(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. It is our four
of The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon,
where the NBA Draft is over. It is a couple
of quick observations. I did never thought about this until now. Yeah,
I never did. But Paala Boncaro kind of looks a
(00:45):
little bit like Bruno Mars. I don't know if it's
just he had the purple outfit tonight and but he
kind of looked a little looks a little like Bruno Mars.
I can get behind that a little bit. I'm really
more curious of a fashion selection. What got you to
that suit? And Grimace Grimace, See it all comes back.
(01:09):
I showed you that ad though, right, the old, the
old Grimace ad, and it was one that was multiple
pages and it's a long radio flyer that's just filled
with every item on the menu and then something but
you know between and then that chain. Right, A lot
of people were going after Chat home Grin for his
dice chain, which was a seven, like, oh, he's gonna
crap out. See, he's gonna be a bust. I told
(01:31):
you all along, and now he's wearing a seven. It's like, well,
seven into the role. You do that for a while,
you're making bank. Yeah, seven is a lucky number right
right off? Seven, seven eleven. I mean, do you not
remember today? It was a good day. It's not like
he had snake eyes or just just like that would
be a nick number of crops. Yeah, but to start,
(01:56):
it's fine, yeah, yeah, So he's just gonna be good
at this week. Yeah, and then he's got the we
can say you had a good run and he's gonna
crap out. What was I not playing that before the
showggy pop? And if I don't crap out? For about
forty seconds and he went to another song and another
(02:17):
song with no and then you I couldn't understand what
you were trying to tell me because you were mumbling
something off your phone, So I lowered it. I did
not shut it off. But yeah, thank you for trying
to disparage my good name, just like you've got a
very small sample size of experience with me. Really, Yeah,
the last nine years and every car where I'm playing songs. Now,
(02:42):
I would have truncated Paradise City when we were both
live at the Guns and Roses show and it went
for fifteen minutes. But that's a whole other thing. You
truncated eruption I did. It's only a fifty five seconds long. Yeah,
I'm done after thirty seconds. Alright, Okay, you know what,
I got my flavor next. You know the other big
(03:03):
part of the NBA draft. You know what's kind of
fun and is a little weird is that now the
end of the draft is here and players are signing
two way deals that didn't get drafted. These are all
the players, and everybody has heard of it, whether it's
Buddy Bey him or anybody else. And the draft itself
is the big mystery. I don't know who after these
players are the guys signing the two way stip so
(03:25):
except Ron Harper Jr. O'neilson. Yeah, all right, People are
all excited. People are more excited for Shackson, who signed
after the draft is over, than guys traffeded, like in
the top ten Shackson got drafted. He didn't get drafted,
he just got signed. Oh but he's playing. Yeah, but
you got a guy like the number five picked that's
really good. Yeah, but I don't know who that is.
(03:47):
But I know Jack's kid. Oh he's gonna be great.
But what really would have been great is Dan Waike
joked about it last hour, is if you actually had
the Lakers bring back shack and Scottie Pippen, I bet
they would still. Shacks just gonna eat space in the
low post. He didn't have to jump much, doesn't have
(04:09):
to run much. There's more excitement for Buddy Beheim going
to Detroit than Dyson Daniels from G League. Ignite. You
know that that went number eight overall Bud Beheim went.
Maybe maybe that's the way the NBA draft should go. Hey, listen,
we want to make sure we have ratings. They have
to be players that people have heard of, but but
they're not as good as the other guys. Doesn't matter.
(04:29):
It's a television show. You can get guys no one's
heard of you. In fact, that would be my job.
I would be a great job with He's like, you
tell me the college basketball player, and I'll tell you
if they're okay to be drafted. You know how it
can really upratings. Put a couple of NFL segments in
the middle of the draft. There's a round table on quarterback,
wide receiver duos or running back tandems. Here's the Cleveland Cavaliers,
(04:55):
but before they pick, Hey, could we see a trade
involving Baker Mayfield. Let's go one and then and then
we break that down. I'm surprised it wasn't done tonight.
I'm not gonna lie. Look. Look just to pull back
the curtain and look at the Warriors select. Here's your
top five PPR running back going into next season. Hey,
(05:15):
I'm getting ready to start building boards and firing off
all my information and the I watch your flex podcast
coming back for season three. You and I have some
thoughts on content that we'll be firing off. There's so
much I still want to bring back Jason and might
go to the movies. I don't know how we do
it legally, but we have to do it. But it's
it's the you know, you're flipping around the dial. We're
(05:35):
sitting in traffic right driving from home into these beautiful
Fox Sports radio studios, seeing the team. We got mon C,
we got our executive producer, Justin Frostberg. We obviously have
Alex Tisher and our technical producer and Tab in the
back trying to get everything done. So like we we
we have that. But I'm flipping around and it's a
good fifty minute drive in and look it's an ESPN event.
(05:59):
The low coool affiliate in Los Angeles didn't even preempt
normal programming for the draft. They were talking talking to
some grabass about milky rattlesnakes. Well that's very important, which
I I mean, look, I'm all for it, you know,
and you know, passing out such information and you know
things people will never do for a hundred Alex playing
(06:21):
if I don't know that, you I don't know that
I want to hear advice on how to milk a
rattlesnake from the rain. I'm gonna, I'm gonna that's the thing.
I think it's about a ten second bit and you
move on. But it was more the here's you know,
one of your flagship properties that you spend billions of
dollars to promote and have the air rights to and
for the draft, not even in the ballpark here, we're
(06:43):
talking about all this other stuff. I thought that was
kind of interesting. I just I'm not gonna lie. I
thought I thought it was kind of curious. Uh, not
that the Lakers had a draft pick until well they
traded back in. But when you had Max Christie as
the guy, and that's the that's the thing is that
you hear these names in the draft and they just
get ramped up in importance. And none of these guys
(07:06):
are really ready to contribute right away. Maybe a couple
of them are, But just because your team drafted a guy.
Oh the Lakers got a draft it well, because they
haven't picked in years and they're not gonna have one
for a long time. So they get a guy in
the second round and suddenly it's so exciting. Oh, we
got a guy that may or may not even make
the team, forget about even getting minutes. Maybe make the team. Well,
he's just close to max power. Max power doesn't take
(07:33):
guff from anybody. I'd rather have Max power. Homer is
just sitting there, muscular arms. Was like they're The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Harmon live from the Fox Sports

(07:54):
Learn more at discovered dot com. Slash match limitations they
do apply well. The thing with a draft, look, we
we've talked about it. We talked about some of the
big angles of it, and there's many, many different offshoots
of it that are continuing to come out now. But
over I don't want to say overwhelming, but the overriding
story going into the draft and coming out of it
(08:14):
is still going to be where the stars all wind up.
And with the news today from Adrian Wizarowski that Kyrie
Irving has a wish list of teams that he would
like to play for if he can't, in fact, come
to terms with the Nets, which is what he's hoping
to do, He's got a wish list of teams. They
include the Nicks, the Lakers, which we've heard of, Philadelphia, Dallas, Miami,
(08:37):
and the Clippers, all teams in the top markets. What
a surprise, all the teams and markets, one, two, three,
four or five and says, I can't believe Golden State
wasn't on that list. I want to blame for the Warriors.
So these are all out here. He's got beef. They
don't get along. It doesn't matter how many how many
people you think don't like them already. I mean, it
doesn't matter. You know the guy. It was a joke.
(08:59):
I have no idea whether they like. If you can
if you beef with Steph, that's that's difficult. Anybody maybe
bet you that mini golf bet. Uh. None of this
is real from the perspective of a team's interested in
(09:21):
Kyrie Irving because nobody wants the guy. Nobody's making moves
to try to clear out salary captain room for a
guy that you don't even know if he's going to
show up and play for your team, what nights he's
gonna be there. So that's number one, But number two,
this is simply a list from Kyrie Irving to make
it seem like I have options if the Nets and
I can't come to an agreement that I have, and
(09:43):
there's all these big teams I can go to, because
you know what Kyrie wants. He wants to stay with
the Nets. Why, because he's in New York. They already
let him do whatever the hell he wants to. He
can show up for games. When he shows up for games,
all these things happen, didn't tell him and Joe sigh.
And actually the round table, it's a smaller, you know,
(10:04):
kitchen end table that they're meeting around in the breakfast nook.
But more importantly than that, Kyrie knows okay. Even though
Kyrie has done this to himself, he gets okay, no
one's gonna pay me anymore, or his agents told him, dude,
no one's going to pay you anymore because you're a
loose cannon. You're a wild card and no one can
count on you. The only team that's going to pay him,
because what he wants is to get a longish term
(10:26):
deal another two plus years at forty five fifty million
dollars a year. The only team that's gonna do that
for him is the Nets. Because the Nets gave up
a lot to get him. They still have that little
bit of Kyrie hangover where. I hope that at some
point Kyrie can get it going with KDE and we
can win. We came somewhat close. Two years ago, we
weren't close at all. Maybe we can put it all together.
(10:48):
That's the only team that there's even an inkling of
We can pay Kyrie Irving and he can make a
lot of money. Kyrie knows anywhere else he goes, no
one's gonna pay him a lot of money. No one's
gonna do it. Teams maybe interested in him, but it's
more of a flyer where hey, okay, we're definitely not
gonna We're definitely not going to give you a ton
of money, but we'll bring you in and see if
(11:09):
it works, and then we can go from there. Right,
That's kind of where the reality is for Kyrie Irving.
And he knows this. He knows that nobody else is
going to pay him. This is why he's put out
this list of teams so he can give the Nets
the image that he has options. So the Nets will
get scared, or he will force them into a decision
they have to make, and they will decide because it's
right up against it. We will sign Kyrie, all right,
(11:31):
We'll give him two more years and million dollars whatever
the money is going to be. That's the only reason
this is out there these teams that are there for
they're not even real, not even real. This is just
Kyrie Irving trying to show he's got leverage when he doesn't. Well,
they're all teams that are front runners or with juice. Right,
So that's that's what we're talking about. I mean, good
theater for a couple of them. Right, when you talk
(11:52):
about adding the six or something, ponder that for a
moment when you talk about the Lakers. Look, we talked
about the Lakers a ton and they were useless as
a team night tonight in the NBA this year, right,
they were terrible, terrible watch most nights, but they still
moved the needle all the wishing, wanting and hoping just
to see if it would coalesce for one run, something
(12:14):
crazy to happen, which you didn't. But you know what
I would say if I'm the Nets, you know, and
whether you do it publicly or probably, yeah, go find
go find one of these teams. Go go find a trade,
go find a partner and bring it back to us
and let's see what that would look like. And the
answer is you're not finding one. And for the Nets,
and and just to to tag it, you know, I
(12:34):
heard Rick Bucker talking about it a little bit earlier,
was on FS one, and he'll join us tomorrow and
we'll talk and and shake this out a little bit further.
But he called out Kevin Durant. I agree, and it's
something you and I have talked about a bunch of
you know, what are you doing? Right? Are you? If
you're the leader, then you should be like, all right,
are you int? You're out? Like to pull the whole
Danny Ocean thing when he grabbed Matt Damon at Emmetts
(12:55):
By the way, Emmet's Bar in Chicago was closing. I'm
very sad about that. It was a gathering place after
you know, a couple of you know, family uh, gatherings,
you know, to celebrate lives lost. So you know that
it's closing. I'm going to Chicago in a couple of weeks.
I guarantee you I'll have a couple of pints there.
But the idea of being hey, he slides in and says,
you want in on this job or not? And that's
what Kevin Durant's gotta do, Like all right, Kyrie, are
(13:17):
you with us or no? Right? We we need you
for eighty two ish it's really what what are we
talking seventy two? Like if we could get that we're
good in terms of games played, but yeah, we need
you to commit that you want to be here instead
of all this nonsense, because right now, that's all it
is a bunch of Hey, let's throw it up. I mean,
this is worse than the Baker Mayfield stuff. That's where
(13:39):
we're at. We're on par right. There's more of a
market for Baker Mayfield and there is for Kyrie Irvingtules.
That Rule already has the sort of damocles. We talked
about that as an option when you're gonna release a player,
send him to the minors, like we talked about with
the Angels. Go find the podcast wherever you get your audio.
But the sort of damocles is there for Matt Rule?
(14:00):
Does he want in on that? And Pete Carroll says
he's just fine, Twitter and out about a fresca. Mike

So I can't tell you how good it is. Yeah,
(15:04):
I'm finishing a rewatch of Arrested Development and I've added
the Boys, even though I know there's gonna be controversy.
I mean, big story today about and our superhero group
activity coming up in a future episode. Yeah, the kids,
it is not. It is not for the faint amount.
This is not a superhero show for kids. No, evidently
(15:24):
there's an episode coming that's really going to take things
to the next level. But since we're on, Soldier Boy
could kill Land and that ain't nothing you can do
about it. That's he just says nothing. That's good, that's Bill, Butcher,
ain't nothing you can do about Soldier Boy. Soldier Boy
walking around my house. Let's go. Yeah, eventually, um, you're
(15:46):
gonna get committed. You don't like to see even though
you haven't seen him yet, Go on YouTube and watch
Jensen Accles as Soldier Boy singing Blondie's Rapture from Solid
Gold in Trust Me It's It's that's next level stuff.
Would be remiss. We get into a very brief, hey
what are we watching kind of thing and bring in superheroes.
I'd be remiss on this date. In Batman, that is
(16:10):
right the cinematic universe, Tim Burton's Batman premiered. Why did
I say? You don't know? But now? Would that have
been a better soundtrack than Princes eight seven seven? No,
I'm just kidding. Vicky Vale Vicky vl I always thought
it was great. Oh yeah, oh yeah, Vicky Vale, Oh yeah,
(16:33):
Vicky Vale, Oh yeah, who yeah, I want bat Man.
I remember that video when they'd run it and you'd
try to find right and what what was the rotation
and how fast it was gonna be on again? Great?
Oh I got alive one here the Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Carment. Alright, so let's go
(16:55):
so so so yep so so uh with what went
on in the NBA tonight. Let's go back to something
that revolved around the first overall pick of the draft,
because this is really interesting because you don't see stuff
like this happening hardly at all. Adrian Wojanowski, who is
(17:18):
the end all be all to NBA inside Champs Trani,
also really really good. But Woaj as well. Did you
know there's woad bombs all the time. Early in the day,
Woach put out, this is the draft order one too,
three is set in stone. Jabari Smith is going number
one overall, Check is going number two, Bancaro's going number three.
(17:40):
It was set in stone. This was the order, and
everybody reacted along that line for the entire day. That's
what he's always gonna happen. It reminds me of certain procedurals,
you know, national events of government that I kept telling
you on air at one point going follow the batting
(18:00):
line that he Gladger telling you what's gonna happen. The
same thing here. Woades didn't follow the batting line, so wolades.
But this is the wo has it right, because there's
nobody better than Woa ight, Woch has it, Wolch has it,
wos had uh. Then the NBA draft started, and it
started like this. In the two thousand two NBA draft,
(18:22):
the Orlando Magic select Calo Ben Carrol. I gotta say
I kind of dug that now. Now was he excited
for him? He was? He surprised to the name, that
was he believed what woa put out and the first pick.
This isn't what woad said. Are we sure this is right?
(18:43):
Are we sure I got Bunk Carroll's name on? You think?
Would his battery died on his phone and he couldn't
have cell reception? Did he get the update? I've been
watching the bottom line all day. Did not see this
in the update? Are we sure we got the right?
Is this one of those Academy Award things where we
have the wrong name on it, because I don't want
to get the name wrong. I know, I don't know.
(19:04):
Adam Silver strikes me. His excitement is I can't believe
I'm the commissioner. I get to stand on stage and
actually say things and people listen. That's kind of Adam
Silver Park. I'm surprised he hasn't walked out with a
king George Own. Fits like he's out of Hamilton's I'm
the king here and you will listen to what I say.
So WOA gets it wrong now. He did put out
(19:26):
a tweet right before the draft saying hey, Boncaro's in
the mix now. But it was all day this, this
is how it was big reported in the mix. Now
you got scooped and anyway beating. It's like, well, if
I put out the tweet before his name is actually announced, okay,
right wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait
sorry I may have screwed this up. Um, So just
think about this for a second. Woad getting something wrong alright,
(19:50):
because we see inside how often do you see guys
like woj, Jay Glazer and Adam Well Schefter has happened
a couple of times, but most guys, a lot of
the guys in the NFL, and they've had they've had
their issue exactly. Now, think about think about this for
a second. What we do for a living. You and
I right, We give opinions, we entertain. I like being
right about stuff, and we're right about stuff more than
(20:12):
we are being wrong about stuff. But if I'm wrong
about Jayson Tatum, and again I feel shamed for telling
you all about how great, I'm sorry. It's that's my fault.
It's my fault. Uh. If I'm wrong about the NBA, Okay,
I'm wrong about the NBA finals, right, it doesn't matter, right,
because look, I like being right. But when we're analyzing things,
we're given our our best our best guesses are yeah,
(20:33):
our best informed opinions about what happens. Right. If we're wrong,
we're wrong, Okay, shake it off and go back because
our job is too again it's entertained and give our
opinions and that's it. But insiders, you have to be
right all the time. There is not a there is
not any sort of room for being wrong because if
(20:54):
you're wrong a couple of times, guess what people are
gonna listen to you anymore? You're not an insider anymore, right,
Stephen A. Smith, back before he was the you know,
the face of ESPN, when he was a basketball insider,
he was wrong about a lot of things, right, so
much so that when the decision came around and Lebron
(21:14):
was gonna decide where he was going, Stephen A. Smith
had the story for a couple of weeks. He had
he I got this, He's going to Miami, and he
told people ESPN, I'm telling you I got this. He's
going to the Heat. He's going to the Heat. But
it was never treated that way because he had been
wrong about stuff and ESPN didn't feel confident going with that. Hey,
Stephen A. Smith reports the Miami Heat are are are
(21:36):
going to get Lebron James. It was never reported that
way anytime Adam Schefter says something now or or Jake Glazer,
Jay Glazer reports that the Sean Payton is retiring. Guess
what we're on, Hey, Sean Payton's retiring. He's probably having
a drink with him. That will not be Bruce arians.
But but when he when Peyton, you know, guys, when
(21:57):
Jay reports something, Uh, when Jay reports something, you go
on it as it's the law, and you react that
way when you're wrong. That hurts you so many ways.
I mean, look at Schefter. Now, he's been wrong a
couple of times. He's had a couple of questionable tweets. Uh,
in the course of the past few months, he's had
to apologize. And now, Adam Schefter, even though he's broken
(22:19):
so much news, you are only as good as your
last news item, and and woes. Who's got to be
Steamon mad right now? Because the only thing that saving
woes about this is that there was no star power
at the top of the draft. If this was, hey,
Zion could go number one or John Morant could go
number one if there was, if it was a star
studded top of the draft, let's say that's what it was.
(22:42):
And all day long he had John Morants going one. R. J.
Barrett's going to and Zion's going three. That's gonna be
the order. It's going Jaw and Zion and everybody's reacting them.
And then the draft comes and something, oh no, wait no,
they taking Zion number one and he's wrong about that.
Good luck, man, that's a big deal to get that wrong.
And suddenly your reputation takes a huge hit. It's a
(23:02):
lot of pressure to be an inside. I could never
do it because number one, you have to you have
to live by your phone, you have to be be
available all the time. But more importantly, if you are
wrong once, you don't know what that could do to
your reputation. And like I said, the only thing saving
Woes now is that this was kind of a buzzlest
draft for players, because this wasn't a lot of players
(23:24):
that people knew about. It wasn't a lot of players
that that that everybody had a lot of passion about,
you know, certain certain certain teams. Hey, we like a
couple of players, and if you're a fan, you're hoping
you're gonna get this player because it seems to fit
in with what your team wants to do. And there's
all that, but the overwhelming excitement of do we could
get Zion, Do we could get that wasn't there? And
if that was there and the mistake is made, oh
(23:46):
look out, you're you're talking about when somebody gonna trust
Woes again. So that's the only thing that saving him
here is that. Okay, yes, all right, Jabari Smith and
Bunk Arrow and chet Okay, yes you didn't have it
all right, but still a big to get that wrong,
to get the number one picking the draft rock when
you had it well. And that's the thing, right, is
that Smith was the number one until he wasn't right.
(24:08):
It was twenty four hours ago that all of a
sudden things started swirling, the odds in Vegas started to move,
and you're starting to try to figure out, all right,
where's the perfect information coming. Is it a hunch? You know?
Is it still fifty fifty? And if it was, then
Woes flipped his coin and came up on the wrong side.
Just to clean up with Stephen A. Smith became the
(24:28):
ESPN insider. He did the decision here at Fox Sports
Radio and was doing that as part of his morning show,
and nobody bought it. And at the end of the
year went into becoming an insider and then rejoined ESPN.
But they wouldn't run with it because well, one he
was with us, but two, as you said, he'd gotten
(24:49):
a few things where he I guarantees and whatever else
that hadn't worked out. That's tough, man, that's really tough.
It's it's that life is so hard and and to
to know that you could just get a bad phone
call because and it may not be. It's not your fault.
It's just, hey, we're going with we're going with Jabari
Smith at number one. Okay, great, and then it's, oh,
(25:11):
you know what we decided against it? Wait? Wait what
you did? Yeah? Sorry, I gave that to you. But
that's right, the information that you get, and maybe it changes,
but your insider doesn't get back to you and you
try to double check, triple check. All right, and we're
closer to the draft. Is this still good? Are we going?
I mean, even just in a microcosm, go back to
our interview with Dan Wicky last hour, right when we're
(25:31):
talking with him and his phone starts blipping blip blip blipping.
I mean, that's a microcosm of it, because and that's
just guys that were signing two way deals. Those were
guys that are undrafted free agents that were coming on
board with the Lakers. And I'm sure he was getting
stuff about what the Clippers might be doing, as well
as other teams around the league, right insider for the
(25:52):
l a times. So but you heard it, what at
least four times his phone chimed, like imagine if your
job is just in Eider woes shams pick all any
guy from the NFL, I'd be throwing. I hate my
phone now and it doesn't go any often nearly that much. Now.
I also don't get that extra you know, zero at
(26:13):
the end of my my paycheck right where I think
I'll like my phone a lot more if you multiply
by salary by ten. But in the interim, you know,
like like I said with Woiki, is like, oh, there's
another one, and another one, another one, go on, another
one along the way. But it's just that that curiosity
(26:34):
of that life. Yeah, no thanks, You get one or
two wrong, and all of a sudden, the reputation and
around the players, because that's what you're building up the
cache with. Right. Front office guys are all fine and good,
but you eventually need the players to be in good
with them otherwise it all falls apart. Be sure to
catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike
harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven pm Pacific. Hey,
(26:59):

and all the interesting interactions along the way we talked

You download it, you listen to it. I think you
like it. Listen to All Ball with Doug Gotlieb on
(27:21):
the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast orherever you get
your podcast. Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Harmon Live Hey Now Live from
the Fox Sports Radio studios. Uh So, all night, Frostburg
(27:42):
has been sitting around saying, oh, Nicks, Kyrie, Kyrie Nicks,
Kyrie Nicks, trying to provoke and at work scuffle for
lack of a better term, but a guy I follow
on Twitter, Sam Quinn, who is an NBA reporter for
CBS quote tweeted this story that involves Kyrie Irving and
(28:08):
the Lakers, in which, according to WOJ, who was on
Sports Center, that if the Lakers leave the Nets, the
Lakers could be his destination potentially for the mid level exception.
I told you, guys, I told you, I told you
(28:31):
Kyrie to the Lakers. It's the one place that could happen,
So one place where I would say, why not, you're
gonna stink anyway? Why well, we're trying to corroborate an
autio slash video file of that, and there was a
bunch of b roll of Kyrie drives and whatever, and
at a voice like I I'm not gonna pretend that
I know it wos his voice. I know his Twitter voice,
(28:54):
and I think if it's kind of funny, like you
know the one you got you do from the boys.
So that's how I kind of hear woes Kyrie to
go out to the likes and ain't nothing you can
do about it, because the beauty of it when it
comes down to this rumor is we know one thing
about Kyrie Irving. He is unpredictable, all right, So when
(29:16):
anybody says why would he leave that kind of money,
it's like, really, last last year he walked away from
what seventeen million, eighteen million dollars, right, not only whatever
it did for team structure, whatever, but literally seventeen eighteen
million dollars by refusing to get inoculated. And that's his decision.
Judge it as you will on your own time. Now
(29:38):
we're just talking brass tacks and facts about being on
a court. That was what he believed in. He took
other days off for personal reasons, et cetera. Go through
all that, and as a team you have to decide
whether you're on board. But for someone to say, well,
there's no way he would leave that much money on
the table. Again, he left seventeen million dollars on the
table doesn't mean mean that at this stage. Is because
(30:01):
he's made a lot of money, right, Obviously there's questions
about whether his shoe deal goes forward or he gets
a shoe deal from somebody else. But he's already banked
millions upon millions of dollars from that, plus a pretty
hefty salary for a long time in the NBA. So
saying hey, he goes to the Lakers for six point
two or whatever it would be, that wouldn't be completely
(30:21):
a shocked anybody. I don't think we'll look because nobody
else is gonna pay him. Right, we knew nobody else
is gonna pay him. Now. This is Remember WOA had
this earlier and as we talked about who didn't get
the first pick in the drive, I think also lapped
him in the first round pick announcement kind of things
woes did say. Adrian Wozarowski, ESPN Insider said that, you know,
earlier in the day, hey, the Lakers were one of
(30:42):
his preferred destinations. You know, he had a wish list
of teams was the Lakers and the Knicks and some
other teams are on there. So we're waiting to see
just how, you know, how accurate this latest story of Hey,
Kyrie could be a Laker for the mid levels or
four some kind of deal. Why is it fake news? Frostburg?
Because he's not going to the Lakers. Why why was it?
(31:05):
Because I don't want him? I don't want to do Hey,
you know, we got two more college players that everybody's
heard of that signed two way deals, both with the
Utah Jazz. Where did Jimmy Beheim go that I don't know?
Confirmed him? First? Kofe Coburn of your fighting a line? Okay? Second, okay,
(31:26):
a local kid does good. Johnny Jusang, Wow, Johnny Jusang
he went to Utah. Jimmy got both those guys. That's
I mean, the end of the draft is so much
better because the two way guys that wind up going
people you've heard of the other guys like I don't
know who this is, I don't know where this is? Yeah,
I don't know. Well, I mean you try and I
(31:49):
laugh as I'm scrolling and now see uh. Doug Gottlieb
has responding to Cofie Coberg News saying, hey, he's gonna
take a pay cart like true and I l deals.
Baby guys have to profit those for a year anyway.
So there'll be much more on the continuing evolving story
involving Kyrie Irving and how accurate reports of what Kyrie
(32:10):
wants to do are. But you know, look, he's been
linked to the Lakers, he's been linked to the Knicks,
been linked to other teams. It's just it was just
fun because all night Frostberg has been telling me, I
just you have the first pick wrong. I'm gonna trust
it is hard. I mean, you're you're you're trying to
climb a big hill after getting that first one wrong. Yeah, well,
and I look at it. Look, he did say Jimmy
(32:32):
Beheim would be the first overall pick. I thought it
would be Jimmy Bayham. Then he said no, it's buddy, babe,
really really pushed hard. You know it didn't happen. Well,
you know what again, you know you want to create
controversy and get tongues wagon. I mean, I think you
get some wrong in your woach. Everybody expects you to
get him all right, so get one wrong. Oh look
he's human Twitter and out about a fresca. Mike has swollen.
