Leanne Geraghty: Air New Zealand chief customer and sales officer on one-off Warriors Las Vegas package

Air New Zealand is this morning saying Viva Wahs Vegas.

They’ve announced a one-off Auckland to Las Vegas flight celebrate the Warriors’ 2025 season opener in Sin City.

Demand is already sky high, with calls and communications already coming in to the airline as soon as the trip to Vegas was confirmed.

Air New Zealand chief customer and sales officer Leanne Geraghty joined Mike Hosking.

In New Zealand. This morning is announced a one off
Auckland to Las Vegas flights to celebrate the Warriors will
be opening the twenty twenty five season in New Zealand's
chief Customer and sales officer, Lian Gerrity's with us on

How are you very well? Thank you. I know it's
probably out of your purview, but if you guys ever
thought about going direct to Las Vegas regularly.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Oh, look, we're always looking at new destinations for our network,
but it's not on the radar as a permanent destination
at this stage.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Okay, this is a package santackage. So who coordinates the package?
You get together hotels and all that stuff or how
does that work?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yeah, so we're coordinating the package through our grab a
Seat arm and it's a fantastic offer for nine nine
nine NonStop flights from Auckland into Vegas, tickets to watch
the Rugby League games obviously the Raiders versus the Warriors
on the first five nights. Accommodation Park MGM Return Airport transfers,

a great fan function and we're going to have some
excellent entertainment on board.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Is the MGM any good part of me? The MGM.
Is there any good the hotel?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Oh that hotel, Yeah, very nice hotel. It'll be nice
at three k's from the stadium, so great distance. Nice
leisurely stroll down the bulverard. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Putting extra drink on board the plane, because I suspect
your average Warriors fan is going to be a bit
ready to go, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
We'll have plenty of refreshments on board the aircraft. We
might even have a little bit of pino on there
in cases. Any pinols that care to join, Oh, very good.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
If the plane fills up, is there another plane or
is this literally one off?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
At this stage it's one off, But obviously if the
demand is so strong, we'll do everything we can to
try and get another aircraft on. But for now, just
this one aircraft.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Fantastic. And what would your assessment of the demand be
or you're literally guessing no.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Demand? I think is going to be very very high.
We've had a lot of calls through and a lot
of communication from Tough and Warriors fans that are wanting
to actually go to the game. So as soon as
it was announced, we had quite a few people coming
through asking what we were going to do.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Brilliant. Good on you, Lee and I appreciate your time

and sales officer. Might I suggest and we didn't actually
start the week with the Warriors like we normally do,
because well, wow, I was there because we lost, because
we lost, and we lost badly. And Chanelle Harris Devita,

cannot kick for shit. I mean, come on, there is
no way, there's no way of hiding that. And as
I said to the lads on Monday, I literally can
kick better than him, and that is saying nothing. And
for Webster to have a backup kicker who is that
bad is inexcusable. I'm sorry, but it's inexcusable. So we

need to sort of tidy our act up a little
bit to warrant Vegas, because if we come like sixteenth
or seventeenth, you really want to go to Vegas to
watch us lou to the Raiders because I can tell
you what happened the last time we played the Raiders.
