can't take
points off the board. Forty five minutes later, all right,
It's like losing a fantasy football game on Wednesday. All
(31:57):
the rule to the rule adjustments came in now and
now you lost. But what do you mean you gotta
get it right within a certain period of time or
you let it go. You missed the call. You missed
the call. Uh so I agree there, It didn't help
them lose the game. There was so much time they
had to bounce back from this. Jimmy Butler still could
have made that three. At the end you wind up
winning the game. So stop with a bit of a
oh this really really no, it was a bad call.
(32:19):
You lost three points. It's stunck but looked like you
were out of bound. So in the end they did
make the right call. But yeah, okay, you lost three points.
You had plenty of time. You had you had a
quarter and a half to get those points back. Right.
Anybody that has a bad call happened against them in
in sports, whether it's in the NFL or the NBA.
(32:40):
If it happens at the end of the game and
it's in the final thirty seconds, okay, I'm with you,
because you have no time to get back from it, right,
there's really no time you lost. This is a play
you made to win a game, it didn't go your way,
and now it's taken away. There's no time to react.
You had plenty of game left to come back from this.
You had plan. It would have just been a different game.
Different things would have happened, and you had the ball
(33:00):
at the end of Jimmy Butler took a bad three.
So yeah, it was it a bad call. It was
it a bad thing to do. Yes, I disagree with
how it was done, but stop with it. And it
looks like the Heat want us to believe that that
play cost them the game in the series, Like we
can't blame ourselves on it. We want to make Oh
yeah losing that three pointer, Yeah that did it to us. Yeah.
I think in the immediate aftermath of the game, when
you're asked about it, then then you get your your
(33:22):
peace out right and just be I don't understand how
this ruling comes into play. What's the timeline? How is
that allowed? And I agree with that, Like, I really
don't see how from an NBA perspective, you can go
to the reviews and then minutes later and minutes of
game action passed by that suddenly we're taking it off
(33:44):
the board. I made the joke about jeopardy when we
convene yesterday. Oh, we've just finished the first round of Jeopardy,
really long before the commercial break. We didn't catch it
in time. But you were wrong. So that extra ten
grand that you got on the daily double answer when
you bet everything, Yeah, we're taking it all away and
you're and you're now you're now coming back from zero
(34:05):
to start double jeopardy. Um. And obviously they reviewed it
based on whether he was on the three point line
or not. And then this is where it always gets
to do. He's like, well, they can also review whether
he stepped out of bounce. You can't review it to
see if he stepped out abounds, but it can be
a by the way you stepped out about So this
(34:26):
gets just allowed, which is a whole other ruling issue
that you probably should go back and look at. But
to your point, you had plenty of opt opportunities, plenty
of possessions to make stops. Is it deflating in the moment? Sure?
Does it enrage you in the moment, yes, But you're
a bunch of grown ass men, all right. The challenge
(34:48):
just got harder For the next eighteen minutes of game
playing right. It's not like two minutes of lafs like,
oh wow, that's a five minute five point swing and
where every possession is do or die. No, still plenty
of basketball. You had a long time to come back
from it. You had a long time to come back
from it. But I get that there people look for reasons.
(35:11):
I can't process this in my head right now that
we lost this, and I just can't. So I need
to find a way to come around with it, and
I need to justify it to myself that it wasn't
my fault, you know what, I get it. This one
sucks right because it did. Even with all the angles
they had on the television broadcast, there was nothing conclusive,
and maybe the NBA had one that they didn't air
(35:33):
and didn't share. Now, it didn't mean to rhyme butt,
but that really showed definitively. So that's the other part.
I guess you could still be a little salty about
if you're the heat, but in the end you lost.
