Andrew Alderson: ZB Sports Anchor wraps The Warriors, T20 Cricket World Cup and the French Open

What a weekend in sport! The Warriors beat the cowboys 42-12, Carlos Alcaraz beats Alexander Zverev in five sets to win the French Open – plus, Afghanistan beat New Zealand in the T20 World Cup in Guyana.  

Newstalk ZB sports anchor Andrew Alderson told Mike Hosking “New Zealand has poor preparation for this tournament, I’m afraid.” 

Alderson said “Afghanistan is a good side – particularly the bowling attack. But New Zealand should be able to beat them all the same.”

the game in New York looking to take it into America. Secondly,
New Zealand poor preparation for this tournament, I'm afraid. Also
it seems players coming in dribs and drabs limited. I
guess no warm up games. I think going under lights
before the match, just on the evening before it, on

the eve of the game and losing to Afghanistan. Afghanistan
are a good.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Side, Mike, so they are it's going to on the rise.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Particularly the bowling attack. Williamson's right came Whimson in outlining
their bowling attack has been outstanding. Rushing car but also
the new guy left pace bowl of Farookie looks looks
the business and took fives in the first match of
the tournament. But nonetheless New Zealand should be able to
beat Afghanistan all the same, So a difficult tournament the
head given the again now faced West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago.

ago and if the Cowboys, you know that, they have

I thought, are you drunk or something? There's no way
they were coming back.

I do love the word clown actually when it's screwing. Yeah,
it's it's underused. Yeah that just brilliant from the Warrior

For it's magical, it's good, it's great to watch, exactly. Yeah,
and so a couple of points, we don't have our
