Christopher Luxon says Ukraine cannot lose the war against Russia.

NATO leaders have called China a decisive enabler of Russia's war on Ukraine.

Luxon's chaired the Indo-Pacific Four meeting, NATO-aligned countries New Zealand, Australia, Japan and South Korea.

Luxon also called out China's role in supporting the rebuilding of Russia's industrial base.

He says they don't want to see any country supporting the Russia war machine and it's a conversation he raised with Chinese Premier Li when he was in New Zealand.

But China has pushed back against NATO's stance.

A spokesperson says Beijing put forward a 12-point paper more than a year ago that set out general principles for ending the war.

It received a lukewarm reception at the time in both Russia and Ukraine.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jason Walls joins me now from America. Jason, how are you, Jason?
Good morning?

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I'm very well.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
How are you going? All right? So what have we
got at? Good moment? Good morning, We've got Christopher LExEN.
He actually met with Joe Biden. Discussion details remain unclear.
What did you hear about it?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah, well, he met with Joe Biden a couple of times. Actually,
the first time was at a White House dinner last
night where just as a side note, he said he
had surf and turf. But he met with him and
a number of other world leaders at the White House.
Was a big group photo taken outside before going inside,
but they didn't really we didn't really get many details
of what they talked about, other than the fact that
Joe Biden likes New Zealand, which I can't really do

(00:43):
much with. But you would have seen behind the scenes,
there was a lot of talk this weekend about Russia's
ist of the Ukraine, so that definitely would have come
up in the conversations.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Also, Christopher Lexon, I mean, he's had such a big
smile on his face. He's had so much fun, but
things got serious today because it's now cheering committees.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
That's right. He's been sharing the IP four Pacific Indoor
Pacific Forum, which is essentially New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Korea.
So in that forum he was actually joined by Vladimir Zelenski,
who is really paying tribute to the work that the
group had been done. Of course, New Zealand had given
all sorts of money to Ukraine were up to one
hundred and thirty million dollars now. But the interesting thing

(01:24):
about what Chris Luckson said was he was actually calling
out China. He said the intent sifying military relationship we
see between Russia North Korea, and China's role in supporting
the rebuilding of Russia's industrial base demonstrates the indivisibility issues
between Europe and our part of the world. And that
sort of sentiment about China was echoed a little bit
later by Jens Stohlberg, who is the outgoing NATO General Secretary.

(01:49):
So you can see Chris Luxon really really cozying up
to those NATO partners and allies such as the US
rather than China. But he's going to learn soon he
has to come back to our very very lonely corner
of the world, where China still looms pretty large.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Meanwhile, we're getting more and more reports that NATO officials
are getting more and more worried about Joe Biden. And
he's got the big climactic conference at ten thirty today
and he's solow are you hearing in the NATO conference
in the summit? Are you hearing more calls for Joe
Biden to step down?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
It'll be the only question today will Joe Biden remain
on as the Democratic nominee. I mean, you had George
Clooney coming out and basically calling him to step us
all not basically calling on him to step aside, which
is one of the biggest blows yet for the president's president.
I mean, when you've got Batman telling you can no
longer do the job, I think it's time that he
steps aside. So I think that that is going to

(02:40):
come up in the press conference. We're heading to California
now to and Luxon said that he's meeting with Gavin Newsom,
who is a top Democrat, so obviously there'll be some
questions about him, but it's not looking good for Joe Biden.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Hey, Jason, really looking forward to your coverage of the
these issues, and all everything that's happening in America over
the course of this day. For more from the mic
