Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon, who is
off tonight. Steve de Sager is in right now. I
I can't say I think Harmon is out fully inebriated,
but he's probably getting there. Why I think he's got

(00:44):
I think he's gonna be getting there. Well, he's on vacation.
He just spent a bunch of time in Chicago with
his family. Now he's back home. I think. Now, you know,
you go, you get the post family stuff now. Usually
you need a day to have a vacation from your vacation.
You know, Harmon likes to keep moving. He likes to
keep moving. He's like my dad. He's like my dad.

(01:05):
He likes to keep moving. He hasn't been moving much. Actually, Yeah,
he's Harmon's right now, got to either be out at
some kind of show, some kind of music show. No,
I don't think he's gonna play. He goes to musicals,
he does, but but he takes it. He just takes
his daughters to musicals like he This is like, this

(01:25):
is like Harmon's like vacation. This is yeah, this is like, hey, hey,
everybody stand back at a sports bar whooping it up
because the white Socks lead twelve to in the nine pinnings,
and and everybody and nobody in the bar is more
than ten feet close him because he's going, yeah, even
about to move over there, I tell you about the

(01:46):
white sox. Ever, he talks about the stinking cubs and
they suck, and he's he's got like a he's got
a big birth of people who are like ten feet
away going. You want to know a card collection I have.
I got the biggest card collection in the world. I
had to Tim Anderson Rookie card and look outspan out.
I got a card collection. I can look. I can
buy this bar right now. I'm not gonna, but I could.

(02:09):
I got a cal Ripken eighty three, Pristine Contention, Pristine Contention,
I had the Josean pray you Cuban baseball card. What
do you got now? I have gascons, John Elwaye rookie card.
I can buy this town with it. I still haven't
given it to him. I still haven't at all. Just watch.

(02:31):
Oh yeah, that's Harmon right now at the bar. You know,
I got one. Here's one. Look at this and he
puts Sanda's pocket. He goes, WHOA, what's going on? No? Here,
it is right here. Here's my rhyme. Sandberg, don runs Rookie.
She said, I say, I can still appreciate the Cubs.
I can still do it. Diamond King's I got three
of them. You watched later tonight it'll be five minutes
to last call five okay, time enough to open up

(02:53):
a pack. I got a done right here. I got
a sound of Harmon at a bar. You want to
hear it? You did? Oh yeah, let's let's hear it.
Let's he likes karaoke? Night? He does like karaoke? Is
he back Monday? He does? Uh? Well, right now? I
mean maybe I don't know. There's still Steve. There's still

(03:16):
a long time between now and Monday. Still a long time.
A lot of beers out there. Okay, So I guess
there's a lot of time, a lot of time for
that to happen. So we love Michael Hart of course.
Of course, So if and he's not here and we
can call him Michael, I guess, uh just did Yeah, yeah,
you just did that. You wouldn't do that to his
face though, apologize. It just gives an accident. We can

(03:41):
talk about how complicated other banks make it to redeem
credit card rewards, or we can talk about how we
discover you can redeem your rewards for cash and any
amount at any time. I mean, talk about amazing learn
more at discovered dot com slash redeem rewards. That's discovered
dot com slash redeem rewards terms do apply. Okay. So
this happened while I was gone to and now there's

(04:01):
a big development on this today. Akra Shore Acre Shore
Are Ashore Acre Shore Stadium, Pittsburgh akrashre Stadium. Right, that's
what it's gonna be, Akrisht Stadium taking over for Hinesfield.
No matter how much you're saying, we're probably stuck with it.
But that's it, right, That's how because there's been many

(04:23):
people saying it many I've heard acres shure, it's acro shot.
It's more like, are you sure? That's a common response
to this whole story this week. A acrick shure sounds
like a commercial. Hi, I'm Jason Smith. Do you have
find yourself being dehydrated or just needing more energy than
try akershure with every one of your meals, I thought

(04:43):
you were gonna be selling insurance. Honestly, just it could
be anything. Just ten ounces of acro short every forty
five minutes and you will feel vitality that you've never
felt before. That's why I like to begin every meal
and then have another glass in the middle of glass
at the end, then one for a snack, then after
a nap, I'll have another one a sure, and then

(05:04):
it ends with me just taking the big chug at
like they show you drinking. You sound like one of
those Saturday Night Live fake commercials like John Belushi for
you know, old bag of doughnuts. This is what Mike
gets my Olympic career kick started, or within a time
with a pour out a bowl of cereal and it's
just nothing but rocks and boulders, that kind of thing.

(05:25):
It may as well be. None of us have heard
of this company. But you're right, how can it be
stuck with it? Right? And right? And well, I don't know,
because this is the story today that there is a
big petition going around to remove acer Sure Stadium as
the name, removing whatever Acre Shure is. Whatever they sell. Hi,

(05:46):
I'm Jason Smith for Acre. Whatever they sell, they don't
want to buy it. May want the field to be
known as Hines Field. Go back to what it is.
And uh, Accroshre Stadium is really not taking off. Surprise, surprise,
it's not taking off. It's not a sexy name with
the lead balloon taking out. It's an insurance come, it's
not a sexy name. Just for the record, for all
the history there is with the Hines Company in Pittsburgh.

(06:10):
They phased out the whole catch up thing in Pittsburgh
and I think it was to Chicago. They have moved.
This has already happened. They got an extension recently for
the naming rights past the twenty years. That's why it
was still Hines Field last year. But you can't say, oh,
what about our city history. They moved on you and
the contract is out. So somebody knew is coming in
with the name. I'm sorry, Hines is out now, hunts

(06:33):
Ketchup is in its hunts Field. We run from Hines
to hunts hunts Ketchup. Uh No. But look, that's the
first thing about stories like this, Like look, because we
had the crypto dot com even, how long is that
gonna last? Right now they're putting, they're getting We still
got the Staples letters to go back on, right, we
still got that, right, how long is that gonna last?
But this is number one. This is who has the

(06:55):
money now to make these hundred and fifty million dollar agreements.
It's not the fun company. It's not Staples, it's not
shop right, it's not US Steel stadium that's what we
need in Pittsburgh's football stadium. It's crypto companies and insurance
and hedge funders. I mean, these there's not gonna be
the big, fun, sexy names, and it's gonna be all

(07:15):
really really bored. And there's nothing more boring than aker
shore as. When you're sure that could be anything, that's well,
I think that's the actual shore deodorant. I think that's
when you're sure it's that's something big companies based not
Hines anymore, but based in Pittsburgh. There are others to
choose from ones that you know, people have heard of.

(07:37):
I know they already are sponsoring some places in Pittsburgh.
But like there's a sporting goods company that already sponsors
other places. Why can't you, you know, just be in
line here for the Steelers. There's nothing bigger in Pittsburgh
than the Steelers, their stadium, Frostburg. What do you got, Well,
there is one thing bigger, Permanti brother Sandwich. Oh yeah,

(08:00):
but do you have to have like a hundred and
fifty Monty You ever have one of those bad boys? Yes? Unless, yes,
a long time ago. I did. Yeah, and that in
the big oh when they put onion rings in the
in the in the big restaurant outside the campus and Pitta,
Oh my god. There would be zero petition for that. Yeah.

(08:21):
Oh no, No, people have said, yes, yes, let's have it,
let's just have it, let's just let let let's do it.
Do you remember when there were all the NFL commercials,
those one minute commercials of here's your Alca fantastic finish
and they would show some great you know, Dan Marino
comeback from NFL Films or something like that. Did that happen. Yes,

(08:42):
that did happen. Actually I still remember the music. Don
dot dot dot done? And now ALCA can't waits presents.
That company I've just read is based in Pittsburgh. How
are they? Of all things, they've had an NFL tie,
they've had, you know, talk about the greatest co A moment.
Probably it's gotta be the Frank o'harris playoff, of course.

(09:04):
How how does this not happen? Al Coha, what's your
valuation to our company is worth thirteen million dollars? What
about you? Acre? Sure we are worth forty five billion dollars?
This is not a drop in the Look, we're gonna
miss those names. And I understand the backlash. Look, I'm
I'm upset. Look, the Carrier Dome is not going to
be the Carrier Dome anymore. And I'm still just gonna

(09:26):
call the dome. And people are saying, I'm gonna call
it this, I'm gonna call I don't want to call it.
But before you rip anybody on this, alright, just I
understand the money here, Okay, I'm gonna give you an
analogy where you're gonna say, okay, I can't blame the
Steelers for taking the check from Acre. Sure, even though
it sounds horrendous and people are still gonna call it Hinesfield. Right,
let's just say this is Steve. You're married. By the way,

(09:49):
we still call it the former Staples Center. Okay, the
former's alright, very good. What's your wife's first name? Son Sonya? Okay?
Right now you've known your stadium they no, no, no,
I don't have the money, but I would be in faith. Wow,
Sonya Sager kind of runs right, and that rolls off
the tongue right there. Yeah, she could be on the
Sonya the singer with what's trending? Did you so? You

(10:11):
you met her Sonya? Right, and you've called her sow
long you've been married, that's right. Oh that's going last
name change okay, okay, last name j That was fine, right, Okay,
I like I like nas Sonia to say you're Okay,
Let's say someone came up to you and said, you know, Steve,
we really like your wife, Like, we think we can
make a lot of money with her being the front

(10:33):
for our company doing things and she could work. It
would be great. Okay, yeah, great, great, great, But we
wanted to change her name and instead of Sonya. Her
name is gonna be Helen, and you have to call
her Helen instead of Sonya. Why would I do that?
I don't want to do that. But here's the thing.
We're gonna give you a hundred and fifty million dollars
for the next seven years. Where sign you call your

(10:56):
new You call your wife Sonya? Now you call her Helen.
He you're white? She right now, you've already just changed
your name. Now anybody would exactly. I've been called Pam.
You know Pam. My wife is Pam, pam cakes Patty. No, Hey,
what do I what I have to call you? You
have to call her Dolores? Okay, Dolores. Guess what we're
going on vacation. Look at this money we just got.

(11:16):
D I would have all the nicknames already. Hey, do
you know why Helen slash Delores? Because these are vacations
we never could have afforded before. Row with it. You
can change You can change my name, Jason. Hey, we
likely you do on the radio. Great, we can make
a lot of money with you. What do I gotta do?
You just gotta change your name. Okay, what is my
first name? Have to be? We want your name to
be knucklehead Okay, okay, knucklehead Smith. Yeah, I can make

(11:42):
that work. I'm a radio dude, Okay, I could do that.
I wanted people to wonder too, so I could be
knucklehead Smith. You are gonna give a hunter fifty million
dollars next seven years. I'll be knucklehead Smith. You can
call me k Smith. You can call me, you can
call me nuck. You can go whatever you want. You
can call me k head. You go whatever you want. Hey,
what's up? Okay, how about what's up? Call me that too.

(12:02):
I don't got walker. I'll carry that check. Anybody would do.
I would. People would change their own names if you
were getting some kind of check from somebody, You're for
a decent amount of money. Now you could get it
down to me, like Jason, would you change your name
if you got like free McDonald's for the rest of
your life? I would go, what's the limit? How much
can I really go? Like? Like? Can I go? Like
twice a day, twice a week? Like? Yeah? Saying yesterday

(12:25):
deal would also be hastening your own demise with the
diet at all. It depends what if I got a salad?
Salads anymore? What if I just had a breakfast burrito?
What if I just had that? It doesn't know it's
eggs and cheese and and and it's fine. Of course
they are. They're real eggs. Tight tight sh what do

(12:45):
you t You really think you're gonna outlive me? Yes?
Are you kidding? I'm going to outlive you? Know how?
You're not? Dude? You are? You are twenty? How old
are you now? Thirty? Okay, you are twenty years younger
than me. And I will already tell you this of
what I known you from the last six Yes, your
last words are going to be hey, guys, watch this.
I wish that's how I know I'm going to outlive you.

(13:08):
Jason in forty years from now, when we're at your funeral,
I'm gonna sit there. And he was like, you look
better than you did when you were I'm trying to
be nice. You look the same. Yeah, I'm still eating Keene,
still doing great stuff, fruit and veggies. Okay, don't be disingenell,
I'm Steve. Remember, Hey, guys, watch this. I'm telling you Jason.

(13:31):
Steve's on my side on this one. Is that the accurate?
What is the name again, that's the right. Were still
it's been going on all week. We still don't know
the day. I was wondering if that's their little tagline
that we're going to see in the commercials. We'll never
know the name because nobody's ever going to call it that.
There's your acquisher one liner of the day, brought to

(13:52):
you by Fox Sports Radio. Like Steelers Stadium, there's got
to be I mean that's alliterated, even City Steel City Stadium,
it's still gonna be hot. I want a sandwich. Yeah,
see sandwich is you as steel Stadium? That just fits
almost that's too good to be true. Really, they don't
have the money, but companies like Acroshure have nothing but
money you're gonna get. Hey, we're gonna put our name on.

(14:13):
It's gonna work. Be sure to catch live editions of

A big day in the NBA. We got another day
of hey, when are we gonna get done? In the
mitchell to the Nix and when's it gonna happen? And
DeAndre Ayton, who was the big domino allegedly that was

(14:59):
go to fall in any trade that would bring Kevin
Durant to the Phoenix Suns now cannot be traded, as
the offer sheet he signed with the Indiana Pacers earlier
in the day has been matched very quickly by the Suns.
So now getting Kevin Durant and that's his number one destination,
The Sons are number one and the Mammy Heater number two.

(15:22):
Now that makes it really really difficult because that you know,
the Suns were hoping, Hey, if we're gonna get k
D eight AND's a guy, he's unhappy, He's be worth
a lot of money. All this stuff is gonna happen.
Now that just got really really difficult. And now you're
at the point where the era of the Suns may
never even get off the ground, right we we we thought, hey,

(15:45):
look at the Suns. They've arrived. Look how good they are.
Look they make it to the NBA Finals two years ago.
They don't have enough. Chris Paul falls apart in the
last couple of games because he played too much basketball. Finally,
and they lose best record in the NBA this year
and they don't even make it to the confer Its finals.
And now with the same team, if this is the
same team coming back, are they really going to be better?

(16:07):
Everybody gets better, everybody makes moves and improves. And now
just because the Suns are coming back, Yeah, they have
three talented guys at the top with Paul and Booker
and eight and have a couple of nice young pieces
as well. But they had great regular season success and
then they couldn't do anything in the playoffs. And it
was shocking how they were brought down. And I thought
Devin Booker was going to be the of his breakthrough

(16:28):
time now in the NBA, and instead it's what happens
to the Suns. The error, the error may never even
get off the ground. Steve, Now, what if they get
off to a so so start. I mean, they've had
obviously great starts recently, as you referenced. But then it
gets to mid January where they could actually finally trade
Etan as he starts this new four year deal. Does

(16:51):
that happen? And that's not trading him does not mean
you're starting over by any stretch. You still have as
good as Eton has been in some games, you still
have the guy who's the score over him. What happens
if they don't start in phenomenal fashion like they have
the last couple of years. There's still that chip out
there even after the signing today, Yeah, okay, we'll match

(17:11):
it and keep him. Our big three are intact. He
can be moved in mid January. This is not an absolute.
He's staying here for four years. No, But he was
a guy that wasn't really happy, and now you got him,
and now you gave him money. He thought they would
give him a contract last year when he was eligible,
and and and now you got him, and now you
have to figure out how to go forward. I mean, look,

(17:32):
there was no real option for the Suns because they
want to keep him as an asset. But how do
they go Forward now joining us now on the hotline
to break it all down Fox Sports one NBA Insider Extraordinary.
You can follow him on Twitter at Rick Buker. That
is at Rick Buker, Rick. What's happening? Man? Oh? Nick? Ho? Hey?

(17:54):
Oh hey? Well we can start with Donovan Mitchell and
saved DeAndre Ayton. When's this happening? Rick? When when am
I gonna wake up and see Mitchell to Nicks and
see him holding up the jersey and I'll getting excited?
What Tomorrow? Friday, Saturday? So when's the guy? When's it happening?
I can't possibly tell you that I do believe that
they have the best angle on it, because they're gonna

(18:17):
do much like they did the Carmelo Anthony deal, where
it's basically, uh, what do you what do you want?
Jim Dolan's gonna walk in and he's gonna say what
do I need? Especially with Brooklyn nets possibly having interest
in Donovan Mitchell, you know that Jim Dolan is gonna
do everything he can to make sure that they end

(18:37):
up not getting him, that he gets the guy. But
much like the Carmelo Anthony thing, I'm not sure where
it's going to leave leave you other than I believe
that they are going to change their name from the
New York Knickerbockers to the New York Lilliputians because they
will have to six one guards combo guards that are

(19:01):
um taking up million dollars of your calf space. So um,
either that or maybe the key ler else. I'm not sure. No, Listen,
gonna come down to what the marketing people said. Wait,
but you didn't get you didn't get the breaking news.
It just came in. I'm sorry, I gotta get you this.
This The hoops are going down to eight feet for
next year. I don't know if you know that I did. Well,

(19:26):
there you go, you know. But the Knicks always have
a plan. They did. They're just always seeing around the
corner there ahead of everybody else. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Look,
I feel like seriously about this trade, just like Kyrie
irving to the Lakers feels like a fat accompany. It's
going to happen. We're just wait up for the final particulars.
I feel the same way about this. Donovan Mitchell wants

(19:46):
the nixt Stars get what they want. The Knicks have
the package to give this jazz back what they want.
With the combination of picks and young players. I feel
the same way, like this is happening. We just have
to find out exactly what the Knicks are going to
send back to the Jazz. But Donovan Mitchell is going
to be a Nick sure now here. But here's the question, um,
in all seriousness, and look, uh, Leon Rose and the

(20:09):
front office there has promised Jim Dolan that they are
going to land the Star. So there there is motivation
not just on Donovan wanting to go to New York,
but uh, there front office jobs that are hanging on
acquiring a player such as Donovan Mitchell. So um, and
with Carl Anthony Town's out of the picture for at

(20:31):
least a year, they've got to do something now rather
than later. That all that said, does it matter to
you at all what you are giving up for Donovan
Mitchell If you're giving up and and it's not Julius Randall,
if it's Evan Fournier and it's R. J. Barrett and
Cam Reddish, Like, at what point do you say, Okay,

(20:53):
wait a minute, are we really getting better if we
had Donovan Mitchell? Because I don't know that Donovan Mitchell
is the kind of star that puts you over the top.
I don't want I don't want to trade back, but
I can trade anybody but Barrett. Because he's a six
six wing that feels like he's on the brandon Ingram
path of being an All Star in the next couple
of years. I kind of like Bart's the guy would

(21:15):
be like, Okay, yeah, that would be a tough one
for me. Okay, all right, because I just it's I
am concerned that the fever to get Donovan Mitchell is
going to cause the Knicks to overpay for him and
and they can't afford that. But I know this word
is not often used with the Knicks, but they need

(21:37):
to be shrewd here to be able to take a
step forward to acquire donovol and and uh and still
retain a team that uh that they can take advantage
of adding Donovan Mitchell two. So essentially what it comes down, Okay, Rick,
this is Steve. I'm going to ask about the actual
NBA news of it. Wow, something that's actually happens. You know,

(21:59):
the Sun's had two days to match the offer sheet
that DeAndre Ayton signed with the Pacers, and it took
them about two minutes. So how does this complicate Kevin
Durant's future And does this mean that DeAndre Ayton is
actually staying for the four years. Yeah, he can't be
traded right away. It doesn't mean he can never be
traded right yes. Well, so here's the question is, and

(22:21):
I haven't seen the details. I saw some of the
details come out about him not being like having veto power.
Did they match the terms of the deal that in
the Indiana Pacers put on the table, like, because if
they if they wrote a certain offer sheet and it
has like a no trade clause, I mean what I

(22:41):
guess have to Yeah, they treated they well, they tried
to create a poison pill. They tried to create a
contract that the Suns would go on. It's too much.
We can't like the money, and he doesn't have a
trade you know, no trade and like put it put
essentially a poison pill type clause in there. Um. But
they look, honestly, I don't know that they had a choice.

(23:02):
They painted themselves into a corner by not negotiating this
last last summer and so losing him for nothing would
end essentially any thought that the Sons are going to
play for a title right now without DeAndre Ayton, they're

(23:23):
not playing for a title and uh, and they've got
their loaded on Devin Booker, they're loaded on Chris Paul.
So now you're paying, You're still you still have a
rather expensive team. And yet you look at it and go,
we're not we're not good enough to win a title.
If you're gonna pay, I mean, it becomes, you know,
kind of crazy. But if you got to pay an

(23:45):
extra million and I'm just throwing a number out there,
an extra fifty million in luxury tax, uh, and still
be a title contender versus Okay, you say fifty million,
but you have no hope of winning a title. Um,
it's a tough choice, but I know the direction that
most teams would go, and obviously the Sons, the Sons

(24:06):
chose that. So they really didn't when it came to it,
they played a game of chicken, and they lost big time,
And they lost in a worse way than they would
have if they had just settled last summer, because now
potentially there are some things in in that contract that
they never would have wanted or had to put into
it if they'd done it a year ago. And how

(24:27):
does today's news relate to Durant's future. Well eighton presumably
would have been a big piece. I just don't see
that the Nets want to do a deal with the Sons.
Initially it was, well, it has to be you know,
they want Devin Booker and the promise that Donovan Mitchell

(24:48):
is now potentially going that's That's the other thing that
would the other wrinkle here is if the Knicks are
getting Mitchell, one of the other proposals. One of the
things that I was told last week in Summer League
that was being discussed was a three way deal that
would send Donovan Mitchell to Brooklyn, k D to Phoenix,

(25:10):
and Eton and Picks too, and possibly another player to
the Utah Jazz or whatever it would require to satisfy
the Utah Jazz to be part of that equation. Uh.
It would also mean, I mean, it gets really complicated.
Ben Simmons would have to be moved. But I don't
think the Nets would have a problem doing that. And

(25:30):
so this really changes the dynamic of the the avenues
for KDE to get to Phoenix. I don't I don't
want to say it's impossible, but I get the sense
that like k D and Kyrie thought that they could
just since they dictated life to the Brooklyn Nets, that

(25:51):
they could once again dictate where they wanted to go
and what they wanted to do. And what they're finding
out is uh, not so fast. Like Katie, you can't
just end up where you want to end up, Kyrie,
you can't just end up where you want to end up.
So now that now, I wouldn't be surprised if we
start hearing from Katie, well, you know what that Kyrie staying,
maybe I'll stay too, And I don't know that I

(26:13):
ever really wanted to go any place anyway. They're gonna
try to put a spin on this where it looks
like they're still in control. But I honestly I feel
as if Kyrie and Kad have kind of got their
come up. It's a little bit they have a little
doseer reality in terms of when you when you, when
you mess around as much as they have, teams begin

(26:33):
to look at it and go, Okay, you may be talented,
but do I want the headache for the talent, especially
if it's going to be a first round sweep. I
believe that's that's the lesson that's been learned at this point.
All Right, So now the latest with Kevin Durant. We've
seen reports that potentially Steph Curry has reached out about
Kadi rejoining the Warriors. Where are you on all this? Well?

(26:58):
So um, When I was told again was that Steph
was like a couple of other stars, had reached out
to Kevin Durant and to see where his head was at.
What do he you know? What do you come back?
Because let's not forget Katie was the one who decided
to leave the Warriors. And I can tell you there's
people with the Warriors that we're glad to see that happen,

(27:21):
and I don't they would have to be convinced to
want to bring him back. What I've been told about
Steph Curry and his exploration would Katie come back? Is
simply steps looking at it and saying what gives us
the best chance of winning a championship. And I'm not
gonna hold how Katie left against him or the chance
of winning another championship. And I don't care people you

(27:44):
are gonna question, well, you know, where's where's your legacy?
And who gets the lie and share like step honestly
does not. He's the most unique superstar I've ever seen where.
It's just like, I don't care whether I get you know,
how much credit I get or what credit I get.
I want to win and I'll let what I do

(28:06):
speak for itself. I'm not gonna if somebody says I'm
not in the top five or the top ten. He
and I had this conversation when he first blew up
and he had his two m v ps, and it
was one of these kind of casual conversations you have
in the locker room, and I said, Hey, would you
trade one of your m v p s for three

(28:27):
consecutive first team All NBA selection? And he kind of
thought about it, and he was like, uh, maybe three,
definitely four, because he said, I can't decide where people
put me. I just want to be in the conversation.

(28:47):
But to be League m v P in any one
year means that you you did it that year. To
to be first team All NBA four years in a row,
now you he felt like that puts you in a
different category sustained excellence. And I asked the same question
to k D because he was there at the time,
and Katie looked at me like I had three heads.
He's like, I'm what I'm taking the m v P

(29:12):
like and I think it's because of where they come from,
Like k D is used to being considered among the
all time great. It's almost from the beginning, it was
almost like he came into the league with that attached
to him, or certainly shortly thereafter when when Okay c

(29:32):
blew up. Steph didn't even make the playoffs the first
three years of his career, and even up through winning championships,
people weren't putting him in that category. So in his mind,
it's always been about I gotta show everybody that I
where and not even show people. It's like how far

(29:55):
up the ladder can I go? Uh? And the idea
of winning a fifth championship, however he would get it,
and that that could possibly give him more championships than
Lebron and as many championships is Kobe and Tim Duncan.
It's like that rarefied air. Just to be in the

(30:16):
conversation with those guys is something that Steph never dreamed of.
So the idea that he would let Kevin Durant and
whether you know who gets the Lion's share would stand
in the way of him like getting a fifth ring,
that doesn't even make any sense to staff. So I
think that's where we have to look at that. The
way he looks at the universe is a little bit

(30:36):
different than than most superstars do because he came up
to being a superstar in a different way than any
of them did. All right, So if that's Deeff part,
now Katie's part of be different because Kadi, you know,
wants he wants the credit and he's not gonna get it.
Scala one to ten real quick before we let you
go that his interest level of golden state one being,

(31:00):
there's absolutely no way I would go back and tend
being yes, that's where I gotta go. I'm going to
say a three or four simply because if he kind
of sits back and he looks at like I'm thirty
four years old, and you know how much does he
has he swayed to step side of things, which is
like one way or another, I'd like to win a

(31:21):
few more rings. I can't. I can't end my career
with only two championships. I mean where does that leave me?
Certainly not in the same uh are that I consider
myself in. So it becomes like, uh, you know what,
going back and all of that. But would I rather

(31:41):
have a championship or I'm gonna play out and play
out my string in Brooklyn and never get close to one.
I think that's I think that's why the door maybe
open a crack. But I would say he'd still like
to find some other way because for what you said,
like I know, it's Steps team, probably always going to
be Steps team. You know, am I willing to it

(32:02):
drove me out of there? Am I willing to go back?
So that's that's where I would put it. Possibility, not
a likelihood. He's on Twitter at Rick Buker, That is

terms do apply well. What is easily the coolest story
of the day in the NFL, The Cincinnati Bengals have
announced they will have new helmets, new alternate helmets for

(33:31):
this year. They have not unveiled the actual pattern, but
in an announcement on social media on their Instagram page,
they are calling it hashtag white Bengal and there's been
some mock ups of what it could look like in
sports site good look of what it might be in
the white jerseys. Also, oh, Steve, that was those uniforms

(33:53):
and those those helmets look so cool, so you can
pants and then the white jerseys eight helmets and black
stripes and with a little bit of orange as an accent,
like maybe get him on the shoulders or around the numbers.
That would look outstanding. Now that and that's me who
really wants the old Bengals helmets where it was just

(34:13):
the orange and it's said Bengals on it, like the
stickers that were on in the late seventies. Yeah, they
kind of it just would say Bengals on the side.
That's what I really like to see. But these will
look fantastic. I mean, this is one of those ideas
that already sounds crisp and clean and fantastic, and it's
really tough to do to say, here's a new uniform
slash helmet, you're gonna love it, because most fans look

(34:34):
at it and go, yeah, that sounds terrible. I don't
want to know. This is like I want to see it,
and I want to see this terrible. Was the Green
Bay Packers not being green for as much instry as
there was? What about the creamsicles coming back? That Harmon's
always excited for with Tampa Bay. Yeah, like the but
I feel like we've known that was coming. Where you
get the cream sickles, that's okay. Like I'm someone that

(34:56):
wants to see like the eighties Chargers jerseys like that
royal blue and the and the bright gold and I
want to see down down the side of the pah, Yeah,
the lightning bolts down the side, like I want to see.
I want to see the blue and white Rams uniforms
from the late sixties Zeke and Jones era, Yes, I
want to I want to see the dolphins in the
big aqua green uniforms of the seventies. Like there's certain

(35:19):
things that I really want not you know, you know
how I feel about the dolphins, and there's certain things
I really want to see that I'm excited to see.
Like that's kind of where my heads. I feel like, Okay,
we're getting the creams singles, all right, Greg, We're getting
the creams, but getting those like that's what I'm excited.
When the Oilers had the light blue jerseys and the
light blue helmets to Love You Blue, those were good also,
So that's possible. And there was a problem before because

(35:41):
you couldn't have a second helmet in the past, and
that's changed. So now we're getting more marketing, we're getting
more combinations in the future. Starting this year, NFL Twitter
and out about a fresco of The Jason Smith Show
with Mike Harmon Steve to Sager in for Mike. Those
are some clean, fresh looks coming up next. You got
a big story out of the NBA. I'm just waiting
for something to happen, because it's gonna happen. It's next

(36:04):
right here, Jason and Steve. This is Fox Mitchell to
the Lakers' Stop.
